Am I like, one of three Hannibal fans who doesn’t want a season 4??? Idk, I feel like the ending was really good, left a lot up to the imagination and trying to put anything down on script would spoil that? Also it’s been so many years that if they confirm any one of the many theories, everyone else is gonna be pissed

There are a lot of older fans who do not want another season for very valid reasons. If you know you know, I won't go into it because it triggers the worst of this fandom to become hostile towards anyone who brings it up.

I love the way it ended, I've never seen any show that came back a decade later and actually be good, so I want them to leave it alone. But also, I'd still have to watch it just in case Hugh and Mads finally press their lips together.

For me the main question remains wheter Stolas and Blitz will be together romantically by the end of s2, because I have pretty high (possibly delusional) hopes that they'll at least be on good terms as friends by the end of the season.

Though, it's definitely gonna get worse in Full Moon before it's gonna get any better (Mom, pick me up, I'm scared...)

So, I'm looking at the trailer and hear Stolas say something like this . . .

"This transaction between us . . . i-it's not right anymore. I just want someone to care for."

I'm gonna assume he's talking about the exchange of the grimoire for sex with Blitzo. The deal that HE made in the first place????

Okay, first off- What do you mean, it's not right anymore?? NOT ONCE has it EVER been right! Making someone satisfy your pleasures in exchange for giving them something that's impossible to have and you never intended on giving them in the first place unless it benefits you somehow. That is called EXPLOITATION! Children . . . exploiting someone is NEVER a good thing! No matter how badly you want something to happen, it's never good to make someone do something against their will, and Stolas NEVER considered this! And even if he did, I doubt he would've cared!

Why is he suddenly caring now?

Because this is just another way for Viv to throw another Stolas pity party and she needs some kind of tension between Stolas and Blitzo so that their relationship can feel earned later. I think I have a pretty good feeling on what they're gonna make season two about.

This is gonna turn back into the "Stolitzo show" where we focus on the supposed "romance" between Stolas and Blitzo. How are they gonna go about it? Well, I think what's gonna go down is, instead of Stolas being in the wrong for how he treats Blitzo, they're gonna make the latter the bad guy for how he "treats" Stolas. Because blah blah blah, Blitzo doesn't love Stolas back, blah blah he's not considerate of Stolas's feelings for him, blah blah he's being mean, blah blah, he needs to give Stolas a chance. And at the end of the day, Blitzo is gonna feel all sorry and realize he loves Stolas, he apologizes to Stolas, the two are endgame and they live happily ever after! I'm calling it right now! With the way Stolas said what he said above, he's gonna make it seem like he's trying to reason with Blitzo saying the deal for the book is a bad idea as if HE wasn't the one that called Blitzo that one night and made that deal.

Do Viv or the writers ever THINK before writing these down??

Edit (4/29/24) It makes no sense for Stolas to suddenly feel regret for this exchange as well as his feelings for Blitzo because of it. In season 1 he went from "Oh Blitzy! You're so hot! Let's have sex!" to "I'm actually genuinely in love with you Blitzo. Let's not do this anymore. I want to take this seriously." Out of nowhere.

Like-- In episode 6, he was lustful for Blitzo and made out with him by the end of the ep, and then suddenly the next episode, he's feeling all lonely and is innocently having feelings for Blitzo. WHERE DID ALL THAT COME FROM?? There was no ounce of development within those episodes!

Forget Me Not is such a tender episode. Kurtwood Smith did a phenomenal job portraying how heartbreaking Alzheimers is. And Shawn is so soft hearted. I get part of the reason he’s helping him is because the captain stuck up for him with his father. But you can tell Shawn genuinely cares for him.

Santa Barbara is giving off small town vibes haha this is the second classmate they’ve run into already and i know theres at least 3 more coming.

Im going to be honest, i don’t think Trish Connors was written well. She’s very two dimensional and mostly serves the b plot. Ashley Williams was good though. She has a wholesome quality about her.

This crime is so sad. This guy went looking for his birth parents and ended up murdered. And then his bio-dad finds out it was his own wife who murdered him. How devastating.

