More than two miles long and 1,142 feet tall, Uluru, the red sandstone rock formation in Australia’s Northern Territory, wows travelers during the day.
But now, a new night spectacle Wintjiri Wiru illuminates the darkness adjacent to the monolith in a way that reveals Indigenous culture while dazzling with high-tech sound and lights.
“Humans are drawn to light—just think of how compelling sunsets are,” says Melbourne light artist Bruce Ramus, who designed the work in collaboration with the local Anangu people and Voyages Indigenous Tourism.
Wintjiri Wiru is just the latest offering—and newest technology — in the tradition of son et lumière (sound and light) shows, grand public spectacles projected on to (or close to) historic buildings and natural wonders.
These mash-ups of pageantry, culture, and art are experiencing a boom fueled by digital advances and tourist sites looking to attract visitors after dark.
Here’s where to see the latest shows, plus why visitors love these “virtual campfires.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How did sound and light shows start?
Paul Robert-Houdin created the first sound and light show in 1952 at France’s Château de Chambord.
Music and narration played while slide projectors splashed colored lights on the 16th-century palace.
“We had the feeling that a new way of discovering and understanding monumental heritage was perhaps being born,” one observer wrote in Le Figaro newspaper.
The concept was a hit.
“Standing in the dark and being immersed in sounds and images creates a sense of enchantment,” says Jane Lovell, a professor of tourism at Canterbury Christ Church University in England.
In the following decades, other storied sites harnessed that magic, such as the Red Fort in Delhi, India, and Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
“There were captive audiences for these attractions, so the efforts were minimal—just light up these beautiful things that already existed,” says California light show producer Ryan Miziker.
Early technology was expensive and bulky: sofa-sized slide carousels, finicky stereo speakers that malfunctioned in bad weather.
The storytelling, if mostly historically accurate, could be clunky and lecturing.
At Egypt’s Pyramids at Giza, the still-running circa-1961 show features the Sphinx “narrating” a lofty spiel about ancient life as murky colored lights wash over the monuments.

How tech took over light shows
“Son et lumieres started out as pretty rudimentary things—a castle would be lit up and a soundtrack would say, ‘this tower was built in 1592,’” says Ross Ashton of London’s Projection Studio, which designs extravaganzas for attractions from Welsh castles to Indian fortresses.
But by the 1990s, innovations in video, lasers, and audio meant creators could screen riveting, mind-bending shows.
“Digital video changed everything,” says Miziker.
“We had software to do 3-D mapping, which takes a round object like a globe and flattens it, or wraps any structure in overlapping, blending geometry.”
Sound evolved, too.
“Bells, spoken voices from different directions, or a fireball rolling, you can layer sound up, so it feels like a tapestry,” says Projection Studio’s sound artist Karen Monid.
Today’s sound and light shows are like mini action movies screened on historic buildings or natural wonders.
San Antonio’s The Saga wraps the 18th-century San Fernando Cathedral in sound effects (mariachi ballads, cannon blasts) and painterly images (folk dancers, renderings of the Alamo) to tell the story of the Texas city.
In Jerusalem, Israel, the ancient Tower of David has two night shows, one on city history and the other about the biblical shepherd-turned-ruler that gave the site its name.
Wintjiri Wiru harnesses LED lights, lasers, sound, and 1,100 drones to recount a legend from the Anangu, who consider Uluru sacred.
The show depicts mala (wallaby-rabbit) beings battling a gigantic devil dog spirit.
“Combine light with sound—in this case Anangu songs and other effects—and it’s like the desert is speaking,” says Ramus.
Other projects are more abstract, such as the new Aura Invalides show at Les Invalides in Paris, which fills the grand interiors of the historic military monument with surreal rays of colored light and outlines architectural elements in laser graffiti.
“People move around within the building, making it more like a 360-degree immersion than something didactical,” says Manon McHugh, a spokesperson for Moment Factory, the studio that created the show.
Tumblr media
Why travelers love spectacles
Experts think people are drawn to these shows for their sense of wonder and spectacle.
“Sound and light shows are like fireworks—it’s impossible to look away,” says Miziker.
"Since audiences are sitting in the dark, there’s cognitive dissonance, with the atmosphere almost becoming its own entity,” says Lovell.

Plus, in this age of Instagram, sound and light spectacles make ideal selfie backdrops or video ops.
“When Moment Factory started doing shows, we didn’t want people to have their phones out,” says McHugh.
Now, other digital production studios build in elements like photo booths to encourage participants to share their experiences.
Tumblr media
How sound and light shows help tourist sites
Sound and light shows can be expensive and time-consuming to design.
(Wintjiri Wiru was developed over several years and cost $10 million.)
But many tourist attractions and cities are willing to shell out.
“They produce new income streams,” says Ashton. “People normally go home at night, but if you sell them a ticket to an illumination, they’ll come back.”
Many sound and light experiences in public, urban spaces — outside cathedrals, on city halls, across skyscrapers — are free, but paid for by cities to give visitors an excuse to stay an extra night.
“We used to think of tourism as a daytime activity, but there has been this tourist-ification of the night,” says Andrew Smith, a professor of urban experiences at England’s University of Westminster.
“Now cities want to attract people and keep them in town. It’s a commodification of the night, a way to extend economic and cultural activity.”
Studies indicate that these shows might even make city downtowns feel safer. “It starts to dematerialize the buildings,” says Ramus.
“You just see the lights, and our cities become transparent. They feel gentler.”

Anaglyphs by Joseph Charles d'Almeida (Paris 1822 – Paris 1880).
I was distantly related to the physicist from Almeida who was a great uncle of my grandfather, what I have left of him are photos representing him...
The first public projections of stereoscopic views were made possible thanks to the invention of Joseph Charles d'Almeida. The latter projects the images through a magic lantern using colored filters and distributes glasses with these same filters (red and green) to the spectators. This invention was perfected and is still used today in the so-called anaglyph process. (1).
In 1858, the French physicist Joseph – Charles d'Almeida invented the first relief slide projection process, anaglyphs. For the selection of left and right images (stereoscopic pair), two complementary colors are used, red and blue (cyan). This process with red and cyan glasses is still used today. (2).
The photographer specializing in stereoscopy, Isaac Georges Lévy (Hégenheim 1833 – 1916 Paris) had his stereoscopic photo workshop in Paris (Cf. Photo from the Roger Viollet Collection), the photographer Roger Viollet cannot be in a paper medium for reasons legal. (3).
During the late 1850's, Joseph Charles d'Almeida had been developing a way to view images in 3 D by using the anaglyph method. He and Louis Ducos Du Hauron (Langon 1837 – 1920 Agen) gave the first anaglyph presentation in 1858, using makeshift color lenses as 3D glasses. (4).
Through Stereoscopy, Laes Anaglyphes, MM Charles d'Almeida, Mr. Georges Lévy and Mr. Gabriel Lppmann (1845 – 1921) are among the pioneers of stereoscopic photography which will give rise to relief films. (5).
Joseph Charles d'Almeida (Paris 1822 - Paris 1880) proposed in 1858 relief projection on screen, in anaglyuph, according to Rollman's process, using two projectors (two "magic lanterns") equipped with red filters and green or yellow and cyan. (6).
In 1858, Joseph Charles d'Almeida, a physics professor at the Lycée Henri IV in Paris, invented a method for showing stereoscopic images to several people at once using a lantern projector equipped with red and blue filters. . Spectators wore red and blue glasses. (7).
Stereoscopy invented by Charles Wheatone in 1838 has many variations but only the process using color filtering, developed by the German Wilhelm Rollman in 1853 and later called anaglyph, makes it possible to print in a single image, which can be of large format, the information necessary for relief vision, which is obtained by means of filter glasses. Charles d'Almeida presented this technique at the Paris Academy of Sciences in July 1858 and was interested in its improvement. His research will open the way to strobostereoscopy, a method applicable to cinema and using the alternation of filtered views of two complementary colors. (8).

During the late 1850's, Joseph Charles d'Almeida had been developping a way to view images in 3 D by using the anaglyph method. He and Louis Ducos Du Hauron (Langon 1837 – 1920 Agen) gave the first anaglyph presentation in 1858, using makeshift color lenses as 3D glasses. (4).

Tumblr media
Date video was published: 11/02/2017 (X)
DNP Main Channel Rewatch: 363
How was the the dog calendar four years ago?! I’ve seen this video so many times; it’s definitely a comfort video for me.
In early October, Phil talked in a live show about them getting ready to shoot the calendar. And then Dan accidentally spoiled that it was dogs before they announced it officially (and shared some of the calendar photos), whoops.
0:00 - already adorable. also, I just realized the jumper in this shot (that they used for the calendar cover photo) is the same one they end up sticking black felt to for the photo with the dalmatian
0:03 - Phil wearing a dog-themed jumper of course
0:13 - all of their calendars were hilarious
0:24 - I love that this was a Martyn idea
0:53 - that is quite the combination of inspiration
1:22 - that is early for them, lol
1:44 - “what pokes out of that hole” ...great start there, Phil
Tumblr media
1:47 - Phil tongue-thing! I love that they just went with it for the joke
2:15 - talking during the makeup application is not very helpful for the poor person trying to do it for them
2:23 - that’s slightly creepy
2:28 - Dan really does look good in color
2:37 - oh my god that dog is cute. Phil just recently shared another photo of him with this one too 🥺
2:47 - I love this look at their process (also that it’s literally just powerpoint slides 😂)
3:10 - I don’t think Phil was prepare for filming at this moment
Tumblr media
3:27 - I don’t know about the color of those shirts
3:34 - also disturbing
3:45 - will never be over the soft voice Dan uses with small animals and babies 😭
Tumblr media
3:48 - Phil seems much more nervous holding the dog than Dan
3:51 - “I can’t function on any level right now” me watching this video
3:53 - I love that they hauled that houseplant from their house to the studio for this, lol
3:57 - those shorts must be a bit too tight 👀
4:01 - Phil shared a couple outtakes with this puppy during the stereo era (1, 2)
Tumblr media
3:05 - this Dan pose is adorable
4:09 - those puppies do not want to be in that basket, lol
4:13 - Dan’s favorite! and the one he shared on Instagram, of course
4:23 - that is a happy doggo
4:30 - “shower us with cherry blossoms” sometimes I hate it here (affectionate)
Tumblr media
4:41 - Phil does love a theme
4:51 - love them referring to themselves as “D&P” in the planning
4:56 - “dog also wears sunglasses” I love it 😂
4:58 - please pause and read their concept slides; I’m dying 😂😂😂
5:15 - I would be scared I would sit on the dog accidentally
5:21 - incredibly soft Dan voice again 🥺
5:38 - “giving people pick up lines” sure...and of course the addition of the ‘sexy’ music
5:46 - they’re so happy and soft about this
Tumblr media
5:53 - “it’s ‘cause you’re so warm” help 😭
6:07 - a whole crowd trying to keep the dogs’ attention
6:11 - danger and an unnecessary “wooo!” from Dan there
6:31 - they said later (in a live show, I think?) that all of these dogs just belonged to Martyn’s friends
6:44 - Phil looks a bit tired at this point
6:52 - bouncing jokes off of each other to refine them as usual
7:03 - too many puns
7:13 - king of comedy Phil there
Tumblr media
7:25 - they used these jumpers for the Halloween baking video
7:41 - more fantastic concept text
8:08 - wonder if this inspired the idea for the UK vs JAPAN School Lunches! video
8:18 - the ass shot is already something, but Da deciding to zoom in just really adds another level 👀 christ.
8:27 - bread-face Dan smile
8:39 - jesus christ 😳 and Dan’s tongue-thing on top of it
Tumblr media
8:57 - more joint joke creation
9:33 - that is a look
9:53 - I love that they have bobble hats that I’m pretty sure are ones Phil's aunt makes
10:07 - Phil looking very fond
10:20 - Dan implying that this is the concept that could just be from their everyday life
Tumblr media
10:23 - quiff Phil! just a few months away from that for real at this point
10:52 - they both look like they’re wearing extra comfy clothes after the end of the shoot
11:03 - lol at merch-promoing Dan
11:13 - “best time of our life” 🥺 it’s much more rare for Phil to let an “our life” slip than Dan
I love every moment of this video. There really are so many fantastic videos at the end of 2017.

