طویل ترین اشاعت کی حامل تحریر " دیوتا " کے خالق ، محی الدین نواب صاحب

سسپنس ڈائجسٹ میں طویل ترین اشاعت کی حامل تحریر " دیوتا " کے خالق ، محی الدین نواب صاحب تھے. یہ سیریز ٹیلی پیتھی کے ماہر، فرہاد علی تیمور کی روداد تھی کہ جس کو مسلسل 30 سال تک قسط وار لکھا گیا. (بنام محی الدین نواب، 4 ستمبر 1930 تا 6 فروری 2016). طویل ترین قسط وار کہانی " دیوتا " ایک مقبول ترین سلسلہ تھا جو 1977 سے آغاز کر کے 2010 تک مسلسل ہر ماہ لکھا گیا. یہ اردو ادب کا سب سے زیادہ شائع ہونے والا طویل ترین قسط وار ناول تھا کہ جس کو پڑھنے والوں نے اپنی دو سے تین نسلیں گزار دیں. جب یہ الگ کتابی صورت میں شائع ھوا تو اسکی 57 جلدیں بنیں. محی الدین نواب صاحب نے اتنا کچھ کیسے لکھ دیا ؟ کیونکہ جتنا انہوں نے لکھا ہے، اتنا لکھا ہی نہیں جا سکتا، مگر اس سے بڑا اسرار، انکی اپنی زندگی تھی کہ انہوں نے ہمیشہ خود کو راز میں رکھا اور بہت کم لوگوں کو، انکی ذات کے بارے میں علم ھو گا، حتی کہ اچھے خاصے پڑھے لکھے لوگ بھی، انکی تصویر تک سے آگاہ نہیں تھے، کیونکہ محی الدین صاحب اپنی ذات کو خفی رکھنا پسند کرتے تھے۔

آج ھم ان کے بارے میں ایسی باتیں بھی سامنے لائیں گے کہ جو بہت کم لوگ جانتے ہونگے . شہرہ آفاق مصنف ، محی الدین نواب صاحب ، بنگال کے شہر کھڑگ پور میں پیدا ہوئے . وہ نسلی اعتبار سے بنگالی مسلم تھے . عام بنگالیوں کی طرح ، وہ چھوٹے قد و قامت ، موٹی آنکھوں والے ، سانولی رنگت کے حامل تھے ، کئی زبانوں کے ماہر اور بولنے میں بہت شیریں لکھنوی انداز کی اردو بولتے تھے، ہند و پاک کی تقسیم کے بعد وہ بہار سے پاکستان (1970 میں) لاہور چلے آئے کہ بہار کو ہندوستانی علاقہ بنا دیا گیا تھا، ان کی پہلی شادی چھوٹی عمر میں ہی ھو چکی تھی لاہور آکر انھیں بہت سی مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑا ، علم و ادب سے محبت اور گہری وابستگی ، ان کے خون میں شامل تھی اور اسی کام کو ہی انہوں نے ذریعہ روزگار بھی بنایا اور بہت سی تحریریں لکھیں اور پبلشرز کے حوالے کیں، مگر جیسا کہ کچھ پبلشرز کا حال ہے، بہت سوں نے نیا ادیب اور نئی تحریر کا کہہ کر ٹرخا دیا اور کئی نے بہت کم معاوضہ دے کر کہانی ہتھیانے کا بھی قصد کیا . ( کچھ پبلشرز آج بھی یہی گر استمال کر رھے ہیں معزرت کے ساتھ)

کم معاوضہ کے باوجود ، نواب صاحب نے بہت کچھ لکھا، اصل نام سے بھی اور دیبا کے فرضی نام سے بھی، مگر انہیں کوئی پزیرائی نہ مل سکی . انہوں نے کراچی کے پبلشنگ اداروں سے رابطہ کیا تو مقبول ترین سسپنس ڈائجسٹ کے مدیر اعلی، معراج رسول صاحب نے ان میں گوہر خاص دیکھ لیا . انہوں نے نواب صاحب کو کراچی بلوا لیا اور زندگی بھر کے لئے ، سسپنس ڈائجسٹ میں بہترین معاوضہ پر لکھنے کی پیشکش کی جو ساری عمر قائم رہی اور نواب صاحب نے ، دیوتا کی اشاعت کے ساتھ ساتھ ہی متعدد ملک گیر مقبولیت کی حامل کہانیاں بھی لک��یں کہ جو ظاہر ہے مالی خوشحالی کے بعد ، لکھنی آسان بھی تھیں. دیوتا کے ہر ماہ لکھے ، 30 سالہ ریکارڈ کے بعد ، انہوں نے دیگر موضوعات پر بھی ادبی و افسانوی کتب لکھیں انکا انداز بیان اور الفاظ و احساسات کی چاشنی باکمال تھی اور انکی تعداد بھی اتنی زیادہ تھی کہ سن کر بھی حیرانگی ہوتی ہے. اس پر اگلی سطور میں بات کی جائے گی.

