❝ — 👒 lady l: This is, by far, the biggest headcanon I've ever written and I confess that I'm very satisfied with the result! I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes!! ❤️
❝tw: possessive and obsessive behavior, overprotection, unhealthy platonic relationships, and implied murder.
❝👒pairing: platonic!yandere straw hat pirates x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Straw Hats are a really different crew of pirates than the rest. There is no direct hierarchy between them, they respect each other and have affection for each other. Although they obey their captain, there is no tyranny between them but genuine friendship and care.
You were a resident of a small and little-known island in the East Blue, it wasn't really important or rich, so pirate activity was very uncommon there and you were grateful for that. Having grown up and taught that pirates are bad and everyone is a murderer and thieve, you had no desire to meet one.
You were a very calm person and lived humbly and peacefully and liked the way your life was. Until the day pirates arrived on your island. You were immediately alarmed, as were the other residents by their arrival, except that they were not ordinary pirates but the Straw Hats and your life took an unexpected turn.
They arrived and, contrary to the stories your parents told you, they didn't seem threatening or murderous but rather good people. This caught your attention and you were kind to them and even offered them food. Little did you know, that was your biggest mistake.
Their captain, Monkey D. Luffy, found himself attracted to you and he knew he wanted you to join his crew. When you politely declined the offer, he was determined to convince you to accept. He met with the other members and they all agreed with him.
It wasn't easy to get you to accept becoming a pirate, considering you never liked them, but you found yourself attracted to the offer. The idea of being completely free and being able to see the world was what made you accept, albeit reluctantly, Luffy's offer. You have officially become a member of the Straw Hats.
Monkey D. Luffy is very charismatic and funny, kind and a great friend. You adored him and respected him as your captain. Luffy was so pleasant to be around that you never really observed him closely as his actions are quite selfish towards you.
He is selfless, but Luffy still has a selfish side and doesn't want to share his attention with anyone. He is not possessive, but controlling. Luffy wants to know everything about you, where you're going, who you're with and what you've done. He demands to know and will get angry if he doesn't know. Luffy watches over you a lot, not only as your captain, but as his friend. He just wants to make sure that you are happy and satisfied with your friends and, most importantly, with yourself.
Roronoa Zoro, although a little more distant, has a troubled affection for you. He's not close and has that air of arrogance around you, which made you think he doesn't like you. But the truth is that he doesn't know how to deal with you, with the feelings he has. So he thinks it's best to stay away, fearing for his own sanity.
But Zoro can't do it. He wants to be close to you and he will, his main reason is when he feels jealous of your closeness to the rest. He doesn't want to be left aside, so he decides to become close to you. Zoro is possessive and arrogant, he wants to be preferred and feels jealous when someone steals his attention. He's not very easy to deal with, but Zoro knows how to be nice when he wants to be. He is very overprotective and will fight anyone to protect you, including his own friends.
Nami is relaxed and fun, she likes to take you to have fun with her, usually to drink. She is very persuasive and manipulative, you can hardly say no to her. Nami is cunning and doesn't usually get into fights, preferring to let her friends get involved, but for you, she won't care and will get into fights to protect you.
She wants to be your favorite, your number one and the one you go to for comfort or guidance. Nami is very worried about you and cares a lot about your well-being, she gets easily upset when you are sad or angry, and will take satisfaction from anyone who hurt you. However, she will not recognize if she is the cause.
Usopp is very anxious and insecure, although he tries his best not to show it, there is no denying that he feels very bad about himself often and will count on you to pull himself together. He is very sentimental and is easily hurt and will be furious if it is you who hurt him, but will become unbearable if someone makes you sad.
He loses his cool very easily and cries so easily it's ridiculous and Usopp will always go to you for comfort. He values you so much and it will get to the point where he will pretend to be sad just to receive any form of affection from you, he lives for that. He has no qualms about lying to have you hug him or whisper words of comfort to him.
Sanji is calm and rational, always very polite and it is very rare to see him lose his calm. He is very careful around you and loves to load you up with food, cooking your favorites and prioritizing you at every meal. Sanji is very nice and always makes you laugh, loving to hear you laugh or smile. He makes you feel comfortable around him, with his unwavering politeness and calm.
He never acts without thinking and everything he does is carefully planned, especially when it's about you. Sanji is the one who takes care of you the most and is always checking up on you, whether it's listening to you talk or watching you, he never fails and is always calm and smiling. Although he is very kind, Sanji will have no problem having to deal with anyone who dares to harm or hurt you.
Tony Tony Chopper is very kind and attached to you, more than he is to Nami. He is very shy at first, preferring to hide and watch you from afar, fascinated by you but afraid to get closer. He loves to imitate you and takes care of you, especially when you are hurt and need medical attention, often freaking out before realizing he is a doctor.
He is a great friend, very fair and loyal, constantly following you and making sure you are well and comfortable. Although he doesn't feel as comfortable with humans, the affection and care he feels for you is undeniable. He smiles and dances happily when he is praised by you.
Franky loves to flirt with you and does it constantly, even if he is just joking. He loves showing off for you and does it very often, going shirtless around you and trying to get your attention. Franky is a spirit and loves breaking the rules and will try to convince you to break them with him, he is always encouraging you to do what you want without caring what you think.
Although he acts this way, Franky is very protective and kind towards you and knows when to act maturely around you and is always trying to make you smile because he loves your smile. He takes great care of you and is selfless to the extreme, always putting himself first when you are in danger. Franky wants you to be well and happy and he will go to extreme lengths to make sure you are safe and happy.
Brook is eccentric and a shameless pervert and he flirts and hits on you more than anyone and feels no shame or regret in doing so. However, he truly enjoys your company and is kind to you, always prioritizing your wants and needs above anyone else's. He despises meanness and will go against anyone who is mean or acts wrong towards you.
He is very fair and compassionate towards everyone, but when it comes to you, there is an obvious preference and care. Brook is very polite, but he has his limits and will become furious if something happens to you. He has his morals and is empathetic, but that quickly changes when you get involved.
Robin is the calmest of the crew, always calm and reserved, it's impossible to know what she's thinking and she's not as open or transparent as the others. She rarely shows her emotions and this reflects on the way she acts towards you. Robin is very calm in her obsession and no one will be able to notice what she feels for you, her feelings are very well disguised and controlled.
It's very rare to see her lose her cool or get angry and when that happens, everyone gets scared. Robin has become less calm after meeting you and she, although reserved about her feelings, will make a point of taking care of you and showing you all the care and affection she can offer you.
Jinbe is very proud to be a fishman and has great honor. He hates pirates, even though he is one. He has mixed feelings for you, he admires you but hates the fact that you're a pirate and doesn't usually spend so much time by your side, but he cares deeply for you in his own way.
He is not dangerous and will never hurt you or show any violence towards you, he wants to take care of you and will do so in any way he can. Jinbe is very kind and tries his best to make you happy.
The Straw Hats are very overprotective of you and everyone cares and cares in their own specific way, but what they all have in common is the care and affection they have for you. They will fight anyone who thinks of causing you any kind of harm. After all, you are a member of the crew and they will take great care of you.

Yandere One Piece - Irish/Nordic Fae Folk Myth X F!Reader - Prologue
It's a spooky season, and I have yet to see any Yandere One Piece reader fics based on Slavic myths and legends! Blame me for being too invested in Bramble: the Mountain King game.
---
Once, there was a childless couple who lived in a quaint village. Although the village is rich in tradition and harvest, it was also a fearsome place. Not far from them lies a great forest called the Grand Line, a home of every fae folks, each more astounding and nightmarish than man had ever known.
But that was where our story began.
One night, on a full moon during a winter’s eve, the couple is visited by a frail, old woman. They immediately brought her in, warmed her, and fed her. When all is done, she transforms into a beautiful fairy. A member of the fairy monarchy, Rogue.
To thank the couple, Rogue rewarded them with something they had yearned for years: a child. And so, on the first day of Spring, a healthy baby girl was born.
Alas, even the fairy world has it;s own rules, and the rule is crueler than the rules of mankind. A baby who is granted life by the fairy must be returned back by the ripe age of thirteen. Rogue did not want her work to go to waste, so she told the couple that they must move the child away from the village, never to enter any fairy rings at any cost, and give their child a pair of special earrings made of iron to protect them.
Thus, the family evaded the pursuit of the fae folks beyond the age of thirteen. In retaliation, the fae folks began to terrorize the villagers - they would not stop to torment them until the child was given to them. Furious at the fleeing family for putting them into this bedlam, the villagers set up a trap to return the child back to the Grand Line.
Eighteen years have passed, and the child grew up in the Kingdom of Goa. With each passing day, the blessings from Rogue had made the child cunning, wise, and attractive. The child was a curious oddity amongst her peers, but there was one person who despised her existence more so than the others.
Sarie is the daughter of a notorious monarchy in the Goa Kingdom. Although she has everything in the palm of her hand, she is wicked jealous of the child’s charm and beauty. Her opportunity stuck when a vengeful villager asked her to cooperate to rid of the child’s existence in the mortal world.
Soon after, Sarie begged her fiancee, Sterry, to arrange a special trip only for his classmates, the child included, straight to the child’s original village. Sterry and his cohorts lured the child to the edge of the forest, right before the entrance of Grand Line. Once there, Sarie threw her scarf into the middle of the fairy ring and asked the child to pick it up for her.
The child is confused. Why should she follow such a petty instruction? Also, the child pleaded that she was not supposed to enter the fairy ring at any cost. However, Sterry and their classmates loudly demanded her to do so.
When the child reluctantly tried to enter the fairy ring, Sterry once again ordered the child to take off the child’s iron earrings for Sarie. She tried to refuse but Sterry warned her that if she disobeyed, he would make sure that she became the enemy of Goa.
The child had always wanted to be accepted by Sterry and Sarie - she did not understand what she had done wrong to receive his ire. The child also knew that Sarie and Sterry’s family had more power than her family did. She hastily took off her earrings and gave them to Sarie. With a heavy heart, she entered the fairy ring.
Sterry and Sarie’s deception became light once she turned around inside the fairy ring, only to find herself alone in a strange forest. She ran back and forth, calling for her classmates.
None answered.
