Sean bienvenidos, japonistasarqueológicos a una nueva entrega en esta ocasión os presento a uno de los arqueólogos que excavan en el yacimiento del Toro en la arqueología de posguerra. - ¿Qué es la arqueología de posguerra? Disciplina, que abarca la década de 1947-1999 tras la 2 guerra mundial, Japón se dedicó a realizar excavaciones en masa, además de salir de la situación de posguerra, mejorando el país e invirtiendo en el patrimonio cultural, para que la población estuviera entretenida con otros quehaceres por ejemplo en la década de los 50 surge el famoso milagro Japonés. - Nuestro personaje en esta ocasión se trata de, kenichi Miura nacido en 1932, después de la guerra en japón surge un movimiento llamado Bunka federación y todas las escuelas querían hacer algo por la cultura. Fue una gran labor por parte del país del sol naciente a pesar de la situación en la que se encontraba digno de administración. - Espero que os haya gustado y nos vemos en próximas publicaciones que pasen una buena semana. 日本の考古学者たちよ、戦後の登呂遺跡考古学の新連載へようこそ。 - 戦後考古学とは何か？第二次世界大戦後の1947年から1999年の10年間をカバーする学問分野であり、日本は戦後の状況を離れ、国を改善し、文化遺産に投資することに加えて、国民が他の仕事で楽しまれるように、大規模な発掘に専念していた、例えば、50年代の10年間で有名な日本の奇跡が生じた。 - 今回の登場人物は、1932年生まれの三浦健一です。戦後、日本では文化連盟という運動が起こり、各学校が文化のために何かをしようとしました。日出づる國の行政にふさわしい状況にもかかわらず、これは偉大な仕事であった。 - それでは、また次号でお会いしましょう。良い一週間を。 Welcome, Japanese archaeologists, to a new installment of the post-war archaeology of the Toro archaeological site. - What is post-war archaeology? Lamento tanto que las cosas no estén yendo bien ahora contigo, espero que puedan mejorar pronto y logres encontrar algún trabajo donde te sientas mucho más cómoda y en paz. Puedes estar segura que nadie se enojará si te tomas un tiempo para ti o no haces unas cuantas solicitudes, creo que todos podemos entender que tienes una vida y/o compromisos fuera de Tumblr. Todos tienen diferentes tipos de problemas y no por eso significa que unos sean menos importantes que otros, no te sientas mal si necesitas desahogarte un poco de vez en cuando. Espero que este año pueda mejorar para ti. 💖

Muchas gracias por tus palabras siempre es lindo ver que hay gente apoyandome a pesar de no conocernos en persona pero me hace sentir bien que por medio de mis escritos pedorros se logran hacer amistades bonitas 🤧💖 de hecho ya me siento mejor desde que renuncié con otros 3 amigos a ese trabajo de mierda jaja, mis ahorros me ayudan por ahora a sobrevivir y a seguir con mis estudios mientras consigo un nuevo trabajo.

Por ahora, me he estado centrando en alimentar más que Tumblr mi cuenta de arte en IG ya que es algo que me tiene más entretenida y disfruto más que escribir (amo escribir, pero amo más dibujar) pero, igual tengo un par de ideas de escritura tanto con Gyutaro como con otros personajes y tal vez me gustaría abrir comisiones de dibujo pero no se que tan solicitada sea ya que aun no soy muy conocida por mi arte jaja.

Lamentablemente, la vida no es rosa y si bien ya no me afecta ningún trabajo tóxico si lo está haciendo una persona en la universidad. No me quiero creer la importante ni superior pero siento que la chica esta obsesionada con tener 1 millon de amigos y por eso no acepta el hecho de que yo no quiero ser su amiga a pesar de que yo ya se lo haya dicho (indirectamente). No me gusta estar con ella porque es egoísta, hipocrita y hasta un poco narcisista, le encanta llamar la atención de manera exagerada y no me siento nada cómoda con ella pero ella aun me ruega que al menos la deje sentarse al lado mío en clases 🙃

Thank you very much for your words, it is always nice to see that there are people supporting me despite not knowing each other in person, but it makes me feel good that through my silly writings I can make beautiful friends 🤧💖 in fact I already feel better since I quit with others 3 friends to that shitty job haha, my savings help me survive for now and continue with my studies while I get a new job.

