The Harker (my star trek oc ship) crew and other details

First Officer, Commander Ajeet Singh: Born on Earth (Naniamo Canada). Joined Starfleet with a group of his friends, though rose through the ranks faster then the others. Thoughtful, though with a strong sense of conviction once his mind is made up. Was a security officer on the same exploration vessel that Markus Stonewall (now captain of the Harker) was an engineer on, and credits Stonewall with their shared survival during "The Incident". (cis dude he/him)

Security Chief Freyja Zhou: Klingon Trans Lady born on a backwater colony, she joined the Federation where no one would know her old self. She met her wife Victora Zhou at Starfleet Academy, and the two were assigned together across different services, with the Harker being their latest (though they consider the Harker their long term home). Freyja applying her skills as the "Master of Slaying" while Victoria is chief medical officer.

Medical Officer Victoria Zhou: Born NYC Earth, she joined starfleet to escape her birth family and found a new one with Freyja and the Harker. A masterful medic and accomplished scientist, the various supernatural threats that assail their crew are nothing for her talents. (butch lesbian they/she)

Science Officer Zack: A Vulcan Criminal who found peace/redemption on the Harker. Able to fight and study the Weird Threats the Harker find themselves against with similar ease. (nonbinary they/them)

Multi-Role Officer Steve Clever: A nonbinary Ferengi who joined Starfleet early in life, and applies zer talents in Creative ways. Often acts as infiltrator, playing the role of Ferengi merchant to knock on the door of suspected cult facilities and get a first look. (ze/zer nonbinary)

The Harker: Named after the Dracula characters, the Harker is an advanced (though small) Starfleet vessel designed for investigation. Lacking some facilities of similar ships of it's size (No Holodeck, smaller crew), it possesses an array of advanced scanning tech and some Creative Weapons (just in case).

It is part of a Federation initiative to investigate suspected Cults and other "New Religious" and Supernatural instances across the Space.

Markus Stonewall, Captain of the Harker: Formerly Engineer of the lost exploration ship "Erikson", Stonewall is a haunted man. The son of a Starfleet Captain, was bouncing between ships since he was a boy. Was able to rescue a small number of the Erikson's ship before it was lost in the "Incident" (including Ajeet), considers it his mission to rescue others from similar fates. (cis dude he/him)

Has a habit of smithing swords and crafting other weapons when bored or anxious.

Writer Q&A tag game

Thank you so much @vintagecivet for the tag! I took my time coming around to this, but I've been a bit inactive and I wanted to this justice and give it the attention it deserves.

What motivates you to write? A lot of things! I get motivated when I remember a piece I wrote ages ago, I get very motivated by reading! Also the daydreams. The daydreams keep yelling to be put on paper so. Yeah. The fact that writing has been the one constant in my life that I've never grown tired of, afraid of, or demotivated by, even during my worst writers' blocks, definitely contributes. I give back to writing what writing gives to me.

A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them) I'll do both! For my own piece - I'm extremely proud of my prose poetry collection and my first and currently only completed piece of work, "The Little Flower Shop". He himself smells of burnt wood from the north, with hints of the southern spices and western perfumes. He enthralls me with stories of ships that sailed past the edge of the world and days spent in the wilderness. - Querencia, The Little Flower Shop For a work I love: I want you to know one thing. Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like? Maya Mahato! She is my OC for the one fantasy WIP that I have, set in a small Indian village nestled in the Himalayas. She is an charming young woman, with her eyes wide open and always looking for the magic of her little village in the big cities she goes to. She has a thirst for learning, often overworks herself, and prefers reading over getting an adequate amount of sleep. She hates tea with milk, but herbal and green teas are okay. Coffee is her new elixir of choice, something she discovered only after leaving home for college. She is the apple of her grandfather's eye, and often scandalizes her grandmother with the skills she decides to pursue. She pretends to hate dancing, but that's only because she never had anyone to teach her. And her favourite time of the day is dawn, right before the sun rises.

What process of writing do you enjoy the most? The daydreaming stage? I love the ideation of stories. That's the time when I don't have to worry about loopholes, family relations, geographies or literally anything that requires brain power. I can just happily think up whatever I want to - fitting them all together is a problem for future me.

