I just found maybe the best lining up of events ever and perhaps even proof the Bulb is real:
I was rewatching the third episode of ACOC (as one does) where we have our first real interactions with Commander Grissini and at one point he says aloud the name Payment Day. For those not in the know, in Calorem it is believed that if one speaks the name of a weapon they are doomed to be slain by it. This is why all the Taste Buds' weapons have both a name and a title (e.g. Payment Day and The King's Sword, Flickerish and The Twizzling blade, Sour Scratch and The Puckering Bow, &c.), so that one might refer to a weapon without saying its name. I was immediately scandalised, of course. Doesn't Grissini know better? And to the king's face too! But then suddenly I had a thought. Could it be that the universe had lined up perfectly? That it found a way to bring the rules and magic of Calorem into our world to bring about the most beautiful of coincidences? That once again Brennan proved himself king of (accidental) foreshadowing? I race to investigate and lo and behold, in episode 17 "For Candia (part 2)", Commander Grissini is killed by King Amethar with The King's Sword, Payment Day.
All hail the Bulb

Taking a break from doodles and lore for some @aurasisle appreciation art of her OC Laura. Been a long time since I saw her OC couple art of Carol and Nicole and thought "This hits different. I need more!" Recently, I feel like I hit an art goal high enough to make fan art and made something that's been a long time coming. You're a real one, fam ^^

RTP, please rec me taiwanese bls 👐 Thanks a lot!!
Anon,
I do not recommend shows.
I like shows for trashy reasons, and I'm trash for Taiwanese BLs, so I like every single one of them.
HIStory 4: Close to You is my all-time favorite BL. This show is heaven to me and no other show has done better than it. I thought Thailand's Dead Friend Forever would beat it, but there is no way I could rewatch Dead Friend Forever the way I rewatch HIStory 4: Close to You. This show owns me.
So since HIStory 4: Close to You is my heaven, you don't want a recommendation from me. Someone did ask what my top five Taiwanese BLs were, and I shared them:
However the list has changed a bit because more shows have aired.
Bonus:
Anti Reset
Stay by My Side
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble (a favorite but not a BL)
Red Balloon
DNA Says Love You
See You After Quarantine?
About Youth
Plus & Minus
Top 5: (excluding HIStory 4: Close to You)
HIStory 3: Trapped
My Tooth, Your Love
We Best Love
Be Loved in House: I Do
Kiseki: Dear to Me
Seriously, I love ALL Taiwanese BLs and can make a case for even those not included on my list. I love Taiwanese queer films (Light, The Wedding Banquet, Dear Tenant, Your Name Engraved Herein, Who'll Stop the Rain) even when it's sad which is a huge deal for me since I only like happy endings *wink*, and I'm more inclined to watch Taiwanese media in general regardless of the queer plot because I think they blend realism and fiction well.
But I do not recommend watching any of these because I like them for completely different reasons than you might. However, I do recommend watching Taiwanese BLs because they have something for everyone's taste.
And they are delicious.

The Marauders, young lords in 1800s England, take on society and join the London season for the first time. Fresh out of university, James Potter is hoping to find a wife. When he hears gossip about the young ladies who will be out in society, he's certain that he will fall in love with the belle of the ball, Miss Lily Evans. But that is not what happens. Before he can even begin to court any of the young ladies he meets Regulus Black, and he never looks back.
Or, the Jegulus Regency AU that no one asked for.
If you're the type of person who would review Pride & Prejudice as 1 star and say "It's just a bunch of people going to each other's houses" then you will HATE this.

*deep breaths* I’ve been really nervous about posting this, but I’m super proud of it and I love it so much. I’m going to be posting twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, but the prologue is up a tonight for fun!
