Scrambled Eggs
Pairing: yan!Ranboo x reader, Yan!Tommy x reader, Yan! tubbo x reader, Yan!Purpled x reader
Request: I raise you: Hnfnnnnnnnnnn more Yandere minors but this time you're with the eggpire already (not on purpose but you get the idea)
Word count: 3k
Warning: yandere, the egg, obsession, cult (egg), kidnapping, cursing
A/n: this is all platonic. Nothing romantic. also oop this went a lot longer than i thought it would- I got really into it. Also uploaded this and didn't proof read it. I know there's at least one mistake in there- sorry in advance.
Ranboo
When this poor lad finds out you’re currently in the Egg’s clutches, he was shocked. Oh my gosh, didn’t you love him? Did you actually love him? If you really loved him, you wouldn’t have let the Egg gain control of you. That’s how “the power of love” works. Right?
He’ll go to you, begging and doing his absolute best to reason with you. In all honesty, trying to reason with you was as productive as asking Santa Clause for that new ferrari model-
But that didn’t stop him. He was too far to properly think things through. Now why don’t you come home with him? It’s not safe for you. This “Egg” doesn’t actually care for you. He cares for you though- You end up chasing him off, saying that you were happier with the Egg than anytime you were with him. Oh how the Egg has brainwashed you. It’s so bad for you, can’t you see? He’ll go through the cycle of attempting to save you a few times before it becomes too much for him.
Eventually he just goes to Phil, ranting about how you were controlled by the Egg now and he was scared for your safety. Oh god Phil what can he do to save you? Phil please help him, give him some guidance- anything! And after Phil? Well, he’d pray to any deity that’d listen. Only asking them to save you from your current plight. You weren’t safe and he loved you so much, he can’t lose you too.
Phil tires of this cycle very quickly. It’s pathetic how much Ranboo is upset by your situation. But he’s your friend and he cares for you so much; you’re a constant in his life. How can he not love you? So he’ll just give in during one of Ranboo’s pleading stages, saying that he’ll help Ranboo rescue you- which makes Ranboo very pleased. If it was this easy to end this toxic cycle, he would’ve done it ages ago.
They plan your rescue for weeks, almost a few months. Everything had to be absolutely perfect; any flaw that could allow the Egg to repossess you needed to be resolved. As time passed, Ranboo grew more anxious. He kept visiting you during the planning process, just to keep an eye on you. Make sure you were safe.
When the plan was finally put into motion, his anxiety grew more. What if there was something that they miss? Something they didn’t account for? Phil had to remind Ranboo, multiple times, that you needed him. And he was here to save you. Ranboo couldn’t afford the time to hesitate, he had to take action. Plus if something went wrong, they always had Techno to fall back on. This got Ranboo back in the mindset, ready to save you again.
Something that was unavoidable was physical conflict. A fight started between the eggpire and the rescuers. It was rather rough and unfortunate that you got involved. You were fighting against them, rather fiercely as well. Leaving you mostly unharmed was nearly impossible when you were so determined to have their heads. But they managed. And they succeeded; they defeated/subdued the eggpire, you came out with only a few scratches and they got you away from the egg. All in a day’s work.
Once they got you “home” (specifically Phil’s house since it was far from the Egg and provided the most on-site protection), they started the recovery process. They had to restrain you to the bed, tying you up so no harm could come to you or them. Another unfortunate thing, but a necessity.
You were feral, thrashing around and snarling. Demanding that they release you. You had to get back to the Egg, the Egg needed you and you needed it. Though time passes with no change and you eventually tire, finally being subdued from exhaustion. Ranboo volunteers to keep an eye on you once you’re deemed “stable” (as in “not trying to actively leave”).
Phil is Reluctant to leave you in Ranboo’s care, but he was tired. The day had been long and rather draining. But Ranboo seemed so eager to help you, stay with you. So he, although reluctant to do so, leaves you in the care of Ranboo. They agreed to work in shifts before he left.
As he leaves, he gives you two a final look. Ranboo moves his chair closer to you, learning in and starts to talk to you. Honestly, Phil could care less about what conversation you two were having. He was only there to rescue you. There weren’t any ties between you two besides Ranboo, a common connection. All that mattered was you getting cured, out of the Egg’s clutches.
Tommy
This boy? When he’s told the Egg has you in its possession, he vehemently denies it. There’s absolutely no way it could’ve gotten you. I mean do they realize who they’re talking about? They’re talking about you- one of the strongest people on the smp!
Though a small part of him doubts that. Whispers that yes, you’re strong. But not strong enough to protect you from a danger like the Egg.
There’s absolutely no possibility that you were taken by the Egg. I mean come on, as mentioned above, you’re hella strong. You fought in so many wars and never fell for any of Dream’s lies. The last one is mostly why he believes the Egg doesn’t have you. If you can defy Dream’s manipulation, then the Egg should be no different. Right?
And so many people didn’t like him, so this had to be a joke. It was laughable, unbelievable. They thought they could get him so easily? Oh how wrong they were. Here, he can easily prove them wrong. Prove that it’s a prank. Mostly needs to prove it to himself though.
So when he walks around the smp, he keeps an eye out for you. He does it everywhere and eventually wanders to areas less frequented by him. That’s the level of “delusional” he’s at; you’re just hiding somewhere, far from him. This is a mean prank you’re pulling and very effective if the wanted product was a panicked Tommy.
Finally throws in the towel when he can’t find you anywhere after a week. He asked everyone on the smp for your location and got one of two answers; they either haven’t seen you or they saw you in the Badlands, near the Egg’s domain.
Now he wasn’t scared to go into the Badlands to look for you. Oh absolutely not! He was, in fact, absolutely terrified of the Egg. His reasoning for not going there boiled down to “the Egg doesn’t like him and wants him dead” and “there’s no way the egg got them”.
Enough time passes and he finally starts to accept the idea that the Egg may actually have you. When the thought pops up to look for you in the Badlands, he doesn’t question or fight it like before. Now accepting it with open arms, he heads to the Badlands. His worst fear will be laid to rest. You won’t be there.
Oh how wrong he was. When he gets closer to the Egg’s lair, he finally catches sight of you. It’d been weeks since he last saw you, and was ecstatic when he found you. A closer, more in depth look decimated any joy he had.
You were definitely a part of the eggpire with the signature red iris that obscured your natural eye color from the light. And it was also obvious that it was working you to death. Your body looked so much weaker than it ever had, besides grave injuries. Absolutely drained of all, fucking demented, lifeless were just a few things to describe your current state. It was so hard to look at. He knew he had to save you because the Egg was slowly killing you.
He executed the best plan he could conjure up in that little pea-brain of his; he’d “kidnap” you. A very simple plan, in all actuality. When the other eggpire members were away from you, he’d lure you away with just his presence. The Egg absolutely despised him, he was well aware of that. That’s why you were most likely chasing him, but he liked to believe you were coming with him willingly. Breaking from the Egg’s control.
Okay so he hadn’t planned on where he’d take you- BUT he did know you had to be taken far, far away. Far from the smp and especially the Egg. He’ll stop when he believes you’re too far from the Egg’s influence. A place you can finally rest and break free from the Egg. After that? Well it was obvious; he’d do everything in his fucking power to ensure that the Egg could never get ahold of, control or bother you again.
Tying you to the bedpost should be sufficient for now, right? Oh don’t worry about the long chain on it. It’s long enough for you to get into the bathroom and get business done. He’s a really considerate guy, huh? It’s only there to prevent you from running back to the Egg, he swears.
And look! You’re slowly becoming yourself again. It’s happening slowly, but Tommy can see the progress that’s already being made. And that makes him overjoyed.
Tubbo
The news of your disappearance couldn’t have come at a worse time. He had been told about one of the nukes being stolen and then the news that you were kidnapped right under his nose? Absolutely worse. All he felt was absolute rage and despair. First the nuke and now you? How could this get worse!
Finding out how you were taken can, apparently. Jack recounted how he last saw you with Bad. But it wasn’t like “oh they’re just chillin like homies”. No, it was about how Bad was carrying you to… somewhere. It was unclear where they went. Rather unfortunate how Jack had to deliver the news of two horrendous incidents at the same time.
Tubbo wanted to scold Jack for not stopping Bad, but he couldn’t. It wasn’t Jack’s fault. Well it was but wasn’t all at the same time. Telling Jack how he fucked up severely wouldn’t help the situation, and neither would yelling or any other destructive form of anger. Keeping his cool was his best option to solve the current crises.
He gets to work on solving both issues asap. Jack volunteers to find the missing nuke which left Tubbo to find you. Jack taking up the nuke issue was a blessing; he’d rather have Jack find the nuke than risk your safety.
Now since he’s left to look for you, he needs a plan to locate you. His best option? Getting help from the other residents, of course! They were more than happy to assist Tubbo. All of them get told the same story; the recount that Jack told Tubbo of the last appearance you made.
It isn’t long into the search before results were made. Puffy came back with your location. Your situation was less than favorable. Adding you being in the Badlands and so close to where the Egg laid, it was all clear. It appeared that you were under the Egg’s thumb. After all, if a friend calls out to you, a normal person wouldn’t just ignore them. And Puffy said she wasn’t too far away from you when she yelled for you. So something was obviously wrong.
Tubbo decides to give the Badlands a little visit. To give his own input on the situation, if you’d call it that. In all honesty, it was just to see you and see if the tales were true. Sadly, they were.
The next best thing would be to plan an escape for you. So the first attempt is him just trying to get you to leave on your own accord. And that plan was unsuccessful, which was less than surprising. Then he tries to physically drag you back. A hilarious sight, but another plan that was doomed to fail from the beginning. As a last resort, for that visit, he pulls out the puppy dog eyes and alligator tears. You were unfazed by his tactics. There go his immediate plans of freeing you.
Eventually you tire of his behavior and chase him away. You spare him some last words before you part ways though. “I don’t need to leave the Egg. I’m perfectly fine, so just leave me alone”.
That really made him upset, but he wasn’t going to give up on you just like that. No, you were his best friend. Best friends don’t give up on each other so easily. They stick with each other and get the other out of a nasty situation. And this was one nasty situation you got pulled into.
When he gets back, he relays all of the discoveries to the others. It was undeniable, unanimous; you had to be rescued. As they all talked it over, a smile grew on Tubbo’s face. Tubbo’s change in mood was dismissed easily; he was just excited to get his friend back. They weren’t half wrong with that.
