Since the Zutara kids are called steambabies, I'm thinking of calling the Azulaang kids the nephalembabies

This is mostly because of the basis of Aang being portrayed as an angelic archetype and Azula as a demonic archetype.

This was done in varying ways, like the fan idea about Azula fusing with Vaatu, or that Ozai's secret/true identity is Vaatu himself and it's he who manipulated Sozin into waging the war.

I even imagined an AU where Aang is literally an angel who's the son of Raava, while Azula is a literal demon who's the daughter of Vaatu.

Even their default elements can be seen as symbolic, representing that of heaven and hell.

Air and Water were the easiest elements for Aang to learn, Azula is a fire prodigy and although she couldn't literally bend Earth, she was the most fixated on the Earth kingdom and was able to bend the Dai Li to her will, she might make a fine earthbender.

A nephalem is an angel/demon hybrid said to be stronger than both parent species.

Random Rathma idea?

Reborn Rathma in modern times is a interesting idea, I would love to explore how he would be like if he was reincarnated after being killed by Inarius in Diablo 4.

You could probably explore it in a one-shot or a multi-chapter fic, it would probably work as a slice-of -life, but psychology thriller would also be interesting.

This is a fun thought! Had to let it percolate for a minute though aha.

A modern-reincarnation AU could go a lot of different ways I feel.

What kind of modern setting are we talking? Like, 21st century but Secretly There's Magic? A uniquely Diablo modern times? Some combo of the two?

A Rathma 2.0 who grows up in a world of iphones and teleportation spells might not be too phased by finding out he's the reincarnated soul of the first nephalem. He might have a few questions about destiny and stuff, but be too busy falling down wikipedia rabbit holes to do anything about it.

If it's a less magically inclined world though...adjusting could be a little tricky.

Rathma is a pretty rational person, presumably even in teenage form he'd try to quietly work out what was going on with himself when suddenly dead people and the ghosts of memories start showing up. Ironically, I don't think he'd easily accept the reality of magic, and try to explain things away. Might try and self-diagnose himself with dementia before admitting that ghosts are real, and trying to talk to him.

I could also also see him going more the way of Mendeln in the early Sin Wars. The dead keep trying to talk to him? That's some spooky shit and he'd really rather they not? He has like two and a half essays due this week, unless these are the ghosts of Shakespeare and Anne Frank, he's not interested in anything they have to say.

And of course, as the memories start coming back in, and as it gets harder and harder to deny that magic and zombies are Real Things that he has to worry about...well, he has some pretty bad memories of a horned woman and fiery suit of armor. What's up with that?

There's the question of who the second parents would be. Perhaps one of those Inari and Lilin folks who showed up in Diablo Immortal? It would be nice and poetic.

Or maybe another angel/demon pair.

Or he catches a break and is born to nice, normal humans.

In either of these scenarios, I'm sure Lilith at least would be very interested in the reborn soul of her son on Sanctuary as well.

I have the biggest mental image of Classic Rathma squinting at an iphone now tho. Would he figure out how to use it on his own, or go Full Grandpa on it?

Gods. The more I get into this once self-indulgent au the more likely it is to become canon D:

I have two versions of this, tbh - one where Shaddox just stumbles his ass out of Hell cuz Micah's singing voice is understandably pretty and he follows it, aaand another which has that wonderful old fanfic favourite trope of "can't find a partner? Summon one via complicated magical ritual" as its base idea.

In both, it's well after the events of Little Note - the Twins exist and are grown up, Micah is at least in his forties to fifties (but thanks to 1st generation Nephalem genetics and lifespans, still looks like a twink). Shaddox escapes Hell, still thoroughly corrupted, one way or another.

i wanna make a sub au where its supernatural/holy entites mixed w dystopia (+ redesign my fallen angel oc designs)

inspired by ff7, horizon and probably a bunch of other games i forgot

mainly ff7, even tho i havent even played the game LMAO

but ive seen a few clips and i like the environment/graphics/vibes

so for now just think of a dystopian setting where the angels demons and allsorts exist

nothing too supernatural

probably conflict within society

the setting i think it has a junkyard type vibes

for fits they'd have more streetwear/cyberpunk (as in the game, not so much the modern full of belts) fits

knowing tetsuya nomura, designs might be on the more obscure side (if youve seen some of the kh designs you might(?) get a bit of the feel??)

