Note
"Faaather." Travis, whining
"What?" Kenneth, tired of Travis whining
"I want a challenge." Travis
"Yeah, let me just call down an angel for you to fight." Kenneth, sarcastically, before turning around to be face-to-titty with a (male)angel.
I very much love this being like the tiktok sound of that guy squealing in surprise.
Kenneth, who never expected angels to hear him, let alone be real, is now afraid. Not because his son is going to fight an Angel. But because the Angel casually guided Travis into fighting Kenneth. He has no powers and no respect/fear from his child.
Of course the Angel knew that and wanted to watch Kenneth get dragged around like he deserved. Despite their complacency the heavens are very adamant to keep out abusers. There is no room nor opportunity for someone like Kenneth in their home.
I can also picture the Angel shows Travis a more appealing humanoid form while Kenneth only sees this terrifying creature with copious amounts of eyes and rotating gold bands. Travis thinks the humanoid version is boringC pulls the Angel down by their face (very gentle bby boy) and politely asks them to show their real form. He doesn’t care about appearances for friends now that he can have some.
And that’s how Travis has ended up with a new Angel friend that likes to linger around in a very handsome human male form. Sal and Larry absolutely despise this new guy clinging to Travis. Acting brand new to everything.
Larry has to be held back and silenced whenever the guy looks at Travis for help and Travis offers HIS drink! While he opens the new bottle!! Or they share meals because apparently utensils are strange to him! Who was this poser!? Get away from their Travis!!
Sal tries to wedge himself between the two. Only to get sympathetic looks from the new guy and confused glances from Travis. He doesn’t usually act so needy but this is unfair. Some handsome stranger comes in and steals Travis’ attention from him! He finally has the chance to be friends and now there’s another person to take up Travis’ time (Philip is first and foremost always to Travis. And vice versa.).
Red is a little jealous of the new spirit around his host. However he is much more relaxed after Travis showed blatant favoritism by holding him and demanding the new guy apologize for upsetting him. The fat cat purred as the Angel begrudgingly apologized for his transgressions to the demon.

Featuring : Ace, Luffy and Sabo
Gender neutral
✦ Out of the three brothers, Ace, is the most open to public displays of affection. He wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't shy away from expressing his love openly, whether it's through a warm hug, a kiss, or a playful gesture that showcases his affection.
✦ PDA for Ace is a natural extension of his vibrant and outgoing nature. He enjoys sharing his emotions with the world, taking pride in the love he feels for his you. His displays of affection are genuine and reflect the intensity of his feelings.
✦ Ace's love language often includes spontaneous acts of romance, such as surprise embraces or impromptu kisses. He believes that expressing affection in public is a way of celebrating the joy and love he experiences in his relationship, and he sees no reason to hide it.
✦ While Ace is comfortable with public displays of affection, he also values the quieter, more intimate moments with you. These moments allow him to deepen your connection away from the hustle and bustle of the pirate live.
✦ Ace's love is infectious and impossible to ignore. His willingness to share his affection openly is a reflection of his authenticity and the importance he places on being true to himself and his emotions.
Tumblr media
✦ (Personally) I don’t think Luffy is one for elaborate displays of affection in public. PDA is not really his thing; he's more focused on enjoying the present moment and doesn't feel the need to put his romantic feelings on display for others.
✦ While Luffy may not engage in traditional public displays of affection, he expresses his love through actions rather than words. Whether it's sharing a piece of meat, inviting his s/o on a new adventure, or offering a cheerful smile, Luffy's love manifests in simple yet genuine ways.
✦ Affection for Luffy is a natural and an unpretentious aspect of his relationships. He just doesn't feel the need to complicate it with grand gestures, and his openness to sharing these moments is a testament to the sincerity of his emotions.
✦ Luffy's private moments with you are where he truly shines. Whether it's a quiet conversation on the Going Merry/Sunny or a shared laugh over a meal, he values the more personal aspects of his relationship away from the prying eyes of the world.
✦ Luffy's love is anchored in friendship, trust, and shared adventures. While he might not be one to make a big show of his affection in public, the depth of his feelings becomes evident in the bonds he forms with those closest to him.
Tumblr media
✦ Sabo leans heavily towards being a private person when it comes to matters of romance. He values the intimacy of a relationship and prefers to keep displays of affection between himself and you away from prying eyes.
✦ PDA is just not Sabo's style; he'd rather express his feelings through meaningful actions and gestures in private. Whether it's a quiet moment shared on the deck of one of the RA ships or a stolen glance during a dangerous mission, Sabo finds more significance in the subtleties that only he and his partner can fully appreciate (and understand).
✦ But Sabo does occasionally allow for subtle expressions of affection in public, such as a gentle touch or a discreet peck on the cheek. These small gestures are more about reinforcing the connection between him and you rather than seeking external validation.
✦ Sabo's private nature extends beyond physical displays of affection; he keeps the intricacies of his relationship shielded from the prying eyes of the world (after all he is seen has one of the most dangerous criminals of the world). He values the sanctity of his personal life and is careful not to expose vulnerabilities that could be exploited by enemies.
✦ In the quiet moments away from the chaos of the Grand Line, Sabo becomes a more open and tender partner. He may not shout his love from the rooftops, but he expresses it in the small, heartfelt actions that define his feelings for his s/o.