Tubbo was more happy that it’d be easier to contain you. He could easily get you where he wanted you and keep you there under the pretense of “keeping you there for your safety”. And all he’d have to do is volunteer to care for you…
Purpled
Surprisingly, he meets you through the Egg. Well, properly meet you. Originally, he joined for the money. Some of the eggpire members were rather wealthy and paid handsomely for his services.
So to elaborate on how he “knew” you. He first found you when you first appeared on the smp. Being toured around by Dream. So logically he goes up to greet the new member. You want to make good impressions on people as soon as you can.
You two only exchange names before Dream starts to shoo Purpled off. Dream gives the excuse that you were his friend. Not Purpled’s. His. He didn’t know you well and this was his server, so he’d obviously give the best tour of it. Plus you two were also catching up on things you two had done.
Dream’s behavior peeved you. He was being rather rude to this stranger and rather irresponsible. If he was trying to seem good, he was doing a poor job of conveying that.
You argued with Dream to allow this other person to come along with y’all. The argument doesn’t last long before Dream finally shoots it down and pulls you away for the rest of the tour.
Purpled was awed, felt so loved. You argued back at Dream of all people, and just for him. To defend him and let you come along with him. God you must be an angel in disguise, a true treasure. People as gracious as you are hard to come by nowadays.
After that, he does his best to become your friend. He does all the research on you that he can and watches your behaviors. Noting what you like and what you do throughout the day. Just the normal stuff, ya’know.
Without you knowing it, you had become such a precious thing to him. You’d become his best friend. Yes you two didn’t talk often at all, but you two were still friends. After all, he knew everything about you. Your favorite color, your favorite place to hang out, which genre of books you like, what muffin you get at Niki’s bakery, how you like your tea and coffee. Just the normal stuff a best friend would need to know.
Also collected things of yours. Things you came in contact with. If you left them, that meant you didn’t want them. And if you didn’t want them anymore, then they were free for the taking. This was all obvious stuff.
Another surprising thing; he became too busy with the egg to even notice your disappearance. With how much he was around you, he would’ve noticed you go missing within seconds. Yet he wasn’t around to keep you safe, now was he? No he wasn’t. He was away collecting some of the dumbest things for the egg.
He was rather annoyed when he was told of the soon-to-be new member of the eggpire. Great, another egg freak he’d have to deal with. Right now, he could really use a pick-me-up. Visiting you wouldn’t hurt- apparently it can because he was almost immediately put to work after being told the news.
After prepping for the initiation process, he was more than peeved. It’d been weeks since he last saw you. It was some of the worst weeks of his life. All he needed right now was you- oh boy.
Well he wishes were granted because there you were, being inducted into the egg cult. Man he should’ve been a bit more careful on what he wished for, but whatever. You were here now. Once it’s all over, he goes to properly greet you as an eggpire member and tours you around. So since you like the egg and he likes the egg, you wanna keep talking?
Will do everything in his power to keep you under the Egg’s control. If anybody comes in hopes of rescuing you, they’d have to deal with Purpled first. They’d usually never get past him, defeated by his hand and sent away.
It was in “your” best interest to stay with the egg. Really it was his, but you believed it too.
Those egg-cult freaks kept preaching about how the Egg would give people anything they asked or craved. Now that you were here, Purpled supposed it was true. After all, you were what he wanted after all. He is best friend by his side forever. What else could he ask for?

Analysis on C! Tubbo's Emotional State
Disclaimer: I am in no means a professional and I am heavily basing this off of my own experiences and general observations. (Please let me know if my wording is bad)
This is all about the roleplay characters if it wasn't clear
Warning: self harm, self sacrifice, self destructive behavior and talk of mental health and canon typical violence
Tubbo has always been a self sacrificial character. He always helps his friends at the expense of his own safety (ie disc war and L'manburg). He is a bit of an overachiever and that has gotten worse when combined with tendencies of paranoia. (all og members of L'manburg have paranoia issues, stemming from the final control room)
After the Independance War, Tubbo was involved with the elections. He made a secret bunker, saying "hope for the best plan for the worse" in case the electrons went wrong. He was proven right and then had to endure a harsh dictatorship.
Spy Tubbo was constantly under stress. He not only was secretly slipping information to Pogtopia but had his role of Security of State as well. At the Elections, Schlatt verbally abused Tubbo and scared him into following his orders. Most of the things Schlatt had told Tubbo to have shaped him into the Tubbo that internalizes and represses all his emotions. (ie don't complain, don't cry, don't talk back, agree with everything I say). Tubbo, who already naturally liked to help his friends, was forced to become a yes man in order to stay safe.
The Festival was a disaster and a huge blow to Tubbo's self esteem. The famous line here is "Wilbur said he wasn't going to hurt me" and Tubbo wholeheartedly believed that he could trust Wilbur, his former president and older brother figure. However, all he got was the fact that he was now expendable to Wilbur. His death was brushed aside and it seemed like the only person who cared was Tommy. Even Tubbo quickly became desensitized to the fact that his own pain did not matter in the chaos of the situation.
His life becomes even more chaotic when he is thrust into the role of President and his self sacrificing nature kicked in when no one else would take the presidency. And then in the first 10 minutes into his presidency, he is shot and his nation is blown up.
Tubbo takes this all in stride, repressing everything in order to rebuilt but his cabinet does not listen to him and constantly talks over him. When his vice president and best friend gets into trouble, Tubbo learns that he must be louder in order to be heard.
Tubbo felt betrayed by Tommy's actions during the exile negotiations. He felt as if Tommy didn't respect his power and the pressure of living up to President Wilbur, the threat of becoming like President Schlatt and the expectations of the entire nation all depended on him.
Tubbo once again choose sacrifice but this time, he was not only sacrificing himself but harmed Tommy in his decision as well. Immediately Tubbo regretted his decision and regressed into his yes man habits to cope with the situation.
From here on out, this may be a bit of a stretch but I love putting lore goggles on to every scene for analysis purposes and with a character like Tubbo who is rarely played, we can get some character depth from seemingly "silly" bits.
Tubbo after exiling Tommy shifted from being self sacrificial to self destructive. Both presidents before him had died and the odds were not looking good for Tubbo, already he had made an awful decision that he immediately regretted. Yet he couldn't reverse it and didn't feel worthy enough to see Tommy.
Tubbo never built himself a home in L'manburg. No stuff, no place to sleep, no roots. He told Ranboo that the presidency was all his when the elections came around. He didn't want to be president anymore. He's worryingly self depreciating.
I don't quite remember the timing of this stream but Tubbo and Ranboo once went nether exploring. Ranboo panicked as Tubbo was extremely reckless during this adventure, jumping into lava without fire res, speed bridging with few blocks and jumping off of tall places without checking his health. In addition, Tubbo went through a series of projects as a President, always doing something new and often involving things that could hurt him (ie Ravenger teleportation, tnt jumping). We can see Tubbo become subtly self destructive during this time.
(sidenote: tubbo has a habit to jump off of high things and expecting the person at the bottom to water bucket. Tommy usually is the person to "catch him" and I find it interesting that they both had self destructive tendencies while the other was gone. I'll come back to this point soon)
We never get Tubbo's opinion on the Butcher Army. He heavily opposed the idea at the beginning of the presidency but agreed to take part in it despite Techno killing him being a traumatizing event.
And then Logsteadshire. The guilt of exiling his best friend and being the cause to his death is too much for his mind to handle and he passes out. We never learn how Tubbo got back to L'manburg and the next time we see him, he is back to throwing himself into project after project.
The next time we really see Tubbo is when Tommy and Technoblade take Connor hostage. Ranboo says that Tubbo is just staring at a grass block and when Tommy appears, Tubbo is severely shaken. He is glad that his best friend is alive and upset that he's teamed with his murder but has to all shove it aside to fulfill his role as president. Tubbo takes Tommy yelling at him and Techno's accusations with no protest and once again, represses everything to move on.
Already the Green Festival reminded Tubbo of familiar events but at this time he was in control or so he thought. He had already failed an execution so he was determined to make this word so L'manburg could be safer. He had failed Tommy so he might as well try to make the server a better place by killing Dream. Yet Tubbo had doubts about it.
Dream was manipulating Tubbo during his entire presidency. Tubbo truly believed that Dream was his friend and thought that Dream supported him as a president. His self esteem was so low that he searched for validation anywhere (ie "rate my kidnapping", "phil tell me I'm doing good pls") and Dream willingly gave him companionship.
But then Dream started screaming at him and calling him and awful president, Tubbo agreed with Dream. Tubbo saw himself as weak and stupid and no one came to his defense so it had to be true.
His fight with Tommy was very impactful and led Tubbo to believe that the discs mattered more than him but we'll get back to that soon. Most of the things said during this fight were forgiven by both parties so I hope it doesn't affect him much.
Sidenote: when Quackity suggests to execute Ranboo, Tubbo chooses forgiveness for Ranboo having been in that position before and snaps at Quackity. Here we get a glimpse of Tubbo's inner emotions and we can see clearly that the events of the festival have hurt him.
Doomsday is further proof to Tubbo that he is the worst President that L'manburg had. He stares at the destruction in mute disbelief and even throws himself into tnt and in front of a firework for Tommy. By the end of the experience, Tubbo is so drained that he has given up on government, the fight beaten out of him and he lets L'manburg go, thinking it was his fault it fell.
Tubbo has suffered the most from government yet strives to make a community. Snowchester was supposed to be his healing. However, Tubbo's paranoia from all the violence and the lessons that he has learned from the others, caused him to built a way to defend himself. He doesn't even make a bed for himself in his new house.
Then his life gets shaken up by the Disc War Finale. He refuses to talk about his feelings on the odds, accepts defeat instantly as they were "doomed from the beginning" and doesn't seem to mind the fact that he might die.
In fact, he says "It was about time anyway"
Tubbo thinks he is living on borrowed time. All of the presidents before him are dead and he is in a seemingly impossible situation. Death seems to be the only option and he has accepted it before hand so he is fine with it. Even Tommy seems shaken by this as Tubbo was so positive about the situation before. But Tubbo had been hiding that all for Tommy's sake as he is very self sacrificial.
When everything seems to return to "normal" Tubbo tests his nukes and later tells Ranboo that be had expected everything to go horribly wrong. He is trying to heal and does a decent job at it, starting a family and building Snowchester.
