what is your favourite clois scene?
I honestly love all their interactions so much that I couldn't even decide on my top five, so I'll just talk about their opening scene in booster because I keep thinking about it and it really captures one of the main reasons I love them so much.
So they're both in transitional periods of their lives, with Clark trying to create a new persona for himself and Lois working towards a promotion, and they're just so... invested and supportive about it?? Lois is helping Clark with his body language and reassures him because he's feeling insecure but then he's like "forget about ME Lois you're up for that promotion!!!" and you can see on his face how proud and excited about it he is like, he's really her biggest cheerleader and I'm😭😭😭
They're best friends and they're in love and above all else they just genuinely want to see each other thrive and be happy and grow into the best versions of themselves and it makes me want to collapse on the floor in tears.

hi lovely I was wondering if you could do a fic about a touch starved reader where she’s just really needy and wants to be held but is nervous to ask? and it’s just very fluffy and sweet, thank you so much!!
Hi sweetheart, thanks for requesting!
modern au
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1.3k words
Sirius is cozied up between James’ legs on the couch, tuned into his phone while James watches the football match on TV, and you’re oozing a jealousy so tender it hurts.
It’s silly, but you can’t help thinking about how warm they must both be. James has one of his forearms draped over Sirius’ chest, their hands linked casually, Sirius’ bony, pale fingers intertwined with James’ thicker ones. They look comfortable and at ease with each other in a way that feels so out of reach. You wish you could join them, but they look too happy like this. You couldn’t ask them to move.
“Dove?”
You blink, focussing back on Remus. “Sorry?”
“I asked how your meeting went.” A bit of concern digs into the space between his brows as he continues stirring the pot of soup on the stove. You give him a little smile, and it melts away.
“Oh, not bad at all.” Today you had your first team meeting at your new job. You’d been nervous leading up to it, worried your boss would ask you to introduce yourself or present something, but it had blown over smoothly. “I was stressed for nothing, I didn’t even have to talk.”
“Mm, good for you.” Your boyfriend gives you a knowing look, well aware that your shyness can sometimes get in the way of you sharing your ideas. “I’m glad it went well. I hope you start to feel comfortable enough to talk soon, though.”
“Maybe,” you say agreeably, moving closer to him to rest the side of your head on his bicep. It’s an awkward sort of lean, but the most you’ll allow yourself.
You can sense Remus’ confusion even without him making a sound. You know that if you pulled back to look, you’d find a familiar little indent just above his nose. “Tired?” he asks.
Your heart gives a pitiful throb. Remus isn’t the most tactile of your boyfriends, but it would take so little for him to reach up with his free hand, wrap it around your shoulders. That’s all you want. “No,” you reply, though you do sound tired, voice soft and breathy, “just love you.”
“Sweetheart.” His voice is sticky with affection, and your heart balloons with hope. You feel his arm shift underneath you, then his hand comes up to hold your cheek, keeping you steady while Remus presses a brief kiss to the top of your head. The hand falls away. “I love you too.”
It feels ungrateful and a bit traitorous to feel so dejected after hearing those words, but you do. You leave your head where it is, heavy with a loneliness that’s completely invalid, while Remus continues stirring the soup, humming now.
“Look at them.” Sirius’ voice gets your attention from the living room, dripping with faux rancor. He’s glowering at you over the top of the couch. James begrudgingly turns from the match to look at him, half curious what he’s on about. “They’re being all ooey gooey in the kitchen without us, can you believe it?”
You sort of want to laugh at the irony.
“You were given the opportunity to join,” Remus reminds him mildly. “I said I needed help chopping, and only y/n came to my aid.”
“Yes, well I didn’t know there’d be declarations of love involved,” says Sirius, never one to be made to feel guilty.
James, on the other hand, looks a tad penitent.
“I didn’t hear you,” he says helplessly, climbing out from under Sirius. “Do you still need an extra pair of hands?”
“No, almost done now,” Remus says, but James comes anyway. He peers over Remus’ other shoulder, pecking him apologetically on the cheek.
“Smells great,” he notes appreciatively. He leans across Remus to see your face, grinning in that way of his that makes it seem like someone’s brought the sun inside. “Thanks for taking up the mantle.”
You make a quiet sound of amusement, and James’ smile fades. You hate yourself for doing it to him, even though it wasn’t intentional.
“You alright, lovie?” He scrutinizes your expression, and you’re reminded that James is often more perceptive than you give him credit for. “You look a bit sad.”
“No, I’m good.” You give him a smile. Remus’ shoulder shifts under your head as he looks down, trying to see you.
James appears unconvinced. He moves behind Remus, over to where you stand. “Hug?” he offers.
God, you feel like you could cry. That wouldn’t be good. “Sure,” you say as if it isn’t the deepest, most desperate desire of your heart.
You turn into his arms, and he wastes no time in enveloping you. James gives the best hugs. Somehow, intuitively, he always knows just the amount of pressure you need, when to squeeze your back and when to rub it, exactly the right time to let go. It feels like he’s pouring love into you through his touch. He sets his chin on top of your head, and you swallow a happy sigh.
“I know something’s bothering you,” he says quietly. He sweeps a hand up and down your spine, and you shiver, pressing your palms into his back. He does it again. “Talk to me, honey.”
“I’m good,” you promise him. It’s a lot more truthful now.
Still, you can feel James’ dissatisfaction. He cups the back of your neck, thumb brushing the baby hairs at your nape. “Anything I can do?”
You clutch him to you, the fabric of his sweatshirt bunching in your hands. It smells like laundry detergent. “Just this, please.”
“Aww,” Sirius croons, and it’s not until then that you realize the other two boys have been silent. Probably worried about you. You feel instantly sheepish. “I get it. You just wanted some love, didn’t you babydoll?” You look at him over James' shoulder, and predictably, he’s insufferably smug. He sees you watching and pats the top of the couch invitingly. “Come here, sweet thing, let me fix you up.”
“I think I’m doing just fine,” James teases, but his grip loosens, one hand remaining on the small of your back as he walks you over to the couch.
“Yeah, but we can share.” Sirius rolls his eyes. He grabs for you the second you’re close enough, hauling you up against him while James flops down on your other side. “What game are you playing, standing over there and looking all forlorn?” he asks you, peppering your cheek with kisses. A startled giggle spurts out of you, but he remains completely serious. “If you wanted a cuddle, all you had to do was ask.”
“It seemed dramatic,” you admit, though now that Sirius has got your face squished in his hand and James’ arm is draped around your shoulder, your silence feels a bit dramatic too. “And kind of needy.”
“Babe.” Sirius is heartbroken, pulling back to give you a horrified look. “Being needy is my thing. I hardly think asking for a hug could challenge my hard-earned reputation.”
“You’re not needy,” you say warmly, but Sirius only rolls his eyes as if you’re being difficult.
“Anyway, wanting a hug is hardly needy,” James chimes in. “I’m always happy to give you one.”
“Same here,” Remus says from the kitchen, sounding a bit apologetic. “Though I wish you would have asked, dove. I can’t read minds like Jamie can.”
Your chest tightens guiltily. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be,” he says easily. “Listen, dinner’s almost done, but want to put on a film to watch while we eat? I could make it up to you with a cuddle.”
“That sounds great,” you reply thankfully, and James grabs the remote to begin going through the movies while Sirius gets comfy against the side of the couch. He lifts your legs to drape them over his.
“Good luck getting you away from me,” he murmurs conspiratorially. James chuckles, arm a welcome weight around your shoulders. “I’m not giving you up.”
It seems like there was room for you after all.

