So you did Firebenders imagines but what about the Waterbenders healing you after you get hurt. I know it's cliche but I enjoy the angst.
It's okay to be cliché, and I enjoy the angst too don't worry.
Pairing: Aang, Katara, Korra, Tonraq, Kya II x Reader
Tags: fluff, hurt/comfort, kissing, being worried, healing, injury recovery
A/N: Love how everyone wears blue here except for Aang, you just know he's special. Well he does have blue arrow tattoos.
Tumblr media
Aang doesn't leave your side until he's sure you're healed up. He's not a healer but he can't leave you to deal with this on your own. Just tell him what you need him to fetch for you, where it hurts and he'll do his best to cool that area off.
Katara is able to calm down quickly and get things under control. She needs to, for your sake. You can see her hands shaking just a little bit so you offer her a strained smirk, something like this is a tiny scratch. Besides with her healing you know you'll be okay in no time.
Korra may have been taught by the best healer in the world but she's still learning. For you though she'll put her best foot forward. And hey if that doesn't work she can always try to kiss it better, it might work even better then her waterbending.
Tanraq has always been more of a warrior then a healer but that can come in handy as well. Might not be as quick as healing with waterbending but he can still make sure to ease your pain. He does get a whole lot more protective while you're recovering.
Kya II will fix you so quick you'll forget you were even injured. On the surface at least and yet she'll keep being clingy and hovering around you until you show her, not tell her, that you're fully healed, then and only then will she go in for a big kiss with you.

Blind Dates and DILFS
Ask: Based on the legend of korra, can you write a oneshot featuring Tonraq and a woman reader with public nudity and chastity please? In the fic, Tonraq invites the reader out on a date through the city. As a twist, both of them would be butt naked with the reader having a chastity on. Tonraq would wear the key to her belt around his neck. You can decide on the intimate acts between the two during their date. What do you think?

You can’t help it. You are astonishingly attracted to the sheer dominance radiating off of Tonraq. Able to tell it’s a match made in heaven, you take his hand and walk with him towards the restaurant he insisted on taking you to.
It’s a fancy place, and you can’t help but blush at how he treats you so wonderfully. Engaging in small talk is somehow easy despite your nerves. The way he holds your hand, brushing his thumb over the back of it while he looks into your eyes so intently, listening to you voice your opinions on the city’s new developments and what you think of adding three coffee shops to the same block.
“On one hand, it does seem like a bit of a waste of space, but at least it’s providing jobs to people,” you tell him with a smile.
“Your empathy is refreshing, Y/N,” he tells you with a gentle look on his face as a blush creeps across yours.
“I wanted to know if you’re willing to do something for me? It’s a little…out of the ordinary.”
Curious as a cat, you wonder what it could be that he wants. “Um, yeah, sure. What is it?”
“Take off your panties and give them to me.”
Your jaw opens a tad bit as it goes slack from his words processing. “We’re in public,” is all you can think to respond with. “What if someone sees?”
“What if someone sees? What are they going to do about it?” His smile is playful, and it coaxes you into being wrapped around his finger.
Fingers brush up under your dress. You don’t know why, but you find yourself drunk on his words, falling deeper into a state of bliss as you find the waistband of your black thong. Excitement stirs in your belly while you drag the lacy fabric down your smooth legs. You can’t help but blush, never having done anything like this before in public. You can’t tell if you’re steaming with shame or lust as you ball them up in your hand and give them over to Tonraq.
He takes them from you and opens his fingers. He chuckles. “Black thong, never would have guessed. You seem more like the cute cotton panties type.” He tucks your underwear into his jacket pocket. “You know, you’re so adorable when you blush. I think red is a color that looks best on your skin.”
Unable to think of anything to say, “I…oh- um…” Is your elegant response.
———
After dinner…that’s were things get even more interesting. This man who started out as a bundle of kindness and chivalry becomes a force of nature. He presses you up against his car, trapping you in between his arms. He leans in, but doesn’t move to kiss you. Not yet. His breath is hot on your neck, nose caressing the soft flesh.
“You have no idea what I’ve wanted to do to you all night.”
Biting your lip, lust sings deep within your aching womb at a vicious frequency. You want nothing more than to wrap your legs around his waist and have him take you right up against the car.
You hesitate. “Why don’t you enlighten me?”
Showing instead of telling, he pulls at your skirt. You cry out in embarrassment, your hands shooting straight to his wrists to thwart him. His laugh is sardonic as he catches your wrists with one hand. He uses his free one to continue tugging down your skirt.
“What if someone sees?” You ask, sweat coating your forehead.
He gives you the same response he did at dinner. “So what if someone does?”
You gasp, feeling the fabric pool around your ankles. He orders you to step out of them.
“Are you going to be a good girl if I let go of your hands?” Tonraq questions.
“I…I’ll be good,” you tell him, silently pleading that nobody happens by on the dark street he parked on.
Releasing your wrists, he relieves you of your top and bra. Your breasts bounce as he gives them a sharp slap. His fingers run along your hard nipples.
You aren’t sure what to make of the situation, but you sure as hell aren’t refusing it. It’s exciting, a sexual adventure.
Finally, he presses his lips against yours. If someone were to walk by, you wouldn’t give a fuck in this beautiful moment you’re sharing with the handsome Tonraq. He feels you, getting to know your body, becoming so familiar with your curves and cunt.
Everything about this man makes you feel safe. You feel protected yet ravished in his arms. He’s making you feel like you’re the only woman he wants out of the entire female population. You’ve never met anyone like him.
“Let’s get you back to my place. I have a little surprise for you,” Tonraq whispers in your ear.
———
On your knees before him in front of a fireplace, he adjusts some type of harness that makes your sex inaccessible. You don’t know what it is. It feels odd, cold against your wet clit. What you find even more odd is that there’s a lock on the front.
Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as he finishes locking the harness into place with a key on a necklace. He puts the key around his neck and approaches you. Tonraq caresses your cheek with the back of his fingers.
“Why don’t you open that pretty mouth of yours for me?”
Unable to resist, you part your lips, giving them a slight lick. He sticks two of his fingers in your mouth, gathering your saliva on his tips. He moans at the feeling as he orders you to suck on them.
Nobody has ever done something like this to you: made you take your clothes off in public and put a chastity belt on you as he called it. It was foreign, yet he made it all okay.
“Does it bother you that you can’t touch yourself? Don’t worry. There are other ways to sexually stimulate you, and if you’re good for me, I might just take it off and fuck you until you don’t even know your own name.”
“Please,” you try to say, but it comes out muffled due to his fingers in your mouth.
You notice him starting to undress himself. Where your clothes are still on some street in the city, his lie in a pile right next to your knees. First goes his shirt, then his pants and boxers until he’s wearing nothing but the key to your chastity belt.
“Now, put that pretty mouth of yours to good use,” he commands with his horse cock freely staring you in the face.
It. Is. So. Big.
You’re intimidated by the length and girth that belongs to him as you take it in your mouth. Relaxing your throat, you steadily take him. He moans with satisfaction as your head bobs against his long dick. Your knees begin to ache, put you push those thoughts from your mind as you work on satiating his hunger.
He gently grabs your hair and helps you move at a faster pace. You grab his hips to steady yourself, and you both work as a team until he has reached his climax. His seed rushes down your throat like a waterfall. When he pulls himself from your lips, a bit of the white, hot liquid trails from the corner of your mouth and down your chin. He smirks and wipes it away with the pad of his thumb.
You shift on your knees, needing some kind of friction on your slick pussy. You’re dripping with the need for him to bend you over and take you. The belt makes it hard for you to find any sexual relief, and he notices.
“It won’t work. The only way you’re going to find any relief for that tight cunt is through me.” Tonraq pinches your nipples, giving them a flick. “Beg me. Beg me for relief.”
Whimpering, you do as he directs. “Please, take it off and fuck me. I want you deep inside of me. Please, I want relief. I’ll do anything. I’ve been good, and I’ll be even better. I’ll be so good for you.” You reach out and grab his hand, hoping he’ll understand even more how passionate you are. “I just want you. I need you. You’re the only one who can give me what I need. Please? Help me?” Your lip pokes out in such a cute way, and he can’t resist.
He takes off your chastity belt with his key and lifts you up. Your legs wrap around his hips as he takes you to his bed for the best sex of your life.

male!reader x Tonraq x Water Tribe Men | nsfw, smut, p*rn without plot | dom. top. reader (AMAB) |not proofread | wc: 2k
warnings: sexual humiliation, gangbang, chastity cage (Tonraq), creampies, overstimulation
Tumblr media
req: So for my request, based on LOK, can you write a one-shot featuring Tonraq and a male reader with gangbangs and humiliation, please? In the fic, Tonraq loses a bet with his Water Tribe friends and has to treat them to a gangbang session. The reader is the main man in charge of the session as he preps Tonraq by stripping him naked and applying a chastity cage to his cock. You can decide on the intimate acts he and the other men would do to Tonraq. But I would like it if at some point Tonraq was given a multilayered cloth gag made of the men's used loincloths. What do you think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You're going to lose" Tonraq scoffs, crossing his arms across his broad chest as he stares down at (Y/N) who is unabashedly laid across the pelts of the fur of their shared tent. "You have that little faith in me?" he pokes him with his feet. (Y/N) rolls away from his path, laying on his back and fluttering his eyes closed as he places one leg on his knee with his arms pillowing his head. "You suck at skiing, Plite will fair far better than you. It's just a fact", Tonraq's brow twitches and he breaths sharply through his nose as he slips his innerwear on and then his jacket. "You may be the heir of the Northern Water Tribe but sometimes, a common-born is better at certain things and you've got to live with it —" (Y/N) grunts as Tonraq presses his foot on his stomach, leaning on his elbows as he glares up at the chief's son. A sharp smirk causes Tonraq to dig his heel in. "Aren't you a brave one," (Y/N) said. Tonraq elects to ignore that tone in his voice and merely glances at the mouth of the tent when he hears the cheers of their fellow comrades calling for him. Tonraq's hair sways with every purposeful step though he pauses sharply just as he lifts the flaps of their tent to look over his shoulder, a haughty expression written all over his chiselled face. "Don't forget who you're speaking to, soldier". Tonguing his cheek, (Y/N) rolls his eyes and sits up properly. Soldier? That's what Tonraq whimpers out when he's begging to be filled by his dick? A frustrated sigh escapes the capable warrior as he combs back his hair with a derisive laugh. The chief had sent a small but elite group of the Northern Water Tribe's newest edition to their military to the further corner of their territory to intercept some illegal poaching. They'd done just that and were now waiting to see if the poachers had indeed had back-up like they had claimed. Bored out of their mind, and as young men do, they decided to entertain themselves with silly competitions like penguin sleighing, skiing treacherous rocky slopes, and iceberg rowing. Tonraq had to lead the entire thing. He'd proven himself a worthy leader and strong warrior of the North, and his ego was a fucking monster as a result of it. (Y/N) was the witness to most of Tonraq's boyish ego — along with his blubbering, pathetic, moans at night. A groan is (Y/N)'s belated, annoyed, reply and he's slipping on his outerwear to witness this 'glorious' competition. Following the indents in the snow and the sounds of boisterous laughter he finds himself on the edge of a snowy slope where a few waterbenders were making ice sleds.
