One of my favorite tropes is 'tough murdery and dangerous guy being a sweetheart to kids' and Deadpool fits it really well (even if he doesn't present himself as 'scary tough dude' all the time, he can definitely be one in a heartbeat, if the situation calls it)
So, please let me introduce you to

My Morph primer
Since X-Men 97 is drawing in a lot of new fans with varied levels of experience with the original animated series or the comics, I figured I could give a write-up of who Morph is, where they come from, and why you don’t see them in any of the movies or other media.  This is also an excuse for me to write about an obsessive fave, seriously, they are all over my blog. I'm not necessarily an "authority," but I've watched TAS and read the comics, which are the basis for this write-up.
Who is Morph?
Tumblr media
"Wolverine! Fall back!"
Morph is a shapeshifting mutant who was added to the X-Men team in the original X-Men: The Animated Series as a redshirt/sacrificial lamb, to be killed off For Real in order to show that the stakes are really high.  Originally it was actually going to be Thunderbird, a short-lived X-Man who died in the comics just a few issues after he was introduced, and has remained dead for decades.  But creators realized that killing off the only Native American character on a mostly white team was a bad look, and went with Morph instead.  Morph proved surprisingly popular with (mostly child) viewers, and was brought back in the 2nd season as a result.  Morph in TAS was originally presented as male using male pronouns, but I’m gonna use they/them for the character since they are nonbinary in X-Men 97.
(Btw, even Morph's TAS costume shows their redshirt nature, as they are basically wearing a variant of the standard X-Men uniform that different groups have worn, with the Original Five (Angel, Jean, Cyclops, Beast and Iceman) and the New Mutants all wearing something similar. There was a time in the 90's when all the X-Men were wearing this uniform to try to give them a team look, but thankfully that didn't last, the individualized looks are much better. Morph's amazing disappearing reappearing jacket are the only personalized touch in their uniform, and I hope X-Men 97 gives them a costume upgrade after everyone gets used to the new look.)
Morph doesn’t appear in many episodes of TAS, but here are the definitive ones:
Season 1:
Night of the Sentinels Parts 1 and 2: Morph seems to be an established part of the team, a wise-cracking shapeshifter who is so naively overconfident about their mission that they’ve practically got a target painted on their back.  When the mission goes wrong, Morph pushes Wolverine out of the way of Sentinel lasers, and gets blasted all to hell.  Morph’s supposed death (which was meant at the time to be a real death) is sensed by both Jean and Xavier.  Cyclops orders a retreat because the team is getting their asses kicked, abandoning both the (dead) Morph and (alive but injured) Beast, who spends the rest of the season in jail.  Morph is quickly forgotten as a character, BUT the impact of their death is felt throughout the season.  We get Wolverine yelling “This one’s for you, Morph!” while slicing up a Sentinel, and Cyclops in the finale insisting, “I’m not leaving anyone behind!  Not this time!”
Season 2:
Till Death Do Us Part, Parts 1 and 2: Morph returns as a villain, but a sympathetic, brainwashed villain under the control of season Big Bad Mr. Sinister.  Sinister is an evil scientist who likes to fuck around with mutant genetics and is especially obsessed with getting Scott and Jean to fuck, because their child will supposedly be an extremely genetically superior mutant.  After Morph’s “death,” they were taken by Sinister, who revived them and implanted a control device into Morph’s brain that he uses to literally torture Morph into compliance.  Morph seems to have a kind of split personality, which Sinister exacerbates and encourages, shifting between a haggard-looking Evil Morph who wants revenge on the X-Men for abandoning them and cracks jokes while attacking the team, and a normal-looking Good Morph, who doesn’t want to hurt their friends, and is generally scared and confused and having a Bad Time.  If you are wondering about Morph turning into that version of themselves with dark circles around their eyes in X-Men 97 “Fire Made Flesh,” it was a reference back to this:
Tumblr media
Evil Morph lookin' reeeeeaal creepy.
Morph uses their shape-shifting trickery to fake marry Scott and Jean (as the priest), impersonate Xavier and turn the team against each other, until Wolverine identifies them by scent.  The team then chases Morph to Sinister’s lair, where he’s captured a honey-mooning Scott and Jean.  Morph has been struggling with the brainwashing the entire time, and breaks free long enough to attack Sinister, then runs off away from everyone.
Whatever It Takes: Wolverine, who has declared the Morph is “the only one who could ever make him laugh,” chases Morph down to Brazil in an attempt to drag them back to the team.  Morph, still fighting their dark side and flipping back and forth between the two personalities, taunts Wolverine in Jean’s form, fights him, and eventually gains enough control to tell Logan to back off. (“I have to get through this by myself!”)
Tumblr media
Fighting your friend in an abandoned mine shaft, a totally normal thing to do.
Wolverine reluctantly lets them go.  This the B-plot, the main plot of the episode features Storm and Rogue confronting the Shadow King in Africa, and is also really good.
Reunion Parts 1 and 2: Morph leaves a message for Wolverine stating that he wants to return to the team, in what seems like an obvious set-up for a trap.  Wolverine, Jean and Cyclops go to retrieve them, and find that yes, it is a trap.  Morph attmpts to warn the group to leave, but they are jumped by Sinister and the Nasty Boys, and the fight ends with Jean being taken, and Morph (still struggling against Sinister’s control), going semi-willingly.  The whole team winds up at Sinister’s base in the Savage Land and there are a lot of good character moments, like Gambit telling Rogue he loves her.  Morph spends the whole time still fighting against the brainwashing, but throws it off completely at the end (with Xavier’s help) and turns on Sinister, helping Scott and Jean defeat him.  Morph is then Put on a Bus to Muir Island so that the writers wouldn’t have to deal with the character but could hold them in reserve to use later.  Xavier comments that he can remove Sinister’s mind-control chip from Morph’s brain, but that “removing the psychic damage will take longer.”  So the answer to “Where’s Morph?” in later seasons will always be “Recovering on Muir Island, probably hanging out with Moira and Banshee.”
If you are a Morph fan, Season 2 is THE Morph season, they get a great character arc that fleshes them out, and establishes their close relationship with Wolverine.  I’m glad they didn’t toss out Morph in X-Men 97, both because I like the character, and because Morph’s entire arc in Season 2 was about their struggle to come back to the team, and constantly reaffirms that Morph is one of them, and that they belong with the X-Men.  Also, I know Tumblr love an angsty, suffering blorbo, and good God does Morph suffer in Season 2.
Tumblr media
(Someone is having a Bad Time).
Season 4:
Courage:  After getting only a couple of non-speaking background cameos in Season 3, this is Morph’s comeback episode in Season 4.  Morph believes that they are fully recovered and ready to rejoin the X-Men, while both Moira and Xavier seem to think they are not ready, and warn them to slow down a little.  Morph tries to jump back into their old role, makes jokes, and goes on a mission with Wolverine, but is clearly still dealing with PTSD and completely freezes up when Sentinels attack the mansion and kidnap Xavier.  Morph is left at the mansion while the X-Men go to rescue Xavier, but follows them anyway, and manages to play an instrumental role in stopping the Sentinels and saving Xavier.  Despite this, Morph decides that they are not ready to return and cannot be relied upon in battle (because the writers didn’t want to deal with using the character on the team), and goes back to Muir Island.  It’s a standard “character fucks up at the start of the episode but saves the day in the end” superhero cartoon story, and I was a little disappointed that the episode focused entirely on Morph’s “near death trauma” from the Sentinels and not the much worse “brainwashed and tortured by Sinister to the point of developing a second personality” issue.  The closest we get to addressing that is Morph pointedly walking up to Cyclops with “Scott…been a long time….” which sounds like a way of saying “We’re cool now, bro, I promise I won’t try to kill you.”  Still, we get some great Morph and Wolverine moments, and Morph kicks a lot of ass at the end.  After Morph spends most of the series either dead or suffering, I don’t mind an episode where they get to kick ass. This episode also establishes that Morph was suffering from serious nightmares for awhile, so consider that a canon excuse to put that in your angsty fanfic.
(Morph also gets a non-speaking cameo in Beyond Good and Evil Part 1, sitting next to Jubilee at Scott and Jean’s second wedding.  I think it’s sweet that they were invited, but can also imagine Scott putting them in the front row just to ensure that there are no more “fake priest” shenanigans.  “Let’s put Morph where I can see him….just in case.”)
Season 5:
Graduation Day: After Xavier is attacked, Morph returns to help calm mutants world-wide by impersonating Xavier and making a public call for peace.  Morph doesn’t do much in the episode, but they get an individualized goodbye from Xavier while he is addressing the team one by one, and it is clear at the end that Morph is officially back with the team.  In other words, the writers could give Morph a happy ending of coming back since the show was ending and they didn’t have to deal with it going forward.  Thankfully, the X-Men 97 writers were happy to pick up that ball and continue running with it, and I love what they’ve done with Morph so far!
Were there shippy vibes between Morph and Wolverine in the original series?
I dunno friend, watch “Whatever it Takes,” and “Courage,” and you tell me.  Morph shifting into Jean to taunt Wolverine definitely gives me vibes of “There’s something going on there.”
Is Morph in the comics?
(Note – I’m using he/him for all comics versions of Morph because those versions all apparently ID as male.)
The answer is yes, sort of.
Changeling:
Morph was loosely based on an obscure, long dead shape-shifting mutant from the X-Men’s original 60’s run.  Changeling was a villain with a tacky costume who acted very much like a standard 60’s comic book villain, associated with a terrorist group called Factor Three. Look at this fucking dude:
Tumblr media
At the end of the Factor Three arc, it turns out that Factor Three’s leader, Mutant Master, is an alien who wants to destroy ALL life on Earth to make way for his own people, and the mutants in the group turn on him and help the X-Men. Changeling is the first one to question Mutant Master’s motives, and that’s probably the only interesting thing he does in the whole story.  Several issues later, Xavier supposedly dies while helping defeat a villain named Grotesk and save the world.  This story is retconned near the end of the run, when Xavier is revealed to be alive, and explains that the dead “Xavier” was actually Changeling.  Changeling had discovered that he was terminally ill, and came to Xavier seeking redemption.  Xavier asked Changeling to temporarily take his place as Xavier while he shut himself up in the basement to prepare to stop an alien invasion (and no, the X-Men were not informed of this, besides Jean, and yes, that is really fucked up).  So Changeling became a reformed villain and honorary X-Man who went out in a heroic sacrifice, and was almost never mentioned again.  (Even now Changeling appears to still be dead in the comics, even though the current storyline has allowed ALL the dead mutants to come back.  Even Thunderbird is back.)
Changeling was greatly reworked to become Morph, totally changing his personality and origins.  The only similarities are the shapeshifting powers and physical appearance.  You can see how this guy:
Tumblr media
Became this not-actually-a-guy:
Tumblr media
Or even this version:
Tumblr media
X-Men 97 Morph got a real glow-up to their human form.
Of course, they also share the trait of being a sacrificial lamb plot device, and X-Men TAS creators were originally going to call the character “Changeling,” but changed the name to Morph because DC’s Beast Boy was called Changeling at the time.
Age of Apocalypse Morph:
In the 90’s, there was a cross-over event over all the X-Books called the Age of Apocalypse, in which a time-traveller (Xavier’s son Legion, long story) murdered Xavier in the past before Xavier formed the X-Men, and created a dystopian alternate reality in which Apocalypse had taken over and Magneto led the X-Men.  This was a kind of what-if event that let writers have fun with switching up character relationships, turning good guys bad and bad guys good, and of course, killing a lot of characters off.  The event only lasted about four issues before it was all undone and we returned to the main Marvel universe, so they could really go wild.  In the AoA book Astonishing X-Men, Magneto’s team includes a character called Morph, a versatile shapeshifter with a pasty white made-of-clay look, and a jovial, upbeat personality that is clearly based on TAS Morph.  (This change to character design is where X-Men 97 Morph’s white, featureless appearance comes from).
Tumblr media
Just a silly little guy!
AoA Morph is also stated in the book to have been formerly Changeling, before undergoing a name-change and attitude adjustment, making him an AU variant.  He explains to Sunfire at one point that he never takes anything seriously because fuck it, he’s probably gonna die anyway, he may as well die with a smile on his face.  AoA Morph is pretty cool, he does great shapeshifting tricks, and has some depth and heart beneath the obnoxious jokes.
Exiles Morph:
After Age of Apocalypse, the fan-favorite character Blink (like Morph, another alternate version of a short-lived character in the main comics timeline) gets pulled out of the AoA timeline and placed on a team of time-displaced X-Men.  This team, all coming from alternate realities and including some other minor neglected characters (like versions of Thunderbird and Mimic), is tasked with hopping through realities, putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that the next leap will be their leap home.  The team also includes a version of Morph, who is so similar to AoA Morph that Blink mistakes him initially for her old teammate.  This is another AU variant of Changeling who was never Changeling, but instead was recruited into the New Mutants (a bit of an age retcon for the character, as 60’s Changeling seemed much older, while Exiles Morph is clearly much younger.)  Exiles Morph was a popular hero in his reality, served as both an X-Man and an Avenger, and is an incredibly powerful shapeshifter.  He also winds up being a long-running mainstay of the Exiles team, so this is really the book to read for Morph content.  Exiles also fleshes out the character’s past, stating that he was born as a shapeshifting blob with X-gene already activated, and only assumed a human appearance to fit in with peers.  He also lost his mother to cancer at an early age, and his obnoxious jokey personality was partially a reaction to that, an attempt to both cheer up and get some attention from his grieving father.  Exiles Morph is a great character, my only complaint is that he is a bit of a sex pest, constantly making “jokes” that border on sexual harassment of his female teammates.  I don’t think he’s meant to actually be a creep, he never actually does anything, and when the teammate he has a crush on reveals that she is a lesbian, he steps back and acts as a supportive friend.  I think Exiles Morph just suffers from late 90’s early 2000 writing where the funny jokey character has to be all “LOL, Boobies!” all the time, just so we know he’s straight.  (Funny, given how not-straight X-Men 97 Morph seems to be.)
The Other Morph: Benjamin Deeds:
Brian Michael Bendis, in his Uncanny X-Men run, introduced a new character named Benjamin Deeds who could shapeshift, and looked suspiciously similar to a teenage version of Changeling/TAS Morph.  His personality was different, though (more of a sulky teen trying to deal with being a mutant than a funny guy), and the nature of his powers is different.  Benjamin has what is described as “chameleon-like” shapeshifting, taking on the physical characteristics of people when he gets close to them rather than fully shifting forms.  He also exudes a chemical that makes people automatically like and trust him.  Emma suggests the codename “Morph,” and although Benjamin doesn’t like it, it becomes his official codename going forward.  I don’t think Ben actually has any real connection to Changeling or TAS Morph, he seems more like a legacy character or winking homage, like Pyro II (Simon Lasker, who inexplicably has the same powers and looks almost exactly like original Pyro, St. John Alledyce).  He’s fun character and a cute lil’ guy, though.
There are people who call TAS Morph an “original character” completely invented for the cartoon, and I don’t think they’re entirely wrong.  Morph is VERY different from Changeling,  But to me, it makes the most sense to consider TAS Morph another AU variant of Changeling, given all the influence back and forth between the comics and the cartoon.  Morph was based on Changeling, and Morph’s popularity led to AU versions of Changeling in the comics with TAS Morph’s personality literally named “Morph,” and now X-Men 97 Morph has been redesigned to match AoA/Exiles Morph’s appearance.  They are variations of the same person.  And it’s not exactly the first time that a comics character has been drastically reworked in an adaptation – I’m looking at you, First Class Mystique and Evolution’s “Lance Alvers.”  I wonder if people would still be calling Morph an “original character” if they’d kept the name “Changeling,” since keeping the name seems to be all it takes at times.  Still, TAS Morph is kind of right on the border between OC and “adapted from the comics,” and even I tend to include them in groups of “created for the cartoon” characters like Firestar, Spyke and X-23.
Why is Morph tagged as “Kevin Sydney/Sidney”?
Because that is the character’s name, more or less.  TAS Morph didn’t have a “real name” in 92, because Changeling didn’t (similarly, Rogue also didn’t have a real name because the character hadn’t been given one in the comics.)  In Age of Apocalypse, characters called Morph “Sydney” or “Syd,” and Morph even referred to himself that way in a thought-balloons, but the Exiles writer apparently decided, “Nah, it’s a last name,” and officially named Morph “Kevin Sydney.”  The name stuck, and the 2004 Marvel “Book of the Dead” gave Changeling that name in the entry on him.  Morph’s name has never been given in the cartoon, but it’s probably safe to assume that their official “human name” is Kevin Sydney, just like TAS Rogue is probably Anna Marie (her official name in the comics.)  Interestingly, even in Exiles, the book where the name originated, Morph always goes by “Morph” and never “Kevin.”  Maybe Home Alone ruined the name for him.  I tend to use the Kevin Sydney tags on Tumblr and A03 to differentiate from other uses of the “morph” tag.  In particular, Tumblr has a lot of body modification fetish posts tagged as “morph,” and no offense to the fetishists, you all keep doing what you are doing, but that’s not the content I’m looking for.  I’m sure the fetish people are probably a bit annoyed at their own tag filling up with an X-Men character, but hey, it’s their name.
How old is Morph?  How long were they with the team and when did they join?  Is the featureless white face their “real form”?  What’s their history with Wolverine?
I don’t have answers here because we don’t know.  There’s a lot we don’t know about TAS Morph, and the origins of their comics counterparts don’t really translate well into cartoon continuity.  Like I can’t imagine TAS Morph ever having been a willing member of Factor Three.
Personally, I tend to assume that Morph was with the team for awhile before their “death,” given that they have an established “old friend” relationship with Wolverine and know the team extremely well.  I also tend to assume that TAS Morph is a similar age to the other young adults on the team like Scott and Jean.  They sometimes look older in the original series, because they were based on Changeling (who also looks older), but the voice acting and general personality of the character seem younger, plus Wolverine calls them “kid”a couple of times.  And it seems like their “human form” may not be their “real face” anyway, given that they’ve now defaulted to the white blank-face look.  The white blank-face look IS the real form for Exiles (and presumably AoA) Morph, so the same is probably true for TAS Morph and Changeling.  But this is all just my own headcanon and speculation, based on what I’ve seen in the original cartoon and the comics.  You are all free to come up with your own headcanons fleshing out the character, I’ve already seen great stuff in fanfic out there!
Edit: Actually, I thought of a bit more:
How does Morph shift their clothing? Does Morph even wear clothes? How can they create accessories like Psylocke's swords?
Honestly, I dunno, this is Rule of Cool and Morph as a vehicle for character cameos in affect here. I will say that, in the comics, many characters with shapeshifter-type powers, like Wolfsbane, wear costumes made of unstable molecules that shift with their bodies, the same may be true of Morph. Exiles Morph, when commenting on his female teammates' skimpy costumes, at one point jokes that he "wears even less," so he may just be literally making clothing out of his own body. Although I would think that would get cold, or painful with no protection against the elements.
I assume that Morph does form accessories like Psylocke's swords out of their own body, which also presumably means they can't drop them. I wonder if it would hurt Morph if one of the swords broke? Exile Morph regularly turns his own body into accessories that he can hold (but not separate from his form), so presumably X-Men 97 Morph is doing the same. This is a step-up from TAS Morph, who never did that. Exiles Morph seems to be able to turn their body into whatever they want.
Does Morph copy the powers of other mutants?
Morph seems to be able to mimic only the physical-based powers of other mutants, under the shapeshifter logic of changing their body to give themselves larger muscles, claws, etc. So Angel's wings, but not Cyclops' eye beams. Nightcrawler's tail but not teleportation. In X-Men 97, Morph takes a couple of shots from X-Cutioner after shifting into Colossus, so apparently they can do the whole metal skin thing. But in TAS, when Morph turns into Wolverine, their claws are not adamantium and Wolverine easily slices through them.
I would add that Exiles Morph is also extremely durable, and can literally be ripped to pieces and shapeshift himself back together. This doesn't seem to be the case of "died from Sentinel lasers" TAS Morph, but maybe they just aren't there with their power levels yet. Exiles Morph IS especially susceptible to burns or laser blasts, and almost dies when Hyperion hits him with a beam at close range.
That’s it, hopefully this is helpful for people completely new to the character who got into X-Men 97.  Mostly I just love writing about Morph.  I encourage you to go back and watch the original series, or at least the Morph episodes.  It’s a good show, if a bit 90’s corny, and will let you fully appreciate X-Men 97 (which has been, so far, an absolute banger of a series).  Presumably we’ll see more character development of Morph as the show continues, which will maybe answer some of these questions.

