for those wondering why i have been mostly quiet regarding israel and palestine: most of the pro-palestine stuff i come across is dismissive of hamas' horrors, blatantly antisemetic in parts, and generally conflates the israeli population with their government. or worse, treats them as a monolith; it is true that there are many israelis mocking the people their soldiers are destroying. it is NOT true that all of israel doesn't care and is just totally cool with what's going on. i will share what i find of israel's atrocities, but i will not make my jewish followers feel unsafe for shit they had nothing to do with. most of the stuff i've seen that *does* acknowledge the horror is jewish bloggers who have spent much of their life advocating for palestine, now having to struggle against antisemetics coming to them, furious that they DARE to be upset at the lost israeli lives. as though they are not allowed to mourn for both sides. as though they are not allowed to be horrified by what has happened; that they can ONLY be worried for palestine and how the attack was the perfect excuse for israel to double down. i refuse to send even more hatred their way by spreading their grief further into the void; you never know Exactly who's following your follower's followers. i am glad, at least, that nobody i follow was outright celebrating. but i know that people WERE, and now they're trying to act like that never happened. so incase this wasn't clear, cheering on the deaths of Israelis does not fucking help palestine.

I am truly disgusted with the blatant racism and colonialism that manifests israel's very core. it is an attempt at a violent ethnostate, intent to not only destroy the people it seeks to replace, but fully erase them from history. i am also disgusted with the way that the left is happy to celebrate genuine terrorism if it's committed "for the right side", as if parading dead bodies and raping people does fucking ANYTHING good. as if that doesn't fuel the israeli government's chances for propoganda. as if it hasn't traumatized your jewish neighbors. there are no fucking winners in war. free palestine and protect your muslim AND jewish friends in this time, they are BOTH getting their shit kicked in by ignorant people who want to take out their anger on some random kid in ohio. we are all posting in anger here. but let's check ourselves before we post; misinformation and antisemitism weakens our voices. That comic is an imaginary version of what if they attended Japanese schools in a world close to reality.

Satan is a college student, and many other students like him and want to be friends with him.

However, he wants to spend time quietly, so he approaches and takes advantage of the quiet Natsuki.

When Satan is with Natsuki, other students are hesitant to talk to him.

Natsuki thought it strange but felt happy.

However, Satan suddenly tells Natsuki that he will be studying abroad. That was the day before he left.

From the beginning, Satan had no intention of graduating with Natsuki.

Japanese universities do not have a grade-skipping system, and in order to surpass Lucifer, Satan had to become a university professor at a young age.

However, he was worried that if he told Natsuki about this in advance, Natsuki would give up on their relationship with Satan, make other friends, and leave.

By being with Natsuki, Satan is able to spend time without unnecessary interactions with other students. He loved those days.

Satan knew that Natsuki had feelings for him, and also knew that Natsuki was too shy to tell him that.

Still, it would be boring to just say goodbye, so Satan suggested that he kiss Natsuki as a memory.

Natsuki was vaguely aware that Satan was using.

Natsuki nodded at the suggestion of kissing him, but Natsuki thought that Satan wouldn't do it.

Natsuki was hoping that once Satan left, leaving Natsuki alone, who was still nodding, Natsuki would be able to give up on the feelings for Satan.

But Satan thought that was a shame.

For Satan, the days spent with Natsuki were comfortable and had quite good memories.

If Natsuki completely gives up on Satan and is able to enjoy life without him, then only Satan will be unilaterally in favor of Natsuki.

That was an annoyance to Satan.

Soo there is something which is bugging me for a while. When WWX is in Jiang sect and is given very horrible punishment for even littlest things. Where are the elders of the sects?? Why are they not interfering?? Are they afraid of authority of YZY as a sect madam??? There are not mentioned in the novel, correct me if i am wrong. Do they even exist in Jiang Sect or is that position not there in teaching of breaking restraints and freedom.

And Wei Changze was second in command of Sect leader. Doesn't anybody have any kind of lingering affection for him. And correct YZY when she is spewing hate about him.

The classism of this makes me want to cry and pull my hair.

This is a hard one, because there isn't really that much to go in the novel that can outrightly answer your question as such. We can summarise what we do know, and come up with a plausible explanation - but it would be purely postulation of course.

With that in mind, let's have a look at what we can gather from the novel 😊

Firstly, the Jiang sect is one of the Five Four Great Sects. They are one of the most prominent sects in the MDZS universe, competing alongside other major sects such as the Jin, Lan and Nie sects (and of course the Wen sect prior to its annihilation). Even though the sect claims to be "unrestrained", there is still a sense of hierarchy within it. So I think it's safe to assume the Jiang sect does have some form of senior/elder structure, as well as numerous adults present within the sect. As the narrative is somewhat influenced by WWXs POV, it's most likely they are just unimportant to the story and have not had much of an impression on him.

So we've established there most likely are senior cultivators within the sect. Now let's look at a snapshot of what we know about Madam Yu:

Madam Yu came from the prominent MeishanYu Sect. She was ranked third in her clan, so was also called Third Lady Yu. In the cultivation world, she went by the name “Violet Spider”. Just bringing up the name could scare quite a few away. Ever since she was young, she’d had a cold personality and never came off as likeable when conversing with others.

