Er, y'know animal jam? The furry economy game? Yeah, I have an AU for it! :D
Info under cut! :) Long read btw :P
Mira's Child
I've been trying to come up with a name for years help i just started using this name recently I've been working on this story for at least 8 years, since I first started playing AJ. And it didn't even have a plot back then? It was just "emo wolf has powers his older brother hates him and he also has powers so emo wolf is abandoned and now lives with phantoms ALSO HE'S THE SON OF GREELY BC GREELY IS EVERYTHING"
Anyways, here's the new version: Zios is bad here btw. Sorry! Anyways, Mira is trapped in this magic river. By, you guessed it, Zios! They basically fought over the land and Zios trapped her in the river so he could have it. Other then that, they have no connection. They were just two beings fighting over Jamaa. Zios, being lonely, brings the animals, who were living in different areas dedicated to their species, and welcomes them to Jamaa. Mira, slowly dying, wants to pass on her powers to someone. Welcome Void, a young pitch black wolf who accidently stumbles upon the river. She teaches him her powers and how to use it incase of an emergency. Sharing her powers with him, she and him become friends. Then the war between the animals happen and Void is called to battle for the wolves. Mira wishes him luck. The war is almost over, with only a few species left standing. The rabbits, the monkeys, and the wolves. And then, Void is slaughtered brutely. Part of Mira's powers die with him and she is weakened further, also saddened by her friend's death. A few more years pass and more jammers are picked. A rabbit, a panda, anyone who happens to find the river. But Mira doesn't trust any of them as she realizes they would be consumed by power and would have ill intensions. And then the battle between the Phantoms and Jamaa happens, a few of the animal species reuniting. They fight over the land and Zios picks 6 animals, the Alphas, to help fight. A wolf named Greely is one of these chosen animals. Meanwhile, his sister, Minnie, is jealous and practices her fighting alone in the forest, accidently finding the river and Mira. Mira sees good in her and tries again to pass on her power. Minnie, however, is too weak to control the power and causes more harm then good. She feels awful and apologizes to Mira before letting Mira take her power back and Minnie runs away. And no one is picked as the next 'Mira's Child' again for a few years. Until Greely has kids. Two twins, Dash and Dare, a daughter named DJ, and his youngest, Junior. Having powers is rare and usually only descendents of power-wielding jammers have power. Dash and Junior have powers but Junior's is more powerful and Dash gets jealous. This leds to him bullying his youngest brother. One day, the siblings are playing in the woods and Junior finds the river. Mira's glad to see him and tries to make him come closer but Junior is hesitant. He goes closer and soon is able to connect to Mira. She tells him how she needs her help but him being just a pup, is confused at first. So she tells him to come back so she can explain more later. And he does the next day. And the day after that. And the day after that. But she doesn't give him her power yet.
As time passes, the Phantoms attack their hometown. Dash hides Junior somewhere, telling him he'd be safe but only for him to abandon Junior while he escapes, their mother desperate to find her son but failing. And like that, Junior is taken by the Phantoms. In this AU, the phantoms aren't that bad. They kinda are but kinda aren't. Anyways, feeling bad for Junior, they welcome him. And he now lives with them. That's basically the beginning of the story for now. I'ma end it here for now. Uh, hope that was somewhat understandable.

For the romance asks, 1, 5, 7, and/or 11! For astala and our favorite crow, of course. 😁
Helloooooo ^^ Always happy to talk about Astala and our favorite (favoritest) Crow.
1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?
For Zevran, initially, it was the fact that he could ask Astala for things and receive them, no manipulation required, no strings attached. He started asking for ridiculously small things: some salt to add at least a bit of flavor to his food, ingredients for a more exotic poison, stuff like that. When he sees that that's okay, he gets bolder and asks for bigger stuff, until the requests get pretty personal all on their own: a day off so he might take care of something; some company when he's feeling lonely; some help with a wound. Things like that. Every time he asks for something he's half expecting the "yes, but", but it never comes. At first it frightens him, because he doesn't know what to expect, and then it intrigues him and he makes it his personal mission to find the limit of what Astala will give him.
For Astala meanwhile, it's obviously his personality, his charm and his looks, but also the fact that he doesn't expect anything from her. It's extremely refreshing when everybody else seems to expect something from her. It's also extremely disarming because he has no stake in this adventure (other than keeping safe from the Crows) and yet he follows everywhere, through the most harebrained plans, and into the most dangerous situations. This is why she regards him as the bravest person she's ever known, because no matter what she does, Zevran is right there with her.
5. How do they comfort each other when they are sad?
When Astala is sad, Zevran knows to keep her company. Sometimes he tells her funny stories and jokes around to cheer her up, sometimes they talk over whatever is making her sad, other times he keeps quiet because silence is what's needed at the moment. If they are apart, his letters become much longer and he tries his best to write things that will cheer her up.
When Zevran is sad, Astala makes sure he knows she loves him. This can take many forms: a kiss to the temple, some quiet company, a love letter, some food stuff that he's particularly fond of... If they are far apart and he's sad, well, she often finds it difficult to write down the right words. But she puts extra details in her letters, goes so far as to try and include drawings (which she's not that good at) or send something nice and lightweight.
7. Favorite date activity?
Hunting darkspawn brings up such fond memories XD XD XD
Jokes aside, they like to go out and explore. Visit some place they haven't seen before or don't know well, mingle with the people, try and guess where assassinations might've taken place and what kinds of secrets the butcher around the corner might be hiding. They have had dates on rooftops and on an aqueduct once, as a result. They do the same thing when they're in the company of nobles, either at the Landsmeet or at a good old regular get-together of the local aristocracy. They try to suss out secrets and judge everybody's sense of fashion just for the fun of it. And most times, they end up having a nice dinner somewhere small and private afterwards
11. Do they have any inside jokes?
Technically? Oh yes! Have I come up with them? No, not yet ^^’ Apart from this one! As of today, because of @wild-houseplant s absolutely lovely snippet (WHICH I’M STILL SCREAMING INTERNALLY ABOUT) they will, whenever a mild inconvenience disturbs their blissful marital life, blame it on the fact that Shianni made them see each other before their wedding. Everybody knows it’s bad luck, Shianni!
---
Thank you very much for the asks ^^ Sorry for the delay, I also still have your word prompts, which I haven't forgotten, promise. I hope you're having a great day and you enjoyed these!! Se you around ^^

request: SWIMSUIT SHOPPING WITH JJK CHARACTERS — (yuuji, megumi, and gojo satoru ver!)
notes: i’ve reached a point in hell of no return, help 😩 anon knows exactly what she’s talking about and i’d be more than honoured to add on to this concept
warnings: nsfw content such as public sex, overstimulation, degradation, manhandling, oral sex (f and m receiving), road head, and slight cumplay (nsfw under the cut!) + this is unedited/not proofread,
(all minor characters are aged up)
masterlist ! requests are open
Tumblr media
ITADORI YUUJI
he’s a pretty innocent boy
in a way that he’s not always dirty minded instead of him totally being...well, inexperienced
so when you ask him if he can come with you pick a swimsuit, he happily agrees
he loves going shopping with you and is extremely patient even if you take half an hour in just one shop
he’d happily carry your bags for you
seriously, this man is so low maintenance, he’s not going to ask for anything else or whine that you’re taking too long or that he’s hungry
he’s REALLY really patient and supportive of you
and even though he’s not an expert in women’s fashion, he’ll honestly give his opinions if he thinks a dress or shoe looks good on you or no
he might also remind you just how convenient your outfit would be on the event you plan to use it t
but this time, it’s a different case because you’re buying a swimsuit
now, yuuji’s seen you naked before so it’s nothing new to him anymore, but the moment he walks inside the swimsuit shop with all types of frilly bras and colorful pieces, he’ll immediately duck his head down in respect
he’s pretty fidgety the whole time
if you bring up a certain red polka dot bikini in front of your clothed body, tilting your head to the side innocently to ask, “how about this?”
yuuji’s brain will fry right then and there
he can imagine just how great you’d look in it, but he doesn’t want to be rude or too obvious so he’ll just nod and go,
“yeah, babe, that’d look great on you!”
he’s pretty silent the whole time, but really, all the blood’s rushed to his cock already
the whole drive back, yuuji is already so sensitive and clenching his jaw with his hands firmly gripping the steering wheel while you sit next to him, hiding your smirk
you almost want to laugh at how flustered he is, but he’s trying his best not to show it
but you’re not that bad, and so you ask him to pull over because the tent in his pants looks so uncomfortable and you doubt he’ll be patient enough to jack off in the bathroom when you both go back home
he’s confused at first, glancing over you with worry
“why, what’s wrong? did you want to go somewhere else?”
“no,” you laugh, pushing your hair back into a makeshift ponytail
and THAT has yuuji driving recklessly and swerving real fast and furious style because he knows what’s about to happen next
despite his eagerness, he’s still concerned about you, breathing heavily as you lean over your seats and start to unzip his pants
“a-are you sure about this? you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to,”
poor baby is already shaking the moment your nails rake over his thigh, your breath just ghosting over his clothed erection which is already damp with pre-cum
this makes you hum in agreement because yes of course you’re sure
you had a feeling yuuji would be turned on with this little escapade anyway, but you didn’t think he’d be this needy already
now it’s time for you to relax your throat and prepare yourself because yuuji is THICK
safe to say, all your arrogance is gone the moment you choke on his length, his big hands helping you keep the hair away from your face
meanwhile, yuuji is messily thrusting his hips up to your mouth, enjoying the way you just feel so warm around him
“f-fuck, baby, feels so good. i can imagine you already in that flimsy material, you’d be so pe-perfect, fuuckk.”
your chest swells with pride, always having been weak when it comes to his praising
once he reaches his high and paints your face white, yuuji lazily pulls you closer to him to kiss you, moaning when he tastes himself on your lips
you only giggle at how romantic he is even when your hands are still stroking his softening cock, and yuuji shudders a bit at the gesture
because he’s been such a great and supportive boyfriend today, you swipe at the cum near your lips, which makes yuuji’s eyes darken when you collect it with the tip of your tongue
then, as innocently as you could bat your eyelashes at him, you grin,
“would you like to see me wear it tonight? just for you?”
Tumblr media
FUSHIGURO MEGUMI
PLEASE HELP THIS BOY
“gumi, can you come shopping with me tonight? there’s a pool party this weekend with my friends and i need a new swimsuit.”
he wants to say yes because duh
but he also wants to say no because he’d rather not walk around in public with a raging erection
and we all know megumi is big, like come on, he’s toji’s son
like yuuji, i don’t think megumi is that perverted either, but he’s still a teenage boy with raging hormones
he may have more control over himself than yuuji, but he knows his limits
a swimsuit is honestly so innocent — it’s not even half as tempting as when you surprised him with a white lingerie set (which resulted you two in not getting out of bed the whole weekend lmao) so he wonders why the hell he’s so nervous
eventually he convinces himself that going with your girlfriend while she shops for a swimsuit isn’t anything new and it’s just a “normal couple thing” so bedgrudingly, he sighs and agrees
which he immediately regrets the moment you head straight for the skirtinis
there’s so much to choose from, and his eyes widen at the absurdity of how there’s so many designs and patterns
i feel leki megumi is a cheapskate, so he’ll be more focused first on criticizing the price tags before looking at you
“25 dollars for this...thing?”
he’ll shake his head in disapproval, but then straighten up when he sees you frown
“i think it looks cute. don’t you like it?”
you push up a frilly pink skirtini, the shade a soft pastel one that just looks so innocent and cute on you
it doesn’t help that you’re gazing up at him under your lashes either, a small pout on those kissable lips
he admits it does look cute, even cuter because you’re the one wearing it, but he still doesn’t like the price lmao
or at least...not until he’s seen you wearing it
once you’ve both gotten home, megumi heads straight to the kitchen because he’s been so parched (he won’t tell you that he’s been subconsciously swallowing his saliva the whole time, showing him material by material until it all gets suspiciously thinner and more revealing)
he doesn’t like limiting you or telling you what to wear, either, so he just follows you like a lost puppy, careful to note stare too much at anything to not make anyone uncomfortable
but then he goes back to your shared room, just about ready to call it a day since you sure did take your sweet time, and he sees you strutting in your underwear in front of the mirror
megumi freezes at the door like a lagging npc LMAO
“...y/n?”
you smile, turning to him as if he hadn’t just caught you checking yourself out, which he doesn’t blame you for because you look absolutely stunning in it
the skirt just hides the supple flesh of your thighs, but really, he’s more stunned at how your ass looks so perky in that skintight material
megumi looks away, flushed, running a hand through his hair because he’s too much of a gentleman to outright say he finds you so sexy in fear it would sound weird
but you take his sudden aversion something else, and you wrap your arms around yourself a little consciously, voice turning small
“does it look bad on me?”
he immediately picks up on how small you’ve made yourself, his eyes snapping to yours
“no, you look amazing! why would you think that?”
you pout, “you suddenly looked away. it felt like you don’t really like it.”
at this point, megumi is such a blushing, stuttering mess, approaching you carefully with his words stll stumbling over one another
“that’s not true,” he sighs, rubbing his hands on your bare arms, finally letting himself loose and shamelessly staring at how your breasts are just right under him, waiting to be touched
the tension in the room begins to thicken, and you shiver when his hands trail down your hip before squeezing the flesh almost possessively
“beautiful,” he’d murmur almost absentmindedly, and by the time you’re practically melting in the heat of his gaze, megumi just goes ‘fuck it’ and straight out kisses you
he’s gentle though
he knows you felt insecure and so he wants to take his time with you, touching you in places he knows you liked, curling his fingers in just the right spot that has you seeing stars
he doesn’t do anything that would make your body shake, but it still feels good — a lot more like lovemaking
and it is
he wants you to know he loves you and that you’re the most beautiful being ever in his eyes
megumi will kiss you starting from your calves and up to your belly, where he hovers for a minute before changing his mind and diving back down to where you want him the most
small, kitten licks in your core that has you dripping in his tongue, your hands fisting his hair
megumi doesn’t stop telling you how pretty you look just like that, loosing yourself in the pleasure he’s giving you
he doesn’t neglect your breasts; one of his hands reaching up to softly pinch the beaded nipples which has you riding and humping his face even more
megumi buries his face in your heat in that moment, his nose bumping your clit every now and then, and you feel so beautiful with how he can’t seem to get enough of you
he knows this just by the way you clamp down on his tongue, sweet juices coating his lips and he drinks it all like a starved man
“cum for me, sweet girl,” he coaxes, his thumb pushing your lips open as he watches you come undone for him
“that’s right — fuck — you’re so gorgeous, so perfect, just mine.”
and just when you think he’s had enough, megumi only flips you until your core is right on top of his face, his large hands merciless as he pushes your hips forward and backward on his tongue
similar to before, you and megumi stay in bed all day long with him going round per round, never getting tired of making you feel good until you’re just laying spent on your bed, juices flowing out of your abused core
you push megumi away when his fingers slide in your inner thigh
but no he’s not quite done with you yet
“no,” he growls softly, pushing your hands away and pinning you under his weight. “i’m not stopping until you finally see yourself the way i see you. so divine, so ethereal.”
your body is something he’ll never get tired of worshipping
you’re hella tired
but hey who are you to complain
you only wish megumi hadn’t ruined your swimsuit with your cum, but after a promise that he’ll jsut get you another one, you lose yourself to another mind blowing orgasm
Tumblr media
GOJO SATORU
let’s be real here
you know EXACTLY what you’re asking for the moment you dragged him into a swimsuit shop
you don’t even bother asking him if he wants to go anymore because gojo being gojo, he’ll be whiny about it, saying you could just surprise him the moment you get home
to which you roll your eyes and say, “this isn’t for you, gojo.”
hah, but anything that is yours is his, and your body is definitely his
gojo is nothing but bored
he wants to go home already and just fuck you already, and he’s getting on your nerves so you threaten that you’re not letting him touch you for a whole week if he doesn’t shut up and accompany you for once
it’s not that gojo is mean and unsupportive of you, he’s just so horny in that moment he can’t think straight
but he also really, really likes touching you so the big man just pouts and crosses his arms
sighing loudly and rather dramatically
it only takes a few seconds before gojo straightens up, peeking under his blindfold when you pick up a plain black bikini with the top knotted behind your neck
it’s not really your style though, so you’re about to move to another design when gojo whines
“wait, why not that one? it would look great on you.”
ofc you know i’ll look great on you, but it’s not your favorite, and it’s fun to tease gojo so you shrug nonchalantly, picking up a dark blue legsuit instead
gojo absolutely LOSES it
man takes off his blindfold just to glare at the material as if it offended him
“babe, what the fuck is that?”
“it’s a legsuit, perfect for scuba diving. plus, it protects my skin from the sun. i wouldn’t want a sunburn.”
the way gojo laughs is so cocky you consider choking him with the suit
“that’s what you have me for?” he points to himself incredulously, “i’ll put the sunblock all over your body babe, you don’t even have to worry about that.”
“please. i’d already be stripped down to my birthday suit before you even get to open the bottle,” you scoff, muttering under your breath, “damn fucking horny guy can’t keep his thing inside his pants.”
however, this doesn’t faze gojo
“and what’s so wrong with finding my girlfriend so sexy and hot i want to fuck her all the time?”
honestly what the hell were you thinking, assuming that you’d one-up gojo when this man would always be superior when it comes to being dirty LMAO he is just so shameless
but whatever, you ignore him, heading to the checkout with a self-assured smile
gojo trails behind you, his anger radiating off of him so strongly you can feel it
“y/n.”
“y/n, you can’t even swim. don’t fuck with me and say you’re buying that to ‘scuba dive.’”
“what, so i can’t learn now?”
“just buy the black bikini. it looks great on you.”
“i told you already, i’m not buying that and wearing it for you. i only dragged you here because i need someone to carry my bags.”
you know what happens to brats?
they get punished.
and that’s exactly what happens
gojo grabs your wrist rather roughly back to where you’ve left the black bikini, and not only does he shove it to your chest, commanding you to wear it, but he also shoves you in the nearest dressing cubicle
next thing you know, gojo has his palm over your mouth as he pounds into you from behind, absolutely railing you to the point tears are flowing down your cheeks
“look at you — not so bratty now, are we? you’re just a slut for my cock, aren’t you, sweet girl?”
gojo lifts one of your legs up in the crook of his arm, forcing you to look at the way your pussy greedily sucks him in in front of the mirror
you’re so wet that the squelching of your pussy, along with the slapping of skin, resonates in the cramped space
you reach behind gojo and move away from his hand, gasping breathily while your breasts bounce
“gojo, ah, shit — we might get caught.”
“do i look like i give a fuck, baby?”
no, he doesn’t. and he proves this by pushing you down by the back until your cheek is squished against the mirror, your ass pressed against his pubic bone
with the way gojo’s hips are angled and his long cock is hitting places only he can reach, you no longer care about people finding you in this position
your mouth is open, eyes rolling at the back of your head and drool even begins to slide from your lips
this makes gojo laugh, two of his fingers rubbing against where you two are connected to gather your wetness before shoving it into your mouth
“shut the fuck up, you slut.”
gojo’s large hands then comes up to grab and squeeze your hips roughly; you think he’ll leave bruises there or marks in the shape of fingers
he’s basically using you as his fucktoy now, paying no mind to how you’re crying from how he’s hitting in so deep and fast
your body just transcends into a different dimension
you’re fucked out, crying and begging for him to go slower
“gojo — baby — p-please, a little more gentle, ah, fuck.”
“what was that?” he teases, bending forwards to nip at your ear. the sudden shift in angles has the tip of his cock kissing your cervix, and you immediately clench around his cock.
gojo taps your lips when your eyes shut close from the exhaustion, barely able to comprehend anything else other than the familiar coil deep in your belly
“i couldn’t hear you, princess. speak louder.”
“slower, please,” you beg, placing your sweaty palms flat on the mirror in an attempt to hold onto something. “too much, satoru, t’much.”
poor you, his baby looks so tired and fucked out
with a sarcastic sigh, he kisses the pads of your shoulders, then bites the knot of your black bikini until the material falls to the ground
your breasts are now free from its confines, and his rough hands reach to fondle them
you expect him to grip it possessively like how he always does, but instead, he massages them with tender care, whispering sweet nothings in your ear
one of his hands reach over to where your hands are, looping it through your fingers while his thrust slows down
he forms a tantalizing pace of hitting deep before pulling out in a such slow, torturous fashion then slamming back in until he bottoms out in one thrust
it’s dirty, lewd, and still very much wrong — but it feels so right and it’s rare that gojo ever listens to you so you find it romantic
gojo isn’t the least bit apologetic when you’re both kicked out from the shop
because in the end, he won, and he holds your shopping bag with the cum-stained black bikini proudly all the way back to his car