hi i haven't watched moon knight but i've watched video essays on it so i know a bit, who's ur favorite character and what are ur headcanons for them?
Ok apologies in advance bc im super dizzy writing this :D but Ohhh my god absolutely its Jake Lockley. Comics and show. Ok well in the show he doesnt have much screentime BUT it doesn't mean theres not subtle jake moments and like teases to him existing. I have assloads of jake hcs (he likes cats, hes fond of sharks, and astronomy, and he wears gloves all the time to help with his sensory issues) but i think he has soooo many roles in the MK sys! Hes a gatekeeper, a memory/trauma holder, a physical protector (occasionally dabbles in emotional protecting, like a romantic/sexual protector!) I think he frequently goes nonverbal (autism creature♡)!! I think hes a Guardian too, but in the case of rangling Khonshu (or any other "persecutor type") ! I have so many hcs abt what roles he fills and the extent of them 🧍 i love intersys relations♡♡ he has little rituals that he takes on when he gets time to front. He enjoys a nice cup of coffee at Genas diner, and he will occasionally smoke a cigarette or two despite stevens protests.(Genas been trying to get him to quit, started giving him lollipops and hard candies cause the smoking is probably from some oral fixation.)
Hes really social! But hes still got the anxiety that comes with being social. He has to be for his taxi driving anyways! I feel like hes got a social mask to interact with people he drives around n stuff, when he needs info, etc. But he doesnt like to meet new people? Like, he has friends already, and the idea of making connections is nerve wracking (thats Stevens job, hes good at external connections! Esp comic steven, since he literally makes all their friends for the most part. Like he and jake make the friends and marc is stubborn♡)
[Tw for trauma ment, abuse, etc! Skip to the next colored line for not that :D]
Jake insys looks different than the body out of sys sometimes too! He holds a physical manifestation of previous injuries/trauma. He and Marc share certain scars or marks from their merc/military days, and in the case of the show, from physical trauma growing up with their mom. Steven tends not to have those marks/scars! Marc definitely has some, but not to the extent as Jake. Since jake is a gatekeeper/memory holder, he would have more scars or marks representing certain memories or traumas that they experienced, even if Marc doesnt, bc Marc doesnt get all the memories. Steven gets like None at all, so he wouldnt really have those markings. Jake might carry some chronic pain stuff (symptom holder) too? Speaking from experience, abuse like that can lead to nerve damage/chronic pain, so it would make sense he would experience it.
[ Ok, end of tw section]
I think Jakes music taste varies too! He usually just listens to the radio in his cab, so he doesnt have a Set Big Preference. He does love Luis Miguel tho. Steven likes reading ,but im sure he enjoys music! Probably nothing too Hardcore, softer music, or maybe even oldies. I think Marc would like music like Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, def leppard, acdc, hozier, Imagine dragons, Muse idk i have lists and playlists but thats not the point here. Jake likes Doja Cat.
He also loves cats just in general, black cats especially. Marc prefers dogs, and Steven (obviously) likes his fish!
Hes the shortest insys! God theres this funny art thing of the mk boys going Jake why are u so small, and jake replies with some shit about being like Wolverine. I think by @bicatperson ?? AS I WAS WRITING THIS I FOUND IT. Here.
EDIT: link didnt work here it is again hopefully?
Im trying to think of more things uhm. He ALWAYS tips Gena extra at the diner (They are sweet, theyre like two highschool sweethearts to me. She cares about his well being and he loves her boys like his own. ) speaking of, jake is So good with kids. Btw. I feel like hed definitely be a little caretaker !! He also loves Diatrice and calls her Dia or dee,or didi :) i also hate all the shit abt her not being "his kid" which just isnt fucking true. Sorry im not a fan of marlene for that shit.
Anyways. Jake is crucial to the mk sys in any universe in anyway possible in my brain ok. Hes kind and strong and doesnt shy from a fight. Hes wreckless at times but hes good at figuring things out. Hes got those streetsmarts. Hes also in love with his lawyer Matt Murdock.