But then he gets the memo that Tommy has been trapped in prison with Dream. He checks out the prison, being a inconvenience to the guards and is hardly fazed when Sam threatens to kill him. He leaves feeling disappointed that he cannot help but that is what it is and Tubbo thinks that Tommy is the strongest person he knows.
So that's why Tommy can't be dead. Tubbo denies Sam's words and when they finally register, begins an investigation to find out who's to blame. He becomes self destructive again, wearing Dream's armor and building a familiar panic room to research the crime.
He is once again extremely reckless when investigating. With Ranboo's help, they go and investigate the egg and Tubbo shows his lack of care for his own safety. He tries to break open the egg, challenges Bad and Ant to a pvp and suggests to continue investigating. But at this point, Ranboo has noticed this recklessness and gently reminds Tubbo of Michael.
From this point, Tubbo seems to be healing again. And then to make things better, Tommy is back and they are going to kill Dream but that's okay because it hasn't really settled yet. Tubbo is once again shaken by Tommy's return and follows him in silence to make sure he is really there. He is so worried about Tommy, he reaches out to MIA Ghostbur to help him.
Tubbo is still self destructive but less so after this. He still jumps off high places but does so more out of trust. He finally gets a bed in Snowchester and things seem to be looking up.
But then Tommy's words about Dream settle in. Dying is no longer permanent and Tubbo has things he wants to protect. To do this he recommissions the nukes but is panicked when one is stolen.
We have no idea where it is going to go from here, but I can already see some problems with Tubbo's increasing paranoia.
In addition, the details about the nukes and their suicide button and Tubbo's willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good does not bode well.
Overall, Tubbo is a complex character and I greatly enjoy how he is played.
Thank you for reading and let me know if you have any comments!

EDIT: Added a read more, the post had been originally written on mobile
For context, unless stated otherwise for the most part, this is the roleplay dynamic.
Ayyy, been seeing some Dream SMP takes on Tommyinnit’s character development that are pretty uh, piss poor. I want to point some obvious things out to people. Especially following the Technoblade/Tommyinnit team disbanding.
Techno isn’t right. Techno was certainly not in the right there, and Tommy didn’t do anything that regressed his character either, his entire character came to a development.
Let’s Start by pointing out that Wilbur has posted their Dungeons and Dragons Alignments, where Techno is Lawful Neutral and Tommy is Chaotic good. (For sake of the post, Tubbo is Lawful Good.)
So I’m going to break down exactly what was going on there and how it developed the characters.
If we go by Technoblade first, I’m seeing a lot of people say he’s better than Dream- he is- and therefore Tommy shouldn’t have left. Which is true, Techno is better than Dream, but he’s just like Wilbur. Watching from Technoblade’s POV, you notice that he starts carrying a book of the To-Do List he intends to do with Tommy. Outlining that he wants to destroy L’Manburg and tried, at almost every chance he got, to convince Tommy to do so.
Tommy said no, he didn’t want to destroy L’manburg, because he cared for it. He outright said no, he JUST wanted his discs back.
Techno concedes, saying Tommy doesn’t have to participate, only after failing to convince him many times.
Techno the entire time, tried to convince Tommy that Tubbo wasn’t his friend, that Tubbo obviously doesn’t care for him. (Not true, as Tubbo literally mourned him and thought he was dead and it destroyed him.) Which is EXACTLY what Wilbur did.
This is an isolation tactic. Techno used ANY means necessary to try and recruit Tommy. Because his character doesn’t care about interpersonal relationships so long as he gets his goal- possibly excluding Phil. His entire character sticks to one set of Morals and set of laws he’s self imposed. (Canonically refusing to truly give up violence).
1. Governments are bad.
2. Governments must be destroyed.
3. The means justify the ends so long as it destroys the government.
Technoblade’s character gets a lot of sympathy, which is cool, but I want to point out while he personally was felt betrayed, he never was.
Techno from the start, was anti-government. Willing to destroy it all so long as another country was never rebuilt. That was his only condition.
Except he KNEW everyone else wanted L’manburg back, that’s what the fight was about. It was very transparent that everyone else was working for L’manburg back.
The three people who wanted it destroyed? Wilbur, Dream and Techno.
Techno wasn’t betrayed, he chose to ignore the goals of his allies until it came time that everyone took back L’manburg. He ignored knowledge that was given to him plenty of times, by Tommy himself even. They wanted L’manburg back. Techno talks of betrayal, but when Tommy points out that Techno betrayed them, he falters and excuses himself.
Which brings Tubbo into the mix. Tubbo was an ally, and he was working with them, WILLINGLY, to give information because he wanted to take down Schlatt and return L’manburg to how it was. He was trapped, scared and wanted help. In the festival, when Technoblade shoots him, THAT is a clear act of betrayal. Techno kills Tubbo, at Schlatt’s orders, betraying Tubbo and Tommy’s trust in him as he worked, clearly, for the other side, against their collective goals.
Techno claims the ends justify the means, and that he was under mild amounts of peer pressure. This is an example of his character. He doesn’t feel bad for hurting his ally, because they got something out of it. If it suits him, he WILL hurt his allies to get ahead in his goals, and he will say anything to justify it.
Tommy’s character cannot agree with this. He values friendship the most, and would give up his goals for his friends, as a true Chaotic Good, he values his friends and the people around him, over any law or morals, and would break his laws and morals for it.
He couldn’t understand Techno shooting Tubbo, because he wouldn’t. There wouldn’t be a force on the SMP that could make him shoot Tubbo in Techno’s place. They have too widely different views, where Tommy values friendship and people, Techno values ideals and goals.
So, we’re not even done and this is pretty long, let’s cover Tommy and the discs. The entire plot device for season one and two.
Tommy’s attention to the discs are goal oriented, to get back his discs no matter the costs, yeah? Except I feel like some of you have no idea where this goal came from. Tommy gave up the discs before, despite fighting for them desperately, so his friends could have L’manburg. He fought desperately, to have those discs back initially, as a war against Dream.
“Before this, before everyone, before L’manburg, it’s always been me and you, against Dream.” Tommy to Tubbo, before the Pogtopia vs Manburg war. (Might not be a true quote.)
This isn’t just a cute little moment, Tommy CARES for Tubbo deeply, they’re some of the closest friends on the SMP. He fought Techno because Techno killed Tubbo. It was personal for him, that is his best friend and he would do anything for him.
Tommy does, do anything for Tubbo, promising that no matter what, it will be the both of them. That they will always be together. This isn’t showing his hero complex, this isn’t a show of some inherent flaw. This is Tommy’s closest and most valuable interpersonal relationship. Chaotic Good Tommy values his friendships deeply.
So when Techno continuously tries to pressure Tommy into believing Tubbo and him aren’t friends, that Tubbo doesn’t care, and so they should hurt Tubbo to get the discs back, Tommy refuses. He refuses over and over again, claiming he trusts Tubbo will give back the disc.
Technoblade uses the framework Dream made, by the way, to accomplish this. He takes Tommy’s fragile mental state and uses that to his advantage. He does what Wilbur does, and almost succeeds. Tommy falters, believing momentarily that Tubbo doesn’t care. Something Dream was trying to convince him of in his isolation. Which isn’t true. Tubbo, upon learning Tommy is dead, is in disbelief and despair.
Let’s talk about the hostage situation for a moment. Tommy tells Tubbo off for not coming to his beach party, and that he was never visited, never received letters, and he was told the same thing from Tubbo as Wilbur said; “I wasn’t invited. I did send you things.”
The broken relationship we see? It’s falsely constructed by Dream. That bond exists still, fractured because someone came in with the intentions to break and destroy Tommy’s interpersonal relationships and manipulate him.
Tommy’s exile arc, was an abuse arc. Tommy was regularly abused by Dream. Techno profited off it, and used Tommy’s fragile mental state to try and achieve his goals, not even trusting Tommy until, in his fragile state, they both threaten Fundy. Techno sees this as commitment to the cause.
Tommy wanted his discs, Techno wanted L’Manburg destroyed.
So when the community house was destroyed, and we get that scene with Techno going with Tommy, they both have a moment. But I’ll address that in a second.
First, Tommy rushes in to defend himself, saying he didn’t destroy the community house. That he was innocent.
Tubbo doesn’t believe him. Why? Because Tommy does this. Tommy destroys things, he burned George’s house (taking the fall for Ranboo), he did plenty of things.
Tommy and Tubbo fight, and Tommy says, “the discs were worth more than you ever were”. This line, I’ve seen it interpreted many ways, one being he used to value the discs over Tubbo, and another being his values as a character.
It’s neither, by the way. It’s a heat of the moment comment, it shocks Tommy into silence, he instantly regrets it. He hates that he said it. Tommy’s goals, in that moment, change, based on his alignment. His goal doesn’t matter, if it’s hurting the people he cares for. It’s hurting Tubbo, it’s time to get rid of the goal.
In that instant, the discs do not matter. They mean nothing. Tommy doesn’t care for them. This is the moment that he GROWS as a character. Instead of obsessively wanting the discs and harming his friends for it, he is willing to let them go so he can foster his friendship. His arc, comes to an end. He doesn’t choose to be a hero again, that’s not what that is. No, he chooses his friend, the one he’s put so much faith and trust into, over something he has realized doesn’t mean more.
He tells Tubbo to give the disc to Dream, because he doesn’t care about them anymore, the sentimentality he has with them and Tubbo mean nothing if he loses Tubbo. Chaotic Good, he chooses the people over his goals and morals (which change on a whim).
Techno, who was using the discs to get Tommy to cooperate, who only recently thought Tom y and him were equals, is enraged because he can’t understand it. He can’t understand Tommy giving up his goal, because he couldn’t. His goals and ideals, they never went away in retirement, he was always wanting to destroy the government, he was planning it behind Phil’s back even. Everything he did was in preparation for a war. I think, even without the execution, Techno would have gone back to his ideals to destroy the government.
Which is why Techno, is angry. He feels betrayed, because once again, the outcome that was obvious happened, and someone stuck to their own words. Tommy would never harm Tubbo, and he wasn’t going to help Techno against L’Manburg.
But Tommy doesn’t do it maliciously against Techno, willing to even try and stay friends, showing he still cared for him. Tommy values his friends, including Techno in that moment.
What Techno sees is Tommy’s betrayal, Tommy broke their alliance because his goal is gone. “Help me get back the discs.” Tommy said when they made that deal. That no longer applies, Tommy was never intending on helping with the destruction of L’Manburg or the death of his friend.
Techno, once again, convinced himself that he would be assisted in his goal despite the vocal outcry against it.