For now, I have been focusing on feeding my art account on IG more than Tumblr since it is something that I am more entertained and enjoy more than writing (I love writing, but I love drawing more) but, I still have a couple of ideas for I write both with Gyutaro and with other characters and maybe I would like to open drawing commissions but I don't know how requested i can be since I'm not well known for my art yet haha.

Unfortunately, life is not rosy and while I am no longer affected by any toxic job, a person at university is doing it. I don't want to believe I'm important or superior, but I feel like the girl is obsessed with having 1 million friends and that's why she doesn't accept the fact that I don't want to be her friend even though I've already told her (indirectly). I don't like being with her because she is selfish, hypocritical and even a little narcissistic, she loves to attract excessive attention and I don't feel comfortable with her at all but she still begs me to at least let her sit next to me in class 🙃

This ended up being a summary of the last 6 months haha but thank you very much for your message and your words of encouragement, I hope everything is going well for you too ❤✨

April - June 2023 | Reading Wrap Up

Hello hello, it's me!

Another three months have passed, which means I'm back with a reading wrap-up! I've done much much better these past few months because my pace of life has changed, which hopefully means I'll have way more time to read now than I had had until now. Yay for positive changes!

APRIL (3) • Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir - Dolly Alderton • De la Terre à la Lune (Baltimore Gun Club #1) - Jules Verne • A Rational Arrangement (Arranging Paradise #1) - L. Rowyn

April, if slow, was good: Dolly Alderton's memoir was absolutely amazing (although it wasn't until almost 60% when it convinced me because the beginning was very slow), I tackled my French reading goals with a Jules Verne I bought in a flea market in France, and I finally read A Rational Arrangement, after being threatened into it by a couple of friends for months. It was good, but not enough to read its sequel novella!

MAY (7) • Duke I'd Like To F...: A Historical Romance Anthology (Duke I'd Like to F... #1) - Various authors • Loxandra - María Iordanidu, translation by Selma Ancira • Mafalda, volumes 1-2-3-5-8-9-10, edited by Lumen - Quino • I'm So (Not) Over You - Kosoko Jackson

May had a lot of rhythm to it: I started with what I can only describe as "vaguely historical, mostly porn" (fun and entertaining); continued with a really good journey into the Greece at the beginning of the century with Loxandra (very recommended!); followed by seven volumes of the adventures of Mafalda, a very popular Argentinian comic strip not too dissimilar from Calvin and Hobbes, although it's more political and socially critical; and ended with a gay rom-com. Honestly, brilliant all around.

And June was the month I saw my TBR, tackled it, and beat it into submission by reading four books that had been on it for YEARS. All of them were very good, I honestly don't know why I waited that long... I also picked up a Tessa Dare for light reading (as usual, very fun) and read a new-to-me Brazilian author, Nélida Piñón, who sadly wasn't it for me. But overall I'm very happy with my month!

In other notes, I've kept participating in the Goodreads group La vuelta al mundo en 80 libros (I do recommend it if you can read or discuss in Spanish!) and I joined the wonderful Forgotten YA Gems' Summer Reading Bingo Challenge once again (fifth edition!! Time flies!), which means it's time for a fancy bingo card update now that the first month has finished:

Doctor Who: Horror Of Glamrock Review

Introduction

Having Big Finish free on Spotify is truly a blessing in disguise and absolutely amazing. I do not regret beginning to listen to these now. Something I've noticed is how experimental Big Finish is and I find that a huge strength. This story was very unique and fresh and I enjoyed it alot.

Its hilarious to me that people were moaning about a musical number in Doctor Who when Big Finish did it first in this story. Sure Paul MacGann didn't burst into song but it was quite something and very fun. This is one of the stories that has cemented and helped me understand Paul's Doctor and his complex personality.

