"Well, this is a bad idea," Tim says, hands on his hips as he surveys the mess they’ve made in the cave.
"Nah," Danny replies, twirling his screwdriver in the air in what is probably meant to be an impressive trick to inspire confidence, except he fumbles it and it clangs to the floor loudly, "we good. If a younger version of myself hasn't come forward in time to stop me, how bad can it be?"
"Shouldn't it be the other way round?"
"What?"
"Normally, it's an older version of yourself going backwards in time to stop you, right?"
"Not in my experience."
Danny's grin is impossibly feral and a shiver runs up Tim's spine.
"This is definitely a bad idea."

Chase took a picture of himself in the dirty gym mirror. Damn he looked good he thought to himself. Years of dedication and dieting has left him with a body that made men and women swoon for his attention. The bad thing about this though was Chase knew he was good looking. He treated everyone poorly and it wasn’t long before he had enough enemies that they decided they needed to do something about it. I watched him take a picture of himself smirking as he was loving the reflection he had and as soon as he took the picture I slipped right on in. Taking full control. Chase was fully aware of everything happening. I made sure of that. But for now it was me in full control. And he was helpless to anything I did. “Well chase it looks like you have quite the number of enemies. You pride yourself so much how you look that it’s time to make some lasting changes!” I said out loud in his deep voice. Chase was screaming inside my head. Trying to take control but able to do a thing about it.
Rubbing Chase’s hairy stomach I knew that the first thing I was going to do was give Chase a gut. Something he prided himself on never having. Well times change and it was time for him to gain some serious weight. Chase screamed inside his own head and I just laughed.
Going home I thought about more ways to really punish Chase and I got even better ideas. Like normal I got tired of Chase screaming non stop so I put him to sleep. Leaving me to figure out all the wicked things I was going to do. At his apartment I looked at myself in the mirror. Chase really was a good looking man. Fit and muscular. Size 14 feet. He really was something to see. Looking down I rubbed his stomach. Using my magic I mumbled the spell to activate all changes I willed on him. His stomach began to bulge. And I laughed the whole time. “No that’s not big enough. Chase shouldn’t be able to see his feet !” And as if on command his stomach surged forward. Blocking his view of the ground. “Perfect !” He rubbed a ringer down the middle of his stomach and said “he’ll never be able to suck this in even if we tried !” And just liked his stomach flexed and churned. Bloating out more. Chase’s abs disappeared completely and his muscle would never respond to him trying to flex them again. His stomach would be permanently bloated outward. Always hanging in front of him no matter what he did. “This is more like it. This way this weight will stick and never go away!” And just like that Chase would never be able to lose another pound.
Tumblr media
I decided the hair for his body needed to be thicker. Like a sweater he could never remove and just like that his body began to grow very thick hair. A dark beard sticking out of my chin and touched the top part of his chest that was quickly becoming coated. Arms and shoulders now thickly matted in hair.
I made his body begin to smell like he hadn’t showered in days. Making this is new permanent smell while sweat began to bead on his forehead and drip down his hairier body. His shoes had gotten tighter as I made his feet thicker and hairier to match the rest of his modified body. But that wasn’t all I was going to do. “This body will need to smoke everyday. A have a beer everyday or else Chase will get sick!” Definitely going to love having those addictions now.
I spent a week in his beefier hairy body. Getting chase used to his new life. The smell. The sweating. The smoking and the beer. I quit his job for him in accounting because it was going to be too much for him after my next change. Walking down the street I let Chase wake up. Letting him feel his body jiggly as it walked. Letting his feel that wind blowing through all the hair ! Chase was screaming instantly. Crying in his own head. I opened the door to the clinic and Chase demanded to know what was going on. I just laughed and ignored him. When the doctor came in I quickly signed the papers. Not even giving Chase enough time to read them. I wanted this to be a surprise for him. He demanded to know what was going on. The doctor came in with the syringe and prepped the needle. Chase demanded to know what was happening. “You sure you want this ?” Said the dr and I shook chase’s head for him. It was then I decided to tell Chase. In his head like a thought I told him how accounting was a thing of the past. I told him how my final change for him was to make another change. One that I couldn’t use magic for. Chase screamed and cried. He begged me not to do this. I held out his arm. Still under my control. Chase screamed. The needle was inserted in his arm by the doctor. And the doctor gave me one last chance to back out. I took the needle from his hands and plunged the fluid directly into Chase’s thicker hairier arm. And left his body completely.
I watched as Chase’s jaw went slack. Drool began to pool into his beard. For all the doctor knew. Chase just offered himself up for a liquid lobotomy. And injected himself too. Instantly dropping his iq from 140 to 60. Chase would never be an accountant again. He would be a big dumb lumbering brute for the rest of his life now.

Another brainrot ideas that I want to write but knows if I ever will.
‘Bad idea right?’ By Olivia Rodrigo.
Damian and Jon have broken up. It was ugly. Phone numbers blocked. Situations avoided if the other would be there. The like.
Cue {indefinite amount of time later} and the Waynes are hosting a gala. Bored after a while, Tim finds Damian in the corner, and finds him near frantically texting.
“Who are you talking to?”
“Jon.”
And Tim (like literally everyone) knows these two are still head over heels and soulmates and all of it, that everyone’s just biding their time until they get their heads out of their asses.
But.
Tim is still his brother and worries about other people hurting his perpetually bleeding heart. So he questions that decision bluntly. And Damian, already smirking and clearly energetic/excited shrugs him off, while nonchalantly mentioning Jon asked him to hang out because HE was bored and knows Damian hates galas.
Tim questions again. Asks what they’re gonna do. Damian shrugs him off, says nothing, probably watch TV or play a few rounds of some game.
Tim, knowing already how this goes, and has lived it himself of course, reminds him how Bruce feels about any of them sneaking out of social events.
Damian shrugs again. Says he won’t be gone long. Honestly just gonna go tell Jon he’s a loser. Their father won’t even notice. Especially if Tim covers for him a little.
Tim, smiling himself, takes a gulp of his champagne and says “Don’t be too long.”
They, of course, don’t see Damian until he’s sneaking into the manor the next morning, terribly, poorly covering the hickey on his neck.
Bruce may or may not deep sigh and hand Tim hundreds in wager winnings.