;R1999 PAVIA - Love Languages (giving)
Tumblr media
Headcanons and analysis on Pavia's love languages and the way he likes to show affection.
Tumblr media
yeah ok ive been playing reverse 1999 what about it <3
it might be a little too early to write anything for it, given the lack of in-depth content, the awful translation and all, but who cares lol
Tumblr media
Pavia as a whole - his speech pattern, the way he presents himself, his appearance, line of work, relationships, etc - can easily be described as brash and straightforward. That direct sincerity and lack of restraint is part of what makes him dangerous. One can always count on Pavia to do and say whatever he wants, whenever he feels like it, regardless of time and situation.
When it comes to showing affection, no one thinks Pavia is capable (let alone willing) of forming lasting or meaningful friendships with anyone other than his pack of wolves. They all expect the same direct and selfish behaviour from Pavia in romantic endeavors, and he delivers wonderfully.
If someone manages to catch his eye, then he'll pursue them and make his intentions very clear - romance is optional and reserved for more "difficult" targets, but he's not the type to put in the effort. All of this inevitably leads to heartbreak and a long line of partners, each and every one fully convinced on being "the one" that would steer Pavia back onto the right track, into a more honest life.
Of course, this just applies to all those fleeting flings and whims, the superficial relationships everyone around him takes at face value to justify their hatred and disapproval of him.
Unless you're part of the pack, it's near impossible to know how Pavia acts around those he truly cares for because of his solitary lifestyle, to the point where those people might not even realize that Pavia cares about them and is actively trying to be nice. His love languages are unorthodox - as well as hidden under a few layers of nonchalance and casualness, I'd even argue that Pavia himself struggles to wrap his head around the concept of caring for someone other than himself - but with enough patience and attention to detail, they'll get easier to spot! Once you understand Pavia and his MO, it all just clicks into place.
Giving: Quality Time, Gifts
[Quality Time]
In this case, the term is used very loosely, as it doesn't exactly match the usual definition - there's no uninterrupted outings nor intimate one-on-one conversations, just an intense presence orbiting around as you go about your day.
This is what Pavia considers "quality time": inserting himself into the lives of those he cares about, entirely unannounced, to follow them until he's had enough or drag them around to do whatever he feels like doing if their routine is much too boring for his taste. The confidence he displays when disrupting people's lives paints him as a jerk with little to no care for their business - after all, how can it be quality time if you can't go buy groceries in peace because Pavia keeps trying to sneak weird shit into your cart and expecting you to pay? It's all pretty on brand for him, to use his presence as an obstacle and annoyance, the same way others have used it in the past as punishment.
But this is Pavia we're talking about. He prefers solitude, he doesn't care for company and he's turned loneliness into both a weapon and a shield.
It's always been very clear to him that no one wants to stick around, so for Pavia to offer his company in this manner is not unlike a stray dog testing the waters, seeing if it's safe enough to come out of hiding. He's gauging your reaction to his antics, his existence as a whole, under the pretense of bothering you because "he feels like it". It's kind of a privilege (and a miracle) to have Pavia seek you out without a bounty for your head! Consider yourself lucky.
But to address the two most common outcomes of this love language - if Pavia takes the lead and drags you around, it means you'll be involved in the most random fucking shenanigans.
Sometimes, he just lets you hang out with him, and you know you're dear to him if he allows the pack to play and relax around you. Sometimes, you're witness to his mercenary work and other shady jobs, willingly or not (he'll call you a coward if you don't want to bury a body with him). Sometimes, he takes you shopping only to dare you to get a five finger discount with him because he sure as hell isn't paying for all this shit. Sometimes, you see him argue for fun with people he doesn't even know. Sometimes, he shows you the hidden gems of his city and then leaves to see how you find your way back.
On one hand, it's a test - to see how you'll do should he choose to stick around for longer than what's acceptable for someone like him. On the other, he wants you to be part of his world, not only small glimpses of it - it's all or nothing. So it's only fair that he shows you the type of shit that you'll be getting into if you allow him to stay. Or rather, to welcome him when he comes and goes as he pleases.
On those scarce days when he prefers to follow you around, he's mostly driven by curiosity. Pavia rejects every conventional notion of leading a "normal" life, to be part of all those blubbering idiots and their made up rules, but he's still curious about how it all works. Do you really just wake up early to get prepared and then go to a job you don't even like? For like, a third of the day? Then you go home? And then you pass out for eight or more hours? Why the fuck would you even do that? Quit your job, what's the point. Live a life of reckless abandon.
He pokes fun at everything that he doesn't like, teases and bullies nonstop (one would have to be delusional to think Pavia's attitude softens around his loved ones, in fact, it gets worse), gets in the way and makes everything harder for you - but then you realize...
No one else has given you any sort of trouble, if else they've been nicer. There's been a sale everywhere you've gone to buy whatever you need, maybe you've been given a surprising discount. If you bump into someone, they apologize profusely. If you make any sort of mistake, it's forgiven immediately. There's always a seat for you no matter where you go, and the world seems to bend at your will for a split second.
You can thank him for that, by the way. Others would kill to have such scary dog privileges. And if things don't go the way he expects them to, that's fine too! He's ready to throw hands at the drop of a hat!
This one is pretty easy and straightforward! Pavia likes to give things to his loved ones, as long as he doesn't have to pay much for them and as long as they don't ask anything from his personal collection or belongings (he's very territorial). Easy! Oh, and if you ask him directly for something, chances are he'll end up not getting you absolutely fucking nothing - but he'll praise you for trying anyway!
He's a hoarder, so he assumes that others also want lots of interesting and pretty trinkets to spruce up the house. His collection is more of a statement, and one could argue that him wanting to hoard is a direct consequence of the way he was brought up.
Somewhat unrelated, but I do like the specific headcanon about how Pavia is very easy to scam based on various lines in-game, like his glasses being a cheap copy of an actual italian brand and how most of his accessories are described as just garbage with no real value. Either that or he simply doesn't care enough about really owning any expensive brands, but likes to brag anyway.
No matter the reasoning behind it, giving gifts is an important part of Pavia's love languages.
However, he never aims to get you something that you've been eyeing for a while or something that could be useful - it's usually things that remind him of you, for better and for worse. Or really, anything he gets his hands on.
Pavia might show up one day with the ugliest little creature on a keychain, saying that it looks like you. And then, some other day he might show up with some matching earrings he made from scrap metal. If he's feeling particularly nice, he treats you to gelato, his favorite, or he'll have a bunch of fancy clothes or jewelry. Some of the gifts are questionable, and their origins even more so knowing the way Pavia operates and all, but it's up to you to ask him where he keeps getting all these things. It's pretty easy to tell, especially when the clothes are definitely not your size and the jewelry is all pure gold, with small blood stains. You'll have to forgive him, the guy is messy!
If you ever choose to throw away his gifts, Pavia won't hold it against you - it's your shit now, he couldn't care less what you do with it. Sometimes, you think he's simply using you as extra storage or as his personal trash bin.
You'll only see him visibly angry if you lose or throw away something that he specifically made for you. Those are the only gifts that really mean something to him, that should mean something to you! Pavia expects you to wear those little earrings, bracelets or whatever he ends up making - none of his wolves wear collars, so this is the closest thing you'll have to being officially accepted into the pack.

