Oof I know my answer will definitely piss some people off, but I’m tired of fandom complaining who is in what position. I’m very much a versatile individual and not one position is superior to the other sex is sex. Doesn’t matter who’s on Top on who’s on Bottom, for myself, as long as the art/fic is good there’s no use of getting into arguments about it, or deeming one better than the other.

the character everyone gets wrong: just so I don't repeat myself and say maxie again (although it is. very tempting.) I'm gonna say medic tf2. I have no idea how it's possible to mischaracterize such an incredibly simple character but they do! it's incredible! the number of takes I've seen with him being some tiny little pathetic twink are impressively numerous. and ig it's apparently very easy to lose sight of his goofiness when trying to write a more in-depth character study of him which I totally get but trying to make him angsty (either overly sad/needy or overly grouchy or evil or, yes, overly pointlessly sadistic) just doesn't feel right or appeal to me at all

#he's just some girl yk #let him be a little crazy it's good for the health #it's possible to write a character who is a little a crazy and is a serious and meaningful character at the same time #so it's also annoying when ppl make him too a little a crazy #sniper tf2 also perpetuates this but worse. The character everyone gets wrong? And NOT choose Kiyoi? Damn XD well ... Tin and Mim from the Player. I still remember the fandom hating on both for making bad decisions? And hating Mim because she tried to take revenge on the people who'd hurt her without a second thought? And Tin for caring about his friend/love and also following actual leads of rich, criminal bastards (yes he had personal reasons but he still followed LEADS). No, I am not grumpy, still lol

7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because of how the fandom acts about them? Oof ... ehm ... Alan from mlc? Like, I didn't like his character anyway but he wasn't necessarily the worst guy (wait, he stalked Wen and Jim and flirted with a customer - scratch that, he's an ass) but when fandom came and felt for him and thought he was sooooo romantic and sweet? YIKES. Nope, no, thank you, made him even WORSE!

23. A ship you've unwillingly come around to? Okay, barely anyone will know them but Emre and Leyla? They're from the Turkish show Erkenci Kus and at first they were the worst because he was a horrible person and she was into her boss and too good for him. And THEN they made this man have a good redemption arc and made him actually fall for her, suffer and THEN work for it and aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

as for your "friends, classmates, colleagues and neighbors" -- they are living on occupied land. land that was taken by force through ethnic cleansing. they can leave at any time-- most of them have already, fleeing back to their home countries with their dual citizenships, or theyre safely sitting in hotels waiting for it to be over. they are settlers. they are part of the settler colony that is actively oppressing, dispossessing, and murdering Palestinians. and to be clear, that post you're talking about is not "celebrating civilian deaths," you are just purposefully misrepresenting it here to further dehumanize Palestinians and depict them as "terrorists." of course i do not want civilians to die. no one wants that. i feel for the Israeli people, the children & the ones who cannot leave. but at least they are allowed to be people, they are allowed to be friends, classmates, colleagues, neighbors. 12 (the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them): okay so there's a difference between an unpopular character who's unpopular because they're obscure and an unpopular character who's unpopular because people Actively Dislike Them and while there are a lot of popular characters I dislike for various reasons I don't think there are actually that many disliked characters I frequently argue in favour for (since most of the time I curate my experience so I only rlly run into other character likers). I guess I'd say rarity from mlp counts? she's not unpopular by any stretch but I don't see many ppl whose Favourite horse is rarity. I loved her tho she was my girl and I liked how she performed femininity in a way that made it seem enjoyable

19 (you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...): red from pokemon. yes I KNOW he's everyone's favourite I KNOWWWWW he's the gen 1 protagonist and the perfect precious baby of the entire pokemon franchise I know he's the Star Of The Show and the pokemon company never ever lets go of him but consider: he is also my specialest baby boy ever and I love him

20 (part of canon you found tedious or boring): ngl I can't think of any examples off the top of my head but full disclosure my biggest gripe with the pokemon franchise is that all the characters' dialogue is kind of. nothing. it's bad. they're bland and while they have a couple of amusing moments at best it all just feels so plastic. it's even worse in the newer games bc all the models just perform the same snippets of animations over and over again it's just. bleh. I don't like the dialogue in a lot of games but pokemon's had it rough
