a/n: happy holidays everyone!!

Lets it play out, whether because he trusts you to handle it yourself or simply to observe your reaction. But as soon as he sees you looking uncomfortable, he smoothly interrupts your conversation to help you escape. He wonders aloud if you would’ve been as hesitant if it had been you and him under the mistletoe. Smirks and leaves you with a promise for next time.

Malleus, Rook, Kaeya, Dottore, Getou, Sugawara

Fails to even register the mistletoe. As soon as he sees someone's face moving way too close for comfort towards you, he immediately jumps into action with a set jaw and scathing remarks. Demands to know what's going on and, even though the explanation makes him go red in the face. It doesn't stop him from making threats, though, and his intense glare is more than sufficient to scare that person away. After they leave, he sheepishly looks at you, at the mistletoe, then back at you before spouting some rambled excuses that have you granting him a kiss to put him out of his misery. Absolutely glows red after, and he makes sure to watch you like a hawk after this to make sure this doesn’t happen with anyone else.

Riddle, Sebek, Scaramouche, Cyno, Iwaizumi, Kageyama

Zooms over and either chucks the mistletoe far, far away or crushes it in his fists. Goes into a cocky monologue that makes the other poor soul regret walking near this area at all. He wraps an arm around your shoulders tightly in a stubborn show of dominance until they finally leave. There's some residual sulking after, but he perks with just a light peck on the cheek from you (never mind that that's not quite enough to satisfy him). He spends the rest of the day hovering around you and wing for some more sweet affection.

Leona, Floyd, Diluc, Gojou, Oikawa, Nishinoya

Wouldn’t let this happen in the first place. No way would he be caught lacking at such a critically romantic time of the year. You’re kept within his sight at all times, whether you realize it or not. The only time you and another person come within 5 feet of a mistletoe is when he just so happens to already be standing there, beckoning you over with a smug expression on his face.

Jade, Heizou, Al-Haitham, Tighnari, Nanami, Akaashi

Assuming this happens before you start dating, he immediately launches into the most elaborate plans possible to set up another mistletoe encounter, this time for the two of you. He doesn’t do anything in the moment to stop it, either because he didn’t realize what was happening or because he feared jumping in would upset you, but he quietly broods over it for the rest of the day, glaring at the lucky but grossly undeserving other.

A pair of lips delicately brush your cheek. Your eyes flutter open, groggily blinking the sleep from your eyes as you slowly register the owner of the offending lips. To no one’s surprise, it’s Dazai’s smug face that beams back at you, grin softening as he teases, “Look who fell asleep again~ If you weren’t so cute, I might be offended y’know?” His playful pout causes you to giggle, your boyfriend already helping to make waking up so much less vexing than usual.

Retaliating to his teasing remarks, you attempt to ruffle his messy tuft of black hair but find that his head is sadly more than an arm’s length away, much to your dismay. Looking back down at your disheveled bedhead fondly, Dazai pulls you into his arms as you release a few indignant retorts. The movie you two were watching had been in its closing scenes, but when he looked towards you to ask your thoughts (and ask why you’d been so quiet after literally the first thirty minutes), he was met with your very cute, very endearing, very much asleep expression, eyes shut and mouth slightly ajar. Your head was adorably leaned against the crook of his neck, and he would prefer not to admit it, but he had spent more time than he realized just admiring your dozing features silently, appreciating and marveling at this human who made him feel so loved. Past Dazai would have scoffed at a serious romantic relationship that didn’t end in double suicide, but right now, the thought of not being able to spend peaceful moments like this with you was the most excruciating punishment he could possibly imagine. How could he imagine someone else when even just your sleeping face was so incredibly adorable to him?

Your freshly-awake ramblings brought him back to the present. Dazai lets his fingers drift and find its place loosely running down a stray strand of your hair, twirling it cheerfully as he listens to you continuing on.

You suddenly stop your rant, staring at him with an amused expression on your face before you gently prod his side, “What’re you so deep in thought about?” You pondered the possibilities, “Could you be thinking about what to eat? I’m pretty hungry too after that nice nap!”

