Eagle Logan my beloved 🩵 I can so see him being hesitant to make friends on the grid because people tend to view his patron negatively thinking that Logan will hurt others
Meanwhile Oscar is decidedly more approachable because being around him probably gives people good dreams or cures insomnia, but he just likes hanging with his boyfriend and napping
okay this is a great point bc some people's gods have prey animals as symbols, FOR EXAMPLE, baby koalas are hunted by eagles and other birds of prey
so i have this idea that when they first met, baby!oscar heard about a bird of prey kid and was like 😰 but then baby!logan was literally
Tumblr media
so yeah, when they're kids people are definitely more nervous to approach him, but i think by f1 it's more of an expected thing bc a lot of f1 drivers have gods w/ predator symbols (eg: max+lion, daniel+honey badger)
oscar, i think he would be v approachable bc he's kind of like a good luck charm? you're more likely to achieve your dreams around a kid of dreams, yk? but also people get tired/lethargic when they're around him which isn't always great right before a race. so most of the time he's alone right before a race bc the sleepy/calm vibe works for him but not for others

Hi there. Hello.
So, I love Death Battle. A lot. It's by far one of my favorite webshows, and like a lot of fans, there are plenty of matchups that I would give my left nut to see them tackle. So, I am officially using this blog that I'm sure nobody cares about to make my official
TOP 16 MOST WANTED MATCHUPS
as of 2023 at least. These are going to be ordered from least wanted (but still great) to most wanted, and I'll give my overall thoughts on what I'd want and why I'd think it'll be cool to see, as well as the connections and a potential track name. All thumbnails were made by me, let's go.
Tumblr media
#16: Locus vs Din Djarin (Red v Blue vs Star Wars)
Connections: Two ruthless bounty hunters who rarely show their faces who were originally not interested in forming relationships with anyone, just acting as killers. That was, until they met someone who needed help protecting and had a change of heart, turning over a new leaf.
Potential Track Name: Beskars of the Past
I know what you're thinking: "Isn't this just Boba Fett vs Predator 2: Electric Boogaloo?" While yes, these two are similar to Boba and John Yautja, there's plenty in this matchup to give this a different feeling than that episode had. You can have actual banter between these two that doesn't rely on forced movie quotes, higher stakes if the animation is set up like Locus is hunting Grogu, and there's more interesting weapons that can be used, like Locus' shield and Din's rifle. For this matchup, I'd say give Din the Darksaber, only because a final battle between that and the Great Key would be really cool, having Din use a stronger weapon than the key, but one he's not at all skilled with. There's more than enough here to make this a solid spiritual successor to Boba's three episodes without bringing him back.
Tumblr media
#15: Old Man Logan vs The Last Ronin (Marvel vs TMNT)
Connections: Older, more jaded versions of classic comic book heroes, jaded by experiencing the loss of most people in their lives and being forced to keep on living due to specific mutations in their bodies.
Potential Track Name: You've Changed, Man
This is among the most highly requested TMNT matchups, and for good reason. There's just enough different with this matchup that makes it a really solid and debatable version of Wolverine vs Raphael. You can do so much with the storytelling here, too. I'd personally like if the two knew of each other as the Wolverine and Michelangelo, so that both of them can have that moment where they're shell-shocked (haha) by who it is they're really fighting. There can be a moment where Logan's claws don't come out fully and he needs to force them up with his hands, to Mikey's confusion, or there can be a moment where Mikey acts way more brutal than his cartoon counterpart, to Logan's confusion. It'll be a nice way to differentiate between the two and add some storytelling and emotional elements to this script.
Tumblr media
#14: Ghost Rider vs Spawn (Marvel vs ...)
Connections: Edgy comic book anti-heroes who were orginally ordinary men who made a deal with the Devil (or devil-adjacent) to become hellspawns at the cost of their servitude, using chains and guns to deliver their version of justice. Eventually they unseated the Devil and became the ruler of Hell. Also, it's an angel vs demon fight.
Potential Track Name: Chained to Hell
I don't even know what to say about this. It's the most basic bitch answer to anyone's favorite Marvel matchup. Both Rider and Spawn deserve a runback due to how much content that wasn't used in their episodes and how long ago they were, and both have plenty of weapons and abilities they can use to make this fight interesting. Out of all the matchups on this list, this actually has a chance of happening this season, given how people said that they pentagram in the cipher was teasing this. I hope they're correct, but I wouldn't be mad either way.
Tumblr media
#13: Jimmy Hopkins vs Karma Akabane (Bully vs Assassination Classroom)
Connections: Two delinquent children with a long history of violence who came into a new classroom ready to cause trouble, only for them to learn the error of their ways and be on the paths for forging something else out of their lives, changing up their school's entire social hierarchy.
Potential Track Name: Juvenile Justice
I fucking love both Bully and Assassination Classroom. While other matchups like Jimmy vs Yandere-Chan or Koro-Sensei vs Monokuma work, I don't know, there's just something about this matchup that hits for me. I really like the idea of these two talking trash to each other the entire animation, both of them pulling out their non-lethal weapons like stink bombs and BB guns, and running around the Bullworth campus avoiding getting caught by prefects and teachers. I also really like the dynamic of Jimmy being more physical and using his guns while Karma is way more strategic, using his advanced training to get ahead. I don't know why, but I really like this matchup. It would be so fun to see play out.
Tumblr media
#12: Elliot Dunkel vs Guy Hamdom (El Goonish Shive vs She-Zow)
Connections: Two teenage boys who can transform into female superheroes, originally dreading this until learning that they had a mission to protect their small towns.
Potential Track Name: She's a Superhero!
Despite the gimmicky nature of this matchup at first glance, there's a lot more to it. You can have the fight start out with both of them in their base form, where Elliot has the advantage due to his Anime-Style Martial Arts training, until Guy turns into She-Zow and forces Elliot to transform as well. I'd love if we get a brief fight with Elliot as his cat form before he turns into Cheerleadra, but I'd understand if that's too much. Speaking of too much, She-Zow has a lot of weapons and abilities at their disposal. To name a few, there's a Boomerang Brush, Lipstick Laser, Shrink Ray, Vanishing Cream, she can wink so hard she creates gusts of wind, she can make her fist grow bigger, and she can even do a Sailor Moon-esque sonic shriek. I'd love to see She-Zow bust out all of these weapons, only for Cheerleadra to just brute-force her way through all of them. Despite Elliot's obscurity and She-Zow's problematic writing, I still think this matchup is worth doing. Just don't watch the show She-Zow's based on, it's not very good. I just wanted a good matchup for my boy Elliot.
Tumblr media
#11: Ridley vs Vile (Metroid vs Mega Man)
Connections: Villains from classic NES/SNES series with purple motifs and cybernetic enhancements that have a personal vendetta against the protagonist of their series, who they fought and almost killed on multiple occasions if not for an outside force messing with them.
Potential Track Name: Ride for Revenge
I know there's a lot of debate over who Ridley should fight, with some people saying Rayquaza and others saying Vilgax, but I personally think Vile is the best option for him. Both have great potential for banter and some cool exchanges, like a beam struggle or Vile busting out all the Ride armors to compete with Ridley physically. The big question is if Ridley would have his cybernetics or not. I'd vote yes, but only so that you can have Ridley start the fight with his full enhancements to lose them as the fight progresses, mimicking how he progresses in canon and to simulate battle damage on him. Plus, I'd love for the fight to start out like Vile is investigating a planet when Ridley starts picking off his crew one by one, similar to how he does in his Smash Bros. trailer. Metroid and Mega Man are franchises I've gained more and more appreciation for, and this matchup would be so cool to see.
Tumblr media
#10: Yor Forger vs Beatrix Kiddo (SpyxFamily vs Kill Bill)
Connections: Two fake brides who are secretly assassins that specialize in blades.
Potential Track Name: Newlydead
I again don't have much to say about this other than "it's fucking cool." Yes, it's a complete stomp in Yor's favor, yes Beatrix only has 2 movies to work with, and yes, this is a street-tier fight between who people with not a lot of weapons to work with, but I don't care. This is the female version of Bond vs Wick, what's not to like? Yor is one of my favorite anime characters, and Kill Bill is a movie I love to death, so seeing them both be covered would be awesome. Plus, there's plenty of potential for cool moments, like both of them pushing through lethal wounds to keep fighting. In particular, I would like Beatrix to land the heart-exploding technique on Yor, but have her keep going to show how resilient she can be. Really, this can just be a cool ass sword fight and nothing else and I'd be happy.
Tumblr media
#9: William Afton vs Junko Enoshima (Five Nights at Freddy's vs Danganronpa)
Connections: Main antagonists of their series who were behind most of the events that happened, using robot bears to kill children.
Potential Track Name: Remnants of Despair
I know, I know, lot of negative feelings towards this matchup. While I get the criticisms, I think there's plenty here to make for a great episode. Junko can take control of the Monokumas and have those protect her, as well as having plenty of weapons on her own and Alter Ego Junko. William, meanwhile, has the springlock crank, a fucking gun, a time-travelling ball pit, hallucinatory disks, and an ai alter ego of his own (I know it's technically an ai reconstruction of him, but shush). Plus, you can have major moments in this animation where they both use their intellect to get one-ups over each other. I would love there to be a scene where William has Junko dead to rights, there is no escape for her, only for her to start laughing uncontrollably and say that she loves the despair she's feeling. The only problem I forsee is how they'll tackle the FNAF story, but that's easy to work around. I kinda get why this matchup is taken with such vitriol, but I still love it and would love to see it happen someday.
Tumblr media
#8: Kimiko Miyashiro vs Nezuko Kamado (The Boys vs Demon Slayer)
Connections: Ordinary girls who live in worlds where dangerous super-powered individuals run free that eventually became one of those individuals after their families where murdered. Due to their powers, they became extremely protective of their brothers and joined a team of people who stop the super-powered individuals, eventually falling in love with one of the members.
Potential Track Name: Josei no Seizon-Sha
This would honestly be just a better version of Mileena vs X-23. This would have to be a high-paced fight between two girls who brutally tear each other apart, only to quickly heal from these wounds and get right back into the fight 2 seconds later. There's so much potential for cool moments that you can focus on because these two don't say much. One scene I'd love to see is if Kimiko ripped a tree off its roots and pinned Nezuko's arm with it, only for Nezuko to rip her arm off to take a swing at her, regrowing the arm like it's nothing. This fight sounds way too cool to pass up and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Tumblr media
