Persuasion: part 14- hail Hydra
Pietro Maximoff x OC "Rodgers." Tony warned. Raising an eye at Tony, questioning the threat behind his tone. Starks usually sassy, humorous manner had vanished- replaced with a protective and serious man. Now i wanted to know what they were hiding from me more then ever. Tony shurgged at me, carelessly, but his expression remained dark. "Steve, please. Whats going on?" Sam Wilsons dark eyes studied my face carefully as i desperately kept my focus on steve. Cap reached into his suit (tailored and... Expensive? I noted. Who was he trying to impress? Me and Natasha had been trying to set him up for ages,to no avail. But this was a polished, more than normal, steve rodgers...) pocket, pulling out a slim black S.H.I.E.L.D device. "Im getting Nat.." Bartons voice trailed off in the background, as he rushed away to get the red haired agent. I paid him little attention, as Steve had held out the device to me. A tiny grainy image was on the screen. I took the device, noting Steve and Tonys clashing glares at each other. Before i looked closer, i caught Wanda Maximoffs eye acrosa the room. Standing next to vision, her beautiful face looked pained. Her eyes looked glassy. Gently i pressed play on the device. My breath caught in my throat. He was screaming. Despite the muted silence of the video, i could hear his screams. His once handsome face was contourted in burning anger, a flicker of insanity and a glimpse of...joy? I didnt need to hear his words to know what he was screaming. Hail Hydra. My mouth felt dry. Hail Hydra. Numbly, i thrust the device back at Rodgers. I didnt need it anymore. I could never forget what i saw. My brothers bloody body being dragged, screaming, by S.H.I.E.L.D agents. Wandas voice broke into my mind, voice rhick with emotion. "Kat, it not-" pushing her out my mind, i felt hurt that even wanda knew before me. My own brother. Hail Hydra. I should have know, eveeything he said to me at the café was clear. Unknowingly i had blocked it from my mind, during the mission and after... Racking a trembling hand through my hair, i bit back my tears. What did the others think of me? "Kat.." Steve reached out to me. I flinched away. Hail hydra. "Where..where is he?" I asked, my voice barely more than a whisper. "Your brother," I cringed visibly. "Is located in a top secruity department-" "Steve." Tony warned. The group was silent, tensions crackling between everyone. Then Sam Wilson spoke. "Hes here. In the base level." I felt nauseous. The room span, and not from the alcohol i had consumed. "..24 hours security...hes dangerous..." Tony growled. "Hes her brother. Shes the only one he will talk to, and with his rank he could be the key to bringing down Hydra-" "Shes just a child!" Stark shouted. Anger flared inside me and i threw my hands up. Blazing white light emitted from my palms. It flooded the room, causing the guests to shield their eyes and shattering the drinks glasses violently. Catching a glismpse of my self in the fractured glass, scattering  the ground. The wild look in my eyes blazed back at me. What if i was just like my brother? Hail hydra Tearing my eyes from my hysterical face, i broke into a run out of the room. Worried and confused blurred past me as i shoved my way theough the teeming crowds. I could here Tony and Steves calls out to me, but i didnt falter. I needed air. Preferably fresh.  Hail Hydra. · Sometimes when i feel the need to escape,i make my way to the rooftop garden. Lush green plants and exotic flowers, the overall smell is slightly overpowering. But its welcome when you want to take your mind off things. Right now im sat on the edge of the building. The avengers facility is not necessarily looming heights, but its enough to send a gentle wind through my hair. Up here, i feel calmer. My pulse is its steady beat, my hands no longer sweaty. Behind me the glass door slides open, then shut. "If i had know how upset it would make you, i would have listened to tony." Steve attempt to make a joke was refreshing, and i found myself unable to be hostile with him. "Captain america listen to Stark? Never in my wildest dreams." Steve laughed, shaking his head. "Belive me i wanted to tell you sooner, i just.." "I understand Steve. Protocol. Restriction. Yadda yadda.. I just dont want people to assume i think like my brother just because he's, well, my brother. Never.." i shuddered. Steve shook his head. "Kat. None of us would believe you could ever be like that- no one." I looked into the horizon, a hazy pink hue spread across the city. Hail Hydra. "I just dont know why i didnt put it together sooner. Do you remember that day at the cafe when i met him..." He nodded. " He practically told me." The memory of how he possessed that poor girl flooded my mind. The pure black eyes and his hysterical glee. "Steve hes strong, people arent safe near him- he can possess people and who knows what else." "Its alright Kat, S.H.I.E.L.D knows everything you do about him." I slumped down, my body betraying my fatigue. Steve noticed, patting my akwardly on the back. "When is the footage from?" I asked "Recently...two days ago." I bit my lip. Part of me wished he would rot away in the SHIELD cell, but another part of me...well. I wasnt sure. My emotions were totally out of wack. "Steve...can you...can i see him?" Shock registered on his face and his eyebrows scrunched. "I dont know Kat. Starks already mad i even showed you, letting you visit..." "Please Steve, you said he wouldnt talk to anyone- i can help!" I pleaded. "Well Fury did want to try the family tactic...i refused but if its what you want." "Ill do it." "Are you sure,Kat? I wouldnt want you to do anywthing you were uncomfortable-" "Steve, hes my brother." "Kat, im afraid hes not the same brother you will remember." ·

Persuasion: chapter 13- Turning point
Pietro Maximoff X OC Warnings : alcohol "You have to choose." The voice echoed in the dark room, crawling over me like a million spiders. I strained my eyes trying desperately to see. Only hollow nothingness ranged before me, heightening my other senses in the absence of sight. To the left the air stirred slightly, and I presumed the owner of the voice had joined me- join me where exactly I couldn't work out. The floor beneath me was cold and overwhelming anxiety clawed at my throat to scream. "Now now, don't be scared.." It spoke again, closer this time. Feigning confidence, I laughed. But I could hear the uncertain tremor in my sound. I had no idea where I was, who I was with or why. I didn't know whether the person (or thing) behind the voice was friend or foe, but I was willing to place my bet on foe. Trying to make my hands glow with my powers, I realised I could not move my limbs. A heavy weight seemed to weigh me down despite not actually feeling anything physically there. Panic started to rise in me again, and my breathing became short, shallow gasps. No words escaped me. "I wouldn't offer this opportunity to mortals, but you are no ordinary...mortal. I felt your presence for a while and finally you were unveiled by the mindstone." My eyebrows scrunched in confusion at the voice. "There is a place for you beside me, together I-we would be stronger then anything. When we finally meet I will explain more." Suddenly blinding light filled the room, and I blinked feebly as if it was my first time to see light. A smell of death and decomposing flesh burned my nostrils and a feeling of nausea washed over me. "Sacrifices have to be made for our cause." I screamed in horror at what I saw. "I'll be watching you." • Jolting forwards, I gasped desperately for air. My bed sheets clung to my trembling body, sticky with sweat. Raking my hand through my hair I flopped backdown. Tilting my head to the side I looked at my clock. 7 o'clock. I felt like I hadn't slept at all. Groaning I pulled a pillow over my head and screamed. An icy feeling submerged me as if someone had thrown an ice bucket over me. Was my dream... Reality? I know there is a fine line between the two, and as much as I would like to block out the nightmare I couldn't shake the feeling that it was more than a dream. "Or maybe I'm just going insane." I muttered bitterly. • The electric hum of the heart monitor buzzed dully in time with my own pulse. As if by some cruel joke a glass of water was placed beside pietros bedside, the same as yesterday. And the day before that. Despite knowing the nurse had put the glass there kindly i simply wanted to throw it at the wall. Maybe it was the lack of sleep or the lack of hope in maximoff rousing but my irritation at the simplest things was constant. Only yesterday i had snapped at steve for asking me if i wanted two sugar lumps in my tea. Steve had assured me it was ok but i couldnt shake the digust in myself- i felt wired and on edge. Shaking the feeling that i was on the verge of either a breakdown or something very bad was about to happen seemed futile. My nightmares persisted and my brain ached. I could barely control my powers yet i felt them grow stronger everyday. Do you ever have the feeling something bad is going to occur right before said bad event takes place? Its like standing on the sidewalk watching an accident in slow motion- and theres nothing you can do about it. Another of starks parties was tonight. If anything could help numb my pain, tony would know. · "Honey, if you down anymore of thoose cocktails you might give me a run for my money on most intoxicated. And im a stark." Tilting the crystal champagne flute into my mouth, i swiveled away from the bar to pout at tony. "Im livinggg while im young twony!" i giggled, fist pumping the air. "Mhmn. Well dont let grandpa steve see you." Tony gestured to Rodgers who i barely noticed was talking in hushed tones to Sam Wilson. Electronic lights swirled around me and a heavy base track filled the room. The room was quite busy with a random mix of agent and celebrities, buisness men and superheroes likea odd pick and mix. Frowning at the guests i felt angry that everyone was enjoying themselves. Shaking my head as if to physically remove the thought i rapidly grabbed and downed another drink. I couldnt even recognise what it was, but there was always free random cocktails on the bar of tony starks party and tonight i was taking advantage of this fact. I was ignoring the little voice telling me i needed a clear head not a fuzzy drunk one. I didnt want to care. "Kat!" Turning again from the bar, i squealed and launched myself into Clint bartons arms. "The hawk returns to the nest!" Hugging the older man tightly i felt him laugh. "I missed you old man!" "How come i didnt get that reaction." Tony whined from behind me. Pulling myself out of clints arms i faced tony, wobbling slightly. "We-ell you critisiced my choice of drinnk!" "Im not surprized, what have you been drinking kat?" clint asked, half joking half concerned. Before i could answer, a hand was placed on my shoulder and i looked up to see Steve. Instantly i could tell something was wrong. Tugging on a lock of hair, looked from steve to sam stood behind him and back to steve. "Kat, theres something you have a right to see. Technically you havent been authorized-" "Youve been directly blocked actually." Sam cut in. "But we think you have a right to know.." Gulping, i tried to discretly shake my head clear but to my own fault i felt like my brain was drowning in the intoxication. "Steve," clint muttered "i dont think shes in the right state-" "Not only that," tony inturrupted, his voice harsh "shes been blocked from access for a reason." Irritated i stepped closer to steve, away from tony. "Im still here you know." stark opened his mouth to speak but i put my hand up and faced steve. "Show me." ·

Persuasion: chapter 12- After.
Pietro Maximoff x OC Inside the hospital room, everything was still. Pietro's skin was pale and almost translucent except for a faint tint in his hollow cheeks. It would be easy to mistake him for dead I realise with a sharp pang. In my grasp his hand is cold, unmoving. After I bought him back to life initially, the doctors did the rest supervised by Helen Cho who has thankfully recovered since Ultrons attack on her. Pietro had a constant flow of medicines, blood and various other liquids pumped into him to help him recover. He's in a steady condition now. Except that he's in a coma and has been for 3 weeks. A nurse had changed him straight away into a plain hospital gown so he's no longer wearing the torn and bloodied clothing he had on for the battle. But I can still see the bullets when I close my eyes. Letting go of Pietros hand, I stand up shakily and move to the window. Beneath me grass stretches out to the edge of a  forest, a group of agents dressed in black uniform run across. Usually I would be joining one of the training sessions, but Steve and Natasha have called an avengers meeting today in half an hour. The door to the Pietros hospital room clicks open, and I turn expecting a docter or nurse coming to check up or try to shoo me away again (they disapprove of my daily visits. It must seem pointless to them, sitting and talking to a man who probably can't even hear me.) "Oh, Katie! I didn't realise.." Wanda blurts out, not entering the room. "Wanda, it's alright come in." I say offering a small smile. It's not like she was interpreting a deep conversation, I think sarcastically. The female maximoff makes her way over to Pietros bedside, pulling up a chair. I know that Wanda comes as often as me to Pietro, but somehow we've never been at the same time. Until now. A heavy silence falls over the room like dust, and I tug on a piece of hair nervously. I'm not quite sure why I'm nervous, I have no reason to be.  I feel like we have a lot to say to each other, that we just can't put into words. I guess her brother has pulled us together, somehow. It's not like it's the first time we have been together after the battle, we have had a few training sessions together as our abilities are similar in ways and have hung out with some of the others together. But being in this room, with Pietro in a state of stupor, it's as if were both raw and bleeding for each other to see. Guilt fills me as I think of the pain  and heartache she must be going through, not being able to help her twin who has been with her through everything Because he saved me. "Um..I should go.." I say, shifting on the spot. "Please...please stay." Wanda says tearing her gaze from her twin to me, hastily wiping her eyes. She is still beautiful but the lack of sleep and worry is evident on her face. I wonder if I have the same look. "It's my fault he's like this.." I whisper, looking at my hands. "this is the second time he's saved my life, and he's paid for it and... You must hate me for this, and I don't disagree. Your brother, he is so brave and I'm eternally great full to him not that it means much, but I don't know how to say what I feel. I've never been good at expressing my feelings and-" "Katie," Wanda interrupts, smiling "you saved my brothers life." She stands up, walking over to me (while I open and close my mouth, like a fish, unable to think of anything to say.). Suddenly Wanda pulls me into a hug. "Without you, I would not have my brother. You have saved us both." She says pulling away from our embrace to smile at me, her eyes shining with tears. "My brother, he acts quickly on his heart. When he saw you were in danger, he moved to protect you. He is very protective of the things and people close to him. If he knew that this," she gestured to Pietro" would happen, he wouldn't hesitate to do it again." I smile sheepishly at her, blushing. "I'm sure he would have done it for anyone.." "Your right, he would have. But he wanted to do it for you. Do you understand, Kat? You have a very strong bond between you already, he is very...he is already very attached. After all he is quicksilver." She giggles. Laughing along with her, I pull Wanda in for another hug. " why was I not invited to this BFF hug?" Breaking apart, Wanda and I turn to look at Tony poking his head through the door. "Anyway, putting my hurt aside, I need to steal Kat." He says, then checks his watch. "Sure, one sec." I reply, picking up my phone from the table and slipping it in my pocket. "See you at the meeting Wanda!" I say with a small wave, leaving after Tony. Closing the door behind me, I catch up with Stark. "What's up?" I say, walking backwards to look at him. "I'm leaving." I stop rapidly and Tony almost crashes into me. "Leaving?" "Yeah kiddo, not far away though." Nodding mutely, we start to walk again. "I'll be dropping in, I just can't stay here 24/7 and I didn't train with the rest of the team before all of this anyway. I'll still be part of it all, just not eating dinner with the team everyday. I need to be close to pepper, I'm sure you understand what with sonic." He says, winking at me. "How he doing by the way, we seem to have a lot of sleeping superheroes. First capsicle, he's a bad influence on us all." Tony says, shaking his head. "Says you stark!" I grin, but it falters a bit when I think of Pietro's sate. "Pietro is...better. Cho says he is perfectly healthy, he's just unable to wake up I guess." "What about true loves kiss? That woke sleeping beauty last time." Tony says, nudging my with his elbow. I roll my eyes at him as we walk through a door. Into a corridor with a glass wall, Steve and Thor talking in the middle. Before we get closer to the pair, I reach out to touch Tony's arm. "Promise you'll visit often though Tony." "I promise kiddo. I wouldn't want to leave you alone with this lot, and we have unfinished business in the lab about your abilities. I could also do with a temporary sane person in there.. What with banner.." A look of sadness fills Tony's eyes at the mention of Bruce, before he coughs and looks back at me smirking. "Plus you'd miss this face to much." Punching Tony playfully on the arm I skip away from him towards the super soldier and Norse god. • "But if you put the hammer in an elevator..." "It would still go up." "Elevator's not worthy." The sunlight hits my face, and I smile up at it warmth filling me. "I'm going to miss these little talks of ours." "Not if you don't leave." Tony says hopefully, reminding me of a puppy. "And stay with us forrrrrever....." I purr in a sing song tone. "I have no choice. The Mind Stone is the fourth of the Infinity Stones to show up in the last few years. That's not a coincidence. Someone has been playing an intricate game and has made pawns of us." "Once all these pieces are in position..." "Triple Yahtzee?" Tony interjects humorously. "Bingo." I add. "You think you can find out what's coming?" "I do. Besides this one, there's nothing that can't be explained." Thor muses, then pats Tony. Striding forwards he raises his hammer. A burst of lightening consumes him from the sky in a swirl of white, blue and silver. "That man has no regard for lawn maintenance." Stark says bluntly. "I like the pattern." "I'm gonna miss him though." Steve says, as our trio starts to walk to Starks car. "And you're gonna miss me. There's gonna be a lot of manful tears." "I will miss you, Tony." I cough to cover my giggle. "Yeah? Well, it's time for me to tap out." "Maybe I should take a page out of Barton's book and build Pepper a farm. Hope nobody blows it up." "The simple life." "With all the stark luxuries." I grin, Tony sticks his tongue out at me before returning to cap. "You'll get there one day." "I don't know. Family, stability. The guy who wanted all that went in the ice 75 years ago..I think someone else came out." "You all right?" "I'm home." Steve smiles, and a tinge of sadness spikes my heart. I guess that makes more than one of us without a home. Jumping into his car, Tony starts the engine. He looks at us over his expensive sunglasses. "Don't forget- party tomorrow at the tower, 7pm sharp." "Party?" I frown, eyebrows scrunching. A party now? I couldn't think about leaving Pietro alone- what if he wakes up? Will he wake up? "Yes kitty Kat!" Stark rolls his eyes. "Make sure she comes Cap!" "How are you doing Kat?" Cap asks me as we stroll back up to facility. The gravel crunches beneath our feet, the previous peaceful silence rippling away like waves. "Me? I'm...I'm ok Steve.." I say, twisting my hair. Is that right? Was I ok? I hadn't thought about that... "It's over for now, the battle. Everything will be ok in the end. " "And if it's not ok, it's not the end?" I breathe, smiling. "What?" Steve asks when I giggle, a puzzled look on his face. "It was a reference, from a movie." "Which one?" "The best exotic marigold hotel." "I'll put it in the book." • "Avengers...assemble!" "Dramatic much."