“No, no,” Dazai dramatically denies your question, waving his hand dismissively, “Well - I’ll never say no to a snack, but I was actually mesmerized! You just look so cute when you’re sleepy~”

You playfully roll your eyes, nudging him with a teasing “uh-huh.”

“Is that why I can get away with falling asleep around you?” your smile is warm as you meet his eyes, and Dazai’s heart quickens just slightly, “I told you that you can wake me up since I sometimes fall asleep before I realize. I appreciate you always taking care of me though, Dazai. You’re a very good boyfriend for that~”

Your praise is music to Dazai’s ears as his lips quirk into a smirk, “Oh-ho, am I finally getting the appreciation I’ve been deserving? I’m glad you finally noticed!” Your boyfriend’s hand pats your head affectionately, and you laugh aloud as he plasters a quick sloppy kiss to your forehead.

You’re about to playfully call him out for his touchiness but your boyfriend’s chest immediately puffs out theatrically, “But don’t you worry! I’m self-sworn to protect my sleeping beauty for as long as I live - actually, even from the grave!”

Dazai’s sudden knightly attitude cracks you up as you swiftly duck out from under his hand. You grin widely at his antics before matching his energy with a statement fitting for a true princess: “oh, ya - uh! ok thanks buddy! so then, Sir Dazai, lead the way to the kitchen and let’s make a mid-movie - oh, never mind the movie’s over - a post-movie snack!”

Dazai’s cheers ring through your apartment as he eagerly yet still surprisingly delicately, always being careful to keep you unscathed and present by his side, grabs your hand and escorts you into the kitchen.

The plan was to make brownies. So, why is Dazai furiously beating a bowl of grainy “whipped cream” that he’d made using a combo of water and specifically granulated, not confectionary, sugar? Why is more brownie batter on cabinet doors than in the baking pan? Why is the salt tipped onto its side, spilling its entire contents into some kind of abstract shape on the countertop?

One reason: food fight. Maybe your abundant sleeping habits had finally caught up to you, but you had never felt as invigorated and actively mischievous as you had when you’d swiped some brownie batter onto your boyfriend’s face. It was worth it! You think. You thought. Dazai’s brown hues absolutely shined with mirth at your pathetic attempt of provoking him. You were prepared for him to laugh it off and call you adorable, maybe naive for playing with fire, but ultimately he would chuckle and move on. Except, that did not happen. Instead, he had immediately retaliated with an even bigger glop thrown into your hair, partly accidentally and partly to be a li’l gremlin, and oh boy, it just escalated from there.

The whipped cream Dazai had whipped up for “quick ammunition” was quickly used up - Dazai scooped it, and the heap had seemed to grow impossibly bigger with every additional spoonful. Currently, his smile was widening and creepily stretching ear-to-ear as his starry eyes zeroed in on your vulnerable form.

The ruthless battle continued for a while, but after finally agreeing to a truce, you both couldn’t help but stare at the resulting mess with equally blank stares.

“Mm... okgoodnightbabe! I’ll see you in the morning!” You almost trip over yourself as you flee, throwing a cursory glance at your incredulous boyfriend before giggling and rushing to close the bedroom door before he can follow. Dazai’s whining carries through the solid wood, but you playfully call back, “I’ll give you anything you want - just pleasee do the cleaning! And if it’s too much, come to bed and we can deal with it in the morning together, ok?”

You could clearly picture Dazai’s pout in your mind as the sound of his footsteps fades towards the kitchen. Smiling fondly, you quickly change into your pajamas and hop into your shared bed to wait for his return. However, listening to the distant clanging of bowls and whooshing of the tap water proved to be an effective lullaby, and you couldn’t help it as your eyes began to flutter and eventually stay closed.