So what really happened in Red Robin between Dick and Tim?
Because I am constantly seeing misrepresentations of it, I want to talk about the actual events of Red Robin, and Dick and Tim's relationship during it. It's a favorite storyline for fandom to use and riff on, and so for people who haven't read the source, it's hard to know what is canon and what is fanon.
Honestly? It might be easier to just go read the issues. The majority of what I'm going to discuss here all happens in the first 4 issues of Red Robin (though I cover some stuff through the first 12), and I enjoyed that entire run, but if you'd rather hear a random internet user tell ya their take on it, read on.
This is going under a cut because it's long. But TLDR? Dick is not the bad guy in this situation. No one is the bad guy in this situation. If we had to name one... poor coping skills? And though they do fight, they ultimately reconcile because Tim and Dick are brothers who love each other.
Damian
First things first, let's talk about Damian. Did Dick give Robin to Damian without even informing Tim, so Tim had to find out by Damian showing up in the Robin costume? Not exactly.
So, some technicalities. Damian had worn the costume before the infamous Batcave scene. In Batman: Battle for the Cowl #3, he's given it by Alfred and goes with Squire to save Tim. So, not only has Damian worn the costume before, Tim has seen it.
However, arguably this is also before Dick has accepted the mantle, so the scene in the cave is still notable as it is Dick specifically informing Tim that Damian will be his Robin. And Tim had also worn the costume out for a one-time rescue months before he officially became Robin (also enabled by Alfred), so I'm still of the idea that the cave scene is The Scene about the Robin mantle being passed down.
That being the case, I'm still going to defend Dick anyway.
Firstly, he told Tim before Damian showed up. But it's true that he didn't give Tim a choice, and that Tim was NOT okay with it.
Tumblr media
Damian shows up and talks some shit, Tim punches him in the face, and then storms out.
Tumblr media
Overall, it went pretty terribly! But I'm of the opinion that there was no good ending here. Damian needs the family connection that the mantle of Robin would give him in order to feel accepted, not to mention the close supervision that the duo of Batman and Robin would provide. But Tim is extremely attached to Robin 14 years after this comic and he still hasn't given it up and would never be happy being asked to give it up, especially when he's already lost so many things. One of them was going to end up unhappy. (Fwiw, I'm of the opinion that Dick is right, and Damian needs Robin a lot more than Tim does. But that doesn't mean that that decision wouldn't hurt Tim, too.)
Arguably, Dick could have been a bit nicer when doing this, but let's be fair to Dick: his father figure has just died, and suddenly he has to be Batman, and he now has a young child he is partly in charge of. That's a lot to be dumped on his lap, not to mention that he didn't want to be Batman (he initially refused despite Bruce's wishes, and only took it on after basically being forced to after Jason tried to take on the mantle, killed a bunch of people, and injured both Damian and Tim), and said child is a highly traumatized child who is still in the process of basically cult de-conditioning! So Tim could also be asked to be a lot more understanding than he's being. But Tim's too wrapped up in his own grief to see that. Just like Dick's too wrapped up in his own issues to properly deal with Tim.
He has a lot of shit going on and he can't juggle it all. Tim is coping incredibly poorly with his own circumstances. They clash and neither comes out happy. It sucked. But to say that Dick is the bad guy here... He made the best decision he could when given no right options. I do think that he made a mistake here in his approach, but to call his entire relationship with Tim into question due to it... doesn't make as much sense to me (especially because of the events which follow!)
Self-isolation
So, did everyone abandon Tim? Did his family forget him and leave him out to dry?
Absolutely not. The opposite, really. Tim pushed everyone away, despite them repeatedly reaching out to him.
One thing to note about Tim here is that he is self-isolating extremely hard. Even after their argument about Robin, Dick keeps trying to reach out to Tim. Tim pushes him away. Tim pushes everyone away. And this is not even subtle- it's shown in the text very clearly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Multiple people try to talk to Tim, and Tim absolutely refuses them.
Tumblr media
Tim is pissed even at the idea that Dick might be checking up on him. And Tim and Steph's relationship is super rocky right now, and he takes her concern for him poorly. Part of that can be attributed to an ongoing fight between them, a lack of trust implicit there, but combined with everything else it's also clearly Tim pushing away all of his lifelines.
Cassie also comes to try to check on him- after he dodges her attempts to contact him, she flies all the way to Gotham. But when told that a man who everyone knows as dead, and whose body was recovered and buried, is still alive, she doesn't believe him. (And considering Cassie has already dealt with Tim's grief regarding Conner and his suuuuuper rational reaction there, one might understand even more why she doesn't believe him right away.) And Tim immediately pushes her away for it. He doesn't try to give her any explanation, doesn't respond to her concern, he just immediately cuts the cord.
Tumblr media
(And just a note that when Cassie doesn't know who else to turn to about Tim? She turns to Dick! Because she knows how important Dick is to Tim. And yes, right now Tim is mad at Dick and resents that Steph and Cassie go to him, but that doesn't change the fact that when people think about caring for Tim, Dick is the first person they go to.)
Dick and Tim's argument
Did Dick refuse to believe Tim, despite Tim having evidence, call him crazy and threaten to throw him in Arkham? NOPE.
That is entirely fanon. And one of the more pervasive, and annoying, misrepresentations of Dick's character, as it causes people to talk shit about him.
So. What actually happened? (We're getting into full pages here because I am not letting anyone get this conversation twisted.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dick shows up and speaks to Tim compassionately, though decisively, about the fact that Bruce is dead and they need to learn to move on and deal with that grief in a healthy manner. He then offers help to Tim once more, and is rejected, Tim instead opting to start a fight in classic emotionally-repressed Bat tradition. (Which, sidenote, do you think they do this just so that panels during a long conversation are more dynamic instead of two people standing there talking to each other?)
Tumblr media
Tim pleads his case to Dick....to an extent. Notice, however, that he never mentions that he has any reason to believe what he does. Doesn't even try to convince Dick to believe him, really. Just insists that he's right after he makes a good case on why he does in fact sound crazy.
Tumblr media
And then, Dick offers help. He suggests that Tim talk to a therapist. This person is, notably, NOT ARKHAM ASYLUM. Isn't even secretly Arkham, because they're in Metropolis!
And, frankly, the idea that someone suggesting therapy to his brother who is dealing poorly with grief has been equated to "calling him crazy and trying to get him thrown in jail/committed" is absolutely bonkers to me. I know that it's more likely that someone escalated the stakes for drama in their fanfic or something, and for some reason that's the version that circulated, but from here to there is a LEAP. And for people to claim it's canon is frustrating to say the least.
Tumblr media
And finally. Tim tells Dick to let him leave. And Dick does. Dick stops trying to stop Tim, and lets him go. He trusts in Tim enough to let him do what he thinks is right, even if Dick himself disagrees. He does it because Tim asks him to.
Is it a mistake? Maybe. Does it make Tim forgive Dick for choosing Damian as his Robin? Definitely not. But it's very clearly not because he doesn't care, not because he's too busy to pay attention to Tim. It's an act of respect, of treating Tim as an equal who is capable of making his own decisions. In that way, it's showing his trust to Tim.
I have an entirely separate post on the subject of why Dick not believing Tim is narratively supported to make later (EDIT: posted here!), so I'm gonna go on a little Tim rant here instead. Because this post isn't long enough.
During this time, Tim is consistently begging for people to believe in him, while also refusing to play all his cards. The picture that started his hunch is never brought up. Frankly, I'm not sure that even if he did show it to everyone that people would believe him, but I think it's telling that he doesn't.
First, I kind of see it as Tim engaging in a "relationship test". They're the kind of thing that only people who are deeply insecure or in a bad place think to do- if I stop talking to all my friends, how long will it take people to notice? Who's going to notice that I'm upset without me saying anything, who really cares about me? If I share an insane theory, who is going to believe me point blank?
They're the kind of thing that is....not healthy in any way, shape, or form, and really aren't fair to the people you're testing. Sure, someone "passing" the test may show that they care for you (and, ultimately, the only person who believes Tim without reservation is Kon, once he comes back- and that unquestioning belief and loyalty is meaningful), but "failing" the test doesn't mean that they don't care. And they're ultimately a sort of self-sabotage, because you know that most people are going to fail because you know the test is unfair.
And that's exactly what it is: self-sabotage. As previously mentioned, Tim is massively self-isolating during this part of the arc, and pushing people away because they "don't believe him" is just one facet of that self-isolation. But he also doesn't try to get them to believe him, doesn't even give them that chance, because his ultimate goal is not to actually get anyone on his side, but to push everyone away. That's not to say that he secretly doesn't want people to believe him, but... he's acting mostly irrationally. He wants people to believe him but won't let them close enough to meaningfully give them the chance to do so.
Second, as much as Tim says that he's positive he's right and he's going to prove it, he's straight up lying, and he's actually not that sure at this point. And he's probably terrified that if he does show his proof, that someone will see it and still not believe him, and he'll have to face the fact that his only piece of evidence is extremely flimsy and that his conviction is based much more on grief than it actually is on logic.
Tumblr media
So. Yeah, no one believes him. And that does suck, and it's a hit to him. But he didn't exactly give them a chance. He's preemptively cutting people out before they have a chance to hurt him or point out where he's wrong.
Tim is still a pitiable character here. He's a disaster and a wet puddle of a man who is living through the worst time in his entire life. But he's not a poor victim, scorned by his family and the world at large, thought to be crazy for no reason at all! Instead, he's (much more interestingly, imo) a kid dealing with his grief incredibly poorly, self-isolating and refusing every outstretched hand, clinging desperately on to his last hope that maybe his world hasn't changed as much as it seems like it has.
Blackest Night
Blackest Night is a huge crossover event that happened during the Red Robin run; technically speaking, you can skip it without missing anything in the plot of Red Robin, but it does have some good moments that highlight Tim's mental state and his relationship with Dick.
So, Tim leaves Gotham, but when Black Lantern Rings start bringing a bunch of people back from the dead in the form of zombies, including Dick and Tim's parents, Dick calls him back to Gotham. And Tim, looking at the decaying zombie corpse of his parents, is also arguing that he can save them.
Tumblr media
When faced with an evil zombie that is trying to kill him, Tim still says "I can still fix this, I can save him". And Dick, as compassionately as ever, tries to talk sense into him. It's the exact same situation as with Bruce, but this time Tim is absolutely wrong.
And with this situation as a parallel, I think it's a lot clearer how unreasonable Tim's mental state is. He might seem like he's just a misunderstood genius in Bruce's case because he happened to be right, but the fact of the matter is, he's not thinking clearly. And he'd cling onto the same hopes even when he's wrong. With Bruce's case, he got lucky.
Also! This panel.
Tumblr media
Even with all of this between them, Tim still answers Dick that he trusts him, with no hesitation. Of course.
Reconciliation
So, does Tim come back to Gotham, replaced and forgotten, and become isolated from the rest of the Bats?
Nope! There is, actually, a reconciliation of sorts between Dick and Tim. Admittedly, there is no scene where Dick outright says he's sorry, and Tim says he forgives him. But in my reading, there are interactions that serve a similar purpose, if you read between the lines.
After Tim finds proof of what's been going on with Batman, had a whole thing with the League and the Council of Spiders, and blown up a bunch of League bases, he returns to Gotham where Ra's is enacting a plan to get revenge for Tim acting against him: destroying Batman's legacy. Everything he loved and everything he built is in the crosshairs.
And when he's trying to figure out what Ra's is planning, he meets back up with Dick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim is spewing crazy theories, and with absolutely no proof or explanation, he turns to Dick and asks him to trust him. And this time, Dick tells him, Of course. The fraction between them that preceded Tim's departure from Gotham is repeated, and this time Dick tells Tim he trusts him, and asks what he can do to help.
(This time, Dick does call Tim crazy, while he's muttering to himself. And then he chooses to trust him anyway.)
Granted, this is not an actual apology. But it feels like a second chance. One more bid for connection, and this time Dick meets him in the middle and reciprocates.
Anyway, since when do siblings actually verbally say "I'm sorry"?
And then... quick summary, in case you want the real details for the following events:
Ra's sends assassins after all the people Batman cares about to distract Tim from the fact that he's getting Hush (who is impersonating Bruce Wayne) to sign over Wayne Enterprises. But Tim wins because he finally stops self-isolating and gets his many friends to protect everyone who needs protecting while Tim faces off against Ra's. (Which is, ultimately, a climax of his character arc for this story- reaching out and trusting people again. Team up guy back in action!)
Tim's able to keep Ra's busy long enough that Lucius can file the paperwork to make him the majority shareholder of Wayne Enterprises, thwarting Ra's' attempt at a takeover. However, Ra's wins the fight, and Tim ends up plummeting to his death out of the window.
And then Dick catches him.
Later, Dick asks Tim how he could have planned for Dick to be there to save him.
Tumblr media
And Tim says "You're my brother, Dick. You'll always be there for me."
This scene has been talked to death, because most people are at a consensus: this is a fucking lie. Tim didn't know that Dick would be there, and was fully prepared to die.
However! I'm not here to rehash this. I just want to add my take. It's a lie, but. Tim is a good liar. And every good liar knows that the best lies have a grain of truth in them.
I do believe that Tim didn't know that anyone would be there to save him. But I also believe that he fully means what he says here, that it's not just to placate Dick. Tim is telling Dick that he trusts him, that he believes in him, that they're brothers. It's forgiveness.
I could keep citing all the places where Tim shows an unconditional belief in Dick that happen after this arc, to prove that their relationship is truly mended after this and that they don't continue fighting, but that happens often enough that you could just read any comic including Tim and Dick and I'm sure Tim will say some fanboy shit eventually.
So, that's it! If you take nothing else from this post, take this at least: Tim and Dick LOVE each other, and they might fight, but they forgive each other, and if you try to talk shit about Dick Grayson, Tim will be one of the first to fight you, guaranteed. Suffice to say:

Since so far it's overwhelming, yes, I hope you enjoy this idea
Tma plus mechs
So, death to the mechanisms happened, and it just sent them back to where they first died or got mechanisms
They reunite and come to terms with the fact that functionally immortal isn't exactly something they can call it anymore.
So Tim suggests following a conspiracy on his earth, well technically two, one what happened to his great great great grandfather Daniel Stoker, and why is there a single year missing that the whole world at that time forgot
Jonny smells a new story, and he's excited
Everyone else agrees because they need a distraction, and a few of them can disguise themselves as human
Jonny dawns a hunter hat to cover his ears and horns and uses his tail as a fourth belt
Tim uses black glasses to hide his eyes.
Marius uses a beanie to cover his pointed ears and uses his tail as a belt
Ivy can't go due to her skin being blue, but she does anyhow because of earth books.
Brain and the Toy Soldier don't stay on the ship it's more like Brian has become the unofficial TS handler
Ashes can pass for human if she keeps her mouth covered and her hands and feet also covered.
Raphaella goes for her experiments, but her wings are a dead giveaway along with her red tinted skin and scales.
Nastya stays on the Aurora, thankful for the peace and time with her partner she can no way pass as human and doesn't want to try.
Ok that's out of the way.
Season one Martin is on his way to the Vittery follow-up and runs into Jonny. He's polite and kind as always apologizing for running into him.
Jonny thinks he's cute, but that's it, but he followed him just because he can, and the spider thing was interesting. He didn't expect to catch this kind man to sneak into the apartment, and he just had to follow behind.
The worm lady was something else, and Jonny expected Martin to freeze like a mortal. He was cute, but that happens.
Martin pushes Jonny back. "Run, she's focused on me, not you, and well, you have a better chance than I do."
Jonny stares at this fool of a man, and he can feel a heat on his cheeks as he takes out his gun and shoots the woman a few times, enough to get her on the floor but she was getting up. He grabs Martin's hand, and they run out together. He makes up a lie about why he has a gun.
Martin is thankful and doesn't really have anything for him, so he offers to take him for a meal.
Jonny, like an idiot asks for his number, not even having an earth phone to use it. Martin gives him it.
Jonny steals a phone, and it works. They plan for a proper dinner on a later date.
Jonny is the first to realize that Martin isn't answering right, and since Martin led him to his apartment the first time, he just went there. The worm lady had his phone and was trying to get into his apartment.
Jonny kills her first good and gets Martin to open the door.
Martin is shocked. "I uh... you saved me twice." He shifts. "I don't have anything to give you..."
"Make our dinner a date." Jonny blurts out, realizing too late he has fallen for a mortal.
Time passes
Jon doesn't believe Martin's story about the worms and thinks his text was a poorly timed joke
Martin didn't get any worms to show him as proof.
Martin goes on more dates with Jonny, and Jonny falls hard and fast, and Tim catches them together
Tim laughs and thinks Jonny is pulling a bad prank... he quickly realizes that.... oh shit Jonny is actually in love. Jonny is in love, and he has been with this mortal for 3 months.
Tim softens, and it infuriates Jonny to no end. Tim spreads the news to everyone.
Jonny thankfully distracts Tim, talking about Martin's coworker, and another Tim with the same last name.
"You work with Tim Stoker?" Tim slams his hands on the table, interrupting another date Martin was on with Jonny.
"Why do you keep finding us?" Jonny huffs. "I told him that to keep him away from us."
Martin smiles softly. "I do work with him. Do you know him?"
"In a sense. We are related, he's a distant relative, and I've been interested in finding out more about my family." Tim smiles, adjusting his glasses as Jonny kicks his shin.
"Oh really? That's cool. Uh, we work together at the Magnus Institute, you can find him at normal work hours." Martin hums. "Although I don't know about his other family, he doesn't talk about them much, but families are complicated, and I would rather not pull that information from him."
"I know that." Jonny sighs, sipping his tea. "Families are bs nonsense."
"Just because you had a shifty home life doesn't mean everyone else did." Tim rolls his eyes under his glasses.
"I mean, I had a bad childhood, too, had to grow up fast taking care of my mom. My dad wasn't in the picture. Mom was always sick, and stuff had to give up school to work to care for her." Martin bites his tongue. "It's not a big deal, though you can forget I said anything."
Jonny reached out and held Martin's hand with a soft smile. "It's alright. I'm happy to learn more about you."
Tim has a look of shock on his features as he quickly runs away from the private scene. He quickly texts the group chat. "Jonny is fucked. He actually comforted Martin and cared about his hurt feelings."
The chat goes fucking nuts.
More time passes
Martin meets a few other mechanisms, and he somehow charms all of them. He beats them at cards, shows them he can sing, and the others see how head over heels Jonny is. He can also go against Tim for his drinking. He was also an amazing liar that he fooled Ashes and Brian.
Just to be certain, he won over the mechs, and Raphella and Marius actually tried to figure out a way to keep the man around with them.
Things at the archive are normal
Jon hums, looking through the reports and sighs getting up he heads out in the bullpen.
"Good Jon, wanna go for drinks tonight?" Tim hums.
"I have work to do Tim." Jon rolls his eyes.
"Oh, come on." Tim huffs. "Boss man, you have to unwind. Ain't that right, Marto?"
Martin looks up and blinks. "I uh right.... I can't actually go tonight."
Sasha raised a brow. "You never not go, Martin."
"I uh I'm meeting my boyfriend's sister tonight." Martin blushes. "She's actually coming out to meet me, and we'll I can't cancel that."
Jon raised his brow as a pang of something he would later figure out that jealousy in his chest affects him. "You have a boyfriend?"
"Jon, that's old news." Tim sighs. "You would know Martin's been seeing a Jonny for the past year if you bothered to chat with us and not hold yourself up in your office. You've been a real ass and a stick in the mud since the promotion."
"Tim's right, you don't have to be a hard ass Jon. This place won't burn down if you have fun for once." Sasha sighs. "Also, Martin, that's great. I hope you have fun and you'll make a great first impression."
"Thanks, Sasha." Martin smiles, collecting his bag and walking past a stunned Jon. "Next week Tim, I'll be free."
"Bring Jonny!" Tim chuckles as Martin shouts back a I'll try.
Martin meeting Nastya wasn't what he expected. She was taller and an odd shade blueish silver, and Jonny did warn him about the skin condition, and so he didn't mention it. She had a disapproving gaze on her face and annoyance in her eyes.
"Um, uh, I'm Martin." Martin gives a nervous smile. "I uh... Jonny didn't tell me what you liked, but I do a bit of knitting, so I made you a scarf." It's a light blue scarf with a coud pattern. it's beautiful and doesn't look handmade. "I know it's not perfect, but uh, I wanted to make a good first impression."
Nastya face softens slightly as she takes the softest scarf she has ever felt in her hands. Her species was built for the cold and didn't need something like this, but the craftsmanship and texture were something else. She puts it on immediately.
Jonny actually looked surprised.
Nastya clears her throat. "Jonny tells me you work in an archive?"
"I'm just an archival assistant, nothing special. You're a mechanic, right? That is much more interesting than dealing with horror stories and dusty old statements all day." Martin smiles and swallows. "I mean, if that's your thing, I don't blame you it can be interesting."
Nastya hums her interest was piqued, and as she discussed more with Martin, she understood everyone's infatuation with him. Not to mention the way Jonny looked at him and how nervous he was that he actually attempted to prevent her from meeting him.
......
Martin convinces Jonny to join drinks with Tim and Sasha and the other Jon.
GP Tim joins as well, finally able to meet this Tim.
"Whoa, so you're the infamous Jonny." Tim smirks. "I expected you to be taller."
GP Tim snickers.
Jonny huffs. "I am perfectly fine with my height."
Jon was staring from the booth scowling.
Sasha hums. "Who are you?"
GP Tim smiles. "Another Tim."
"Fuck yeah another Tim!" Tim gives him a Hi five.
Martin chuckles and grabs Jonny's hand. "Come on, I'll introduce you to Sasha and Jon."
Jonny nods and has a light blush from the contact.
Jonny and Jon immediately hate each other, and Jonny makes it a point to practically sit in Martin's lap the entire night.
Sasha realizes that Jon might actually have feelings for Martin and decides to be a little chaotic agent nudging both men to drink more.
Tim and GP Tim break off from the group for some darker topics
That's what I've got for now