BTS Reactions: 07 Singing/Rapping/Dancing
[MASTERLIST] Requests open!
Ever your jester.
Tumblr media
Seokjin: Lover - Taylor Swift
Tumblr media
Jin had never heard you sing before not even for his birthday. He knew you were too shy and he thought it was cute. Occasionally he would hear you hum a sweet melody and he would quietly listen loving the sound of your voice. But you were in a particularly good mood, quietly watching you shake your hips while making pancakes.
Your voice was soft and sweet it was unlike your speaking voice which was a little deeper. The sound had control and you sang with ease forgetting your boyfriend was an international pop star. But it had been a while since you had sang anything, and the song on the radio was too enticing not to sing along to.
‘Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home You're my, my, my, my lover’
Jin leaned on the fridge and closed his eyes. To Jin your voice was like the first bite of a strawberry it was sweet and refreshing. He left his phone on top of the fridge to record the beautiful sound while he stepped out of the room so you weren’t interrupted. It was a sound he saved and listened to whenever he was stressed or on tour.
Yoongi: Earthquake - Labrinth (All stars remix) ft.  Tinie Tempah, Kano, Wretch 32 & Busta Rhymes
Tumblr media
Yoongi was sitting in his office when heard rapping from somewhere in the house, he had heard you sing and even jokingly rap his songs and mimic his rapping style before. But this was serious spit fire. He entered the bedroom and the sound was louder but he soon realized you were in the shower.
‘I rock all my clothes like a hipster And I rock them shades like a G That girl be definitely coming if she's coming with me I'm like a hundred degrees man I'm even hotter than August’
Yoongi’s smirked he hopped the August comment wasn’t directed at him and his alter ego Agust D. He leaned against the door listening impressed as you didn’t get out of breath you as you rapped the third verse.
It was when you hit the fourth and final verse he ripped open the door and through the steam he stared at you with wide eyes and his mouth open. You had not only continued rapping you picked up the pace and rapped faster.
‘T-Trust me homie Do not walk up in my shadow Just respect my handle while we bang and make the Earth rattle’
“Marry me” He grinned
Hoseok: Danger - BTS
Tumblr media
You remember the day you had first danced with Hoseok, it was a long day and you were trying to help with the choreography for Danger. Hoseok always refused help even though you were one of the many hired choreographers for the group. So for almost a whole year you just sat and watched and ran errands for the boys.
Hoseok wasn’t stuck up he just preferred making his own original content and no matter how hard you tried to explain he wouldn’t even let non members of back up dancers dance beside him or give him input he was too focused.
He never told you but he really liked you, you were a really cool, street fashion queen and he didn’t like being left alone with you. He wouldn’t look at you and tried not to listen when you spoke because the way you pronounced your Korean words with your cute accent got to him.
It was like your words were slurred but not in an annoying drunk kind of way more of a sexy drawl that made Hoseok himself feel he was intoxicated by every word.
When all the others left and you two were the only ones left he finally took a break grumbling unhappily. He was taking a drink and sitting down, so you took the chance. You had watched the choreography for weeks and you knew what was missing. While he was changing his shirt and wiping his hair with a dry towel, you played the song on the stereo and got into position.
You danced and were making noises under your breathe as Korean wasn’t your first language you didn’t try to sing. You went about adjusting a few moves and adding to the area’s he was stuck on with ease. You saw his face in the mirror as he watched you dancing and it you were having fun with the chorus you were making a few noises as you went.
You noticed he had started smiling and you grinned and finished, “I’m here to help and sometimes it helps watching someone else dance you choreography to help with ideas. Will you let me help, Hoseok Oppa?”
Namjoon: Expensive Girl - RM
Tumblr media
In the middle of a VLive Namjoon heard something strangely familiar but he couldn’t quite place it, he paused identifying that it was you who was singing. It was smooth, sultry and a little breathy. He smiled at the camera and ran a hand through his hair.
‘Girl,  You’re the medicine patch that slowly eases my motion sickness Wherever I go I’ll have it under my ear The time it takes to fall for you takes 3 seconds But  I feel as though you’re the meaning of my eternity’
“Y/N is singing, I know the song from somewhere but I don’t know where its from. Also she is really good. WOW! my girlfriend can sing” he picked up the camera and began walking to the door. He opened it and saw you slowly singing his song in English while gently brushing your hair.
‘Take  it off now girl just take it off I’m a master, baby with your bra Take it off now girl just take it off I can help you slide those-’
“BABE no” he screeched and you turned confused looking at his blushing face the tips of his ears were red and he gestured to the camera “Don’t sing that in front of the Army’s”
“Dim the lights down baby, Dim the-”  With eyes locked on his you smirked and continued but you screamed and ran as he chased you through the house. The camera in his hand shakily filming and the audience squealing in the comments.
Jimin:  f**k, I'm Lonely - Lauv ft. Anne-Marie
Tumblr media
You were told to meet the boys in the practice room at 3pm after there meeting, but you assumed the meeting was still going as they weren’t there, you waited ten minutes and was getting kind of bored. You went to the sound system and hit play to see what was in there, it was a song you knew pretty well.
You started to mess around and make up a mock routine, the song soon died out and they still weren’t there. Sighing you turned the song back on and went through the routine again and added some more moves. You were soon up to the seventh repeat and you were getting more confident and a little more adventurous with your moves.
You were singing and dancing, your body seemed to just now how to move. You didn’t hear the door open due to the music and your eyes were locked on the way you moved as you perfected the choreography.
‘Yeah, I still watch the shows you showed me I still drink that wine, But these days it tastes more bitter than sweet, hmm And all my friends are way too drunk to save me from my phone So sorry if I say some things I mean’
You were singing loudly, proud of your voice. It was a strong soprano and you held it well while dancing and you let yourself be taken over the music. With a one handed back flip a break dancing move that you learnt as a teen, you stood up and rolled your head with ease singing the chorus while body rolling to the beat.
‘F**k, I'm lonely, I'm lonely, I'm lonely as F**k, come hold me, come hold me, come hold me It's been me myself and why Did you go? Did you go?’
Jimin was watching biting his bottom lip turned on by the dance you were doing, he had never seen his cute little girlfriend do anything provocative. He couldn’t help it and joined in on the last chorus trying out your moves and grinning at your blushing face.
Taehyung: Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra
Tumblr media
You were standing in front of the upright piano, you use to play before your brother died on the way to your recital. Your fingers gently twitching by your side playing invisible keys. It wasn’t your first time at the boys dorm but you were usually distracted by their shenanigans to have time to thinks about the ominous instrument in the corner.
However half of the boys left to dance practice and the others were in their rooms, the living room was empty and Taehyung went to get the food and drinks from the delivery guy at the front doors of the apartment. You sat on the old stool and raised the wooden key cover, hands shaking you were startled by Jin.
“You are allowed to play it, no one else does” He smiled and you jumped and he laughed “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you”
He ducked off to his room giggling and you got up the courage to strike a key, the sound flooding the house and you let out a breath feeling the sound fill your body. You realized your hands were no longer shaking when you heard a beautiful melody and you couldn’t help singing along.
‘Fly me to the moon Let me play among the stars Let me see what spring is like on A-Jupiter and Mars‘
Whoever was playing was good and your body was swaying, Taehyung’s voice joined yours and you opened your eyes smiling only to realize you were the one playing. The music halted with a jarring sound as your hand slipped hitting the wrong keys.
“You sing really pretty baby bear” He smiled and kissed your cheek and placed the food on the coffee table, “You should play more often, I didn’t know you could. And your singing is really pretty... why are you crying?”
Jungkook: Who you? - GDragon
Tumblr media
‘Baby I love you ireoke malhajiman nae maeumeun waenji hanado jochi anha I want you  I need you’
You were singing G-Dragon’s song ‘who you?’, while casually walking on the treadmill, you were winding down after your workout and having a blast singing forgetting that your headphones were on and singing as loud as you wanted.
Jungkook stepped into the gym with his Personal Trainer and the small camera crew for his Vlogs and grinned “Ah I didn’t know Y/N Noona was such a great singer, this is the first time i have heard her singing. We both share a love for Kwon Ji-yong Sunbaenim”
He started working out with his PT watching you singing and walking on the treadmill, he found himself out of breath quite quickly. He was too busy watching you singing happily your voice and body enticing him as you seemed to all but strut on the treadmill.
‘Du du du du du du du Du du du du du du du Du du du du du du du Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh’
“Ah Noona is so distracting” he whined as he got scolded by the PT and he hummed pulling out his phone and calling Namjoon. “Hey do you think you can get Kwon Ji-yong Sunbaenim’s number, I want to ask him out for dinner with Y/N”