I looked it up and felis concolor actually is latin for mountain lion. I thought he made it up haha

You know you’re in season one when you see this street ;)

What was this scene?!?!?! It feels problematic but as I’m neither black, African, or speak Xhosa its not my place to say. Im just gonna say its a fun shawn and gus scene and leave it at that 😬

Happy Audio Drama Sunday!! When I was a non-teacher adult I thought to myself, surely as a child I exaggerated the desperate need for summer break. Now that I am a teacher adult, I can admit that I was. Wrong. I need a break, but luckily I have time for this.

Here's what I listened to this week!

@ourstoriedinsight's season finale was this week and wow. Wow. The way this show so effortlessly dances on ideas of trust, truth, and ethics while telling a story of four (five? Sir George count?) ridiculous and reluctant heroes who have only a dead friend in common is staggering. This episode especially, as you can see how they really drew together against (and then with) Sage. I love them, your honor. And I would also let Rain be my lawyer. Everyone listen to Our Storied Insight.

Jeez louise @camlannpod, can you give a girl a break? I am so glad Gwaine’s okay, and I’m fascinated by the mistrust Peredur has for him, even after they tried to track him over hill and dale. And I am SO worried about what's about to happen next. I wonder what Dai's going to do about it. I wonder if he'll do anything (please, Dai, do something).

This week's episode of Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club had me rolling. Look, I knew the title going in ("It's French for A Horny Party") and I still cackled when the line appeared in the episode. Josie, I hope you continue changing for the better. Also it inspired me to make beans and rice for dinner and that was a wild success.

When Karim Kronfli showed up at the beginning of the season of Among the Stars and Bones, I was excited, but holy heck. The performances in this show. Oh, right, and the twist at the end--you know, I really should have expected things to get a million times worse, based on how last season went, but this is a MILLION times worse. How are they gonna get out of this one folks???

@keepitsteadypod KEEP IT STEADY IS BACK KEEP IT STEADY MY BELOVED. Things are REALLY going places between Zach and Gabe now and neither of them know it. I love high schoolers, they're so dumb. Admit you like each other, dummies. Shoutout to our great good school nurse trying to fight for kids, and I thought the reveal about Zach's past was remarkably done. I love this show.

In relistening news, Life with Althaar again (what's up, @geminicollisionworks!). I rarely relisten to shows, but this one is worth my while every time. Listen to Life with Althaar, a silly space sitcom that gets Not So Silly when the story decides to commit to the bit. Althaar, I would die for you.

Inn Between is truckin right along with 5.9 this week, which I found absolutely delicious to watch the actors bring to life. It’ll be outdone only by the episode next week. In zombie news, boy oh boy, this week we're doing some recording for The Dead that I'm very worried about but ready for the challenge of. It involves directing singers in a language I do not speak! Lol pray for me. If I can make it til school ends, maybe I'll have some other news as well! Keep a weather eye out.

To Bad Batch fans : I see so much theories about what is in the vault since the start of season 3, and everyone having new theory each week, but honestly, I have the same theory since the start, but I don't see anyone saying it so I will, before the end of the serie:

I think that it is the start of the project that will give new bodys to Palpatine so he can be immortal. We saw that project in the Episode 9 (the movie) and even if I don't like those movies at all, I still believe that everything is linked to it. In TBB, they are searching for a way to make a clone that would be sensitive to the Force : who has a great M count. In that case, Omega is the key because she is the only clone with that M count (in canon). Like, the Emperor came himself to see how the project was doing, it must be important to him and as much as I love the clones, I don't think he care about them enough (or at all) to travel all the way to Tantis to see them. And the Empire doesn't want a clone army anymore and has the Inquisitors as soldiers sensitive to the Force, why would they loose time and money in cloning facilities?

In The Mandalorian, the Empire (at least what is left of it) is still searching for a creature sensitive to the Force: Grogu. And the story line looks really similar to The Bad Batch : Dad(s) is / are trying to stop the Empire from taking his/their child because the Empire need them for an experiment.

That would mean that the Empire still can't make a good clone with a great M count but it would be logical, because in Episode 9 (the movie), the body Palpatine is using is not good (he can't see well, he can't walk, etc) and he needs Rey.

It also means that the experiment is gonna fail so it gives us hope for the end of TBB.

I have so many other argument for this theory but I don't really have the time now, depending on what we see in this week episode, I might do a very long version of this, with the arguments and all.