Persuasion: chapter 11- fight to survive
Pietro Maximoff X OC "No way we all get through this. If even one tin soldier is left standing, we've lost. It's gonna be blood on the floor." Tony states grimly. I bite my lip thoughtfully, wondering where Pietro and Wanda went too. "I got no plans tomorrow night." Steve says, looking up smiling slightly from where he's sat. "I get first crack at the big guy. Iron Man's the one he's waiting for." Tony says strongly, and I tighten my gun holster on my thigh. Looking up I see Vision stride past us his cape swirling around him. "That's true, he hates you the most." I snort. "Rejection..." I call over my shoulder, walking away. I'm brought to a stop when I bump into something hard and jump back, sucking in my breath. "Careful draga, wouldn't want you to hurt yourself." "We're going into heavy fighting against a huge robot army, lead by a Homicidal AI. I have a handgun, two daggers, multiple electrochips, an energy blast gun and uncontrollable powers all inside a bulletproof catsuit. I'll try not to hurt my self." I smile sweetly. Pietro's face is blank for a second, before a mischievous twinkle lights in his eyes. He places a hand on my jaw, his thumb tracing tiny circles around my cheek. Trying not to melt under his touch, I keep my poker face straight. "I like the suit." "Ultron knows we're coming. Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire, and that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out." Steves voice echoes through our earpieces. I fire two shots through the body of a robot and kick it backwards. "All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us." Beside me Wanda rips another robot apart with swirling scarlet ropes of power. "Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right." • Hordes of robots climb like mechanical zombies up the side of the bridge, peoples screams float around me as I shut down as many robots as I can. Sweat prickles on my forehead. Hawkeye aims an arrow next to Wanda, as I run towards the oncoming civilians connecting eye contact with them one by one. A hand wraps around my own and I turn defensively around, my palm glowing white. "Channel it through me! Force field!" Wanda shouts, and I nod calmly. I look into her eyes, and the normal electric buzz flows through me to her but slightly muted. Wisps of technicolored light dances through our joined hands, finally ending on a bright electric blue as if this colour connects us. A flash of a man with silver hair then the colour explodes out in an wide arc shield. The bullets fizz into it, crumbling into ash, then consuming the robots themselves. Our hands drop and I turn to grin at Wanda, who pulls me into a tight hug. "Alright kids, break it up. There's plenty more of Those robots where they came from." Clint shouts from behind us, smirking. A flash of silver and blue light spins around us. Wanda and I are pulled into Pietro's chest as his laugh vibrates through him. "That was incredible..my best girls.." Suddenly the floor beneath us shakes, and we fall apart my hands lurching forward. The bridge crumples in half and Clint tugs on my shoulder pulling me from the edge. "Do you see? The beauty of it. The inevitability." One of ultrons robot hovers above us, red eyes shooting into my soul. "You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword and the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me." An arrow shoots through the robot and it falls crumpling to the ground. Only to be replaced by another identical robot. I raise my hand urging the robot to shut down. "It means nothing." Jerking to the side I see yet another Ultron clone in the air. They are really starting to bug me. "When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal." • "The rest of us have one job: tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off." Guiding people through the streets to safety with Wanda and Hawkeye, my job is to protect. Protect the civilians, protect my team and protect the world. A few years ago I would never have dreamed my powers would be used for something as good as this. Shaking my head clear, I dodge to the side rolling. Hawkeye perfects a gymnast like backflip, before shooting an arrow. Four more robots corner him and Wanda and I get up to help only to be pushed back by another robot. Clint and Wanda crash backwards, no longer visible to me. "Clint? Wanda? Clint!" I shout frantically. "One second Kat!" Barton calls gruffly, and I turn relaxing. 7 robots coming in my direction. "Hello boys. Let's have some fun shall we?" I smile, stretching my hands. Light pulses through me as I take a running leap, slamming into a robot. I laugh shooting behind me at another. Twirling around I push two back with a stream of white power. No matter how many I take down it doesn't seem to effect the numbers of robot enemy's descending on me. "LITTLE HELP PLEASE!" I shout back at the still absent Clint and Wanda. Hawkeye jumps out, by himself, shooting at the robots. He falls in beside me and I look at him out of the corner of my eye. "Wanda?" I ask, Clint shrugs in reply. "Give her a minute, don't worry kiddo." When a robot aims at my leg I slide behind a upturned car with Clint. "Ow." I sigh. I notice I didn't quite miss the robots attack. Dark red blood stains my hand, warm and sticky. Wincing, I press down hard on my leg. Barton looks up over the car and then shake his head at me in dismay. "There's still more coming, are you ok to get back up?" Moving to stand, I grit my teeth. Suddenly Wanda bursts out of the house, her hands beaming red.  Shooting gracefully to the side tearing a robot apart. A fierce look is on her face as she flings the broken machine into another. Hawkeye shoots it down and the pair nod at each other. "Daddy Barton to the rescue." I say under my breath, pulling myself up on the car. Barton reaches his hand out, my ruffling my hair. "All right, we're all clear here." "We are not clear! We are very not clear!" Cap says, out of breath, through the earpiece. "All right, coming to you." Out of thin air, Pietro appears picking up his sister. "Keep up, old man." Before we can blink he is gone. Clint raises his bow, in the direction of the Maximoffs. "Nobody would know. Nobody." Laughing, I gently push his bow down and start to jog away. Inside I know that Clint is starting to get a soft spot for the Maximoffs- he's not the only one. "Yeah, last I saw him, and Ultron was sitting on him, uh...yeah, he'll be missed, that quick little bastard. I miss him " • "The next wave's gonna hit any minute." Steve says beside me, "What have you got, Stark?" "Well, nothing great. Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface if you guys can get clear." "I asked for a solution, not an escape plan." "Impact radius is getting bigger every second." Biting my lip, I listen to the earpiece, guiding people out from the rubble of the city. A tiny girl with long golden plaits latches on to my leg, tears staining her cheeks. Bending  down to her, I take her hand smiling reassuringly. "Hey, hey, it's ok were the avengers and we're here to help you sweetie." Her eyes glisten with tears for a second before she pops her thumb in her mouth, tugging at her braid. The innocence of this child, caught up in conflict steels my courage to fight. "Can you help me?" I ask gently, nodding. A gentle wind blows over me and a mans shadow appears next to me. The girl looks at the person with wide eyes. I roll mine, standing to face him. "Show off.." I mutter. Pietro sticks his tongue out at me, and I bite back a giggle. I will not be turned into a giggling teenage girl because of sonic the hedgehog. "Are you two together, like my mamma and papa?" A tiny voice says besides me. Spluttering, I feel my cheeks burn what probably was a beautiful tomato red. Pietro's arm wraps around my shoulder. "No! i mean..not that it's a bad thing, and I'm not saying it a good thing either, what I'm trying to Say-" "Not yet." Pietro whispers to the girl, who promptly smiles and nods. A warm feeling grows inside like the sun is trying to burst its way out of my stomach, accompanied by a million butterfly's (I would say Hawks but Clint would be offended). Twisting out from under Pietro I tug on my hair, ignoring the urge to stay in his embrace forever. There's a battle to be won. Suddenly a young women runs through the crowd towards us. "Maria! Maria you must stay close." She says to the little girl, picking her up and hugging her tightly. Her eyes go wide when she sees us standing there. Is my hair that bad? "Oh! Thank you! Thank you so much for looking after her!" "It's fine, please get to safety, the both of you." I say kindly "it was lovely to meet you Maria!" I catch Pietro send Maria a quick wink and a grin, before he pulls me towards him again. The feeling of weightless flying lurches over me and next thing I know we are next to Natasha and Steve. The clouds spread out ahead of us, like a blanket of soft candyfloss. It's so serene and tranquil , and my breath leaves me in awe. Then the HELICALLIER bursts through the White. "Nice, right? I pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do." Furys voice says over our ear pieces. "Fury, you son of a bitch." Steve laughs. I gasp loudly, my hand over my mouth dramatically. Natasha sniggers. "Oooh! You kiss your mother with that MOuth?" Life boats take off towards us from the helicarrier. "This is SHIELD?" Pietro asks, staring. "This is what SHIELD's supposed to be." Steve answers proudly, remembering the recent uncovering of HYDRA. My heart twists as I think of my brother, one of them. "This is not so bad." The corner of speedos lips lift into a proud smile. • "What's the drill?" I ask, placing my hands on my hips. "This is the drill." Tony Starks iron plated finger points towards a metal cylinder, probably where all that vibranium went. "If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose." "Is that the best you can do?" Thor shouts towards Ultron in the air. ULtron raises a hand dramatically, a swarm of robots crawl, run, fly at us. "You had to ask." Cap mutters. "This is the best I can do. " Ultron raises his arms out to the side. "This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?" Standing round the core, defiantly, the avengers and I take glances at each other. "Like the old man said.." Tony says coolly. I curls my hands into fists. "Together." "Let's kick some metal ass!" I shout. I kick the first robot in the face. Bearing in mind his ugly face was made from metal, that probably wasn't my best decision. Changing tactics, I use my abilitys to send the robots to sleep. Or robot death? (Technology- ask Stark). But it became hard to gain eye contact to control them. Ripping a robot in half with white spindles of energy, I wonder if my powers could stretch to just me looking at them instead of eye contact. I duck to dodge a hit, and see Steve jump in a gymnast twirl. Getting up, I centre my self and focus on me and my energy. A tug on my gut. My vision sharpens. My palms warm.  A creak of metal. I spin on my toes on instinct, targeting an oncoming group of 6 robots. All the air leaves my lungs as I shift my energy towards them. Each robot disintegrates like sand, swept off into the air. • "They'll try to leave the city. " Thor booms, taking out the last oncoming robot. Pietro is next to me with wanda, both panting. "We can't let 'em, not even one. Rhodey!" Tony says into his computer, contact I war machine. "We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats... " Steve points at me, black widow, Hawkeye, and the maximoffs. "I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you." "What about the core?" "I'll protect it. " wanda cuts in, causing Clint to look up at the girl.. They share a nod and Clint pauses for a second before turning to me and Natasha. "Nat and Kat. Let's go." I snigger at the rhyme then turn to wanda, placing my hand on her arm. I squeeze reassuringly and she smiles at me. "See you later." Her accent strong but soft. "You know I'm 12 minutes older than her." Pietro says, sticking his bottom lip out. Laughing, I flip my hair over my shoulder. " race you back, speedster." "Oh it's on, puppeteer." • "I know what I need to do. The dining room!" Growing, I flop backwards into the seat of the car. Clint and Natasha decided as I'm the baby I have to go in the back. "If I knock out that east wall, it'll make a nice work space for Laura, huh. " The car skids around a corner, next to a lifeboat. "Put up some baffling, she can't hear the kids running around, what do you think?" "You guys always eat in the kitchen anyway." "No one eats in a dining room." "Maybe you should get a dog." I add, jumping over the door. In the distance the hulks roar echoes, and Natasha's head snaps towards it. Mental note: get them together! "We don't have a lot of time." Clint says, knowing Natasha has to go to Bruce/Hulk. "So get your ass on a boat." Ushering people into the boat, I keep an eye out for the speedster so I can gloat my success. "Costel?" A woman's voices shouts from the boat, and I look for the owner of the voice. "We were in the market. Costel?!" The young woman has blood down her face and a look of despair wild in her eyes. Suddenly Clint jogs past me off the boat, ignoring my calls after him. Then I see it. A  small hand and face waving desperately from under a broken building. Clint running towards him. A helicopter buzzing like an angry wasp in their direction. My promise to get Clint home. Sprinting towards them I scream at them to cover. But it's like my voice is mute, no sound uttered. Barton lifts the metal off the boy, helping him out. He turns looking up at the impending helicopter, raining bullets down. I throw myself in front of them, trying to use my ability to stop the helicopter. It's no use, my abilities failed me and the people I promised to protect.  I close my eyes. Nothing. No pain. I open my eyes again, and wish I could close them. But I couldn't tear my eyes away. "You didn't see that coming." "Pietro?" Ragged breaths escape my lips, every breath is like a blade of glass. A single tear rolls into my lips. I don't notice the salty taste. I can't remember starting to cry. His body is limp in my arms, as a desperately rock him back and forth. I'm crying harder now. Gut reaching sobs spluttering out like a swan song. A Raw and broken sound. His blood covers me, still warm. "Please..pietro.." Clutching him into me, I press my lips onto his forehead. A tear falls gently onto his face, splashing quietly. Pulling away I shakily brush my tear, looking into Pietros face. His skin is deathly pale. His mouth open as if he was speaking. His once electric eyes are clouded, cold, empty. A weight lands softly on my shoulders. Clint's arms wrap around me pulling me away, his voice is blurred like I'm underwater. "No...no...no..." I mumble, quietly at first but then I'm screaming. I can't leave him, I have to be able to save him! He wasn't supposed to die.. I feel myself being passed from Clint into another pair of arms. I'm lifted slightly as I'm taken away from Clint and..pietro.. To the escape pods. I strain to look back, and see Clint pick up Pietro. He's like rag doll, so small in Hawkeyes arms. Struggling in the strong arms that bind me, my legs kick out and thrash. "Katie, you have to leave its not safe." Steve Rodgers voice is soft and sympathetic, in my ear. It's so gentle that I fall still, my anger drained. I feel numb as Steve places me on a seat. People move around me, voices swirling. It's all background noise. Exhaustion has finally got to me. I don't have the energy to move, to think, to focus. Peoples thoughts drift through my head like a river, but I don't notice them. My eyelids are heavy, threatening to shut. They flutter, but I fight off sleep. A shadow passes over me. A weight thumps heavily down next to me and I wearily turn my head. Clint's eyes are closed, his body slumped. My eyes follow down his arm, which hangs over the seat in the air. Pietro lays beneath. The Scarlett bullet wounds littered across his torso, no longer bleeding- No longer bleeding. My breath stills in throat and I fall to my knees next to him, clanging onto the floor. Inspecting the wounds I confirm that the bleeding has stopped. In fact they seem to be closed over. Only Harsh red scars underneath his blood. His eyes are still open, vacantly staring at nothing, and as I look into them I know what I have to do. I can only hope it will work. But I have to try. For the team, for Wanda, for myself and for Pietro. •

Persuasion: chapter 10- friend or foe