You wake up and the sun light hits your the face right when you open your eyes. You turn around and hold back a groan. Once you open your eyes, you see Billy and almost ‘awn’ out loud at the sight.
The adorable sight being your boyfriend, Billy, sleeping peacefully on his back with your 2 year old daughter asleep on his chest, with her chubby cheeks pressed onto his skin and her slightly parted rosey lips making a way so a little drool falls onto Billy’s skin.
You brush her curly hair out of her chubby cute face and Y/D/N hums into your touch.
It’s pretty late, but since it’s Sunday, nobody cares enough to get up early in the morning.
Y/D/N falls back into a deep sleep as you pull away your hand and you look up at Billy. The peaceful sleeping look on his face was enough to make your smile reappear.
You two found out that you were pregnant when you were almost graduating. Billy didn’t tell anyone and worked two jobs for a few months so the both of you could have enough money to survive alone out of town.
Your family was supportive and didn’t tell anyone either.
You two ended up getting an apartment not too far from Hawkins, since you didn’t have enough money to move to California, as Billy wanted.
Billy’s family, on the other hand, think that you two only left Hawkins because you wanted to be/feel independent; so didn’t really care.
It’s been 2 years since your baby girl was born, and you two now have full-time jobs and a better apartment.
But also, another child (6 months old). His arrival went way smoother, since this time you two didn’t need to stress over not having enough money for food or a place to stay.
You get up from the bed after coming back to reality and go to the bathroom to do your morning routine. You stay in one of Billy’s shirts and some leggings before going to check on Y/S/N, who is also in a deep sleep, hugging his stuffy close to him.
You walk to the kitchen, start making breakfast and start the coffee machine. While washing your hands on the sink you gasp as you feel two arms wrapping around your waist.
You smile, not even a second later, once you know who is behind you.
“Already awake?” You ask while leaning your head back on Billy’s shoulder.
“I woke up when you got up” Billy whispers into your neck before planting a kiss.
“Why was Y/D/N in our bed?” You ask, turning around.
“She showed up in the middle of the night saying she had a nightmare” Billy explains as you cup his face with your hands.
“Did she talked to you about it?”
“No, but she promised that she would today”
You two share a kiss and Billy’s hands slowly go under the shirt that you’re wearing, gripping your hips and bringing you closer to him.
“I love you” He whispers into your lips and you smile at him.
“And, I love you”
While you look into each other’s eyes, you hear little footsteps on the hallway.
“Mommy?”
You hear a little voice coming from the doorway and you two look at it.
“Hi, baby” You say before getting out of Billy’s hold and picking up your son. “Slept well?”
He nods and scrubs his blue eyes before leaning his head on your shoulder. Billy walks to your side and pecks his son’s temple before going back to the bedroom to wake up his daughter.
You turn back to the stove and finish preparing breakfast while playing with Y/S/N.
Billy walks in his room and finds Y/D/N still asleep in the middle of your queen sized bed. He lays down next to the two year old and starts kissing her face, neck and arms, making her start waking up and giggle at her father and his kisses.
“Good morning” Billy tells his giggly daughter and she smiles at him. “Mommy is making breakfast, are you hungry?” He asks and she nods. “Let’s get you up then”
Billy sits her up and they both go in the bathroom. He helps her wash her face and picks her up before walking back to the kitchen.
You put down the food on center of the table and everyone starts eating.
“Daddy, can we go to park?” Y/D/N asks sloppily with her spoon on her mouth.
“Sure” Billy answers giving her a smile, in which she returns.
Everyone finishes their food and Billy offers to wash the dishes while you go dress up everyone.
You already changed your son’s diaper so you start getting the clothes out of their wardrobe.
“Mommy” Y/D/N says and you look over at her, “Can I wear dress?”
“Of course you can, princess. It’s pretty warm outside” You tell her. “Pick one” You say while pointing at the pile of dresses in the wardrobe.
Your daughter walked to the wardrobe and you start dressing your son. After he was done, he sped off to the kitchen to look for his dad.
Y/D/N gives you her baby pink dress and you smile at her. You help her change into her clothes and she, also, runs back to the kitchen.
You walk to your own bedroom and put on some jeans and a white t-shirt. You spray on your perfume, put on deodorant, and do something to your hair before going to look for your family.
You get to the living room and Billy had each kid on each of his legs while having a conversation with them, (or trying to understand their burbling).
“Let’s go?” You ask and the three look at you.
They nod and Billy puts the kids on the ground while standing up.
You all walk out of the apartment and you make sure that the door is locked before you start walking down the stairs.
Once you all walk out of the building, you help the kids get in Billy’s car, the blue Camaro that the both of you decided to keep.
Billy drives to the park while music plays softly on the stereo and Billy hums the lyrics while the kids were sitting in the back.
Once you get there, you all get out of the car and once the kids are put down on the ground, they run to the park where all the other kids are. While you and Billy walk hand in hand, fingers intertwined, way slower.
You both sit down on a bench and start talking. Talking about nothing in particular. Billy’s eyes stay glued on his little girl and his little boy, scared that something might happen if he looks away.
“Is it today that your mom is coming over for dinner?” Billy asks and you gasp.
“Oh my god! I completely forgot” You say and Billy chuckles. “Can we go buy something for dinner on our way home?”
“Of course, we can” Billy answers still with a smile on his face.
You lean your head on his shoulder, while looking at the kids playing in the park and questioning yourself on how you could’ve forgotten about dinner.
You stay silent for most of the time, enjoying the light cool breeze hitting you, Billy’s warmth and smell, and also the kids that you two have, who keep giggling and running through the park.
After 2 hours of them playing around and you exchanging some words with Billy, or telling jokes to each other; you decide that it’s time to go your way back home.
After you called the kids, Y/S/N ran almost instantly into your arms while Y/D/N decided to have a diva moment, refusing to leave the park.
Billy gets up from the bench and walks to wherever your daughter ran to. He peeks through the holes in the little castle’s walls and he smiles once he hears the little giggles from his girl. They play around for a bit, Billy kept running in a low speed behind his kid, while she ran with everything that she has, still giggling loudly around the park.
The people around looked at the cute daughter-father moment with a smile on their faces, just like you.
Billy really did change after your daughter was born. His patience grew like crazy and you couldn’t be more proud of him, specially after the many nights of him being upset before birth, questioning if “he would be like his father”.
After Billy finally picked his daughter up, you all start walking to the car. You hold your son in your arms as Billy unlocks the car, and then you two slide the front seats forward before placing the kids on their respective places.
Billy drove to the supermarket and when you got there, he decided to stay in the car with the kids while you went to buy the stuff that you needed.
You get out of the car and walk quickly into the supermarket. As you got in, you gave everyone a little smile before looking for what you’ll to do for dinner.
Once decided, you pay for the groceries and walk back to the car, where Billy listened to music that the kids would find interesting. You get back in, putting down the grocery bag next to your legs and Billy turns the car back on.
Once you get back home, you decide to start lunch, and after the many times Billy asked if you needed help, you told him ‘no’ for the last time with the smile, making him give up and go back to the kids.
(…)
It’s been a few hours, you all ate lunch and dinner was already in the oven, but you still needed to make the salad.
The doorbell rings and you walk quickly to the door, expecting to see your mom.
Maybe she can help you with the salad.
“Hey, mom. Can you just-” You start but stop once you look at who is really behind the door. “Max?”
Your mom stands awkwardly next to Max, not really wanting to have any contact with Billy’s family after what he had told her about them.
“Hey, Y/N” Max says and you at her confused, not knowing what to do with her presence.
“Where’s Billy?” Your mom asks and you look at her.
“Living room” You say quickly letting your mom in.
You stay in the middle of the doorway, looking at Max in shock and with a confused look in your face.
“It’s not that it’s not good to see you, Max, but…” You start and she gives you a little smile, “How did you find out where we live?”
“We were on our way to our ‘holiday destination’,” She says air quoting, “but Neil saw your mom in the supermarket, so he kind of… followed her here?” Max says, embarrassed with her words.
“Neil’s here?” You ask.
You can feel your breath already getting heavier and your heart beating faster.