Chapter 51 ExR

We are first introduced to Madam Yu in the above chapter, where the reader is given a clear indication of her personality. She is well known in the cultivation world and it sounds like she is feared by many. From the text, we can gather she is quite formidable and has a fiery temper to match! As such, MXTX is intentionally giving the impression of a very unapproachable woman. We get further evidence of this whenever we see her shout interact with others throughout the novel. She is very argumentative and unreasonable. It seems even her own husband and children can't make her ratiocinate when she is abusing WWX - only hindering or postponing her abuse instead.

I think the general impression we get from the novel, is that Madam Yu has a rather imposing presence at Lotus Pier and no one would dare stand up to her. There may well be people within the sect who want to help WWX and stop or at least impede the abuse he suffers, but they might be too frightened of Madam Yu's wrath to do anything about it. That being said, as we don't have proof either way - perhaps others in the sect have stuck up for WWX before, and we aren't aware of it. Although sadly I very much doubt it, Madam Yu's reputation alone makes me hesitant to think otherwise.

Madam Yu is the mistress of Lotus Pier. She sees herself as someone with almost unparalleled authority - so we can safely assume she most certainly commands the respect it deserves amongst those at the Jiang sect.

Madam Yu, “What am I doing here? What a joke that I am asked of such a thing! Sect Leader Jiang, do you still remember that I’m also the leader of Lotus Pier? Do you still remember that every inch of the earth here is my territory?...."

Chapter 56

With that in mind, who would dare oppose their sect leader or the mistress of their sect - especially one with such a volatile personality. If anyone dared to stand up against her, she would most likely kick them out for disrespecting her and her position, or punish them severely. Unfortunately Madam Yu's status awards her the right to punish the subordinates however she sees fit - even if we know it is completely unjustified and excessively cruel.

As for WWX's father WCZ, as far as I am aware, his status within the Jiang sect was referred to as JFMs "most loyal servant", not second in command of the sect. We also know WCZ was a cultivator, because he became cultivation partners with WWX's mother CSSR and left to travel the world together.

Both Jiang FengMian and his wife, Yu ZiYuan, were quite familiar with Wei WuXian’s parents. Despite this, Jiang FengMian never reminisced about his old friend in front of Wei WuXian and, moreover, Yu ZiYuan never spoke properly to Wei WuXian at all. It was lucky for him if she didn’t give him a few whips and send him to kneel in the ancestral hall so that he’d keep his distance from Jiang Cheng. Other people told him most of the things he knew about his parents. He really didn’t know much more than what everyone else knew.

Chapter 29

So we can see JFM does not mention WWX's parents in front of him - whether this is because he feels he might upset WWX or if there is another reason behind his lack of reminiscing, is of course all up for interpretation. But WWX does mention that "others" have spoken to him about his parents, which I think hints that some of the disciples from the sect might have spoken about WCZ, although it seems not very often. Perhaps others are worried they will upset WWX by mentioning his parents also. Or maybe there could be lingering feelings and animosity around WCZ leaving the sect. Unfortunately we don't really know much more with regards to WCZ, as he was only mentioned very briefly on a few fleeting occasions, so we can only speculate. Either way, even if others remembered WCZ fondly, I think the fear of going up against Madam Yu would definitely eclipse such feelings.

You're right Anon, the classism in the novel is both frustrating and incredibly tragic. It has to be said though, that although Madam Yu is very classist, it seems the sect itself was already so way before she even arrived. Given the fact that the Jiang sect already had servants and WCZs status is constantly brought up - it's evidently the case. It's quite telling that a lot of people in the fandom overlook WCZ was also a cultivator, and only remember him as JFMs servant. Tragically, even in death WCZ never escaped his status as a servant, which is surprising considering he died a free man and a rogue cultivator with no affiliations to a sect. Yes, he seemingly left the sect without any consequences. But the prejudice against him was so strong, so ingrained in society and the sect he left, that it was passed on to his own son in the end nevertheless.

MXTX has a constant theme of classism running throughout the novel. Overall it plays a major part in WWXs fall from "grace" and the crumbling of his very fragile and superficial status, that was bestowed upon him so easily and taken away even more so. Fortunately for WWX, he is a lot happier without such restraints and can live his life how he wants to, now that he is not bound by obligations and an ostensible status. WWX is free to live happily ever after, with his loving husband LWJ 💕

Ah. Hmm. Which canon even? Oh you know what, I'm going to be obnoxious and say, if you pay attention in TUA you'll NOTICE that Five totally reacts differently to Viktor than to everyone else. He smiles more. He's less insulting. There's this scene in S3 where he goes "I hate to say I told you so" and Viktor shoots back "You LOVE to say I told you so," and Five just smiles and nods! You CANNOT tell me he wouldn't have a snappy comeback if ANYONE ELSE had dared! So I know I can't convince anyone to ship them but you DO SEE they have a DIFFERENT relationship from the others, right? :P

24. how has fandom positively impacted your life?

Well. I have been writing stories since I learned how to write, and making them up for longer, but after my first child was born it was like everything shut off. I was so tired! I had no more free time! How could I take time out of my busy day to write when I could be using that time to, Idaknow, sleep? Before I could get into the habit again I started doing collection development for the library, and it was like, do you have any idea how many books are published in a year? And it's really important for more diverse voices to be uplifted. So like why do I, a white (basically-)straight mainstream-Christian (relatively-)able-bodied (not neurotypical, but come on, Anne of Green Gables was published in 1908 and she's the most perfect female-with-ADHD character ever, so it's not like THAT one's lacking) ciswoman even need to write a book? Who cares? Yes, I am aware this is a lie ones brain tells to be obnoxious, but it still made it impossible for me to actually carve out time to write when who cares?