By the time Dazai finishes cleaning, the dark night sky was starting to brighten and mix with the warm oranges and reds of sunrise. He quietly opens your bedroom door and is met, not really to his surprise, by your sleeping lump of a body. Dazai’s brows furrow slightly, but he quickly notices the open book laying by your form and realizes that you had been up waiting for him. He could also tell you by the blankets messily strewn around you - usually you preferred having them wrapped around you like a tight burrito.

At that, Dazai lightly chuckles, his heart warming at the thought. He takes his time putting on a fresh set of clothes and rolls his eyes as he ever-so-gently tucks the blankets over you. The bed shifts as he climbs in carefully, but Dazai quickly freezes as you start to mumble quietly. Your words are inaudible, even as Dazai strains his ears to hear any (possible) secrets that you could be spouting. Shifting restlessly, you roll around and suddenly shoot out your arm, making an interesting grabby motion. Dazai almost lets out a laugh as he wonders what in the world you could be looking for, but his eyes widen when you make contact with your boyfriend and immediately calm down, hand gripping his shirt loosely.

As your body relaxes, Dazai feels a wide smile creep up his face, adoring and almost grossly soft. And he lets it. He just can’t help himself - he leans in and places an affectionate kiss on your forehead, lingering there before pulling back and squeezing next to you under the covers. He shifts your arm into a more comfortable position, and as you unconsciously flip to face him, Dazai’s eyes soften into a sweet but intensely warm chocolate brown. If you had been awake to open your eyes, you would have witnessed a rare but genuine sight: your boyfriend’s peaceful expression illuminated by the quiet sunlight of dawn, his eyes deeply staring into yours with endless messages of comforting assurance and happiness, and his lips subtly quirking into a tenderly loving smile shared only for the two of you.

a/n: more last-minute valentine’s hcs for any simps out there (shh bc im one of you lol)

Leviathan:

He pretends he’s not curious about what you do for valentine’s day by claiming he has lots of valentine’s day game events to participate in

But when you ask if he’ll be busy on the day of, he immediately yelps out “uh- nope, nothing at all! w-why, did you wanna do something together??”

Levi isn’t actually expecting you to say yes

Poor bby had already resigned himself to another year of binging anime and being forever alone

He’s so hype now, and he’s already blushing as he imagines all the romantic tropes that could happen with you (making a stuffed bear together? exchanging heartfelt gifts?? a kiss at the end of the day??? levi can no longer compute)

Whether you two end up watching a movie together or just spend the day playing valentine’s themed games, the only thoughts running through Levi’s mind are on how to make a move

Should he put his arm over you now or after this scene ends? Is he supposed to say something right now? Gah, what if you think he’s a no-good, deadbeat, awkward, internet-obsessed loser after this?!

But all of his worries are yeeted away when you casually lean your head against his shoulder

His face explodes in red and he’s not sure what to say, but as you begin talking about how you really love hanging out and being with him, he feels like he’s about to pass out

“N-no way... you’re serious right now? I mean, I like you too, of course! S-so that means you have to spend even more of your time with me from now on, ok?”

He’s a blushing mess as he says that, but his heart nearly explodes out of his chest when you enthusiastically nod and smile

The next day, he gloats to his brothers and makes sure to set your next plans in stone as soon as possible

Lucifer:

Also tries to act unconcerned over you and this human holiday

Except he secretly enjoys watching you have fun, so he gets you any chocolate-making supplies you need even if he scoffs at first

Fully expects himself to be the first to receive chocolate

But as he watches, one by one, all of his brothers receive chocolates from you before him, he’s less than pleased

He becomes grumpier as the day goes on, especially after Mammon rubs it in his face (”Woo, look what they got for me! As expected for The Great Mammon! Don’t feel too bad that they didn’t give anthing to you hehe”)

Lucifer just hovers in your vicinity the whole day, making it pretty obvious that he’s almost desperately waiting for something from you

Is about ready to give up and decide human traditions really don’t mean anything when you shyly pull him aside

You hand him the special chocolates with a poison apple filling that you’d made for him, and he almost wants to laugh at how ridiculous he feels now

“You have some nerve to make me wait. Now, how will you make it up to me?”

