Landon was outside, trying to set up an outdoor movie session with Rafael. With his best friend in wolf form and no idea how to bring him back to normal, he just wanted to be able to make him as comfortable as possible. And that meant trying to make him a wolf den.

"So, I should probably tell you I moved rooms last month. Ours was getting painted, and I figured I'd move back in once you were, you know, you again," Landon said. "But if for any reason you become you while I'm out, like looking for ways to help you become you, I just didn't want you to go back and see that I wasn't in our room anymore and think that I bailed on you because I would never do that obviously. I also brought the photos of that mystery girl I told you about into the new room with me so the painters don't... yanno, mess them up."

Rafael approached, growling. Landon wondered what Rafael would say about the girl in the photos. He noticed that in the ones they had with her, he had a certain look on his face that Landon hadn't seen in a while. Not since Cassie. He wondered if there was perhaps something that had gone on between them, and if there was, he was sad that his best friend may never remember.

"No matter what path I go down, it seems like a dead end. I mean, there were at least two other people with Landon the night Malivore was destroyed," Alaric said as he walked around town square with his daughter, standing behind people holding things to decorate for the holiday. "They left fibers, footprints, hair. I just don't know who they were."

"Maybe one of them is Lilah," Josie suggested. "She had to go somewhere, and if none of us remember her, the only logical explanation is into Malivore. And that's just the point of Malivore, if someone went into the pit, they'd be erased from our memories."

"Yeah, well, that's what's haunting me," Alaric replied. "Who've we forgotten? There was two others there. It can't just be this Lilah girl."

"It couldn't have been anybody we've known. There'd be keepsakes, photos, an empty bed somewhere. We only have Lilah's, so if someone else went into that pit with her, it's not someone we knew," Josie shrugged.

"Well, whoever they were, they were important to somebody."

"Why is she running around and decorating the Abbatoir?" Rebekah muttered, watching as Lorelle went around the Mikaelson compound with Fourth of July decorations. "She doesn't even know that America is like, she's been dead for over a thousand years."

"Maybe she's feeling a bit patriotic," shrugged Marcel, grabbing her hands and bringing them closer to him as they sat on the couch. "Rebekah, I know you've been missing your brothers lately, and I understand you're upset with Lilah for not telling us about her identity sooner, but she's your family, babe. You guys already spent a thousand years without your niece, and now you want to spend more?"

"What does my frustration with my brother's daughter have to do with her mother running amongst decorating?"

"I think it's cute," Kol stated, making his presence in the room known as he walked over to the couch, placing his hands on the back of it. "It's Lorie's first holiday with her daughter. Maybe let her enjoy it."

"Perhaps we figure out how the mummy came back from the dead, and then we can deal with her being a mommy to Lilah."

"I just can't get over the fact that he's your dad," Josh said, leaning against their kitchen counter munching away on a bag of chips while Lilah cleaned the table. "This is a bigger surprise than the look on your face when you found out I was gay."

"Let it go, Josh!" Lilah yelled with laughter, sending a playful glare his way.

He shrugged, "I'm just saying. You went from Lilah Desmarais, mysterious, small, and badass to Lilah Mikaelson, deadly, unkillable, and in love within the matter of weeks."

"I am not in love!" Lilah denied, placing her hands on her hips.

Josh rolled his eyes.

"Normally, you and I spend practically every waking moment together, either here or at Rousseau's. Since you've met Roman, we've hired him to work with us, and when you're not with me, you're spending time with Mommy dearest or Mr. Mystery Blond," Josh said, pulling out facts to hit his best friend with. "Lilah, we hired him because you two wanted to spend more time together. You can't tell me that's not you being in love."

"It's been a month and a half! I only want to be around him so much because his presence helps me unlock the weird deja vu feeling I get, like there's things I need to remember,"

"Time doesn't tell what love is and isn't, and the fact that he's the key to you're weird funk might just prove my point even further," shrugged Josh.

Lilah threw the rag she was using to clean up the table at him, accidentally knocking his bag of chips out of his hand. He stood there with his jaw wide open, looking at her like she had killed someone. She shrugged, walking out of the room.

Lilah got to the Mikaelson compound, seeing red white and blue streamers and decorations everywhere.

"Lilah, be a dear and help me with this."