What I Liked

There's so much to rave about when thinking about this audio drama.

First I loved how creative the concept was and how unique it was. It embraced it's goofy sci-fi style and was fun to listen to. Although a group locked in a room having to hide from a monster isn't new, this concept absolutely is and it was a blast. Loved how we had to rely on audio cues to get the sense of how terrifying the only ones are. Would love to have these guys adapted into live action sometime but for what they were, they were a great villian.

Secondly, I have to praise the incredible music. Tim Sutton did an absolutely fabulous job scoring as every piece of music was an earful delight. They got the Glamrock music aesthetic down and it was nice to listen too. Campy songs aren't done often in Doctor Who but Big Finish does it wonderfully here. There's another story later in this season that also has great music but it'll talk about it when I review that story. Anyway in short, to rock music fans, your in for a treat. Especially with the campy and fun Doctor Who theme variation at the end.

Again the performances. Everyone killed it and made this fun but weird story wonderful. I have to say that Big Finish know how to create a good side cast of characters and I love them for it. So often I grow little to care for any side characters who appear but in Big Finish they're all memorable in the end. It creates a welcome change that I very much like. Paul MacGann killed it as the Doctor and created a complex Doctor with lots of wisdom but still one who's still eager and desperate to help others. He also perfectly portrayed The Doctor's darkside when stakes got higher in the story. I've found myself really getting attached to his character. Lucie Miller was ace in this story too and Sheridan Smiths portrayal just amplifies the characters brilliance even more. Sheridan Smith walked so Catherine Tate could run. She portrays a character still getting use to the Doctor and his time travel antics really well. Side Characters gave amazing performances too. Bernard Cribbins, I know he did this in 2003 but it tears me up to hear his voice again even if he's in a more villainous and morally grey role, just goes to show his incredible range. Una Stubbs also does a fab job as the witty and sassy waiter Flo, she's so charming that I almost pictured her as a companion. Stephen Gately and Clare Buckfield were wonderful as the Tomorrow Twins and had great chemistry together. Both of them really work well together to sell this dynamic and show their contrasting personalities. Lynsey Hardwick was also great as "Auntie Pat" and I hope she'll appear in other stories. Everyone is great and it's almost impossible to praise anything without mentioning the stellar acting.

Finally Lucie and The Doctors dynamic. My opinion after listening to this tardis team is very fluid but this is one of the stories where they really work. They are much more tolerable than they were in Blood Of The Daleks and they're actually really entertaining. I love how despite being only three stories in they're working together as a team and how much potential for good growth they have.

Overall fantastic, absolutely fantastic.

What I Disliked

Pacing, I love these episodes in the style of a New Who format but sometimes it can cause a lot of pacing issues. One such issue is that it gives us less time to build up the side characters and make us care about any death's that might happen. I know it's suppose to be a Doctor Who story but it still feels a bit fruitless to have character deaths without the proper build up.

Other than that though I really enjoyed it and there wasn't much that spoiled it really.

Conclusion

Another fun and fresh adventure that was a pleasure to listen to it. Its theme blends through the story brilliantly and the villian has a really sinister layer underneath once everything comes together. Doctor Who is at it's most fun when it's embracing it's weird sci-fi campy nature.

I recommend every story I've listened to in the 8th Doctor Adventures range but this one specifically if your look for a fun inventive story.

Really love the 8th Doctor's characterisation and development he's going through in the audios. I loved him in the TV Movie but he's on another level in the audios.

So glad I chose the 8th Doctor Adventures as a start to diving into Big Finish its been really fun and interesting.

The First Season Of The 8th Doctor Adventures are free on Spotify and it has been so worth it giving them a listen. Highly recommend.

Una mattina

It took a cup of tea and a stop on a local café to make Levi learn how Hange, his partner perhaps for life, hid something big from him. Something as big as another person, and a baby, involved.

Perhaps going out that day had been a mistake.