Something the October 11th entry really highlights is how much Mina and Jonathan are sure about each other. How much they know each other to the point they can read each other without any perceived difficulty, and how their devotion, their partnership, although treasured and seamlessly reciprocated by both, is never even questioned by them.
When Mina receives news that Jonathan is alive, she goes, an unmarried and unaccompanied woman, all the way to find him and marry him, even tho he’s still traumatised, half mad from his stay at Castle Dracula, and in the eyes of society could very much be considered an “invalid”. But she marries him anyway, and although Jonathan does gently reaffirm the delicate state of his body and specially his mind, he never really seems overly surprised that she chose him despite it all. And in the same entry we see a similar reaction from Mina when Sister Agatha feels the need to inform her that she shouldn’t worry that Jonathan’s malady might be because of some other woman; she all but scoffs at the idea, because it hadn’t even crossed her mind. Of course there isn’t another woman. Similarly, as she eventually makes acquaintance with several men, all of them rich bachelors who grow a quick and openly affectionate bond with her, Jonathan has not a single moment of insecurity about it. Of course they all love Mina, why wouldn’t they? Jealousy requires a certain lack of confidence in your partner that neither of them has. Their worries concerning each other are always ALWAYS directed at external influences: That something will hurt them, or that something will keep them from each other.
Which brings us to October 11th, when that sureness is brought to it’s highest, most tragic peak. Jonathan knew what Mina intended calling them all to meet her before their trip. He was so sure of it he spoke with Jack beforehand to make sure it would all be documented correctly, as he himself would never be able to write down such a thing as a symbolic funeral for his beloved. And he also knew what she would make them promise to do.
Because Mina, beyond just wishing to have the littlest bit of agency over her own death, is being strategic here. She knows Jonathan will “be with her to the very end”. She does not need to know of the promise he made to her in the solitude of his diary. Their devotion to each other is a given, one they do not take for granted, but that they expect nonetheless because they know each other and the strength of their love. Had she read the promise, she would undoubtedly be shocked by it, specifically by the utter heresy of it, devout as she is to her faith. But she would not be surprised, and this entry shows her anticipating what the Worst Case Scenario could potentially do to her husband, and trying to avoid it at all cost.
No, I don’t think she gone as far as assuming that Jonathan would deliberately choose vampirism for her. He has been as much of a devout christian as her for most of their lives, and tho she is not blind to the changes the last few months (and specially the last few days) have caused on him, she would not there suggest the Holiest Love conclusion is anywhere close to his mind. For after all, she has explicitly stated that she wants to be received by the grace of God, wants the same freedom granted by the boys to the soul of dear Lucy, and Jonathan simply wouldn’t deny her that.
Right?
And guys, as much as I love Jonathan’s vow and how he absolutely refuses to let her “walk into that unknown and terrible land alone”… it is a selfish vow. Romantic to the core, but selfish. Jonathan knows that’s not what Mina wants. He phrases it in a way that makes it seem like he is doing it purely out of love for her, so she’ll not be alone, but really, the selfless thing would be to do what she asked of him today. Her soul would be free, there would be no more Dracula to torment the world and kill innocents, and when Jonathan’s time came, he would join her in heaven.
But as I said before, the only thing that ever worries them about their relationship is whether or not they are hurt and when there is something keeping them apart. Jonathan goes to Transylvania and Dracula tries to keep him there: they both suffer from the distance. The first time Jonathan went to meet a client was the first time he and Mina were away from each other since the wedding, and she expresses anxiety about that. The men want to keep Mina away from vampire business to “protect her”: both her and Jonathan are unhappy with suddenly keeping secrets from each other. “A door is locked between them” because there is a part of Dracula inside Mina’s mind and she cannot be trusted to know all their planning, and Jonathan is crestfallen about it. Their deepest source of misery is always not being with each other, not being able to communicate properly, not just be together. And they both know that. Mina is just severely underestimating how far Jonathan would go so they’re not separated. As it is, she knows her death would bring him terrible grief, and by asking the help of their friends today and making him read the burial service, she’s trying to both a) Guarantee that should Jonathan’s hand falter, more steady ones would fulfil her wish; b) Unite them once more in the care they all have for her and show Jonathan that, should the worst happen, he won’t be alone. The other will be there. He shall not be so lonely if/when he becomes a widower; c) Perhaps by reading the burial service he can become more used to the possibility of her death and ease his heart to the matter.
However, Jonathan promises nothing to anyone. He asked for Jack to make an accurate description of what happened so that no detail would be left out, and yet we hear no word of confirmation from him.
And I’m sure she noticed it, too.