The first step in me getting past this was the writing prompt that became "The Pipeweed Mafia Epic," which was, technically, fanfiction. It gave me permission to just HAVE FUN with writing, without thought to whether the story is Needed or if anyone's going to read it at all. Some of the only other stories I managed to get out for the next few years were ALSO fanfics. But it was infrequent, and I didn't share them. AND THEN, here on Tumblr, I saw a post for a Legion FX fic exchange and I said, "You know, I think I can do that. I should take the chance!" So I did, and ended up writing not just my assignment but also a little fic that popped into my head just in the process of me deciding what I wanted to ask for! And now I had an AO3 account, which meant I suddenly had an outlet when I saw a movie that desperately required some rethinking! And suddenly I was waking up to emails that said "You've Got Kudos!" and THAT'S a hit of dopamine, so it suddenly became so much easier to just get an idea for a silly little story I could stick on AO3 and maybe get a "You've Got Kudos!" message the next day!

So long story short, fandom helped me get WRITING again. I'm still not sure when I'll ever get back to ORIGINAL fiction, but at least the storytelling itch in my brain has an outlet!

Why are you posting Carlando and even Piarlos content if you don't like Carlos? Math ain't mathing...

well, firstly, anon, this is tumblr dot com, not maths class. i've said repeatedly, and i will say it again, that i reserve the right to be as hypocritical and insane as i want here. after all, it's tumblr - if i can't be insane and hypocritical here, then where can i?

example: anyone who watches my blog at all during a race week will know that i am NO max fan. not in the slightest. and yet i will occasionally reblog maxiel fic recs. why? well, because they're quite often quite well-written. at the end of the day, i'm a fangirl and also a bisexual disaster, so if there's a well-written gay fanfic, the chances are relatively high that i will read and enjoy it. also: i think there's quite a significant difference between fic!max (who i occasionally enjoy) and driver!max (who i despise quite passionately.) fic!max has a lot of background and nuance that can make for fascinating characterisation, and as a writer, i just enjoy that.

now for carlos specifically: please let it be known that i do not hate him the way i hate max. not even close. i am, however, a dedicated chirlie (charles girlie) and anyone who gets in the way of charles doing well is automatically in my bad books. i do try to be at least a little reasonable about it, though, and yes i absolutely do realise that a lot of major fuck-ups this season were ferrari's, not carlos' (see: silverstone 2022.) but yeah, unfortunately the way carlos has handled a lot of interviews this year really rubbed me up the wrong way, and i read one too many comparisons of carlos girlies calling him more talented than charles as well. which.... babe, no.

like i said at the start, i am fully aware that i'm a hypocrite lmao. but i'm not HERE to be unbiased. we are watching a sport - everyone is biased towards their favourites, and i'm not going to apologise for that.

and as for carlando and piarlos - i treat them the same way as i would maxiel. carlos might not be on my favourites list as a driver, but he's an interesting character to explore in fic. i am at the end of the day a writer, and i like interesting characters to explore, so yes, i am quite happy to post carlando or piarlos or very very occasionally even charlos content (because akira is the best and might convert me one day. we'll see.)

anyway! the last thing i wanted to say to you, anon, is just a gentle reminder again of the PURPOSE of fandom. it is an escape from real life, somewhere where we can come to have fun. the same rules and restrictions and - dare i say it - morals that we use irl do not apply here. they just don't! fandom should be about what makes one happy, and nobody really has the right to police that, i don't think.

so tl;dr - anon, i am here to do whatever it is that makes me happy in that moment. if that's carlando and/or piarlos, then that's what i'll do. if you have a problem with that, then i'm happy to point you in the direction of the Unfollow button, lmao - curate your experience! see what you want to see. have fun!

Hello, I've been looking at your blog for a while now despite the fact it triggers my anxiety greatly because I am also in the same fandom as you and I also (privately) support both satoryuga and stacaesar. I saw your post where you said you had been softblocked by someone in the fandom, I recognize the background color of the chat and I'm sorry that they blocked you, but I'd like to offer my own perspective. I'm mutuals with some of the people who have been exposed as having done bad things (I know, I know) but for my own safety, I can't bring myself to block any of them or unfollow or anything of the sort. If you remember back a few months ago, many people in the fandom who left a supportive reply on satoryuga's post got their accounts banned because of it, I can't risk my account being banned because I also create content that I work really hard on. I follow stacaesar and my heart hurts for her but I can only like her posts and speak to her in messenger because I fear that the others could turn on me too and I'm scared to be harassed. I know it's cowardly but I've spoken to many others who are too scared to even reblog from either of them in fear that they might get targeted just for doing that. I think that person who blocked you also might have been just trying to distance from anyone who also openly shows support or defense of satoryuga or stacaesar because I know I also am doing the same, there are people I follow who I think are nice but I can't interact with them because they're pro satoryuga/stacaesar and many of the people in my circle are very much anti. I sincerely hope that both of those girls will be okay though, I've spoken to both of them in the past and they were both incredibly sweet… Also I hope it's okay that I sent this using a fake account, please understand that I'm being watched and cannot interact with you on my real account, if there was any other kind of way we could speak privately, I would be very interested in doing that. on my main i've spoken to a lotttt of people within the fandom about this from june with satoryuga to now with stacaesar, i'm completely aware that many women in the fandom are terrified of interacting with those two and also with anyone who supports them because they don't want to be harassed or considered "one of the bad ones" for simply defending women/girls from others threatening them with rape and violence. all those accounts being banned back in june was definitely odd and honestly not to put a tin hat on or anything but there's a certain user (you know the one lol) where every single girl who has come out and said they were harassed by them has been banned. i think that same user is not only involved in the harassment campaigns against people who supported satoryuga but also gets their friends to mass report anyone who does, i had many mutuals get banned back then for things that they never did, like one of them mostly just reblogs cakes but she got banned for "promoting self harm"?? i think only 4 or 5 women/girls in the fandom who had left a reply on that post made it out of the great war of june 2022 unbanned lol