Hush, child, the darkness will rise from the deep And carry you down into sleep, Child, the darkness will rise from the deep And carry you down into sleep. (Loyalty loyalty loyalty loyalty Loyalty loyalty loyalty only to me.) -- Mordred's Lullaby
Personal preferred interpretation of *gestures to everything* under the cut! Warning for blatant and shameless conflation of multiple versions of the text with pure, self-indulgent headcanons.
I've gone back and forth on this a lot, but I think I've finally settled on preferring Eol to be both a Dark Elf (i.e. never went to Aman) and a "darkened elf" (i.e. former thrall of Angband/corrupted by Melkor). I know Tolkien changed his mind on both of these later, but I don't find it repetitive at all to have Maeglin also suffer the same fate; I think the cycle is meaningful and adds another layer of complexity to these characters. Also, it would give Eol's "ill at ease" within Melian's girdle and seeking to stay away additional meaning, making it a physical consequence of his circumstances and not only a predilection of his personality. Idk, the more layers and reasons something has behind it, the more enjoyment I draw from it :)
I do like Eol being Sindar and Thingol's kin, but also more alike in spirit and behavior to the Avari than anything else. Witch of the Wilds aesthetic, and more in tune with nature and the land than the Sindar in Doriath. He and Maeglin have always given me a Morgana and Mordred vibe. (fun fact: the mirror is supposed to be obsidian, which is used for scrying.)
He truly loved his son, and his relationship with Maeglin was no more and no less positive/negative than your average father-son relationship -- some minor disagreements as any parent and child are bound to have -- until Maeglin started expressing a desire to see the Noldor; and it was all downhill from there. He still loved his son, however, despite everything, and his attempt to choose death over Gondolin for him was done out of love as well. Perhaps not a healthy love, but a genuine one all the same.
Eol being a darkened elf + Maeglin being born in Beleriand + the "Melkor ingredient" present in all matter outside of the Blessed Realm = a compounded (x3) tendency towards Melkor within Maeglin's spirit that was there since he was conceived. If everyone who has a body that is nourished by Arda (outside of Aman) has an inclination towards Melkor that they can't be free of in their incarnate forms, how much stronger might that be if one of your parents is a former thrall who -- going off of his behavior and tendencies -- still bears the marks of that bond? I like to think that the way Melkor affects his thralls can carry down genetically, even for elves that remain elves and weren't turned into orcs.
I personally prefer Maeglin to not be under an enchantment as a way to explain why he betrayed Gondolin -- I like him being responsible for his own actions! Even if he also never had a chance and was doomed from before he was born. I like the interplay of those two concepts and generally don't find them mutually exclusive -- but I do love the idea of compulsion. Of his pre-existing link to Melkor through Eol and through Arda being used (I prefer this to be Mairon's work, but it certainly can be done by Melkor instead) to sway him. Like, not Mairon actually spelling him and making him not be in control of his body or not being able to warn people in Gondolin because his speech is bound, etc., but like. Mairon slipping certain elements into the fabric of his voice -- he is Ainur; underscoring his speech with Music is no big deal -- to manipulate that Melkor ingredient within Maeglin and make him be more receptive. Compliant. Add to that some carefully crafted understanding as one talented smith who knows what it is like to feel ill-suited to his surroundings to another, a little bribery, and, of course, the ever-present and very real threat of torture -- in delicately balanced respective quantities -- and done.
This is totally entirely self-indulgent headcanon territory here, especially since Mairon is never actually present for Maeglin's imprisonment in any version of the text (to my knowledge) BUT: I like to think that, just as with Maedhros in my headcanons, Mairon formed a kind of reluctant attachment to Maeglin. But whereas with Maedhros it was more of an equal footing type of thing, a grudging acknowledgement of a worthy opponent being cut from the same cloth, with Maeglin it's more of a foster situation. Like: "Here is this very valuable prisoner who we can work with, who -- with a only a small amount of effort -- is amenable to working together and he's the son of a former thrall so there's already a connection there and, oh, he's also a smith? Oh, he's actually pretty good. Wait, he's only 189 years old, idk because I've never cared much for elves but isn't that ridiculously young wtf, he's clearly ambitious and reeling for approval and acknowledgement and will easily take to a guiding hand. Well, there's no one else around but me, I guess I'll take one for the team and the war effort and all that" *accidentally transfers all the instructing instincts he possesses that had previously gone to his wolves now all long dead, he doesn't keep wolves anymore since losing Tol-in-Guarhoth, it's too painful to this strange elf* Again, not healthy, but complicated and messy and invested.
... I did not mean to make it all about Mairon again lmao I am so sorry XD
I'm sure I'll have additional thoughts as I keep re-reading the Silmarillion, or my opinions/preferences may somewhat alter (I still have to sit down and read HoME and Nature of Middle Earth properly, I've only read snippets), but. an overwhelming number of you voted that you enjoyed reading stuff like this so. There you go. This is where I'm currently at lol.

Class Feature Friday: Amulet Implement (Pathfinder Second Edition Thaumaturge Implement)
Tumblr media
(art by Angelina Andreas on Artstation)
A sort of fusion of the concepts of the 1st edition Occultist class and the Inquisitor, the Thaumaturge class is all about learning every bit of lore about the supernatural as possible, regardless of it’s veracity, in hopes that something will work. What’s more, much like the occultist of yore, their own psychic power empowers the tools and trinkets they utilize, either giving truth to the folklore surrounding them, or pushing them beyond even that.
A key part of the thaumaturge class is their choice of implements, which come in a myriad of forms, but cover some core concepts. The thaumaturge can gain up to three classifications of implements, but naturally their first gains all the associated abilities, while the second and third never achieve full mastery.
In any case, our first subject today is the amulet. Whether this is an actual occult symbol of protection worn around the neck, a more mundane necklace, or some symbol of luck or protection such as a rabbit’s foot, amulets as a general rule represent protection and good luck, warding away misfortune from the wearer. In occult symbolism in the Pathfinder setting, they are associated with the Harrow suit of Shields, the cosmic caravan sign of the Bridge, and the Tian zodiac sign of the Ogre.
True to their nature as wards of protection, the thaumaturge can invoke the amulet to ward themselves or others nearby against the violence of the target of their focus, and with a reflexive action, they can dampen the incoming damage of an attack.
Later on, the amulet provides lingering protection after the initial surge, warding them from further similar attacks.
By presenting the amulet to the foe they are focusing on exploiting the vulnerabilities of, they can also improve their own protections so that attacks are harder to land on them for a brief moment.
Thaumaturges that choose the amulet as their primary implement can even ward entire groups, protecting them from even area effect attacks, if need be, and providing them with lingering protection even if the initial warding would have blocked all damage.
Additionally, the following feats suit the thaumaturge quite well: Root to Life, Esoteric Warden, Turn Away Misfortune, Shared Warding, Esoteric Reflexes, and Seven-Part Link. Others may be useful as well depending on your build.
With the focus on reducing and warding against damage, this implement is a major boon for any thaumaturge that is concerned with keeping themselves and others alive in addition to defeating the monsters in the night. Even if it’s not your first implement, it can prove quite useful for keeping allies in the fight.
While this is true of almost every implement, amulets are often jewelry, and jewelry often has a lot of emotional history attached to them. Does the amulet truly belong to the thaumaturge? Who owned it originally? What sort of emotions are tied to it? These questions are quite useful to answer from a lore and backstory perspective, not just for amulets, but any implement, really.
The Moon Sliver is a well-known silver amulet fitted with moonstones and what is supposedly a tear of the moon itself, and has a long history of being used by those who face werewolves and other lycanthropes. Curiously, however, the amulet always seems to find itself in human hands across it’s long history, almost as if it prefers bearers of that ancestry. Finding out exactly why means digging into the forgotten lore of the amulet’s origins.
Wearing the wedding rings of her mother and father, a janni and a mortal respectively, Shavi can feel their love wherever she goes, and her belief in that love protects her as she wanders the land, seeking rumor of divs, ghuls, and other monstrous beings to destroy.
In the hands of a charlatain like the original owner, a tangled necklace of holy symbols subverts the very idea of protection one associates with such things… but even if he was a liar and apostate preying upon the desperate, the faith of those he robbed was very real, making it very valuable to those versed in the occult.

