Day Eleven - Four Leaf Clover

Word Count: 604

Warnings: mention of gas station sushi, the therapist is STRESSED, Marcus Pike being a sweetheart

Notes: Marcus Pike and our female reader are back! They're joined by her therapist, not in a sandwich. 👀 These are not those prompts. Just some humor and looking at things from a different perspective.

Your therapist is pinching the bridge of their nose. Trying to find a constructive way to tell you you’re wrong. Well, not wrong, just…no they take that back you’re wrong. But professional. They have to be professional and therapeutic. They take a deep breath before speaking because the look on your face tells them you’re completely confused as to why they’re trying to reason with you.

“Let’s look at this a different way. You’re wary of accepting a date from the gentleman you told me you bonded with over your butterfly painting,” The therapist’s hands are waving above their notepad, “even though, you’ve been to lunch with him twice, spent last session speaking about it in a positive light and have coffee with him as well. And…” Glasses slid toward the bottom of their nose as a finger pointed in the air, “not once according to you has he been rude, unkind or creepy. Just…”

“But I should be careful right? My last boyfriend or date or whatever ate gas station sushi and was pretty pushy with…”

“As your therapist, I would strongly encourage you to compare the two and see who one you should give a shot to. Clearly anyone who eats gas station sushi has not made good choices in life. It sounded like the man you described to me knew about different restaurants, some of which I can't pronounce.” You nod, taking in what your therapist is saying.

“I think you’re right. I should just give it a shot. I gave the gas station sushi guy a chance just because of how lonely I was. Marcus is very sweet and I have thought about him quite a bit these last few weeks.”

Internally, your therapist is thankful. Whoever this man is, doesn’t deserve to be compared to the prick that was the gas station sushi man. “How did your painting go this week?” Your face lights up at the question and you reveal a smaller painting, maybe 4 inches by 6 inches? It’s various greens. Darker around the edges with the lighter greens making what look to be a clover shape in the middle with dashes of yellow on the leaves. It should be noted that there’s four of them. Aware that you’ve painted it for a reason, your therapist asks and you explain it’s how you feel right now. Your outlook has improved significantly over the last few months with renewed hope that taking it one step at a time is good and believing that what you’re doing in taking care of yourself matters. Also through sheer luck you might have found some love. Maybe.

After your session, Marcus picks you up and you go to lunch, it’s become an occurrence a few times a week now. It doesn’t take long for Marcus to inquire about your painting and you show him, giving him the same explanation as you did your therapist. You changed the love part to ‘someone to care for’ pretty much the same thing but not as strong you hoped. You don’t want to scare the man. Marcus Pike is not a man that’s easily intimidated and gives your forehead a small kiss asking if he can keep your painting like he did with your butterfly one. You agree and snap a picture with your phone before handing it over and continuing lunch. Might not be love, yet, but you do kiss his cheek when he drops you at home and you ask him about dinner later this week or the next. The bright smile he gives you makes you feel like the luckiest woman on earth.

Volume I

Q1. What was your favorite performance from the 2nd album and why?

🐶 : I liked the first week of "M Countdown" the most. Even though it was early in the morning, a lot of fans came and cheered for us, so we enjoyed the performance. And the set and outfit were so pretty that I liked it.

Q2. What was something that you tried so hard to get immersed in while preparing for your second album?

🐶 : Since the theme of the album is love, there were many situations where I had to work on songs imagining things that I had never experienced before. So when I write lyrics or melodies, I try to work with the heart of a teenager who had a painful love.

Q3. I'm also curious about the daily life of an individual who deviates from work. What do you usually do outside of practice time?

🐶 :I usually work out or work on songs outside of practice. These days, I watch a lot of foreign YouTube videos about sound making to take it a step further musically.

Q1. Do you have any new hobbies or interests these days?

🐶 : After the second album, I invested a lot in music equipment because I wanted to work with more professional equipment. So I think it's a new hobby to change the functions of the equipment one by one and make good sounds while experimenting.