She was surprised when she saw Rebekah putting up decorations, but what really threw her was that Rebekah was speaking to her. Since her revelation about who her dad was, the relationship she had with the blonde was strained. She had been one of her best friends prior, and perhaps that's why it hurt so much. Rebekah hated when secrets were kept from her, especially since when she was rolling with just Klaus and Elijah, she would be kept out of the loop a lot.

Lilah walked over, helping her aunt put up some balloons.

"What is all of this?" Lilah asked.

"Your mother wanted to put on a little party," Rebekah explained, looking at her niece for the first time in forever. "And I'm not the type to turn one down. Especially not when it's in the honor of my family."

Lilah turned her head to the side, confused. It did touch her heart that Rebekah was finally acknowledging her, though.

"She wants everything to be extravagant. She gets to experience her firsts with her daughter, who's grown into a fine young lady," Rebekah said, before sassily adding, "Who obtained her auntie's horrible taste in men."

"I heard that," Marcel said from the balcony, where he was hanging up some more balloons.

"Good!" Rebekah called back. She turned back to her niece, "Thinking of poor taste in men, go invite that hot vampire of yours."

"You mean the one you practically threw in a dungeon?"

"We don't have a dungeon," Rebekah replied. "Though... not turning down the suggestion to make one."

"That was not a suggestion!"

       New Orleans during any kind of holiday seemed like a dream. The excitement, the music, the people, and the liquor. Lilah stood on the roof, faint music playing in the background. She had a drink in her head, onlooking the city her father helped build with the help of her uncle, aunt, and Marcel—who no matter what title Lilah gave him, it sounded weird considering he was married to her aunt.

The sun was well set, which only meant that the fireworks would be starting soon. Lilah reflected on her life, how she should've felt like she was on top of the world. But the brunette could've shake the feeling that this was all fake, that she was living a lie. She was unsure why or how, but she had the strangest feeling that this wasn't the life she was meant to live.

Someone stepped onto the balcony, and she glanced over her shoulder to see Roman. He smiled at her, walking over and wrapping an arm around her waist. The two of them hadn't talked about what they were, whether they wanted to be exclusive or anything like that. Lilah kept brushing it off to Josh that they were just having fun. She knew that when fall came around, he'd go back to work, leaving New Orleans and herself behind.

But it was nice. It was nice to feel good to be wrapped in someone else's arms. She couldn't remember the last time she let herself feel something so all consuming. She denied it though, denied that her knees buckled every time the curly haired boy looked in her direction.

She denied that her dead heart fluttered when he kissed her.

She denied that it almost made her want to cry when she thought about how his departure was inevitable.

She denied that it felt wrong almost, to love someone who played even the most minor of roles in the death of Hayley Marshall.

She denied that he made her feel almost the same way Stefan once did.

She was a lot like Elijah in that way. He was big on how true love was hard to find, something he himself believed to have only found three times in his life. For his daughter, however, she could only think of one instance where she had been in love, and with her new predicament, she felt that this might just turn into the second time.

She really was a little miniature version of Elijah, whether or not he raised her.

She heard the small hum of something being shot through the sky, both of them turning their heads to the sky. People started to pour out of the compound or go onto the balcony alongside them, the sound of the party coming outside. Lilah and Roman moved to the corner together, watching as the sky lit up in beautiful colors.

She couldn't help but hold onto his hands that were on her waist or lean back into him with a giggle. She moved her arm so that one of them was around his shoulder, and he placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Happy Fourth of July," he said to her.

"It's been a pretty epic summer," she said back, smiling ear to ear.

Seeing his wide smile and dazed eyes, she knew that denying it would only get her so far.

"Actually, Gizmo's a Mogwai," responded Josie.

"Oh, God. He's got you speaking nerd!"

"Relax, we're just friends."

"You are not friends! You're a montage," pointed out Lizzie.

"It's been... fun," explained the brunette. "It's been like, actual fun."

"You know what's actual-actual fun? Mom and I taking the speed train to Rome for the weekend. So get your ass across the pond! Stop worrying about Dad, and stop worrying about whoever Lilah used to be—"

"Love you," Josie said, and Lizzie gasped and Josie practically press the end button of their witchy video-call.

Josie and Landon looked all over the woods and the building out there, but they couldn't find Rafael anywhere. Josie and Landon continued to get closer, slowly falling for one another. Despite Rafael going missing, Landon and Josie talked about what things made them happy-ish.

