An interlude ( If it makes you happy) Ava gets a comm from another familiar face...he immediately frowns at the sight of the other Chiss
“Why are you contacting me?” Ava glares at the video comm.
“To congratulate you on the progression of your relationship with young Danica. It appears your tactics are rusty but the outcome was a success.”
The older Chiss tells him, as always Ava loathes the sight of Thrawn, now more so with his comments.’
“Tactics? Outcomes? This was not some mission or objective.” Ava grits his teeth.
Thrawn raises a brow ever so slightly, “ Not by the book but consider it. You did not tell Danica of your affections as a result she married. However her husbands extended absence has allowed for a rift, and you the ever receptive and caring friend were there. Now you are finally where you wanted to be.”
Not like this...he doesn’t want it like this...pretending these days in the apartment. Knowing that Danica was still married and he stayed along as her lover.
“Or perhaps not?”
Ava narrows his eyes, “ Don’t...”
“Perhaps you wish for more than what you have been given. You want a different circumstance...you have gotten this far. “ Thrawn explains it as if it were mere plans. “I suggest you use her circumstance...”
“She loves me...she loves me for me not just because she is lonely.”
“ And she has for years but you two are blind. Use your strategies. Use what you can, you won’t have another chance.”
“Don’t comm me.” Ava grunts
“You are welcome, young Ava...and congrats once more...”

You Don't Know/Own Me At All
* * * * *
THIS TOOK ME ALMOST A WHOLE YEAR TO COMPLETE. NEXT MONTH WOULD'VE BEEN ITS ANNIVERSARY!
By that I mean I start working on it, close the program, leave it to collect dust in my WIP folder, rinse and repeat.
Being in my new room really kicked the dust off this piece (and that part of my mental state) and encouraged me to finish it.
The way I titled this piece is because of the two versions of the same song by Son Lux. Every time I listen to it, I think about the Squad fighting for freedom.