🐶 : Our goal is to always present new things and lead the trend.

Q3. Say something to THX .

🐶 : I'm always thankful, but I'm so thankful that I can't express my gratitude. I'm more grateful than saying thank you.

Q1. It's already the first anniversary of your debut. How do you think early summer will be remembered?

🐶 : I think it will be remembered as the best season for TNX.

🐶 : TREE 🌳 : I think it's a tree because it's going to stretch out its branches firmly and firmly!

When I was younger my grandma found a 4-leaf clover, so she gave it to me. I put it in my fairytale book (the purple one with rapunzel on the cover, when I decided to change my hair colour into the golden one and it actually worked). I open my fairytale book one day only to find the clover turned into a 3-leaf clover, the regular kind. Someone seemed to have broken the clover...so I immediately went to my sister (because I didn't buy that it happened by itself). She kinda snickered once I asked her if she did that to my clover, the one grandma gave to me, and kinda admitted to having done the deed.

She won't let me have nice things.

And that's where Clover's name comes from.

Nela won't let me have nice things either (she stole my gold & diamond ring from my posessions again).

Imagine if I had all the wealth in the world: it'd be left with nothing because of the likes of them!

Nela also took my allowance because I treated some girls with ice cream and actually made the mistake of letting it slip and told her. She used that as an excuse to take it away from me.

I had nothing precious of my own growing up, that passes the £100 point because of the likes of them! And then I go back in time and ruin them. And give myself things NOW. I call this justice.

But true justice is taking EVERYTHING away from them, after I let them ruin their own bodies. And I've already received confirmation ahead of time that Andreea's gonna be dirt poor by the time I'm done.

It turns out I never actually shared my Kaitou Joker OC with you guys and that is a CRIME, so. Here he is two years late:

Ainsley "Ace" Clover

Age: 22

Thief name: Ace (He's not very good at coming up with names for himself, okay?)

Outfit: well-fitting, but not skin-tight, aerodynamic body suit (the neon green markings are heaviest around the shoulders and taper off as they reach his wrists and ankles), darker green sash around his waist, and a belt for extra gadgets.

Thief gear: invisibility feature in suit, retractable inline roller skates on his shoes. His weapon of choice is a pair of chains that go around his forearms and can be electrified by the push of a button (it's like a mix of wonder woman's golden lasso and Andromeda Shun's chains)

Sexuality: Gay

Crushing on: Phoenix

Fun facts: 1) While he doesn't NEED skates to go super fast, he prefers it since it makes him go extra fast.

2)His favorite way of losing cops/enemies is to get far enough ahead he can create leaf or dust tornadoes. Sometimes this backfires because something catches on his skates and he ends up looking like a newborn baby deer while he tries to get his feet back under him. Yes it does tend to look like something out of a cartoon. He has also run into a wall before, many times. But to be fair, at least one of them was Joker's fault.

3)Has a clover insignia embedded in his left eye that looks like this;

And as a better comparison to what I want it to look like, I give you this;

It's very hidden and really only ever shows up in certain lighting or when Ace's head is a mess, so to speak. The first time the others see it, Joker and Phoenix find it super cool while Hachi is freaking out. Like, full on, "WHAT??? HAPPENED TO HIS EYE JOKER-SAN WHAT DOES THIS MEAN DOES IT HURT CAN YOU SEE??? ACE-SAN HOW MANY FINGERS AM I HOLDING UP--"

4) In answer to Hachi's question: Whenever the clover gets more prominent it feels like there's a weird pressure over his eye that makes it hard to focus straight ahead, sort of like an itch you can't scratch, but he CAN still see out of it unless he's really not physically well-- in which case it might get a bit blurry. It doesn't hurt (again, unless he's already not physically well). The pressure isn't the source of the pain, btw; it's the same kind you might get in eye doctor tests where they do the tonometry test. It means absolutely nothing and yet everything at the same time.