Outside of the school, Dorian William's almost runs over a girl. She plays off how she knew Dorian, and acts like she's going to be on her way. She goes back into the school, knowing the gate code, feeling happy to finally be the place she called home, a place she had been longing for for who-knows-how-long.

She just wasn't expecting to come back looking for her best friends and her boyfriend, to see that they both moved on without her. That the people she loved would just fill in the gap she left when they can no longer remember her.

it's come to my attention that you guys don't like lorelle... LMAOO. elijah was never the type to have good taste in women (the exception of hayley) i mean... celeste??? katherine??? LOL

also, i've talked about this before since others have commented about it before, but writing a book about lilah in the vampire diaries?? i've been thinking about it a lot lately, and perhaps i love the idea because i can't let go of lilah. i mean, she's my baby. she's the first character/first book where people totally fell in love with my writing, where people have stuck with me. so, on the topic of lilah desmarais/mikaelson having a series in the vampire diaries? yes, i want to write it.

it would be a bit of an 'au' i guess. nothing about that book/series will have anything to do with lilah's storyline here, since this timeline never has lilah go be in mystic falls until the salvatore school. the only thing that would be the same is who her family is, her backstory, her friendship with katherine.

i'm thinking of writing this series as a "spin-off" but that then prompts the question: what about with the mikaelson's leave mystic falls and goes to new orleans? lilah will get to choose between staying in mystic falls or going with her family. i am excited to start this spin off. it'll still technically be "book 4" of the SIDE CHARACTER CHRONICLES, but i may write this book and book 4 at the same time.

kso, i’m going to be honest. shanley had an extremely normal and happy childhood. her parents met in high school, fell in love and were married after graduating college. her father ( theodore evans / think sandy cohen from the oc ) is an executive vice president of an insurance company while her mother ( clara evans / think kristina braverman from parenthood ) is a stay-at-home mom. born and raised in new york city. she has an older sister ( haddie evans / think prue halliwell from charmed ) who is three years older, she has an extremely close relationship with her. shanley is obsessed with family, tbh. she tells them just about everything. they had dinner together every night and talk about their days, have inside jokes, go on family vacations every summer ( before sclub summers ). overall, her parents are very loving and supportive, wanting only the best for their daughters. in high school, shanley was convinced she wasn’t like other girls *pUkeS*. she was very outgoing. like she literally made friends with anyone and everyone. a friendly face; probably the student who showed the new students around. it was rare to see shanley upset or rude to anyone unless she was defending someone. she had good grades (our shanny was v advanced), kind of a teacher’s pet but like still got her seat moved or sent to the hallway because she wouldn’t stop talking. i almost made her superlative most likely to say something stupid because like that’s her too. she was on the yearbook committee, played volleyball, and was a part of the student government. if she wasn’t at school or home, you would most likely find her with arlo, which whew. a story there. when it came to the sclub, she spent whatever free time she had left with them. encouraging all the trouble; shanley will do ANYTHING you tell her to and probably doesn’t think about it. don’t give her dumbass a dare because she will do it. sorry , i forgot what i was going to say; let’s change topics. kyle for the character thing!!!!

Buckle up bc I’m extra af and love talking abt characters. Be aware this is like, entirely personal opinion and personal interpretation and also it’s almost 2am so LETS GO

1) sexuality hc: I’ve always really liked bi Kyle ahsjdkfk and tbh I’ve always found the idea of his attraction to other ppl really interesting

The way I characterize him is that he’s someone who’s like, typically very passive with his attraction. He’ll kind of glance at someone and think they’re attractive but he doesn’t necessarily have any strong feelings towards them or desire/drive to want to pursue anything with them. If he does want to pursue them it’s usually out of a sense of obligation or expectation—like a “well I might as well” or “this is what I’m supposed to do” kinda thing

Except Kyle DOES have exceptions—when he finds someone he feels passionately about, someone he’s emotionally and mentally invested in, it’s like 0-100 in terms of difference, bc suddenly he can’t stop thinking abt that person, how much he wants to be with them, etc. and a lot of that characterization, for me, falls in line w the specific ship I have for Kyle (which is obvious if you’ve followed me for a few but I’ll get Into That in the next section)