"You look pissed" Plite muses. "What happened?" his pale eyes shoot past Tonraq's broad shoulders and scoff as he spots (Y/N) with his arms indignantly crossed. "A lovers quarrel?" Tonraq warns him with a glance but Plite doesn't catch it. His mouth is in an open smirk, a breath of disbelief escaping him as he laughs at the sight behind him. So Tonraq turns, brows furrowed and frown etching into his face before they disappear in a flash. (Y/N) was waving around his underwear, twirling it around his pointer finger as if it wasn't Tonraq's dignity that followed the brash display. He hates himself for the heat that pools in his stomach as their eyes lock. The gaze of the young men that he had victoriously led in the mission was no longer filled with awe or respect — it was unabashed lusting. They make way as he barrels past with his tall frame and squared shoulders.
"Clench your teeth too much and you'll burst a vein, Ton-Ton" he purrs, evading Tonraq's desperate swipes. "What the hell do you think you're doing, sold-" He had seen it coming, call it instincts if you will, but he was too slow to have stopped him. (Y/N) had his cum stained underwear pressed firmly between his palm and Tonraq's face. "You really think you're in any position to make threats?" Tonraq isn't stupid. He most definitely isn't weak either. He could easily escape this — even if (Y/N)'s grip is so strong Tonraq's cheeks ache. Tonraq was a powerful waterbender. He could easily knock him back. Put an end to this public humiliation. Regardless of that fact, they both revel in Tonraq's submission — in front of the other men as well. "You really are one dumb fucking bitch. What? You can't use your brain for anything else except for sucking dick?" Tonraq's emotions waver but (Y/N)'s doesn't. He inches closer, snow crunching under his shoes before his right places itself over Tonraq's. He winces and (Y/N) digs his weight. Tonraq obeys his whims and kneels in the snow. The shock is palpable. Plite, on the other hand, rolls his eyes and scratches the back of his head with a sigh. It was bound to happen. They were young men, bored out of their minds — Tonraq and his lover weren't exactly quiet when they "headed back to bed" early after dinner. Plite wasn't too bothered since they'd also been this way whilst training. "Spirits help me — Hey! Are we sleighing or not? It took forever to set this up" (Y/N) pretends to muse about the thought. His lower lip pushed into a pout as he tilts his head. Tonraq feels his grip loosen but chokes when the taste of his semen and his lover's clothed fingers evade his tastebuds. "Yeah! He'll sled, but" He straightens up to turn to the others, Tonraq bowing his head as tremors of pleasure snake towards the growing tent in his pants. "He'll keep that in his mouth and...whatever you bet before this doesn't matter. Win or lose, Ton-Ton's gonna treat his superiors to all the nice warm and wet holes he has".
Tumblr media
"Does victory taste sweet, Plite?" he grunts, toes curling as gagging ensues from between his toned legs. "Hah — It would be sweeter if it was properly earned but this slut was hardly trying to win the competition" Plite dug his heels into the pile of furs and bucked his hips up. Tonraq's throat was tighter than any cunt Plite had ever sunken his member into. Slicked with drool and squeezed his cockhead with every drag in. The inky locks that were once the envy of all were now stuck to his forehead, darkened with perspiration while he was jerked back and forth. He laughed sharply and shoved Plite's shoulder. "Don't be a sore winner, you've nothing to complain about when your dick is getting such royal treatment" The jab is not lost to Tonraq. Despite it, he's sucking in his cheeks to work on making Plite cum down his already-stained throat. There are shadows in the corner of his eyes. Thick, muscled, legs move impatiently as they wait their turn to see their perverse captain take in their dick and their comrade's dick. The scent of sweat and musk is heavy in the air, it makes Tonraq's cloudy mind sink further into a state of ecstasy. The salty taste of precum makes him gulp and Plite curses as Tonraq's throat tightens around him as a result. (Y/N) leans over, teeth biting down on his shoulder. It sends shivers up Tonraq's spine. "Enjoying yourself, slut?" Tonraq moves to pull away so he could respond but Plite curses and grabs a fistful of his hair, pulling him down his dick again. Tonraq gags as his nose is pressed against the patch of pubic hair but like a good bitch he takes it with no complaints. (Y/N) feels up his throat, chuckling at the dick indent that he can feel. "Don't enjoy yourself too much now, not like your pathetic cock's going to get to cum anyways" The reminder makes his cock twitch. It's bumping into the cock cage it's confined in and Tonraq wants to smile but that's near impossible when he's sucking someone off. Thankfully, Plite finishes. He stands, panting as he looks down at Tonraq. Like he was taught to, Tonraq kneels to open his mouth to show just how good he is at swallowing cum. Next, he kisses Plite's cock, murmuring his thank you all the way to his heavy balls. Plite grunts, smirking as Tonraq mumbles thank yous between licking and sucking before shoving him back. Tonraq simply continues his repetitive mumbles, back flushed against (Y/N)'s chest as another man comes to take Plite's spot. "His cunt," the man says. (Y/N) chuckles and Tonraq's nipples are pinched. It makes him arch his back, keening as he tosses his head back. His cock cage is thrust forward by his own doing while (Y/N) coos into his ear. "Well? Get to it, bitch" Tonraq hastily gets onto his hands and knees. His face no inches away from (Y/N) who has two other men behind him. They're stroking their cocks, all hung and heavy and Tonraq feels drool slip past his lips. The man behind him kneels, spitting onto his puffy hole and wastes no time in sinking his fat cock inside of Tonraq's abused hole. "Shit" the man says "It doesn't even look like an asshole anymore, really does look like a cunt". "Is he still tight?" Plite wonders aloud as he wipes his cock with his loincloth.
"Nah," Tonraq's heart sinks. "It's sloppy, hey — tighten up for me" Tonraq grunts as a cock was shoved his way and as he opens his eyes (Y/N) was no longer in sight. Just the two men. "Open up," one guides their cock to his face and the other gently does the same to Tonraq's right hand. They're all over him. Sweat drips onto him and cum dries only to be reapplied again and again and Tonraq's in heaven at it all. Or, he would be. All these cocks are amazing. But he wants yours the most. He catches glimpses of you between the bodies. There's a cock siding between his curled arms at one point, another slipping between his tits when they wanted him on his back. Plite returns, clicking his tongue to tell the others to take their cocks away from Tonraq's sore jaw. "Ah! Yes! Fuck — Fuckfuckfuck — Fuck me! Your cock feels so good — Ngh! Ah-Uh! Uh! Uh! Ye-Yeah!" "Spirits above" Plite guffaws. "What a mouth" (Y/N)'s laughter makes Tonraq's eyes widen. He's behind Plite, the key to the chastity device just dangling around his neck and hidden by the shirt he wears. "You don't like how he sounds, Plite?" Plite shakes his head. "He sounds like a common whore, I thought what with him being royalty and all he'd sound nicer but...I guess not," Tonraq mewls as he feels his cock filling up reach him again only to be cut off once again.
"Please, please!" Tonraq's cheeks are wet with precum and tears. At this point, he was sure he'd pleasured the whole group they'd come with, some more than once. His cunt's barely keeping the cum inside anymore and all this talk about him, his pathetic cock, his sloppy asshole, his big tits, his status being downgraded — it's all overwhelming and he's jerking his hips in a desperate attempt to plead for release. "Please, please, let me cum, let me cum. I'm so sorry, sir — I-I won't be disrespectful again please just —" The taste of sweat and cum fills his mouth. (Y/N)'s two fingers burrow themselves deeper into Tonraq's mouth as he shoves the used loincloth in Tonraq's mouth. "Didn't you hear him? Plite says your voice annoys him," Tonraq sobs, torso twisting in retaliation so (Y/N) straddles his stomach as he sighs. His touch on Tonraq's face is soft and gentle, such a contrast to the men taking turns fucking into him. He leans in, kissing Tonraq's forehead before whispering into his ear: "One more load, Ton-Ton. One more and I'll give you what you want".
He weeps but nods. Always so good for you. (Y/N) continues to straddle Tonraq, watching him closely as his eyes roll to the back of his head, how his nipples are so sensitive and glossy from spit and cum, how he's completely marked with white and (Y/N) can't help the grin that grows on his face. The man finishes inside him and Tonraq's rewarded with a chaste kiss on his forehead. "Have you learned your lesson, slut?" He nods, eyes hazy a quick pinch to his nipple has him groaning as he forces himself to get through the haze. His hands carefully take off the chastity cage. Tonraq weakly thrusts his hips up, head lolling to the side as streams of cum leak out of his hole. "Cock...m'want your cock..." (Y/N) barely catches what Tonraq's trying to say but once he does he shakes his head, chuckling. "No, no, what's the point of fucking such a used cunt? I'm barely gonna feel a thing, no. Don't be greedy, Tonraq" Despite him wanting to be filled with his favourite dick, Tonraq stills whimpers and cants his hips into (Y/N)'s hands. "That's it, baby, thaaat's it"

Tonraq (escape from the element)
Male reader x tonraq
Legend of korra was always one of my favorite shows and I just love the dad korra has, even tho she doesn’t deserve him 🥺 anywho I’ve been wanting to do a male reader for a while now but I might stop after this cause I’m not good at the writing 😭
TW slight assault warning and drowning, tw for slight mention of rape and sexual assault, tonraq being a hero and just a red lotus tw your welcome
Tumblr media
From what you could remember, tonraq was always there for you, you both met when he barely married and you came to the Southern water tribe, you where a teenager that was looking for a new life away from your family, and tanraq took you under his wing, helping you to your new home, helping you do chores and trying to find you a new life here
But through it all he stayed by your side, some thought it was weird for the chief to be hanging out with you, especially when penma gave birth to Korra, the people of the tribe took note of you always goggling korra and holding her, to the dismay of his wife
You always seemed to be near the man, and his family, and most took note of the way you looked at him after korra was born, and every since korra was found out to be the next avatar you seemed to drift away, to the dismay of the family.....
It was a surprise and heartache for tonraq, since you reminded his of himself, a young male that was barely getting there life together, and now you seem to disappear from the family, just becoming an
You where a water bender of the northern tribe but after a falling out with your family you decided to come to the southern at the ripe age of 17, it was a tough decision but you made it work, you where expecting a quiet life alone, with no one bothering you
But then came tonraq, he seemed to change your life for the better, and you can’t help but feel great full... but then things slowly started to change, you where in love with the man the day you met him, always having such a smile on your face when you saw him, but you soon learned of his wife... and then a  child
Your heart hurt every time you saw them but you put on a smile for everyone, hiding away your love and feelings for the man as you slowly drifted away from him... only becoming a dirty though in your mind or a wet dream to you...
