He had learned of a new squad captain through his good friend Jack when they both went out drinking. No one had seen her yet but there were already a lot of rumors everywhere.

Days after that conversation, he was called to the captains' meeting and that was when he found her sitting at the table next to Julius who would introduce her to the rest.

He noticed the very presentable way she seemed to be dressed and even her face screamed royalty.

Yami never liked royalty and insisted on being exactly the opposite just to irritate them but that one caught his fragile little heart.

The captain noticed a large amount of mana and strength coming from her through the ki reading, this made him give a little smile before he approached the table and sat down next to her. (Charlotte was screaming and kicking her feet in the corner of the room)

"So, I heard that you are the new captain, you seem to be quite young. Welcome!" He said with a confident and relaxed air as he sat next to her, who just looked at him from head to toe

"Oh, you must be the captain of the black bulls, the squad of troublemakers, Yami Sukehiro. Nice to meet you!" She smiled at him and he frowned at the way she spoke about his squad

"Troublemakers?! No, we're not! We are very organized." He defended

"Really? From what I heard you didn't even get a gold star." She said and he went blank for a moment, knowing it was true

"Okay, who was the asshole who said that ?" He drew his sword

Since then, Yami started to feel like getting closer to her and finding out more about her but at the same time he was afraid that she wouldn't give her a chance because she was royalty. She spoke to him whenever she met him at meetings or by chance.

At meetings, he always wanted to arrive early to have the seat next to her (He once got into a fight with Nozel because he "stole" his seat).

He will also be more likely to make jokes or comments to see if she looks at him or says something.

He also met her by chance, on a night out, and bought her a drink just so he could spend a moment with her.

He did everything to get her attention and be with her, even if it was just to see her once a day.

Finral began to find this all very strange, especially the fact that the captain was spending more time in the capital than usual and decided to confront him. He also suspected that Yami was having a crush on the new captain and that was why he was doing this.

"Captain, is everything ok? You've been away in the capital city for so long and haven't given any news." The boy said while scratching his head, a little nervous

"It's work, that's all." Yami said, turning the page of the newspaper and taking a drag on his cigarette

"Are you sure? It's because I've noticed that you seem to have a crush on the new captain."Finral joked but saw that it had gone wrong when the captain got up from the armchair with his sword in his hand and a threatening face

"Are you going to stop this conversation and get out of my way or am I going to have to kill you?" Yami threatened, extending his sword towards him and the boy, shaking in his boots, ran away. "Yeah, that's what I thought. "The captain sat down again and went back to reading

I haven’t been insane about Vi enough lately so time to pour out some random thoughts. free association thinking time:

been thinking about her “It's my savings. I wanna be rich, okay? So I can travel, eat well, buy cool stuff… So no one can say I can't do something!” And none of the following will really be insightful or revelatory because it’s just what she says here but. yeah! that’s vi! the main reason she’s so big on money is because she has to be to get what she wants out of life! it’s what lets her say no to people telling her what to do, and that’s important to her because she has no choice but to be independent and support herself. because no one else will. No one at the Hive had anything positive or supportive to say about her being an explorer until she went out and did it (to a ridiculously successful degree, too. I have to wonder if/how it might’ve differed if she was on a regular accomplishment level team. not the one leading them all to the mission to the Hive). she never had a choice not to be. I could also see that being a little part of why she starts out not really being a teamwork person. past experiences have taught her she can’t rely on anyone else for support. (does make me wonder about what if she’d met Chubee before leaving the Hive. obviously she still would’ve left, but how might even a bit of support have changed other things?)