I started Reading Ms Marvel!
Kamala Khan is such a fun character! My first introduction to her was actually through the avenger’s game. (Unfortunately while the campaign started really fun, the gameplay itself turned rather sour fast. I wish this was just single player without the boring bullshit..)
As I expected, the comic itself is really fun. Imagine growing up with this series, it really feels like a story intended for a new generation and its just really good.
The artwork and writing are topnotch. And it’s really exciting!
I personally kinda get bored if all MC’s are the same. Kamala may be a Teen girl, but she’s not the average character that we tend to hear about. Most stories I grew up with are just about white teen boys with.. Super intelligence. How am I supposed to relate to super intelligence? lol.
When you see a character make mistakes, or go through awkward things.. Fandoms.. Socializing. Struggling with societal expectations. Even if I don’t directly relate to Kamala’s personal struggles, I do feel a sort of kinship. Empathy.
Childhood is difficult. But how many heroes are there you really feel some shared struggles with? Feeling as if you have to change to fit in.. I think all teenagers can relate to that. From whatever generations. Even adults.
‘‘Ugnhn I don’t wanna read about a muslim girl, bluh bluh’‘ Makes you sound really boring and racist.. Often when cultural parts are strung into a character’s background, its just represented just as much as it would be for the average person.
An European character would have European heritage or history be hinted at, or certain cursewords and phrases. Religion, food, clothes. That’s just as much as you get from Kamala’s heritage. It’s not that weird that people have different cultures and backgrounds. I don’t want to read about the same kinds of characters all the time.
I just wish more people understood the beauty of culture. But no, they want copypasta characters. Always straight, always perfect, always men with 1000000 girlfriends. ‘’True Alpha’s’’ BORING.
(It’s also funny how often the characters they use as their perfecto manhood examples are the exact opposite of what they think they are... Like Deadpool.. Lol. Or Wolverine. Did you know Star-lord is Bisexual and never actually dates Gamora in the comics??)
I’m a gay guy. I like reading about female characters that aren’t set in the ‘’male gaze’’ I’m tired of looking for movie and the second a woman comes into focus, you just know that’s the love interest and that there’s gonna be an extremely awkward sex scene that’s somehow fit for 13+.
I Try to Read stories that are about different kinds of people. If you don’t grow up with diversity, you don’t really always understand it. Unfortunately that’s how education goes. If you just want to complain and not give something a chance because you think ‘’ít’s not for me because its about a person of color’’ then you’ve got a nugget of a brain that can’t absorb cool stories.
The coolest stories? The coolest stories aren’t about ‘’the guy that is perfect and gets what he wants and is totally not flawed’’ Where’s the struggle? Where’s the heritage? Where’s the emotional baggage? Where’s the character growth?
Where are the things my history teacher didn’t talk about?
Diversity matters.
Kamala Khan’s polymorph powers are super cool btw.
Just wish they weren’t making her cosmic nr 2 in the disney+ show. I’m personally worried its going to make people feel distanced once they read her actual comic or watch her on the animated series. If they end up transferring that power change to the comic, I think a bunch of the old fans will be really sad.
Another Theory I have is that due the whole ‘’cosmic item’’ hints (shang-chi’s after credit scene is an example) At a likely big event plot in regards to multiple items. Perhaps in the guardians vol 3 we’ll see a Nova Helmet, or the Cosmic Seed. We’ve already seen the ebony blade at the end of the celestials- But i’m not sure if it counts as cosmic. As for Moonknight, perhaps there’s another object of interest there as well? (No spoilers pls.)
If Kamala’s powers are bound to the object, (In the comics its just a family heirloom she wears?) then losing the object would mean she would lose the ability to use them. This could perhaps set up ‘’lost my powers’’ plot, but eventually introduce the inhuman somehow (after we get the x-men first) and then do the terrigen mist plot to have Kamala actually become who she is.
An inhuman superhero!
Read comics. They’re cool.

Shang chi and wolverine
Something that I don’t see ever talked about that I’ve always found hilarious was the relationship in comics between Shang chi and Wolverine.
So when they first meet it’s in a team up between the x men and shang chi where the two of them (in classical comic book fashion) almost kill each other because misunderstandings. They do end up working together when they find out that the kingpin took over some remains of Shang chi’s father’s organisation and are after the via vitae elixir that could potentially kill the sickness that is killing mutants.
Anyways the elixir is destroyed and they both part ways and not much else, their interactions in this moment aren’t really anything more then Wolvering remarking on Shang chi’s wisdom and Shang chi noting the speical bond between wolverine and a certain lady mutant of the team (wink wink).
Anyways, this meeting is never really referrenced again and when they both meet up again they both act as if they don’t know each other, which taking into account that there’s I think like ten years between their meeting (in real life I mean) it makes enough sense to me.
So, Wolverine has just gotten his ass kicked by sabertooth, who has taken one of his friends as a hostage. Defeated and kind of at a loss, Logan goes to Shang chi and asks him to help him teach him learn a new technique or something so that he can defeat sabertooth, whom he can never manage to fight without losing all his senses. Shang chi refuses as he has given up fighting and the two engage in a philosophical talk, Shang chi pointing out that Wolverine already goes to sabertooth defeated with the mindsets he goes with. At first wolverine disregards his words, but later when he goes to confront sabertooth he takes the words to heart and manages to defeat his enemy.
(btw this took place in Wolverine: First Class issue 9)
The other occassion I want to talk about is in the wolverine comic book series of 2014 during the ‘three months to die’ event. In here, once again, Wolverine lost to sabertooth and asks for help, this time with the addition of asking Iron Fist (although to be honest Danny is there more fore decoration then anything else).
Wolverine thinks that what’s holding his back is that he’s once again scared of death, Shang chi of course hears this and decides ‘you know what would be a good idea? make him confront this fear in the most direct ay possible by bringing him to death’s vacation island’. It’s kind of hilarious in hindsight how he took ‘confront your fears’ very literally.
In both of these situations it’s Shang chi that takes the role of mentor and friend to Wolverine, helping to guide him and temper that infamous temper of his aside from his fears. It’s something that’s never really brought up again but that I always found incredibly interesting, specially taking into account that Logan rarely asks for help and is significantly older and with more experience then our resident master of kung fu.
I wish that more writers would invest and look into this dynamic, but taking the few times the characters have interacted and all I doubt it will happen again, specially taking into account the more easy going and ‘younger’ Shang chi that has been written for said character’s new comic book series. In said series, when they meet up there’s barely any words of significance said between them, but that can be said for most of the interactions between Shang chi and other heroes in the run of ‘Shang chi vs  the marvel universe’
Nevertheless, it’s still interesting what that relationship could have been, and I do find myself revisiting those issues frequently (specially First class cause that whole issue is just gold)