stacaesar said on that ask from magines (and as someone who followed her i was so surprised by her sending that considering all the "love everyone even the people you disagree with" text posts and positivity posts she would reblog among her figuarts posts oof) that people are more willing to block the people being harassed than the harassers and i think she's 100% on it. people are very uncomfortable by women/girls voicing bad things that are happening to them especially when the people doing those bad things are their friend/mutual/whatever so instead of being freaked out that your friend writes rape fantasy threats and sends dick pics/violent porn to a 15yr old girl, you're more freaked out that she would dare accuse your bestie who has been nothing but nice to you and instead choose to block this devious girl so you can no longer see her scandalous lies because her pain makes you feel bad and you HATE feeling bad!! lol

There is a rule in sales that roughly 5% know they want your product, 15% know they don't want your product, and 80% have no formed opinion/thinking about it. Promotion, repeated advertisement, customer services mainly work with the 80%. A person might pass a nice looking cafe many times, but finally visit it with a date.

People don't change their opinions on the spot. Especially if these opinions are challenged, especially when they are emotionally winded up. However, a seed of doubt can be planted, a new perspective remembered and tested later. Little strokes fell great oaks. It might take months, it might take years. A person will change, but the original instigator of this change won't know about the influence.

Some of the readers who came to this blog weren't interested in Jaehyun or even disliked him a little. Through association with Doyoung, my posts highlighting Jaehyun's qualities that he doesn't show during 127 group vlives, some of those readers warmed up to Jaehyun.

There are more lurkers than active participants online. They might not voice their own opinions, but their interest and participation in the fandom, with the idol group can be influenced by what they see, who they read. This is why it is more productive to write positive posts, insist on the right honest view on events, provide an alternative to "mainstream narrative", than arguing with antis or multiplying negativity with "how dare they say this and this about my bias".

Have you noticed how it happens? A stan twits without any links "another day, another attack on my bias". Moots, not knowing what's going on, start to ask the OP in the comments what has happened. The OP either answers vaguely or says he/she will DM. Oftentimes something that, say, an Indonesian anti wrote will be translated into English. The hateful message is spread thanks to the fans themselves. They themselves make everyone aware that their bias is under attack. One anti fan stirs hundred fans into a frenzy.

It's kind of like the problem with global news. When in the past people knew only about disasters in their area, that directly affected them, but nowadays media bring them anxiaty and fear for their safety talking about broken dams and fallen aircrafts all over the world. And as the world is big and someone dies somewhere all the time, a person can't have a peaceful day to celebrate.

Same happens inside the fandoms. Your own part of the fandom in your country can be completely at peace, busy with organising cafe events, but the celebration doesn't last because someone across the globe twitted something nasty about the bias.

People have eyes, if they regularly encounter evidence of the accused idol actually being a great person and an artist instead of fullfilling the painted by antis image, they won't believe slander. Antis will work as black PR, i.e. spread the name and attract attention. Their vile posts will be turned into lemonade.

Lastly, "fans represent their idol". Back to the lurkers. Positive, kind, funny fans, a welcoming atmosphere, interesting events to participate will look very inviting. "If the fans are so nice, their biases should be nice" connection will be formed.

seeing you, loving you freely, and having you all to himself like this filled his heart to the brim. it was the kind of joy that felt like soaring to the highest place with you, except he could never bring himself to accept that happiness all the way, not with the pathetic state he's inー not with the constant fear of falling eventually, and letting himself climb miles back up again like fool, just for that fleeting rush of happiness from your company.

that's he how he always heard it in his dreams. there was always a pause mid-sentence, his name poorly tucked like a prickle between your mellow wordsー a constant reminder to him that it's not real.

he's started to think that the gaps of silence before the mention of his name was actually a space saved for somebody else's, someone whom those words of yours were actually meant forー kirishima eijirou, his best friend, and the guy you like, which katsuki has known for ages.

he's seen how happy you are with kirishima. he's seen how quick your face lights up when he shows up, how easily he makes you laugh until you start tearing up, and how your gaze would always travel past katsuki, searching for his best friend instead.

