#i’m part of the demographic where i was a kid when adventure time started and now watching fionna and cake as an adult makes me emotional #because did they keep us in mind when writing fionna and her attitude towards life #the dissatisfaction #the hoping for something more #something more magical than this dreary life filled with working to live and living to work #it’s so reflective of how life feels for me and perhaps many of us #and also Simon’s episode was so sad but so well thought out #exploring his feelings after the events of the adventure time finale is something I’m glad we get to see #there were already so many layers to his character in AT but now it feels like we get to dive deeper #I also felt emotional hearing Rebecca Sugar singing and writing a song that encapsulates his feelings so well #😭 it’s been awhile seeing her work exist alongside these characters #and all of these emotions get stronger because I remember AT being the one to inspire me to be a storyboard artist #when I was younger I used to follow many of the board artists here in tumblr and would get so inspired by them #to create simple but powerful boards that can capture the feelings of characters so well #Rebecca Sugar’s songs for the AT characters inspired me so much too #I’m sorry this is long I’m just feeling so many things experiencing all of this again as an adult #my art #fanart #adventure time #fionna and cake #fionna the human #cake the cat #simon petrikov

Just saw some Free Palestine supporters on the road to my parents’ house and was about to wave at them but then I saw a couple of them holding signs making disgusting antisemitic jokes about Passover. Guys seriously how fucking difficult is it to just. Aelwyn Abernant coded not in the way that I was abused my whole childhood and pushed into sibling competition, but in the way that I’m a mentally ill older sister with a temperamental younger sister who’s large emotions are often discarded by my parents, and I don’t have the strength to stand up to them because I hate conflict; and this causes my sister to hate me a little bit because she’s always compared against my cowardly and upset silence, as if the fact I cannot stand up for myself or anyone is a good thing because it involves no arguments or talking back.

i think the best thing about andor is it is almost depressingly realistic. The way they went about planning this mission how few of them there were. From the very beginning of the mission it’s just so tense when the reality of what they’re about to do settles in and Vel hesitates like you can tell she doesn’t want to do it. She doesn’t want to die or watch her friends/partners die. And the way the plan literally never went perfectly from the get go Taramyn said “we’re late” the whole time they were behind schedule. Then of course the comms weren’t clear. They dropped a payload and didn’t secure them which led to another death even when the mission was over when you think “ok finally it’s done we win”. Even before the mission starts and Cassian tells Nemik he’ll be fine. It was eerily and depressingly realistic. The betrayal from Skeen once the mission was over the fact that he was apparently lying the whole time. A crew of seven with only three survivors and this mission was “a success”.

they are currently tear gassing my former classmates four blocks from my apartment. the encampment was there for literally like two hours and as soon as the sun set state troopers in riot gear moved in and started tear gassing and arresting people on the grounds of “unlawful assembly”, in a public park on a public campus of the university these students pay to attend, that I paid to attend not even a year ago. I’ve been getting university alert texts calling it a “violent protest” because a handful of students threw water bottles at these cops in their riot gear, and because they don’t need a real reason to arrest you, and because they can say whatever they want and do whatever they want and get away with it. they’ve been setting off the emergency sirens periodically, a thing I’ve only heard them do before in the event of an active tornado. there are ALWAYS christian fundamentalists on campus harassing students with megaphones, but we can’t doing anything about that. there’s breaking and entering and violent crime and sexual assault all the time but we can’t do anything about that. a kid died from hazing two years ago. multiple students have died from being hit by cars in the last few years but we don’t have traffic cops helping regulate things. but I’m just saying things we already know: the cops aren’t here for us. they’re here to uphold fascism. the university isn’t here for us. the government isn’t here for us. no one in my generation will be able to afford a house since there’s no money to excuse student debt or fix the economy, but somehow there’s money for more cops, more tear gas, and more weapons to fund israel’s genocide. I’m not at the encampment because I’m a coward and my fear of getting tasered is stronger than my desire to help. but god I’m so fucking angry.
