>>>a/n: This is my first attempt at writing bts smut! This is kind of unedited, now that I look at it again, but worry not, I’ll do the changes as soon as I can. I know its a tiny one shot, but if you guys like it enough, I’ll turn this into a series or a longer, completed one shot! :)
                                                               ~❋~
It’s in a motel room that you see Jeong-guk lying on the bed in his stone washed jeans, shirtless, lighting up a cigarette as he pushes his long, wavy locks away from his eyes. The blinds are lowered, blocking out the sun setting over the horizon.
He eyes you dreamily through the strands that stick to his forehead, hot and sweaty. He looks so delectable, bare chest heaving up and down, jeans teasingly pushed a bit lower than his waistline.
He perks up an eyebrow at you, asking for permission to smoke. You, leg dangling on the other side of the bed, with messy hair and dazed eyes, smirk at him and nod to the direction of the small balcony. He chuckles, as if pleased, moving the Marlboro under his canines before shifting his position to kiss you softly. You taste bitter alcohol on his lips, sweet love.
Moaning into the kiss, his hand finds a way to cup your cheek, thumb gently rubbing in circles as an apparent sign of affection. It's romantic before he pulls away, copying your smirk. You brush his hair back, smoothening the mane he was keeping because you thought it suited him. He notices the red garlands he imprinted you with, traveling from the crook of your neck to the area above your breast.
He grins, evilly.
"What're you looking at, doll?" he says, tilting your chin to match your eyes to his, knowing you were ogling him intently. He just wants to hear you say it. Every now and then he liked an ego boost.
"You, Jeong-guk." You liked the way you say his name, the way the syllables moved and rested on your tongue. He seemed to approve of that with a slight scoff.
He turns his back to you, before pulling up his jeans and heading out to the balcony. You stare at his toned back, almost tracing the muscles with your fingers as if it were a pattern you could memorise. Heat rising to your cheeks, you look away abashed, coming back to your senses. Squeezing your bare arms, it hit like cold ice that maybe the raven-haired man before you could never look beyond the longingness in your eyes that someday he might love you back.
He keeps the door ajar, and through that tiny slit you saw him standing, hands shoved inside his pockets, perhaps searching for his lighter. The sun had gone down, giving a dusk shade to his frame. Jeong-guk bent down, and you could tell that he was thinking – the way his elbows rested on the cool wrought iron bannister, him looking few years elder in the twilight.
You wished you knew what he was thinking. About you, about anything. He wasn’t one for many words, and all you really wanted was to know him better rather than glancing at him when he slept. You loved his soft exhales when he was asleep, how beautiful his parted lips looked when he breathed. He was like a forest whisper, filling the gap between you and him with thick, wordless silence.
You wanted to tell him, that every time your lips connect, the universe stops. Butterflies flutter as if lost in a crazy hurricane chase. That your adrenaline rushes like an exhilarating carnival ride, giggly smiles as if was he was some kind of sugar rush you were high on.
But whenever he moves away, you felt like a stranger in a home that was never yours to begin with. That the stars were always stars, never the ones that he promised to give you someday, and not even the ones he held in his chocolate brown orbs when he laughed.
You knew what you wanted was love, but the walls in Jeong-guk’s heart were too high up in his self-doubt.
                                                              ~❋~
Jeong-guk inhaled the cigarette and seeped in the smoke, the familiar hot electricity buzzing through his body just the way he likes it.
Nothing like a cigarette after a good fuck, Jeong-guk thought as he watched life go by below him – the decaying three-storey buildings, the hum of nightclubs opening up for the evening, couples laughing, the whirr of taxis going by.
Run down, two-star motels were never really his thing. He was used to five-star hotels, expensive nightclubs with people that were too ostentatious for his own good. But he liked the tackiness that motels offered, the raw and unkept feeling that made him stay grounded when he’s usually got too much smoke in his lungs, dirt in his hands and women in his pants to deal with.
In his twenty-two years, Jeong-guk measured his life out by the lines of his coarse hands. His mother’s death at a young age, bullying in middle school, and hearing a profusely number of expletives escape his father’s mouth every night for never being the ‘ideal son’. He stared at his hands, his rough, scruffy hands, and pondered how much women loved how rugged he was.
He remembered Seul-gi, who loved taking it fast and aggressive; Mi-rae, who’s moans tasted like honey to his ears when he thrusted into her. Sure, he missed the one-night stands when he didn’t have to give a damn about the women he slept with, when they would just take and leave. But he liked you better, especially now that even thinking about you would make his body jolt up, his feelings hitting harder than a bullet train.
You, you were different.
Fuck, he was already sporting a semi through his pants already. Jeong-guk pressed over his bulge, but it wouldn’t subside, not when he clearly remembers pumping his seed into your very womanhood passionately, hearing his name escape your lips, the way you stretched your neck to have him pepper kisses onto you, the delicious curve of your breasts, how warm and tight you felt when he was inside of you, the birthmark nestled near your thigh that you were embarrassed of revealing at first, the way you broke into high-pitched laughter when Jeong-guk spoke in his low baritone cause you thought it was cute, the way you rubbed his cheek softly with the back of your hand when he slept (or more like, when he pretended to, that is) , the smile you gave when you snuggled near his arms – fuck, that smile. That smile got him every time.
Well, this is bad sign.
Combing through his jet-black blades, he let his locks cascade down his face as he lets out a heavy exhale at his realisation. Jeong-guk couldn’t tell you how much he felt for you no matter how much he wanted to. Jeong-guk was introverted, he felt more than he said. He’d cemented walls around his heart for a long time, but maybe it’s time that he let those walls fall apart for you. That’s when he decided to take a decision before he could even think it thoroughly.
He yanked the door open, but stopped midway. Your bra strap was hanging loosely by your arm, head lolling over the headboard. If Jeong-guk’s alpha instincts hadn't kicked in, he would have charged at you like a wolf and devoured you, stuffing into you all the way. He was clearly drinking in your appearance, from the way the lingering smoke from the room to you, his ravening dressed in honey-coloured skin.
“Let’s go out,” Jeong-guk proclaimed, getting his crumpled and buttoning his white button-down t-shirt. Something in him just wanted to do something out of his heart. He knew it was unusual, doing things that normal couples would do. He saw you perked up on your bed, visibly surprised.
His mind was working fast, like a tape recorder left on fast forward.
Wait, stop–
“Why? Can’t we–“
Jeong-guk didn’t like being questioned. He remembered how his father was like that. Dark, firm, indisputable to the very word. Looks like he was really his son after all. The very thought of having to share genes with that dirty man drove Jeong-guk insane.
“Just cause,” Jeong-guk didn’t want to answer. He couldn’t roll his tongue to say the very words. He could feel his uptight, heavy ego breaking into the soft corner of his heart that he held for you. It was turmoil inside him. “Can you just get ready already?”
You were recollecting yourself, Jeong-guk saw how you tried to look for an answer in his eyes.
“Where are we going?” He knew this was coming. Jeong-guk seriously wanted to shut you up by smashing his lips roughly against yours, but looking at your softened features in the light and how delicate you looked, he stopped.
The old Jeong-guk would have berated him for taking such a brash decision, but Jeong-guk was never his old, stupid, impetuous self when he was with you. Maybe that’s why he felt different when he was with you, a magnetic attraction that failed to manifest with his other encounters beyond a Four Seasons hotel room some place in Seoul he couldn’t bother to remember.
“Guk?” You were holding his wrist now, tilting your head to match your eyes with his. Jeong-guk always noticed how your eyes always shone like glimmering pebbles in shallow waters whenever you spoke to him.
Where did you get the courage to love someone as broken as him? And why were you wasting your unconditional love on someone like Jeong-guk, whose secrets would distance you from him in the most painful way possible?
Defeatedly, the wolf-like man heaved a sigh, lungs swelling with the words that he was just about to say.
Jeong-guk, no.
“I’m taking you out on a date.”

Two Ghosts Ch.26 | Brittana
Available on ff.net (x) ao3 (x) & below the cut!
They spend the rest of the night doing finishing touches around the house before settling together to admire their work with some well earned mugs of hot chocolate. There’s this warmth that surrounds them while they sip quietly and listen to a jazzy cover of What Christmas Means to Me. Brittany’s sitting on the floor again with her back resting against Santana’s legs as she stares in wonder at the Christmas tree.
“This tree should be on a cover of a magazine,” Brittany says dreamily then cranes her neck back to catch Santana’s eye before shifting to look at Maribel, “So pretty.”
“It really is, Maribel,” Quinn agrees from the other side of the coffee table.
“Thank you girls,” Maribel says and it almost sounds like she’s going to cry, “I haven’t seen the place looking so festive in such a long time.”
Santana can only imagine what it has looked like over the years she has been away. She doubts Maribel would even go through the trouble of decorating since it’s just her and she usually goes to visit Santana over the holidays in New York. She gets to thinking about how different her life was before her parents divorced and before abuela cut her only granddaughter out of her life.
She remembers dressing up for family parties and going to church and she kind of misses it, but when she sees Brittany at her side again and Quinn, maybe this new version of family isn’t so bad. She can miss what she once had but treasure what’s there in front of her now.
“It looks really nice,” Santana says and leans over to pull Maribel in to a warm hug. She catches Brittany smiling at the pair lovingly and before she can even offer, Brittany’s setting down her mug and moving to stand.
“Can I hug?” She asks tentatively through a hopeful smile.
“Get in here,” Santana chuckles then looks to Quinn, “Come on, you too!”
\\
Not long after hot chocolates in the living, Quinn bids them goodbye and wishes Brittany a safe journey on her trip tomorrow while also jokingly promising to keep an eye on Santana for her. Santana couldn’t help the eye roll that followed when the pair of them agreed that she was sure to get bored without Brittany around, but it wasn’t like they were wrong.
She has spent a lot of time with Brittany over the last couple of weeks, of course she’d miss her when she’s gone.
Once Quinn left, Santana excused herself to pack her things. Maribel sent her a look that meant Santana would need to explain something soon, but Santana dodged it and headed upstairs while Brittany and Maribel chatted about Brittany’s plans for San Francisco.
Santana would be lying if she said she didn’t feel a little nervous, especially when she started to rifle through her pajama drawer for something to wear later. The later that consisted of sleeping next to Brittany without Quinn around.
It wasn’t like she had any expectations for the night – she wasn’t some horny teenage boy – but the thought did cross her mind. It had been a long time since she had been intimate with Brittany and being physical was always such a huge part of their relationship, so of course her mind wandered a little.
As Santana reminded herself of how they were taking things slow, she remembered other instances in the past where taking things slow was used against each other in a way that was both frustrating as it was arousing. They use to love teasing each other while they were out with their friends, testing to see who would break first and drag the other off somewhere secret. They’d take their time with each other then too, building the other up at an excruciatingly slow pace until they couldn’t take it any longer and come tumbling down.
The thought awakens something deep within Santana, but before she can get too carried away down memory lane there’s an interruption.
“Knock knock,” Maribel announced as she appeared in Santana’s doorway. Santana jumps a little at the surprise like she’s been caught doing something she shouldn’t, but then she relaxes.
“Hey Mami,” Santana smiled at her as Maribel made her way in, sitting atop the edge of Santana’s bed. She watched Santana fold her clothes perfectly and pack them away next to her toiletry bag.
Santana could just feel Maribel wanting to say something so she tries to get it over with sooner by asking, “Everything okay?”
“Yes mija, everything’s fine,” Maribel answers but there’s something there in her tone that makes Santana stop and look to her.
“You sure?”
“Yes,” Maribel assures her and this time there’s a smile, “I’m just feeling sentimental tonight. Having you girls here brought back so many good memories of when this house use to be a lot more lively. You know, when your papi was still around.”
Santana freezes and bites her lip. She’s not use to her mom bringing up the past, let alone her dad. It was a messy divorce and usually they just pretend it never happened which isn’t exactly the healthiest thing. He doesn’t make contact with them, probably has a new wife and kid by now, but Santana still feels a twinge of sadness when she thinks of him sometimes.
Because thoughts of him often leads to thoughts of her abuela.
Santana starts with a shaky voice, “Do you want me to stay? I can pick Br-“
“No, no. Don’t change your plans because of me,” Maribel chuckles. She reaches out for Santana’s hand and holds it in both of hers, “You’re a good daughter, always looking out for your mother.”
Santana snorts, “You really are sentimental tonight.”
“Yeah,” Maribel sighs through a soft smile as she moves to stand, “And I know I’ve said this earlier, but I’m proud of you. You’ve grown into such an amazing young woman.”
“Ma..” Santana groans, feeling a unsuspecting lump form in her throat. She quickly busies herself with zipping her bag in fear of possibly crying because of her mother’s kind words. No matter how old she gets, she doubts she’ll ever get use to hearing those words.
“I know, I know. You don’t want to hear it but you need to,” Maribel says then there’s a pause, “You’re a strong woman, you always have been. I’d like to think you got that from me, but I don’t know. You’re so much more, Santana. What you have with Brittany is so special and I’m happy that you’ve found someone who loves you for you.”
When Santana turns to Maribel, she’s looking at the bedazzled frame sitting on her desk. It’s been upturned for months now, her and Brittany’s young faces beaming back at her. She smiles now whenever she sees it instead of the feeling she use to have when she first returned to Lima. One look at that picture and she’s taken back to that very night at the annual Summer carnival where she first asked Brittany to be her girlfriend. She remembers the coy yes and the kiss that followed that tasted like cotton candy and funnel cake.
It’s one of Santana’s happiest memories of them.
“She’s been around a long time,” Maribel says, “I’m glad you both found each other again.”
Santana nods and doesn’t expect her truth to come tumbling out, “I’m going to marry her, mami.”
Maribel looks to her in an instant, eyes widening, “You’re going to propose?”
Santana realizes what she’s said and chuckles at her surprise. She’s a little embarrassed by the slip up and tries to explain, “Not like today or anything, but eventually. She’s – she’s everything to me.”
“Oh Santana,” Maribel cries and goes to pull her into another hug.
Santana stifles another laugh as she relaxes into it and pats her mother’s back, “You can’t say anything. Not even to Quinn. Actually, especially not to Quinn. I don’t know where her loyalties lie yet.”
When Maribel pulls away there are actual tears in her eyes, “I won’t say anything.”
Santana narrows her eyes playfully, “Well, you’re going to have to come up with a good excuse when you go back downstairs. Brittany’s sharp and she’s going to wonder why you’ve been crying.”
“I’ve already said goodnight to her,” Maribel winked then kissed Santana’s cheek, “And now, I’m off to bed before I become anymore emotional. You two drive safely.”
“Of course,” Santana nodded and watched her mother go. When she turned back to grab her bag, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Did I actually just tell my mom I’m going to propose? She thinks in awe then shakes away the thought.
It was such a knee-jerk response, it fell from her lips so easily like it was meant to all along. In theory, she has thought about her and Brittany’s future and that would naturally include marriage at some point in time but she didn’t think her subconscious would expose her by letting something like that slip.
\\
“There you are,” Brittany grins as Santana joins her downstairs. She moves to turn the tv off and looks to Santana as she rises, “So I was thinking…”
“Mhmm…” Santana quirks her brows as Brittany rounds the couch. She wears this mischievous little smile that makes Santana gulp as she nears. Her mind begins to churn out all these less than innocent ideas similar to the ones from earlier that make her want to squeeze her legs together.
It’s sad how just the slightest hint of sexy has her turning into this but really, the build up might just kill her if Brittany continues.
“Well,” Brittany starts as her hands land on Santana’s hips. There’s this huskiness in her voice now, “You should just ride with me to my place and you can use my car while I’m gone?”
Santana blinks at the seductive tone which completely contradicts Brittany’s simple request, “Wait, what?”
Brittany chuckles sexily, “You. Me. Drive together to my place?”
Santana wonders if she’s just so sex-deprived that she’s begun to imagine things or if Brittany really is sending her these signals. Regardless, she likes this newfound closeness – something they limited while around Quinn and Maribel – and curls her arms around Britt’s neck.
“If you want to then sure,” Santana answers, “But my car’s fine now. Burt worked his mechanic magic and I haven’t had a problem since.”
Brittany smiles and tightens her hold, “I know but it’s safer with you than parking it on the street. Don’t wanna come back to a missing tire again or something.”
Santana tilts her head at the sound of again but nods anyway, “Sure, Britt. I can do that, but let’s go. I didn’t realize how late it was.”
“Yeah…I might still have some packing to do,” Brittany admits shyly as she pulls away.
Santana just shakes her head and laughs, “Of course you do.”
\\
A short drive later, Brittany’s leading the way up a flight of stairs. It’s a nice looking apartment complex, way nicer looking than the place Santana was staying in New York. There’s some excitement buzzing through her in anticipation of seeing what Brittany’s home looks like and if she decorated it anything like she did her bedroom. It’s kind of a silly thought because Brittany’s a grown woman now and Santana doubts that she’ll have posters of her favorite singers taped to the walls or something like that.
Santana doesn’t notice how quiet Brittany goes as she gets her door open. In fact, Brittany doesn’t actually say anything until she hits the light switch. It’s then that Santana notices the sudden shyness all over Brittany’s face as she sets her keys down on the side table near the front door.
“So here it is. I know it’s not much,” Brittany begins to explain, “I haven’t really felt like decorating for some reason. It’s been more than a year now though, so maybe I should…”
Brittany trails off while Santana looks around. She’s right, there isn’t much in terms of decorations or personal touches but there are sliding doors that lead out to a small balcony that overlooks a park across the street and the view is kind of nice.
“Sorry, let me close those. Don’t want any peepers peeking in,” Brittany says as she goes over to close the vertical blinds.
“Yeah of course,” Santana mumbles and continues to take in her surroundings.
It looks like a pretty basic living room set up; there’s a sofa that’s been pushed up against the wall with a glass coffee table in the space between it and the tv. The set of shelves the tv sits on are bare aside from a candle and a couple of magazines.