But after the years it seemed to become a memory, you split away from the family soon after korra left to become the avatar, you almost never left your house, you got used to being alone, having the peace you almost never got..
and yet here you are, standing at the door in shock as you see tonraq there, the man giving you a smile as he holds a present
“hello, it’s been a while hasn’t it, may I come in”
You sit uncomfortable as you see tonraq in front of you, pouring you a drink of the beer as he smiles at you “i would’ve thought by now you would already be settled in, having a wife and kid”
“i-I’ve never really been into that kind of stuff, especially here.” You say embarrassed, tonraq can’t help but give a little smile at your words
“i suppose you haven’t, though you where really good with korra, she wanted to come with me to see you but I went against it”
You raise an eyebrow surprised at this before you think about it, why was he here in the first place... you’ve made sure to stay clear of the family ever since you fell for the man
“how have you been, it’s been four years since we talked, it seemed like you where avoiding me” the man says giving you a side glance, you try not to shake from the look before you twirl your glass around
“Ive been fine..... I-I know korra has seen me around, she usually tries to steal my attention when I go outside”
tonraq laughs at this “it’s because your her favorite, she stills asks me when your coming over again every day, I think she likes you better then her mother”
Your eyes widen at the sentence before you blush, tonraq smiling at you before fixing his hair
“i mean it... penma doesn’t understand korra as much as I wanted her too, she stills wants the girl to play with dolls”
You look at the ground at this, you never got quite along with penma... she always seemed bothered by your presence, she was the main reason you left them so long ago
“She’s a nice lady... I’m sure she’ll come around” you say not wanting to put bad things into the air, she is his wife after all
Tonraq just shakes his head at this, taking a huge sip of the alcohol “i wish that was true... but I just don’t think it’s gonna happen”
“She’s her mother, mother’s always understand there children... mostly” you say  sadly as you look down, twirling the liquid in your cup as you see tonraq look at you
“You know.... ever since I met you I’ve found penma to be..... well, not the same as you, i get myself thinking of you most days when I’m with her”
You cough at this as you almost spill your drink, looking at the man with your face red as fire
Your in shock from the sudden words, did he really just say that to you or is this a dream??
A blush immediately goes to your face, you don’t know what to say to him as you feel your body stiffen, tonraq doesn’t look away from you as he smirks
You don’t get to say anything else when you hear a knock on the door, tonraq raising an eyebrow as you look outside seeing no one
“where you expecting company over this late?” He asks feeling slightly worried as you shake your head, the man quickly gets up walking to the door as you follow
Something isn’t right here...
Before you can ask tonraq anything the man immediately grabs you, pushing you both to the ground as fire blast the door open
The red lotus... you quickly regain your thoughts as tonraq sees them rush into your house, ready to kill you both in seconds as you try to reach for your drink, wanting to try and defend yourself in some way
But before you can a metal whip latches itself to you, pulling you away from it as your head hits the side of your table, making your vision go black for a second
All you hear is tonraq yelling before getting restrained himself, the armed men yelling things as four hold you down, putting chains on your hands as you yell
Your name gets shout as you quickly open your eyes, feeling yourself get dragged over to tonraq, you look over to the man as he struggles, a gag over his mouth as he tries to yell your name
A hand goes over your mouth though as you get pushes to the ground, the fresh snow hitting your skin as men go to you
“so, this is a man that fancies tonraq, what a shame we have to kill a kid” the leader says looking at you as your eyes widen, tonraq yelling and muffled yells going into the distance as the man grabs your throat
“He’s a cute one too, let’s have our fun first with this one”
Before you know it your on the ground as your clothes get ripped form your body, your firm jacket now being discarded as the icy cold hits you, your screams and yells being drawn silent with a gag
All you can do is moan and muffle yell for tonraq, the man doing the same too you as the men hold him down, tonraq looking at you as you helplessly kick at the men
Your eyes being wide and scared as they pull your pants down, screaming into the gag as the red lotus just laughs, tonraqs eyes open wide as he sees the red lotus men push your head into the snow realizing what they will do to you as he glares
Quickly hitting the men that held him down as he water bends shards at those who surround you, the men shreakimg before falling to the ground, you gasping for air as tears stroll down your face
Tonraq smiles at you before he gets hit over the head, immediately falling to the ground as the men pull you over to him, you try and cry out his name but the red lotus just hold you down as they connect chains to your legs, the men talking to the leader as he spits out blood from tonraqs punches
“Throw them in the water”
Your eyes widen at this before you scream as tonraqs limp body gets thrown into the frosty lake, quickly sinking down as he scream for him, you don’t get to struggle before your hit across the face, the gag you had on falling from your mouth as you gasp
““Tonraq-”
But it’s useless as you feel your body sink down, the water going into your throat as you see the light from above stop, you shake and struggle from the chains before you feel your heart stop burning, your hands and eyes stop being bloodshot as you calm down, feeling yourself slowly let the water take you away...
Your eyes having black dots on them as your vision blurs, you slowly see tonraq too, still unconscious from the blow as your eyes go to him... this is the end... right?
That’s what you though before gasping, finally realizing what you where just excepting as you feel your hands escape the chains.. you quickly waterbending a frozen spike
Hitting at your feet as the chains break, feeling yourself finally being able to swim as you grab ahold of the sinking tonraq, the man sturring a little but not awakening
You shake him to no avail before blushing at your try, finally having the balls before you pray that he won’t hate you, before you connect your lips onto him, trying to give him your last oxygen as your eyes close
Feeling yourself needing it but going limp...
So it really was the end...
““Wake up!”
You gasp awake before rolling to your side, coughing up water as tonraq pats your back, holding you close as you gasp and wheeze
“finally I thought- oh thank the spirits your alive!” Tonraq says gasping as he holds you up, you can’t say anything as you think about what happened, tears rolling down your face as your body shakes from the cold and fear
“we... we where almost killed... I was almost... t-they.. Your family!”
You say the tears flowing heavily as you look at him, tonraq eyes widening from your sudden burst as you look the way to the village
“korra and penma! They will go after them! You have to save your family tonraq!” You yell worried for the poor girls safety...
He just smiles at you before pulling your wet hair out of your face
“you don’t need to worry Korras with the airbenders under tight security, as for penma...”
“but your wife...” you say sniffling as you flinch, tonraq just smiles at you before going down and kissing you
your to shocked to move at this as the man holds you close, still embracing you as he pulls away, you only could look up at him as tears go down your face
Tonraq smiling at this as he wipes them away, taking his discarded jacket and pulling it over you
“We just keep your body temperature up, they seem to only leave are underneath wear and jackets, probably to stage our deaths... you must stay warm my love”
Your eyes widen at his sentence as you look down, covering yourself as you blush “l-love?”
He only smirks at your sentence as he holds you still “why yes, I’ve seen the way you’ve looked at me since the day you came here, our love will be strong enough to end the red lotus from harming korra just as much it was for you to save me”
“besides, I’ve already chosen you to be my lover, just embrace it”
Srry this took so long I was getting the kinks right and my computer shut down which erased the conversation for this request 😭, hopefully I remember everything and got it correct

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader) Part 36
Y/N ALONE - PART ONE
Y/N’S POV
Wind rushes past my face as Spectre flies high into the air and dark sky at a speed that surpasses the speed of his previous flights.
FUCK FUCK FUCK
Korra has been gone for six months?! What happened to her?! Is she okay?! Is she safe?! Where is she?!
A low grumble emits from the bison’s mouth, its own way of questioning its human partner in their bond.
Where are we going? That’s what Spectre is trying to ask. A simple question. A simple fucking question.
And my answer?
“I don’t know, Spectre.” I mutter. Then, I shout into the night. “I DON’T KNOW!”
How am I supposed to find Korra when I have no damn clue where she is?
I rushed off without any plan, without any resources, and without telling my friends where I am going at all. They all must be worried sick.
I don’t have any food and drink with me. None at all. That’s a great way to quickly starve and dehydrate.
Should I turn back?
I look behind me and I see Air Temple Island, shrinking second by second as we get further and further away.
The temptation nearly takes me over. Logically, this is ridiculous. This is completely irrational. All the odds are against me. Really, I should turn back and plan with the others.
But…Korra has been gone for six months. She’s all alone. What if she’s been captured this entire time? What if she’s in danger?
The image of Tonraq holding a nearly dead Korra in his arms flashes in my mind’s eye and its all I can see. And, just like that, my decision has been made. Frowning in a determined gaze, I turn back to the open sea in front of me and I tighten my hold on the rope used to guide my bison.
“Keep a steady course, Spectre. Korra’s out there, somewhere. She might be in danger, and we must find her. I will find her. I don’t know how, but I will.”
“I will find you, Korra!”
I open my eyes and spin around in. No-one is here.
I’ve just finished counting to thirty seconds. There’s no way Korra managed to find a good hiding spot already, right?
Hmph. Well, if she did, it won’t matter. I’m the best seeker in the Southern Water Tribe! I’ll find her quicker than Prince Zuko found Avatar Aang during the war! I’ll show her!
I rush out of the room and look down left and right corners of the house. It doesn’t have much, just boring brown walls with little additions of paintings of some boring stuff I have no idea what are about.
Hm. Which way did she go? Left or right?
A short giggle echoes down the corridor from the right!
Ah ha! Korra is so bad at this!
“I’ve got you now, Korra!” I shout out and begin rushing down the corridor. “You may be the Avatar but you can be so easily caught!”
When I reach to the end of the corridor, I see two doors. One leads to the outside and the other to a very dark room.
Uh oh.
Knowing Korra, she would probably enter that one. She knows I get a bit scared in the dark so she thinks I won’t go in there! Well, I’ll show her!
I take a super, super deep breath and I charge!
“I’ve got you, Korra!”
I barge through the room and…
Nothing.
Huh?!
The room’s dark but I can see just enough and…there’s nothing. Just a bunch of boxes! Maybe she’s in the boxes?
I walk up to one of them and open the lid.
“BOO!”
“AH!”
I jump back and fall to the ground on my butt in shock!
Then, Korra starts laughing! LAUGHING!
“Hahaha, I got you!” She lets out, voice high. “You were like “I got you now!” and I was like “Boo!” and you were like “Ahh!”
UGH!
“Kooorrraaaa” I whine, getting up and brushing the dust from my clothes. I put my hands on my hips and I pout. “That’s not how you play hide and seek! You hide, I come and find you!”
“But its so borrriiinnnngggg sitting here and waiting for you to find me!” Korra whines back. “You’re so bad at being seeker, you would take hours to find me!”
WHAT?!
“I’m an amazing seeker!” I argue, crossing my arms.
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Are too-ughhh, you tricked me!”
That only makes Korra start laughing even harder, her head back in the air and arms holding her belly.
Ugh!
But then, I look at the box and a smile creeps onto my lips. I quickly rush around the box and push so Korra spills out of it like water!
“Hey!” Korra lets out.
I cross my arms and smirk. “That’s what you get for calling me a bad seeker!”
“Well, I’m the Avatar so, whatever!”
“Oh, here’s the “I’m the Avatar” card.”
“That’s it!”
She lunges at me and I fall to the ground on my back with her on top of me. We have a habit of play fighting and this is so different as we twist and turn, giggling as we do so.
“Admit you’re a bad seeker!”
“Never!”
Then, the door suddenly opens wide and orange light pours into the room. Three people stand by the door’s entrance. On the left I see Dad and the other two are White Lotus members. Uh oh.
“Y/N, your father is here to collect you.” The White Lotus Guard says. “Korra, you got to get back to preparing for your final waterbending test.”
Oh man. Playtimes over?
“Okay.” We both say sadly and we get up on the floor.
