"Alright, Steve. It's all up to you," Dustin said, clapping his hand on his friends shoulder.

Steve already knew that. In fact, he couldn't breath. He felt like he was going to throw up. It was too much pressure.

There was no one else by his side anymore, it was just him. He was alone. He had to save everyone and everything and he was alone.

"Steve," Eddie spoke up. "Relax." Steve kept breathing heavy, looking at him with confusion. "It's just a game, okay?"

Gareth looked at Eddie like he was crazy.

Just a game??? Eddie would never fucking say that.

"Eddie, what the hell, this—"

"Shut up," Eddie snapped. "Steve, it's okay. If something goes wrong, it doesn't matter. It's not important. It's just a game. Everything's gonna be okay after this, no matter what happens, got that?"

Steve's shaky breath slowed down and he nodded.

"Got it," He said. Eddie smiled at him.

Fucking hell. Eddie took D&D seriously. For him to say this shit... well, Gareth knew he had it bad for Steve.

even if i didnt love botw as much as i do, totk drives me nuts bc, similarly to pokemon, this series is so SO SO full of potential, they have so many games they can pull from, theres so many themes, characters and worldbuilding thats just left to rot, you dont need to connect anything with a chain to old titles, you dont need to bring back any things that already had their ending, but PLEASE harness at least a fraction of all this!!!! and they just refuse to do it beyond shallow references

totk jsut drives it all home to me, bc this isnt just the next game in the franchise, but a DIRECT SEQUEL no 10 years apart from botw, yet they cant even, they REFUSE to even keep the continuity with its OWN lore it established in botw together, and that, i think, is what truly makes me so insane (derogatory) about totk

it PROVES they do not care, they dont care to build on anything of the lore of old titles beyond references in form of amiibos or whatever, they dont even care to make a sequel to their most successful game in the franchise coherent with its own lore

botw established a captivating detailed world full of potential, while lacking in active storytelling, it had environmental storytelling, characters and ideas that were the perfect ground to build on-

and then they do away with it bc idk .. they want you to build mechs and make videos of it that go viral and thats all they care about or something

shiekah tech? forget that existed character being the character you know? act as if you are seeing them for the first time just like they are lame story? dont think about that just be distracted by the epic presentation of it lore the previous title established? forget that, all that matters is what is here and now beloved character from old games beign brought back? hes a new guy and has no background and no lore and just sits waiting for you at the end to have a flashy fight with references from old titles and their lore? just here for nostalgie bait, dont you remember? you LOVE this series, now give me 70 bucks for a glorified DLC that ruins what you loved about the series and makes you realize that nothign matters and nothing is interesting anymore

you are supposed to take it all at face value, to not think about anything, to see a character say something and just go with it, and forget it the second its over, be distracted by good music and pretty visuals, but dont think about, dont think about anything but what is directly said to you like you have no critical thinking skills, forget there was a game before this one, only the one you play matters, empty your skull and dont let yourself feel anything but what the game tells you to feel

if they dont even care to make the sequel to their most successful game actually build on the previous title, dont even care to keep their continuity of two games supposedly directly happening one after the other in tact- maybe they never cared, and all the meaning we thought we saw them build into their games was all accidental and meaningless

and that is absolutely soul crushing for fans like me to discover

its a game. its not a story, its not a world, its not themes, its not characters, its not lore. its a product made to make you pay money, not to make you think about anything.

i like people who are like "ugh zenos is so annoying i hate him he's like a git gud video game guy" because like. on the one hand this is a reductive read. and on the other hand there's no crime in being a git gud video game guy in and of itself. i wish i could explain to you the holistic joy of finally embracing the idea of gitting gud.

but also YEAH he's a git gud video game guy. this is a video game. "grr he's wrong i don't like doing ever harder fights and dancing on the precipice of defeat" well okay! you can maybe forgive his mistake since you bought the base game and four expansions to the game where you level up and do dance fights against ever harder bosses! he has to be a git gud video game guy who treats combat like a game in order to properly be a foil to you, because combat literally is a game to you.

Im gonna say it.

The cinematic cutscenes from TOTK sucked.

Theyre mostly just characters upright, idle, giving exposition. I was bored when sonia died because of how lacking in emotion the whole scene was played out, from the hardly-there voice acting to the models robotic movements.

I was bored every time a guardian ancestor passed on the stone, the "imprisoning war" was a footnote of a lackluster 6v1 where everyone just stood there or floated in slow motion in the periphery in a strike pose.

The only cutscenes that had a lot of movement were ganon-centric or reused preset animations for creatures (like the molduga assault or the creation of ganons army)

Its just SO LAZYYY

#and that endgame cutscene where zelda just looks at the camera and speaks for 2 minutes like a fucking dating sim char #at least in BOTW the memory cutscenes had so much LIFE and zelda moved with her emotions in scenes #where did that all go?#TOTK was a good game but not because of the story #totk desperately needs someone to go thru and reanimate every one of those stupid dragon tears #enough of my ranting tho #totk #botw #tloz totk #tloz botw #loz totk #zelda #link #ganondorf #dont look at me #the legend of zelda #tears of the kingdom

I read some of the reviews for Dragon Age Absolution on IMDB and it’s so funny that people seriously give reviews which just say “everyone is gay 2/10.”

Dude, what did you even expect? This is Dragon Age, there are always gay characters, it’s one of the gayest series you can find.

Look at this review, hilarious:

Clearly written by someone who knows nothing about the series. They incorrectly refer to the characters with D&D class descriptions and they call the qunari mage “some kind of giant goat lady”. LOL It’s actually quite funny to read, but... if someone starts watching a tv show that is part of a larger series and then they get angry because it depicts the usual themes and topics of that series, well they have only themselves to blame. Hate gay characters? Maybe be aware if a 13 year old series has gay storylines and don’t act like the most recent entry has an “agenda”. Ridiculous. Homophobes always assume there is an “agenda” so they don’t even bother to check whether or not gay characters are actually new to the series they are watching.