Gillian’s Queer Media Example: Comic Books
Comic books have often been dismissed or overlooked when it comes to queerness. But the comic from its very beginning has “been linked to queerness or broader questions of sexuality and gender identity in US society” (Scott and Fawaz, 2018). The American comics industry as they are known today was created by Jewish Americans who were originally denied jobs at regular publishing industries, so they started their industry. Some of these creators were Stan Lee (Writer and co-creator of Spider-Man, The Avenger, The X-Men, and The Fantastic Four), Jack Kirby (Artist, writer, and co-creator of Captain America, The Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man), Jerry Siegel (co-creator of Superman), And Bob Kane (co-creator of Batman). Therefore, both Superman and Captain America were heavily inspired by Jewish mythology with Superman being inspired by the story of Moses and Captain America being inspired by the story of the Golem. This influence is also why most superheroes' backstories are formed from family loss and death because it was the trauma a lot of these men were most familiar with.
So, it's no surprise that comic books would continue to tell the stories of marginalized people. “This has made the medium especially effective as a space for the depiction of an array of fantastical characters, worlds, and social interactions (among humans, mutants, aliens, cyborgs, and other “inhuman” figurations). The fantasy aspects of the medium have historically lent themselves to the depiction of a vast array of nonnormative expressions of gender and sexuality—from the most metaphoric (in hyperbolic camp visuality or the metamorphosing of human bodies into forms that call into question traditional gender norms, etc.) to the most literal (the actual depiction of queer bodies and erotic attachments)” (Scott and Fawaz, 2018). Marvel had the first openly gay superhero, NorthStar (Jean-Paul Beaubier) of Alpha Flight and the X-Men. And in 2011 when New York passed the Marriage Equality Act of 2011, Marvel celebrated this with NorthStar marrying his partner, Kyle.
Tumblr media
The first transgender superhero was in DC’s Doom Patrol with Coagula.
Tumblr media
Doom Patrol also has the characters of Negative Man (Larry Trainor) and Danny the Street. Negative Man is a gay superhero in Doom Patrol. Danny the Street is an Allie of the Doom Patrol a sentient living teleporting genderqueer street who uses they/them pronouns. Danny provides a sanctuary for anyone that society ostracized and seeks to hurt.

One of the most revolutionary comic book series was DC and Vertigo comics The Sandman written by Neil Gaiman (who would go on to write American Gods, Coraline, and co-write Good Omens). Since its debut in 1989, The Sandman resonated with the LGBTQ+ community and has become a cult classic. It was one of the only comics at the time with reparation in a mainstream medium when prejudice against the community was at an all-time high. When asked about this Gaiman stated, “I had gay friends and I had trans friends. I wanted to see them represented in the comics that I was writing, and it felt to me like if I wrote comics and left them out, then I wouldn’t be representing my world or the world that I was in, or the world I was perceiving accurately, bravely, or truly. And that’s the point of art. So, for me, it was just a given.” The Sandman’s main character Dream of the Endless and his sibling's Destiny, Death, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium are notable in this context of queerness because while they all have preferred forms, they can present themselves however they choose and people they meet often preserve them in many different forms that vary in gender and race. Desire is most notable amongst the seven siblings in that they are genderqueer. They can present as either masculine, feminine, or something more in between. There is also the character of Wanda. Wanda is a transgender woman who is friends with Barbie. Wanda tragically died in a natural disaster and Barbie has a dream about Wanda looking perfect and beautiful. Wanda notices Barbie and waves goodbye to her as she leaves with Death. Later Barbie visits Wanda’s grave and sees that Wanda’s family put her dead name on the grave. Barbie rectifies this by crossing out the deadname and writing Wanda’s real name with her favorite shade of lipstick because it is the least, she can do as a friend.
Tumblr media
Sandman later faced controversy when it released ‘Death Talks About Life’ in 1994. This was a PSA story to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and teach safe sex practices the PSA was released in Hellblazer #62, The Sandman #46, and Shade the Changing Man #32, and later as free pamphlets. This PSA almost got a few comic shops shut down and was banned in a few other shops. The story was of Death of the Endless as she advises on how to live longer, what are STDs, what are HIV/AIDs, how to use a condom with help from John Constantine, as well as dispelling myths about AIDS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sandman was not the only comic book to tackle the subject of HIV/AIDS. X-Men handled it in the form of the Legacy Virus. The Legacy Virus was created to target, infect, and kill mutants. But it did not just kill mutants since it targeted the x-gene which can be in non-mutants it started killing non-mutants as well. The X-Men in general has served as a long-time allegory for queerness for many years. They are a group of humans who present extraordinary abilities around puberty but can be present since birth (like gender and sexuality) and are often outcast by society that sees them as inhuman, something to exterminate, or something to cure. Mutants find safe havens at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters where they can be themselves. The X-Men were also known for their diverse characters such as “Storm, a Kenyan-born immigrant to the United States, the first black woman superhero in a mainstream comic book, and the X-Men’s team leader by the 1990s” (Scott and Fawaz, 2018). It’s also noteworthy that a lot of early queer representation came from mutant characters. As mentioned before NorthStar the first openly gay superhero is a mutant. Mystique (Raven Darkholme) and Destiny (Iren Adler) have been long partners and they even raised one of the most famous X-Men together, Rogue.
Tumblr media
Iceman (Bobby Drake) was also revealed as gay and was likely overcompensating because of his bigoted parents. Wanda Maximoff’s (Scarlet Witch) twin boys, Bobby (Wiccan) and Tommy are both queer. Tommy is bi with a boyfriend and Bobby is gay and got married to Teddy (Hulkling)
Tumblr media
Also, the infamous love triangle of Cyclops (Scout Summer), Jean Grey, and Wolverine (Logan) have become a much healthier polyamorous relationship.
Tumblr media
I could go on about many more queer characters and stories in comic books, but it is probably best if I stop it here. There are so many more characters and stories that I could talk about so just remember comic books are queerer than you think.