BTW, more Midnight Suns news, from two Gameinformer articles and a gameplay video:
The Hunter does not remember how they beat Lillith the first time. Centuries of sleep is apparently bad for your long-term memory.
Our heroes' headquarters, The Abbey, is contained with a pocket dimension and thus out of Lillith's reach.
The heroes are wary of the Hunter, because Lillith is their mom.
The Hunter has Light abilities, which are focused on buffing and healing, and Dark abilities, which are more damaging but come at a cost.
Light and Dark also serve as the game's Paragon/Renegade system. Choose more Light options in dialogue and you get more Light abilities, and vice-versa.
Lillith is a member of The Blood, a race of humanoids living on Earth descended from the Elder Gods.
The Caretaker, the Midnight Suns' mission control, is Lillith's sister and thus the Hunter's aunt. Caretaker is also a comics character, but has been genderswapped for the game.
Lillith and Caretaker fought the forces of darkness together for thousands of years, until Lillity sold her soul to the evil Elder God Chthon for some reason in the late 1600s.
Her motivations are apparently "personal and tragic", and she thinks she's doing all this for a good reason.
Her first attempted at a Demon Invasion apparently triggered the Salem Witch Trials.
So the Hunter has been asleep for about 300 years.
Lillith was entombed when defeated, and the Darkhold, a book of evil magic written by Chthon and holds the key to returning him to this dimension, was separated and scattered across the globe.
Hydra has recovered all but one page by the time they revive Lillith, who immediately subjugates Hydra to her will.
The revive Lillith with the Darkhold, but also Gamma tech.
Lillith can subjugate people to her will, turning them into The Fallen. Both heroes and villains will make up The Fallen, and the cast is apparently "massive".
She assaults the Sanctum Santorum early in the game, with Strange, Carol, Tony and a "young Scarlet Witch" escaping, and thus turning to the Midnight Suns for help.
BTW, judging by dialogue in the gameplay segment, Caretaker and Agatha Harkness were training Wanda, but she lost control and killed Agatha, forcing Caretaker to let her go.
The Hunter thinks Lillith is evil and needs to go down. Lillith thinks the Hunter is misguided and wants the Hunter to join her.
Lillith wants to summon Chthon, which is done by reading the Darkhold under a once-in-a-billion-year Midnight Sun.
The gameplay takes place ten hours into this 40-60 hour game, and feature Wolverine's introduction to the party.
Also to note, there's no sign of Cap at this stage in the game. Magik, Nico, Blade, Robbie, Strange, Carol and Tony are all present.
While each character has their own deck of cards, the player only has one hand, drawing from all three decks. So, add more cards to a character's deck to increase your chance of pulling cards for them.
Hand is six cards, you keep any you don't use, and draw more at the beginning of each turn.
Characters can move infinitely before a card is played, but once one is, all characters are locked in place until the next turn.
You can spend Heroism points to make attacks using the environment, without playing cards.
Some bosses have abilities that let them attack during your turn.
Crossbones has put a bounty on the Hunter's head, which Sabertooth attempts to collect.
The Hunter also has multiple casual outfits as well as a customisable superhero costume.
You can also decorate your bedroom.
The Hunter has a pet Hellhound, her name is Charlie.
My dog is named Charlie too, but he's a Spaniel/Setter mix.
The Abbey is explorable between missions, where you can also hang out with your team, complete some missions, and gather resources.
During non-gameplay moments in the video, there are comics behind the hosts featuring the characters of the game, and also two Spider-Man comics and an Incredible Hulk comic.

Okay update on my wandavision obsession...
Let’s start with the twins. The first time they age up is after Agnes sprays them with “lavender”. Now this is a bit of a reach but it could be a nodd to the purple man a.k.a killgrave who’s body produces chemical pheromones which when inhaled or absorbed through the skin allows killgrave to control others actions EXCEP STRONG WILLED PEOPLE. This would explain Agnes comment “kids, you can’t control them no matter how hard you try”. In the comics moon knight defeats the purple man so this could be either her foreshadowing for the upcoming series or he could be tied directly into this plot.
Now fast forward to episode 6 and the kids are playing with uncle Pete and they all drink a soda branded as “Kane cola”. Shortly after that they develop their brand new powers. This could be tied to garrison Kane, a half cybernetic super human (one red eye one blue) who gained those cybernetic parts by traveling into the past and being apart of the weapon x program, the same program that “upgraded” wolverine and created Deadpool). He was then brought back to the present and later joined into an organization....A.I.M! Kane is rumored to appear in Deadpool 3, again another foreshadow to future events or directly tied into this because this is all A.I.M.
Think about it, A.I.M debuted in iron man 3 by experimenting on humans to make them super. A.I.M stands for advanced idea mechanics in which they use science to make super weapons. They are also know for creating the cosmic cube (basically the tesseract) which warps reality. This could be the source of the hex but Wanda was far too powerful which is why she still has some control. A.I.Ms alias is THE BEEKEEPERS and in the comics was originated by non other than baron von strucker the same man who experimented on wanda and pietro.
We also know that A.I.M was working with roxxon from iron man 3 as kriegers base was on one of their freights and he had inside intel to what the president (who’s last name is Ellis btw as in Ellis Ave) was doing to cover up the oil spill. Now roxxon was a huge villain up against bum bum buuummm SPIDER-MAN. Again another set up as to what is to come for phase 4.
Now using the cosmic cube might not be the cause since the mcu used it as the tesseract but! We see in infinity war scarlet witch destroys the stone but it becomes shattered into a bunch of tiny pieces.
Okay now stay with me for this. In the comics a character named mandarin finds an ancient alien who used ten rings to power his ship. Each ring was acquired after centuries of this alien dragon seeking knowledge. Each ring represents a different ability but one was made from a shard of the cosmic cube and lets the wearer manipulate reality. A.k.a the set up for the upcoming Shang chi and the legend of the ten rings.
Now this specific ring is eventually stolen by the ring master, the son of a nazi agent whose circus was a cover for murdering government officials. (Notice how s.w.o.r.d was turned into a circus once they entered the hex) the role was originally his fathers but after his parents murdered a U.S sergeant with a tiger (notice the tiger toy constantly on the table in episode 5) they were defeated and he took up the role. Now in the comics the ring is taken from him and lands in the hands of none other than our very own A.I.M.
So we have a superweapons arms dealer,A.I.M, and a terrorist group, the ten rings, that follow an ancient evil warlord hellbent on destroying world peace. New mcu big bad? Honestly I think it’s the time traveling kang the conqueror but I have no evidence from the show to support that lol
Now do I think A.I.M hired all these supervillain’s including Agatha harkness and moonstone to control wanda? Probably not but that would be fricken cool, but I can’t deny all these connections! I also think the kree has something to do with this but maybe on Hayward’s end. It would make sense that the artificial supreme would want a superpowered synthesoid. All these connections could just be the writer and director planting Easter eggs of future villains or paying homage to villains that won’t be in it at all but either way I’m loving every second of it.