“Good luck on your waterbending test.” I tell her.
Korra just smirks and crosses her arms. “I don’t need luck. I’m a waterbending master.”
I chuckle a bit and smile. I like seeing Korra so confident of herself. It makes me feel nice.
“Of course, Sifu Korra.” I tell her jokingly. Then, I pull her into a hug. She hugs me back even tigther and even lifts me up in the air.
After a few moments of silence, she puts me back down and we reluctantly let go of each other.
“Bye, Korra.”
Korra smiles softly. “Bye, Y/N.”
I walk up to Dad and we start leaving the compound.
“Did you have a fun time with Korra?” He asks me with a warm smile.
I nod really quickly. “Yep! We played a bunch of games! We played hide and seek before you guys came but Korra just wanted to scare me. She said I was a bad seeker too!”
Dad just chuckles and ruffles my hair. “Well, I think you are an amazing seeker. You always managed to find mum and I when we play together.”
See? Dad thinks I’m a great seeker!
“I tried to tell her that!” I huff out, then pout again. “She won’t believe me.”
Dad just ruffles my hair again. “Well, I suppose you would have to find and catch her next time.”
I smile. “You’re on it! I will! I’ll show her!”
Next time, Korra. Next time I will find you!
Hours. I have been awake for hours to the point that dawn has just broken loose and I’ve had no clue or trace or any idea how to find Korra.
And I’m fucking exhausted. So is Spectre. Each hour his flight speed decreases little by little. Now, he’s flying at the air bison equivalent of a snail’s pace.
Dammit.
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I let out a frustrated groan. “Land, Spectre. We need the rest.”
Rumbling in satisfaction, he lands us to a small clearing on a mountain surrounded by an army of trees. Then, I fall on my back and let my furry friend’s soft hair bring me to a welcoming darkness and I let myself fall into its arms like an old friend.
Images flash through my mind. Images of an Earth Kingdom town filled with standard homes and standard citizens. Poverty and dirt fill the dark alleys like a disease waiting to be unleashed from the shadows.
Another flash and the scene has changed. This time, it’s a much bigger building, similar to that of a warehouse. People surround the entrance with intrigue and excitement.
Again, the scene changes. Now, its an arena, decorated with green, gold and silver with a symbol of a powerful fist crushing rock in the centre, with a claustrophobic cage trapping it. The image lingers and, this time, I hear voices surrounding me.
“You know, you look very familiar. Yeah, you ... you kind of look like that Avatar girl!”
“I get that a lot.”
“Whatever happened to her anyway?”
“I wouldn’t know.”
That voice…
“KORRA!”
I leap forward as my shout echoes across the mountains, so loud that it results in a scattering of birds. Spectre roars in panic at being abruptly awoken at the sound of my scream. Panting frantically with sweat flowing down my face like a waterfall, I bury my face into my hands.
That was Korra’s voice. That was definitely Korra’s voice. But those images…
When I fully joined the Air Nation and began my studies and training, I focused a lot on trying to gain more visions in hopes of finding any more clues on what the vision I experienced when Korra and I were held captive by Tarrlok was about. I barely remembered any of it. Future visions I had had the same fate, I barely remembered it.
Now, though? Now, I’m glad to know I was able to remember all of it.
It’s a clue. Korra was definitely in the Earth Kingdom and she was definitely fighting in what seemed to be an arena. But why? What for? Did Korra just…give up and start fresh?
No. No, don’t be stupid. Korra doesn’t give up. No, there’s got to be a good reason why she was there. Maybe she was forced to fight? But her conversation with that man didn’t appear like she was forced. So, what?
Releasing my face, I look back up and the black-orange sky is now gone, replaced by the blueish ocean high above symbolising that it is now midday. I have been asleep for a good amount of time. Now, I’m recharged.
Spectre grumbles in a questioning tone. Are you okay?
“I’m okay, Spectre.” I tell him, patting him. “I just had a vision. We now have a clue on where Korra is.”
From the vision, I saw that the town was right by the infamous woods and swamps. And, I have a feeling I will let the universe guide me to the right location. Just follow my gut.
“Let’s get going, boy. Yip yip.”
TIME SKIP
After a few hours of exploring the kingdom, I find it. The town looks just like what it did in my visions. Average rundown buildings with alleys littered with rubbish. We ride past it for a few minutes, trying to find that one building that housed the cage fight. It takes a while but eventually a find it.
“We’re here, Spectre.” I tell him. “Good job. You stay up here. I’ll call you when I’m done.”
After a grumble of acknowledgement, I flip off the air bison and with my airbending I propel myself like a fireball towards the building. Then, just before I hit the ground, I flip forward and spin around, slowing my speed until, finally, I land gracefully on the ground. As I do so, I see a number of citizens around me gazing at me with awe, jaws dropped in amazement.
I ignore their looks. Instead, I march towards my destination and head inside the building. After a few quick steps, I am greeted by a familiar site: An arena surrounded by a silver-grey cage, filled with colours of forest-green and golden-yellow with a powerful symbol of a intimidating fist destroying a piece of earth with its power.
This is the place all right. This is where Korra was. But now the questions are just resurfacing. Why was she here? Was she forced to fight? Or did she come here on her own accord?
“Oh, uh, you’re an Air Nomad!”
I turn to the left at the sound of the familiar voice. He’s a skinny man wearing a dark green jacket of some sorts with a shirt of a lighter shade of the same colour underneath as well as a grey, unkempt and baggy trousers. As for his face, he has a short and narrow spiky black hair with a thin black moustache and dark brown eyes. His sharp eyebrows are raised in surprise at seeing an Air Nomad of all people in such a violent setting.
That voice. I know that voice. It’s the one from the vision. This is the man who talked to Korra.
I approach the figure with a glare. “Are you in charge of this establishment?”
The sound of my steel voice causes him to back away a bit. Then, realising that he’s making a fool of myself, leans forward and stands straighter in an attempt to appear confident. “I am. What’s this about?”
“I am here to discuss about one of your fighters.” I tell him. “Specifically, one from a recent fight.”
Clearly my answer isn’t what he was expecting as he frowns slightly in confusion. “Uh, sure. But you do realise how many fighters come here, right? I don’t keep a log or anything.”
Dammit. Just when I thought I couldn’t run in any more problems Still, any bit of information will be useful.
“I am aware.” I lie so I don’t betray my intimidating image. “However, the one I am looking for will be easy for you to remember. Did you hire a fighter that looked like Avatar Korra?”
“Uh, yeah.” He says, confusion growing. “I did. She came in, asked to enter, got her butt kicked, I paid her, and she went on her way.”
So, she did come here on her own accord. But why? Surely, it couldn’t have been for money.
“Did you see where she went?”
The frown on the man’s face increases. “What’s this about?”
“Did you see where she went?” I repeat, adding further steel to my voice. I don’t have time to answer this guy’s question.
“No, I didn’t!” The man sputters, leaning back slightly in anxiousness. “I don’t track my clients!”
I look away from the man and mutter a curse under my breath. Dammit!
I guess that means I have to ask around if anyone’s seen Korra which might take a while. Terrific.
“What did she look like?”
“Blue eyes, short hair, wearing green.” He lists off. “She wasn’t Avatar Korra, right? She fought terribly!”
I shoot a glare back at the man and he silences himself immediately.
“Thank you for your cooperation.” I tell him professionally. “You will not reveal the details of this conversation to anyone. Is that understood?”
He nods. “Yep! You got it! Understood!”
I nod in return and, just like that, I walk back into the outside world.
Korra might still be in this town. Somewhere. She’s also trimmed her hair. Huh, Korra with short hair. Never thought that would happen.
I glance at my dark skinned hands that surround the bold and blue arrow tattoos that symbolise my mastery of airbending. I changed too…in more ways than one.
Staring into my eyes I see only oblivion, a sad darkness emanating over them. But that darkness is overwhelmed by the brightness that covers my skin.
Glancing upwards at my reflection from the dark ocean to the large, tattooed arrow on my forehead that stretches all way down my back. Moving my arms upward, I examine the same arrows on my hands.
It’s official. I am an airbending master. The first master of the Harmonic Convergence airbenders. The first master of the new airbenders.
The official ceremony of my ascension has been over for hours now. Everyone has either gone back to Republic City or gone to sleep on Air Temple Island. It was great. It was really great.
And yet…
Two years. It’s been two years since I’ve spoken to Korra and my parents. None of them were here to see me in my proudest moment of being an Air Nomad.
As much as I enjoyed and was honoured by it all, their absence amplified the emptiness in my heart. I really, really wish they were there.
Tears land directly on the arrows and my hands tremble.
Dammit.
“Y/N?”
Jinora!
Wiping the tears away, I turn to the source of the voice. Standing a few meters before me is Jinora in her pyjamas. Her hair is blowing elegantly in the wind and her eyes wash with concern.
“Jinora.” I greet in a neutral tone, hoping to not betray my sadness. “I hope I didn’t wake you.”
She shakes her head and she walks a few steps forward until she reaches my side, both of us standing at the very edge of the port of the island, pointing in the direction of the mystical and glowing golden lights of Republic City.
I turn back to gaze at the city alongside her, my cape breezing in the wind. The wind also brings a new chilly feeling to my now shaven head and I rub it a bit.
“Not used to it, right?” Jinora asks with amusement.
I chuckle, grateful at the attempt to lighten the somewhat sombre mood. “Yeah. I never thought I would go bald. I have to say, I’m really not liking the look. Can’t wait to get my beautiful hair back.”
The younger airbender laughs. “That’s exactly how I felt when my hair was shaven.“ she says as she touches a strand of hair and placing it away from her face. “I was relieved when I finally grew out my hair again.”
I hum in acknowledgement. “That was two years ago. It’s crazy how fast time has passed. Sometimes it feels like my life is riding on the fastest satmobile in the world.”
“I get what you’re feeling.” Jinora says. “With my new role as a master, I’ve gotten a lot of new responsibilities which means I’ve been too busy to notice the passage of time.”
“Well, now I am a master, we can share the responsibilities and your busy time could be halved. I’m sure Kai would really like that.”
Even in the night sky, I can see the red tinge on Jinora’s cheeks. “Shut up.”
“No, really.” I assure her. “He would. I know you would too.”
“I will.” She agrees, a smile forming on her lips. “There are times where we’ve been so busy that we barely spend time together. Not to mention the times where Kai or I have to go somewhere. But we’re doing good.”
I smile. “You love him, don’t you?”
Her blush deepens and shyly looks away. “I…I think I do. I know, its silly because of how young I am but…”
“Hey, your grandparents were around your age when they got together.” I assure her. “If you love him, you love him. Doesn’t matter how old you are.”
She glances back up at me and her smile widens. “Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. And, in my opinion, I think he loves you too.”
And just like that, she blushes again.
I chuckle and I turn back to gaze back at the city. We stand there in a comfortable silence for a minute or two, the gentle wind acting as a soothing cool rather than a frozen current.
“You were thinking about Korra and your parents, weren’t you?” Jinora eventually asks with caution, careful not to disrupt the calmness of the situation.
I sigh heavily. “Am I that easy to read?”
“I’m a good guesser and you’re deflecting.”
I snort. Smart.