There’s a yellow, polka-dotted blanket thrown over one arm of the couch which offers the only pop of color in the room. It’s a little bizarre considering Brittany’s probably the most colorful person she knows and she would usually jump at the chance to show off her inner fashionista.
One look at this room though and Santana finds herself doubting if Brittany really lives here. Not actually – she knows Brittany does – but nothing about the places seems her.
On the other side of the room is the kitchen and that’s pretty basic too with its stainless steel appliances and white cabinets with light grey countertops. The only clutter – if you can even call it that – are the couple of mugs and a box of Lucky Charms left on the counter near the toaster.
“Are you hungry or anything?” Brittany asks as she crosses the living room and goes for the fridge, “There’s not much in the fridge since I won’t be here, but I think there’s some juice? Not that it would satisfy hunger? Well, I guess it could…”
Santana stares as Brittany rambles. She hasn’t seen her this tense in awhile and softens while she puts her bag down. Brittany’s still trying to busy herself with the contents of her fridge when Santana closes the distance and places her hand on the small of Brittany’s back.
A quiet gasp escapes her as she pulls her head out of the fridge and turns to Santana.
“Am I making you nervous?” Santana asks slyly. There’s a smirk playing at her lips that instantly relaxes Brittany and makes her roll her eyes at the question.
“No…I’m just – I’m not use to having company is all,” Brittany clarifies with a nervous chuckle, “I want to make sure I’m a good host.”
Santana smiles softly, “That’s sweet.”
“Duh,” Brittany smiles smugly.
Santana doesn’t even think twice before rolling up to place a chaste kiss to Brittany’s lips, hoping it’ll ease any worries. When Brittany’s leans back down for another, Santana can feel some of the tension leave her body. It seems to work because when she pulls away, Brittany’s staring back with hooded eyes and a grin.
“Don’t worry about me,” Santana tells her earnestly, “If I want something, I’ll ask.”
She meant it innocently, but when Brittany pulls her bottom lip in she realizes that her words could be interpreted differently. Judging by the glint in her eye, Brittany’s mind has already gone there.
It should embarrass her, but instead she laughs as Brittany begins to smirk.
“Get your mind out of the gutter, Pierce.”
Brittany cracks an ever bigger smile and suddenly all the nervous tension melts away.
“I wasn’t even near the gutter,” Brittany defends and pokes at Santana’s side, “That one was all you. I’m not complaining though, you ask away.”
Santana rolls her eyes through the inevitable grin that matches Brittany’s, “Come on, I’ll help you finish packing.”
\\
A couple hours later and Brittany’s finally all packed up for her trip. They probably would’ve finished up a lot sooner if it wasn’t for the constant distracting on Brittany’s part which led to a little bit of making out against Brittany’s dresser then her closet door and anywhere else that wasn’t Brittany’s bed.
Because if they would’ve made it there, it would’ve been a wrap for the night. Taking things slow would’ve gone out the window and they would be tangled up together, sweaty and sated.
Surprisingly though, they both showed a little bit of self-control and stopped themselves before they were too far gone. How long that self-control will last? Who knows! In the end, they pulled through and finished up Brittany’s packing and were now off to get ready for bed.
“Awh, look at your cute little Christmas shorts!” Brittany beamed as she entered the bathroom and tugged at the hem of Santana’s red, cotton boy shorts that were covered in tiny pictures of presents.
Santana caught Brittany’s eye in the mirror as a bit of toothpaste dribbled from the corner of her mouth. Before she could say anything – not like Britt would understand her through all the suds – the blonde gave Santana’s butt a little pinch.
“Your booty is the greatest gift of all,” Brittany joked before reaching for her own toothbrush.
“Smooth, Britt, smooth,” Santana teased after rinsing.
“You know it,” Brittany mumbled and showed off a frothy smile.
Santana shook her head at the sight and wandered back to Britt’s bedroom. While she waited for Brittany to join her, she triple checked that her alarm was set for the morning because that would suck if they somehow slept through accidentally. Then again, that would mean Britt would just have to spend the holidays with her instead and that wouldn’t be all that bad.
She figures she should share though and Brittany’s been a little anxious for her trip without outright saying so.
She was just about ready to hop into bed after noticing how tired she actually was when she realized she didn’t know which side was Brittany’s. Her eyes shifted from the left which was closest to the small window to the right which was closer to the door. She had a hunch – Brittany always hated being the closest to the door – but she wasn’t sure.
“I usually sleep next to the window,” Brittany says as she comes in quietly. It’s like she was in Santana’s head and comes around to pull the covers back, “Unless you want the window side?”
“No, I’ll sleep wherever,” Santana assures her and follows suit, sliding under the covers next to Brittany.
The bed is cool against her bare legs and she kind of regrets packing shorts, but then Brittany’s smooth legs slide against hers and the regret is disappears.
Brittany rolls onto her side and her hand moves to Santana’s hip again and it’s so similar to the time they shared a bed in Cincinnati. No matter the nerves or how far deep they are in their heads, it always seem to vanish the minute their bodies touch. It’s like the only thing that ever feels consistently right to them.
“Sorry it’s a little cold in here,” Brittany says softly as she curls herself around Santana.
“Can’t really complain when I’ve got my own personal heater,” Santana teases although she snuggles further into Brittany’s embrace.
“See, I knew you secretly loved being the little spoon,” Brittany giggles and presses a kiss to Santana’s temple.
Santana lets out a sigh, attempting to sound annoyed although she really isn’t. In reality, this is probably the most content she’s felt in awhile. She had been pretty anxious for most of the day in anticipation for her song to Brittany, but things seemed to keep getting better and better after that. They had a great time at Maribel’s with Quinn and – although it wasn’t exactly how she planned it – her and Brittany had become a true item.
Brittany, the same girl she wasn’t even speaking to at the beginning of this year was now her girlfriend. How crazy is that? Santana couldn’t have imagined that being a possibility back in January, but here she is about to end the year with Brittany being hers again.
“What are you thinking about?” Brittany asks as her fingers slips beneath Santana’s t-shirt and starts to circle the soft skin above her hipbone. It’s such an innocent question, but it has been quite the day for them and although she’s tired as hell Brittany’s soft touches continue to poke at the embers begging to ignite into something they really shouldn’t.
Says who? The voice at the back of her mind instigates. She doesn’t have a straight answer, okay? And all the making out from earlier probably didn’t help her case much either.
“A lot of things,” Santana whispers and starts to inch closer to the hand Brittany has tucked under the pillow. She traces her finger along the smooth skin of her forearm, trying her hardest to keep certain thoughts from wandering in.
“Oh? Like what?” Brittany hums almost innocently.
Santana looks for the right words to say but the feel of Brittany’s fingers on her skin is too distracting. She doesn’t know how appropriate it would be to tell Brittany what she’s really thinking about, but can she blame her when Brittany has spent so much time tonight kissing her like that? Like seriously, who could even think of anything else but those lips and that tongue and those fingers…
Santana swallows dryly, “Well, you know…things.”
"You're being vague," Brittany comments.
"Yeah well...you're being," Santana starts but she loses her train of though when blunt nails scrape a little at her hipbone. She has to clench her jaw to keep a moan from escaping, that's how wound up she feels.
Brittany blinks slowly – either from sleepiness or something entirely different – and waits patiently for Santana to elaborate. Her fingers still drawing shapes into her skin when really, Santana has a much better idea of where those talented fingers can go.
The sudden thought makes her legs twitch on their own accord as a familiar heat rises.
Brittany’s brows bunch at the sudden movement.
“Was that a shiver? I’ll go turn the heat up,” Brittany says and flattens her hand on Santana’s waist as she starts to push herself up.
Santana’s quick to stop her though and surprises the both of them when she pulls Brittany down by her shirt. Brittany has to brace herself on her forearm so she doesn’t collide with her. There’s this slight confusion as Brittany looks down but it shifts into something else as her eyes met Santana’s.
“Don’t go anywhere,” Santana husks, her senses cloudier than before. Her heart races as she watches Brittany’s eyes darken at her tone.
“You’ve got a better idea to keep warm?” Brittany asks.
Santana takes her bottom lip between her teeth and slowly releases it, "Maybe?"
All it takes is for Brittany to lick her lips before they’re making out for the third time that night. It’s hungrier this time – needier – hands fight for dominance as they thread through each other’s hair and grip tightly to shirts.
Santana can faintly hear the sound of a moan, but she isn’t sure if it came from her or Brittany. She’s not too concerned with finding out because her ears are ringing, the pounding of her heart echoes there and throbs below the waist. She thinks she might actually be vibrating from all the want – the need – for more as Brittany’s tongue slides against her own.
It’s all happening so fast but at the same time not fast enough.
That’s when she realizes the sounds of moaning are her own and she does her best to stifle them as she moves to pin Brittany’s roaming hands above her head. Usually Brittany is the one that takes control but tonight Santana just can’t help herself. She sits atop Brittany, her thighs bracketing Brittany's hips.
There’s a slight resistance but Santana just pushes back a bit more firmly as she starts to trail wet kisses along Brittany’s jaw. At first they were somewhat gentle but the closer Santana got to the sensitive spot below Brittany’s ear, the harder Brittany’s hips began to jerk.
“Fuck Britt,” Santana groaned as Brittany rolled her hips expertly that just so happened to create the slightest bit of friction. Santana could just imagine the smug grin on Britt’s face at that, because she knew exactly what she was doing but damn did it feel good!
While Santana was mildly distracted, Brittany was able to free one hand and instantly smoothed over the curve of Santana’s ass. She bucked her hips again in the same way as before, causing Santana to nip hard at Brittany’s neck in hopes of stifling another helpless moan. Brittany hissed at the feel of Santana’s teeth on her and reached up to tug a little on her hair.
“I felt that,” Brittany said then pulled a little more so that she could expose the sensitive skin of Santana’s neck. She then ran her tongue along it before replacing the strip with soft nips, "Now I can do you."
Santana was struggling, her arms starting to shake the longer she tried to keep herself hovering over the blonde beneath her. With the way Brittany was kissing her didn’t help either.
Just then, Brittany gave her a particular hard nip – most likely payback for the one Santana gave  and will probably leave a mark– and Santana nearly collapsed on top of Brittany, her arms so close to giving out.
“Getting tired up there?” Brittany asked from her place, lips brushing against Santana’s ear before taking her earlobe between her teeth. Her voice came out with this sexy rasp, “Why don’t you let me take over?”
“Jesus,” Santana groaned again at the feel of Brittany’s warm breath against her ear.
“He might be a little busy at the moment,” Brittany teased as her hand slipped beneath Santana’s shirt. It flattened against Santana’s tensing abs as Brittany began to rock her hips again at a slow but steady pace, “Let me take care of you, Santana.”
Everything in her was screaming fuck yes but what came out instead was, “But…we have to be up early so we can go to the – fuck.“
“Never heard of that place,” Brittany smirks as her hand moves a little higher, “Must be new.”
“Airport. Your flight,” Santana stammers. She doesn’t think she has ever been this sexually frustrated in all of her life and she might just combust if they don’t slow down, “You’re killing me here, Britt.”
“Just say the word and I can make you feel a lot better,” Brittany tells her as she starts trailing kisses along Santana’s jaw again while her hand slides up until she’s palming at Santana’s chest, “I’ll make you feel so good, baby, don’t you want that?”
It’s a loaded question really, because this is not where she was expecting this night to go but again she wasn’t complaining. Especially when Brittany was looking at her like that and calling her baby. They’ve had a few different first time’s during the span of their relationship, but she wanted this time to be different. She was going to pull out all the stops, making it super romantic with like rose petals and candles or whatever!
She should’ve known that it would be a stretch to stick to a plan considering their impromptu date. What she was starting to realize was that some things just shouldn’t be planned, if they were going to happen then they’d happen the way fate or whoever intended them to.
And currently, with Brittany doing her damn near hardest to top her and give Santana everything and more…she thinks fate might be trying to tell her something here.
Then again, fate might also just be the horniness talking.
“I want you, Britt, like so much…” Santana finally answered but before Brittany could flip their positions, Santana stilled the blonde’s wandering hands. “And as much as I want to keep this going all night long, I also want to make sure we’re up in time for your flight. This is important to you so it’s important to me and if we start this now, I’m not going to want to finish.”
“Oh, you’ll finish alright,” Brittany smirked and started to lean forward again, “I’ll make sure of that, don’t you worry.”
“Britt...,” Santana sighed through her smile. She was close to giving up but she managed to stand her ground, “I’m being serious.”
Brittany blinked slowly, almost like she was coming out of the sex-driven haze, and took in Santana’s words thoughtfully.
“It’s a shocker that I’m resisting right now – I know – and it’s probably not the answer you were hoping for,” Santana says, “But I don’t want to rush our first this time around or have to worry about waking up early the next morning. The next time I make love to you, I’m going to take my time. It’s been so long and I’m going to spend all night or day or morning or whatever on you because you deserve that. You deserve-“
Brittany’s quick to hush her with a sweet kiss to her lips.
“I hear you loud and clear,” Brittany smiles up at her, “Come down here.”
Santana nods and let’s Brittany guide her to lie back down. Their bodies twist so that they’re back to cuddling on their sides, Brittany’s arms instinctively curling around Santana.
“We can just sleep tonight,” Brittany says softly, “I don’t mind that.”
“Okay,” Santana replies happily and kisses the tip of Brittany’s nose. She feels safe there in Brittany’s arms and with a lingering kiss to her hairline, sleep finds Santana easily that night.
\\
Despite the early wake up and making great time on the way to the airport, Santana and Brittany find themselves rushing to Brittany’s gate.
Well, Santana is in a rush. Brittany? Not so much.
Santana blames the complicated parking garage setup while Brittany tried her hardest to reassure her that they had time and they didn’t have to hurry. Santana may not have been the greatest when it came to punctuality, but that was a different story when it came to travelling.
“Oh, I forgot snacks!” Brittany gasps as she came halting to a stop at a kiosk.
The hand Santana was holding had her ricocheting to Brittany’s side while the blonde browsed the offering of sweets. Santana looked to Brittany – who was taking her sweet time – back to her watch then up to the travel display board.
“Britt, just pick something,” Santana sighs, “You still have to go through Security.”
“Quit rushing me, San. You know snack-picking is important,” Brittany waves her off before finally selecting a few things and passing them across to the cashier. She smiled and made a little small talk with the man behind the counter, “My girlfriend, she can’t wait to get rid of me.”
Santana whirled on her with a dropped jaw, “I – that’s not true. I just don’t want you to miss your flight.”
“Honey, I have almost an hour until boarding,” Brittany replies then looked over her shoulder to send Santana a smile, “There’s time to pick out snacks.”
The man chuckled at that and told Brittany her total while Santana swooned at the sound of honey.
“Okay, fine.” Santana tries to grumble although her growing smile gave her away.
Brittany paid and quickly jammed her snacks into her backpack. She threw her arm around Santana’s shoulders and hugged her to her side as they began to walk again, “I was only teasing back there. I know you’re gonna miss me like crazy.”
Santana’s rebuttal died on her lips the moment she felt Brittany press a kiss to her temple.
“And I’m going to miss you too,” Brittany whispers against her skin, “I don’t know what I’m going to do for two weeks without my favorite girl.”
Santana just smiled the biggest, most dorkiest smile. She didn’t even care if people looked at her funny, she couldn’t help how Brittany made her feel sometimes.
“Are you trying turn me into a puddle on the floor?” Santana replies.
Brittany shrugged her shoulder, “I mean…it’s not exactly what I had in mind when I think about making you wet-“
Santana instantly clapped her hand over Brittany’s mouth, she could feel the girl’s smirk against her palm, “Oh my God, Britt!”
Brittany giggles as she pulled away Santana’s hand, “I’m sorry. That must be the lack of orgasms talking.”
Just as she said that, an older woman passed and gave them both a scandalized look that made Santana want to hide her face. Seriously, Brittany’s lack of filter was both a blessing and a curse.
“See?” Brittany says casually, jutting her thumb in the woman’s direction, “She knows what I’m talking about.”
Santana could do nothing but laugh by that point.
\\
Within a few minutes, they arrived to the Security checkpoint entrance. Suddenly Santana’s heart was feeling a little heavier than before. This would be the furthest she could go and their steps slowed as they approached.
“Well this is me,” Brittany sighs.
“Yeah,” Santana answers curtly.
She reached for Brittany’s hips, the material of her hoodie so soft to the touch. The urge to bury her face in it was real and she hoped that the building lump in her throat would disappear. Not that crying in an airport wasn’t common, it’s just that she didn’t think that person would be her. Brittany wouldn’t be gone for long, so she doesn’t know why she’s suddenly feeling so…sad.
“You know, I think I can still try to sneak you in,” Brittany says playfully upon noticing Santana’s somberness, “There’s room in my carry on if you want to try that?”
Santana chuckled at Brittany’s attempt to lighten the mood.
“You know I wouldn’t be able to get one cheek to fit in there,” Santana counters with a smirk.
“So true,” Brittany giggles and smoothly reached around to squeeze at Santana’s ass.
Santana tried to laugh along with her, but her emotions were starting to win her over. Instead, she relented to the urge and buried her face into the crook of Brittany’s neck while her arms wrapped around her as best as she could with the backpack in the way.
“I’m going to miss you,” Santana mumbles against her neck, her lips grazing a blossoming bruise left there from the night before, “Like a lot, a lot.”
“Me too,” Brittany says and hugged Santana even tighter, “You’ll have fun here though, you won’t even notice I’m gone.”
“Impossible,” Santana shakes her head, “I always notice.”
“Yeah,” Brittany nods, “I am pretty awesome.”
Santana chuckled at that and pulled away to look up at Brittany, “You really are.”
“Duh,” Brittany winks then leaned down and captured Santana’s lips with her own.
When Brittany pulled away, Santana let her arms drop and griped Brittany’s hips instead. She realized why this feeling felt so familiar, it reminded her of the times they’d have to say goodbye whenever she would need to return to Louisville. This time was obviously different, Brittany was only going away for a little bit but the familiar feeling was still there.