So what does Techno do? He gets revenge. He teams up with Dream immediately.
That’s Techno’s character. Interpersonal bonds mean nothing if they get in the way of his goal, but he doesn’t go out of his way to purposefully destroy them. The MOMENT Tommy isn’t with him, Techno doesn’t have an issue with Dream or what he’s done.
Techno willingly teams up with Tommy’s abuser, because he gets his goal.
Tommy, who still cares for Techno is in shock at this. He sees Techno as a friend, like Tubbo. This hurts him.
Techno, later, even goes on to say he doesn’t care for friends so long as the people he’s with share his ideals, ending into the extreme of his alignment.
Techno has never been a good guy. He’s an antagonist of the SMP. Particularly, he’s not a villain, but antagonist. He’s an obstacle. Not via his person, but his goals.
And he wins, and he tells Tommy, “you never saw me as a person, only a weapon, you betrayed me twice now”.
Tommy, who has seen them as friends, after Techno broke their friendship off the first time with the withers, counters, “and what of Schlatt and what you did to Tubbo”.
Which Techno dismisses as, “in the past” and “it doesn’t matter”. To Techno, it’s not relevant how he treats others, his betrayal to other people doesn’t matter, just the perceived betrayal towards himself.
In the end, Techno is blinded by his beliefs. They controlled him to the extremes. To the point where he would burn any bridge made to keep them.
But Tommy? Tubbo? They gave up L’Manburg, to make their own little place. No vocal apologies were given, yes, and they should address that, but they gave up the country to be together as friends.
And for anyone wondering, Tommy and Tubbo are friends again, through action. Tommy, contrasting his words, gave the discs up to repair his friendship.
Techno, true to his word, destroyed the country and killed anyone who stood in his way. Even going out of his way sometimes to target Tubbo and Tommy.
In short, Techno was a second Wilbur to Tommy, and it shows that some people ignored the subtle manipulation attempts to achieve his goal. Is he as bad as Dream? No, not even close actually. But he’s as bad as Wilbur.
I also want to point something out on ages. Techno is canonically an adult. Tommy is a child, a kid. He’s a kid. The dynamic between them was skewed.
Techno saw a kid, in distress, and in a poor mental state, and tried to manipulate him.
When the kid figured out he didn’t want his goal anymore, he backed out. Techno punished him, by repeating what would be a huge source of trauma for him.
Techno tried to destroy L’Manburg, and succeeded. And he told Tommy that, “you could have just sat out”.
Tommy couldn’t. Because Tubbo is, and always will be, his closest friend. He values his bonds, but he promised Tubbo it was the two of them.
As Philza is the exception to Techno’s alignment, the promise to Tubbo is the exception to Tommy.
There was no betrayal, but a shift in goals and ideals from Tommy, which lead to Tommy and Technoblade no longer needing to be allies.
The narrative isn’t supposed to be black and white, that’s most of the characters. Techno being a big perpetrator of this. The narrative is a morally Grey area, where you can side with whoever you want.
That’s it, that’s the meta.

Planning
This is a sort of add on to this post from a few days ago. You don’t need to read it to understand, but if you want to it’s there.
Techno was in prison. Techno was in prison. With Dream. Ranboo had felt scattered ever since he found out. He probably didn’t need to worry. Techno was strong. If anyone could handle being so close to Dream, it would be him. Still, Ranboo thought as he broke another piece of stone, it didn’t stop the constant stream of what if’s in his mind.
He had taken to mining even more since Phil told him a few days ago. The repetitive pattern of it was about all he could make himself focus on. Piles of resources were rapidly filling up his chests. He was giving all the stone to Tubbo for his outpost by Las Nevadas.
Las Nevadas. Quackity. They were the ones who did this to Techno. Ranboo had seen him on the hill at Techno’s birthday party. He’d hoped for the best, but it was pointless. Quackity had changed. He couldn’t be trusted anymore.
Unable to carry any more, Ranboo trudged back up the stairs to his house. He dumped everything in the nearest empty chest and went outside to check on Steve. He’d been doing that a lot lately.
Outside his door, Ranboo stopped short. Phil was outside, talking to a kid in a purple hoodie with violet eyes.
“Oh! Ranboo!” Phil waved him over. He wasn’t smiling, but his frown had lessened slightly. “This is Purpled.”
Wait, Purpled? Ranboo didn’t know much about the kid, other than that he was a skilled mercenary and that Tubbo had mentioned seeing him around Las Nevadas with Quackity’s slimy assistant.
Ranboo narrowed his eyes.”Uh-huh.”
“He promised to help us break Techno out of prison.”
“Did he now?” Ranboo looked closer at Purpled. If  he didn’t know he was a mercenary, the kid would have looked unremarkable. With that knowledge, though, he saw the way Purpled stood, feet positioned like he was ready to fight at any moment. He had a bored look in his eyes, flicking around as they took in the terrain and Ranboo.
Phil looked at him in confusion. “Is something wrong?”
“He works with Las Nevadas, Phil.” The way Phil’s eyes widened told Ranboo he didn’t know. “So I guess he was keeping that little fact secret.”
Purpled glared at him. “I was working with them. Not fully willingly, I might add, but I’m not anymore.”
“Yeah? What happened?” Ranboo asked.
“Quackity crossed the line.”
“And the line was Techno?”
“Yeah.” Purpled crossed his arms. “Really, it should have been when he blew up my home, but he got in my head.”
Ranboo blinked. “He blew up your UFO?”
“Yeah,” Purpled said. His mouth turned downwards. “The son of a bitch called me to get the payment for the Eggpire job, then he blew it up right in front of me. Then, he started spewing shit about how it was my legacy and people would never remember me now that it was gone.”
Ranboo remembered another house, in L’Manburg. It had still had some of his pets in it when Dream and Techno reduced it to a smoking crater. Everyone would remember that place. Ranboo’s insides twisted. “Sometimes remembering isn’t a good thing.”
“That was everything I had,” Purpled said angrily. “He took away my ability to be remembered. I don’t want to disappear, even if that looks good to you.”
“Disappearing doesn’t look good to me,” Ranboo said indignantly. “I was just saying that some things are better left behind.”
“Like me?” Purpled said.
“No!”
“Well, that’s what it sounded like.” A sword appeared in Purpled’s hand. Ranboo struggled to catch up. How had it gone this way? But he called his axe forth.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Phil stepped between them, hands held up. “Stop it! Techno’s in the prison, we all want him out. Ranboo, Purpled’s vendetta will keep him on our side. Purpled, Ranboo’s dealt with people obsessed with legacy before. Get along, at least until we get Techno out.”
Ranboo wasn’t even entirely sure how they’d come to be fighting. He watched Purpled warily until the other boy lowered his sword. “Fine.”
Ranboo let his axe disappear. “Alright.”
“Good.” Phil dropped his hands. “Now. I’ll send for Niki. When she gets here, we make a plan. Ranboo, can you go get some armor set up for us?”
Ranboo nodded and turned back to his house. The snow came halfway up his shins as he walked. After a few moments, footsteps behind him became noticeable.
He twisted around to see Purpled following him. “What?”
“I just wanted to tell you that you don’t need to make me any armor,” Purpled said. “I’ve got my own.”
“Yeah? Let me see it.”
“Why?”
“Because I can probably make it better.”
Purpled grumbled, but he summoned his chestplate and passed it to Ranboo. They were walking side by side now as Ranboo inspected it. It was netherite, but there were small dents all over it from places where arrows had glanced off. The enchantments were dulling. “I can definitely do better. Your Projectile Protection is crap, by the way.”
Purpled huffed. “It’s fine.”
Ranboo held it next to his gauntlet, where it contrasted heavily with the enchantments shining vibrantly on his. “You were saying?”
“How did you get it that high powered?” Purpled asked, grudgingly impressed.
“Effort.” Inside his house, Ranboo tossed the chestplate on the anvil and rooted through his chests for the enchanted books he needed.
Purpled leaned on the wall, watching as he worked. “Could you show me how?”
What, so you can show your Las Nevadas friends? Ranboo almost asked, but thought better of it. “Sure,” he said. “After we get Techno out.” A crow flew past the window, likely carrying Phil’s message for Niki.
“Why is Phil calling Niki?” Purpled asked, eyes tracking the crow in the sky. “I’d think she hated Techno after L’Manberg.”
“Well, she doesn’t.” Ranboo finished maxing out the enchantments on Purpled’s armor. “And stop sticking your nose into people’s relationships.”
“Yeesh, sorry.” Purpled took his chestplate back. “Thanks.”
“No problem.” Ranboo didn’t look up from searching his chest for netherite ingots. “Now give me the rest of it, then go train with Phil or something.”
Purpled scowled, but put the rest of his armor within reach of Ranboo and left, letting the door swing shut behind him.
Ranboo bent back over the anvil with a sigh. As much as he hoped Purpled had good intentions, Quackity had moved him once before. There was no telling if he’d be able to do it again.

Face Reality (Part 7)
Title: An Arena to Watch Your Sins Fight (will they ever be free?)
Summary:  Purpled wakes up, and they have a discussion on where he'd been. (he hates his past) Ranboo looks around and realizes that this family is the best thing to happen to its members. (he needs it, too) Puffy snitches on how much Sam actually cares. (she does, as well) (and sam? sam finally snaps. but they don't have to know about that)
Part 1 Part 8 Masterlist
_______
Purpled woke up a day later. It was unexpected, mainly because he just… woke up out of nowhere. It had been a pretty slow day until that point, then he stumbled out of the room that he’d been put in, eyes glossy and breath panicked.
Sam stood up immediately. “Whoa, hey, buddy. Are you okay? What are you doing up?”
Purpled had just looked up at him, no recognition in his eyes. “What..? Where am I?”
“You’re at my base, in the Dream SMP. Do you remember who I am?” Sam asked, putting an arm around him and guiding him to the couch. He removed his arm quickly though, at the flinch from Purpled.
“Yeah… you’re Sam, but… how did I get away?”
“Get away from what?” Ranboo asked, just entering the room. “Fundy and I were hanging out in the woods and you just collapsed in front of us.”
Purpled appeared to get agitated. “I… Why’d they let me go?”
“Who?” Sam said softly. There was no response. “Hey, just start at the beginning if you want to, okay? Where were you… let’s start with what you remember, okay? What’s the first thing you remember?”