The person you didn’t want to get in Billy’s life ever again, came back, and it’s probably just a few feet away from this building.
“Yeah, he and Susan made me come up here while he parked the car” Max says and you sigh.
Someone’s voice is heard in the end of the hallway and you visibly tense up. A few seconds later, Neil and Susan appear behind Max.
“It’s nice to see you again, Y/N” Susan says.
“I don’t know if I can say the same” You say back, leaning on the doorway.
“Why is that?” Neil asks and you glare at him.
“Usually when people come over to your house, they announce that they’re actually going to appear” You say and Neil stares back at you.
“Where’s the fun in that?” Susan says with a smile looking between Neil and you, “We came over after we heard that you were going to have dinner with your mom. We thought: why not have a family dinner?”
You are ready to say how they are not a part of this family and they can turn around and leave, but you hear footsteps behind you.
“Look who it is!” Neil says while looking at Billy, who stands behind you, frozen, “The son that disappear without a word 2 years ago!”
“Why are you here?” Billy asks while taking a step to stand in front of you, blocking any way of contact that his family could have with you.
“We wanted to know how you are… Since your disappearance” Neil pokes, taking also a step in front of Max.
“Well, I’m alive and well. And now that you know that: you must know how where the exit of the building is” Billy says and you stay still behind him.
“Mommy?” You hear a little voice whisper behind you and you close your eyes.
You turn around quickly and grab your daughter, taking her to the living room, hoping that Billy’s body was able to hide you both.
“Where’s daddy?” She asks you a little louder.
“He’s just talking to someone, he’ll come back, baby” You tell her and you look at your mom, who is struggling to keep your son entertained.
You put your daughter back on the ground and walk back to the door, where Neil is trying to get in.
“Alright, we won’t have dinner with you. Let’s just have a little talk” Susan says and you sigh.
The fact that these two are standing just a few meters away from your kids makes the mama-bear instinct in you, grow.
“Y/N, just talk to them. If they don’t leave after that, we’ll call the police” Your mom says behind you and Billy looks over at her.
“What about the kids, mom? I don’t want him close to them” You whisper at her and she sighs.
“I’ll stay with them, don’t worry. Just get this done with” She says.
Billy looks over at Neil, who is visibly trying to hear the conversation.
“We’ll talk in the kitchen” Billy tells them, still tense.
Billy moves over to the side, blocking the doorway of the living room from them and Neil makes his way in the apartment, looking like he owns it.
Billy closes the door and looks over at you. You stand beside him as you two walk to the kitchen.
“High chairs?” Neil questions and you look over at him.
“I babysit a lot” You lie quickly and everyone starts sitting down.
You sit down beside Billy and you hold his hand under the table almost immediately.
“To be honest, I wasn’t expecting you to still be together” Neil says and you nod, “How long have you to been together?”
“4 years” Billy says and Neil chuckles.
“Isn’t that fucking impressing for you, William? Are you sure you don’t have any side whores?” Neil teases and you look over at Max, who looked at the both of you with a sad and also embarassed look.
“Yeah, I’m sure” Billy says dryly.
“So, what made you two move out of Hawkins?” Susan asks and you tense up.
“I never liked Hawkins” Billy says and you look down at your hands.
“Why didn’t you go to California?” Susan asks.
“We didn’t have enough money and I just needed to get out of that shit hole as fast as I could” Billy answers.
“Your family helped with the money, right Y/N?” Neil asks you and you nod, “Your mom is here. Why isn’t she talking to us too?”
“Would you like her to speak too?” You ask and Neil nods. “I’ll get her, then”
You give Billy’s hand a little squeeze before getting up and going to the living room, where your mom is struggling again with trying to make the kids stay still and quiet.
“Mom” You say, “Neil wants to talk to you too, for some unknown reason”
“What about the kids?” Your mom asks in a whisper.
“I’ll watch them. Go talk to him, he probably doesn’t want to talk for long”
Your mom gets in the kitchen and you looked over at the kids, who played silently.
Your daughter lifts her coloring book at you, to show you her piece of art.
“It’s beautiful, baby” You whisper at her.
“Can I show, daddy?” She asks and you smile at her.
“You can. Just wait a little for him to come back, okay?”
“Why?” She asks with a frown in her face.
Please don’t throw a tantrum. Please don’t throw a tantrum. Please don’t throw a tantrum.
You kept saying that to yourself as she gets up, hitting her foot on the ground dramatically and crossing her arms.
“I want daddy to see” She says louder and you cover her mouth.
“He will, just wait” You tell her calmly and she groans into your hand.
You let her go and look over at your son, who is trying to show you something strange about his toy.
Y/D/N continues to look at you with a frown in her cute little face and you hear the chairs in the kitchen moving.
Your daughter starts walking to the living room’s door with her coloring book at the same time as your son got up and started running as well. You get up quickly and try to pick him up, but you then notice that Y/D/N is running away.
You pose the younger kid on the couch and run to the little girl.
“Not the time, Y/D/N” You tell her and she giggles.
She runs off the living room and you finally pick her up. You look up and Susan is standing in front of you with a shocked look.
“Neil?” She asks.
“Shit” You whisper.
“Bad word, mommy!” Your daughter whisper while giggling.
Neil walks out of the kitchen and looks over at you, and after some seconds the disgusting smirk on his face appears.
“What do we have here?” Neil asks and he looks at the little girl. “Aren’t you cute?”
Your daughter hides her face into the crook of your neck and Billy appears behind Neil.
“Are you going to tell me that she’s one of the kids that you’ve been babysitting?” Neil asks but before you can answer, he continues, “When she has curly blonde hair and blue eyes?”
You shut your mouth and Billy walks to the front door, opening it, he looks at his family members with the door wide open beside him.
“You can leave now” Billy says.
“How old is she?” Neil asks while taking a step closer to you, you take a step back right away.
“Leave!” Billy shouts and your daughter flinches in your lap, “Now” He continues and Neil looks at him.
Billy never raised his voice this high with the kids around.
“Alright” Neil scoffs while grabbing Susan’s hand and walking to the door, “Maxine, let’s go! They don’t want us here anyway”
“She can stay” Billy says while looking at Max, “But you two need to leave”
Neil decides to not say anything once your mom appeares from the kitchen and your son ran out of the living room to her arms. Neil actually tenses up when looking at her and steps out.
Billy starts closing the door before saying something to them, which you can’t hear it.
“If you dare to come close to this apartment ever again, be sure to remember what Y/N’s mom told you” Billy starts saying in a low voice. “And… If you simply try to come close to my girl and my kids, don’t expect me to not do something about it”
Neil looks at Billy in complete shock, not knowing what to say or what to do, while Billy closes the front door in his face, looking back at his family.
“Let’s have dinner?” Billy asks, trying to hide his speedy breathing.
(…)
You lay down on the bed beside Billy after changing into your choice of pajamas and you look at him while laying on your side.
“What’s wrong?” Billy asks you as he looks at you.
“It’s all my fault” You say with the feeling of weight in your chest chest, guilt, “It’s my fault for not grabbing Y/D/N and Y/S/N quick enough… I should’ve just-”
Billy cups your face and pulls you into a kiss so you could shut up. Once he pulls away and you look at him.
“It’s not your fault that we have a daughter that can’t sit still for more than 5 minutes. It’s not your fault that she chose to throw a tantrum on that moment. She’s a kid and she knows that she will get whatever she wants if I see that she’s upset.” Billy whispers into your lips while looking you in the eyes.
You stay silent while looking at Billy and he gives you a little smile.
“Plus…” Billy whispers, “Now the kids have an aunt”
You smile at him as the image of Max playing with the kids after dinner, sitting on the carpet and surrounded by toys; and the idea of your son loving to play on her lap or snuggle into her.
“Aren’t you scared of him coming back?” You ask, laying your head on your pillow.
“Yeah, but I don’t think he will” Billy says while looking down at you, “Not after what your mom told him”
“What did she say?” You ask curious.
“She started telling him how she will call the cops but Neil just laughed at that… Until she started saying how she left guns all over this house just to keep us safe” Billy says and your eyes widen, “She also told him how she won’t be scared to shoot him if she ever sees him close to the kids and- Other things of the sort”
“What?” You ask shocked but laughing at the same time.
“Yeah, your mom exploded in that kitchen” Billy says with a smile.
“Oh my god” You say while giggling.
You two laugh a few more moments before you became more and more tired by the second. You snuggle close to Billy after he turned off the lights and you two drift off to sleep, feeling safe in each other’s arms.