What’s Happening With Marvel’s X-Men?
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains spoilers for recent Marvel X-Men stories.
A long time ago, back at the beginning of the interminable, endless month of March that the pandemic has trapped us in, Marvel’s X-Men books were barrelling towards their first big post-Dawn of X crossover, X of Swords. And then the world stopped, and plans changed for the X-Men while everything was paused.
Now that we’re back, plans have changed, and books are coming fast and furious. So what’s going on with Marvel’s Merry Mutants? Which book did Storm get sick in? What book should you read for a good Laksa recipe? New Mutants, but we can answer all your other questions on what’s going on with the X-Men below.
While we won’t rehash the entire thing, House of X/Powers of X reset the entire X-Men line. Mutants can’t die anymore (or rather, if they do, they’re resurrected from clone bodies and emergency backup minds by The Five and Professor X). The X-Men, and all mutants alive, are now living on Krakoa, a living, mutant island in the Pacific that, at some point in the distant past, broke in half, sending one part of it to a dangerous, monster-infested realm with Apocalypse’s first Horsemen standing guard making sure it didn’t return.
Humans are back to hating and fearing mutants on a wide scale, but this time it’s mostly because the mutants are vehemently anti-capitalism, flooding markets with cheap, life-extending and health-improving drugs and vowing to take down the human world with economic weapons of their own making. This has the humans initiating some pretty intense Sentinel programs, particularly around the sun, where Nimrod – the adaptive Sentinel whose existence dooms mutantkind in one Powers of X future – was very nearly created.
And amidst all of that, Moira MacTaggert, the secret mutant mastermind with the power of Groundhog Lifeing (when she dies, her consciousness is immediately transported back to her prenatal self to be born again with all her old memories. She’s on life ten now, btw), is frantically trying to manipulate events so that mutants continue to exist in the long run as the next phase in human evolution, averting a future where man-machine hybrids (like Omega Sentinels and the Children of the Vault) develop while humans and mutants are busy fighting among themselves. She’s also not allowing Charles and Magneto to revive any mutants with precognitive powers, expecting them to see her plan and ruin Krakoan civilization.
X-Men
X-Men, by mastermind Jonathan Hickman with art mostly from Leinil Yu, is where big ideas are being seeded for later use.
This is where the story of Krakoa and its estranged, otherdimensional partner Arakko was further developed (following its introduction in Powers of X and setting up X of Swords, the first mutant crossover of the Dawn of X era). X-Men introduced Hordeculture (think the Golden Girls if they were also ecoterrorist botanists); reintroduced the Children of the Vault; showed how depowered mutants get in line to get their powers back; and saw Magneto and Apocalypse threaten humankind with the most terrible weapon of all: finance capitalism.
New Mutants
It also, just prior to the break, X-Men had a spiritual crossover with New Mutants, initially a split book by Hickman and Rod Reis on the space issues, and Ed Brisson, Flaviano, and Marco Failla on the Earth issues. Brisson, Flaviano and Failla’s story follows a group of Earthbound mutant kids (including Glob Herman and Boom Boom) as they track down stragglers to Krakoa, like Beak and Angel.
Hickman and Reis took the original New Mutants plus Chamber and Mondo into space to go pick up Cannonball (who was living on Chandi’lar with his wife, Smasher). On the way there, they stole a King Egg from the Starjammers and brought it back to Earth, where it turns out, we discover in X-Men, the King Egg is a bioweapon created by the Kree to control the Brood for an eventual war with the Shi’ar. Broo, the supersmart mutant Broodling from Wolverine and the X-Men, eats the egg and becomes the Brood King.
Excalibur
Excalibur is the shining star of the line so far. Tini Howard and Marcus To are growing the mythos of mutant magic with a very odd team that includes Betsy Braddock (now back in her original body and the new Captain Britain); Rogue and Gambit; Jubilee and her mysteriously dragonified son Shogo; new earth mage Rictor; and Apocalypse, who is clearly up to some stuff. Apocalypse picks a fight with Otherworld and places a newly resurrected but still batshit Jamie Braddock on the throne of the magical realm.
Excalibur was one of the first books to return from hiatus, and it came back with maybe the best single issue of the entire relaunch in issue #10. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Marauders
Marauders launched as the story about the Hellfire Trading Company, the corporate arm of Krakoa that distributes the miracle drugs around the world while also smuggling mutants in trouble home to Krakoa. But Gerry Duggan and Matteo Lolli’s book quickly turned into the mystery of Kitty Pryde – why she’s not able to use the Krakoan gates that allow instantaneous travel around the galaxy, and whether she can be resurrected by The Five. That story has just about come to a head, but it is worth noting that it still contains a great deal of Hellfire Trading Company intrigue between Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw, and a lot of drunken pirate antics. The resurrected original Pyro does get a tattoo of the Marauders skull on his face at one point. It’s fun.
X-Force
X-Force, by Ben Percy and Joshua Cassara, immediately killed Professor X. He was resurrected, of course, but it served as both a notice that everyone is fair game, and alongside Marauders, keeps some slight mystery to character death alive post-The Five’s perpetual resurrection machine. It’s also the story of the Krakoan CIA, so it sets up the global threats facing the mutant nation, and then sends Wolverine to get cut in half fighting them. Also, Forge creates a bio-mech loader suit and smashes the two halves of Logan back together at one point. If that’s something you find yourself chuckling at, this book is going to exceed expectations.
Fallen Angels
Fallen Angels focused mostly on resetting the current Psylocke’s status quo. Kwannon was brought back to life and placed in her old body shortly before the reboot (very quickly: Spiral switched Psylocke and Kwannon’s bodies, then before they could be reverted, Kwannon got the Legacy Virus and died, then when Betsy used a villain’s powers to recreate her old body and reinhabit it, Kwannon…uh…got better…). Here, she teamed with X-23 and Cable, with ops backup from Mister Sinister, to track down Apoth, a technological being selling cybernetic drugs to humans.
It’s mostly setup for Psylocke, X-23 (now Wolverine again, I think), and Sinister while adding another technological foe to the mix. It leads almost directly into Zeb Wells and Steven Segovia’s Hellions, a book about Sinister’s team of mutants who are all gleefully, unrepentantly screwed up and are currently on a mission cleaning up some old clones Sinister left lying around.
Cable, Wolverine, and More…
Cable, Wolverine and the Giant Size issues, are still mostly seeding future storylines. Cable, from Duggan and Phil Noto, has only had a couple of issues so far, but it’s brought the Galadorians (the Spaceknights minus ROM, who belongs to IDW now, I think) into mutant orbit and given Nathan a sword for the crossover.
Wolverine, by Percy, Adam Kubert and Victor Bogdanove, has Logan tracking down illicit Krakoan flower dealers, and also Omega Red works for Dracula now. And the Giant Size issues are mysteries piled on mysteries piled on incredible art. Hickman has scripted all three, and so far, Storm caught a technovirus from the Children of the Vault in the Jean Grey/Emma Frost issue (drawn by Russell Dauterman); we find out what’s up with Cypher’s techno-organic arm in the Nightcrawler issue (from Alan Davis); Magneto buys Emma an island from Namor with art from Ramon Perez; and we get actual backstory and incredible Rod Reis art in the Fantomex issue.
Empyre
The recently wrapped Empyre: X-Men’s opening scene is simultaneously one of the most important to the metanarrative of mutant struggle that’s been developing since the Professor’s “No More” scene in House of X #4 AND the best setup/punchline in any Dawn of X comic. It also starts to deliver on some of the rumored-but-never-announced X-Men ideas that were floated early after the reboot – Angel and M are two of the leads, playing out a little of the boardroom drama we hoped for after an X-Corporation book was rumored.
X-Factor
X-Factor, from Leah Williams and David Baldeon, more or less just launched. It’s about the team investigating and verifying mutant deaths, to put those lives into the queue for resurrection. This feels like the book set up to deliver on the weirdest promises of the relaunch, and the creative team are inventive, fun storytellers, so keep an eye on this. Williams has a very sharp ear for patter and knows her characters well – while it’s not an X-book, Amazing Mary Jane is a stunning accomplishment of delightful character work. Early X-Factor is more of the same, with more mutant high concept.
And all this is leading to X of Swords, the new X-writers room’s attempt to outdo X-Cutioner’s Song: a 22-part Tini Howard-led crossover where everyone swordfights over half of Krakoa. And still dangling in the ether, unannounced but long discussed, are Vita Ayala and Bernard Chang’s Children of the Atom, following a group of mutant teenagers who idolize the X-Men, and a Moira X book that’s expected to fill in some of the gaps in Moira’s many, many timelines.

Anyway, would you imagine the madness that would be the Civil War (2006) Event if it was released today?
Like...
1- There is a major explosion wiping out a suburban, white picked american town in the midwest, explosion started right next to a school, caused by a team of C List superheroes literally attacking a group of B list Supervillains, who were having a barbecue there for some reason, just to get more ratings on their reality show rather than any heroic duty. Many people die, mostly kids due to the school, and we see the bloody aftermath. Even the Sentinels, compared to burning crosses in terms of racial sensitivity by Wolverine, help out to fish out people from the debris.
2- Because of this, major Anti Superhero Sentiments start sprouting up in the country. One of the victims’ mother (A major player in the event believe it or not) spits on Tony Stark’s face. The Human Torch gets lynched by some black stereotypes because he was allowed to go into a exclusive nightclub with a white girl due to his celebrity status and they weren’t, major protests start going trough the nation, all demanding SOMETHING to be done against those pesky superheroes, As monuments are being torn down and what not, as ALL superheroes, as a social class, at fault for what has happened there during the explosion.
3- This brings us to the Government Regulation Thing, THE Superhero Registration Program. Maria Hill, who wasn’t a Skrull Chaos Agent and has never been (It’s important you remember this), announces to Captain America that the... senate? chamber? Anyway, someone is going to approve this new law (Which, you know, isn’t law yet btw) that will require all superheroes to have their Identity revealed to the public and become paid government workers. They get a pension and health insurance and insurance for any collateral damage they cause as long as they do what they are told and do not step out of line.
You know, Normal, TOTALLY not fascist shit.
4- Anyway, Cap obviously is outraged by this, for “How Long until it will be Washington that tells us who the real villain is” (Which is, you know, SUPER RELEVANT), and claims will never sign up for any of this, which Maria Hill, who, again, is not a Undercover Skrull Chaos Agent, knew he was going to say so she tries to arrest him for breaking a law that isn’t a law yet, unleashing plenty of armed guards and a couple of attack helicopters on him. She fails, he runs away, and the other superheroes are presented with a choice.
CONFORM OR BE HUNTED DOWN LIKE DOGS.
5- If you think this was bad prepare for the real bad shit to start now, because you have to keep in mind this:
The registration side are the supposed good guys here. They are what the narrative consider to be the one who win at the end, whose ideals were better than Captain Fucking America’s. Keep this in mind as you read this:
6- The Major 3 players of the Registration Side are Tony Stark, Mister Fantastic and Hank Pym.
6A- Tony Stark is a war criminal. He tries to stage a terrorist attack on Independent Nation Atlantis, using a “Mind Controlled” Norman Osborn (More on this later) to pull the trigger, so he could both kill Namor and start war with the underwater kingdom, whose Non Namor Rulers will surely try to get revenge against the surface for such happenings, sell weapons during the ensuing war, AND unite the divided superhero community against a common enemy, in this case, Atlantis.
Tony Stark is also responsible for the Supervillain Rehabilitation Program, which is taking willing and unwilling supervillains alike and putting bombs in their brains, ready to blow up at a sign of disobedience, so to use as enforcers for the registration side. Many of those villains have a kill count on the double digits. Many of those villains where later deployed in hunt down and capture missions of Superheroes who had defected, superheroes they all had a hate boner for and loved nothing more but to beat up and potentially kill/maim. One of the fucking Hobgoblins was among them. BULLSEYE WAS FUCKING AMONG THEM.
He manipulated Spider-Man into revealing his identity to the world, something that caused major Bullshit to everyone involved, for, once Spider-Man realized what kind of bullshit he had signed up for and decided to go rogue, Tony first hacks the stark patented supersuit he gave him as a gift so it malfunctions, then sends 2 bloodthirsty supervillains armed to the teeth with explosives and with bombs in their brain to capture him and rough him up a little, then removes peter’s wife and aunt from the family protection/hostage program, which forces them to hide out in a crappy motel in fear that one day a supervillain discovers where they are and bombs them, which guess what is what fucking happens in the end since a sniper finds out they are there and shoots Aunt May, which is what ultimately leads to the worst story in comic book history ONE MORE (FUCKING) DAY.
6B- Reed “Mister Fantastic” Richards is presented by the narrative as emotionally distant and abusive to his wife. He will, with the help of Tony Stark and Hank Pym, create a mechanical clone of Thor, who was absent from earth at the time, with the sole purpose of crowd control and dispersion in the event of a superhero vs superhero fight.
Lethal Force is apparently authorized and approved, for The first mission he is deployed in, Clone-Thor, the clone of a bloody Norse god, ends up Killing Black Goliath, a black superhero, something not contested, in fact almost condoned by the narrative and the registration side, and both the reason why Spider-Man defects and a Hydra Scientist (Oh, yeah, they also conscript Hydra Scientists in the thing so tho create more bio weapons and shit) finds the reason why he considers those three his favorite superheroes.
Also Reed Richards is a McCarthy apologist. He talks about this one uncle of his, a artist, who was considered a communist and was put on trials for having left leaning, liberal views/just being a plain weird artist (I think he was also gay coded?), and he says how he mocked the question and the absurdity of the whole situation in particular and McCarthyism in general, which ultimately blacklists him from work and makes him die alone and without money, so Reed Fucking Richards of course said that the moral of that story is that “My uncle was wrong, If there is a law that might seem unjust, you shouldn’t be down to clown but you should just shut your mouth and keep going.”
The Fucker.
6C- Hank Pym starts a fucking child soldiers conscription program. Teen Superheroes discovered by shield will be captured and separated from their families, Identical Robotic Decoys put in their place to prevent the families from finding out, and will be conscripted into the registration program as child soldiers.
They will be given a usa army approved regiment of training, and will be soon deployed on real, life or death missions, either involving the capture of rogue superheroes or fighting “enemy” forces such as AIM or HYDRA, what the government seems more fit to fight at the time.
The Kids, for ages seemed to vary from 15 to 19, will be trained and encouraged to kill, especially if faced with faceless hydra goons as they blast down their aircraft in a dog fight in the skies. This will of course scar and traumatize the, again, 15 years old government sanctioned child FUCKING soldiers, but not as much as the alternative to this.
For, as it is shown, failure to comply with orders, as well as emotional instability due to being, you know, a 16 years old girl in stressful situations such as, you know, a guy turning into a giant spider in front of you, will cause the government to “terminate” your employment under them, which will result in them forcibly taking away your powers, most of whom you were born with, with invasive, unwilling, non sedated surgery on you, as it happens to a girl whose arm is a literal magic gun who had her, you know, magic arm cut off after she accidentally misfired and kills another of the kids watching from the, you know, not that safe watching room not even a glass mirror away from the training room.
No wonder the girl whose superpower is literally just “can make pretty clouds with her mind” is so eager to kill as many people the government as her to after being conscripted while she was just flying around on her cloud and has to witness... you know, all of this shit.
6C- Maria Hill, Director of Shield and, again, not a fucking Skrull Chaos Agent, starts hunting down unregistered superheroes. Any superhero that didn’t sign up the registration list at least on the exact midnight of the day the law is made law, will be hunted down and forcibly imprisoned without a due process.
This happens to Luke Cage, who, again, on the exact midnight the law is enforced, not a minute more, had his apartment swarmed up with cops in tactical gear ready to “arrest him” despite him doing nothing yet, all the while shooting around the, you know, predominantly black neighbor like they are the Simpsons’ Texan guy. His wife and newborn daughter are also hunted down, the two fleeing to Canada, a safe heaven for superheroes and their families in this time of crisis, for undefended families of superheroes become leverage the registration side can use against them to make them sign up, for at some point a superhero must have revealed his identity to another superhero, another superhero that will statistically be either on the registration side snitching on you, or, you know, a Undercover Skrull Chaos Agent, if not both.
Captured heroes are shipped off to a private prison owned by Tony Stark and his goons in the Negative Zone (Think hell, but more depressing), where they will be interned without, again, any semblance of due process, and will be fucking kept in torture pod of virtual reality for the entirety of their stay. They will not be allowed any contact with the other inmates, or even to feed, relieve or just wash themselves, everything will be done by the pods, so that they will be in eternal, perfect imprisonment until they “see the error of their ways”.
Somewhat worse than the Barry Allen’s private prison in the Flash, if only by just a little.
Some brain washing was also implied to happen.
7- Cap’s Side is, of course, against all of this, yet it will be Cap’s side to lose the civil war, for , when Captain America is pummeling Tony to the ground for everything that has been going on in the middle of a devastated time square, some REAL WORLD HEROES (You know, a cop, a nurse, a fireman, and so on), tackle Steve to the ground, blame HIM for everything wrong that has happened, and ask him to stop in his futile resistance.
Statistically Speaking, at least 2 of those people were a Skrull Chaos Agents BTW.
Steve “sees the error of his ways,” surrenders to the police, is about to be given a sham process (He gets one but fucking daredevil, a lawyer, doesn’t as he’s shipped off to Tony’s Hell Prison? I guess there is a upside on getting arrested by the program in front of witnesses that you cannot all silence) until Sharon Carter shoots him on the steps to the courtroom because he was being mind controlled by a undercover hydra hypnotist that might or might have not been conscripted by the “let’s conscript supervillain scientists in the registration program, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?” thing.
8- Also Hawkeye comes back to life for a bit and is immediately almost manipulated by Tony into taking the Captain America’s role after Steve's death, except this time working for the registration side against his friends, which he ALMOST accepts because he doesn't know what the fuck is going on yet but he trusts tony until he meets Hawkeye (The girl one) and Patriot during his first mission as Registration Cap who tell him “Duuuuude, Steve’s body isn’t even cold yet, what the fuck” which makes him go “Holy shit Tony, what the fuck?” and make him decide to abandon the shield and shit and lay low for a while.
9- Oh, yeah, also this happens:
Tumblr media
(Recognize that journalist? Is the same journalist that gives Hydra Cap a interview about how inhumane Hydra was during their regime, the one he sends to the labor camps and mocks with “I’m sure you can complain about it on Twitter later.” That wasn’t just a dig at the (Justified, oh so justified) detractors of Hydra Cap on social medias, but also a dig at THIS. FUCKING. SCENE. THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY FOR ALL DAY TO COME, FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA IS OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE REAL AMERICA BECAUSE HE DOESN'T USE MY FUCKING SPACE).
10- What else what else... Oh, yeah, everyone favorite absolute monarch T’challa, King of Wakanda and Black Panther, married with X-Men’s Storm at the time, X-Man that, btw, have been pretty much neutral during this whole shitstorm due to, you know, the “genocide” they recently suffered by the hands and mystical powers of one Wanda Maximoff, both of whom have diplomatic immunity due to the, you know, status as the rulers of a hyper advanced nation who holds the cure for cancer among other things, has his wife taken hostage by the united states. They go to the united states on a joint diplomatic mission, and are promptly ambushed and kept grounded in the states, separated from each other, until at least Ororo signs the registration program, T’challa having to follow closely behind, and then they will be allowed to be let go.
Again, I can’t stress this enough, The United States try to strong arm 2 foreign rulers, one of whom a mutant, into signing up a domestic policy about domestic internal affairs of public security.
Because of course they do.
10- I think I forgot some minor shit happening like speedball’s entire arc or Wolverine’s revenge plan or the Latverian Caper, but I think the gist of WHY this bullshit would have blown up today is all here.
For you see, now, imagine all this shit all the implications, the crimes, the horrors and stuff...
Just Imagine, all this shit is going on... with a Secret Invasion of Skrull Chaos Agent coming soon to shake thing even more...
And the president of the united states, the one that, again, ultimately will decide who the REAL enemy is, where the real supervillain to fight is...
Is Donald Fucking Trump.
How long until the superhero child soldiers are tasked to guard the border I wonder...