Alone, terrified, and confused, the child trekked into the woods of Grand Line on her own, in hoping to find her way home… not knowing that she had fulfilled her promise…
And break the village’s curse.
---
You are wandering around the fogged oath, unable to see what's beyond. Suddenly, you heard footsteps. Behind you, in front of you, everywhere! You barely have a moment's rest when a mischievous-looking human-like creature appears before your very eyes. Shrieking, you fall back behind, astounded by what you see.
"Shishishi! Did I scare you?" The creature grinned hugely, enhancing his unique shaggy features with a stitched scar underneath his left eye.
Monkey D. Luffy, the Pookah, has arrived. Next

So I was bored and started to think about which one of the Strawhats is more likely to have some Yandere tendencies and… Usopp. It has to be Usopp. I remembered what happened with the Going Merry. I rest my case.
Yeah, he's the type to be a yandere that's very effective at watching you from afar while not ever forcing himself on you. He's a manipulator and a silent protector, not a forceful Yan 🥺

Lucky Break Chapter 5
Yandere Straw Hats x Fem!Reader
4.6k words
Beginning / Previous / Next (to be written)
Tumblr media
A partial night of rest did little for you. Your head was still killing you, and the dreamless, fleeting sleep did nothing to aid in jogging your far away memories.
Nami was kind enough to let you stay in her boat for the rest of night, and you were still on it this morning. You didn't feel confident in your ability to cross boats again now that the wind had picked up and the waters were slightly rougher. The last thing you wanted was to fall into the ocean again right after getting a change of clothes.
You watched with mild amusement as Nami and Luffy bickered about the Grand Line. Well, Nami was bickering. Luffy was dismissing everything.
“How do you expect to so much as make it into the Grand Line as you are? You have no supplies, no ship, and only two people. You're even more insane than I thought you were if you think that's a good idea.” Nami returned her attention to the map in her hands, muttering under her breath about pirates being a nuisance.
Luffy shoved the rest of the apple he was eating into his mouth, core and all. Cyanide poisoning be damned. He did appear to at least be taking her words into consideration, which was an improvement. “Yeah, we're going to have to get some meat before we go.”
You snort at the exasperated look Nami shoots him. Of course that was what he was hung up on. Luffy cooked his head to the side, “And what do you mean I only have two people? There's four of us.”
“I am not a part of your crew, this is just a temporary alliance. I'm not about to sail into the Grand Line with anybody, much less someone as in over their head as you are.” Nami pointed at you, “And Lucky doesn't count. She doesn't even remember her name, what are you expecting her to do?”
“What's that got to do with anything? She doesn't need to remember her name to be my crewmate.”
“She's got a gaping head wound! She needs to see a doctor, not get dragged into the most dangerous place on the planet by a delusional captain!” Nami picked up and chucked an apple at his head. An extremely ineffective attack given that he just opened his mouth and ate it whole like some sort of snake-person.
“Maybe we'll find a doctor on the next island, and then she’ll be good to go.” Luffy perked up, “Are we getting close to one yet? I want to get some food.”
The navigator's eyes flitted back down to the map. She still looked annoyed but answered his question, “Yes, we should be at the Gecko Islands soon.”
Luffy cheered and whirled around on his perch to stare into the distance. You followed his gaze and saw a speck of an island in the distance. Being on solid ground again sounded lovely. The unsteadiness of being on a constantly rocking boat felt extremely unnatural to you. Based on that, you felt safe in assuming that you had never spent a prolonged period of time at sea before this.
And of course, you were looking forward to the possibility of seeing a doctor and having your injury inspected and cared for by a professional. Zoro definitely needed to see a doctor, too, what with his stab wound.
Though, as you glanced at him, he appeared to be entirely unbothered. The only thing that even hinted at what had happened was the hole and bloodstain in his shirt. Other than that, he seemed fine. Shit, maybe he can sleep off stab wounds. If only you could do the same for your injury.
Luffy kicked his legs in excitement as the island drew closer. “We can get supplies here, and maybe even a new ship! Oh! We might even get some new crewmates! We're going to need a cook before we get to the Grand Line. And a musician.”
Having a cook around made sense, though you were more than a little baffled at him prioritizing a musician over a doctor. Well, whatever. He’s the captain, not you. He can recruit whoever he wants, and you’re sure that he will. Especially considering how much he’s been brushing off Nami stating that she isn’t a part of the crew.
The two boats hit sand as you finally make it to the island. You’re at some empty beach far away from the docks. Nami insisted that this would be for the best considering that her ship has Buggy’s jolly roger plastered over the sail. You jump off the ship and help pull them further onto the beach to prevent them from drifting away.
Being on solid land feels just as good as you had expected. The sand has a give to it, of course, but it isn’t constantly rocking back and forth. You stretch as you scan your surroundings. The beach is boxed in by cliffs, with a manmade walkway leading into a lightly packed forest that helps to hide your ships further. Someone would have to go out of their way to find you guys here.
“The village isn’t far from here, right?” Luffy was looking around excitedly, no doubt eager for a chance to stretch his legs. You were, too. The island appears to be normal and peaceful. It’ll be nice to explore a town without a bunch of pirates in it… you guys notwithstanding, of course.
“Yes, it shouldn’t take long to get there,” Nami answered passively while scrutinizing the map in her hands. “I wonder where we could find a ship.”
“We’ll worry about that later. Let’s find a place to eat first!” Luffy was actively drooling as he spoke. You’re not sure how anyone can be so hungry after eating what you’re pretty sure was in the ballpark of twenty apples, but you aren’t about to try and get between him and food.
Nami pushed him out of her face harshly, “Would you stop talking about food for five seconds?!”
Your attention was drawn away from them as you saw movement up on the cliffs. You squint and see several bushes rustling from what you’re assuming is some local wildlife. Zoro unsheaths a sword behind you and steps forward.
“Careful… I think we have company.”
That catches everyone’s attention. Nami tenses and steps back while scanning the forest herself, while Luffy is visibly excited about whoever could possibly be here. To you, Zoro seems to be over reacting. It’s more than likely just some animals running around, you’re not sure why he’s instantly jumping to this being an ambush or something.
Then someone starts shooting at Luffy’s feet. Perhaps Zoro was onto something. He scrambles to get out of the way while Zoro rushes forward to help. Before you even have a chance to react, Nami grabs you by the collar of your shirt and drags you back to the boat before shoving you into it and climbing in beside you to take cover. You cough and gasp as she releases your shirt.
The attack stops, so you and Nami peer over the side of the ship to see what’s going on. Luffy and Zoro appear to be fine, thankfully, but now a bunch of flags are popping out of the bushes. All of them have the same jolly roger on them. Ah. So much for you thinking that this island was pirate-free. You just hope none of them have any weird-ass super powers to contend with.
This display does nothing to intimidate Luffy, who by all accounts seems to be having a grand time watching this. A boy suddenly emerges from behind a tree, looking extremely pleased with himself. Some of the tension leaves your body as you are distracted by the fact that this kid has the longest damn nose you’ve ever seen. You didn’t think that was physically possible. You shake your head, reminding yourself that now is not the time to be getting distracted by appearances.
Long-nose crosses his arms and puffs out his chest proudly. “I am Captain Usopp! Leader of the pirates who reign over this village! I’ll have you know that everyone here fears me as much as they sing my praise! Which is a lot!” He gestures behind himself with a dramatic flare, “Go ahead and forget about attacking this village, it’s under my control! Me and my eighty million subordinates won’t let you get far!”
Eighty… Eighty million? You and Nami share a sideways glance at each other. That seems… a touch far fetched. The island doesn’t appear big enough to hold even one million people, much less eighty million plus the villagers. Now that you think about it, It’s odd that he didn’t name drop his crew. He just called them “the pirates”. You let out a sigh and slump against the boat, relieved that this appears to just be some display rather than a real threat. Nami pinches the bridge of her nose, looking annoyed more than anything, and Zoro puts his sword away with a huff.
Luffy, meanwhile, is star-struck.
“If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable!” Nami calls out to him.
Usopp gasps, stumbling back in shock, “How did you know?!”
Nami rolls her eyes, “And now you’re admitting to it this easily? You’re terrible at this.” She climbs back out of the boat, and you’re quick to follow suit. You glance up the cliff to see Usopp beating himself up for failing miserably at his intimidation attempt.
He whips back around to face all of you again, trying desperately to save face. “Well, maybe I was exaggerating a little bit, but I can assure you that I do have some very powerful men at my disposal!” He points at a cluster of bushes not far from him. Unlike the rest of the flags, the ones coming out of the bushes were moving, implying the presence of at least a few people.
Still, those bushes weren’t particularly huge. You can’t imagine that there were that many people hiding in them. You squint, “What? Like three people?”
The literal second you say this, precisely three people spring out of the bushes looking aghast at your accurate prediction. These “powerful men” looked to be a bunch of kindergarteners, who screamed in terror and ran away immediately while Usopp yelled after them not to leave him here alone. Another impressive victory under your sword-belt, you suppose.
Luffy looks at you in awe, “How did you know?”
All you offer him is a simple shrug and say, “Lucky guess?”
Nami sifts through the sand and pulls out some tiny pellets. She examines them with absolutely no sense of urgency. “Huh. I’ve never seen a pirate captain use a slingshot before.”
Usopp gasps and clutches his chest in offense, “What’s that supposed to mean? Don’t insult me!” He pulls a slingshot from his bag and takes aim at her. Nami stares at him blankly. “I have a lot of pride in my weapon! So much so that people call me ‘Proud Usopp’!”
You’ll give him this much: he doesn’t abandon the bit easily. You call out to him, “By people, do you mean yourself?”
Now Nami’s comment didn’t seem all that bad to him. Usopp changed positions to aim at you instead, “Many people call me that! In fact, they call me ‘Proud Usopp’ more than ‘Captain Usopp’ because they’re that impressed by my pride!” He pulls the leather pad holding another pellet back further. “Behold! You’re about to see that my slingshot skills can put a pistol to shame!”
Given how many other things he’s lied about or exaggerated greatly, you aren’t scared. The pellets that he shot at Luffy had some oomph to them, sure, but comparing them to bullets fired from a gun seems excessive. Getting pelted by some pellets is hardly going to be the worst injury you’ve endured.