Ok there's something I'm really confused by: Who the hell is Toland?
I keep seeing people mention him but I never see what he looks like? And also I just finished Shadowkeep & am playing around in the Dreaming City for bounties and his name keeps coming up?
I hear a disembodied voice in random places in the Ascendant Challenges? Is that him?
Is he like a ghost-spirit or some kinda like energy wave thing like Polaris from Control?
People seem to either like him or really hate him but that's so weird to be that polarizing for someone who doesn't even seen to in game?
Was he from Destiny 1?
This is Toland the Shattered:
Tumblr media
The disembodied voice you hear in Ascendant Challenges in the Dreaming City are coming from this orb, which is what remains of Toland. He also appears on the Moon in the same form and you can start patrols with him. He was prominent in Destiny 1 as we received many messages from him and about him, but he is also heavily present in Destiny 2, especially in Shadowkeep.
Toland was a member of the First Crota Fireteam with Eris Morn, Eriana-3, Sai Mota, Omar Agah and Vell Tarlowe who led an assault on Crota before us. They failed and Eris was the only survivor, if we discount Toland's disembodied state.
He was asked to join the First Crota Fireteam specifically because he was an expert in researching the Hive and Hive magic, with a particular interest in the Hive deathsong practices (he was exiled from the City for this). He also had detailed information on how to kill a Hive god like Crota. He essentially only joined the fireteam in order to further study the deathsong and didn't appear to have much interesting in killing Crota, especially not in the same way the rest of the fireteam did.
After sharing his knowledge to help Eris and the others, he pretty much departed from the fireteam and went to seek out Ir Yut, a Hive wizard and a deathsinger. He attempted to make further studies, but she obliterated him with the deathsong which destroyed his body, but left his essence free to move around and interact. His preferred place to wander around in is the Ascendant Plane.
He's an interesting character with complicated relationships with his fireteam and especially Eris. Eris stated multiple times that his knowledge not only helped them learn a lot about the Hive and Crota, but also that his journal helped her survive the Hellmouth.
People mostly dislike him for how he wasn't truly invested in killing Crota and for his general praise of the Hive and the Darkness. For example, after we defeated Oryx, he was incredibly upset about us not following the sword logic and taking up the mantle of the Taken King, as he believes we should've done as ones that proved superior strength over Oryx:
You fools! You disastrous, bumbling squanderers! It's not right! Who now shall be First Navigator, Lord of Shapes, harrowed god, Taken King? Not you! You might have been Kings and Queens of the Deep! But you have toppled Oryx and you have not replaced him!
He speaks in this demeaning way often, and thinks of everyone but him to be lesser, uneducated and simply believing the Traveler's dogma:
LISTEN! LISTEN! Understand, you simpleton, it’s entirely obvious —
And:
Are you following this? Would it help if I etched a few notes on the margins? I didn’t shuck my mortal form and smuggle this nightmare arcana back to the waking world for the benefit of that masked hypocrite’s drooling loyal orthodox.
The "masked hypocrite" would be the Speaker. There are more instances of this, he's like this every time he speaks, even in his patrols on the Moon.
He also destroyed his own Ghost and advised us to do the same:
I destroyed my Ghost, when I was like you. You should consider doing the same. Little good it does you.
Disturbingly enough, his Ghost (Guren) was not particularly bothered by this and fully supported Toland:
He will redefine death, escape the Traveler's blunt samsara. He will sound the depths of the powers you so myopically fear. My only regret is that I will not live to see his triumph.
He made Bad Juju and helped Eris make Deathbringer. The quest for Deathbringer is a part of Shadowkeep campaign.

Reasons why therapy might not be working...
If you already mask: anxiety is not the issue, and you know your way around social situations quite well already. You already know how to look amicable, hence you already know how to signal that way (regardless if it’s truthful or not).
If it requires mindfulness and meditation: being inside of your own head is anxiety-inducing. The silence is unbearable and you’re unable to relax. It’s when loneliness takes hold of you more easily and intensely.
If it requires “loved ones”, “friends” or “people you care about”: what happens if you have no such people in your life? Having peers and acquaintances is completely different as those are not people you’re close with in the first place. There’s a big distinction and the whole issue is because you don’t have such required people.
When it doesn’t take into consideration that “social connectedness” can mean different things for different people: some are satisfied and highly prefer to stay away from others, and it doesn’t cause them distress; some are satisfied with being able to talk to people regularly; some are happy that they’re able to talk to others at all (social anxiety); some feel like they need to form closer bonds to be able to truly connect, but that’s one of the hardest things to achieve, taking everything into consideration.
If it requires novelty: you seek novelty and the uncertain quite a lot already, the problem is maintenance. You do the “first step” to exhaustion already. If it’s novelty about anything in life, that’s already probably something you seek because you need constant distractions anyway. If it’s novelty about people, you are limited in the things you can do, the people you can reach out to and any new social things you can try.
If it requires you to “be a little silly”: the issues are more external than internal and have more to do with how you navigate the world avoiding triggers, and less about living under rigid self-imposed rules. You are childish and silly enough, so much that it impairs how you function socially, because you’re unable to fit with peers, due to peculiar interests, among other things.
When it doesn’t take into consideration things such as age, financial status, sex and gender, etc: the issue with connecting with others is that it requires you and someone else. It all depending on what stage of life you are, if you’re poor and/or queer, etc... This all dictates how these interactions will happen, how successful they can be, and how they’re likely or not to be continuous, and not conditional.
It requires to look back at “past successes” and yet you must “live in today”: if you were successful in a way that was meaningful to you, you wouldn’t be isolated and lonely. All you know is that relationships (of any kind) have an expiry date and it’s only a matter of time, either people will walk away, or you will because you didn’t have your needs met, and instead was struggling with loneliness and resentment. You are able to thrive in the present because you avoid everything and everyone. There’s very little you can do about other people - which you have no control over - so there’s no point in ruminating over it. You do what you can, and if you can’t, then you don’t.
It requires you to be present, to stop avoiding, etc: “stop having the problem you’re having.”
In the end it all comes down to, again, being grateful to one’s own achievements, being able to let go of the ones who wronged you, being able to communicate clearly and “honestly”, etc, which leads to... selflessness, which is also a problem.
You need to choose between a rock and a hard place.
It’s your behaviour that needs fixing, your thoughts that are wrongful, your patterns that are maladaptive, your coping skills that are harmful, and so on...
You are the problem that needs fixing, and you are the solution too (apparently).
You need to be able to fit in those boxes where others are, but you can’t, even though you’re spending so much (of everything) in treatment.

I was at church this morning and for a minute I idly wondered what it would be like if they started doing their best to be vocally Inclusive on issues that pertain to me specifically abd my immediate instinct was, I would try to find some trad congregation where they would not pull this. And the more inclusive and up to date their phraseology were, the more sketched out it would leave me. Isn’t that like… fucking insane?? That I would seek out ppl who specifically hate me?? Who the fuck does that?
Ig the cheap answer here is “I’m a glutton for punishment” but that’s not right. Bc I would most of all prefer institutions just never bring this issues up ever. And the less cheap but still obvious possibility is that I just hate the ordeal of being known. Which is a little true. But I think I still would prefer occasional bouts of vocal anti-me bigotry from the pulpit to any ~inclusiveness~ which is still insane. If I have to choose between ordeals wouldn’t “we accept you” be preferable to “fuck you”?
It’s not the about-me-ness either. It’s the issues that affect me and are big progressive culture war talking points. Either on its own does not suffice. On big culture war talking points that don’t immediately affect me I prefer hearing from the left-coded side ceteris paribus. (Palestinian liberation is the most straightforward example. And anti-imperialism generally.) And if they sided on shit that I have a vested interest in on “my side” I ofc would feel warmly about it as long as it was not part of some big mainstream cultural platform
The best answer I can think of is that I hate and fear hypocrisy about caring for me more than I hate outright disdain for me. And I really, truly, deeply hate that hypocrisy. It makes me so much angrier than the rightwing bigotry it’s paired against ever does. Or… “hypocrisy” is not quite right. It’s not just that they say one thing and do another. It’s that they promise themselves as a safe haven of love and freedom only to turn on you and explain that their version of the hatred they profess to cast out doesn’t count bc Reasons. It’s not some break between founding thought and action but some fear the badness of the action is quietly present in the foundation itself
All of this applies on a level of institutions rather than individuals. It would be otherwise if I were talking about personal friends rather than impersonal social Bodies
I’ve been feeling so angry/dejected these last few weeks. Solstice helped tone it down a lot but it is so intense lately. Idk why, pride mb. And it has a direction orthogonal to all the rages upon which ppl form community and solidarity. Sad facts!