Some team (idk) makes a threat to Emmet about taking Sningo by force! This is before is public knowledge that the sneasel is Ingo. Some Rangers step up and offer to take Sningo somewhere to protect him they assure Emmet they can do a better job then he could. Emmet refuses. He is a subway boss. He is strong. And he does not wish to separate from his brother again. Ingo fully agrees with Emmet. He would rather risk it than be taking from Emmet.
Doing a read more cause idk it got like a bit longer than i liked. It wasnt even a prompt i just couldnt move on till the idea was gone from my brain. Which is how this blog came to be in the first place. Very fitting
Then theres a scare. The team make an attack against the subway boss and its only a fluke that sningo wasnt taken. Emmet was helpless to stop it. They just got lucky and he knows it. Now Emmet is really thinking about taking the Rangers up on that offer. Is his pride worth his brother getting hurt?? No its not. He calls the rangers to ask for help.
Ingo still does not wish to leave Emmets side. They are a two car train after all. A pair that should never be separated!! Sure hes worried about getting taken by this team but staying by Emmets side is much more important to him. Emmet has no idea what it was like for Ingo in hisui. And Ingo never wants to be in that situation again!
The Rangers show up and Ingo is not having it. It isnt until Emmet softly pleads with Ingo to go with them. Its just until we can catch them. Then you can come back home! Its safer this way please Ingo. But Ingo really doesnt wanna. He probably isn convinced until Emmet like mini snaps at him “I DONT WANT YOU TO GET HURT AGAIN!” Or something like “IM NOT STRONG ENOUGH! I cant.. i cant keep you safe here so please just go with them.” Ingo can see how much this is hurting Emmet to do and he at least knows Emmet wont be able to sleep if Ingo stays so he goes. It’s heartbreaking for the rangers to watch tbh. Im picturing that air bud movie there the kid is like sobbing or something over the dog. Elesa is there and just the moment they walk out the door with Ingo (in a carrier im gonna add) Emmet just sobs into her shoulder.
This was verrrry hard for him but its the right choice. She is reassuring him. Now with him at his weakest she leads him to his bed and gets him to get some sleep. The moment hes up and walks into his kitchen he can see her sitting at the table surrounded by papers. They arent going to wait around for the cops to catch these guys. And Emmet can tell his bad habit has bled to her. She even got the red yarn out. Hes so proud.
Ingo meanwhile is having a ruff time (haha borkbork) Emmet informed the Rangers that the Sneasel is Ingo his human brother. They at least they are treating him like a person. The carrier was just a formality after all. The moment they got into the car he was promptly let out. Of course hes sulking. He misses his brother already. Also how could Emmet send him away. They should have solved this together. Arent they a team. Of course Ingo only has like an hour to be mad before his separation anxiety kicks in. And the Rangers bless them are trying but Ingos got a lot of problems (mental mostly) that they arent really equipped to deal with. The nightmares for starters really got them off guard.
This could also go where Emmet doesnt trust the Rangers so he doesnt tell them that the sneasel is Ingo. Now Ingo has to spend however long with people treating him like a pokemon. Really takes a hit to the mans self esteem. Its probably very tiring for Ingo. Plus hes sper depressed that Emmet sent him off so hes just not having a good time either way. Probably sleeps a lot while with them. Of course they try to give him exorcise which is just making it worse. Ingo hardly eats and just finds a place to hide and sleep. The Rangers assume its because well the truth. Because he misses his trainer. Which is pretty damn close. Its just his brother and he feels betrayed. Everytime one of them try to cheer him up they can tell this sneasel is humouring them. Its kinda off putting how humanlike this sneasel is probably. I imagine they are all trying different things that get their pokemon perked up. But since Ingo is human its just making him feel lower and lower. The only one who gets its is a Rangers who treats him like they would their SO or something. Finally human comforts and Ingo finally calms down enough to eat or something.
Idk. Its four forty in the morning and im in the shower. Also Emmet gets hurt a little but he totally kicked some (insert team name here) butt! The police congratulated him and Elesa for it and everything! Of course when Ingo gets back hes finally comfortable enough to be mad at Emmet again. Emmet doesnt understand why Ingos mad at him? Look at what i did for you!! It was all for you!!! It takes Elesa to point out that Emmet didnt even give Ingo a choice in staying or going. He just decided. And abandon his boy while at it. Ingo feels betrayed about it. Till Emmet apologises and opens up about how afraid he was about Ingo getting hurt worse. And losing Ingo permanently. Ingo cant stay mad at that. Emmet promises to never take Ingos choice away again! Which he has some close calls but Ingo has a way to remind him brother.

dark hallways and potions | marauders x platonic!reader
summary | Moony, Padfoot and Prongs find their best friend sneaking through the abandoned corridors of Hogwarts at night.
pairings | marauders x platonic!reader, slightly Sirius Black x fem!reader
warnings | it's actually total fluff, but mentions of wounds and bruises, domestic abuse and a little self destruction aaand English isn't my first language as you may have already noticed so I'm sorry for my lame ass writing and every mistake I did (maybe you'll find the name Alanis somewhere instead of y/n because I always write those fics with my name first, I'm sorry if so)
word count | 1910
...
It was far after midnight as the not so tired Sirius Black gave up and opened his gloomy eyes in a deep sigh. He couldn't make it to sleep; nightmares keeping him up, that caused him to turn left and right, desperately trying to find a good sleeping position to make him feel comfy. But all of his attempts didn't work.
So the black haired boy looked around. The moon was gently shining onto his covers, while soft snores came from his three friends. The loudest noise was definitely caused by James, not that it surprised Sirius. Still, the young boy kept quiet, not wanting to wake up Remus, who just had had a rough night.
Sirius started to get bored and glanced at his bedside table. Only two things had managed it onto the table; his squiggly wand and the infamous Marauder's Map. Shortly after, Sirius mumbled a 'Lumos' and illuminated the dorm a little. The spell followed another one, including some of his favourite words: 'I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good' and the Map showed him whole Hogwarts.
With curious eyes the boy watched every step of every person awake, until he stopped at a very certain name. y/n y/l/n. His y/h/c haired best friend was wandering through the abandoned corridors, well aware of the consequences she had to face if she got caught. She moved towards the Tapestry Corridor, near the Dungeons, where the potion storeroom was located.
What the bloody hell was the infuriating girl up to again? And why would she need some potion ingredients? Sirius had no clue. He felt like he didn't have a choice other than waking up James, which is what he simply did.
"Prongs! Prongs!", he screamed in a whisper, making his good looking friend mumbling and turning to the other side of the bed.
"For fuck's sake, wake up, you lad!"
"What is it, Sirius?", James replied in a screaming whisper, too. He didn't sound amused or happy to be woken around 2AM.
"Looks like Mane is doing some mischief without us, can you imagine?", Sirius shortly explained, which caught James' attention.
"Ugh, not again...", the brunette sighed.
"Well, I think we should check on her, now!", Padfoot proposed, earning a brief nod from his best friend.
"'Right...", James said and got up. Both of the Marauder's quickly dressed and grabbed their wands. They were about to leave their dorm as a raspy voice stopped them.
"You're not going anywhere without me", Remus started, "especially not if you're that bad at whispering!", he exclaimed, voice held low to not wake up Peter, too.
Padfoot and Prongs turned around surprised, but remembered Remus' Werwolf senses and that it was impossible to whisper without him hearing every single word. The two boys sighed; Sirius a little mad at himself because he was eager to grant the young wolf some sleep.
The three boys sneaked almost soundless through the Gryffindor Common Room and used some of the secret passages to avoid the open corridors.
"So, what do you think y/n is doing again?", James asked curiously and a little tired. How many times had he and his friends protected the little girl from getting herself killed? He couldn't remember.
"What she's always doing", Moony answered, "hiding something from us or preparing some pranks on Snape."
It sounded simple, but it wasn't. y/n had, similar to Sirius, great problems with her family, who was trying to make a perfect pure blood wife out of her; beating her up badly when she wouldn't listen to what her father told her to do.
The y/e/c eyed girl hid her bruises from the Marauder's every time, not that it would stop them from finding out, though. But still, she was bloody stubborn and determined to keep her problems all to herself, causing the four boys to worry a lot.
She was a loyal part of the Marauder's, too, and never hesitated to sacrifice herself if James, Sirius, Remus or Peter were in any danger. She nursed all of Remus' wounds and scars and helped him to accept his flaws, while y/n practically was Sirius' therapist and James' advisor for everything that had to do with Lily Evans. Even for Wormtail she took her time and put effort in integrating him more into the group, although Peter secretly accepted that the girl with the mane resembled more of the Marauder's spirit than he did.
Knowing that y/n creeped through the black hallways again made not only Sirius uncomfortable. The three Marauder's quickened up their pace, following every of the girl's steps on the map. Some minutes passed, when they were close to the Tapestry Corridor. Three wooden wands were uplifted; enlightening the dimmed corridor and revealing a small back, covered by y/n's hair.
"Mane? Hey! What are you doing here?", Sirius addressed the girl and y/nstartled. Quickly she turned away from the door she was about to open with shaky hands.
"None of your business, Black! Could ask you the same question, couldn't I?", was y/n's rough answer.
"Well, we're not the ones sneaking through the hallways at night!"
"Well, James. In fact, you do. Right here, right now", the y/h/c haired countered.
"What Prongs was trying to say was that we're only here for you. You're the one doing stuff without informing us", Remus caught up, "and I'm sure you're hurt again by the way your hands are shaking."
y/n cursed the tall boy with the freckled face for his gift to read people like a book. He was attentive and good with human behaviour, exposing the unofficial fifth Marauder more often than she would like to.
"Ugh, I hate you. Y'all", y/n commented and catched Sirius' worried look upon her.
"No, you don't. You love us, all of us", James corrected the tiny girl and grinned.
"So, are you going to tell us what you're up to here?", Sirius demanded to know, again.
"Wanted to brew a potion, nothing more...", y/n admitted. But of course this wasn't enough of an answer for Sirius fucking Black.
"For what purpose?"
"As painkiller, certainly. Just look at how her body is all tense", Remus replied instead of y/n herself. The girl sighed resigned and leaned her aching body against the cold of the door behind her.
Almost simultaneously, Sirius tuck his wand into his waistband and stepped forward to lay a hand on y/n's waist and back. She hissed in pain, but relaxed when the warmth of Sirius' body reached her own shivering figure.
y/n leaned into his touch and was secretly more than grateful her friends discovered her; not sure if she would've made it without them. The last encounter with her father wasn't a nice one.
"What about I and James get the ingredients for your potion and brew it, while Sirius puts you to bed, huh?", Moony made a proposal and got a weak nod from the typical strong girl. Her legs started to feel like jelly, as all of the pressure left y/n at the presence of her friends.
Without hesitation, Sirius lifted his best friend into his muscular arms. Immediately y/n curled up and placed her vibrant head against his shoulder; absorbing all of his warmth and smell.
"Hold on a minute...", James suddenly interrupted, "is that Padfoot's joggers with Moony's flannel?"
This thought came into Prong's mind as his wand gleamed onto y/n's body, searching for any outer wounds or bruises. Just the moment he said it, Remus and Sirius laid eyes on the almost sleeping beauty.
"Yeah, that's definitely my joggers! Been searching them for a couple of weeks now!"
"I guess our Mane here felt free to use our closet...but we can't be mad, Padfoot. Just see how good it looks on her", Remus noticed and giggled after.
"You're probably right...", Sirius said before heading towards the boy's dorm again.
Unsure James and Remus were left alone, watching the storeroom door as if it would open just by their gaze. Which it didn't.
"Any idea what we need for the potion?", Prongs questioned and observed Remus and the door.
"Kinda...", Moony whispered, drawing attention to the correct opening spell for the door.
"I mean, we should take her to Madame Pomfrey. Her pain seems bad, so..."
"You know we can't do that", the young werwolf stated, "her parents will know and it'll get worse. I dislike this as much as you do, but look at me. I'm the perfect example that our potions do their work, otherwise I wouldn't be standing here.
Remus' calm voice convinced James and he nodded in agreement. "Fine, then let's open this bloody door."
...
Meanwhile Sirius was carrying a half asleep y/n to his bed. She didn't move on the way back, nor did she talk to him. But his eyes already found some deep blue and purple spots on the skin of her wrists, giving him an answer. He'd absolutely kill her father if it'd stop him from hurting the precious girl in his arms. Just as all of the boys would defend y/n.
James had already thought of asking Mane to move in. With Sirius and so on, so she was safe. But it was something he knew y/n would be too modest to accept; she'd feel bad after, which is why Prongs kept quiet.
"Here you go, little one", Sirius whispered as he tucked y/n into his bed. She let out a content groan because of his smell surrounding her. She snuggled into the soft pillow, looking as cute as hell.
"Hey, y/n, you need something else?", Padfoot asked softly while caressing her cheek.
"Just you", she aspirated tired. Sirius' heart grew warm at the words of her. It meant the world to him that an angel like y/n, put on the hell of earth, still managed to melt his heart and giving him so much love, even though he wasn't sure if he deserved it.
Fulfilling her wish, the boy with the long dark hair laid next to y/n and pulled her into his arms again. She let out a relieved breath and buried her head into Sirius' chest.
He was almost asleep too, when James and Remus returned from getting the ingredients they needed for the healing potion. They eyeballed Sirius and y/n position knowingly, giving Padfoot a certain look, that he decided to ignore.
Moony and Prongs made quick work of the potion, not even waking up Peter, who was sleeping as deep as a stone, while Sirius watched the sleeping girl on top of him.
"Portion's ready. You should wake her up so she can sleep through and feel better tomorrow", Remus mumbled eventually. Sirius did as he was told and started to stroke y/n's hair, in order to carefully wake her up.
"Mane? y/n? C'mon, love. Wake up and take your medicine."
"Huh?", y/n murmured sleepily, not understanding what was happening around her. Remus sat down next to her and Padfoot, holding a small bottle of glass in front of her face.
The y/h/c haired girl thanked the boy with a grateful look and took a sip without squinching up her face at the bitter taste of the liquid.
"Thank you all, boys. For wasting your time to sleep and caring for me...", y/n said with a small grin.
"Always", they responded and smiled before going to bed, this time all of the five Marauders.

Mane is the Marauder name for the reader I came up with because I thought it was fitting (I'm sorry if you don't like it)

Chapter 3: You Could Call Me Babe for the Weekend
The next morning went by in a blur. They had moved everything to Wylan’s house on Geldstraat. Kaz was right. It would’ve been too suspicious if they had left for the party from the barrel. Questions about the job were being thrown from one person to the next. Various answers about cues and schedules flying in every direction.
“Wait, what time are we supposed to get to the party again?”
“Quarter after 6 bells, Jesper!” Yelled Wylan running by with an armful of party clothes.
“Nikolai and I are getting there at 6 bells. That way it won’t look like we know each other.” Y/N had been heading off in the opposing direction.
“Wylan! You forgot your jacket in the music room” Kaz’s raspy voice was easily recognizable above the others.
“I’ll go ahead and scout for the best location for you to hide to summon the storm. I’ll come get you at a quarter to 8 bells.”
Nikolai had to admire the crows’ ability to understand each other and get the job done in such chaos. They were running back and forth in every direction trying to get everything ready. Even Zoya seemed at ease discussing the plan with Inej. He needed this job to succeed. He needed to guarantee his country’s future. Once he was done dealing with this newest threat from Fjerda…? He’d like to work with the crows again. He felt much freer. Maybe it could become a side hustle for him and Zoya. It would give them a nice break from ruling a country.
He felt a soft hand rest on his arm. “Hey, we should probably go get ready for the party. We’ll meet here at 5 bells? That way we can go over last-minute details and head over.” She was smiling up at him. Her smile was soft as if she could tell he was anxious. He let his eyes trail over her tailored face and couldn’t help but miss her true features once more.
“Sounds good. I’ll see you then, my darling.” He pressed a quick kiss to her knuckles and watched her disappear up the vast staircase.
---
Nikolai made his way to the room Wylan had so graciously offered him that morning. It was not his room at the Grand Palace, but it was much nicer than the one he’d had at the slat. He took his time putting on the rich merch’s clothes Kaz had picked out for him. He was still in awe of the work Y/N had done on him. The young king found himself unavoidably staring at himself in the mirror mounted to his wall. He finished buttoning up his shirt and folded his suit jacket on his arm. It was almost 5 bells. He knew he should make his way back to the mansion’s parlor.
Nikolai had barely sat in one of the large armchairs when an appreciative whistle sounded on his left. He followed Jesper’s gaze to the stairs. Y/N’s dress accentuated her new body in all the right places. Nikolai couldn’t help but think it would’ve suited her even better before the tailoring.
“No one warned me I’d have to fight off every man who lays eyes on my wife.” He complained.
He watched as Inej and Zoya approached Y/N. The women shared a few whispered comments before they lead Y/N to him. He could’ve sworn he saw the girl’s cheeks turn red. He had to put up a lot more effort than he was used to in schooling his own features. The way the dress moved along to the sway of her hips, with every step she took, made his brain go blank. He imagined the way it would’ve been even more sensual with her natural curves. Maybe he could convince her to wear the gown again once she’d tailored them both back to normal. His mind was racing with images of her, twirling in his arms, wearing that damned dress.
“Anything you want to go over before we get going?” She was looking at him expectantly, her eyes bright, her tailored lips stretched in a small smile.
His mouth felt dry. All eyes were on him. He had to fight to kick start his brain again. “Nope, I think we’re ready.” He offered her a hand, his natural charm coming back to him. “Shall we, my darling wife?”
She took his hand and they headed for the door leading to the elegant boathouse. “No mourners” she called over her shoulder.
A unified “No funerals” rang out behind them. Nikolai made a mental note to ask them what the saying meant, at some point, when he wasn’t so distracted by the beautiful Grisha on his arm.
---
They’d taken a small, polished boat to make their way to councilman Van Verent’s house. It had only taken a few minutes for them to reach the sophisticated boathouse on the councilman’s property. A Stadwatch officer had taken their invitation before guiding them to the stylishly decorated mansion. Flowers from every guest’s country were arranged in beautiful crystal vases matching the colourful silk ribbons adorning the banister. As they entered the main hall, they were stunned by the sheer number of guests already in attendance. The main floor was filled with dignitaries from Kerch, Novyi Zem, Shu Han, Fjerda, and the Wandering Isle. Nikolai noticed the absence of anyone representing his country. Good, he thought, it’ll make the job easier.
To his dismay, Y/N was already catching the eye of a few men standing off to the sides of the room. He wrapped his arm tightly around her waist, pulling her closer, sending the interested parties a nasty look. He felt her breath hitch but didn’t release his hold on her body. She was his wife. Anyone who wanted to get to her would have to go through him. Nikolai was surprised by the jealousy he felt. He was usually in control of his feelings, always choosing to be pragmatic rather than emotional. He knew they had to put on a convincing act. He still wasn’t supposed to be this possessive of a girl he’d only met a few days ago, right? All the Saints and their mothers, Zoya will murder me if she finds out about this.
Y/N had maneuvered them towards a group of Zemeni dignitaries, quickly engaging in easy conversation with one of the wives. Nikolai used the opportunity to present their made-up business proposal to a few interested parties, promising to send them more information as soon as they went back home to the Wandering Isle.
They navigated group after group of foreign and domestic dignitaries for about an hour. He had to admit Kaz had done a wonderful job when creating their false identities, but he was tired of the constant mindless chattering. How lucky, he thought, the dance floor seems very appealing right about now.
He leaned in close, letting his lips brush against Y/N’s ear, interrupting her conversation. “You are doing a fantastic job, my love.” He felt her shiver against him. “I’m sure we’ll have plenty of business partners once you’re done here. Now, however, I would very much like to dance with my beautiful wife.” She looked at him, surprise evident in her deep brown eyes. Nikolai smirked; he could get used to this. He offered her a hand before guiding her swiftly to the dance floor.
He felt men staring, once again, at ‘his wife’ as they graciously made their way to the middle of the floor. The small orchestra started playing a beautiful soft song, perfect for a romantic moment between lovers. Nikolai rested his right hand on the small of Y/N’s back, pulling her close, keeping her hand tightly in his own. He felt her free hand gently come to rest on his shoulder. His heart beating more quickly than he would’ve liked. Why am I so nervous? She was gazing up at him, a gentle smile gracing her lips. He swallowed hard. Nikolai had never felt more grateful for the dance lessons he’d taken as a child. He’d only done it to please his mother. He had to admit he was glad they were paying off now. To anyone watching them, they simply looked like newlyweds, madly in love, eager to share a dance.
They turned elegantly, in time with the slow music, their bodies completely in sync. Their breathing even, their steps well-balanced. The deep green skirts of her dress following every graceful movement they made. She followed his lead perfectly as if they’d been partners for years. She seemed to trust him completely, showing him how safe she felt in his arms. Time slowed for a moment. Nikolai found himself forgetting all about the job, about the plans they had to steal, even about his country. He wanted to stay in this moment, holding the talented Grisha against him, forever.
The sound of applause brought him out of his reverie. He took in their surroundings. Y/N looked as surprised as he felt. Her eyes wide, cheeks flushed. He had no idea how long they had been dancing, how many songs had been played. It dawned on him that they were the cause of the applause. People had stopped dancing and talking to watch the young couple, completely lost in each other, moving elegantly across the floor. He saw Jesper and Wylan, wide grins plastered on their faces, in the far corner of the room. They looked way too pleased. Saints, I hope they won’t tell Brekker about this.
He bowed, Y/N following his lead once again, before walking off the dance floor, towards the grand staircase. They had to stop drawing so much attention to themselves. He wished he could have a moment to talk to Y/N, alone, away from the prying eyes of the crowd. She was playing her role to perfection, all smiles, as couples complimented them on their dancing for the next few minutes.
The ornate wall-mounted clock chimed. Zoya, Wylan, and Jesper would create the distraction in 15 minutes. Wylan subtly nodded to him, indicating he had already placed the small incendiary charge in the dining room. He had developed this newest marvel by studying and modifying one of David Kostyk’s discoveries. It seemed the boy truly was a genius. Jesper would detonate the charge at 8 bells, the sound of his shot covered by the storm Zoya would summon. The fire would require all-hands-on-deck to be put out, leaving the office unguarded. If everything went according to Kaz’s plan, it would give him and Y/N about 30 minutes to pick the lock of Van Verent’s office, crack the safe and make their way back to the party with the blueprints safely tucked in the sheath hidden beneath Y/N’s dress.
They came to a halt in the shadow of the staircase, ready to spring to action at their cue. Nikolai made sure to pull Y/N close, slipping an arm around her waist.
“I didn’t know you were such a good dancer, my love.” He murmured. Better keep up the act. She makes it easy, though. I don’t even have to lie.
She laughed softly and turned in his arms, snaking her own arm around his neck, pressing her lips quickly against his cheek. “Thank you, darling. I am full of hidden talents, you know...” the raise of her eyebrow and her tone so suggestive Nikolai had to fight to keep a straight face. She’s only doing her job. She’s supposed to be my wife. It’s only normal that a young wife should flirt with her delightfully handsome husband. He was trying to convince himself but the playful look in her eyes told him otherwise. She spun around once more, keeping his hand on her waist, leaving him to observe the guests enjoying the party.
The clock chimed once more. 8 bells. Thunder boomed outside, rain battering the windows. A high-pitched scream sounded to his right, coming from the dining room. Other screams quickly followed. Guests ran past them, fleeing the room. Guards came rushing down the stairs, towards the fire. It was complete chaos. Nikolai found himself impressed, once again, by how brilliant the crows were. Maybe I could convince Kaz to help me plan my next military campaign? Or get Wylan to come work with David. I should at least sail with the Wraith and her crew.
Y/N’s fingers closed around his wrist. “That’s our cue.” She said with a sly grin on her lips.

