How does the Wukongverse gang feel about the stone matriarch au updates? Do they still keep in touch with each other?

The Wukongverse isn't a linear au/story, so they just hang out whenever.

That being said, if Dawn/LMK!SWK experiences the Stone Matriarch au and all that it implies...

Dasheng: "Oh hey, you've been busy-" Dawn, thousand-yard stare: "There used to be more of us. There used to be a troupe of Stone Monkeys on Mount Huaguo, and their last Matriarch was out mother." Rest of the monkeys: "...wut" ( 0_0) Dawn: "They were wiped out in the Great Flood when the Heavenly Pillar broke. When my mother thought that she had lost her mate, she deliberately buried herself to form the Stone Egg that would become me." Cherry: "The boulder is our mom!?" Other Monkeys: "Shush!" Ace: "While these plot twists are so very entertaining, can we see some evidence?" Dawn: *quietly reveals Luzhen, fast asleep in a papoose* The Other Monkeys: "!!!" Dawn: "My mother's mate didn't die in the flood, but had become trapped beneath the mountain. He too made a Stone Egg." Starfruit, confused: "He looks exactly like you, man!" Smokey, calculating "Well since mates naturally share dao.. then that would make him our-" Shihou, bounces up excited: "WE HAVE A LITTLE BROTHER!" Sugar, worried: "But what if *ours* is still stuck under the mountain?" All the SWKs: "..." All the SWKs:

They leave the meeting room deserted within seconds.

Some of their respective LEMs come running too while others are super confused/worried.

Dusk/LMK!LEM just wanders in, checks on Luzhen to make sure the baby wasn't scared by all the noise, and comments:

Dusk: "Wow. You didn't even touch the fact that Guanyin is your mother's reincarnation." The LEMs, all-hearing: "SHE'S/THEY'RE WHAT?!

Lots of chaos ensues across the multiverse as the differnt monkeys try to figure out what parts of the Stone Matriarch story fits their worlds.

The ones who manage to unearth their version of Luzhen clutch the newborn Stone Monkey tight, sobbing at the joy of finding another of their kind.

I want to introduce you to

Sun Yūkuai

the daughter of the great sage equal to heaven

The clothes in which she is in this image is her uniform, she was teleported in the middle of her classes :(

Let's talk a little about her:

She is the daughter of swk as mentioned above, she goes to high school and is 15 years old.

They are a very studious and responsible person, even so, being the child of the famous monkey king, I clearly inherited her way of being so adventurous and how he gets carried away by his emotions sometimes, likes to make friends, explore places and meet new people along the way.

He is a monkey like his father, but she uses magic/glamor to have a human appearance so as not to cause trouble, always try to be as polite as possible with everyone.

He is also gender fluid and often uses magic to change her appearance to what she feels that day, although he also uses any pronouns.

When he first came to the wukongverse, he was lost in the fruit mountain forest. this is why mac and mihou heard something from afar but they weren't sure what it was.She was lost for a while until she saw the house and decided to try her luck, she went there and knocked on the door several times until it was opened.

She didn't really pay much attention to how they looked, she just wanted to know where he was and how he got there. but after entering that house and taking a good look at the people in it...

They all looked almost the same as their father.

and so begins his adventure in the wukongverse.

He is 15 years old

He is an only child, therefore he tends to treat the little ones like his younger siblings.this will happen with liuer and see mk as an older brother figure

She knows how to cook since most of the time she tends to make her own lunches for school

In fact, he has a nanny/babysitter since he was a child since his father was not usually at home or too busy to spend time with her. It was never intentional on his part, he just has a lot of work but he always tries to compensate in some way

tends to call her nanny/babysitter mother by accident as she was the closest thing to a mother figure

They are a very sociable person but they have a fairly small circle of friends, since there are few people with who she really feels comfortable.

In this Au Macaque and wukong they are more like brothers, therefore he would be like his uncle and he really loves him a lot since his father was there when his father couldn't

in fact he has a little cousin who is the son of mac! She also loves him very much, it is her little family and she adores them

It is small and somewhat broken, but it is still the family that they love so much 💕

@theweirdhybrid has given me permission to write a fic for their wonderful au where five different Wukong's end up in lmk. here is a sneak peek of said fic!! (hope you like it btw hybrid)

When Wukong awoke the next morning surrounded by many of his little monkeys in a cuddle pile he almost missed the sensations, opting instead to try and catch some more sleep before Mk would come and they would talk a lot of things out. However, in those moments when the sleep he was enjoying so much evaded him that the sensation of power really hit him causing his eyes to shoot open. Panicked he went straight for the relic room where the source of so much power was coming from. 

For a moment Wukong thought it was the relic, that it had somehow activated and now the inhabitants of the mountain would be in trouble. But when the monkey king actually saw what was causing such a spike his train of thought stopped completely, body frozen in place, and mouth agape with something akin to shock and horror painted on his face. Honestly, Wukong had to slap himself just to see if he was still dreaming because on the floor of his relic room were nine figures, five of which were monkeys… 

The first one his eyes scanned over was small, 4’ if that, brown fur covered him, and instantly he noticed that the same clothing that he was given by Guianyin and his master at the beginning of his journey were on him, the yellow tunic, blue tippet, tiger skin wrap that was around his waist, blue pants, and worst of all the fillet around his head. Seeing that thing practically made him sick to his stomach. 