She did her best to push those feelings aside for now, she didn’t want this to be a tearful goodbye. It was their last time seeing each other until the New Year. Their last moment together should be happier, something they could both hang onto until Brittany’s return. For a second there, Santana struggled with saying the right thing but the words came easily in the end.
“I love you, Britt.” Santana tells her then watched the dopey grin spread across Brittany’s face. Her cheeks grew rosy and her eyes twinkled at the sound of Santana’s words. It was the first time Santana had voiced her love like that aloud.
Brittany has said the words before – maybe not in that particular order – but she has made it known before. Santana on the other hand has been hanging onto it for some reason. Could have something to do with trying to suppress all these years or maybe it was being saved for a moment like this?
“I love you too,” Brittany replies with this almost dream-like content on her face before leaning back in for another kiss to Santana’s lips, then her cheeks and nose and forehead until the brunette is a giggling mess.
“Quit it,” Santana chuckles before they’re back to staring softly at each other.
It feels like an hour but it’s more like seconds when Brittany blinks and lets out a sigh, “I should probably head in there now, huh?”
Santana nods, “Probably.” Then they wrap themselves up in each other again, holding on tightly until one of them reluctantly pries the other off.
“Have a safe flight,” Santana says as she pats Brittany on the butt to get her moving. Brittany starts to walk in the direction of the entrance, “Let me know when you land, okay?”
“Sure thing, babe,” Brittany calls out before blowing a kiss to Santana. She doesn’t know which one makes her knees wobble more but then Brittany follows up with, “Love you!”
“Love you too!” Santana replies through a cheek-bunching grin and waves her goodbyes until Brittany’s out of sight. She lets out a tired sigh, something she feels like she’s been holding in since they arrived, then turns to head down the corridor they had come down earlier.
There’s only one thing on her mind now and it's how this is going to be the longest two weeks ever without Brittany.

J/H 6-16: Man With Money
Continuing the trend of refocusing the arc kicked off by Jackie's mom to actually be about Jackie...

SHOW TITLE   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT – NIGHT   A small section of the gang laze around – HYDE in his chair, DONNA on one end of the couch and FEZ on the other, KELSO in the lawn chair. Kelso and Fez are dressed rather “sporty” for just sitting around.   ERIC comes down the stairs, wearing an extremely ‘70s three-piece orange suit with a brown shirt and awful tie. He pauses at the landing and strikes a pose.   ERIC: Well? Is orange my color?   HYDE: If you’re planning on being ringmaster at the pumpkin patch carnival this Halloween.   Eric strolls down the rest of the way, sits next to Donna on the couch. He notices her and Hyde’s casual attire.   ERIC: You two aren’t dressing up? Come on – it’s a cocktail party.   DONNA: It’s your parents’ cocktail party. You’ve never even wanted to go to one before, let alone dress for it.   ERIC: Hey, I’m an engaged man, Donna, soon to be married. It’s time to start showing a little class and maturity at social events.   DONNA: You’re in that suit because my dad’s bringing Jackie’s mom, aren’t you?   ERIC: That might have something to do with it.   KELSO: Man, Pam Burkhart. One time, back when I was dating Jackie, Pam was trying to wash her car, right, and she leaned over and, like, squeezed out the sponge. That’s all I remember, ‘cause I rode my bike straight into a tree. She’s why I’m dressed up.   FEZ: Me too. She is like a glorious golden sun goddess looking for strapping young temple boys. Mexico was very good to her.   He, Kelso, and Eric all sigh and gaze dreamily up to the ceiling.   HYDE: Hey, can we shut up about Pam?   KELSO: Hyde, if you’ve got a better subject of conversation than the finest set of T and A on any of our moms, I don’t think I wanna hear it.   HYDE: Yeah, well, that great T and A are on a lousy mom who ditched their kid, and now that she’s back, Jackie’s a mess. There’s so much crying going on in my room, I’m gonna need a drainage pump or an Aqua-Lung.   KELSO: Oh, like in Creature from the Black Lagoon? The chick in that movie is pretty smokin’ too.   FEZ: (gasps) If you put her together with Mrs. Burkhart, you have the sun and water goddesses!   He, Kelso, and Eric look up and sigh again.   HYDE: I just need everyone to zip it about Pam before Jackie gets here.   DONNA: Yeah, and definitely don’t say anything about her mom dating my dad. Jackie doesn’t know yet, and we haven’t figured out how to tell her.   As Donna says the back half of that line, JACKIE comes down the stairs.   JACKIE: Tell me what?   She sits in Hyde’s lap and looks to Donna, expecting.   DONNA: Um... that Hyde signed you up for ballroom dance lessons.   JACKIE/HYDE: What?   They look to each other. Jackie is beaming; Hyde doesn’t know what the hell just happened.   JACKIE: I can’t believe you finally agreed to that!   HYDE: (glares at Donna) Neither can I.   KELSO: (laughing) Hyde in dance class?   HYDE: Man, you know why they call it a “ballroom?” ‘Cause that’s what they might as well cut off every man who sets foot in one.   JACKIE: Okay, I know I’m going to have to put up with a lot of complaining like that, but I’m finally going to have you out on the dance floor in a tuxedo, so I don’t care!   She throws her arms around his neck, kisses his cheek, and cuddles.   FEZ: (to Hyde) Why didn’t you start the lessons sooner so you could show them off at the cocktail party? You know Bob and Pam are going to strut their stuff as soon as the music comes on. We all heard about their date at the disco.   Jackie’s head snaps up.   JACKIE: My mom and Donna’s dad are dating?   She looks around the room; no one can meet her eyes except for Hyde, who gives a small, reluctant nod.   Jackie jumps out of Hyde’s lap and runs into his room.   HYDE: Jackie, wait!   He starts after her. He pauses long enough to lean over the back of the couch and point a threatening finger at Fez.   HYDE (cont’d): If I don’t drown, I’m kicking your ass!   He disappears into his room as Fez sinks down into the couch.
MAIN CREDITS   BUMPER   MUSIC NOTE: “Mack the Knife” performed by Louis Armstrong.   INT. FORMAN LIVING ROOM – NIGHT   Cocktails with the Formans. It isn’t a large party – just a few older couples, spread out through the living room. “Mack the Knife” plays on the record player. RED, manning the home bar, even sings along. KITTY, fresh from the kitchen with a tray of hors d’oeuvres, sets it on the coffee table and half-walks, half-dances over to him.   RED: (singing) When the shark bites With his teeth, dear...   KITTY: Well, you’re awfully happy.   RED: I’m hittin’ the hard booze for the first time since the heart attack, Kitty. Life is worth living again. Plus, chances are everyone here’s getting hammered, so I get to have the cops tow everyone’s car.   The front door opens, and in walk BOB and PAM, hand-in-hand. Pam is overdressed in a rather scandalous gown. They head straight for the bar.   BOB: Hey, everybody. I brought a date! Look how tall she is. It’s like I’m dating the Statue of Liberty.   KITTY: Oh, Kitty, I just love coming over to your house. You have such unique tastes. It’s like being at a giant flea market. (taps the bar) Tequila Sunrise and keep ‘em coming, Red.   Red gives her a small smile, nods, and gets to work. Kitty eyes him; he should have made a sharp remark by now.   Eric strolls in from the kitchen, immediately crosses to Pam. Donna, with much less enthusiasm, is a few steps behind him.   ERIC: Mrs. Burkhart? That’s weird. Golly, I didn’t know you were dropping by.   DONNA: (to Eric) Yeah, you did. I told you she was. And you just said that’s why you were wearing your tacky, pumpkin-colored suit.   ERIC: I’m sorry, Donna. I think you’ve confused “tacky” with “handsome.” (to Pam) Which – I don’t mean to brag, but...   He laughs, strikes a pose, and leads her into the party, Bob in tow. They don’t get very far, however, before Kelso and Fez rush in from the kitchen.   KELSO: Where is she? What’s she wearing?   They join Bob and Eric in crowding around Pam, who seems a little too pleased with all the attention.   Donna shakes her head. Kitty taps on the bar.   KITTY: Tall Manhattan and keep ‘em coming, Red.   Red gives a curt nod, gets to work. Donna and Kitty watch as Pam sits down in Red’s chair and crosses her legs.   KITTY (cont’d): Oh, look at her. (to Red) Would you ever want me to show that much leg?   RED: Absolutely not.   KITTY: (beat) And why not?   RED: (frowns) You set me up.   Kitty just glares at him in reply. She snatches her finished drink from his hands and moves into the party. Red looks to Donna, as if for answers; she just shrugs.   Over at Red’s chair, the boys are at rapt attention as Pam shares a story.   PAM: So that’s when I realized that tapas sounds a lot like “topless.” But, I had already promised, so...   BOB: (to the boys) Ah, she’s got it all – looks and beauty.   ERIC: So, Mrs. Burkhart – have, um... have you ever seen The Graduate?   Before she can answer, Jackie and Hyde enter from the kitchen. Pam rises, crosses with Bob to meet them. The boys disperse into the party.   PAM: (to Jackie) Hi, honey. I was hoping you’d be here.   Jackie doesn’t so much as look at Pam. Instead, she turns to Hyde.   JACKIE: So Steven, I love that new figurine you got me for my birthday. It’s a unicorn, which is sweet, but you stole it out of a rich person’s yard, which is so foxy.   Pam, scandalized, gapes at Hyde; he just grins back.   BOB: Jackie, your mother’s talking to you.   Jackie doesn’t look at Bob either.   JACKIE: (to Hyde) Boy, I hope the Formans don’t need to call a repairman for their stove. I think I smell a gas leak.   She moves past Pam and Bob to get at the hors d’oeuvres on the coffee table.   HYDE: (to Pam & Bob) The silent treatment. I’m not usually on the outside watching it. That’s good stuff.   He moves past them to follow Jackie. They sit down next to each other on the couch and snack. Donna crosses to them, sits on the other side of Jackie.   DONNA: Okay, Jackie, I know that was a lousy way to find out your mom and my dad are dating, but you’re with me now in wanting them to stop seeing each other, right?   Jackie doesn’t answer or meet Donna’s eyes. Her snacking gets faster, the bites sharper. Hyde notices; Donna doesn’t.   DONNA (cont’d): You know my dad’s buying a hot tub now? With a euphoria jet? He said, (doing Bob) “I have all this extra money, and Pammy’s helping me spend some.” (normal voice) Well, “Pammy” sure doesn’t waste any time before she starts tapping the first national bank of “lonely rich guy.”   Jackie, still not looking up at Donna, snaps a toothpick in her hands.   HYDE: (warning) Donna...   DONNA: (to Jackie) God, why can’t my dad see that your mom is nothing but a tramp?   Jackie jumps to her feet.   JACKIE: Oh, you shut up about my mom! She should be going after a cool rich guy, like Jack Nicholson or a Bee Gee. Your Bob of a dad is lucky she settled for him as a meal ticket!   DONNA: Excuse me? You’re saying my dad’s not good enough?   JACKIE: Oh, so you see it too!   She turns heel and disappears back into the kitchen.   DONNA: (to Hyde) What the hell was that? She talks about what a gold digger her mom is all the time!   HYDE: (stands) Hey, Donna, you know how Jackie just told you to shut up?   DONNA: Yeah...   HYDE: Shut up!   He follows after Jackie. Donna shakes her head and throws her hands up.   At the front of the room, Fez and Kelso try to make their way to the kitchen door with a bottle of gin tucked into Kelso’s blazer. Kitty intercepts them at Red’s chair.   KITTY: Oh, I cannot believe you kids! Trying to sneak off with my good gin.   She takes the bottle and starts for the bar.   KELSO: (to Fez) Yeah, I shoulda known. She can smell booze from a mile away.   He isn’t as quiet as he thinks; Kitty turns around, and Red comes over from the bar.   KITTY: Excuse me?   KELSO: Oh... I said, “you smell like booze from a mile away.”   RED: That’s worse, dumbass.   Fez tugs on Kelso’s sleeve, and they vanish into the kitchen.   Kitty and Red return to the bar, where Pam and Bob are waiting.   PAM: Oh, what a lovely evening. If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear I was with rich people.   RED: (to Pam) Want another drink?   He takes out two glasses. Kitty puts one of them away.   KITTY: Honey, you shouldn’t be drinking. You have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. (to Pam) He has a heart condition. He’s very old.   RED: (to Kitty) You mean I have to stand here making drinks for these freeloaders when I can’t touch the stuff myself? That’s it – I’m calling the cops. Everyone’s getting towed.   He steps out from behind the bar and moves for the phone.   BUMPER   EXT. FORMAN DRIVEWAY – DAY   The next morning. The Toyota rests in the drive. Red and Kitty step out. Red has a large HEART MONITOR strapped to his right arm.   RED: I don’t care what that doctor says. I’m not wearing this stupid heart monitor. It makes me look like a damn robot.   KITTY: Red, I'm sure you won't even know it's there. It'll only beep if your heart rate goes above normal, like when you get agitated or excited or extra angry or extra happy.   She gives him a playful poke in the arm.   KITTY (cont’d): Putting my money on extra angry.   Red grunts, opens up the trunk.   RED: I bet the damn thing doesn't even work.   He and Kitty gather up grocery bags as they continue talking.   KITTY: You know what, Red? Your attitude stinks. You wouldn't be in this mess if you'd just listened to me in the first place.   RED: Kitty...   KITTY: I told you to eat more fiber in the mornings. I told you to exercise. I even told you to wear more comfortable shoes for circulation. Did you listen? No. So I guess I'm just gonna keep telling you and telling you and telling you –   The heart monitor lets out a quick series of loud beats.   RED: What do you know? It does work.   He slams the lid down on the trunk and heads inside.   BUMPER   EXT. PINCIOTTI BACKYARD – DAY   A freshly acquired item takes up most of the backyard space: A HOT TUB, up and running even in winter. Kelso enjoys a good soak in the dub, while Eric, Hyde, and Jackie sit on the lawn bench.   KELSO: Hey, I can't believe you guys aren't in Bob's hot tub. You know, I feel like Warren Beatty in a movie about a hot tub. He's, like, hot tubbin', then, like... other stuff happens.   ERIC: Kelso, just so you know, Bob was in there an hour ago, so you are, like, covered in hot, bubbly Bob.   Kelso considers for a moment, then shrugs, “I’m good with that.”   Donna comes out from the kitchen, freezes mid-step when she sees Jackie.   DONNA:  Well, well. If it isn’t little miss junior prospector. Apparently my dad’s not good enough for your mom to dig her claws into, but it’s fine for her to leave her little cuckoo bird here to steal room and food.   JACKIE: Look, Donna –   DONNA: No, okay? You’re the one who’s been saying ever since your mom got back that she’s just here to find another free ride, and I’m not gonna let her do that to my dad. I just need to show him what a big mistake this is.   KELSO: “Big mistake?” Bob is Bob, and he’s getting me-quality girls. He’s living life, Kelso style. How can you wanna take that away from your dad, Donna?   ERIC: I’m with Kelso on this one. Bob needs to love that woman for all she’s worth.   DONNA: Eric!   ERIC: What, what are you gonna do, cut me off from sex again?   DONNA: (to Jackie) She’s making my dad take her out on all these expensive dates, they’re buying stupid crap like this hot tub -   KELSO: “Stupid?” There’s snow on the grown, and I’m, like, a million degrees in this thing. And with this euphoria jet, all of Fez’s “needs” problems are ancient history.   Everyone but Kelso shivers a little at the thought.   DONNA: (to Jackie) Your mom’s doing everything you said she’d do, and she’s doing it to my dad, who’s never been anything but nice to you, and who took you in when your mom ran off and you had no place to go.   JACKIE: (stands) God, Donna, I am so sick of hearing about this! You know, I’m not any happier than you are that they’re together.   DONNA: Then why are you sticking up for your mom all of a sudden?   JACKIE:  I’m not sticking up for her, okay? It’s just... it’s just...   She shifts on her feet, looks around; if she even knows or understands the real answer, she doesn’t want to say it.   JACKIE (cont’d): How can a beautiful woman like my mom be going out with a great, big mayonnaise lover like your dad? This morning, at breakfast, your dad burped right in front of my mom, and she laughed, Donna. Laughed! Okay, we’re Burkharts. We don’t burp, and we don’t tolerate people who do.   DONNA: God, Jackie, you can be such an ungrateful little bitch.   Jackie recoils at the words. Her eyes turn wet and glassy. She runs around the house and out of the yard.   HYDE: Well, there goes the rest of my day. Way to go, Donna.   He stands, starts to follow Jackie.   KELSO: (to Hyde) Hey, before you go, can you hand me my clothes? I’m all done peeing.   He points to the shirt and pants folded by the base of the hot tub.   HYDE: Kelso, are you naked?   KELSO: (beat) No. Eric, could you hand me my clothes, please?   ERIC: (stands) I'm sorry, buddy. I can't hear you over the hot tub. Did you hear him, Hyde?   HYDE: I think so. I think he said to take his clothes and run away.   ERIC: Oh!   Hyde nabs Kelso’s clothes, and he and Eric take off around the house.   KELSO: Guys - guys, come back!   No good; he’s trapped in the tub.   KELSO (cont’d): (to Donna) Well, looks like I'm gonna have to be nude in front of you, and that's kind of awkward. So, I think you should nude up.   Donna heads back inside.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN KITCHEN – DAY   Lunchtime. Red reads the newspaper at the kitchen table as Kitty prepares a plate for him and brings it over.   KITTY: Okay, good news, Red. I made your favorite lunch - lasagna!   She hands him the plate, he takes it.   RED: Thanks.   KITTY: “Thanks?” Aren't you excited? Let's hear that monitor!   RED: So every time you do something nice for me, I'm supposed to have a heart attack?   KITTY: Well, no, not an attack. Just a little episode. (laughs) I mean, what does it take to get that beeper going?   Bob and Pam enter through the patio door.   PAM: Hi, Red.   Red’s heart monitor sounds off.   RED: (to Kitty) Wow, that must be the lasagna kicking in.   He makes a show of taking a hearty bite.   FADE TO BLACK   COMMERCIAL   BUMPER   INT. FORMAN LIVING ROOM – DAY   A short time later. Kitty sits in the middle of the couch, arms tightly crossed, while Red sits uncomfortably in his chair.   