Before Usopp can decide if he really wants to fire at you or not, Luffy steps in front of you with the brim of his hat pulled down over his eyes. His voice drops to a surprisingly low tone as he addresses Usopp seriously for the first time, “Now that you’ve drawn your “pistol”, you’ve put your life on the line.”
Both you and Usopp gawk at Luffy. Usopp was clearly scared by the sudden mood shift, and even you felt a chill run down your spine. You’re so used to seeing Luffy be carefree and goofy that hearing him openly threaten someone in a genuinely intimidating fashion has completely thrown you for a loop. On top of that, you feel confused. Nothing about this scenario feels heavy enough to warrant this kind of a response.
“You don’t use those to threaten people.” Luffy makes a show of loudly cracking his knuckles while maintaining intense eye contact with Usopp, who is now looking like he’s really regretting his previous actions.
Zoro grinned and stepped forward, just barely unsheathing a sword, “You’re dealing with real pirates now… Are you prepared for that?”
This is escalating quickly. You lean over to Nami and whisper, “Should we stop them?”
Nami did not share your concern. She examined her nails, barely even sparing you a glance, “No. He’ll lose his nerve before it gets to that.”
For a long, tense moment, there is silence as Usopp is stared down by Luffy and Zoro. Then, just as Nami predicted, he caved. The pellet slipped out of the slingshot and onto the ground. Usopp fell to his knees immediately after, looking thoroughly shaken up from the exchange. His hand clutched his chest as he muttered about how much scarier the words of real pirates are.
Mercifully, the tension dissipated instantly. Luffy dropped the disconcertingly serious look from his face and laughed loudly. “I stole that from Shanks! Your dad is Yassop, right?”
Usopp reels back at that question. “You know Shanks?! Wait- You know my dad?!” He clambers forward, but he isn’t paying attention and tumbles right over the side of the cliff. He rolls the whole way down, landing ass-first at the bottom. You wince, swearing that you felt some of that. The fall does little to deter Usopp, who quickly gets to his feet and stumbles closer to Luffy. “Yassop is my dad, but how did you know that?”
Luffy opens his mouth to answer, then stops abruptly. “I’ll tell you, but you have to take us to the nearest place to get food first.”
The deal was immediately accepted by Usopp, who nodded eagerly, “There’s a tavern not far from here, I’ll show you the way!”
Luffy followed close behind, cheering at the promise of food. How he intended to pay for it, you weren’t entirely sure, but who were you to ruin his excitement? No one else seemed concerned about the financials of this meal, so you suppose you shouldn’t be either.
Zoro casually trails behind Usopp and Luffy, while you and Nami were at the back. You two walked in silence while you mulled over something. This wasn’t the first time you’d heard the name Shanks. You can recall hearing the name thrown around while Luffy was duking it out with the clown-guy… Bucky? Boogie? You shake your head. That doesn’t matter.
Was Shanks someone important? Or was he coming up a lot purely through a series of coincidences? The name wasn’t ringing any bells for you, but given that you couldn’t remember your own name, that really wasn’t saying much. There’s only one way to find out the truth about him.
“Hey, Nami?” You wait for her to glance your way, acknowledging your inquiring tone. “Who’s Shanks?”
Her eyes widened, “You don’t know who Shanks is?”
You raise a hand and tap near your head wound, only to flinch at the pang of pain that shot through your head from that action. Oh, that was stupid.
Nami sighs, “You really don’t remember anything if you don’t even recognize his name.” Her face turns to a sneer, “He’s some bigshot pirate that’s worked his way up to being an emperor.”
The answer only served to confuse you more. “Emperor? What does piracy have to do with being one of those?”
“It’s just a title, he isn’t a literal emperor.” She waves her hand dismissively, “Don’t think about it too much. The less you know about pirates, the better.”
Aren’t you kind of a pirate now? At least by association. Not to mention that you’re traveling with two of them. Something tells you that Nami wouldn’t care for you pointing that out, so you continue to walk beside her in silence.
A large wooden sign with the words “Syrup Village” is sticking out of the ground once you’ve walked through the small forest. The village itself was small and quaint, possessing a sort of rustic charm that made it feel homey even if you've never been here before. Unlike Orange Town, this place was clearly populated. The local villagers milled about, going about their daily routines. It was a pleasant change of pace.
Usopp beckoned all of you into a small tavern. There weren't any customers inside, just an elderly man sitting behind a counter, and what sounds like a small staff in the kitchen.
“I have a lot of influence here. Go on and take a seat, I can handle the rest.” Usopp hurried over to the old man and started giving him some spiel about how you guys were a part of his crew, and thus, deserved only the best. The old man didn't even look up from his newspaper, but was nodding along anyway.
Nami picked out a booth for you all to sit at. Zoro slid in next to her, while you sat at the bench across from them. You glanced over to see Luffy sticking his head into the kitchen, apparently having not listened when Usopp insisted on handling everything. He was demanding an obscene amount of food, more than you thought all of you could reasonably eat in a week, much less one sitting.
As soon as he was done ordering enough food to make it feel like its own lunch rush, he bounded over to your booth and plopped onto the bench next to you, visibly elated. Usopp joined a moment later, dragging over a chair so he could sit at the head of the table.
“So, how do you know my dad?” Usopp was staring at Luffy expectantly.
Luffy perked up, “Oh, right. He was a part of Shanks’ crew, I saw him a lot growing up.”
Usopp's jaw dropped. “He's a part of Shanks’ crew?!” He kicked his legs under the table, a dreamy look on his face, “So that's where he's been.”
You quirked a brow at that statement. He didn't know where his own dad was? Did they never see each other? Or at least talk once in a while? You're surprised he doesn't look more bitter about it. You think that you would be if you were him.
There's a pang in your head, and your eyes go fuzzy for a moment. It's a sharp pain right behind your eyes. You put your face in your hands and massage your temples, trying to will away the pain and cloudy vision.
You're startled slightly when you feel someone lightly kick you under the table. You pull your face from your hands only to find Zoro staring at you questioningly from across the table.
“Everything alright?” His face was casual, so much so that it could be mistaken for disinterested, but it felt like his eyes were staring into you.
“I'm fine, I'm just… hungry.” Complaining about a headache felt childish, so you kept it to yourself. These people are being needlessly kind to you, you don't want to start annoying them and risk making them change their mind.
Zoro stares at you hard, and you get the impression that he doesn't believe you. He sighs and brings a pint of beer up to his mouth, “Well you better eat something quickly before Luffy gets it all.”
Hang on. You look at the table and finally take notice of the drinks and plates of food on it. When did these get here? You thought you only had your head in your hands for a few seconds… how did you not even hear the dishes being set down?
You really need to see a doctor.
A plate of food and some water are slid to you by Zoro, who apparently thought you were taking too long to make a move. You mutter a quiet thanks and gulp down some water before digging into the food. Hopefully having something of substance in your stomach would make you feel better.
Something was tickling at the back of your mind, but not clearly enough for you to make anything of it. The faintest whisper of a voice and a bizarre feeling of empty loneliness hung over you despite being surrounded by people. The responsible thing to do would be to focus on the essence of a memory that was trapped beneath the surface of your mind, begging to come forth. You should be trying to bring it to the front and realize it for what it was. But… apparently the person you're supposed to be isn't one for responsibility. You shove more food into your mouth and push the thought down. That memory didn't feel very pleasant. You try to focus on what’s going on around you instead of that.
The table is lively, unlike your foggy mind. Luffy is happily recounting childhood memories of Yassop while Usopp hangs onto every word of it, completely rapt in the stories. Luffy is also choking down an obscene amount of food at a cornering rate. You're not sure he's even chewing any of it given how fast he keeps going back for more. No wonder Zoro was insistent on you eating sooner rather than later. Another minute of hesitation and you would have been shit out of luck.
Nami finishes the rest of her drink and levels Usopp with a stare, “Say, you wouldn't happen to know where we could get a ship around these parts, would you?”
“A ship?” Usopp hums in thought for a moment, then stiffens up. “I wouldn't know anything about where to get one of those. This is a small village. We don't even have many ships passing through, much less up for grabs.”
“What about the people living in that mansion up on the hill?” Zoro nodded his head in the direction of it. The large home was in clear view from where all of you were seated. “Surely someone in a house like that has at least a few caravels at their disposal. Maybe more.”
Dishes clatter on the table as Usopp abruptly stands up and slams his hands down. “You can't go there!” His shout and sudden mood change startles everyone. Just as quickly as he became upset, his face dropped into a more bashful look. “Oh, would you look at the time! I have very important business to tend to, bye!” And with that, he sprinted out of the building, only reappearing briefly as he sped past the window.
What was that all about?
Nami sighed sharply. “What's got him so worked up? He ran out of here so fast that I just barely managed to grab this,” she held up a small, leather wallet.
“Nami!” You attempted to scold her, but the smug look on her face told you that your words meant nothing.
“What? He said he'd take care of everything, and that includes paying the bill. I'm just ensuring that he keeps his word, that's all.” Nami barely even glances at you before opening it up and counting the money. Based on the way her face contorts, you're guessing that it isn't as much as she was hoping for.
Luffy didn't appear to be even slightly concerned about that. He was happily licking the plates clean. Including yours, which was a little weird, but whatever. Not gonna ruin your day.
When you hear the door to the tavern open again, you don't think much of it. It's not until some little kids storm up to your table wielding wooden toy swords that you decide to pay attention. It dawns on you that these are the same kids you scared away earlier at the beach.
“W-What did you do with our captain?!” The boy with green hair asks the question as if he is already assuming the worst. All of the kids are shaking like chihuahuas while trying to act tough.
“Man, I'm full! That was some really good meat!” Luffy flopped against your shoulder heavily, having apparently finally satiated his massive appetite. The boys stared at him in abject horror.
“Your captain?” Zoro's once neutral face curled up into a surprisingly sinister grin. He leaned forward, making the children almost trip over each other to back away. “We ate him.”
The children grew deathly pale, screamed, then promptly fainted into a heap on the floor.
“Zoro!” You kept switching between looking at the incapacitated children and the swordsman. “Why would you say that?!”
All that he does is chuckle, looking awfully proud of himself for terrorizing some little kids. Luffy is laughing loudly at the whole spectacle, and Nami is staring at both of them incredulously but also not doing anything about it. You huff and climb over Luffy to check on the boys. While they do look horrified, even in their unconscious state, they appear to be fine physically speaking. You glare at Zoro, “That was mean.”
