how well the red queen ships would fare in a long distance relationship:

marecal: absolutely terrible. mare gets insecure but doesn’t know how to communicate her fears of losing him and cal can never pick up on why she’s pissed off at him all the time. kilorn has to block them both for his mental happiness because mare keeps sending him edgy text messages and cal keeps ringing him up stressed out of his mind. when one flies down to see the other they are inseparable but arguing all the time and the goodbyes are always painfully drawn out and they’re both crying for the next three hours over it.

evane: evangeline will get a little jealous when she hears about a new friend of elane’s and elane will get FOMO when she hear about thing evangeline is doing without her but they communicate effectively and would spend a lot of dough visiting each other as much as they can even if its mot so reasonable. i think this is the couple that will be the least likely to ever do long distance because they literally cant be separated it would have to take a miracle.

sharley: they are pretty okay. they miss each other heaps and when they facetime it hits how far the other is and diana will stay up late at night sweating about not being around shade for too long but other than that they don’t get very jealous of people around them and are secure in their love.

kilorn x cameron: stable as hell. kilorn gets occasionally sad but both are so busy with their lives they can go two weeks without a text and then remember ‘oh shit havent called my gf/bf’ in a while and when they do its no big deal. kilorn texts cameron an ‘i miss you’ text and gets his response 8 hours later and its chill. and then they meet up and hang like they saw each other last tuesday. they dont want to be apart but they know its not gonna last forever.

thomaven: maven is absolutely terrible at it. thomas will go away and 72 hours later maven will show up at his front door with no warning.

gisa x shopgirl: probably the most stable. there could be sabotage ploy after sabotage ploy on this ship and they would still make it out the other end without breaking a sweat.

Odd question no. 15, how would you rate each Red Queen book (including Broken Throne) 1-10 and why? Very curious, given that you reread the series and able to portray each Red Queen characters with such accuracy in your fics.

This is a hard question because the books have a score in my head and another in my heart. I’ll do my best to explain 🧐

Red Queen is a 7/10:

While the powers and characters are nicely set up, it lacks a lot of worldbuilding. Also, Mare AND Farley are infuriatingly silly when it comes to trusting Maven after the Shooting of the Sun and I remember screaming at the iPad screen “Girl what are you doing??” and just being incredibly frustrated with Mare. But books are all about setups and payoffs so when it all goes to shit in the last chapters, it is very satisfying. All in all, it’s a great first book.

Glass Sword 9/10:

 I can hear the uproar and complaints about this but I don’t give a damn. I love this one sooo much. I explained in a post you can find in my blog. Marecal cuddles, that freaking ending, what else could a girl ask for?

King’s Cage 8/10:

I think it’s a nearly perfect book but it’s triggering as fuck to read (that’s why it loses two stars) and it almost made me stop reading the series altogether. Thankfully, my sister convinced me to keep reading and trust Victoria to not have a Mareven endgame. The intricacies VA introduces to the political aspect of the story are fantastic and the emotional beats are just ugh PERFECT. It’s my boy’s moment to shine. Long live king Maven.

War Storm 6/10:

 Imma keep it 100 with you, I love WS and it was a joy to read and re-read. The problem? It solves every plot point in a very lazy, uncreative manner that I found lackluster. There should’ve been a fifth book to actually take the time and resolve the conflicts in a coherent way, and Iris should’ve been the Ultimate Boss. The set up was there, and it was wasted. I have zero complaints about the character arcs though. 

Broken Throne 6/10: It was a nice addition to the series, but again, I feel like the emotional lines it explores could’ve easily fit in a 5th book (not exactly as they are presented here though) 

Like Brendon Sanderson says: It’s all about the promises you make to the reader at the beginning of the story. VA delivered way more than what I could have hoped for in terms of characters' journeys and I hold them dear.

Orkester //Nedeljski abonma Cuker teater Portorož

Režija: Dejan Spasić

Komedija Orkester (L'Orchestre) francoskega dramatika Jeana Anouilha (1910-87), napisana 1962, je bila premierno uprizorjena v Comédie des Champs-Elysées v Parizu in je takoj postala uspešnica. Dramatik, predvsem pa komediograf Anouilh, dedič francoske bulvarske komedije, v navidezno lahkotne, komične situacije svojih komedij vnaša duha svojega časa, z vsemi prikritimi in zamolčanimi problemi, s katerimi se spopadajo mali ljudje. V Orkestru so to voditeljica orkestra, pet glasbenic in pianist, ki večer za večerom v kavarni zabavajo goste s prebavnimi težavami. Patricija, Pamela, Ermelina, Leona in Suzana nam skozi dogajanje razkrivajo svoje eksistencialne probleme, ki jih skušajo minimalizirati, si pred njimi zatiskajo oči, hkrati pa prežijo druga na drugo in se zabavajo ob težavah drugih. Resnični in v jedru tragični dramaturški zaplet pa predstavlja nekakšen erotični trikotnik, v katerem so se znašli avtoritativna voditeljica orkestra, madame Hortense, Suzana Délicias in pianist, edini moški v orkestru, Suzanin ljubimec in predmet erotičnega poželenja madame Hortense.

Toda v času, ko je vrednost človeške eksistence do skrajnosti relativizirana, nobeno dejanje ne sme imeti nobenega učinka, bolne goste je treba za vsako ceno zabavati, ne glede na to, kaj se bo zgodilo, ali z drugimi besedami: show must go on… Anouilhova črna komedija je danes nemara bolj aktualna, kot je bila v času svojega nastanka.