RED: Hey, what do you say we have some more of that lasagna? Boy, was that delicious.   Out of the corner of his mouth, he makes a beeping noise. He points to his heart monitor and pulls a “look at that!” face.   KITTY: Oh, can it, Red. When Pam showed up, your heart monitor went off like a freaking slot machine.   RED: Pam had nothing to do with that thing going off, dammit!   KITTY: Oh, and look at us now. We're arguing. Can't even get a beep out of you.   The kitchen door swings open. Kelso marches in, naked except for a garden hose wrapped around his naughty place.   KELSO: Your son is a jerk.   He heads up the stairs. Red and Kitty share a look; Red shrugs.   CUT TO:   EXT. PINCIOTTI BACKYARD – DAY   Immediately following. Bob and Pam enjoy a nice soak. Red and Kitty come around the house, mid-argument.   RED: Okay, come on. I am gonna prove to you that I am not attracted to Pam.   They step up to the tub.   PAM: Hey, guys.   Red’s heart monitor goes off. Kitty looks up and glowers at Red.   RED: (to Kitty) I think I'm having a war flashback. I'm messed up, Kitty. I'm real messed up.   He turns around and hurries out of the yard.   CUT TO:   INT. HYDE’S BEDROOM – DAY   Hyde, sans shades, and Jackie lie in bed, the goose down duvet pulled around them. Jackie’s head rests against Hyde’s shoulders as he holds her and she holds SCHATZI.   JACKIE: How could Donna say that I’m ungrateful? When I threw out all her old lumberjack shirts and replaced them with blouses and peplum tops last Christmas, I made sure all of them were in her giant size. And who keeps leaving business cards for real hair stylists on Bob’s car? That’s all me. Not Donna – me!   HYDE: You did kind of go off on Bob and do a 180 about your mom once you found out they were dating.   JACKIE: Steven, when a girlfriend is upset, it’s your job as the boyfriend to nod along and agree, not tell her the truth! Look, Donna doesn’t know my mom. It’s not her place to say those things. Of course, everyone can see how unnatural it is for someone like my mom to be with Bob. She’s rich and classy, and he’s all corny and cheesy. He’s like nachos.   HYDE: Well, that explains how he scored your mom. She’ll touch anything from Mexico.   Jackie gives him a halfhearted swat to the chest.   HYDE (cont’d): Come on, Jackie. Donna’s just worried about her dad.   JACKIE: Look, I know, okay? And she’s right. Well, probably right. It’s just... I don’t know. When I heard the things she was saying about my mom, I just... I felt like...   HYDE: Like you had to stick up for her ‘cause she’s family, even if you should be helping out the other guy?   He gives Jackie a knowing look. She reaches up, cups his cheek with her hand.   JACKIE: Oh, Steven. You know, our moms are like miniskirts that look great on the mannequin, but as soon as you try them on, they’re totally trashy and ruin your whole image. But you can’t take a mom back to the store to trade in for something better in a designer brand.   She turns her head into his shoulder, and Hyde pulls her in closer. He does his best to not pull away when Schatzi starts sniffing in his ear.   CUT TO:   INT. HUB - DAY   A typical afternoon. Eric, Donna, and Fez have claimed the wall table, Eric and Donna in the booth seat and Fez across from them. Food baskets and soda bottles adorn the table.   DONNA: (to Eric) I cannot believe you think my dad should stay with Pam. She doesn't even like you. She told my dad you groped her at the party. ERIC: Okay, look, Donna, you and Pam obviously have some serious issues. I think you two should work them out with a good old-fashioned pillow fight.   Donna swats his chest and rolls her eyes. FEZ: What's the big deal? Bob and Pam are adults who want to do what comes naturally to everybody except me. So I say, why can't I get any?   DONNA: (to Eric) You know, Pam wants to be with my dad now, but what happens when someone else comes along? I wouldn't care so much if I could just, you know, test her with a hotter guy and see if she falls for him.   ERIC: Because I love you, I'll do it.   He starts to stand, but Donna pulls him back down.   DONNA: No, it has to be someone her type. And, going off all her stories about her time in Mexico, she has a weakness for young, dark-skinned guys.   She and Eric both look at Fez, who’s slow to realize he’s pulled attention.   FEZ: (shrugs) I guess I can ask around.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN KITCHEN – DAY   Kitty is at the stove. She pulls out an angel cake and sets it on the stovetop as Red walks in from the living room.   RED: Mmm, that smells delicious. What is it?   Kitty refuses to look at them as she sprinkles sugar over the cake.   KITTY: It's not for you. You can go look for scraps around the neighborhood like the rest of the dogs.   RED: Kitty, for the last time, I am not attracted to Pam. In all the years we’ve been together, you know my heart has never raced at the sight of any woman but you.   KITTY: Well, your cardiac jukebox there says otherwise!   RED: (points at monitor) I knew this damn thing wouldn’t work. I’m telling you, that floozy lush had nothing to do with it going off!   The patio door opens, and Pam enters.   PAM: Hi, Kitty. Hi, Red. I thought we'd come over and see if you two wanted to catch a movie.   Red and Kitty look from Pam to the monitor and back to Pam. Red holds the monitor up to his ear to check the sound; nothing happens.   PAM (cont’d): Why are you staring? Too pretty for Wisconsin? I get that a lot.   KITTY: (to Red) You shut it off, didn't you?   RED: No, I did not shut it off!   Bob enters.   BOB: Let's hustle it up. I don't want to sit behind people with hats.   The heart monitor goes off. Red shuts it off.   RED: (to Kitty) Ha! Look at that, nosey! It's not Pam. It's Bob, because he annoys me.   BOB: That's true. I do.   PAM: What are you guys talking about?   KITTY: Um... (laughs) (to Pam) I, um... I-I-I sort of thought that Red had a crush on you.   PAM: Oh, Kitty, I'm sorry. This face can bring as much trouble as it does joy.   RED: Well, Kitty, what do you have to say for yourself?   KITTY: It's the menopause. I'm messed up, Red. I'm real messed up.   She hurries into the living room.   BUMPER   EXT. PINCIOTTI BACKYARD – DAY   Some time later, post-movie. Fez, in an outfit straight from the tackiest of ‘70s pool boy pornos, sweeps the hot tub with a net. His ass is stuck out to pull focus, which it does when Pam steps out from the kitchen.   PAM: Um, hello?   Fez makes a dramatic turn to look at her.   PAM (cont’d): What are you doing?   FEZ: I was hired to clean the hot tub. But you should know that I perform... other services, too.   He lowers one strap of his tank top. Ignoring that, Pam crosses to inspect the hot tub.   PAM: Well, you could start by doing a better job. It's still dirty.   FEZ: So, you like it dirty?   PAM: No, I want it clean.   FEZ: So, you like it filthy?   PAM: Bob!   FEZ: Whoa, I'm not into that!   He throws up his hands as Pam shakes her head.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT – DAY   Eric and Donna are relaxing on the couch. Donna has a diving mask and snorkel in her hands that she fiddles with.   Kelso comes running down the stairs wearing Eric’s clothes.   KELSO: Hey, Eric, that was a good burn, stealing my clothes. But the laugh's on you, 'cause I borrowed your pants, and I'm not wearing any underwear.   He makes a show of wiggling his butt around in Eric’s pants.   ERIC: Kelso, just so you know, the last time I wore those pants, I wasn't wearing any underwear.   KELSO: Ouch. Well played.   He gives Eric a nod, then crosses to sit on the dryer.   The basement door opens. A frowning Bob enters, holding Fez by the back of the neck.   BOB: (to Donna) Did you tell Fez to make a move on Pam? 'Cause if you didn't, I'm gonna box him up and send him back to banana town.   FEZ: (to Bob) Okay, I'm sick of those comments. I don't say I'm gonna send you back to polyester town.   Donna stands, crosses to Bob. At the same time, Jackie and Hyde enter from Hyde’s room. Jackie beats Donna over to Bob.   JACKIE: Mr. Pinciotti, good, I thought that was you. Look, you need to break up with my mom. You’re too good for her.   DONNA: Oh, here we go. You know, you’ve got some nerve, Burkhart – wait, what?   BOB: What?   ERIC/KELSO/FEZ: What?   JACKIE: Mr. Pinciotti, you’re a wonderful guy with a huge heart. You’re like a cute, fuzzy, slightly gassy panda bear. And my mom is a beautiful blonde tiger who goes around looking for panda bears to rip open to get at the money inside.   FEZ: Wait, I’m confused. Is Bob a panda bear or a pinata? (Gasps) Or a panda pinata! (to the guys) If you bastards don’t have a panda pinata for my birthday, there will be no cake for any of you!   JACKIE: (to Bob) I’ve said some awful things about you over the last few days, and I know I haven’t always been as grateful as I should be, but I really appreciate all you’ve done since my mom left me. And I know my mom, and I don’t want to see her hurt you like she hurt me. And I know Donna feels the same way.   DONNA: Thank you, Jackie. And I’m sorry.   She puts an arm around Jackie’s shoulders.   DONNA (cont’d): And Dad, I’m sorry about Fez, but it was the only thing I could think of to prove that Pam doesn’t... you know, really care about you.   BOB: Well, guess what? She does really care about me, so I don’t want any more of these little games. (to Jackie) Now, Jackie, I appreciate your concern, and I’m sorry you feel that way about your mom, but she and I make each other happy. You and Donna better accept it soon, 'cause she's here to stay.   JACKIE: But Mr. Pinciotti –   BOB: I’m sorry, but I don’t wanna talk about it anymore. This is the way it’s gonna be. In fact – Pam and me talked after the movies, and she’s moving in.   JACKIE: Wait, what?   DONNA: What?   ERIC/HYDE/KELSO/FEZ: What?   JACKIE: No, no, no. Mr. Pinciotti, my mom can’t move in with us.   BOB: She can and she is. End of discussion.   JACKIE: No, because... because if my mom’s moving in, then I’m moving out.   She gets out from under Donna’s arm and runs back into Hyde’s room.   Hyde takes the snorkel mask from Donna.   HYDE: I’m gonna need this. (to Bob, doing Bob) “Way to go there, Bob.”   Shaking his head, he goes back to his room.   FADE TO BLACK   CREDITS   INT. FORMAN LIVING ROOM – NIGHT   Much later, well into night. Hyde and Jackie sit together on the couch, Jackie holding Schatzi.   HYDE: (to Jackie) Roy said you can get a room at the hotel where we work, but it’ll be a few days before you can move in. You sure you wanna do this?   JACKIE: I’m sure, Steven. I can’t be under the same roof as my mom right now.   She leans into Hyde, who puts an arm around her shoulders.   They both look up to the ceiling as a faint beeping sound echoes down from upstairs.   JACKIE: What’s that noise?   HYDE: It’s Red’s heart monitor.   JACKIE: Where’s Mrs. Forman?   HYDE: She’s with him.   The thought hits them both at the same time. Jackie screams, drops Schatzi onto the seat next to her, and clings to Hyde. He pats her arm even as he looks up again and snickers.   END.

Title: Know it all Chapter Five
"Can you find where they are?" Xavier asks as logan drives out of the mansion. I shuffle through traffic cams and display televisions across the city, "I can't find them." Then I remember. I tap into the carnival's security system and sure enough, I see Kurt and Tabetha getting off a ride, her arm in his as he struggles to stay steady. "To the carnival logan." Xavier requests from the back seat. My lip twitches slightly, "They're having fun..."
Suddenly Tabetha drags him out of the carnival, but the audio isn't picking up what she is saying.
I try to stay on them, but once they turn into an ally I can't get any more frames.
Within minutes we arrive at an empty street with dim lights illuminating the storefronts. Charles and I get out of the car to look around. Logan drives down the street to look on ahead as Charles and I look into the alleys. "There!" I whisper, seeing man's shadow leaking out the store's side entrance, glass scattered around the floor. "Wait here," Charles whispers as the wheels into the doorway.
I can hear Tabetha yelling, "You tricked me! You just used us!"
"Nothing personal, Sweetheart, just business. That rope will hold you until the cops come. Keep them busy, would ya? See ya around, freaks."
Thud.
I flinch as the voices stop after something hit the floor. I step forward carefully and press my sweaty palms to my thighs. Shadows come around the corner, huddling into a glob that engulfs the dim light from the building. My blood runs cold and the corner of my lip twitches, pulling my head to peek around the corner. Charles, Tabetha, and Kurt come into the light. " Oh thank goodness." I sigh.
Kurt approaches me on sight, rubbing his reddening wrists with a clenched jaw. "I'm glad you came."
"Me too." I place a hand on his writs, pointlessly hoping to absorb some of the pain for him.
Soon after, the police rush by and take Tabetha's father away in cuffs without question, most likely with Charles's influence. I stand with Kurt as Charles comes to scold him. "Tabetha needed help. She was scared!" Kurt defended. "I understand that Kurt, but you both should have told me what was going on so that I could help."
"We couldn't."
Their argument starts to fade as I look over at Tabetha, holding herself as she watched the police lights disappear.
My sneakers scuff the pavement softly and the wind shoots into my sweater as I come up behind her. I didn't even have to think about what to say, "You aren't your father."
"What?" she cries, turning to me as if I were a figment of her imagination.
"You aren't him. You aren't Charles. You aren't me." I take a step closer and held her hand. At that moment somehow, she knew that I've felt exactly how she is feeling. All the air sucked from your lungs, every crack in your skin aching, every lump in your throat swelling until you forget the memory of breathing.
"You are you and don't let anyone take that away. Your choices, your mistakes, and your discipline are yours. I know you feel like you owe him, like doing what he wants will make him finally happy, but it won't. There will always be one more thing he wants, one more betrayal against your own code. Don't let him have another one."
She squeezes my hand tightly and we walk back to Charles and Kurt. "I'm leaving the Xmen." Tabetha blurts out. We all look at her in shock. "Truth is, I never really felt like I belonged there. Not because of others, but because of myself. I need to find who I am and explore what I am on my own."
"But-" Kurt starts, but is stopped by Charles.
"We understand, Tabetha, and you will always be welcome at the Xmansion."
She gives each of us a personal smile and walks off into the street.
After the long silent passes I cough, "For the record, I did not tell her to quit."
Kurt chuckles and looks back to where the carnival's commotion was.
"Looks like they are still open, Kurt." Charles smiles, "Didn't you have someone you wanted to ask?"
Kurt looked at me smugly, "unfortunately, she dislikes carnivals."
"Woah, I never said those exact words."
"So?..."
"I suppose I could participate in irrational entertainment for one night."
Kurt grabs my hand and looks at me until his cheeks flare up in embarrassment.
"You forgot about the powers thing, huh?" I chuckle.
"Not... at all. Actually," he hooked my arm in his, "I think it is a great night for a walk."
Kurt flips on his image inducer and even though It felt odd at first; like it wasn't really him, I got used to it. We rode dozens of rides, played ridiculous carnival games- to which I was actually good at, even won Kurt a stuffed shark plushie- and we even ate the disgusting food they offered. We talked most of the night, just scratching the surface of our interests, likes and dislikes, funny stories, mimicking each other's accents-to which Kurt is rather good at an English impersonation- Kurt even shared how he joined the Xmen and how he discovered his powers. We spent most of the night at the Carnival until it closed near 11 pm and we decided to walk back to the mansion. Kurt didn't complain, actually he took the opportunity to ask me unique questions about myself; unimportant topics that seemed like they were the world to him; as if the answer hung on his existence. It's funny, all the monitors and hacking in the world couldn't show me who Kurt really was.
He walked me back to the sub-basement laughing at something I had said, to be honest, his laugh alone distracts me. "I had fun tonight." He smiles, his accent thick. He got closer, but I couldn't do it anymore; pretending I was okay with how he looked...
I slowly took off his image inducer and watched as the pale skin faded back to his normal blue. His straight filed teeth return to a vampire-like smile and his dark brown eyes gleam yellow once more. I stood there, taking in all he was. "I thought you hated mutants," he whispers.
I am taken back, "What? I think mutants are the most beautiful things in the world."
"It just seemed like..."
"I don't hate mutants." I assure him, "I hate when they take advantage of themselves. Their powers are a gift, but they shouldn't rely on them on a normal basis. Just as humans shouldn't take advantage of mutants, mutants shouldn't take advantage of each other. Powers shouldn't define a person and Xavier should be teaching the students here real-world interactions, not how to be heroes but to live in a world where you can choose not to be one. Imagine a world where neighbors are neighbors no matter what their DNA is composed of. " I freeze once I realize his eyes looking me over.
"And I'm giving a sermon. I'm sorry"
He smiles wide, "No! I like your ambition. It's inspiring." My cheeks heat up, but I don't look away. He licks his lips slowly, his eyes caressing my entire face. "It's late," he says barely believing it, "You should get some sleep." Even though he is telling me to turn away from him he still hasn't let go of my hips.
He is exceedingly taller than I am so I take advantage and grab the side of his face to bring it towards me, kissing lightly on his jawline.
"Goodnight." He whispers dreamily as I disappear behind the door.
I pucker my lips slightly as the feeling of his fur still lingers and makes me shiver. I think this was the first night I've actually been bold in social interaction. Saying it like that doesn't help, now I feel deprived. My surroundings start to appear and I realize I am alone in my room. The electronics in front of me hum as I make my way to the small room hoping a shower will ease my boiling skin and the thoughts of Kurt.
I walk into the room just next to the monitors and see a twin bed, dresser and small bathroom to the right. Not the king's suite, but it looked sanitary enough. I collect the towels and pajamas I had sent from Sanctuary and begin to run the shower.
PING.