headcanon meme: Steph? or Talia.
oh THANK you. (has self-control voice) i'll do both! i haven't read batgirl 2000 or the talia stuff with lexcorp (which i hear is the real good talia stuff) so we're going fast and loose.
Steph:
Headcanon A:  realistic
Steph fought desperately hard for Bruce's approval, but she never really liked Bruce. "Like" is not the emotion you feel towards the man you're killing yourself to get the occasional pleased grunt from. Now that she's older and is learning how to wear the Bat without being the Bat, and remembering what she knew back when she was making her own costume– how to be a hero in her own right– she wonders why the others are still so hung up on this guy. And then he'll nod his head her way, or make a little surprised hum when she does something well, and the rush of vindictive satisfaction reminds her that she may be older but she's not immune, not yet.
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
meme queen. has a curated folder of tiktoks specifically for bullying purposes. her chat history with tim is mostly sending him increasingly wet-looking cats captioned "this u?"
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
Babs is a good mentor. As far as being controlling and secretive, though, she could give Bruce a run for his money. Cass is not a great sounding board for talking about this, because she thinks Bruce's shit is normal. Steph thinks about trying to talk to some of her school friends about anything she does in costume and gives it up as a bad job. Even if she described it as a movie plot, or a book she was reading, it's all too unbelievable.
It's okay. She's good at working alone, at feeling alone, even if the whole point of having a mentor was that she wouldn't have to patch herself up anymore. At least sometimes she gets to fight with Cass, though.
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
Steph thinks Dinah is soooooo cool and pretty and amazing. She desperately wants Dinah to train her, and unfortunately, whenever Dinah is around Steph devolves into complete and wretched incompetence, so she never actually makes it past a few sparring sessions in the Clocktower.
Talia:
Headcanon A:  realistic
Talia is good. She's good at what she does. She always has been. She keeps her networks clean, her informants precise, her operatives surgical. The only thing she's ever failed to do is kill her father. Give it time.
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
Likes to cook in the way rich people often like to cook, which is that about once every six months, when the mood strikes her, she will descend upon the kitchen of whatever house she's staying in, leave her bracelets in a jumble in a bowl, and wreak absolute havoc making something stupidly elaborate. The food is delicious! She doesn't believe in doing things poorly. She has never once washed a dish. (She and Bruce are two peas in a pod in this regard.)
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
She misses Damian. She misses Jason. She misses Bruce. She misses everyone she has ever sent away to keep them safe from her father's claws. She knows better than to think she is ever getting out, but it's a comfort to know that they did.
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
[I don't want all of these to revolve around Talia as mother but also I primarily know her from my Damian read so with that caveat:]
Talia was never particularly interested in being a mother when she was younger. She doesn't think her father was ever particularly interested in being a father; or if he was, that was several hundred years ago, and she came along too late to benefit. She always assumed she'd have children if she needed to, and someone else would handle it.
And then she has a son. Someone else could have handled it, but she thinks about playing chess with her father, his back disappearing down all those empty hallways, the sword in her hand never quite fast enough to catch his eye. Bruce's son deserves better. She doesn't want her son to grow to resent her. And she's never been one to shy from getting her hands dirty. She raises Damian herself; she teaches him everything he ought to know; she makes him strong enough to survive, and then the part she has never quite managed herself: strong enough to leave.
The one thing she didn't think to account for is that Damian grows to resent her anyway.

Once again got all intense about how annoying Ra'sTim haters are. I'm remembering that time on Twitter not long ago when they were calling Ra'sTim i*cest... Yeah I know, Twitter is hell, but come on! 😭
I think it's particularly funny because Ra's is a man who reduces his family to his blood ties and even then he is picky. He *will* disown his children (not hurt them! Do not confuse it!) if he considers he has been betrayed so the proposition that he would see Tim as family... And that Tim would see Ra's as family! It's just so funny to me. Tell me you don't read comics without telling me you don't read comics.
I believe Tim and Ra's (before properly interacting) used to see each other as villain and hero. Period. Tim studies Batman's villains and cases so for him Ra's is synonym of bad guy, extremely dangerous, probably best if avoided. Ra's keeps an eye in all the bats, so Tim (still Robin) is a threat too: awfully loyal to the Batman, highly trained, more likely will provoke lots of damage and won't die. And that's mostly it, until Ra's is forced to meet the bats more frequently due to Damian going to live with Bruce. Ra's is more aware of Tim's abilities, and Tim is more aware of the danger Ra's represents, which I think explains why their meetings go as they do.
I don't think Ra's labels Tim as Damian's brother, but he might label Tim as Bruce's son. Which doesn't mean that makes Ra's *feel* like he's related to Tim, and similarly, Tim labels Ra's as Damian's grandfather, but nothing to him. There's no familiar tie between them, nor is their dynamic close to that, so I do wonder why people look at Ra's saying he wants a heir with Tim's blood and think that's familiar and not low-key homoerotic.
I get it if people dislike Ra'sTim due to the "dark" elements (tho I consider them very tame if compared to ships as Hannigram for example) but there's nothing on them that makes it "i*cest" so I do get mad when people accuse them of so. Particularly when it's the fans of certain Ra's' child and her ship who do so, as if Ra'sTim fandom doesn't actually treat her better than gen fans. Hell, Ra'sTim fics always lean in portraying her nicely, erasing the awkward comic canon and allowing her to have her classical bond with Damian. I have even seen certain tendency to ship her with Bruce (tho yes I admit most fandom goes with BatCat, myself included). So the fact that they have this need of hating Ra'sTim is annoying, because Ra'sTim is NOT the fandom treating their fav poorly nor doing anything wrong.
It's awful that we aren't allowed to like Ra's as his own character, that we aren't allowed to speak freely of the interesting elements of shipping him with MEN. Exploring a queer, individual Ra's al Ghul has taught me a lot about storytelling. Exploring an scenario where he falls in love with someone who contrasts with him the way Tim does has made me realize that fanfiction can be more than "I disliked the ending" and that you can write your own opinions on characters that sometimes other people share. It has been amazing and I adore it.
So what I'm trying to say is... People should stop being these loud, violent haters. There's no need for this. Why can't people let others enjoy themselves?

