What if we get to Good Omens 3 and realize that Good Omens 2 just deadass happened in the middle of the Second Coming and everyone has been waiting for Aziraphale and Crowley to catch up with the program?
And just when they think they might actually be getting somewhere, Az and Crowley hurt each others' feelings and go their separate ways while everyone is facepalming in the background because these two lovesick dumbasses still aren't paying attention.
The Them and Adam are just standing there pacing or tapping and Anathema and Newt and Madame Tracy and Shadwell are all like "well someone is going to have to personally drag them over here kicking and screaming and it's not going to be me" and Jesus is like "can someone please explain the zombies to me?!?" 😱

I know the question of who was responsible for almost killing Adam is a contentious one around these parts, but I think it bears pointing out that at the end of the day, despite all the arguing back and forth about it Crowley and Aziraphale were both on the same page about going through with it regardless of which of them was holding the gun, and it was the humans who actually prevented it from happening.
Even Shadwell, who has almost zero redeeming qualities throughout this entire story, immediately balked at being told to shoot a child, and then Madame Tracy forcibly prevented Aziraphale from going through with it. They both knew that they were on their way to kill the Antichrist, and Shadwell at least had enough information to have possibly pieced together that it was the child Newt had gone to Tadfield to find—but when push came to shove, Aziraphale and Crowley were prepared to go through with it despite their misgivings and the humans weren't.
I don't know that I'm saying this makes A&C bad, or the humans better (again, Shadwell is overwhelmingly a terrible person apart from this one moment), but it's certainly one of those moments that highlights how different they are. Despite six thousand years of living among humanity, their perspective is still fundamentally non-human.

good omens characters reacting to you asking for their pronouns Go
Best ask I've ever gotten. Anon I love you
Crowley: Is a she/him and KNOWS she's a she/him, but when asked will always vaguely wave a hand and say something to the effect of "oh, y'know, whatever," regardless of his current gender presentation, and will always judge the person asking based on what pronouns they use after that. I know this because we are very much alike in this regard
Aziraphale: Is also a she/him but is more precise about "matching" pronouns to presentation. Says he/him in guymode and she/her in girlmode
Every single other angel and demon character (Gabriel, Beelzebub, Michael, Uriel, Muriel, Furfur, Shax, whoever): Do not understand that pronouns, even neutral or neopronouns, are something that needs to be asked about and not immediately intuited. Mostly because they haven't really interacted with too many new people in a couple thousand years
Anathema: Has she/her/hers in her email signature
Newt: Doesn't really think about it and would say something like "um. the male ones? I guess?" which is your sign to POUNCE and turn that boy into a he/they
Shadwell: Would kill you, quite frankly
The shitty British children: Pepper would say she/her and none of the others would answer
Maggie: Has she/they on her workplace nametag, which she would proudly point to
Nina: Would go like "Huh? Oh, like, whatever." For character foil purposes

Is there a rare pairing that you'd like to see most during Rare Omens month? 👀
Oh yes!
This event was built initially bc I not-so-secretly wanted more '60s Crowley + Young Shadwell! (Or 70s, 80s, etc lol) I thought it was lovely, this idea Crowley might enjoy time with this young man. Enough time that he left an impression where, in 2019, the Sergeant is sitting there telling modern Crowley, "How's your father? You resemble him very much." He asks after the presumed Elder Crowley, and remembers what he looks like enough to see the clear similarities (🤣) of the Younger Crowley. How long did they work together before Crowley had to cut ties!? How did that go? When he and Aziraphale are talking about reaching out to their own "agents", he mentions the Witchfinder group as though he is in regular enough contact to have them get on finding the boy with ease, and indeed Shadwell is there the next day for him. So were there phone calls and letters for other assignments?!?
*brain runs away with all the questions and possibilities*
And that's just canon curiosity. Long before the fanon shipping possibilities haha
Anyway.
I love them.
But, the event is absolutely here for any possible combo of characters who don't get nearly as much as they deserve.
One pairing I was sad I couldn't fit in the final list but I hope we'll see in "Pairing Not Listed" day is Shax + Muriel. I think in a less Second Coming plotline, those two as the new Earthly Representatives of Hell and Heaven would enjoy similar chats together like A and C did, about how their progress is going. Comparing notes! Finding what they each like about Earth and don't want to see destroyed! 😊
Thanks for the question. I really love rare pairs and will happily talk and talk and talk. 😅 I hope others get inspired this month! There's so many fun characters across both series!