Soundrs: Iasos
My name is Iasos (pronounced ya’ sos). I am a music-creator. I specialize in heavenly, other-worldly, inter-dimensional, celestial music. Many in the New Age field consider me one of the original FOUNDERS of “New Age Music”, since I released my first such album in 1975.
Tumblr media
Here is a “Celestial Soul Portrait” of me, created by the artist ➜ Erial Ali.

What are your inspiration sources?
I have ONE inspiration source: A higher-dimensional being named Vista. He is an Elohim—a highly-evolved being from the Elemental Kingdom. I love him very much! At a certain point in my life, I had a FLASH-REVELATION-MEMORY, where I remembered that he and I had made an agreement to work together. We made this agreement before I was born. Basically, the agreement was: I would incarnate on earth. I would get up to speed on music. Then Vista would telepathically transmit musical visions into my mind. Then it was my job to RECEIVE these visions, and MANIFEST them (as actual air sound waves), and get them out publicly far and wide.
The whole PURPOSE of this collaboration, was to create and make publicly available, music that had a consciousness-raising, vibration-increasing, emotion-uplifting effect—for the purpose of helping people raise their vibrations, so they can stay with our planet, as it is also currently raising its vibrations. When I first started hearing this music in my mind, I originally thought of it as Paradise music. Now, I think of it as Inter-Dimensional music.
Tell us something about your workflow.
1. I receive (telepathically hear) a music vision from Vista.
2. I figure out the chords, melodies, etc.
3. Vista also gives me technical ideas on HOW to create the special-effects needed for that piece.
4. Vista also gives me a read-out on HOW this particular music will effect people in general (such as stimulate their 3rd eye, or open their heart chakra, etc.) His read-out on the effects on people ends up ALWAYS being 100 % accurate.
5. While I’m actually working on the piece, Vista is frequently whispering ideas into my mind, to help me manifest this music more effectively.
6. I create the music.
7. I get it out there—which, nowadays is easy, thanks to the internet.
How would creative rituals benefit your workflow?
No idea. I use no rituals in my work flow.
I simply FOCUS on music, and WORK on it.
How do you get in the zone?
I simply FOCUS on music, and WORK on it. CONCENTRATION is very VERY helpful in this regard, and Vista has taught me MUCH about concentration.
How do you start a track?
In the beginning.
Have you ever encountered a creative block?
Yes, but only ONCE in my life.
How did you deal with it?
When I graduated from Cornell University,
and decided to skip my post-graduate scholarship in Anthropology,
and instead, focus my career on music,
I moved to California to begin my music career.
After the first two months, I had a most frightening creative block
where all my creativity came to a halting stop. Terrifying!
So I PRAYED FOR CREATIVITY.
With all my Soul, I PRAYED FOR CREATIVITY.
And boy or boy, did that prayer get answered!!!!!
I had SO MUCH CREATIVITY, that I had to develop and evolve
“traffic control” for “ideas over-flow”—where many great new ideas
were all hitting me at once, and I tried to not lose some GREAT ideas,
because of new GREAT ideas coming to me.
But I did manage to develop an internal TRAFFIC CONTROL
for IDEAS OVER-FLOW.
Since then, I have never experienced a creative block.
In fact, now, my creativity is “on tap”, like a water faucet in a sink:
I turn it on,
when I want to receive creative ideas,
and I turn it off,
when I want to FOCUS on IMPLEMENTING ideas that I have already received.
MOST convenient arrangement!
(It’s distracting to receive new ideas, when you are FOCUSED on manifesting already-received ideas.)
youtube
Have you ever tried singing or using a voice in general? Is there a message that’s better conveyed through words?
WORDS/LYRICS are a left-brain logical mental communication.
The TONE OF THE VOICE and singing (varying the pitch) is a right-brain intuitive emotional communication.
The sound of a voice has embedded within it,
the person’s EMOTIONAL STATE and SPIRITUAL STATE—at the moment
the voice sounds are being made.
So the sound of the voice is a profoundly useful and flexible sound source.
Also, the voice is THE MOST FLEXIBLE MONOPHONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT!
It can do portamento (sliding between notes).
It has an enormous dynamic range (softest to loudest).
It can do very flexible rate-changing & depth-changing Vibrato.
And (most unique of all) it can morph through timbre changes (tone changes).
(Which is what happens when they sing words or change vowel sounds).
I personally do not have good voice control, so it’s rare for me to use my own voice.
But I have used my voice on two pieces:
I’ve used my voice throughout the entire piece ➜ “Lueena Coast - II”
from my ➜ “Inter-Dimensional Music” album.
On this piece I experimented with blending flute and voice together.
And, more recently, I used my voice (doing multi-tracked harmonies)
on one particular part (3:15-3:52) of ➜ “The Gates of Opal”
from my ➜ “Realms of Light” album.
I’ve also used two female singers - Sophia and Joie Favier -
on the second half (6:06 to end) of ➜ “The Diamond-Heart Center of  Creation” from my “Realms of Light” album.
Do you work exclusively solo (except for your collaboration with Vista)?
I typically/normally (about 99 % of the time) work alone.
However, there are two exceptions:
On my “Inter-Dimensional Music” album, I had Carl Schwindeman play electric guitar on ➜ “Maha-Splendor” and ➜ “Siren Shallows”. (This was all pre-1975)
Dear Carl is a MAGNIFICENT electric guitarist.
Vista typically guides me to steer clear of other musicians, since their influence usually tends to make the music more conventional and earth-like.
And so, WHY should I use other musicians when I can do it all myself?
(Analogy: Why should a great painter use another painter to help him paint his painting, when he can paint the whole painting himself?)
When multi-track recording became feasible, then working with other musicians became a preference, an option, but no longer a “necessity”.
So, the other exception happened more recently, when I was working on ➜ “The Diamond-Heart Center of Creation” from my “Realms of Light” album.
The basic idea, for the second half of this piece, is the idea of
EXTREME HARMONY amidst EXTREME DIVERSITY.
Well, I can create a lot of diversity all by myself, but Vista suggested that I actually use three other musicians for the second half of this piece, to further extend the “diversity”.
This was so unlikely Vista, that I responded:
“Am I hearing you right ????!!!????”
Yup, I was hearing him right.
So, following Vista’s suggestion (never a command), this piece also became graced by the exquisite musicianship of:
· Steven Kindler (violin)
· Sophia (female voice)
· Joie Favier (female voice)
You can hear how nicely all four of us blended together in the second half of this piece, beginning at 5:58.
How would you ideally like people to listen to your music? Like describe the ideal scenario (in the disco, at home, with headphones in nature, …)
Listen in a quiet non-disturbing environment.
Listen with good headphones and eyes-closed.
NEVER listen with speakers (because this blurs the 3D hologram that could otherwise be created in your mind, from using headphones).
Yes, it can sound “nice” with speakers, but you’re really missing the “3-D-hologram-in-your-mind” show that way, and just getting stereo.
Which DAW or software environment do you work in?
Steinberg Nuendo (the more professional version of Cubase).
Can you recommend any audio soft- and/or hardware?
I could spend DAYS talking on this one. Let me just say that the most under-appreciated and under-used piece of hardware-or-software is the vocoder, since it allows ANY sound to morph its timbre (tone) as easily, effortlessly, intuitively, immediately, as you can change the vowel sounds with your voice.
You were talking about a music school in your videos, can you elaborate on that? I’ve read in an interview that one branch is situated above Luxor. I understand this is not really a place where one does literally ‘go’?
It’s not on the physical dimension. It’s on the etheric dimension (just slightly higher than physical), and it’s about two miles above the surface of the physical dimension. So, if you want to get there, easiest way is to INTENT it just before falling asleep. But those that are adept at out-of-body travel or remove-viewing can possibly also get there.
It sounds very special and exclusive. Could you describe the ambience there, the kind of knowledge that is taught, maybe you know of other scholars that attend?
This “art school” above Luxor is directed by Serapis Bey, who is now an Ascended Master, but he used to be a human being on the physical dimension as the High Priest of The Ascension Flame Temple in Luxor, Egypt. BELIEVE ME, Serapis Bey is the only scholar you need when you go there. And this temple is for ALL the arts—not just music. Even architecture and sculpting. In terms of “exclusive”, YES, there are CRITERIA to get here (and to stay here).
CRITERIA to GET here:       Must be at least somewhat adept in whatever is your chosen art form.       Must be at least a bit psychically receptive, to receive ideas regarding this art form.       Must INTEND TO USE YOUR ART TO RAISE CONSCIOUSNESS and to BENEFIT/UPLIFT OTHERS !!!!! CRITERIA to STAY here:       They have LOADS of things to study when you get there. But if you just meander about, and don’t really                  exert yourself, and make a SOLID EFFORT to learn something, you will be asked to leave.       If you don’t have FOLLOW-THROUGH, you will be asked to leave: This means that if they manage to get some                   art “idea” into your physical mind here on earth, you won’t “drop the ball”, but instead you will stay FOCUSED on it until that “art idea” becomes manifest on the physical dimension.
What was the hardest thing to overcome in the beginning of your music career?
Your beliefs determine what you attract into your life.
So, in the beginning, I had the BELIEF that, initially it would be hard and an up-hill battle.
So, sure enough, I created for myself IMMENSE amounts of poverty and struggles of all kinds.
Eventually, I grew out of this (when my beliefs suggested that I had had enough of this).

What are your thoughts of people being able to listen to music telepathically in the future?
As our planet is now raising in its frequencies, and as our local star cluster (including our solar system) is entering an area of our galaxy that has WAY MORE high-frequency energy particles, these effects are ENLIVENING all life on earth—including minerals, plants, animals, and humans.
So animals are becoming WAY more conscious (and some pet-owners will attest that their pets are down-right telepathic).
And humans are raising into all kinds of enhanced psychic abilities, including:
· telepathic hearing
· telepathic seeing
· telekinesis (moving things at a distance)
· remote-viewing
· bi-location
· out-of-body conscious experiences
and more.
Every day, these abilities are becoming more and more prevalent to more and more people of earth.
And this is increasingly evident in the amount of channeled videos now populating YouTube.
So, yes, of course, more and more people are getting sensitive every day to “hearing music telepathically”.
Are there other ways for people to raise their vibration other than listening to music?
Who ever said music was “the only way”? Not me!
There are INFINITE WAYS to raise your vibration!
And music is merely a humble ONE of those INFINITE possible ways.
Can you share anything that Vista has taught you about concentration? Focusing seems very hard these days with smartphones and the Internet.
I condensed what I learned about CONCENTRATION from Vista into this article: ➜ “Concentration”.
Do you have a special template?
No. Each piece is WAY TOO UNIQUE, for any template to be of any use.
What effects do you put on the master channel?
None, other than adjusting the over-all volume level throughout the piece.
I definitely do NOT use any compression or multi-band compression, or EQ on the Master channel.
How do you arrange and finish a track?
I let my Heart and Intuition guide me—from the beginning, to the middle, to the end. To be more precise, when I am recording any particular part, I might have to record it many times before I get it “just right”.
So HOW do I know when I get it “just right”?
I listen to my HEART while listening to this recent recording, and NOTICE how my Heart feels about it.
If my Heart has an uneasy feeling about it, I try once again to record it.
If my Heart has a comfortable relaxing “Ahhhh” feeling, then I know I got it, and I then proceed to the next part that needs to be recorded.
How do you deal with unfinished projects?
I have never experienced an “unfinished project”, so I have no idea.
How do you store and organize your projects?
In my computer, using a logical lay-out of folders and sub-folders. (Don’t all musicians do it this way?)
How do you take care of studio ergonomics?
Ah, ergonomics is an EXTREMELY important issue!!!
I FOCUS very strongly on MAXIMIZING the man/machine interface.
For example, many keyboardists optimize space (many keyboards on the same one keyboard rack) rather than optimizing ergonomics (having many foot pedals for just-ONE keyboard).
I’m not interested in optimizing space.
I’m interested in optimizing the man/machine interface:
For example, I might simultaneously have five channels of information between me and the keyboard:
      1. Left hand =>  mod wheel and other controllers
      2. Right hand =>  music notes on the keyboard
      3. Left foot =>  mod pedal -or- portamento on/off switch
      4. Right foot =>  volume pedal
      5. Mouth =>  breath controller (typically assigned to Vibrato-depth)
Tell us something about your daily routine, how is your day structured, how do you make room for creativity?
In the ancient Mystery Schools, they always did their important teachings at night. Why? Because the influence of the sun is to keep you grounded and earth-bound. Whereas, the night allows for consciousness to get much more spacey, out-there, and inter-dimensional.
So, in the morning,
I wash up.
I meditate.
I deal with emails.
I go out and do mundane business (like going to a food store or bank or post office).
Then, at night, I FOCUS on my music and WORK on it.

Share a quick producing tip.
For ANY type of complex project, it is extremely useful to use your mind
as a zoom-lens, where you can ZOOM-OUT to get the over-view,
and then ZOOM-IN to see the details on just one part of the project.
Creation Technique of “Cycling between Zooming Out and Zooming In”
With sufficient effort, self-control of your thoughts allows you to use your mind like a controllable zoom lens for your thoughts:
Zooming Out - (fish-eye lens)
   for the over-view,
for seeing the inter-relations between all the parts,
for grasping intuitively all the steps necessary &
the optimum order of their execution.
Zooming In - (telephoto lens)
for seeing just one small part in tremendous living detail,
for understanding in great detail what needs to be done for this part.
             For concentrating all your thoughts
to powerfully manifest & materialize just this one little part.
Manifesting any complex reality can occur most effectively, effortlessly, and quickly through this
Technique of Cycling between Zooming Out and Zooming In:
To manifest or materialize any reality,
First you Zoom-Out to get the over-view.
To understand how all the parts fit together - their inter-relations.
To understand what needs to be done and
the order in which these steps need to be done.
   After grasping the whole,
you create a MANIFESTATION SEQUENCE -
A Sequence of Steps - to materialize your project in the most logical & efficient manner.
Then you determine the very next step that needs to be done -
whether it is a momentous step or a casual simple one.
Then, when you have clearly determined the next step in manifesting,
you shift from Zooming Out to Zooming In (like switching from wide-angle to telephoto) - on this next step!
You Zoom-In by concentrating all your thoughts only on
the one next step that needs to be done!
During this phase, you do not scatter your thoughts
by considering the entire plan or by thinking about other steps.
With the thought-force of all your mind focusing on just this next step,
you begin to intuitively grasp and understand this reality in very great detail.
You increasingly understand what needs to be done and the best order in which to do these things.
You are understanding the microcosm of how all the parts fit in—within this bubble of reality.
With all your thoughts focused on just this next step,
with the tremendous manifestation-thought-power this accumulates,
             you easily and quickly realize
what needs to be done and how to do it,
                       and then you do it!
(Once again, Concentration does to thoughts what a lens does to light.)
Once all the steps within this microcosm are finished, you once again Zoom-Out—Ah yes, the over-view. It has changed now, because one step has been fulfilled since last time we viewed the over-pattern.
Again, while zoomed out on the whole,
we quickly and irresistibly begin intuiting and understanding the full reality,
noticing the interrelations between all the parts,
realizing in great detail what needs to be done,
and then realizing what needs to be done next.
Once contemplation of the entire reality reaches a “ripe understanding”,
the NEXT STEP becomes “crystal clear”.
Once this step has been determined, we Zoom-In once again, on this next step,
and repeat this process of grasping, understanding, determining, and doing.
And when fully accomplished, we again Zoom-Out to see once again
the full picture—seeing all the patterns and how they interact.
This contemplating eventually inevitably “ripens” your grasp
of what needs to be done.
And then your grasp of the next thing that needs to be done.
Once the NEXT STEP is clear, then we again Zoom-In
with the conscious Intention to focus the full power of all our thoughts
entirely on only the next step.
This concentrated thought acts like a potent seed
quickly blooming and physicalizing its pattern,
by simply fulfilling that next step.
And so the cycle continues. Eventually, you Zoom-out to realize that
your entire project is now exquisitely complete.
To manifest with the grace of effortless efficiency,
cycle through zooming in and zooming out—
zooming out to grasp the whole and determine the next logical step,
and zooming in to do that next step.

