A slightly dry dinner in northern Antarctica. Although meals are secondary to snacking throughout the day, they are still social events for the community. In part because of the beak notch, most cultures tend to eat dryer food earlier in the day and then less solid food later on. Friends will tend to gather when they eat, and out of all meals, dinner becomes a significant social occasion resulting from the large number of Directors heading back to sleeping areas/recreation and such after eating and cleaning off. Much of the food is served in what it was made in, though not all of it. Water is regularly dumped out and refilled. This being one of the first groups to arrive since the area was cleaned, there isn't much in the way of spillage, but there will be.
The beak notch:
It was smaller in the past, and its slow expansion has been attributed to the increased necessity of tool use. It's not large enough to prevent adequate food/water intake, but it does mean that some will inevitably spill out. When this actually became a problem for sanitation as larger communities developed, it became common for eating areas to have floor mats dedicated to collecting what drops down that and are then washed afterward, having them on platforms so the food can be dropped down, or a mix of both.
Recycling:
In the past, they've used food waste as biomass for insect farms/compost. It is also now used to help with biotech cultivation.
As a community activity:
Meals contribute quite a bit to daily life since communities tend to eat in the same place as a social activity. Wake up, eat a fairly dry snack with water, and start the day, with meals typically getting less dry and drinks more flavorful as the day goes on. At least one large meal is often had in the evening where most of the community gathers at once and groups interact, share gossip, and otherwise just chill for a bit. After that, most will head to communal bath houses where they'll clean up before dispersing again, either to sleep for the night or begin community nighttime functions.
Bragging to the other collectives about how many dead things they harvested from the biomass pile but then the engineering collective challenges the plant ag collective to a platform duel for fun (king of the hill but the platform is suspended like 50 feet in the air) so like half the group breaks off and the sanitation collective gets angry and starts scolding them because the fuckers just made their job 10 times more difficult by making a mess everywhere because they tried to take their food out of the eating area to watch without making prior arrangements.

MORE MORE KIRBTOBER CATCH-UP
The headcanon for day 7 is that Terrovans (Mags' species) "other soul half" are Doomers! Think the Loftwings from Skyward Sword, or the Dragons and Eliatropes from Wakfu. They have heart and soul bonds and share each others feelings!
Mags' Doomer is the Grand Doomer, and in game it went mad due to Mags himself going mad with the idea of ultimate power. It and the other smaller Doomers (who are his family's soul-pairs) were trying to keep him on Popstar so he can properly rest and process his emotions after his banishment.
Doomers also carry the souls of their Terrovan counterparts when they pass on, flying them to Paradise. Hence them "once having another form" (The Terrovans sort of? "Become" the Doomer)

I've been doing crayon doodles lately since I've been far too busy to draw in my usual style. Though, it gives me a chance to do worldbuilding with little scenes like this.
Rare shot of Bento together with his family. All are unnamed except for the orange hen, Miso.

Genuinely spending 2 hours a day just prepping the fiber, RIP
To be fair at least a third of that time is pushing the executive function button so I can start the next nest. They're unfortunately one of those activities that has enough steps that each one feels like it's own separate thing, so I have to Start Task each damn time. So there's a 5-10 minute cooldown between them.
Tumblr media
Got 9 nests, I think (on top), middle is some fleece that's already had a lot of locks picked out so it's kind of jumbled, bottom is combing waste.
#That's how all fiber prep is for me... I bet if I was actually medicated it'd go faster#but what can you do.#anyway ive done similar things. 2021 tdf i was carding rolags as i went#but those are so much faster !!! like 2 minutes at most and usually closer to 30 seconds for a rolag that takes#around the same amount of time to spin as a nest of top#meanwhile the nests are 10 minutes each IF i have already picked the locks. which ive started doing bc it feels a little faster#and earlier this year i was spending an hour to an hour and a half before work every day combing southdown babydoll for sock yarn#but i was also spinning that up on supported spindles (i spin 3x slower on those than on my wheel) and over the course#of like a 10+ hour shift#so it felt a lot more reasonable#im combing more of this shetland per day than i was the southdown for sure#but yeah it spins up so much faster that its like. whole morning: combing#tiny but nice part of afternoon: actually spinning the top#idk a ton about how ancient people prepared their wool... definitely need to find some info bc it would be fascinating to know#but carding cloth is a pretty recent development in the grand scale of how long humans have kept sheep#so.... yeah i can imagine youd need like 4 kids combing the wool just to keep up with one experienced spinner#or else that one spinner is spending all damn morning prepping wool#its not a great nighttime activity bc if you cant see real well then your prep really suffers#easier to spin in the near dark than prep in the near dark by a long shot#idk ! cool to think about#im rly intruiged by sally pointers video on that blackthorn hand hackle thing (i cant remember the name RIP)#feels like it could comb wool too ? or at least you could try and then make something better when that failed#but a comb of some kind is just gonna be the easiest thing to make if nothing else ...#palm comb#tour de fleece#tour de fleece 2023#wool prep

GUARDIAN OF THE ANCIENT TREE (2021)
This has been an amazing storyline from my imagination.
Playing around and thinking of a story in which Jedi master Luminara Unduli survives and makes some trouble for the Empire.
All pictures were taken from 2020 to 2021 in Mexico City, most of them in Chapultepec Park.
For this shoot, I used natural and artificial lighting and made most of the VFX in photoshop.