“Yeah. I was.” I answer her. “Its been two years since I spoken to any of them and they were not on the best terms. Not seeing them at my ceremony was…very difficult to handle.”
I turn back to her and give her a reassuring smile. “But I did have a good time. Really, I did. All of you there made me feel very proud of myself. I know all airbenders are our family but, really, I can only really say that to a select few. Team Avatar is my family but nowadays its just Mako, Asami, and I, and whenever Mako goes Prince Wu follows and you know how I feel about that. But, to be honest, since I stopped talking to my mum and dad, Tenzin and Pema have been second parents to me. And I care about Ikki, Meelo, and Rohan, I really do, but Jinora…you’re like a little sister to me. So, thank you. For everything.”
Immediately, two strong arms wrap around my waist and Jinora pulls herself to me in a tight hug, head pressed to my chest. I bent down slightly and hug her back, feeling a comfortable warmth swarming me.
“You’re the older sibling I never had.” Jinora says, her speech muffled but the family love obvious. “Thank you.”
My smile widens and all the bitterness I felt mere moments ago has now been vanquished, replaced by my love for my new family.
When we finally release from each other, much colder air blows against us and Jinora shivers. Best we don’t stay out here any longer.
“We should probably get some shut eye. We have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow.”
Jinora nods in agreement. “Yeah.”
Then, a smug smile forms on her lips and, all of a sudden, she dashes toward the island in a run. “Race you to the entrance!”
“Hey, that’s cheating!” I exclaim with a grin as I dash after her.
Times have changed. I have changed. But I know I will always have a family.
I have been exploring this town, asking strangers, exploring every dark alley I can find and I have found NOTHING!
Where in the spirits has Korra ran off too?!
DAMMIT!
I reach to the end of the town where nothing but forests lie ahead. Those trees stretch out forever, its practically a maze in there.
But, then, a thought comes to my mind.
Could…Could Korra be there?
I take a few steps towards the forest until I reach the very edge to the entrance of the labyrinth of green and wood.
I don’t see why Korra would go there but…maybe its worth a shot? I mean, I haven’t found anything in the town. It won’t hurt to quickly look around some of the forest, right? Maybe some clues might be there.
I take a step forward and place my hand on the trunk of one of the trees-
-AND A BLINDING LIGHT CONSUMES ME!
WHAT’S GOING ON?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!
But the light fades and, in my mind’s eye, I see only one image…
A small, singular island. An Island I recognise all too well from the books I’ve read.
And, like that, the image is gone and I return to the here and now. My hand is still on the trunk of the tree.
That…That’s the first time a vision has happened when I’m not meditating or sleeping. This…This is new.
But, that doesn’t matter. No. This has got to be a clue where Korra went off to. It’s got to be! Why else would I have been given that vision? I don’t know why she’s there, but I’m about to find out.
I take one last glance at the silent woods and I turn and rush off to get to Spectre. When I finally meet up with him, I hop onto him and grab the rope to steer him to another direction.
The air bison lets out a questioning grumble. Where are we going?
I frown in determination.
“We’re going to Kyoshi Island.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it!
I hope you all enjoyed it!
Feedback is appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter! :D

hey! i love your zuko fics so much and was wondering if you’d like to write this, because the idea just popped up: maybe a zuko x reader fluff that takes place before/during LOK? maybe they’re reminiscing about their past adventures w the Gaang while helping out the new Team Avatar? idk it’s just that every time I see old zuko it makes me soft and emotional 🥲🔥❤️ anyways, much love! (and don’t feel pressured to do this at all, I was just thinking abt who I could submit this request to, and obvi my first choice was you 💕)
reminiscence - zuko x fem!reader
summary: just because you and your husband are retired doesn’t mean you don’t have amazing advice for the new team avatar.
a/n: this is so cute omg!! thank you so much for requesting this and thank you for much for your kind words i'm honored <33 im so sorry this took so long
sorry im posting so much lately im trying to stop slacking and publish things that have been wips for over a month sdkjfh
wc: 1.3k
warning(s): none bc i choose to ignore the news of zaheer’s plan right after this scene
-
Retirement was… nice.
You had spent your childhood fighting with the Avatar to end the Hundred Year War, a feat that was only made more difficult with your Fire Nation roots and connection to the banished prince. But all that’s well ends well, and you ended up getting your happy ending together — you had to fight hard for it, though.
You married Zuko at nineteen, three years after he ascended to the throne, and spent the subsequent years balancing your duties as Fire Lady and taking care of your daughter. Ruling the Fire Nation was a lot, but you knew you could get through anything with your husband at your side.
When he told you his plans to abdicate the throne, you were more than supportive. One of Zuko’s biggest fears was becoming his father, and by giving up his position willingly to Izumi, it guaranteed that he wouldn’t fall victim to the power-obsessed ways of his ancestors. It also gave him a well-deserved break after decades of being Fire Lord, and you were more than ready to get out of the world of Fire Nation politics. You had sat through enough meetings to fill multiple lifetimes.
But just because the two of you weren’t as involved in every day affairs of the world didn’t mean that you were completely out of it. No, that was far from the truth. You and Zuko were still some of the most important people in all of the nations, which meant it wasn’t a rare occurrence for your husband to be called off on some sort of mission.
One such mission was stopping the Order of the Red Lotus for the second time; Zuko had been part of the team that stopped them from kidnapping Avatar Korra as a child, so it was no surprise that he had been called to help for a second time. You knew even in his old age that your husband was powerful, but you couldn’t help but feel concerned about everything he was doing.
This concern was ultimately what led you to join Zuko on his trip to meet with Chief Beifong and Chief Tonraq in the Misty Palms Oasis. He had originally been against your involvement, claiming that the Red Lotus was far too dangerous, and he didn’t want to risk you getting injured in any way. You, of course, weren’t having it. “The Avatar’s in trouble, and I’d like to think I know a few things about getting out of trouble.”
One thing was certain after you arrived — it had been far too long since you had ridden on the back of a dragon. You truly adored Druk, and you felt bad for everyone that would never have the opportunity.
After conversing with Lin and Tonraq inside, you all exited to greet the new Team Avatar. If what you were told was true, then they had been through quite a lot since leaving Zaofu. For as long as you had been involved in foreign affairs, you had never met Avatar Korra nor her friends, so you didn’t know what to expect — an awestruck boy that could barely speak wasn’t at the top of your list though.
“Oh my gosh. It’s Lord Zuko and Lady Y/N. I can’t believe it!” He stared at the two of you with wide eyes, his voice getting higher and higher as he whimpered. He looked like he was going to fall over until another black-haired boy pulled him out of the way, his tone apologetic.
“Uh, forgive my brother,” he said as he put his fist against his open palm, his brother following suit. “We’re just really honored to meet you both.”
“It’s no problem,” you smiled as you and Zuko returned the greeting. It had been years since someone had reacted that way towards you, and you would be lying if you said it didn’t amuse you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well.”
The two boys straightened again as the taller one gestured to them each in turn. “I’m Mako, and this is Bolin. We’re Korra’s friends.”
“Ah, she’s got her own Team Avatar?” You inquired with a twinkle in your eye. “You know, I traveled with Avatar Aang years back along with my husband.”
“Of course I know!” Bolin exclaimed. “Oh, I’ve heard so many stories about your adventures, they’re all so amazing!” His eyes widened and you actually thought that he was going to fall over. “Oh, oh, could you tell us about some of the things you went through?”
“Bolin, we really shouldn’t bother them—” Mako started, but you laughed and waved it off.
“I assure you, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s not often I get to relive my journeys to such avid listeners. What would you like to hear about?”
He thought for a couple seconds then shot back up again. “What was it like when you escaped the Boiling Rock together? You guys were the first people to ever break out, right? That had to be amazing!”
You and Zuko both laughed as you shot him a look. “It was… interesting,” he said.
“By interesting, he means it was a complete disaster,” you corrected. “Everywhere something could’ve gone wrong, it went wrong. They had originally come there to rescue Sokka’s dad, but instead they found Suki and I. Then Zuko got found out and thrown into prison, our first escape plan failed, Sokka almost got found out, Azula showed up… it was honestly a miracle we made it out at all.”
“It wasn’t that bad!” he protested. “Getting thrown into prison was part of the plan, we wouldn’t have been able to get the cooler out if I hadn’t been found out.”
“I guess I can’t complain,” you chuckled. “I did get to punch you a couple times.”
“They are so cool,” Bolin whispered as the two of you went on in the background. He elbowed Mako in the shoulder and gestured towards the couple with his head. “Come on, ask them something! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!”
“I’m not going to ask them something, Bolin—”
“Excuse me, my brother has something he wants to ask too!” Mako shot him a dirty look which quickly disappeared when you and Zuko turned to him attentively.
“Oh, um…” He coughed and scratched his head. “I guess.. is there any advice you have for us? With this whole Team Avatar thing, I mean.” You smiled at Mako and took Zuko’s hand.
“The friendships you forge during your journey are the most important thing — they’re the things that will keep you going during your darkest moments, and they will last a lifetime. There will be mountains and valleys, ebbs and flows, but no matter what, you will hold an unbreakable bond.”
You felt Zuko squeeze your hand and turned your smile on him as you returned the sentiment then nodded for him to continue. “Never take anything for granted, and trust in fate. You’re where you are for a reason — everything will end up working out in the end.”
You grinned and kissed him on the cheek, humming in agreement. “It did, didn’t it?”
-
After a few more minutes of talking with the two brothers, they went off to join the rest of their group. It was strange being on the outside of it all after how intense your childhood was, but it was… refreshing not to have the weight of the world on your shoulders anymore.
“The world’s in good hands with them,” you murmured as you leaned your head on Zuko’s shoulder.
“They all have that same fire you had when I first met you,” Zuko chuckled. You watched the four of them conversing and a smile graced your lips.
“Oh? Then I think the world’s in very good hands.”

“So, where do we find this Iroh guy?” Mako asked.
“You think he has any relation to General Iroh?” Bolin questioned. “I mean, how many Iroh’s can there really be, y’know?”
“He’s Iroh as in, Zuko and Iroh,” Korra informed them, and Bolin let out a shocked gasp. While she was nervous about getting her memories back, (Y/N) would definitely be grateful not to be absolutely lost when things were discussed.
A Republic City winter was nothing compared to a South Pole winter. (Y/N) was cold while she slept, cold while she moved, cold while she stood still! Korra’s mom had her wrapped up in so many different coats, furs, and blankets that she waddled while she walked. “How are you okay right now?” She asked Korra as they walked to breakfast together. “I feel like my nose is going to fall off.”
Korra looked back and flashed her a smile. “It’s all I’ve ever known! You just kind of get used to it.” (Y/N) frowned. She couldn’t imagine ever getting used to weather like this.
As they sat and ate their breakfast--(Y/N) tried to eat, but the layers made it hard to bend her elbows--they discussed their plan for the day. Led by Tonraq, they would travel by snowmobile to the Spirit World Portal. It was a long trip, so they would have to camp for the night, but the next day they would be trekking through the Spirit World looking for answers. “It’s warm there,” Korra said, nudging (Y/N) with her elbow. She smiled gratefully.