#7: Aragorn vs Jon Snow (Middle Earth vs Game of Thrones)
Connections: Literary rivalry between two human warrior kings in fantasy worlds.
Potential Track Name: A Song of Snow and Flames
I mean, duh, right? This has been a debate ever since both these series hit the mainstream, and not just in vs debating circles. You'd be shocked to know that I haven't watched Game of Thrones or read the original books, but I am a huge fan of the Middle Earth books and the LOTR movies, and Jon Snow is a character who interests me a lot. With the release of Sauron vs Lich King and Undead vs Dragonborn now making fantasy matchups actually cool and hip with the kids, I forsee that this will at least be in consideration for future season of the show. It's not particularly close, but it's still rad as hell.
Tumblr media
#6: Raven vs Sailor Saturn (DC vs Sailor Moon)
Connections: Magical girls on teams of peacekeepers who are seen as misfits due to their past trauma with their abusive parents, but with the power of their friends, learned to overcome it and make their own destinies.
Potential Track Name: Titans of Silence
Raven was a character who meant a lot to me growing up, with me seeing a lot of myself in her, and the same can be said about Tomoe when I first watched Sailor Moon later on in life. Both perfectly straddle the line between cool as fuck and being genuine sympathetic characters; easily some of my favorites in their respective shows. So, imagine my joy when I realized that this matchup had plenty of great animation potential. Both have so many neat abilities they can use, it'll be cool to see them bounce off each other. Raven is a returning character, but her episode against Twilight mainly focused on emotion-manipulating magic. Here, you can focus on the more destructive side of Raven, perfectly in line with Tomoe being the guardian of silence and destruction. One scene that could perfectly exemplify this is a moment where Tomoe strikes her glaive on the ground, destroying the planet the fight is taking place on, forcing them both to fight on the bits of the exploding planet. This has a lot of potential, and I'm not alone in seeing it.
Tumblr media
#5: Pennywise vs Freddy Kreuger (It vs Nightmare on Elm Street)
Connections: Two demonic horror icons who create nightmares and feast on people's fears.
Potential Track Name: New Nightmares
I feel like out of every single matchup on this list, this has probably the most animation potential, since both of them can do pretty much anything they put their minds to. Despite the nature of their powers, they're not bound by a single person or by being specifically in dream realms, this animation can just be a fun, chaotic, terrifying fight between two reality warping demons. What I love about this matchup is that they both have so many ways to banter with each other and insult one another. Obviously verbal insults are on the table, but both can shapeshift into characters and people from each other's past. Pennywise can taunt Freddy as anybody from Elm Street, the people who killed him, or even Jason Vorhees as a cool reference, and Freddy can turn into any of the Loser's Club. I'd love if they turned into Wes Craven and Stephen King and pretended to be their creators renouncing their creations. This matchup is only bound by the crew's imaginations (and budgetary restraints), and I would love to see what they could come up with. Just don't turn this into Jason vs Michael 2 and have it be about Jane Shlane.
Tumblr media
#4: Henry vs The Second Coming vs Red vs Fancy Pants Man (Henry Stickmin vs Animator v Animation vs Dick Figures vs Fancy Pants Adventures)
Connections: Four stick figure characters who were pioneers of their specific genre in the world of internet animation and Flash games.
Potential Track Name: Stick it to 'Em
Yes, I'm using the name that Brandon Yates used is his track for this matchup, bite me. As for the reason I want this matchup to happen it's simple: I think it'd be really cool. I loved stick figure animations and games growing up. I spent probably all of middle school thinking about the cool animator vs animation episode that I watched or the funny things that happened in Dick Figures and Henry Stickmin, and I only just now got around to playing the Fancy Pants Adventure games, but they're still really good! I love all of these characters, so why not have them kill each other? And yes, The Second Coming is the AvA rep because he has more to work with than anyone else. Speaking of, the animation potential for this matchup is through the roof. Henry and Red have so many weapons to pull from, and TSC and Fancy Pants Man can interact with the environment in so many cool and creative ways that they're bound to be tons of cool shit that happens. In terms of who wins; Fancy Pants is obviously the Volnutt here, Red isn't doing particularly much, but I've heard plenty of good arguments for either Henry or TSC. I'm personally leaning towards TSC, only because I want a death that involves a choice screen popping up like in the Henry Stickmin games, only for TSC to completely ignore that and stopping Henry from making the choice in the first place. This matchup has only gotten better with time, and I would love nothing more than this to be Death Battle's tribute to Flash animation.
Tumblr media
#3: Shuma-Gorath vs Starro the Conqueror (Marvel vs DC)
Connections: One-eyed alien conquerors based on starfish that can control people’s minds.
Potential Track Name: Seeing Stars
Look, I know Marvel vs DC matchups have gotten really stale ever since a certain season dropped during the pandemic, but a lot of those matchups can still be really creative. We got a glimpse of that with Ant-Man vs Atom and Wanda vs Zatanna, but Scarecrow vs Mysterio lends itself well to horror and trippy visuals, and matchups like Swamp-Thing vs Man-Thing and Dormammu vs Trigon can have the hosts explore the Marvel and DC cosmologies without seeming like huge undertakings. But for me, my personal favorite Marvel vs DC matchup is Starro vs Shuma. Both these 2 are some of my favorite villains in all of comic books, and I would love to see how high-scale Death Battle can make this matchup be. The tricky part here is getting their personalities down, since they both can oscillate between "goofy ridiculous golden age weirdos" and "lovecraftian horrors beyond comprehension." The way I'd handle it would be to have the fight start out as a campy kaiju fight between giant starfish that gradually escalates beyond the plane of reality, taking the fight to the Nightmare Realm and beyond, with both of them becoming more etherial and horrifying as the fight progresses. I don't have much to say besides that. This is by far my favorite Marvel vs DC fight and one that I wouldn't complain about being the sort of farewell to that trope on Death Battle.
Tumblr media
#2: Nimona vs Grace Scuiridae (... vs El Goonish Shive)
Connections: Two shapeshifters who were demonized for their unnatural abilities. Both would be the target of capture for a major antagonist, meeting up with a mad scientist that they would soon grow attached to. Both can mold their bodies into whatever form they wish and both desired to go down opposite paths; Nimona wanted to become a villain and Grace wanted to become a hero. Eventually, both Nimona and Grace would end up confronting the people who tortured them all that time ago and face off against them, showing off a powerful rage-induced form that they would get lost in until one of their friends helped them calm down.
Potential Track Name: Shady Shapeshifters
I think I'm the only person on the planet to ever conceive of this matchup, but fuck it. Nimona and El Goonish Shive are two of my favorite webcomics of all time, with the movie adaptation of Nimona being my second most anticipated film of this year (second to Spider-Verse, but still). So, once I saw the similarities between these two, I fell in love with this matchup. As much as I would love to see how Death Battle tackles the stories of Nimona and EGS, it's the animation and writing that excites me the most. The start honestly writes itself; Nimona starts some shit in Moperville, Grace goes to stop her. Easy peasy. But it's the rest of the fight choreography and writing that I think could make this something special. Nimona and Grace have such different ways of shapeshifting, so it'll be cool to see Nimona's rapid beastial shapeshifting contrast with Grace adapting her own body to counter what Nimona's doing. You can have Nimona breath fire at Grace and be confused as to why she seems completely fine (since Grace's fur is fireproof), you can have a moment where they both transform into squirrels and awkwardly scratch at each other in the trees, you can even have an exchange where they're talking about their geneology and Nimona says "I'm a shark!" and Grace replies "Well, did I mention I'm part space alien?" Speaking of the writing, you can have a sort of narrative follow the fight, where Grace tries her best to pacify Nimona, who keeps getting frustrated that Grace isn't really taking the fight seriously. Then when Grace accidentally triggers Nimona's trauma from their past and/or calls them a monster, Nimona goes berserk and starts destroying Moperville (either the comic dragon or the film beast works for me, but I prefer the dragon). Then Grace looks at all the destruction they're causing to her home and starts getting mad too, transforming into her berserker form like she did against Damien. I imagine that the kill would be an accidental one where the winner starts getting emotional while the loser comforts them as they're dying. Even though there's one matchup I love more than this, given how obscure these two are in the realm of versus, this would get a much bigger reaction out of me. Speaking of a matchup I love more...
Tumblr media
#1: Percy Jackson vs Zagreus (... vs Hades)
Connections: Two sons of one of the "Big Three" gods , who have massive daddy issues due in part to them being lied to about their parents. They eventually embark on a quest where they need to go in and out of Tartarus to see their biological mothers. Both have been trained by famous Ancient Greek heroes, both have had weapons and abilities passed onto them from the Olympian Gods, and both have connections to Achilles.
Potential Track Name: Thicker Than Water
I know what you're thinking: "What about Percy vs Harry Potter? Or Pit vs Zag?" While I think Pit is a fine opponent for Zagreus, I am not a big fan of Harry vs Percy for a lot of reasons. I won't get into them now, but I'm kind of over Harry Potter as a franchise at the moment. Hades, on the other hand is my favorite game of all time and Percy is my favorite fictional character of all time, so imagine how shocked I was that nobody else was really suggesting this matchup even though it would be really fucking cool to see. Now, there's not really much in terms of connections (more than Korra and Storm had tho :P) but where this matchup shines is the animation potential. Both Percy and Zag have so many weapons and abilities to bounce off each other, it might shock people to learn that Percy isn't just water bender man. He can shake the earth, create storms, and he has a javelin that can fire nets. I would love to see Zagreus use Hestia's boons to create wind vortexes and have Percy create a small storm to counter it, or have Percy use the water created in Poseidon's calling to whip Zagreus around. Obviously the fight would take place in Tartarus or Zagreus can't stand a chance, but I would love if the end took place near the surface world like the final boss does in the game. Hell, I think an appropriate way to start the fight would be to have Percy beon a mission from Hades himself to stop Zag from reaching the surface world. Oh, and the banter here would be awesome to hear; they're basically the same in terms of personality and how they talk. I can go on about this matchup for days, but just know that this is my favorite matchup of all time and I would love love love if Death Battle (or any vs show really) tackled this.
Not gonna happen tho :/