Thinking about Nightwing/Batgirl vs Nightwing/Starfire and my hot take is that Dick and Kory should be endgame because Dick and Babarba is kind of incestuous.
Not in the sense of it being “icky”, but in the sense of it not allowing the Bat-family to grow and branch out and limiting it’s genetic diversity, in a manner of speaking.
Like, there’s already so many Batman proteges all trading around the same three or four code names. Poor Tim even had Stephanie and Damian calling themselves “Robin” when he wasn’t even dead or retired from the role. Stephanie had to go back to being “Spoiler” so Barbara could be Batgirl again. Jason tried to be Nightwing when the writers were just considering killing Dick off and then a bunch of randos tried to make it a collective moniker for a team. Dick left Gotham and became Nightwing to get out of Batman’s shadow but then he ends up having to take on the role of Batman while he’s Comic Book Dead. He’s supposed to live in Bludhaven but he’s constantly getting dragged back to Gotham to help Batman with one thing or another. The Batman writers even made Dick break-up with Starfire because him being preoccupied with the Teen Titans meant he wasn’t available for them to use in Batman stories, which kinda misses the entire point of having him outgrow the sidekick role and leave Batman in the first place.
So I feel like if you have Dick and Barbara get together, it’s just continuing to tie Dick down to the Bat-family and preventing him from spreading his wings. You know if they have kids together someday the boy(s) are gonna be another Robin/Nightwing/Batman and the girl(s) are gonna be another Batgirl/Batwoman/Oracle and they’re always going to be defined as Batman’s grandkids, Batman’s proteges, his successors, his legacy.
With Dick and Kory you don’t have to keep up the perpetual cycle of Batman getting a new protege who looks up to him at first and then eventually figures out how miserable he is and how poorly he’s coping with his trauma and realizes that they don’t want to be like him. You can tell new stories that go beyond the scope of Gotham. You can have stories that deal with the ramifications of Dick marrying an alien princess and technically being the prince consort of Tamaran and their kids being heir to the throne. You could do something really interesting with the idea of them having a biracial child and wanting them to be connected to the cultures of both parents’ home planets. Even if the kid does end up becoming another Batman protege, at least they’d be bringing something new to the table by being the first Bat-kid with actual superpowers.
I also think it’d be more interesting for Barbara to get a love-interest outside the Bat-family as well. Maybe even follow Dick’s lead and retire from the Batgirl role, pass it back to Stephanie or Cass or some new girl and either go back to being Oracle or get a brand new identity and venture off to a new city. Go solo and do her own thing her own way, not as a Batman sidekick.
Actually, you know if she did go solo and got her very own rogues gallery that would open up opportunities for her to have some sexual tension with a hot villain. Bruce has Talia and Selina. Terry had Ace. Nightwing has basically every woman good or evil. Let Barbara have something special with a hot bad boy.
I don’t dislike Dick/Barbara as ship, but I think there’s something kind of sweet and wholesome about them just being two people who used to date and are now best friends who love each other like siblings and I think it’s better for both characters if it stays that way.

the trailer made me feel so empty. Not because its the last season, its because nothing in that trailer felt same and i know as soon as the episodes are gonna drop im gonna get the same feeling. And Ej:( It seems like EJ is just there to give Ricky all the comfort he didn’t get when he was feeling down. And im 100% sure that their conversation is about future after hs or gina.
Its already clear that r**a is going to be endgame and portwell will just have a quick closure that is gonna be writen poorly. And knowing tim he will make them not speak to each other for the rest of the season. Which already makes me mad and sad.
Anyway i have a feeling that the season is gonna leave me feeling empty because of all the quick writing.
And thoughts on poster bc it really wasn’t it
I honestly don't even feel like it's the same show anymore. I know a lot of people hate on season 2 but i actually thought it was really true to the characters and season 3 wasn't as much, and season 4 seems to be going in that direction too. It makes me so sad to see this show i loved so much be so different now. It's not even necessarily bad, it's just so different. It's a situation where i think to myself that this isn't what i signed up for when i started season 1.
I hope EJ has a good ending, even through it all. Rina is definitely endgame, there's no way it's not given this is the last season. I hope at least everyone is happy.
I know this is reaching, but i also hope they got Olivia to be in the last episode, even for only a couple scenes. This show is what ultimately led to her career skyrocketing, and her character gave comfort to so many people. Plus, i think it's only fair to see what came of Nini in the show finale.
Also i'm with you on the postee thing, what is it with this trend of needing to have every single character on the poster? I really like this poster for season 1-
Tumblr media
Sorry it's kinda blurry but anyway, it was straight to the point, it gave you an idea of what the season was gonna be about without overwhelming you with a bunch of floating heads on the screen.
Anyway, i just want everyone to be happy, that's all :')

Hey, I’ve always loved your works, and I’m delighted to have found your tumblr!
(TL;DR: I really like the way you write relationships and I’m sorry you’re dealing with some shitty comments) Can I just say, I absolutely love the actions and characterizations of your latest mind-link fic? It’s just so raw and so real, and honestly, I absolutely love these types of fics where good people mess up and behave like assholes. Because we’re all human, we’re all people, and life and love and relationships are messy, messy things.
I don’t want cookie cutter perfect relationships, I want these 3D ones that shows that it’s okay that people fuck up. So many fanfics have a perfect protagonist (and I mean, more power to them, it’s their fanfic), but I personally *love* when the main character messes up and just- snaps at someone or is a little selfish. It just makes it so much more human and relatable. And it makes the fluff that comes after 10000% better because you know how much they care for each other, to make up and to work past issues because they think the other person is worth it.
Anyways, sorry for rambling at ya- I just wanted to express exactly how much I love your recent fic and my utter bafflement at the asshole comments. People are going to fuck up! It happens! And if you don’t want to read about that, that’s 100% fine! But stop yelling at the author, it’s not your fic! It’s theirs!
Thank you so much! I think you encapsulated the issue really well.
Don't get me wrong, I love reading fics where my blorbo is overpowered and can do no wrong and everyone else is in the wrong -- it's really fun and there's some awesome stories like that! It's fiction, and if that's how the author writes that character, I'm down.
I also like reading stories where it's grittier and complicated and closer to real life. I like both! The latter is hard to read constantly, because it's too much like real life to be an escape sometimes.
For borderline, I really wanted to dive into the complicated and awkward feelings that don't always make it into fics (for good reasons). Things like people in the bond feeling someone's else's arousal/other bodily functions, personal thoughts that are never shared out loud, instinctive reactions to things people can't control or even verbalize to themselves. Etc...
The reality is, even the best blorbo comes off poorly when we see their every thought, action, and memory in technicolor. People are complicated, and even genuinely good people rarely fall into that easy, good/not good binary every second of every day.
I think a lot of conflict in my comment section comes from discord over Tim and Damian (and to a lesser extent, Bruce) not being "perfect" or equally bad/good.
I've said it before, and I will reiterate it here: I appreciate the stories where Tim/Damian/etc are written as the victim, the wronged party, the protagonist, etc. I'm not knocking them here. But this isn't that kind of fic -- no one is right, here, or the sole protagonist/wronged party.
Tim isn't a bad guy any more than Damian is. Nor is Damian a better person or victim more so than Tim. Their situations are wildly different and so are their motivations/experiences. Hence why it's interesting (or at least, I think so) to see them involuntarily connected and at odds.
It's okay to disagree with my characterization! You don't have to read my fic. But I think taking a breath and Xing out is better than arguing with me/other readers in the comments about how your favorite character is being mis-written or treated.