[ + ] WITCH OF TIME [ + ]
Tumblr media
The Witch of Time can easily be labelled as one of the more terrifying Heroes - both to face and to be, though their power can easily be twisted to aid whatever moral stance they choose to take due to the Witch’s Manipulative ease. They are defined, on a basic level, as one who manipulates and controls the flow of time (whether this be directly or through others/sequences of events taking place) for the gain of themselves and others. Although it’s more than easy for the Witch or the Time player alike to become power-hungry or unaware of themselves at the mercy of these forces, they are often the ones who present the turning point of a battle as clearly as if it was never hidden to their team at all. They’re sure of themselves and their directions in life from the get-go, and it’s often because they feel a certain duty of care towards those in their further community.
The Witch is one who will always seem to know more than those around them at any given time, so it’s lucky that they’re more than willing to share that wisdom if others should seek it out. They need assistance themselves in keeping track of the overwhelming amount of information they’re naturally in charge of, but it’s this force that makes them good at what they do - go to a Witch of Time and they’ll help you get yourself sorted, provided they have their own priorities in line first. They prefer being busy and occupied with tasks than letting the weight of responsibilities truly bear down on them, and doing their best to assist others is often the quickest way to get that rush of gratification they need to continue until they tire themselves out. Even though the work they do is hard and more than just physically taxing, many that hold this classpect would rather that than admitting defeat.
Speaking of admitting defeat, the Witch of Time flourishes in the battlefields of Skaia and the realm of SBURB in its entirety. They’ve had all the time in the world, in a literal and figurative sense, to figure out what exactly their role is and how to best fulfil it. Though they aren’t granted the omniscience that comes alongside being a Space hero, they make do and push themselves to their limit to do whatever makes the game progress in a hopefully linear fashion. That being said, they aren’t newcomers in the realm of self-sacrifice, and like any other may ave trouble coming to terms with mortality in the form of, say, God Tier and its ascent, though it promises the opposite eventually. Having things go out of their realm of control is perhaps the hardest thing for the Witch of Time to come to terms with, but it’s being forced to adapt to that unpleasant change that makes them stronger in the long run.
Working alongside others is a harder thing to do for someone as headstrong as the Witch, but they appreciate the company of Sylphs and Knights for covering the grounds when they’re not able to stretch themselves far enough. Similarly, Light and Breath players can be more help than hindrance. Rather than viewing the Space hero as an antithesis, the Witch of Time is likely to see them as a complimentary force that’s just as important in the future of the world as they themselves turn out to be. They’ll clash with those harder to pin down, though, such as Void players or Bards and Princes because of their possible paranoia surrounding the limits of a session they’re in. They don’t do this out of malice, but the other Heroes are just another volatile set of offshoots and possibilities they feel the need to keep track of, and they can get easily overwhelmed whether or not it’s intentional if they team up with the wrong people.

Ran here as soon as I saw that bllk knight post cuz pls I have been thinking about this concept for soooooo long AKSJSISLOAA
Especially with Aiku 🥺👉👈 LOL Knight Aiku who comes from an unknown family and works his way up to captain and is assigned as your personal guard...and you're not exactly excited to have him as your personal guard cuz while you know that he is an extremely talented knight, you all hear all those rumors from the maids and staff...but then idk maybe he helps you sneak out of the palace one night to visit the town or protects you and before you know it, you're also falling for the charming knight AKSNOSMALSNKS
Pls I would love to hear your thought on the bllk knights (only if you want to ofc!)!!! 💖💖
!!!!! yes!!!!
Aiku who's a young upstart, charismatic and a truly impressive brawler; wears the armor well. Your family employs a fair number of knights and he rose in the ranks quickly. But he has a certain reputation, one exacerbated by the giggling whispers of scullery maids, and it's difficult to ignore the way he looks at the noblewomen who pass by him—you are no exception, despite how high above his station you are.
So you're less than enthused when he's assigned to you. But he surprises you with his professionalism, his dedication to his oath. Once he swears himself to you there’s surprisingly little funny business—and he’s good at his job, as good as everyone says.
You come to view him as a companion, closer than his predecessors (he lasts longer than those before him, too, despite your own reputation for an inability to be satisfied). He plays his part as a loyal guard dog well.
It’s an assassination attempt that truly does you in. Aiku accompanies you on a visit to another lord’s manor; while there, a man dressed in black attempts to come in through your bedroom window at night. You aren’t sleeping, kept up into the late hours signing documents and writing letters in your study, but the absolute racket Aiku’s armor makes while apprehending the poor fool before he even has a foot through the window catches your attention.
You find him having pinned the man to the ground, a frown on his face—something you haven’t seen before, so used to the swagger and charm he typically exudes. He glances up at you, and the expression hardens.
In the aftermath he refuses to leave your side, even as you’re transferred to a different set of chambers for the remainder of your stay. He guarded the door before but now he insists upon staying in the room, an act which you might once have refused but now gives you a security you wish you didn’t desire.
When you return home something shifts, though you refuse to think about it too hard.
The maids’ gossip turns to bitter complaints, pouting that his attentions never stray towards them any more, and you push down a juvenile form of smugness. Your ladies mention that he no longer seeks them out to flash them that charming grin; you’ve never preferred his smiles or superficial flirting, personally. The looks he gives you are far more subtle—his eyes soften when they fall on you, and they never stray unless pulled by force.
And while you remain stubbornly ignorant to your developing feelings, Aiku isn’t a fool. He doesn’t act on anything, entirely, but he teases; chooses his words carefully, double-edged like his sword with eyes glinting affectionately. He gets a little closer than should be decent, lingers on the rare moments he’s allowed to touch you, hovers more than he used to. There’s a shift in the way he says my liege—on the my part in particular—that almost has you starry-eyed like some naïve youth when he says it.
You endure months of it before it finally hits you. The culprit is a tourney held for a cousin’s wedding. He competes in your name, naturally; you watch from your box with your ladies-in-waiting as each knight is announced and presents himself on horseback, eloquently refusing to join in on their hushed chattering over all the other big, strong competitors.
But then Aiku emerges, and he makes a beeline for you—and you know what he wants, without a doubt he desires a token of good luck from his patron (from a beautiful admirer, he’d told you playfully weeks before) but somehow it’s all far too real looking down at him in his pristine armor with that rugged face and those striking mismatched eyes…
You run.
You leave, rather; knowing that if you did so quickly it would only invite gossip, you slip away silently, relying on the bodies of your companions to hide your disappearance. You don’t even know which one ends up giving him a token, you simply decide you need to get away.
Hours later he finds you holed up in your private study. You allow him to come closer than ever before, watch as he kneels with legs brushing the bottom of your chair to stare up at you. He reaches for your wrist to bring your hand up to his mouth and kiss the bare knuckles, murmuring against them that he won in your honor.
You pick up a ribbon from your desk, the one that had been in your own hair until you’d arrived in your panic earlier, and tie it around his wrist.
Next time, you decide, you’ll give it to him before the event.