Your attempt at scolding is once again entirely ineffective. He waves his hand dismissively and downs the rest of his pint, “It was just a joke. If they want to be pirates then they should be able to handle it.”
“They’re little kids. They probably want to be something different every week.” There will definitely be a change next week after having a run in with what they believe to be cannibalistic pirates. You crouch down beside them, shaking one of them gently in hopes of waking him up. He starts to stir and cracks open his eyes behind his glasses. He blinks a couple of times, then focuses on you. For a moment, he stares at you dully. Then his eyes snap open wide and he yelps as he scrambles backwards.
“Calm down! I’m not going to hurt you,” you hold up your hands like you’re dealing with a scared animal.
This does nothing to quell his fears. He tries to get to his feet quickly, and you don’t have a chance to warn him before he cracks his head on the table he clearly didn’t realize he was under. Once again, he falls to the floor unconscious.
“Oh, shit!” You curse and scramble over to him, wanting to check and make sure he isn’t now suffering the same kind of brain damage you’ve got. You lift him up to get a better look at his head, when you hear dramatic gasps.
“She’s got Tamanegi! They’re going to eat him next!” The other boys have woken up and are back to hysterics.
“NO! No one is getting eaten!” You glare at your crew that is doing nothing to help and is instead laughing at the absurdity of the situation. “Would one of you help me here?!”
Zoro laughs loudly at your demand, “No, it looks like you’ve got it covered.”
You can’t believe these are the people you’re stuck with.

How you met the Yandere Strawhats.
Tumblr media
A/N: Like my other yandere strawhats posts, you can decide if the relationship is platonic or romantic. (Also, still only on episode 155 so take that as you will)
When you think of yourself, you do not think you are Strawhat material.
Even at your tiny island, the Strawhat's were well known, there escapades in Alabasta being well known, and you were constantly reminded of them through their wanted posters.
You didn't really have an opinion on them, or any pirates in general. The others on the island, however, were very afraid of them, especially their Captain, Mokey D. Luffy. To you though, he looked like a dork.
When they showed up at your island, parading around like they owned the place, you couldn't care less, and you went about you day as if it was normal.
The other villagers were afraid to acknowledge them, treating them like a bad though, if they ignored them, they would go away. But the Strawhats wouldn't, of course, when they were stubborn.
You first met the Strawhats when you had to serve them at the restaurant you worked at. They were loud, two of them, who you recognized as Vinsmoke Sanji and Roronoa Zoro, arguing. The captain and two others, including a literal deer, were begging for food the moment you stopped at their table. It was overwhelming. and for a second, you understood why so many of your neighbors didn't like them.
After that, you saw them around frequently. The ginger, who you found out was Nami, the first one you actually met, asked you a show her round the island one day when she saw you on the street. It was more so of a soft demand, but you did so anyway. It was fun, you two shopping for new clothes together.
The next Strawhats you met was Zoro, who got lost one day when he was training in the woods. You were surprised that a grown man wasn't able to find himself around a small island, but you helped him either way. It took you a while to find the port, since Zoro kept insisting that he knew the way, getting you even more lost. During this, you had a nice conversation with him, asking him questions about his captain and why he joined the pirate group. He was pretty nice, and invited you to eat dinner with his crewmates, but you refused, saying you had dinner prepared at home. I was strange, he seemed almost sad to see you go.
Usopp and Chopper you met together when you were walking near the harbor. They seemed to be repairing parts of the ship, which did look like it was falling apart. They looked to be struggling, and you didn't have anything to do for that day, so you offered to help, which they appreciated. The whole time they tried to goof off with you, encouraging you to take a break once most of the ship was repaired. As much as you didn't want to, you had fun hanging out with them. They tried to prevent you from leaving, claiming there was more to repair, which you easily able to figure out was a lie.
Robin was a strange one. Before you met her, you barely saw he on the island, even when they first arrived. She showed up at you work and asked if you would like to have lunch with her. When she confirmed she would be paying, you hurriedly accepted. During the lunch, she revealed that a lot of her crewmates were interested in you, including her. She wouldn't give you a reason why, simply saying that her captain was going to convince you to join their crew. You gawked at her, and she changed the subject, the rest of the dinner going somewhat smoothly.
The next day, you did meet the infamous Monkey D. Luffy, standing outside your house door, waiting for you. When he saw you, he got super excited, and invited you to a diner at their ship, the Going Merry. When you opened your mouth to refuse, he agreed for you, and rushed back to, you assumed, the ship. You signed.
That afternoon, you met Sanji, their cook, at you job. At this point, you did not want to see anymore Strawhats, wanting to send him out of the restaurant, but you held your tongue. Sanji was very charming, asking you if you would like to eat with him, you saying you can't eat while you're working. He smiled, and reminded you of your dinner that night, complementing the food.
The dinner that night was more of a feast. You tried not to show up, but Luffy was at your door, ready to lead you to the ship. As the night went on, your anger washed away, and you forgot about what Robin told you. That was until Luffy, who was sitting at the head of the table, mentioned you joining. You didn't know what to say, afraid of answering, before Nami answered for you, saying you would be glad to join, wouldn't you?
You couldn't answer, looking around confused. You didn't know if it was the drink Sanji handed you randomly during the night, or if it was your own anxiety. You felt sick, and your vision became blurry. You heard someone say something, nodding your head along and who you assumed was Robin guide you towards another room on the ship. She laied you down on a hammock, smiling down at you as you tried to focus your vision in the dark room. She leaned in close to your ear, so close you could feel her breath on you.
"I told you so." You heard her say before falling asleep.

Enchanted~..
Chapter 2
Yandere!Strawhats x witch! Fem reader ❤️
__________________________________________
The man slowly smirked, putting his face in one hand as he lazily raised an eyebrow.
“Tell me, are you a nymph?..” he asked, his voice dripping with utter amusement.
Blinking and slowly turning to him, you smiled and chuckled softly to yourself, growing flowers to sprout all around you as you picked one up gracefully.
“A nymph?..you mean those almost powerless women who are labeled after different parts of the world and are only remotely useful to the gods if they’re beautiful?”
Twirling the flower between your fingers, the man watched with his interest piqued. His smirk slowly growing as he slightly leaned closer, his eyes following your every move.
The dripping of water was heard as you moved your body towards him. carefully, you leaned closer to him, staring into his eyes with a devil like grin you never knew you could pull off.
Drip
Drip
Drip
It felt like your eyes were..connecting to him somehow..like they were glowing together..with understanding of the powers you both had.
“I’m a witch.”
__________________________________________
You were shocked.
Stunned even..they wanted..you to join their pirate crew..? A life full of adventure and passion.. just what could possibly wrong..?
Staring at Luffy’s big doe eyes you clenched the flowers you were hiding to make Choppers flower crown. Thoughts were swirling around in my head like a dog chasing its tail.
Ever since you were young, stuck in this island still, you always dreamed of adventure..was this your chance to take it..? The pictures of pirates..the gold..the danger.. this all seemed like a dream..you could explore new places with these people who seemed very nice..a little too nice though..
That wouldn’t be a problem right?..you were probably just thinking that because they were from somewhere different and-
“Y/N..?”
You snapped back into reality to see the crew you met not only a few hours ago, staring at you with concerned and a bit of confused expressions on their face. Blinking and fixing your posture, you tried to look a bit confident and not like butterflies were fluttering all through your stomach like you turned yourself into a frog that ate them.
“Well..what would I even be if I were in your crew..? What role would I play?”
You asked, leaning a bit closer with the tilt of your head. Did pirate crews even gave witches?..were you even cut out to be a pirate?..what in gods green earth would Mother Eve say about all of this?!
Luffy grinned, his usual cheery attitude shining so bright you almost thought you needed to summon a few vines you cover your eyes.
They just absolutely loved you.
Couldn’t really get enough and they all could agree on that. You were kind, smart and hilarious..there was something so so alluring about you they couldn’t pin point! They didn’t care what this old lady ‘Mother Eve’ said! You just had to join! No matter what job you did, you were joining and there was no doubt about it.
You were so bewitching and they found it absolutely…
Beautiful.
“It doesn’t matter! We’ll come up with somethin’!”
Luffy Said, swinging an arm around your waist with his signature grin showing.
“Yeah! Don’t sweat it! You’ll be our…uh..witch! Every pirate crew needs a witch!”
You raised an eyebrow then laughed softly, were these even pirates? They were way too nice. Looking at the long nose male, you admired his curly hair and milk chocolate skin. You had a good feeling about them..
A thought then suddenly crossed your mind. Why didn’t you think of this before?!..Mother Eve would absolutely never allow this! Dread washed over you as you just thought about the beating you would get with that stupid stick of hers..
This caused you to unconsciously sigh, a frown making its way to your lips.
This unexpectedly, got the swordsman’s attention.
He turned his head towards you and then out his hand on your shoulder. His hand was rough, and big. His tan skin and storm grey eyes almost made your heart sing. His touch was protective and you could tell he wasn’t use to being gentle..he could try though..
Were you using a spell to read deep into his emotions? Maybe..but that’s not important!
“What’s up now?..if you’re worried about joining..luffy’s an idiot, but we manage.” He said, his voice deep but also some calm. You looked up at him and into his eyes, how could they want you to join after only a day..?
It made no sense! Yes you made them laugh, showed them your tricks and spells. You had something in common with each and every one of them, something you liked to do which you both prided yourselves in but that doesn’t really mean they should trust you so soon…
Even the one you know as ‘Zoro’ seemed very..infatuated with you already!
Taking a deep breath, you looked over to the pirates you’d met not long ago. Specifically looking at luffy and clutching his straw hat in your hand, cheeks flushing at the more of him putting his hat on your head.
“I..I need to speak to Mother Eve about this..”
.
.
.
.
.
As all eight of you were on your way, you had to go into the deep forest filled with dangerous creatures and such. So you decided to be a good host and utter the words of your best spell and there, a giant floating flower appeared.
“Here, those forest are deep and very dangerous, it’ll be a hassle just getting through!” You said with a soft smile. Getting on the flower, it bounced a bit but as you thought, it was soft and light. Just as you thought.