Background:

Ainsley is a failed human experiment. He was part of a project to create human super soliders that could do just about anything. Create fire from their palms, shape shift, freeze time, etc. He was considered a "failed" experiment because he couldn't meet the speed requirements they'd set, even after the enhancements were made. He couldn't run fast enough to freeze time for even a second, and as such, he was marked a fail. They couldn't try again or replace the ability, however, because he reacted poorly to whatever they used to make most of the enhancements.

Professor Clover and Lady Doubt come across him when stealing a different time related relic. Professor Clover wasn't planning on stealing anything more than the relic, but as they passed through the area dedicated to human experimentation while fleeing, a flashing screen caught his eye.

A large flashing "FAILED" glitched in and out of existence on top of the rest of the information, and after a quick read, Clover decided he would also steal the small boy inside the glowing vat.

Ainsley then becomes his charge, masquerading in only the barest sense of the word as his dad.

Because he's capable of super speed, Clover wants to use him as the ultimate weapon to kill Silverheart-- except Ace doesn't want to do that at all. He doesn't remember much about his time in that facility, but he remembers enough to know a bad and dangerous situation when he sees one. He's not blind. He's also, sadly, still a little kid with no power to get out.

Ainsley gets put through a ton of harsh training for years and gets the scars on his cheek by disobeying Clover on one such session. He never fully listens to and obeys Clover, but after the scars were given, he became complacent enough Clover thought he was ready to kill Silverheart.

It fails, of course.

Ace gets sent again. And he fails again, every time. Silverheart was just so nice to him! And there were three kids he was taking care of, he couldn't just kill their caretaker!

He becomes a shaky friend to them, and a year or two later Clover decides to get another pawn he could use to attack Silverheart. Enter a young Cyan and his sister Rose. Ace, a few years older than them (I'm thinking he's 11 or 12 at the youngest) and entering his "rebelious" phase, knows he needs to protect Cyan from being corrupted by Clover to the best of his abilities. It's hard, and he doesn't have the power to stop Clover from manipulating Cyan into becoming Shadow Joker.

Ace does his best over the next decade or so to keep Cyan from going on his revenge kick, but when that fails, he instead decides it's time he put a stop to Clover's plans himself.

Enter Phantom Thief Ace. He steals whatever Professor Clover is after, and while he's only got a 70% success rate, he's doing a fair job of keeping Clover from reaching his ultimate goal so far.

What Ace does after Clover's fall:

Once Clover is defeated, with little sadness from Ace's end over the fact his "father" has died, Ace pretty much retired from stealing things. Instead, he becomes more like a treasure hunter-- only going after things hidden in long lost temples, ruins, caves, etc. He still leaves a calling card, and still goes after some of the things his friends are also after, but that's because he loves the thrill of the chase more than he wants the items themselves.

His spare time usually involves helping Shadow train, teasing Shadow or Joker over their crushes on each other, and occasionally going after the same treasure as his friends so they can hold a competition to see who reaches it first (Ace doesn't really use his speed during these to make sure it's fair)

Then one day, as he's waiting for an excavation team to leave a pharaoh's tomb, something bright and shining escapes from the pyramid, disappearing into the distance before Ace could even blink.

The next day he's after a certain crystal, and he comes across a rather interesting sight: A boy with hair the colors of fire, excitedly freaking out over Joker and Hachi's shark disguises and saying things like "I can't believe how much sharks have evolved in the 10,000 years I've been asleep!"

To say he's intrigued is an understatement, but to say the boy didn't make Ace's heart skip a beat for just a second would be an even bigger understatement. He wants to learn more about this supposed space alien, and after seeing him be engulfed in purple flames only to reappear flying with wings and claws for hands & feet, you bet he's determined to see as much of him as possible.

Because maybe Ace is a little lonely, and this alien named Phoenix is a lot lonely, and not being entirely human is a pretty good starting point to a friendship/relationship, don't you think?

Plus, helping him find his spaceship so he can finally go home sounds like a fun challenge.