Cursed arm hassan, kintoki, and/or Dr. Roman for the character bingo?
Tumblr media
Cursed Arm Hassan-I’ll be honest and admit I forget a lot about him. In HF, I absolutely hated him but at the same time, I couldn’t really hate him. Everyone was fighting for a wish, he wanted a wish, even when Zouken was hacking with admin access the Grail War, Hassan tried to stay focus—but he was a loyal servant to his master. We didn’t get to explore much on him, but I did feel a sense of disturbance between his relationship with Zouken so not completely agreement.
Obviously FGO, expands his character which I actually really loved. His relationship with Arash and the other Hassan’s, his almost knightly demeanor towards King Hassan, it was all great. I feel the fan base just forgets him a lot so yeah, done dirty. Also, I do think he’s a lot deeper than he seems—man just wants his face and name because he doesn’t remember and we can pick that apart layer by layer.
Tumblr media
I keep forgetting to put free space for everyone pfft. Anyways, Kintoki. Honestly, I don’t know much about him 😅. I’ve seen him in events and he appeared in London. He seems cool, reliable and has an amazing fighting style. I definitely feel he needs more then his last-boss ally support appearance that he got.
And he has a biker theme. How can that not be cool.
Tumblr media
Romani--my favorite character from FGO. I definitely love him a lot despite what the bingo makes it look like. As for cool design, I actually wouldn’t describe Romani’s design as ‘cool’ but more...aesthetically pleasing? Romani’s almost pastel palette makes him like a calming and charming type of character.
I know its contradictory to say that he’s deep and not as deep, but I feel if you take his connection to Solomon and Goetia as a whole, he seems rather deep, but if you ignore all of it or exclude it, Romani’s just a regular Doctor. He’s mostly done away with his part as Solomon so just taking him as he is, I don’t think he’s a terribly complex character.
And I do standby that Romani hasn’t done anything wrong in his life. I know Chaldea and Marisbury is rather suspicious but Romani himself joining and giving Mash a somewhat childhood/regular life as best he could, him taking on the Director’s job, he never had to do any of it. After he became human, he technically had no obligation to save humanity. He still went out of his way to do it, and even if Chaldea is sketchy, it was the best possible course for him to save humanity.

Alright, Equatorial nomads (They don’t usually get that far south but it’s the Equatorial Desert regardless.)
These groups have been around in various forms since the Yellowstone eruption around 250,000 PA, when large numbers were pushed south when a global cooling effect took hold. As temperatures warmed back up, these groups in many instances either left, or in the case of these ones often began to follow vultures in order to find sources of water, eventually developing into a symbiotic relationship that lasts into the present day. The vultures get protection from ground predators and higher quality food, Directors get water. The cultures started off in the Americas however have become present in Afroeurasia as well.
The original cultures’ use of gliders largely began in response to widespread heat-related death due to exposure to ground temperatures and general idolization of vultures through stories and observation, who seemed to be able to stay in the air almost indefinitely when compared to Directors. Initially, it was believed that families each would collectively reincarnate into vultures. When they allowed Directors to get close enough, much like with corvids in western afroeurasia, groups of Directors would decorate the vultures with a variety of dyes and such. With time, northern desert populations grew, tools became more complex, and flying techniques developed to keep individuals in the air for longer. This led some groups to wonder about the idea of craft that could help them stay aloft for longer, carry tools, and make it easier and safer to move from place to place.
The first gliders were modeled pretty closely after vultures, essentially being half-dangling, half-gliding knockoff airsleds that individuals would harness to themselves to carry supplies and would regularly go out of control and detach themselves or in some cases bring down the Director as well. Still, techniques improved with time and eventually the idea emerged that much of the issue with the individual sleds resulted from failure to be able to control them directly. Some essentially scaled them up into light surfaces that could (hopefully) be picked up by the wind in the right conditions or after being pulled by Directors, and be controlled afterwards.
These improved with time, eventually developing into craft that could be lifted up with high winds and the right pitch, kept aloft by the desert’s strong updrafts and controlled by the crew directly manipulating flight controls. The most aerodynamic usually carry a maximum of about a dozen adult directors, with gliders traveling in groups from water source to water source, in many cases using vultures that are found along their path as indicators. When they land, depending on the craft and culture they may take off again using their own power, wait for the wind to pick up, or in later periods use propellers and such to get them in the air.
These craft have also helped contribute to perhaps some of their most utilitarian and collectivist cultures, as the craft themselves, tools, etc. are made from the carcasses and bones that they come across, from snakes and coyotes to vultures and Directors in their groups, as there simply isn’t much that’s as simultaneously sturdy and lightweight that far in the desert. As such, in some places the gliders are treated as family members, carrying the collective consciousness of the beings that comprise them. These groups regularly will speak to the gliders, decorate them heavily with paints, dyes, and ornaments, purposefully fly over interesting areas as a means of showing them, etc. If a glider crashes, they will be repaired, and if it can't it is considered a major tragedy among the group, and whatever parts that can be salvaged are. Individuals in some of these groups don’t take names, instead opting to be identified by their role in operating the glider, with each role being held in equal value (hence the varied colors of feather dyes in the drawing, also serve the purpose of helping cool them down). Religions, spirituality, and lack of either are present among these cultures as there is an incredible degree of variation among them from family to family.
It is common for groups that spot one another to merge, following one another to their destination where it is common for a period of celebration (or just general relaxation if it gets long enough) to occur that often lasts until the next time winds are strong enough to pick up the craft by themselves. Groups will exchange food and other gifts, young adults will often engage in courtship, and by the end of it, you typically have some individuals joining one crew or another if things have gone well. These cultures are also known to salvage from crashed airships and abandoned beacons, and to work with both for rescue and recovery. It is not uncommon for stricken airships to be greeted by one group or another to assist in navigation or repairs. It is also common in the present day for beacons to originate in or cease operation and join glider cultures, and many regional Beaconer cultures are heavily influenced by glider cultures.