Because I love angst....
There’s some fics where Tim tries to help Jason to kill him so that he can rejoin the family, where he assumes Jason and the rest of the family won’t miss him and he is passively suicidal.
Usually, it goes that he’s mistaken. I want a world where’s he not.
Jason brutally murders Tim in Titan’s Tower...maybe even worse. (R*pe) Then, he destroys the body, and sets off to rejoin the batfam.
Bruce and Dick, are, predictably, overjoyed to have Jason back. They don’t know he killed Tim—he’s gone missing, but nobody really cares too much. Why should they? It’s a miracle. Jason’s back.
Sure, Kon and Bart care, but they die soon after, in manners similar to canon.
Time goes on. Jason tells them the censored story. They weep and hug him. All is well. He doesn’t regret killing the imposter.
But it starts to feel a little strange, because he thought he’d have to try a little harder, if you know what he means. Bruce takes over a month to actually open a case regarding Tim. Nobody opens it for weeks at a time. No one is really *looking*— it seems they’re content to let it lie.
Tim’s school eventually reports his drop in attendance. The Drakes take a month to return home. They pay off the police to keep the investigation hush-hush— Drake Industries might not be able to tank the bad publicity if it gets out that their son is likely dead due to their negligence.
They leave again, for Peru, or Ecuador, or Suriname. Jason can’t keep it straight.
He kept one trophy. A single tooth, from the back of the mouth. He had knocked it free with a crowbar sometime during the killing. He keeps it in a false bottom in his sock drawer. There’s nothing else. The acid made sure of that.
Meanwhile, he gets used to the evolution in operations down in the bat cave. There’s a few new rogues, a few new allies— Cass is pretty cool, he supposes. The bar computer is a lot better than he remembers. It’s a bit like the internet before and after google, the difference is so stark— messy, poorly formatted files are now neatly saved and backed-up and cross-referenced.
He asks Oracle about it. She mentions it being the work of— she pauses here, not wanting to say ‘the previous robin’.
Eventually, she says, “The Substitute”, even though Jason isn’t Robin anymore, is working on his own costume and identity with the help of his family. Red Hood is a dusty secret, not entirely MIA, but operated remotely so as to not draw the suspicion of his family.
It’s the first time he ever feels something about the boy that isn’t rage. It’s something else, gray and shriveled in his gut. He doesn’t know a word for it, and he doesn’t need to. He pushes it aside.
But he’s always had an addictive personality. A week later, he’s the only one in the cave. The bat computer just sits there, calling his name in a voice he doesn’t want to recognize. He heard it before, sobbing mostly.
He finds the old ID. When he logs in, the setup takes several minutes to load, which is strange, because everything is so much faster now, loading in milliseconds.
There’s files. More than Jason can even fathom. Case files, photos, and video footage from the Robin mask. Even a few AI chess-games with game times going into the months-long territory, differently coded ‘players’ wining or loosing matches against each other into perpetuity, with nobody left to witness them.
There’s a lot of side projects like that. They’re usually quite strange, technically complex, and Jason slowly realizes as he pores over them in between watching the trackers for Bruce and Dick’s return, bloody brilliant.
Weirdly, it just breeds a sort of awe in his chest. No anger.
And there’s the footage. It takes him bags full of high-storage flash-drives to get all of it. He watches it alone in his room. Tim Drake in black and white security footage in the cave, quietly cleaning up after Batman or sitting hunched at the bat computer— looking so small, hunched over with his legs tucked in like he’s cold.
Footage from his Robin encounters— he’s quiet, speaks far more rarely than Jason or Dick had. He’s got this sweet, soft little voice that Jason actually finds quite relaxing. Sometimes he mutters to himself when he’s solving a problem faster than Jason can believe, always sounding a little unsure of his own brilliance.
Jason’s always had an addictive personality. It’s why he killed Tim, in a way. He just gets obsessed.
It happens all over again, in reverse.
He starts seeing Tim in his dreams, in the corner of his vision when he’s tired. He doesn’t speak, and when Jason reaches for him, he’s always drifting away, his expression blank.
He runs out of footage. The dreams turn into nightmares. He’s running, screaming, crying, begging for a companion in a vast void, and there’s Tim, off in the distance, hunched over., never able to see or hear him.
Sometimes, he finds Tim, after wandering in the rocky hellscape for hours. Or, what’s left of him. It’s never a skeleton, always a fresh corpse— mangled almost beyond recognition if not for the tatters of red and green. It’s a familiar sight.
Back when Tim was reported missing to the Police, somebody— probably Dick— was sent over to the Drake manor to collect all of Tim’s things, hopefully clearing anything incriminating.
Jason checks the evidence storage. There’s long rows of it, shelves leading into the darkness of the vast cave tunnels. It takes him several nights to find the sealed plastic box.
DRAKE MANOR it is labeled in neat, blocky letters. In the notes section of the item sheet, it mentions a loose floorboard and a false panel in the wall. It’s clinical. The paper is damp and dusty.
When he opens it, he finds notebooks, stuffed with sticky notes and yellowed with use, and more than that, *photos*. His heart nearly stops, desperate for a new hit of his newest drug.
When he begins to look through them, he has to sit down, because— because they’re *old*. Really old.
He stares at a photo of himself as Robin, silhouetted proudly by the Gotham moon. It’s a great shot, perfect in composition and and coloring. He can’t imagine how long it took Tim to get it.
He couldn’t have been older than 11. He pictures the School photo-day records he had dug up, that even smaller, paler Tim, with his shy, gap-toothed smile.
His hand curls into a fist. There’s something wet in his eyes. For the first time, he allows himself to acknowledge its more than the dust.
He’s in love with Tim Drake, he thinks. He thinks it again. It’s stronger each time, more and more sure, until it’s a crescendo pumping in every inch of his body. It’s like the hot twin of the Pit, but somehow *more*. He can barely stand it.
He sends Bruce a note over the Bat-Chat about the status of the missing ‘neighbor’, as they tend to refer to him.
Bruce seems surprised he asked, and then reassures him that he always viewed Jason as the proper Robin. That boy didn’t mean anything to him, he says.
He gets an even more flippant response from Dick, punctuated by an octopus-hug that Jason has to excuse himself from to go vomit in the bathroom.
Because he knows that. He knows Tim didn’t mean anything to them. He can see it, in the old footage. In the way they treated him like a servant at best, a crutch, and a scapegoat at the worst.
He sees the shake of his skinny little limbs as he hauls himself out the back door in the snow back to the empty Drake Estate, his bruised ribs trembling in the cold.
He sees the glitzy press conference recently held by Drake Industries, where the only mentioned of their missing son was a token used to bolster their story of ‘resilience in the face of challenges’, garnering more donations to their nascent technology fund.
He knows Tim didn’t mean anything to them. He didn’t mean anything to anybody.
All alone.
Something in Jason curdles for the second time. This time, he needs no pit to grant him rage.
(Im going to continue this, but my phones dying lol. Expect a contusion In the coming days, but Id love to hear ur thoughts!!!!)
tim!!!😢😢😢😢 the fact that no one cares that tim died, no one looks into it at all!! jason slowly falling in love with tim through the little things about him that were left behind!
that line!! where jason realizes that both dick and bruce along with tim's parents don't care to know what happened to the boy that jason killed and whose body he destroyed. "He knows Tim didn’t mean anything to them. He didn’t mean anything to anybody."
😢😢😢😢😢
fics where tim gets the short end of the stick just hit so much harder because he's my fav and seeing him suffering!!! tim hasn't even suffered for long here and he's not present to see how unmourned he was but it's just so tragic all the same and heartwrenching!! that the only person genuinely upset by tim's death is the person who killed him.
and you feel for jason, despite the fact that he killed tim who was innocent. you really feel for him because as his state of mind becomes more steady you can see how the regret and horror slowly seeps in. he's being haunted by the horrible guilt and disgusted realization that even if he confessed and told what he did...nothing would happen. part of jason is still that boy, that robin who fought for justice and now here he is, the person who comitted a heinous act that can't be taken back and it's just so horrendous. because he didn't just stop at killing tim, he erased every bit of evidence of what happened to him, he destroyed his body- there is no trace or bit of tim drake left in the world aside from the few words he left behind.
and the absolutely gut-wrenching tragedy of jason falling for tim, of having been probably the only person to care for tim but that care coming too late to save tim.
it's just so sad!!!!! 😢😢😢😢 i'm happy you wrote and shared it but it really is the most angsty thing i think i've read in a while!!!