9/27/2010-PCW Night of Champions: PCW Rewind
PCW Night of Champions PCW Hall Archbold, OH Monday September 27th, 2010 Host: Johnny Suave
Loud PCW chant as the show begins.  ‘The Voice of PCW’ Johnny Suave welcomes everyone to PCW Night of Champions.
Johnny Suave and his life size cardboard cut-out of Shania Twain
*flute and clarinet flourish*
Two men come out and unroll a white carpet to the ring steps. Dancers then dance. Ballet dancers…ballet? Little children walk up the white carpet and drop rose petals. Someone lets loose some pigeons…not sure just how they’ll get out of the building.  The crowd stands as PCW CEO Barack Obama appears.  Behind Obama walks Joe Biden.
Obama and Biden climb into the ring accompanied by Hillary Clinton and Rahm-bo aka Rahm Emanuel.
Obama’s out because of the demands made by Axis of Evil leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
*ominous music plays*
Ahmadinejad, accompanied by Khalid-El, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez with Fernando Venezuela, and North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il with Byung Hyung Kang, walk to the ring to a chorus of boos.
Ahmadinejad and the rest of the AoE climb into the ring.  Ahmadinejad states he’s come to PCW to correct an injustice.  An injustice towards one of his wrestlers that he feels needs to be addressed.  Ahmadinejad complains that his wrestler, Khalid-El, is being passed over for a title shot in favor of a woman.  He holds up a photo of Jill-Berg and turns to Obama.  He calls it an outrage that this…woman…gets a shot at the PCW title instead of Khalid-El.   Ahmadinejad then adds that this is to be expected from a country hose government orchestrated the 9/11 attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime. The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view.
At that point, Obama, Biden, HRC, and Emanuel leave the ring in protest as the crowd boos Ahmadinejad.
Ahmadinejad adds that the attack could have been the work of terrorists, supported by the U.S., which “took advantage of the situation” as more boos rain in.  He again demands justice for Khalid-El and a title shot and wants his answer now.  Then Ahmadinejad finally realizes that Obama et al have long since left the ring area and heads off to search for him.
Paige McGillicutty
Backstage, Paige McGillicutty talks with Triple R.  He, too, complains.  He doesn’t want to waste the time to wrestle Jill-Berg when it’s clear that he’ll wipe the ring up with her.
Kimber Marshall
Kimber Marshall introduces the first match of the night.
MATCH #1 FOR THE PCW TELEVISION TITLE Ken Worth- The American Trucker (I-American Heartland) (c) w/ Tequila Sheila vs. Doug ‘King Kong’ Kingman (R)
Summary Big PCW chant before the bell. Kingman and the American Trucker did some nice back and forth counter wrestling early. Kingman tried to use his power moves while Worth was effective in countering.  Worth armdragged Kingman to the floor. Worth whipped Kingman into the steel guardrail. Worth nailed a missile dropkick off the top. Kingman came back with a lariat. Worth came back with a spinning kick, which connected after Kingman ducked twice and Worth kept spin kicking.  Kingman went for a combination but was thwarted by Tequila Sheila and his steel blender.  Back in the ring, Worth hit a North Star Press for a two count.  Worth nailed a superkick but Kingman escaped a Jake Brake attempt.  Kingman nailed the Combination but Worth kicked up. Kingman went to the top and motioned for the elbow, then missed when Tequila Sheila came over and pushed him off.
Kingman then took control, working on Worth’s arm. Worth came back with a bulldog out of the corner. Kingman came back to choke him against the ropes. Kingman went to the ropes and came off but Worth tried to kick him. Kingman caught the boot and went for an elbow but Worth moved. They traded punches in the center. Worth came back with a flying forearm. Worth went for the Jake Brake but Kingman avoided it and hit the rolling Samoan Drop for a two count. Kingman missed the top rope swanton. Worth nailed the Jake Brake and scored the pin.
WINNER AND STILL PCW TELEVISION CHAMPION: Ken Worth- The American Trucker @ 15:20
Suave notes that the guile and experience of Ken Worth comes out on top of the brute power of Doug Kingman.
Paige McGillicutty has Jill-Berg with her.  Berg dismisses Ahmadinejad’s complaints about her.  McGillicutty asks if she has any concerns about the Axis of Evil interfering in the match.  Berg says no and brings out Daisy Cutter-Bomb.  Suave happily notes that DCB returns to PCW after a lengthy absence and mutters something about absence…or was it abstinence… making the heart fonder.  Berg says she’s confident that Daisy Cutter-Bomb will watch her back against Triple R.
MATCH #2 FOR THE PCW TAG TEAM TITLE The Kings of Old School: Ricky Michaels and Marty Lane (c) w/ ‘Rahm-Bo’ Rahm Emanuel (D) vs. The International Hit Squad: ‘Foul Pole’ Andy Golatta and Daniel-San w/ Mrs. Miyagi (I)
Suave states it’s the Democrats versus the true Independents in this battle as Golatta and Daniel-San have not joined a faction to date.
Summary Ricky Michaels took the mic before the match. Big “PCW” chant. Michaels said that “These people are ready.” He told Golatta and Daniel-San that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time because they were the most hardcore team in PCW.  He said that if there’s one thing that Kings of Old School does better than anyone else, it was giving their people what they want to see- the Democrats in the victory column.  Fans began chanting for Golatta and Daniel-San which pissed the Kings off.  Golatta and Daniel-San attacked them from behind. The Kings came back and tossed them to the floor. They brawled on the floor and the aisle. Fans chanted PCW.  Golatta took a camera from a cameraman and then shot Michaels as he was out on the floor. Golatta and Lane returned to the ring with Golatta drilling him with a back elbow. Lane came back with a swinging neckbreaker.
Daniel-San tagged in and cleaned house.  He teased a Cattle Mutilation after a backdrop but Lane dove out of the ring.  Daniel-San followed him and slammed Lane facefirst into the canvas.  Rahm Emanuel got involved and helped Lane cut off Daniel-San.   They returned to the ring and Lane reversed a whip and sent Daniel-San hard into the buckles, then drilled him into the mat.  Daniel-San was choked against the ropes with help from Emanuel.  Lane came off the ropes and dropped an elbow. Lane cinched in a side chinlock.  This time, Mrs. Miyagi intervened, distracting Lane while Daniel-San came back with a back kick.  Michaels now in the ring.  He grabs Mrs. Miyagi and tosses her out of the ring.   Lane with a forearm to Daniel-San and went back to the side chinlock.
Michaels tagged in with a slingshot senton.  The Kings of Old School worked Daniel-San over in their corner.  Golatta tagged in and cleaned house.  Golatta got a table and set it up as Lane returned to the ring.   Both teams brawled in the ring with cooking sheets and a trash can/lid.  Daniel-San got busted open.  Daniel-San played the face in peril as Michaels and Lane took turns beating on him in the corner.  Golatta finally got the hot tag in.  Golatta gets a two count and tags Daniel-San back in as Lane tags in Michaels. Daniel-San fires off some lightning kicks. Michaels locks in an armbar, but Daniel-San reaches the ropes for the break.  Daniel-San is able to lock in a single leg crab, but Marty Lane threatens to get in the ring and the breaks the hold. Lane charges in anyway and Golatta and Daniel-San set up a double tree of woe and finish off the FBI with a killer baseball slide drop kick!  The Kings attempt to regroup but Mrs. Miyagi goes up top and surprises everyone with an insane Asai Moonsault to Michaels and Lane outside of the ring!  Golatta gets back in the ring but Emanuel pulls him out. Golatta sucks up the strength to get back in the ring as Lane heads in for a two count on Golatta. Lane sets up Golatta in a camel clutch and Michaels dusts him off with a drop kick to the face. Daniel-San enters and kicks the crap out of Lane.  That sends him out the ring. Michaels gets a 2 count on Daniel-San who’s now legal.  The Kings tries to double team Daniel-San but he nails them with a reverse flying elbow.  Golatta enters the ring and he and Daniel-San set up a stereo sleeper submission hold.  Emanuel gets in the ring and Golatta and Daniel-San drop him with a twin drop kick.  Lane and Michaels capitalize and ambush Golatta and Daniel-San.  Golatta is sent out the ring over the ropes and into first row.  Lane and Michaels hit a double fisherman driver on Daniel-San and get the 3 count.
WINNER AND STILL PCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Kings of Old School: Ricky Michaels and Marty Lane (D) @ 24:17
Post match, Emanuel drops an F-Bomb on Golatta while Lane and Michaels continue their beatdown of Daniel-San.
Mrs. Miyagi climbs to the top turnbuckle again and out of nowhere runs down the Leader of the PCW Competition Committee Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi tries to pull Mrs. Miyagi off the top rope.  Then…
THUMP