Even more stupefied when you respond with a love confession

A blush dusting your cheeks, eyes demurely glancing away from his then back, the nervous smile playing on your lips... Lucifer’s heart is taken right then and there

He lets out a chuckle and teases you for your shy moment, but he’s the one who takes a tentative step forward

Tentativeness quickly turns to confidence, though, as he gives you a chaste kiss on your forehead

“Well, well, I can’t say I’m displeased to hear that from you. It should go without saying that I return your feelings, so you had better never make me wait like that again... unless you want to receive the punishment.”

Simeon:

Unlike the other two, Simeon is openly interested in what Valentine’s Day has to offer

Asks you a lot of inquisitive questions about the holiday in the days prior

You wonder why he doesn’t just ask Solomon, but then again Solomon probably treats it more as an opportunity for messing with people than a day of love

He learns about the gifting tradition and also how love confessions are often told on the day of

So Simeon sees it as a perfect opportunity for him to pamper you a little

He already makes a cake specially for you, so when you present him with chocolates before he can give it to you, he’s pleasantly surprised

Athough, considering your not-angel-level cooking skills, the chocolates might not have turned out the best

“These look.. a little misshapen. Oh, I know! Why don’t I help you make some tomorrow? I always love spending time with you, sweetheart~”

You accept bashfully, but you still need to confess to him!

Especially after he hands you the cake with a sweet smile, you force yourself to speak up

valentine’s day hcs for bakugo, todoroki, and takami

a/n: happy valentine’s day <3

Bakugo:

Ok so he starts off thinking valentine’s day is a trash holiday meaning nothing to him

But then he overhears you joking with your friends about how sad and chocolateless you’ll be

So ofc he immediately pulls out his phone to google homemade chocolate recipes

Tests the recipe two days before and is surprisingly really good at it?

Like making chocolate is such a delicate process, but he monitors the temperature and timing like he’s taking care of your future child

His dad might help him too!! A nice family bonding experience with bakudad tearing up over his son’s rare display of thoughtfulness

also i just realized boys traditionally give chocolate on white day not valentines lmao, but yall pls lemme continue with bakugo making chocolates cuz this is cute af :)

Baugo even makes them into cute animal shapes and shit, you’d never expect it from him

Except he chickens out before giving them to you directly

After watching you like a hawk for a moment alone, he can’t bring himself to do it knowing he’ll end up a blushing mess by the end

So he leaves them on your desk anonymously, alongside a note stating, “for (name): if someone else takes these i’ll find you and i’ll kill you”

It’s pretty obvious who they’re from lol, so you scan the room for him immediately after reading the note... but he was already looking at you

If you two are already dating, he definitely just pushes them into your hands with a gruff but fond, “here. these are for you, idiot.”

Also (bc maybe you weren’t expecting bakugo to be soft and make chocolates) when you give him a present in the form of a cute teddy bear or your own chocolates, he’ll grumble about why you gotta be so cutesy and “dumb-looking” as he receives his gifts

But when you visit his room a week later, you can’t help but notice a certain teddy bear peeking from under his bedsheets

Todoroki:

Never really celebrated valentine’s day before so he’ll be lowkey confused on what to do

Asks Midoriya for advice but the green-haired boy gets too flustered and rambly to give coherent advice

So he ends up going the traditional route with a flower bouquet and dinner

Todoroki very formally asks you to be his valentine beforehand

“(Name), would you do me the honor being my valentine?”

He says it so solemnly, and he’s watching you carefully too, like he’s searching for even a miniscule reaction from you

He doesn’t show a blush until you tease him for sounding like he’s reciting a marrage proposal

Just a teensy bit of a pink hue that creeps onto his cheeks

Plans the day out carefully, wanting to make sure everything is perfect for you

Todoroki thinks he’s being subtle when he asks you your favorite color, flower, and type of food in the days leading up to the holiday, but he’s really not lol you can tell he’s taking mental notes

He puts so much effort into preparing that you can tell his hands are shaking slightly as he helps you out of the car and into the restaurant

Loosens up after you grab his hand with a sweet, reassuring smile

Any present you give him will be graciously received with a small but genuine smile

“Is this for me...? Thank you, I’ll be sure to treasure it.”