Luffy, Usopp and Chopper seemed to be seeing stars as they jumped on immediately and seized you with questions instantly. This made you smile widely as never before did you have anyone to share your spells with..your thoughts, your ways..
It was nice..
Actually having some adventure and people to adventure with.
If Mother Eve does get convinced..you’ll have the best time ever..
Right..?
As you kept getting closer and closer, your heart beat was growing faster and faster, like a drum beating a rhythm so loud it could be heard miles away.
“So Y/N…what’s this..Mother Eve like exactly..?”
Robin asked, her voice smooth as it could be. Her blue eyes stared into you, examined you, almost making you blush and squirm. She was pretty like the wind blowing on a fresh summers day, her black hair moving with every tilt and turn of her head.
“Well…i guess you say I see her as a mother figure heh…she can be a bit mean sometimes but she definitely cares..she just wants to keep me safe!”
“Yeah, but that’s what we’ll do when your with us! You’ll be safe no matter what..”
Nami’s deep brown eyes got in as she rested her hand on your hip in a friendly manner. You both then locked your sights on Luffy, Sanji and Zoro.
Zoro was bickering with Sanji and Sanji was most definitely bickering back. All the while Luffy was laughing at them like it was the funniest thing ever. A smile made its way towards your lips.
“You see those idiots over there?..” she said, you didn’t even have to look at her to tell she was smiling as well.
It seemed like this boy Luffy..he was sunshine and light himself..
“They’re stupid but strong..they all look out for us.”
She then looked at you her voice growing as soft as a feather.
“We both know you can fight but..depend on us. We’ll stick through.” She said, this made your heart absolutely warm. Though, it was strange how her grip seemed to slightly tighten in a protective manner. You thought nothing of it..these were genuinely good people! You could trust them..
Now arriving at the house you andMother Eve shared, you took a deep breath.
“Now..before we go in..please be careful about you say..she is very..sensitive to vulgar language..” you said with a sweat drop, looking to the side.
“Yeah alright! You guys got any food in there?! I’m starving!”
“Idiot! We just ate like thirty minutes ago!!”
You raised an eyebrow but slowly turned the door knob and..
WHACK!!
“Child!! Where in witches magic have you been!!?”
she said. Her dark green eyes examining you from head to toe like they always did. That stick was becoming your mortal enemy! Ever since you were young it was at least.
“Ow!!”
You groaned from the hit, rubbing your head and glaring at the wretched stick her hand.
She eyed you again, something that thought was scarier than summoning ten bears all at once! Now looking back her eyes widened, with the quick snap of her fingers she had rope wrapped around all of your new friends! Her jewelry made clinging sound every time she moved, that sound you knew since you were young..
“And who in gods name are these people?! They’re not pirates are they?” She Saïd giving them a nasty glare, one that made you bite your lip nervously.
“Well uh..you see the thing is..-”
“Yeah we’re pirates old lady!! And we wanna take Y/N to join our crew! So let us go so we can talk!!”
Luffy why?!
Everyone but him of course gasped, shushing hun and whispering ‘you idiot!’ ‘Hush!’
WHACK!!
“Never speak unless spoken to boy!!”
You groaned softly, looking down. Were you ever going to convince her?..
For the rest of the night almost every single one of the crew members got hit once.
Sanji of course was being his usual..friendly self to Robin,Nami and especially you! Sometimes looking places where he wasn’t supposed to and-
WHACK!!
Luffy kept trying to recruit you and just wouldn’t shut up about you becoming a pirate and ‘sailing the seas and going on adventure with them’ even stretching his arms around you in a very tight hug and-
WHACK!!
Oh and zoro with his rude comments..should I even go on..?
DOUBLE WHACK!!
Luckily Robin, Chopper and Nami didn’t suffer from any Nami got very close! You almost could laugh at…everyone didn’t surprise at all by determination and again..they all cared so much..there was your heart..
Ba-Dump
Ba-Dump
Eventually at the end of the night you all decided to get some fresh sleep and try again tomorrow..you knew luffy convinced Mother Eve just a little right?
Little did you know at night..the boy with the straw hat gave orders to the swordsman. Faces dark, and hearts full, these orders would change your life forever..
The next morning you decided to go the Straw hats campsite and check up on them, to your surprise they were packing and seemed..over joyed.?
“Y/N!!”
A cute voice said as the little reindeer known as chopper hopped over to happily. With a smile you bent down to his height, you noticed he still had the flower crown you made him yesterday.
“She said yes!!”
Your eyes widened, you felt like a bunch of rocks hit you.
“A-She did..?”
“Yeah!”
His little hoof then handed you a letter folded rather nicely.
“Here’s her letter! She went somewhere so you’ll just have to come with us now!”
You were to shocked to speak, where did she go..?
“But-”
Before you could finish the reindeer already had your hand. There was that look again that made it hard for you to say no..you could feel the rest of the crew watching..
“Come on Y/N!!”

The Intent Matters
This is part 6/12 of December Event 2023 for @humanoid606
Platonic Yandere Straw Hats & Nonbinary Reader

There was a chill in the air that mixed with the scent of warm spices. It lingered over your bedding as you buried your nose into your pillow, trying to sleep a little longer. Peace was a bit rare on the Thousand Sunny with the Straw Hat Pirates. So you tried to enjoy it as long as you could. But, as expected, it didn’t last long.
There was a gentle knocking.
“Are you awake, teaspoon?” Your nose wrinkled at the nickname. An odd one for Sanji. But sweet.
A little goes a long way, teaspoon.
“…Yeah. I’m awake.” You called back, receiving an amused huff.
“Get dressed and you can help with the Christmas rolls.” Sanji called. “As a treat.” That got you up and moving. The opportunity to help Sanji cook was rare, the chef protective over his kitchen—understandably with your menace of a captain liable to eat everything if given the chance. You made record time throwing on a sweater and taking care of hygiene. The chill present all on the ship despite the heating working hard. Something Franky was fixing since he apparently didn’t expect this level of persistent cold when originally planning the temperature control.
You nearly stumbled into the kitchen, Sanji smiling at your enthusiasm as he dipped his head towards a bowl.
“Mixing duty?” You asked, already knowing the answer as pre-measured bowls lined the counter. Dough from the looks of it. Sanji moved aside as you washed your hands with a pleased hum, glad you remembered your manners and didn’t touch food with dirty hands.
It was a quiet, pleasant atmosphere as you assisted in making rolls for breakfast and setting aside cookie dough for gingerbread later. Rolling, cutting, folding, and setting them in the oven under Sanji’s watchful eye. He even let you ice them.
“Don’t forget your gift, teaspoon.” Sanji reminded in a hushed tone as he set the food on platters for serving. You looked at him in confusion. Eyes looking around for an answer. It was there, suddenly, on the counter. A small box with a red bow on top. Sanji looking at you in amusement as you lifted the lid.
It was a neatly folded apron and a pair of oven mitts. White with little spoons embroidered on the edges, the front of the apron spelling out in delicate calligraphy ‘Little Helper’. You flushed, glancing at him in surprise.
“W-What’s this all about?” You asked softly. Sanji smiled, taking out his cigarette to tap out the ashes into a tray.
“Your own apron and mitts. You’re welcome in my kitchen anytime, teaspoon. Merry Christmas.” Sanji pulled you into a gentle hug. The unexpected affection lingered for a moment before Sanji pulled away with a wink. Or maybe he just blinked, it was hard to say with his hair still covering the other eye. “Chopper has his own gift for you next. After breakfast, though.”
Breakfast was received with the usual cheer and gusto, particularly from Luffy. He took off his hat and settled it on your head, much to your surprise.
“Merry Christmas—you can wear that today. Just today though!” Luffy declared through a mouthful of bacon and cinnamon rolls. You couldn’t help but smile in shock. Sure, Luffy was generally chill with his crew messing with his hat, but to wear it a whole day?
That was a surprising gift.
When everyone—even Luffy—finished eating, Chopper tugged you away to his office.
“I had to look around for a quality bag to hold it all!” Chopper lamented, “Nothing was good enough! Usopp ended up helping make the bag. Here, your gift!” Chopper offered a box between his hooves. Getting rather excited, you lifted the lid and found a canvas bag inside. A bit smaller than something you’d wear to carry your things in, meant more to be worn by your hip with a belt clip and thigh buckle to support it. You pulled it out, inspecting the soft white fabric with a red cross on the outside.
The bag could detach from the fastenings and unzip in a surprisingly display of ingenuity. Medical supplies carefully secured and labelled on every flap, including a pouch of ‘miracle medicines’ from Chopper’s own stash. Things meant only under dire circumstances. Short of literal surgery, you appeared to be set for anything life on board the Thousand Sunny could throw at you.
“Wow, this is… a lot! Shouldn’t you be the one to have all this though? I only know a little first aid after all.” You asked nervously. Chopper smiled, eyes gleaming with determination.
“Don’t worry, I plan to teach you how to use everything in here to it’s fullest potential! Just in case we’re ever separated, I wanted to know you could take care of yourself—or any of our troublesome crewmates!” Chopper laughed and you smiled. It would be handy to have an extra pair of hands in a medical emergency. “Maybe if you have a knack for it, you can even make your own medicine!”
It was rather heartwarming that Chopper had so much faith in your abilities.
“Thanks, Chopper. I love it.” You hugged him close and he chuffed, returning the embrace without even a hint of fake-disdain that he usually did when embarrassed. “I won’t let you down.”
Chopper clicked his tongue.
“As if you ever could! Now, I believe Franky had something for you next!” You snorted, setting him down.
“Am I going to be going to each of you today to get gifts? If I’d known, I would have gotten you all something too… though I don’t really celebrate.” You trailed off weakly, squeezing the bag as Chopper huffed, knowing what you were referring to.
“We know! Next year you can join in—but this year we wanted to show you that things are different here! Now, off you go!” Chopper gently ushered you out of his office. You left with a smile, taking a moment to secure the bag before going on to find Franky. Likely in the engine room, you’d know when you started to smell soda.
The cyborg was always surrounded by the scent of soda.
As expected, he was messing with the machinery deeper in the ship. Inspecting gears and gauges with an array of tools nearby. After a few moments, you knocked on the wall just loud enough to be heard over the mechanical workings. He jolted, looking back with pleased surprise.