I flip off the knob and lean back through the bathroom door, furrowing my brows at the familiar sound. The bedroom light stops just outside the door and a single monitor switches on like a small bubble in the middle of the darkness. I get up in disbelief and walk barefoot to the monitor, not bothering to turn on the rest of the lights in case my ears deceived me. Upon unlocking the computer I swallow hard, keeping my jaw locked and my hands hovering over the keyboard. A single email sits at the top of my screen. There is no subject and the message is short enough to be read in a preview.

Theme Parks and Fireworks
Title: Theme Parks and Fireworks Ship: Alexys/John Doe [Joker] [Self Insert/Canon] Word Count: 2595 Summary: John is determined to take Alexys out on a fun, romantic date. And what better place to do so then an amusement park? Rollercoasters, ice cream, and games...It sounds like the ideal date, but, will she think so?
A/N: A commission for @bad-blue-moon-rising! Sometimes you just need a classic carnival date with ur bf man.
Alexys gazed around the open area, the tips of her toes straining under her weight as she searched desperately for the man she was supposed to meet. While the late night and the weekday date kept the majority of amusement park goers at bay, there was no denying that it was still busy. Couples bustled around her, the chattering of their teeth combined with the echo of theme-park music playing high over speakers around her made her feel trapped despite being out in the open. Anxiety welled and lowered every so often as nerves and excitement combined into the perfect cacophony on the inside of her heart.
It was the first time that John had suggested they go out together on a date in public. Rather, it wasn’t the first time he suggested it. He had suggested it many, many times at a constant rate as they lay together in the safety of either her apartment or his home, fingers entwined while they rested on one another’s shoulders. One thing or another kept coming up to stop them from doing so, of course. A crime scene had John lay low. Work kept Alexys busy, or Bruce Wayne had a particularly free day to spend with his best friend...There was always an excused that felt heavy in their hearts as it kept them from doing things they said that they longed to do with each other.
This weekend, of course, was different. This weekend...they were both free.
Unable to choose the place to go, they had literally filled a small bowl up with scraps of paper and shook it up. John said it would be fun to allow chance to take them wherever it wanted them to go. It was only after she pulled out the note that said ‘amusement park’ that he revealed to her that, in fact, just about all of them had said ‘amusement park’. “I really wanted to go to an amusement park,” Was John’s subtle argument that had Alexys giggling with delight at how sheepishly adorable it all was. Her laughter brightened him up as he leaned forward to find her lips, kissing them as they began to plan their day out.
And now there she was, standing nervously as she waited for John to join her. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea, she second guessed it all with terror in her mind, maybe they had out to reschedule it for another day. There were still so many people, maybe he got lost. Maybe he-
“Alexys!”
A familiar voiced sung her name out with complete adoration. Alexys followed its tone with her eyes, wide and hopeful as she picked out a waving hand through the crowd. She felt her own smile grow in relief upon her lips as she pushed through as politely as she could to get to the man reaching for her. John, on the opposite end of the spectrum, seemed to have no qualms with powering through whoever dared get in his way in an effort to make it towards Alexys.
When they were united, he gripped at her hips and brought her into a kiss, lips forming into smiles as they both laughed while John twirled her around and off of her feet. Her hands, in turn, found their way around John’s neck and held on tight as he swept her up in his greeting. He loved hearing the muffle of her laughter as he kissed her. Feeling the smile on Alexys’ lips as he surprised her was, by far, the greatest thing he had ever felt in his life. John could feel his heart beating ten times faster in his chest than he had thought physically possible. God, was this what being in love felt like? It only made him want to smile more. To make HER smile more as he finally put her down and held her hands to his own chest, eyes twinkling with excitement at the stimulation the world around them provided.
“Sorry I was late,” He informed while simultaneously gazing around at the park before him, “Traffic was absolutely horrible! There was this guy on the freeway and an overthrown pizza cart, it was a nightmare-Oh my god is that a rollercoaster with two loops?!”
Alexys whipped her head around, eyes wide with shock at the sudden change of conversation. Sure enough, the park’s major attraction shone in view of the colorful lights slowly beginning to shine on, enhancing the already mystical feeling of the world they were in. The screams of those riding it could be heard from where they stood, the ground shaking as nearby roller coasters flew by the both of them with practiced, mechanical ease. Alexys could feel her heart thump in the center of her throat, nerves and excitement overwhelming her senses as she looked back at John. She grinned and him and he grinned back, the decision in their minds clear as their thoughts seemed to harmonize together in the base of their stems.
Oh they were getting on that coaster.
The journey to it, of course, would take them all across the park. Alexys was not against stopping at every colorful game and miniature ride that caught their attention and John, oh, John welcomed it. Though their shared goal remained the daunting coaster inching its way closer to them with each and every step, it was easy to drown yourself in the colorful booths that people hyped up. The prizes and the park’s lights were easy to disappear into with every passing moment.
A hand touched at her shoulder, pausing her movements in favor of turning to face her date. John’s eyes were fixated on something else, his gaze locked hard on something far to the side of their original route. She followed his gaze carefully, watching as it lead up to one of the more traditional carnival games in the area. The smiling clown faces winked brightly back at the both of them, animatronic giggles echoing against it as they hummed along to carnival music. Children and adults alike aimed water guns into the center of their faces, the fastest ones filling up the balloons over their head until they burst with water, spraying down near the carnie manager, who laughed and declared the winner.
His eyes tore away to stare at Alexys, the single pleading word in his eyes that she saw with such clearness it almost made her smile with adoration at just how sweet it was for him to ask the permission:
‘Please?’
“We GOTTA try it.” Was her only response.
John laughed, his grin returning two-fold as his hand moved to grip at her own. Alexys smiled, fingers entwined together with his  as the two tugged one another gently along. They arrived in record time, each step feeling like two with the way John chose to jump and move as eagerly as he did. The wonder he found in a world that always felt like it was going to disappear warmed Alexys’ heart. She felt her stomach churn with butterflies and love as she watched him practically dive into the seat of one of the booths, ordering two tries for her and him with a smile so wide it practically stretched his face. Alexys jumped into the seat at her side just in time to witness the face of the booth manager contorted in the stereotypical teenage eye roll that signaled they simply weren’t paid enough to complain about any of this.
“If I win,” John hummed playfully, “You need to buy us ice cream, okay?”
“You mean if I win,” Alexys challenged back with a laugh, “You buy us ice cream AND I get to keep the cool stuffed animal we get.”
“In your dreams,” John snorted, shutting one eye and sticking his tongue out comedically, “I am a trained marksman. A creature of perfect aim. There’s no way you could beat me at my own home game...It was meant for me.”
HIs dramatic money was put where his mouth was when the game started, the balloons filling and filling with endless fuel until at last one burst form the seams. Alexys gasped as water was sprayed down on her, the buzzer above her head signaling her the winner. John gasped, but the look of shock morphed into a laugh and grin as he clapped for her, the prize of one large stuffed bear being handed down in her fingertips. Over the stuffed animal, Alexys grinned wide at her partner.
“What was that about winning again, expert marksman sir?”
“Clearly I’m out of practice,” John huffed dramatically, hand over his heart as he puffed out his chest, “Green Arrow who? I would have won that if your beauty hadn’t distracted me.”
A blush coated her face and Alexys wheezed, hiding her face in the bear’s soft purple fur as John laughed at her reaction, reaching out to stroke her hair with a kiss to her temple. “How about some ice cream to cool that cute face down?”
“Chocolate with extra sprinkles.” Alexys declared in a mumble, using the fur to continue hiding her smile. John saw it anyways, though, and smiled back.
A bought of ice cream altar and the two were walking hand in hand, cones held between grips of their free ones and the bear Alexys had one was huddled between them as she tried to eat her ice cream over it’s massive amalgamation of fur. He couldn’t help but admire how adorable she was, tucked together in his hand with ice cream and a prize almost as big as she was. His face heated up to immeasurable heat as he observed her, grin breaking on his lips as he sighed dreamily at the way she brushed some of her hair out of her face so she could enjoy the ice cream more.
God, he really was in love wasn’t he?
“Oh! John look!” Alexys’ eyes widened and her mouth split into a grin as she pointed down at the massive roller coaster they had initially seen upon their arrival, “It’s there! And the line is short, we have to try it!”
In response, John’s eyes widened with delight as well. Finishing their ice creams as fast as they could, the two made their way to the rollercoaster. Sure enough, they were put on in the next batch of riders, shoes and bear placed in a small and nondescript cubby that the security team kept on the sides for unallowed objects. The strap was put over their bodies, locked in place with a mechanical clicking noise before the announcement of safety blared monotonously over the edge of the speakers around them.
When the ride finally began moving, the lurch in Alexys’ stomach as full fledged and shocking. Her eyes widened as she realized what they were doing. Where they were going. What felt fun in theory was now unnerving in practice to say the least. Her breath quickened as they moved higher and higher, her grip tightening on the ride’s safety bar as she swallowed and looked around. The top was inching closer and, with it, the view of the entire park was breathtaking. Visible from end to end, it shone under them like an ocean of lights and sounds, making everything seem so small compared to where they were.
A hand found hers once again, fingers gripping her own. Alexys turned to face John with wide eyes. He was smiling at her. As the wind whipped against his messy hair, he gazed with such adoration that it almost...surprised her. How could he look so calm when they were so high up? How could he look at her like that? Before she could ask more questions to him in panic, he leaned forward and planted a kiss on her lips, slow and sweet. It tasted like vanilla ice cream and rainbow sprinkles, same as his ice cream order a moment after.
“You look so cute,” He murmured with a grin, “On the top of a roller coaster. I don’t think I’ve ever been more in love.”
There was a moment where she considered getting the words out in return, a smile or giggle...Instead the rollercoaster tipped forward and her stomach went with it, drowning in screaming and laughter as the ride took over both of their senses. Twists and turns lurched them back and forth, filling their minds with adrenaline as both found the courage to wave their hands high above their heads, cheering as the loops sent them careening through the air. Alexys felt the blood in her cheeks as she laughed, bright and excited. Airy and delightful.
The ride came to a halt. Getting out of it was a more dizzying task than not, the both of them stumbling over one another through fits of giggles and light banter as they hugged one another through the exit, bear and shoes back in hand as they escaped the thralls of the park for a moment in favor of sitting down to organize themselves again.
“That was,” Alexys breathed as she tried to find the words through her smile, “intense! And fun, I was so terrified but it was so worth it.”
“Sometimes you need a little adrenaline rush,” John returned, leaning his shoulder on hers with a heavy sigh. She leaned back, eyes shutting for a moment to enjoy the warmth of his form at her side. He was so soft...so kind...and to kiss her on the top of a rollercoaster? It made her smile remembering it.
“Oh, Alexys, look!”
Her eyes opened in time to catch the explosions of light dancing across the sky as the late night fireworks show of the park began to unfold. Each rocket bathed them in several different colors upon their dissipation. She felt her jaw drop in awe at the shapes and sights they created before her eyes. Each display made her stomach clench with delight. Her eyes trailing from the light to the man at her side, she felt her face heat up to see John staring at her. His lips were parted in an awed smile, his eyes narrowed at her in a careful glance.
“Thank-you,” He smiled with sincerity, “For doing this with me...I can’t imagine anyone else I’d want to go on a date like this with.”
Date...though they didn’t use the word out loud, its sudden appearance made Alexys smile with approval. How wonderful it was to have that man to herself...to have that laughter and that sincerity all to her.
Leaning forward, she placed a kiss on his lips. He returned the kiss with equal excitement, their hearts pouring into one another as they shared the moment under the fireworks, the sparks of the world above matching what they felt between one another. It felt like the pieces of a puzzle falling. It felt like the end of a perfect night.
When John pulled away, he rested his forehead on hers. The two sat like that for a while, smiles bright on their faces as he held her hand in his own, bringing it up to kiss her knuckles while taking in a deep breath and sighing gently.
“I love you,” He murmured, “More than rollercoasters and ice cream, I love you Alexys.”
Alexys giggled at the comparison, moving forward to peck his cheek.
“And I love you too.”
To their proclamations, a chorus of fireworks exploded as the grand finale of the park’s last showing.
An explosive end to a perfect night.

Got Scars on Our Future Hearts (But We Never Look Back) [5/7]
Where Carlos keeps disappearing, Evie is scheming something, Mal knows and won’t say and Jay just wants to struggle about his new found crushes in peace.
Alternatively, Carlos is in a secret underground rock band and is totally crushing on Jay. Jay finds out about said secret band and finds the lead totally hot. Evie planned it all from the start and Mal likes watching her emotionally stunted male friends fumble about their love lives as much as she did. (Even more alternatively, the Punk Band AU I talked about with be-a-thief-in-the-night)
Chapters: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
<AO3>
Carlos laughed as he ran off stage, out of breath and hyped up on the adrenaline of a gig.
“Goodness sake, Snowflake,” their bassist, Beck, says as they pull off the plague doctor inspired carnival mask and ruffling their dark hair, “Really pulling for some groupies, huh?”
“Oh shut up Crow.” Carlos replies, using their stage names in case the mics weren't off yet.“You know I've only got eyes on one.”
“And what a tragedy that is.” Elliot comes in with a flourish and a wink, shaking his sweat soaked hair, dropping the motorcycle helmet he used on the couch and sitting beside it with a groan. “You've got too pretty a voice to get all hung up on one person now.”
Harriet comes in and smacks her brother up the head before squeezing in beside him, “As if you'd actually go for it if he was available you dork.”
Elliot rolls his eyes, “I'm trying to teach you, dear sister. Just because I don't want or need any doesn't mean you have to live your life in constant awkward pining.”
“Oh shut up!” Harriet replies, blowing a raspberry in her twin’s direction.
“Still, I can't believe our lil baby singer had the guts to do it.” Kali replies as she gingerly places her guitar on the stand.
Carlos groans, “You act as if I pushed him against a wall and made out with him- “
“And what an image that would've made.” Elliot cuts in cheekily.
“ -thanks Lio- as I was saying, I just dedicated to an anonymous person, I didn't even say his name.” Carlos finishes, exasperated.
“Maybe you should.” Beck says with a grin that reminded Carlos a tad too much of the Isle. “We could set up a club to go with our gig next time. Have you corner the unsuspecting Jock as the party dwindles.”
Beck waggles their eyebrows suggestively and grabs Kali's hand and pulls her into a dip. “Imagine, you, him, bright light, a dark corner.”
Kali laughs as Beck pulls her up into a twirl. Kali sighs dreamily for effect, “You whisper in his ear, and before you know it-”
“BOOM, “ they say together, as Kali extends her hand in a dramatic pose, “He's all flustered and you have him right where you want him.”
They bow dramatically and the twins clap lightly.
“Take him home, maybe ravage him, or the other way around, whichever,” Elliot adds with an eyebrow waggle of his own, “And happily ever after happens.”
Carlos shakes his head and groans into a facepalm, “I regret telling you all about him.”
Beck laughs, “Telling us? Dear, don't pretend you had a choice.”
Carlos sighs and shakes his head, “Ugh, whatever.”
Kali takes pity on him and pats his head, “Don't worry about it too much. But I do think it's a good idea to invite him to our next gig and have it in a place where you can talk to him instead of having to leave immediately.”
Carlos sighs, less exasperated and more defeated, “Yeah, you're right. You sure we can pull that off?”
Beck and the twins have what you can only describe as Cheshire cat grins on their faces, Kali shrugs and looks at him with an expression that said well, what can ya do?
Carlos can already feel the regret climbing up his spine.
Carlos gets back in a simple shirt and some sweatpants. He heads to Evie and Mal’s dorm room. He gives two sharp knocks on the door and out opens to a widely grinning blue haired princess.
“A note, Carlos?” Evie says with a sly smile, “How old fashioned of you.”
“Ugh,” Carlos grunts as he walks in and lets himself fall on one of the beds, “I would've thought the teasing would end at my bandmates.”
Evie somehow snorts like royalty, “Oh please, C, our resident badass wannabees wouldn't have even touched the tip of the teasing iceberg.”
“Honestly, this is the most fun Auradon drama I've seen.” Mal says from her bed with a grin that reminds Carlos of her mom. “Ironically the main characters are VKs, but then again we are the most fun in general.”
Carlos sighs, wanting to steer the conversation away from his train wreck of a romantic conquest. “Beck’s planning an afterparty for the next gig. Thought you guys might want in on it.”
Carlos doesn’t mention that it’s planned deliberately to move his love life forward but he figures he deserves a bit of reprieve before Evie and Mal find out eventually. He sees Evie with a twinkle in her eye and Carlos already knows he’s going to either owe Evie his soul for the rest of his life or regret this with the force of a thousand dying suns. (Okay, so he’s being a tad dramatic. Don’t judge him, Evie’s plans are always over the top since she, and he quotes, “missed out on the prime of my party planning youth because of a certain half fairy.”)
Mal is giving Carlos the stink eye for planting a party planning thought in Evie’s head and turns to face the blue haired princess with a neutral expression.
“Evie…” she starts cautiously as the other girl turns to her excitedly.
“Mal…” Evie says with a sly smile. “You’d do anything for your best girl right?”
“Don’t you drag my affection for you into this!” Mal says, shaking her head violently and giving Evie what could only be called a childish pout. Not that Carlos would ever say that to Mal’s face.
Evie laughs and pats Mal’s cheek. “You know you can’t turn me down, sweet pea.”
Mal growls playfully, wraps her arms around Evie and pulls her down onto the bed. Evie shrieks with laughter, playfully struggling against Mal’s grip, too distracted and breathless from laughing to really try.
Carlos rolls his eyes at the two and decides that it was his time to leave, he says a quick goodbye the girls won’t hear and hops off the bed and out of the room.
Carlos pads silently to their room, a habit that sometimes freaks the Auradon kids out. Heeled shoes aren't exactly quiet and on the Isle quiet is a lifestyle. Although, to think of it, Evie has perfected the art of stiletto sneaking.
Carlos gets to their room and he opens the door, the hinges creak and Carlos’ jaw locks instinctively. He grimaces at the habit as he loosens his jaw. He wonders when he'll be able to stop locking up at the minutest sound when he's alone, reacting like he's still afraid of a slap to the face for existing.
(He guesses it would be when he actually feels that it's ok for him to exist.)