After S4, Soren's character was just reduced to a doofus. There isn't any arc going on for me. He is just there. Do you think that there is an arc for him?

In S4 and S5 we see:

Soren being much happier and outwardly goofier now that he's not trying to get his dad's approval

Soren stepping up to be Ezran's prime defender (4x01, 4x03, 4x09, 5x01-5x04) and good friend *

* While Soren and Ezran are friends, we have every reason to believe Soren is not going to rely on Ezran for emotional support, and there's extra layers here of Soren being Ez's knight / Ez being his true king

Oh no, you mean the character who avoids thinking about how uncomfortable and stressed he really is (s1, s2, s3) is avoiding thinking about how uncomfortable and stressed he really is now that his family's back in the picture (4x07)?

Soren's season long arc of Not Knowing vs Knowing continuing into S4 and S5

Showing anger, love, despair, and resentment towards his family members ("I know you love magic, but I hope you're careful, because it can change people" / "I was worried okay! And I missed you!" / "But it's not too late to change, please, I know you can change!" / "They were a step ahead of us. They're always one step ahead")

Him and Rayla actually having a dynamic / friendship now

"Soren definitely seems like a feelings-y protect-y kind of guy." "Yeah, you're right, that's not really his style." → "I meant with Callum. Look, when you left, you hurt him bad. Real bad. He was miserable."

Him leaping into a fight to defend an innocent dragon whereas before he was decidedly the aggressor

His developing dynamic with Zubeia and taking on more of Ezran's side of things with human-dragon reconciliation

Soren reaffirming his view of his father but also how that's made Soren more knowledgable and compassionate (through Elmer)

Like Soren is coping better bc he naturally fronts with confidence (1x01, 2x02, 2x07, even some of 3x09). I even love the growth we have from "so I picked on you cause I didn't know any better" to "He's cruel, but you don't have to be". Soren has matured in his view of his own actions and of others, even if he still has some room to grow within his own very black-and-white worldview ("It feels good to be one of the good guys this time").

I could talk more about Soren and his arc within s4 and s5 in detail, but I'm not gonna cow to a rule breaking ask so... try again more nicely maybe and we'll see?

something new about aziraphale that i’m getting emotional over on this fine night (no one is shocked): i cannot stop thinking about the first scene of season 2. specifically i cannot stop thinking about the fact that even then, in a moment where both he and crowley even looked younger due to their innocence / lack of doubt or questioning just yet, aziraphale is already doing somersaults to worry for those around him. he doesn’t even KNOW this angel, and the idea that crowley could get in trouble for asking questions shouldn’t occur to him yet, but he’s still so burdened by anxieties and doubts for other peoples’ well-being and conditioned to protect others at his own expense (not to mention eerily close to seeing through Heaven for what it is). aziraphale is so fundamentally good, worrying about other people and caring about them before the very idea that bad things could happen to a fellow angel SHOULD have ever crossed his mind in the first place. and to me that disproves all notions that aziraphale is naive, because he’s been tragically aware since before the Beginning— and before crowley. which makes moments like the post-Job “what does that make me” scene even sadder because by all accounts, if aziraphale was familiar with what it’s like to doubt and worry before the Fall even happened, before he ever should have known what those things were, then he should have been one of the angels to fall, right? Wondering and doubting and worrying about things leads to a Fall, right? Only he didn’t. In a world in which there’s a line dividing doubtless, brainwashed, “happy” angels from doubtful, too-curious-for-their-own-good demons, aziraphale might just be the loneliest being in existence. he’s quite literally the sole person (that we know of) who stayed an angel but is forced to carry a burden that never should have been his, that NOBODY around him in Heaven has to carry. and he can’t ask about it because now he knows for sure where asking questions leads you, but he probably doesn’t understand why he has to carry that burden in the first place. the one he’s been carrying it since before Earth was even created.

had a conversation last week with a 10 year old girl about the s5 finale and i can’t stop thinking about it. she said nathalie is the best because she loves adrien enough to lie to him about his father so that he stays happy. completely convinced that emilie was resurrected at the end and shocked when i suggested otherwise. i’ve been dying to know what the children think happened and it’s so interesting