Also I get why Remus was interested in experimenting with V. "So you were raised by the og monsters and embody fear huh? Kinky." But why did V accept? Rebound? Or was Remus the only one interested with the guts to ask? Was he stil demi at the time or had he received full godhood already?
Does Remus kiss and tell? And if he does did anyone believe that he 'tapped that'?
Part rebound, part Remus is just as charming as his brother he's just weird af and kooky. And he absolutely does kiss and tell but no one believed him, being a demigod at the time
Janus would believe him, because why would he lie about that. Logan knows it's true. Logan regrets being all knowing. Logan did not think Remus was that flexible.

;the belle
real name: Anna Marie Darkholme (known to only people it’s been revealed to)
codename/alias: Rogue
single or taken:  verse and thread dependent
abilities or powers: In any threads unless plotted differently, Rogue is post absorption of Carol Danvers and Wonder Man, meaning her canonical powers include- absorption of memory and emotions connected, life force, significant physical features if they do not appear as a normal human, and powers if present, abilities being absorbed for sixty times the amount of time she had skin contact. psyche absorption is permanent. flight. invulnerability. super strength- listed as class 100, limits presumably unknown. can see in the dark. some ultraviolet vision. resistance to most poisons and toxins. ionized cells prevent illness and aging, reduced need for oxygen. Knowledgeable in martial arts and hand to hand combat. Speaks fluent bayou French.
eye colour:  green
hair colour: auburn with a white streak in the front
family members: Owen, father, presumably deceased. Priscilla, mother, deceased. Carrie, aunt. Raven Darkholme, adoptive mother. Irene Adler, adoptive mother, deceased. Kurt Wagner, adoptive brother. Other non-biological family members, verse dependent.
pets: in v; parle moi sale- Spades, Remy’s black cat (who is still Salty™ Remy brought Rogue home to stay). Default Romy verse- Figaro, Lucifer, and Oliver, Remy’s cats. Other pets verse dependent.
hobbies/activities:  reading- majority fantasy, mystery, and sci-fi (escapism queen here, people), large piece count jigsaw puzzles but only with an audiobook playing or the quiet drives her nuts, knitting (that anxiety gotta go somewhere), swimming (clothing optional), horseback riding (western or bareback style only), drinking coffee (that IS an activity), stargazing, hiking, daydreaming, getting stuck in her head thinking of a million and one things that could go wrong, playing hide and go seek with things she just had because Object Permanence
animal that represents them: giant river otter- peaceful, family group animal, powerful, nearly apex predator, and will kill a person in defense of its cubs. Or like, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever- water loving, suspicious of  new people, protective, strong, lots of wavy hair, loyal af.
worst habits: heavy drinking (she can barely get drunk okay it just LOOKS bad), pulling at her gloves or sleeves, jumping to conclusions, pushing people away when they get close, doubting her self-worth and capabilities, blaming herself for true accidents, raging when feeling emotionally vulnerable or betrayed, thinking she’s unlovable and that all love besides the love she offers is only temporary, LOSING SHIT, forgetting to eat and then getting lightheaded for it (look I’m making the executive decision the canon is wrong and she still needs food and water).
role models: Ororo Munroe, Logan Howlett, Kurt, others verse dependent.
sexual orientation: pansexual, demiromantic (she’s not going to fuck you without feeling close to you, time unable to touch people be damned)
thoughts on marriage/kids: Craves it but does not easily trust that it will go smoothly or that she deserves good things. She wants very much to have both but she also views them as a giant oppurtunity for her to fuck something up, as she does so frequently in her mind. This is showed in canon with literal years of off and on relationship with Remy, working through trust and abandonment issues before she finally agrees to marry him. Unlike canon, my Rogue never changed her mind out of the blue AFTER being married, doesn’t matter what verse it is, she eventually would like kids. She might not ever bring it up, depending on the partner and their stance on kids as she would rather settle for a partner she loves, then have kids with someone who doesn’t want them, as she feels that was the situation with her birth mother. While she is very nuturing and loves kids, she just doesn’t quite trust herself not to fail with the rolemodels she had growing up, as well as always having in the back of her mind the what if she never gains and/or loses control.
style preferences: She has a very eclectic style. some days she might be in a sweater dress, leggings, and boots, others it’s jeans and a flannel shirt. Regardless of where she lives, she always has a least one bomber jacker and one leather jacket in her closet at all times. Gloves are still a staple, she ‘gets cold’ very easily- while it doesn’t affect her health and won’t get frostbite, she is still Aware of the cold and she doesn’t appreciate it. Card holding member of the leggings are pants club. Lots of greens, greys, blacks, and whites in her wardobe. Typically red and black, or green and white for the plaids. You might have a hard time finding much underwear...well, anywhere. She is not a fan.
approach to friendships: Sus of people getting too close initially but once they have gotten close enough to win some trust they have a friend for life. She considers friends family and will go feral protecting them. She is very prone to people going quiet out of nowhere as an indication they are no longer interested in her and she will not initiate contact without them saying something first. Any sort of perceived betrayal, especially something she would never do to someone, is taken as a serious affront and has potential for her to go cold as ice, and cut ties.
thoughts on pie: As long as it isn’t pumpkin or sweet potato (she cannot stand the texture and eggy aftertaste) or lemon meringue (again, texture, and the sour is too much), she is questioning why anyone doens’t love pie. Eat all the pie.
favourite place to spend time at: The country or the river. Places where you don’t have the smell and sound of civilization, the crowding . OR somewhere with her person. She will put up with the most polluted, noisy, crowded city because they are there so it’s worth it.
swim in the lake or in the ocean: Lake, but obviously only the cleaner kind. The ocean is too much of a run-off site. Even if she isn’t going to get sick from it, it’s the Principle.
their type: Someone that isn’t going to shrink when their exceptionally strong, extremely emotion driven, prone to getting Loud partner Loses It™, or thinks they’re not loved anymore, or is starting to get very angry. So while she very much requires someone that can be kind, affectionate, and okay with clingy (she TRIES not to, okay? She’s aware, she’s paranoid of it pushing people away), she also very much needs someone with a backbone, who can call her on her bullshit, and when needed can be a stabilizer, not toss gasoline on the flames. If that isn’t present, she won’t be able to consider them, aesthetically pleasing or no. She’s also very much an ‘eyes are the windows to the soul’ kind of person. If there isn’t a, for the lack of a better word, spark in them, she’s not interested.
camping or indoors: Depends on the day of the week, honestly. Sometimes you want to get away and have some campfire cooked food, and enjoy the crickets. Sometimes you want your goddamn bed and a hot ass shower with a microwave.