The second was just as short, fur a much lighter almost yellowish colour, he seemed to have on a more armour-oriented garb with the phoenix plums on his head, red-yellow shoulder and thigh guards, an orange tunic, brown pangs, black boots and a green tippet. His appearance greatly reminded him of when he had just received his new wardrobe from the dragon kings after getting his staff. 

The third was tall, like really tall, his fur was a dark reddish-brown and he also wore journey clothing but much fancier, he had on a red kuapao that ended just before his knees it had gold trim and jade green shoulder embroidery, keeping the kuapao closed was the tiger skin wrap and a piece of black fabric tied as a sort of guodu belt, he had a black tunic, black pants and red wrappings around his shins as well as a fillet of his own. Again it made him sick, the memories trying to claw their way up from the depths of his head. 

The fourth one looked Lanky, with long arms, shortish legs, and red fur, honestly his proportions kinda through wukong for a loop. His clothing was ragged at best with a yellow tunic untucked and ripped at the bottom and sleeves, a grey sash keeping it shut, light blue pants, and leather shin guards. The chains around his wrists didn’t escape Wukongs eyes or the bags under his eyes. 

The fifth and final one looked the wildest out of them all, he was likely as tall as the third if not taller, with wild white fur on his head which kinda reminded wukong of a main, and the rest of the fur on his body was a light brown. Though it was kinda hard to see under his hot pink fitted suit, brown dress shoes, bangles, chains, and mask. Honestly, Wukong was kinda doubting this one was even a monkey until he sturred slightly (scaring the shit out of him) and his mask fell from his face revealing it slightly. 

Looking the five over both with and without the golden eyes Wukong was faced with an impossible situation… they were all him. Well definitely different versions of him if it wasn’t apartment by clothing (why would any version of him wear pink??), fur colour, and size. Trying not to have a crisis he turned his attention to the other four bodies in the room. 

One was definitely Liuer Minhuo, from the silver-white fur to the bloody SIX EARS! It was plain as day to see that this one was Mac. it unnerved him slightly, made his heart race and mind cloud with guilt some but he shoved those feelings off as he examined the child next to the lanky him. 

Instantly he could see that the kid was mortal and not that old so he made sure to check for injuries without waking the boy and when he made sure that he had none then Wukong allowed himself to take in his appearance. He had a shaved head, dull, dirty clothing, and seemed to be grasping for lanky him… Wukong moved him closer and watched as the kid curled into the lanky him sighing comfortably and the monkey visibly relaxed as soon as the child felt on him. 

Knowing the boy was taken care of Wukong turned to the young man in red. He could distinctly feel the presence of Nezha on him, he had spiky black hair, a dark red leather jacket, black jeans, brown shin-high boots, and he could even make out the sky ribbon around his arm underneath the jacket sleeve. Clearly, this was a version of Nezha from another world who came with a version of him. That would be interesting… 

Finally, there was the-

“Monkey!!” 

“HOLY FUC-” 

Appearing right in front of his face was the last one, it seemed to be some kind of spirit with immense power. It took the form of what almost seemed to be a peach (yes like the fruit) kinda humanoid being. It had a leaf cape and was actually really cute with its high-pitched voice and wide brown eyes.

Raising his hands he let the little one land on them, “you gave me a real good scare there!” that caused them to laugh at him, once they were calmed down again Wukong asked them; “what's your name?” 

Surprisingly they gave him an answer, “Fruity!”

Any Journey to the West AU's or iterations you particularly enjoy/like?

I’m a big fan of the Wukongverse! I would have to say that’s probably the most obvious AU that I really enjoy seeing.

As for other AUs I can’t really say like much considering that either they are very niche or just barely deviating from the original stuff. If anything, I just like seeing other artist interpretations of Xiyouji and what kind of creation come from the imagination from there.

Particularly at the moment I really like any AU with the Supplement or JTTS children and how Wukongs handles being a single dad/being in a found family. Those are probably my biggest comfort.

Hi! It's me again :3, I don't know (and remember) if anyone has asked this before but I would like to know:

How did OG!MK feel when he found out that SW is his father in another dimension (I feel like Mei would say something like "See? I told you he was your dad" or something)

If it happens before S4, I feel like Mk would be a little jealous of his other self seeing that he doesn't have the problem of not knowing who his biological parents.

(The idea occurred to me when I remembered a tiktok that said MK used any type of editing app to get an idea of ​​what his parents would look like 🥲)

Think i did do a post like that ages ago, but only with an earlier draft of TMKATI and canon. Now I have like three more verses to torment MK with >:)

When the Canon verse and the other verses collide, the quickest thing the MKs would notice is their appearances.

