I’m sure the scouts in your life haven’t let you forget, but just in case you’ve been busy with the berry harvest this week please remember that this Saturday and Sunday is the Valley Scouts Bake Sale. We ask that parents only take a helping role in the baking of sweet treats and allow your Valley Scouts to take the lead! All scouts who participate this weekend will receive their ‘Bakers Dozen’ badge. There will be savory foods, small crafts, and a rotating cast of live musicians throughout the weekend too. Just some screenies from my gameplay today. Things that happened: Kit decided to channel his inner cowboy and looked damn good doing it I think, Kano and Scout grew very friendly, they like to chat a lot, Kit and Sebastian decided to get in some cuddle time in between Kit looking after all the cows, chickens, ducks, mini goats, mini sheep horse, dog, cat, bees and bugs, and finally Scout apparently decided that since he was family, he was also people too and entered the house like a good boy. XD

Who were looking at him like he was fresh meat in the pig pen. “Yall are kids though?” He asked, he knew damn well preteens could beat his ass. Mikey had done just that when he was younger. “And you’re about to be dead meat.” Bonnie said, brandishing her spiked ladle. Leo blinked, “Wait why do they get weapons?” Casey ignored him as she shouted, “One two three begin!!!” With a loud war cry, the children jumped Leon. Poor guy didn’t even get a chance to scream before he was bombarded with surprisingly well coordinated attacks.

Commissions Open // Job Update :(

Unfortunately, it’s really seeming like I won’t be able to work this winter. The job I do outside of commissions is screen printing and we aren’t a big company. We’re a small Michigan business. If there isn’t anything going on (i.e., local events, sports, concerts, etc.) we don’t have work. I’m not the owner I’m just an employee so I work even less.

For November, I need $120 for rent. I made a deal with my landlord explaining my situation and I don’t have to pay my entire rent next month so December will be easy - it’s just a matter of making it through November.

Valley Scout Sonic AU

A “Sonic gets found earlier” AU, though the what it comes from it not being Tom or Maddie that finds him, or any other adult resident of the town. Oh no, it’s the local Green Hills scout troop, the Valley Scouts!

The Valley Scouts are neither Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts, but rather the two combined! The Valley Scouts are more a glorified daycare service for parents of elementary schoolers and early middle schoolers, but helps to teach kids survival skills as well as is a way to raise money for local businesses.

During a camping trip, a bear crashed the nature hike, chasing the terrified scouts! A ten year old Sonic was able to safely lead the bear away, where it was tranquilized and taken to a nature reserve. (An investigation had been launched as to how exactly a bear ended up in the wilderness surrounding Green Hills, since while it’s not unusual to find a grizzly in Montana, they’re not usually found anywhere near Green Hills and its surrounding campgrounds. It turned out that there’d been some hunters who had chased the bear, but gave up the hunt when they lost track of it. They were caught a few towns over, and arrested since it’s illegal to hunt grizzly bears outside of Alaska and Yukon, and beyond that, the hunters didn’t even have a license to hunt in the state of Montana!)

Nobody was hurt thankfully, though the kids were traumatized by their brush with death. They all came together to talk about it, and realized something was amiss when each talked about seeing bright blue. And while Montana does have blue jays, it was too big a blue blur - which led them to thinking that there was something to Crazy Carl’s talk about the Blue Devil after all.

The kids made a plan for a few weeks later to check it out for themselves later on at night, a few weeks later because as if they’d go back to the forest so soon after what happened!

They went out and found tracks that looked like a kid’s, but the tracks were too new to be any of theirs since one, any that they made from that fiasco of a camping trip would’ve been destroyed by the woodland critters - tiny animals that they didn’t have to worry about - and rain, and two, the shoe prints seemed a bit smaller than the middle schoolers.

They tracked the tracks to a cave, where they found what looked like a secret base. They explored it a bit, finding a collection of Flash comics that made a few of the kids envious, a broken washing machine that made them confused since how could anybody do laundry there? And a ping pong table that also made them wonder why it was there since it took two to play?

This is what Sonic, who had gone on a late night run, came back to find in his cave. It was lucky that his cave was situated so far out enough that the ensuing screams of both him and the kids wouldn’t have been heard by the town.

Once everybody was calm, the kids had gone from surprised to shocked to curious, much to Sonic’s own surprise. When they called him the Blue Devil, he was bashful to admit yeah, that’s him.

It didn’t take any time for the kids to realize Sonic had been the one to save them, to which they thanked him, and he told them that he couldn’t leave anybody in danger. One called him a superhero, to which made Sonic embarrassed but happy.

The kids and Sonic later talked, considering that they had some time to kill anyways. They learned he’d been out there for a long time, but had been keeping an eye around town. When asked why he didn’t show up to anybody, Sonic admitted he didn’t know how that would go over. He wanted to, but he was told not to trust others. When asked who gave him that advice, he shut down. The kids quickly understood since it wasn’t unusual for a loved one to pass and most everyone in town to mourn, since Green Hills was such a tight-knit community.

The kids made a vow between each other to help Sonic, since he helped them. Since they knew about him, they kept an eye out for him in town, spotting him easily. When they would hang out just the kids, they’d invite him to hang out with them. Games were so much more fun with an actual speedster around!

The Valley Scouts always made a habit of sticking together, as if they’d leave Sonic, who they all agreed was an honorary member since he saved them, so when they found him in his cave badly sick one day … of course they’d stick with him and help him recover! Leading to one particular vet finding out the big secret of the Green Hills Valley Scouts …
