I will preface some content warnings now though as this is an organised crime au I will be talking about some upsetting topics 🙇🏽‍♀️

I made this au with my dear friend who commissioned me this piece. The organised crime au is set in a place where the houses are syndicates or businesses working in organised crime, with a few exceptions!

In leovil's case, Leona is in charge of Savannaclaw, which is a smaller branch of the entire Kingscholar syndicate. They do the typical dirty work of the monarch of that land — hits, organ dealing, and they basically rule the black market and the auctions that happen there. Whereas Vil leads Pomefiore who act as the watchdogs, closely working with Diasomnia who are like a secret police of sorts. Vil is very good friends with Silver in this au and he often accompanies him on missions! Either way Savannaclaw and Pomefiore are intertwined as both are hands used by those in power to control the underground — one to keep control over it and the other to keep it in check enough so that no syndicate has too much power.

Leovil ( as per usual ) have quite the complicated past. Vil was originally a rising star on the broadway equivalent of their world. He met Leona on set as one of his co-stars and tried to resist all his advances for like the good part of a year but come on it's Leona Kingscholar so they did really fall in love. They got engaged, and everything was going so so well until Vil was brought to an odd location to find Eric ( the original watchdog before him ) held hostage by the Kingscholars and then actually killed in front of him. It all comes to light to Vil then and there that Leona was in on and part of this plan. The Kingscholars were tired of submitting to some hand of power and wanted more freedom, wanted more, and the first step was to of course eliminate the one person stopping them from completely dominating the criminal underground and the rest of his group.

Vil doesn't remember much of what happened after that aside from when Leona was ordered to restrain him after his father was killed right in front of him he snapped. Killing Eric in front of him probably was some attempt at mindbreak, and it did that but had the opposite effect where Vil was consumed with rage and killed both of Leona's parents present. Falena had fled, and Vil left Leona half dead, leaving a scar on his eye with the dagger he tried to restrain him with.

Vil had never killed anyone before that. Vil knew self-defense, sure, but he'd never taken someone's life nor known that his father was the monarch's watchdog. So when he flees from the scene not only is he dealing with the reality that supposedly every bit of their love was a lie and his father's death, he's also dealing with the fact he has blood on his hands and without even asking for it was flung far and deep into a world that he never asked to be part of. But this is Vil, and Vil knows that he can cry, scream, complain all he wants but nobody can turn back time. So when Diasomnia later sought him out, he accepted their help and protection in exchange for whatever help he could provide himself. He announced early retirement from theatre and his career as an actor. He went from walking into rooms and having people swarm him with glee to walking into rooms and having people look at him with disdain.

Fast forward a good 7 years ( leovil are in their late 20s in the piece I drew ) and leona and vil have been occasionally crossing paths in the underground and by crossing paths I mean multiple homoerotic hate-filled encounters where they spit words at each other with their knives up to each others' throats and curse each others' names for everything they've ruined for each other. Vil though working with Diasomnia has the ultimate goal of bringing down the Kingscholars and killing Leona once and for all.

Vil thinks Leona has never had an ounce of love or care for him, and whatever they were, and has always hated him equally until one day Leona asks his help in killing Falena. Now when asked by your ex fiancé if you'll work directly alongside him after he made a fool out of you and literally ruined your life of course Vil didn't accept immediately and had every suspicion of him, but eventually he does because it would make his goal easier. So the two embark on that terrible journey. There's multiple arguments, multiple times where they definitely also kill each other, but there's also little moments of clarity. When it's just them in the office and Leona is asleep on his couch, or when they've come back from one of their missions and Leona so quickly comes to his aid at a sprained ankle despite claiming to care little for a "pretty face" at all. It's a lot of heartache of things that remind them too much of a ruined past, and for Vil a lot of confusion and just the question of "why?". If there was even an ounce of love in his heart why would he do this to him?

And the story goes from there!

I've talked extensively about Vil here haha as if this was a fic it would be told from Vil's point of view, but also my good friend is a far better person to ask in interpreting Leona. I also went on quite the ramble here so if anything is confusing or if you'd like to know more you're free to ask!