“Oh! Hey there! Here for your gift, right?” Franky jerked his head off to the side against the wall where a colorful box waited. “It’s my part of what Usopp and I have been working on! An attachment for a weapon!” Franky laughed. You opened the box to find what like a thick barrel with a selection wheel around the base. Shapes you vaguely recognized as tool inserts for knuts, bolts, and screws along it.
When you clicked the wheel to what appeared to be a regular screw cross shape, a large piece of metal slid out. The tip of a screw, in fact, though clearly for a very large screw.
“Uh… how often am I meant to run into screws this big?” You asked loudly. Franky laughed.
“There’s a regular sized ones in there too that you can remove! But this is what you might find on bigger machines! You never know when you’ll need to tighten—or loosen—something!” Franky declared cheerfully. “Go to Usopp for the other half!”
“Alright, thanks, Franky!” You laughed, taking the box with you. At the very least Usopp can reuse it for something.
Usopp was in his studio, working on something quietly. He heard you coming in just fine and turned with a wide grin, spotting the rather heavy attachment in your arms.
“Oh! Sooner than expected, but that’s alright! I finished it just a few days ago!” Usopp grinned, standing up to rummage through a closet. He pulled out a pole about as tall as your waist. “It’s got some neat tricks. A taser, light, and even an emergency whistle that can be heard for miles around in a thick forest! And, of course, you attach Franky’s gift on the end here for more engineering problems!” Usopp twisted the top to flip through an electrified prong, a tube with a beam of light, and very briefly a whistle that automatically sounded. It was incredibly loud.
You handed him the attachment and it slid into place easily. Now suitably sized for you to use the oversized tools it gave you. With a flick of his hand, they even altered slightly to turn for you, though the screwdrivers didn’t need to for obvious reasons.
“Neat. Kinda hope I never need any of that though.” You commented lightly. Usopp nodded his head sagely.
“Of course! Of course! Still, I think I speak for everyone when I say it’s better to have it and never need it than to need it and never have it!” Usopp declared. “Like Chopper’s medical bag! Hopefully, you never need to open it for anything but an aspirin for headaches, hah!” Usopp laughed, handing the now sizable staff to you.
You weighed it in your hands, getting a feel for it. It was understandably quite hefty. But also just a little too much to carry around regularly. You weren’t exactly built before joining the crew after all.
“It’s nice but… I’m not sure how I’d use it. Or carry it around all the time.” You admitted quietly. Usopp clapped his hand over your shoulder with a reassuring smile.
“That’s where Zoro and Nami come in! Go to the training room, they’re waiting in there for you!” Usopp declared. Hopeful, if a little nervous, you nodded.
That wasn’t exactly the most reassuring combo you could ask for. But still, you made your way to the training room without any fuss.
Nami spotted you first.
“Oh! There you are! And wow, they really went all out with that staff, didn’t they?” Nami asked, holding out her hand. Despite her slender frame, she whipped it around easily, flicking through the various options with an absentminded nod of her head. “Good. Good. Well, as you may have guessed, we’re going to help train you to wield this! I’ll help with technique and Zoro will help with strength training!” Zoro looked up from his own absurdly large weights and nodded.
“By the time the witch and I are done, you’ll be a terror in your own right.” Zoro added with a grin. “Later, though. For now, here’s our actual gifts.”
Zoro tossed something at you and you nearly fell trying to catch it. It was a pair of fingerless gloves with metal on the knuckles. They fit perfectly and had padding for your hands. As you flexed them, getting a feel for the fabric, Nami placed a pouch in them. It was a bag that looked like an orange slice with the unmistakable weight of money in them.
“An allowance, interest free!” Nami winked. “Don’t spend it all in one place!” She warned.
“Oh. T-Thanks.” You said faintly, a little gob smacked that Nami gave you money. Without expecting it back, even! Out of words to say, you put the bag away. “I… I guess I go find Robin or Jinbe now?” you asked, feeling a little adrift at the unexpected gift giving you’d experienced all day.
“They’re both in the kitchen right now, I think, enjoying some tea.” Nami mused, putting the weapon on the wall. “We’ll keep this here until you’re ready to carry it all day. Wouldn’t want to hurt yourself!”
“Merry Christmas.” You called out faintly as you went to find Robin and Jinbe.
As Nami had said, they were in the kitchen taking a moment to themselves. Sanji likely watching over the helm for Jinbe while he was on break before lunch.
“There you are, dear. Come, join us!” Robin called softly, Jinbe smiling and pulling out a chair for you. “Our gifts are also to be enjoyed at the same time. I imagine you’ve had a surprising day.” Robin commented, gently brushing your back as you sat down. She pushed out a box of tea and Jinbe pushed a journal towards you. Both were clearly high quality.
“To write down your thoughts. It gets pretty chaotic around here. So I thought that you’d like the chance to collect yourself through this.” Jinbe added quietly with a soft smile of his own. The journal was made of dyed leather, ocean blue with waves along the cover and the silhouettes of fish swimming to and fro. On a plate was your name engraved, with a fancy pen slipped into a loop between the covers.
Taking a moment, you pulled out a bag of tea labeled ‘noon’. There was also a section of ‘morning’ and ‘bed’ teas. It smelled zesty and like unfamiliar herbs. Robin assisting in pouring a cup to steep the leaves in. While it did, you flipped open the book to look at the pages. They were completely blank, no lines, so you could sketch if you preferred without any interference. The pages also thick and smooth.
You noticed something sticking out of the top. A scrap of newspaper. Curious, you flipped through the book to find it.
It was a small, cut section from a paper. Dated a few weeks ago. It was terse and professional, expressing the condolences for the passing of…
Your family.
Your eyes watered. After all they’d done to you, it was surprising that you could feel mournful of their passing. But over all of that was the overwhelming feeling of relief. You’d never have to see them again. For real this time. Not a chance they could find their way back in your life to tell you those awful things or drag you into the horrible depression that plagued your every step under their roof.
You looked up at them in shock but they just smiled and drank their tea.
“Shishishishishishishi~” Luffy laughed unexpectedly in your ear. “It was hard to keep it a secret, but Sanji said it would be worth it!” Rubber arms wrapped around you as he hugged you, resting his chin on top of his hat.
“I still say we should have done the same for Sanji.” Robin mused. “At least his father…” she sighed. You could feel Luffy shake his head.
“Nah, seeing Sanji be the best cook in the world is better. Let that bitter ass stew in failure… if he tries another ‘whole cake’ again though, Sanji will just have to suck it up.” Luffy denied ominously. “You’re ours, but as long as they were alive, you’d always be on the look out for them. Afraid of the chance they’d show up and take you back. And now they won’t. Captain’s orders.”
You could hear the rest of the crew respond in kind as they came into the kitchen. Sanji entering your field of view to pull out his knives, ostensibly to cut up meat for lunch but the metal gleamed with warning in the light.
“Captain’s orders.”
There was an unfamiliar and almost oppressive weight to those words. Like there was another layer to the order.
You’re never leaving. Captain’s orders.
But you strangely didn’t feel threatened. They didn’t want to lock you in a room or beat you for ‘ruining things’. You were wanted here. Very much. They wanted you safe. They wanted you happy. And they were willing to go to extraordinary lengths to do it.
You should be afraid. But you weren’t. You relaxed in your chair as Luffy laughed softly above you. Hand over his arm as you finally responded.
“Captain’s orders…”
You weren’t going anywhere. Why would you?

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 (opla!luffy x fem!reader)
sʏɴᴏᴘsɪs: After your one night stand with Luffy you thought that was the last of seeing the straw hat boy, keyword thought. Guess your not ‘one of the girls’ that you thought you was
ᴡᴀʀɴɪɴɢ: slight cursing, strangling, gore, kidnapping, yandere!luffy just a little bit, crew members being just as dark
Tumblr media
I yawned pulling my hands to support my face on the counter, looking around the customers that where here.
I was still having a headache form last night and going partying with Issa
“Tell me why again we have work today?” Issa spoke up from behind me after just now walking in the bar
“Because we need money to support ourselves” I mumbled out in a whisper not really in the mood to do anything, especially after the heavy drinking last night
She sighed taking a seat next to me laying her head on the counter while staring up
“So how was it” she then asked out making me give her a look in which her eyes went wide
“O-oh it was like that” she then giggled making me groan
Why is she asking me this now when I have a headache
“I don’t wanna talk about it..” I mumbled out getting ready to get up and get back to washing out the cups the customers used
“Oh c’monnn Y/n that was your first time getting laid can you at least tell your best friend how it went..especially since it was with a pirate” Issa expressed out loud whining
I sighed
Must she be so loud
“He was good okay..” I half told her the truth
Truthfully he was absolutely amazing especially being a devil fruit holder, and using his powers during sex it was so magical.
But you won’t see me telling her that..I’ll just keep it to myself
“Okay as in..” she whined some more
“Good, Issa fucking amazing, is that what you want me to say” I breathed out in frustration
She only laughed out at my answer
“Now can I please get back to washing out these shitty glassware that I’m supposed to wash or would you like to ask me more questions about my sex life” I said rolling my eyes at her
“Okay, okay go on” she chuckled out
I huffed out a breathe of air and and turned my heel walking into the back to wash these dishes so that I could hurry up and go back home to my bed
While washing these dishes I couldn’t help but think back to that amazing straw hat pirate that I spent the night with
I wasn’t even gonna go party but Issa kept pestering me about me still being a virgin at my age when there’s thousands of hot pirates out there that constantly come in and out of our doors
This was the first time I took up on her offer, usually I would have dismissed it and told her no or made up some excuses that I was either tired or too hungry to go
I sighed out getting out my thoughts..
“Y/n you’ve gotten company” Issa said running inside the back with a wide smile on her face
I nearly jumped at the loudness of her voice
“Who?” I asked out
“Your knight in shinning armor” she giggled out
I rolled my eyes at this
She must be fucking with me again
“Issa nows not-”
“She’s back here, why don’t you come” she then said interrupting me and speaking to someone that was out in the main part of the bar
I looked over at her confused as she only smiled leaving
Right then that straw hat pirate had walked in with that same wide smile from last night
fuck why me god
“hey” he said smiling down at me
“uh..” I shuffled around wiping off my hands from the soap
“don’t you have a ship to be on right now” I asked out a bit confused
“About that, I came here to take you with me” he announced out as if what he’s saying is the most normalest thing in the world
“Huh?” I asked out
Come again?