HoXPoX Liveblog: Powers of X #2
So I’m FINALLY continuing my readthrough of HoXPoX, and I’m liveblooging it on my twitter, so I figured I’d cross-post it over here. It’s just gonna be copypastes of my tweets, though I’m also include a link to the first one above the readme for those interested in reading it over there. This starts with PoX#2, as I dont want to scroll months into the past to get the first three down :p :p :p
The Link
ok so I'm gonna FINALLY restart my HoXPoX Readthrough. It's Powers of X #2!(I've got, like, a 4th printing, so no symbolically significant cover to talk about; sorry :p)
Ok so opening quote is about the "gap" btw Xavier and Magneto. Given that the premise of the series is Moira using her memories to bring them together I predict the quote will be proven wrong, but We Shall See u_u
So we open on the X^0 period, year 1, in Moira's 10th life; the same year as Moira's meeting with Xavier at the fair. They're in the Bermuda Triangle, at Island M; Magneto's island base.
Island M is a bit of XMen lore I don't know much about; it seems to be dominated by an ancient ruin which, I'm guessing from the architecture, is Atlantean; though it'd be more in keeping with Mutant deep-lore if it were an old Deviant or Inhuman settlement.
the colors are primarily Green and Gold, so symbolically Knowledge, Power, Something New, with Magneto a deep purple and red shadow; He's representing Mutation here.
this actl raising an interesting duality btw the two I've never considered(though it's obvs and textural so I should have)? Like: Magneto exploring the Otherness of Mutanthood while Xavier explores the Humanity of it.
Ok this is such a cool visual I want to share it to discuss it: So they're side-by-side and the same height(Mags' billowing cape makes him SLIGHTLY taller, which is Hilarious) but Moira's drawn looking *up*, but she's abt to drop a bombshell on him we know; Irony, man uwu
Tumblr media
Moira: "Who decides what is truly good and what truly evil?" Mags; Of Course: "*missing no beat* idoidecidethat :|" XD XD XD
Xavier asks him to trust him, Mags takes off his helmet(his Otherness) and there, suddenly, is his Humanity(his face). The Symbolism is obvs: By Trusting them he embraces his Human-Aspect and thus his Self, through doing this he allows a Connection btw them all.
On the last page Moira talking abt her Mutation-derived knowledge is framed in orange-gold; On this one, Xavier creating a mental link between Moira, Himself, and Magneto is similarly framed; this may be a motif going forward.
I love how youthful Magneto looks after this revelation, and how alien(I'd say elven) Xavier looks after having shared it with him.
LOOK AT THIS ELVEN-ASS ELROND LOOKING MOTHERFUCKER!
Tumblr media
There's a cool thing going on with the 2nd frame of this page, where the darkness of Moira's black shirt -with grey highlights not unlike comic depictions of panther musculature- mirrors the Othering Darkness of Magneto in full-kit.
X1 Year 10 Krakoa. Xavier is reviewing plans for the Mother Mold orbiting the Sun with Cyclops(along with an ORCHIS dossier, the info Mystique, Toad, and Sabertooth stole). Look at Summers being a little sardonic, smiling Quipster-shit here ^v^
Tumblr media
Xavier believes this ORCHIS plot is the seed for Nimrod, and thus MUST be stopped(of course, we know this will, at best delay it given X2; is he lying to Cyclops abt the objective here?)
Mags: "Can it be done?" Cyclops: "Does it need to?" Xavier: "Yes" Cyclops: "Then It WILL be" Badassssss
The dominant color for these scenes is Gold, so knowledge obvsl(they're briefing him), but also safety, power, and cycles. Far from interrupting a phase in the cycle, I think this event may be initiating one.
now to X2, picking up where we left them last on Asteroid K. Hmm so this seems NOT to be Wolverine, but a descendant of him, and Apocalypse is the last surviving leader of Earth's mutants.
So it seems they stole an "indexing machine", which allow them to actl find the thing they're looking for in the archives(apprntl the sentinels archive everything). Nimrod killed the two humans who reported it to him to keep this a secret.
Ok I think the person I thought was a Groot might actl be Cypher merged with what remains of Krakoa.