Pietro Maximoff x OC Based around avengers age of ultron • "I saved your life, love. Just one date-" Pietro says leaning close to me, loosing myself in the scent of his cologne. "I could have saved myself, Speedy." I say, speeding up to leave him and my thought behind. He darts right in front of me, walking backwards down the corridor. Steve is walking ahead of us, Wanda to Pietro's right. The electric lights of Avengers Tower blink on as we walk down to the lab, to find the casket. (I was walking with Steve before Speedo the annoying pulled me back to him). "But you enjoyed it, no?" Feeling my face heat up (beetroot red for certain), I shove him lightly out the way. "I can't- I don't date team members." I say, sadness in my tone. Pietro leans in towards me, "But I'm not part of the team yet." He smirks, and I chuckle looking at him through my eyelashes. "You will be soon, if you choose to and you should." "How about straight away after we win? I won't be an official member still." He ask, his eyes sparkling like sapphires. I fall silent; thinking. Why can't I just let myself say yes? It's every girls dream, and It can't hurt. After all I can't get him from running circles in my mind. "Ok." I say, nodding. Shocked, Pietro almost falls over his own feet, and I swear I heard Wanda giggle. "The genetic coding tower's at ninety-seven percent. You have got to upload that schematic in the next three minutes." Bruce says from inside the lab, as we rounded a corner of avengers tower. Steve and I walk into the lab, the twins behind us masking there nervousness with straight faces. " I'm gonna say this once." Steve says to Tony and Bruce, his face grim. "How about "nonce"?" Stark shoots back, continuing to type. "Not a word but I'll allow it." I shrug, moving towards the cradle. "Shut it down." Steve orders "Nope, not gonna happen. " Stark walks over to a computer screen, and for a second we share eye contact. "-fix the mess I made-" I sharply break eye contact when Tony's thoughts flow through my mind and I nod at him. "You don't know what you're doing." "And you do?" Bruce interrupts Tony and Steve's spar "She's not in your head?" His voice laced with venom, pointing at Wanda. Frowning I look at Bruce and remember that he doesn't know what happened in Korea, just what Wanda made him-or rather the hulk- do. "I know you're angry." Wanda says softly, stepping out from behind Steve. "Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." He threatens, his eyes dark. "Banner, after everything that's happened..." Steve starts, his voice calm. "That's nothing compared to what's coming!" Tony snaps. "You don't know what's in there!" Exclaims Wanda, and then everyone speaks at once. I flick my gaze over to Pietro, who rolls his eyes. He sighs at me and I laugh silently turning away again. "This isn't a game... " "The creature...!" Suddenly a wind whips round the lab, and I feel it circle me. My dark hair floats in a cloud around my face for a second and I'm encased in a swirl of silver and blue, before it disappears so quickly it's almost like it was never there . "No, no.Go on." Pietro says sarcastically beside me, and I jump startled at his sudden appearance . "You were saying?" He throws a wire down, and my hand snaps out to catch it. I start to walk back over to the casket, spinning the wire in my hand. I don't make it far before a hand touches my shoulder, pulling me back. "Your on Starks side?" Pietro accuses me,confused. His face is in close proximity, his electric blue eyes staring intensely. I can feel his breath tickle my face, his chest rising and falling heavily. "I'm on the side of fixing the problem." I growl back. "You can't control this with one of your mind tricks, Katie ." His accent stronger in his husky tone, the sound of my name sending shivers down my spine. "Wanna bet sonic?" I smirk, pulling myself free of his grasp. Suddenly the glass panel below us shatters, sending us falling through in a blizzard of glass. "Pietro!" "Kat!" Hitting the ground hard, we groan in pain. Locking eyes we check to see if the other is seriously hurt, finding the all clear. I sit up. Pietro starts to get up aswell, but Clint Barton steps on his leg holding him down. "What? You didn't see that coming?" He smirks down at Pietro. I stare at Clint, face palming myself in my head. "You shot through Starks floor, to say that?" I laugh, shaking my head. "Could you not have at least waited until I had moved?" "Sorry Kat, couldn't miss the opportunity." He replied, smirking lazily. Men. "Are you alright, draga?" Pietro asks. Now standing in front of me, he offers me his hand. I accept it and pull myself up. We stand still, our hands lingering together. Hearing Barton cough we quickly drop them, and I brush some invisible dust off me awkwardly. "Did I miss something?" Before either of us can answer, a loud crash sounds above us and a flash of Wandas red mist. Pietro runs out to help his sister, leaving me and Barton to run at our own pace. When we enter Steve is throwing his shield at Tony, who is half suited up in the iron man suit, who shoots it back with a repulser . Wanda sends a burst of scarlet power through her chest hitting Bruce, who had her in a choke hold. Beside me Clint take out his gun, and I feel my hands tingle as the glow white. Steve and Tony fly apart from each other shattering a glass wall that Tony smashes on (adding another part of Tony's Lab destroyed. Thank god he's rich). Just then Thor crashes down onto the cradle, holding his hammer into the air summoning crackling bolts lightning. Through the ceiling. "Wait!" Bruce shouts, but it's too late. Thor pounds the cradle with the Lightning, which explodes in blinding light, shoving us to floor. Whimpering quietly, I press my palms into my sweaty temples and push myself up onto my knees. My head rings loudly, and not just from the fall. Emerging from the cradle is a red and gold figure. In the centre of its head is a golden gem that seems to be the source of my splitting headache... Drawing my eyes from the hypnotising stone, I look at its owner. It's eyes snap open looking straight at me, and it lurches towards me. I roll to the side sharply, and it aims at Thor instead who is standing. Thor pushes him away, sending him shooting backwards towards the glass window side of the room. It gracefully comes to a stop In front of the glass. Outside the sky is pitch black, but New York is lit up by the bright city lights. It Is breathtaking in a modern way, but I find it sad how the light of the city blocks out the stars above. The...robot? The man? The man seems captivated, staring intently at the glass, his reflection staring back. The team stands up, standing and moving closer like sleepwalkers. Steve jumps over ready to defend if necessary, but Thor puts his hand out to stop him. Walking closer, The room is completely silent as if a single sound would fracture the temporary peace. Out of the corner of my eye I see Pietro's familiar blur speed beside Wanda. Then man floats smoothly down to our level, beside Thor. His voice is quiet, like he's not used to it, and almost- British? "I'm sorry. That was..." He pauses, looking up at Thor "...odd." "Thank you.." He nods at Thor, who nods back at him. Vision looks at Thor a moment longer, before moving away a gold cape forming from his shoulders. It's exactly like Thor's and I suppress a giggle. Thor is a fashion icon I guess. "Thor. You helped create this?" Steve asks, his posture still defensive. "I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at it's center is that." He points at the glowing stone. It seems to pulse with life, enticing  me- or rather my ability- and a ringing noise echoes faintly round my head. "What, the gem?" Bruce asks. "It's not just a gem, it has power...a lot." I say quietly, all heads turning to look at me in surprise. Even I am surprised at myself. "It's the Mind Stone." Thor continues, thankfully drawing the attention away from me. "It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." "Then why would you bring it to..." "Because Stark is right." "Oh, it's definitely the end times." Bruce mutters. "The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron." "Not alone." The man and I say at the same time, I look at him in surprise. I can feel Someones eyes burning into the back of my head, and I turn around to see Pietro looking at me concerned. He raises an eyebrow at me but I just shake my head and turn back. "Why does your "vision" sound like Jarvis?" Steve questions, and I can finally put a name to the man. Vision. "We reconfigured Jarvis' matrix to create something new." Explains Stark, walking forward to Vision and I can practically see his genius mind whirling. "I think I've had my fill of new." Steve says. "You think I'm a child of Ultron?" Vision turns his attention to Steve now, I don't feel like Vision is evil but I can understand Steve's caution. Tony already made one murderous AI and history tends to repeat itself despite best intentions. "You're not?" Vision shakes his head, with absolute certainty. "I'm not Ultron. I'm not Jarvis. I am...I am." "I looked in your head and saw annihilation." Wanda walks up to him, her eyes full of curiosity and worry, leaving Pietro standing protectively behind her. Vision and Wanda look directly into each other's eyes. "Look again." "Yeah. Her seal of approval means jack to me." Hawkeye interrupts walking forward to join us. "Their powers." Vision say gesturing at Pietro, Wanda and I- which causes the twins to look at me confused. "The horrors in our heads. Ultron himself. They all came from the Mind Stone, and they're nothing compared to what it can unleash. But with it on our side..." "Is it? " Steve asks "Are you? On our side?" "I don't think it's that simple." Vision says quietly, his eyes confused and deep in thought. "Well it better get real simple real soon." Clint mutters. "I'm on the side of life. Ultron isn't. He will end it all." "What's he waiting for?" Tony asks. Vision responds, his answer straightforward but still chilling. "You." "Where?" "Sokovia. He's got Nat there too." Clint answers, and I woop on the inside glad that we found where Natasha is...alive. "If we're wrong about you..." Bruce says slowly, his voice ominous. He moves closer, with some serious eye contact game with Vision. "...if you're the monster that Ultron made you to be..." "What will you do?" Visions tone isn't evil, but I can't place it. He doesn't sound scared of Bruce (or the hulk) and he doesn't sound like he wants it to be a intimidating either. Banner doesn't reply but simply lets his threat of the hulk hang in the air. The tension seems to build until Vision  breaks off. "I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique. And he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the 'net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others." "Maybe I am a monster." His mechanic eyes look down at his hands, unsure. "I don't think I'd know if I were one." I look away from vision, sadness clutching my heart, to see Tony look away aswell.  "I'm not what you are. And not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me." Suddenly the vision turns on his heel, holding out Thor's hammer to its owner. Thor takes it off him hesitantly and his eyes dart around looking at us shocked. My eyes are wide, unbelieving, as I slowly nod my head. "But we need to go." Vision finishes as he walks out of the room, leaving everyone stunned in shock. "Right." Thor says, tapping his hammer and walking after vision with a dazed look on his face (Probably concerned for the throne of Asgard.). "Well done." He pats Tony on the shoulder as he passes. "Three minutes. Get what you need." • Disclaimer: I don't own anything marvel such as plots and characters that belong to them. Only my own ideas and OC.

Persuasion: part 9- Back into the fight
Pietro Maximoff x OC Based around avengers age of ultron • ( warning: There is a scene that involves blood and murder it is in italics) "Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time. My contacts all say he's building something." Nick fury tells the group. Clint's daughter runs into the room with a Piece of  paper in her little hands. She goes round the table and gives it to Natasha. Walking across the room, towards Tony playing darts, I notice it is a cute drawing of a butterfly.  "The amount of Vibranium he made off with, I don't think it's just one thing." "What about Ultron himself?" Steve asks leaning on the doorframe. Grabbing a dart I throw it at the board before Tony, smirking at him, only just missing bullseye. He narrows his eyes at me. "Ah. He's easy to track, he's everywhere." Nick fury replies. Next to me Tony picks up his dart. "Guy's multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit. Still doesn't help us get an angle on any of his plans though." " He still going after launch codes?" Tony asks, Throwing his dart at the board. It lands with a thud next to my own. "Yes, he is, but he's not making any headway." "I cracked the Pentagon's firewall in high school on a dare." Stark says, turning to look at fury. I snort. "Yeah, well, I contacted our friends at the NEXUS about that." "NEXUS?" Steve asks Before Fury can reply, Bruce answers, "It's the world internet hub in Oslo, every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth." "So what'd they say?" Clint questions from the kitchen, Fiddling with a dart. "He's fixated on the missiles, but the codes are constantly being changed." Tony walks past me and reaches to pull out the darts. "By whom?" He asks. Suddenly Barton's dart shoots past us landing on the bullseye sharply. Tony and I both look behind us at Barton, who shrugs smirking. "Parties unknown." "Do we have an ally?" Natasha asks hopefully. "Ultron's got an enemy, that's not the same thing" "He has friends?" I mutter sarcastically. "Still, I'd pay folding money to know who it is." Fury continues. "I might need to visit Oslo, find our "unknown."" Tony says as we move into the main room, after our humiliating darts defeat to Barton (not that we had a chance, though it DOSENT make the loss less sad.) "Well, this is good times, boss," Natasha says crossing her arms, "but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that." "I do,"'Nick fury replies, to which I raise an eyebrow. "I have you." Everyone flicks glances at each other, dubiously. "Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. Ultron says the avengers are the only thing between him and his mission. And whether or not he admits it, his mission is global destruction." "All this," he says gesturing at Barton's loving home, " laid in a grave." Out of he corner of my eye I see Clint look at Fury a sad look on his face. It must be heartbreaking to think about you home, your family, destroyed. I've been there...I make a mental note to protect Barton so he can come home again. So his kids don't loose their dad, and his wife Doesn't loose her husband. Screams pierce the air. "Mom?" I gasp, jumped down from the tree. I run through the long grass, the blades whipping my little bare legs. When I get to the path to my house, the gravel bites my feet. I didn't think to put my shoes back on. Biting back tears I run down to the door. My brother painted it blue 2 months ago, the paint already peeling, and it reminds me again of the empty space in me now my brother is gone. Why would he bother to paint the door my favourite colour if he was leaving? Another scream breaks through my thoughts, the blood curdling sound high and female and coming from inside my house. And then silence.  The only sound is the door creaking as I push it open with both hands. Tiptoeing down the corridor, I'm now glad I didn't wear shoes the sound would have brought attention to my presence. There are no lights on in the house, only a dull yellow colour floating lazily through the window from the setting sun. I turn into the kitchen, reaching to touch on the light. My fingers touch something warm and wet on the wall. I turn it on. There's blood on the walls, on the light switch and on my finger. "Katie..." "Mom?" I whisper, jerking my head to the floor. She is sprawled on the tiles and I notice how old and fragile she looks . One hand is putting pressure on her side, the other is just lying beside her. Running to her side, I notice that her side is bleeding slightly . "Mom..what..who did this?" I ask, with my hands over her own. The wound isn't deep. "My little princess, I've come to take you to join your brother!" My head snaps to the door, where a man stands in a dark trench coat, I can't make out his features. "He misses you. I miss you." He says, his words dripping with sweetness. The light reflects off a small pin of a octopus of so escort on his coat. "Get away from us! I don't know you!" I screech, my hands out to defend my mother and I. At the time I didn't know what my powers could do, but I had to defend my mother somehow. "Oh Katie... The witch has made you forget me.." The man says bitterly, chuckling. He walks towards me stepping over my step fathers body. I hadn't notice him on the floor before, a single bullet wound in his head. My step father had never shown much love to me but I didn't want him to die.. Gulping back tears, I glare at the man. "Go away!" I growl, looking him straight in the eyes that are so familiar. "That's no way to speak to your father, Katie." I look at him in shock. He reaches out to touch me. " GET BACK!" I scream pushing him away. White light shoots from my palms as my father is pushed backwards roughly, slamming into the wall. He falls like a rag doll, unconscious, to the ground. The room is  silent again. "Katie... Go up stairs and back a bag..only essentials...quickly now..." My mother rasps, pulling out a phone. I jump up, my nerves wired and dart to the door unsure about what I just did. I don't look at my dad as I passed him, but my step fathers body and more specifically the emblem of an eagle in a circle on his shirt. "So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard." Nick fury finishes, sitting on a chair. "Steve doesn't like that kind of talk." Natasha says innocently, and I smile (partially at the banter, partially because the banter is returning to the team again instead of this tension filled group.) "You know what, Romanoff?" Steve replies trying  to keep a straight face and Natasha smiles mischievously back at him. "So what does he want?" There is silence to Nick fury  question before Steve speaks up. "To become better. Better than us. He keeps building bodies." "Person bodies. The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we're outmoded. But he keeps coming back to it." Tony adds. Next to Natasha Bruce looks down at the girls drawing, and I smile a bit at how comfortable they look together. "When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed." Natasha sighs "They don't need to be protected, they need to evolve." Bruce Says quietly, still looking at the drawing in thought. "Ultron's going to evolve." "How?" Nick fury asks "The vibranium." I guess, tugging on a strand of hair. "Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?" • "I'll take Natasha,Clint and Katie." Steve says walking with me and Stark. "Alright, strictly recon. I'll hit the NEXUS, I'll join you as soon as I can." Tony replies. "If Ultron is really building a body..." I mutter "He'll be more powerful than any of us. Maybe all of us. An android designed by a robot." Tony says, ruffling my hair. Dodging out the way I run ahead of them, out the doorway. "You know I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me. " "I'll drop Banner off at the tower. Do you mind if I borrow Ms. Hill?" I hear fury say behind me, hearing another voice to my right I look to see Clint and Laura talking quietly. "...re-flooring that sunroom as soon as I get back..." Smiling to myself, the mental promise in my mind to keep Barton safe (not that he needs my help) solidified, I walk out of the front door.  • From the jet I watch Steve jump over the railing and land on the roof of the U-gin Genetic Research Lab roof. "Two minutes. Stay close." Caps voice says through the comms unit. Clint flies the jet upwards, as I listen into the conversation inside the lab leaning on his seat. Behind us Natasha is reloading her gun. "Dr. Cho!" Steve's voice comes through comms. "He's uploading himself into the body." Helen chos voice is quiet and she's breathing heavily, she must be injured. I flex my fingers angrily, wanting to hit Ultron for hurting the innocent scientist. It could have been Pietro or Wanda but I can't see them hurting innocent people. After all the only reason they volunteered to Strucker in the first place was revenge for their parents and city. "Where?" "The real power is inside the cradle. The gem, its power is uncontainable. You can't just blow it up. You have to get the cradle to Stark." "Did you guys copy that?" Steve asks us "We did." Clint replied "I got a private jet taking off, across town, no manifest. That could be him." I say, tapping at a screen. "There. It's the truck from the lab." Clint says, pointing below the jet, his own device showing the cradle inside. "Right above you, Cap. On the loop by the bridge. It's them." "three with the cradle, one in the cab." I add, watching my screen. "I could take out the driver." Hawkeye suggests. "Negative! If that truck crashes, the gem could level the city. We need to draw out Ultron." "How? He Doesn't exactly like talking to us cap'"  I ask. In response, I watch as Steve jumps onto the roof of the truck. "That would work." I mutter. Steve swings the door forward but Suddenly the door to the truck blasts open, causing it to break and fall on the road. Cap falling down on it "Well, he's definitely unhappy! I'm gonna try and keep him that way." "You're not a match for him, Cap." "Thanks, Barton." "He's probably just Hungry, give him a snickers bar." I say, moving to get my guns. After placing them in my gun holsters on my thighs, I jog back over to see that Cap is now fighting Ultron on the roof. Steves shield is throws back and forth, in what looks to be a deadly game of frisbee. The shield lodges into ultron, who pushes it off. It falls away from cap, leaving him unarmed and unable to defend himself when Ultron blasts him off the front of the truck. "Nat, your up." Clint shouts behind him to Natasha. Steve lands on the windscreen of the truck, and the robot driver punches at him through the glass. Steve rolls out of range, clinging on with one hand, before flipping round the side of the truck. Inside the jet, Natasha gets on a motorcycle, ready to drop. "Shame there's not two of theese." I sigh, marvelling at the design. "Next time kiddo." She winks, before turning forwards towards the hatch. "We got a window. Four, three...give 'em hell." Natasha drops out of the Quinjet and rides towards the truck, weaving through the traffic skilfully. I jog lightly back to the front of the jet after closing the hatch. "I'm always picking up after you boys." Natasha says in the comms, after picking up Caps shield and swinging it onto her back. "They're heading under the overpass, I've got no shot." "Which way?" "Hard right... Now." Clint says watching the road. Natasha heads over to the truck where Ultron has Steve in a strangle, holding him over the truck side. Nat throws Steve back his shield and he uses it to knock off Ultron from him. Before Natasha can get closer, Ultron raises the road in front of her forcing her to stop. Moving the bike around she darts onto the pavement chasing the truck. "Clint, I've gotta help them somehow." "can you two draw out the guards?" Natasha asks us. Clint Looks at me "Let's find out.". The jet turns around and aims at Ultron, firing a succession of bullets at him and successfully causing the robot to file out...straight at us. "What now!?" I say panicked, and Clint just laughs at me. "Buckle up!" Without questioning, I throw myself into the copilot seat buckling the seatbelt. Suddenly he spins the jet round in the air, so fast everything a blur, shaking the robots of us. "Ugh..you could have just taught me seatbelt safety the easy way Clint.." I moan. "They're heading back towards you. So whatever you're gonna do, do it now." Clint says, bringing the jet back down. "I'm going in. Send Kat down to Cap." "Yes!" I squeal, pumping my fist. "Um... How do I get there?" "Cap, can you keep him occupied?" Natasha continues "What do you think I've been doing?" Steve says out of breath. "There on that train, I can fly low enough to get you on near it." Clint says and I nod mutely, walking to the hatch. My catsuit is bulletproof and I'm hoping it's also resistant to falling out of jets. "Ready Kat?" Barton asks. "I was born ready." I say feebly, not feeling ready at all. "3, 2, 1" the hatch opens and before I can chicken out of it, I jump out. For a few seconds I am free falling. Hitting the ground, landing safely on the ground and rolling. Standing up, I look to see the train that Ultron and Steve crashed into, coming towards me. "Okay now to get on it... Bad plan, bad plan.." I mutter and start to sprint away from the train, glancing back at it. Bending my knees as I run I get ready to jump through the hole Steve and Ultron caused on the train. I'm about to jump when suddenly my feet leave the ground, not of my own accord . Squeezing my eyes closed, I tighten my grip around the thing holding me. I feel like something hit us, or we hit it, but I am moved to the side. Then before it has started, it's over. With my feet on the ground I open my eyes and quickly shut them again when my vision spins, leaning on my carrier. "That wasn't even your first time with me draga." Holding a finger up to Pietro's face (or rather where I presume his face is) I shush him. "Pietro, darling, give me a moment please.." Pietro laughs, his laugh is a low but gentle sound. Looking up I see Wanda opposite us, her hands glowing with red mist, bending the bars. Then I notice who she's stopping- Ultron. I turn and see Steve, raising an eyebrow to ask if he's ok. Steve nods at me, and I nod in return looking back at Ultron. "Please. Don't do this." "What choice do we have?" Ultron turns away from Wanda, looking at me and Pietro. Removing myself from speedy, I look at Ultrons red eyes trying to shut his programming down. The robot looks like it's shutting down for a second before it laughs robotically. "Oh Kat, your mind games don't work on me." Suddenly he fires a blast in our direction. I feel myself being pulled to the side and I loose my footing. Ultron flies out of the train Ultron flies off. "I lost him! He's headed your way!" Steve says into the comms. Feeling a body beneath me, I look back down. "After this we can have a date, first? Not that I'm complaining.." Pietro's face smirks back up at me. Rolling my eyes I roll of speedy and stand up. "I don't do dates, Sonic." I say bluntly. Holding my hand out to the man, I pull him up. Then I walk over to Steve, ignoring Pietro's gaze. "Cap, you see Nat?" Clint asks in our ear. "Nat? What happened?" I ask Steve, as we walk down the train. "If you have the package, get it to Stark! Go!" "Do you have eyes on Nat?" "Go!" As the pair of us Join Wanda, Pietro speeds up next to us in a blue and silver blue. "Civilians in our path." Before Steve can say anything more, Pietro speeds off. "Can you stop this thing?" Steve asks Wanda. Wanda also moves to the side, and me and Steve run to the front of the train. "Kat get the people towards the back of the train, they will be safer down there." Nodding, I move backwards to the screaming people, looking at them in turn and telling them to move away. The train jars a bit and I see Steve being thrown back by a bit of rubble that crashes into his shield. Wanda brings her hands up then down a the train floor, red energy pushing into the floor. A high pitch whining sound echoes through the train, making the people around me cover their ears groaning more. Finally the train draws to a close. "Please exit in an orderly fashion." I shout sending the people out the doors safely. Finally when all the people are off me and Wanda also jump out the door. We look at each other for a moment, then nod a small smile on our faces. Together we jog over to Pietro, hunched over on a crate. Wanda touches his shoulder gently. " I'm fine. I just need to take a minute" Pietro gasps out, breathing hard and clutching his chest. "I'm very tempted not to give you one." Cap says, walking in from the side. "The cradle, did you get it?" Wanda asks him, moving from Pietro. I look at Pietro an eyebrow raised when he looks up, still out of breath. The male maximoff winks before lowering his head again. "Stark will take care of it." Steve says, as I turn back to the pair. Wanda looks shocked, and she shakes her head mutely for a second. "No," Wanda says slowly "he won't." Steve and Wanda have a long staring contest, and I feel Pietro's presence stand up behind me. "You don't know what you're talking about, Stark's not crazy." Steve says. Even I can tell he is unsure of himself. "He will do anything to make things right." No one moves, and Me and Pietro look at each other eyebrows raised. Then Steve turns away from us, his ear on his comms unit. "Stark, come in. Stark. Anyone on comms?" The comms unit is silent, no one speaking. "Ultron can't tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it." Wanda says ominously, her accent more prominent. "Where do you think he gets that?" • Disclaimer: I do not own anything owned by marvel, or any of the marvel characters.

Persuasion: chapter 8- Safe house?
Pietro Maximoff x OC [warning: there is a detailed panic attack in this chapter, so if this is upsetting don't read after the star (like this *) and then restart reading after another star(*)] "The news is loving you guys. Nobody else is." Maria Hills voice is sympathetic, but it does nothing to ease anyone. I've separated myself to a corner of the jet, the rest of the team have followed suit. There's no jokes, no smiles. Everyone's inside their own heads.. The atmosphere  severely melancholy. Tucking my legs up to my chest, I sigh heavily. I desperately need to rest, but I feel so wired. My hands are still shaking so I wrap my arms tightly around myself. "There's been no official call for Banner's arrest, but it's in the air." I flick a glance at Bruce. He looks shell shocked and I would hate to be in his position right now. I know my own nightmares are nothing compared to Bruce's experience at the hands of Wanda. He's a doctor, a scientist. All he wants is to help people. He's been manipulated by the maximoff girl to  hurt so many, to become the thing he hates, and Bruce probably blames himself. I wish there was a way to help, but the only thing I can do is not use the only thing I have, my abilities. I couldn't risk accidentally...bringing the hulk out again. My abilities are similar to some of Wandas, but I won't use them for the same reasons as Wanda. I don't understand why she's doing this, if the Maximoffs only want revenge on Stark- why join Ultrons side? He wants so much more evil than just Starks end.  "How's the team?" "Everyone's...we took a hit." "We'll shake it off." "Well for now I'd stay in stealth mode. And stay away from here." "So, run and hide?" "Until we can find Ultron, I don't have a lot else to offer." "Neither do we." "Hey, you wanna switch out?" "No, I'm good." "If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, 'cause there's still a few hours out." Clint says, flicking an overhead control. Puzzled, I raise my head. "Where  are going to?" I ask confusion lacing my voice. "A safe house." "What is this place?" "A safe house." "So we're told ." I mumble but follow anyway. For a second I stop, watching the worlds mightiest heroes trudge up to the quaint farmhouse. It's a strange sight, and oddly humanising. They look like an ordinary group of adults (if you ignore the superhero outfits). No power, no fight, no choices. I have a conflicting urge to either laugh or cry. "Kat? You coming?" Tony calls from the door of the house, pulling me from my thoughts. "Yeah," my voice cracks and I cough to cover it, jogging towards the house. "Honey, I'm home." Clint calls into the house. Honey? Perhaps this is the woman who is always clear is Clint's thoughts. "Hi." I blink back at the woman who just walked into the room. She looks nervous but a warm loving aura radiates from her. "Company. Sorry didn't call ahead." The woman looks shocked like she can't believe it's real. The couple share a kiss, startling the group. We stand to the side, unsure of what to do with ourselves and not really in the mood for group conversation just yet. Pulling on a stray piece of hair, that has escaped my ponytail, I shuffle on the spot. "This is an agent of some kind." Tony says plainly. I nod mutely, head tilted. "Guys, this is Laura." Clint says pulling away and looking at us encouragingly. "I know all your names." She smiles embarrassed, her eyes looking at the guys one at a time. Steve and Thor nod, Bruce smiles uncomfortably, and Tony flashes a smile and a small wave. Finally she looks at me, her eyes connecting with my own. I smile gently but a buzz of electricity flows through me and I quickly look at the ground. A shot of anger sparks, I hate how I can't even look at someone. Great first impression. I didn't ask for this.. "Oooh, incoming." Two children thunder into the room and Clint squats down to hug them. "Dad!" The kids squeal, bombarding Clint Barton with hugs. Dad...of course. Suddenly it all clicks into place, Clint's thoughts and images of a house and children in his head. He might have kept it a secret but he can't keep his mind of them. This brings a soft smile to my face. "Hey sweetheart r! Hey buddy! How you guys doing?" "These are...smaller agents" Tony says, trying to convince himself. "Did you bring Auntie Nat?" "Why don't you hug her and find out?" Natasha says stepping out towards the little girl. The work dedicated agent lifts the tiny girl, ruffling her hair affectionately. The rest of us watch the scene enfold. "Sorry for barging in on you." Steve says politely, ever the gentleman. "- Yeah, we woulda called ahead, but we were busy having no idea that you existed." Tony barges in. I slap his arm gently, giving him a Quick roll of the eyes. "Yeah, well Fury helped me set this up when I joined." He pauses slightly." He kept it off SHIELD's files, I'd like to keep it that way." We all nod understandingly "I figure it's a good place to lay low." Natasha and Laura start to have a convosation , but my head snaps to the side where I hear a cracking sound. Thor looks at me and Steve sheepishly as he scuffs the broken Lego house to the side. Looking at the broken home, I bite my lip. It's dangerous for us to be here. This innocent family are in danger with us being here, and us. My powers are out of control and seem to be growing, Wandas visions have made us all unstable. (*) Quickly blinking back a flurry of tears, I can feel my heart rate increase, my breathing laboured. The room feels stuffy, like all the air has been used up. I can't think. I can't breathe. I can see Natasha talking to Laura, but I can't hear her words. But I can hear everyone's thoughts. Like a sea, crashing over me. Drowning, drowning in my own ability. Turning on my heel I dart out the door again, running down the path. Looking around, the trees swirl. A deep red liquid pouring over the landscape. "B-blood.." I wheeze, desperately raking my hands rough my hair. Suddenly a weight falls gently  on my shoulder and jerk away. My mouth gaping, chest heaving. "Your alright Kiddo. C'mon deep breaths, your safe here. Everyone's safe." Tony's voice is calm and low, I'm the only one to hear his helping words. I remember Tony telling me of his anxiety attacks, it makes sense that he know how to help me. I focus on Tony, on the real objects around me not in my head. Slowly I manage to shudder out a breath. Then two, three, and four. (*) A trickle of tears fall through my eyes as I collapse into Tony's chest. I feel him wrap his arms around me, his chin resting on my head. "I'm sorry Tony..I'm so sorry..." I whisper pulling away, and wiping my face of tears. "It's alright kiddo. It's alright." • Sitting on the grass, the sun falls on my face gently warming me. From my spot I can see Tony and Steve cutting up wood in silence (I'm choosing to ignore the thick tension that seems to be growing with every chop of the axe). Letting out a happy sigh, I count my breaths. My spirits have lifted a bit, after relaxing for a while. The team has dispersed around the farm, Thor leaving completely. "Thor didn't say where he was going for answers?" Tony asks, pausing in his work. "Sometimes my teammates don't tell me things.I was kinda hoping Thor would be the exception." Steve answers, moving to get more, only looking briefly at Tony. His actions seem more forced now, or maybe it's just painfully obvious after hearing the tone of his voice. Sensing an upcoming argument, I wipe my hands on my jeans just in case I need to use my powers long distance. "He'll be back, and he'll explain himself." I say quietly, convincing myself. "We don't know what the Maximoff kid showed him." "I don't know what she showed you, I just know it made you do something stupid." Steve looks blatantly at Tony. ""Earth's Mightiest Heroes." Pulled us apart like cotton candy." Steve mutters, shaking his head. "Seems like you walked away all right." Tony says, looking at Steve. Cap stops and looks back up, a single eyebrow raised. "I'm sorry, Katie? Clint said you have a bit of a talent with children.." "Yeah, I used to help my mother at the nursery.." I say, giving a small smile. " is you wouldn't mind could you try and get Cooper to come out from the barn. I was going to try and ask Tony to look at our tractor and I don't want Cooper in the way, I would go myself but I was baking.." "It's fine, seriously. I would love to help." I say and stand up. I turn back to the Steve and Tony, when a strong wave of anger hits me from there direction. "Is that a problem?" "I don't trust a guy without a dark side." Tony says, before chopping his axe down forcefully. "Call me old fashioned." "Well let's just say you haven't seen it yet." Steve says darkly. "You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?" Tony laughs. "Well I guess you'd know. Whether you tell us is a bit of a question." "Banner and I were doing research." Tony says, all joking gone from his voice. "That would affect the team." Steve Carries on moving more wood, but Tony has stopped and is walking closer to Steve. I stand up, ready to step in between if it gets more dangerous. All I can feel is tension, anger and sadness from the pair. "That would end the team. Isn't that the mission?" "Isn't that the "why we fight," so we can end the fight, so we get to go home?" Tony argues, his voice sharp. Suddenly Steve rips apart a block of wood with his bare hands. I clap , and start to walk away to the barn. "Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die." Steve says, then softly "Every time." "Cooper?" I call, cupping my hands around my mouth. The barn is in front of me. The door is open, and inside everything is silent. A dusty beam of sunlight shines in from the window, illuminating the tractor. Perhaps he is playing on it and can't hear me? "Cooper? Where are you..." I say in a sing song voice. Is that creepy? "Miss Sheridan, you made it. " Jerking around to my left, I laugh out loud. "Fury! You nearly gave me a heart attack." I clutch my chest dramatically, then smile looking at him in the eyes. Nick Fury has been the only person I don't feel an electric buzz from my powers when I look in his eyes..or rather- eye. My only guess is the fact he only has one eye, as strange as it seems. But I don't understand my powers to begin with so I can't begin to understand the anomalies. "I just wanted a private word with you and in a moment Stark, before I talk to the others. Mrs Barton was willing to help me." Hearing this I smile, I'm liking Clint's wife more and more. "What's up?" "I've been informed that you have been discovering new powers, I just wanted to check if you are ok both mentally and physically. Being a Superhero can be tasking, I don't try to understand, but you are our youngest member and newest. I would understand if you were having problems. I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion "I'm..I'm fine." "I also have gotten word that a few days ago you had a visitor. Your brother to be precise." "How- how did you know about that? Only me and... Steve. Of course." "He was concerned for your welfare Sheridan, he said you seemed upset and wanted to know more about this man. When we couldn't bring up any information on him, this started alarm bells ringing." "Nothing at all?" I ask, tugging on my hair. "Presumably, our data has been wiped. We are trying to track your brother at this moment-" "We?" I interject "who's 'we'?" "S.H.I.E.L.D or rather what remains of it." "Fury, be careful. My brother..he mention...he's HYDRA." • Tony stark stepped into the barn, looking around the room, making his way over to the tractor. "Hello, dear." He cooed, crouching in front of it. "Tell me everything. What ails you?" Stark checked around, searching for the nonexistent problem. "Do me a favor." Fury said, stepping out of the shadows, me trailing behind him. "Try not to bring it to life." "Ah, Mrs. Barton, you little minx." Tony laughed shaking his head. "Ooo, can you actually bring it to life? Because Clint's face would be hilarious." I said, smirking. • Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters owned by marvel or the plot of  age of ultron etc etc.