@ohcoolnice @whyyoudo I couldn't get the concept of han seok and junwoo being two different people out of my head so on this vincenzo-less sunday I give you a loose rewrite of canon where jun woo is the third jang brother and han seok's twin!
They were born jang han seok and jang han sol, and han seok is the older twin. They were separated when they were very young, because of han seok and an incident which ended up with han sol in the hospital. It was supposed to be temporary, but one of the house staff took pity on the poor child and smuggled him away. His name was changed to jun woo and they didn't find him again until both him and han seok were adults
They grew up very differently, han seok under the jang family, tormenting han seo and becoming the unhinged, solitary figure we all know and hate, and jun woo in an adopted family somewhere across the country into the dorky, sweet intern we knew for a bit and loved
Both of them somehow ended up spending time in america, though neither knew and they never met. Han seok because his father sent him there and jun woo because he got a scholarship to go to university there
Very few people now know about han seok himself, much less his twin brother. Before han seok's chairman takeover, most people think han seo is the only jang child
Jun woo knows he has a twin brother, but he doesnt know who he is. He can't remember his name or his face, or those of his real family. When he receives an offer for a job at wusang, he takes it as a learning opportunity and accepts
The only one who has all the cards is han seok, and so when he hears that jun woo has become an intern at wusang he decides its time to play them
So he spends people to observe and record jun woo, and after things start heating up and chayenzo declares war on babel, he kidnaps and threatens him, and tells him that he has to let him cosplay as him so that he can scope out the increasing threat
This is not how jun woo had ever thought meeting his long lost twin brother would go. He tries to put up a fight, but han seok hits him in the stomach with the hockey stick he's wielding like some kind of ancient weapon so hard that he spits out blood, and that takes the fight out of him
Han seok crouches down in front of jun woo and stares him in the eye, and it's like looking into a mirror except his reflection is staring at him with chillingly blank eyes.
It's the same for han seok, except his reflection looks back with open terror. The feeling it gives him is unpleasant and han seok doesn't like seeing weakness like that on a face that could pass for his own. But if he wants to get what he wants, he can't harm his twin too much just yet
Visually they're identical, so han seok passes perfectly for jun woo. He doesn't get all his mannerisms right at first, but with practice basically no one can tell the difference unless they look hard enough to notice that han seok's eyes are always empty even when he's copying jun woo's biggest grin.
A part of han seok feels a flash of jealousy at the fact that his twin has had a pleasant and fulfilling life while he's had to live neglected in the shadows for so long, so he takes extra satisfaction in the way jun woo's face falls when he appears in front of him for the first time dressed in his work attire, indistinguishable from jun woo on the average week day, backpack and all.
To spite him even further, han seok mimics his cheery, enthusiastic way of speaking, smiling so widely that it's mocking, and embraces the glee that jun woo's downtrodden expression gives him
He does hate having to curl his hair to copy jun woo's usual hairstyle though
At this point han seo finds out he has a second older brother, because han seok wants him to be able to continue to act normal and not freak out if he sees him cosplaying as jun woo
This brother is identical to his other one but actually really nice to him and it's both incredible and completely terrifying. It takes han seo a while to warm up to jun woo because he looks so much like han seok, as well as for fear of han seok's reaction, but he gets there
Whenever they meet (usually bc of han seok) the two bond over their shared fear and hatred of han seok. There's twice the himbo power. Incredible
Jun woo had had no idea that he had a younger (half) brother, and his heart goes out to him for having to live under han seok's abuse for so long
So he makes an effort to get to know han seo when han seok isn't around to yell at them. Han seo appreciates this a lot, because jun woo is like han seok on his incredibly rare good days except much better and all the time
Being a veteran at Handling Han SeokTM, he gives jun woo tips on how to get on han seok's good side and avoid getting things thrown at you
Jun woo tells han seo that one day when they get free of han seok they should take a trip to disneyland. Han seo, who has never been to an amusement park before, makes him promise it
Han seok's babel boss reveal presentation goes more or less the same way, except it's also a twin reveal and choi myung hee and mr han have to deal with the fact that not only is their intern the babel chairman's twin brother, but they have also been switching places regularly
Meanwhile cha young, who is out there living her best anti big pharma life, thinks jun woo is acting weird. Some days he's super bubbly, almost too bubbly, and on other days he's more subdued, seemingly a bit on edge.
Biggest red flag comes when she, him and vincenzo eat spicy food together
The spicy food tolerance gene missed han seok altogether and endowed han seo and jun woo with its power
So though he doesn't protest when cha young orders the extremely spicy dish jun woo usually gets for him, han seok struggles to finish the food almost as much as vincenzo does
Cha young thinks that's really sus, but she keeps her questions to herself because there's really no explanation for it unless jun woo was replaced by a government clone or aliens. Or his secret identical twin. Hah, imagine
She files the thought away for later and they continue to dig into the man behind han seo and babel. They find out about han seok, but there's no remaining information about jun woo in the files because the jang family thought losing him was supremely embarrassing so they tried to make sure no one knew
Meanwhile han seok is super happy he's gained another protective shield. If babel gets into trouble he can force han seo to go to jail for him, and if he ever gets personally exposed he can make jun woo take the fall for him. Genius
For that purpose he makes sure no one except the babel quartet know about him and jun woo being twins
He finds that it's interesting living as jun woo though, people interact with him in a way they never do when he's han seok. Jun woo's neighbours say hello to him when he goes by, and the lady in the local convenience store makes small talk with him and asks how his new job is going. And cha young is an incredibly unusual person, han seok finds that he has some level of attraction to her, and enjoys her company
While han seo is a puppet, jun woo is a mask, a protective measure and a means to explore the world, and han seok mentally pats himself on the back for having such useful brothers
But he has to stop spending time pretending to be jun woo for now bc he knows his identity is at risk of being discovered by jipuragi squad as they hunt down the person who exposed vincenzo as a mafia member
So when vincenzo does find out that han seok is allegedly jun woo, and tells cha young, it actually isn't han seok she's sitting with when she receives the news
Naturally she doesn't know this, and she feels supremely betrayed
And when vincenzo breaks into 'han seok's' house, it's actually jun woo's house. Jun woo, who was not expecting the mafia to break into his house, is understandably scared. The kneeling gun scene goes down, except there is no bravado on jun woo's part and he's genuinely terrified
Vincenzo is arrested as planned, and jun woo meets cha young in the police station as she goes to help vincenzo
She's furious, and jun woo honestly denies that it was him who killed her father and the babel victims, unable to expose that it was han seok because he's scared of the consequences and because it sounds like such a ridiculous excuse
Poor guy gets the double slap intended for his twin brother
When han seok hears about it he laughs a lot. Jun woo is understandably angry about his reaction, but he is forced to seethe in silence
Nevertheless han seok decides to go into hiding (and forces jun woo to do the same somewhere else, hiring guards to make sure he doesn't leave) because even if chayenzo think jun woo is the babel chairman, they still have the same face
Unfortunately for han seok this means that vincenzo's spy squad see him going into his own safe house, and he gets to be the victim of the drugged water
After a few more near death scares courtesy of the local mafia man, choi myung hee suggests he reveal himself as chairman so he doesn't die at the hands of vincenzo unknown and like a loser. And so he does
At the expense of jun woo, whose identity has more or less been stolen now, and who is now indefinitely confined to the family property han seok had him hide in
The war begins all out, and jipuragi squad works hard at removing han seok's support circle, starting with daechang daily, then the anti-union activities
Han seo watches all this unfold and starts to wonder how he can get his better older brother free while taking down the other one
The answer comes to him when he sees chayenzo cover han seok with pigs blood. They're the only people who seemed to consistently be able to one up han seok, and he has only heard good things about cha young from jun woo, not to mention the fact that surely even han seok can't defeat a mafia member in the long run
So he asks mr han to help him meet vincenzo, and he tells him he has twin older brothers and asks for his help in betraying the bad one and saving the good one
Vincenzo thinks he's messing with him, and turns down han seo's request to be on the same side
But then jipuragi squad opens the guillotine file, and there below han seok's escapades in homicide and the details on han seo's suffering, is the shocking secret of the jang family, the existence of a 3rd jang brother, han seok's twin brother jang han sol
Cha young remembers how jun woo hadn't been able to eat spicy food that one time and suddenly everything makes sense
For his part vincenzo remembers what han seo had said and mentally kicks himself for thinking it was a lie
They puzzle over what this could mean and where han seok's twin brother could be now. Is the man who revealed himself as the babel chairman the real han seok? Are both of them evil? Is one being used by the other?
Cha young silently wonders which times jun woo had just been jun woo, and which times she had been eating lunch or joking with han seok the babel chairman and serial murderer
They decide they have to find the other jang twin in order to answer their questions
Problem is that he's been absent from work for the past 2 weeks, and when vincenzo breaks into his house, it looks like it hasn't been lived in for quite a while
The trail seems to lead nowhere, and they turn their attention back to tearing down babel, with the new knowledge sitting uncomfortably in the backs of their minds
And then han seo shows up at the jipuragi office in all his coffee wielding glory to plead his cooler older brother's case again
This time, to han seo's surprise, they listen to him patiently when he tells them about his older brothers. He makes sure to stress that the only one he wants to betray is han seok, and that jun woo has done nothing wrong
If the fact that they've read the part of the guillotine file that talked about what han seo had had to suffer under han seok makes it easier for them to believe him, he doesn't have to know that
The only way they can strike at han seok and simultaneously clear jun woo of suspicion is to reveal that they're twins
To do that they have to find jun woo. Han seo doesn't know where exactly he is, but he tells them that han seok would probably try and use jun woo as a shield should he ever be sent to jail
The guillotine file gives them what they need to force the prosecution to put han seok behind bars under fabricated charges. It wouldn't last long once actual investigation starts, but hopefully it will be enough
Han seok takes the bait, unknowingly, and shuttles jun woo off in his place. There's not much that irritates him as much as the thought of going to jail, and this is the perfect chance to test jun woo's loyalty. It also gives him a blind spot to operate, while his enemies think he's in jail. You can't dodge a hidden dagger and all that.
When the jipuragi squad watches the arrest of the babel chairman on the news, there's a nervous hunch to 'han seok's' shoulders, and the impassive smile he seems to be going for isn't quite right
Vincenzo and cha young go to visit him in jail
When they first see him, cha young immediately feels bad, despite herself. He looks like he hasn't slept well in ages, and his expression is far from his usual cheer, sober and sullen. This had better really be jun woo, she does not want to ever feel pity for jang han seok
It is jun woo, and he really hasn't slept well in ages, as reuniting with han seok and his violent tendencies has reawakened the memories from his childhood in the jang household that he had supressed, causing all kinds of nightmares
He doesn't look up as they enter and sit opposite him. Cha Young takes charge, and vincenzo lingers behind her, a solid and present support
When she speaks his head snaps up at the sound of her voice, before he seems to want to correct himself and looks away
When he looks at her again there are no traces of jun woo in his face, his expression haughty and unbothered
It's chillingly like the han seok they had sat across following the pig's blood incident, and cha young has to work hard to push down the flare of anger the expression causes
She decides not to beat around the bush. She presses the printed page of the jang han sol section of the guillotine file up against the glass, and watches as jun woo's eyes widen, the facade falling as quickly as he had donned it
Jun woo takes in the picture of the two identical little boys and has to squeeze his eyes shut at the wave of fear that hits him
In its wake is a small flare of hope. If they know he isn't han seok, maybe they can help him
Cha young watches as jun woo seems to deflate at the sight of the document, and now she's sure it isn't han seok, because she's never seen him allow himself to show any form of weakness
When jun woo looks up again, there is determination mixed in with the weariness in his eyes
A while later, cha young exhales shakily as they walk out, vincenzo's hand steady and comforting on her back. She's surprised at how relieved she is to know that the jun woo she had known had not been an elaborate set up, a con which had seen her at some of her lowest moments. Her heart goes out to jun woo, but there's an undeniable joy at the confirmation that her friend still exists, because it means he can be saved
The plan is simply to collect evidence of the fact that jun woo is not han seok. Best case scenario a video of them together, though a good photo will do as well. It would also work if they can somehow get footage of han seok out and about while jun woo is in jail
The first obvious course of action is to look for cctv footage. They hunt high and low through the cameras at babel, at wusang, and around han seok and jun woo's houses, but the searches are largely fruitless
With han seo's help, they locate the safehouses han seok likes to hide out in, and vincenzo sends men to snoop around each property. This ultimately pays off when, at the 3rd property, han seok is spotted standing by a window.
The second stage begins with Mr ahn's help, and they get a swat team to raid the house han seok is hiding out in.
Fully believing that everyone thinks you're in jail makes you sloppy, and han seok doesn't see it coming until the black vehicles are speeding down his driveway
He doesn't stop to take anything much, he grabs a hockey stick and he runs, wild and angry, out into the dark of the woods surrounding the house
Vincenzo watches him charge into the forest on the cctv footage retrieved from the house and smirks
The footage hits the news the next day. The headline is in large, bold letters, "Chairman Jang Han Seok spotted at holiday residence, despite prison sentence." The picture below the tagline serves as the final blow, side by side images of Han Seok sprinting away from the house, and an identical man sitting demurely in a jail cell.
As the story breaks, people begin to step forward, old employees of the jang household who had known and seen both han seok and han sol. There's nothing like good gossip to get people talking, and the shocking secret of the jang twins makes the rounds in record time
Jun woo's identity is rechecked, and he is set free
Cha young, vincenzo and han seo go to meet him when he gets out. Han seo tackles him in a hug, and cha young smacks him heartily on the back. Vincenzo doesn't react much but he does shoot jun woo a smile.
Han seok hasn't been seen in days, and jun woo is unbelievably happy to be himself again
It isn't over yet though, babel still needs to pay and han seok still needs to be found. Search parties comb through the woods around the house regularly, but there's still no sign of him. In the meantime, jipuragi prepares their final attack.
Han seo lets jun woo stay with him, and the house is fortified by multiple levels of guards
It's still mildly unsettling for han seo to have someone with han seok's face in his house, in his own safe space, but jun woo makes for a far better housemate than han seok ever was, and gradually he relaxes
For a few days, despite the tension of not knowing where your psychopath brother who probably really wants to kill you could be lurking, when there is a spare moment in the evening, han seo and jun woo catch up on years of lost brotherhood
Han seo tells him about his mother, and jun woo talks about his adopted family. Neither of them mention han seok, they skirt around his name like he doesn’t exist, like speaking their trauma aloud to someone who had been there too would make it too real to bear. Jun woo knows he had gotten the better end of the deal, he had been separated from han seok pretty early. Han seo had lost too many years of his life to their psychopath brother, and jun woo isn't sure he knows how to confront that, or how to comfort him. He hopes he can learn
Han seo wants to ask what exactly had happened to lead to jun woo being removed from the jang household and separated from han seok, but he doesnt dare. Maybe later, maybe when they aren't still worried about what han seok could do to them
Then the jipuragi squad files their lawsuit against babel. Han seok still hasn't been heard from, and they begin to wonder if he got lost in the woods. Maybe he fell of a cliff, or into a river
Either way, the trial goes spectacularly badly for babel, aided by the fact that vincenzo had threatened the unjust judge before the trial. The verdict is guilty, and it serves as a means to kick-start further investigation into previously dismissed babel trials
The day after the trial, han seok reappears
He was lost in the woods for a while, but he found his way out and laid low for a while plotting a way to get back at vincenzo and cha young for destroying his backup plans and destroying his family and company's reputation. He will also have to deal with his traitorous brothers.
It's a big blow, but it's not one he cannot recover from. All he has to do is get his revenge, terrify his brothers back into submission, and go back to his plans for his babel.
So he requests the kidnapping of cha young, and he gets his men to attack the guards at han seo's house and take her there, cornering his brothers. He strolls in when he gets word that everything is done, cocky and confident, twirling a gun between his fingers
He takes in the open fear on han seo's face, the frightened anger on jun woo's face, and the sneer on cha young's face, and he laughs. They are consistent to the very end, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
All that’s left is vincenzo, and a short while after a brief and taunt filled phone call he arrives, eyes wide and angry. Han seok does not waste time in pointing his gun at the mafia man. He stops where he is, still glaring at han seok, eyes darting regularly to cha young
Because he is never one to turn down some fun, in a bid to further anger vincenzo, han seok crouches down and points the gun to cha young's head. He watches at vincenzo's face twists with anger and worry, and he revels in it. Out of the corner of his eye he sees jun woo has moved in front of han seo, like he's protecting him, and han seok wants to laugh
He speaks to cha young in jun woo's voice to spite them both, mockingly sounding out his words in his twin's bright tone
But suddenly vincenzo drops to his knees to plead for cha young's life, and han seok grins in satisfaction. The satisfaction is shortlived, however, as something solid suddenly crashes into the back of his head
It dazes him enough that he lets go of cha young for a moment, and she takes the chance to headbutt him so hard that he drops the gun. Vincenzo pounces almost immediately, and aims a kick to han seok's head, knocking him out
The last thing he sees before everything fades to black is his spitting image standing a distance away, holding a dented art deco lamp.
When they are sure han seok has been knocked out for real, the relief that sweeps the room is palpable. Han seo slumps down and jun woo moves to check on him as vincenzo unties cha young
Jun woo moves to call the police, but vincenzo tells him not to.
Instead, he makes a call of his own, and soon two men enter and carry out the still unconscious han seok. Jun woo wants to ask where they’re taking him, but there’s a dark glint in vincenzo’s eyes that makes him swallow the question.
None of them see han seok again until he’s on the news. His body is found in a river near the family property he had first run away from, and the consensus seems to be that he fell in and drowned while lost in the woods
The whole matter has vincenzo written all over it, but no one is going to ask about it
Han seo and jun woo hold a funeral for him because it would be suspicious if they didn’t, but they work hard to make it as underwhelming as possible. When han seo cant stop shaking (whether it’s in weariness, relief, or anger at any traces of grief, jun woo can’t tell, and honestly neither can han seo) as they stand in front of the portrait of their deceased brother, jun woo silently rests a hand on his back.
After that is over with, they take a break to have a small ‘han seok is gone’ party, and then they both throw themselves into work
Han seo takes charge of babel, firing all of han seok’s people and working hard at cleaning up the stain of corruption he’d left behind. He works hard to transform the company’s reputation, and begins the process of compensating all the people who had been wronged by them in some shape or form
Jun woo leaves wusang and starts his own law firm. Han seo makes the company his first customer, and jun woo tries hard to run his firm without any traces of what made lawyers at wusang such monsters
Cha young and him have a friendly law firm rivalry going, much to vincenzo’s amusement
When they aren’t working, jun woo and han seo hang out a lot. Jun woo is determined to replace han seo’s memories of a terrible older brother with better ones with a more pleasant older brother. Han seo still struggles sometimes with seeing han seok in jun woo, but he’s more than happy to overwrite han seok’s image in his mind with jun woo’s
A few months after everything is stable again, they do take that trip to disneyland. The picture they take outside the park is framed on both their desks.
The next year, vincenzo and cha young get married, and han seo and jun woo attend the wedding. They bring expensive gifts, and jun woo cries like it’s his own family getting married. Cha young rolls her eyes at him, but she’s pleased to have him there
It will take a while to move on fully from the damage han seok caused, but they are all working hard at it. Because now han seok is gone for good, and everything is fine.
bonus
The Incident that led to han sol becoming jun woo happened when he and han seok were 6 and han seok, having decided that they had to see who was the superior twin, challenged him to a fight to the death
It was traumatic to the point that jun woo repressed all the memories of his childhood with han seok
Han seo once called jun woo hyung when speaking to han seok, and han seok got really angry and threw a lamp at him
Before vincenzo finishes off han seok, cha young slaps him six times to make up for the two slaps she mistakenly gave jun woo
After everything blows over, jun woo takes han seo with him the next time he goes to visit his adopted family. They dote on him like he's their family too, and han seo feels more loved than he has since he lost his mother. He says so to jun woo, and from then on he takes him along whenever he visits them
Cha young, jun woo and han seo meet up sometimes to eat spicy food, both because they like it but also to spite han seok’s memory just that little bit more
Because han seok died before he could find out about vincenzo’s mother, she’s alive and well and vincenzo visits her regularly