Takami:

Endless complaints about how lonely he’ll be in the week leading up to it

Yeaaa mans is not very subtle

“Man, if only I had a sweet girlfriend to give me chocolates and spend the day with,,,”

Cue the heavy sigh and golden eyes glancing meaningfully into yours

Acts more romantic than usual in the days leading up to Valentine’s

He takes you on as many dates as he can and is more publicly affectionate than he already is, with lots of handholding and playful kisses to your forehead and cheek

Basically showing off the beautiful s/o that he gets to spend Valentine’s Day with lmao, similar to an ostentatious bird preening itself

Hawks initially feels a bit worried knowing that he’ll still be busy on Valentine’s Day, but your reassurances that you understand ease him up

Nevertheless, he decides while patrolling to pay you a quick surprise visit

But he ends up being the one surprised when you whip out the wing-shaped chocolates that you’d slaved over for him

His grin is impossibly wide as he sweeps you into a warm hug

“I’m so lucky to have you, dove! Ah, and be ready for tonight, because good girls deserve their reward~”

After his shift ends, he doesn’t think he’s ever flown faster than when we goes home to you that night

And so you spend a sweet time with Takami

Lots of laughter and teasing while cooking dinner together, and you play some valentine’s themed music that y’all have a mini dance party to

The rest of the night is spent in each other’s arms (also possibly getting up to some spicy business tehe)

Akaashi Keiji:

F = Feelings (When did they realize their feelings? How did it change their behavior towards you?)

Akaashi quietly observes you for a while

Your little tics and reactive expressions ingrain themselves into his brain until he can close his eyes and picture your face almost perfectly

You’re studying together one day, and it starts off with the standard frequent side glances and an endearing awkwardness

But at some point, he feels himself leaning towards you subconsciously

Not in an obvious way, Akaashi just suddenly felt the urge to scootch closer to you or maybe to brush away that stray piece of your hair that had come undone

He immediately jerks himself back with a mildly troubled look on his face (on the inside this man is having a whole-ass existential crisis)

You tilt your head as you glance at him, and that’s when he knows

Akaashi’s already familiar with your different expressions of annoyance, sadness, happiness, etc., but your face right now was so innocent and clueless and cute and precious - he just felt an overwhelming urge to tell you about all the warm, helpless feelings you give him

He doesn’t, of course, because Akaashi at least tries to plan these things out

His realization doesn’t change his behavior a lot (he’s as sarcastic, chill, and straightfoward as always), but he does start doting on you more

He asks if you got enough sleep last night, sometimes offers to share his lunch with you, even gives you his jacket when you were shivering a little

Pure boi just wants to take care of you; it makes him feel more connected and might just be how he hints at his feelings to you

J = Jealousy (What makes them jealous? How do they deal with jealousy?)

Normally a pretty chill dude that you wouldn’t think ever gets jealous

It’s true that Akaashi definitely has complete faith in you and knows you can handle yourself

He also tends to internalize when it comes to feelings like jealousy because he knows they’re not rational

But that still doesn’t stop him from paying extra attention when you’re talking to other guys

Frowning, he monitors your situation from a distance. You might think he’s not paying attention, but the moment he sees signs that you’re uncomfortable or that the other person is getting too comfortable with touching you, he intervenes

Akaashi’s got skills galore at interjecting himself into conversations, and now he’s calling upon all of them plus his passive aggresive expertise

“(Name), please introduce me to this person. As your boyfriend, I’d really like to know who your acquaintances are.”

Narrows his eyes at the other person when he says “acquaintance”

Highkey throwing all the shade right then, but even after you introduce him, he subtly ends the conversation and pulls you away (after which he feels much more relaxed and comfortable)

Basically admits it if you tease him for being jealous

“Yeah, I was. Is there a problem with me feeling protective of you, love?”