THUMP-THUMP-THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP-THUMP-THUMP
The video screen goes to just outside a dressing room in the back. A police escort is waiting at the door. One of the policemen knocks on the door.
Policeman – Ms. Berg.   It’s time.
The door opens and four large male bodybuilding types walk out of the dressing room surrounding a petite woman, her male assistant, Jerry, and Daisy Cutter-Bomb.  Berg and Daisy run towards the ring.
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP-THUMP-THUMP
The crowd chants “JILL-BERG…JILL-BERG…”
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP-THUMP-THUMP
“JILL-BERG…JILL-BERG…”
Jill runs up to Pelosi.  RED MIST IN THE EYES!  Jill-Berg with a buzzsaw kick and Pelosi is down.  Emanuel over…Daisy Cutter-Bomb cuts him off.  Kick to the balls…Daisy Cutter Powerbomb!
Here comes Triple R with a steel chair!  He goes after Jill-Berg.  Daisy punches the chair into Triple R’s face.  Jill-Berg with a buzzsaw kick into the chair.   Triple R down.  Daisy drags him up…DAISY CUTTER POWERBOMB ON THE FLOOR!  Suave thinks he’s dead.
Pelosi is trying to get the red mist out of her eyes as Daisy throws Triple R into the ring.
MATCH #3- WINNER GUARANTEED PCW TITLE SHOT AT EXTREME ELECTION 2010 Jill Berg (R) vs. Triple R (D)
Daisy in the ring.  She picks up Triple R…SPEAR!  Daisy drags him up…JACKHAMMER SLAM!  She pulls him up…Jill Berg with another buzzsaw kick.  Cover…1…2…3!
WINNER: Jill Berg (R) @ :33
Pelosi finally clears her eyes and sees what just took place.  She cries out ‘NOOOOOOO!’ as Berg points at her.  Pelosi stomps up and down outside the ring.
Suave screeches ‘AXIS OF EVIL’ as Khalid-El delivers a vicious forearm shiver to Jill Berg’s back.  The big 7 footer Fernando Venezuela spins Daisy around and grabs her by the throat.  CHOKE SLAM!   Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and Kim Jong-Il walk down with big smiles on their faces as Khalid-El, Venezuela, and Byung Hyung Kang stand over the fallen Berg and Daisy.
Backstage, Paige McGillicutty has rock star Katy Perry.  Perry plays the video of her duet with Sesame Street’s Elmo that the children’s show decided not to play due to the low-cut dress she was wearing.
Suave: “Yeah.  It’s because she’s got a big rack and it showed even though Perry was wearing a flesh colored cover underneath.
Suave: “Wait…I see what the problem is.  Elmo is naked!
Quick recap of the ‘One Man Hollywood A-List’ Stone Chism’s (D) win over Kevin Scott (R) last week.
MATCH #4 FOR THE PCW TITLE ‘The One Man Hollywood A-List’ Stone Chism (D) vs. Yamamoto Tanaka (c) w/Reika Kisaurgi (D)
Chism took the mic and said it was great to be back in PCW with all of his fans.  The crowd, of course, booed him in return.  Chism told them you’re going to enjoy the best wrestler in the house and watch the referee count 1-2-3 for him.
Summary They locked up but Tanaka shoved Chism down to the mat. They locked up again but Tanaka kicked him in the gut and began beating on Chism.   Chism came back and tossed Tanaka to the floor. Chism did the flip off the apron to the floor. Chism tossed a bunch of weapons into the ring. He then took chairs from the front row and tossed them into the ring. Chism beat Tanaka with punches against the rail outside but Tanaka nailed him. Chism signalled for taking Tanaka out into the crowd but was picked up and crotched on the railing. Tanaka whipped him into the rail, then beat him with a chair. They battled back into the ring.   Tanaka wedged a chair in the corner but Chism nailed Tanaka several times with a trash can to the head. Tanaka finally punched the can into Chism and took him out.  Tanaka grabbed a broom and nailed Chism with it. Chism was busted open by this point. Tanaka trashed Chism with weapons to the head. Tanaka began cranking on Chism’s neck and wrenched it as Chism looked to the crowd for support. They rallied him but he was caught with a clothesline. Tanaka drilled Chism in the gut with a chair, then did it a second time.  Tanaka went to do the Earthquake splash but Chism crotched him on a chair.
Chism fired up on offense and nailed a high cross bodyblock for a two count. Chism nailed Tanaka with a chair. He whipped Tanaka into the corner but was caught and sent into the chair that was positioned there. Tanaka chokeslammed Chism for a two count.  Tanaka went to the top rope but was caught by Chism and tied upside down to the tree of woe.   Chism nailed him with a trash can. He went to the corner and hit a running dropkick into the corner.  Tanaka nailed the Choke Slam but only got a two count.  Tanaka went to the outside and poured thumbtacks across the mat.  Tanaka nailed Chism again and pulled him up.   He shoulderblocked Chism through the ropes, then powerbombed him into the tacks.  Chism screamed out in pain.  Tanaka took him back to the ring and climbed up the corner turnbuckle.  Chism tried to fight out but in the end…JAPANESE SUPERDESTROYER!  Tanaka rolled onto Chism and scored the pin.
WINNER AND STILL PCW CHAMPION: Yamamoto Tanaka (D) @ 18:50
Tanaka and Reika celebrated together in the ring as the show went off the air.

A Microchip PIC based USB sound card
INTRODUCTION
The idea for creating a USB sound card based on a PIC came from discussions of other people creating one on the Microchip USB forum. The hardware of the card is based on all Microchip products. The software uses a modified version of the Microchip USB framework which is interrupt driven instead of the traditional polling. The device is a USB composite device. The first device is an implementation of the USB Audio 1.0 interface and the other device is a custom interface based on a HID interface. The purpose of the custom interface is for programming the device serial number, upgrading the firmware, and in the future any other configuration that isn’t supported directly by USB Audio 1.0. In a previous version, WinHTTP was oringally used. After testing the card for awhile, I decided it's better to not require drivers for the card especially since the HID/WinUSB interface is rarely used.
The sound card runs at a sample rate of 48KHz, 32KHz or 24KHz selectable by the OS with 12 bits per sample. The quality approaches commercial grade as the sample rate is higher then CDs. 44.1KHz was not implemented due to the difficultly and additional processing overhead. The sample rates that were implemented are all a multiple of the 1ms USB frame meaning each frame sends the same amount of data. 44.1KHz requires the card to handle different amounts of data each frame requiring more advanced buffering and synchronization techniques and more processing power. Microsoft Windows automatically resamples the 44.1KHz audio found on CDs to 48KHz.

The hardware for the sound card is based on the Microchip PIC18F2550 USB processor. The processor is clocked at 48MHz which is the maximum rate for this processor and is also a multiple of the audio sample rate. The microcontroller is connected via the SPI port to duel Microchip MCP4822 12bit D/A converters. Volume control is implemented by the Microchip MCP41010 variable res-- ders are controlled via SPI by the microcontroller via a dedicated bit-banged SPI port. The purpose of using a separate port is so that volume control can run inside the processor at a different priority level then sample output. The Microchip MCP6022 op-amp is used as an output driver.
The MCP6022 op-amp has an output drive capacity large enough to power a pair of cheap headphones without much distortion. The resistance of my headphones is approximately 25ohms. The op-amps are not powerful enough to drive speakers which are usually 8 or 4 ohms. The MCP41010 and MCP6022 can output near rail to rail voltage although some nonlinear effects can be heard if the volume is too loud or the signal is near the minimum or maximum. Since USB has a single rail 5V power supply, the sound card only uses a positive rail instead of a traditional duel rail system which is how standard 16bit PCM is encoded. As a result, the signal needs to be biased in software to 2.5V.
One terminal of the MCP41010 is connected to the signal for that channel and the other terminal is connected to the midpoint or bias voltage. Previous versions of this sound card connected the second terminal to GND. The advantage of connecting the terminal to the bias is that as the volume is changed, the signal grows or shrinks around the midpoint rather then shifting toward GND. The signal is kept as far away from the rails as possible.
SOFTWARE
The software for USB Audio Streamer is composed of several components. These are the audio card firmware, a C++ library that wraps HID and WinUSB, and a command line utility for flashing. I am giving out the source code as a learning tool for other people. I don’t care what you do with it but I am not responsible for any damage that might happen from using it. NOTE: Improper use of hardware or software may cause serious injury or death.:)
I use Visual Studio 2005 Professional but I have heard that the project will build with Visual Studio Express. To build the project it is necessary to download the latest version of the WDK to get the headers and library files for HID and WinUSB. The default directories in Visual studio need to be modified to point to the directories of these resources in the WDK. If you use Visual Studio Express it's necessary to recreate all the project files and change the default calling convention to _stdcall.

Source Code Modules
A trick is used when building the sound card firmware since it is two separate projects that need to be merged together. Build the boot directory first, which is the code responsible for upgrading the firmware. Then build the sound card firmware itself. Before flashing, goto Configure/Settings/Program Loading and clear the option to clear program memory upon loading a new program. After the sound card firmware is build, goto file/import and import the hex file for the boot loader. The two projects will be merged together without any cutting and pasting. At this point, it is OK to flash the PIC. Note the bootloader is only necessary for flashing firmwares without a ICD/Pickit. When debugging actual card functionality, it's ok to leave out the bootloader. This Requires no modifications to the sounce or linker scripts. Simply don't merge the boot loader into the image
SOUND CARD FIRMWARE
The sound card firmware is based on a modified version of the Microchip USB framework. The framework has been collapsed into a single source file with callbacks between the framework and the main code. The framework( in my case it’s more of a library ) has been modified to use interrupts instead of the traditional polling method. Instead of calling USBDriverService in a loop, this function is called whenever the USB interrupt fires. The library is response for handling control requests on endpoint 0. The framework handles standard USB requests and the body code is responsible for handling class specific USB requests nonstandard requests. The body code is responsible for handling I/O on all other endpoints.
USB Audio Streamer is a composite device of a USB Audio 1.0 device and a custom HID interface. With USB Audio 1.0 all of the sample data is transferred through a separate endpoint then control requests. Control requests such as controlling volume is through endpoint 0(the control endpoint.) HID uses it’s own endpoint. Since each function of the card has a separate endpoint, each of the functions can be implemented at a different priority level without preemption problems. The PIC18F2550 has two interrupt priorities plus the main handler. This gives a total of three priorities. Since playing sound data is the most critical function it was given the highest priority. Next comes control endpoint requests which include the standard requests plus Audio 1.0 requests. Since these functions have relatively low timeouts, these were assigned low priority. HID functions are in the main body code because actions such as querying the firmware version, settings the serial number, or flashing the firmware are not time critical at all.