Warnings: Levi x Hange x OC; i decided to headcanon Hange as trans with male genitalia and implicitly female upper body, using she/her pronouns; post!war, maybe a bit AU since i changed a tad bit (maybe more) of details to fit what I wanted to write, as you'll read, and probably would sound more modern than it actually should be but oh well; pregnant!OC; kind of pregnant!reader;

Chapter 1.

Four months have passed from the war between Marley and Paradis, or as humanity liked to call it, "The Battle of Heaven and Earth". Since its end, there had been soldiers who went back to Paradis, while some decided to settle in Marley; everyone, at the end of the day, chose what they saw as the best option for them to pursue a new life.

In a nice café in the city centre of Liberio, now rebuilt after the Rumbling destroyed most of it, Lawrence sat on a single table outside, drinking her cup of tea in complete silence. Her golden rings would subtly tinkle everytime they came in contact with the porcelain of the cup, making it the only sound she'd hear.

A quick glance to the sky made her see how the late afternoon sky was clear, an orange hue appearing as the sky prepared itself to set. It was chill enough to keep her jacket suit on and warm enough not to freeze. The café welcomed a few people and their silent chattering, as if no one wanted to break that quietness.

A few tables far from her spot, her eyes caught sight of a man sitting alone. Older than her, pale skin, black hair. A first glance made her learn he had a cane next to him, a scar that went from his right eye, now white and probably blind until the bottom corner of his mouth. The hand he had on the wooden table had its middle and index finger missing. His face was clean shaved, with tiny wrinkles around his eyes. The black suit he wore made him look like even more stoic than he actually was.

She wasn't the type to stare or bother someone with her insistent looks. Lawrence shifted her gaze towards the scenery ahead of her, occasionally looking around the main street. Her free hand, the one that wasn't holding the tea cup, gently caressed her swollen stomach.

The man's senses could easily pick up Lawrence’s stare on him. At first he would ignore it, since he had already come to terms with the fact that he, being the way he is, was likely to grab someone’s attention whether he wanted to or not. Not like Levi was trying to hide anything from others right now, he was just here to enjoy his coffee.

A few more flicks of her eyes and he knew he couldn’t ignore her any longer.

He finally decided to look back at the woman, a neutral expression on his face.

Lawrence tilted her head and met his only functional eye, and she was sure his blind one would've been staring at her with the same intensity, if it still worked. She only gave him a final look of acknowledgement, knowing it was sufficient, and lowered her gaze towards the cup of tea.

There was nothing unusual with the item. It was a normal one, with a bit of the beverage and sugar at the very bottom of it. Lawrence would find more entertainment on staring at the cup than anything else, at the moment. With a slow gesture, she lifted herself up on the chair, leaning back on it. Her hand stopped brushing on her stomach, but stayed on top of her pregnant belly.

A few seconds would pass before Levi decided to break the silence between them, the coldness in his voice making it apparent that he was far from pleased with her staring but understood she didn’t have any foul intentions with it.

“May I ask what exactly are you looking at?”

He stared unblinkingly at her, waiting for her answer. His expression was cold, but there was clear interest in his words.

Lawrence lifted her gaze up at that question, her brown irises meeting Levi's grey eye. It wasn't exactly the way she planned to approach him, but it was so sudden she found herself chuckling quietly, under her breath. Her hand, the one holding the tea cup, placed the item back on its small porcelain plate.

"I'm sorry, I know I've been staring," She began to say, while her fingertips played with one edge of her jacket. A couple of seconds passed, with Lawrence staring at him, biting her bottom lip as she seemed to think about something.

"Hange probably didn't talk about me to any of her colleagues."

For a moment, his expression remained unchanged, not registering the name the woman had mentioned. Eventually, it would suddenly turn in something warmer. Not fully warm, but enough to be noticeable. After all, he wasn’t so stern that he’d be immune to his emotions. As if a switch had been turned on, it seemed that his interest had peaked. A small smile found its way to his face.

“Hange?” He asked softly. His voice was much more gentle now.