OOohh! Angy boy! That ship might sink. Now becuase of that other ask I'm wondering if a certain lord of the lies would be a ship owner, hhm🤔 Aslo them fangs? Niiice. Someone's gonna get it. The shape of his teeth got me interested though, they're not serrated like sharks, but can they regrow? The bottom fang looks sharp as all heck. Question, since V is a predator, is he territorial? Like the beach they meet on? Would he consider that his turf, cause that'd be cool and hella scary too.🐙
I cannot confirm nor deny anything. ;)
He can’t regrow teeth, he shed the baby teeth and now got them permanent chompers. That... that tooth it’s a little bit sharper than it should be. It should be slightly blunter, like the canines. Sketch is a little messy sorry. :,) He’s not territorial in the slightest. He migrates quite a bit so he doesn’t consider any area his. He’s more of a person claimer. Kinda. Remember his whale buddies? Yeah the orcas that knows about him do not go anywhere near them. They quietly nope out less they risk the wrath of a 210 ft mer. Even if he’s nowhere near. xD Same applies if Logan and Patton are in the water. Nothing goes near them unless Virge allows it. It’s a reason he hovers so close to them too. He protecc.

The Fool, Death, Temperance (for mun, and also Heather :3c)
☀️🌙✨ tarot questions ✨🌙☀️ ||| @icybreaths
the fool: do you have any nicknames?
I go by Eri, it’s not my real name, but it’s my preferred name. Other then that I don’t have any nicknames, though in High School I went by ED in the theatre club, as E and D were my first and middle initials. Though my college roommate did suggest that for a dark persona I could go by Eerie Lorewright, but funnily enough some people at my work do call me Eerie cause they don’t know how to pronounce Eri. I don’t mind the Eerie pronunciation as it give me a chuckle, but the other mispronunciations of my name is “R-Ee” when I pronoun it as “Air-Ee”
Heather//: Oh, I’ve got a ton of nicknames, Vincey Bear calls me Pooka, but sometimes calls me simple thing; not like he’s calling me simple like stupid, tho. And Heath calls her Sis. but I AM his sister so… maybe that not really a nick name… Logan calls me firecracker, Sparky, and fruit loop (But I gave her the a-ok to use that one) Rox calls her Pipsqueak and half pint, still warming up to those.. Levi calls me Tator Tot but he’s also started to call me Boss. Skid calls her Tweetie, I think cause of my yellow hair. Then Beeyel calls me Puck and Fun Size, which is rude. Ramiel calls me freak. And Sammy calls me the weirdest things- creepy things…. and I’m like the queen of creepy but gotta say what he says makes me uncomfy…
death: what are three things you want to do before you die?
Three things I’d like to do before I die, One, publish my writing. Two, I want to do something that earns me a place in the credit roll of a movie. Three, learn how to animate.
Heather//: Interesting, Gotta admit, I don’t really have huge goal from myself. After getting outta Glenbrooke I sorta just live everyday as if it would be my last. But I guess if I had to choose, Definitely want to commit the world’s BIGGEST heist with Vincent by my side. cause that be a dope ass legacy to leave behind. Arm-wrestle the top 27 most deadliest predators of the world. Also be a dope thing to have as a title. Then- prolly convince V Bear of his self worth- Like I know he know he got it, but like i don’t know I want him to see himself like i do, cause he really lets others’ stupid option of him get him down.
temperance: can you describe a strange dream you’ve had?
One of the weirdest and honestly scariest dreams I've had, I was out shopping with my sister and I was really upset with her. So my dad came to pick us up, but I refused to get in the car with my sister, I was so pissed. so instead I walked home thinking and hoping it would cool me off. But as I was walking it started to rain. When I finally got home, my sister was standing in the yard and started to taunt me about about having to walk home in the rain. And I got some mad I beat her into coma. I started to freak out when my mom came out and saw what I've down and simply said: "don't worry, you're on meds for that (my anger) now." And then I woke up.
Heather//:  I don't know... I really don't like talkin' bout my dreams besides with Vincent. their creepy and it leaaves me feeling really raw, having them ans talking bout 'em. They're like, either these gold tinted meremories of a life I don't think is my own or trauma filled horrors of what I was put through at Glenbrooke. Like being summerged in a tub of ice as I was getting that weird sappy serum pumped into me. The Doc always hoverin', spectating overhead. That horrible, awfuling feeling of constantly being under observation but completely alone. Utterly alone. And this miserible state of sub-human exist, reduced to being that lab rat, a play thing for this surgical mask-wearing creep, who sees the live and death of patients as a data point, nothing else.
Thanks for the ask @icybreaths, Hope you enjoyed finding out a little about me and a little bout Heather. You even started to breakdown Heather’s feral, crackhead persona with that dream question.