Kayori Bio
Name: Kayori
Species: Dzlethian
Race: Yellowscale
Role: An Assistant-rank member of Winterkill Works, who works directly under Cindarosa. A bizarre and disturbing medical case of an Anryuu stuck partway between human and dragon forms, he’s been Cindarosa’s object of study (as well as one of her longer-lasting “children”) for years.
Affiliation: Winterkill Works
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Height: 5’8
Appearance: Kayori is underfed enough that he’s much thinner than he should be, though his build does show broad shoulders and some inherent strength. His hair is brown, shoulder-length, and shaggily overgrown, and his eyes are hazel. His wings and claws are permanently present, his horns are upright-pointing, and his body is covered with large patches of scales.
Personality: Kayori is a defeated, hopeless person. He’s spent so long as an object of study (while no cure for his condition has even begun to emerge) that he’s lost hope of ever being able to live in any other way. After years of no personal autonomy and being treated like a freakish attraction only good for research, his sense of self has severely deteriorated. However, he doesn’t resent his situation. In a lot of ways, Kayori is grateful that he’s at least been cared for by Cindarosa and those who came before her. He knows that it would be pointless to despise his life when there’s nothing he can do to change it, so he accepts what comes to him without complaint. Fairly deadpan in personality, he’s generally passive and non-confrontational.
Positive Traits: Kayori, by necessity, knows how to accept an unfortunate situation without complaint. Despite all of the awful things he’s been through, he’s never built up hatred or resentment toward the world and remains more passive than pessimistic. He’s easy enough to get along with (mostly because he doesn’t care to argue with anyone), cooperative, and quite laid-back. His mental and physical resilience are both exceptional; he has an excellent pain tolerance, and very few things can truly upset him.
Negative Traits: Kayori’s defeatist attitude isn’t doing him any good. While he sees it as simply accepting what he can’t change, the reality is that he’s also giving up on any personal ability to have some scrap of control in his life. A consistent lack of autonomy has destroyed his self-confidence and faith in his abilities, leading him to believe that he’s a helpless person whose only purpose is to be studied. He can be snarky and rude to people, especially when he feels looked down on or treated like he’s disgusting.
History: Kayori’s life started out uneventfully. However, at some point during his childhood, his shapeshifting went very, very wrong, and he was unable to fully change back to his human form. After that, with no idea what else could be done, he was placed under study in an attempt to find some cure for his unique ailment. After multiple attempts at that goal failed, Cindarosa caught word of his situation and took a personal interest— he was transferred into her care soon after, and that’s where he’s since stayed.
Relationships: Kayori doesn’t have any relationships outside of his connections to Cindarosa and her other “children”. He’s been kept in various facilities for most of his life, without a chance to get to know anyone but the various researchers studying him. While he thinks he’s content with his fairly solitary, isolated existence, the reality is that he’s quite lonely. However, he lacks any concept of how normal socialization works, at this point.
Interests: Kayori hasn’t had a chance to develop preferences for much. He takes what he’s given without complaint, and doesn’t seek out personal interests on his own. While he’s sometimes allowed to help Cindarosa with her duties, he’s most often kept confined to her laboratory area.
WW Role: As an Assistant-rank member of Winterkill Works, Kayori’s job is to assist a chosen Super Executive however they may require it. He serves under Cindarosa in name, although he’s more of an object of personal study than a proper assistant. One of his most common assignments is keeping an eye on Kitana, who requires near-constant supervision, in some form.
Miscellaneous: Kayori’s half-shifted state is a massive strain on his body and has left him weakened, malnourished, and in near-constant chronic pain as a result. While he doesn’t outright admit it, he’s given up hope on ever being cured. He’s the Dzlethian equivalent of transgender, and realized that identity a couple of years after his shapeshifting incident. He hasn’t seen his family since the first group of doctors took him away; at this point, he doesn’t expect to ever be in contact with them again. While he mostly feels sympathy for Kitana, he hates Cindarosa more than anything.
Connotative Description: A medical anomaly who’s spent most of his life being studied for his unique biology. Defeated and passive, he’s someone who lets his life happen without trying to change anything for himself.

RELATIONSHIPS  — TALK ABOUT THE MUSE.
Tumblr media
NAME: Morganaux de Roulemet / Morganaux de Dzemael ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: Gay, polyamorous PREFERRED PET NAMES: He would rather not have any used on him. Excluding situations where he’s in Ishgard and having to be on his “best” behavior, he goes almost exclusively by the nickname “Morgy,” unless he trusts someone to call him by his full first name. However, he will allow pet names that are given to him, so long as there’s significance behind it. RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Entirely verse-dependent, and unless discussed otherwise, he’s single. FAVOURITE CANON SHIP: (i don’t know why the font got larger here but i don’t know or care enough about formatting try to fix it lmao) There’s no canon, official WoL ships, so none. Unless you count his non-RP “canon” written exactly to my own tastes, and in that case, it’d be Morgy/Emet/Hyth/Eli. FAVOURITE NON-CANON SHIP: See above. OPINION ON TRUE LOVE: It absolutely exists and he will do anything for the sake of true love, viewing it as a force of good in the world that can warm even the coldest of hearts. This sounds pure and wholesome, but it’s not healthy at all for him (or those around him, for that matter), and him learning a more realistic form of love is one of my favorite character arcs to explore for him! OPINIONS ON LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT: It’s not something he truly believes in deep down in his heart, but he wants to believe in it and will say he does! HOW ROMANTIC ARE THEY?: On a scale of 1 to 10, a thousand. Once he’s convinced he’s found the right person, he’s going to put his all into the relationship. IDEAL PHYSICAL TRAITS: Long hair, taller than him IDEAL PERSONALITY TRAITS: Wants to do good in the world (even if it doesn’t line up with his own vision of good. it’s the intent that matters!), ambitious, critical thinker, open-minded. He’d really like to be with someone intellectually stimulating who helps him in his quest for knowledge and gets him to question the world around him. UNATTRACTIVE PHYSICAL TRAITS: He can’t stand people who don’t even try to present themselves nicely, especially when it comes to hygiene. He will tell someone to their face if they need a bath and he isn’t sorry at all about it. Too much muscle is also a turn-off for him for the most part, with few exceptions. UNATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS: Close-mindedness, excessive piety, lack of ambition, having no interest in being a life-long learner. IDEAL DATE: Exploring an unfamiliar locale, especially if it’s somewhere they’re not supposed to be. Dancing in an empty ballroom would also be ideal! DO THEY HAVE A TYPE?: Morally grey (or completely immoral) mages. He doesn’t purposefully seek out the villainous type and is very much aware that it’s a problem, but he gravitates toward them anyway. AVERAGE RELATIONSHIP LENGTH: Verse-dependent. By default, he hasn’t been in any relationships due to him being a very repressed Ishgardian with little free time on his hands. PREFERRED NON-SEXUAL INTIMACY: Simply being in the presence of his partner(s), even if they aren’t speaking or doing the same thing, being content in the knowledge that they’re happy together.  COMMITMENT LEVEL: Completely and utterly devoted to a fault. (In a self-destructive, prone to corruption kind of way, not in a way that disrespects any boundaries!) OPINION OF PUBLIC AFFECTION: He’d prefer not to, but wouldn’t shut it down completely if it’d make his partner(s) happy, so long as it remains in moderation. He isn’t shy about his affections, but simply values his privacy and hates the idea of his relationships being the subject of gossip, which is pretty much inevitable as a WoL and a High House noble. PAST RELATIONSHIPS?: By default, none. He was, however, deeply in love with his best friend Noudenet, but the two of them never actually told each other how they felt before the whole Thordan situation happened.