"shitty-hair isn't here, dumbass." is what he'd always say before you could even ask.

katsuki's aware he's not on par with him at all. he could never make you laugh the way kirishima's able to do with ease. he can't even bring himself to confess, let alone be close to you and eventually hurt you with the abrasive nature he knows he has.

and he's suppressed these feelings too much and too long, that he's started dreaming almost every night of you and him together. every night he gets to know what it's like to love you without an ounce of guiltー moreover, to be loved by you, and it's always beautiful that katsuki wants it, but your love feels too kind, unselfish, and far too beautiful, it'd be wasted on him.

he instead settles for moments like these where he replays the dreams in his mind as if they were actual memories in reality. he basks in this afterglow, and staying there until his daze is taken over by the realization of how pathetic and pitiful he's become.

of course, katsuki doesn't have control over his dreams, but he'll stop hoping for more, he'll repress these feelings, bury them deep in his chest, and leave them there to die down, bit by bit.

he used to dread for the day your words would feel as if it's lost its meaning from being spoken too much in the dreams, but katsuki has decided he'll have that same dream over and over again if he has to, listening to your "i love you's" until they hold no meaning at allー until they only sound dull, sappy, and annoying to him.

he'll let himself dream of the same scenario every night until he's grown numb of the pain of waking up with nothing, from a dream where he had everything.

☁️ | Before proceeding, know that this will be put into heavy depth, to raise awareness, and to also speak up for not just them, but a majority of other people with the "same attitude" as her, and for many OCs who may be getting the same treatment. So I'll be covering hate, stereotyping, and anything else that is related to the main topic. If this makes you uncomfortable, then I apologise. But this needs to be said as this can get repetitive and becomes a same issue with any OC that finds interest in other CBs and such.

Let's start with the main topic: Hate Anons to Cesia, a new OC recently. This topic roles into the fact she's receiving hate for, "Acting all cute and innocent to get the badboys attention--"

As a matter of fact, this isn't just the OCs personality, but also the admin's personality. This isn't just acting and roleplaying to receive privilege to speak with San. How dare you say that to her and any other OCs, even CBs, when it's naturally a characteristic? Is she favoring and only speaking nicely to him, aka @badboysan? No. Actually, scroll through my own blog, Mia's blog, and every other person's blog to find evidence of her speaking crudely to others. What's there? Everything is a wonderful and respectful interaction; her being kind. She even has yet to have anyone dm her and provide any evidence of her acting as a privileged OC.

I've been here, running and OC, for a long time. It's coming to a year very soon, meaning I've been in the community for a fair enough of time. So I understand your concern for OCs because in the past, there were problematic OCs. However, do you see the OCs now? A majority of US are kind and thoughtful 24/7. For example:

@shin-haneul who is well-known, loved, and respected for her generous and compassionate personality, always supporting and taking care of others.

Second is @xash-axx, who's also been around for a fairly amount of time, and has been nothing but kind to others despite her concepts time from time. She's in a stable relationship, and has yet to show any betrayal, being loyal and kind, and sweet despite little interactions between me and the OC compared to the Admin.

Third is @hernameisangel-oc, a natural sweetheart who is similar to Haneul, knowing how to have fun, always supporting, and having the will to always remain calm and cheerful, posting motivational content.

And lastly, a close friend of mine is @serenityrose-oc, who hasn't been too active, but she's very sweet and filled with wonderful humour, always caring and supporting everyone when she can.

And this is only the bare minimum of OCs I've mentioned who have wonderful personality and have been in the community for a decent amount of time. And here, no one is a stranger to the history of OC trickery within the community. However, many have yet to receive discouragement and stereotypical comments of their character. Is it because we have an exception because we run other bots and because we truly are more optimistic, helpful, and supportive? So why are those new exempted from us? Or would you like me to state that it's out of jealousy that you can't receive the same interaction as her and the idol bot, or that she has more of a chance compared to you? This goes for all OCs who receive this.

As a matter of fact, you don't see recently most OCs receiving hate and back lash for interacting with other idol bots, even those with already established relationships, especially with those who become often close with others and have stronger bonds with the idol bot. So why is Cesia, among some others who may not post these malicious asks, have an exception to this? Is it just because they're the amateurs for being new and trying to start off strong and make wonderful bonds with others who also give off strong impressions? Because, my dear, you're quite in grave danger for sparking a match that shouldn't be used to light such a nasty flame from many who are not afraid to defend and even attack, for those who are quite bold.

Let's also touch the subject about stereotyping OCs in general. While Idol bots have a less harder time with this, (some others actually struggling with this then please, you are included in this, no worries) OCs tend to receive stereotypical comments about them:

You're only doing this for relationships, not the plot. 🙄

You're doing this cause you want to a privileged OC or Y/N!!!

You're doing this for the vine/trend!! Get off!

You're just pretending so you can get in his/her pants!

You're going to problematic like the others.

Do you hear yourself? Not many of us OCs actually have intentions of doing such a thing. Sometimes that's based on the character of the OC, but that doesn't mean everyone's desperate. You think anyone wants to cause drama now that the community has an abundance of people, bots, and admins hopping from one post to another? Don't you think some don't do it because they already know others will come at them like wolves protecting their pack? And to even assume some do it for relationships, not even understanding the plot they themselves are slowly bringing forth to the public to interact with? Are you really that dense to not think that far ahead? And if we really wanted it so badly, why isn't any one of us rushing like crazed animals to fend off others from a CB of our interest, huh?

Stop stereotyping all OCs because of those who were problematic in the past. Heck. Some of these new OCs are actually people who have already been in the community for a long time and are aware of the toxicity and bad reputation, but are trying to clear that up with wholesome OCs that are putting effort to put OCs in a better spotlight than one so dull and broken.