OG!MK: "Whoa!! These me's are monkey demons!" TMKATI!MK: "And you guys are... human???" SlowBoiled!MK: "Yeah, why wouldn't him- I mean me be?" CenturyEgg!MK: "I don't know about you guys - but my parents are monkey demons. Then again my gūtā [dad's gender neutral older sibling] is human, I think???" JTTWEgg!MK: "My parents are monkey demons! The coolest monkey demons ever I may brag." TMKATI!MK: "Oh no way! My parents are monkey demons too! i have a bunch of adopted siblings though. Does your dad work with Bóbo[dad's older brother] Pigsy too?" CenturyEgg!MK: "No cus Uncle Pigsy and Tang lives in the city. We all live on Flower Fruit Mountain - but we visit as often as possible! The different MKs collaborate to tell stories about themselves (and get a solid PSA on Stone Eggs) while their respective Meis are snapping photos with eachother.

The different monkeys watch on nervously. The different monkey kings are sitting politely as their Macaques hiss at eachother from across the room.

OG!SWK: "So uh... did you tell him yet?" Other Monkeys: "Tell him what?" SlowBoiled!SWK: "About him being made by Nuwa, or the fact that we were forced to abandon him?" The CenturyEgg and TMKATI monkeys: "What." TMKATI!SWK, laughing nervously: "What? Oh gods no. I thought you guys meant telling him who we are!" The Other Monkeys: "Wut" CenturyEgg!SWK: "Your MK doesn't know that you guys are... Us?" TMKATI!LEM: "Nah, we've sorta been off-the-grid ever since genius here [thumb-points at his SWK] got me pregnant with our MK." The Stone Egg au SWKs: "Hah!" "Uno reverse card, plums!" Stone Egg LEMs: *all three have varying looks of horror, indignance, and bashfulness* SlowBoiled!LEM: "I said I was sorry!" OG!LEM: "Wait... what do you mean by sorry?" TMKATI!LEM: "Oh, my Wukong was still responsible there. He sealed the Harbringer's soul inside me after using a sealing spell. TMKATI!SWK: "I panicked, ok!" OG!SWK, pointing at the remaining universes: "Annnd you two literally birthed him yourselves." CenturyEgg and JttwEgg SWKs: "Yup." "Stone shell and all." OG!SWK: "...is there anything else I'm missing?" The other universes: (*scratching their chins in thought*) SlowBoiled!LEM, slyly: "So are you guys back together yet, or what?" OG Monkeys: "What!?" Laughter just erupts around the room as the canon shadowpeach pairing realises that they're the odd ones out as *not* being together.

Complete and utter chaos reigns when the parent and MK groups reunite, and they recognise some sort of connection...

For the Wukongverse, what do the SWKs feel about Mac / being married to Mac?

Like jealousy, confusion, or heartbreak?

I think only New Gods had any mentioned of Mac. (NG!SWK pretend to be him)

Will be funny if the other SWKs start flirting with Mac. Mac will be so flustered while LMK! SWK will be so annoyed.

One of my fave interpetations of different Macaques in the new JttW-inspired media is this one by @m4nt1dr4x. I especially love the idea of all these different Wukongs meeting their Macaque for the first time and being like; "Whoa... another weird monkey like me? And they cute!?"

But a bunch of them have yet to meet their Macaque, so they see LMK au Shadowpeach and are befuddled.

*all the SWK's are hanging out at LMK's Wukong's place* LMK!Mac, casually walks into room: "Peach, where's my fabric scissors? I need to fix one of Bai He's stuffed animals." LMK!SWK: "They're in the bathroom. I was using them to make toilet paper origami." Truth

my brain immediately latches onto Dasheng (Hero is Back) for some reason cus theres a bit in the song sequence of HiB where Silly Girl does a very baby-monkey esque move of clinging to his arm and climbing onto his back, and Dasheng just accepts it and carries her for the next scene.

He doesn't even comment or look mad that the baby straight up peed on him. To him it's just another tiresome monkey cub he's caring for.

Smokey (Reborn) does something similar to Fruitie/Qi Energy when they first meet where he offers his hand to them to grab onto. Btw in the first photo, Fruitie is sucking on Smokey's finger like how a unweaned baby monkey do. Also lets appriciate Smokey instinctually catching the baby one-handed when he fell off his shoulder like a monkey parent do.

Strangely enough, Fruitie directly calls Smokey a "stone monkey" after hearing that he was born from a rock. Little guy is pretty smart, probably he knew about them in the past.

Most of my aus is the different Sun Wukongs getting overrun by a baby monkey.

Like, OSP's Wukong is far closer to the book characterisation, so the idea of romance or children hasn't really crossed his mind at all! And now he sees that a bunch of his "alternate selves" are in relationships and/or have kids?!

I want y'all to know that because I've been reading monkey science papers for SWK ideas, I have discovered that apparently macaques have beauty standards. And out of all the SWKs, Dasheng would be considered both hottest guy or girl cus he has the longest face and high cheekbones.