Every Movie I’ve Seen That Came Out This Decade
Now, I saw many of these films as they came out, but a lot of them I ended up watching years after the fact.  There are plenty of movies that came out this decade that I still want to watch but haven’t gotten around to yet (Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, Logan, etc)  And just because I have seem a movie doesn’t mean I liked it, nor that I even wanted to see it in the first place; there are many I wish I could unsee because they were a waste of 2 hours of my finite existence (Marmaduke, Hop, World War Z, most DC movies)
I’ve bolded my three favorites of each year; not necessarily the best films of their respective years, just the ones that I saw and liked the most.  As I add more titles to this list, I’m sure my preferences might change.  All of my choices are subjective, so I will explain and justify them as I go.
Let’s start at the very beginning (a very good place to start):
2010
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (February 2010)
Alice in Wonderland (March 2010)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (March 2010)
How to Train Your Dragon (March 2010)
Shrek Forever After (May 2010)
Marmaduke (June 2010)
The Karate Kid (June 2010)
Toy Story 3 (June 2010)
Despicable Me (July 2010)
Predators (July 2010)
Fred: The Movie (July 2010)
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (August 2010)
Piranha 3D (August 2010)
Saw 3D (October 2010)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (November 2010)
Tangled (November 2010)
Top 3: How to Train Your Dragon was phenomenal, I can’t recommend it enough.  Predators wasn’t super great, but it was fun, and I have a soft spot for the series because the original Predator is my dad’s favorite film.  Scott Pilgrim is hilarious; nuff said. Other Notes:  I was 12 going on 13 when the decade started, so I mostly watched kids movies.  I’ll probably go back and watch more as time goes on.  I loved the Lightning Thief book, but the movie sucked.  I tried out for Diary of a Wimpy Kid because they held auditions online (I lost, wa-waaa).  My first “date” was with a friend’s sister to see Shrek 4 (Good Lord was it awkward).  Toy Story 3 was fun, but not my favorite by any means.  Let’s pretend Fred never happened.  My dad took me to see Piranha 3D apropos of nothing (he never just says “hey, wanna see a movie tonight?”) and we ended up walking out thirty minutes in because he got offended by all the nudity (it’s a T&A movie)
2011
Rango (February 2011)
Rio (March 2011)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (March 2011)
Hop (April 2011)
Kung Fu Panda 2 (May 2011)
Mr. Popper’s Penguins (June 2011)
Cars 2 (June 2011)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (July 2011)
Final Destination 5 (August 2011)
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (August 2011)
Apollo 18 (September 2011)
The Thing (October 2011)
Top 3: Rise of the Planet of the Apes was really good, and Andy Serkis gave what might be one of his top 3 best mo-cap ape performances (he has had many).  Apollo 18 sucked, but was fun.  The Thing sucked, but the 1982 version is my favorite movie of all time, and I liked the potential this prequel had.  Please remember that this list is subjective as hell; these are by no means my favorite movies of all time, in fact many aren’t even particularly good, they’re just the ones I saw that I would go out of my way to watch again, for whatever reason. Other Notes: none of the other films this year really did anything for me.   only saw Hop because my friend invited me.  Cars 2 was hot garbage.  Mr. Popper’s Penguins was forgettable.  I didn’t much care for the Harry Potter movies after Goblet of Fire.  I like the first two and a half Final Destination movies (the first two were clever, I liked parts of 3, but 4 and 5 are terrible).
2012
The Lorax (March 2012)
21 Jump Street (March 2012)
The Hunger Games (March 2012)
Mirror Mirror (March 2012)
The Pirates! Band of Misfits (April 2012)
The Avengers (May 2012)
Men in Black 3 (May 2012)
Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (June 2012)
Brave (June 2012)
Ted (June 2012)
The Amazing Spider-Man (July 2012)
ParaNorman (August 2012)
Flight (November 2012)
Wreck-It Ralph (November 2012)
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (December 2012)
Top 3: I was delightfully surprised by The Avengers when it came out; it was the first MCU movie I saw, and I had no expectations going in.  It’s not GREAT, but it was fun, and probably the best of the series (I don’t care for Thanos and the expanded lore, I don’t read comics, I don’t want to watch them).  ParaNorman is awesome; Laika is awesome, they make awesome movies, moving on.  Flight was really good (I saw it for the first time just this August). Other Notes: Thank God I wasn’t on tumblr when the Lorax came out.  Hunger Games was fun, but I didn’t like some of the changes from the book (they’re too old, and how come only Katniss and Peeta have last names?) The original Men in Black is one of my favorite movies of all time, but MIB3 sucked!  Madagascar 3 was the worst animate film I have ever seen; I had a visceral response when I saw it in theaters, I can’t even explain why I hated it so much, it boggles my mind.  Brave was boring, Ted was crass (I only saw it because my sister rented it from RedBox), The Amazing Spider-Man was forgettable, as was the Hobbit.
2013
The Croods (March 2013)
Star Trek Into Darkness (May 2013)
Despicable Me 2 (June 2013)
Monsters University (June 2013)
World War Z (June 2013)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (September 2013)
Gravity (October 2013)
12 Years a Slave (October 2013)
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (November 2013)
Frozen (November 2013)
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (December 2013)
Top 3: The VFX in Gravity are amazing, perhaps the best of the decade, it’s beautiful to look at and feels grounded in reality (for the most part).  12 Years a Slave made me cry; it’s one of the few Award Bait movies I saw, and it totally deserved its Best Picture win.  I read the Walter Mitty short story my freshman year of high school, and we saw the movie on a field trip during my senior year; it was excellent, and I had never related to a character more. Other Notes: The Croods was forgettable, Despicable Me 2 was forgettable, Monsters University was forgettable, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 was forgettable; this was a bad year for animated movies.  I didn’t hate Frozen, but it’s not my cup of tea; I think the best song is “For the First Time in Forever,” not “Let it Go.”  World War Z was disappointing, because it is one of my favorite books of all time.
2014
The Lego Movie (February 2014)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (March 2014)
Godzilla (May 2014)
The Fault in Our Stars (May 2014)
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (May 2014)
22 Jump Street (June 2014)
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (June 2014)
Big Hero 6 (October 2014)
Interstellar (October 2014)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (November 2014)
Into the Woods (December 2014)
Top 3: How to train Your Dragon 2 wasn’t just more of the same,it expanded on the world and had real character development; 10/10.  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes had a lot of faults, but I really liked the world building and the uneasy equilibrium the human and ape societies have reached (the equilibrium is upset by the end).  Interstellar is magnificent; the VFW are breathtaking, the docking scene is phenomenal, and I love how grounded the Earth scenes feel even though they’re set in the future (it doesn’t feel like a science fiction movie, it feels more like a science movie) Other Notes: Lego Movie wasn’t my cup of tea, at all.  Winter Soldier was alright.  Godzilla was okay, I just wish Brian Cranston had been the main character.  Into the Woods was fun, but jarringly stylized; it was like watching a Broadway play on screen rather than a movie adaptation of a Broadway play.
2015
Avengers: Age of Ultron (April 2015)
Jurassic World (May 2015)
Terminator Genisys (June 2015)
The Martian (September 2015)
The Hunger Hames: Mockingjay – Part 2 (November 2015)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (December 2015)
Oh Boy: I didn’t particularly like any of the movies I saw this year.  Genisys was stupid, but it’s sort of a guilty pleasure of mine.  I love The Martian book, and the movie wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either.  I liked The Force Awakens when it came out, but but I think I was nostalgia blind, and I can’t in good conscience continue to consume Disney movies now that I know how the evil corporate conglomerate sausage is made; they all feel like disingenuous cash grabs (and before you Disney Apologists jump down my throat, I acknowledge that there are teams of passionate artists working on every film, but you can’t look me in the eyes and say that the company isn’t micromanaging everything they do to focus group the stories and make them as profitable as possible)  I think Fury Road would probably be my top choice of the year; I’ve seen clips of it, and it looks really good.
2016
Deadpool (February 2016)
Zootopia (February 2016)
10 Cloverfield Lane (March 2016)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 2016)
Captain America: Civil War (April 2016)
X-Men: Apocalypse (May 2016)
Finding Dory (June 2016)
Independence Day: Resurgence (June 2016)
Star Trek Beyond (July 2016)
Ghostbusters (July 2016)
Suicide Squad (August 2016)
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (September 2016)
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (November 2016)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (December 2016)
Oh Boy 2, Electric Boogaloo: these were not great years.  10 Cloverfield Lane was excellent, and everyone should go see it right now (because according to the box office, nobody saw it when it came out).  Deadpool was funny but not groundbreaking for me.  I disliked Zootopia because it was copaganda and another saccharine Disney focus grouped movie product (for the record, I only saw it because they were playing it for free at my university one Friday night a few years later).  Batman v Superman sucked.  I liked Civil War, but again, Disney.  Finding Dory was disappointing because the original is so good (Marlin basically had to relearn everything he learned the first time).  Independence Day was terrible, but it genuinely felt like a sequel made in the 90s, so there’s that.  Ghostbusters wasn’t that funny to me; it’d be like if they remade Young Frankenstein, you can’t just remake a great comedy and expect it to work with a different cast.  Suicide Squad sucked, Miss Peregrine was disappointing because I liked the book, Fantastic Beats was forgettable, and Rogue One was bland throughout with a horrible ending and one (1) fun scene with Darth Vader.