nobody's keeping score
Ship: HideKane
Summary: In a world where ink stains the white papers of constitutions, damning the lives of ghouls, their existence is no secret or rumor, but a topic of heated debate, protests, and anonymous organ donations in shady alleys. No matter how bright the CCG appears in their white coats, their light cannot reach the dark tunnels where ghouls and sympathizers alike are plotting. And when Hide, after hours of sitting at his best friend’s hospital bed, sees him wake with one eye black and red, the difficult question is not how to get him help, but how to avoid him becoming the figurehead of a conflict threatening to turn into a bloody revolution.
AN: Notes: You ever just take a 4-year break from a fandom and return with spite fic because you remembered how much you hated canon? Yeah. This fanfic is my attempt at corralling the TG worldbuilding into something coherent that makes sense. I will keep some elements of canon, others I will throw out of the window straight away. This is utterly self-indulgent.
“And with the developments in synthetic meat production—”
Hide wanted to groan. They’d been discussing the same question for the last three hours of class and he was, frankly speaking, done with it. People were running out of arguments and circling back to topics that didn’t contribute anything to the conversation they were supposed to be having. From the way their lecturer was glaring at the latest speaker, Hide would say that she was also very done.
“Yoshimura, as stated before, we are not discussing possibilities for ghoul integration, but the mere premise of whether they even deserve the rights needed to legalize their status as citizens. The right of existence of an individual should not be dependent on what modifications would have to be made to accommodate them, but whether they deserve to live regardless.”
Hide had zoned out about an hour ago. His opinion on ghouls had always felt rather clinical, mathematically detached, despite Hide’s history. Maybe too much time had passed since he’d looked at the bloody remains of his father to really hammer home the fear-motivated rejection so many people fell to. Perhaps the CCG investigators, who had dragged him away from his father’s corpse, should have allowed him to get a little more traumatized before the kindness of his new parents had become enough to dull those painful memories.
Some ghouls were no different than brutal serial killers, and they had to be taken down, but the rest seemed to be getting by just fine. If a new legislation would make it even easier for them to go about their everyday lives, perhaps the number of violent ghoul attacks would go down as well. Hide was well aware that this was the view of a privileged person. Growing up in the 20th ward meant that you needn’t be scared of leaving your house when it was already dark. Kamii University prided itself on the fact that it could safely offer evening classes such as the one Hide was attending now. The same certainly couldn’t be said for the other wards. Any citizen between the 9th and 13th wards would probably advocate vocally for the extermination of ghouls. The 11th especially resembled a warzone even during the daylight. Ghoul sightings were nothing unusual there, and investigators’ mutilated bodies were displayed as trophies and warnings alike. Meanwhile, nobody had died in the 20th war for something like ten odd years. Sometimes it felt like waiting for the other shoe to drop, but most of the time, Hide didn’t even think about ghouls.
By the time class was finally over, Hide had taken only one or two more bullet points. They hadn’t really said anything of interest and it reflected in his writing. Usually, Hide would be sending rapid-fire texts to Kaneki now, but his friend was still on his date and Hide didn’t want to bother him. It had taken more than just a bit of teasing and probing to get Kaneki to ask that girl out and he wouldn’t self-sabotage his hard work.
It was good that Kaneki was connecting to people that weren’t just Hide.
And it would be awesome if Hide could do the same.
Codependence needed two people to work and Kaneki was definitely not the only one struggling with independence. Hide had yet to figure out how to let go of Kaneki when his relationship to the other boy had been the only stable thing in his world for the longest time. Nothing said mental health like latching onto an abused child to escape the stifling air of his brand-new foster fathers’ home.
The next time he visited his parents, he’d bring them some flowers to make up for how troublesome he’d been as a child.
Glancing at his phone again, Hide realized he had to hurry if he wanted to take the early bus home. He was just about to plug in his headphones when an unknown number flashed up on the display. Who would call him at this time? Hide was definitely someone who preferred texting. Even his parents knew better than to call unless it was serious. The only person he ever actually called was Kaneki, and that was only because his friend sometimes got so lost in a book, he forgot to text back or didn’t even hear the phone buzz. Hide contemplated picking up for another ring, then gave in and accepted. “Nagachika Hideyoshi speaking, who’s calling?”
“Hello, I am Tanaka Akako, a nurse of the Kanou General Hospital. You are Nagachika Hideyoshi, Kaneki Ken’s emergency contact?”
The blood in Hide’s veins froze.
“Yes, I am. Has— has anything happened? Is Kaneki alright!?”
The nurse’s voice was so calm, steady, and pleasant as if this was a chat between friends. Somewhere Hide knew that it probably helped most people, but it just put him on edge. “Nagachika-san, your friend and another young woman were involved in an accident. Dr. Kanou is preparing him for surgery, but as his emergency contact, we have to discuss the possible options before we can proceed.”
Hide didn’t want to discuss any options. There shouldn’t be any besides Kaneki’s survival. Hide wanted to rush into the operation hall and hold Kaneki’s hand, wishing he could turn back time, tell his friend to remain at his side and consider that girl out of his league so he’d spent the evening with him and not getting sent to ER. This couldn’t be real; he was sick to his stomach.
“What are the options?” Hide asked, panic threatening to strangle him as he rushed to the street, trying to find a taxi to take him to Kanou General straightaway.
“Kaneki-san sustained serious injuries. Dr. Kanou is willing to transplant the deceased Kamishiro-san’s organs into your friend to save his life even if her family hasn’t consented yet. The only consent we can ask for in Kaneki-san’s case is yours and—”
“Do it,” Hide replied immediately. He didn’t know Kaneki’s date, and as much as Hide loved people, argued for a baseline acceptance every day in class, he couldn’t bring himself to care about the wishes of a family whose daughter was already dead. The only thing they were still good for once their hearts stopped beating was serving the living with their remains.
Kaneki might survive because of her; what else could matter? “Do it, whatever you need to save him— you have my full permission.”
Finally, a taxi approached and stopped right when Hide waved for it. He quickly climbed inside and, paying no attention to the driver, told him to get to the hospital as quickly as possible.
“And in case he doesn’t survive, may his organs—”
“He will survive,” Hide pressed because he didn’t know what he’d do with himself if he were to lose Kaneki. He’d built a life around his best friend and how much they meant to one another. Hide couldn’t give up on that, couldn’t let it slip past his fingers. “He’ll survive. I know it.”
Organ transplants took place every day without any complications—
Hide’s eyes widened. “Kaneki has recessive ROS!” he all but shouted at the nurse, startling the taxi driver.
Kaneki’s father had died because of it. If Kaneki got the wrong blood transfusions or anything, his RC cells were suddenly pushed to start acting up, the dormant sickness could turn on and what if Hide had just damned him to a life of wasting away—
No.
Stay positive. Don’t freak out even more. They hadn’t done anything yet, merely asked for Hide’s permission to help Kaneki at all. He was saving his friend’s life; he wasn’t cursing him.
“Thank you for telling me, Nagachika-san. I will pass that on to Dr. Kanou. You have just contributed immensely to the safety of the procedure.”
“I’ll be there in a few minutes,” Hide said. “Just— he has to hold on. Tell Kaneki he has to hold on until I’m there.”
“We will, Nagachika-san, don’t worry. Dr. Kanou will do his best.”
His best.
The words echoed in Hide’s mind. How was he ever supposed to know if Kanou’s best would be enough for his friend? Hide excelled at being optimistic, could see the positive side of most things in life, had learned how to be hopeful at the funerals of people he’d loathed. He just couldn’t allow himself to drown in any negative possibilities.
The rest of the drive passed in the blur, either because the driver had known to speed up after listening in on the phone call, or because Hide was so out of it that he didn’t really register the streetlamps flickering by until the taxi had reached its destination. Hide passed the driver a couple bills, probably more than the transport had actually cost, but he didn’t care. What were one or two skipped meals compared to being there before it was too late? Hide rushed inside the sterile white hospital, eyes immediately set on the front desk.
“My friend,” Hide stuttered as he clung to the counter, holding it as if it were his lifeline. “He was brought in— an accident. He was on a date and there was an accident. Dr. Kanou is operating him?”
The receptionist seemed confused, needing a moment to make something coherent out of Hide’s rambles. “I need your identification before I can tell you anything about our patients.”
“Yes, yes, of course.” Hide fumbled for his student ID card and put it on the counter with shaky hands. “Nagachika Hideyoshi, I’m Kaneki Ken’s emergency contact.”
“Of course, your friend is still in the operating room. You can wait here.”
Hide didn’t want to wait, but what else was there he could do? He hated feeling useless like this, unable to contribute anything productive. The receptionist sent him a kind look and, defeated, Hide crossed the entrance hall to the waiting room where he remained together with other worried family members and patients, clutching his phone so he wouldn’t start screaming. He couldn’t stop moving his legs, stress keeping him wide awake even as the hospital emptied and less and less people sat around him. How long did such an operation take? An hour? Two? Hide had absolutely no idea. He didn’t study anything like this. His major was English literature, which was about as helpful as hot air at this moment.
He could quote enough books concerned with some medical drama and family members in the hospital, but none of them brought him any comfort.
“Nagachika-san?”
Hide looked up into the kind face of an elderly man wearing a pristine white coat.
“Y- yes?” Hide replied and quickly stood up, brushing imaginary dust from his pants. “Are you Dr. Kanou? Is my friend alright? Can I see him?”
“I am sorry to have caused you such worries. The operation went well. Your friend is resting in intensive care right now. He is still asleep, but you may visit him. The presence of loved ones is often very beneficial to the healing process.”
Healing.
A sob shook Hide’s shoulders. Kaneki was alive. He hadn’t died.
“Thank you,” he managed to say in between his sobs. “Thank you, thank you for saving his life.”
The doctor only kept on smiling and kindly put his hand on Hide’s shoulder, squeezing it lightly in what was meant to be comforting. “It is my job, young man. You don’t have to thank me. Nothing is more important to me than saving innocent lives. If you follow one of the nurses, you can see your friend immediately.”
Hide thanked the doctor once more, relief slowly filling the pits anxiety had hollowed out. He followed the nurse through the labyrinth of death, decay, healing, and salvation up to the intensive care station. Quietly, he was led to a room. The door opened, revealing one lone figure on a bed.
From a distance, hooked up with so many tubes and wires, Kaneki was nothing like the person who took up half of Hide’s life. He seemed so much smaller and looked like just one push could snap his connection to life.
“Please remain quiet,” the nurse told him. “And don’t move him.” Glancing at his still trembling fingers, she added, “but you may hold his hand.”
Hide nodded, then quickly crossed the room to Kaneki’s bed and sat down on the chair next to it. Kaneki didn’t move at all; not even a single muscle twitched. Hide would assume they had led him to view his friend’s corpse if not for the steady rise and fall of his chest. Pushing up the sleeves of his jacket, Hide took Kaneki’s hand in his own.
“Hey, Ken,” he muttered, pressing his eye close so no tears would escape them. “You scared me there. Don’t ever do that again.”
Predictably, Kaneki didn’t reply. Nevertheless, Hide imagined that just for a moment, he squeezed Hide’s hand back. Slowly, the tension bled from Hides’s shoulders and he made himself comfortable in the hard plastic chair. This was bound to be a long night and he was starting to feel his exhaustion catch up to him. He tried to keep his eyes trained on his friend for as long as possible, remaining alert for a change to his condition, but it was getting more and more difficult to keep them open.
Eventually, the darkness caught him as he fell. Hide knew he stirred a couple more times during the night, likely when the nurses came to check on Kaneki. Nobody asked him to move and leave, something he was immensely thankful for. He wouldn’t have been able to let go. By the time the sun began to chase away the shadows again, Hide wasn’t sure how much he had slept, only that it had definitely not been enough. But that was alright, he could catch up on sleep sometime later. It was far more important that Kaneki was going to be alright.
Hide turned to look at Kaneki’s face and found his friend awake, staring back at him.
One eye gray like a stormy cloud before the morning rainfall.
The other was blood-red against the night sky.

[Tales from the Pack] Chan: Homewrecker (Part Eight)
Tumblr media
Characters: Chan x female reader
Genre/warnings: werewolf au, fantasy, angst, parts where people y’know almost die, someone gets shot so that’s fun, there’s fluff at the end though!!
Word count: 3,770
Summary: Chan caught your attention as soon as your eyes met across the market. Something about him drew you to him, and you knew you were meant to be. However, you were already taken and arranged to be married on your next birthday, so you could never be together.
Previous | Next | Homewrecker Masterlist
Back at the house, the plan was for Jeonghan to stay in wolf form for when Chan contacted him – well, if Chan did, but that wasn’t a thought anyone wanted to have right now. Everyone would be okay, banshee be damned – no offense to Eunjin.
But all the plans were changed when every werewolf suddenly started growling, their eyes shifting to red and claws and fangs elongated. Those beside their mates tightened their protective grips and leaned toward the door. Even Junhui’s fingers wrapped tightly around Jia’s hand as he snarled.
The pack had a whole plan just in case: Joshua, Jun, and Jeonghan were to lead all the mates to the clearing before taking them all to Jiung’s house. But there were so many men, and it was impossible to stick together without getting caught. Jeonghan tried to attack as many of them as he could, and Joshua did everything he could to help. But with them occupied trying to keep all of them safe, it just meant more men could come and pluck them off one by one.
As things started to turn to chaos, thunder rumbled nearby before they saw the sky light up with lightning strikes. They knew it had to be because of Seokmin, and hey hoped his new power would come in handy.
“Well,” Jooyeon breathed, taking two knives that she’d sheathed in the holsters on her thighs out, “guess it’s time for a new plan.”
The thief also had a belt stocked with knives of various sizes, and even had a tomahawk that Soonyoung had brought her back from town a few days ago. Eunjin watched her with wide eyes, while Danbi just clung to her for protection.
“We need somewhere safe to keep Jia,” Jooyeon stated, her eyes searching the area for somewhere to keep the blind girl out of danger until they could escape.
“Danbi and Eunjin, hide her in the basement and lock it,” Seokmin ordered, pointing to the cellar doors. “It sounds awful, but it’s our safest bet for them to not get to her. Jooyeon, you’re in charge of keeping them safe. We’ll guard the basement as much as we can, but you’re the last line of defense if anyone gets through, okay?”
It had quickly turned into a mess all around. Jooyeon was doing what she could to keep the mates safe – nobody, not even the wolves, thought they’d see her kill a man before, but she had stabbed a few – but it wasn’t enough. They were smaller girls against big, burly guards and werewolf hunters that were trained for this.
The mates’ seemed to collectively decide Jia was the biggest concern -- Jiwoo was already back at Jiung’s and had been taken there the night before. While Jia was always very capable, it was difficult for her to defend herself when she couldn’t see, so the girls had kept Jia in the center of their little huddle they’d formed in the basement. However, when Seokmin was surrounded by guards, and Jooyeon had run out of weapons, things got chaotic. Guards began running down to the basement through the doors outside, quickly overpowering their last line of defense.
“Run!” Jooyeon called as she tried her best to fight off the burly men. “I’ll hold them off, just go!”
“I’ll stay with Jia. Everyone else, go,” Danbi promised, already grabbing the blind girl and moving her forward toward a new exit. “C’mon, we need to go.”
“Go? Go where?” Jia asked frantically as she tried her best to keep up with Danbi.
“Somewhere safer,” she stated.
But as Danbi was leading Jia toward the edge of the forest while managing to stay out of the eye of the guards and hunters, they heard a loud gunshot. Their heads whipped around to the side and Danbi could clearly see her mate’s wolf form drop to the grass, and smoke coming from the gun pointing at him.
“Mingyu!” she cried before dropping Jia’s hand and racing toward him.
“Danbi, wait!” Jia called after her, but stayed in her spot since she didn’t know where to go.
Thankfully, Wonwoo heard her call and spotted her, managing to throw the two guards away just to get to the lost mate. He mumbled to himself about how could his sister ever leave the only blind mate alone as he guided her into the woods and tried to hide her as best as he could.
“Stay here until someone comes for you,” he instructed.
“Wait, but Mingyu--”
But Wonwoo had already run off to keep helping his pack.
Meanwhile, Danbi dropped to her knees beside Mingyu, not seeing the blood in his fur until the sky lit up once again. It looked like it just grazed him, but the sizzling sounds from the silver burning his skin didn’t make her feel any better.
The sound of the gun cocking was what caught the girl’s attention, averting her worried look away from her mate that was whining softly. Danbi’s eyes widened when she saw the gun aimed at her, gasping.
Mingyu’s head immediately lifted, ready to protect his mate no matter what, even if he was injured. It was in his instincts to keep her safe. He would protect her even if he had all of his limbs cut off.
Danbi closed her eyes, waiting for the shot as she leaned into Mingyu. Her mind filled with thoughts of her, her mate, and their daughter. The knowledge that she’d be leaving Jiwoo without any parents sent the sharpest pang of hurt straight through her heart. She whimpered out Jiwoo’s name which only caused a loud whine to be heard from Mingyu as he put his head against the side of hers.
However, when the shot went off, neither of them moved. Neither fell back and went limp. Neither cried out in pain.
Slowly, Danbi opened her eyes to see an almost clear orb around her sand Mingyu with a faint blue tint to it.
Danbi’s eyes landed on her brother who was kneeling right in front of them, holding both hands out. She let out a breath she was holding, staring at her brother in awe.
“You– You–” she stammered before mumbling, “I forgot you could do that...”
Wonwoo didn’t need Jia to tell him his sister was in danger. If Jia was calling for Danbi and she had run off somewhere, he knew it was for good reason. She was the first person he went to go find, and thankfully, he was just in time.
“Mingyu, are you good to walk?” Wonwoo asked.
Coming back to his senses from the shock, Mingyu nodded.
“Take Danbi and go find Jia in the woods,” he ordered before looking over his shoulder. “Take them to the clearing and then straight to Jiung’s. Keep each other safe, got it?”
As Wonwoo suddenly turned menacing again, lunging toward the man who tried to kill the three of you, Mingyu collected his mate on his back. Mingyu went straight for the tree line, sniffing Jia out before taking both mates to the clearing, praying to whatever God that was listening that their family would be safe.
-
The ride was short, but it would’ve been shorter if the forest hadn’t become so foggy all of a sudden – Jia and Danbi guessed it was the work of Seokmin, who was causing the thunder and lightning. Mingyu laid down in the grass to allow the two girls off. He let out an unhappy huff as he stood and looked around, trying to hear for any sign that somebody else had followed. When he decided it was safe, he whined and dropped back into the soft grass.
Before anybody could say anything, a scream cut through the darkness, causing the girls to cover their ears and squeeze their eyes shut. They knew exactly what it was, but they knew the scream couldn’t be anything harmlelss this time -- especially in this situation.
As soon as it was over, Mingyu worriedly nudged his mate with his nose, and gestured with his head for her to get back on. Danbi helped Jia on before climbing on herself. Once everyone was situated, Mingyu raced off toward Jiung’s house.
Nobody was sure if Eunjin’s scream was signaling that death was coming or had already happened, but Mingyu wasn’t going to stick around to find out when he had two of the mates to take care of and a daughter to get back to.
-
Kyung was the one to answer the door, and Danbi couldn’t be more happy to see her again. She just seemed so warm and caring but still tough before, so she instantly felt at least a little safer. She helped the small group in, already holding a set of folded clothes in her hands that she left on the porch for Mingyu.
“My name’s Kyung,” she introduced herself to Jia as she held the door open for the two girls to enter while Mingyu shifted back outside, “I’m Jiung’s sister.”
As the girls were brought into the living room, one of them holding a very long stick that she seemed to be using as a cane to know where she was going while the other girl held onto her upper arm, you studied them. You were only sure of who they were because Chan had spoken to you about them. Jia was easy because of her eyes and the way Danbi helped guide her. You assumed Danbi was the one with her because he face lit up and she raced over to the baby Chanseong was holding and began peppering her face with kisses and crying “my baby girl’.
“Channie!” Danbi grinned, holding an arm out to him when she noticed him on the couch.
“You’re all safe!” he breathed, standing up and running over to hug his sisters. “Thank god!”
“Us? What about you?” Jia laughed, pulling away to press her palm to his cheek. “You’re okay, right?”
He nodded, “Completely unscathed. Oh! Come meet _____!”
As he led them over to meet you, a tall man appeared in the doorway before striding over to the girl with the baby, placing a hand on her shoulder. His face spread into a toothy grin, which contrasted the blood staining the sleeve of his shirt.
Danbi frowned, “Mingyu! You’re still bleeding!”
Hearing this, Kyung walked over to investigate, sucking in a breath when she got near, “I can smell the silver. Chanseong, could you get the–”
“I know, I know,” Chanseong said teasingly, waiving his hand as he left the room.
“You could’ve said you were hurt, y'know,” Kyung told the taller wolf before pushing him to sit in a chair. Mingyu grabbed who you assumed was his mate, and pulled her to sit in his lap with his daughter, while Kyung rolled up his shirt sleeve, chuckling. “Ah, you guys just get cuter and cuter, huh?”
“Thanks,” he smiled proudly, not seeming to care that he was being burned by silver. “It’s mostly her and Jiwoo, though.”
“Mostly Jiwoo,” Danbi chuckled.
The tension relaxed due to the little bit of comedic relief Mingyu brought. But you couldn’t help but stare at them, just watching the happy couple interact with each other. Something about the way they looked at each other seemed...familiar. You watched how despite the pain made Mingyu’s face scrunch up in discomfort, his warm eyes that began spotting red still looked at Danbi and Jiwoo with such strong love and care. You felt like you’d seen a look like that before...
Chan stayed by your side the entire time, even as the room began to get tense again with worry. He warned you things might get hectic, but he promised nobody would hurt you anymore.
“We might stick around here for a while,” he told you softly while the mates and members of the packs talked among each other. “Just until things get sorted, and then we’ll go to a different place even farther away. But you’re safe, I promise.”
You weren’t sure what kind of ‘things’ he was talking about. You didn’t know anything about this ‘new house’, either. Everything he said to you went completely over your head since the pack never filled you in on their full plan. But as long as you were far away from your hometown, you were happy. You trusted Chan.
“You know,” Rika spoke up as the group waited for more people to arrive, “we should do something about _____’s appearance.”
“Why, what’s wrong with it?” Chan asked, sounding defensive as he gripped your hand a little tighter.
“No, he’s right,” Jia agreed. “The town will no doubt be looking for her, so we should at least do something about her hair so she’ll be less easy to recognize -- Jooyeon said she used to do that. Thief 101, I guess.”
You frowned, looking down at your hair as your fingers pulled through the ends, “I’ve never done anything to my hair before.”
“Ooh, can we?” Danbi asked excitedly, clapping her hands together. “I think she’d look cute with a new look!”
You gulped, unsure about the idea. You’d never done anything to your hair other than brush it, so the thought of suddenly doing some dramatic changes was something you weren’t too excited about. You liked the way your hair looked now, but you knew that word would spread about you, especially if there was a reward to get you back to your hometown to pay for the laws you’d gone against – not to mention a lot of guards were probably murdered in the process. So you had no choice but to let them change your hair at the very least.
“I think you’re scaring her, Danbi,” Chanseong chuckled, noticing your expression. “How about we don’t do anything just yet. I know you want something to take your mind off of the stress, but let the girl relax a little. She’s going through a lot, too.”
Chan, who knew you didn’t like the idea, leaned into you with a soft smile, “See, you get to wait a couple more days. Don’t worry, _____.”
The group continued to try to distract themselves from their worry by talking about other things and even taking turns playing with Jiwoo, but the conversation seemed to always go back to how the two packs were doing. Nobody knew of anything that was going on back at the house or in town. Was Donghae dead? Was everyone in the pack okay? Had anything bad happened?
And while you were wondering those things, too, you were also having different thoughts. You continued to observe Mingyu and Danbi until you finally recalled why the way he looked at her seemed to familiar. You’d seen only one other person look at you like that, and it was a look you’d never forget because nobody ever looked at you like that before -- especially not Donghae.
“Are you two married?” you finally asked them.
Chan had gone to the bathroom, leaving you alone in the room of wolves and mates.
The couple turned their heads to you, Mingyu’s fingers still tickling his daughter’s stomach as she giggled. Danbi smiled and let out a chuckle but shook her head, “No. Mates don’t usually get married but they can if--”
“Mates?” you repeated with furrowed brows, cocking your head to one side. “What’re those?”
“Chan never even explained them to you?” Mingyu asked before groaning and mumbling, “That kid’s digging a hole so deep...”
Danbi leaned toward you, deciding to be the one to explain, “Werewolves do this thing called imprinting. It’s basically like...the strongest sense of love, and it hits as soon as they see their mate. That person is essentially their soulmate for life. The werewolf won’t ever leave their side, will do anything to protect them, and will love them unconditionally. Mates are made for each other. A mate is a werewolf’s perfect match.”
Will do anything to protect them...
Chan had returned from the bathroom when he saw you still sitting on the couch, but now your face was slightly scrunched as you thought. He chuckled at you before sitting beside you and pulling you from your thoughts.
“What’s that look for?” he wondered, placing his hand back in yours.
You looked back at Chan, unsure if you should even bother bringing it up. You didn’t know if he’d think you were being silly or dumb, but you also figured it was better to bring it up sooner rather than later. As much as you liked Chan and wanted to be with him, it was probably better to discuss this before you got even more attached and caused yourself more heartbreak.
“Can we…talk outside?” you asked slowly.
“Okay,” he shrugged, figuring you were still worried about the events that were still taking place. He stood with your hand still in his, leading you out to the front porch.
Once outside, he closed the door while you went to stand by the railing, wanting something to do with your hands, so you held onto the wood. Chan stood beside you and watched your hands, noticing they were moving nervously. Now he was concerned because he didn’t understand why you’d be so nervous.
“Chan,” you began slowly, “can you be honest with me?”
“I always am,” Chan promised.
You still couldn’t bring yourself to look at him, but you felt your cheeks heat up before you even said anything, “So…why are you really doing all of this for me? Risking your life and the lives of your pack and your friends for me when I’m just a girl you met at the market?”
You didn’t like thinking about being away from Chan. You didn’t know why you felt so strongly about him already – maybe because he saved your life; maybe because you’d never been in love and you’d subconsciously convinced yourself this was it; maybe because somehow you really did love him already – but you couldn’t stand the thought of him kicking you out or you leaving him. But you didn’t want to think this was all something more than what it really was. You didn’t want to get your hopes up -- especially when love was something you’d dreamed of all your life.
“What?” Chan’s eyebrows knitted together, his head cocking to one side as he studied the side of your face. “Because I care about you a lot, and I want you to come live with us so I can keep you safe.”
“But why?” you asked again. “There has to be more of a reason. Why do you feel that way toward me?”
Chan sighed, dropping his head to look at his feet, “_____...I should’ve explained this to you sooner. Way sooner. Probably before I even brought you out here.”
You mustered up whatever courage you had left -- maybe it was a little bit of leftover adrenaline -- and looked Chan directly in his golden eyes, “Am I to you what Danbi is to Mingyu?”
You watched as his eyes widened and his lips parted in surprise, unsure of what to say. He didn’t know how you caught on -- he’d be even more surprised to find out you’d only caught on in the amount of time between the group showing up with Mingyu up to now -- and he wasn’t expecting you to call him out.
“U-um, I-I--” he stammered, trying to find words -- any words.
“I just don’t want to read too much into it,” you admitted, feeling silly for even asking now. “I thought maybe you looked at me kind of how Mingyu does with Danbi, and then she was talking about mates and--”
“You are,” he blurted, stopping your rambling. “_____, you’ve...well, you’ve always been my mate. I was just too afraid to tell you. I didn’t think you’d want to stay with me, but I was stupid to not just tell you before.”
“Really?”
He nodded, “As soon as I saw you that first day in the market, I knew. That’s how it works.”
You knew Chan wasn’t lying to you – he wouldn’t lie – but you just didn’t believe you were his mate. You were some average girl from an average town that didn’t have anything special to offer, so why would a werewolf imprint on you of all people? The other mates all had special things about them: Soomin knew everything there was to know about all kinds of creatures, Danbi was a werewolf’s sister, Jooyeon was a thief, Yeji was a hybrid, Eunjin was a banshee, and Jia could travel into peoples dreams. And what could you do? Nothing.
“I’m sorry I never told you,” he said softly. “I hope you’re not too upset with me.”
You shook your head, “No, I’m not. I just– I don’t understand…”
“What part? I’ll explain it better.”
“No, it’s not about imprinting,” you explained, “it’s…me.”
Chan frowned, giving you a confused look, “You?”
“Why me? I’m no Jia or Danbi. I’m– I’m just--”
Chan put a finger to your lips before you could think of the perfect adjective to describe just how boringly average you were, “Don’t even think about finishing that sentence, _____. If you were like the other mates, you wouldn’t be you. It doesn’t matter if you can’t sense death or throw knives or whatever – you are special to me as is, and I love you more tha– Uh…”
Your face flushed bright red at Chan’s words, especially his confession. You watched as heat rose in his face as well, reaching his ears as he closed his eyes and tried to mentally rewind time. He wondered if he ran fast enough around the world if he could turn back time and not confess to you twice in the same sitting.
Then again, he knew you probably knew that mates already just loved each other, but he didn’t need to blurt it out like that. He was really on a roll tonight.
“Did you–”
“No,” Chan blurted, his eyes still closed, “but…yes. I’m sorry, was it too weird?”
“No,” you laughed softly, shaking your head.
Finally, he cracked one eye open to see your expression before deciding it was safe, “Really?”
You nodded, “Really.”
“So, it’s okay if I tell you that I love you?”
“Only if you don’t ditch me afterwards.”
Chan scoffed, rolling his eyes as he pulled you in for another hug, “I’d never leave my mate behind.”
But after everything that’s happened, you already knew that.