3 (also feel free to just rank the robins)
3. Who’s your third-favorite Robin? Tell us one thing you like or dislike about them.
Lmaoooo okay. Well! A preface is in order because I know people like to take things too seriously and when I say Damian is my least favorite I know someone somewhere is going to get upset so- I do not DISLIKE any of these characters. I find all of them enjoyable in some ways. There's just characters I like more than others. I don't hate your blorbo.
1) Tim is my favorite. He's confident and very sure of himself but has a more mild disposition and opts to play a mediator role when he isn't busy making the most bonkers too much plan you've ever seen. His comics are the most entertaining to me because he usually gets paired with someone who's doing something ridiculous and his personality tends to let people go "Yes and" right up to the point of being too much. Also he likes sports and I get to draw him in hockey jerseys. He's good support for other characters to bounce off of and I like him for that. What I dislike is that because of his more mild disposition he can very easily be written out of narratives or forgotten about.
2) dick for nearly the exact opposite reason. If dick is in a comic he is almost always the star of the show. The story revolves around him. It's dick and friends. He should get to be meaner. I haven't read much of the current nightwing run but my wife keeps up with it and dick is her favorite. She loves him. I have to rank him high for her. What I dislike about dick is that I NEED him to leave those women alone. Stop dating. Stop it.
2.5 not a robin but Cass goes here I think she's great
3) Jason. I like some of Jason's stuff and I dislike a lot of Jason's stuff. He's weird but also somehow I think he's the most normal one of them. I get frustrated because he has a lot of potential in character arcs but he's written so deeply inconsistently that it's difficult to nail down who Jason todd is and what he wants. (Gotham knights video game Jason is everything to me.)
4) steph. As spoiler and Batgirl she's great I love her but also wow holy shit she got some of the worst writing of any of these people. She constantly gets thrown under the bus and shafted. She's not very enjoyable to read because of that and also some deep inconsistencies in writing quality just simply depending on if the writer respects women or not. And that's not her fault but it does impact reading experience.
5) Damian. I simply don't find tsundere characters enjoyable. I don't like this personality type. Again- i don't hate him. I'm glad he's here he's a fun character. But I don't ever find myself actively looking for Damian centric comics. He's a good sidekick character when he gets to play that role. I hate the way some writers will write Talia because of him. I think it puts Talia in a very bad light and i dislike that she spent so long in the comics trying to distance herself from her upbringing only to turn around and basically just through bad writing do the same thing to Damian. I think it's poorly thought out and written by people who don't like her and don't respect her. (And again! I don't hate him! I've drawn more fanart of him than I have of dick and Jason combined!)

SaL anon here my friend and first off these are for you (🍸🫂) X 1000. Second just wow, I clearly underestimated the depth of KR's pettiness and apparent loathing for the fanbase. I'm not one to say you have to or should cater to the fans wishes, but some things really do seem to be done out of spite since they are clearly not done because its good or even sensible storytelling. Third, it truly takes some kind of "talent" to so completely ruin the messages and storytelling of an entire show so completely in one season (and no, I am not just referring to Buddie, pretty much every character suffered from the great S6 KR retcon), it takes even more to say to yourself "yeah, this is the way it should end". I can say with some assurance that if KR is still around for S7, I won't be.
And no I'm not forgetting Tim in all this, he calls the final shots and distracted or not he still signed off on the undoing of his own storytelling. At this point I think he has a 3 season limit to his abilities, and after that get ready to be disappointed.
All the hugs, wine, and eventual hot chocolate for you bestie. I may be caught up in episodes, but I haven't spent the same amount of time and hope you and many others did on this show, to feel all that promise and watch it slowly start to fade (it was already on its way down by the time I got involved). I truly don't have words for this.
"great S6 KR retcon" please! 🤣🤣🤣 I am literally like...speechless. I was prepared for maybe some Marisol mention but not *that* and I was prepared for the couch to be about Buck making a choice for himself, but Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ even MY pessimistic ass didn't see THAT coming. I am just....WTF was that?! Legitimately, we got Bathena FINALLY getting the honeymoon, we got Henren getting a baby girl, we got Madney planning their wedding, and then Buck and Eddie got shoehorned in with random women just to make sure if the show was going off the air that everyone knew that KR would rather flush seasons of storytelling and character arcs out the window rather than allow anyone to interpret the finale as anything other than Buck and Eddie being straight and ending the show paired up with LITERALLY ANY WOMAN so long as people couldn't draw Buddie conclusions?! Even Buddie aside they knew all season this was coming but they couldn't risk fandom tuning out and not hyping up the show so they would rather tell a poorly done half-assed story rather than show their hand early that they have only ever been using fandom to hype the show up. (Also, was Ravi even in the end montage?! KR taking a parting shot in what would be the series finale to erase him again.)
ANYWAY.
I would like to send YOU a thousand drinks and hugs and a MILLION apologies for dragging you into this show only to watch it go down in flames. From the bottom of my heart, my bad. And I will not hold it against you for dipping out for season 7, and thanks for always being my inbox bestie. We'll find things to talk about and if we're all very lucky, ABC will do the right thing and make some changes. If not, it's been a fun ride with you!
Sorry to everyone else in my inbox, I am going to go read some fluffy Buddie fic while trying to block the last 10 minutes of the episode from my brain and then I'm going to sleep. I am...tired.
So one last time tonight and said with my whole entire chest, ABC FIRE KR.

I finished watching first kill yesterday and [slight spoilers]
Absolutely obsessed with the legacy vampires. I always spilt vampires (and werewolves) into born vs made anyway (with made vamps/wolves being typically more unstable) so that was very good for me personally.
Tim as a legacy vampire, the last of a bloodline thought long dead due to being in hiding. He feeds as little as possible, to avoid detection, but that means he's always a little on the frantic side. He doesn't drain people, usually, but there's been a few accidents where he pushed himself too far. The only "good" thing is that when Tim feeds he tries to go after people he knows hurt others, rationalizes it as a public service even if he still largely feels guilty about it.
Jason as a monster hunter, born and raised in Gotham though he's been out of the city for a long while now. Gotham has known "peace" for at least a decade now after having previously known as the city of monsters not recently there's been a series of supernatural murders and incidents which leads to Jason coming back.
Something something Jason keeps running into Tim on his investigations, the two end up working together to solve the mystery. Jason doesn't know Tim's a legacy at first. Tim's gone on another sprint of not feeding while Jason's around, too afraid of giving himself away when the hunter seems to be around every corner.
This, of course, culminates in Tim accidentally attacking Jason during a fit of blood lust because Jason's maybe developed Feelings (tm) and gets worried with Tim holes himself up in his apartment, insisting Jason leave.
Tim nearly kills Jason, which scares the shit out of him so he runs. But, since he also has developed Feelings (tm) his bite triggers a psychic bond and well good luck getting away when you two are Mind Linked
Jason's upset at first of course he is. His friend turns out to be a monster? And not just any kind of monster, one of the worst kinds. And now he's in Jason's head? He hates it. And starts to wonder if Tim isn't behind this all, just trying to get close to Jason to throw him off.
Tim tries to take something on himself. Probably the big bad, which goes poorly for him. Legacy's are notoriously hard to kill and yet this thing almost manages (probably also on account Tim is constantly starving himself.) Jason barely gets there in time to find Tim half dead from his wounds and Jason has to make a choice.
He scoops Tim up, who's weakly protesting, and offers him his neck.
"The only one who gets to kill you is me."
Both of them know, because they're in each other's heads, exactly what Jason means.
Tim latches on and feeds.