チャイムが鳴る直前に教室に滑り込み、ヴィルの右隣に着席した。ヴィルはレオナを見て、長い睫毛を瞬く。 「あら、珍しいわね」 「ラギーが出ろってうるせぇんだよ」 「呆れた。アンタあの子に単位の管理までさせてるの」 　絶対に口には出さないが、理由はそれだけではない。複数クラス合同で行われる実践魔法の授業。ヴィルがいるのなら出席してもいいと思った。 「……去年もやったな」 　しかし、聞き覚えのある内容に早速あくびが出る。「でしょうね、先輩」とヴィルに苦笑いされた。 　手本として見せられたのは、中身を交換する魔法だった。交換できるのは物体に限らない。教壇の上でネズミがぴょんと跳ね、カエルがチュウと鳴く。 　配られた二本の瓶には、それぞれ塩と胡椒が入っていた。これで試してみろということらしい。レオナは教科書を開くことすらせず、呪文を唱えるともにマジカルペンをひと振りする。一瞬瓶の中身が消え、すぐに塩の瓶には胡椒が、胡椒の瓶には塩が入った状態になった。ヴィルも、難なく塩と胡椒を入れ替えてみせた。 「わっ、バカ、何してるんだよ」 　ひとつ後ろの机が騒がしくなった。魔法に失敗し、中身をぶちまけたようだ。つんとした胡椒の匂いがあたりに漂う。人より嗅覚が敏感なレオナは、鼻をつまんで耐えるしかない。 　そのとき、ヴィルの左隣の生徒が、大きなくしゃみをした。ペンから飛び出したまばゆい光は狙いを外し、レオナとヴィルに向かう。 　レオナは咄嗟にヴィルの肩を抱き、光を避けようとした。匂いに気を取られていなければ、もっと早く反応できたのに。 　ひゅっ、と鋭い音が、耳元をかすめていった。 「ごめんなさい、だ、大丈夫！？」 　事故とはいえ、よりによって色々な意味で恐ろしい寮長ふたりに魔法を発してしまった生徒は、顔を真っ青にしている。 「ふざけんじゃねぇ」 　がるる、と喉を鳴らそうとして、うまくできなかった。代わりに、いつもより高い音域の声が出た。 「ありがとう、レオナ……？」 　異変に気付き、首を傾げたのはヴィルの筈なのに、目の前で、レオナ自身が首を傾げていた。 「避けられたと思ったけど、ダメだったのね」 　レオナとヴィルは、中身が入れ替わってしまった。 　事実を悟ったヴィルが、ふ、と諦めたように笑う。レオナは拳を握り締めた。生徒はとうとうがたがたと震え出した。 「テメェ、どう落とし前つけてくれるんだ」 「やめなさい！」 　振り上げた手をはっしと掴まれ、それ以上何もできなくなった。ヴィルの体も相当に鍛えられている筈だが、レオナの腕力には敵わない。我ながらやるな、と思った。 「殴ったらアタシの手が傷つくじゃない」 　そういうことか。素直すぎるヴィルの言い分に敵意を削がれ、レオナは拳を下ろすことにした。一刻も早く元の体に戻りたい。 　ところが、呪文が間違っていて、通常ならもう一度同じ魔法をかければ入れ替わりを直せるところ、時が経つのを待つしかないことが分かった。あの生徒、やはり殴っておくべきだった。 「勘弁してよ……」 「そっくりそのままお前に返すぜ」 　とにかく、明日までには戻るだろうという教師の見立てをよすがにするしかなかった。