2017
Get Out (February 2017)
Kong: Skull Island (March 2017)
Baby Driver (March 2017)
Alien: Covenant (May 2017)
Captain Underpants (June 2017)
Spider-Man: Homecoming (June 2017)
War for the Planet of the Apes (July 2017)
The Dark Tower (July 2017)
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (September 2017)
It (September 2017)
Jigsaw (October 2017)
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (December 2017)
Top 3: Get Out was excellent, I had no idea Jordan Peele could do drama as well as he did comedy (and I loved the ending where the white family gets their comeuppance and the black protagonist doesn’t go to jail!)  Baby Driver is easily one of my favorite movies of all time; this was the first time I watched a movie and knew immediately that it would be nominated for an Oscar (it should have won, dammit; the sound editing was perfect).  Three Billboards made me cry, it’s so good. Other Notes: Kong was fun but forgettable.  Alien Covenant was fun but dumb (I was able to guess the twist immediately because they included ONE shot of David reaching for a knife; exclude that ONE shot, and I never would have guessed it).  Captain Underpants was fun (I loved the books growing up), but it was distracting to hear adult voices coming out of these 9 and 10-year-olds; I think the Netflix show does it WAY better.  War for the Planet of the Apes was disappointing, because I loved the first two; they never actually show the war, all the soldiers die in an avalanche at the end. It’s more like Great Escape fro the Planet of the Apes, if anything.  It was fun.  Jigsaw wasn’t not fun.  Last Jedi was a movie.
2018
The Cloverfield Paradox (February 2018)
Black Panther (February 2018)
A Quiet Place (April 2018)
Deadpool 2 (May 2018)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 2018)
Incredibles 2 (June 2018)
Operation Finale (August 2018)
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (December 2018)
Top 3: A Quiet Place was really good, and I liked how they got a real deaf actress to play the daughter.  Operation Finale was cathartic and I’m surprised it didn’t do well (I think it was weird that Ben Kingsley played Eichmann because he played Itzhak Stern, a Jewish worker, in Schindler’s List; he’s got range, I guess?) Spider-Verse is the best animated film of the decade, best Spider-Man film ever made, and one of my favorites movies of all time. Other Notes: Cloverfield Paradox was disappointing because I liked the first two so much.  Black Panther was good, but I just don’t like the MCU.  Deadpool 2 was fun, but I probably won’t see it again.  Solo was forgettable.  Incredibles 2 was not as good as I hoped it would be.
2019
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (February 2019)
Toy Story 4 (June 2019)
Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 2019)
Terminator: Dark Fate (November 2019)
Knives Out (November 2019)
Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker (December 2019)
As it stands, I only REALLY liked Knives Out this year; it was an excellent whodunit and I cannot recommend it enough.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, I am never this engaged by a movie anymore, I had no idea where it was going, but I loved the ride the entire time (it was a SOLID movie, very tight, very well made).  How to Train Your Dragon 3 was disappointing; not a great ending to the series, and none of the characters have grown any (all the comic relief idiots are still comic relief idiots, and in fact there’s a whole scene where the villain gets annoyed with one of them and let’s them go to have some peace and quiet, which undercuts his villainy by making him look like a Loony Tunes character rather than a real threat).  I am swearing off Marvel movies from now on; I get nothing out of them anymore, and Disney will keep making billions regardless of my lost ticket revenue.  Terminator 5 was not great, but probably the third best of the series (I’d probably watch it again, but like Genisys it is a guilty pleasure, not a movie I enjoy unironically).  1917 looks good, and I am excited to see it.  Star Wars 9 look like a movie; after I see it, I am swearing off Disney movies entirely.  I would skip this one, but my mom insists that we all go see it as a family for Christmas, so it’s literally a holiday chore for me.  I want to see how it ends, but I don’t want to pay for it.  Oh, and it’ll never end.  They say this is the end, but we all know that’s a lie.  They’ll start production on Episodes X, XI and XII before the decade is out (the 2020s I mean).  Audiences haven’t reached Marvel Fatigue (and probably never will), so they sure as hell aren’t gonna reach Star War Fatigue any time soon; Disney will keep churning them out forever, at least once a year, maybe more.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them AU When Logan, a man obsessed with the care and protection of magical creatures, finds a small and frightened animal scrambling in the shadows, he makes it his mission to care for it, as it turns out this creature is a victim of a blood curse and doesn’t remain a creature when he finds a shivering man on the floor of his room. (Analogical) (Background Royality)
--
Logan takes in the little creature with curious eyes, it’s small, with a long tail but could otherwise fit in the palm of his hands. This creature had tiny little horns poking out behind its fluffy ears and bright brown eyes that looked unnervingly similar to that of a human. “You look terrified,” He observes with a sigh, “I wonder what you eat, I’ve never seen nor studied something like you before,” He tucks the creature into his front pocket to allow them to have some warmth.
He picks up his case and starts along the road, the streetlights reflecting off the rainwater that dampened the cobblestone path he walked down. Upon reaching his house, he unlocks the door and lets it fall shut behind him. “Patton?” He calls, placing his suitcase on the table.
A shorter man, with flushed cheeks and tousled light brown hair, hurries forward, straightening his waistcoat. “Hey Logan, how may I help?” Logan’s brother, an excitable young man who fell in love with everyone he met and much like the elder, loved animals beyond his hearts limits, lived with him and helped him with the new creatures he brought in and cared for them.
“I’ve got another, found this one trying to clamber into the drains, likely to look for food, it appeared cold and rather terrified to be found, have you ever seen something like this?”He scoops the small and long-tailed animal from his pocket, holding it out for Patton to take carefully. The man unfurls his thin, round-framed and silver glasses and slides them up his nose before he takes it.
He studies it for a second, running a finger along it’s back in hope to calm the little creature. “Oh you poor thing, you look so terrified, let’s get you some food, shall we,I do hope a plant-based diet is okay for you,” He places it on the table and pulls a small bowl of mixed vegetables,it had initially been his dinner but Patton had a knack for putting everyone else before him. “I’ve never seen this creature before, it vaguely resembles a mouse, except its fur looks to be a greyish purple, and it has tiny little horns, perhaps we should ask Roman?”
Logan sighs, Roman was Patton’s rather extravagant partner, an alchemist with a knack for young men and pissing the elder Sanders brother off. For the price of his brother’s happiness, he entertained the flamboyant old man, who kept himself young with a variety of potions. Logan, however, didn’t doubt that Roman had fallen in love with many men or women in his time, and after Patton would fall in love with many more.
That’s just the issue with immortals, love is a pit stop, not a lifetime deal.
“Is Roman here?” Patton blushes a deep crimson “Well a gentleman never stays after night time,” He bites down on his lip to keep down a laugh, and Logan feels a small smirk on his face at the outright lie the other had told. The younger brother caves and nods “Yeah he’s in my room, but he’s asleep, no funny business,” Logan rolls his eyes, he cares very little about what his brother’s night time activities were, only if the animals he cared for were okay. His brother would tease he’d never marry a man or woman because he was too in love with his work.
Logan didn’t think him to be wrong.
As Patton returns to his lover, Logan takes the creature to his own room “You can stay in here for the night so I can keep an eye on you, I’ll put some food and water on here,” He places food and water on the floor, next to a small wooden box where he houses the small and sick animals when he first brings them in. The creature seems to relax a little in understanding it was under no threat. The man toes off his shoes and hangs up his coat, unrolling his sleeves and unclipping his braces from his pants. The dark haired man sits cross-legged on the floor and observes the animal’s interaction with the food and with Logan himself. In the end, he pulls a quilt to the floor and falls asleep watching the creature.
--
Logan awakes to whimpering, it’s followed by a crick in his back and neck from sleeping on a cold wooden floor all night. This is chased with the realization there is a small man in his room, with a head full of tousled greying purple hair that curls past his high, gaunt cheekbones. He’s wearing a ripped shirt which exposes the many prominent bones in his chest and ripped black slacks that look as if they'd been worn every day for years straight. It’s not until he sees small, pointed horns that he realized this person was, in fact, the small animal he’d brought in the night before. “Animagus?” He mutters to himself, head tilted in sheer fascination. Treating this as he would with animal, he moves onto his knees and sits back against the heels of his feet, holding out an unthreatening hand “What’s your name?”
“V-Virgil,” Is the stuttered, shaking reply he gets, brown eyes staring through a mop of hair “V-Virgil B-Bloodbourne,” His head bows submissively, jumping at every creak the floorboards made under his knees “Please don’t sell me to the circus m-mister, p-please,”
Logan might’ve been offended if this were any other time or place “I most certainly will not do that, my name is Logan Sanders, I’m a Doctor in Magizoology, and I intend to look after you and protect you, as will my brother and friend, we do not wish to cause you any harm or unnecessary distress, it is my job to protect magical creatures such as yourself, whether you are human or not,”
Virgil pauses “I was human, o-once,a-and then, now, I-I’m not,” He buries his face in his dirty hands “I-I was cursed,” Logan feels a rush of air run through his teeth, tired of seeing magic used in such a tainted way; he reaches out a hand for the other to take and helps him to his feet.