Persuasion: chapter 7- swift encounters
Pietro Maximoff x OC "Stark is, he's a sickness!" Ultrons metallic tone screeches. Watching from the shadows, I feel an electric buzz flow through me. After using my power to knock out the guards on the entrance I had allowed the avengers a swift and silent entrance. Cap gives me a nod to signal our entrance. "Ahh, Junior." Tony Stark clangs down on the opposite side of Ultron, fully suited as iron man. Thor, Captain America and myself step behind him. "You're gonna break your old man's heart." "If I have to." The giant robot retorts, quite sassily. "You don't have to break anything." Steve steps in, trying to easethe tension "Clearly you've never made an omelet." "He beat me by one second." Tony's ironman head tilts towards me. "Who's cooking?" I giggle, then blush feeling ultrons attention land on me now. "Katie Ivy Sara Sheridan." His words grate against me. His eyes, pools of glaring red, analysing me. "Daughter of Elizabeth Jones and David Sheridan. The first daughter of Hydra. Tell me kitty-kat how's your brother?" My brothers old nickname sounds out and out of place. Ultrons words send a cold shiver down my spine, my usual comebacks faltering in my throats. My teammates give me odd looks, especially Steve and I look around desperately for help. Speedy, pietro maximoff, steps forward. His eyes blue eyes cold as ice on Stark. "Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable?" He gestures down below the metal platform were stood on. Eyebrows scrunched in confusion, I look down at rows of weaponary. "Like old times?" Pietro smirks, but I can see the resentment in his eyes. "This was never my life." Tony mutters, a layer of sorrow in his words. "You two can still walk away from this." Steve interrupts, directing his soothing words at the twins. Though I doubt even he can solve this situation peacefully. Pietro 's hard glare flicks away from Tony, landing on Steve and then meets my gaze. Biting my lip, I fight the urge to step behind Cap out of the speedsters vision. The maximoff is...intimidating yet something else entirely. His bright blue eyes seem to drink me in, skimming over my body, I glare back twice as hard. "Oh we will." The female maximoff, Wanda, retorts calmly. "I know you've suffered." "Blah! Heh, heh, Captain America." Ultron sneers, dragging my attention from Pietro. "God's righteous man, pretending you could live without a war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but..." "If you believe in peace, then let us keep it." "I think you're confusing peace with quiet." "I think you're being too poetic." I grumble to myself, rolling my eyes. An almost missable snort of laughter comes from opposite me. Jerking my head up, I meet pietro so eyes again as he smirks at me. Suddenly he winks, then looks away. Cheeks flaming I look anywhere but him. Only to land oh his twin looking at me in an odd way. "Yuh-huh. What's the Vibranium for?" "I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan...! Ultron lurches forward shooting at Tony, as he fires back in a blinding light. The rest of the team spring into action. Blasts of Cold air whips my hair around my face, as my feet leave the ground beneath me. Feeling dizzy and clamp my eyes shut, grabbing onto something I'm wrapped around. Just as quick as i left it, I'm back on the ground. Gracefully falling on my butt,Groaning. "Too fast, no?" An accented voice calls from right above me. Jumping,I look up into a pair a blue eyes which glow in a wild intensity. I sit and stare for a second, then curse under my breath as I realise we're a level up above where we started. Glancing down below, I see Cap aim a bunch at one of Ultrons drones? Tearing my eyes away I turn my face upwards, The man leans over me, stopping any chance of escape. My head is still fuzzy from the unexpected rush, as I try to think. Then it hits me. My ability- duh! Smiling sweetly, I gain eye contact. The familiar electric buzz flows through me. Speedy goes slack, a confused expression etched on his handsome face. (I mean enemy face. His completely dashing enemy face. Ugh.) "Help me up, please." I giggle. A flash of white light consumes his eyes, then his hand reaches out to me. Placing my hand in his, ignoring the tingle at the touch, he pulls me up. Curtsying, I grin. "Merci, chéri!" Rising on my tiptoes to kiss his check, he shakes his head coming out of the trance. Then I kick him in the chest. Grabbing the cool bar of the barrier I jump back down, right in front of one of ultrons robots. It reaches a metal hand towards me and I dodge to the side rolling. A blue blur breaks through the robot, sending it into pieces. " you know, next time you kick me in the chest I would like the kiss afterwards, draga mea." He smirks, walking towards me. Smiling sickly sweet I clasp my hands, waiting for him to get closer. This causes him to speed up to me, Smirking wider. Slowly I move my mouth towards his ear. "In your dreams, speedy." I laugh, then push white light at him from my palm sending backwards and he speeds off. Only a faint blue wisp remains, as I tuck my hair behind my ear smiling softly. A click sounds behind me. Twisting around, a grin stretched on my face. One of the wakanda men. The barrel of his gun is pointing directly at me, his hand wavering. A tiny trickle of sweat falls down his temple. He looked scared, adding to my hatred of my powers. But there was no time for me to falter. "Hi handsome" I giggle, my hands up in a calming notion. The gun lowers slightly as I step closer. Coming up to the man I put my hands slowly on his clammy  hands, discreetly placing my finger to block the trigger. Looking up through my lashes, I connect with his eyes. An unsettling  feeling in my gut tells me there's more than one person watching me. Ignoring it, I decide to finish my plan I Blow a kiss in his direction and he falls (like a log) to the ground. "Guess he literally fell for me." I say to no one. Oh, puns. Suddenly a red light fills my vision, sending an excruciating wave of pain  through my head. Hissing, I fall too my knees grabbing my head. I bite back the urge to scream and push my palms into my temples. Steeling my nerves I shift forward onto on hand, kicking my legs out at the girl behind me, Successfully knocking her down. I don't have time to celebrate before my surroundings fade away before my very eyes. • {slightly grossness warning: blood, needles and drowning.} "Hold still Katie!" A man mutters  above me, as I struggle out of his grasp. "But I hate the needles, dada!" I whine. Roughly my father pulls me onto the hospital table. Bottom lip trembling I look up at him. "They will make you very powerful Katie, you will be the last piece standing on the chess board. The queen." His lips stretch into a thin smile, a maniac glow in his eyes. "But I don't want that...I want to be normal..." My father wrist wraps around my small arm, bringing a needle to the flesh. Turning my head, I look into my brothers eyes. Suddenly his mouth drops in horror at me. And white light seeps into my vision. Warm arms encircle my waist, spreading warmth through me. I blink in confusion. The scene has changed, no longer a sterile hospital but my room in STARK tower. Placing my hands on the huggers shoulder I push him gently away. But the man flys backward landing like a rag doll on his back. His blue eyes look at me in fear. Just below his hairline, a small trickle of deep red blood. It's such a contrast to the silver tips of his hair. Pietro's eyes flutter shut, and with it my hope shattered. The scarlet liquid is gushing out now, my feet stuck to the ground. I can't move. I can't help. I caused this. Warm liquid pools around my legs, his blood. I try to scream but not sound escapes my lips. It's up to my mouth  now, my hands clawing at my throat for air. Pietros body has disappeared under the crashing waves of blood. My head slipped under, red blinding my vision. Looking into the depths, the faces of the avengers stared straight back at me. Their eyes black and soulless, faces sullen. "It's all your fault-" "Monster" "You will always be out of control" "We don't want you" "You killed us all." My head felt like it was going to explode. Their Voices pounding against the sides of my skull like drums. My hair floats around me in a dark cloud. The bright blood seems faded. I feel weightless. Everything is black, a dark cloak covering the depths of my eyesight. My eyes are heavy and tired. I'm tired.  My lungs pleads for me to let go. My last breath of air gently passed through my parted lips, like an Angels sigh. The last thing I see is my brother. Crystal clear, He watches me sink down. He was waiting for me. I smiled and welcomed my death. •

Persuasion: chapter 6- Truth Uncovered
"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch." " Ultron." Steve mutters under his breath. Feeling guilty that I didn't tell him what Tony was up to, I avoid eye contact with the super soldier. The aftermath of the attack has left us feeling vulnerable, everyone wants to blame someone to hide the fact were scared. Pacing Tony's lab, ringing my hands, I'm exhausted but I can't sleep yet. "He's been in everything. Files, surveillance." Nat shot a glance at me out of the corner of her eye. "Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." "He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodey speaks up. "Nuclear codes." I mutter, hearing his thoughts, running my hands through my hair "Nuclear codes." He nods at me, the room falls quiet as we all try to absorb this information. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." "Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Natasha questions. "The avengers extinction, he wants us deader then dead." I mutter, finally plonking myself on a seat. I slump on the table, dropping my head on the surface. "He also said he killed somebody." Steve's voice was calm but I could tell he was just ignoring his confusion and anger. Slowly I raze my head again. "There wasn't anyone else in the building." Clint says. "Yes there was." Stark speaks up, tapping his device. My hand flys to my mouth when Tony projects the hologram of his AI "Jarvis..." "Jarvis was the first line of defense. He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense." "No. Ultron could've assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy, this is......rage." Banner states, a tinge of sympathy runs through me. If it's rage were looking at, the hulk would know. Suddenly Thor strides through the door, towards Stark. He radiates danger and I spring to my feet again. The Norse god grabs Tony, raising him up by the neck with ease. Tony's hands tug at his neck trying to loosen the vice grip. "Whoa whoa whoa!" "It's going around." Clint says, referencing banners previous observation. "C'mon, use your words, buddy." Stark gasps "I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor growls. "Thor! The Legionnaire?" Cap said, trying to distract him. Luckily it works. Thor drops Tony, who breathes deeply like a fish out of water. "Trail went cold about 100 miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter." "Now we have to retrieve it, again." Cap sighs, crossing his arms across his chest. "The genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron." "I don't understand. You built this program." Dr. Cho pipes up, behind me. I jump slightly after forgetting she was here. "Why is it trying to kill us?" Stark starts to laugh, from his computer. Shooting stark a glare, he ignores my look and continues to chuckle. I look over at Steve, he looks close to snapping at Tony. It wouldn't be the first time, Their relationship is rocky. Very. Sometimes I wonder if they really do hate each other, but it's just their conflicting opinions that sometimes throws a spanner in the works. Usually being Tony who throws said hammer. "You think this is funny?" Thor accuses, his hand still gripping his hammer. "No. It's probably not, right?" Tony sniggers "Is this very terrible? Is it so...is it so...it is, it's so terrible." "This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Steve says, anger in his tone. I slowly start to edge towards Steve, prepared to stop him from hitting Stark even if he does deserve it. "No, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." His voice is more serious now as he faces Thor and Steve. The rest of us watching on the edge. "Tony, maybe this might not be the time." Bruce tries to reason "Really?! That's it?" Tony jerks around to the doctor. "You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls." "Only when I've created a murder-bot." "We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?" Bruce shrugs then shakes his head, Tony gestures to me. Thanks for dragging me in the deep end with you stark. "I'm not a science genius, but it didn't look like it." I mutter, twisting my hair. I really didn't want to be involved. "Well, you did something right. And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than SHIELD." "Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" The group sighs and mutters. "No, it's never come up." Rhodey says sarcastically at his best friend. "Saved New York?" "Wow. Really." I say, flipping my hair over my shoulder. "A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it." He turns to face us. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live long day, but..." He points upwards. "...that up there? That's...that's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?" I can't help but agree with his point, but I do believe he should have told the others. I guess I should have too. "Together ." Captain America says, standing up straighter. I admire his confidence in us, but.. "We'll lose." Tony voices my opinion, sharply. "Then we'll do that together, too." I think I saw a look of admiration in Tony Starks eyes for a second there. I really do need sleep. "Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller." • The sun streamed through the cafe window, falling in bars on the table. A gentle buzz of conversation  and coffee machines sang a happy tune around me. Picking up my cup, I drank a long gulp of my Americano. Glancing at my phone screen, I sighed deeply. 10:15am. No texts, no calls, nothing. I was loosing hope he was even coming. Fiddling with a lock of hair, my nervous habit, I closed my eyes. Basking in the sun, I relaxed my shoulders. Absentmindedly I listened to the thoughts swirling around me. " next time we go to Starbucks.." "Bread, eggs, milk-" "10 missed calls, I wish-" "He so hot.." In the background, I heard the shop door open and close. A small gust of cold air flew past me. The warm sunlight disappeared, leaving me in shadow. "Kit-Kat." My eyes shot open. A man stood in front of my table. His hair was dark brown, closely cropped with a small whiff, he was slightly muscular, around 5"10. With an impish look on his face, brown eyes  look down at me. The shape and colour reflect my own, except a coldness resides in his eyes. "You've grown Harry." I barely speak loud enough for him to hear. He grins at my comment, pulling out a chair opposite me. Winking at a girl next to my table (who practically swoons), he sits down comfortably. "Says you sis, you only used to be this high," he gestures at the ground. I tense up at his words. He hasn't seen me since I was 5. The last time he saw me was the morning before he 'ran away'. My brother doesn't notice my change and continues on happily. "Now look at you, All grown up! Dad would be proud!" My head shoots up. "Dad? Don't you mean step-dad" I frown, my nose crinkling. He laughs at me like I said something hilarious, throwing me into even deeper confusion. "Our real dad kit-Kat." He smirks at me "there's a lot you don't know." Slumping in my seat, I cross my arms. "I thought that's what you were here to do." Leaning over, his hand rests on my arm. It feels cold and unsettling. Shouting at myself I feel stupid for acting like this around my brother, my body betraying me. But still... It feels wrong. Cold. Odd. Maybe I should check his thoughts to..no. That's exactly the ideas I don't want to have. "And I'm going to," he leans back, grin returning. " where do I start.." "Well I have to be back by 12, so from the day you left." I keep my face neutral. In his eyes, I see a glimpse of...anger? But it dissapeares quickly. "Oh yeah I know, back to Your..friends.." His tone is normal, but I shiver anyway. What does he mean by that? "First of all, there's some things-things kept secret from you, and me back then, that you have a right to know." I nod slowly, desperate for him to keep going. "Our dad- our real dad not that idiot Elizabeth married," he spits our mothers name like poison. What has built up all this new hatred in him..maybe it was there all along and I didn't notice  "but dad dad. He didn't leave us." His smile is manic. "Elizabeth took us away." My breath catches. "Why.." "Our father, he wanted to make us powerful, great. He worked for a company who frowned on his ideas, thought he was dangerous to want to make us special. Then another company found him,who supported his ideas, he became one of their top scientists there. He's a genius. They gave him the support and equipment to make his dream a reality. When Elizabeth found out what he had done for us, she took us and left. But dad never gave up searching for us, even though he knew She would have twisted our minds against him and who he worked for. Have you ever wondered why you have your abilities Kit-Kat?" I stayed quiet, my brain whirling and clicking. My brother looked practically feverish, with so much anger and thirst for greatness. "Our dad gave us them. He found us that day I left, and told me all this. I went with him of course, now it's your chance. My abilities are stronger then ever, and you...you are something very special Kit-Kat." He reached for me but I flinched away, picking up my phone. "Your not like other people Kit-Kat. Your better. Stronger. Greater. They should fall beneath you." Under the table I scrolled through my contacts, landing on Cap's name first and opening a message. Looking at him while I typed. " costa coffee, main st, SOS." "What can you do?" I asked him, keeping my voice steady. "Watch this." He grins. Suddenly the white of his eyes black out completely as if he has empty sockets, adding to his menacing look. "Excuse me." The girl my brother winked at before says, turning towards me. She has a petite frame and long blonde hair. She looks like a normal student. Except..her eyes. They are fully black . "Pretty Sick isn't it!" Her voice is monotone. Tearing my eyes from the poor girl, I look at my brother in disgust. "Yeah sick is a word for it!" His eyes snap back to normal. "What? You didn't enjoy it? The look on your face kit-Kat. You looked terrified." He laughs. Standing up sharply, I pick up my satchel. "I have to go." I blurt out, mentally smacking myself. His grin slides off his face as he stands up. He's a good height above me, but I stand straight. This is still my brother. Just...not. "But there so much more I need to tell you, I'm part of the same company as dad now and one of the reason I came here was to bring you back with me. I thought you would understand?" "I'm sorry Harry, I don't want to be part of whatever it is your doing." Brushing past him, I make it about two steps when I hand lands on my shoulder. "Your friends..the 'heroes'.. There manipulating you like Elizabeth. They don't really want you with the, can't