Lawrence nodded slightly, while her mouth curled up in a bittersweet smile. The same feeling Levi was experiencing was very known to her. It didn't matter how many weeks and months passed from the end of the war, Hange's passing was still a wound that didn't seem to be healing anytime soon.

"I was her girlfriend." She quietly replied, pursing her lips together after she uttered those words. Her hand slid under her stomach, holding it gently.

Levi’s expression would change once again, this time looking a bit pained. A few blinks would have him snap out of it, and his cold expression would quickly return. For a moment, he would be silent, his own thoughts distracting him from the small conversation they were supposed to have.

That name… it had to be one he’d rather forget, in a way. Not once that name or face left his mind, or his dreams. A reminder of the guilt he felt in her final moments.

He cleared his throat.

“Hange had a girlfriend?”

Her head would nod again, confirming his suspicions. Right after Levi spoke, silence fell upon the two, mostly because the topic felt like a fresh one. Lawrence lowered her gaze on the wooden table in front of her, with her free hand grabbing the tea cup to move her index finger along its edge.

"I found out I was pregnant by her a week after she passed." Lawrence revealed, glancing up at Levi for just a second. Her fingertip tapped on the cup. She wasn't able to say anything else, afterwards.

Silence.

Levi would remain quiet, taking some time to process everything that the woman had said. With Hange gone, his mind was all over the place. There was an empty void left in his heart where Hange had once been. The thought of someone he cared about having her own life, her own person outside of him that she’d held so close for so long? Uncomfortable. Unacceptable.

But then he looked at Lawrence, with her soft, kind eyes, her gentle smile. Hange had loved her.

“I see.”

Moonlight is a 2016 film written and directed by Barry Jenkins, based on the play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell Alvin McCraney.

The film was positively criticized and won numerous awards, including the Best Film Award from the National Society of Film Critics, the Golden Globe for Best Drama and three Oscars for Best supporting actor, for best non-original screenplay and for best film: it is the first LGBT-themed film to obtain this recognition (after Philadelphia), as well as the first with a cast entirely made up of African Americans, and the second for the highest grossing low (behind The Hurt Locker which won in 2010).

Chiron is an African-American child originally from Liberty City, called "Little" by everyone. He and his mother live together in a Miami neighborhood marked by drugs and violence.

As an adult Chiron becomes a drug dealer in a bad neighborhood of Atlanta and there he tries to live on his own, armed with his faithful revolver.

In 2003, Tarell Alvin McCraney wrote a semi-autobiographical play, In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue, partly to deal with the death of his AIDS-stricken mother.

After the release of his first film, Medicine for Melancholy in 2008, Barry Jenkins wrote several screenplays, none of which went into production. He and producer Romanski began brainstorming sessions via video chat twice a month about his projects, and shortly thereafter Jenkins began work on the script for McCraney, which he learned about through Borscht's Miami arts collective. After consulting with McCraney, Jenkins wrote the first draft of the film during a month-long stay in Brussels.

Jenkins sought financing for the film throughout 2013, finding success after sharing the script with Plan B Entertainment executives at that year's Telluride Film Festival. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner became producers of the film, while A24 undertook to finance it and handle worldwide distribution, which also marked the company's first production.

The film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival and subsequently at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, and at the New York Film Festival in October.

The film was chosen as the opening film of the 2016 Rome Film Festival. Its first television appearance took place on 4 March 2018 on Sky Cinema with the title Moonlight - Tre storie di una vita.

On the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes the film receives 98% of positive professional reviews with an average rating of 9.00 out of 10 based on 384 critics, while on Metacritic it obtains a score of 99 out of 100 based on 53 criticism.

La edad de oro

La instalación conjunta se fundamenta en una relectura conceptual de la obra cinematográfica de Luis Buñuel, llevada a cabo por Andrés Cuesta, María Esplugues, Emma García, Laura Salvador y Blanca Serrano.

