SaiyanPrincessSwanie - Reading List Week 52
I started these reading lists a year ago to help signal boost writers as well as spread positivity within the community. I have enjoyed being able to do my part over the last year as it has introduced so many wonderful people in my life.
But with all good things there is always a negative drawback, for me it was bullying. I’m sorry to those who looked forward to these lists. Maybe after some down time I will pick this up again.
With that said, this list is going to be different. I spent all of yesterday compiling this author list. These should be every single author I highlighted over the last year. I wanted to feature their Masterlists in one post. If I accidentally left you off please let me know. I have just over 155 authors in alphabetical order. I won’t be able to tag every author since the limit is 50. I will be linking your masterlist to the names below. If you don’t have one I will link your blog. I will tag you in the comments.
So if you don’t see your personal favorites or if you didn’t make this list just know it just means I haven’t read for them or you yet. This doesn’t discredit the amazing talent that is on this site.

Two Buns
Prompts: Cultural food and Learning a new language
Pairings: Author!Bucky x Asian Male!Reader
Summary: Rainy days and steaming hot buns sounds better when you have a steamy well-read man by your side as your date. Will it end well? Or end at all?
Words count: 1,328
Warning: Always 18+ reader. Badly written jokes, probs grammar. Fluff, implied smut.
A/N: Thankyou for @happygowriting and @uncafeavecbarnes for hosting this challenge. Sweet thanks to @curtiseverettswife for beta reading it for me. I did research and use some of my real life experiences to write this. Cheers for POC readers, as I am one of them. Enjoy.
As you settle inside the library, the rain starts to fall outside. The patter eases your heart rate from running to the library. You exhale and start to make your way to find some books for your research. Little did you know, your entrance was noticed by someone in the library.
He was infatuated, interested and he is now very curious. He made his way from section to section until he found you. Tucked away in that little section, your head buried in the book. He feels bad for interrupting you, but he can’t help it.
“Excuse me?” He asks politely, your head slowly pulled back and your eyes met with his. He felt the words and air punched out of him. “Yes?” You furrowed your eyebrows.
“N-Nice book you’re reading.” He points out the romance novel in your hand. “Oh, thanks.” Then you look down at the stack of books in his hands and you chuckle softly. “Guide to Butt sex 101?” He mirrors your chuckle then he fixes his glasses, he’s clearly nervous.
“It’s for the book that I’m writing. You know research.” He said truthfully. His voice was quiet and calm, it resonates with you somehow.
“You’re an author?” You asked, interested. He nods and you ask about what he writes and about the books that he’s written.
Romance? Of course, romance. He looks like that kind of guy a romantic would write about. His long hair was combed back, probably from his own hand. Some strands stuck out, looks like he’s been here for a while researching.
Those eyes pierced your soul, even though they’re hidden behind the black speck he’s wearing.
“I never got your name.” You smile, you can feel a blush starts to rosy up your cheek as you told him your name. “That’s a lovely name, I’m Bucky.” He offers his hand and you shake it. His hand was warm and your was cold.
He frowns. “Your hands, they’re freezing.” He places his books on the shelf and takes your hand between his hands. You were taken aback, no one has ever done that to you. “Thankyou.” You can’t help but squeeze his hand for more of his warmth. He smiles and you feel his thumb drawing circles on your skin.
“I was wondering if you.. Maybe you want to grab coffee or tea?” He asked, a little hesitant as you both walk into the study area.
“Like a date?”
“I mean yeah, if you want it to be a date.”
“I know a place.” You both grab your stuff and without a second thought, you grab his hand and walk out of the library. Bucky smiles a little and holds on tight to your hand, following you out.
Both of you ran a couple of blocks out and when Bucky looks up there are red lanterns and neon signs everywhere. You brought him to Chinatown.
Bucky looks around as you lead him inside. There were restaurants everywhere and little shops of trinkets. He saw ducks hanging and displayed in some of the restaurants. There were stands of all kinds of street food. The scent of delicious food was inviting to him. Maybe if you weren’t holding his hand, he would stop and try all this food out.
He saw old Asian men sitting around, playing cards and there were clothespins on their ears. “Why do they have those on their ears, doesn’t that hurt?” He points out, intrigued. You chuckled. “They’re playing cards and each of those clothespins represent how many times they’ve lost the game.” Bucky was amazed because he saw one guy with his left ear completely covered in the clothespin.
As you and Bucky walk into the restaurant, you bow and say hello to everyone. Bucky mimics you and he bows too. You wave at one of the waitresses, “Cici, meet my date when you’re done.” She smiles and nods at you and Bucky.
When Bucky sits down with the menu, you can already tell he has so many questions.
“You know everyone here?”
“Not everyone, I came here a lot and you bow to greet everyone to show respect.”
“Oh, I see. And the girl you called her Cici? Is that her name?” You shake your head, you love how curious Bucky is right now. It warms you up to think that he cares about you and wants to know more about what makes you, you.
“It’s like a nickname for a woman older than you. We don’t call elders by their name.”
“So if I’m older than you, you’d call me cici?” You laugh and that makes Bucky even more confused.
“Nope, I’d call you koko or just ko followed by your name if I know you well.” Bucky nods in understanding.
You guide Bucky in choosing his food. He knows Chinese and Asian food in general, but this was foreign to him. He settles on the wonton soup, which is Da Hun Dun.
After finishing all the food, you ordered sesame balls and steamed buns. The waitress that you called came and brought it over. “Cici this is Bucky.” Bucky smiles and bows after her. “Oh, good manner. You paying?” She asked Bucky as she points at the food. “Yes, I am.” She looked at you and give you a thumbs up.
“You should let him slap your bao after.” She winked at Bucky and he was again confused. You turned red and push her away. She laughed and waved at Bucky flirtingly. “Desserts on the house. Have fun.”
“What’s bao?” Bucky asked and you picked up one of the steam buns. “It’s this.”
“And she wanted me to slap your bao?” Before you could answer, he lightly taps the bao that’s on your hand. That makes you laugh.
“Bucky she meant my ass.” Bucky’s cheek reddened as he made an “o” sound. “I mean I could, if you’re into that.” Then it was your turn to blush because yes, obviously. “Slow it down cowboy, we’re not even through with the dessert.”
When Bucky bites into the bao, he hums a sound that was similar to a moan. You can tell he likes it. The inside was warm and the filling melted in his mouth. It was sweet but subtle.
“What’s in this? It’s so fucking good.”
“It’s red beans, good huh?”
“Good? It tastes like sex in my mouth, holy shit.”
Bucky finished then continues with the sesame balls. The filling was drier but had that same subtle sweet in it. The outside of the balls is covered in sesame seed.
“What’s in this one?” He asked as he looks inside the ball and examines it. He never tasted anything like it. “That one is mung beans.” “I’ve never had mung beans, I like it a lot.”
After Bucky paid for both of your meals, your cici comes back with a take-out box and hands it to Bucky. “It’s for you.” Bucky smiles, saying thank you and bowing. She smiles and pats his back.
Bucky holds the take-out box in his left hand so he could your hand with his right. Before walking out of Chinatown, you pull Bucky to the side. You looked up at him, his eyes wonders from your lips and back to your eyes. You lean close to him and he leans in too.
He closed the gap and kisses you softly. You inhaled deeply as you felt his hand cradling your jaw. You can taste the sweetness in Bucky’s lips and the faint smell of his cologne, it all made your knees weak.
Bucky then wraps his hand around your lower back and pulls away, a huge grin on his face as he pressed his forehead to yours. You’re never going to forget this moment. Kissing the hot writer in the rain and having him pressed so close against you. This is something that happens in a romance novel and you certainly feel like the main character.