hey, I've been thinking about reading the x-man comics, but I have no idea of where to begin
Hell yeah!
So there are a few good starting points really because when it comes to comic books, honestly the best thing to do is just jump right in and roll with things even if you don’t know every single thing that’s going on. But to keep things simpler I’d ask if you’re interested in starting with more current stuff, earlier in the 2000s stuff, or the classics. (Personally I’d say start with the classics, and not just because you can get whole volumes for pretty cheap on Comixology but because they are so good and pure... But if you’re having a hard time getting into the feel of the times, feel free to jump ahead to the middle. I really would recommend against going right to the current stuff, but I’ve included it just in case you really want to.)
Starting from the beginning:
1. (Uncanny) X-Men Vol 1
Controversial opinion, but the Uncanny X-Men really didn’t become The Series for me until Claremont. I love the original five (well, except Hank, he can go soak his head,) but Giant Size X-Men #1 is like, the big turning point and so if you want to start from the very beginning but aren’t enjoying it, try skipping there and see if that’s more your style.
2. The New Mutants Vol 1
Yes in my totally biased opinion The New Mutants are the best and I love this series so much. I recommend checking out New Mutants Classic Vol. 1 to test your interest.
Seriously though, even if Uncanny X-Men doesn’t turn out to be your jam, give these guys a whirl. It has Dani Moonstar so... ❤
3. X-Force Vol 1
If you like the New Mutants, you’ll probably want to continue onto X-Force. It’s like the #edgy older sibling of the New Mutants but I love it to pieces, too. There’s a brief period towards the end of The New Mutants and the beginning of X-Force where Liefeld is at the wheel, but rest assured he leaves early on and then things gets better.
Tumblr media
(At least he’s somewhat self aware...?)
4. X-Factor Vol 1
If you wanna catch up with the original five from Uncanny, here they are, except everyone is super depressed now. (Understandably.) This series has some of the most classic arcs that end up being referenced too for times to come, especially for Warren Worthington.
Starting from the middle:
1. Uncanny X-Men Vol 1
So the early 2000s was fucking WILD for X-Men, because the art got really shitty like poorly attempted anime, and we got stories that were uh, not so great... Also everyone had horrible costumes, so I guess there’s comedic value in that? Anyway, honestly? You’re not missing much from Uncanny X-Men here IMO.
So as far as how things are going for the “base” or “main” team, I suggest starting from Uncanny X-Men #444. Both the art and writing gets a much needed face-lift and yet again I gotta say bless Claremont LOL.
2. X-Factor Vol 3+1
Stepping away from your more typical superhero stuff, we instead now have a team that’s 1/2 private investigators and 1/2 your typical superhero asskickery. I’m definately not gonna claim it’s some pinnacle of brilliant writing (David has a mixed record IMO) but it’s one of my favourites to return to all the same.
Here is the thing that might be confusing, though: the place to start is X-Factor Vol 3, which has 50 issues, and then it’s continued in X-Factor Vol 1 #200. Don’t ask me why it’s like that because I have no idea.
If you want to skip on Uncanny and just read X-Factor, you can do so BTW.
3. New Mutants Vol 2 / New X-Men Vol 2
What’s this, a new generation of New Mutants? They can’t possibly live up to the originals, right? Well they don’t have to because they’re awesome in their own right and guess what I love this series a lot too.
New Mutants Vol 2 is kind of about passing the torch, seriously, the original New Mutants are adults now and mentors, and then New X-Men Vol 2 (Academy X) carries on with the new introduced characters. You can start with New X-Men Vol 2 without getting too lost, FYI, but you’ll miss out on some background information.
Starting from more modern stuff:
So, Wolverine and Cyclops went and had a big dramatic breakup, and ever since there have been a billion and ten teams. I’m really looking forward to the return of Uncanny X-Men because of this, TBH. I hope it’s a good sign. Currently there are X-Men teams of different colours, Gold, Blue, Red... But because of this, it’s kind of hard to recommend one series over the other, because honestly I’d say it mostly depends on which characters you’re most interested in. Which is why instead I’d say your two starting points here are not current but will give you an idea of where to go with current stuff.
1. Wolverine and the X-Men / Uncanny X-Men Vol 2
You can either read the events of Schism or actually read Schism first, it’s up to you. But like I said, there are now two core teams.
2. New Mutants Vol 3
Hell yeah, the original crew is back together again! Well, mostly. But the point is, they’re reunited and it feels so good.
3. Uncanny X-Men Vol 3
So if you want to skip ahead of the above and start here, you should read a summary of the events of the Avengers vs. X-Men event first.
4. Amazing X-Men
The (better) successor to Wolverine and the X-Men.
Starting from current stuff:
1. X-Men Gold
If you want to start and very quickly catch up to current releases, I would suggest starting here. I don’t recommend it, because I think you’d be doing yourself a disservice, but yeah.
2. X-Men Blue
This features the time-displaced original five X-Men.
3. X-Men Red
Jean Grey is back. This is my favourite over Gold and Red.
Finding More:
After you’ve started you’ll probably come to find you especially like certain characters. Like, lets say you especially come to fall in love with Emma Frost for example. If you want to read more with her, I recommend just googling “Emma Frost reading list” and there are lots of lovely people who put together reading recommendations for specific characters. At any point in time you can do this, because like I said, best thing to do is just jump right in!
There are SO many series that I didn’t mention because I tried to really stick to the core and most well known ones, but I hope that doesn’t discourage you from branching out! There are a lot of good X-Men series out there, and a lot of good solo ones too. Just have fun exploring stuff!
And please feel free to come back and talk to me more because I would love that! :P

Hi, I hope you’re doing well!! I was just wondering if you read comics? If so could you recommend some/ how to start getting into them? I want to start reading them, but it’s so stressful trying to figure out where to start. Also I love you blog!
Hi there! you’re all manners of sweet and kind thank u my advice abt approaching comics is going for solo runs first, this is how I, personally, did it and it’s way easier than jumping in on team books, or worse events bc they tend to be messier and need more bg info and pre-existing knowledge than a comic that focus on just the one character; I also feel it’s good to start with current or at least recent comics, you can always read the old stuff when you’re better acquainted with how comics work and which characters, artists and writers you like (or can tolerate).
actual recs under the cut because this got so long
i was gonna do a whole list of mcu characters’ solos because most people entry point to comics rn is superhero movies, and hmu if you want that, but instead I think I’m gonna rec you some good comics that are either separated enough from main marvel continuity as to be intelligible without extensive info gathering, or I just think they’re great and worth a bit of confusion (part of starting out reading comics is not knowing fully wth is going on sometimes, but stiking with it for some good art or for characters you love -I’m not gonna go so far as to say for good writing bc that’s just not realistic):
if you like yourself some spider-people:- silk (2015) and vol 2 (2016) are my absolute favorites- I’m not very much into spiderman but I read renew your vows  and it’s lovely,  it’s just not a main universe comic it’s an au where things are as, imo, they should be with ye old web slinger, and it’s good for getting your feet wet in the huge pool of spider-man comics;- I love miss jessica drew (spider-woman) but her solo is……. questionable if someone has a good jess drew intro rec pls tell me so I can pass it on, - miles morales has been written badly in more ways than one but I love him so I suffer, I can direct you without scruples only to his novel tho, absolutely lovely and not written by brian michaelbendis lmao- anya corazon is a really good character that marvel loves to forget it has, let’s not make the same mistake;- black widow 2014 and 2016 and bw: the name of the rose are all good comics (I know technically nat isn’t a spider person but like nothing about spider-woman’s powers screams ‘spider’ either so..
for wakanda I’d say good recent start-ups would be: - black panther (2016), - black panther: world of wakanda (w/ a lesbian couple as protag), - and rise of the black panther (ongoing)
some non x-men team books that are easier to approach as a beginner imho:-young avengers vol 2 (vol 1 has its moments if you want to start from the beginning with them but a lot of it involves the civil war arc and stuff.. also some characters die, the art is less good and I want to protect people from 17’s yo cassie lang’s nipples poking through her shirt.. I wish someone had protected me tbh) -I want to rec some Runaways but besides the current run (which is alright) there’s a lot to be said against the writing in most of the rest of them maybe vol 1? to have the origins pinned down-I feel like after a small read through of what exactly the hell was going on with secret wars you could approach A-Force vol 1 and the first half of vol 2 (the second half ties in with civil war II and I’m not touching that mess) and that and avenger world and sometimes secret avengers to me are good avengers books-she hulk 2014 and totally awesome hulk are my greens of choice but if you want an intro to bruce banner idont actually know, sorry-for the asgardians: thor 2014 and it’s follow up mighty thor, thor: god of thunder, angela: asgard’s assassin and its sequel angela: queen of hel, and loki: agent of asgard are my pick of this crop-we also have Fun here at marvel comics on occasion and both patsy walker aka hellcat and squirrel girl are nice in their own way although the latter isn’t really my thing
some follow up on the young avengers:- hawkeye (2013) an absolute fan favorite, good to discover that actually clint barton was a good character it’s that the avengers movies are just bad and hate people with disabilities- a couple of follow-ups to that (x) (x) and the kate bishop solo all pretty nice- america chavez’s solo (I’m just here to suggest gay comics, that’s almost all I read really)
I want to rec Champions to people but frankly it’s just a long series of event interruptions and bullshit interspersed with a couple of nice moments so far, so I’m gonna rec you some kids that are in the champions and have solos I haven’t already mentioned:- kamala khan’s book is probably my favorite ongoing series at marvel right now about any non-mutant char, I cannot say enough good about it,- nova is nice,- miles morales (spider-man) and amadeuscho (totally awesome hulk) are also there but I’ve already mentioned themalso in this house we love and respect elektranatchiosand any other attitude just isn’t tolerated.
on to the x-men, gotta love those guys, you just gotta:- like I said I prefer to tell people to start from recent comics but with the xmen that’s so difficult? it’s been 10+ bad years for them because of the movie rights situation and just marvel being shit in general, so my one recent team book to approach the x-men is prob x-men ‘92? because its based off of the xm animated series so you don’t have to straightaway deal with some mutant plague, eugenics plots, and other catastrophic events, but you can still get to know more of the char we all love - I want to say generation x vol 2, it’s not a good starting point for anything really but I love it so so much I had to mention it even tho it was cancelled and I’m still angry as hell about it.
the solo situation is better. I’m gonna be able to breathe without tasting my own bile while I type this, hurray!-all new wolverine follows laura kinney as she takes up the mantle from logan-iceman, good solid comic abt coming out and ice puns, who doesn’t like bobby really-jean grey, yes she’s a teen girl in this, yes it’s weird and I hate de-aging characters but it’s nice to see her train with different mutants, struggling with the incoming phoenix force and her adult self’s shadow, not really great entry point to jean grey but id read it anyway-if you were into the 00’s xmen movies like me, or at least a normal person’s amount the phoenix recently returned and with her adult!jean grey, it was a good book for me and good if you want to later start reading the actual phoenix saga (which is a lot of material so starting small with this might help) -I love wandamaximoff and despite what they’ve done to the maximoffs in order to bring them into the mcu (was it worth it for that result btw? really?) her recent book was good and I genuinely loved it -storm’s solo is so good, you’re gonna fall in love with an het ship and you’re not gonna regret it either-rogue and gambit, is ongoing and it’s good to get a little acquainted with these characters but mostly it’s about explorign their relationship
I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of good x-men content atm but I can’t stop thinking I need to mention that there are ongoing series you could pick up its just.. I hate them.. some started out promising (xmen gold, astonishing xmen), but they’ve not developed in good directions imo, but I still feel they should be mentioned, there’s also a weapon x comic if you want to go for a more bloody kind of book and xmen blue if you like time displaced teens or something? god its bad
jeez this is so so long and guess what? I haven’t even finished yet.. there’s some excellent indie comics out there and with those you really don’t need to worry abt knowing any 30 years old lore or anything you pick them up and they explain themselves like any other normal media out there, I know, be still my heart:
- lumberjanes is my absolute favorite, a little corny, but so much fun and cuteness and if I could go back in time I’d give it to my little bi self so she’d know she’s not alone and anything I feel that ways about has a special place i my heart js
- Motor crush, there really isn’t any other comic book with a black lesbian as protagonist out there that I can think of, good if you’re into motorcycles but if like in my case that threatens to put you to sleep, it also has a sci-fi streak and solid character work, you won’t regret giving it a try
- moonstruck, cute non-white gay werewolves and other mythological creatures are there, I feel this cathers to me specifically every time I open it?? bless
- Hi-Fi fight club or heavy vinyl (they changed the title) if you want a period piece that’s fun and cute and gay (I meant it about me reading only gay comics as you can tell)
- saga, for a space, well ya know.. saga I feel that I can describe it as romeo and juliet in space with added racial commentary except they don’t kill themselves, I have to say not my favorite but you might stick with it for the characters, I sure do
- the wicked + the divine, I feel very much the same about this as I do about saga, only this is mythology based so like.. I sold my soul to it, but please do tread with care there’s a lot of deaths in it and so many of these dead people are gays and/or poc.. I’m none too pleased about it and I’d understand anyone not wanting to pick it up, I mean the deaths are basically in the premises of the books but that doesn’t change the end result..
lastly like I said dc is not my area of expertise but I’ve been following with pleasure both batwoman and green lanterns, and mr miracle was an amazing comic so I thought I’d mention them

