i wanted to scribble out some notes about dragon boat for today, although this definitely looks at it from more a competiton perspective than a cultural one. ofc there's a lot more that could be said and most of this came from the top of my head so it's by no means comprehensive, but hopefully this coule be a little introduction at least haha.

A papercraft commission for a friend of her dragon boating instructor (hence the paddles) with his family! As SOON as my friend told me what she wanted, I dived for the paper stash under my bed (a lot of my papers are too big for me to keep them anywhere else) and pulled out my dragon-patterned paper. I almost never get a chance to use it! Perfect opportunity! And I later heard from my friend that the family particularly liked that paper when they received their gift. Huzzah! :D

Went to the Delaware River Festival today, and rode in a petal powered boat...great fun but also a work out, first in line I wanted to pick the dragon but so did the little boy behind me...so I let him have the dragon afterall I could look at it better if I wasn't in it. So my daughter and I rode a swan...last photo is our view of our boat from the boat.

If you want another plush to add to your collection, searching for something to guard the back windshield of your car or are just looking for a gift to gift someone else, please consider making a donation of $50 or more for my trip to represent the United States with my home team, San Francisco Dragon Warriors, for this year's Club Crew World Championships in Italy this summer. If you donate incrementally, I keep track of donations made per person and if they accrue up to $50 before August, you will get a turtle. :)

You can also commission me to make a custom colored turtle with a donation of $75+. I only ask that you please allot a few days lead time for procurement of materials and knitting time. :)