　もともと出席する気のなかったその後の授業は、さすがに出席を免除された。日焼けをするな、体に傷を作るな、変な時間に寝るな、野蛮なふるまいをするな。あらゆることをヴィルに禁じられ、夕食後、手持ちぶさたになったレオナは、ヴィルの部屋を訪れた。 　ノックをしてからしばらくして、「入っていいわよ」とレオナの声で返事があった。ヴィルがする分にはなんとも思わないが、ヴィルの口調で自分が喋っているのはいたたまれない。 「……何やってんだ」 　華美な化粧とハイブランドの服を身に纏いポーズを決めた自分が、鏡の前に立っていた。 「ファッションショーよ」 　堂々とヴィルが答える。 「人の体をおもちゃにしてんじゃねぇ」 「顔とスタイルだけは最高ね、レオナ」 　ポーズを数秒ごとに変えるたび、ヴィルは鏡をうっとりと見つめた。レオナの話などまったく聞いていない。 　頭の中のほとんどを苛立ちが占めていたが、ヴィルが自分に見惚れていると思うと、ほんの少しだけ悪くないと思ってしまった。 　はたと我に返り、最悪だ、とレオナは頭を掻く。惚れた弱みだ。 　ヴィルはひと通りポーズを取ってから、着飾っていた服を制服に替えた。クローゼットに服を戻しながら、言う。 「来てくれて丁度良かったわ。後で呼びに行こうと思ってたの」 「俺は来たことを後悔してる」 「あのね、今日はここで寝てくれる？」 「はァ！？」 「だってアンタ、アタシのケアの仕方なんて知らないし、教えたところでやらないでしょう」 　図星でしかなかった。レオナが反論できなくなったのをいいことに、ヴィルはここに留まるべき理由をつらつらと並べ、「善は急げよ」とレオナを浴室に押しやった。 　魔法で一瞬にして湯を張ったバスタブに、ヴィルはオイルを垂らし、花びらを浮かべた。軽く手で揉むようにして、香りを広げる。王宮ならまだしも、寮生活ではシャワーだけで済ませているレオナは瞠目した。 「いつもこんなことしてんのか？」 「この花は保湿効果があるの。いつもより匂いが強く感じるわ。鼻がいいのね」 「臭くねぇか」 「ううん、良い匂い」 　レオナにとっては馴染みのない、甘ったるい匂いだ。 　いつの間に手にしていたのか、グラス一杯のミネラルウォーターを差し出された。飲み干せということらしい。喉は別に乾いていない。 「……やってられるか」 　立ち去ろうとしたものの、「やってくれなきゃ困る」と有無を言わせぬ力で引き戻された。無茶をすればこの場を逃れることができそうだが、ふたりとも無傷では済まなさそうで、気が引けた。 　とうとう、レオナは諦めた。 　言われるがまま水を飲み、シャツとインナーを脱ぐ。 「何をのんびりしてるの」 「気にすんだろ、さすがに」 　仕方のない状況であるといえど、他人に裸体を見られることに抵抗はないのだろうか。それに、ヴィルの体を好き勝手しているような気がして後ろめたい。 　みなまで言わずともレオナの躊躇いを悟ったヴィルは、にっこりと微笑んだ。 「いいのよ、気を遣って何もせずに寝られる方がよっぽど嫌だわ」 「……あー、そうかよ」 　美への執念の前では、遠慮は無用だと思い知る。 　レオナは潔くすべてを脱ぎ捨て、バスタブに入った。湯が溢れ、床を濡らす。 　ヴィルは手のひらで石鹸をよく泡立て、できた泡をレオナの両手に移した。 「顔を洗って」 　普段のやり方で顔を擦ると、きつい口調で咎められた。 「そんなに強くしないで」 「汚れが落ちりゃいいだろ」 　引き続き、ごしごしと擦る。ヴィルは小さく悲鳴をあげた。 「信じられない！もういい、アタシがやる！」 「勝手にしろ」 　顔を湯に沈め、泡を洗い流した。背をバスタブに預け、脱力する。 「その姿勢にも物申したいところだけど、まあいいわ」 　聞いたところで覚えられない名前の、様々な粘度と香りの液体を、次々と顔や体に塗られた。せっせと誰かに奉仕している自分の姿を見ていられず、レオナは目を瞑る。そうすると、優しく丁寧な手つきを、不思議と心地よく感じた。 　だんだんと眠くなってくる。温かい湯の中で、輪郭が曖昧になる。体がゆっくりと溶けていく。そんな錯覚をした瞬間、瞼の裏が真っ白になった。 　気が付けば、すぐそばにヴィルの顔があった。さっきまで見上げていた自分の顔ではない。薬指には、ふっくらとした唇の感触がある。さっきまでバームをヴィルに塗られていた筈が、レオナがヴィルにバームを塗っている。 　ほんの数センチ近づけば、口接けできる。ぼんやりとした頭がまともに働くよりも先に、体がその考えに従った。 　ふと、ヴィルが目を開けた。睫毛がぶつかりそうな至近距離で目が合う。 　大きな水飛沫があがった。ヴィルが体を捩ったからだった。反射的に、レオナも後ろに下がる。それでも飛沫はレオナの上半身をしとどに濡らした。 「戻った……！？」 　ようやく状況が飲み込めたふたりの声が重なる。入れ替わりの魔法の効力が切れ、レオナもヴィルも、無事に自分の体を取り戻していた。 「思ったより早かったな」 「そうね、よかったわ」 　どちらからともなく、安堵の息が洩れる。 「ところでレオナ、さっきの……」 「さっき？」 「……なんでもない」 　言うやいなや、ヴィルの頬が真っ赤に染まった。 「本当に、なんでもないの」 　ヴィルはレオナから、ふいと顔を背ける。レオナは先ほど自分がヴィルにしようとしたことを思い出した。たちまちに、体中の熱が顔に集中する。心臓が大きく跳ねる。 　火照った頭では十分な言い訳を捻り出すことができなかった。らしくなく、レオナは口を開いては閉じるのをくり返す。 「もう行って」 　不本意だが、逃げるように浴室を飛び出した。 「……クソ」 　せめて濡れた服を乾かしてから寮に戻ろうかと思ったが、ヴィルの部屋に長居できそうにない。数時間ぶりに自分の体を使っているせいなの��、嗅覚がいつもより敏感で、部屋のそこかしこにあるヴィルの匂いを拾ってしまう。薬指に残った唇の感触が、余計にレオナを苛むのだった。