“I wanna invite you to join my crew” he said trying to simple down his invitation to sounding normal
“and what exactly would I be able to contribute to this crew of yours” I asked out a bit skeptical of what this guys asking
“nothing at all just sit there and look beautiful” he breathed out pausing a bit to get himself back together
Yeah no..
“As much as I would like I just can’t.. sorry” I said awkwardly putting my lips into a thin line since now I don’t know what to do
His smile went down a bit
Fuck
“Why not?” He asked a bit monotone
“Cause I have people to take care of and things to do on my small island that’s safe with nothing dangerous-”
before I could continue on with my rant as to why I will not join his crew on whatever nonsense there doing he interrupted me
“I can protect you” he pleaded out
I almost felt bad for turning the poor guy down but my safety matters
Sorry :/
“No and my answer is still a No” I finalized
He went quiet
I looked at him and saw he looked like he was thinking is something, I shrugged it off and just looked somewhere else
“Well then.. I’m sorry for this that I’m about to do..” he said putting on a now more serious expression
Huh?
I furrowed my eyebrows
Tf he mean
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusing cause what the hell is going on
Right then he back up a bit more and leaned back stretching out his arms and then right to my jaw it went
I didn’t even have time to process it as my body drop down and my vision where gone
..
“you know when you said you were bringing something you forgot on the island..I uh didn’t think you’d be brining a unconscious person tied up..”
My eyes were starting to slightly open as I was out of consciousness hearing voice talking, mumbled voices
I groaned out feeling my headache starting to worsen after that ridiculous punch I got
“I couldn’t leave the island without her.. she’s my soulmate I couldn’t live with myself without her” someone else talking whines out
Is that the straw hat boy..sounds about right I’m guessing
I tried opening my eyes but I felt too weak for that
“And what exactly does your lover contribute to this crew other than being your undying lover” another voice said in a much sarcastic tone
“Same thing as Nami”
“She’s good at navigating?” A female voice joined in
“Ye, she’s good at everything” the person boosted on
“Listen dude, I always knew you were crazy but this seems a little bit out of your crazy zone” another male voice joined in
“Don’t be ridiculous Usopp this isn’t crazy it’s being I love” the person cheered on laughing out loud
“Well it isn’t like he’s harming her..so it couldn’t be this bad and At least we have another beautiful female here aside from Nami too” a more firmer tone spoke
“Why don’t we go wake her up it’s been a minute seen we heard anything since luffy brought her on..at least to check if she’s alive” a female voice said
I freaked out
Shit they were coming
I tried moving my hands but he had tied the rope all over my body with my legs tied together and so were my arms
I tried biting the rope but it was hard as fuck
I tried jumping up moving around to try to shimmer the ropes off my wrist
Looking around for anything
Right then I saw a bunch of pots and knives and a..sink
Yes I was in a kitchen!
I then started hopping over to the sink to get the knife
“Let’s just wake her u-” the voiced stopped speaking as I felt there presence behind me
FUCK
“Luffy’s girlfriend is trying to break out using sanji’s cooking knives” a voiced laughed out
I turned around looking at a group of people that were infront of me
I nearly screamed.. screw that I did
In which the straw hat boy ran over and covered my mouth
“Mmm” I muffled out
“Hey..calm down okay” he rasped out trying to calm me down
“You just kidnap her and asked her to be calm” a female with orange hair said
I bit his hand and he retracted it groaning in pain
“Get me out of here!” I roared out in anger
“Excuse my captain madam as I can see that this isn’t how any beautiful woman as yourself should be treated” A handsome blonde spoke to me
“This isn’t how we normally welcome new crew mates” a green haired man joined in
“And who said I was apart of this crew..I don’t remember ever taking up on his invitation” I spit out
“Yes you are!” The straw hat man suddenly yelled out jumping me a bit
He seemed to noticed this and regained his composure
“Look I made promise to myself that the day I lost my virginity is the day I’ve found the person I’d want to grow a life with” the straw hat man expressed out darkly looking over at me
“B-but what about my friends and family, you can expect me to just leave them” I yelled back
“It’s a little too late for that” he said slowly coming closer to me and turning my head towards the window behind me as I saw nothing but endless waters and no island in sight
It’s too late
“But don’t you worry we’ll come back to show them our kids to meet there aunts and grandparents” he whispered into my ear softly
My eyes went wide
My lips began trembling and I felt like crying
“If I have to you know I will” he warned keeping his firm grip on my shoulder while slowly turning my head to make eye contact
Fuck what did I get myself into..

(´ε` )♡ Thinkin about a very clingy Zoro
CW: Sort of Yandere/Nonestablished Relationship. Noncon/dubcon. Fem!Reader
He's not vocal about his clinginess, more of a action man instead. Since you were first accepted in the crew, he wasn't all that welcoming compared to the rest of the crew. Especially Sanji who quickly warmed up to you, making you your favorites dishes and drinks on the night to celebrate your arrival in the crew. You were playing around with Chopper and Usopp when you felt someone sit in the seat right next to you, looking to your left you find the green-haired swordsman chugging down a mug of beer.
His eye lazily glanced down at you with his one good eye, slamming down his mug, making you jump a bit in your seat. He raised an eyebrow at that.
"Didn't think our new crewmate would be so jumpy." He snorted, making your face heat up and your blood boil a bit. Usopp waves him off, "Oh, come on! We all can't be power monsters like you guys. I, for one, am glad to add another person who has common sense to our crew!" He quickly changes the mood by taking your hand in his and pulling you to the dance floor, Chopper following suit. The three of you hold hands in a circle and started jumping around. You quickly forgot about that small interaction with Zoro, but that entire night he never took his eye off of you.
You soon realized that Zoro is just a bit rough around the edges and mostly blunt but he doesn't mean any real harm. Still, you keep your distance mostly from him, opting to hang out with Chopper or Usopp instead. There was just something about the way he looks at you, like he was eyeing down a prey, it makes your spine shiver anytime you glance his way and catch him staring back.
Maybe he was still untrusting of you? It would make sense, he is the first mate, he gotta protect his crew after all. That was the reason you told yourself at least, to justify all the time you caught Zoro just staring at you from afar or downright following you. You gotten slowly used to his presence, not jumping up in shock anymore, anytime he would sneak up behind you or placed a hand on your shoulder.
Zoro got warmer to you, you think at least. He's usually fighting beside you in battles, or walking close by when you're out shopping in town. A hand on your shoulder, moves to a hand down your back, to a hand on your waist. You figured after a while, he accepted you as a crewmate and was just overprotective of the newcomer. It didn't help you found Zoro kinda attractive, so you let him get away with the small touching he did.
And then the touching grew into more and more, and you found yourself not being able to voiced out concerns anymore. The other crewmate, beside Luffy, often giggled when they find the two of you together. Usopp and Franky would make kissy faces when Zoro would sit next to you at lunch. Sanji looks at you dejected from time to time, muttering under his breath, "What does she even see in that moss-brain idiot.."
It wasn't like you were dating Zoro, right? He never asked you out officially, he just always been there. Always...
And, now he was getting bold with his actions. When he's sleeping on the desk, resting his back on the side of the Sunny, he would sense you walking by and trips you on purpose. Making you land on his lap and holding you there. Letting out a huge yawn over your complaining and rolling over on top of you, if you were to squirm around too much. Brook would wolf-whistle if you kept on squirming while underneath Zoro, making you effectively stop all movement.
When it's his turn on the Crow Nest, Zoro would pick you up by the scuff of your shirt, dragging you away from whatever it was you're doing and make you go up there with him. He'll do the same when he's in training at the gym. Stating that he needs "help" with his workout. Though, you're not sure what you're helping by just sitting on his chest or back while he does his reps.
If you're in town or meeting other crews, Zoro would be behind you, or he'll have you tucked into his side, arms around you tight. Glaring at anyone who ever tries to look your way. All the other crews knew that you were 'Zoro's property' and not to mess with you, unless they wanted to end up on impaled on his swords.
He knew your routine to a T, what time you woke up, takes a shower, your daily tasks. And he would just be there at your side or if he had another task to do, he'll keep an eye on you, always...
He knew what you like and dislike, picking up small snacks and trinkets for you, dropping them off on your lap without a word. But looking down at you expectingly, like cat wanting praise for being their owner an offering. Though you were unsure who was the pet and who was the owner in this scenario, as somehow you ended up in Zoro's bed.
Dragged away once again, right after a bath night with the girls too. Nami giggled at the two of you and Robin told you to "Keep it safe." as she waves you off, the both of them seemingly ignoring the confused and panicked look on your face.
He smelt like musk and sweat and you idly wondered if he showered yet or just came to bed right after the gym. He was still shirtless as he presses you right up agaisnt his chest, his head buried on top of your hair. Snuffing at your scent, a deep rumble blooms in his chest as he squeezes you a bit tighter, his biceps trapping you in this position. He lets out a deep sigh, hands traveling down your body, grabbing and pinching at your skin.
Grunting out when you start to wiggle and struggle a bit in his grasp, accidentally brushing your knees right up against his hard on. He push his own knee right between your legs, forcing them apart as he makes you grind on his thigh. The thin pajamas short you were wearing did little to help against the friction it was causing, he flexes his thighs in a way that make you mewl out and dig your nails in his shoulders.
"Good girl.." He growls out, finally addressing you like a person and not some doll.
"Zo-Zoro, what are we-Mmph!" He silences you with a kiss, speeding up his movement and moving his hands down to grope at your ass. His tongue parting your lips open and invading your mouth hotly. You moan so sweetly underneath him like this, your back arching up into him as he remove one hand to ghost under your shirt, pinching at your nipples.
He parts away from you, and from the moonlight coming thru the window. You saw Zoro's face, flushed with a light pink, and his eye starting down at you. A deep dark desire swirling within them, he grins almost manically at you.
"I knew it... I always knew you wanted me too...haha.."
He moves back a bit to get both legs in between yours so he could spread you open even more. His hands gripping the soft flesh of your thighs and pushing it to your chest. Your hands clamber to stop him, heart racing over this fast exchange of events.