2) OTP: KYMAN by far my fave Kyle ship and one of my all time fave sp ships overall. I’ve always LOVED rivals/enemies to lovers ships that specifically have 1) characters who are equals 2) characters who are incredibly intimate and close w one another even if (or because of) it’s in the context of the rivalry 3) the characters have either some level of co-dependence or a need for the dynamic or one another in some way bc the relationship is fulfilling to them and bonus if 4) they’re the only ones that really understand each other

And I jus. Love that. Esp w kyman it’s so much fun taking that dynamic, the codependency and obsession, and just. Playing with it, on a storytelling/character analysis level. And then making it healthy, having them work through issues, bc the idea that “we’re both in way too deep with each other, we can either destroy each other or learn to get along” is jus 👌👌👌

And w kyman I love having Eric be Kyle’s exception. Kyle feels basically nothing towards his other s/o’s in contrast to how deeply he feels about Eric, and for Eric to have just as much depth of emotion in return. It’s fascinating and really fun esp when written from a kind of duo-redemptive story—they both start out toxic towards each other, and their relationship is toxic to other people, but they can’t bring themselves to put an end to it so they finally make it to that middle ground and come out as better peoole, together

This applies to a lot of my rivals/enemies to lovers ships but w kyman in particular there’s the added Funkiness of the childhood friends dynamic which is TASTEY like some nice sprinkles to jus add that extra Flavour. I love the concept of Kyle and Eric forming parts of their entire identities around each other from the time they were in diapers and everyone accepts that they’re always gonna he crazy for each other bc no one has the bond they do it’s so much fun

4) brotp: I should think more abt Kyle friendships tbh I don’t give those as much attention ahsjdkfkfk—tho I definitely have a soft spot for the super best friends kyle + Stan, I just have to work some development into it.

I love exploring their friendship as smth that deteriorates bc they grow apart as people, but then they realize they don’t WANT to grow apart and have to work to stay friends bc being friends isn’t as easy as it was when you were 8. It brings this really cool development that confronts Stan’s passivity towards his friends/his nihilism and Kyle’s entitlement and lack of emotional sensitivity and how they both need to make some compromises (but esp Kyle, bc I can see Stan as someone who tries very hard to not get much feedback).

In terms of Kyle being friends w other people I’m thinking it would be pretty situational. I can see Kyle getting some really eye opening perspectives from other ppl if he opens himself up to their views but that requires knocking Kyle down a few pegs lol, it’s fun to have him learn to recognize his own assumptions abt ppl and learning to value them as individuals yanno?

3) notp: honestly? Any other kyle ship. I can personally only see Kyle w Eric ahsjdkfk kyman endgame all the way. For me, a lot of other Kyle ships like, don’t make any sense, a lot in part bc I see Kyle as someone who has a lot of issues w socialization, entitlement, and selfishness along with his UNENDING OBSESSION w Eric Cartman (which also somewhat stems from those issues bc of Kyle’s sense of self identity vis a vis the rivalry)

Like, I can’t see Kyle sitting down and forming a meaningful romantic relationship w anyone else bc like, no one can provide the fulfillment, engagement, drive, and push/pull of Kyle’s relationship w Eric. Kyle would leave at the drop of a hat to confront smth Eric was doing and I don’t think he’d ever compromise with that. And someone who does compromise on that probably isn’t someone Kyle would want to be with in the long run.

I think the only ship I can see would be like, poly m4 bc that draws on pre-existing dynamics and doesn’t break or try to divy up Kyle’s attention. (Even tho like I said I don’t like Kyle w anyone else romantically)

5) 1st hc that pops in my head: my Kyle is autistic as fuck. Characterizing him as autistic gives a lot of insight into how his mind works and why he acts the way he does—a lot of his thought processes are just. What makes the most logical sense to him. It’s just that those trains of thought are on KYLES logic and that’s when he struggles to realize when he’s crossed a line or overstepped a boundary. Or how his brain is usually always “self-centered”—not in a morally negative way, just in that it’s not a natural reflect for him to remember other people.

And a ton of other things as well( including a fun hc of Kyle trying to use his autism as an excuse for being a dick, until Also Autistic Craig steps up like, no dude you’re just an asshole bc you’re not trying to do better). And bc as an autistic person, I really relate hard to Kyle to the point where if he were real I’d probably hate him bc we’d be too similar lmao; I think esp when I was a kid I acted a lot like Kyle—the self righteousness, the bossiness, the belief that my way was the only way that made sense and everyone else was just Wrong, the anger issues, etc.