He gulped. “I remember Tommy and Tubbo leaving to… to go fight Dream. They were going to say goodbye to everyone, but I didn’t show up.”
Sam’s eyebrows furrowed. “Purp, that was years ago.”
The younger man nodded. “Yeah. I, uh, I left after that because I didn’t want to be there… I didn’t want to be there when Dream brought their bodies back.” Ranboo had left, and brought back the rest of the people who lived there. Purpled looked shocked to see Tommy and Tubbo. “How did you survive?”
Tommy shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. I can tell you later. What’s going on?”
“He’s telling us where he’s been.” Sam said, and motioned for Purpled to continue. “Go ahead.”
“I… I went to the Bedwars server to try and clear my mind a bit, get some practice. Take a break from this SMP, and such, but after one of the games…” He started shaking a bit, and Sam wanted to hug him, but held back. If the other physical contact was any indication, Purpled wouldn't appreciate it.
“You don’t have to continue if you don’t want to.”
He still did. The memories were coming back, faster now. He almost wished they didn’t, because they weren’t pleasant. “After one of the games, a group of men approached me.”
____________
Purpled sighed, wiping the sweat from his brow. It had been a tough game, and he was tired. He just wanted to go home, wherever that was. Did he even have one? He wandered over to collect his prize, though he’d probably end up giving it to someone else since he didn’t really need it. It’d just get stolen from one of his chests in the SMP, anyway.
After, he stumbled towards the lobby with the intent of joining another game. He probably should’ve stopped a while ago. Maybe that’s why he couldn’t stop what happened next.
Three men went up to him while he caught his breath on a bench. One of them had a long beard, and he was the one who spoke. “You look pretty tired, ay? I saw you fighting though, you look like a pro for someone so young.”
Purpled straightened his posture in an effort to look somewhat lively. “I’m not that tired. Thanks, though, I appreciate it.”
One of the others, the one with a sick moustache, held out a water bottle. “Here, you want a drink?”
His mind was already foggy enough that he didn’t remember all of the warnings that he’d been told since he was young of the group that kidnapped Bedwars players to make them compete in illegal fighter rings. Purpled took the water, drinking it. Almost immediately, his legs started to give out. What kind of a potion was the water laced with?
“Whoa there, let me help you.”
Purpled didn’t know which one said that. He feebly tried hitting at them, but he could barely move. He wanted to sleep, but he couldn’t. His nerves were going haywire, someone was taking his arm, he had to move-”
He blacked out.
He woke up in a cell, and as his mind slowly came back to him, the panic set in. He knew the answers to all his questions, but he didn’t like it. It seemed like ages, but at some point, someone finally came to see him.
“Purpled, ay?” It was the one with the beard. He chuckled at Purpled’s silence. “Not much of a talker, huh? Well, I hope you’re more of a fighter in the arena than you were when we grabbed you, otherwise I might have to get a new source for information.”
“What?”
The beard-man smiled. “Ah, he speaks! Well, I’ve got a source that told me you were a formidable competitor, and wouldn’t be all that missed, so having a fighter from the famous Dream SMP will bring in the big bucks. I’m taking chances with you, none of the others wanted to nab a kid. Somethin’ about morals.”
Purpled scowled. “What happens if I refuse to fight, or if someone comes to find me?”
“I don’t think that you’ll find either of those an issue. We’re well secluded, and if you don’t fight, well,” The beard-man held a sword to Purpled’s throat. “Suddenly it won’t be much of my issue, anyway, will it?”
Purpled swallowed thickly and fell silent. He hoped someone would look for him, maybe.
They didn’t.
Each competition was it’s own little hell. He tried to fight the first time he was brought out of the cell, but they learned that it was just easier to drug him. He’d wake up in a base, in an arena surrounded by an audience, and when the shrill alarm went off, the fighting began. The first few times, Purpled would refuse to fight, but he learned that the pain that came afterward wasn’t worth it. He grew used to looking away from his opponents. He hated seeing the light dim, knowing what they would go through for failing to win.
Better them than him, though. In this world, it was kill or be tortured. He was never given the luxury of death to dull the pain.
He quickly rose in the ranks, challenging the best fighters in this underground arena. As he improved, so did the security. He learned to only use enough of his abilities to win. He’d let them underestimate him, because if no one was coming to rescue him, he’d have to do it himself.
The first time he tried to escape was during a competition. About half-way through, when security was the weakest, he barged through the doors and overpowered the guards. He got pretty far, but he was tackled and hauled back to his cell in a muzzle and a straitjacket. He wasn’t given food for a while. He wasn’t even visited.
The next time he saw someone, it was when they grabbed him to fight again. They had kept him constrained, so they didn’t bother with the drugs, which he liked. He felt alive again.
He tried to get away again, and though he was stronger, the security was better. He managed to exit the stadium, only to be shot down. He was dragged back to his cell by his hair, which was greasy and dirty by now. They’d taken the arrow out of his leg, but they weren’t too gentle about it and didn’t bother bandaging it. He spent that night shivering, hands still bound, wondering if this was where he died, in a puddle of his own blood.
A medic came the next morning. They couldn’t have their biggest source of money dead, but they could let him suffer.
He won the next competition, and the one after that, and the one after that. He didn’t hesitate anymore. It wasn’t worth it. He was hurt for any pausing of his blade, and it was just easier to win.
Purpled became the crowd favorite. The noise of their cheers hurt his ears, and soon, he was broken. He came out of his cell willingly, he wasn’t tied up for movement, he just walked with his guards to the arena. He barely remembered life before the fighting ring.
It was only after he blacked out during a competition, woke up surrounded by bodies and liked it, that he realized he needed to leave. He would lose himself if he stayed any longer, and he was all he had left.
He started putting a plan together, but it took time for him to finally escape. He started blacking out more, waking up victorious. He started smiling at the bloodstains on his clothes. He hated himself for it. He knew his opponents would just respawn, but the punishment they faced for losing would be worse than death.
Everything started to be worse than death. Maybe even life.
Purpled took a different approach to escape the third time. It was years after he’d been taken. He doubted anyone outside even knew his name anymore. He waited until he’d won the competition to start going through the doors. They only sent one guard, because they thought he was compliant.
He walked slowly, as if defeated. When he saw the big double doors, he sprinted. He had a head start, and the guard was taken by surprise. He took out a knife that he’d bought and hidden, and when he heard the footsteps behind him as he approached the portal to leave the arena, he held it out.
He spoke for the first time in what felt like forever. His voice was gravelly. “I know how much I am to you.” He flipped the blade to rest against his side. A stab there wouldn’t be fatal, but anything else would. They wouldn’t be able to hurt him if he stabbed himself, because they would risk him respawning alone, while everyone was here. “No one get closer, or I’ll do it.”
Purpled stepped into the portal. He set his destination as the Dream SMP. Maybe he’d be safe there.
He made it pretty far until he heard someone chasing him. He didn’t hesitate, and plunged the blade into his side. It hurt like a bitch, but he needed to escape. Adrenaline flooded his body as the blood flowed out, and he heard a voice yell at everyone to stop running after him. If he died and respawned, they’d need people back in the Bedwars server to catch him.
Purpled ran into the nearest forest he could find, hoping to lose the people still chasing him. He must’ve succeeded, and then he was just running blindly with no destination.
His side was bleeding still, and his head was starting to become fuzzy again. Distantly, he heard voices, but they sounded soft. Not harsh. He took his chances and stumbled towards them.
He emerged from the trees, and could feel himself fall. The voices sounded miles away, but he heard his name. The darkness called to him, and this time, he had hope that it would be better when he woke up.
_____________
“And, yeah. Then I woke up here.” Purpled laughed nervously.
Sam exhaled slowly. “I can’t believe no one noticed how long you’d been gone. I’m so sorry, I should’ve realized.”
Purpled shrugged. “Not really your fault.”
It was silent for a moment, and Ranboo couldn’t help but sympathize with Purpled. He’d heard stories of the illegal fighting, but he never thought he’d know someone affected by it. He was horrified.
As he looked around the room, Ranboo realized that so was everyone else. He was a very good noticer, he liked to think. He saw that everyone in the room was messed up in their own ways, but their dysfunctional family was a place for them to find comfort, recovery, and peace.
He saw it in Fundy, in the way that he always made himself smaller when someone raised their voice, and how he never liked to be left alone in the house, but he loved to curl up at the foot of one of the beds in the bedroom that everyone shared despite there being plenty of others.
He saw it in Tommy and Tubbo and the way their eyes would get glassy while they dreamed and show reflections of battlefields and violence. He saw every time Tubbo woke up with a gasp from dreams colored red, white, and blue, and reached for Tommy. Tubbo would begin preening Tommy’s wings for comfort, slow and meticulously. Tommy always let his family touch his wings, but anyone else would get snarled at. When Tommy woke up to Tubbo petting his feathers, he always would wrap one around the smaller boy and snuggle back into the blankets. Their breathing was softer after that, when they clung to the other as if they would disappear.
He saw it in Purpled, especially, in the next few days. Purpled always froze when someone touched him, and insisted on getting his own food, but he fit into the family dynamic well. He liked movie nights especially, particularly stupid comedies that made him laugh. Purpled let down his guard in the walls of Sam’s house, and didn’t feel the need to constantly be armed. He wasn’t scared of blacking out or liking the smell of blood.
He even saw it in himself. He wasn’t worried about being abandoned again, he wasn’t scared of his powers. He might forget to speak English in the mornings every now and then, he might wake up crying and need help to stop, but he let himself fall into the embrace of his family when he needed the help. There was always someone to help me.
He maybe saw it in Sam the most. No one was completely sure of Sam’s past, but the way he hissed every time someone startled him, or tried to hide how he coughed up gunpowder occasionally probably had something to do with it. Sam was so focused on building, whether it be with materials or a safe family, that there had to be something in his past with destruction. No one asked, though. They just leaned against his shoulder whenever he wedged himself on the couch between them.
Ranboo’s mind wandered further. He hadn’t seen Puffy or Niki in a few days, and though he wasn’t concerned, he missed them.
“I think I’m going to see Puffy this afternoon. Does anyone want to come with me?” He asked, breaking the lengthy silence that had settled over the room. They were all just lounging, but Sam was looking out the window towards the woods. He was letting out a soft sizzling noise, and walked towards the door.
“I don’t think so, Ran. You wanna walk with me a little bit, though?” Sam asked, and Ranboo got up to follow.
“What you looking at, big man?” Ranboo asked, trying to ignore how Tommy was rubbing off on him.