She decided to ride on the back of Korra’s snowmobile. Bolin would be on the back of Asami’s and while Mako also had his own, (Y/N) wasn’t sure if she wanted to have her arms wrapped around him for the entire trip, especially when they hadn’t discussed the things that happened between them. Her and Mako hadn’t discussed things at all, really. She knew they were on better terms since the first time they met, but he was so guarded and she was so scared that anything Mako had to say to her, she might not want to hear.
So, she waddled over to Korra’s snowmobile. “Mind if I ride with you?” She asked as Korra secured their supplies.
“Not at all!” Korra said, her face lighting up. Then she cleared her throat and turned her eyes back to tying knots. “Just be sure you hold on tight, okay?” (Y/N) nodded, managing a joking salute.
She wrapped her arms around Korra’s middle as tightly as she could, but it must not have been enough because as soon as Korra hit the gas, (Y/N) was flung off, landing on her back in the snow. She let out a shout of surprise, followed by a groan as she opened her eyes and saw Korra staring down at her. She wore a humored smile on her face. “I told you to hold on tight!”
“I was!” (Y/N) insisted as Korra helped her get back to her feet. She pulled some rope from their side pouch and wrapped it around (Y/N’s) waist, then tied it to her own.
“We do this for little kids sometimes, so they don’t get lost in the snow.” (Y/N) narrowed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at her. Korra laughed at the childishness and helped her get back on the snowmobile. Then they were off, (Y/N) much more secured this time around.
As they rode through the snowy hills, (Y/N) leaned her head on Korra’s back, taking in the sights of the Southern Water Tribe. Far out where the sea was, icy glaciers poked through the inky waters, shimmering against the sunlight. Everything was rather sparkly; if (Y/N) looked at the snow for too long her eyes felt sore. She turned her head and waved a gloved hand at Bolin, who gave her a thumbs up from his position behind Asami.
Sometimes, when she looked at Bolin, it physically hurt her heart. She knew it was some sort of physical reaction, something her body remembered that her head didn’t. The feeling increased when he had referred to them as being friends. There was nothing wrong with being friends, in fact she supposed that was better than any other alternative, but even now she had always thought there was something more between them. Perhaps she had interpreted everything wrong. There was a giant piece of her memory missing, after all, and all she knew was that she had really messed up Bolin when she had left. It was probably better if they were just friends. Bolin was great and she didn’t want to lose him a second time.
Their ride was so long that (Y/N) had eventually fallen asleep against Korra’s back, only to be awoken by the snowmobile coming to a jolted stop. She awoke and squeaked in fear, gripping on tighter to Korra.
“Sorry!” She said. “I’ve never been really good at breaking.”
“You’re going to tell me that after I spent hours on a giant metal deathtrap with you?” (Y/N) huffed.
“It wasn’t that bad considering you were snoring into my back,” Korra quipped, quickly turning herself around so she could untie them. “You sounded like a lion turtle.”
“I don’t even know what that is, but I’m sure you’re wrong.” (Y/N) slid off the snowmobile and began untying the packs.
“Lion turtles used to carry cities on their backs and bestow the gift of bending to humans occasionally.”
“Think we’ll find one in the Spirit World to grant me some powers?” (Y/N) asked. “What element do you think I’d bend? I think fire’s pretty cool but-”
“Oh, you’d be an airbender for sure,” Korra said as she hoisted two packs onto her back. (Y/N’s) face lit up.
“Really! Why do you think that? Is it because of my calm and collected nature?”
“It’s because you talk so much,” Korra explained. “You’re constantly bending air with your mouth.” She booped (Y/N) on the nose before making her way to the rest of the group.
“You’re hilarious! (Y/N) called after her, gathering her own packs onto her back. “Why don’t you stop being the Avatar and become a comedian instead!”
They set up their tents and made fire, which was easy work considering two out of the six people in the party were firebenders. As soon as (Y/N) finished her tasks she sat in front of the fire. She was probably too close, but she didn’t care. It’s warmth, albeit small, made her feel just a smidge less cold than she had been, and she’d take it. The rest of their group soon joined her, Asami sitting on one side and Korra sitting on the other. She appreciated the girls protecting her from any awkwardness that could potentially ensue from being near the boys.
“I’m thinking when we get to the Spirit World, we’ll try our luck at finding Iroh,” Korra explained. “He’s always got spirits around him, maybe one of them will know who took (Y/N’s) memories.”
“And if they don’t?” Mako questioned. “We can’t just wander around the Spirit World hoping for some clue.”
“Maybe I’ll start remembering again,” (Y/N) suggested. “Like when Bolin took me to the spot where we met. I got that memory back.”
“You also threw up and passed out from that,” Asami reminded her. (Y/N) pursed her lips.
“I can handle it,” (Y/N) reassured them. “At this point, I’ll do whatever it takes to get my memories back.”
“The Spirit World is magnificent, but it’s also dangerous,” Tonraq said. Night had fallen, and his face was illuminated only by the fire. “They might not be happy to see humans there, especially after what happened last time.”
“I’m the Avatar,” Korra said. “They have to at least listen to me.”
“I just want you all to be careful. Whatever took (Y/N’s) memories has to be powerful. Maybe dangerous.”
“We’ll be careful, Dad,” Korra reassured her father. Tonraq trusted his daughter’s abilities, that was obvious, but the worry he held for her was still evident on his features. (Y/N) swallowed, her mouth feeling dry. She hadn’t really considered that this could be a dangerous mission. If she was being honest, she had never really thought this far ahead. She had spent every day maneuvering around the different dynamics of the four friends, making sure that she didn’t overstep her boundaries or create unnecessary problems. She hadn’t considered what would be waiting for them on the other side of the Spirit Portal, or that the people she had grown to cherish would be put in danger for her sake.
Asami passed around their food and (Y/N) ate silently, considering this information. Her friends talked around her, but she was so distracted that their comments went in one ear and out the other. Once she finally zoned back in, it was just her, Korra, and Mako sitting around the fire.
Korra let out a big yawn, stretching her arms. “I’m absolutely beat,” She said. “I think I’m gonna turn in. You coming?” (Y/N) shook her head.
“I think I’ll stay near the warmth just a little longer.” Korra nodded and gave them a sloppy salute as she waded through the snow and to the tent she shared with Asami and (Y/N). It was just her and Mako now.
She stared at the flames of the fire and how they danced in the cold night air. Should she say something to Mako? This was the first time they had been alone together and neither of them had immediately made up somewhere else they needed to be. They’d be heading to the Spirit World tomorrow, so if there was any time for them to communicate, it should be now.
(Y/N) adjusted her coat, huddling further inside it. “Want me to make it bigger?” Mako asked, and (Y/N) nearly jumped, surprised to hear him talking to her. She looked at him, eyes wide and not quite understanding what he was talking about. “The fire, you want me to make it bigger?”
“Oh, no, that’s okay,” She said. Mako stared at her for a moment before making the fire larger and while she had said she hadn’t wanted that, (Y/N) was grateful. It was so hard to be straightforward with Mako sometimes, because of the way he jumbled her brain. It was like she didn’t even recognize herself when she was around him anymore. Before, only one emotion accompanied being around Mako, and that was anger. Now, (Y/N) felt a whole range of emotions when she looked at his amber eyes. “I think we should talk,” She said finally, wincing at how small her voice sounded.
“I think so too,” And he gave her a half smile. (Y/N) nodded, but both of them remained silent. How should she start? How did people even communicate properly? Perhaps the thing (Y/N) was most excited about getting her memories back was how to talk to people normally. She felt so awkward!
“Why’d you kiss me?” She asked suddenly, her face heating from embarrassment. Mako’s eyebrows shot to the top of his forehead.
“Oh,” He coughed. “I mean, well, it’s a little--it’s like--” (Y/N) couldn’t help giggling. “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing!” She insisted, biting down her smile. “You just...you seem so tough and confident and aloof sometimes that it’s funny to see you act so...”
“Embarrassing?” He guessed. (Y/N) shook her head.
“Normal?” She tilted her head and shrugged. “You don’t always have to wear this tough guy act, you know.”
“It’s not an act,” Mako insisted, but he and (Y/N) exchanged a look that had them both stifling back their laughter. “Maybe sometimes. People believe you’re tough if you act like it. Keeps you from getting your stuff stolen when you’re sleeping in a gutter.”
“You grew up on the streets?” (Y/N) guessed. Mako nodded.
“Sometimes I forget what you know and what you don’t.”
“Me too, if we’re being honest.” They paused into a silence that wasn’t necessarily uncomfortable, just full of anticipation. “They teach you how to dodge questions on the streets, too?”
Mako sighed, running a hand through his black hair. “It’s not easy for me to explain stuff like this. Bolin’s the one that can talk about emotions and feelings.”
(Y/N) smiled. “Bolin can talk about anything.”
“When we were arguing on that balcony, I wasn’t just angry at you for being here. You hurt Bolin a long time ago, but watching you be with my brother and knowing that I could never be with you...that hurt, too. You were so close to me that night and something inside of me said I should kiss you and once the idea popped into my head, I couldn’t get it out. I think I hoped that once I did it, it’d be some sort of release. Like a way to get it all out so I’d stop feeling like that.”
“Was it?”
Mako looked directly into her eyes. Normally, his gaze would make (Y/N) feel weird and she would have to look away. She couldn’t bring herself to do that tonight.
“Not at all,” He admitted. “I thought I had gotten over you once you disappeared, but once you came back it all hit me full force.”
(Y/N) thought for a moment about what she wanted to say. Then, she took a deep breath. “I don’t have any memories to base my feelings off of. But there are certain things, feelings, that I remember that I can’t place. They’re just there.” She placed a hand over her heart. “It happens when I look at Bolin. I remember feelings, like sadness and regret, but I don’t know why. It’s overwhelming sometimes, discerning emotions. The things that I feel for Bolin, they’re like past feelings that I’m remembering. Kind of.” She squinted her eyes shut. She wasn’t sure if she was explaining this right, but she was trying her best. “But when I look at you, now that the anger has subsided, I feel things now. Being around you feels nice and when you talk to me, I feel very...light and relieved. I can barely hold your gaze without blushing, and--and I think about you. A lot more than a friend should, I think.”
“But,” She continued. “I don’t have all of my memories back. I don’t know how or why I left and I don’t know if things will change once I do.”
“I get it,” Mako said. “As much as someone with memories can.” (Y/N) gave him a small smile. “And I don’t want to confuse you even more, because I’m sure being around Bolin is confusing enough as it is.”
“You have no idea,” (Y/N) breathed.
“I’m glad I told you. Almost two years and I finally admitted to my brother’s ex-girlfriend that I had a crush on her the whole time. This is a big day for me.”
“The whole time?” (Y/N) questioned. “When did you realize that you liked me?”
“I think Kya told us that we couldn’t share too much about the past with you, or else you might lose your memories forever?” (Y/N) pouted. “Fine, but if you can’t get your memories back, don’t blame me.” The wind picked up over them and he scooted closer to her so that he wouldn’t have to shout over it.
“Aye-aye, Captain,” (Y/N) said, giving a small salute. She rested her chin in the palm of her glove in order to pay attention.