It’s why I’m tough on Kyle a lot of the time, but it’s also why I love thinking abt his development, bc I know firsthand that he can mellow out, change, become a better, more wellrounded and emotionally aware person, and how he can make an effort into doing so

6) oh shit I didn’t even mean for this but obviously one way I relate to Kyle is the Above autistic hc and how I characterize him. Like I said, I acted a LOT like Kyle when I was a kid, so I know he’s an irritating little shit, but also brilliant and too thoughtful for his own good sometimes.

But another thing: I characterize Kyle as someone who is a natural leader, but hates being in official leadership positions. And this is also smth I’ve kinda written due to personal experience. But also from the way kyles often portrayed in canon—in the games, he’s always a support role, always a healer, ranged fighter, or someone who boosts and buffs allies

I see Kyle as the type of person who can easily take control in, for example, a group project situation, or when he’s hanging out with Stan and they’re only doing what Kyle wants to do bc Kyle comes up with all the ideas and Stan just goes along with them

But I can’t see Kyle as someone who’d want to be, like, student counsel president. (That’s more Wendy’s wheelhouse) Mostly bc there’s too much responsibility that it’s just exhausting, and more than that, those official positions are STIFLING. They run on someone else’s schedule and they’re creatively constructive. You can’t fully do your own thing bc you have to be constantly aware of how the group works and what the group wants. I can’t see Kyle as being happy in that position bc he’d get sick of having to conform his ideas to what other ppl want—he just wants to do his own thing.

So instead, Kyle would be more comfortable in a supporting role. Bc in a position like, for example, secretary or VP, he can still have a lot of influence, power, and knowledge, but he’s free from those restrictions that come from being the face of a group. And he’s also free from the social obligations of being a leader, esp in having to deal w other groups in like a business sort of way. AND if the group falls, Kyle won’t take as much of the blame, bc it’s probably not his fault anyways so why should everyone point fingers at him. It’s much less pressure.

(And it’s also kinda inspired by his role in the CBAA??—Cartman’s perfect in the CEO/face of the company position bc Cartman is comfortable with and relishes in the attention and social aspect of being the face/leader of a company, and Kyle can reap all the benefits of being a part of that company, including being an integral pillar of the company, w/o the deficits. If Eric and Kyle ran a company they’d work together, sure, but Eric would crumble without Kyle’s support, and Kyle would hate the stifling pressure of the head position, which makes them a perfect pair.)

(And again this is based on personal experience—I’m a natural leader. People listen to me, I can organize groups, and I’m a good mediator, but I hate when it becomes Official bc I can’t just. Do my own thing as I want to and it’s far too much to keep track of and most of it doesn’t interest me. It always irritated me when my parents tried to push me into like running for student president bc I just kept thinking abt all the work I’d have to do that I wouldn’t care abt)

7) what gives me secondhand embarrassment about Kyle? Well. Just......how much he reminds me of when I was a stupid kid. He’s such a little shit oh my god Kyle shut the fuck up YOURE NOT GHANDI. When Kyle’s being entitled and stuck up, when he thinks he’s better than other ppl, and when his own big mouth and pride are what fucks him over I’m just oh my god. Oh my GODDDDDD SHUT UPPPPP.

Mostly it’s secondhand embarrassment bc I’m jus oh my god ur an idiot—but again bc I know he has the ability to grow out of that and look back on himself with a grimace at how dumb he was ahsjdkfkfk

8) cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Definitely the latter, I love Kyle and I love when he’s happy and contented but him as a cinnamon roll kinda character feels so flat to me. I love him as a problematic fave he’s so much fun as a disaster. He’s complex—he’s tough and caring and angry and compassionate and an absolute fireball of EMOTIONS but he tries to act like he’s a logical rational person and I jus? He’s so much more fun and dynamic when he’s allowed to be messy

Very messy Delta review

Hey gang, i sat & typed & spiraled while listening to delta for the first time just now, so if that interests you to read barely legible thoughts, it’ll be under the read more thing. dang i’m sad!! BUt spoiler alert: GOOOD ALBUM! I’m SAD!! (do note I don’t find the album or many tracks all-around too sad, I’m just a depressed bih)

Guiding Light: Hot dang the whispered beginning?? I really need to fix my computer speakers because this sounds heavenly in my over-ear headphones,, gosh dang. Discover some new TRUTH! Gosh dang this is not a comprehensive review in the slightest but i don’t care!! Binch!! I can’t even say anything good… when beloved or darkness visible makes me cry, i guess beloved is fourth? So if it does it’ll be first, anyway, when i start crying maybe i have something cooler to say. Not crazy about the “dubstep build” on this, after the bridge, just because i don’t believe it, like it’s not long enough, and resolves unconvincingly. But, anyway.