“Oh, just thought I saw something that I want to double check, and you’re going this way anyway.”
They reached the edge of the forest, and Sam held out a hand to make Ranboo stop walking. He looked around a little, then lunged towards one of the bushes. He came out with one hand grasped around the collar of a man with a large moustache.
“So you were the one I heard the other day. Are you one of the people who were hunting Purpled?” Sam hissed, and Ranboo knew his throat was burning with the feeling of gunpowder.
The man flinched at the harshness of Sam’s voice. “I was just looking for him. He’s been staying with us for a while and he ran off, we were hoping you knew where he went?”
Sam crouched and squinted. “How much of an idiot do you think I am?” Ranboo was surprised at the coldness in Sam’s voice. “You’re lucky I don’t kill you right here for how much you hurt him. You’re lucky I don’t just slit your throat for coming here and threatening the safety of my family.”
The man cowered. “He doesn’t have any family. I don’t even know who you are.”
Sam laughed, but it wasn’t the kind one that Ranboo knew. This chuckle was harsh and unforgiving. “You wouldn’t have a reason to. I tend to stay in the shadows until something needs to be done. I suggest you leave now, and I suggest you don’t come back.”
Ranboo liked to think that he knew what Sam was planning on. So, once Sam had stood back up and let the man go, he asked, “How long of a head start are you giving him?”
Sam laughed and started leaving. “Not long.”
(Sam was gone for awhile. They got the news a few days later that someone had gotten into one of the fighting rings and dismantled the entire operation. No one was sure how, nor who it was. One was dead: the man with the long beard. There were small holes from explosions, and the air smelled of gunpowder. No one would come for Purpled after that.)
Ranboo shrugged and continued on his journey, eventually finding himself on the steps of Puffy and Niki’s house. He knocked on the door, and Niki opened it with a smile and pulled him into a hug. “Hey, Boo! It’s been a hot minute, where’ve you been?”
“Just hanging out! Tubbo, Fundy, and Purpled have joined us, so the bedroom is getting a little crowded.”
Puffy walked over as Ranboo was ushered into the house. “Didn’t he spend an entire day renovating his base to have bedrooms for all of you guys though? I remember he showed me blueprints and they all had names on them.”
Ranboo paused. “You mean… He planned on housing us?”
Puffy shrugged. “Yeah, it was either him or me. We figured all you guys deserve a break, some peace, after all you’ve been through.”
Ranboo hummed. “Interesting.”
“Just don’t bring it up to him, though.” Niki piped up. “He’ll never admit to it. Too humble. Tea?”
“Yes, please, dear!” Puffy said, and Ranboo said he’d have some too. It was incredibly domestic, just sitting at the dining room table, sipping tea, and talking about everything. Niki mentioned how she was working on a garden, and Puffy said she was going to make an apiary, so Ranboo sat and listened to them chatting.
He told them about the new additions to the family, and they said they’d have to bake cookies for them or something. They ended up making brownies that afternoon, and Ranboo helped. By the time they finished, it was dark, so the two women convinced Ranboo to stay the night and they’d go with him to deliver the brownies in the morning.
When the group of three did go back to Sam’s house, they stayed for most of the day. Why would they leave, when the couch was so comfy, and the laughs were plenty, and Tommy’s wings needed preening?

{Sleep} - SleepyBoisInc Fanfic
(Family dynamic, no relationships)
As peaceful nights went by over the years Techno would say but never admit he has had sleeping issues from time to time. Some times it was the surroundings, the voices getting to loud in his head. Or just the anxiety and stress hitting him all at once like a magazine of bullets to a heavy duty bullet proof chest plate. Philza could remember sleepless nights from him, the mornings he would come out of his room looking like a zombie. The whimpering and the yelps of fear coming from behind his door as he would walk by. The pig hybrid wasn’t one to be babied unless he really had to be, turning away almost all efforts to calm him down every time. To the point where Phil didn’t even know what was really going on with him unless he pried at him enough to be honest. Many nights over the years went by with this constant cycle. At this rate it was normal by now for the pink haired warrior and his so called father or best friend. He has faced facts that sleepless nights were only a common thing for him as soon as they started to happen more and more. The rate soon increased due to him leaving Philza and coming to the new world of Dream SMP. Being alone once more like he never wanted to be truthfully. Not even the presence of his so called little brother could calm him down once he started to stay with him. It only made things worse with all of the stress already upon him  Yet once his best friend comes back he realizes how bad things seem to be with him that he hasn’t noticed before.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Techno sighed as he sat on the chair next to Tommy sleeping peacefully in his bed he had offered an hour before. Shutting the book in his lap he had been reading nights before from Ranboo. The hybrids eyes were peaceful and tired looking as he watched the young boys chest rise and fall slowly as he laid there. The short breaths as he turned and laid on his side suddenly occurred. A small pained whimper escaped from his mouth as he landed on his hurt wrist. The bandages stood out in the some what lit room, all the damage of the outside world from exile. All the damage from someone Techno thought he could call an ally this whole time. He chose not to think of what he has done, knowing it would send him in to blood thirst and rage. But seeing those bandages reminded both of them they weren’t welcomed anywhere at the moment for some time. A small sigh escaped Techno’s mouth as he stood up from his chair. The floor creaking with almost every light foot step he took. Phil took the spare bed up in the attic he had, being a runaway he thought it would help conceal him in necessary. Techno’s scarred hand ran over his tired eyes, he soon stopped at the stairs. Glancing back quickly at the blonde ruined boy in his bed. He wondered what went on in his head for a second. Knowing his screams would be heard in the next hour or two of nightmares he has frequently. Knowing he would have to be there for him soon for the comfort the young boy yearned in the aftermath.
The pink haired warrior quietly made his way down the stairs to the bottom of his quiet dim lit home. His scarred fingers ran through his some what knotted hair he had been meaning to brush. He mostly ignored it, getting old memories from when he was young and Wilbur used to play his matted mess every now and again. A quiet yawn escaped from the warriors mouth as he stepped by the window. The crackle and pop of the fire place was heard as he stood there alone with the light shining at his back.
Dream......
Blood.....Blood.....Blood must be spilled
Blood for the blood god
Dream must pay!
L’manburg must pay!
BLOODSHED!
DREAM’S BLOOD!
Dream......bloodshed
Blood.....NOW
Techno groaned in annoyance as he stood there up against the side of the wall. His eyes darted around at the mobs that roamed outside freely with out a care. The voices had returned to haunt him once more as always, he agreed with them mostly but now wasn’t really the time or the place. In order to defeat the god like man himself he needed advanced weapons and a plan at which he didn’t have. Techno glanced down at his scarred forearm, forgetting to roll down his sleeves of his shirt to cover the past. His eye slowly blinked as he stood there, reaching forward to grab his extra sword that hung on the holster near the door. Boredom was setting in and the voices would only get louder if no violence was played out. This cycle was played time and time again. The more Techno thought he knew he to control the voices the less he actually did. The hybrid smirked as he walked out the front door of his place. His sword out and ready as he ran closer over toward the mobs that surrounded the area.
He was quick, fierce and made to be feared, the phrase Technoblade Never Dies was an honor and a curse at the same time for him. His body was quick among the reaction of his enemies coming round. The clawing from he zombies was almost like a poke of a stick to him. The attacks of the spiders were nothing to be feared. Arrows were shot and merely dodged out of the way as soon as they were near his body. The blood god stabbed and sliced his way through the mobs around him. Leaving him with blood on the end of his sword and in need of a change of a different shirt soon afterward. He soon shook his head, breaking him self of blood lust the loomed within himself. Over the years he has gotten better at controlling himself, but that fear of hurting the ones dearest to him was still there. The blood god took a step back and took in his surroundings, the blood, bones and body parts lay around the ground. Either to be picked up or to despawn soon was sunrise comes. A smirk appeared on his face as he stared, confident in his work he has just done. Not even realizing the pair of icy blue eyes staring down at him from his house behind him. The warrior sighed as his legs carried him back to the house willingly. The rush of adrenaline was over and now he felt as if he could crash of exhaustion from the past couple of nights with barely a wink of rest.
The warrior opened his door and shut it behind him as quiet as he could. His palm wiped off the smeared blood on his cheek as he placed his sword back where it belonged. Knowing he would have to clean that and his shirt in the morning. The hybrid winced as he took of his button up, laying it on to the chair by the door as a reminder. He was quick as he dug in to some chests in order to find a new one that he owned. One of his fears was his friends or family as you would say to see him like this. See all of his battle scars from over the years. Some he told stories about when they asked, others he wished to forget that stayed and were permanent on his pale skin. Ashamed of what he happened and what he had done. Techno smiled softly as he found of of his spare shirts in the chest.
“techno....” The blood god jumped upon hearing his voice, banging his head on the top of the chest lid. The hybrid cursed under his breath as he stood up from the chest, his blue and gray eyes glanced back. Finding Phil half the way down the stairs with a tired and concerned look on his face. He was trying to pull off the stern look but ever since they were young he knew he never could pull it off with his sons unless it was truly something bad. The hybrid froze suddenly, a wave of awareness and anxiety washed over him. He knew it was dark but he also knew Phil had better eye sight then the average person from his own hybrid ways. The warrior bit his lip, knowing he would draw blood because of his canines if he didn’t stop now. He didn’t know why but he was intimidated and quite frankly scared of what he might say.
Technoblade was a Blood God and here he was confused and scared over his so called father. It was a weakness, he knew Phil was his weakness. He could even say Tommy was starting to be as well. He hated the idea, he knew the others were starting to catch on like they did at his execution that went horribly wrong. But he knew if something happened to him that they would be starting a war that they couldn’t end. It was one thing that he had that Dream didn’t and that would hurt him in the final run. But it also meant that he was more human then monster at most.
“Techno what are you doing up so late.....it’s going on 4 in the morning mate” Phil asked calmly, not wanting to talk about Techno’s scars he saw as he came down. To be fair he wasn’t even surprised by them anyway, but he could tell by Techno’s tense figure that he didn’t want to speak about them. The pig hybrid sighed as he slipped his fresh shirt on as the blonde walked closer toward him.