“There was this one time when you got to our place. Bolin wasn’t there yet, I think he was out performing tricks with Pabu. It was cold outside, one of the coldest days Republic City had had in a while. You came in and you were like an icicle. You were shaking and had forgotten your coat and decided to walk halfway across the city to our place. I gave you a blanket and one of Bolin’s coats, but your hands were still like ice, so I used a little firebending to warm them up.” Mako remembered the feeling of your hands completely encased in his. “I held your hands for a while, until they were warm enough. I got up to leave for work and you grabbed my hand and pulled me back down onto the couch. You said, ‘Stay, Mako! I love having you around.’ So, I stayed. We talked all day until Bolin got home, and I ended up losing that job, but spending that time with you made it all worth it.”
(Y/N) sat silently for a long while before saying, “I’m sorry for making you lose your job.”
Mako laughed. “It’s cool,” He said. “I wasn’t a very good delivery boy anyway.”
(Y/N) pulled off her gloves, exposing her hands to the cold winter air. “Do you think you could...?” She offered her hands to Mako. He gave her a small smile and nodded, removing his own gloves and taking her hands in his. (Y/N) let out a happy sigh of relief at the feeling of warmth that emanated from his skin.
“I’m sorry for being so mean to you at first,” Mako said. “I just didn’t want Bolin to get hurt again.”
“I understand,” She said quietly. “I’d probably do the same if I were you.” Cautiously, she leaned her head on Mako’s shoulder. They sat like that for a long while, staring at the fire as Mako held her hands in his. While she was probably even more confused about her emotions than before, part of her hoped that whatever happened in the Spirit World wouldn’t change how she was feeling right now. She wanted to see where this could go.
---
Once the cold became too much for either of them to bear, Mako and (Y/N) parted ways. Korra and Asami were fast asleep when she entered their tent and slid into her sleeping bag. She fell asleep quickly, her hands still warm, but it felt like she was asleep for only moments when Korra shook her awake in the morning.
“One more hour,” (Y/N) grumbled, rolling over to avoid Korra’s gaze. The Avatar scoffed.
“I already let you sleep in as late as possible!” She gently kicked (Y/N’s) butt. “Up! Spirit World today, woohoo!” A very groggy (Y/N) reluctantly left the warmth of her sleeping bag. The early morning sun was absolutely blinding as she walked out of the tent. (Y/N) let out an unhappy grumble.
“Tea?” Asami offered, handing (Y/N) a thermos. (Y/N) smiled gratefully at her and took a long sip of the beverage, feeling it warm her from the inside out.
“Thank you so much!” (Y/N) said. “I needed that.”
“You were up pretty late,” Asami said, giving her a knowing smile. “Any particular reason?” (Y/N) shrugged playfully as she loaded her sleeping bag onto Korra’s snowmobile.
“Mako and I finally talked.”
“And? How’d that go?” Asami glanced over at Mako’s who sleepily nodded at whatever Bolin was excitedly saying to him. (Y/N) lightly slapped her friend’s arm.
“Don’t stare!” She laughed. “It went fine. We talked about our feelings, actually.” Asami’s eyes widened in excitement and she opened her mouth to say something, but (Y/N) cut her off. “And while there are some feelings there, I told him how until I got my memories back, nothing could be certain.”
Asami hummed in approval. “Seems like a good resolution.”
“What’s a good resolution?” Korra came over to tie her own belongings to the snowmobile.
“Mako and (Y/N) finally talked about their kiss.”
“Woah!” Korra exclaimed. “Are you guys dating now?”
“I’m missing like seventy-five percent of my memories and you think we’d be dating?” (Y/N) snipped. Korra shrugged.
“I don’t know what goes on in your head!”
“Like I told Asami, it was a good conversation. We talked about our feelings but I said that until I got my memories back, nothing could be done. I mean, what if I get them back and there was actually a non-Spirit World reason for why I was so awful to Bolin?” (Y/N) shook her head. “I was honest about how I felt and I think that’s good progress.”
“You know Korra,” Asami started. “Weren’t you telling me yesterday how much your bag hurt from having (Y/N) hold onto you?”
“What? No?” Korra said, furrowing her dark brows. Asami elbowed her sharply in the side.
“Remember? You said she held on too tight? Don’t you think that today you should ride on the snowmobile by yourself, since you’ll need to be at your best Avatar abilities in the Spirit World?”
“I know what you guys are doing and I’m having absolutely none of it!” (Y/N) insisted. “I’m riding with Korra, end of story.”
“Oh, I see what’s happening here,” Korra said. She placed her hands on her lower back. “Oh, yep, there’s definitely a tough knot there and it’s all (Y/N’s) fault. I don’t think I can ride on a snowmobile with you anymore.”
“I thought the Avatar was supposed to bring peace, but all you’re causing is chaos,” (Y/N) hissed.
“Hey, Mako!” Asami called out. Mako looked over to them, raising a questioning eyebrow as (Y/N) banged her head against the snowmobile. “Do you think (Y/N) can ride with you for today? Korra’s back is absolutely killing her.”
“Ow~!” Korra drawled dramatically.
“Uh, sure?” Mako questioned. He walked over to Korra’s vehicle and untied (Y/N’s) pack from it. “I think Tonraq said we were leaving in a few minutes, so I’ll be over there.”
“Sounds great, she’ll be right there,” Asami said.
“I’m not going,” (Y/N) said with a shake of her head.
“I thought you said it was a good conversation?” Korra questioned.
“You guys are so lucky I’m not a bender and I’m not very good at hand-to-hand combat because--” She shook her fist at both of them. “You’d be getting it!” She stomped over to Mako, a frown etched on her face.
“Everything alright?” He asked. She let the frown fade from her face.
“Everything’s fine,” She said with a sigh. “Korra and Asami are just being big pains.”
“Don’t I know it.” Mako strapped his helmet and placed (Y/N’s) on top of her head, buckling it underneath her chin. He then tied a rope that connected the two of them, as Korra had done yesterday. “Safety first,” He said with a smile. (Y/N) felt her face flush as he helped her onto the snowmobile. Shyly, she wrapped her arms around his middle, and then they were off toward the Spirit World Portal.
This trip was much shorter than the previous day’s. The portal was only an hour or two away from where they had camped. While (Y/N) was surprised that they had arrived so soon, there was no doubt that they were there, as the portal was a beam of warm yellow light that shot into the sky. It lay in the middle of the woods, only accessible by foot.
They parked their snowmobiles on the outskirts of the woods. Tonraq began setting up his tent; they had agreed that someone should stay behind with a radio just in case anything went wrong and they needed backup. But to (Y/N’s) surprise, Asami was setting up her own tent as well.
“You’re not coming with us?” She asked. Asami raised an eyebrow and shook her head.
“We agreed before you woke up this morning that someone else should stay behind with Korra’s dad to help keep watch. You obviously need to go, as does Korra, and I knew Bolin and Mako would be absolutely horrible if they had no idea what was going on inside. So, I decided to stay.”
(Y/N) frowned. While the reasoning was sound, it still made her sad that Asami wouldn’t be accompanying them on their journey. She and (Y/N) had developed a real friendship over the last few weeks. They had spent nearly all of their time together. It would be strange, not having her around.
“Be safe, okay?” (Y/N) asked, throwing her arms around Asami and squeezing her into a hug.
“You’re going into a completely new dimension and you’re telling me to be safe?” Asami laughed, but she wrapped her arms around (Y/N’s) frame and hugged tightly. “I can’t wait to hear all about your memories.” The two friends parted and (Y/N) lifted her pack onto her back.
“Ready?” Korra asked, and she, Bolin, and Mako nodded. Their group said their goodbyes to Tonraq and Asami before Korra led them into the woods.
“The last time I was here, I was frozen into a block of ice by an ex-girlfriend,” Bolin said. (Y/N) raised an eyebrow at him. “It wasn’t you! It was Korra’s cousin from the Northern Water Tribe.”
“The one with the evil dad?” (Y/N) asked.
“That’s the one!” Bolin nodded.
“This is it,” Korra said as they stopped in front of the Spirit World Portal. (Y/N) could feel its energy radiating from outside the forest, but now it was even more prominent. “Next stop, Spirit World.” She turned around to look at (Y/N), whose face looked as if she had seen a ghost. “Everything alright?”
(Y/N) nodded, gulping. “I’m okay,” She nodded again, trying to convince herself that she was speaking the truth. What if getting her memories back wasn’t necessarily a good thing? Something had blocked them out. Perhaps they had done it for her own benefit. But they had come this far, so she remained silent as she stepped through the threshold and into the Spirit World.
It was an odd feeling, transitioning between two planes. It felt like each particle of (Y/N’s) body was buzzing, until suddenly she was on the other side and staring at so many colors, some that she was sure she had never seen before. She released the breath she had been holding as she stepped through.
Indescribable beings flew overhead, cawing and cooing at them. Korra had been right: the Spirit World was significantly warmer than the South Pole. The group removed their jackets as (Y/N) took in her surroundings. Currently, they stood in the middle of a rocky wasteland, but patches of flowers and grass popped up here and there. In the middle stood a gnarled tree with a hollowed out middle.
“That’s the Tree of Time,” Korra explained. “That’s where the first Avatar had imprisoned Vaatu, the dark spirit that I defeated a month ago. His energy made this part of the Spirit World a wasteland, but it’s healing.”
“It’s beautiful,” (Y/N) breathed, and Korra smiled. Their group walked across the barren land to the greener parts of the Spirit World. Butterfly-like animals flittered around them as they walked and Korra explained her many trips to this place. Mako and Bolin had been here as well, although they had never been further than the Tree of Time. That helped (Y/N) feel less out of place.
“There it is!” Korra exclaimed, and then she started running. The others dashed behind her, not quite sure of where she was going, until a small house appeared seemingly out of nowhere and they were right in front of it. A small tea party of spirits and one human sat at a table in the garden.
“Korra!” The old man exclaimed. “Welcome back! We were just about to start afternoon tea.” He peaked behind her at her friends. “And you brought company! The more the better, I think I have some extra teacups in the house.”
“Hi, Iroh,” Korra said. “We really appreciate it, but we don’t really have time--” But the old man was already headed inside his house. When he returned, he held four additional teacups and a bright smile on his face.
“Sit, sit,” He insisted. Korra looked to (Y/N), who shrugged, and dropped her backpack to the ground and took a seat. If having tea was what she needed to do in order to get her memories back, then she would do it. “You!” Iroh said as he placed (Y/N’s) teacup in front of her. “I’ve heard many things about you. Welcome back.”
“Back?” (Y/N) questioned, looking at her friends. “I’ve been here before?”
“You are (Y/N), yes?” She nodded. “When Korra first visited me to ask about you, I did not know much.” He placed a hand to the side of his mouth. “Spirits are horrible gossips sometimes, and I did not want to lead the Avatar on a path different from the one you must take. But I have asked many a visitor about you and they have all said the same thing: you were here, not too long ago, but you were here for a while.”
“Why was she here?” Mako questioned before (Y/N) could. Iroh sighed as he poured their tea.
“Whatever the reason, it was not good. Many of my friends say they saw her enter the dark part of our realm and she did not leave for a long time.”
“It’s true!” One of the spirits interjected, an oddly blue wolf. “I saw you months ago with my own four eyes. You looked nothing like you do now. You came through the portals, yeah? Last time, someone brought you here the other way.”