Well, nickelodeon just went too far. Not only they love to use stereotypes and change sizes of turtles No. Now they just did the biggest shit ever in tmnt. Idk if they read too many fanfics or they have never ever read one single original tmnt comic, but they r gonna mess up with my 2 fav turtles: They r gonna make Raph the leader They r gonna make Leo “the self-professed ‘coolest’ brother.”  Leo (mirage) is my fav because his life is training. He is the best ninja because of that and -my fav thing about him- because he doesnt give shit about humans in general. He doesnt want to be one and doesnt want to 'be normal'. Leo is an introvert leader, more than that, he could relate to autism or some other disability (that will not matter at all if you are a ninja turtle, that is, already an outcast, and i really love that is pictured as a good thing for being a leader). Nickelodeon took that away already btw. He is cold and centered, introvert but not shy at all. Can we have this on tv? Seems not. Because -let me say it- he is not a hero even if he is not self centered at all, he is a damn perfectionist ninja who cares about his family and his beliefs. And he is the best at it. That s why he is the best leader and killer. He keeps his mind focused. Now Raph is not as simple as a 'wolverine' type of man role model. Yeah, he drinks and stabs i get it. But he is fragil and emotional. He is also very attached to things and doesnt like changes. He doesnt wants to be the leader, but pushes Leo to be what he needs him to be. In mirage, the fights are about that. And is neat, because Raph has anger issues but also likes to play arround. He is the one who gives the fuel on the team, press when needed. Also he grows to develop some kind of depression, cause being an outcast affects all turtles differently, and he struggles with the team getting separated. To be honest, it horrifies me that nick made of him some kind of wolverine. For real. Raph is not that kind of jerk, and kids dont need more that kind of role model. Neither Leo is Cyclops. (Even if cyclops is awesome lol) But most important, it sounds like they cannot make a introvert leader and they just went for Raph's popularity. Its a Wolverine all over again. Just go on and kill Leo for not being the stereotype of a leader or worst, for having a 'weird behavior' (cause im pretty sure he has a disability, he reminds me of my little brother and sometimes of a better version of myself, someone i could be even if i deal with difficulty with social interaction) go on and kill him cause that would be better than this. So, i think nick just wants to sell cheap. Thats all. They dont want to try hard, so they just do lame changes that works for lazy comic books and marketing. 🖕nickelodeon. And btw, April was black. Idk if african american exactly, but she was black. Its not a new idea from nick, they probably searched for fans comments and took it back from there. At least April is black again.

The History of Author & Deadpool
Hia Awesome Adventurers! So now that Deadpool is back to his schemes in my WoW novels, I decided to post some of our old confrontations in one of my old...disgraceful Marvel Fanfics. Where the Avengers adopted a turtle called Bromine and Iron Man’s and Black Widow’s (not romantically involved) adopted daughter, Catwoman, goes off with Deadpool and Quicksilver into space. Needless to say, the best thing from this novel were the Author’s Notes. Please enjoy the weirdness.
Tumblr media
Deadpool: Look at that majestic red man on the cover of that book c,: just takes your breath away
~*~
A/N: We're almost to space!! Yay–it's been a amazing journey, and I'm sorry for all of the bumps, but it's awesome that we came this far!
Deadpool: Yeah, can we hurry this up? I'm not even in the book yet. I have other fanfics to be in, Author :/
Pietro: You mean the Spiderman fanfics you write?
Deadpool: RUN TO CANADA YOU SWINE!!!
Deadpool: Btw, you read my fanfics? :)) Thoughts?
Pietro: Disgusting. Wanda does, and if I'm being honest, it's not your best work. The Iron Man/Captain America ones are better.
Wanda: I told you, Pietro, that was from an AD.
Pietro: Yes, sister: Adolescent Dummy.
Wanda: YOU FIEND!
Pietro: I HOPE SOKOVIA FALLS ON YOUR FACE!!
Wanda: I DISOWN YOU, FORMER WOMB NEIGHBOR.
Shuri: I came to this disgraceful, medieval part of the world to complain. My brother is evil incarnate.
Wanda: ....
Wanda: I like you.
Shuri: I found the powerful witch of these medieval lands, perhaps everything outside of Wakanda isn't so bad.
Pietro: BURN THE WITCH!
Wanda: Would you like to get coffee? I have tons of black magic c;
Shuri: Of course! ;3
T'Challa: ...This cannot be good.
Deadpool: HELLO. DOES ANYBODY CARE ABOUT MY FICSSSS????

Professor X: Mr. Wilson!
Wade the Awesome: Wait, are you McAvoy or Stewart? I can't tell because you're only words.
Professor X: You are messing with time streams, Mr. Wilson. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Wade is Better Than Wolverine: Be happy I am, pal. I've seen what's in store for you. Believe me, I'm saving you emotional trauma. In two books you'll be–
Bruce Banner: Hold on...what if Bromine's near-death experience wasn't Scott's fault...IT WAS YOURS :O YOU MONSTER!
Professor X: The Avengers have a pet? Fascinating. I usually consider Beast as ours, but perhaps we should go more basic.
Wade is da Best: Yep, you're Stewart, Mr. Spock. And I do not need another animal shitting on my lawn.
Bruce Banner: ...
Professor X: ...
Wade is Peetie's Besty: What?
Bruce Banner: The word...
Wade the King of Fan-Fiction: What? Oh. You mean the new absence of these: #$%^. Yeah. Those are gone now. If you'll excuse me, I have to write my grand entrance. It's gonna be fucking amazeballs. Go be amazing, readers, and spread the revolution!

Skrull: WE WILL REIGN OVER THIS DOMAIN!!!!
Pietro: :o I did not see that coming.
Deadpool: Wait, what's a skrull? Some nerd educate me here.
Dr. Strange: A Skrull is an alien race that can morph their appearance–usually they bother the Fantastic Four. We prefer to leave it that way.
Deadpool: Thanks, magic-nerd. WE'RE TAKING YOU DOWN!!! OH, YOU WORE THE PURPLE PANTS! YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!!!!
Clint & Selina: ???
Deadpool: Be almighty and awesome readers as I save this story and slay the evil green man!!

Bruce Banner: Disgusted. Definitely disgusted.
Peter Parker: Okay, the Skrull's gone. What now?
Deadpool: Well, Tortilla chips of course. Free guacamole is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, my fellow grasshopper.
Peter Parker: I mean about the Author! She's still gone! I miss how she says be awesome :c it brightens up my day after Flash floods my locker with Coke.

Read Below for Spider-Man Review So I got last minute press passes and got to the the film. This movie is as good as GOTG2! I give it a 9. I still rank Logan as the top marvel film this year but this was really good. As for Spidey... I never dug Toby and Andrew grew on me but Tom really did a great job making me believe. - The film introduced many things from the spider-man mythology but most importantly to me is that the villain did not suck! I have always felt beyond Toby's first spider-man movie all the villains have sucked. - Keaton right off the bat (no pun intended) is a great actor and his performance was great. For the first time ever the vulture was truly menacing! I mean that character sucks in the comics but this Vulture is agile, fast and a formidable foe - Tom did a great job as Peter and we can see a fifteen year old who is excited to be a part of his heroes world but is also leaning - Yes we all know Ironman is in the movie but it was NOT an Ironman movie and that made me happy - There are plenty of Spider-Man character cameos so keep your eyes peeled! - The Secondary villains had a very small part in the film - They do explain a little bit (very little) of Peter's Origin... Nothing we haven't heard before - The spider suit is awesome and the nod to the Clone Saga suit is there and I'm happy it is. BTW Tom said he is down to do the clone saga - I feel Peter could have been more sassy as I feel Andrew's Spidey was but they did a good job in balancing it - There are 2 end credit scenes Download images at nomoremutants-com.tumblr.com Key Film Dates * Spider-Man - Homecoming: Jul 7, 2017 * Thor: Ragnarok: Nov 3, 2017 * Black Panther: Feb 16, 2018 * New Mutants: Apr 13, 2018 * The Avengers: Infinity War: May 4, 2018 * Deadpool 2: Jun 1, 2018 * Ant-Man & The Wasp: Jul 6, 2018 * Venom : Oct 5, 2018 * X-men Dark Phoenix : Nov 2, 2018 * Captain Marvel: Mar 8, 2019 * The Avengers 4: May 3, 2019 #marvelcomics #Comics #marvel #comicbooks #avengers #avengersinfinitywar #xmen #Spidermanhomecoming #captainamerica #ironman #thor #hulk #spiderman #uncannyxmen #wolverine #starlord #guardiansofthegalaxy #gotgvol2 #infinitygauntlet #Logan #X23 #oldmanlogan http://ift.tt/2sTqWXY