کراچی آمد کے بعد خوشحالی کا دور آیا تو محی الدین صاحب نے پہ در پہ مزید شادیاں کئیں . انکی چار شادیاں اور تیرہ بچے تھے ، ایک جواں سال بچے کی بے وقت موت پر وہ بےحد افسردہ بھی تھے، وہ سسپنس ڈائجسٹ کی قسط وار کہانی کا ماہانہ معاوضہ 50 ہزار لیا کرتے تھے اور دیگر فی کہانی 40 ہزار، یوں انہوں نے اچھی علمی زندگی کے ساتھ ساتھ ، کامیاب مالی زندگی بھی گزاری . انکی پہلی کتاب 23 سال کی عمر میں لکھی گئی اور 86 سال کی عمر تک یہ سلسلہ جاری رہا. اب بتاتے ہیں کہ ایک انسان ، اتنا زیادہ کیسے لکھ سکتا ہے . تو جناب من ! نواب صاحب ، اپنی ساری کہانی کی روداد ایک چھوٹے سے ٹیپ ریکارڈ میں بھر لیا کرتے تھے کہ جسے کشور سلطانہ نامی ایک دبلی پتلی سی ، نازک اندام لڑکی ، الفاظ کا روپ دیا کرتی تھی ، مطلب الفاظ گری کی ساری تعریف ، کشور سلطانہ کے نام جاتی ہے ، اس نازک اندام لڑکی نے ، اپنا بھی بہت سا کام لکھا کہ جس کی تحریری جھلک ، نواب صاحب کے جیسی دکھتی ہے.

نواب صاحب کی تمام تر توجہ لکھنے کی طرف تھی تو صحت کے بگڑنے کا پتا ہی نہیں چلا. وہ دمہ کے مرض میں مبتلا ھو گئے کہ جو کبھی شدید کھانسی کا سبب بھی بنتا. وہ بہت بار سوات بھی رہے تاکہ بحالی صحت ھو سکے. اب کچھ تذکرہ انکی شہرہ آفاق کہانیوں کا ھو جائے کہ جن کی مثال بہت مشکل سے ملتی ہے. دل پارہ پارہ ، آدھا چہرہ ، ایمان کا سفر ، کچرا گھر۔

hahahaha, i am most CLEARLY not well-read enough to be able to sustain that blog for long!

Nemrah Ahmed is a modern take on Umera Ahmed on steroids🤷🏼‍♀️ She pushes to the brink of and even breaks the willing suspension of disbelief and alongside the way, she copiously pours (again) her personal religious views all over the narrative. and once it became too obvious for me to ignore, I lost all interest in her.

just to be clear, i absolutely adored Mashaf when it was being published monthly. Beli Rajputan Ki Malka is something of hers I picked up out of a whim after being "smitten" by Mashaf and it further strengthened my belief at that time that i had found my new fav writer. but then Jannat Ke Patay started publishing. and ngl, it had me hooked for about half its run before the whole "reveal" happened and my immediate response was, "what the ever loving fuck?" and I dropped the book never to pick it up again. chalo theek hai hero ki herogiri ek taraf but blatant preaching like being hit with a spiked bat over the head was a little TOO much for me. novel padha hai, sermon nahin.

then Namal happened and OH MY GOD THAT BOOK!!!! *looks lovingly at the biggest book on my bookshelf*. that made me think ohkay, NA is back. she's back to being a fav. yeah sure the plot armor is still thick and the coincidences are still too convenient and urgh the preaching remains constant. I willingly ignored the first two and easily skipped through the last and ultimately got myself a FAVORITE book. what characters! what dynamics!! the portrayal of human emotions in all of their evilness is just *chef kiss*. not many Urdu digest stories can take their "good guys" to the brink of being bad like NA did in Namal and succeed. and succeed she DID! AND THE FARIS X ZUMAR "LOVE" STORY?!??!?! BHAYEEEE!! THE LAYERS!! THE COMPLEXITY!!! THE TROPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not a perfect book when I critically analyze it but still a damn enjoyable one. sometimes one needs a completely out of touch of reality story like this to be entertained. although, I'll forever be mad at it for turning my fav badass Haneen into a mouthpiece of "achi ladki". like stfu.

khair, Namal got me excited for Haalim but lol. ek hi episode mein drop. too much hi hogaya. like TOO much. thoda bohat out of realm of reality acha hai yeh kya poora hi scifi bana diya. blah. didn't even bother giving it another chance. a twt moot tried to get me into Maala but nah. got the same vibes as Haalim. so yeah basically, NA enjoyed a good while as being my fav author but then she was dismissed from the position without any regrets :D

I also felt during Namal that NA adopts a lot of tropes from the west which she then dunks on. matlab, advantage bhi lena hai phir gaali bhi deni hai ke yeh sab kitna bura hai aur bass apni side hi best hai. that's the kind of hypocrisy i just cannot forgive :/
