realized I entirely forgot to post this one!!

it took a lot longer than I thought it would (mostly because I took a couple-month-long break from working on it) but I finished it up last week! It abstractly represents most of the concepts, feelings, or imagery in the horror and the wild album. I’d be happy to describe my choices if anyone’s interested!

My first attempt at an embroidery project that I actually finished, and my first time trying satin stitching!

I wanted to try something small for my first time trying this again in so long, and I think it turned out pretty well! Also, the fabric is more of a greenish blue than the photos are making it seem, I couldn’t quite get the camera to cooperate with it.

The fact that you only hear Madeleine softly in the background during the "I know you're strong enough to do this" part of Welly Boots is something I'll never get over. She's just an echo in the background, forever overshadowed by the screaming memory of somebody long lost. The only time she can break through and be heard is when she's using the strength that Joey saw in her. And now he's gone, the only connection they have is in his absence. The only bond left comes from the fact that they'll never get to have one. You're strong enough to do this on your own, but only because you have to be.