He opens the door wide and sees Jay sitting up on his own bed, eyes alert and muscles coiled like snake readying to strike. Jay visibly relaxes into a smile when he sees Carlos. A part of Carlos is relieved that he wasn’t the only one with remnants of the Isle in him, the other part is angry that someone as precious as Jay had to live with the Isle marking him.
“Sup, Pup.” Jay says, raising a hand lazily, heavily contrasting the attack-mode he was in earlier.
“Hey, Jay.” Carlos says as he closes the door, walks over to his bed and sits down.
“You alright, C?” Jay says with a worried tone, Carlos looks up in surprise and is startled by the pouty look on Jay’s face, “You look exhausted.”
Adoration bubbles in Carlos’ chest, he couldn’t believe Jay would bother worrying about him, Carlos kicks off his shoes in an effort to get his mind busy and keep his tone light. “Uh- I-I’m fine. New project is’all, keeping us up.”
Carlos looks at his abandoned shoes like they’re the most interesting thing and Jay frowns, worry lines deepening before shaking his head.
“Oh, that’s cool.” Jay says with a strained smile Carlos misses, “Just… don’t go around collapsing.”
Carlos feels a blush starting, which is honestly the stupidest thing seeing as he sung the dude a love song just a couple of hours earlier. Carlos looks up and smiles at Jay, “Thanks, Jay. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure I can handle it better than the Auradon kids.”
“Course you can.” Jay says with a snort, “You'd be hurtin’ the VK pride if you didn't.”
Carlos laughs, it was nice to be able to banter with Jay like this. It's been awhile since they weren't both either asleep or busy. That afternoon was actually the first time in a couple of months that they really got to hang out together and now that the rush of the show was fading from Carlos’ veins, he realized that he really missed the older boy. Even on the Isle where Mal and Jay were more frequently out thieving together whilst Carlos and Evie worked on the logistics side of things. When it came down to it, the moment the four of them were in a room, Jay had managed to squeeze into whatever makeshift beanbag Carlos was on, chattering idly about his thoughts and Evie was off to sweet talk Mal into whatever plan she had come up with to get whatever thing she wanted. Honestly, Jay's existence was entwined into Carlos’ life and if it were up to the younger, it would ne-
“Earth to Carlos.”
Carlos blinks as his train of thought stops suddenly. “Huh?”
Jay looks at him with a mixture of fondness and amusement, “Off to lala land again?”
Carlos shrugs and smiles, “Just thinking about how it's been awhile since we got to hang out together. Just us.”
Jay looks startled, mouth opening and closing a couple of times like a fish out of water.
Carlos laughs, embarrassed, “Cat got your tongue?”
Jay looks like how speechless feels before he snaps out of it, “W-wait, are you saying you want us to go out- hang, hang out together?”
“Course,” Carlos says, “Just ‘cause I've got new friends doesn't mean they're higher on the list than you, bro.”
Jay looks taken aback before giving a grin that Carlos has figured made every vaguely interested person swoon on the spot. Carlos manages not to through sheer willpower and built up tolerance over the years.
“Hah, of course I am.” Jay says with faux confidence, “Best bros for life dude.”
They both go quiet.
Jay looks down and speaks up, “I just figured, you'd be better off with the Auradon kids.”
Carlos frowns and sits beside the older boy, nudging the other's shoulder, “Hey, I might not be the most evil but we're VKs for life, right? Ain't nobody but us could really get it.”
Jay grins, “Cause we’re rotten.”
Carlos laughs at the old phrase, “To the core.”

The sound of your fingers tapping on the letters of your keyboard blended with the somewhat quiet ambience of your job’s office. There were a few murmurs from gossiping colleagues and the occasional ring of a phone, but you felt nothing but content in your small cubicle.
It had been a month since you left your native country to pursue your dream career. Once you finished grad school, you decided you wanted a change of environment, so you searched for a city that could provide you with multiple opportunities.
That city turned out to be London.
Quite naturally, your parents were a bit nervous knowing fully well that their beloved daughter would be finally leaving their nest. Nonetheless, they supported your decision with the comfort of knowing that you would be fine on your own.
A small smile decorated your face as you complimented yourself mentally for making such a big move towards a brighter future. You just knew your life would be amazing.
As you finished typing up a report for your latest project, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You stopped momentarily and turned around to see your good friend Gina grinning at you.
“Hey, Gina. I see you’re in a great mood today,” you mentioned, returning a grin of your own.
“Absolutely, because I’m dragging you out this weekend!” Gina exclaimed somewhat loudly, clearly excited about something.
Gina was often known to be very moody and rather strange. She didn’t like to socialize with her co-workers unless she was forced to interact with them regarding work matters, but something about the manner in which she carried herself was quite alluring. She attracted attention wherever she went, even though she clearly did not want it. Men seem to stumble over their tongues when speaking to her and women blushed coyly in her presence.
Plus, she was freaking rich.
Like, “I could buy Queen Elizabeth and her family freaking rich,” as stated by Gina herself. You weren’t actually sure that was possible, but then again, Gina usually told the truth.
And yet, she chose to work here and associate herself with you. You have no idea why she liked you, but you weren’t complaining. It was nice having a friend here in London.
“What did you have mind?” you asked.
“Remember how you told me a while ago that you always wanted to attend a masquerade party?” Gina asked as she watched your eyes grow wide.
“Oh my God! Are we going to one?” you squealed happily as your friend giggled at your behavior.
“Yes, I was recently invited by a good friend of mine. He’s the one who’s throwing the party,” Gina replied.
“I didn’t know you had other friends besides me,” you joked causing Gina to poke you in the shoulder.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” Gina responded somewhat seriously, “but I like you, so you’ll definitely learn more things.”
You smiled at your friend’s small confession. You felt a little warmth in your heart, happy that you were making a decent impression on Gina. This was definitely going to be a great weekend.
But before your friend could leave your cubicle, there was a question lingering on your mind.
“Gina, I was wondering about something. Why do we always go out at night? I literally never see you during the day.”
A neatly-shaped eyebrow lifted on Gina’s face.
“What are you talking about, silly? Yes, you do. Aren’t I here at work right now?”
“Yeah,” you sighed exasperatedly, “but I mean like outside, walking-down-the-street-when-the-sun-is-out. I mean, you literally get picked up in the basement and you only go out when it’s cloudy or pitch dark.
You felt a manicured finger on your lip and blushed. Even Gina had you flustered with her actions sometimes.
“Shush and just accept it, woman,” Gina smirked mischievously. “The sun isn’t kind to everyone.”
You pouted at your friend and watched as she winked and walked away. Yeah, you’re going to drag her ass outside one of these “sunny” days.
Friday had finally arrived and as soon as the clock hit 4:00pm, Gina snatched you up from your cubicle and led you straight to the basement of your job’s building. There, her driver waited patiently and opened the door to the back of the limo once you were close enough.
As soon as the limo had pulled off, you had learned that the masquerade party that you both were invited to was a word-of-mouth thing. Only the wealthy, powerful, and most attractive people were invited by the host. The only way you had a chance to be included was if one of these people brought you along as a “plus one.”
Luckily for you, you were just that.
After a while, the both of you were dropped off at a high-end fashion boutique. Once you walked into the store, you were absolutely blown away by the beautiful formal wear (and prices) being displayed. One dress in particular caught your eye.
It was a lacy dress that was short and playful in the front and long and luxurious in the back, almost like a modern-day ballroom dress. The top of the dress was heart-shaped and it hugged the waist of the mannequin as the bottom portion billowed down towards the floor. The back of the dress had a rather dramatic plunge line, which displayed the milky back of the mannequin.
It was perfect, but with the salary you had, it was impossible to buy it.
“That’s a beautiful dress. Do you like it?” Gina asked as she examined the material.
“I do, but I’m going to have to find something more within my price range,” you sighed as you stared longingly at the dress.
“Excuse me,” Gina called out to one of the saleswomen. “Can my friend fit on this dress?”
You lifted an eyebrow at Gina’s question.
“What’s the point of me trying on a dress I can’t even buy?” you grumbled slightly. Gina simply giggled at your behavior.
“Did you think I was just shopping for me? I can’t be the only one just stunting on all these people.”
“Holy shit, are you serious?” you looked at her in shocked. “Plus, I didn’t even know they used the word stunting here…”
“Of course, I’m serious,” Gina said as she flipped her hair smoothly, causing the nearby saleswomen to sigh dreamily. “Like I said before, you’re my friend and I take care of people I like.”
You brought Gina into a bear hug, causing her to hug you back even tighter.
“You’re freaking awesome, you know that?” you complimented as you pretended to cry dramatically.
“Hell yes, I am.”
~~~~~~
The next day was spent prepping for the party. You went to a relaxing spa with your wealthy friend where you both got your nails, hair, and makeup done. It felt so nice to be pampered for a change.
Eventually, the sun said its farewell for the day and moon and stars came to greet all those whom they shined upon. The limo that both you and Gina were currently in pulled up unexpectedly to rather large castle. You were rather surprised, previously assuming that the party would be held at a public building or at a fancy estate, but never a goddamn castle.
Magic was truly in the air tonight.
“Nervous?” Gina smirked as she watched your face with amusement.
“Honestly, a little. I didn’t know it was going to be in a castle...” you trailed off, admiring the beauty of the ancient building.
“Oh, that…the host lives there.”
“WHAT?!” came your surprised response.
Once the driver had opened the door to the limo, both you and Gina put on your elaborate masquerade masks and stepped out of the vehicle. The two of you walked over to the entrance where bodyguards were checking guests off their list. Gina briefly mentioned both of your names and guards granted you both access inside the lavish castle.
As you followed Gina towards the area where the party was being held, you marveled at the sheer size of the castle’s interior. The hallways were wide and spacious, but the guests who chattered and laughed among themselves filled the potential emptiness. The walls and ceilings were as pristine as marble and the intricate gold patterns that resided on the hard surface showered the building in richness. Old portraits of people long gone hung with pride along the walls as lit candles bathed the building in warm light. Smooth red carpet ran along shiny floors, leading you both to the area of the main event.
You couldn’t believe the room that you had stepped into. Your friend’s claims about a masquerade party was actually a masquerade ball along the lines of a circus. Scattered across the room were acrobatic performers who put on wondrous acts on their circular podiums. Some were fire breathing and swallowing swords while others contorted their bodies in odd and sometimes erotic poses. As you walked among the guests who seemed to float about the room in their colorful carnival masks and outfits, you almost missed the aerial silk performers that hung from the ceilings.
Everything was absolutely pleasing and marvelous to your eyes. Never have you thought something as amazing as this place had existed. Even the food on the banquet tables and the wine that swirled haphazardly in glasses of guests were enticing.
“So what do you think, Y/N?” Gina asked as she pulled you out of your daze. “Is it what you expected?”
“Is it what I expected?!” you choked, your excitement getting to you. “This place is freaking amazing.”
“Well, expect more parties like this. My friend is always hosting these,” Gina winked.
Before you could ask who exactly her friend was, a dark-haired man with a black and white mask approached her.
“Ah, Gina. Looking beautiful as always,” the man complimented with a smooth accent.
“Hey, Renaldo,” Regina replied as they both greeted one another with a kiss on the cheek. “How was the Maldives?”
“Fantastic. Just what I needed to get away from this place,” Renaldo explained as he gave a dazzling smile. “It’s been hectic since my partner and I decided to merge our company.”
“I hope the weather treated you well,” Gina grinned as the man chuckled. “I heard the sun is quite harsh over there.”
“It is, but I was well accommodated, so I had very little to worry about,” the man winked before setting his sights on you. “So, I see you brought a friend along.”
“Yes, indeed I have. Renaldo, this is my good friend Y/N. We work at the same company together.”
The man nodded at you and you smiled back somewhat shyly.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” you said politely.
“Likewise, Ms. Y/N,” Renaldo smirked. “If you don’t mind, I’d like to have a dance with your companion. I missed her dearly.”
“Oh, Renaldo. Always the dramatic,” Gina laughed. “Make sure to have fun while I’m away, Y/N!”
Before you could say anything more, you watched Gina being whisked away into the boisterous crowd with her friend. The multitudes of colors and dancing guests prevented you from seeing where they had both gone.
And just like that, you began to feel small.
The people around you were unnaturally attractive. You weren’t sure whether it was from possible plastic surgery or being fed the healthiest of food, but it was strange how there were a lack of people who looked…well normal. Power and wealth radiated off them, as if they were all above the common masses. Yet the way they presented themselves made you briefly wonder what it would be like in their shoes.
Nonetheless, you felt like you did not belong there, regardless of being invited by one of the elite themselves. You really liked Gina, but you weren’t like her and the people who danced around you. You were so caught up in your small moment of distress, you almost didn’t feel the gentle tap on your shoulder. Spinning around, your breath became trapped in your chest once your eyes landed on the stranger before you.
Never in your life had your eyes beheld a man so beautiful. His all black suit contrasted sharply against the pale color of his skin as shaggy brown hair sat atop his head. A single earring hung from one of his ears as rings graced his slender fingers. The crowning piece of his formal outfit was the metal mask that covered the top portion of his eyes. The mask had several sharp, jagged edges as opposed to the gentle curling lines that ran along the surface of the mask. It was made quite beautifully, as if a master blacksmith had created it himself, but what really sold you was the man’s eyes.
Scarlet red eyes, framed by black eyeliner stared deep into your soul, causing you to grow bashful from their intensity. A boyish grin grew on his lips, seemingly pleased with the effect he had on you.
“I’m sorry, miss. I saw you standing alone and couldn’t help but think that a gorgeous woman such as yourself should be having fun,” he complimented, causing you to grow warm.
“Gorgeous?” you questioned, not expecting that sort of comment from a man that would slay you in a beauty contest.
“Absolutely. What? You don’t think you are?” the man teased, causing you to blush.
“It’s not that…it was just a bit unexpected,” you admitted as you watched him carefully.
“If that’s the case, could I continue to lavish you with compliments for the rest of the night?” he asked confidently, moving closer to stand in front of you.
At this point, you weren’t even sure you were going to survive the night. This man didn’t even give you a damn minute to get acclimated with the place.
“But I don’t even know you,” you said somewhat hesitantly, even though you already knew you wanted to spend all night partying with the guy.
You felt his hand slide into one of your own as he brought it up to his face. Your eyes widened at his subtle movements.
“My name is Lu Han,” he replied as he brought soft lips to the back of your hand. “If want to know me, say the words and I promise you won’t regret it.”
You felt eyes from some of the guests watching the interaction between you and Lu Han. What was so interesting about watching a guy romancing the dress off some random woman? You decided to say the magic words, regardless of the looks and whispers that swirled around the two of you.
“Can I get to know you, Lu Han?” you asked, entranced by the ethereal being that stood before you.
“You will,” Lu Han smiled as he pulled you slowly through the crowd of partygoers, “but first, let’s dance for a bit.”
The two of you arrived at the center of the room where a flurry of people spun to a classical song. Lu Han carefully guided you to an empty spot before placing a hand on your hip while holding your hand with the other. You were grateful that Gina had prepared you for this sort of dance although it had been difficult getting the footwork down.
The two of you blended among the swirling guests as the music took control of your bodies. The tension between you and Lu Han gradually faded as a much lighter tone filled you both with delight. You weren’t expecting to have this much fun with a man you just met, but you couldn’t help joining in with his contagious laughter. It was as if the two of you were drunk on pure bliss.
Song after song, you twirled around the room with Lu Han, forgetting that you were among other guests. The glee that graced his angelic face as the two of you danced made your heart skip harder than any man had done.
After a while your aching feet brought your dancing marathon to a stop, but you still had all the intention of getting to know Lu Han. The two of you found yourselves at a relatively quiet part of the room where some guests lingered away from the ruckus of the party. Seeing an empty loveseat, both you and Lu Han walked over and sat down. A contented sigh left your lips as a small chuckle came from Lu Han. You looked over at him curiously, wondering why he had laughed.
“What’s so funny?” you asked as his eyes met yours.
Shifting in his seat to face you, you watched as a smile danced on his face.
“You’re all tuckered out although the night is still young,” Lu Han snickered as he watched you pout.
“Of course I am. We’ve been dancing back to back without a break,” you responded. “I mean, why aren’t you out of breath?”
“Simple. I don’t get as tired as you do,” Lu Han replied smartly, holding back another laugh when he seen you frown.
“Oh, so you’re one of those smart alecks, always cracking wise-ass remarks,” you said.
Quickly clamping a hand over your mouth, you felt embarrassed, thinking you had insulted the mysterious man. You were having so much fun, you completely forgot you were in a room of people that could actually make your life a living hell if you rubbed them the wrong way.
Lu Han smirked at your reaction and slowly pulled your hand away from your mouth. You watched him quietly as he held your hand in his for the third time that night.
“I see you’re both beautiful and bold,” Lu Han smirked as his thumb rubbed the back of your hand soothingly. “A lovely combination, I must add.”
“Lu Han…” you began, unsure of what to say next to the attractive male.
“Would you like to start getting to know me?” Lu Han asked with a subtle tone of eagerness, almost as if he wanted to please you.
Smiling at him, you nodded.
“I think that’s a great idea. Should we take off our masks?” you questioned, anxious to see his entire face.
Lu Han answered your question by removing his mask, causing you to follow suit. Once the masks had been removed, the two of you looked up and locked eyes. The tension between the two of you slowly returned as the both of you stared at one another.
Seeing him without the mask, in your opinion, was a blessing. You knew he was attractive to begin with, but this was definitely unfair. His features were soft and delicate like that of a prince and you wanted nothing more than to run your fingers along the smooth surface of his cheek. You were left breathless, not understanding how this masterpiece was sitting in front of you.
“Wow…” was all you could say. It was impossible for you to form words at the moment.
“I thought I was the one giving compliments tonight…” Lu Han whispered, seemingly caught in a daze as well. You noticed his cheeks becoming slightly pink, causing you to wonder if you had done that to him.