One week ago, I asked a friend if it would be worth joining AO3. I’d always been curious about it, I’ve heard good things from my own real-life writers’ circles, so I thought ‘why not take the leap?’
This morning I woke up to find 100 kudos on my account.
I know it may not seem like a big deal to most people, but for me, it is.
I read a comment this morning that said:
‘Kudos isn’t about statistics, it’s about the emotional connection to the material.’
Friends, I’ve been sharing my work online for 11 years (yikes!) and it’s been both a fun journey and a learning curve. In that time, I’ve honed my craft, I’ve been published, but most importantly I’ve met so many amazing writers. The online writing community is a wild, weird and wonderful place. I’ve read stories that have gripped me, shocked me, made me laugh, made me cry, made me seriously envious of other people’s skills...I could go on.
I’ve seen so many posts recently about how the online writing community is dwindling. There are so many wonderful writers who aren’t getting the credit they deserve, so I’ve decided to celebrate my first AO3 milestone by compiling a list of 100 authors who deserve a little more love.

These have been sitting far too long in my inbox, but I'm finally getting to them. Thank you @infinite-imagination and @callmeluna for sending them to me!
1. I like that I can knit, it's a good way for me to stay busy and it's productive for me or whoever is on the receiving end of what I'm making.
2. I like my voice. Second alto for life and my dream would be to be able to have a quartet to sing with.
3. I like that I can bake, it's another creative outlet for me.
4. I like my tattoos. Each one means something to me, and I'm itching to get another one.
5. I like that I write. Whether it's fanfiction or something original, I love creating stories and I think I do a pretty decent job at it.

Hey all, it’s time to bring you week 41 of my reading list. These are all one-shots, drabbles and stories from authors who have either tagged me in their work or they have been recommended to me. Every week, I will put a list together of what I’m reading. I want to do this to help spread the love in the Marvel Community.