i'd think abt a lot of leather, heavy duty jackets, worn out clothing, cargo pants, combat boots

and dark color schemes

as for lore

the world is kinda in a state of poverty (typical dystopian setting), humans hate the holy supernatural thinking they're the cause of their misery

its like the gods abandoned the humans

and humans think the supernaturals are so full of themselves

the supernaturals think humans are idiots for blaming their problems on them 

and basically theres tension/conflict between the two sides (not to mention between heaven and hell but even then, they're more on neutral terms than with humans ironically)

i think even supernaturals feel abandoned by gods in this world

theyre not necessarily holy

theyre questioning their own existence

demons dont care as much but angels are probably lost and just doing what they can”

Summary: Lee, being fed up with having to be an angel and her overly devoted angel family and their ways, ran away and ripped her wings off in the process. The escape process was a dangerously risky one, having been hunted down by the angels who refused to let her leave, resulting in her suffering heavy injuries as she collapsed after venturing as far away as possible. a nearby settlement [Liberty], alerted by the disturbance, finds the girl upon their investigation and brings her in. When Lee wakes up, she is only able to remember her name, but is nonetheless accepted refuge in their settlement. Basically, what happens throughout the story is that Lee learns to be human, slowly gets back her memories, and starts turning into a fallen angel.

Following after prelude with my nephalem oc introduction:

20 years has passed nephalem daugher become adult and new student at stanfort with major antropology (she not full ride like sam tho she not smart like that) but 1 year before real story actually she was have bad fight with clereance (castiel) her father, he wish she was school at indonesia (place where castiel and meg escape) but his daugher was pure rebel by heart so in the end castiel permit ratna (my oc name ratnasari angreanni) to applied to stanfort but castiel insist ratna when holiday come she must comeback to indonesia every year (for daily grace reduction to pervent ratna to reach her nephalem potential and hide ratna from heaven and hell,this is without ratna consent nor she knew she was not human she was half angel-half demon),ratna angree with that.

1 year after ratna attend stanfort army of demon come to her night class and demon possesed one class full of 70 student and 2 proffesor then attack ratna (and kill their meatsuit in proses), ratna who mad accidentally reach her full potential (because she was panic and scared) and accidentally killed 72 demon with her power (god word/absolut command) that event make great demon and angel omen one time near stanfort.

After that she crying and passed out and awake in lucifer cage, alone and spent 1 week (or 9 years cage time) in there before she sucsses escape before some demon kill her.

2 days after the incident, lucifer with fake name william kline (who human, hunter and new proffesor who in his 14 day of work) still try to hardest to solve the case, and he suspect the culprit was chuck and maybe he gonna say goodye to his dream job . Then when night pass dean visit lucifer and lucifer gets scared because the death was dean and he think death wanna collect his soul but no dean help to solve the case meanwhile he begged lucifer to save his son ben and ratna.

Lucifer burrowed his eyebrow,he still remeber ratna trying cheating use enochian laguage few days before inccident but from 73 victim (and killed demon) ,ratna mysteriously dissapear.

Dean explain what he heard from demon, who the kill demon was ratna herself with her nephalem ability then demon catch her and throwing her at lucifer cage.

Lucifer confused because what supernatural being ratna is, then dean explain she was nephalem and castiel daugher.

Kelly kline who heard that at next room come to dean and help her out in one heartbeat, then lucifer agree to help.

Few days after they prepared to down hell ,kline couple execute the plans they make to freeing ratna (for 20yrs lucifer and kelly kline married via traditional wedding and angel bound so kelly strong meanwhile for excange lucifer never age)

At down there is so hard and every demon in standby mode, make their plan so hard even with few hexbags dean teach lucifer to make.

But turn out why hell in standby mode because ratna success to broke lucifer cage and try escape earlier so kelly try to tracking her, when they found it lucifer who is now mere human can see ratna raven wing and her wing was beautiful and big,lucifer and kelly shout her name but alas she run away and then some demon stab her with some gregori sword who was washed with holy oil and prince of hell blood and die.

Kelly kline too late and can't save her but dean can, he will find ratna in empty, and ask them to preserve her body and help them to comeback to surface.

Meanwhile he bring his son ben who now tainted with mark of cain and become knight of hell.

So for preserve ratna body kelly heal her minor and stab wound and save her in one her pocket dimention.

In empty dean found empty pissed because they can put ratna sleep and instead she create empty become her home with projection of her parent, dean feel pity and pick her up and he promise to bring ratna to her parent or her brother and sister (claire novak and jack kline) but ratna first must be comeback to her body.

Then she wake up and need few month ti healing and she under lucifer and kelly care. Then she become hunter to seek redemption althought she not kill her friend, but she still think she is despite kelly tell her is not her fault and she almost drop out but lucifer prevent her and tell her to still continue and her new hunter extracurricular with ben.