Thoughts on Geto Suguru's Psychology Pre-Defection
There's something that I've been meaning to talk about for a while now, and that is Geto's apparent tendency to conceal his negative impulses that allows for, in my view, faulty interpretations stating that he was faking his righteous beliefs all along just because assuming high moral ground gave him a sense of superiority and fed his ego. Meanwhile I would argue that, on contrary, this habit is more indicative of Geto's insecurities and heightened sense of self-awareness.
Tumblr media
My thoughts on this underneath the cut, but beware: it's going to be long!
To begin with, I think there are two major factors playing into the misconception that I mentioned. The first one boils down to prejudice forcing people to look upon younger Geto through the lense of a person he would go on to become. The kind of cautious logic that says that a deeply empathetic, caring highschooler couldn't have turned into a murderous cult leader preaching the merits of genocide, and thus seeks ways to dehumanize him from the very beginning (because that's a terrible concept to wrap your mind around, I agree). And the second factor being... well, that Suguru's behaviour really does come off as fake at times.
We experience 'negative' emotions as naturally as 'positive' ones, and despite some of them are conventionally accepted as 'good' whereas others are painted as 'bad', no emotion is inherently harmful or invalid; they all are a part of what makes us human. While it's undoubtedly a chilly and ominous concept for someone to be completely devoid of any positive traits, just as unnatural it is to display positive responses only. Perfection is stored away at museums, no living breathing human being can go through their life without being affected by negative impulses or thinking. But more often than not negative emotions are condemned and stigmatized (in the end, we still refer to them as 'negative'), and self-consciousness can make one ashamed or guilty of experiencing them. The end result of this would be trying to hide your feelings under one more appealing appearance, creating a warp between what's intuitive and what's manifest, an inadequate emotional response.
Gojo (at least in his teenage years) is widely outspoken and doesn't hesitate to outwardly express himself, whether verbally or via body language. It probably takes root in Gojo's upbringing: he was spoilt rotten, revered for being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, his every whim indulged and tended to. There simply wasn't any need for him to try and make a good impression by faking docility and emotions that are more pleasant and easier to digest. Gojo may be boisterous and bratty and obnoxious, but he isn't trying to 'trick' anyone into thinking he's better than he really is, and this paints a more sincere, believable picture to the audience.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, Geto's emotions, partly due to his more solemn demeanour, are often toned down or consciously concealed. For instance, when Riko manages to strike a nerve in him, his response is to immediately plaster on mawkish 'customer service' smile to not give away his annoyance. This scene is especially interesting to me because of how Amanai's reaction gives voice to the audience's concerns. Referring to Suguru, she says, 'You look like a liar!' -- and by doing so calls him out on his tendency to mask negative emotions. Intuitively, she can still read his feelings in his body language, in the delay in his expression rearranging itself into a smile, and so can the viewer. We know he's annoyed, and his words about having no intention to harm Riko don't exactly align with how he behaves (even if in a playful manner) a moment after saying them. It creates a tangible contradiction between what he says his intentions are and what his actions speak of, between the appearances and what lies behind them. And this contradiction raises suspicion, in a way that if somebody's making an effort to hide something, then there must be something to hide.
In retrospect this doubt might seem reinforced and justified. I see how it's easy to fall into thinking that Geto, having become a criminal who's done unspeakably cruel things and who backs up his delusional ideals with bigoted reasoning, should've been hiding darker parts of himself behind all those fake smiles and talks about righteousness. But pinning the blame on Geto alone by claiming that he had violent tendencies to begin with is essentially disregarding systematic issues that the story strives so much to convey to the audience. Holding innate individual qualities accountable for the catastrophe is basically the sort of thinking that the higher-ups display, whose main strategy for dealing with problems is public scapegoating and disposing of every single threat to the current order by giving out one death sentence after the other. I don't think we as the viewers are supposed to reach the conclusion that Suguru is at fault for what happened, which is not to say he's faultless, nonetheless the narrative goes to great lengths to make us sympathize with him, not the other way around.
Now, there's really a handful of ways in which Geto's character seems to contradict himself. He shares overspilling empathy for the people around him, that is his character's core trait, but that very empathy spells out his downfall when it degrades into resentment and hate. He displays a largely considerate and sympathetic demeanour, but he's first introduced to the audience as someone who backhandedly bad-mouths Utahime for being weak. He's one half of the strongest duo, but whereas Gojo is a natural-born genius, Geto evidently struggles with his powers. His entire career as a curse user is based on the mentality which justifies the means to an end, but reaching the end goal is impossible for him as he is, Geto himself as much as admits to it during his last conversation with Satoru. He sets on his wild-goose chase for power, but ends up stagnating to the point where his use of Curse Manipulation in the Hidden Inventory Arc is much more inventive and creative than in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The list goes on, but you got the gist.
To live for the purpose of being yourself. And for that goal, Geto could only continue to pursue his twisted dream, drowning himself in a curse that lies in the gap between ideal and reality.
I believe this to be such a poignant phrase when it comes to Geto's characterization because of how well, in my view, it encapsulates the conflict of his character -- or, if you will, the contradiction of it. It succinctly expresses his outlook on things, where he views the world how it's ideally supposed to be rather than how it realistically is. I've actually somewhat already elaborated on this in my very first rambling on here:
To me, Geto seems to be a type of person who needs something to guide him, some clear-cut ideal to make it possible for him to navigate through his life. He is pedantic in that sense: the sharp outlines of his views define his surroundings, the very way he looks at things and perceives them. He needs everything to fall precisely in line with his own set of ideals, which seems to be quite verified and well-adjusted within his mind, like a strict and refined concept he constructed for himself, like a routine he's used to following out of pure principal. His own belief system being so defined, it's that which makes him indulge in excessive discourse on the subject of morality and responsibility, like he's patiently laying out the basics in front of a disobedient child to help them wrap their mind around some fundamental truth that is so obvious and natural for him.
In a way, Geto concealing his negative emotions is not a false front put up against scrutinizing looks that could reveal his 'true nature'. Quite the opposite, I think it speaks more of his well-meaning intentions. When trying to change the way things are, start at yourself, and I guess this is the principle Geto's trying to apply here. By following through his own ideal, Geto does his best to be an upright person he believes himself obliged to be, whether that means forcing himself to absorb curses or putting on a customary smile. It might be juvenile and wishful thinking on his part, probably akin to 'fake it till you make it', but it's important to keep in mind that at that time he was still but a teenager. Moreover, he was put on par with somebody as praised within jujutsu society as Gojo, he must've felt on top of the world, too entranced by their warm spring of youth to care too much about the occasional slips. With Satoru by his side, I imagine Geto could afford to cut some slack and participate in the mischief. Later we see post-defection Geto drop his frivolous facade only when he's entirely alone -- another hint at how Gojo was really the only person Suguru allowed himself to confide in, that is untill the SPVI put uncrossable distance between them.
While I do say that Geto's intentions are well-meaning, the way he positions himself actually reveals some quite problematic aspects of his mindset. Namely, his attitude towards non-sorcerers, whom he clearly sets into a different category from himself and his fellow sorcerers. Regular people lack crucial understanding, they are weak because they are helpless, therefore they have to be shielded from the source of harm. This is a largely patronizing concept of empathy, since it's based on the notion that the 'weak' are inherently inferior to Geto himself and others involved in jujutsu society. It's interesting how it's reflected in Geto's insistence on the necessity of curtains. The use of curtains furthers the extent of non-sorcerers' ignorance, they never learn how to stay out of harm's way as they are deprived even of as much as their perception of the existing danger. It reminds me of how a parent would brush a child's concerns aside because they're too young and naive and do not need to be aware of adult life's hardships. Just like Geto's paternalistic outlook, it does not come from malice or negligence, it's just an attempt to keep someone less experienced and skilled safe. Nonetheless it's harmful as it puts that person in a position which denies them agency.
Tumblr media
In my view, Suguru's fake smiles are an extension of his acute sense of responsibility. In front of those over whom he assumes responsibility, he presents himself as calm, collected and dependable as if it's supposed to reassure them. It's his job to protect them and make them feel safe, so there's no need showing them his own struggle. Even if such thinking is condescending, it's not in any way malicious. Geto's entire character arc would be simply non-existent if he wasn't completely genuine in his sentiments.
So why do I talk about Geto's insecurities when first introducing the topic of this post? Well, I'm about to take a deep dive into the field of speculation and theories and finally get to the point why I'm writing all this in the first place (took me long enough, lmao). There's also a reason why I brought up Gojo's upbringing when talking about his personality and how it contrasts Geto's. You see, like Satoru's way of dealing with his emotions can be linked to his childhood experience, Suguru's behaviour might also give us some clues about the circumstances he grew up in.
The more I look into it, the more convinced I become that Geto was in one way or another exposed to emotional trauma in his childhood. Remember when I mentioned inadequate emotional responses? While being one, smiling in reaction to stress may act as a defense mechanism of sorts, shielding the person from the chronic nature of the unpleasant experience. It also may serve as a way to avoid alienation by others who are not privy to the source of your distress or are not comfortable with it. Affiliative smiles are motivated by social factors, it's a tool used to create and maintain social connections. Human beings are hardwired to connect with others, feeling alienated by the people around us causes us great pain.
The thing us, we must assume that Geto is relatively new to the jujutsu world in the flashback arc. Given his non-sorcerer background, chances are he was the only one in his immediate surroundings with the ability to see and exterminate curses. There couldn't have been a way for him to confide in someone with his concerns and fears born from interacting with something only he could see. So I assume that eventually that resulted in Suguru developing an unhealthy habit of masking his emotions before the ones he cared about. And as over time he grew more aware of his abilities and got a grasp on how his CT works, I imagine Geto committed to exorcising curses in order to protect ordinary people from them -- all by himself. This, in turn, must have solidified that conception in Suguru's head which ultimately othered him from the people around him and put them in a position inferior to him since they were the ones depending on him and his powers.
As Geto should've mostly kept to himself, I also see how he might have grown heavily reliant on his analytical mind. Overthinking is a habit developed early on in life as a way to wade through feeling uncertain or unsafe. It's an attempt to make sense of confusing reality by applying an analytical lense to it and compartmentalizing it into neat, easily understandable categories. And also a way to regain sense of self when you find yourself in a situation you otherwhise have little to no control over. And while over-analyzing can create a sense of security, it may also interfere with a person's emotional responses. I guess it's something that could be applied to Geto, too, because for such a self-reflective character he always struck me as someone with oddly little regard of his own feelings.
As a side note, I like how Geto's tendency to over-analyze things is shown in that one scene when Yaga's briefing him and Gojo on the upcoming mission. Suguru's clearly presented as someone who's very mindful of how the world around him works. Understanding helps him assign meaning to different aspects of life, and he relies upon it heavily. Also, as someone who's been uprooted from his former society and introduced instead to an entirely different world, I guess it's important for Geto to fit in. Him being highly knowledgeable about such essential details is, in my view, indicative of such effort on his part. Whereas Satoru simply does not care about such details, the reality makes sense to him as it is as he was born perfectly fit into it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least, Geto's infamously guilty of a dichotomous, or black-and-white, outlook on things. This is the all-or-nothing mentality that leaves little to no room for nuance and does not allow two opposite statements to be true at once. It's a common cognitive distortion that manifests immature thought; a rigid mindset more often than not bordering on extreme. Meanwhile the very foundation of Geto's downfall is the inability to adapt to the complicated reality which doesn't align perfectly with his idealistic vision. He ultimately failed to wrap his head around the world with grey areas, his black-and-white thinking thinking prevented him from doing so.
Tumblr media
The development of such maladaptive personality traits has been repeatedly linked to the effects of childhood trauma. If the environment which a person grew up in was traumatic and chaotic, black-and-white thinking might have given them a sense of control through rationalization. That's why a mentality which doesn't allow for nuance and doesn't reflect life in its intricate complexity comes off as childishly simplistic. Seeing the world in all-or-nothing terms in some way means reverting to your inner child. And this is actually something that Shoko accuses Geto of during their brief conversation in Shinjuku. In his thinking Geto doesn't grow past his traumatic experience, whether it was his parents actively abusing his abilities for their own gain or the ache of being alienated at such an early age.
Tumblr media
If the nature of Geto's relationship with his parents was abusive, it would also explain his altruism. Suguru goes out of his way to express his concern for well-being of those around him, and he does genuinely care, but all the while it could be a way for him to tend to his own unsatisfied needs by helping others. He seems to be highly attuned to others through his empathy, but also somewhat has trouble advocating for himself, resulting in harmful patterns of self-sacrifice or self-neglect.
It's true, there is a lot of contradictions housed within Geto's character, which are evident in his mindset and his actions. But I don't believe this to be due to sloppy writing, on contrary -- it's the kind of writing that speaks through detail and nuance and invites the reader to ponder why is this or that character the way they are.

