the USAmerican centric views on this site regarding protesting the genocide in Gaza are just astounding at times. Do y’all hear urselves when you say “they’re bombing Gaza during the Super Bowl to distract Americans from protesting!!”.

nonbinary helsknight is so funny to me. i think that welsknight was their trans awakening not in a gender envy way but in a “whatever gender this guy is i am Not that one” way
CANON
Helsknight popped into the world and said, "You know what? No, actually." His first decision for himself was gender, his next decision was to fight Wels, the rest is history--

Bro I hate fundamentalists and culturally-fundie parents they'll say shit like "spare the rod spoil the child am I right haha yea my parents used to have to beat my ass with a switch almost everyday but I sure did learn my lesson" but like??? no you didn't??? you were hit multiple times for something you very obviously did not, in fact, learn
Like studies about how harmful even lightly spanking children is aside, you're literally contradicting yourself?? Some even admitted they got worse as they got older cause they wanted to see how far they could push their parents before they got punished
And studies not aside, you're gonna get child raising advice from the same book that tells you to stone your wife if her hymen doesn't break on your wedding night instead of the decades of research we have now?? Just say you're a bad parent and move on my guy. Skill issue

so i missed rinharu but had no time to rewatch the franchise or final stroke movies.
luckily for my depraved ass, someone compiled all the rinharu scenes from both the final stroke movies and i watched it, only to notice so much shit that i didn't notice the first time i watched the last two movies.
so many of rin's—yes, specifically rin's—lines in the movies point at something brewing deeper than the surface.
him constantly pointing out that his relationship with haru "isn't that simple" when asked about it by ikuya or anyone else,
him fighting with azuma and azuma practically screaming in his face to get his shit together if he really cares about haru that much,
both haru and rin constantly thinking back on how they both needed each other to get to where they are,
all the scenes of rin's reflection in haru's eyes,
haru looking so depressed while sousuke is driving him around in his car (and haru's weak "i hope so" after sousuke tells him he and rin will be fine),
rin being so worried about his relationship with haru and asking asahi if haru really would ask about him if haru knew rin was hurting like this,
rin's monologue where he goes, "that's right. i'm always selfish. i pretend i don't notice how you feel. i took advantage of your strength" as he runs through the city desperately searching for haru (where there's also rinharu-centric flashbacks, in particular that scene from the special ES episode where both the samezuka and iwatobi teams are drying their clothes over a bonfire, rin is laughing and haru looks at him gently, smiling—yes, this confirms that it was rin haru had been looking at; not anyone else like people were insisting)
...and so much more.
what does all of this insinuate? you be the judge.

Worst part about the whole “get a job” solution to financial abuse is that like survival doesn’t feel tangible because it’s not even true for people who aren’t being abused like I’m sorry getting a job at subway just isn’t sustainable we all know this but why is that acceptable to to people who are being abused it just seems like a way to blame them for not leaving their abuser. It’s such a vicious act of victim blaming and attaches such an unnecessary amount of guilt to an already difficult situation

I wish we knew more about the timeline of Diane. Like, we can assume Beth's Rick left around the time C-137 lost his family but a long time had to have passed before she was erased because I doubt Beth became an orphan at a young age.
I know not all universes exist in the same year so maybe Beth's Diane died from old age before all versions got erased. Or maybe she got erased and Beth just assumed she passed away? I wish we knew more about Beth's relationship with her mom in general.
I 100% agree anon, I’d love to know more about Beth’s childhood so much. I assume Diane is erased around the time Beth gets pregnant and starts her life with Jerry (so like 16/17) and it’s also super interesting that Prime walks out on his family for good around when she’s like Morty’s age (I need to know more about him as a dad as well tbh)
But yeah, Beth’s childhood is definitely the most interesting unexplored detail of the show and Diane is definitely more interesting narratively to me as Beth’s mom opposed to as Rick’s wife

"why does miguel purport two contradictory understandings of the canon framework" <- idealogical doublebind anchored by guilt.
also, important to remember the context of the second understanding (miles is an anomaly that can therefore can only cause harm) only appearing when miguel has emotionally cracked. all his supppressed doubt abt his path surfaces in a moment of high emotional tension and so he tries to cram his understanding of miles back into that framework from the opposite direction (no longer spiderman, instead as an outlier beyond it's boundaries: an anomaly), even though it cannot work. because miles' very presence is a beacon of doubt that he's accidentally doomed people all over again, and he's terrified he's done so.
