Tree Gelbman is a spoiled, popular sorority college girl whose daily activities include ignoring her worried family, having an affair with her married professor, and partying until she’s too drunk to make it back to her own dorm.

Carter Davis is a shy, awkward classmate of Tree’s, and when she wakes up on her birthday in Carter’s dorm room with no memory of him bringing her there to sleep off a hangover, she is appalled.

However, when Tree is murdered that night but somehow wakes up in Carter’s room the next morning, she realizes that she has become stuck in a time loop, in which she encounters Carter, tries to avoid her murderer, but is killed anyway no matter what she does. After fruitless attempts to break the time loop, Tree begins confiding in Carter about her dilemma, and he agrees to help her find a way to survive the day and stop the loop. As Carter and Tree team up, she realizes what a mess she has made of her life so far and begins to change her ways... and to realize what a wonderful person Carter is.

While Slasher Films Aren't For Everyone, This Film Is Like Slasher Light With Very Few Bloody Scenes As The Kills That Happen In The Film Just Goes To The Next Day With No Blood Shown Whatsoever So People Like Myself Who Aren't Into Seriously Gory Films Like Saw And Hostel Will Probably Like This Film And Probably Laugh At The Film's Comedic Moments, I Love Jessica Rothe's Performance As Tree And I Really Would Like To See Her In Other Projects, I Thought That The Story Was Well Written And That Some Of The Kills Were Very Inventive, All In All, I Say See It...

Got around to seeing Happy Death Day...

And I freakin' love Tree Gelbman. I was a bit wary of her at first, going into the film, because sorority girl type so my prejudiced expectations, but she was pretty fun and three-dimensional. And even though she's done some bad things, like having an affair with a married man, she just is. And her birthday is 18 September, so she's a Virgo like me (my birthday of course is 26 August).❤ The film was overall nice and re-affirming, and Carter Davis was so cute the first time Tree kisses him, his smile... I just want to slap his stupid sweet face.😇 Carter x Tree forever.

(Also, the whole sequence where Tree keeps dying and reviving to Demi Lovato's "Confident" was freaking hilarious and where I started to fall in love with the character. Listening to the song on loop now. An enjoyable time at the movies.😊)