If you really want to start an argument, start an argument right now. Speak like a normal person and share your opinions rather than being so bitter to Cesia and others who come into this community wanting to actually have fun roleplaying. That's what we all are wanting. You want to continue sending backlash? Send it to me and we'll discuss it. Speak like a civilized person than agreeing with the anon when you're so dense to not think that this has consequences and horrible affects on the person running the bot who truly wishes nothing BUT peace and happiness to run their bot. Now you've got a whole storm coming for you because this is sickening to see. Just like you say it's sickening of her personality.

And please. Spread the word. This goes out to everyone in general, even groups that have an OC and more.

I've been WAITING for some management around the anti c//a community

(Seriously thank you for this blog. Makes me feel less bonkers for being like.. one of the 20 ppl worldwide that can't stand c//a)...

First of all I'd like to thank you for your sweet words! ❤ I welcome you dearly on this humble, little Blog of mine. I'm still relatively new to Tumblr, so far I only silently watched the Tags from the shadows, leaving a Like every once in awhile at most.

Actually I expected to be instantly attacked when yesterday on Adora's Birthday I just had enough. But so far I got positive recognition only, including yours and while that is probably bound to change at some point in the future it is the best start I could've wished for. It is more than motivating to keep this Blog going.

Many Antis used to like Catradora and/or Catra at one point and I gotta admit I'm no different from that. Seeing the amazing Fanarts on Instagram and the comparisons to shows I loved I got really absorbed like: "Finally some good f**king food! Go lesbians, go." Hell, I thought Catra in a suit was so hot it scares me now. Now all I see is the memory of my abusive ex boyfriend from a time I did not know I'm aro yet.

I was in for a bitter surprise when out of boredom I started watching the show with a friend of mine because I very quickly started to dislike Catra. While I did not immediately notice how horrible she treats Adora even then (shoving and tackling her, making fun of her in dangerous situations, pulling her hair, guilt tripping and insulting her etc.), I still found her annoying and the second she tasered Adora I backed away from that Ship. At least I was able to figure out that was unhealthy. For a while I still was okay with it because "Hey, it still is the first/second Season" and Catra could still have lots of potential for a satisfying redemption but with Season 3 I just had enough.

Just like you described/hinted at I questioned my sanity: What if I'm in the wrong? There must be something about the Ship that so many like it, right? Surely something must be wrong with me and my perception of Catradora and Catra overall. It was horrifying, I hated it. I felt hated and alone for a long time, maybe in the future I'll share a few horror stories I lived through regarding that because there sure were some. The treatment did not contribute to my mental health. Yeah, sometimes it felt like this was going to shatter me.

Discovering people that thought like me, finding out about Tumblr was like a lifeline. It helped. It gave me hope. And I wanna do my best that other people can experience that too because despite being a minority, despite being treated like we're the "rotten" side of the fandom we're valid. We are entitled to our opinions. Dare I even say we're the ones that are right for questioning things that most people, including Noelle gloss over so easily? Abuse is not a joke. Or toxic obsessions, ableism. Nothing you should ignore for the sake of lesbian representation. And it's not like they did not have any other possible choices. We already got Spinnetossa and Scorfuma. Glimmadora would've worked, Adora with almost any other female (Huntara f. ex. or Perfuma, Mermista etc.) would've worked if that would not have been enough.

This Blog is to raise awareness to a small degree. Most Catradora stans will not listen. They're too caught up in their ignorance, they're too deep into it to ever admit they are wrong which is why 99% of the arguments they make are "fake" arguments (attacks, insults) or just generally untrue or invalid for different reasons. The Blog is also to give comfort and hope to others, to reach out. To people that are like me. Who think there might be something wrong with them. Who feel lonely or need validation that their opinion is very much justisfied. And the Blog finally is for me to rant so I can preserve a part of my sanity. Sometimes when interacting with toxic stans I can feel some of it leaving my body.

So next to lots of posts about my issues with Catra(dora) and its stand, I will also try to sneak in posts about support to Non Shippers (like reasons why shipping other Ships is valid, general support because most of us don't hear a "You are loved and valued" often enough etc.). May this account live on for a long time, I can see the Anti Catra(dora) Community is slowly growing. It's still not big, bigger than other Anti Tags though. And it does become less rare to encounter Non Shippers even outside of the regular Tumblr Tags. We might never "win" this fight and become the majority but we can try to do our best as a group. Repeat after me:

We are valid!! Our opinions, feelings and experiences matter!!

So to you and any Anti Catra(dora) person reading this: You have my love. My support. And I'll do my best to deliver some quality content to all of you for a long time to come!

I feel like users on here from other fandoms who watch other shows are so snobby and mean to spn users 😔

i mean, there is a degree of that, for a bunch of factors - spn is not a quality show (yes, i've defended its folkloric gothic horror vibes and its Romantic heroes many times and would do it again, but we all know it's also not objectively "good." sometimes it's powerful and beautiful and affecting, it's subjectively great in moments, that's different. i say this with love and self-awareness, i've spent more time with it than anything, you know my feelings for dean, look at the sheer amount of pages and energy dedicated to it here. it's part of my heart! it's also a mess. it being riddled with holes and poor writing and inconsistent characterization is a significant part of its success, weirdly, because fandom takes advantage of having all those spaces and margins to interpret and fill. and i still watched it every week for fifteen years? idc, joke's on me), spn has a huge fandom, quite a lot of which is obnoxious and unkind, even though it also has many people who are intelligent and lovely, and it's ubiquitous on the internet to the point where, i'm sure, even if you don't outright "hate" it, you get sick of seeing it, like any popular thing. and then for some, pretentiousness plays a role if they think they're superior for hating it and only watching prestige tv or whatever. which can be debated all day, but genre tv and prestige tv both have their places and importance in the annals of fiction and shouldn't be compared anyway.