“Um, so it seems we accomplished step one,” you mentioned, trying to recover from your daze. Lu Han laughed at your comment.
“It seems we have, but before we continue, I would love to get your name.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” you exclaimed, realizing that you hadn’t shared that important information with him. “It’s Y/N.”
“Y/N…” Lu Han spoke quietly, relishing how it sounded on his tongue. “What would you like to know about me?”
“Hmm, what do you do for a living?”
“I travel the world and host elaborate parties for the wealthy,” Lu Han replied, watching as your eyes widened in surprise.
“That sounds pretty cool,” you gasped excitedly. “Did you just happen to throw this party too? ‘Cause I mean, it’s pretty elaborate.”
“I did,” Lu Han answered proudly. “Do you like it?”
“I love it,” you nodded. “I bet the guy you threw this for is certainly pleased.”
“Oh, I am. I got to meet you because of it.”
You froze suddenly, the statement throwing you off guard. Lu Han smiled mischievously, loving all the reactions that you had been giving him throughout the night. He found you entertaining.
“You mean to tell me that you’re the owner of this castle?” you asked carefully, not prepared for the answer you knew you’d receive.
“Yes and you are welcome to visit anytime as well as attend any party I throw,” Lu Han replied genuinely.
“Holy shit.”
As the night went on, you continued your conversation with Lu Han. The party raged on without any signs of stopping, but it had been long forgotten by the two of you. The eagerness of wanting to know each other was on a much deeper level then spinning around the room and being in a drunken stupor.
You learned that Lu Han had moved to London from Beijing years ago. His services were often in demand in Europe, so he decided that it was wise to move to London. He mentioned that it had taken him a while to adjust to ways of his new environment, but he eventually grew to love it. Still, Beijing was his ancestral home, so he bought a flat in the bustling city just in case he had grown homesick.
He had continued to mention that he had come from a long line of merchants. His family’s wealth had been established due to their success in the wine industry. As for Lu Han, he was more interested in attending and hosting lavish parties that brought together people from far and wide. Using his family’s wealth, he created a professional hosting business that attracted all types of people who simply wanted to have a good time.
The secret to his success was the “word-of-mouth” aspect of his business. The public wasn’t aware of it due to the fact that it was secretly spread among the elite as well as anybody else that had connections. It was a rather risky move, considering that most businesses relied on the public, but Lu Han didn’t appear to have a problem being successful. People were naturally curious and usually liked the idea of being involved in something that the public had no inkling of.
After a long night of deep conversation and excitable dancing, the masquerade party came to a gradual end. You watched from the crowd as Lu Han thanked his guests for such a marvelous time. You didn’t miss how his red eyes landed on you as the guests erupted into a loud cheer for their charming host. As the guests began to file out of the room, you heard your name being called.
“I see you met my friend Lu Han,” Gina teased as she walked over to you. “The two of you seemed quite cozy over there on that loveseat.”
“We were just talking,” you said bashfully. “He’s a really cool guy.”
“He can be quite the flirt, so watch yourself,” Gina warned jokingly. “A lot of women are interested in him. They wouldn’t hesitate to throw themselves at his feet.”
You pouted slightly at her comment. Of course women would be attracted to Lu Han. He was handsome and rich; someone you knew you didn’t stand a chance with. Maybe you were a little in over your head thinking he would be interested in you.
As you and Gina prepared to leave, you felt someone tap your shoulder. You turned around and found Lu Han smiling at you. His mannerism now slightly different from when you had met him earlier.
“I hope you had a wonderful evening,” Lu Han said as he watched your face light up.
“I did! Thank you so much for having me and keeping me company for the night, unlike someone,” you teased, causing Gina to roll her eyes playfully.
“I see you’re friends with Gina,” Lu Han mentioned. “Make sure she doesn’t get you into trouble.”
“I should be telling her that,” Gina laughed. “You’re the one who’s a handful. I’ll have to keep you from corrupting her.”
The three of you chuckled. You felt that all of you were bonding nicely. Maybe, you could all hang out sometime in the future.
“Well, I guess we should be heading out,” you began, although you wanted to continue talking to Lu Han.
“Can I see you again?” Lu Han inquired as he stepped closer to you.
Gina snickered as she watched you grow shy under Lu Han’s piercing stare.
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you answered truthfully.
Maybe you did have a chance with him.
“Then I’ll see you at the next party,” Lu Han grinned.
~~~~~~
From that very night, you had received several personal invites from Lu Han to attend his wild and fantastical parties. You found yourself getting dolled up almost every weekend with Gina until it had become routine.
The parties that Lu Han had were never boring. It was like every party that he threw had a different theme: Roaring Twenties, Arabian Nights, All-White Affairs, etc. You couldn’t understand how someone could come up with so many ideas. Even the forms of entertainment that he provided amazed you because you hadn’t even heard of some of them. No wonder so many people hired him to host their parties.
Although the parties were always a blast, you had the most fun partying with Lu Han. It astonished you as to how he was able to find you each time in a large crowd of party-goers. Your outfits and hairstyles were different each time, making it difficult for any average person to recognize you. But then again, Lu Han was anything but average.
You and Lu Han had become inseparable. Gina purposely began to leave you as she ran off with Renaldo for the night. She had slyly mentioned more than once that you and Lu Han would be cute together, causing your face to heat up each time. From that point and on, she made it her mission to leave you alone with Lu Han. Regardless, it didn’t bother you. You never had an uncomfortable moment with him.
As you spent more time with Lu Han, you realized that he was much more than just a confident flirt. He always took the time to chat with you after dancing and never left you out of any conversations with his flamboyant friends. He was a good listener, always paying attention to the small details of your life and never finding anything that you said boring.
His affections also didn’t go unnoticed. Back hugs became his way of greeting you whenever you came to his parties. At first, it had scared you, causing you to almost scream bloody murder in the middle of his ballroom. As time went by, it was expected and you were more than happy to have his slender arms wrapped around your body.
Another night had come and you found yourself back at Lu Han’s castle for another event. Once you had reached the ballroom with Gina, she ran off with Renaldo. You were pretty sure they were dating at this point, although Gina had repeatedly denied this. As you looked around the room for Lu Han, a man with red hair approached you.
“Hello, madam. Would you care to have this dance with me?” the man asked sweetly.
You were a little disappointed that it wasn’t Lu Han, but you obliged anyway. One dance with a stranger couldn’t hurt and plus, he seemed pretty nice.
You danced to a couple of songs with the red-headed man, idly chatting with him as you both spun around the room. You were somewhat distracted, looking around as you tried to get a glimpse of your favorite party host. Once the current song came to an end, you excused yourself, mentioning that you needed to use the restroom.
You left the noisy ballroom and headed down a dimly lit hallway. You had never needed to use the bathroom at Lu Han’s home, considering that you were invited to other parties at different locations. You knew it was stupid not asking for directions to the bathroom, but you were slightly curious about the castle in which Lu Han lived in.
As you wandered along the spacious corridors, you noticed this part of the castle was much older compared to where the party was being held. It also felt much chiller in the area, causing goosebumps to appear on your exposed arms. Moving further into the castle, you noticed that the end of the corridor was much darker and you could barely make out anything. The only thing that caught your eye was the sliver of light that shone through the crack of a slightly ajar door. Hearing a bit of commotion coming from that direction, you cheered quietly knowing that you had been successful in finding a bathroom in such a large building.
Walking closer to the door, your steps began to falter from the strange string of sounds emanating from the room. It wasn’t the familiar sounds of bathroom gossip, flushing toilets, and running water. These sounds were more provocative and sinful, causing your face to grow warm.
Maybe you were just hearing things? Or maybe someone was here in the castle watching television? Still, it didn’t explain why they weren’t at the party. From what you knew, no one but Lu Han lived here.
Curiosity gripped your being and you forced yourself to move in order to investigate the odd noises. After what felt like a century, you found yourself at the door. Your heart began to race as anxiety replaced your curiosity. Quietly, you peered through the small crack of the door and almost bit down on your lip to silence yourself from what your eyes beheld.
You saw several people within the room as loud moans came from those who were tangled up in rather compromising positions. Desire permeated the room as women and men kissed, touched, and fucked one another in a lust-drunken orgy. Although the amount of sex that took place was filthier than anything you had witnessed, it was the amount of blood that covered the participants that left you coated in cold sweat.
The smell was repugnant, fresh and drying blood coated the walls, the bed, the floors, and the people who seemed unbothered as they vocalized their pleasure. Had they just killed someone and decided to fuck each other silly in the copious amount of blood from their victim? There had to be a dead body in that room. That was the only explanation for this horror show, but the small puncture wounds on the necks of some of the lusty participants had you questioning your sanity.
Trails of scarlet trickled down from the small wounds as people in the room abandoned all inhibition with their lovers. You couldn’t control the rapid flicker of your eyes as it darted from one shocking thing to the next in that disgusting room. Your eyes only stilled when it landed on someone familiar.
Long hair bounced against a woman’s back as she rode a man beneath her vigorously on the bed. Others laid sprawled out around her, seemingly tired from blood loss or possibly from having their turn with the energetic woman. Broken moans fell past her lips as the man below gripped her waist tightly and thrusted into her sharply. Finally reaching her peak, she tilted her head back as an inhuman growl echoed from her throat. Baring a pair of razor sharp canines, she lowered her head and plunged her fangs into her lover’s neck. A deep groan left the man’s mouth as he slapped her ass sharply.
“God Gina, you really know how to fuck someone,” praised the man who turned out to be Renaldo.
“And I’ll continue doing so until I break you,” Gina purred as she licked the blood that began to dripped down the side of her lip.
Having seen enough of the nauseating event that took place, you were about to leave until you heard a familiar voice.
“Off dancing with other people? I’m hurt,” came Lu Han’s joking tone, unaware of what you saw.
You screamed loudly, frightened by how close Lu Han was to you as well as by what you had witnessed. It grew even louder when you also noticed the unnatural glow of his eyes in the dark hallway.
Alarmed by your behavior, Lu Han took a step back so as not to make you uncomfortable. Concern settled on his face as his eyes roamed over you to make sure you were alright. Wanting to comfort you, he reached out to you, but you stepped further away from him.
“Y/N, what wrong?” Lu Han asked as he tried to remain calm.
“Stay the hell away from me!” you yelled, your fear appearing as utter rage.
Before Lu Han could say anything, the door to the room opened and several people looked out to see the commotion that had ruined their private orgy. Pushing some people aside, Gina came out angrily in a bloody robe as Renaldo followed close behind. Apparently, he couldn’t be bothered to cover himself up.
Gina’s glowing eyes widened when she realized that you were the one who had screamed. An unsettling feeling cramped her belly, fearing that you had possibly seen the raunchy activities that she had often indulged in.
“Y/N?” Gina called out gently, not wanting to upset you further.
“Don’t…” you began as you looked at her sharply. “I don’t know what you people are, but don’t talk to me again. The both of you.”
“But…” Lu Han started, wanting to clear up the situation, although he knew that the damage had been done.
You didn’t even let him speak as you ran past him. Lu Han and Gina called out to you in a desperate attempt to stop you, but you ignored them. You ran as fast as you could in your heels and exited the castle, despite getting odd looks from some of the party-goers. As soon as you felt that you were at a safe distance from the castle, you pulled out your phone from your clutch purse and called a cab. Growing nervous, you prayed that one would arrive before Lu Han and Gina came looking for you.
You were done with everything. You were done with the partying and with both Lu Han and Gina. All you wanted to do was just make friends and have fun. You didn’t leave your home just to come here and have everything go to shit because your “friend” liked to take part in bloody orgies or maybe even murders. Even worse, the host allowed that to go on in his own home.
Back at the mansion, Lu Han and Gina tried to figure out how to clean up the mess that they had made of their friendship with you.
“You shouldn’t have let her go, Lu Han,” Gina said angrily, not at the fact that he had let you leave, but because she might have destroyed a bond with someone that she had cared about.
“And what? Hold her hostage?” Lu Han bit back, failing miserably at keeping his demeanor calm. “You shouldn’t have used that room for your activities. That’s what the upper floors are used for.”
“She might go to the police and tell them what she saw,” Gina countered. “She probably thinks we killed someone, especially with the way that room looked.”
“She won’t,” Lu Han replied, mostly trying to convince himself that you wouldn’t do such a thing. “And if she did, do you think anyone would believe her? They’d probably think she had a little too much to drink tonight.”
“Still, as much as we care for her, we can’t have her roaming around with a secret like this,” Gina spat out nervously. “Hell, only a small amount of people in this castle know what we are.”
“Fine. I’ll talk to her,” Lu Han convinced, not liking where the conversation was going. “But killing her or turning her is out of the question.”
“Jesus, Lu Han. Kill her?” Gina asked incredulously. “The most I would do, is probably turn her, but I’m not a freaking monster nor I would insinuate anything regarding killing her. I would never hurt her.”
“Good, because we can’t have shit going down like we did in the past,” came Lu Han’s cryptic tone as he recalled many memories of violence.  “And she doesn’t deserve to suffer like that.”
“You really like her, don’t you?” Gina asked quietly, watching as Lu Han balled his fists in frustration.
Lu Han sighed heartbrokenly and nodded, causing a small smile to appear on Gina’s lips. He did have feelings for you and because of that, he was determined to make things right with you.
~~~~~~
You sat alone at a table in the small café near your apartment as you waited for your order. It had been three weeks since you had last been at the castle. You had trouble sleeping, the images of what took place had invaded your dreams and turned them into complete nightmares. You were no longer dreaming about dancing with Lu Han, but instead of monsters that torn you to shreds with their teeth and splattered your blood on the walls of your bedroom. It didn’t help that Lu Han was still sending invitations which seemed more like handwritten apologies as he begged to speak with you.
Work was also terrible. You could no longer enjoy your dream job since you still had to work in the same office with Gina. Although Gina had respected your wishes to keep her distance, you still tried to avoid her as best as you could. You didn’t dare look in her direction, afraid of seeing those glowing red eyes that haunted you every day. You never saw the expression of loneliness that was written on her face, but you always caught the bouts of anger she displayed towards the other workers in the office.
The waitress brought over your coffee and you mumbled your thanks. As you drank the hot liquid, you ignored the bell that rang as the door opened. Too agitated to worry about other people, you barely registered the person who had entered the shop and was making their way over to you.
“Is this seat taken?”
Your blood ran cold at the sound of the gentle, but familiar voice. You swallowed hard before looking up to see blood red eyes staring back at you, carefully gauging your reaction. Without a word, you stood up quickly, grabbed your bag, and walked past Lu Han without giving him so much as a glance. You ignored the cashier at the register who tried to tell you that you hadn’t paid for your coffee.
Exiting the shop, you began to make your way down the sidewalk hurriedly. Before you could get any farther, you felt a warm hand grab your arm. You began panicking when you turned around and saw Lu Han holding you. You wanted to scream, but you didn’t want to cause a scene in the middle of the busy sidewalk although people were glancing at the two of you. They probably thought the two of you were having a lovers’ quarrel.
“Please don’t go, Y/N,” Lu Han pleaded with you. “I’ve been looking all over for you. Let me just explain myself.”
“Are you stalking me now? There’s nothing you can say that will make this better,” you argued, not wanting to hear him out. “Let me go.”
“No, I won’t,” Lu Han responded firmly. “Not until you let me explain what happened. If you decide you don’t want to be around the two of us, then we won’t bother you anymore.”
You studied his face for a moment with a bit of uncertainty. You weren’t convinced he’d stop bothering you, considering the fact the he ignored your request to leave you alone. Plus, the two of you were in public, so he wouldn’t dare try anything.
“Fine,” you answered begrudgingly as you snatched your arm out of his grip, “but if you try anything, I swear I will contact the police.”
Lu Han let out a shaky breath, grateful that you were finally giving him the opportunity to speak. The two of you headed back to the somewhat empty café and entered the building. Before going to your original spot, you went to apologize to the cashier for running out. When you were about to pay for your unfinished coffee, Lu Han took out a few bills and paid for you. You wanted to yell at him, but you kept your mouth shut.
Finally, the two of you sat down at the table and there was a couple of seconds of silence between you both. Getting tired of waiting for him to explain himself, you were the first to talk.
“Is that something you and Gina normally engage in?” you asked, somewhat disgusted.
Lu Han’s eyes widened, not expecting you to ask him that. He was expecting a question along the lines of “What are you?”
“That’s more of Gina’s kind of fun. I’m pretty monogamous,” Lu Han explained.
“And the blood? How exactly do you explain that?”
“Um, about that. There’s really no good explanation for that,” Lu Han admittedly sheepishly, “but I promise you we didn’t kill anyone. A lot of it was actually animal blood.”
“That’s really weird, you know that right?” you asked him, thinking he was a complete psychopath at this point. “Why even do that?”
“Let me put it this way. As vampires, we like to indulge ourselves in pleasurable things. One of those things is blood, for obvious reasons.”
“Are you serious?” you asked a little too loudly causing Lu Han to shush you. You rolled your eyes, but lowered your voice. “Vampires? I don’t believe you.”
“Well how else do you explain the puncture marks in those people’s necks? Or even our eyes?” Lu Han replied defensively.
“Make up and contacts, genius,” you responded, causing Lu Han to huff loudly.
“You’re so unbelievable, Y/N. I’m trying to explain this to you and all you do is just brush me off.”
“You’re calling me unbelievable? You’re the one calling yourself a vampire and having bloody orgies in your damn home.”
The both of you looked at each other heatedly, not knowing what to say next. The whole situation was ridiculous and hard to believe, but you knew deep down that Lu Han was telling you the truth. It bothered you to no end.
“Why do you allow that to go on in your home?” you asked much quieter, hating how loud your voice sounded in such silence.
“I’m a person that aims to please himself and others. If my guests and customers want to indulge in something pleasurable such as orgies, I will allow it. If they want a night of drunken revelry, I will provide them with wine. If they want to get away from their troubles, I’ll create a place in which they can forget them. Everyone has something that makes them happy.”
“So what do you want Lu Han?” you asked the vampire before you. “What makes you happy?”