you see- there scared of you. Scared you'll reach your true potential." "Their my friends." I whisper "We're your family." He snarls, his upper lip curling. "You were. But then you left me. You left me by myself, do take all of the pain. Our step-dad.. You weren't their to protect me. You can't leave me for this long, and expect it to be the same... Your not the Harry I knew. Your blinded, you can't tell the difference between right and wrong." "Katie." Steves voice calls from behind me. The noise level in the cafe rises at the sight of Captain America, a crowd already at the door. Harrys hand squeezes tighter then let's go. Thank the gods I texted Steve, his very appearance alone is enough. Jumping on the opportunity, I walk quickly away into the crowd. Away from my brother. • "He's all over the globe...robotics labs, weapons facilities, jet propulsion labs... reports of a metal man, or men, coming in and emptying the place." Maria reads of a tablet, as Steve and I follow her from the elevator. We walk trough the messy room we were in last night and I make a mental note to clean up a bit if I get a spare moment. "Fatalities?" "Only when engaged. Mostly guys left in a fugue state going on about old memories, worst fears, and something too fast to see." "The Maximoffs twins." I mutter. "Well, that makes sense he'd go to them, they have someone in common." Steve agrees, catching my eye and giving me a reassuring smile. On the ride back to the tower, we hadn't talked apart from Steve asking if I was ok, but eventually he fell silent realising I didn't want to talk about it right then. I would have to tell him eventually. We had now reached the top of the stairs to Tony's lab we were in last night. "Not anymore." Maria says walking into the room, with Steve following "Negative. I answer to you. Yes, ma'am." Turning my head to the right, I see Clint on the phone. "Clintttttttt, c'mon We might have something." "Gotta go." Hawkeye says into the phone, hanging up. I tilt my head at him. "Who was that?" "Girlfriend." Making a cooing sound, I follow Steve into the room. "A message. Ultron killed Strucker. And he did a Banksy at the crime scene, just for us." Tony says passing me a tablet with a brutal image. Strucker lay dead, words written in blood above him. I cringed. "This is a smokescreen. Why send a message when you've just given a speech? Strucker knew something that Ultron wanted us to miss.." Natasha says, proving her awesome agent abilities. "...yep. Everything we had on Strucker has been erased." I agree, showing the group. "Not everything." Tony grins mischievously. The group gathered around the table working through piles of boxes full of files. Who knew Stark was such a safe person? "Known associates... " "Well, Strucker had a lot of friends." "Well, these people are all horrible." Bruce sighs. I flip through some papers, throwing a breeze into my face. "What are we even looking for..we're getting nothing." I sigh opening the folder on a picture of a man. "Wait. I know that guy." Tony says leaning over my shoulder to look. "From back in the day. He operates off the African coast, black market arms." If looks could kill, Steve would be a murderer. He shot Tony a look at his comment. "There are conventions, all right? You meet people. I didn't sell him anything. He was talking about finding something new, a game changer, it was all very "Ahab." "This." Thor interrupted, pointing at a black mark on the mans neck. "Uh, it's a tattoo, I don't think he had it..." "Its not a tattoo.." I murmur "No,this is a brand." Thor adds "Oh, yeah. It's a word in an African dialect meaning "thief." In a much less friendly way." Banner says from a computer "What dialect?" "Wakanada...? W-, Wa-..." He struggles, peering at the computer. "Wakanda." Steve and Tony say at the same time, looking at each over. "If this guy got out of Wakanda with some of their trade goods..." "I thought your father said he got the last of it?" "I don't follow. What comes out of Wakanda?" I twist my hair. "The strongest metal on earth." Everyone's eyes turn to the circle shield, leaning on a pile of boxes. Electric light shines on it, like it knows we're all looking at it.  "Where is this guy now?" •

Persuasion: chapter 5- unexpected guest
Pietro Maximoff x OC "Harry? Is it really you?" His voice was still the same as I rember end, and it was like a balm to my aching soul. But I still couldn't stop thinking something was wrong. It had been so many years..where did he go? Why did he leave? Why is he back now, when I've finally started to recover? "Hey, kitty-Kat, I've missed you." I could feel his smile through the phone. "Where did you go Haz..why did you leave me? Was it because I used my ability again, after you told me not too?" My voice betrayed me, cracking at the end. "Oh kitty-Kat, there's so much you don't understand.." "Well help me too!" My voice was raising, and I tried to calm my temper. A slight glow was appearing on my finger tips. Hastily I tapped them on the table, and they flickered and blinked out like fairy lights. "I can't..not on the phone." The voice went quiet and I bit my lip. "Meet me. Tomorrow. 10am, the Costa on Main Street." My eyes looked around me, paranoid of being heard. I don't know why I felt this way, but I couldn't shake the bad feeling. "I have to go Kitty-Kat. I will explain everything tomorrow, I know you'll come. See you soon sis." The line went dead. At the time I didn't think to wonder how he knew I was in New York, or how he happened to have my new phone number (Courtesy of Stark.).  • "But, it's a trick!" Clint exclaimed from a cream sofa, pointing his drumstick at mjölnir. Since when does he even play drums-Does he even play drums? "No, no, it's much more than that." Thor laughed heartily, observing the slightly tipsy man. Perched on the sofa next to Steve, I giggled. The whole of the original Avengers team was still here, as well as Sam, Rhodey and Maria Hill. I preferred it this way, it was quieter and more relaxed. It gave me the well needed rest after the stressful day. "Ah, "whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power!" " Hawkeye said, deepening his voice to match Thor's tone. "Whatever man! It's a trick." "Well please, be my guest." Clint's jaw dropped "Really?" Thor nodded, gesturing to the weapon with his arms. Giving his drumsticks to me, he put his hands around the handle and inhaled deeply. "Oh this is gonna be beautiful." Tony murmured "Clint, you've had a tough week, we won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Barton pulled. I was worried his arms were going to dislocate, the amount he was straining. After a while he gave up. "And I still don't know how you do it." Twirling Clint's drumsticks I threw them up, him catching them perfectly. "Smell the silent judgment?" "Please, Stark, by all means." Whooping, I cheered for Tony. "Go on tin can!" Tony winked at me "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." "Here we go." Steve chuckled beside me, and I giddily shushed him. "It's physics." The group laughed as Tony prepared to lift. "Right, so, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?" "Yes, of course." Thor said, leaning back casually. Sucking in his breath, Starks muscles tightened as he struggled. Exhaling, he rolled up his sleeves "Be right back." • Tony returned with a single iron man hand, after failing to pull it up again, Rhodey also put on his war machine hand. Resting my head on my hands, I laughed at them failing. "Are you even pulling?" "Are you on my team?" "Just represent. Pull!" After a while, the pair sat back down to laughter, especially Clint's. Nudging Steve, I pushed him up. He smiled at me, wiping invisible dust off his trousers. "C'mon, Cap!" I squealed, clapping. I admit it, I was a bit drunk. Steve put his hands around the hammer and bended. Suddenly I heard someone's thought flick through my mind. "Captain ass-merica." I casually gazed at Maria Hill, who looked slightly tipsy and blushing. I Coughed to disguise my laugh. A small squeak from the hammer, drew my attention back to be middle of the room. Thor's face was hilarious, panic was flashing in his eyes (and mind). The hammer had moved slightly, and Steve tried to pull again. Casually shrugging his shoulders in surrender, he sat back down next to me. I gave him a gentle punch on his shoulder, (excuse my awkwardness). "Ha ha, nothing. Ha ha ha." "And? Widow?" "Oh, no no, that's not a question I need answered." Natasha said, smiling as she shook her head. Looking up at me she grinned. "Sheridan?" "Yes! Aphrodite's child herself!" Tony smirked, as Steve pushed me up a bit. I blushed hard, stuttering. Walking towards mjölnir, I scaled it up. Closing my eyes I tried to block out Tony's scientific thoughts. How can you still be genius, while drunk? Placing my hands on the handle, I opened my eyes. Suddenly white light burst from my hands, and the groups eyes misted with white smoke. My breath stilled in my throat, as I turned in a full circle. They were frozen, like statues. I gulped hard. My powers had protected me from embarrassment on instinct, my restraint on them weakened by the alcohol. Turning back to the hammer, two breaths in, two breaths out. The hammer felt surprisingly light when I lifted it off the glass table. Looking it in disbelieve, I switched it from hand to hand. It was perfectly weighted in my hand. I felt like I could level mountains with it, and I realised that I probably could. Shoving it back down, my hands shook. Wiping my palms on my skirt, I brought my arm arms up and pushed out. It was a natural action to do, and it worked. Everyone blinked, and shook them self out of a daze. Grappling the handle of the weapon I made a straining noise and quickly let go. Quickly jogging back to my seat, everyone resumed their friendly banter like nothing had happened. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Thor frown slightly. So that makes a third avenger slightly suspicious of me. Tony and Steve, now Thor. It wasn't the best start to the team. "All deference to the man who wouldn't be king, but it's rigged." "You bet your ass." "Steve, he said a bad language word." Maria Hill smirked, and I giggled remembering what Cap' had said this morning in the battle. "Did you tell everyone about that?" Steve said exasperated, but smiling still.  "The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code..." Tony mused, still thinking scientifically. "Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints" is, I think, the literal translation?" "Yes, well that's uh, that's a very very interesting theory." Thor said standing up, his posture radiating confidence, "I have a simpler one..." Thor span his trusty weapon in his hand, effortlessly. "You are all not worthy." The team grumbled and shouted in protest, laughing. Suddenly a piercing electronic buzz screamed through, shattering the relaxed atmosphere. My hands jerked to my ears, the noise pounding in my head. "Worthy...No...How could you be worthy? You're all killers." An iron man legionnaire suit, stood lopsided near the window. It was broken and burnt, a strange creepy glow, shining through a haggard face.  A shiver ran through me. Killers...it was a direct way to say it, but we all were. A memory from my childhood, bubbled on the surface but I shoved it down for later. "Stark." Steve said sharply. "Jarvis?" Tony stark asked hesitantly out loud, pulling out a electronic device and tapping furiously. "I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or...I was a dream?" As the robot stepped forward, pain split through my skull and I stumbled. Steve, who was still beside me, trapped my shoulder. His eyes searched my face, concerned. I shook my head, trying to ignore the ringing. "Reboot. Legionnaire 06's got a buggy suit." "There was this...terrible noise...and I was tangled in... in... ...strings." Its voice hissed like a deadly robot snake. "Had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." "You killed someone?" Cap' questioned "Wouldn't've been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices." The robots voice had a dangerous tone to it and my hands balled into fists and then flexed. "Who sent you?" "I see a suit of armor around the world." Tony Starks voice was played into the room, as a recording. My head snapped to Stark. "Ultron." Bruce and I said together. Steve glanced back at me, and eyebrow raised. "In the flesh. Or, no, not yet. Not this...chrysalis." It stepped forward, unstable. "But I'm ready." The group were all stood up now, watching. "I'm on a mission." Maria and Natasha  silently took out guns, I felt an electric pulse run through me. "What mission?" Steve asked, his voice still strong. "Peace in our time." Then all hell broke loose. • Bullets flew through the air, aimed at the 4 legionnaire robots attacking us. A machine swooped towards me, and I raised my hands in protection. A ray of white shot from my palms "Back off!" I screamed. To my delight, The robot stilled. "Power off?" I ordered unsure whether it would work. Rolling to the side, behind a sofa, I watched the robot shake, then fall deactivated. "Good work, Kid." Clint said, making me jump. "Thanks, old man." I grinned. Sticking his tounge out, Clint checked his surroundings. "You get Cho to safety, I've got this area covered." He pointed to the right where Cho was shaking under a sofa with nothing to defend herself. "Stark!" I heard Cap shout, as I darted out to Helen Cho. "We are here to help" the 3 remaining robots called, still with their iron man legion features, just overpowered by a strong control. "quadrant is unsafe..Please back away..We're doing our best to protect you..." I swear I saw Tony hanging onto one as it flew past. Ducking behind the sofa, a grinned at The doctor. "Hello!" I said brightly. She stared at me. Taking a gun out from my clutch bag (always got to be prepared for random robot attacks right?), I peeked around to check it was clear. "Come with me please." I told Dr.Cho when we gained eye contact, lacing my voice with persuasion. Standing up, she grabbed my hand and I pulled her to behind a wall. I needed to help the others so I couldn't take her far. "Stay here!" I started to jog off "thank you!" I said over my shoulder. "Cap!" A blue of red white and blue shot past me, cap' caught his shield expertly and sliced a robot. "De-activate!" I scream, Aiming a beam of white mist at the last robot, watching as it sparks and crashes down. "That was dramatic!" Ultron says! Unmoved. I guess he couldn't be bothered to fight us, or he is waiting for later. Who knows what the psychopathic AI's style is. "I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to...evolve?" Ultron picked up a broken legionnaire robot, pulling its face clean off. "With these? These puppets?" His metal hand crushed the other robots face easily. "There's only one path to peace." His gaze flicked around us all, landing on me. I frowned and flicked him off. "The Avengers' extinction." Suddenly Thor's hammer steamed past, cutting off the voice and breaking the robot. I had strings, but now I'm free. I let out a breathe, I wasn't away I was holding in. "...There are no strings on me, no strings on me... The eerily electronic sound falls quiet, echoing into the distance. "Great. First  he ruins the party, then he ruins Disney." I mutter, tugging a lock of hair. •

Persuasion: chapter 4- the Unknowing
Pietro Maximoff x OC "You sure he's going to be okay? Pretending we need this guy really brings the team together." Despite her sassy remarks, Natasha was worried for her best friend. I'd tried to put up a mental block against people's thoughts, but I wasn't used to this new ability and they kept slipping through. I caught snatches "kill that quick pric....what will Laura...they need him.." Even though I was desperate to find out more, I didn't give into the temptation. It didn't feel right to know everyone's secrets and see into their minds. It gave me the chills. "There's no possibility of deterioration. The nano-molecular functionality is instantaneous. His cells don't know they're bonding with simulacrum." Dr.Cho explained "She is creating tissue." Banner sounded like a kid on Christmas morning, and I stifled a giggle. "If you brought him to my lab, the regeneration cradle could do this in twenty minutes." "Oh, he's flatlining. Call it. Time?" Tony Stark came back into the room, drawing everyone's attention, carrying a tray of drinks. "No, no, no I'm going to live forever!" Clint slurred sounding deliriously happy "I'm gonna be made of plastic." "Our own little Ken doll." I said laughing at Clint's giddiness "Here's your beverage." Tony said passing a dark drink to Clint, then Natasha, before finally passing one to me with a wink. "It's on the house Kitty-Kat." He said as I started to protest. The liquid was a dark brown colour, like melted caramel. Bubble Tea. I had only had it once before. The hairs on my arms stood on end as I was plunged into a memory. "What is it, Harry." "It's bubble tea, Kit-Kat." He answered absentmindedly, glancing over his shoulder into the teeming mass of people in our villages market square . I was too young to notice his anxious behaviour, constantly checking his back and watching the crowds. " now keep moving, we need to get home now." "But we still have money left, and I've never had 'bubble tea' before," I pouted, giving my best puppy dog look "please can I have one" . As soon as the words left my mouth, My older brothers eyes clouded over and unfocused. Striding over to the shop, I skipped after him happily. Unaware of what I had done. "Thank you Harry." I smiled, after my brother passed me my drink. His eyes returned to normal and he looked around confused. His eyes landed on the tea in my small 5 year old hands. "Katie, what did you do." He sank down to my level, hands on my shoulders. My little self, realised he was upset and looked down ashamed. "I asked you to buy me a bubble tea," I sniffed" and then you went all robotic and your eyes did the thing and...and.." Now I was crying. Sighing, my brother pulled me into his arms quickly, then stood up. "It's okay Kit-Kat. But please don't ever do it again." "But I don't know what I did!" I wailed, passerbys turning to glance at the drama. Returning to his paranoid state, my brother looked behind him quickly, before taking my hand and guiding me into a empty ally. "I'll figure it out Kit-Kat, just... Just try not to draw attention to yourself. There are some very bad people who would want to know more about our gifts, and we can't let them know about you okay?" I nodded, sucking my thumb. " I might not always be here to protect you." "And Helen, I expect to see you at the party on Saturday." Tony Starks voice burst my memory. Twirling my hair, I decided to think about it later. I was starting to really need a break after all this brain activity recently. "Unlike you, I don't have a lot of time for parties." She paused, looking up slyly "Will Thor be there?" • -5 hours later- "What did we miss?" Tony Stark asked to no one (except himself and J.A.R.V.I.S). Dropping down from the alcove I had been watching him from, i strolled over to one of the lab tables. "I'm not sure Tony, maybe the fact that you can't control this AI?" Stark span round on his heels to face me. "Were you here all that time?" He asked, a single eyebrow raised. "What does this even do?" I said, zooming on one of the screens. "Never mind.." I said turning to face him. "I get where your coming