i personally love and cherish all my little goblin garbage shows. if someone is mean to you about liking a silly television show, that's a them problem far more than anything else. if they're making you feel shut out from participating or blogging about a different show...ignore them (i know that's hard in some situations) and enjoy what you enjoy and post whatever you want because how dare anyone try to take that from you?! my blog is just potpurri at this point. basically posting whatever i like while i throw around handfuls of glitter and petals. we can't let judgy people take our joy, there's not enough time on this earth, we're all dealing with some form of existential crises on a regular basis, i promise you that deriving pleasure from the stories in the moving picture box is supposed to be fun and is not a measure of your value. you're awesome, love what you love. (i just think you are what you love...)

Imagine an academic-rivals-to-lovers contemporary romance but the two characters are not even competing for first place. They're both at like 10th place and not even that into academics, just super competitive. Even the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place people aren't that competitive. And every year the class will watch all the drama that goes into the 10th place in academics. Honestly this could also work for a sports-rivals-to-lovers.

Imagine him standing on a beach and someone says something triggering to him.

The moment those words reach his ears everything inside him roars, yet his body stills so utterly, one would imagine him a statue. The tension sings along cliffs of his jaw and gathers in the cords of muscle in his neck. It races down the veins in his arms and pools in his clenched fists. His eyes darken, shadows obscuring the blue.

Yet despite all of that, the most terrifying part is that the ocean stops. The water freezes mid-wave. The sea gulls above hush as if aware of the tension below. Even the wind doesn't dare to blow. And standing beneath the shadow of the wave, is one man who has fought many a mighty foe, who has braved the pits of hell and who has dominion over the ocean. Who now looks as if he'd like to drown the world he once saved.

Suddenly there is a lady. Hair like spun gold and whose eyes hold a darkness similar to the man's. Her hand alights gently on his tense shoulder and she whispers, "Percy."

The wave that stopped finally washes over them gently, wetting neither of them. His fists unclench and the tension in his body uncoils. A small glow enters his eyes as he turns to see the only person who understands everything that he is and still loves him. She has a darkness similar to his, yet, somehow, impossibly, their darkness together brings light.

He gazes into her stormy grey eyes. Eyes that say, you are here, I am here and we will be okay. And it turns out to be the truth.

Hi! Could you please enlighten me on what's bad about puzzle pieces? I have an enamel pin which is in the shape of an awareness ribbon, with red yellow and blue puzzle pieces. I'm self-dx and can't get a professional opinion or tell my family yet so I got it as a subtle support!

Hey, no worries. And don’t feel bad. You’re trying to do something positive with the limited information you have!

Puzzle pieces in isolation aren’t bad, although there is a problematic connotation with them in the context of autism. The major issue, though, is the organisation now strongly associated with the puzzle piece - Autism Speaks. Sadly, this really isn’t spoken about offline or outside of autistic spaces. When the vast majority of the media we’re exposed to trumpets this symbolism, how do you know it’s a problem?

Autism Speaks is an organisation that claims to support autistics but in practice harms autistics, autistic children, autistic adults and any member of the autistic community that dares practice or demand self-advocacy. They don’t have autistic board members, they spend a lot of their income on searching for a cure or infinite awareness campaigns - neither of which help autistic people with support or accommodations we may need - and they’ve produced some incredibly hateful and hurtful media that focuses on the pain of the parents with autistic children, not the experiences of actually autistic people.

Caffeinated Autistic on WordPress has written this post and this master post on why Autism Speaks doesn’t and shouldn’t speak for autistics. I’m going to quote this paragraph from the master post with regards the puzzle piece:

Autism Speaks often refers to autism as a “puzzle”, making use of a human-shaped blue puzzle piece in their logo. The puzzle piece did not originate with Autism Speaks, but their continued use of it, in addition to phrases like “…will find the missing piece of the puzzle” as stated in their mission statement shows that they don’t really value autistic people as fully human people. We are puzzles and we are missing pieces of ourselves, and we must become neurotypical in order to be respected by this group.

Basically, by referring to us as a “missing piece”, we’re not seen as fully human as we are. Instead of trying to challenge the oppressive structures we face as disabled people - access to preferred communication, education that fits our learning styles, accommodation of our needs, even confronting allistic notions that a lack of eye contact signals dishonesty - AS are just trying to make the autism go away. A lot of autistic folk don’t want autism to go away. Why should it? It’s who we are, how we think, how we feel, how we know the world. Why can’t the world adapt to and accommodate us instead?

Amy Sequenzia also writes, beautifully, about AS as a hate group on AWN. (I’d recommend reading just about everything she’s ever written, honestly.) The puzzle piece has come to symbolise AS’s status as hate group and the harm they’ve done to us.

If you want to quietly display your support, connection, identity and pride, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t (you’re one of us), I’d go for the neurodiversity symbol. I did a quick search of neurodiversity on etsy, and there’s many, many awesome ND pride things. What about a necklace from Spacerobot Studio?