The Last Time
w.c 4.3k
pairing. Jooheon x gn!reader
genre. angst, a little fluff maybe, idk how to classify it but it's my take on relationships in real life(?)
a/n. (warnings) I throw some curses here and there, mention of the word "sex" once, tried to make it as gender-neutral as possible, I could really use some help about t/w, feedback is more than welcome, hope you like the fic 🧍‍♀️
Once again you were at the same bar. With the same friends. Same music. Same drinks. It's safe to say that nothing's changed in here but you.
For some reason, you were awfully quiet tonight. Everyone was away from the table by now. All of them talking and dancing in groups.
You were regretting saying yes to going out the very moment Jasmine was at your front door. But your best friend really wanted to get you out of your house.
The thing is you weren’t going to be alone, all of your friends were tagging along. I guess I need to suck it up, maybe I could have fun, despite him.
And you really tried, there was no need to make a scene anymore. All of your friends have had their fair share of nights seeing you 'talk' with him and making things awkward for everyone. It's been a while, though. You haven't seen him in exactly 2 years.
How do I explain this? There's no resentment anymore, no hate for what happened between you. But when there's a choice between spending your Friday night at the same place as him or staying at home? Well...
But tonight was clearly different. Something (Jasmine) had dragged you here and to be quite honest, it hasn’t been half bad yet. Jasmine kept waiting for you to get up from your chair to come and chat with Jackson and Changkyun. Her all-time crush and his best friend.
"In a sec!! Just let me finish this drink!" You said while you showed her your glass. She quickly nodded and turned to keep talking with those two. You have to remember to thank them later for keeping her entertained because if it weren't for them cracking jokes every single second, she wouldn't have let you off the hook that easily.
Meanwhile, you decided to get a little lost in your head. Laughing to yourself because you were feeling like having a main character moment. Being the only one sat down in a place full of people. The mysterious persona drinking by themselves.
But that didn't last long.
"Mind if I sit here?" You shook your head. He put his drink next to yours and asked, "How are you?" And it somehow felt like you couldn’t have avoided this exact situation.
You released a breath that you didn't even know you were holding. "I'm sitting Jooheon, drinking… existing, you?" He forced himself to smile. Trying to hide the fact that he was still feeling uneasy around you. Nonetheless, showing you the dimples that you used to love so much.
“I can see that”, he paused, "it's been a lot since I last saw you, you look different".
You hummed softly, finally making eye contact with him. "So you expected for me to look the same?" You surely weren't going to pass up the opportunity to be passive-aggressive to him.
It still makes you happy to know that he has never minded this side of you.
"I'm teasing, I guess we both look different, it's been what? Two years?"
"I'm not sure, but it feels like a lot" He took a sip of his drink and started to fidget with the glass. Maybe you're not the only one that's changed after all.
In the two years, you were together, you never saw him like this. But let's remember the fact that you never fully knew him back then. It just feels weird to see him this anxious. Especially with you.
"I've wanted to reach out to you for a while now," You frowned at his words. "Guess I lacked a little courage" He let out an airy laugh. "I really want to talk to you".
Now it was your turn to feel tense. What is this supposed to mean? How long has he been wanting to talk? And talk about what?
You tilted your head and opened your mouth to ask him all this, but he didn't give you the chance to get the words out.
"Before you say something, please believe me I just wanna talk", "but not in here”.
"Alright then, where do you suggest we ‘talk’ Jooheon?” He took his phone out to check the time. 10:44 p.m. He pursed his lips and said, more like hesitating, "I could walk you home?"
You stared off into your group of friends. This was going to make their night interesting. Seeing you two go together again, just like all those times before.
Jooheon's been waiting for this since he saw on your social media that you were leaving the city. And Jasmine took care of letting him know that you would be coming back in about 6 months.
That was a year ago. More than 365 days waiting to be in the same room with you. Praying that you would let him talk to you. Not that you would reject him. But he was scared, he was perfectly aware he messed up everything.
As you were both saying goodbyes to your friends, you started to think about how everything had ended between you two.
You know what? Yes, maybe I was wrong in ghosting him but after all, I don't owe him anything. Just like he threw me out of his life two years ago. We didn't work out, he never communicated with me. He didn't choose me back. I just had to watch him get rid of me, no explanations, no nothing. And I find it really hard to believe that he's been dying to talk to me. What could be so important that he wants to have a proper conversation? How will I explain to him that I stopped replying for no particular reason? That I just realized that we weren't good together, and I had to let go of him? Should I tell him that no matter my hard feelings, I still thought about him constantly?
You had left each other in the cold back then.
He called your name, and you snapped back to reality. Didn't even realize you were already outside of the bar when he softly asked you, "aren't you cold?"
You smirked and told him "Well yeah, walking back home in this weather wasn't in my plans dummy, but I didn't bring a jacket though".
He used to be so attentive to you. One of the other things you used to love about him. Always concerned about you.
He simply put his jacket around you and started walking before you could complain about something as simple as this. Like you always did.
It feels nice to know that someone in this world knows you to this extent. The way you’ll react to simple things. How can you still love someone despite knowing that you don’t work together?
You realized he still has this jacket. It's the same one he gave me the first night we spent together. Why do I have to remember this now? Not fair. Maybe he wore it on purpose.
You gave a little run to catch him. Now that you were by his side, you were getting impatient, "Can you please start talking? I'm intrigued by all your seriousness".
You were kind of hating this feeling. Everything about him felt familiar. Suddenly, you wanted to cling your arm to his but thought twice about it.
He chuckled. "Well it's not super serious, I want us to have a nice conversation, you know?" You snorted at this, what does a nice talk mean?
"I can be nice, as long as you tell me WHAT you wanna talk about…", "come on Jooheon, just get to the point".
"Okay!! OKAY… I-" he took a deep breath and continued, "First of all, I want to apologize to you for everything, then I want us to talk about what happened between us if that's okay with you?"
You'd be lying if you didn't say that you wanted this to happen since you drew apart the first time. You always dreamt of having an adult conversation with him.
But the dream left your mind bit by bit. Just like your heart got itself back together after he left you, piece by piece.
Overwhelmed, you could only stare straight ahead into the street. He called your name again. Now your eyes were on his, and you could see his concerns. How his mind was going miles per hour, just like yours.
"I want to apologize too,” you smiled and finally let yourself link arms with him. “It’s gonna take us a while, isn’t it?”.
The walk to your apartment took around 15 minutes. The words you exchanged with Jooheon were kept to a minimum. You weren’t gonna get into the heavy stuff right there in the street.
When you finally arrived, you gave him back his jacket. It was gonna get uncomfortable to talk with him with a piece of clothing that made you remember too much.
“Want something to drink? I have a beer, wine, you name it”. He sat on your couch while you searched for something non-alcoholic in your little fridge. “A beer would be okay”.
You got yourself some water. Otherwise, your head would be fuzzy, and wouldn’t be able to tell him all you’ve had on your mind for years.
You handed him the bottle, and you took your seat on the carpet. Your mind wandered off to the last time he was in here.
When he told you goodnight and planted a soft kiss on your lips like he always did. You knew it wasn’t a simple ‘good night’, for you.
You remembered how your eyes followed him until he closed the door of your apartment.
He took a swig of his drink and by the time he put the bottle on your little coffee table, it made you realize he was sitting right there, in front of you.
Finally, gathering the courage to start telling you what was on his mind. “I never thought I’d get the chance to talk to you again”.
I didn’t think so, either. We both fucked up multiple times.
──────────────────────
You were never a couple. After 5 years, you never understood what had lacked between you. The desire was there. Now and then you had your moments of happiness. Usually on the weekends.
When you met, you weren’t looking for love or a serious relationship. At least one of you.
Jooheon was free, like the wind or like a bird. He flew back and forth and once in a while he needed to land somewhere for a while. Every so often he sought another fire, another bed, other arms that weren’t yours.
The time came when he made you feel a million things inside. Overwhelmed with words and emotions, mostly love. But also turmoil and maybe desperation.
It made you happy that he made you feel so much after being empty for months. You felt different with him. It was the kind of love you didn’t know you had in you. Didn’t even think it was possible to express about someone like this. Until him.
You didn’t need anyone else. You just needed Jooheon. Not only that, but you didn’t care for how long your love would last because you believed that the meaning of the word love was what you had built together.
A few hours together. Every so often the whole night.
But when the morning came, the nightmare started to take form. Texts at inappropriate hours, and even unanswered messages.
You started thinking that you didn’t know better. You started feeling insecure. Replaceable. Maybe he knows better than to be with me.
Desperate to know what you had. But afraid that you would ruin everything with the words “What are we?”.
Tried to convince yourself that all of this was okay. That it was a good thing that you were going slow, giving him the chance to open up to you.
Months kept passing and your trust in him was running thin. He made you feel weird on the daily. Wondering if he was seeing someone else. If he danced with someone tonight. Had they kissed? Is he having sex with someone who isn’t me? What if he’s tired of me?
You wanted to be with him, but It was starting to hurt.
I hate that when I try to get myself to think that I don’t like you anymore… you do these little things that make me love you.
When you were together, he treated you like there was no one else for him. His hand was always wrapped up in yours. Talking until dawn, about college, his family, and your relationship. Those times, you couldn’t lie to yourself about your feelings.
He was the only face you could see in the world. The only guy you’ve ever wanted to keep around. But how did we get to this point?
The day you told him you were starting to fall in love with him, all he could reply was, “I don’t know what to say, I never thought you would be in love with me”.
“That’s all you have to say?”
“Well what do you want me to say? You took me by surprise”.
“You could tell me how you feel. I’m not expecting for you to tell me you love me back, I-“
There’s no return now, you have to keep talking.
“I’m just tired of not knowing what’s in your head, I’m not sure if you want to have something with me anymore, it’s okay if you don’t so, just be honest with me”.
“I like you”. You stayed quiet after hearing this, urging him to tell you more than just three words.
“I mean, of course, I’m attracted to you”.
At that moment, you liked what you heard. But the more you thought about it, you realized that he didn’t actually care for you, or loved you. Maybe that was a greedy thought from you. Maybe you expected too much.
You were angry but mostly angry at yourself.
Why are you still waiting for him? It's been years and nothing has happened between you. Nothing ever will at this point.
You ended up telling him not to bother you again, that if this was his way of ‘loving’ you, you were better off without it.
But that was a lie, you longed for your phone to show his name, even if it was at 5 A.M. Still thinking that there was no other way to love someone.
Unable to put an end to it, months kept passing and nothing changed between you. Jooheon had many others, and you only had him.
You loved spending nights like this by his side, watching him sleep, wondering for hours about you two. Unable to explain how you could love him this much.
Maybe he did love you, but you can’t handle this kind of love anymore. It’s better for both of you to end this, whatever it was because it's driving you crazy. And you meant it this time.
Jooheon told you goodnight and planted a soft kiss on your lips like he always did.
You knew it wasn’t a simple ‘good night’ for you, this was the last time you were gonna let him in. Your eyes followed him until he closed the door of your apartment. Fighting back your tears while softly saying to yourself, “I’m always going to love you…”.
The texts at 5 A.M. came again, but this time there was no answer. Jooheon started calling and sending texts for days, but you didn’t reply. All your efforts in disappearing from him on social media weren’t stopping him.
He met someone else, yet the texts wouldn’t stop. Until one day they did.
Now and then your curiosity would get the best of you and you would see his Instagram stories with her. An older girl you had met once. They were supposed to be friends.
You wanted to avoid comparing yourself to her but, he never posted something with you. It’s a dumb thing to worry about, but it’s one of those things that sometimes matter.
You tried to understand the whole situation. Accept the fact that you two weren’t meant to be. That he didn’t see a future with you.
Your days stopped revolving around him. You focused your time on getting your degree, learning another language, going out with your friends. Even tried meeting new people.
There were a few here and there. No one was enough for you.
Your ideas of love and relationships were different now. You gave another meaning to the word love. You wanted to find someone who would love you and take care of you. A quiet kind of love, real love.
What you had with Jooheon, was something you never wanted to experience again. Days went by, even months until you saw each other once more; for the first time in Jooheon’s life, he felt a knot in his stomach, he knew he lost you, for good this time.
Months passed and Jooheon left his girlfriend. He now felt different because he looked for you in everyone, yet he couldn’t find you, and he felt empty.
He cursed himself a thousand times for not knowing how to appreciate you and the love you gave him for two whole years. Tears finally fell from his eyes, he couldn’t believe he was crying for someone, crying for love, crying for you.
He took his phone out, swallowed hard, and started typing another text.
“I miss you, and I need you with me now and always, I never thought I would say this, but I’m not happy without you. Maybe I should’ve loved you less and loved you better, I just want you to know that I’ll always be waiting for you my sweet y/n…”
But the message was never delivered. You had changed your number.
It made sense that you would do that someday. It’s been too long, but this didn’t stop him from sending you texts in the middle of the night. When he felt the overwhelming need to have his arms wrapped around you.
──────────────────────
I still love you
(9:05 p.m.)
no, I don’t
(9:06 p.m.)
I’m confused why did this happen
(2:26 a.m.)
I want you to be happy, if this is what it takes then I’m okay with it. be happy. for me. please.
(10:45 a.m.)
I kind of hate you for changing your number
(8:57 p.m.)
I’m sorry
(1:43 a.m.)
maybe if I wasn’t so fucked up this wouldn’t have happened
(3:37 a.m.)
why can’t things be like they were before
(10:13 a.m.)
please come back to me. I need you. You need me
(1:58 a.m.)
I still want you
(4:06 a.m.)
──────────────────────
The day you left town was the day he swore to himself to try his best to get another chance to talk to you, just once more. To make things right, not caring anymore about his pride. He just wanted to let you know everything he didn’t say when you were by his side.
That he was sorry that it took him too long to acknowledge he was wrong. That he knew he was a little too late and wishes that he could say something more meaningful than a simple “I want you back”.
──────────────────────
“I wonder why” You smirked at him.
The more you kept making eye contact, the more you realized you didn’t feel any kind of resentment anymore. You both had grown, and while you didn’t actually need this kind of closure, you figured this was the healthiest moment to do so.
His eyes were avoiding you now, his smile was still there, but you could tell he lost a bit of his confidence. “Okay, so I’m gonna talk first, please just hear me out. I want to rip the band-aid,” He said with a forced laugh.
“I don’t know why I could never tell you that love scares me. That it scares me to be attached to someone”. His tone was soft now.
“I still play in my head the day you told me you were falling in love with me. I couldn’t bring myself to tell you not to tell me those things because you could have changed your mind any moment”.
“I never told you how I felt one of the many nights you spent with me. You were stroking my hair and I seriously felt like crying because I was fucking scared”.
“I was scared to lose you”.
“I’m sorry because I know I made you think I didn’t want you for something serious. I’m sorry for being immature”.
“I look at you now, and I’m happy to get to see you like this. You’re still everything I’ve ever wished for and more. You need to know that nothing compares to you”.
“And believe me, I don’t expect you to take my words as a way of asking you for another chance, I know I don’t deserve it… but I would really love it if you could let me show you I could love you better this time”.
You never imagined these words coming out of his mouth. Couldn’t believe how he was looking at you. Hopeful but understanding at your loss for words.
“Can I ask you one last thing?” His voice was barely audible, but you nodded at him.
“Well, maybe it’s not an actual question, but I’d like to know why you stopped talking to me”.
“Look Jooheon, I don’t know how everything I wanna say will come out, so please bear with me”.
You didn’t know where to start, either.
There were so many things to be said that you were getting nervous to start talking. Because once you opened your mouth, you didn’t know if you would be able to piece everything together.
“When everything ended I really wanted to hate you, everyone around me hated you,” you admitted to him, “except for me and I hated that”.
“I knew that all I could be able to do was cut you from my life, so I just decided to stop talking to you”.
It may sound harsh, but it’s the truth. “I admit it was a poor way of handling things, and I’m sorry for that”.
You’ve always been scared of having this type of conversation.
You let out a sigh because you never thought that the following words were gonna come out of your mouth, ever.
“I’ve only been in love once in my life, and that was when I was with you”.
“It used to frustrate me that I wasn’t able to make it work with anyone after you. I couldn’t help but compare everyone to you”.
“I swore to myself that I never wanted to go through the same thing we had, maybe because those memories are yours and I don't want anyone else messing that up, you made me feel so safe, I felt alive with you, nothing could stop me when I had you”.