“Couldn’t sleep....” The blood god wasn’t sure if he should go in to detail or if he should stay quiet. He has gotten on fine on his own ever since he left the Arctic empire. He could handle himself just fine, he didn’t want pity. Maybe that’s why Tommy didn’t want pity either, he was such a bad influence on him now that he thinks about it more. The Blood God flinched to the soft touch of the hand on his shoulder. Taking a step back to gather what was going on since he stared off in to space. He glanced away embarrassed as Phil took a step closer, returning his palm to his shoulder. His other hand reached up and wiped away the blood that was still on his cheek. Almost like how it was when he he was little and would have mud on himself from rainy days. Phil deeply missed those times when they were young, but he knew he could never have that back. He needed to be here for them right here and right now. Phil gazed at Techno’s eyes, the blood lust was gone for now which was good. But the light within them were dulled and tired, the bluish color had faded in to the gray look more then he had expected. This was the first time Phil had gotten a good look at what Techno had looked like. Sure he has been back for around a month now, but he wanted to give him the distance he needed before he fully came back to not overwhelm him. He never realized how much he has changed ever since he had left. The scars, the personality, it seemed like Techno had major trust issues over all then what he had years before. A small sigh escaped Phil’s lips as he watched Techno’s expression change from staring off to fidgeting in awkwardness. His ADHD was still the same though after all this time.
“Are you sure......was it the voices again?” Phil asked which seemed to catch Techno’s attention greatly as they stood there. Now Phil knew that was a factor in his insomnia now. Techno had forgotten how Phil could read people like a book with ease. Regretting even making a face toward his words, as they stood there. It was a lot of factors that played in to his insomnia, but he didn’t want to get n to it. He was fine and that was the end of that conversation. But as they both stood quietly, Techno’s ears picked up the small whimpering sounds upstairs. His eyes widened as he quickly made his way up without even telling Phil what was wrong. Forgetting to since he just broke him out of house arrest yesterday. He was quick as he made his way toward Tommy, sobbing there under the covers. He was tossing and turning frantically as Techno came closer toward him. It was another panic attack in his sleep that came along with the nightmares he has been having. As soon as Techno took a place on the bed Tommy shot up from his sleep. Gasping for air as sweat dripped from his brow, his eyes were frantic as he looked around the room. Meeting Techno’s gaze quickly beside him, his arms were soon wrapped around him as tight as he possibly could. Techno sighed as he glanced over toward Phil coming closer toward them. Sweet nothings were whispered the the young blonde in the warriors arms to calm him down. His small shaking body is what scared techno the most, how fragile he had become. He was getting better over all, but Dream seemed to ruin a lot more then what meets the eye to anyone. Techno could see right through him and so could Phil. Tommy was broken on the inside and the outside and would have to take a while before he is healed.
“Calm down Tommy......you’re safe.....you’re okay...I-I’m right here...” Techno said calmly, his voice changed from deep to a little lighter. Using the same techniques Phil did to him when he would have a panic attack all those years ago. Phil sighed as he sat down next to Techno on the bed. Rubbing Tommy’s back softly as he cried in to Techno’s chest. Technoblade was uncomfortable, after Tommy had been staying with him for around 2 weeks maybe three he still hasn’t wrapped his head around how to specifically help him.
“H-He was there T-Tech.....h-he had a sword a-and....h-he hurt m-”
“Don’t think about that right now Tommy just focus on us alright....everything is alright, no need to cry..... You are just fine and you’re here with us mate....He isn’t here and we won’t let him either I can promise you that” Phil softly replied, watching as Tommy’s breaths slowed as he sniffed and coughed. Phil knew Techno wasn’t used to comforting and these kinds of things. But he was proud to see how well he was reacting and caring for Tommy over all. Techno sighed softly as he fixed his posture, noticing Tommy falling slowly back asleep but in his arms. He tired himself out that quickly from crying for so long.
“How long has this been happening?”
“Not sure, he was living underneath the house for who knows how long to get away from “Him”.....ever since I started letting him stay he has had these panic attacks and nightmares....sometimes he’ll get them when we go out and he’ll see his old place or when he hears “His” name......been trying my best to help him but it’s been hard”
“That’s why you haven’t been sleeping much too isn’t it.” Phil asked as he watched Tommy shift in Techno’s arms. Hearing the strong hybrid sigh as he moved some of his hair out of his face. Phil hated seeing them like this, broken, scared, anxious, cold, blocked off. Some aspects one had over the other. But it was all the same, in the amount of time he wasn’t there so much has changed. He couldn’t believe half of it, or he didn’t want to believe half of it even if it was true. As Philza was in thought he felt a hand on his knee, gazing up to find a small smile on Techno’s face he missed seeing.
“Thank you.....for calming him down, usually these fits last longer then that and he refuses to go back to bed.” Techno softly said as with a small chuckle. His own body was about to shut down from lack of sleep too. The pig hybrid slowly laid Tommy back down on to his bed and laid the covers over him. Technoblade stretched to hear the familiar pop of his shoulder blades and back. Phil’s hand made contact with his shoulder once more to grab his attention. No flinch was followed like the first one which was good. Techno’s eyes slowly reached the blondes caring gaze. Watching his icy eyes look over him with his warm smile.
“Get some rest mate, I’m sure Tommy would mind sharing the bed you gave him generously”
“But Phil I-”
“No buts Techno.....you need your rest and by the looks of it you haven’t been getting much sleep as is. Getting sleep makes you more aware and let’s you energize yourself. You can’t keep staying up whether you like it or not” Phil replied as he moved he blanket covering Tommy. Techno rolled his eyes softly as he gazed at Phil. He was stubborn he had to give him that, maybe that’s where he got that trait from. But he knew there was no fighting Philza on this, he needed the sleep he just forced his body to stay up. A annoyed sigh left he lips as he started to lay down on the opposite side of the bed. Feeling the blanket be brought up slowly to cover his unusually warm body. Phil smiled down at him softly as he watched sleep starting to take over Techno’s tense body.
“I’ll see ya in the morning mate....I’ll make breakfast so you can sleep in a bit alright”
“Phil you don’t have to....”
“No I want to....take it as a repayment for breaking me out of house arrest”
“You don’t owe me anything Phil.....”
“No I do.....trust me on that one mate....I defiantly do.....get some sleep alright. I don’t want to find you awake before me”
“fine” Philza smiled upon hearing those words, knowing Techno had given up on staying up for the night. There were multiple things going on with him from what Phil could tell that kept him up late. He hoped he could fix some of those things like he used to be able to. But for now this was a good start for them both, he just hoped things could stay this way for a while before something worse could happen.

2: I will figure it out eventually and that's a promise.
3: Watson is aboustely heart broken and near tears multiple times as well hearing Ran in so much distress and actually crying. Jackie does cry, he attempts multiple times to hug Ran and make it known he's there to comfort him, but it only works sometimes, and when it doesn't work Ran gets scared and tries to get away believing an attacker has gotten him. Grievous is almost like silently grieving, knowing he can't do anything to help his close friend. Cletus feels bad, and since he isnt too good with emotions, focuses on instead attempting to cheer everyone else up. Isaac and Benjamin feel awful as they feel at fault for letting it happen, so to hopefully help they make plans on how to make Ran as comfortable and safe as can be while also getting him to a nearby town they heard about to hopefully reverse it. Charles is doing his damn best to comfort Ran while also distracting him from his own thoughts, which mostly means Charles (and Watson) play the role of story teller for a while. Ranbob is the hardest hit by it, he's suffering so much because he so badly just wants to go over and hug his little brother and comfort him, tell him that it'll all be ok and that Bobby would protect him. But also knows he can't because he knows that would most likely do nothing but make it worse. For a while he spends his time blocking his ears and wrapped in a comfort blanket trying to comfort himself, as everyone else tend to his suffering brother. One thing that makes it harder is that Ran begins to purr to himself in a vain attempt to comfort himself (cause I personally like to think Enderman hybrids are like cats and purr like them, when their happy, content, comfortable, but also to soothe themselves and heal wounds), when Ranbob knows Ran's never purred, so knowing he's so desperate to try it now hurts him.
You will get some comfort, like Watson manages to convince Ranbob to at least hug Ran, and Ranbob manages to purr alongside Ran a bit, which does actually help to calm Ran down. Ran getting wrapped up with the fluffiest blanket they have and always having Watson, Jackie, or Grievous by his side. With Jackie tending to hold his hand.
4: All of the above. Sudden touch can be overwhelming to Ranbob at times, especially when he's not doing well mentally. Also while in this state, touch reminds him of the desperate grabbing and touching of the people he killed that tried to escape or fend him off. And Dream was able to hurt Ranbob by starving and dehydrating him of course, but when Ranbob was being particularly disobedient and tried to fight back Dream would often take control and cut or stab Ranbob then gave back control as punishment.
10: It does get better! Idk if I already said but Kelalen is actually where they get the antidote for Rans blindness potion! And when their given it for free and it works, they become very grateful to Adler and Lucia (the one who actually convinced Adler to give them the potion in the first place cause it was the only one left). And a few days after they arrive they actually decide to explore the town, where they meet Siren and get more information on Dream and who he was, they also get their weapons and armor repaired by them. But while talking with Siren, Cletus and Grievous sneak off and run into Atlas, then Cletus and Grievous agree to help Atlas with his prank. But by the end of their second week in Kelalen the group starts to truly enjoy their stay, Ranbob often saying how it kind of reminds him of Mizu before everything happened.
12: Thats funny though and is exactly how I'd want to be seen.
13: *CLAPS HANDS* OH BOY DO I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU. I RECENTLY TOLD MY FRIEND ABOUT RANBOB SEEING HIS DEAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUT FAILED TO TELL THEM IT WASNT ACTUALLY PART OF THE STORY. SO THEY TOOK IT LITTERALY AND THEY HAVE GIVEN ME IDEAS, WHILE ALSO HELPING ME REALIZE THAT THIS COULD ACTUALLY BE USED TO SET UP FOR RANBOB MOVING PAST HIS TRAUMAS AND CAN LEAD TO MORE FLUFF AND ANGST. SO NOW IT IS PART OF THE STORY, WITH CHANGES THAT IT HAPPENED DURING A DREAM AND HE DIDNT BELIEVE IT AND CONSIDERED IT A CRUEL JOKE BY FATE ITSELF AT FIRST. AND YES BY AT FIRST I MEAN THIS HAPPENS MANY MORE TIMES.