Lore Olympus Episode 247 Spoilers
Mfw Persie demands an appointment with Chiron "asap", only to then be just late enough for Demeter to get anxious.
Yeah, no, this was an obvious power-play on Persie's part to make sure Demeter didn't feel secure enough to actually defend herself. Don't tell me this isn't something current Persie would do, she 100% would.
Lmao, RS panicked because literally everybody was pointing out that hxp weren't doing any parenting, despite saying they'd be better parents than Zeus and just shoved Dionysus into the episode as a gotcha.
"I'd like to start by asking you both what you hope to achieve with this session today?"
Demeter doesn't want to achieve anything, this was literally forced on her. She had no idea Persephone was doing this until the last second.
Persephone just wants to dunk on her mom some more without consequences.
"You trapped Hades in a jar!"
Oh fuck off, Persie, your smurf-boytoy wasn't even hurt. Honestly, compared to what Hades put Demeter through, locking him in a jar was extremely minor and justified. Hades had no right to intrude on Demeter's home when she only wanted to see her daughter without her groomer present.
"We're not here to point fingers."
Yeah, but Persie's gonna do it anyway and the narrative will back her up like it always does.
The way Demeter just calls hxp's asses out on being capitalist jackasses who profit from death and the spirits who can't do anything to stand up for themselves.
"[...] You haven't even seen what I do in the Underworld."
Persie, you haven't done shit in the Underworld. You delegated work to someone else, that's not the same as working.
I really appreciate what we got to learn about Demeter and Metis' relationship. Honestly, I wasn't expecting Metis to just flat-out tell Demeter that she was created solely to help defeat Kronos. But since this is the same woman who slept with a much younger man despite knowing two of her daughters had a crush on him, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised she was a shitty parent in other ways too.
I'd enjoy all of this Demeter-lore more if the episode didn't immediately twist it to invalidate all of her concerns about Persephone's development and hxp's relationship through invoking generational trauma in a really manipulative way.
So.... Daphne did tell everybody about Apollo? Or just about the tree-part? Does that mean Apollo's political career is over? Because I think the fact that he violently assaulted a nymph should put a damper on his popularity with the populace.
Artemis finally asks a question she should have asked in season 1. Better late than never I guess. And of course we cut off before anything of substance is achieved.
We haven't gone anywhere with the therapy-session and the whole Artemis and Apollo conversation just served as another cliffhanger.

If there was a waiting room in hell, it was overseen by Herbert Sobel. At least, that’s what Vivian had convinced herself over the span of three months under his orders. She hated to admit it, but Sobel had found a way to be harsher on her than the men of Easy, as if it was his life’s mission to prove just how wrong they had been to allow a woman into the Company. Between his constant reminders of her gender, of the balance that needed to be struck for her to continue a part of the paratroopers, of the way the men considered her nothing more than a distraction from their objectives. The only positive response from it all was the way the rest of the Company responded to his overt attempts to cut her down to size.
At first, there were nods of agreement, eye rolls, knowing looks and glances her way. It evolved then to averted eyes, bitten cheeks, sympathetic looks. After months of proving herself as good of a candidate as any of her male counterparts, she was noticing gritted teeth, clenched fists, and muttered resentments.
Similar to the ones that resounded around her as the Company busted their asses three miles up, three miles down. It was only on Currahee that Vivian ever found herself questioning if she would make it to Europe. She often joked with her companions about how they would have to ship her back home to her mother with a note about how she perished two and a half miles up a mountain in Georgia.
True to her suspicions, as Vivian pushed herself up the last leg of the incline, she felt a cramp begin in her calf. Cursing, she limped to the side of the trail, away from the group of men that surrounded her. Sweat dripped from her brow as she leaned forward, reaching for her toes to stretch through the pain. She wiped her forehead and cheeks with the back of her free hand, blowing the strands of hair from her face.
“You okay?” The gruff voice of one concerned Joe Toye only took her slightly by surprise. If anyone were going to stop, it was going to be Toye, who had found a way to show up just about anywhere when she needed any form of support (and even when she didn’t.)
“Cramp,” she nodded back to him, kneading into the back of her calf. “I’ll be alright.”
“Here,” Joe reached his canteen out towards her.
“I’ve got my own,” she reminded him, adjusting the strap of her canteen on her shoulder. “Besides, it’ll be a boring weekend for anyone who takes a sip without Sobel’s okay.”
Joe shrugged, “that’s why I offered mine.”
“Thanks,” she smiled softly, starting to feel the muscle tension relent. She alternated between flexing and pointing her foot, sighing with relief. “You shouldn’t let them get too far. He’ll have your ass.”
“Fuck ‘em,” Joe shrugged again. “I’ll tell him I was taking a piss.”
Vivian laughed, “and what was I doing?”
Joe felt heat rise in his cheeks as he recognized what this may look like to a Commander who was already working tirelessly to invalidate a woman’s place in the Company. He scratched the back of his head.
“I guess we should both get moving then,” he gestured to the rest of the company, starting to look smaller and smaller up ahead.
“Yep,” Vivian replied, limping herself into a quick walk, then up to a jog.
When they got up to the rest of the group, Vivian was able to slow her pace, thankful to give the burn in her lungs time to subside.
“Where’d ya go?” Luz asked Toye, looking over at Vivian who was working overtime now to keep pace with the soreness in her calf.
“Quickie in the woods?” Guarnere asked slyly, causing a few chuckles to resound.
“Yeah, don’t forget to give your mother my regards,” Joe spat back, causing Vivian to smirk. Joe winked back at her.