That being said, Picture You sounds v vibey right off the bat. Okay lads! I thought it best you didn’t knowww. I’m so proud of Marcus for flaunting these vocals, i stg, I’ve spoken on this before but... like he can do that!! I’m so glad he’s,, doing it! Ooh the “away” is v nice. I love full-stops in music, where the sound gets sucked out like here or just stops entirely… yes boys. Okay.. not crazy about this kind of.. Breakdown but it’s still cool. If I Say: is still v v nice,, sounds effing expansive and beautiful with good headphones, i’m picking up all the lil details and prettiness.. The synth line after “if i say i love you, well then i love you” is sooo satisfying too. Ugh this orchestra,,, it’s building.. Truly their minds were so big on this album, huh. I’ll tell you what It doesn’t mean that i feel better! It doesn’t mean that I feel better! i really, honestly, truly do not care what pronouns you use for me. the closest thing i identify as is genderfluid. i’m biologically female and present that way most of the time just because i’m 1. lazy 2. live in one of the most conservative states in america and 3. extra lazy and just don’t want to Deal With It. but personally i feel pretty androgynous so whatever you feel comfortable calling me is fine by me.

i’ve never known wtf to say my sexuality is so i just file it under generic queerness. consenting human adult who is not related to me is my sexuality. there you go. i’m also polyamorous with a non-poly s/o and we’ve been together for 9 years. with that in mind please don’t get all weird with me. i’ve yet to have that problem but hey, never know.

i have pretty severe ADD and it was only diagnosed a couple of years ago and it’s been a royal fucking bitch trying to treat it. i was doing pretty well on adderall but i built up a tolerance and can’t go any higher with it. on vyvanse now and i really don’t like it. probably won’t be switching to anything else anytime soon though. going through med changes is just so exhausting. and expensive. so, yanno, sometimes i can be spacey af while other times so fucking hyperfocused on something i can’t shut up about it. 

also went from your basic general depression to severe major depression in the span of like 2 years and tbh i’m still very slowly crawling my way out of it. fucking ironically tumblr has really helped with that LOL i spent my entire life around toxic, abusive, and negative environments so those are like the last thing i ever want to be. thus, i try to stay pretty positive. i cope with humor, too. so yeah, despite my cheerfulness and joking i’m usually pretty down.

got that hella bad anxiety on top of it all. most of mine is social anxiety, but in general i’m a pretty fuckin anxious person. coupled with my add my mind can be a terribly loud place sometimes. those two also give me some baaaaad insomnia every once in a while.

and like all that wasn’t bad enough, i’ve also got pcos and all the wonderful imbalances that come with it.

i never get enough sleep. my usual is 5 hours a night. about once a month i’ll sleep for like 20 hours straight. super not healthy but i can’t help it always. tired is my state of existence. 

i’ve been in various medical fields for like... 8ish years. jobless currently as of last week but w/e i’ll find something soon i’m sure.

i have 4 cats. i love cats. i’m that person that cries when they talk about how much they love cats. i’m wearing a cat shirt right now. in cat pj pants. with two cats sleeping next to me. i fucking love cats. kittens are my weakness. had 5 cats, but in january we very suddenly lost one of them to either viral meningitis or brain tumor (most likely tumor since the others didn’t get sick. i didn’t want an autopsy done) and tbh i’m still not over it. i honest to fucking god love them like my children, more than i love most other people. it felt like a part of me died with him and i miss him so much every damn day.

i’ve been told i come off as confidant on here?? lmao thats so far from the truth. i have so little confidence. what i do have is an enormous lack of fucks to give about a lot of things - one of the only perks of getting older i’ve found. i’m quiet and weird and super self-conscious and awkward and i legit only have like 2 irl friends bc i don’t make them easily. i don’t like talking - like with my voice. i’d for real be mute if i could.