Also my friend has a message for you, "HahA THEY BETTER THANK ME I SET THEM UP FOR MORE MISERY 😈😈 /j" (I wanna be safe so if you don't know /j means that their joking)
14: Im not doing Foolish and Dream brothers because I personally don't like/get it. But I was thinking maybe they meet Foolish after Mripat tells them that there was a member of the SMP who was said to be a god and immortal. And after some long conversations they decide to go hunt for this apparently immortal god. Which takes a while since no one actually knows where he is, just that he likes deserts, and have to go off possible sightings or hints in history books. And when they finally meet him they manage to learn about totems (which they previously didn't know about) and even get some. They also learn that infact even during the SMP time no one quite knew what Dream was, and learns the ways the SMP tried to permanently get rid of him. Foolish is also devastated to know that Dream infact survived and becomes determined to help them. Even offering his help that if they ever go back to Mizu to face Dream, he'll come along and help in anyway he can.
15: I like to imagine Edward remembers Ranboo as the young troubled enderman that he basically adopted and took care of. So Edward sees Ranboo in both Ran and Ranbob, so he offers his help and advice. Basically becoming their Grandad, telling stories about everything he's seen. Especially about Ranboo because Ranbob is so curious about his ancestor he just cant help but ask. One convo I've been particularly thinking about goes something like, "Edward: Older one, what do you think your brother thinks about you? Ranbob: I..I think he doesnt like me, and that he wants me gone. Edward: Hmm, your wrong. Ranbob: What? Edward: When I look at Ran, I see a child, not an adult yet, scarred, scared and traumatized. A child that wishes you two were closer, that he could forgive you and wants to believe you, just so you two could be family again. But is afraid too, for he already has a family, that he is terrified of losing, and is scared if he attempts to trust you again that they may leave him. But make no mistake, your brother wants to make amends, your brother cares about you and wants you happy. He knows deep down that he can trust you, and that you are innocent, but you all must help him acknowledge those parts, and stand by him, helping him walk when needed, as he traverses his own nightmares." AKA I really want Edward to be the reason Ranbob realizes that Ran does want to be family again but needs help. Cause if I had to describe the brothers current positions with their trauma it'll be, Ranbob-Knows he has trauma and is trying to get better and live with it, willingly getting help. Ran-Is fucking drowning in trauma cause he refuses to acknowledge he has it and hides it well most of the time, also doesn't ask for help.
2: I fear the day.
3: Hahaha, ow, ow, ow. That, overall, is...heartbreaking. At the same time though, it’s sweet to see everyone pitching in to do their best and help him. We got it with Ranbob, now we get it with Ran.
I am curious, though. From what you’ve said, Blindness potions don’t wear off immediately? Why’s that?
4: *Chants* Please punch Dream. Please punch Dream. Please punch Dream. How do the fishermen deal with this, and help Ranbob?
10: Oh, god, Ran’s blind when they arrive in town. That’s definitely a high tension situation. Not only have you got him out of commission, but everyone else high strung from it, and probably having their protective instincts in overdrive when they randomly get treated hostilely. What exactly does an antidote for blindness consist of? Do most potions have antidotes, or counters? Is milk no longer used, or is that not a thing in the AU? It does sound nice that they all end up making friends later on though. How does Ran adjust to having his sight back? And, y’know, having everyone see him like that, and his brother comfort him(if they aren’t on good terms at this point, the timeline’s confusing me a bit)
12: Throughout this conversation, every time I read something sad, the image struck me, and honestly, it’s what you deserve. If these keeps up, I’m gonna start inserting these little 🏹s every time you hurt my heart.
13: I’m being conspired against. Does everyone see this? Brothers Anon and their friend are conspiring to break my heart. Such gremlins. What did I ever do to you two?
Also, you can tell your friend that from this point on, I will closely associate them with a tiny, purple, cackling imp.
14: Huh. Why do they want to find Foolish? Curiosity? To learn more about the Smp? About Dream? Sounds like it has a lot of potential to be quite the interesting encounter. And, since they didn’t previously know about the totems, they probably wouldn’t notice if one activated in a certain situation where it’s popped...do with that what you will.
15: Anon, I love all of this. Tell me more about Grandpa Edward. Does he fondly look back to Ranboo being polite and quiet while Ranbob and Ran cause havoc in the background? Does he bake them snacks and tell them about Ranboo’s adventures, and how much he loved to mine-which, in hindsight, is kind of funny, considering you just mentioned that so few people follow Skeppy because of the mining, but apparently their ancestor did that thing for fun.

An Objective Assessment of c!Dream’s Current Situation and What the Future Might Hold
/rp SO One thing I want to get out of the way first off is that we all know Dream will eventually get out of that prison. It is a foregone conclusion at this point; he’s not going to be in there forever. Now, exactly how he gets out of there is the topic of hot debate right now, and honestly I’m excited to see what they might plan (as long as it doesn’t involve outright destroying it please GOD after yesterday’s trip through it that would break my heart). I think the theory of Dream pulling the favor card with Techno is the most popular at the moment. REGARDLESS!!! That is not what I’m here to talk about. What I really want to get into is how Dream’s situation will stay objectively the same regardless of whether or not he gets out of Pandora’s Vault. Because it’s honestly fascinating.
The finale of season 2 brought with it some very interesting revelations about Dream as a character, which honestly felt like rain in the desert because at this point, we know so little about him. Now, the added mystery is what makes him intriguing, but it also leaves the audience in the twilight zone when it comes to important things, like his motivations and how those things might drive him to behave well into the future. Any scrap of information we get is important, because it helps us piece together a more coherent picture of the guy, thus allowing us to make reasonable predictions about the future of the SMP, and his place in it. In the finale, Dream revealed that his obsession with Tommy’s discs had less to do with control over Tommy individually and more to do with control over the server as a whole. Although, don’t get me wrong, they were still a very large part of the deal. Tommy was very much Dream’s lynchpin. He was the fulcrum of Dream’s entire plot; everything rested on him being able to contain Tommy and use him for his own means. But Tommy and his discs were also stepping stones towards a much larger goal, evident in the macabre trophy room Dream made, ready and waiting for all the items and pets (and even people) of personal importance to individuals all across the server.  Dream claimed that it was Tommy who brought attachment (and therefore conflict through attachment) to the server (”to discs, to pets, to friends, to land, to countries, to items”), and in several ways he was correct. The Disc Saga was the beginning of interpersonal conflict on the Dream SMP, and Dream fixated on this in a big way, to the point where he narrowed down all his problems to both attachment and control, until he landed on control through attachment. And in the finale, Dream claimed that he willingly gave up all of his own attachments so that no one would be able to control him like he planned to control everyone else-- we even saw this in action waaay back at the beginning of the Exile Arc, when Dream straight up told Tommy to burn Spirit’s remains, and claimed that he didn’t care about anything or anyone barring the discs. Now, we can sort of interpret what he meant when he said that’s all he cares about, because we have another piece of the bigger picture thanks to that finale. When Dream said all he cared about was the discs, we only have to look into the subtext of the scene to see that what he was actually saying was that all he cares about is control. Control is to Dream what Attachment is to Tommy; he has to have it, he’ll do anything to get it, he pretty much did do anything to get it.  And then he lost. And we get to see the first fracture in the mask of the confidant, taunting, cruel, and manipulative Dream we’ve gotten used to. He wasn’t expecting to lose; this wasn’t in the cards for him. He went into that confrontation with the assumption that he had planned for everything. He went into it with the assumption that he knew everything he needed to about his opponents, and how to manipulate everything to fall in his favor. Except he was wrong. Because in all that crowing about attachments and controlling people through them, it ended up being the one thing he didn’t account for. Yes, Punz was an absolute champion for leading everyone to the portal that got them into Dream’s vault, and his line when he stepped through will go down in history right next to “It was never meant to be”, but remember: he was paid to do it. He is a mercenary. For him, this was not about attachment. What I’d really like to point your attention to is literally everyone else. Oh to be a fly on the wall in that moment; I wish we could have seen it. Punz was the only one who was obligated to enter that vault; he accepted payment from Tommy, they had a de-facto contract. Everyone else had the option of staying behind. They didn’t have to go. They could have simply… done nothing. Stayed where they were and accepted the likelihood that Tommy and Tubbo would not be coming back. But they didn’t. They all came to both a personal and a collective decision to follow Punz into that situation. For one reason or another, they made a conscious choice to stand against Dream. They didn’t know what they would find on the other end of that portal, perhaps it would be certain death. But they went anyway. And it was all because of attachment. Not necessarily attachment to Tommy-- Jack Manifold and Niki were both there, and we all know how they feel about him-- but attachment in general nonetheless. Just as Dream said, Tommy brought conflict to the server, conflict that stemmed from attachments: “to pets, to friends, to land, to countries, to items.” Because of this, everyone had stakes in this game. Everyone had something on the line whether they knew it or not, something they could lose if Dream won, and again I only have to point to that trophy room to prove it. But they decided that Dream was no longer allowed to be the puppetmaster, making his plays from the shadows and laughing while everyone else suffered around him.  They made a stand as a collective, something frequent Ranboo viewers (myself included) have been frothing at the mouth for in the past few weeks. They formed a physical barrier between Dream and Tommy+Tubbo; they forced him to back down. I cannot stress this enough: this one scene was the highest the Dream SMP has ever climbed. The triumph and heart in that one moment was indescribable. It was vindication, and solidarity, and righteous anger, and courage, and hope, and unity.
For the first time in a very long time, the entire server stood for something as one again, and that is what will not change about Dream’s situation if he makes it out of Pandora’s Vault. Dream has no one. He said it himself, he purposefully cut away all attachments. And Techno? Techno will only help Dream in the future because that debt is still hanging over his head. Otherwise, their goals don’t align anymore. Remember, Techno has recently made a more concrete commitment to anarchy- not just wanton destruction, but true anarchy, relying not on hierarchy, but on communal effort and ties. And Dream is on the fast track to becoming a true tyrant. That too is a foregone conclusion. Dream’s obsession with control and order on the SMP will inevitably lead to tyranny; there is no other place for it to go, and I don’t think Techno will stand for that. Once his debt is repaid and Dream cashes in that favor, Techno will no longer be obliged to assist him.  And even then, even with the possibility of Techno helping him, even with the possibility of him putting Punz back on his payroll, Dream will still have no one. You think either of those guys are going to be his friend? No. At best, it will be a business partnership, at worst Dream will have to force Techno to honor the debt. Techno is a wildcard in every sense of the word, and someone could always just pay Punz more than Dream again. He has no one to rely on, no one who is truly loyal to him. That’s what stays the same. Because even if he makes it out of Pandora’s Vault, he will still be just as alone on the outside as he is in that cell.