“Well, we’re going to get you back into health, get you some clean clothes and such,” He gives a firm smile to the shaking boy holding his hand “And from there, if you wish to stay you can,I won’t charge you to remain here, and I will care for you and protect you from predators both human and animal,” A disbelieving smile graces Virgil’s lips, through a cascade of tears.
“Th-Thank you,”
--
Patton’s reaction to a small and shaking boy, dressed in ill-fitting clothes and dirt collecting on his body is to instantaneously make him food. He’s waving his wand in every direction, Roman leans back against his chair with an impressed, lovesick expression on his face. “You should come more often!” He jokes through a cigarette “Even I don’t get this treatment,” Logan makes a comment about smoking in the house, followed by a blunt insult, but Roman barely hears.
“Roman, make yourself useful, run the guest a bath,” Patton’s serious face is on through a light and playful tone, hitting the back of the other lightly on the shoulder with his wand. “Off you go,” Roman sighs, stubs out the cigarette and heads up the stairs. “Logan, he’s roughly my size, have a rummage through my drawers and see if you can find something more warm for him, don’t worry sweetheart, we’ll have you sorted out in a jiffy!”
Logan snorts, Patton truly does love being able to fix things, people, animals, he found his joy in helping other’s, maybe too much, maybe not enough, Logan was not a kind-hearted man when it came to people but animals were a whole different game. His brother, however, cared for anything with a life, from a single leaf to giants.
He rummages through Patton's drawers, finding some clean underwear, a pair of black slacks, a black shirt and an oversized thick grey jumper. He brings them down in a neatly folded pile and places them on the couch before waving his wand in the direction of the fireplace, setting a warm fire simmering.
Four plates of food is placed down in time for roman to walk in “Bath’s running,” He tucks into his food almost immediately “I could take a look at some of those scratches too kid, and if you’re interested in a haircut that also wouldn’t go amiss,” Virgil blushes bright red, pushing stringy pieces of bacon into his mouth.
“What Roman’s trying to say, in his own incredibly dim-witted way, is that we’re here to offer any help you may need,” Logan says drily, cutting up a sausage on his plate “Although I wouldn’t ask Roman for help on anything, he’ll get sidetracked and start talking about his hair or nails, or outfit,” The immortal hisses lightly at the doctor, who has a playful smile on his lips.
“Th-thank you,” Virgil croaks, sipping a cup of warm tea, he’d never seen this much food or drink in his life and the warmth of the room felt like a safe haven. He felt safe here.
--
He soaks in the bath first, washing away dirt and mud from his thin frame. His stomach felt fit to burst as he dried himself off and changed into some clothes. Remaining shirtless, Roman cuts his hair neatly and combs it from the young man’s face, exposing two deep hazel eyes, with flecks of silver and gold sparkled through them.
Pulling on the shirt and sweater, he sinks into the material and Patton cleans and tends to the surface of the wounds whilst the alchemist puts together a minor healing potion which he drinks slowly mixed in with his tea. Logan watches his younger brother and his older friend fuss over the other with a fond smile, the two of them were perfect for each other in that when it came to healing their talents worked especially well with each other.
Blanket and warm tea surrounding him with warmth, Virgil and Logan sit in front of the fireplace. “You were the receiver of a blood curse, I assume, with the uncontrollable animal transformation, but it’s been so specialized and tailored for you that whoever did this created a very intricate detail to an age-old spell,” he takes a sip of his tea “I don’t know how to reverse that I’m afraid, but I can take care of you, and I would love to introduce you to some of the other creatures I look after here too, some of them were reared here in captivity because their species is dying out so I look after them to save them from endangerment, some are here for a while whilst healing and then released again, some I try to release and refuse to do so,” He gives a small smile and places the cup of tea on the small table in front of the fire “Would you like to meet them? None of them are dangerous even if they look it,” Virgil nods quietly and takes an offered hand to stand up.
Logan leads him to a small door in the side and begins to descend down the stairs. For a moment, Virgil wonders how a small basement can accommodate all the creatures Logan talks about having until he reaches the realization that where he is is not a basement at all. It’s like the dark-haired man has an entire island in his basement, full of creatures he has not seen in his life. A shy, curious creature with tiny little eyes and hands made out of leaves scrambles towards Virgils legs and he giggles in response, bending down to pick it up.
“He doesn’t usually take to other’s very well, so you’re very lucky,” Logan comments as the creature dances between his fingertips. In awe, the smaller man starts to wander through the boxes, of singular and rather sickly animals that were still healing from whatever ilness they had contracted, into open fields full of various animals interacting with each other.
“This place is amazing,” He mutters, eyes wide with wonder before looking at Logan “I would love to stay, truly it would mean the world,” Before Logan can react, thin arms are wrapping around his waist and for a moment he is uncertain what to do or how to react before patting the other on the back warmly. Virgil smiles, head buried into the other’s chest in the first moment of comfort he’s ever had in his life.
--
Virgil starts to learn more about the creatures, helping out Patton and Logan with caring for them or entertaining the loud Alchemist who tagged along for the ride. One day he asks Patton how he and Roman met, which was received with a  wide beam and flushed cheeks. “Well I needed a potion for one of the animals, you see, so Logan sent me down the road to where Roman makes his brews and we chatted for a while, and then next time I go in he says I don’t have to pay him in cash, and he would like to take me on a date instead, I, of course, said yes but the current climate for same-sex relationships is less than ideal, so he taught me how to make healing potions instead, then we started seeing each other more frequently,”
“And now he practically lives with us,” Logan appears next to the two, “If I didn’t need Patton’s help so much then I’d instruct him to move in with Roman,” His words, albeit harsh, were spoken with a playful care and a smile tugging at his lips that he tried so desperately to hide. the younger brother shoves the elder with a laugh and Virgil finds himself smiling at them too.
“What about you, Logan? Do you have a mister or Mrs?” Logan simply shakes his head and leans against the door, a cup of tea between his hands. Patton, however, laughs heartily.
“God forbid any man or woman that takes his fancy, you’d have to be a tough penny to put up with him! Married to his work, I’ve always said,” He sighs dramatically “Even I’ve given up on the idea that my stone cold rock of a brother will ever fall in love,” He receives a clip on the back of the ear from Logan and hisses dramatically, frowning and pouting simultaneously.
“Maybe one day” Is all Logan says “Now, back to work, both of you,” Patton murmured something about ‘slave driver’ but does as he’s told anyway.
--
A month after moving in with Logan, Virgil is starting to settle a lot more, he becomes more comfortable around the elder man and his younger brother. Roman unnerves him just slightly, he’s very loud and crude and brash and sometimes makes Virgil jump by accident, but it’s something they’re both becoming accustomed too.
He sits on the mattress on the floor, which has essentially become a part-time bed for him now, playing with one of the baby Nifflers as it scrambled up and down his arms. Logan joins him in the room and watches him interact with the animal; it was one of the most heartwarming things the elder man had ever witnessed.
He’d always known if he were to ever fall in love it would be with someone who loved animals just as much as he did. In fact, he could never connect with people who did not give creatures other than themselves the utmost respect. This was possibly the reason that he rarely saw eye to eye with Roman, who whilst respected the Sanders brother’s work, did not have a care for the animals and would occasionally find them irritating.
But Virgil, with his little horns poking from a mass of curling greyish purple hair, had loved the animals from the moment he’d met them, he understood their movements, their body language, he wanted them to feel safe and comfortable like he would with any human being. Logan loved that, and watching him now he thinks perhaps he loves Virgil too.
He moves to sit next to Virgil, their shoulders brushing whilst the baby Niffler snuggled up to Virgil’s chest, cupped in the man’s hands. As the purple haired man looks up at his friend, a small smile presses to his lips and he sinks into the ocean blue eyes of the elder man.
The dark eyes of the younger close as a hand brushes fingertips against his pale cheeks. He sinks into the warmth and feeling of the man who had saved his life and feels his breath ghost over his lips. It comes as a very little surprise to him as the elder presses his lips gently to his own, still cradling the sleeping Niffler to his chest as he moves his own lips. They pull away with smiles on their faces, which only fall as the Niffler squeaks in surprise at being moved from his sleeping cocoon. Logan loves the laugh that ripples through Virgil’s chest and finds he rather adores the other man’s smile.
All the little glances the host of the house had thrown the other, watching him with equal parts curious and infatuation seemed to add up now as the two cuddled for the warmth of their bodies and hearts on the mattress in Logan’s room.
--
“Called it!” Roman cheers over a pint of Butterbeer, Virgil jumps and Logan scowls at the other who is still not quite accustomed to having to shut up. “Sorry, sorry,” Patton beams happily and hugs the two of them.
“I can’t believe it,” He sighs dreamily “I was starting to worry you’d be alone forever you know, Logan!” The elder man blushes for what might be the first time in his life and accepts the hug. “You should probably think about getting a bigger bed though,” It’s an innocent remark, but Roman chuckles with crude undertones and Virgil colors scarlet. “Roman, honestly, you’re such a child, you know that’s not what I meant,” A grape flicks off Roman’s head and he protests indignantly. “I'm glad you’re both happy, that’s what’s important!”
“Thank you, Patton,” Virgil smiles warmly and thinks that perhaps, for the first time in his life, he may have found a family.