How he got into money laundering

russell was never a particularly nice man. he was blunt and crass in high school and college, but as he excelled in sports and in academia, the small society that was his school mostly praised his accomplishments instead of acknowledging his less than pleasant personality. miguel, a classmate and teammate was his only competition for the role of captain and lead attacker on the lacrosse team. russell (being the asshole that he was) wanted to find any means of getting rid of his competitor. when he sniffed around miguel’s life, he found that his father was an illegal immigrant and reported him to the authorities. looking back was he proud of it? no. But being the captain of the lacrosse team certainly helped him score the scholarships he needed for FSU.

little did he know that miguel would become a leader of one of mexico’s largest drug cartels. miguel could, and did, hold a grudge throughout the years. once he found russell, he threatened to kill him and his family, but russell offered to launder money for him in larger amounts than anyone else could. now, he’s cut off contact with his family and uprooted his life to georgia to run a few businesses that will allow him to work with miguel.

Personality

Selfish -- in terms of doing whatever he needs to do to keep himself and his loved one’s alive. he doesn’t often think about how things affect people, but if the negative consequences are shoved in his face he is capable of feeling a twinge of guilt.

Loyal -- he will do anything for those close to him as long as he feels they are returning the favor. it takes a lot for russell to give up on you.

Manipulative -- there isn’t anything he WOULDN’T do to keep those he holds dear safe. He also has needs of his own, so if he can take advantage of people to satisfy those he will.

Persistent -- no is meaningless to this man. there is no instance in which he won’t fight to get what he wants or feels he deserves.

He enjoys being around people despite the attitude that comes and goes. Russell tries to be a decent person 60% of the time, and hopes to be a good one 100% of the time one day.

Sister -- I will probably request this down the road, but this is the one person he values above anyyyyy other person despite the fact that he hasn’t talked to her for 7 months to “protect” her.

Girlfriend -- This is someone he probably was dating back in the States or had a long distance relationship with that he wants to stop seeing but can’t because of all of the time invested. Maybe she knows and he’s afraid to leave her? Maybe he supports her financially bc of it? Maybe she doesn’t know but is on to him? IDK so many options broz. ( age appropriate tho yanno. maybe 25 +)

Other woman  -- In the past Russell was never known to cheat. That’s ONE thing he never would have done, but perhaps there’s some girl that is smart and funny and gorg and he feels himself becoming tempted. A good friend? Friend of the girlfriend’s? idk i love to be messy

Best Bro -- He needs a best friend. A best friend who has no idea what he’s doing. A dude to hang out with and someone who can help him when he’s at his worst but won’t know why and we can plot dramatic stuffff.

Business Partner -- Someone to help him find business deals. Someone who is kind of badass and smart and is more charismatic and appealing than he is to balance out his weaknesses. This would probably also be the drinking partner. So many mini plots for the business partner in my head yall.

How do you even come up with your drawing ideas? Like, the poses and actions and stuff... I always try to find different poses for my characters but end up using often the same, so, yeah going back to the question, hOW dO YOU DO IT AAA also i'm super jealous of you?? uhh its kind of a good question how i come up w ideas….im actually heinously uncreative. but i AM gay & thats pretty much the theme in everything i ever make lol…i kind of just have ideas on a whim i guess, or thinking up certain scenarios that i also find i can picture as drawings, or just getting inspiration from any random little source & converting it into a drawing…hm. i just think of any sort of moment that would seem fun to depict & kinda reverse engineer it into how i might manage to put it into a drawing

pose-wise, i rarely ever have a drawing fully envisioned before i start making it, which probably just makes things more difficult for me…but like when i think of a certain general possible Pose, it tends to come to me in pieces…like i’ll start with some main idea about posture or a certain action or point of contact or something, but i’ll end up having to be like ok so uhhh, what are the legs doing?? or where is the other arm in all this, etc etc etc. often i’ll try to plan out how the Main Thing will look, and build the rest of the pose around what will simply look good with that &/or contribute to the balance/flow/silhouette of the body idk

i really do not have that much of an organized approach to anything i do at all rip

most of my inspiration for drawing bodies ever was to be able to show actions / interactions & to use the body to further express mood/emotion……you can only do so much thru drawing only from the shoulders up yanno? and it gets kinda fun to draw the more you get used to it