hello!! is there any way that there are groups here in fandoms that share contents about character x character? as of now i dunno know and i am unfamiliar with how fandoms navigate. is there a hashtag guide? sorry for asking here you’re the only blog i know about twisted wonderland 😅

Generally, the international fandom prefers self-ships and x readers to canon x canon characters, but there are writers out there who are open to writing about it. I know @raven-at-the-writing-desk is open about it. I myself am planning to write a few character x character fics myself in my writing blog. but I barely have time to write in general. 🥲

Your best bet for finding character x character content is on Twitter and Pixiv, especially the JP side of the fandom. There are many artists who dedicate themselves to one ship or two. I would make a list, but the ones I know are either JayAzu, FloAzu, IdoAzu, AzuJami, or IdiAzu shippers, and that’s going to be a pretty long list already. This is your best bet to getting the good art because these artists may not only create these artworks, if they’re on Twitter, they’re also going to be retweeting artworks of the same ship. On Pixiv, you may be recommended similar artworks.

Your next best bet is ship names. They are often tagged with the ship name or have the ship name in their captions to make for easy search. I’ll also put in the English names since some people in the international community tag their ships with it.

Take note! JP has a system on ship names. If the name of one character is the first one, they’re the ‘dominant one’ in the relationship. This will help you with searching, as well as finding your preferences. This means that if you want the other character to be the dom, just switch the order of their names in the ship name (take IdiAzu for example (Idia x Azul), if you want dom Azul art, the ship name would be AzuIdi).

Here’s a list of the canon x canon ships that I’m aware of:

トレリド — TreyRid/TreyRiddle (I believe TreyRid is more common)

トレケイ — TreyCay

トレジェイ — TreyJade

エスデュ — Adeuce

デュエス — DeuAce (sending this one too since it may be just as popular but I’m not sure)

レオラギ — LeoRagi/LeoRuggie (more luck with the first spelling)

It’s Ragi because that’s the romanized spelling of Ruggie’s name.

レオヴィル — LeoVil

ジャクエぺ — JackEpel

ジャクセべ — JackSebek

ジャクデュ — JackDeuce

On a note for all three, these might not be common ships. I know that JackDeuce is sort of a rare pair, probably JackSebek too. You may have to find the right artists.

ジャクヴィル — JackVil

ヴィルジャク — VilJack

It’s not as common as JackVil, but apparently, there is content of it that you can find.

ジェアズ — JayAz/JayAzu (more commonly the first, but can’t hurt to try the second)

フロアズ — FloAz/FloAzu

As someone who frequently retweets Octa art, I will add a note that you will have better luck finding AzuFlo (アズフロ) than AzuJay (アズジェ).

This is the ship name between Azul and the twins. It’s “Ido” because Jade’s and Floyd’s names in the romanized Japanese are Jeido and Furoido, which both end in ‘ido’. As a note, this does not include tweelcest and it’s only centered on the twins’ love towards Azul and vice versa.

アズジァミ — AzuJami

As a note, I’m admittedly unsure if ジァミアズ (JamiAzu) is as popular, but I have seen people use it! It might be as popular, but I’m not sure.

ジァミカリ — JamiKali

カリジァミ — KaliJami (adding this since I believe this is also a semi popular dynamic)

ジャミイデ — JamiIdi

イデジャミ — IdiJami

ヴィルエぺ — VilEpel

エぺヴィル — EpelVil

As a note, if you try searching for アズイデ (AzuIdi), you won’t have as much content, but there are people who do use this tag. 

I believe this is the more common name than ジャミイデ (JamiIdi)

マレケイ — MalleKei

This is the ship name for Malleus x Cater. It’s “kei” because in Japanese, Cater’s name is spelled as keito.