O = Over (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

If Akaashi at any point liked you enough to be in a relationship with you, he will hold that respect for you forever

Even if you made a mistake, he’ll continue to believe that you deserve a least an in-person meeting before breaking up

He thinks it over a lot before making the decision to break it off

This isn’t something he’d ever take lightly, and he’d use at least a good week to process and think about any alternatives

If there’s truly no other way, he’ll text you to meet him somewhere private, like a small cafe or secluded park

Akaashi tells you his intentions as soon as you arrive; there’s no point in dragging this out and hurting the both of you further

He’s very solemn as he tries to explain, and he tries to state his reasons as clearly as possible, but his mind is a whirlwind at that moment

Respectfully leaves after a few minutes, but when he gets to the car he can feel his eyes watering and hands shaking

Bokuto helps him a lot by keeping him active and engaged with his surroundings, but Akaashi can’t help but lie awake at night thinking about you

It’ll take him at least two or three weeks to start moving on in life, but he’ll always look back on the good times you two shared fondly

Atsumu Miya:

I think his feelings will hit him all of a sudden

He’ll catch himself at home wondering what you’re doing at that moment

And Atsumu starts realizing that he thinks about you more than himself 

He’s not used to thinking about anyone that’s not himself, his spikers, or (occasionally) Osamu

So maybe he sees you struggling with something and, after teasing you a little, he helps you

And when you thank him with a sweet smile, he actually feels himself blush

All he can think is just “oh hell no i cannot be a simp right now”

After that incident, Atsumu might avoid you for a bit (he sees you in the hallway and literally spins on his heel, running into the nearest room to keep cool)

But his sets are noticeably less focused than normal, and Osamu forces Atsumu to man up and talk to you

He becomes a little more conscious of what he says to you. You notice that his mocking insults are almost fond sounding now and that he backs off a lot quicker if he sees he hit something sensitive

He tells himself that it’ll help you feel the same way

Because if being more sensitive to your feelings could make you fall as hard for him as he did for you, then that’s what he’ll do

So his words can seem cold, especially when you’re in such a fragile emotional state

But if you cry a lot, or your voice is really shaky, this man probably starts tearing up along with you

Eventually, he realizes exactly how much he knows about you, and it stops him in his tracks

It doesn’t matter if you’re in the middle of a grocery store or on the toilet; he’s determined to hear your calming voice for at least a couple minutes

He can’t believe he’s thinking this, but he even misses the way you latch onto his arm cheerfully as you go out together

Sometimes your calls won’t even have long conversations between you two; he’ll video call and just quietly enjoy your presence after a long day. You two could be doing something completely separate, but he can see your face and reach out to you any time, so all is well.

Asra:

The minute he hears you starting to sneeze and sniffle, Asra’s head shoots up

He stares at you for a solid minute, anxiously scanning your body and noting how flushed your face is

“(Name) - what’s wrong? Here, lay down and let me take your temperature.”

He already lost ya once, his heart’s been broke too many times to ever risk losing you to sickness again

Consequently, Asra hovers around you the entire time

He will force you to stay in bed if he has to, and he tries to stop you from helping around the shop too

Asra tries to ease your discomfort as much as he can using magic and his knowledge of herbs

He’ll stick by your bedside, stroking your hand gently

It’s to soothe both you and him

“Get better soon, angel. I’ll take care of you until then.”

You repeatedly remind him that it’s just a cold, but he will refuse to stop doting on you

Julian:

“Don’t worry, babe, I’m here to help!!”

He is a doctor, and he’ll remind you of that 24/7

Julian knows how to treat you, so he’ll make sure you get plenty of sleep, water, and he’ll make sure you take your medicine too

Your stuffed nose might make you feel gloomy, but Julian acts goofy and does the stupidest crap just to get your spirits up

Also suddenly becomes a master of dad jokes (bonus: he def discovered the world of dad jokes as he was looking for ways to cheer you up)

But at least you’ll never be bored

He’d do anything to make you feel better; seeing you weak and bed-ridden genuinely pains him

It’s almost a given that Julian will catch your sickness after

Being a doctor should teach him to avoid contagions, but he can’t help it! He always gives you a kiss before leaving for the day!