La propuesta se centra en el análisis del concepto de la violencia del eros y su potencial derivación hacia el tánatos. Partiendo de las escenas que involucran pelucas con forma de cruz y su asociación con la vulva, así como el simbolismo del lodo, la suciedad y la corrupción, y la representación de una fiesta o reunión de hombres burgueses donde las mujeres son tratadas como meros objetos de entretenimiento, se optó por invertir este último punto.

Se transforma la escena en un rastro de acción protagonizado por la víscera femenina, que busca de manera tóxica seducir al hombre. La propuesta incluye la generación de una explosión olfativa, mediante la combinación de diversos elementos que despiertan las feromonas concebidos como una poción de amor. Este compuesto, al mezclarse, produce un aroma más repulsivo que agradable, corrompiendo la esencia del olor a través del exceso.

Adicionalmente, se recurre a una imaginería de asquerosidad sexual, pervirtiendo las estructuras inicialmente concebidas como blancas y puras. Este proceso transforma la pureza en suciedad y repugnancia, eliminando el factor eros del acto sexual como generador de nueva vida y convirtiéndolo en una materia asociada a la muerte.

Age of gold

This group installation is based on a conceptual reinterpretation of Luis Buñuel's film by Andrés Cuesta, María Esplugues, Emma García, Laura Salvador, and Blanca Serrano. The proposal revolves around the analysis of the concept of the violence of eros and its potential derivation towards thanatos.

Starting from scenes involving wigs shaped like crosses and their association with the vulva, as well as the symbolism of mud, filth, and corruption, and the depiction of a party or gathering of bourgeois men where women are treated as mere entertainment, the decision was made to reverse the latter point. The scene is transformed into a trail of action led by the female viscera, seeking to trap the man.

The proposal includes the creation of an olfactory explosion by combining various elements, conceived as a love potion. This mixture, when blended, produces a scent more repulsive than pleasant, corrupting the essence of the odor through excess.

Additionally, there is a utilization of imagery depicting sexual disgust, perverting structures initially conceived as white and pure. This process transforms purity into dirt and disgust, eliminating the eros factor of the sexual act as a generator of new life and turning it into a substance associated with death.

The movie. It might have everything to do with the fact that I saw the movie before reading the book but even if they both have flaws, the movie is more efficient for me.

I'd save the New Year Eve. I like Alex and Henry's energies in this scene, they're very cute and funny and drunk!Alex is an absolute delight to watch (in every way).

I like a lot of things about this line. The Spanish, what it says about not wanting someone to be a secret, about the kind of bullshit you hear about bisexuality and how it speaks about Alex's feelings.

I have two from the same scene.

I like A LOT, the "I'm allowed" from Henry because it's SO IMPORTANT to hear. To hear that even if you're talking to someone you madly love and who is madly in love with you, you're allowed to self-preservation and you should. Think of yourself first and not be ready to sacrifice everything for love without a second thought. Hearing that kind of thought in a romcom actually made me very happy. + I like how Nick delivered that line.

The second one feels like it should cancel to first one but, like always, I like the idea of finding balanced between the two :

"Nothing will ever happen to you. But Henry, nothing will ever happen to you."

17- Who is more in love with the other? Alex or Henry? (we know they’re both equally in love and idiots, just entertain your audience with some arguments to feed the international debate).

Pretty much agreeing with you on the answer here. Their love is very different, but I think Henry would win the debate overall. I haven't enough brain cells left today to justify with smart words but i know he would. Which probably also means Henry is the less balanced/healthy (for himself, mostly) in the relationship. Hopefully, as the fictional time goes on and on, he would be able to work on some of the issues.

18- You have to get a RWRB tattoo (either because you want one or because someone is threatening you and you have to get one to save your life). What do you choose? It can be anything!

My first (and only) idea so far would be a tiny turkey in a very simple style.

Something like this, but cuter and very tiny (barely an inch). The scene is hilarious, I like their energies there (kind of like the new year eve) and mostly, it kind be linked to other things in my life, so it would be a ok tattoo. (i won't do it tho 😂)
