Concept: the justice league finds out that Blaze and Satanus, the rulers of hell, are kids of their ‘even more of a boy scout than Superman’ coworker’s “boss” and think Shazam is the Christian God. They ask Billy really vague questions that lead Billy into confusing them even more and they become convinced that Marvel’s Wizard guy is God with a capital G and Marvel’s either an angel or the second coming of Jesus.

Meanwhile Shazam doesn’t even know what the Bible is and his knowledge about religion is so outdated he still thinks Solomon’s Judaism is new age and not worth his time to research such a ‘fad’ religion, but he knows humans will make a religion out of anything as well as bastardize existing ones and very well could have mixed up actual tales that involve him, his allies, and his children into some sort of melting pot of a religion.

So when someone finally asks Marvel outright if his “boss” is God, Billy goes ‘wait… old guy in white robes and sandals, with long white hair and a beard… lives in space… aka the “heavens”, whose a ghost(Holy Spirit), and knows everything(historama)??? I need to dig deeper into this hold on guys’ and goes off to ask the wizard.

So when Billy asks the Wizard he just tells Billy “well, my boy, if so many things match up, maybe it is so and the tales of myself and my champions grew so estranged from their origins or mixed in with other beliefs that it can explain the things that aren’t true to our reality.”

Then The Canonical Character To The DC Universe, Jesus of Nazareth, shows up.

I know the gwen playlist was likely more assembled on a "songs that have gwen vibes" principle, but because the framing of the rest of the cast playlists is "what would they listen to at work," this implies that gwen is clocking in, setting her headphones to the lowest volume possible, and listening to: the mr bonzo theme, the encanto soundtrack, a dozen odd songs about a god complex driving you to self destruction, and THE SUCCESSION THEME. oh my god, gwen. you are cringe and you are shackled.

This is what I mean when I say the anti-Steve Rogers hate is annoying because why every time I come across a tiktok/post about Steve/Captain America, I have to see Tony stans 🤣

You can very easily see that it TRANSCENDS fanfic and socmed platforms because they actively go out of their way to make sure everyone knows what they think of Steve. And almost 100% of the time, they're Tony stans.

I'm a Tony fan, I love him in almost every version of him across the marvel media, but this level of obsession with Steve has to be studied💀🤣. In tiktoks about Tony, you won't ever find this much comments about Steve to the point where it's spam. But almost all the ones about Cap, the comment section is flooded with hate for Steve.

And all the pro-Tony/anti-Steve bugs that came out of the woodwork for my last post about this? THIS is why discourse is needed and nuanced discussions about the mischaracterization of characters to the point where yall are doing this on posts that aren't even about Tony.

Steve fans will have discourse about the different elements of his character, admit his flaws, and KEEP it to ao3 or tumblr or wherever the discourse is happening.

Tony stans will go out of their way to tell the whole world how much they love Tony and hate Steve and they'll do it wherever and whenever they can. That's the difference between Steve fans and Tony stans (and I use stans for Tony because yall are bordering on cult behaviour.)

Fuck fuck fuck I read an article ab how itsv and atsv have together made like a billion dollars at the box office (not exaggeration that's what it said,,,) and this might (depending on how well btsv is received) mean Marvels gnna wanna make more animated movies,,,,,,, OHMYGOODNESS !!!! I think Spider-Verse is truly special bc it was like, the first of what it did (arguably),, BUT but it looks the way it does bc it was specifically animated with a comic book in mind and I assume that means we can take that premise/technology and apply it to other mediums and make more cool visually distinct animated movies using the same sort of technology !!!!!! Like we saw w that puss in boots movie that was sooo good bc it kind of looked like Spider-Verse but it was so obviously set in a fantasy land/storybook moreso than a comic book,,,,, if Marvel can get its shit together (it won't 🙁) it will use some critical thinking and use the technology and techniques used in Spider-Verse in new and creative ways and !!!!!! This is a massive win !!!!!!!!!! Finally got around to watching Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

100% honesty here?

I smiled-to-grinned-helplessly at every second of it! It is SO charming and SO expertly animated! The comparisons to the Spiderverse movies I've seen so far are 100% warranted and I genuinely hope loads of CGI animated movies follow these patterns/designs in the future because they're just SO refreshing to watch in a... maybe "engaging" is the word to use? You feel like you're IN the animation, reacting eagerly TO it, rather than sitting tiredly as you watch a rough draft with a few key splash pages go by.

I dunno. YouTube keeps recommending me people bleh-dunking on Disney's Wish and from what clips of that movie I've seen it looks SO dull in comparison to Puss. Like, I have 0 clue what Wish is about! I've seen maybe 4 5-10 second clips of it at most. There's a goat? The protag's bestie (besties??) are based on the 7 Dwarves? There's like 50 references to older Disney movies because it's supposed to be a celebration of Disney's 100th?

But strictly speaking from a visual perspective/demonstration/execution/exultation of animation prowess? Puss is INCREDIBLE. On a strictly visual/style comparison there is NO comparison. I'm speaking honestly here; I couldn't HELP but grin watching every second of Puss. It's a delight just to watch. I'd say that even if the story bored me and that is NOT the case. The story is SO GOOD. The story makes it an EASY 10 times better than what the brilliant visuals promised. It is SO worth the dollars I dropped on a rental watch of it, and it's definitely a movie I (a person who is NOT interested in movies until years later at BEST) would be keen to watch again.