from Tony, but it could be dangerous- we've already seen what the sceptre can do. This thing, it's practically it's mind...we won't come close to understanding it." "How can we even hope to, if we don't even start?" Tony shot back. "You trust me right, Kat? " grudgingly I nodded. "It might just be what we needed. I can't- we can't protect our planet from up there," he said pointing to the sky. "But this.. This could Kat. No unexpected guests, no alien threats. Peace. Just world peace. " "World peace.." I echoed. Biting my lip, I quickly skimmed the surface of Starks mind. He really did want what he had said.. But there was something else. Something that scared him, motivated him. Whispers of "my legacy" repeated, and I pulled my self out. "What was that? What just happened? Kitty-Kat?" Tony fired questions at me, and I shook my head walking away. "See you at the party Stark!" I waved, climbing the stairs back up. Rubbing his goatee, Tony Stark rocked back on his heels, lost in thoughts. "I'll continue to run variations on the interface, but you should probably prepare for your guests. I'll notify you if there are any developments." J.A.R.V.I.S's British accent spoke "Thanks buddy." The man replied walking away "Enjoy yourself, sir." " I always do." • Unlocking my rooms door (where I lived when at the tower, which had been 24/7 the past months), with my key card, a walked in and dropped onto the bed sighing. The mattress was so warm and soft, I couldn't remember the last time I had had a moment of calm in the past few days. My life had definitely changed since coming into The team. Who would have thought I would have been going to Tony Starks party in two hours, instead of watching a whole season of Sherlock (what can I say?) by myself. Relishing in a the quiet, I kicked off my trainers before curling up on my bed. As soon as I let my muscles relax, I was dead to the world. • 2 sharp knocks echoed on my door, pounding through my head. "Ughmnnh" I groaned, propping myself up on my elbows. The knocks sounded again. Still Grumbling, I slide of the heavenly beautiful bed and rolled to the door (classy.) across the floor. Picking myself up It to glare at who dared waken my slumber. There stood Natasha, her arms carrying some black material. Flinging open the door, Her eyes scanned my appearance, and amusement flashed behind them. "You look like shit." "Love you too, Nat.' Shoving the material , what i now recognised as a dress, into my hands she smirked slightly. "The party starts in 10 minutes. Good luck with... That ." She grinned, gesturing at my look. (I call it 'half dead. Give me a break" look" ) "10 minutes? But it's only..." I glanced at my watch, eyes looking in shock. "5:50! Are you kidding me!" "I'll leave you to get started then. See you down there, sleeping beauty!" She said cheerfully, sashaying away perfectly. How come Natasha gets to be so perfect after a mission and I'm a troll? Holding the dress up, I look at it, delighted. Long sleeves, low back, ending just before the knees. It's perfect. I hope. Crawling out of my mission clothes (I was too lazy to change ok!) I slide into the soft material. Looking into the floor length mirror, I vainly look at myself. The dress hugs my body shape well, highlighting my soft curves and long legs elegantly. It's sophisticated but modern. Making a mental note to thank Natasha, my guardian angel, i sit I front of my dressing table. Applying some light foundation and power, then some winged eyeliner and mascara to extenuate my large brown  eyes. Feeling positive about my makeup, I wish silently that one day I will feel confident enough to feel comfortable without it. Roughly brushing through my hair, it cascades in its chocolate waves down to my shoulder blades. I tug on some black heels. I'm an average height, smaller then most of the team so hopefully this will give me some extra height to reach them. Striking a pose in the mirror, I'm finally ready. Glancing at the clock, I realise that I'm about to be a minute late. A rush anticipation fills me up, bubbling in me. Grabbing a small purse with my necessities, I walk out the door.  • "So I take the tank, fly it right up to the General's palace, drop it at his feet, I'm like, "Boom! You looking for this?" " Rhodey grinned, looking at Tony Stark and Thors blank faces. His grin faltered. "Boom! Are you looking..." Why do I even talk to you guys? Everywhere else that story kills." He sighed, shaking his head. "That's the whole story?" Thor asked. "Yeah, it's a War Machine story." "Well, it's very good then. It's impressive." Thor said, nodding his head to make it believable. "Quality save." Rhodey muttered. Bounding up behind the group, I threw myself into a hug on Thor from behind. Even with my heels, I can only reach his shoulders I note mentally in annoyance. "Whatcha talking about?" I smile, moving to see them all. "Rhodey was telling us about his adventures." Tony grinned, slinging his arm around my shoulders "you look gorgeous, shorty." "Thank you , I'm going to ignore the last part." I say smiling sweetly. "Grandpa was looking for you before by the way." "Grandpa?" I asked confused. "You know, the man with a plan, Americas golden boy, Captain Spangles, the patriotic one." I tilted my head. "Steve?" " I'm glad you caught on, I was running out of nicknames there." "Tony stark? Out of nicknames? The horror." I said my voice dripping with sarcasm. Excusing myself, I waved my goodbyes and skipped over into the crowds, weaving through the throngs of party guests. How did Tony know all these people? It was impossible to count all of the people on the whole floor, and I only knew a hand full of their names. The people themselves were all chatting and laughing loudly, adding that to their thoughts, it was like someone in my head with a megaphone and drum kit. Searching for Steve, my eyes flicked around.Natasha and Bruce by the bar (even from far away I could feel the flirting.), Rhodey making a group of guests laugh, Tony and Thor debating, Hawkeye on the above level on the phone, and finally Steve and I man I didn't know walking away from the snooker table. "You find a place in Brooklyn yet?" A tall, well built man, asked Steve. "I don't think I can afford a place in Brooklyn." Steve sighed. "Sup, Rodgers." I interrupted, smiling at Steve then the the other man. "Hi I don't think we've met before, I'm Katie or Kat for short or Kitty-Kat if your Stark" I said, extending my hand to him. "Sam Wilson, at your service." He said shaking my hand, grinning wide. He gave of an air of a very cool person, but a loyal soldier. "Pleasure to meet you." I said genuinely. "You too, Steve has told me a lot about you." "Oh has he now?" I said looking at Steve with raised eyebrows. Sam laughed as Steve smiled bash fully at me. "All good stuff Sheridan, of course." "Better be." I smirked. Now it was Steves turn to laugh. "Don't be fooled by her appearance, Sam. She may be small and pretty, but she can sure pack a punch." He stage whispered. Blushing I smacked Cap' arm gently. "Hey maybe we should practise fight sometime!" Sam Said. "Sounds great, you'll have to drop by sometime. It's on. " I laughed, fist bumping the man. Just then, Sam Wilsons phone started to ring and he left after a quick goodbye to answer it, muttering something about 'missing persons case'. "Oh yeah! Tony said you were looking for me before Cap', you ok?" Steves smile faltered and turned serious as he leaned in towards my ear. "I wanted to talk to you about what happened on the Jet. Are you ok? You seemed shaken." At first I thought about lying, just brushing it off with a 'it was nothing, I'm fine". But I could trust Steve, he was kind and loyal. Not to mention he would be able to spot my lie straight away. Raking a shaking hand through my hair and twirling a strand, I looked up at captain Americas concerned face. "Honestly I'm not sure what happened. I think it is something to do with my powers and the sceptres powers, almost like we were connecting some way." Steve nodded solemnly. "Or it could have been because I was weaker and less guarded, my mind was more open after using it so much in the fight. I was the weakest target out of us." I whispered, my eyes darting away. "Katie." Steve said, placing his large hand on my arm. "Your not weak, without you we might not have finished and won the fight. Your new to the official team and the first big mission is always nerve racking, you were amazing and powerful out there. But I think it would be in your best interests for us to check this out a bit more. Only if you want to though." My heart swelled at his words, and I smiled radiantly at him. • I spent the next 3 hours wondering around socialising, time flew by. My previous tiredness creeped up on me and I found myself plonked on a stool by the bar. There was less people now in the room, and my mind had quietened. I really needed to find a way to block people's minds out, or learn to control my newly unlocked ability. Next to me on the bar, my phone vibrated. My eyebrows knitted together as I peered down at the phone. I had an incoming call from a blocked number. Everyone who had my number was here now. It was probably a cold caller, but a nervous feeling still twisted in my gut. Biting my lip I pressed the answer button. "Hello?" I asked, trying to add a edge to my tone of voice. "Kit-Kat? Is that you?" The mans voice was deep with a undercurrent of mystery. My breath caught in my throat. My words refused to come out, lodging in my throat. "Are you still here Kit-Kat? It's me, sis!" I blinked back a tidal wave of tears and emotion. "Harry?" •

Persuasion -chapter 3: Starks deal
Pietro Maximoff x OC The air was strangely thick on the jet. Sure, we'd succeeded. We took down a hydra base, captured Strucker, Finally got the sceptre back. But a small voice in the back of my mind, told me something was wrong. It whispered worries in my ear, and it could be my paranoia but it looked like the rest of team felt it too. I guess it's just after fight jitters, but my whole body felt wired. A classical piece buzzed quietly from banners direction. It may calm him, but the almost unhearable noise became impossible to block out. Everything felt twice as loud. My blood was pounding in my ears, tiny thoughts spiralled in my mind. Suddenly I sucked air through my teeth, startled. Some of the words I could hear, weren't my own. Blindly grabbing at them, they only seemed to drift through my hands like smoke. Clenching my fists, eyes scrunched, I probably looked like a mad women. Honestly, I felt like I was. "Who was that girl...and the quick guy.." "At long last-" "I did that...it's my legacy.." "I never saw him coming? That punk!" "Stop." I thought "this is wrong, intrusive, rude." Twisting a strand of my hair around my index finger, I closed my eyes and tried to empty my mind. It was a cluttered mess up there, impossible to shift through easily. My head fell back against the head rest. What was happening to me? I heard her approach Bruce Banner with my eyes closed. 'Hey the lullaby worked better than ever." Black widow whispered "Just wasn't expecting the Code Green." He muttered, looking at the ground. "If you hadn't been there, there would've been double the casualties," she insisted "My best friend would've been a treasured memory." My eyes flicked to Clint Barton on a makeshift aid bench, to my left. That man... "You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear." Bruce replied. "How long before you trust me?" Natasha was staring at Banner, eyes full of sorrow and a glint of love, who avoided her direct gaze. I could read them like a book. Natasha trying to let him to let her in, Bruce pushing her away for her. Suddenly I felt intrusive, their conversation felt intimate. But it was like watching a crash. You want to look away, but you can't tear your eyes off it. "It's not you I don't trust." "Thor, report on the Hulk?" Natasha pivoted in her crouching position. "The gates of Hell are filled with the screams of his victims." Banner let out a low grumble, head in his hands. Black widow shot Thor a glare(I'm so glad I'm not Thor right now) "Eh, but, not the screams of the dead, of course, no no, uh..." He stuttered. Looking around helplessly. Catching eye contact with Steve, we both stifled laughs, grinning. "...wounded screams, mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, and uh...and gout." He finished, looking at Steve who smiled shaking his head and returned to looking at the sceptre. "Hey Banner, Dr. Cho's on her way in from Seoul, is it okay if she sets up in your lab?" Tony questioned, from the cockpit, surprising me, "Uh, yeah, she knows her way around." "Thanks," Tony turned back to the controls, speaking to J.A.R.V.I.S "Tell her to prep everything, Barton's gonna need the full treatment." "Very good sir." The robotic system replied "Jarvis, take the wheel." Humming "Jesus take the wheel" I followed Tony over to Steve and Thor curious. "It feels good, yeah?" Stark asked, looking at Thor "I mean, you've been after this thing since SHIELD collapsed. Not that I haven't enjoyed our little raiding parties, but..." "No, but this, this brings it to a close." Thor's voice was deep, but I noticed a hint of uncertainty. Like he was trying to persuade himself. After all, for someone who lived on Asgard he certainly spent a lot of time here. "As soon as we find out what else this has been used for."Steve said, his brow slightly furrowed. "I don't just mean weapons. Since when is Strucker capable of human enhancement?" "Banner and I'll give it the once before it goes back to Asgard. Is that cool with you?" Thor shrugged and nodded. Twisting my hair, I watched Stark. I had a bad feeling about him meddling with Loki's sceptre...we already knew about it mind controlling power. We didn't need Stark messing about with it, he was already to interested in my ability and he didn't know the half of what I could do now. Ever since we got back on the Jet Tony had been different, reserved. Not like him at all, but a man who had just witnessed something that shook him. He was acting normal now, but it's easy to fake a smile when your world is cracking at the edges. For using my eyes again I realised Stark was staring right back at me. Blushing I lowered my gaze back to the sceptre. It was truly beautiful, almost calling to me, A shiver ran through me, much like the ones I get when I use my ability, as I stared into the swirling blue glow. My hand started to lift towards it, realising I snapped it back. "I mean, just a few days until the farewell party. You're staying right? "Yes, yes, of course. Victory should be honored with revels." Thor nodded. "Yeah. Who doesn't love revels. Cap'n?" "Hopefully this puts an end to the Chitauri and Hydra, so. Yes, revels." When I looked back at the three, Steve and Tony were both looking at me. Both with very different expressions in their eyes. Turning on my heel I walked quickly over to Clint's side, my steps shaky. • When we landed, Dr.Helen Cho and her team rushed Hawkeye away in a blue of uniforms and rapid medical speech in Korean. A pang of worry shot through me, as I watched from the top of the ramp. Maria Hill strode up towards me, sending me a quick smile. At least she was finally comfortable with me (or more like my 'gift'). "Lab's all set up boss." "Uh, actually, he's the boss. I just pay for everything, and design everything and make everyone look cooler." Stark said smugly, waving a hand at Captain America who was now making his way over to Agent Hill. They began walking out, but when Steve passed me his hand touched my elbow, looking at me. I looked straight ahead, at another pair of brown eyes watching me also. "Kat, I need to have a word." The sceptre. How could I have been so stupid, I would need to reassure him or regain his trust. "Ok," I finally looked up at him, my voice wavering "um later, I think Agent Hill needs you right now Cap'" shrugging off his grip, I flashed him a quick smile before walking over to my bag. The jet was quiet for a moment. Then the quick footsteps of Steve jogging after Maria Hill. "Okay so here's the deal." Starks voice said from beside me. His voice startling me and ear piece. Bending to pick it up, I fumbled before finally standing back up. "Swapsies!." Tony grinned at me Shaking my head, I picked up my bag. "What are we swapping?" I said suspicious. "You tell me your gossip, I tell you me your gossip. For a teenage girl your not very...teenage girly. Isn't this what the kids to these days?" Laughing I started to walk away, looking over my shoulder. "Theres nothing I want to hear from you, Stark." "What about the enhanced, Sheridan." My steps faltered. How did Tony know I was thinking about them, him. The blue blur.i could still hear his husky voice. Glaring at myself, I turned back. "Fine." I grumbled. Tony's grin grew. "Great! Who's first?" "Tell me about the twins first, I'll answer your question after if you do your side of the deal." I smirked, crossing me arms across my chest. "You drive a hard bargain, Kat. " he strolled up to me, a blue device in his palm. "Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Twins. Orphaned at ten when... a.. A shell collapsed their building." Tony's eyes flicked down, as if in shame "Sokovia's kind of in the middle, easy to miss when your driving through it. He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neural electric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation. A bit like you but more floating objects and controlling and on the wrong side. File says they volunteered for Strucker's experiments." By now we were inside, Heading to The room Dr Cho set up with Hawkeye. I shot Stark a look "What file?" I asked. Grinning at me, I already knew the answer. "S.H.I.E.L.Ds. They updated their system after my last hacking adventure, but what with it technically being hydra and falling, it was hardly a challenge, more like a crossword." He said, making hand gestures (what looked like snakes and other one that just looked like he was flailing but I guess it was S.H.I.E.L.D collapsing). Laughing, we started walking up some stairs. When we got to the top, Tony stopped before entering. "Okay my turn missy," I tried not to look shifty "what was that whole trance thingy with the sceptre? Your not possessed right? No grudge going on?" "You should have really asked me that, before you started giving me secret information. But no I'm not possessed. " I sighed " To be honest, I don't know what happened. One second I was staring at it, the next it was like I was being drawn into the blue. "Interesting.." He mumbled, scratching his goatee. "And in the fight," I rambled on "my powers..developed? I don't know, there was white mist and I was going to try and break a bunker with it." "Did it work?" His eyes sparked with interest. "I didn't find out, Clint got hit and the enhanced.. Pietro.. Distracted me." His name sounded weird on my tongue, like a secret, a sin. "I don't know, the spectre and maximoff - maybe you just have a liking for blue misty things" he winked, turning into the first aid room, "Hey! You can't just say that and walk awa-Don't walk away from me Stark!" I growled running after him. "Stark- oh hi " I smiled sheepishly, at the group gathered with Clint and Dr.Cho. Twisting my hair I made my way over to Hawkeye, while shooting a glare at Tony Stark. Sticking his tongue out at me, I rolled my eyes giving him a "I'll get u later" look. • DISCLAIMER: I don't own marvel etc etc.