tbh i find it harder to draw like really basic poses like the Just Standing There feet together / arms at sides pose….so i’m part drawing things more dynamically as a convenience for myself, which is also always the motivation behind all my artistic choices pretty much. but it also kinda helps that nobody really ever stands that way, and if they are it sort of implies some kind of formality. posture and the way ppl carry themselves can express a lot….basically everything i draw is also about expressing emotions, so i really like how things can be shown via the body as well as the face. like hands and legs can be really expressive & overall posture and the way ppl move, which isnt always showable in a static image, but movement can always be implied / shown in one way or another…though i still tend to primarily focus on faces. like how i really enjoy subtler color palettes but always end up using really bright colors myself when im using color at all, rip, oh well

basically idk i find more expressive poses more fun to draw, and more yknow expressive…also i’m really picky about lines/curves having clear angles where they connect and shapes being fairly distinct, and i think thats also easier to have when bodies are moved/held more angularly….it makes the silhouette more fun too, not like thats hugely important, just again that i think all of this is more fun to draw than having a Just Standing There default pose. though those can be good too. there is a place for everything

ummmm it IS really frustrating trying to start doing something you don’t usually do & you’re like god whats the point doing something thats just misery all the time…i mean i dont consider myself that great at drawing bodies, i’m trying to be better at keeping things as 3d shapes in my head and being kinda sculptural abt drawing poses and stuff, and perspective always throws a wrench in things. but the silver lining is that when you’re starting out is generally guaranteed to be the worst of it & even though eternal dissatisfaction is the curse of drawing & everything else, things at least get easier & you can always look back on stuff and want to die because you were so much more shit at basic things back then sigh

i’m the worst to give advice about how to Practice Things, because i don’t. because i’m not trying to get good at art, i’m just trying to be better at whatever i wanna draw, which is always very limited…and i dont have the focus to ever do basic exercise stuff anyways…i cant even ever remember to use references 95% of the time. but it can help a lot, especially starting out….some artists will do like a whole page of really dynamic / dramatic / unusual poses and those are great to look at, and theres always photos of course…though idk that i’d worry too much about being strictly realistic, just kinda think of it as a starting point to build off of and make adjustments as you want them / use it more as guidelines. stylizing something sometimes looks more realistic than a picture honestly….real pix of bodies can just be ridiculous like wtf. aesthetically terrible, boo

idk if any of this seems relevant to anything you were really asking or if i all went off on a tangent there lma o …..i dont think im the best for advice!! but the good news is you probably already have a better approach than me. i just sneak practicing shit / trying new things into whatever gay thing i feel like making, and i guess i just happen to get better lol…every drawing makes you better even if the drawing sucks….thats one less bad drawing out of the way yknow

A random headcanon: he’s struggled with obsessive compulsive thoughts/actions in terms of cleanliness/hygiene, to the point where they’ve actively ruined parts of his life. Like, if he was stressed it would get especially bad. Sometimes he’d get into these cycles, where, he’d see something was dirty and start to clean it, but in the middle of cleaning it, he’d see something ELSE dirty and HAVE to stop and clean that, but then he didnt finish the first thing, so he’s stuck in this loop of never finishing anything and he just gets more and more stressed. Or he once had the impulse to clean his ENTIRE house top to bottom, INCLUDING his mother’s room/bathroom which he KNEW would legitimately traumatize him bc of what his mother would have in there, but he HAD to clean it or else he’d be driven crazy by it. So he,,,finally broke and went into her room and cleaned EVERYTHING she had and it was one of the worst things he had ever done in his life.

Or he’d have a crazy Korean beauty routine that was more expensive than he could actually afford and took him HOURS to do every night and morning to the point where he couldn't get any sleep bc if he didn’t do it his face was Dirty. Or when he gets stressed he gets acne, but acne makes him stressed, and acne = Dirty Face = MORE CLEANING where he’s basically BOILING his skin trying to get it Off and just harming himself at the end of it all

Or he picks at his nails when he’s stressed but will end up causing his nailbeds to bleed from messing w/ them too much

General Opinion over said character: I don’t get ppl who just say “get rid of cartman!!!” in terms of sp like YEAH you can hate him bc he’s an awful person but he’s also like,,,,,basically a representation of the whole ass show? He’s offensive and disgusting and AWFUL on the surface but also has some depth to him thats fun to think abt, like YES you can totally hate him but dont treat him like hes the One Bad Character in sp bc theyre all assholes and thats the point bc that the kinda show sp is.