For the week of 20 August 2018
Quick Bits:
Aphrodite V #2 is pretty damn great. Jeff Spokes’ artwork is instantly compelling, drawing in the reader with darkness and interesting angles into this increasingly enthralling story of a machine cult from the future by him and Bryan Hill.

Avengers #6 concludes the first arc in widescreen fashion. Lots of action and big ideas from Jason Aaron with gorgeous art from Ed McGuinness, Paco Medina, Mark Morales, Juan Velasco, and David Curiel. Again I’m reminded of those early issue of JLA from Grant Morrison and Howard Porter. This has been fun so far and I’m intrigued by what else they have in store.

Beasts of Burden: Wise Dogs & Eldritch Men #1 is a very welcome return, even without Jill Thompson for this go around. The artwork from Benjamin Dewey is beautiful as he reminds us that he’s one of the best nature artists in comics, and possible beyond. His animals are just stunning. The story from him and Evan Dorkin is also interesting, suggesting some arcane traps luring in the paranormal. Great stuff for all ages.

Big Trouble in Little China: Old Man Jack #12 concludes the series with an epic battle between the forces of heaven and hell as it teaches us the true meaning of friendship. It’s funnier when you actually read it. This has been an entertaining series from John Carpenter, Anthony Burch, Jorge Corona, Gabriel Cassata, and Ed Dukeshire, with this final chapter also delivering a nice farewell to the movie as well.

Black Hammer: Age of Doom #4 has some very interesting revelations that ultimately only lead to more questions than answers. What’s going on isn’t nearly as cut and dried as we were led to believe last issue and the mystery has just deepened. Jeff Lemire, Dean Ormston, Dave Stewart, and Todd Klein have managed to elevate this story higher again.

Black Panther #3 finally parcels out a tidbit of what might actually be going on with the series and the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, just in time for a surprise attack and more action. Thankfully, the art from Daniel Acuña is still overwhelmingly gorgeous.

Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome #2 is even better than the first issue. The mystery deepens as Antonius and Achillia reach Egypt and find incongruities they don’t expect within this province of the Roman Empire. The artwork from Robert Gill (with colours from José Villarrubia) is probably among the best I’ve seen from him, really bringing some very strong work here with backgrounds, vehicles, and character designs that are particularly impressive.

Cold Spots #1 is the start to another horror series from Cullen Bunn, this time accompanied by Mark Torres with the artwork, and as per many of Bunn’s previous tales, this is a great start. There’s a genuinely creepy atmosphere from Torres’ art and the plot of a missing daughter and her child, amidst the spooky maybe-ghosts, is a good one.

Daredevil #607 gets into how there can possibly be a Mike Murdock running around New York and it’s an interesting and possibly hazardous diversion. Gorgeous art from Phil Noto.

Die!Die!Die! #2 is more entertaining over-the-top humorous action that feels like it’s channelling Garth Ennis. Great art from Chris Burnham and Nathan Fairbairn.

Hunt for Wolverine: Mystery in Madripoor #4 is probably the most succinct in sticking to its plot without real deviation of all of these minis. Basically sticking to the thread of these X-women tackling the Femme Fatales. It’s been a relatively decent story from Jim Zub, Thony Silas, and Felipe Sobreiro, even if the art’s been a little uneven. There’s a really nice sequence of Psylocke finding herself again in this issue, though, from Leonard Kirk and Andrew Crossley that has interesting implications going forward.

Jughead: The Hunger #8 is a great jumping-on point for new readers, offering a bit of a history lesson and summary reinterpretation of the events of the overarching plot of the series to date. Great work from Frank Tieri, Pat & Tim Kennedy, Joe Eisma, Bob Smith, Ryan Jampole, Matt Herms, Andre Szymanowicz, and Jack Morelli.

The Life of Captain Marvel #2 continues what is shaping up to be possibly one of the defining and quintessential Carol Danvers stories. I love what Margaret Stohl is doing in bringing out the backstory and interpersonal dynamics of Carol’s family. The art from Carlos Pacheco, Rafael Fonteriz, and Marcio Menyz in the present day and Marguerite Sauvage’s flashbacks is wonderful.

Mr. & Mrs. X #2 continues this fun ride, tossing in Deadpool and more of the lesser used intergalactic X-characters. The dialogue from Kelly Thompson is hilarious and the art from Oscar Bazaldua and Frank D’Armata is great.

Old Man Logan #46 begins another arc tying up loose ends before the endgame of Dead Man Logan kicks off. Wrapping reconnecting with Alpha Flight around a horror story evoking shades of The Thing and Slither results in a wonderful story perfectly fitting Damian Couciero’s artwork.

The Punisher #1 is both a continuation of Matthew Rosenberg’s stories and ideas from the last volume of the series and a kind of back-to-basics approach to Frank Castle. Basically, he’s lost the War Machine suit, but he’s still taking on the world-spanning super-villains. It’s pretty epic and this is great jumping-on point. The dark humour is perfect, reminding me of Garth Ennis’ work with Castle, and seriously this is probably the best art that Szymon Kudranski has ever done. Along with Antonio Fabela’s colours, it’s like he was born to draw The Punisher.

Royal City #14 is an introspective end of saying farewell to the past and accepting change to move forward. This has been an interesting series from Jeff Lemire, focusing on his most often used theme of family, and it’s been a good exploration of their different dynamics.

The Sentry #3 is pretty dark, telling the flipside of the first two issues from Billy Turner’s perspective as he goes about stealing Sentry’s identity. This is almost at Kid Miracleman levels of demented. Jeff Lemire is playing with some interesting ideas here, beautifully brought to life by Kim Jacinto, Joshua Cassara, and Rain Beredo.

Shadowman #6 has some truly beautiful artwork from Renato Guedes, as this arc of Jack falling through time visiting the different holders of the shadow loa takes an interesting turn in ancient history.

Shanghai Red #3 is probably the best issue to date, as Molly reunites with Katie, recriminations are hashed out, and we get a bit of a tour of Portland. Christopher Sebela, Joshua Hixson, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou have tapped into something unique here, and this tale of revenge and some of the lesser told side of American history is incredibly compelling.

TMNT #85 brings Leatherhead back into the fold, with very interesting and potentially dangerous ramifications following the war between the Utroms and Triceratons. Brahm Revel’s clothes-peg take on the Turtles is an interesting visual choice.

The Thrilling Adventure Hour #2 I find better than the first issue. The humour hits home a bit more for me and the leads of Sadie and Frank don’t seem nearly as insufferable as the first issue. The art, though, from MJ Erickson and Brittany Peer is just as good as the first. Entertaining stuff.

Venom #5 is another great issue. The mythology-building in this series is just incredible, growing Venom and his world into so much more. Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles are creating magic.

West Coast Avengers #1 is a great debut, filled with action and humour, as this highly dysfunctional team comes together. It’s nice to see Kelly Thompson doing more Hawkeye and Hawkguy, and the collection of characters coming together to make up the team are bizarre and fitting, carrying on a few of the themes and plot developments of the previous Hawkeye and America series. Though you needn’t have read any of that before you pick this up. Making it nigh unmissable is the gorgeous art from Stefano Caselli and Triona Farrell. This is fun.

X-Men Red #7 advances us a bit further as the X-Men attempt to uncover evidence of Cassandra Nova’s influence on the world and thwart her attack on Atlantis. Tom Taylor has definitely been taking a slow approach to unfurling this story, but it has allowed for the beautiful art from originally Mahmud Asrar and now Carmen Carnero & Rain Beredo time to breathe.