HSMTMTS 3x05 Review
The Real Campers of Shallow Lake was a funny ep that unfortunately showcased some of HSMTMTS’ biggest flaws. Let’s dig in!
The most important reveal tonight was Ricky admitting that he has a crush on Gina which was caught on camera and will no doubt come up again. I’m sure Rina shippers loved this ep and in fairness they did have great chemistry during their duet
Of course, we’re perilously close to an emotional cheating story line as Ricky has for the past several eps been toeing the line of appropriateness in his interactions with Gina, Gina is now using Ricky to get payback at EJ for his keeping secrets, and Ricky’s feelings are becoming so obvious that EJ has already noticed and other characters have started to notice
The Disney plus instagram account posted about the Rina/Portwell love triangle and while there were some comments supporting the ships the most liked comments were complaints about the love triangle being a recycled S1 plot and being unnecessary and poorly done. I think those kind of comments are closer to how the casual audience is reacting to this plot as compared to the more ship dominated discourse in the online fandom
And no one can deny that this is a recycled plot line. Hell even the Ricky and EJ slap scene was an almost beat for beat redo of their passing the basketball scene back in S1. Not to mention the fact that it’s obvious that this love triangle is going to end the exact same way with Ricky stealing EJ’s girlfriend for the second time in less than a year! It’s not surprising that most of the audience wouldn’t enjoy seeing this play out when it’s been done before and there’s no real suspense
At least back in S1 Ricky could somewhat justify his actions in that he had known and loved Nini for a long time and EJ was a pretty bad dude. Now though he has no excuse. He’s known Gina for less than a year, they never dated and were just flirting for a few weeks before Gina had to move, he got back together with Nini, had 5 eps of negative interactions with Gina to start off S2, didn’t talk to Gina during the final 7 eps of S2, broke up with Nini and a couple months later started dating Lily, broke up with Lily in 3x01, and only started his friendship anew with Gina in 3x02 which was less than a week ago in universe, and now here we are. Real the first time as tragedy the second time as farce vibes
When laid out it this story looks like an unplanned mess because it is an unplanned mess. It’s not Tim’s fault that the original couple this show was built around is now irrevocably gone but there’s no excuse for such sloppiness. As I’ve said before if Tim wanted to explore either Rina or Portwell then he should have just picked one and not done the other. If he was so desperate for a love triangle then he could have just introduced a new character for that purpose
I guess the only thing I’m hoping to see come from this debacle is someone, anyone, confronting Ricky and telling him he needs to back off. I doubt it will happen of course since even though Ricky and EJ are both main characters some main characters are more equal than others
I was chatting with a friend about EJ’s future and how they think it’s looking likely that he’ll be written off in S4 and I agree. At best he might appear for a few eps. It’s hard to see him and Gina having scenes after they inevitably break up this season, there’s no realistic way he’d still be friends with Ricky, and they already have a built in escape hatch with his dad’s St. Louis school
It looks like we were bamboozled by the D23 website listing EJ’s name as Eric James when it is unfortunately Elton John. It’s a very lame reveal and shatters what little realism is left in this show. There’s no way a rich white dude like Cash Caswell would wake up one day in Utah in George W Bush’s first term which was so Republican that they gave Bush 71% of the vote in 2004 which was his highest percentage in any state and name his son Elton John
Also it was depressing to see Carlos not knowing Cash’s name since he was one of the few characters actually there for his presentation back in S2. Whether the writers just forgot or didn’t care is for the reader to decide
We finally got the Jet and Maddox sibling reveal. It makes sense that Ricky is so shocked, they really look nothing alike and it’s surprising that the show decided to make them full siblings instead of step siblings. Still they’re an interesting duo and Adrian has the strongest voice of the male cast in my opinion. Very interesting that they’re hinting at homophobia with Jet having outed Maddox to their parents
Nice to see them exploring anxiety with Kourtney, it was part of EJ’s original character pitch before S1 but was dropped likely on Disney’s insistence
The Carlos and Ricky friendship is really quite lovely to see
Ricky and Jet are also nice to see as Ricky slowly chips away at Jet’s walls
That Rina leaker had claimed that a main female character would come out as Bi this ep which obviously didn’t happen. They’re clearly setting up something with Ashlyn and even had Maddox ineptly tell Ashlyn that she has a crush on Val. I hope that Disney doesn’t censor wherever Tim wants to take this story
Ricky’s line about being ready to be hated by America was darkly funny and meta and I wonder how Joshua felt when he first read that line
Looking Ahead:
I hope EJ called Miss Jenn to try and salvage things
Jet being expelled from his school is interesting in that could be a contrived set up to get him to East High but that seems like a stretch to send a kid two states over for high school. And we know that Tim is ruthless when it comes to disposing of characters
I’m glad to see such open rep with Maddox but I can’t help but wonder if they’re only able to go so far with her story as well as introduce heavier family issues and homophobia only because there’s no intention of her being seen again after S3. Perhaps most worryingly is that Seb basically being written off seems to have been the price for the new lgbtq characters in S3. We know he’s back for S4 and it seems that Ashlyn will come out as bisexual by the end of this season so that means S4 will have three lgbtq main characters. Will Disney allow a fourth?
They’re really upping the hints that the kids will get famous as a result of this documentary which is a disastrous idea. It’s odd to know that even as I’m typing these lines here in Meta Manor that the S4 scripts which very well could destroy the series are being written
My last question of the night is what exactly is Tim planning for the rest of the series. I’m sure he has lots of ideas but does he have any good ones left?
Until next week Wildcats

I Love Tim A Lot Which Makes Things Hurt
I care about Tim as a character way more than I should. There is no denying that.
That said, I am legitimately depressed, after having a day that I was mostly feeling good in until I visited the Tim Drake tag. That’s where I found out Tim was going to get a solo. And most people are excited, and again I’m happy for them. But I have no interest in it. That makes me upset.
But now I have to look at my favorite character and realize that I’m going to have to deal with half-assed content that only gets a pass based on something that happened last year, is going to drive me insane.
But this fandom, and his current writer that looks like he’s stuck with for the foreseeable future has just driven all my enthusiasm away. Fans that clearly don’t really care too much bitching. Like saying “They’re making Tim Robin again???” when he’s been Robin for a couple years now, like, oh yes, I truly feel the passion.
And it sucks. I see Tim has a solo, my heart sinks, I see who’s writing it, it’s the person who makes Bernard the least interesting love interests in a long ass time despite the fact she made Tim and him a couple, it’s the person who ignores everything Steph and Tim went through together that made them at odds with one another to pretend everything's all cute, the person who clearly can’t write Young Justice well, that’s his writer.
Then I read the summary, it takes a dig at Damian. Holy shit, fuck.
That’s just asking for people to shit on Tim. Who the hell thought that was a good idea? Everybody’s favorite Robin? I LOVE TIM. HE IS MY FAVORITE ROBIN. But oh my gosh, shut the fuck up, that’s such a shitty thing to write into his summary. That’s asking for people to hate on him.
And then I see the fandom, cheering on bottom of the barrel content, making a big deal out of things that aren’t that great, because they’re just happy to see their characters no matter what.
I don’t hate these people. I am truly happy they’re happy, but it’s overshadowed by my dislike of how this is the situation. Bad content being cheered on. Meaning we’re pretty much stuck with this now.
There’s no part of me that truly wants to sit through reading content that plays dumb to things, and gets stuff blatantly wrong, or honestly causes offense because of how stereotypical and trivial Tim’s gay romance is, despite the fact I do love them as a fictional couple--It’s just that I can’t tell the truth and say that I’m happy Bernard is a stereotypical twink that gets nothing to work with.
I can’t deal with another writer who thinks Tim and Steph are soul mates when it’s been obvious since the start that they’re not. I don’t hate Steph, I just hate their fucking relationship because it’s written so poorly. But now because she usually shows up because writers think she’s something she’s not, I get sick to my stomach seeing a character I used to love because I know it’s going to be written horribly like a possession.
I can’t deal with a writer that didn’t even seem to do basic research into Young Justice to figure them out. Instead coming off like they read some fan fictions or some crap.
And I can’t with a fandom that treats every crumb like it’s gold, or hates on shit that doesn’t need to be hated on, and keep saying stuff that doesn’t mean what they think it does.
It’s such an unhappy environment for me, but I really don’t want to leave Tumblr. I been on this site for so many years. I’ve made a lot of friends, and lost a lot of friends. As much as I don’t like it I still love it. I don’t want to leave.
But I can’t deal with this kind of stuff anymore. And I’m not likely to leave.
So I’m just asking for like, anyone that like, genuinely likes discussing comics and probably won’t want to fight me to like--talk, because I love this character, and his universe. I just hate what it’s become, and I can’t take seeing what it’s became anymore. What I love isn’t around anymore, and having one of my greatest passions become a peace of sorrow is just devastating. It’s a simple piece of fiction, but I’ve dedicated an unhealthy amount of time to it. So it’s really been effecting me.
It’s too much.