“You've been the only one I've ever wanted to see every day, no matter the hour or how busy I was, I truly wanted everything with you”.
You hadn’t noticed how he had been looking at you this entire time. He couldn’t believe that you used to feel that way about him. Still couldn’t wrap his head around hearing you say how you loved him.
You quickly wiped a tiny little tear that escaped your eye, hoping we wouldn’t notice. But he did.
You let out a nervous laugh and said, “I’m not sad, I swear, It’s just that I never thought I would say all this out loud, especially to you”.
“You don't know how many times I wanted to call you, run to you”.
“Last year before I left I wanted to see you, I kept trying to convince myself that It didn't have to mean anything, that I was just desperate for any physical touch, but from time to time, I wonder if what I really needed was just you”.
He didn’t say anything. So you just said his name out loud. “Jooheon…” Followed by a long pause.
“I feel so different now”.
“When I was far away from you, I realized that I need someone who isn’t absent when it comes to me, someone that isn’t a ghost in my life”.
While you were talking, you were watching his every move and how he couldn’t stop playing with his rings. You’re still not used to seeing him act like this.
“At this point, I want someone who will take care of me, that makes me feel safe. Someone who wants to be with me because they love me, and they love to have me next to them. I’m beyond only spending the night over, I want whole days”.
You finally got up from the floor and sat next to Jooheon. Facing him, making him do the same. He kept looking at you for a whole minute but it felt like hours.
You didn’t know what to do after his following words.
“What I realized with being away from you is that I was pushing away what I’ve always wanted. I wasn’t confident that I could meet you where you were. I felt it would be better not to waste your time back then, but that was then, and this is now…”
You kept looking at each other a little too long. Both realizing you didn't need words anymore. The love was still there.

Okay, but imagine this. All class 1A ( except Mineta, fuck that bitch) at vigilantes
React to this, is an order
LET ME PLEASE EXPLAIN YOU HOW MUCH I LIKE A DECADENCE ARC THAT ENDS IN THE MIDDLE.
The story begins with a beautiful world and a weak protagonist that wants to be a hero but he cans, because life is unfair.
Somehow, he happens to be the chosen one instead. That's how he finds himself a mentor and begins to walk the path to his glorious victory.
He meets a bunch of wonderful and interesting people, that are good but he trains and trains until he becomes better.
HOLD ON. ISN'T THIS THAT TYPE OF STORY?
Apparently no.
The story switches the point of view, until you're seeing things happen from everyone's pov EXCEPT the protagonist.
You already knew that life was unfair. We told you that. However, you decided to ignore it because the protagonist got a little lucky.
Izuku drops out the whole UA thing when All Might falls into a coma after using his power in the USJ accident. Izuku runs away because All Might told him to do so. No one can protect him, so he needs to dissappear until he's ready to face AFO.
Oh, but let's have some fun. Let's imagine that something goes wrong with Doc Ujiro and AFO goes into a coma too.
And now let's imagine that Aizawa finds out about the whole Kurogiri-Oboro thing during the USJ attack, because he dlsaw Shirakumo's face when 13th was stopping Kurogiri.
Aizawa and Kurogiri fight one dayin secret, because Kurogiri was looking for his old friend. Turns out finding Aizawa had messed with Kurogiri's memories and he was there when the big accident happen in Doc Ujiro's lab. Now he's finally free of AFO's will and he's asking Aizawa for help, because he needs to save Tomura.
They come up with a plan: Aizawa is gonna help Tomura heal and Kurogiri is going to help hide Izuku. When AFO wakes up, Tomura will trick him into giving him his quirk, and then Izuku will kill AFO. They'll later find a way to destroy AFO's quirk and free Tomura of the burden.
How exactly are they going to convince the kids to do that? Well, Aizawa agrees to help them build a new order in the hero society, but they need to do things protecting the people.
Izuku moves on with Tomura and Kurogiri and the decaying-bunny vigilante duo begins.
Life is ugly, dangerous and full of misery.
Tomura and Izuku try to recruit Stain, but they fail. When Stain attacks Ingenium and Iida goes after him, it's Tomura and Izuku who appear in time to help Iida kill Stain. And so the decadence arc of the class 1a begins.
Ochaco and Shoto go next, after the sport festival. Izuku convinces them after telling them the truth about AFO, and because the UA stopped Ochaco's fight for being a girls and Shoto is done of people idolizing his father. Tsuyu goes with them but only because she's worried and someone needs to keep their feet on the ground.
So the Dekusquad just leaves the UA. Endeavor is angry as fuck but Shoto threats him with making public that his an abusive man and he shuts up. The rest of them explain to their parents that they don't feel safe at that school and create a whole farse of going to study abroad. Liars liars. Kurogiri now has more kids to care about.
Of course Aizawa knows about this and he's worried, but he doesn't want the kids facing the consequences before their plan is done. This is becoming a big mess.
Besides, Doc Ujiro has created his own team and he's planning something shady. Kurogiri and Aizawa doesn't know what it is but they don't like it.
The summer camp happens. When the Vanguard Squad attacks class 1a, Kurogiri also teleports the Dekusquad to them. Apparently Doc Ujiro was after a certain woman with a certain quirk. Tomura can't really do nothing, or Doc is gonna find out about their plan.
The Dekusquad gets to explain the situation to his classmates and they get to talk with some members of Vanguard Squad, convincing them of telling Doc Ujiro to make Tomura their leader.
They do kidnap Bakugo, but only for Izuku to find a way to explain everything to him. They need his friends at UA to help them with information and covering them up. Bakugo agrees but only because if Izuku dies, he would be unable to prove he's better than him.
"The League of Villains" is created by Tomura, who promises his members to change society but explains why they can't follow AFO. Toga stays around because she has a crush on Izuku and Ochaco. Twice and Compress stay because Kurogiri has some interesting plans, Dabi stays because he's curious about Shoto being a vigilante and Spinner and Magne stay because they wanted to be vigilantes anyway, not completely villians.
All Might, who has woken up, tries to go rescuing Bakugo to ask him if he knows where is Deku. AFO appears just in time, too. They only reason the Dekusquad success to hide is because the some members of the class 1a and class 1b were there to rescue them too, so they hides the Dekusquad and helped Bakugo get out of there. All Might saw Deku tho, but he quickly understands what Deku wants to say by shaking his head.
All Might and AFO fight. He does the whole painting out at the camera and everything. The problem is that AFO took Tomura and the League away, including Kurogiri, but at least now AFO is in Tartarus.
Aizawa confesses everything to All Might and they find a way to hide the kids at the dorms, with the rest of class 1-A. Deku faces All Might and tells him he's going down a different road. He can do this legally, unless they want the whole world to know about him. All Might accepts his decision.
Toga stays with them, tho. Using her quirk, she finds a way to prevent the other people at UA to find out about the whole deal. And since class 1-A and class 1-B are both involved, it's a big messes of vigilantes kids taking turns on their duties.
Things get more and more complicated with time.
Tomura has Doc Ujiro breathing down his neck. Mic follows Aizawa one day and find out about him working with the enemy. Kurogiri needs to teleports them somewhere so they can quickly explain everything to Mic before going back. Mic and Aizawa need to capture Kurogiri to protect their secret.
The Overhaul arc happens but it's Deku accidentally running into Eri while he's doing vigilante work. Also when Twice finds out about Overhaul, he takes him to Tomura but Magne doesn't die, because Dabi was there to help. Instead, Tomura asks Toga to send a message to Aizawa, to explain him the situation with the quirk erasing bullets. Deku, Tomura and Aizawa create a three parts plan to take Overhaul down.
Bakugo forces All Might and Deku to accept him as a fake sucessor, just in case. So All Might sends Bakugo to work with Nighteye and Mirio. It works, so it's Bakugo the one who reports about Eri. Kendo and Momo work with Ryukyu instead of Ochaco and Tsuyu. Kirishima stays.
Toga and Twice help the kids when they reach Overhaul's hide out and Aizawa let's Toga stab him to make things more real. Meanwhile, Compress helps the Dekusquad reach the building. They're using new suits to hide their identities, but it's a high risk and they know it.
Nighteye gets hit with an erasing quirk bullet, courtesy of Lady Nagant, who has been working with the League because I say so. Kidding, she was never in Tartarus because she's a vigilante too.
The only pro-heroes to reach Overhaul are Nighteye and Aizawa. When the first one passes out and Mirio gets away with Eri, the Dekusquad, Toga, Twice and Bakugo gets in to fight Overhaul. Aizawa doesn't get slowed down by Chronostasis and no one gets to help Overhaul, because they're all too busy fighting Tsuyu, Iida and Ochaco.
Between Bakugo, Deku and Aizawa, they find a way to capture Overhaul. Lady Nagant hits him with the bullet erasing quirk and she escapes along with the rest. Aizawa and Bakugo are left to explain the mess.
I have a lot more to say but this getting to long and going no where. Only know I realize I should have done tiny headcanons instead of a whole ass story. I apologize for my behavior. But this is exactly how my brain works.
Should I create more headcanons about this specific world or nah? It all depends on you guys. If you want them, I can do it. If not, let's leave it at here.