I’ll finish with two things: one, my position on this blog has always been that while it’s a good thing to boycott those companies - Spinmaster, Toys R Us, Scentsy - who support Autism Speaks, I am never going to judge or shame a stimmer who doesn’t. It’s easier to boycott in the US where there’s many other alternatives for stim toys; it’s harder for international stimmers, especially folk who cannot purchase online. As much as I want AS to suffer a wonderful lack of donations, I do not want stimmers to go without readily-accessible stim toys. Stim toys aren’t an optional extra. They’re a need. If this makes me a terrible autistic, so be it. I’ll present as much information as I can and leave these choices up to the individual, but there’ll be no judgement from me however one chooses.

Two, autism positive - organisations by autistics for autistics - groups include ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network) or AWN (Autism Women’s Network). Check these websites out, because they’re pretty awesome. I’m less familiar with ASAN, but I know AWN has resources that can help you in communicating your autism to family members, too, if that’s ever something you decide to do at any point.

I hope this helps. There’s lots of posts floating around #actuallyautistic Tumblr, too, and if my hands were less bad I’d search more of them up for you.

Why Can't Everyone Do the 'Asian Squat'?

Among the more practical advice that can be offered to international travelers is wisdom of the bathroom. So let me say, as someone who recently returned from China, that you should be prepared to one, carry your own toilet paper and two, practice your squat.

I do not mean those goofy chairless sits you see at the gym. No, toned glutes will not save you here. I mean the deep squat, where you plop your butt down as far as it can go while staying aloft and balanced on the heels. This position—in contrast to deep squatting on your toes as most Americans naturally attempt instead—is so stable that people in China can hold it for minutes and perhaps even hours ...

And, for our purposes, while using the bathroom. Toilets are common in Chinese households now, but public restrooms are still dominated by squat pans, which many Chinese find more hygienic due to the lack of thigh-and-toilet-seat contact. The flat-heeled squat position here is crucial, not only for stability on wet porcelain but also—without getting too anatomical—for proper angling and position. Especially for the ladies. Let’s just say if you stay on your toes, your shoes will get hosed.

(Pro tip: Wearing a slight heel helps.)

Of course, squat toilets are not unique to Asia, nor is the deep-squatting position. But so ubiquitous is the position in Asia and so invisible it is in the West, that it’s been dubbed the “Asian squat.” The internet is rife with suggestions that most Americans cannot squat properly, an idea with which I particularly enjoyed taunting my white American boyfriend.

But is this true? Were my taunts fact-based? How much is this nature or nurture? I figured I first had to understand the physiology of the deep squat.

Luckily, at least one other person on the internet is obsessed with squats as me, and he knows something about physiology. That would be Bryan Ausinheiler, a physical therapist in California who has penned a series of blog posts about the deep squat. “The squat is a great model for a multi-segmental movement pattern,” Ausinheiler rattled off at the beginning of our phone call. Uh, what does that mean? “The squat is a triple flexion movement. You’ve got bending at the hips, knees, and ankle, so you have to fold everything up underneath you.” There’s a lot going on.

But the key factor seems to be ankle flexibility. In the words of our editor Ross Andersen, “squatting makes me feel like I might rupture my Achilles.” A 2009 study in Japan found that men who found it impossible to deep squat had particularly inflexible ankles. This is also in part, Ausinheiler says, why kids have no problem squatting. “I measured my daughter’s ankle flexibility when she was one day old,” says Ausinheiler. “She has 70 degrees of ankle dorsiflexion! Normal in the West is like 30.” So humans are born squatters; some of us lose it when we stop trying.

In fact, not everyone who can deep squat is, as Ausinheiler puts it, squatting “well,” with feet close together and toes pointed forward. I grew up in the United States with few occasions to squat, and I fall into this category. (A fact I was painfully aware of in China because I had to place my feet wider than the grooved sides of the squat toilet that kept you from slipping on the wet floor.) The position, while doable, is not particularly comfortable for me either. When an editor dared me to write this entire article while squatting, I quickly realized I’d either end up with an extremely short article or a workplace injury.

Body shape also seems to play a role. Short limbs, big heads, and long torsos make it easier to balance. (Again why toddlers have it so easy.) “I have three brothers, so of course every year I test all their abilities to deep squat,” Ausinheiler told me. “What I found is of the four of us, my squat is the best, I gotta say, but I’m also most conscious of technique. I have another brother who has even shorter legs than me. His squat isn’t quite as good as mine but it is very easy for him. And then the brother with the longest legs as the worst squat. He kind of has a hard time with it.”

Believe it or not, no one appears to have actually studied innate ability in deep squatting across ethnic groups. “You would have to take kids from the time they’re born in China and never let them do any squats to be a control group, and it’ll never happen,” says Matt Hudson, a physiologist at the University of Delaware, who kindly humored my questions. And ultimately, it may not matter. Practice and training make the bigger difference. (I suggested to my boyfriend that he could improve his squats, but he refused for reasons I cannot fathom.)

And Ausinheiler says he has seen more people interested in doing a deep squat—thanks to Crossfit. Weightlifters squat in a deep position, pushing up through the heels. And weightlifting shoes, Hudson points out, usually have a slight heel to help. Crossfit has turned a lot of people into weightlifters—and in turn, made them conscious of their stiff ankles.

There is another group of pro-squatters, those who believe America’s bowel problems can be blamed on toilet seats (the argument has to do with the anorectal angle). Squatting is of course how our ancestors pooped for millennia. Yet this ability that comes so naturally to cavemen and to babies has been lost to many Western toilet sitters—and it’s not so easy to get it back.