“You,” Lu Han answered confidently as he took in your surprised expression.
The feelings of butterfly wings tickled the inside of your stomach as his confession repeated over and over in your head. You had missed the sensation of warmth that his words always seemed to give you. Why the hell are you acting like a little girl? You supposed to be pissed at him.
“Yeah right,” you replied, causing Lu Han to shake his head.
He could read you clear as day. He knew that you liked him just as much as he liked you. He wasn’t about to give up just because you were being stubborn.
“Fine. Let me prove it.”
“How exactly?”
“Let me date you.”
“Wait, what?” you sputtered, causing Lu Han to smirk.
“Are you afraid to date a vampire?” Lu Han teased, causing you to frown.
“No! That’s not it!” you countered although your flushed appearance gave you away.
“So it is true,” Lu Han chuckled. “My Belle is afraid to date the big bad Beast.”
“Oh my God, just shut up!” you whined as covered your face to hide your embarrassment.
“Alright, I’ll stop teasing,” Lu Han said as he stood up, causing you to look at him in confusion.
“Where are you going?” you asked.
“Home, but don’t worry,” Lu Han grinned mischievously. “I’ll be picking you up this Friday at 7.”
Later that week, you found yourself waiting for Lu Han to pick you up for your first date. You had no idea where he was planning to take you. You were a bit nervous, wondering both if you dressed up for the right occasion or if you would wind up dead in some random ditch. I mean, you were going out with a “so-called vampire.” Either way, you knew you couldn’t back out of this date.
Since you were forced to give Lu Han another chance, you’d figured out that maybe you should try to patch up things with Gina. Oddly, despite everything that had happened, you missed her a bit. Still, you weren’t sure how you were going to get over the fact that bloody orgies were one of her guilty pleasures.
How did your life come to this point?
The doorbell rang, signaling that someone was at your apartment door. Taking in a deep breath, you prepared yourself for the night ahead. After you grabbed your purse, you made your way towards the door and opened it.
Lu Han stood there with a small grin on his face until his eyes landed on you. His eyes raked appreciatively over the dress that hugged your body, causing you to grow warm.
“Eyes up here, Lu Han,” you scolded lightly, although you were happy that you had made such an impression.
“Ah, so sorry,” Lu Han apologized with a blush on his face. “You’re just so pretty.”
“Um, thanks,” you responded as a small smile formed on your face. “So, are we ready to go?”
“Yes, but before we do that, I brought these for you.”
Pulling his hands from behind his back, Lu Han presented you with a bouquet of Peruvian lilies.
“I hope you don’t think it’s too cheesy…” Lu Han trailed off, feeling somewhat shy.
“No, I really like them!” you reassured him. “Thank you, Lu Han. Let me just put them a vase of water and then we can head out.”
A few minutes later, both you and Lu Han were in his car as he took you to an unknown destination. You wanted to ask where the two of you were going, but you figured that he wanted to surprise you. Several minutes later, the car pulled up in front of a small estate. You furrowed your eyebrows, wondering where had brought you.
“Where are we?”
“We’re at a small estate that I own,” Lu Han replied.
“Damn, how many homes do you own?” you gasped. Lu Han chuckled at your question.
“A couple.”
Stepping out of the vehicle, Lu Han came around to your side to open the car door for you. After taking the hand that he offered, you stepped out of the car and let him lead you inside of the estate.
The place was cozy, nice for a weekend getaway with friends. As you walked through the estate with Lu Han, you noticed that he never let your hand go. You looked to where your hand was being held and couldn’t help how your heart seemed to flutter. His hand was so soft and wrapped perfectly around yours.
You felt the cool night air against your skin and you shuddered slightly. When you looked up to see where he had taken you, you gasped unexpectedly.
The two of you stood in a spacious backyard. Large floral bushes enclosed the backyard, shielding you both from the world outside. There was small fire pit with a circular couch surrounding it. Colorful pillows and blankets decorated the couch as a bottle of expensive wine, a wine glass, candies, and popcorn sat on top of the fire pit. In front was a large television screen that placed on top of a stone foundation. To top it all off, white lantern lights hung above your heads, casting a dim glow throughout the yard.
“Wow. Did you really plan all of this?” you asked Lu Han as you took in the scenery.
“I did,” Lu Han chuckled as he brought you over to the couch. “Is this okay with you? I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”
“No, this is fine,” you reassured him as you gave him a bright smile. “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me. I just want you to enjoy yourself.”
The two of you settled in as Lu Han poured out some wine for you to enjoy during the movie. After deciding on a movie to watch, you both grabbed a blanket and watched as the movie began to play. It was a silly little movie, leaving you both giggling at some parts. As the both of you became more engrossed in the movie, you barely realized that the two of you had moved closer to one another.
As time went by, you grew a little thirsty. You absentmindedly reached towards the fire pit to pick up your glass of wine, not noticing how close you had placed it towards the edge. You realized too late when you heard the shattering of glass against the paved concrete.
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” you panicked slightly, feeling terrible for destroying his things. Bending over, you quickly began to pick up the shards before Lu Han could say anything.
“It’s okay, just leave it-” Lu Han began before he was interrupted by a small yelp.
Looking down at your index finger, you saw that it had a small gash that began to bleed. You were about to get up so that you could find a bathroom to rinse your finger off, but you were stopped by Lu Han grabbing your wrist. Without any warning, he placed the bleeding finger into his mouth.
You stopped breathing as soon as you felt his warm tongue sliding against your injured digit. A low groan rumbled in his chest as he closed his eyes, savoring the taste of your blood. Your eyes stayed on his mouth, briefly wondering what it would feel like on other parts of your body.
Lu Han’s eyelids fluttered open as he stared at you with hazy scarlet eyes. You heart began thumping rapidly in your chest as you burned from his heated gaze. Never had a man looked at you in that manner. Slowly, Lu Han slid your finger out of his mouth, licking his lips as you caught sight of sharp fangs.
There was a moment of silence between the two of you, the buzzing of the movie the only sound in the yard. It was as if you were both daring each other to make the next move. Although you believed Lu Han’s actions were purely out of bloodlust, he had ignited something deep between you both. A craving that you wanted satisfied since you first met.
And tonight, it would be fulfilled.
Before you could react, Lu Han swiftly pulled you towards him, crashing his delectable lips against your own. You let out a pleasantly surprised moan as you wrapped your arms around his neck. Greedy hands grabbed your waist, giving you an appreciative squeeze for how responsive you were. Wanting to feel more of you, Lu Han hoisted you effortlessly above his lap, making you straddle him on the soft couch.
Your hands ran down Lu Han’s chest, feeling the body that laid beneath his thin sweater. Gripping your hips tightly, Lu Han grinded his erection against your clothed center, causing you to gasp loudly and break the ardent kiss.
“Mmm…make that sound for me again,” Lu Han purred, repeating the erotic motion. You cried out louder, gyrating your hips in sync with his.
“Don’t tease me, Lu Han,” you whined.
Peppering your neck with feathered kisses, Lu Han moved his hands down to your thighs. Playing with the edges of your hitched dress, he chuckled when you wiggled on top of him.
“Tell me what you want, sweetheart,” Lu Han mumbled as he began to leave dark marks on your sensitive skin.
“I want you…” you blushed, not wanting to give an explanation of the sinful things you wanted him to do to you. Lu Han wasn’t having any of that.
Giving a sharp slap to your ass, you yelped causing Lu Han to smirk devilishly at you. You bit your bottom lip, annoyed that he wouldn’t get straight to the deed.
“You can do better than, Y/N,” Lu Han peered at you as he rubbed your sore cheek.
“Lu Han, you better fuck me especially after all the shit you put me-” you began before Lu Han cut you off.
“Stand.”
You looked at him questionably, worried that you had upset him. Not wanting to cause a problem, you got off Lu Han’s lap and stood between his spread legs. The next thing your heard was the sound of your panties being torn to shreds by Lu Han’s hands. You were stunned by his actions, but it didn’t stop you from getting wetter.
“Much better,” Lu Han responded before pulling you back on his lap, “but we’re not quite finished.”
He continued his small rampage on your clothing, ripping your dress’s straps and tearing your flimsy bra into pieces with such swiftness. He admired how vulnerable you looked, loving the way your breasts moved from your heavy breathing and how your nipples hardened against the cool night air. Cupping your left breast gently before giving a small squeeze, he dug his fangs into his bottom lip at the way your heart raced for him. Your blood just had to be delicious with all that adrenaline coursing through your veins.
Placing his other hand between your legs, you moaned when he dragged his digits along your soaking slit. His red eyes stayed focused on your face, enjoying as pleasure washed over your entire being. You dug your nails into his shoulders, gasping as he slid two of his fingers into your heat.
“Remember how you asked me what makes me happy?” Lu Han asked as his fingers pumped into you languidly. “As well as what I wanted?”
“Y-yes,” you stuttered. Your mind was in no shape to answer any questions.
“Add pleasuring you to the list of things that makes me happy,” Lu Han replied, rubbing your clit rapidly with his thumb, “because I want to do this to you every night.”
You felt your walls spasm uncontrollably around his fingers as you reached closer to your peak. You bucked messily against his hand, no longer moving in tandem with his pumps. Just a little bit more and he would have you screaming his name for dear life into the night air.
Pulling his fingers from your wetness, you wanted to cry in utter frustration at his merciless teasing. You narrowed your eyes at him as he dragged his tongue along his glistening fingers. He watched you wickedly, reveling from both your anger and sweet taste.
“Everything about you is delicious,” Lu Han mentioned as he cleaned up his fingers with his pink tongue. “Just like I thought the first time I saw you.”
“Lu Han…” you whined, on the verge of tears. “I really need you.”
“Don’t worry, Y/N,” Lu Han cooed as he gave you a gentle kiss. “You’ll have me now.”
Moving slightly to give Lu Han some room, he began to unbutton his pants before pulling down the zipper. He wore nothing beneath, easily pulling out his hardened length from its uncomfortable confines. Adjusting yourself on his lap, you braced yourself as you felt him line himself under your aching heat.
Carefully, he pushed himself in, groaning as your walls welcomed him in a tight embrace. He captured your lips once more as he gave you a moment to adjust to the new sensation. Craving more, you bucked your hips into his before gyrating slowing against him.
Lu Han wrapped his arms around your moving body as you rocked languidly against him. He couldn’t believe you still wanted him, considering all that you had witnessed and had now known. He loved how your head fell back from the pleasure you were experiencing. He was amazed by the way your skin heated up from his touches and by how your body took him so well. Even more pleasing, he enjoyed watching the way your body moved as you got off to riding his cock, using him to achieve your release. Moving his hands to grab your ass firmly, he wanted to take control.
Nibbling on your lips and sliding his tongue into your mouth, Lu Han began pounding into your soaking heat. You held onto his shoulders, moaning loudly against his mouth as his thrusts became merciless. You felt him smirking against your lips, clearly pleased with the noises that escaped your lips.
Speeding up, Lu Han started thrusting into you at an inhuman speed, causing you to briefly wonder if he would break you in half. You had no choice but to hold on tightly to him as he fucked you senseless. Animalistic growls poured from his mouth as he pulled away from your lips to stare at you. You couldn’t break the gaze that he held you in, the small amount of fear that gripped your heart increased the euphoria that you felt from him stroking your walls harshly.
The agonizing sensation of Lu Han’s fangs piercing your neck and the mind-numbing orgasm that ripped through your body was indescribable. You didn’t realize you had screamed your ending to the stars as tears leaked from the corners of your eyes. Your sore walls massaged his cock roughly, causing him to coat your insides with his desire as he snarled against your broken skin.
You slumped over Lu Han’s shoulders, trying to remember how to breathe again. You felt exhausted and light-headed. You weren’t even sure if any of your limbs worked anymore or if you still knew how to form words. The only thing you seemed to register was Lu Han’s tongue gently caressing the bleeding wounds on your neck.
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” Lu Han said as soon as the bleeding had slowed. “I got carried away.”
Forcing yourself to sit up, you pecked his lips softly, causing him to stroke your cheek.
“It’s alright. It was a rather interesting feeling. You know…combined with my…well you know what I mean,” you admitted sheepishly.
Lu Han gave you a fanged smile, satisfied with how his relationship had progressed with you. You made him happier than any party he had thrown.
“Thank you for giving me another chance,” Lu Han spoke, “and not just seeing me as a monster.”
“I should be thanking you, Lu Han,” you replied as you held both of his hands in your own. “You didn’t give up on me even when I rejected you that night at the castle. I was just so scared.”
“I want to make this thing work between us,” Lu Han said with a small blush on his face. “I really care about you and I want us to continue building this relationship.”
“I feel the same way, Lu Han,” you smiled as you planted a kiss on both of his hands. “Let’s start over.”
When you had looked towards the future, you only saw yourself living in London, doing what you loved the most. Going out and having fun with friends was also an expected part of your future, but it was the unforeseeable parts that had truly flipped your life upside. Meeting Lu Han and Gina was a pleasant surprise, filling your life with such fun that you had never known existed. Although it had frightened you to learn that the two of them were vampires, Lu Han convinced you to live your life more freely without judging others. Therefore, you accepted that it was good to embrace others, despite what secrets they might have.
America’s Most Eligible Diamond Scene: Sneak to the Boardwalk with Ivy
You pull Ivy aside… You: Wanna sneak out with me for a bit? We could head to the boardwalk, make a date of it. Ivy: A date…? Ivy: That sounds divine. Let’s go! You and Ivy hurry out of the living room before anyone can catch you…
You and Ivy sneak down to the boardwalk undetected. And you’re delighted by the sight of a full-blown carnival! You: All these rides and games… I wish we could’ve come here sooner! Ivy: It looks like so much fun! Thanks again for inviting me, [Name]. You: Well, it wouldn’t have been as fun without you. Ivy beams at you, but her smile quickly fades. Ivy: I just hope I can distract myself after that Challenge. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous in my life!
You: Don’t worry, Ivy… -I think you’re a great kisser. Ivy +1
You: I don’t know which number was yours in the Challenge, but the kiss we shared when you were blindfolded was great. Ivy blushes furiously, but smiles. Ivy: You’re just saying that to be nice. You: No way. I’d never lie about kissing.
-Just try to live in the moment! Ivy +1
You: I mean, look where we are. The sights! The sounds! Ivy: The yummy, yummy scents… Is that a funnel cake stand? You: See? You’re having fun already. Don’t let the Challenge ruin a great date.
Ivy smiles at you, but she’s distracted by the rows and rows of carnival games behind you. Ivy: To tell you the truth, whenever I’d go to fairs, I never got to play these kinds of games. Ivy: I was always performing in a pageant. I never had time to do what the other kids did… You: Luckily, you don’t have to worry about that stuff anymore. You: So why don’t you play something? Ivy: That would be a dream come true! But only if you play with me. You: Of course. Maybe I’ll even win you a prize… You lead Ivy over to the nearest game, ‘Smack-A-Troll’. Ivy: This is so exciting! I hope you win. You: You and me both. You grab a rubber mallet and get ready to smack the trolls as they pop up out of the game board, while Ivy does the same beside you… -Follow the directions on screen Ivy: Yay! You won! You: And now for your prize…
Which prize do you choose for Ivy? -Dragon
You present the stuffed animal to Ivy with a grin. Ivy: He looks so fierce. And adorable!
-Teddy Bear
You present the stuffed animal to Ivy with a grin. Ivy: You won me a teddy bear? This is so sweet!
-Penguin
You present the stuffed animal to Ivy with a grin. Ivy: Look at his cute little face!
You: I’m glad you like the little guy. Ivy +2 Ivy: I love it! You seriously made my day. The two of you head away from the booth, breathing in the summer air and the inviting scent of kettle corn. Ivy: The sun’s already setting. Let’s ride the Ferris wheel so we can get a good view! You and Ivy hurry to board the Ferris wheel, just as the afternoon sun fades to dusk…
As your seat rises higher and higher, you and Ivy admire the twinkling stars in the night sky. Ivy sighs dreamily. Ivy: Miami is so pretty at night. It’s such a blessing that we made it this far…
You: Ivy… -The real blessing was meeting you. Ivy +1
You: Even if I don’t win the prize money, at least I had a chance to spend this summer with you. Ivy: Oh, [Name]… Ivy sniffs, dabbing at her eyes. Ivy: It means so much to hear you say that. You’re so, so important to me! She gives you a quick hug. When she pulls away, she’s smiling.
-We’re still here because of our skills. Ivy +1
You: It’s not luck that got us this far. It’s the hard work we put into the show. You: Give yourself more credit! You deserve it. Ivy: You’re right. I really should be proud of myself, shouldn’t I? Ivy: No… I should be proud of us both! Ivy gives a determined nod, then smiles at you.
Ivy: This has been such a wonderful date, [Name]. I wish we didn’t have to head back. You: Me neither. But I know the perfect way to end the night…
You: We should… -End with a kiss! Ivy +1
Ivy blushes, but doesn’t look away from you. Ivy: [Name]… Ivy leans forward shyly, and you kiss her gently on the lips. She wraps her arms around you, pressing closer as your kiss deepens… You: Ivy… You kiss a trail along Ivy’s cheekbone, enjoying how much she melts against you. Ivy: Yes… Ivy leans into your kiss, returning it more passionately than before. And then, too soon, she pulls away. Ivy: Maybe I got a little carried away… but no one’s around to see us! You: Do you hear me complaining? Because I’m definitely not. Ivy giggles, twirling one of her curls around her finger. Ivy: Well, um… good! Because you were right.
-Wish upon a star! Ivy +1
You: That one looks lucky. You point out a particularly bright star near the moon. Ivy giggles. Ivy: You go first! What do you wish for? You: I wish the two of us will make it all the way to the Final Two. Ivy: That’s a great one. My turn! Ivy thinks about it for a moment, then fixes her gaze on the bright star in the distance. Ivy: I wish this moment could last forever! Because you were right.
Ivy: This really was the perfect way to end the night. The two of you head back to the mansion as the boardwalk lights twinkle around you like fireflies.