“Hy guys!” Everybody cheers as Chris Harrison enters the guest house. “Last week things got a little heated on the cocktail party.” Looks are exchanged between the men in the room. “I just want to remind you what you’re here for. You are here to win Y/N’s love and you won’t get that by bickering at each other.”
They nod, clearing their heads and focussing on the main goal, you.
“This week we’ll have our usual 2 one-on-one dates and a group date. Remember that if you don’t receive a rose by the end of the individual dates you will go straight home. As for the group date, there’s the possibility to earn that rose and be safe from the ceremony. This week two of you will be going home.”
Some faces get nervous, others get excited with the chance of finally scoring that one-on-one date with you.
“As for me, I’ll get going. See you at the rose ceremony. Good luck!”
As Chris leaves the room, the familiar siren is heard and all eyes focus on the TV.
Nothing feels better than the wind running through your hair as the sun makes your skin glow and the feeling of the world at your feet.
Eyes widen across the room wondering what could that possibly mean.
Jeno, I hope you like being outdoors, because we’re about to go on a chill ride.
The chosen bachelor smiles proudly at the opportunity to spend more alone time with you.
“Congratulations boy!” Jaemin pats Jeno’s back as the gang disperses.
“Thanks man.” The bright smile never leaves Jeno’s face. “I’m so excited for this I don’t even care what we’re doing!”
“It will definitely be something outside.” Taeyong mentions. “Maybe you’re going on a boat ride or something.”
“That would be dope!” Johnny adds.
“Whatever it is, I’m just glad it’s finally happening.” Jeno comments.
“Can’t wait for my turn…” Taeyong sighs.
-
The next day Jeno gets ready to meet you, wearing casual sporty clothes. He enters the car that’s waiting for him outside the guest house and heads off to the city. A lot of thoughts are going through his head along with the exhilarating feeling of getting to spend some time alone with you.
The vehicle comes to a stop in front of a park. A smile grows on his face as he sees you in a pair of biker shorts and an oversized shirt standing between two bikes.
"Hi Jeno.” You greet him matching the delighted expression on his face.
"Hey Y/N. Are we going somewhere?" He points to the bikes.
"It's such a sunny warm day I thought we could go for a ride, what do you think?"
"Sounds great to me!"
You smile handing him his helmet. He puts it on his head and then helps you with yours. The weather is already quite hot but your cheeks are now burning with his closeness.
"Ready?" You ask him as you get on top of your bike.
"Always." He winks and you chuckle as you two start your journey.
You ride through the park at a bland pace, side by side, taking in your surroundings. The lake sparkles as rays of sunshine hit the surface, the grass is as green as it can be swaying with the light breeze, the laughter of the children playing around filling the air and the warmth of the love shared by young couples all around putting a shy smile on your faces.
"Looks like this is a romantic destination." Jeno looks at you with a smirk.
"Why do you think I brought you here?" You wink and ride ahead.
"Wait for me!" He chuckles trying to catch up with you.
You take a few turns around the park and then you guide him to the street. He looks at you confused.
"Where are we going?" He asks from behind having to ride like this now as the bike lane is quite narrow.
"I have a surprise for us, do you trust me?" Your joyful face as you take a quick glance over your shoulder gives him all the reassurance he needs.
"I trust you."
You ride through the city streets heading to less busy roads. You start to go up the hill and even though he has to pedal extra hard Jeno's able to place himself back by your side where he's happy to be.
As you get to a viewpoint he stops admiring the city that seemed so small from up there. He was caught by the beautiful sight until his trance was broken by the sound of your voice.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to join me?"
He looks at you and gasps at the scenario. There's a blanket on the grass and a picnic basket where you already took out some drinks and food from. Your bike rests against a tree and you sit on the floor patting the spot next to you for him to take.
He places his bike next to yours and then sits down. You look at each other for a few seconds before you break eye contact biting your lip.
"You must be thirsty." You grab a bottle of water and turn to him.
"Very much." He says in a teasing tone as he grabs the bottle, hand lingering over yours before he opens it to drink.
You try to hide the smile that insists on showing in your face and prepare two plates of food for you. You eat and talk while watching the busy city that looked so small and meaningless at this very moment.
After the talk you had at the group date two weeks ago you've been eager to spend more time with Jeno. You loved his approach, the way he makes you laugh and how comfortable he feels when it's just the two of you because you sure notice how quiet he gets when everybody else is around. Talking to him today just confirms that his personality is as interesting as his looks that take your breath away.
-
Back at the guest house things are getting heated.
“You came to apologise?” Hendery asks.
“Apologise for what?” Renjun scoffs.
“You gotta be kidding me.” Hendery shakes his head in annoyance.
“Dude, I don’t know what you’re talking about, you made all that fuss for nothing!” Renjun continues in a mocking tone that only makes the other more upset.
“For nothing?” Hendery can’t believe what he’s hearing. “You saw me walking to her and got in the way!”
“What? I didn’t that on purpose, it just happened.” Renjun tries to excuse himself.
“Oh yeah? What about that first day when I was talking to her and you came out of nowhere and took her?” Hendery is starting to lose his patience. “And Jeno told me how you did the same thing to him at the group date after the soccer game. Don’t play the victim now!”
“I’m not playing the victim, I just take every opportunity I can get, maybe you should do the same.” Renjun winks and Hendery almost jumps on him before he’s stopped by Jaehyun.
“What are you guys doing, are you crazy?” He asks.
“Are you two still going at it?” Yuta rolls his eyes.
“I’m not about to go home because this idiot keeps cutting me off!” Hendery says glaring into Renjun’s eyes.
“Maybe you should both just leave because clearly you’re more interested in fighting each other than winning her love!” Haechan shouts getting annoyed with the whole situation.
Before anyone could say anything else the siren is heard and they head inside. The bachelors make sure that the two protagonists of the fight sit away from each other.
Last week you showed me your looks, but now my question is: do you have moves?
Eyebrows are raised in confused expressions.
If you don’t see your name on the screen don’t worry, you can show me what you got in two days.
Fingers cross anxiously waiting for the names to pop up on the screen.
Johnny | Taeyong | Yuta | Doyoung | Jaehyun | Hendery | Renjun | Haechan | Jaemin
See you tomorrow!
“Shotaro, that’s you!” Yuta congratulates the boy as he still can’t believe it will finally be his turn. This is finally his time to prove himself to you and step out of the background.
-
"So, a little bird told me you play the guitar?" You question Jeno as you finish eating.
"That little bird seems to be accurate." He chuckles.
"Would you play me something?" You raise your eyebrow.
"I would love to, if only I had a guitar with me..." His face drops feeling like he missed a great opportunity to impress you.
"By all means," Jeno's eyes follow your moves as you get up and reach behind the tree where the bikes are at. "look at what I found here."
His face brightens up as you hand him a guitar that you had hidden there from the beginning. While he checks if the guitar is in tune, placing the strap over his shoulder, you put away the rest of the food placing the basket on the side to free up the space on the blanket.
"Any special requests?" He asks as you sit settled down in front of him.
"Surprise me." You tell him with a smile.
"Ok, I got it."
He places his fingers on the strings and with the first chords you instantly recognise the song.
"I've tried playin' it cool
But when I'm lookin' at you
I can't ever be brave
'Cause you make my heart race"
You bite your lip as you listen carefully to his beautiful voice.
"Shot me out of the sky
You're my kryptonite
You keep making me weak
Yeah, frozen, and can't breathe"
A smile rests on his lips as he keeps playing.
"Something's gotta give now
'Cause I'm dying just to make you see
That I need you here with me now
'Cause you've got that one thing"
He lifts his gaze to you as he sings the chorus.
"So get out, get out, get out of my head
And fall into my arms instead
I don't, I don't, don't know what it is
But I need that one thing, and
You've got that one thing"
As the last note fades into the nature sounds you clap.
"That was beautiful, Jeno. Thank you."
"Thanks." He looks down embarrassed and puts the guitar away.
You shift on your sit facing the city view and he scoots over sitting next to you. You sit there in a comfortable silence, your legs lightly touching making your heart beat faster.
You move your gaze to his face. The orange sunlight enhances his handsome features and you forget about everything else around you.
Feeling your eyes on him he turn his head to look at you and you gulp at the proximity of your faces. His gaze drops to your lips and slowly he leans his head towards yours giving you time to stop him if you wan to. But you don't want to, so you close your eyes and let his lips touch yours. You lift your hand to his cheek silently tell him it's ok and he smiles into the lovely kiss you're sharing.
After a while he leans back and you hide you face on his shoulder. He caresses your hair and leans his head against yours making sure to register this moment on his mind.
As the sun sets you get up and pack everything returning to the park to catch your ride to go back.
In the car the mood is as romantic as before between giggles and caresses. It feels right to share this moment with Jeno, you almost forget there are 10 other guys trying to win your heart.
The vehicle comes to a stop between the guest house and the mansion and you hold his wrist before he opens the door.
"Before we go, there's something I want to ask you."
"Anything." He smiles.
"Do you accept this rose?"
"Oh," he lets out a relieved sigh, "of course I do."
You happily pin the rose to his shirt.
"There's something I want to ask you too." He says with a cheeky smile.
"What is that?" You question curiously.
"Can I kiss you again?" You chuckle.
"Yes you can."
He leans in taking your lips again. This was a more confident kiss, passionate but still soft. When you pull apart you exit the car and give a warm hug before you split.
-
The following day the men exit the house leaving Jeno and Shotaro behind. The mood still feels a bit off after the argument of the day before so there isn’t a lot of talking until the driver stops. As they get out of the vehicle some of them cheer being in front of a dance studio.
They get in and automatically their jaws drop as they see you inside one of the rooms dancing to a modern RnB in a pair of leggings and a loose cropped shirt. Their eyes followed your every move around the room impressed by your flow and technique.
Once the music ends and your movements stop at the final pose the bachelors clap and whistle. You bow with a smile, even though you’re breathing heavily, and signal them to gather around.
“Hi guys, what did you think of my performance?”
“Amazing!”
“Awesome!”
And some other supportive words are heard around.
“I’m glad you like it but now it’s your turn!” Surprised expressions are seen on their faces. “Music and dance are two things I could never leave without so I need my man to be able to know how to move their body.”
You wink and they chuckle.
“You’ll be split in 3 teams of 3. Each team will chose a song and come up with a choreography for it to present to me.”
You see some scared faces around.
“I will then choose my favorite routine and the lucky team will join me for dinner. How’s that for motivation?”
The guys cheer and it’s your time to chuckle.
“Alright so I have a bag with numbers. You’ll each pull out one to decide the teams.”
You walk to the first boy in line as he pulls out a number from the bag.
“3.” Hendery says checking the number on his hand.
You move along the line, everybody reaching for a number.
“3.” Yuta nods at the first guy knowing they will be on the same team.
“1.” Jaemin grabs a different number.
“2.” Taeyong starts a new team.
“1.” Johnny joins Jaemin.
“2.” Renjun says and everybody feels relieved he and Hendery didn’t end up on the same team.
“3.” Haechan joins the first two boys.
“2.” Jaehyun completes the second team.
“1.” They all laugh as Doyoung pulls out the number from the bag even though it was clear what team he was in.
“So to recap team 1 is Jaemin, Johnny and Doyoung, team 2 is Taeyong, Renjun and Jaehyun and team 3 is Hendery, Yuta and Haechan.” You announce. “I will give you some time to choose your songs and prepare a small choreography. Good luck!” You blow them a kiss and leave the room.
The teams gather around and start planning. Some opinions clash in terms of concept however they decide to compromise and ultimately just come up with something nice and easy that will be sure to impress you.
After a while you come into the room and ask the boys if they’re ready to present their choreographies. With positive replies team 1 gets in position and the other teams sit on the floor next to you.
“Whenever you’re ready.” You say and they signal you to press play.
Love Yourself by Justin Bieber starts playing and you are surprised they chose a calm song. They move softly at the rhythm of the music and your eyes are drawn to Jaemin, not that Johnny and Doyoung aren’t doing a great job following the beat but you can’t deny Jaemin just catches your attention wherever he is. He looks straight into your eyes as he moves and again you feel nervous and scare of how he’s able to make your heart flutter like this.
Before you know it the song is over and everybody claps. You clear your throat breaking the trance Jaemin had you under and praise them for a good performance.
“Alright, team 2, you’re up!”
The next team gets in position as the first one sits, Jaemin taking his place right next to you. You look at him and he give you one of his warm smiles that you quickly return before turning your head back to the boys in front of you mentally telling yourself to pay attention.
They signal you to press play and you hear Paris in the Rain by Lauv. The song is chill but with some soft sexy vibes that they definitely take advantage of. Taeyong takes centre leading the other two boys that move accordingly. You love the way he moves, it feels so natural, so smooth, it almost looks as if he didn’t have a choreography and was just following the beat as it came. As you look over to Jaehyun his moves match the other boy but they are more calculated, nevertheless he’s the one who takes more advantage of the sexy vibes of the song and you are living for it. Glancing at Renjun there’s a nice balance between flow and technique, out of the three he’s the one that looks more concentrated careful not to screw up a move.
You all clap as the song comes to his end and you congratulate them on the amazing show they pulled off.
“Last but not least, team 3 the floor is yours!”
You start the music once when they’re ready and Post Malone’s Wow plays. The last team went with a more hip song showcasing modern, cool and trendy moves. Even though Yuta takes the middle place leading the group with his smooth moves you can’t help but look over to Hendery who seems to be made for this sound. The way he moves absolutely catches everybody’s attention in the best way possible and you are very impressed with his skills. You look over at Haechan and are surprised at his focused face that contrasts with his usually bubbly expression.
As they wrap up everybody claps and cheers.
“That’s was great you guys, all of you.” You get up walking to the middle of the room. “But I think I’ve made my decision.”
You leave some suspense in the air amused with the nervous faces in front of you.
“The winners are…” They mimic a drum roll with their hands on the floor making you chuckle before you reveal your answer. “Team 2!”
Taeyong, Jaehyun and Renjun get up jumping and hugging each other in victory. You see a few annoyed faces around but this is a competition after all, they can’t all win.
“Congratulations you three! I’m gonna let you go back and change before we meet for dinner. As for the rest of you, I’ll see you at the cocktail party.” You wink and leave the room going back to the mansion to get changed as well.
-
In the guest house Jeno and Shotaro talk about the dates.
“How are you feeling after getting the rose yesterday?” Shotaro asks.
“Oh man it feels amazing.” Jeno lets out a satisfied breath.
“This is the second time you get a rose before the ceremony right?”
“Yes it is, I got the group one after the soccer game.” Jeno recalls with a smile. “I feel like we’re really connecting now.”
“I really hope I get a rose tomorrow.” Shotaro lowers his head. “I’m always left for the end in the ceremonies and I feel like we’re not bonding like we should you know?” The other bachelor nods. “I see all of you matching up with her and sometimes I think maybe…” He takes a deep breath before he continues. “Maybe I don’t belong here.”
“Oh c’mon don’t say that.” Jeno comforts him. “If she’s keeping you here there must be a reason. She even choose you for the date tomorrow! Don’t give up just yet.”
“I guess you’re right…”
The front door is heard and the boys greet the others as they get back from the group date. The winning team gets ready to meet you for dinner as Jeno and Shotaro hear all about the activity.
-
Taeyong, Jaehyun and Renjun arrive at the restaurant where you stand by a beautiful waterfall wall in a beautiful asymmetrical black dress.
“Hi boys.” You greet with a grin as they eye you up and down clearly enjoying the view. “Are you hungry?” They look up at your face with widen eyes. “I have a table for us, should we go sit?”
They clear their throats as they follow you inside. When you get to the table you order a few drinks and you propose a toast.
“To a great performance!” You clink glasses and take a sip. “In all honesty that was really good, did you all choose the song together?”
“I was actually Taeyong’s idea and we liked it so it we decided to go with it.” Jaehyun explains.
“Nice!” You turn to the mentioned boy. “And did you come up with the choreography as well?”
“We all pinched in on that.” Renjun speaks before Taeyong has a chance to open his mouth.
“Taeyong had a few ideas for it and we added a couple more things.” Jaehyun explains glaring at Renjun. The latter rolls his eyes sipping his drink.
“Regardless, you did a great job.” You look back at Taeyong and give him a reassuring smile.
The food then arrives and the conversation gladly takes a happier turn. You discuss music styles and your favorite songs and artists and you definitely get some good recommendations from the boys. Once the meal is over you all get up and go to the bar area but then you hold Taeyong’s arm leaving him startled.
“Why don’t you guys go ahead and we’ll join you?” You tell the other boys.
Renjun is about to complain but Jaehyun grabs his arm rolling his eyes and dragging him away as you and Taeyong settle at a booth on a corner.
“So should you be taking the credit for the challenge or not?” You ask him with a teasing smile.
“Well, I mean…” He scratches the back of his head in embarrassment. “They did pinch in with some ideas but I guess the foundation was all me.”
“You know Taeyong, you don’t have to be so modest all the time.” You grab his hand. “Don’t get me wrong, I love that about you, I have noticed it before, but sometimes owning your actions can be helpfully specially in a competition like this.”
“You’re right.” He looks at you with a smile. “After all I’m here for you.”
With your own smile you continue talking getting to know each other more. He tells you all about his dance passion and it all makes sense now, the way he danced earlier was just extraordinary.
-
Back at the guest house Shotaro expresses his feelings about the group challenge.
“This week that I have the one-on-one date you guys do a dance competition? Not fair!” He chuckles.
“If only I knew I would’ve swapped places with you in a heart beat!” Hendery comments with a laugh.
“Oh no thanks, I’m good.” Shotaro adds just before the siren is heard. “Speaking of!”
Everybody gathers in front of the TV.
Hi Shotaro, if you are feeling lonely at the house don’t worry because tomorrow we’ll have plenty of company!
The boy raises his eyebrow. Isn’t it supposed to be an individual date? What do you mean more company?
Hope you don’t mind getting a little wet!
“Wow!” Jaemin says with widen eyes.
“What does she mean getting wet?” Doyoung asks around the room as everybody looks surprised.
Shotaro can’t even say anything, too excited for what you have in store for the next day,
-
You and Taeyong rejoin the other boys and after ordering some drinks you decide to take Renjun aside to talk.
“How are you doing?” You ask him.
“Way better now that I’m alone with you.” He smiles coming closer to you.
Any other time you would’ve given his advances a chance but there’s something you need to clarify first, so you take a step back leaving him with a confused expression.
“I wanted to talk to you about the last cocktail party.”
“What do you mean?” He asks and you simply tilt your head signalling you’re not in the mood to play games, you just want to get this out of the way. “Ok, ok. Look Hendery is just jealous that I make an effort to talk to you as much as I can and he gets left behind, that’s it.”
“So you’re saying he’s exaggerating?”
“Of course he is, I don’t even know why we’re wasting time talking about him right now when we should be talking about us instead.”
“I just want you to be more cautious with your actions ok?” He rolls his eyes but you still continue. “I appreciate you making an effort to talk to me and get to know me better but you don’t need to step over the others to do it. I don’t want a bad environment.”
“I’ll try. For you.”
Even though you’re not sure you believe his words you decide to let go of the subject and talk about you two as he suggested. He tries persuading you to get that one-on-one date but you just chuckle and tell him to try harder. You might come to regret this though.
You two come back to the bar and Jaehyun looks at you with his lovely smile planted on his face, dimples showing on his cheeks.
“I’m starting to feel left out in the ‘group’ date.” He does air quotes and you chuckle.
“Let’s not let that be a problem.”
You link you arm with his and take him away to a more private area.
“Did you miss me that much?” You tease him.
“You have no idea.” He tugs a strand of hair behind you ear and you bite your lip.
“I did see you trying to seduce me with your dance earlier.” You playfully push his chest.
“Oh I see.” He smirks. “You were praising Taeyong for the choreography but the real reason we won was because of my sexy moves.”
“I’m not saying it was because of that.” You giggle.
“Well, you’re not saying it wasn’t either.” He winks and you almost melt on the spot.
The teasing mood carries on through the rest of the conversation no matter what subject you’re talking about. If he had come up to you with this smooth talk outside the competition you would’ve totally fell for it. Not the you aren’t right now.
“Maybe we should get back.” You say only now noticing how close you are.
“Do we have to? I could stay right here all night.” He leans in placing a kiss on your cheek dangerously close to your lips.
“Well I wanted to wait until we went back home but I guess I might just do it now.”
Jaehyun steps back looking at you in surprise not sure what you’re talking about. You giggle as you reach inside your purse.
“Do you accept this rose?”
“Oh that!” He lets out a shaky breath. “Of course I do Y/N.”
You pin the rose to his jacket.
“Ok now we can go back.” Jaehyun takes your hand kissing it before pulling you back to the bar.
“Bragging already?” You chuckle.
“Any chance I get.” He winks.
When you get to the bar, Taeyong and Renjun instantly notice the rose on Jaehyun’s chest and groan while the other stands there proud holding you by his side. You finish up your drinks and decide to go back home.
-
The next day Shotaro gets ready in a hurry excited for your date. A car takes him to town and stops in from of what looks like a pet store.
“Hey!” You greet him with a smile.
“Hi Y/N!”
“Ready to meet our company for today?” You ask him and he frowns.
“I’m not sure.”
“C’mon, you’ll love them.” You grab his hand and pull him inside.
You greet the staff and follow one of them through a door that says staff only. His face brightens up as he sees a few dogs barking and wiggling their tails running to you two.
“Aren’t they adorable?”
“So much!” He bends his knees getting to the animals level to pet their fur almost falling as they jump on him in excitement and you giggle.
“These dogs need some loving so I though we could help the girls giving them a bath. What do you think?”
“Yes! That sounds amazing!”
You two follow one of the workers and take two dogs with you. She explains what to do and then leaves you to get down to work.
You follow the girls instructions laughing as the dogs shake their bodies getting water and foam everywhere. You take advantage that you’re already wet to throw some water at Shotaro and he does the same at you getting his revenge.
The place is a mess by the time you’re done but at least the dogs look all fresh and clean after you dry them and brush their fur.
You laugh as you look at each others clothes, there’s no way you two can go anywhere looking like this all drenched.
“Good thing I have some backup clothing for us!” You tell him.
“You did?” Shotaro looks surprised. “Thank you.”
You hand him a bag with his clothes and you get changed in the staff changing room, one at a time of course.
You two head out laughing as he tells you how much fun he had with the dogs. You take him to a small rustic restaurant a few blocks away and sit down at a table by the window.
You continue talking and the conversation is happy and sweet as always with Shotaro but there’s a strange feeling inside you that you can’t seem to shake off. You know what you have to do but it’s one of the hardest things since the show started.
“Are you ok?” He asks you. “You seem kinda down right now. Did I do or say something wrong?”
“No, of course not!” You answer in a hurry. “It’s just…” You sigh, not sure how to say what you want to say.
“What? You can tell me.” He looks at you with a warm smile and that makes things even harder for you. You take a deep breath before you go ahead.
“I’m really enjoying getting to know you Shotaro.”
“Why do I feel there’s a but coming?”
“But…” He sighs waiting for you to continue. “I think we’re building a great friendship and I keep waiting for it to move past that. As the weeks go by I’ve been getting close to some of the guys and it gets harder and harder to send some of you home. But I don’t want to deceive you Shotaro.” You reach out to grab his hand but then pull back not sure this is the right thing to do at this moment. “I’m not sure we’ll ever click. So I guess it’s better to say goodbye for now before things get more complicated.”
You look down trying not to shed a tear.
“Hey.” He takes your hand with both of his and you look back up. “It’s ok. Thank you for being honest with me.”
“I’m sorry.” You bite your lip trying not to get to emotional.
“Don’t be sorry, I knew that sooner or later it would be my time to go. There’s some guys in that house I just can’t compete with, I see the connections you have with them and it’s ok. I’m surprised you let me get this far!” He chuckles which relaxes you a little bit.
“Thank you for being so understanding Shotaro.” You smile at him. “I would love to still be your friend out of this competition because I really think you’re a great guy.”
“I would love that.” He tells you with a smile.
You two walk outside and there’s a car waiting for him. He reaches out and pulls you into a hug before opening the door.
“Thank you for giving me a chance.” He says. “And choose wisely, I hope you find your true love in one of the others.”
“Thank you, I know you’ll find love someday too. You deserve it.”
He smiles and gets in the car and as it drives away a tear rolls down your cheek as a bittersweet smile lingers on your face.
-
The cocktail party starts with one less bachelor. The remaining guys are happy to see you join them but one seems to notice you look a little gloomy so he takes you outside.
“How are you?” Jaemin asks as you two sit down.
“I’m…” You want to keep a strong face to handle the night but all your vulnerabilities come out when you’re with him. “I’m a little sad…”
“Because of Shotaro?” He asks caressing your arm.
“Yes…” You almost whisper. “I know I made the right decision, he’s such a nice guy, I couldn’t keep leading him on knowing I didn’t see him in a romantic way. But it was so hard saying that to his face you know?” Tears build up in your eyes.
“I know Y/N.” His hands goes up to cup your cheek ready to catch any tear that dared to roll out. “But you followed your heart and did what you had to do. I’m sure he appreciated that.”
“He said he did. But it still hurt to do it.”
“This is one of the things I love about you. You always care about what other people are feeling and that’s really impressive. But don’t forget why you do what you do. And don’t be scared to put your feelings first every now and then ok?”
You nod as he stares into your soul. You really can’t explain the connection you have with him and in this moment all you want is for him to lean in and kiss you. His gaze drops to your lips and you feel like maybe he wants the same but instead he gently pulls you to his chest warming you up in his embrace.
After a while a leans back again and cleans your soaked cheeks with his thumbs. You talk a little bit and once you feel composed you head inside.
The next one to pull you aside is Haechan. You take the opportunity to praise his dance skills and how professional he looked compared to his usual relaxed and laid back self. He tells you how much he loves performing and you are delighted to get to know yet another side of this wonderful man that is securing his place on your heart.
You then decide to call Hendery to check in on him being the first time you actually talk alone since what happened last week.
“How are you feeling?”
“Honestly I’m not sure.” He decides it’s better just to let everything out. “I felt better after our talk last week. But then this week we lost the group challenge and again it just feels like I’m loosing all the opportunities to connect with you.”
You look into his eyes and see his struggle but you don’t really know what to say. Noticing your silence he drops his head in defeat.
“I feel like you’re sending me home tonight.”
“Don’t say that please.” You grab his chin making him face you. “I haven’t made my decision yet, this is harder than you know.”
“I’m sorry Y/N.” He starts saying. “Sometimes it’s easier to focus on our own struggles and forget this is hard for you too. But I trust whatever decision you make tonight.”
He gives you a warm smile and you smile back. You decide not to leave things like that and spend sometime getting to know each other more before joining the others.
You mingle with all the boys until Yuta asks for some time with you. You gladly take his hand as he leads to a couch on the side.
“Sorry to call you in like this but I can’t risk you forgetting all about me.” He chuckles.
“How could I ever forget about you after that amazing date last week?” You wink.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it because I sure can’t stop thinking about it.”
“Oh yeah?” You smirk. “Do you like amusement parks that much?”
“I do. But the company made it extra amazing.”
You two keep talking about your previous date and you can’t wait to go out again with him and feel what you felt that day. Yuta knows how to have fun and show you a good time and that’s a big part of what you look for in a man. This is really getting harder and harder, not only to send people home but feeling your self fall for more than one of them.
Before your head starts overthinking Chris steps in the room calling you for some decision making.
-
“This has been an interesting week. It was the first time you did not give out a rose after the one-on-one date. How did it feel to send someone home that way?” Chris asks you as you two sit down upstairs.
“It’s a bittersweet feeling actually. It felt horrible to sit there and tell him I don’t see him as the man for me, but it was also good to actually explain how I am feeling and understand how he felt about it too.”
“Due to that, tonight you’ll only have to send 1 more home. Does that make the decision easier for you?”
“You would think so right?” You both chuckle. “It’s still hard because I don’t want them to feel like I’m singling them out. Even though that’s exactly what I’ll be doing.”
“Do you have an idea of who that person might be?”
“I’m conflicted between 3 of them actually, the others I’m pretty sure I still want to keep around.”
“Well, I’ll leave you to think about it then and as always, trust yourself to make the right decision.”
“Thank you Chris.”
He leaves the room and you carefully stare at the pictures of those 3 you’re conflicted with. You have reasons for each of them to leave and also for them to stay, you just need to think which of them matter the most in choosing the man you want to spend the rest of your life with.
-
You and Chris walk down the stairs and stand in front of the bachelors. This evening Jeno and Jaehyun stay on the side have already earned their rose.
"Good evening everyone. As you know one of you has already left the competition this week as he did not receive the rose on his one-on-one date with Y/N. Jeno and Jaehyun have already secured their rose, therefore tonight 7 roses will be hand out leaving one of you out of the race. Remember that you are in your right to refuse the rose. Good luck."
With that Chris leaves the room.
"Yesterday I had to take one of the hardest decisions so far but it was still hard choosing one more of you today."
You grab the first rose.
"Jaemin."
He smiles brightly walking up to you.
"Thank you for comforting me tonight. Do you accept this rose."
"Absolutely." You pin the rose to his jacket. "I'll always be here for you. Thank you for trusting me."
You nod with a smile as he walks back.
"Yuta."
He looks surprised to be called so soon.
"Do you accept this rose?"
"Of course." He smiles as you pin it. "Thank you."
You grab the next rose.
"Taeyong."
He sighs in relief.
"Do you accept this rose?"
"Yes." You chuckle as you pin the rose. "Thank you so much."
You take one more.
"Haechan."
He does a little happy jump before coming forward.
"Do you accept this rose?"
"Definitely." You pin the it to his jacket. "Thank you."
Another rose is in your hands.
"Johnny."
His face brightens up hearing his name.
"Do you accept this rose?"
"You scared me there for a second. but yes I do." You both chuckle as you pin the rose. "Thank you."
The tension builds up in the room with only 3 man left. You look between all of them and gulp before you announce the next bachelor you choose.
"Hendery."
He lets go of a breath he was holding in.
"I'm not ready to let you go yet. Do you accept this rose?"
"A thousand times yes." You smile as you pin it. "Thank you so so much."
As he walks back Chris steps in the room and you know what that means.
"Last rose Y/N, have you made your choice?" He asks.
"I think so."
He hands it to you and you turn to face the guys again.
"Renjun."
He smiles walking to you.
"I'm giving you another chance, please don't waste it. Do you accept this rose?"
"I do, I promise I'll do better." You pin the last rose. "Thank you."
Chris walks in again.
"That's it for tonight. Doyoung this is not your chance for love. You can say your goodbyes."
The rest of the guys hug him and you stay behind nibbling your lip unsure if this was the right decision. He then walks up to you giving you a hug and whispering something in your ear before he leaves. You are left dumbfounded but decide to ignore the piece of information for now, joining the remaining guys to celebrate.
-
In the next episode:
Doyoung’s message before he left kept you up at night and you need to set things straight.
“I need to know if this is true or not, I think I deserve to know.”
“Do you think he might have made it up because he was upset you sent him home?”
And two more bachelors will loose their chance at love.
”I don’t know what else to do.”
“You seem to have made your mind already.”
“You’re breaking my heart.”
Stay tuned for next weeks episode premiering 11/07.

Ok hear me out. I’ve listened to “Sway with me (slowed)” by Cytus II and I have this whole imagine of the reader at a masquerade ball as an undercover agent, and as The Wammy Bois (preferably L or Near) S/O or crush. Well the situation turns for the worst and L (or near) rushes out into the party (he was originally watching on cams) to get a hold of the situation to either like confront the Bad Guy or just protect the reader. Idk I think about it when I listen to the song. Love your writing btw
Aww thanks anon, I'm glad you like my writing! And damn, I like this one a lot! This calls for a fic. Thanks for requesting! (Not me accidentally making this somewhat like that ball scene in Black Butler.. oof)
For this I chose L and decided not to do Near, I hope that's okay.