Spoilers for Derision [This is really just my take on the episode.]
.
.
.
I realized that the issue with Kim and why he didn’t see a problem with his actions is because of intent.
Example: Person A says something that ends up hurting Person B’s feelings. Since Person A didn’t intend for their remark to have that effect, there’s really no issue, despite how Person B feels. Person A just thinks that Person B is overreacting. This invalidates Person B’s feelings.
[I knew someone like this: he’d never see himself as doing/saying anything wrong because it wasn’t his intention to make me feel a certain way; meanwhile I’m trying to say that regardless of your intent, I still feel this way because of it. We’d go in circles and I would always end up so mad.]
Plenty of people unintentionally hurt other peoples’ feelings (and unintentionally cause akumas) but this instance stands out to me the most.
In Kim’s mind, he was just playing a prank; his intentions were to do something funny. By thinking otherwise, he sees it as people just aren’t getting the joke; that those people just need to lighten up. A prank isn’t a big deal so a person shouldn’t make a big deal out of it.
He also doesn’t ever seem to think before he acts/speaks. That’s nothing new. In Origins, Kim was shown to be immature and constantly pulled pranks on people (in Timebreaker they called them dares). He was the cause of the first akuma. The events in Derision happened a year before Origins so his [increased] immaturity makes sense.
I don’t really see his character being assassinated here since:
1) his terrible actions happened a year ago. It’s not the current him who did these actions...just the current him who didn’t understand what he actually ended up doing to Marinette in the long run.
2) he’s shown at the end to learn that, regardless of his intentions, his actions can have lasting effects. He obviously never gave it much thought, especially since Marinette was okay with him afterwards (since she repressed that specific memory relating to him).
His ability to learn and feel remorseful and apologetic makes me not hate him. I was disappointed in him though. He does, however, really need to make it up to Ondine for that one comment. She’s way more forgiving than me.
Also gonna add onto this one more thing concerning Marinette: why did this particular episode bring up this repressed memory when she has been shown at the pool before? I think it’s due to a few things.
1) In Mr. Pigeon 72, Marinette goes to the pool with Kagami to try and get her back together with Adrien. Her focus was on Kagami more so than the place they were in.
2) It wasn’t just the pool that brought up the memory. There were multiple factors other than the setting that matched the events of the memory. In both situations, she was going to the pool for a first date with a guy she liked. It felt like she was repeating a day without even realizing it; her body did though.
This turned out pretty long. I hope I was able to articulate my thoughts properly.

I love how most of the reactions of the fandom towards Stolas snapping back at Stella for this episode was mainly “LOL YES KING”, or “GOOD FOR HIM HE’S STANDING UP FOR HIMSELF”- “THIS IS SO FUNNY GET HER LOL”- mainly people just stroking his cock oh- I mean supporting him pissed me off because it just goes to show how the fandom and writers don’t give a damn about Octavia, or realize how serious her situation is.
Tumblr media
It also doesn’t help that the story’s pacing is lazily sloppy as well, the writers want you to feel bad for Octavia since Stolas is occupied and can’t take her to her special event, but at the same TIME want you to laugh at her parents bickering at eachother, even though the show itself introduced this concept in a depressing light back in Loo Loo Land. Again, it just goes to show that writers don’t really care enough about Octavia. How are you going to introduce a serious topic about divorce and parents arguing around a child who grew up with them and loves them, yet later play it all for laughs? This isn’t really the first time the show did this, they did the same at the end of episode 5, where Octavia was sitting with her parents at the dinner table, listening to music while Stella was just screaming about plotting to kill her husband and Stolas couldn’t hear because plot. The show really just contradicts itself, I said it once and I’ll say it again, Octavia is done so dirty. The writers try to act like they care about her and how she’s upset with all the trauma she’s endured living a toxic household, but not only do they invalidate her feelings and push it to the side so we can have more Stolitz content and “funny” Stella and Stolas scenes, but Viv is SO afraid to fully call out Stolas on his actions. She can’t even fully make him a flawed character without excusing him, pulling the “he’s trying” card in the recent episode, even though Stolas has done the bare minimum as a father from what we’ve SEEN, emphasis on SEEN not HEARD. It’s all bullshit, but let me get back to what I said in the beginning.
For starters, I really don’t understand why fans are patting Stolas on the back in this scene for simply bickering back at Stella, because this isn’t the right moment nor the situation to be doing that. Octavia woke up happy and excited because it was a day that her father promised to take her to, to see this meteor shower. She then goes out and sees that Stolas is busy with packing Stella’s things out of the house, (which btw, doesn’t make any sense because Stolas established in episode 7 that Octavia would “visit her mother” on certain weekends implying that Stella already had her own place but then again I doubt the crew rereads their scripts) but yeah Octavia rightfully so gets worried and upset, asking Stolas if this will be done before he can still take her. Stolas then practically brushes her concern off, and continues to bicker with Stella, this scene once again painting ONLY HER as the one in the wrong, which is another thing that pisses me off because I wish Viv would stop painting this relationship as one sided. Anyway, we see Stolas irritated, shooting back at Stella, which the fans were happy to see, expect this isn’t the moment to cheer?? First of all, all Stolas is doing is being petty back, he’s not acting professional at all, acting like a child as well. If he would have said something like “I’m not taking your abuse any longer, and don’t you dare treat Via the same way or endorse her to this”- THEN I’d understand, but he’s just selfishly slashing back at his wife while his daughter is RIGHT THERE, the same daughter that clearly expressed to him how upset she is about her parents fighting. Like the fans are really saying “I’m so happy for Stolas” while Octavia is right there, endorsing something that isn’t healthy, and yet the show wants you to laugh here. Like the writers really don’t give a shit about Octavia, (saying she should just acknowledge that her father is “trying” when she had every right to be pissed) nor do the fans. They all just care about fucking Stolas, a character that hadn’t done anything to deserve sympathy. Saying he cares about Octavia is the bare minimum, he needs to actually change and put her before his dick, and thanks to the shows awful storytelling, we haven’t seen any of him trying for his daughter, except Loo Loo Land, which is a bad (and the only) example.
The sad thing is that…don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the lesson of “This character isn’t perfect, they’ll make mistakes and you need to acknowledge that” because in general it is a good lesson for people to learn, however it just doesn’t fit in this scenario, nor for a character such as Stolas. He’s still a horrible dad and I stand by that. It doesn’t matter if he genuinely loves her and is more kind to her compared to Stella, that doesn’t excuse any of his actions, and saying “he’s trying” doesn’t cut it because he’s really not. If he were, he would have talked to her about what he’s going through, or Stella and the divorce, and would have just…BEEN there for her. Instead he’s mostly emotionally neglectful, and never thinking about how she might feel. I’m honestly just…done with the fandom and the writers sucking him off all the time just because he’s in a sad uwu marriage. He’s just an awful character and Octavia deserves better in every way.