I feel like we don’t talk about the fact that The Beemerang Is Also Knives enough

ok so at one point there was this post talking about people with money and how it affects their life like. if you can afford to get a nanny then you can only do the fun parts of childcare and when you stop feeling like taking care of the kid you can just hand them to someone else to take them away. and again likely not especially revelatory but I would guess that’s the kind of way queen bianca handled the bees as her daughters (she does care about them. absolutely. but not in the same hands-on attached way as we usually associate with parents) and thinking about how that kind of treatment would then apply to vi....hm

in universes where discussions of Gender and Pronouns etc happen I think she has moments where she gets frustrated with the everything of Being Referred To and Having Complicated Identity She Hasn’t Quite Figured Yet and is like. gender is cancelled how dare you refer to me. but especially anyone else calls me a girl ever i will be stabbing them

also I think a lot about what circumstances she finds out about gayness/Gender being things. and whether she’s thought about it in herself before and whether she’d been dismissed on it/told it wasn’t a thing etc. most circumstances she ends up angry about the finding out times because of (un)consicious internal conflict stuff

underground tavern stuff implies she was definitely doing quests and stuff for money with them precanon. would kill to know what specifically it was. but also the first talk with utter implies that she was doing stuff off that questboard as well which is even more intriguing. utter’s spy also implies you don’t have to be an explorer to do them but otherwise you would think you did I feel. so again very curious what was up there

-In "The Beginning", as the U.S. Chosen are gathered, while it's not outright stated, it's not unreasonable to assume they were keeping an eye on Network updates made by Miyako earlier on to the Network, also often related via Koushiro, {+related by 02 Chosen}. S. Chosen, and semi-active in acting as support that can easily be called upon, like most International Chosen.

-Koushiro and Steve in this A.U. share a friendship and communication style that TRANSCENDS what most may think of as "friendship" or "good" styles of ""communication"" - both know (Steve especially also knowing thanks to own culture) that no matter how far apart they are, they can always rely on each other to be there when needed (or wanted), even if it's difficult to "physically" meet up in off-line life.

-As stated in this scene, Steve wasn't necessarily first 'Chosen' in 1991, or at least not 'exactly' in the same timeframe as Michael. Random Boyfriend!Frank Headcanons

Just thinkin' about girly things.

Frank would never let you be lifting heavy things. Not even in an obvious way, it's almost unconscious the way he grabs the pack of canned seltzers out of your hands at the store or takes the suitcase from your grip as you navigate the airport.

He's always making sure you've had food, not only worrying that you're taking care of yourself but also knowing how you get when your blood sugar is low. "Have a snack before you go, yeah? I don't need you gettin' cranky on me."

If you're out in public, he's always got a hand on you. Your lower back, cupping your ass, splayed on your thigh, holding your hand-- you're never not in his touch bubble out in public.

Oh he's DEFINITELY a one-hand-on-the-steering-wheel-one-hand-on-your-leg driver. It gives you butterflies every time.

The minute you two became official was the minute you never needed to fill your gas tank again. You honestly didn't know when he even filled the tank (answer: usually in the middle of the night when he couldn't sleep anyway) but it was always full.

He is a MAJOR sucker for a back scratch. In fact, it's his favorite way to fall asleep, your manicured nails dragging lightly on his back

Speaking of sleep, he thinks its adorable when you fall asleep on the couch, 4 minutes into a movie. The minute he sees you adjust to a prone position he teases you with a "goodnight sweetheart" and watches the rest of the movie with you sleeping beside him. Then he grunts as he bends to scoop you up from the couch and tuck you into bed.

He is obsessed, I mean OBSESSED, with your vanilla perfume. The man practically went feral the first time he smelled it on you. You breezed past him after getting ready for work, getting your earrings in and your mind preoccupied and before you know it, he's got his arm around your waist and his nose to your neck, sniffing deeply. He only manages a 'fuck honey" before tugging at the fabric to open your wrap dress and get you naked.

He is ALWAYS misjudging your stature and putting away items way too high on the shelf. Every day you find yourself teetering on your toes to reach the damn honey before you feel him breeze up behind you and grabbing it with ease, planting a kiss on your temple and mumbling 'sorry sweetheart" before handing you the honey.

The man simply loves a creampie. He loves to admire the fruits of his labor, savoring the way it dribbles out of you when he finishes. You cover your face in shame and he just says "nah, show me that pretty face sweetheart-- love the way you take me like that"

He's always got cash on him and is ready to hand over a a few $20s when it's time for your mani pedi and you never have any on hand to tip the technicians.