The low priority interrupt handler performs two functions. The first is to check the ISO endpoint through the SIE for data. If data is available the buffer is passed to the high priority interupt code and next buffer that makes up a cicular queue is returned to the SIE. The buffers are in the USB ram of the PIC so that the data is not copied between buffers. In Audio 1.0, the host always sends exactly the number of samples to fit in a frame which is 196, 128 or 96 bytes depending on the sample rate used.
The second function of the low priority interrupt handler is SOF(start of frame) processing. Upon receiving the SOF, the PIC changes the current play buffer to the next available buffer and starts timer 2 which is the sample clock. Timer 2 is always reset on the SOF to keep the sample clock synchronized when clock drift is present. If the SOF occurs before the current buffer is played, playback is changed to the next buffer. If the SOF occurs after the buffer is finished, the last sample is stretch. Since the clock drift is normally small, most of the time samples are not dropped. The time of the last sample is slightly different. This is not noticeable in the audio and is only barely noticeable when playing SIN waves.
The high priority interrupt is driven off timer 2 and has the function of formating the data in the format required by the converter and loading the D/A converter through the SPI port of the PIC. The samples are converted from 16 bits signed PCM to 12 bit unsigned and the endianess is swapped. After the buffer is finished, timer 2 is stopped so that if the clock of the card is ahead of the host, the last sample is stretched.
AUDIO 1.0 REQUESTS
All Audio 1.0 requests are handled via an extension of the USB framework. The low priority interrupt calls USBDriverService which services the control request. If the request is a standard USB request, the request is handled by the framework. If it isn't, the framework calls back into the main code which examines the request. If the request is recognized, the main code claims the request. If the request is a read request, the main body sets the address of a variable to sent to the host. If it's a write request, a variable is written to but the firmware sets a completion routine to be called at the end of the request.
The card only handles two types of requests which are volume control and sample rate selection. The current value of both of these is stored in a global variable. If the volume is adjusted, new values are loaded into the variable resistors. If the sampling rate is adjusted, a new period is loaded into PR2 for timer 2.
HID REQUESTS AND HOST SOFTWARE
The main body code polls endpoint 1 for custom requests in a loop. If the request is anything other then setting the serial or flashing the firmware, the request is handled in the main body code. Otherwise, the processor is put into a special programming mode. Upon entering this mode, all interrupts are disabled and the USB library is used in the traditional polling mode as program memory blocks are moved from the host. Flashing the microcontroller is reusable code that is used for multiple projects.
The host side consists of a C++ library that wraps HID and a command line C utility for configuring the card. These utilities are used for multiple projects and will be discussed in a separate topic.
TESTING 123...
The USB Audio Streamer uses instrumentation grade analog components so frequency response is not a major concern. The main concern is noise and signal accuracy due to nonlinear properties of the components, jitter, and that the sample clock can drift from the USB SOF clock.
To measure the accuracy, I used Audicity to play 20 second sin tones of various frequencies and recorded the output on a Dell laptop with a built-in 24bit 96KHz Sigmatel sound card. The assumption is that the 24bit sound card is much better then the USB hardware. The output was recorded with Audicity and the spectrum of the signal plotted. The idea is that perfect hardware would have a single peak at the tone’s frequency and nothing elsewhere. The experiment was performed with both the USB Audio Streamer and a commercial 16 bit USB sound card the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage. In all cases, a 48KHz sample rate was used. In the follow graphs, the Audio Streamer is on the left and the Turtle Beach is on the right.

Cards With Sound
As can be seen, the accuracy of both devices decreases as the tone’s frequency is increased. Up to about 12KHz, both devices have approximately the same noise floor. At 12KHz though, the Audio Streamer’s performance begins to rapidly diminish. Both devices are isosynchronous adaptive, but apparently the Turtle Beach has better drift control algorithms. At 20KHz, even the Turtle Beach has noise of -40dB which is not that good. It seems that designing a high quality USB audio device is very difficult even for commercial developers.

The iPad Air is a tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on October 22, 2013, and was released on November 1, 2013. Part of the iPad line of tablet computers, the iPad Air features a thinner design than its predecessors with similarities to the contemporaneous iPad Mini 2.
The iPad Air’s successor, the iPad Air 2, was announced on October 16, 2014, with the first generation iPad Air being discontinued on March 21, 2016.[6]
Features[edit]
Software[edit]
The iPad Air launched with version 7 of the iOS operating system.[7] iOS 7 introduced a major aesthetic redesign of the operating system, departing from skeuomorphic elements such as green felt in Game Center, wood in Newsstand, and leather in Calendar, in favor of flat, colorful design. Jonathan Ive, the designer of iOS 7’s new elements, described the update as “bringing order to complexity”, highlighting features such as refined typography, new icons, translucency, layering, physics, and gyroscope-driven parallaxing as some of the major changes.[8]
It can act as a hotspot with some carriers, sharing its Internet connection over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB, and also access the Apple App Store, a digital application distribution platform for iOS.
The iPad Air comes with several applications, including the Safari web browser, Mail, Photos, Video, Music, iTunes Store, App Store, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Game Center, Photo Booth, and Contacts.[9] The iPad Air can optionally sync content and other data with a Mac or Windows computer using iTunes. Although the tablet is not designed to make phone calls over a cellular network, users can use a headset or the built-in speakers and microphone to place phone calls over Wi-Fi or cellular using a VoIP application, such as Skype.[10] The device has a dictation application. This enables users to speak and the iPad types what they say on the screen. An Internet connection is required, as the speech is processed by Apple servers.[11] Apple also began giving away its iLife (iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband) and iWork (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) apps with the device.

iOS 9 was released in 2015. A major focus for the iPad was the introduction of three new multitasking features[12] The Air supported two of these features, called Slide Over and Picture in Picture. Slide Over allows a user to “slide” a second app in from the side of the screen in a smaller window, and have it display information alongside the initial app. Picture in Picture allows a user to watch a video in a small, resizable, moveable window while remaining in another app. The third feature, dubbed Split View (which allows the user to run two apps simultaneously in a 50/50 view), was not supported by the device.[citation needed ]
In June 2019, Apple announced that it would drop support for the iPad Air with the release of iPadOS 13 in September 2019.[13][14] The iPad Air is supported to iOS 12, with the latest 12.5.4 update released on June 14, 2021.
Design[edit]
The iPad Air marked the first major design change for the iPad since the iPad 2; it has a thinner design that is 7.5 millimeters thick and has a smaller screen bezel similar to the iPad Mini. Apple reduced the overall volume for the iPad Air by using thinner components resulting in a 22% reduction in weight over the iPad 2.[15] It retains the same 9.7-inch screen as the previous iPad model.[16] The new front-facing camera is capable of video in 720p HD, includes face detection, and backside illumination. The rear camera received an upgrade as well; now being called the iSight camera, in addition to the same functions as the front camera it also contains a 5MP CMOS, hybrid IR filter and a fixed ƒ/2.4 aperture.[17][18] The device was available in space gray and silver colors.[citation needed ]
As with previous generations, Apple continued to use recyclable materials. The enclosure of the iPad Air was milled from a solid block of aluminum making it 100% recyclable. The iPad Air is also free of the harmful materials BFRs and PVC.[15]
Hardware[edit]
The iPad Air inherits most of the same hardware components from the iPhone 5S, such as its Apple A7 system-on-chip and Apple M7 motion processor. The A7 present in the iPad Air is slightly different however, in that it does not use a PoP design which stacks the RAM on top of the SoC.[19] It also features a metal heat spreader to compensate for the slightly faster clock speed and better thermal management. The Air also includes a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera (iSight), a FaceTime HD front-facing camera, support for 802.11n, and an estimated 10 hours of battery life.[16] It boots faster than any previous iPad model.[20]
As with all previous generations of iPhone and iPad hardware, there are four buttons and one switch on the iPad Air. With the device in its portrait orientation, these are: a “home” button on the face of the device under the display that returns the user to the home screen, a wake/sleep button on the top edge of the device, and two buttons on the upper right side of the device performing volume up/down functions, under which is a switch whose function varies according to device settings, functioning either to switch the device into or out of silent mode or to lock/unlock the orientation of the screen.[21] It uses the same home button that was built in previous iPad models and therefore does not include a fingerprint scanner.
In addition, the WiFi only version weighs 469 grams while the cellular model weighs 478 grams – over 25% lighter than their respective predecessors.[21][22] The display responds to other sensors: an ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness and a 3-axis accelerometer to sense orientation and switch between portrait and landscape modes.[citation needed ] Unlike the iPhone and iPod Touch’s built-in applications, which work in three orientations (portrait, landscape-left and landscape-right), the iPad’s built-in applications support screen rotation in all four orientations, including upside-down. Consequently, the device has no intrinsic “native” orientation; only the relative position of the home button changes.[21]
The iPad Air was available with 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB[a] of internal flash memory, with no expansion option. Apple also sells a “camera connection kit” with an SD card reader, but it can only be used to transfer photos and videos.[21] As of the announcement of the iPad Pro 9.7-Inch on March 21, 2016, the iPad Air was discontinued.
All models can connect to a wireless LAN and offer dual band Wi-Fi support. The tablet is also manufactured either with or without the capability to communicate over a cellular network. The iPad Air (and the iPad Mini 2) cellular model comes in two variants, both of which support nano-SIMs, quad-band GSM, penta-band UMTS, and dual-band CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and B. Additionally, one variant also supports LTE bands 1–5, 7, 8, 13, 17–20, 25 and 26 while the other variant supports LTE bands 1–3, 5, 7, 8, 18-20 and TD-LTE bands 38, 39 and 40. Apple’s ability to handle many different bands in one device allowed it to offer, for the first time, a single iPad variant which supports all the cellular bands and technologies deployed by all the major North American wireless providers at the time of the device’s introduction.
The audio playback of the iPad Air is in stereo with two speakers located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Reception[edit]
Critical reception[edit]
The iPad Air received mainly positive reviews. Writing for AnandTech, Anand Lal Shimpi writes that the iPad Air “feels like a true successor to the iPad 4,” praising it for its reduced weight and size. Shimpi further states that the Air “hits a balance of features, design and ergonomics that I don’t think we’ve ever seen in the iPad.”[23] UK Editor-in-Chief of TechRadar, Patrick Goss, gave the iPad Air a positive review, giving praise to the A7 chip and camera upgrades, as well as the crisp and colorful display. He concludes by stating: “It’s hard to put into words how much Apple has improved the iPad, offering a stunning level of detail and power with a build quality that’s unrivalled.”[24] Christina Bonnington of Wired awarded the Air a rating of 8 out of 10, calling the performance “outstanding” and noting that high-definition video streams and gaming animations are “smooth and stutter free.” She also praised the loading speeds of Safari, the web browser.
Bonnington criticized the speakers for being slightly muddled.[25] Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak criticized the focus on decreasing size and weight rather than increasing storage space and stated that he did not want an iPad Air as it did not fit his personal needs.[26][27] Dave Smith of the International Business Times wrote that while the device was nice, it did not bring anything new to the iPad. Smith strongly criticized the lack of a fingerprint reader, and noted that the updates, such as the increased speed and the decreased size and weight, were only slight improvements.[28][29]
Commercial reception[edit]
The launch date for the iPad Air did not see as large of a turnout as usual for Apple products; however, this was expected by analysts due to the delayed release of the iPad Mini 2.[30] The Air sold out in Hong Kong two hours after becoming available online.[31]