since lucas was kinda hinted as bi, do you think byclair has a real chance in canon? what'd be your reaction if they went with byclair instead of byler after not developing lucas and will's bond that much for 4 seasons?
Hi, anon!!! First of all, thank you for the ask!
I really do think they are hinting at Lucas being bi, which makes me so very happy.
As for Byclair, I low-key ship it! They have a warm relationship and you can tell they both value and care about each other.
I especially love how Lucas is shown to be willing to take matters into his own hands where Will is concerned (S1 where he was determined to stop what he believed was the Party wasting time when they could be looking for Will the practical way, S3 where he went out of his way to talk to Will when they were alone and attempt to apologize for his AND Mike's bad behavior).
And the way he was so much like Jonathan when he was trying to bring Mike back to the (supposed) reality that Will was dead, even though there were tears in his eyes and you could tell it was breaking his heart to even acknowledge it out loud.
The way he says "then what was that in the water?" breaks my heart because you can hear and see his anguish....it's not that he doesn't want to believe Will is alive, but he's so hesitant to entertain foolish hopes and get heartbroken all over again.
That's the difference between Mike and Lucas' feelings to me. Lucas will do his best to move on without Will, but Mike's world literally shuts down without him. Time stops. A piece of him dies when Will is gone.
Of course, if they made it clear in S5 that Will was happiest with Lucas and their love was mutual and strong, I would be.*almost* content with a Byclair endgame.
Butttttttt......(and there is a big but here).......I think it would invalidate all the Byler buildup throughout the seasons.
It's been shown time and again that Mike is the one Will wants, and it doesn't look like he'll be getting over him anytime soon. And frankly, when I look back at all seasons of ST, I have trouble believing Mike could ever get over Will.
Besides that, even though Max is in a coma, she is still the one Lucas loves the most.
Honestly, the only way I could see a Byclair endgame is if Mike and Max both died and Lucas and Will found healing in each other.
That would be a very bittersweet ending, and while it would be nice to see Byclair sharing some tender moments, it would fall a bit flat to me knowing that all the crazy together, blue meets yellow in the west, paladin and cleric, etc was for nothing.
So to answer your question, I think a Byclair endgame would leave me feeling a little lost, like if this was somehow the twist ending they wanted us to see coming, why did they leave all the breadcrumbs leading to Byler? I wouldn't hate it, but I'd think less of the sbow's writing.
Slightly spicy headcanon to end this post: I could almost see Bywheelclair having a poly arrangement somewhere down the line where bi Lucas occasionally joins them for date night LMAO he's the only person I think Mike and Will would agree to share each other with, because c'mon, it's Lucas 😹 and bi Max would be cool with it because she and El would just have a date night of their own (Elumax canon)

Tbh I feel like everything could have been fine if there was a little bit more care into it I'm not French and I don't much about the revolution so i can't say anything about the it but I'm black so I can empathize with Annette a little more I think the Idea behind her is interesting.
Oh boyyyyyyyy okay I finished watching the show so now I can rant.
We pretty much agree. The idea behind Annette is not the problem I have with her (well, except for the fact that they felt the need to give her powers when it would've been much more meaningful and impactful to me if she hadn't had any). The problem is the show uses her to emphasize how much SLAVERY IS BAD AND EVIL (as if we don't already know that) but to the point of straight-up insulting everyone else.
First off, there's this dialogue from Annette, talking to Richter and Maria: "You're not cowards. You're just children with no experience of the world. No experience of the hard choices adults have to make." Basically, Annette is saying she knows more than them because SHE SUFFERED MORE. Maria and Richter don't know pain! They were never slaves! And everyone knows only black people and slaves knows what the world is REALLY LIKE and what TRUE PAIN IS. It infuriated me so much, and it was only the beginning.
When Richter ran away from Olrox (because that's the vampire who killed his mother in front of him and traumatised him as a CHILD, Tera told her that, his panic attack was understandable), Annette had a whole monologue about how being a slave is terrifying, about how they know the cost of freedom, about how she wouldn't run away (even though she literally ran away from her ex-owner). Later on, she will say about Richter that he was "useless as fuck". I get it, she's mad, but the fact she had to make it about her and her problems like Richter did not have as much as her is still a bitch move.
In another scene, she uses magic to talk to her teacher, and at first, it was fine. When Annette complained that Richter ran away, the woman gave her a piece of her own medicine by telling her "Everyone starts by running away, Annette.", hintingat her running away from her slave owner, and Annette goes "It's completely different, how can you even compare that!" even though SHE is the one who compared her story to Richter's to begin with to invalidate his feelings and make him look like a jerk. But then, the teacher says:
"Even these french with their high ideas, what do they know about we've suffered? And what do they care? They're building new world, but it won't be freedom, or equality or brotherhood for US"
I will talk about this more in details in another post, because the problem I have with it don't concern Annette directly. I just wanna say that there is big problems with this and that Annette did not contradict her, she did not try to say she was wrong, she took it as the truth. And that bothers me. In a earlier scene, in episode 3, the teacher also shat on the french revolution and "the whites" because it would not help THEM, so I should've expected it, really. Also Annette, just like everyone else at that moment, applauded this woman.
In the end it's a matter of the show drilling into our heads that Annette is so oppressed and SLAVERY BAD left and right that made me dislike her (that and the bitchy attitude she sometimes has for no reason). The writers does not know how to handle such a heavy topic and it shows (especially a heavy topic from another country :)). You know you fucked up when you can't talk about X people suffering without shitting on the suffering of others.
I don't know about her religion so I can't tell wich problems there is, if any, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers messed that up too.
Good for you and everyone else who likes her, for any reason. You do you. I personnally can't stand her. She's not all bad (she was fine during the first episodes), but the show ruined her for me, I'm afraid. :/ I just can't look at her without thinking that the writers used her as a tool to defend that black people suffered more than anyone else (and it infuriates me even more when I remember that she used to be a white woman who's only crime was that she couldn't fight. i really wish everyone would stop turn the "weak" women into girlbosses who fights and make them actually strong in ways other than physical. and the fact they made her black just so they could tackle racism and slavery leaves a sour taste in my mouth). And shit a bit on the french revolution while they were at it. So yeah, just like you said. Could have been fine with a little bit more care put into it.