"You're gonna be punished for making me wait so long.."

Hello 👋 I am a fan of all your work!!
I was wondering if you were still taking requests? If you are here’s an idea: reader (or Lucky) is turn into a child due to a devil fruit and the yandere Strawhats go into over drive to protect them because the reader can’t fight?
Thanks!!
I decided to do this with Lucky since I haven’t updated Lucky Break in a hot minute (I’m sorry but the requests and au’s have been too good). I’m just gonna stick with the east blue gang for this because if I go any further then I’m gonna spoil some stuff. This takes place post Arlong park but pre Loguetown. Lucky is around 4 here. There really isn't much yandere going on here, it's mostly them being wholesome.
Read Lucky Break for context
Get back here!
Straw Hats x Child Reader (Lucky)

Tumblr media
“Luffy please stop carrying her like that you’re going to drop her!” Nami screeched while trying to snatch you out of his hand.
Luffy only laughed and danced out of the way, still holding you by the ankle while you giggled right along with him. Blood was starting to rush to your head a little bit, but you were having too much fun to complain about it. You couldn’t remember the last time you had this much fun!
“Lucky’s fine! She wouldn’t be laughing if she wasn’t!” Despite this, he decided to change his hold on you. By tossing you high into the air. Your giggles fell short at the sensation of sailing into the sky and you couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful ocean surrounding you. Gravity caught up, and you fell back into Luffy’s clutches with him holding you under your armpits.
Sanji stormed over and wrenched you out of his grip, and cradling you like a baby, “Are you insane?! What if you didn’t catch her, are you trying to give this one a head injury too?!” You were being squished into his chest while he was aggressively petting your hair and bouncing you as if you were upset. Which you weren’t. Well, you weren’t before but this treatment was more than a little annoying.
Your squirming got his attention back on you as you tried to get out of the somewhat suffocating hold he had on you. This effort was all in vain, as he simply readjusted his grip on you. “What’s wrong, princess? Did that stupid meathead hurt you?” Not even waiting for an answer, he was holding you out to search for any possible injury with a scrutinizing stare.
“No! Put me down, I’m not a baby!” You protested, uselessly kicking your little legs. Sanji’s face fell and he looked like you just stabbed him in the heart. His grip slackened enough for you to be able to free yourself, so naturally you went for it.
The second your feet hit the floor you spun on your heels and ran to Luffy, arms held up to him, “Again! Again!”
Luffy grinned broadly and was quick to do just that, grabbing your tiny waist and launching you into the air before anyone could stop him. Loud shrieks of protest resounded beneath you, but you could barely hear them over the peals of laughter coming out of you. You were so high up that you could look the jolly roger in the eye. Birds were flying past you just a bit higher, glancing at you curiously.
You fell down into Luffy’s hands again, but he learned from last time and immediately ran away from everyone crowding around him with you thrown over his shoulder.
“Would you stop?! What if she fell into the ocean?!” Nami yelled, desperately trying to close the gap between herself and you.
“One of you could’ve gotten her then, right?” Luffy said as if it were painfully obvious, turning to face them and cocking his head to the side.
While his back was turned, Usopp took the opportunity to try and creep up from behind. He made an exaggerated shushing motion to try and keep you quiet. It didn’t work. “Luffy! Usopp’s trying to sneak up on you!” You tattled on him with a smile on your face. Usopp’s jaw dropped at the betrayal.
“Huh? He is?” Luffy whirled around, to verify this. “What are you doing crouched down like that? You tryin’ to play leap frog or something?”
Nami took him having his back turned as her chance. She lunged for you, but wasn’t quick enough. Luffy sidestepped, causing her to plow right into Usopp and tackle him to the ground with a yelp. You giggled and clapped your hands at the mayhem.
After untangling herself from Usopp, Nami growled in aggravation, “Zoro! Would you quit working out for three seconds and help us?!”
Zoro barely spared her more than a glance before resuming his bicep curls, “Luffy’s just playing with her. What’s the big deal? Relax.”
Sanji ran up from the side, coming very close to grabbing you, only for Luffy to use his stretchy arms to rocket himself up to the crowsnest. There was a cacophony of yelling coming from the deck beneath you.
Luffy’s whole body shook with laughter as he watched his crew scramble to figure out what to do next. You were perched up on his shoulders now with his hands holding onto your ankles, taking in the sight of the chaos with him. As your own laughter died down, your attention was drawn to his hat. It looked pretty cool to you, and you wanted to wear it.
Without a moment’s hesitation, you plucked it off his head and put it onto your own. His shoulders stiffened immediately, and he snapped his head up to look at you. Not that you were paying much attention to him, rather choosing to smile triumphantly at successfully getting your hands on his hat. You looked down at him happily and asked, “Does wearing this make me the captain now?”
“Wha- Hey! First you steal my hat and now you’re trying to take my position, too?! You’re getting the hang of this pirate thing really fast!”
You weren’t able to bask in your victory for very long, the next thing you knew he pulled you off his shoulders by one of your ankles and you were back to how you were being carried around before.
Your grip on his hat wasn’t strong enough to keep him from getting it back. Luffy fixed it back onto his head with an exaggerated huff. He gave you a “serious” stare that only caused you to giggle more.
“Mutiny is a serious crime, you know! You’re in trouble now!”
This made you stop instantly, eyes shooting wide and panic setting in. You were just playing, you didn’t mean to make him mad, much less mad enough to get you into trouble. The smile that had been plastered onto your face up until now fell and your lip began to tremble. You tried to keep a brave face and not be “an attention-seeking crybaby” as your parents put it, but your resolve wasn’t strong enough and tears started to well in your eyes.
Luffy’s demeanor switched just like that, and he started to panic right with you. “Whoa, hey, you don’t need to cry about it! I was just kidding! You’re not really in trouble!” You were shifted into an upright position and brought in for a hug. He was bouncing you slightly and patting your back (a little harshly, but you didn’t say anything about it).
You sniffled pitifully, “I’m not? You promise?”
“Yeah! I promise!”
“Okay…” you mumbled, rubbing at your eyes with your sleeve to try and stop the tears that had begun to drip down your face.
“Luffy you- Why is she crying?!” Nami had finally made it up to the crowsnest, only to be horrified upon seeing your teary-eyed expression. She barely had a leg in before aggressively taking you into her arms and smacking Luffy’s head.
“Crying?!” Sanji popped up behind her a moment later. He took a second to confirm that it was indeed you that was crying, and then went after Luffy like a rabid dog. “How dare you make the little lady cry!”
“Hey, I didn’t do it on purpose! We were just playing around!” Luffy shot himself backwards, tumbling over the edge to escape Sanji’s pursuit. Sanji didn’t hesitate to leap down after him. They both hit the ground with a series of thuds and you heard Zoro saying some swear words. Did they land on him?
Nami was rocking you back and forth and scowling down at them, muttering under her breath about them being a bunch of idiots. When she switched her attention to you, her face softened, “Are you okay, Lucky? Our dumb captain didn’t hurt you, did he?”
You shook your head, “No, I’m okay. He just said I was in trouble for mutiny but then said he was joking so I guess I’m fine.”
“Mutiny?”
“I stole his hat and tried to be the captain,” you admitted to your crimes sorrowfully, still ashamed of your actions even though Luffy said that you weren’t in trouble.
Nami snorted at this, but coughed and tried to hide it, “Yeah, don’t worry about it, honey. I’m sure he was just joking around with you, but I’m still going to yell at him later for making you cry.” She rubbed your back reassuringly, offering you her sweetest smile, “Are you hungry? How about we get you something to eat.”
“Hmm, okay,” you conceded, food sounded pretty good right about now. There was something that was bothering you though, “Hey Nami? How come everyone keeps calling me Lucky?”
Realization flashed across her face, “Oh right! You remember how we said that you’ve been traveling with us for a while now when you first woke up here? Well, you see, you haven’t been able to remember your name so we’ve just been calling you a nickname.”
“Why can’t I remember my name?”
She scowled at the memory, “Because our stupid captain “accidentally” hit your head when you first met and made you forget everything.” Shaking her head to dismiss the thought, she focused her attention back on you, “But now you do have your memories! Why don’t you tell me your name?”
You mulled this over in your head, feeling a little unsure of this crazy story. Nami was staring at you with anticipation, so you made up your mind quickly. “Nope!” You stuck your tongue out at her mischievously, “It’s a secret!”
She gasped and held a hand to her chest in mock betrayal, “Lucky! Come on, please tell me! If you do, I'll keep it a secret, too!”
“Nuh-uh! I’m not telling!” You nodded resolutely, enjoying having a secret of your own. It felt so powerful!
Nami sulked her shoulders upon seeing the determination in your eyes, knowing she wasn’t going to win this one for the time being. She sighed and began climbing down the rope ladder to the deck, “Fine, you win for now.” She looked over to where Sanji was still fighting with Luffy (and also Zoro for some reason?) and called out to him, “Hey Sanji, Lucky is hungry!”
Immediately, he violently shoved both crewmates away from him and turned to you two with a slightly disheveled appearance. While attempting to straighten out his clothes and hair, he grinned warmly at you, “How could I be so careless as to not check if you were hungry myself? What’s your favorite food? I’ll make anything you want to make up for it.”
“Really? Anything?” Your eyes were sparkling and you felt your mouth watering as all of your favorite foods flashed through your head.
“Yes, anything,” he repeated back.
You squealed in excitement and clambered into his arms once he was close enough, “You’re the best, mister Sanji!” As you began to rattle off some of your favorites, Sanji was clutching at his chest and trying his damnedest not to give out from how cute this was.
“That sounds good! I want some of that, too!” Luffy popped up at his side, eyeing his cook expectantly.
Sanji’s dopey expression twisted into a scowl and he swung his leg at him, “You don’t get any, stay out of my da-” he cleared his throat, “out of my kitchen.”
Luffy dodged it with a practiced ease and kept following anyway, tacking on other foods he thought Sanji should make while he’s at it. All of it was meat.
You swung your feet happily, watching the interaction. You don’t really understand how your grown up self got to know these people, or how you got turned into a child. Seriously, what’s a devil fruit? But, you think you get why you wanted to be with them despite getting hit on the head by one of them. They seem like fun and nice people.