Julian just loves taking care of you and feeling needed, especially since you can be pretty independent

Nadia:

She goes all out to make sure you’re taken care of

Nadia makes you stay in bed, forcing you to let her attend to you

And she takes care of you very enthusiastically, which can be excessive sometimes

But you really appreciate her, and Nadia makes sure you have the best quality everything, from medicines to even the blankets and pillowcases

Want a snack? She’s already got a chef preparing a few of your favorites. Need a tissue? She brings you an entire box. Thirsty? Nadia has multiple bottles of the purest water she can find brought to you on a tray. TL;DR: Nadia’s got you covered.

“It’s my pleasure. Trust that you won’t want for anything under my watch, darling.”

After she’s done with work for the day, she unwinds by sitting at your bedside for a moment to watch your peaceful sleeping face

If you’re awake, you two can talk until early morning, conversing about literally anything

Nadia’s super easy to talk to, especially since she meets so many unique people throughout her day that make great conversation starters

She’ll sometimes give you a nice massage to loosen your stiff muscles that’re used to lying in bed all day

With how whipped and eager-to-please this man is, you could probably convince him to hand-feed you

You can get maybe a couple bites before he self-combusts with a completely red face

Innana lets you cuddle her, so that makes you feel a lot better, even as you cough and hack up phlegm

Meanwhile, Muriel is panicking and rushing to bring you tissues and more herbal remedies

So relieved when you recover; his hut is really small, though, so you may or may not have to care for a sick Muriel after

Midoriya might’ve accidentally gone into a tangent abt a specific trait of yours during that speech, but his heart was in the right place

Pulling into the parking garage that connected to your boyfriend’s luxurious apartment, you checked the time to see how late you were. You cursed, realizing that you were thirty minutes late to when you were supposed to arrive at Chuuya’s. Grabbing your things, you rushed out of your car and into the apartment lobby. Greeting the clerk there, who had by this point knew your name, you took the elevator to Chuuya’s floor. While waiting in the elevator, you took out your phone to send a quick text telling him that you’ve arrived. When you knocked on Chuuya’s door, the door flew open almost immediately and you were met with the face of your worried boyfriend.

“Y/N! What happened? I called you, but you weren’t picking up,” Chuuya questioned worriedly. His brows were furrowed anxiously, and his concerned eyes stared deeply into yours. “You had a dangerous job today too! Did something happen? Maybe I should I convince the boss to pair us up more?”

You laughed off his concerns sheepishly, “Sorry, Chuuya. The negotiations just took a bit longer than I expected because the guy wouldn’t take me seriously. You don’t need to worry about me though, you know I can handle myself.”

Chuuya groaned, shaking his head angrily, “Yeah. I know you’re strong, but I still get worried. You’re too innocent for this job, Y/N.” He heaved a sigh, pulling you into his apartment. You smiled sweetly at him, thanking him for his concern. It was comforting knowing that someone had your back, and Chuuya’s protective tendencies were definitely endearing. He rolled his eyes, blushing, “I need to take care of you, that’s all. Let those shady men underestimate you, and then be ruthless when you take everything from them.”

“Mhm, and I’m sure you’ve got a lot of experience with people underestimating you, knowing your height,” You teased, sitting down on his couch as you tugged his hand to pull him down beside you.

“Hey! You’re not one to talk, you know,” He grinned, setting a hand on the top of your head and leaning into your face playfully. You smirked, quickly darting forward to leave a cheeky kiss on his nose. Chuuya blinked in surprise, but then laughed as he leaned forward to capture your lips fully, “Don’t be such a tease, babe, now I gotta get the real deal to be satisfied.”