I think there is an element of....layla being afraid of labels. Layla shying away from labeling her and Jordan. Layla being okay with them bouncing between all the places because they're basically living together without it being official. It's an element of her feeling like she gets the best of both worlds. She gets what she truly wants while still protecting herself. Jordan moves quickly and feels intensely and in many ways, that helps her loosen up and feel things herself. She's able to talk to him about what she's thinking and feeling and she does trust that to be safe, but sometimes she can also invalidate his feelings because she's more grounded and down to earth and it's just Jordan going on one of his wild rides. He's worried about things that are so far in the future (being dramatic) and she has real concerns right now (patience, her lounge, her label).
There isn't a part of Layla that doesn't want that life with him, but she's not necessarily ready for it. She's still very young, and she's focused on making a name for herself in business. She wants to be with him for the rest of her life, but she's scared of what it means to fully give in to that. She is still learning how to trust, and her entire relationship with Jordan thus far has taken place during a really good time for her mental health. She's starting to slip, and she needs to learn how to navigate that while in a relationship. She broke it off with spencer, she didn't want anything serious with clay, and now she's shying away with Jordan. I do believe she'll get there and will learn how to navigate and rely on him and also encourage his own romantic tendencies, she just feels suffocated by them currently because 2 years feels like such a long time.

in defense of Unity (my favorite hive mind not the shitty game engine company)
so a lot of people are a little bothered by how pushy Unity was, and that's absolutely valid. However I saw it a bit differently. I think it takes a LOT for someone to be concerned for Rick's very life, given that he is in the business of putting it in danger regularly.
Unity knows Rick. Like *knows* knows him. Thus, she knows he "almost dies" as a hobby. So what's different about him going after Prime Rick? Why was it so urgent?
Now this is pure speculation on my part, but I'm guessing that Prime didn't almost kill him. Given how badly broken up he was over the mere breakup with Unity itself, I can imagine the quest to find Prime drove him mad enough to do some crazy shit; be it by hopelessness or recklessness. In any case, Unity knows that since he isn't picking up, this guy it has a lot of history with may very well be dead. What better way to get a response than create a situation where he's guaranteed to show up? Especially considering he "almost died" right after their previous meeting and all Unity seems to have heard since is hearsay, it kinda has reason to be afraid. It likely went months without news (or however long in spacetime they waited).
If Unity, the flame of a man whose whole schtick is cheating death, is concerned that he might be dead, it's real concern. I don't judge any other interpretation but personally I can forgive Unity for this one. If a close friend of mine was like "stay TF away from my house" I'd also respect that until he was rumoured to be doing historically self-destructive shit.
Yes Unity broke a boundary, but the episode showed us that that Rick was learning to enforce those in a healthy way. It's a realistic plot point for them; people break boundaries a lot in real life sadly and it's important that mending them is shown even if there's not complete forgiveness on either side right away. Rick is right when he says "I NEED BOUNDARIES," but screaming at his granddaughter and stonewalling someone with genuine intentions aren't gonna help him feel confident those.
Wong shouldn't have been invalidating about it but her assertiveness is the way she gets to Rick; it's comedic even though obviously IRL therapists who play devil's advocate are the actual devil. Rick is, with all my love and care and respect to the blorbo, Actually the Devil as well, so Strip Mall Therapist clicks. Wong seems to understand Rick.
Rick had his reasons but still, a singular response and Unity would not have gone to Virginia at all. Unity's action was not justified yeah but it was proportional to the situation from its pov. Rick is reckless, he doesn't give a *fuck*, or so he'd have everyone believe. Wong is poignant enough to make him see that the act isn't worth it, and in turn helps Rick reconsider his avoidant behavior.
The "huge problem" was less Rick's ghosting (spite is not healthy in large amounts but like I Get It) and more the president's fault imo but Rick maybe should have let Unity know he wasn't dead. Had he calmed down and talked it out immediately when he got to Virginia it would have been a much easier release for them both, which is what I think Wong meant.
I am really happy with the last couple episodes tbh they've brought a lotta levity to the show while keeping the dark undertones and setting up themes for the rest of the season. So glad to have Unity back in the show, their relationship with C-137 is so interesting to me.

in no particular order:
GAY COLIN GAY COLIN GAY COLIN
i mean we KNEW, but it's different to actually see it on screen. he doesn't seem to be out yet (for the love of god, trent, do NOT fuck things up), but still comfortable with his sexuality, which is great to see
also butt! you won't see me complaining about that
everyone falling in love with zava except jamie and rebecca is just *chef's kiss*
jamie because he used to be somewhat like zava, rebecca because she's disillusioned by footballers and he's making her look bad
jamie's locker being moved without his knowledge???
HEY COULD WE STOP HAVING THE COACHES COMPLETELY DISMISS JAMIE'S EXTREMELY VALID CONCERNS EVERY TIME HE ASKS FOR HELP THX
what a flex but also unnecessary and it had better not be reason for the delay in filming to show not only that they filmed in/at multiple real stadiums, but doing it in a montage, so you just see flashes of it
rebecca's visit with the psychic, that will definitely come back into play. either they'll do some kind of adoption storyline or have it more broad, where she's the team mom kind of thing, that she has a found family
sam and the chef 👀👀👀
roy being upset that keeley didn't notice him in the hallway, ugh, get over yourself my dude, she's WORKING and you are not the center of the universe
"oh, and i weren't being ironic, i were being hypocritical" beard's brain BROKE
henry picking jamie's number for his soccer jersey 😭
WHY IS MICHELLE DATING THEIR FORMER THERAPIST, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
fandom already demonizes her enough, why add that, WHY
ted's (almost) panic attack yet again being triggered by jamie, can we please get elaboration on that
(i mean obviously the michelle and jake and jake-being-able-to-do-fatherly-things-the-way-ted-can't contributed to it, just like his other panic attacks have had multiple contributing factors, but the hand shaking and stuff didn't start until after zava started talking to jamie, so)
ted complaining about jake saying their session is done then sharon being like, ".......our session is done, ted" and hanging up lmao i love her
ted's drinking focused on again 😬
the restaurant scene!!! so wholesome!!! i love it so much
dani's friendship bracelets!!! please don't let zava break his heart :(
jamie's earrings??? god bless me, everyone
i need to know nate's feelings on all of this, i NEED it
the jamie/keeley hug was not in this episode so i have at least another week to write my fic without it being invalidated by canon
SO many threads this episode!! i am very interested to see where this chaos goes next

