sometimes, long after the battle is over, Obi-Wan lies in his bunk with his hands enclosed around the hilt of his lightsaber and pretends he can still feel the warmth of Cody's hand from the dutiful pass off of his 'saber. however indirect the touch, through gloves and several hours or days after the fact, it's like holding hands. he'll trace a fingertip down the side and ponder what it would be like if next time--not that this happens often enough for a "next time" to be inevitable, he lies to himself--on the return, their fingers brushed. it would be torture. it would be bliss. it would be a monumental task not to smile.

One of Fox’s worst traits is that he has no sense of pride or self-preservation. He’s willing to make an absolute mockery of himself so long as it will earn him success in whatever manner he defines it. That's what makes him so dangerous and also what makes him so annoying. The only way to win against Fox is to not fight in the first place.

So. Rex does the only thing he can do in the face of such adversity–He goes limp.

Fox adjusts his hold easily, without pausing his diatribe for a beat. He simply squats, throws Rex over his shoulder, and walks onward. “You sure you’re eating all your ration bars, ve’vut’shebs? If Cody is starving you, you can tell me. I’ll knock him on his ass for you.

“You fucking suck.” Rex says, crossing his arms. He doesn’t bother fighting back physically as he takes comfort in pulling Fox down to his level.

Fox snorts and pats Rex’s back with his free hand, clearly taking the comment as innuendo. “Not as much as I used to.”

One of my favourite parts of the SotO expac has been learning more of the absolute nonsense that happens in the mists.

Unless I'm misremembering, the Kryptis hewed their world wholecloth out of the mists. Which is how it's so easy for them to go from their world to nearby others and why "just everyday commander things" like punching a hole out of the underworld (using what in retrospect is probably a kryptis gorged on the emotions of ghosts in the underworld) sent ripples that were felt in Nayos but not in Tyria.

Their world doesn't really have a hard edge, it just fades back into the mists at its edges.

I actually so so love the trope where a character is so in love with a woman who they cannot be with that they feel a parental connection to her child by someone else, oftentimes a child they’ve never even met

I find it delightful both when the man is generally allied with the child like Hook and Baelfire in OUAT, but also when that relationship inexplicably makes them enemies, like Vlad and Danny in Danny Phantom