Luxurious Illumination: Explore Luxury Living Room Chandeliers
In the realm of interior design, few elements elevate a living space quite like a luxurious chandelier. These exquisite fixtures not only provide illumination but also serve as statement pieces, adding sophistication and glamour to any room they adorn. Among the various spaces in a home, the living room stands out as a focal point for entertaining guests and relaxing with loved ones, making it the perfect canvas for showcasing a stunning chandelier. Let's delve into the world of luxury living room chandeliers and explore some captivating options that can transform your space into a haven of opulence and style.
Tumblr media
1. Crystal Elegance:
No discussion about luxury chandeliers is complete without mentioning the timeless allure of crystal. Crystal chandeliers exude elegance and grandeur, casting a mesmerizing display of light and shadow across the room. Opt for designs featuring intricate crystal patterns and cascading tiers for a dramatic effect that instantly captivates the eye. Whether suspended above a grand dining table or in the center of a spacious living area, a crystal chandelier lends an air of sophistication to any setting.
2. Modern Masterpieces:
For those with a penchant for contemporary design, modern chandeliers offer a refreshing take on luxury lighting. Sleek lines, minimalist silhouettes, and innovative materials characterize these avant-garde fixtures, making them the perfect choice for a chic and cosmopolitan living room. Look for designs that incorporate elements such as polished metal, geometric shapes, or artistic LED installations for a modern twist on traditional chandelier aesthetics.
3. Vintage Charm:
Infuse your living room with nostalgic allure by opting for a vintage-inspired chandelier. These timeless fixtures evoke the glamour of bygone eras, adding a sense of history and character to your space. From ornate brass and bronze designs reminiscent of the Victorian era to the streamlined elegance of Art Deco-inspired pieces, vintage chandeliers offer a unique opportunity to blend the past with the present, creating a truly enchanting ambiance.
4. Nature-Inspired Beauty:
Bring the beauty of the natural world indoors with a nature-inspired chandelier that celebrates organic forms and textures. Branch-like arms adorned with delicate leaves, floral motifs crafted from hand-blown glass, or even designs featuring reclaimed driftwood—all these elements can infuse your living room with a sense of rustic luxury and earthy charm. Nature-inspired chandeliers not only illuminate your space but also serve as works of art that evoke a connection to the outdoors.
5. Custom Creations:
For those seeking the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity, custom-designed chandeliers offer limitless possibilities for personal expression. Work with skilled artisans and designers to bring your vision to life, whether it's a bespoke crystal masterpiece, a one-of-a-kind sculpture crafted from rare materials, or a contemporary interpretation of classic design principles. A custom chandelier allows you to tailor every aspect of the fixture to suit your taste, ensuring that it becomes the crowning jewel of your living room.
In conclusion, luxury living room chandeliers are more than just sources of light; they are symbols of style, sophistication, and refinement. Whether you prefer the timeless elegance of crystal, the avant-garde allure of modern design, the nostalgic charm of vintage aesthetics, the organic beauty of nature-inspired motifs, or the exclusivity of custom craftsmanship, there's a chandelier to suit every taste and elevate every living space. So go ahead, indulge in the allure of luxurious illumination, let your living room shine with the radiance of a stunning chandelier, and bask in the emotional lights it casts.

8, 9, and 10 for shrike? :>
Thank you for the ask! These were really fun to answer so the responses got a little long!
8. Being the head of a temple comes with lots of tedious work, did they truly manage all of it or did they try to outsource the best they could?
Shrike finds it difficult to learn anything that isn't directly tied to their interest in fighting (and gratuitous violence). Their knowledge on medicine, weaponry, armour, military strategy both historical and cutting-edge is unparalleled. However, filing taxes, collecting tithes, and renewing temple licenses is not something they would find easy to wrap their head around. Their rise to leadership was due to their bloodline and their sheer force of personality: when they talk albeit rarely, people stop to listen. They would delegate as much of the tedious paperwork and statuatory duties to Sceleritas, or any other willing volunteer. For anything that requires their specific input, they'd seek out the assistance of a certain Banite that has an excellent working knowledge of the city's regulations and infrastructure.
Shrike prefers to spend their time training their clergy, imparting their wealth of knowledge to their otherwise amateur blood-thirsty assassins. They would enforce a strict discipline to their work, making the temple the most ruthlessly efficient it has been for generations. Paperwork should be left for more delicate hands than theirs.
9. The Feast of the Moon is a Bhaalian ritual where priests told the stories of particularly interesting or unique kills. Was one of your Durge's deeds ever discussed, or perhaps even turned into a beloved and often retold story?
Whilst Shrike was a paladin of vengeance, they had no shortage of notable kills intended to signal the impending threat as they closed in on their adoptive father. Their status as a paladin gave them some leeway for their overt violence and they relished mangling their victim's bodies in such a way to strike terror into any potential wrongdoer that dared to associate with their criminal gang. They weren't artistic with their presentation, like Orin sought to be, rather they allowed the senselessness and extremity of the murder speak for itself. Their reign of terror across the sword coast as the 'Blood-Soaked Knight' became an often recounted story by many of their followers, although much of its noble origins were lost in the retelling. They have a paladin's pride in their actions, and would proudly tell their tale to any and all who ask to hear it.
Their kills as a Bhaal leader and Oathbreaker are no less subtle, although lack the purposefulness and artistry of their former assassinations. They do not hide their murderous intent behind shadows or illusion, instead they don their plate armour and stalk their victim; like the spectre of death itself, their victim knows Shrike is coming for them and there is no way to hide or escape. They are feared not because their victim does not know if they will be attacked; they are feared because their victim knows that their death is inevitable. Their victims hardly get a chance to fight back as Shrike's strength and divine smite cut them down with ease. It is a duty they carry out diligently and reverently, doing all they can to maintain their father's divine favour. Shrike believes in the inherent value of life, which is why they understand the significance of taking a life in their father's name. They see Orin's playfulness as an affront to Bhaal's doctrine, causing the rift to form between them. Yet, it is still Shrike's kills that are discussed more often than Orin's extravagant masterpieces.
10. Speaking of, Day's farewell was another ritual everyone of the clergy had to attend as evening dawned over Faerûn. But was it really everyone that came to the gathering, or did a particular Bhaalist sneak out at times or outright refuse attendance? Did they maybe even appear early, eagerly awaiting another service?
Due to their military background, Shrike appreciates the value of routine and rituals to maintain order and discipline. Nobody understands the importance of keeping a small army of assassins in line more than Shrike. Attendance to Day's Farewell was mandatory and they enforced it strictly. One particularly wayward bhaalist repeatedly refused to attend, choosing instead to act on his own whims rather than following Shrike's express orders, so they made an example of him during one of these rituals. The display was so horrific, even for a clergy of hardened assassins, that even the mere mention of that sacrificed bhaalist's name was enough to scare the congregation into attending Day's Farewell every single night.