Persuasion- chapter 2: White mist
Pietro Maximoff x OC Fanfiction
“Shit!” Iron mans voice rang out through my ear piece. I jumped off the truck after Hawkeye and black widow, the force of my feet sending a small puff of white snow into the air.
“Language!” Captain America chided on instinct, his inner old man slipping out. A giggle escaped my lips. “Jarvis, what’s the view from upstairs?” Cap’ added. Rolling to the left I dodged a hydra guard aiming a punch at my jaw. Swinging my left leg out, I unbalanced him sending him toppling over onto his back. The charge of our eyes connecting tingled through me as I stood over him. “Sleep please!” I thought, watching as his eyes snapped shut. Even though I knew these men were hydra, I didn’t want to hurt them with my powers. You might think I’m weak, but if I have to use my powers against people I will. That doesn’t mean I’m willing to seriously hurt them. Leaving the man (gently snoring) I sprint off in the direction of Hawkeye, “The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield.” J.a.r.v.i.s’s posh accent replied “Strucker’s technology is well beyond any other Hydra base we’ve taken.”
Another guard was running at me now, my fists clenched as I waited for him to reach me. Suddenly A hand clamped on my shoulder, roughly pulling my backwards. Grabbing the strong hand a moved my weight forwards, bending my knees, and threw him like a rag doll away from me. I guess Natasha’s strict training really payed off. Turning to my left I looked into another steely pair of eyes. They instantly collapsed on the ground. “Three down, a gazillion to go.” I muttered, flicking my long ponytail over my shoulder lazily. “Loki’s scepter must be here. Strucker couldn’t mount this defense without it,” thors booming voice filled my ear, followed by a pause where I presume he threw some hydra guards around a bit. “At long last.” Finally catching up with Clint, I zipped behind the tree next to him, winking. “Nice of you to join us, Sheridan.” Clint grinned. “At long last is lasting a little long, boys.” Black widow remarked, as she took down 4 guards just next to us. Glancing back at her I saw more guards approaching her “Hey!” I shouted, knocking out 2 men who stupidly turned to look at me. “Yeah. I think we’ve lost the element of surprise.” Clint said, emerging from behind his tree aiming at a bunker. “Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said "language?” A cheeky grin lit up my face. “I know.” Steve sighed, “It just slipped out.” “Dont worry cap’ it was cute, you remind me of my grandpops!” I giggled, elbowing a attacker in the chest. Suddenly white light shot from my hands into the stumbling mans eyes, misting them pure white. Like a soldier he stood up tall, looking at me expectantly ( or at least I think he was looking at me). I stared back and gulped. “Well that’s knew, Kat.” Natasha said, throwing a widow bite at a group of oncoming hydra guards. “Oh and your levitating.” She pointed out casually, hitting a man between his neck and head leaving him sprawling on the ground.
When I was 4 my older brother, Harry, and I spent countless lazy days in the meadow behind our house. We would laugh and run and play. As loud as we wanted. There was no one there to stop us. The addictive buzz of freedom would intoxicate our mind, leaving us bursting with overwhelming joy. It was our getaway, our hiding spot from the big bad demons that lived in our house, under our beds, inside our farther, inside us. Out there, that’s where they didn’t dare follow us. Into the light. As the glaring ball of fire dipped low in the sky, we would sit in the outstretched branches of the old oak tree. Just watching. Savouring the last few minutes of our own personal heaven. When I was 5, they took Harry away. My farther told me he ran away, thrusting a scrap of paper with his goodbye note scrawled in messy handwriting across it. Too this day I haven’t seen Harry again. That day , I sat in the old oak tree alone. There was no sunset, just empty bleakness. The wind blew my choppy locks In front of my eyes, the once calming feeling turned harsh and stung as the tendrils whipped my cheeks. Tiny crystals rolled silently from my eyes, spilling on the ground like blood. Then the screaming started.
Perched above Hawkeye on I sturdy branch, I stared at a firing bunker in the distance. My lips were set in a grim line. Raising my hands I front me, I inhaled. My eyebrows knitted as I exhaled out, pushing through my hands. Wisps of white smoke poured eerily out of the open palms, drifting forward. It was oddly beautiful to watch, and I found my self mesmerised as the light snaked over the bunker. Below my Hawkeye loaded an arrow on to a bow and stepped out from behind my tree, firing and returning out of the line of fire. Expecting an explosion, I stopped my light streams.
Silence. Nothing happened. Eyebrows knitting a looked down at Hawkeye, watching him reload and step out again. A electric blue flash shot past, so quick it was impossible to see who or what it was, sending him flying. Gasping I jumped of the tree landing on my feet silently. “You didn’t see that coming?” His voice had a thick Slovakian accent, that left me desperate to hear it again. A cool breeze whipped past me, leaving a faint trail of blue. “What’s a beautiful girl like you doing in such a dangerous place, dragi” the voice I heard before whispered behind me. Twisting round, I glared at the man. The first thing I noticed was his eyes. Captivating blue eyes that seemed to stare into my soul. They expressed deep feelings I couldn’t place. Realising I was starring at him, I pushed him backwards. “None of your business, idiot!” I shot back When he laughed his hair tumbled, Brown roots, with blond almost white tips. The fact that he was so stunning annoyed me. Raising my hand to my ear I opened my mouth to speak, when suddenly a shot went past me slashing into Clint. “Clint!” Natasha and I shouted at the same time, as the archer went down. Black widow reached his side before me, starting to apply pressure at the wood and bandage it. Looking up I looked for the fast man, to see nothing except trees and snow. “We have an enhanced in the field.” Steve’s voice broke my thoughts of the silver haired man. “Clint’s hit!” I interrupted, my voice desperate. “Somebody want to deal with that bunker?” Natasha grumbled behind me. Suddenly the hulk soared out of no where towards it, smashing it to smitherens. “Thank you.” She politely said. “Stark, we’re going to need to get inside.” “Im closing in.” Blocking out the convosation, I went to Clints side. Gently turning his head towards me I looked into his eyes. The familiar buzz. “Barton, stay calm. Ignore the pain.” I whispered, scared of hurting him more. Slowly Hawkeyes moans ceased and he looked calm.
I had the constant uneasy feeling of being watched. “The enhanced?” I vaguely heard someone ask in my earpiece. “He’s a blur.” “All the new player’s we’ve faced, I’ve never seen this. In fact, I still haven’t.” Steve muttered “Clint’s hit pretty bad, guys. We’re gonna need evac.” Natasha said her voice laced with worry for her best friend “You and Stark secure the sceptre.” Black widow then turned to me. “Thanks Kat, can you help me get him to the jet please.” Natasha asked me, holding the archer upright. Joining her, I wrapped Clints free arm around my shoulder and we began moving towards the jet. Using my persuasion, made sure we weren’t bothered by anymore guards. I soon as the got in close range, they fell into a standing trance doing nothing. •
“Find the scepter.” “And for gosh sake, watch your language!” “That’s not going away anytime soon.” •
Disclaimer: again I don’t own anything to do with marvel etc. Etc. Anything unfamiliar is my own

Persuasion- chapter 1: Running
Pietro x OC
We all have choices about who we are and what we do. There’s never only one path. You and only you decide what your fate is. But what if it was more difficult to find the right answer? If you had the chance to manipulate strangers minds, would you? You can make someone dance around, sing at the top of their lungs, or put a bullet in their best friends head. A gift they called it. To me it was a Pandora’s box- to unleash my powers would send the world into chaos. So I try to keep it locked inside. But temptation is too strong sometimes. • I run, and I run fast. Feet slapping the ground, spraying crashing waves of murky rain water around my legs. My breath wheezes out in white clouds in front of me. The erratic beat of my heart fills my head like a drum. I never realised how unfit I was until I was running for my freedom. A sharp pain shoots through my side causing my speed to falter as I press down desperately at the ache. It’s no use. Doubling over I wince. ‘Not good, not good…’ Straightening my torso I observe my surroundings. Frantically looking around, my eyebrows scrunch up. I’m lost. Very lost. There’s no one around me to ask for directions and I can’t afford to stop. Looking behind me I glare at the emptiness behind me. Maybe they gave up the chase? Doubt crawls into my head, reminding me of who they are. Who I am. They would stop when they nearly have me. My muscles groan and shudder in distaste as I try to return to running. The world starts to blackened at the edges and I rapidly shake my head to concentrate. I won’t let panic consume me. Suddenly a blinding beam of white light fills my vision, and I automatically cover my eyes against the glare. Slitting my eyes I peer through my fingers, I look at the source of light. A cab! Blocking out the dull numbness, I jog forwards waving my hands at the driver. “Hey! Hey!” I shout, with no effect. The car continues to rumble forwards closer to me. It’s so close I can see the driver. An older man with short greying hair and kind brown eyes. The idea hits me like a slap- his eyes! I gulp, pushing down the tinge of regret threatening to rise. I hate use my power to manipulate people for my own benefit. The car continues to come at me. Closer and closer. I have no choice. Its my only chance to escape. Striding into the road in front of the car, Our eyes connect. “please stop!” At first I think it hasn’t worked. I brace myself for my death. Raising my hands, curling up, eyes slammed shut. Then the sound of the engine stops. “Are you ok?” A male voice echoes out into the street. I blink back. Then sprint to the side door, flinging it open into the night. I throw myself in. I’m tempted to relax back into the plush seats, the warmth of the car lulling me to embrace my exhaustion. But I sit forward, wrapping my arms round my shivering frame. “Please drive!” I beg him, my voice cracking. The man stares back at me, unmoving. Sighing I use the last of my strength to lace my words with persuasion. “Please Drive!”
The man snaps back to the front, gripping the wheel strongly, and starts the car. Or tries to start it. A hollow emptiness fills me in the silence of the cab. I was so close. Smoothing the invisible creases on my jeans I mentally prepare myself. S.H.I.E.L.D were the good guys right? But that doesn’t explain the heavy sinking feeling in my heart at my capture. They wouldn’t hurt me- I’m good too! Realising I’m trying to convince myself, I desperately cling to the fact that I am not evil. I can’t be. I tired so hard not to be. I used my powers in self defence, I didn’t mean for it to happen. The last time I used my powers like this was 15 years ago and I swore I would never use the again because of it.
Twisting my hand in my lap absentmindedly I shiver as the cold feeling of dread dances around my heart. A dull click of the door snaps me back to the present. Bitter cold air floods through the open door and seeps into my bones. Placing my hand on the drivers shoulder, our content again. “Thank you for your help, I’m sorry I had to involve you.” A soft white glow flickers and fades in his eyes as the charm breaks.
“Katie Sheridan?” A man questions from outside. I know he already knows the answer. Swivelling in my seat, I drape my legs out the car and shift my weight forward to get out as gracefully as I can. “Depends on who’s asking.” I mutter at the ground, unwilling to look at the man. “I think you already know the answer to that Sheridan.” The voice is playful, friendly almost. Glancing up I take in the sight of two men who I last saw battling on the invaded streets on New York. Plastering on a fake cocky smirk I spread my arms. “Is a teenage girl that much of a threat they had to send out two valuable members of their hero squad to get me? Or are you boys just saying hello?” Hawkeyes (who I presume spoke)lip twitched slightly at the corner, like he was fighting the urge to grin. He never put made a move to put down his bow and arrow though. I guess I had found the person behind the broken get away cab. Flitting my eyes to the wheel of said car I noticed a single arrow protruding out of every tyre. “Nice aim.” I nodded approvingly at Hawkeyes excellent marksmanship. Earning myself a laughing smile and a wink.
“Miss Sheridan, are you willing to come with us back to HQ now. You will be safe with us ma'am.” Captain spangles assured me. As much as I appreciated his old fashioned respect, I couldn’t believe his words. Wrapping my arms around me again, I blew a loose strand of brown hair from my eyes. “The fact that S.H.I.E.L.D have been practically hunting me for the past 15years doesn’t match up with your statement Captain.” I sighed. A look of shock flicked across Captain Americas (gorgeous) face, Hawkeye just snickered. “I think we’re gonna get along just fine, kid.” Clint muttered to me. At the time I was to busy being cold and tired to notice how Clint talked as if I would be spending time with them. “How did you know that?” Steve asked baffled. “Well you just confirmed my suspicions Cap’,” I tilted my head to the side “and I know when I’m being stalked. I haven’t used my powers majorly since I was only 4 and then as soon as I slip up you guys are on my tail? It’s quite obvious S.H.I.E.L.D never really left me alone again.” The two men had a decency to look ashamed, even though it wasn’t their fault. I pregnant silence fell between our small group, and I became once again aware of my tiredness I had suppressed. Raking a shivering hand through my long hair I looked up at Steve and Clint. “If it means sleep and warmth I’ll come with you guys, but this doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.” “That’s great miss, we’ll call an agent to collect you right away,” daringly he looked in my eyes “I promise you won’t be hurt Katie.” Hawkeye nodded behind him, looking up from his mobile he had just pulled out to call the agent.
I felt safe with The captain and Hawkeye. Maybe it would work? “Oh and can someone fix this mans car? It seems to have a flat tyre. 4 in fact.”
8 months later
“Awh, come on Kat! It’s for science!” Tony stark whined at me, flailing his arms around. Fighting the strong need to laugh, I bit my lip. If I didn’t act serious I would never get through to Tony. “Stark I already told you all how much I hate using my powers, once i start it gets hard to stop again. It makes me feel manipulative.” Tiny beads of sweat rolled down my forehead as I squirted refreshingly cold water into my open mouth. Tony Stark had caught me during a training workout with Steve and Natasha (aka black widow and not as scary as you think. We hit it off when I managed to keep up with her during a one on one training fight. Thank you mum for teaching me how to survive attacks!) and was insisting I needed to train my powers as well, mainly because he wanted to watch. I knew one of the reasons I was training with the avengers was because eventually I might get to join them on the big league. The reason I wasn’t already an avenger was because Steve, Clint and Natasha all insisted I needed more training and were very protective of me because I am the youngest member at 19 years old. I also refused to use my powers except when necessary for Bruce and Tony’s experiments and to show to Fury what I am capable of. It’s silly of me to refuse still when I’m no longer in hiding, but I hate how it makes me feel like I’m using people and I’m afraid of hurting the people I love if I use it on them.
“Maybe you should start training your powers more Katie. Your ready to be an avenger.” Natasha interjected. “Great not you as well!” I wailed, feeling like it was 2 against 1. “Steeeve please tell me you don’t agree with the tin can too!” I cried, making my best puppy dog eyes at Steve, ignoring Starks protests about his new nickname. The captain scratched his neck awkwardly avoiding my look. Exhaling heavily I put my hands up in surrender. “Your all mean.” I huffed. “ tell me something I don’t know,” Tony said in a sing song tone “now do your magic kitty-Kat!” Turning towards Steve and Natasha i nervously tugged at my chocolate brown hair. “Does one of you mind…? ” I let the question hang in the air. “You don’t have too-” I started. Steve stepped forward offering me a smile “I’ll do it Katie.” “Excellent!” Stark grinned clapping his hands together, as me and Cap’ walked over to the centre of the training room. Keeping my gaze on the floor I twisted my hands. “Sheridan,” Steve placed a hand on my shoulder, “you can do it.” Nodding forcefully, I got into a fighting stance. Steve also prepared himself. “Right children, play safe now. We want a nice clean fight- 3, 2, 1,” Natasha spoke loudly from the sidelines. We were both still for a moment, calculating. Suddenly Steve lunged forwards at me, arms forward. Grunting, I twisted to the right out the way using my small frame to my advantage against his powerful one. His reflexes were sharp and he gave me no time to recover, as his hand pulled me from behind so that were facing.
Our eyes connected. I concentrated. Feeling a slight connecting charge of my power, I inhaled. “Stop!” I whispered in my mind. Usually I speak aloud, but it was like my battle instinct had kicked in. I was trying a new tactic, but I wasn’t sure if I was capable of making it work. Stevens hand was still wrapped around my forearm. But then Captain Americas face fell to a neutral expression, his hands falling to his sides. I breathed a sigh of relief. I did it. “Okay now shake my hand and smile.” I thought, Steve acted on the order. If I could persuade my enemies in mid battle to not fight then I could protect a lot of people. Maybe my powers had benefits… “Now please tell Tony stark he is mean and owes me!” I commanded for the last time, watching as Steve turned towards Stark and repeated my words. Natasha laughed as Tony pouted and muttered something about 'for science’. “Thank you Steve.” I told captain sincerely, then focuses on severing the charm. At first he seemed a little dazed and confused, but then his face lit up. “Did it work then?” He asked. I was just about to answer when another mans voice spoke for me “It sure did. Now let’s hope it keeps working.” Fury stood at the entrance of out training room, in his usually black coat, a glimmer of pride in his eye. The rest of the avengers (Bruce, Clint,Thor) stood behind him all smiling at me. A warm fuzzy feeling of overwhelming love and happiness grew in my heart. “Welcome to the avengers Sheridan,” my jaw dropped “ Now Suit up. Lokis sceptre has been located and your going with the team to get it back.”