You giggled happily, content with being able to spend time with your boyfriend. Both of your schedules were usually packed full, so any time you could spend together uninterrupted was always a special treat. Chuuya stood up, stretching leisurely, and went into the kitchen as he said, “I got a special wine in a couple days ago for us. I think you’ll really like this one.” He rummaged around in his cabinets and took out a bottle of dark red wine. Your eyes sparkled excitedly, and you bounced over to help him pour two glasses of the wine. You gasped in shock when you saw the label. You recognized it as one from a pricey wine store that you’d looked through for a possible gift.

“Chuuya, this had to be really expensive! Are you sure it’s okay?” You exclaimed guiltily.

He gave you a nonchalant glance, “Yeah, of course. I saved it just for today.” He paused, hesitating slightly, before continuing with averted eyes, “And I thought it’d be fitting since this is our first night in a while to spend together.”

You furrowed your brows, but thanked him with a sigh. Chuuya spoiled you endlessly, and it made you a little guilty, but this was how he showed his love and you’d be damned if you didn’t appreciate him for it. Even if you and Chuuya were busy, you both made efforts to have time for each other, and it just made the time you spent together that much sweeter.

“I missed you, babe,” you pouted sadly, peering up at him.

Chuuya chuckled fondly, “Right back at you, but let’s not worry about that. We got a little break, and I’m gonna treat you like a princess tonight.”

Grinning excitedly, you accompanied him to the dining table, where you sat down and picked up a wineglass. Taking a sip, your eyes widened comically when you tasted the wine on your tongue. It was perfectly sweet, with just the right amount of acidity and fruitiness. You could tell he chose this one based on your tastes because he usually preferred a more acidic wine than this one.

“What do you think?” Chuuya asked eagerly, leaning forward in anticipation.

“I think it’s perfect,” you replied with a bright smile, “You really are the cutest, babe.”

Chuuya sputtered, rearing back in offense, “Wha - Hey, how is this cute?? I’m trying to be romantic and this is what I get?”

You just laughed, leaning back in your chair and taking another sip. “Sorry, sorry! I appreciate everything, Chuuya, it’s all just perfect tonight.”

As you drank your glasses of wine, and another, and another, you both talked about everything from work to Chuuya’s latest quarrel with Dazai to just exchanging sweet, appreciative words. You conversed late into the night, eventually getting ready for bed. After changing into your pajamas, you sat on the couch and put on a movie, waiting for Chuuya to finish brushing his teeth. Chuuya walked in and took a seat beside you, placing an arm behind your shoulders affectionately. You watched the movie together, making fun of the cringey moments and smiling at the wholesome ones. About an hour into the movie, you leaned against Chuuya sleepily as you let out a big yawn.

“Tired?” Chuuya questioned, smiling lightly as he pushed back a strand of your hair that had fallen into your face.

“Mmm...” you conceded lazily, “Let’s go to bed.”

To your surprise, Chuuya swiftly lifted you into his arms princess-style and carried you to his room. You cried out in surprise and giggled a little as you asked him to let you down, but he just grinned mischievously, “I don’t think so. C’mon, just let me spoil you a bit more, darling.”

Setting you down on his bed and tucking you in, Chuuya slowly turned off the lights and climbed in next to you. You turned your body towards him, admiring the outline of his body for a moment. His chest rose and fell regularly, and his fluffy hair was all mussed up. After a few moments, you whispered, “Chuuya. Are you awake?”

A pause, before Chuuya answered softly, “What is it?”

“I love you.” You told him seriously. You didn’t know why you said that so abruptly, but you felt like you had to express your adoration and care for him somehow, or you might just burst with all the positive feelings you held.

Chuuya chuckled, reaching out to pull your body into his chest. “I love you too. Now go to sleep.”

Smiling softly, you placed a chaste kiss on his neck in response. You felt Chuuya’s messy hair tickle the top of your head, and you gingerly brush his orange strands back before relaxing and closing your eyes. Here, in his protective embrace, all was right with the world. You felt your heart swell with love for your boyfriend. Chuuya’s breathing slowed, but his grip tightened on you, holding you close like he would never let go. And it was in this comforting embrace that you slowly drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