The night was young, the sun had only just set below the horizon plunging the city into darkness. At 8PM this night there was a masquerade ball at a very wealthy businessman's mansion. As all the high society guests exited their limousines and luxury cars escorted by servants you stood staring at the lavish mansion.
"I feel so out of place here... Do I really blend in enough?" You quietly asked Watari who stood beside you as your "servant". You shifted uncomfortably and looked to him for an answer.
"Yes, of course you do. You fit in very well. Please do not worry, I'm sure you will be alright in there." He bowed before reentering the drivers seat of the vehicle you'd arrived in. You took a deep breath before carefully ascending the marble stairs leading to he door. Before you could be noticed by anyone in particular, you placed the earpiece you had been provided in your ear disguising it with your hair.
Unlike the other guests, tonight wasn't about enjoyment or entertainment for you. You were assisting with an investigation into one of the high class men attending this party known as Daniel Grant. He had been suspected of human trafficking, though it seems he had been doing more than just that. A recent investigation by the private investigator known only to the public as L suggested that he may potentially be behind multiple murders in the area. As it happens, you were the lynchpin in solving this case and getting the evidence needed to put Daniel Grant and all involved behind bars.
He seemed to target young people between the ages of 18 and 25. As it happens, you were perfect for that role. You were also a police officer. So only two weeks ago, you had been asked to assist the one and only L. Of course, when he contacted you, you were overjoyed. Finally, something more interesting than petty crime! But now, as you entered the lavish mansion you were far less confident than you were when you initially joined.
You knew L was watching the camera feeds from the CCTV system, but it still didn't calm your nerves. You nervously approached the table where the guest sign in book was placed, carefully signing your alias. Then you made your way to the ballroom where the party was held. You took a deep breath and adjusted your mask before entering into the room.
Inside, everyone was chatting amongst themselves every single person dressed very formally, women in beautiful ballgowns, men in fancy suits. Every single one wore a masquerade mask, some plain and simple, some adorned with gemstones, lace and other ornate designs. Everyone went silent when one man tapped his glass with a fork.
"Hello everyone, I'd like to thank you for attending tonight. Thank you all for celebrating my niece's 20th birthday with us" He motioned to a young girl blonde girl wearing a dark pink dress with a black lace mask. Everyone gave a short applause in response. "Please enjoy yourselves" He bowed slightly. You hadn't known this was a birthday party beforehand. You wondered what Daniel Grant had to do with this girl. About 20 minutes into the party, you decided to check in with L as you hadn't heard a thing from him since you arrived. You excused yourself to the bathroom.
"L are you listening?" You asked quietly and waited for a response.
"Yes, I am, is anything wrong?" He asked. You shook your head before you realized he couldn't see you right now, there were no cameras in the bathroom.
"N..No, I haven't seen Daniel yet either... I was just making sure you were there." you hurriedly replied.
"Mmh, I'll guide you to him if you would like, I can see him on the cameras." He replied clearly eating something.
"Okay, please do!" You left the bathroom and reentered the ballroom doing your best to hide the fact that you were scanning the room for the suspect. L's voice came over the earpiece again, this time instructing you to look for a woman in an emerald green dress near the center of the room. You entered the crowd of guests. Your eyes widened slightly when you saw the woman L had been talking about. She was in fact talking to Daniel Grant. They seemed to know each other. You stayed back, waiting for L to say something.
"Seems like you found them, stay back for a little while, I'll tell you when to approach" He said. You of course didn't respond since you were surrounded by others in earshot. You casually checked your pockets and approached another guest making small talk to kill time. You had taken your eyes off of him for a second, and the moment you looked back, the niece was talking to him. L seemed to notice as well.
"Daniel is currently talking to an important innocent. Please intervene now." You looked around the room before casually approaching the two.
"Hello, I came to wish you a happy birthday!" You said, sort of putting yourself between them. She nodded, thanking you and went back to talking with Daniel. You sighed in annoyance, but persisted.
"Hey, could you by any chance show me to the washroom? I've been looking for it and I just can't find it" You asked. She looked at Daniel, excusing herself from their conversation before leading you to said washroom.
"I'm sorry for inconveniencing you... Oh.. and I think it would be best if you stayed away from that man." She gave you a quizzical look.
"Why is that? He's one of my mother's friends." She asked. You were kind of shocked. Another detail L had left out. You questioned if he trusted you before ultimately banishing the thought. Of course he trusted you. You wouldn't be the one confronting the guy if he didn't.
"Just trust me, he's no good" You warned. It was clear that she didn't take your words seriously whatsoever. She scoffed and left. Now what? You wondered. And just like that, L's voice came through again.
"I want you to talk to him, try your best to get him away from her." Immediately you left the bathroom and made your way back to the ballroom again. By now, there were a few people dancing. Unfortunately Daniel seemed to be one of them, but you had a plan. Dance your way to him! You started off with a tall man with a purple tie, then to an average height lady in a light blue dress, then a lady with a fuchsia pink dress, and so on until finally, you were dancing with Daniel.
"You're the person who rudely interrupted my lovely conversation with the guest of honor" He observed. His voice was cold, though there was a tinge of intrigue.
"And what of it?" You sort of snapped. He smirked, it sent chills up your spine. You backed away slightly, but he closed the distance.
"Oooh, I like them feisty" He growled into your ear. You couldn't help your face twisting in disgust at that.
"Why don't we go... somewhere more private" He suggested. It was then that L's voice came on through your earpiece.
"Go with him, I want to see what he'll do" You gulped. You really didn't want to go anywhere with that creep. But L's orders... You nodded and Daniel led you upstairs. You both stood in front of a bedroom door. He opened it, directing you to go inside. As you did, his eyes seemed to undress you. It was then that he took out a dagger holding it to your neck.
Meanwhile, L sat in his temporary investigation headquarters observing your actions. He had just stuck a piece of cake in his mouth when you had been attacked. He had not expected Daniel to be armed. You were in grave danger and he knew it. He immediately stood up, the fork clattered to the ground and the plate the cake had been on shattered as it hit the floor. He didn't care.
"Y/N, hang in there, I'll be there soon" he quickly said to you before rushing to get Watari and speed off to the party. The car ride seemed to take forever. Every second of it, he watched and listened. Daniel seemed to be just threatening you for the time being, but at any second, he might just kill you. The very second they arrived, L clumsily jumped out of the car and rushed up the stairs to the manor, past the guards outside and up another flight of stairs to where you were.
L had for the first time in his life, brought a gun in case things got even more ugly, but he doubted he'd need it. Daniel didn't seem like the type to be bold enough to kill in front of another person. Even so, he gripped the gun before entering.
"Let them go!" L commanded. Daniel's head snapped in his direction.
"Get out, this is none of your business" Daniel said, turning back to you.
"It is my business, that happens to by my significant other you have there." You blinked. Significant other? Is he acting? You thought before mentally reprimanding yourself for thinking that now. L moved a little closer.
"Oh.... She is... I'm sorry" Daniel backed away. It was kind of comical how he looked like a scolded dog. You stood up and walked towards L, glancing back a few times at Daniel to ensure he wasn't going to get violent again. And without another word, L led you out of the manor to safety. Though there was one question burning in your chest. When you were safely in the car you decided to voice it.
"L... Do you actually like me?" L turned to you, his expression was completely unreadable.
"Yes" He said almost monotonously. But that was good enough for you.

and and if its not too much for you then could you do prompts number 19, 17 and 24 for illumi as well? IM SORRY I JUST LOVE YOUR WRITING SO MUCH KSKSKS
Of course I can! 😊
And thank you very much! I'd hug you if I could, anon! 🤗❤️
17. “I’m telling you. I’m haunted.”
19. “She’s hiding behind the sofa.”
24. “Did you just hiss at me?”
A/N: a bit long and a little creepy because I love horror and I’m trying to get into writing it as well (already tried a few times, I want more!). Also, somewhat based on an actual place I’ve heard and read about.
-----
“Illumi, why are we doing this again?” The sight of this supposed haunted house - hospital, actually - made your hair stand on end. There was no one there besides the two of you from what you could tell. Except for the actors inside.
“Hisoka recommended me this since it’s Halloween.” You looked wary at the mention of Hisoka’s name. That was never a good sign. The fact that there was also no one to greet you when you arrived and the fact that the appointment and payment had to be done online unsettled you as well. Illumi didn’t really bat an eye, apparently. Well, when did he, really?
“Aaaaaand you thought that just because of that, it was a good idea to go through with it?”
“Hisoka is also participating, he told me so yesterday.” You only hummed, not really believing him. Until you didn’t see him, you wouldn’t believe that Hisoka was there. You looked at the building again, seeing some broken windows, some barred ones and some that were, strangely, still intact. At one point, you thought you saw someone looking at you from one of the windows on the third floor. But when you looked better, you didn’t see anything except for a torn curtain moving from the breeze that was entering through the broken window.
Illumi and you called Hisoka several times and even texted him, but you got no response. Probably fed up and also curious, Illumi took your hand in his and you both entered the building. Decay, graffiti, pentagrams, names, 666s, destroyed or unusable furniture, hanging lights or wires, water, mold etc. That’s what greeted you in the hallway/waiting room - you presumed because of a few leftover chairs that weren’t really nailed to the floor anymore. You were pretty sure you’d find pretty much the same thing on the other floors as well. You quickly moved your head when you thought you saw something - or someone - out of your peripheral vision, only to find nothing there. The breeze coming in was making weird sounds echo and gave you chills.
“Illumi, are you sure we should be here? This doesn’t look safe at all.”
“It’s fine.” Well, at least he was helping you keep calm. You looked around, noticing how dark it was despite the broad daylight, which is why you both turned on the flashlights on your phones. Tripping and getting hurt here wasn’t worth it.
You moved through the hallways, peering into several rooms and even going inside some that caught your attention. There weren’t many things left: some patient’s files, diverse papers and documents, vials, cabinets and cupboards with missing doors, IV drips, needles, candy wrappers among other things. And still no sign of Hisoka. When you left another room - probably reserved for the nurses and doctors, judging by the amount of file cabinets that still contained some files and folders about patients and the hospital’s activity - you froze when you noticed quick movement to your right, just around the corner.
   “Illumi?”
   “Hm?”
“There’s a ghost here or something.” You gripped onto his arm, already feeling on edge. Illumi looked at you with a raised eyebrow, silently judging what you’d just said.
“There’s no such thing as ghosts.”
“I’m telling you. I’m haunted. I’ve seen the same thing - or person - three times already! They just disappeared behind that corner!” Illumi looked towards where you were pointing before shaking his head.
“I can’t feel any Aura. There’s no one there.” You felt like bolting. You swore you would if you saw that thing one more time. Illumi’s grip on your hand was tight, keeping you somewhat calm, but not enough. How was he so calm, you couldn’t understand. The journey continued as you both moved to the first floor. Same thing as before, only that there were more patients’ rooms and quite a few metal bedframes left, no sheets, mattresses, pillows or whatever.
You were still a little paranoid, but hadn’t seen or heard anything in a while. You started to relax, only tensing briefly when you went up to the second floor - again, nothing interesting or different from before - before finally reaching the third one. It was starting to get dark, what with all the exploring you’d done and you had a feeling your phone’s battery might die soon.
   “Illumi...?”
   “Yes?”
“This is supposed to be a haunted house of sorts, right?”
   “Yes, why?”
“Where are the actors?” The both of you stopped. You had been so tense and Illumi so curious that none of you had thought about it.
Suddenly, you heard a loud noise in the distance, but the echo made you jump in pure terror. Something clattered to the floor in one of the rooms to your left and Illumi pulled out a few needles. The both of you sensed something, whether it was Aura or bloodlust, you didn’t know. Honestly, you didn’t even want to find out. You just wanted to leave.
Illumi seemed to be just a little bit tense, but still as calm and collected as always as he walked towards the noise, with you trailing behind him and whispering, trying to convince him to just leave it and go. No such luck.
When you heard another noise, quieter, coming from behind you, you remained as still as a statue. There was something or someone right behind you, you could feel it. You couldn’t even call for Illumi, he wasn’t even in front of you anymore, probably in the room where the first sound had come from.
A shrill and loud, ear-piercing scream left your mouth when you felt a cold hand wrap around your neck and you bolted, dropping your phone and running blindly in whatever which way your feet carried you. You could hear nothing else besides the blood rushing to your head and the faint echoes of your scream, still bouncing off the walls, as your eyes were screwed shut and your ears were covered by your hands.
“Hisoka...” Illumi sighed as he picked up your phone, going towards where he felt your Aura coming from. Meanwhile, Hisoka was laughing like a maniac. “Where’s (Y/N)?”
“She’s hiding behind the sofa, in the waiting room.” Hisoka barely managed to speak as he tried not to die from laughing. Illumi only sighed again before going to said location, gently putting his hand on your back as he felt you shivering. You jumped, almost screaming again, before you saw that it was Illumi and you just hugged him, scared out of your mind.
As soon as you calmed down, you, your boyfriend and Hisoka went down each floor until you left the hospital, going towards the car you had taken to drive there.
“(Y/N), I couldn’t help it~ ♦️ Also, I’m sorry~ ♠️” He didn’t sound sorry at all and when Illumi’s arm went around your waist to instead pull you closer to him, you hissed, separating from both of them and going on ahead.
“Did you just hiss at me?” Illumi actually sounded a bit incredulous.
“Yes! Hisoka is an asshole, I knew that already. But you just left me there while you were playing Inspector Gadget or something while I was scared out of my mind! Who does that?!” You hurried towards the car and got in the back as soon as it was unlocked, refusing to talk or even look at either of them. When Illumi tried to talk, Hisoka advised him to leave you for a bit until you calmed down. They’d both take you somewhere to get back into your good graces.
As they both got inside, Illumi in the driver’s seat and Hisoka in the passenger’s, you were looking out the window, the sunset reflecting in the remaining windows of the hospital. A blurry figure, too far away from you to make out any details, waved at you from the third floor, where you’d seen it the first time. You felt yourself go pale as your eyes widened and your heart stuttered. Both Illumi and Hisoka were in the car with you... so who was up there then?

Build Me Up Buttercup *Part 3*
Yay I’m so happy people love this!
SUMMARY: Summary: You’re an SVU detective, the entire squad is all driving to Hartford Connecticut in your car to interview a victim's family. ROAD TRIP!!!!
If you need to catch up:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 4
Tag List: @wanniiieeee
“...So the last time you saw her was when you dropped her at school, Mrs. Fahey?” Olivia asked the distraught mother.
You and the squad had arrived at the victim’s house later than you had anticipated, sans lunch just like Rafael had predicted. You knew you should be paying attention to the interview, but your blood sugar was tanking by the minute. You tried distracting yourself by glancing at all the photos in the living room. Frames upon frames of the victim, a young 19 year old freshman to NYU, filled the room. Almost like they had made a shrine to her while she was still living. She was clearly their entire world, and now she was missing. Suddenly, all of your phones buzzed with notifications. It was a group text from Dodd’s.
“Oh no…” Amanda whispered.
“What? What happened? Did they find my Mary?” Mrs. Fahey frantically gripped Olivia’s hand.
“Ah….Mr. and Mrs. Fahey maybe we should go somewhere more private,” She replied.
“More private than my living room? You obviously all got the same news, so you might as well tell us here,” Mr. Fahey abruptly said.
“They...did find Mary,” Olivia simply stated. The Fahey's faces lit up for a moment, but then Olivia finished her sentence.
“....Her body was floating in the Hudson.”
That was it. You didn’t know if it was the exhaustion from getting up early and driving, or the fact that you hadn’t eaten more than a stick of gum since last night, but you felt sick to your stomach and your emotions were taking over. You stood up and tried discreetly walking out into the hall from the living room. You thought for half a second to ask where the Fahey’s bathroom was, but clearly now was not the time for that. You could find it yourself; you hoped.
Meanwhile, Barba had noticed you walking out, clearly in distress. His concerned look caught Amanda’s attention, who had also seen you leave. She shrugged at Barba, causing him to ask in a whisper:
“Should I go check on her?”
“Well you clearly want to, so yeah sure,” she whispered back.
“Rollins! She’s your partner!” he hissed.
“Something tells me she’d rather see you,” Amanda smirked.
What was that? Was it obvious he liked you? Was it obvious you liked him? There was no time to dwell on that drama, he was genuinely concerned about you.
He followed your exit out into the hallway, but you had vanished. He cautiously crept down the hallway until he saw a light under a door. As he approached it, he could hear soft sobs coming from the other side.
“....Y/N?”
Your head snapped up from staring at the floor, crying into your knees next to the bathtub. Shit, you had really tried to be discreet. Why did he follow you? This was totally unprofessional, you were sure of it. You stood up and tried wiping the smeared mascara and eyeliner from your teary eyes, but damn you and your love of the smoky eye! You looked like a drowned raccoon; This was a nightmare.
“I-I’m fine!” You called through the door, praying he’d walk away and he wouldn’t have to see your impression of the girl from THE RING.
“...You sure? I heard crying…”
Well, he sure wasn’t subtle, just a “state the facts” kinda guy. You kinda loved that about him, since you were the same way. And if you were being honest with yourself, the fact that he actually came to check on you made your stomach quiver. Okay, something lower quiver.
“Yeah I….stubbed my toe on the tub,” You called through the door, making a “What the fuck was that” face.
“....Yeah I doubt that. Come on just open the door, por favor,”
Oh God. When he used spanish, your knees went weak. Even if it was just a phrase you’d hear on a Rosetta Stone.
“Damn you,” You muttered, but complied with his request. The door peeked open just the tiniest bit so he could see your Picasso painting of a face.
“Oh my god, what happened to your face?!” He asked in a louder tone that caused you to freak out and pull him into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.
“Did you skip sensitivity training in law school or what?” You half laughed with a sniffle; it actually felt good. It might have been just the thing to knock back you to reality.
“I’m sorry, I’m not so good with the...subtle,” He apologized with a sheepish smile.
“Yeah I got that; it’s fine. Neither am I,” You assured him with a soft punch on the shoulder.
“Ok but seriously what happened to your face, you look like La Llorna,” He chuckled, putting his hands on your face and attempting to wipe off the layers of black lining your eyelids.
“Again, so comforting,” You rolled your eyes as he picked up a washcloth next to the sink and wet it to help the situation.
“You’re deflecting, detective,”  he raised an eyebrow as he put the washcloth to your eye. His gentle touch and the warm feel of the washcloth suddenly did actually feel extremely comforting.
“I...I’m just tired,” you lied. Well, in a way it was true.
Rafael’s eyebrow remained raised; that’s exactly what he had said earlier, instead of telling you how he really felt. He was sure you were doing it now.
“Being tired makes you burst into tears?”
“You’ve never been so tired you wanted to cry? Not even in law school?” it was your turn to raise your eyebrow.
“Alright, maybe ONCE in law school....but I waited until I was in the privacy of my own dorm,” He chuckled, you rolled your eyes.
“So…?”
“I just…..” you took a long, hard pause letting out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding in. Were you seriously going to do this now? This of all times, of all people, Rafael Barba? Two hours ago you were convinced he hated you, and had probably spoken a total of two sentences in your career at SVU. But at the same time, for whatever reason, you felt completely safe with him. You took another deep breath in and finally spoke:
“It’s just...this girl; Mary. She was just a young girl, she had everything going for her! She was beautiful, smart, obviously worshipped by her parents by that shrine out there,”  you gestured towards where you both had just come from.
“And...and she makes ONE bad decision, one. One moment of wanting to be accepted by the ‘cool kids’ at school by going to a frat party, and it….” you felt a sob catch in your throat.
“...It cost her her life,” you whispered softly.
“Ay….carino, come here,” Rafael sighed and pulled you into his arms, stroking your hair. You both just stayed like that for what felt like forever, but instantaneously you both realized this had gotten insanely intimate for two co workers who barely knew each other. He dropped his arms and cleared his throat, you quickly began running your fingers through your hair as you turned to face the mirror, away from his gaze. God, please. Be more awkward.
“I didn’t want to start losing it out there in front of her parents, they literally just lost their most prized possession. This can’t be about me,” You sighed as you turned back to face him.
“It’s stupid...I’m stupid. I shouldn’t let shit like this get to me, it’s totally unprofessional I know,”
“...No it’s not, it’s fine, You’re human,” He assured you, putting a thumb under your chin making you look into his deep green eyes
“Barba? Y/N? Did you get locked in there?”
Sonny’s voice knocked you both from each other’s stare, your faces both turning red. Rafael threw the door open and let you exit in front of him.
“I got sick, Rafael held my hair,” you quickly blurted out, both men’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh. Well, um….Mr. Barba is quite the gentleman,” He looked at Barba trying to hide a disgusted face; thinking about vomit made him queasy. “You ok now?”
“Yeah! Fine, hungry actually,” You half smiled as they followed you to the front door where the others were waiting,
“I’m so, so sorry again Mr. and Mrs. Fahey,” Olivia held Mrs. Fahey’s hand. “You take as long as you need to before coming to the city to…”
“Identify our daughter’s body, detective. No use pussyfooting around it.” Mr. Fahey was blunt once again.
“Right,” Olivia nodded.
“I’ll take the morning off tomorrow, we’ll be by then,” he replied gruffly.
“Okay. Whenever. No Rush,” Olivia waved one last time as the door closed. You all walked silently to the car, you broke it with a deep sigh.
“....Does that ever get any easier?” You asked, looking at each face of the members of your squad.
“Honestly? If you're a good cop, no.” Fin replied.
“The day you stop caring is the day you should quit.” Sonny added.
“God I’m starving, can we please get food? And drinks?” Amanda whined.
“Well, I sure could use a drink! Or five,”  you laughed.
“That’s another thing to watch out for, rookie,” Fin paused, taking your shoulder.
“What’s that?”
“Don’t drown your problems in a bottle, That can go downhill real fast,” Fin warned.
“That’s why it’s super important to have a squad you can trust. That you can talk to,” Olivia came up and put her hand on your other shoulder.
“Well, so far so good,” you half smiled.
“Seriously guys, can we get some food? Barba’s starting to look like a rotisserie chicken right now,” Sonny licked his lips.
“Alright alright Carisi, get in the car ya five year old,” Fin punched him in the arm.
As you went to the driver’s side of the car, Rafael stopped next to you.
“Do you want me to drive?” He offered. You usually never let anyone touch your baby, but you literally felt as if you could pass out just standing there.
“Please,” You smiled, tossing him your keys.
You got in your passenger’s seat and closed your eyes, finally relaxing for the first time since you left the City.
What awaited you on the other side of your nap?