if you're still taking the kiss prompts may I request #30 with vaxleth in mfl? possibly weak because keyleth is in the midst of one of her rougher patches during pregnancy?
30. Weak, sweaty kisses because it’s unbearably hot. read these first.
turned my water into wine #22
It is spring, but the air is sticky and hot—or perhaps that is just Keyleth. Her skin is slick with sweat, her nightgown soaked through, and no matter how many times she blows small puffs of air onto her own face with her hands, she cannot cool down.
Vax's fretful hovering isn't helping matters. He flutters about, bouncing around the cottage, a hummingbird in constant motion. He brings her water and applies cool rags to her forehead and checks her pulse, and all of the movement only makes the air warmer. Her nerves are starting to fray, a worn-out rope too taut for too long, but she bites her tongue. She knows how he worries, knows that his fears are not invalid.
Her belly is large now, round and hard, and as much as Keyleth loves to run her hand over it, to lean down and whisper to the child she cannot wait to meet, she's too exhausted from the heat to do so. She's too exhausted to do anything, which serves to add boredom to her growing list of concerns, but Vax is starting to fray at the edges himself, and what they both need is a break.
As Vax comes over to fluff the pillows she's resting against for the umpteenth time, he asks, "Do you need anything? Should I call Nel, just in case?"
"You should give me some space," Keyleth finally snaps, and she winces as she sees the hurt flash in his eyes.
He straightens, and she's just about to apologize when he plasters on a too-bright smile. "Of course, my love."
And now in addition to feeling sweltering, Keyleth feels so devastatingly guilty. Tears prickle to her eyes. "Vax, no, I only mean—"
She's interrupted by a sharp rap on the door to the cottage, which immediately opens without a pause for a response. Vex's familiar head pokes in, her braid hanging low. Staring through the open door to their bedroom, she calls, "Hello, all—dear gods, you two look miserable."
And Keyleth knows she's telling the truth. Vax is curled in on himself, and Keyleth must by now resemble a puddle of melted snow more than a person. Vex enters, closes the door, and comes to lean against the doorframe of the bedroom. "What's the matter?"
"Nothing," they both say too quickly, judging by the quirk in Vex's eyebrow.
Vex clicks her tongue and points to her brother. "You. Out."
"Vex'ahlia—"
"You're hovering. I can tell by..." She gestures vaguely toward the both of them. "...that you're hovering. Go outside and leave her to rest."
Vax looks hesitantly back down at Keyleth, who reaches up to take his hand in hers. She hates how weak her fingers feel in his. "Just for a bit? I just...it's so hot..."
Finally, Vax's smile reaches his eyes. He leans down to kiss her, and she knows it must by so sweaty and terrible. "Of course," he murmurs against her lips. He straightens, squeezes her hand, and then drops down to the mattress, following his sister back into the common area of the cottage.
"I'll keep him busy for an hour or two," Vex calls as they leave. "Sleep well, princess!" And then the door is closed, and Keyleth is blissfully alone, and though the heat still claws at her like fog rolling in off the sea, she thinks that maybe she'll be able to get some rest.

I saw people venting and if your in the mental state for it, I really need some comfort... I'll be referring to myself as Bug
Recently, I had a doctor's appointment with my psychiatrist, let's call her T. I let Someone in sys bring up to T that I had headmates, a total of 46-ish other people who could front as they pleased. He said "I'm not Bug, I'm not the same person you talk to, there are about 46 of us."
She said, to his face (HUGE tw right here) "Your hallucinating. They aren't real because your aware of them."
We as a collective are very distraught and feel very invalidated. I live in a small Christian town and no other doctors are safe for me to visit. I have a therapist though (let's call her G) who believes me, and is trying to learn about my headmates and become acquainted with them and their negative triggers and likes, etc.
I'm super stressed out and don't know what to do and my headmate who was fronted for the whole ordeal is really upset about it...
Thank you if you read this, I just needed to get it off my chest, feel free to ignore<3 /platonic
Oh, Bug, I'm so sorry that happened to you and your system. I can see why you're distraught and discouraged.
Unfortunately, plurality is often dismissed, misdiagnosed, or in some cases, can cause outright hostility from some mental health professionals.
You and your headmate's feelings are both incredibly valid. Have you been able to reach him since this happened? Try to see if you can contact him to see how he's doing, and give him space to open up if he needs to.
As for some unsolicited comments/advice...
T has absolutely zero right to make that call without even asking you about your experiences and symptoms. That's extremely unprofessional and unethical, in my opinion. It's bad practice to not even talk to your patients on a one-to-one level of baseline respect, let alone make supposedly "informed" decisions about whatever is going on with them within a split-second of hearing about it. You have every right to be upset.
I know you said there's no other doctor for you to go to in your small town... is it a likely option for you (or someone you know) to drive to a doctor somewhere outside the town, but still close by? It may be worth looking into.
With that being said, I am very familiar with being unable to do that for various reasons, so there's 0 judgement if you have to continue seeing this psychiatrist.
If that's the case, though, it may be worth focusing on your relationship with G, since she seems to have a better connection to you all? She seems open, and if you think it's a good idea, I say go for it.
The point to all this is: I am so very sorry you're collectively going through this right now. It's an awful situation, and you did not deserve it. No one deserves to be mistreated, especially not from people who are in the mental health field. It's ok to be sad, or angry, or distrustful, or whatever else you may be feeling. There's no wrong way to process things.
As an aside, I also apologize for the late reply... even after I got back yesterday, it was quite busy IRL, and I didn't get a chance sit down to respond until now. I hope this still manages to bring you some new perspective or comfort.
Please don't forget how incredible you are, and feel free to send any follow-up messages, comments, concerns, etc., to our inbox.
We love you&, and we really sincerely wish you happiness and peace. ❤️

So, you say you don't like Adam and Britt playing power couple, which I see no problem with at all, because they're not doing anything other couples haven't done. Also, the replies on your post and the conversation with you and the other poster made no sense whatsoever, since you were talking about things completely unrelated to Britt and Adam. So, your argument doesn't seem valid.
Also, calling Adam and Britt the Walmart version of Edge and Beth, what's that even supposed to mean? I guess a woman is not allowed to be happy her boyfriend is healthy and gets a second chance to do what he loves or that a couple can't be happy about having the opportunity to work together in the same company without being accused of copying someone else, or having it made to be a negative thing. God forbid.
so I had to go back a ways into my blog to find the post you were talking about and the referenced comments. i appreciate you taking the time to read my post and the comments, then provide me your feedback (genuinely), and I wanted to address a few things publicly.
to address your first comment about other couples doing similar things - I don't like that either. i personally find that character position/storyline/relationship trope limiting and lacking creativity. I'm not saying it can never work, but I prefer the tactic that Becky and Seth use (where they rarely if ever even mention each other in character/in the ring) versus what most other wrestling couples do.
to specifically address the comment referenced in your message, I wanted to provide a screenshot so others don't have to dig for it. "it" is referring to Britt and Adam winning the Owen cup last year.
Tumblr media
in my comment, I explicitly say that I am happy they get to work together now. full stop. I have wanted this for them for years. that doesn't change the feeling I have that these segments probably won't age well. I could be totally wrong; if so, I'll be the first to admit it.
I have also posted many, many, many times about how happy I am that Austin is healthy and able to return to wrestling. I have followed him for 6ish years, and when he got hurt, I was so worried he wouldn't come back. when he did, and again when he was joined by Roddy, I openly screamed and cried about it. I say all this not to center my feelings about the situation, but to demonstrate that I would never say Britt shouldn't celebrate Austin being healthy or hold against her the ways she chooses to do that. I can only imagine what she has been through as he has worked through his recovery process.
when I said "Walmart version," I was talking about the angle, not the people. however, I can see how my comment could be read the way you've described it in your message, and either way, I shouldn't have used this kind of language in the first place. I'm sorry that I did. it was unkind and didn't advance the argument I was trying to make in a constructive way.
as for the rest of the comments, which you say don't have anything to do with Adam and Britt and so invalidate my argument - the rest of the comments continued the conversation into other concerns we have with AEW. you're right that that doesn't have to do with Adam and Britt; I also never argued that it did. the only assertion I made is that my concerns around their roles on screen and possibly backstage are part of the broader concerns I have with the company as a whole.
again, I sincerely thank you for your message. it got me thinking about how I have written about and engaged with wrestling community online and reminded me that I still have work to do.
