March: reflection🪞

I know it’s not March anymore and that April is almost over but I didn’t have time to put this together before 😵‍💫

Last month I tried to take a mirror selfie every time I had to go out, so I chose to use some of them for this zine. And as soon as I read the prompt for the March zine I thought of the song “Reflection” from Mulan 🌸

Zine: My favorite superheroes 🦸‍♀️✨

These are some of my favorite superheroes from Marvel & DC Comics. I started this zine in March and I was finally able to finish it yesterday ♡

Superman was my first favorite superhero because of Smallville. I truly loved watching his character development from being Clark Kent, a teenager discovering and understanding his superhuman abilities and learning about his identity, to becoming Superman and realizing his true destiny. Like, he made a lot of mistakes, but he also learned a lot along the way, and he’s so kind and truly has a good heart. So yeah, he’ll always have a special place on my heart because he inspired me so much as a 14-year-old 💙

I still have a lot to say about Superman and the other superheroes I mentioned, but I guess I’ll have to make a zine for each one of them 🤠💗 And one of Spider-Man because I can’t believe I forgot to put him on this zine but oh well 🥹

Btw, I made that Wandavision poster (last year, I think) because I was so obsessed with Wandavision 🥹

Happy aromantic spectrum awareness week!

This time I made a zine with some of the aromantic fictional characters I know. Some of them were only confirmed by their creators or the actors who played them but I still think it is nice to know that we can see them or read them and relate to their experiences. Representation is so important and looking at the experiences of these characters made me feel so seen and valid.

I don’t really know what to say, this is my first aro week and I already feel so much love and support, I’m happy with my identity and proud to be part of this lovely community. 💚✨

Fanzine: “There’s only one Tree Hill, and it’s your home.”

Omg, I don’t even know where to start. One Tree Hill is such a personal show to me. I was born in 1998, so of course I wasn’t able to watch it when it first aired because I was like 5. Also, I’m from Mexico so I don’t think it was available on tv. The point is that I started watching it the summer before my senior year, and I think it was the best time for me to watch it. I could relate SO MUCH to their experiences, I really felt like they were speaking to me. So this show was there for me until I finished high school. I finished it on my last week, and I know that because I remember that I had to study for my finals but I chose to keep watching the last season. Everything about OTH changed my life, it helped me cope with everything that was going on at home. Long story short, I’ll always be grateful for One Tree Hill, and that’s why I made this small zine. I probably should make a bigger one because I have so much to say about it. 💙🏀✨ (Now that I think about it, maybe 23 is my favorite number because of this show. 23 is a number that gives me so much comfort every time I see it, and when I watched OTH I saw it everywhere because it was Nathan’s jersey number. Omg. 🤯)

I’ve always loved Disney Channel original movies 🫶🏼 Even those who came after everyone my age stopped watching them. I kept watching them. I always find something meaningful in every Disney Channel movie, even if it’s something small. And Teen Beach Movie 2 wasn’t the exception. I watched it when I was 16 and I enjoyed it so much The songs are soooo goood! 💗 But what I enjoyed the most was Lela’s story 🥰 So I made this zine in honor of her character 👑 Lela, Queen of the Beach 🌊

Zine: 2022 - My year in books