What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay) Ideation? XD I think I'm really good at writing banter and dialogues. Something about people talking has always clicked easier for me than figuring out how the think and act.

What is something in the writeblr community that is the most enjoyable? How nice people are. (At least the corner I'm in?) They're always up for a chat, interacting with posts, cheering you on and sending fun games my way to break up the monotonity of life. It's lovely to be a part of.

A writing device/tool you use that helps you write? A writer's notebook. It's something I learnt about a couple of years ago and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's what gets me out of my deepest trenches of writers' block. It's a notebook that has EVERYTHING. Half-cooked ideas, random dialogues that sound cool, a quick sketch of an OC or the map of a city, small scenes - anything and everything that I create or think of, all in one place.

A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc.) My towns. I put too much time into them, but they're very fun to create, and I end up with elaborate maps and very pretty looking places (in thought, I haven't tried recreating them on paper or screen)

What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch? Breathe. Leave your desk. Go get food, water, take a walk, listen to music. You need breaks, and so does your muse. It doesn't make you any less of a writer. Come back when you're ready.

Barney Stintson: Deviant, Accidental, Cephalist. Main power is superhuman attribute manipulation and presence, along with pheromones and memory thief. He does have regular contact with other New York Deviants (Victoria is one and Ted doesn't know) and tries to help them as much as he can.

Lily Aldrin: Mastigos Silver Ladder (or Obirmos but I like my hellions more than my angels soooo). Primarily focuses on mind magic to soothe her kindergarteners, check that their parents are fit to raise them, and grease the wheels of her art deals. Her spaces magic is devoted to storing all of her stuff sufficiently and make their New York apartment more accommodating of Marshall's size.

Marshall Erikson: Wolf-blooded, never had his first change. Two tells: A Wolf's Meat and Piercing Eyes. Meaning he heals like a changed wolf and sees spirits but can't shift and doesn't suffer the silver bane. His whole family are Uratha or Wolfblooded and "what" Marvin and Daisy become remains to be seen.

Ted Mosby: Changeling, Fairest, Artist, Spring Court with Autumn Goodwill. Ted is not a healer Spring. No, Ted is an ambassador, a socialite, and sometimes a spy. He was king for one season and no one is keen to try it again. He built palaces in Arcadia and can't shake the urge in the Ash.

Robin Scherbotsky: Werewolf, Cahalith, Iron Master. Former Pure tribe; her father is a Predator King and her mother is Wolf-blooded. She serves her protectorate (which Marshall was denied entry to based on his mage wife) by keeping supernatural news off the air and sniffing up leads weeks ahead of the others.

256) United Patriots Front, Front Zjednoczonych Patriotów (UPF) - australijska skrajnie prawicową grupa ekstremistyczna, sprzeciwiała się imigracji, wielokulturowości i religii islamu. Utworzona w 2015 roku grupa była w dużej mierze uśpiona, odkąd ich strona na Facebooku została usunięta po strzelaninie w meczecie w Christchurch w 2019 roku. Z siedzibą w stanie Victoria, UPF była grupą nacjonalistyczną, która powstała po schizmie w grupie anty-Islamic Reclaim Australia. Grupa została opisana przez wiele mediów i dziennikarzy jako grupa nienawiści. Grupa miała również program antysemicki, a kilku członków było neonazistami. W 2015 roku jej przywódcy dyskutowali o żydowskich teoriach spiskowych, a Neil Erikson stwierdził, że „Moim osobistym zdaniem trzymaj się muzułmańskiego gówna i marksizmu kulturowego, aby uzyskać maksymalne wsparcie, zrób Żydów później. Nie musisz pokazywać pełnej ręki”. Blair Cottrell odpowiedział, że takie było również jego „obecne podejście. Przygotowanie problemu żydowskiego zajmie lata. W październiku Blair Cottrell zastąpił Burgessa na stanowisku przewodniczącego United Patriots Front. W październiku grupa ścięła głowę manekina przed salami Rady Miejskiej Bendigo, aby zaprotestować przeciwko strzelaninie w Parramatcie w 2015 roku i zatwierdzeniu budowy meczetu w Bendigo. Przywódca lokalnej grupy anty-meczetowej odłączył się od UPF.