“You mean through meditation?” Korra asked. The spirit nodded.
“Whatever it was, something powerful had to do it. I couldn’t do nothing like that.”
“So, powerful spirit in the dark parts of the Spirit World. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but it doesn’t sound like something a good spirit would do.” (Y/N) looked to Iroh to confirm her suspicions.
“Spirits are neither good nor bad, unless we are discussing Vaatu and Raava. But there are some spirits whose motives become skewed.”
(Y/N) deflated in her seat. The spirit who had taken her memories was powerful and most likely dangerous. And if they found it, she would be leading her friends right to them.
They finished their tea with Iroh before continuing on their journey. Bolin had talked excitedly with him about his adventures with Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko, whoever those people were, and Iroh gave him a Jasmine Dragon teacup to take back to the mortal realm. The entire time that they talked, (Y/N) was incredibly distracted by what Iroh had told them.
“We should go back,” (Y/N) said suddenly. All three of her friends stopped and looked at her as if she were insane.
“But, you need to get your memories back,” Bolin said.
“I’ll just start over,” She insisted. “I can start fresh. Whatever this spirit is, it isn’t good, and I don’t want to hand you guys to it on a silver platter. We’ll go back and I’ll just learn to live without my memories.”
“There are pieces of you you’ll never get back. Important memories that might have meant a lot to you. You deserve answers, (Y/N), for everything that’s happened to you.” Bolin grabbed her hands and she felt that same shock of electricity run through her body every time he touched her.
“It’s not worth it if it means you guys will get hurt.”
“Stop trying to play hero,” Mako said suddenly, his voice much harsher than it had been the night before. “If we didn’t want to be here to help you, we wouldn’t be.”
“You shouldn’t be helping me. You guys fight every day for the greater good, for the people of the world. I’m one person. You can’t get yourselves hurt over one person. This,” She gestured to the entirety of the Spirit World, but referred to their mission. “Isn’t as important than whatever is going on back in the mortal world.”
“But you’re important,” Korra said suddenly. “You’re important to Bolin and Mako and you’ve become important to Asami and I. The Avatar fights for the greater good, but as your friend, I’ll do whatever it takes so that you can feel like yourself again.”
(Y/N) felt her eyes watering. Why weren’t they getting it? “If anything happened to you guys while we’re here, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.”
“And if we gave up on you, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself,” Bolin said. She looked up at him through watery eyes. “No matter what we’ve been through, we care about you. I care about you. And we’re going to get that dumb spirit to give your memories back.”
(Y/N) looked from him to Korra to Mako, whose head immediately turned as soon as her eyes landed on him. “Okay,” she said. “But I think this is a horrible idea.”
“I find that horrible ideas make the best stories,” Bolin said with a smile.

For the Spotify writing could you do 50 for Korra
ms. california - korra x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: korra x reader (gender neutral)
wc: 1.8k
notes/warnings: nothing here folks :)
i love your voice but hate the way, you talk of her consistently
you heard the boats coming in before you saw them, you heard the cheers erupting from a small crowd that had formed around the south pole’s dock, all flocking to catch a glimpse of their avatar coming home. while everyone’s excitement stemmed from seeing what was essentially a hero, you were just excited to finally see your oldest friend whom you hadn’t seen since she had left to go back to republic city after spending time healing with master katara in the south pole.
excitement cursed through your veins at the prospect of seeing your best friend after years of being separated as you ran to mix in with the crowd of natives welcoming one of their own home.
your heart swelled once you finally spotted her, standing proudly at the front of the ship, her mother placed right next to her as they both waved at the crowd. you noticed her newly cut hair that you had only seen in recent varrick industries movers, it looked even better on her in person.
you pushed your way through the crowd, excusing yourself as you bumped into several people, most of them unphased as they kept their gaze on the master of all four elements. you didn’t stop moving until you found yourself next to tonraq, a man who had served as almost a second father to you ever since you were a toddler. your father being one of the water bending masters that kept an eye on korra growing up, meaning you grew up alongside her at the white lotus compound.
“hey y/n, excited?” the chief asked as soon as he noticed your presence next to him, keeping his eyes on his daughter that was fast approaching.
“yes sir.” cheers got louder as the boat finally stopped, chief tonraq invited you to join him as he walked towards the boat, the guards he had enlisted letting you pass in order to join him.
when your eyes met here as she started coming down, you felt a smile grow on your features as you watched her face mirror yours, two old friends finally reuniting.
unexpectedly, korra picked up the pace and wrapped you in a hug as soon as she got near you, taking you by surprise.
“i missed you.” she exclaimed as you were returning it, happy to once again be in her arms. her large coat was soft to the touch but she smelled rather foreign, most likely due to the fact that was living in a bustling city. the sound of her voice was something you didn’t expect to miss so much but now that you finally heard it for the first time in months, you didn’t want to ever go without it again.
“missed you too.” you squeeze her slightly before you two finally broke apart, grins still on your faces as you both eyes each other up and down in order to see if there were any noticeable changes in each other’s appearance.
a little later during the day, after following korra revisit her home town you ended up having dinner at her childhood home. swapping not only childhood stories but also catching up on the things you had missed and that’s when when you found out about her.
one question was asked and suddenly, that’s all korra could talk about, all of her recent experiences being completely thrown out the window to talk about things her girlfriend, asami, had been doing, how her company was doing, some new invention she had come up with in the later hours of the night, a funny thing she had said, everything that was coming out of the avatar’s mouth had something to do with her.
you tried your hardest to engage in the conversation, finding your heart melt at how she talked about asami with so much love and amazement. her eyes sparkled in a way you had never seen them and you felt your heart sting a bit knowing that she’d never talk about you that way, that her eyes would never lit up at the sheer mention of your name. after a couple of minutes of enduring it, you retracted to your own thoughts, letting tonraq and senna interact with their daughter.
but every time you say her name, it honestly kills me
to help digest your food, and because korra insisted she wanted to, you both went on a walk after you finished eating some delicious homemade noodles. the cold didn’t both you as much as you were bundled under your coat, happy to find that outside the sky was clear, no signs of a snow storm in sight.
“sorry, i talked a lot back there.” she immediately said once she stepped out of her home to join you, excusing herself for being the center of attention at her own celebratory dinner.
“you realise that you haven’t been home in ages, and you’re the avatar, you’re the only one with any real stories to tell.” you joked as you started leading her in a random direction, knowing the whole area like the back of your hand meant that no matter where you two went, you wouldn’t get lost.
“come on, life here isn’t that boring.” she laughed lightly at your comment, following you closely so she wouldn’t get lost.
“you’d be surpised.” she rolled her eyes, not believing for one second that her best friend who always loved to live life to the fullest was admitting to living such a monotonous one.
“my dad told me you started teaching people waterbending which means you’re a real master now, that’s cool!” she nudged you lightly, causing a small smile to tug at your lips at the compliment on the full mastering of your skill, something that you were incredibly proud of.
“yeah, it’s not what i plan to do forever but it’s fun.” you shrugged your shoulders slightly before you two fell into a comfortable silence, the only sound between you being the trudging of your boots in the snow and the usual night sounds.
“but i could totally beat your ass, water or all elements, you don’t stand a chance.” you spoke up defiantly while simultaneously holding a joking tone in your words making her stop in her tracks.
“is that so? i’d love to see it.” she placed her hands on her hips as her eyes jokingly narrowed in your direction, thankfully you were still close enough to people’s houses to have some light letting you see her hilarious facial expression that looked identical to the one she used to wear when she was younger.
“how about tomorrow? we can even invite your parents so they see how weak the avatar actually is.” you teased as you suddenly felt the snow beneath your feet shift, causing you to fall backwards. quickly reacting, you brought snow up around the both of your arms to propel yourself forward, directing the snow directly at your friend as soon as your feet were flat on the ground.
korra brought her arms up to stop the snow from hitting her before letting it go limp and drop the ground.
“damnit, i would’ve loved to catch you off guard.” she whined, finally walking up to you after having let you walk by yourself a short distance.
“korra, you called me a master not two seconds ago, did you not think i’d be able to react to that?”
“listen, i didn’t think this through.” she rose her hands up in defence as you laughed, shaking your head at how much your friend could be idiotic when she wanted to.
“no kidding.” your comment earned a gust of air being bent in your face, causing your hood to fly backwards and your face going cold.
you narrowed your eyes at her as she simply stuck her tongue out childishly, causing you to laugh at how immature she was.
“i sure hope your city friends also get to deal with this side of you, would be a shame if they didn’t.” you managed to say once your laughter died down, being met with playfully offended avatar with her arms crossed as she observed you laughing with a quirked eyebrow.
“actually, asami says i’m pretty mature.” she stated matter of factly and you felt your happiness falter slightly at the mention of her girlfriend, wishing you could just go back to five minutes ago when you weren’t reminded of the fact that korra was living a completely different life to yours, one that didn’t involve spending it with you but with some supposed beautiful and genius inventor.
she's your girl, she's in all your pictures. california girl, i wish i was her
the following day, after tiring each other out sparring, you both headed back to her house as she mentionned wanting to show you some pictures she had of her life in republic city. you had barely seen certain staples of it like air temple island and the aang statue inside of books but never anything more.
“this is the spirit portal in the middle of the city.” you had seen numerous times the southern portal but there was something about the new one that made it stand out, while trying to figure it out, you spotted her, tall, long black hair, looking adoringly at korra who was talking to some officiel and you knew right then and there that was asami.
as korra showed you pictures of the pro bending arena, more in depth ones of air temple island, the spirit vines and in practically all of them you could see her, her whole presence seemed elegant, you could tell why korra had fallen for her.
when you're gone, she sleeps in your t-shirts
“shit i forgot my shirt.” korra mumbled as she frantically searched through the bag for her night shirt as you watched her from the other side of the room.
“don’t you have some here?” you suggested, looking around her room to maybe see one laying around but you knew that senna kept the room nice and tidy while her daughter was away.
“probably, hopefully asami is making use of it.” korra shrugged her shoulders before abandoning her bag on the ground, making her way to her crate where she kept all of her older clothes, grabbing the first one that came in between her fingers before facing you again, excited to have a sleepover like you always used to have.
“yeah, hopefully.” you mumbled, staring at the small fire that korra had lit for extra warmth, wishing that maybe in another life you weren’t just korra’s childhood friend, maybe you two actually got together, maybe if you had followed her to republic city instead of staying home afraid of being reprimanded by your parents for disobeying orders, maybe everything would’ve been different.
it hurts, i wish i was her, ms california.

Hi, sorry I'm new here, just out of curiosity, what do you mean you don't write for women? Like you don't write for female readers or you don't write for female characters, like Natasha romanoff from marvel, etc etc.
What I mean by that is that I don’t write for female characters, like Natasha and Wanda from marvel (even though there my dream girlfriends) I have in the past and I did do a male reader for experience but I’ve realized I’m not very good at it (hence the tonraq x male reader being my only one) I will try in the future on different accounts but in the mean time I’m only writing for female readers
srry if you have a request for a female character, I’m to afraid I’ll mess stuff up and will get the writing wrong and make it seem like a mess
