Question: why can't Broadway musicals tape their performance and put it up on a platform for rental while the shows still on Broadway?
Obviously you charge a fair price for the rental, make it like 48 hours and cost maybe whatever their general admission ticket costs. Then, after the musical comes off Broadway, you make that original cast recording avaliable to buy permanently (like including downloads) for that general admission ticket price and knock down the rental price.
Now you'd have to either come up with a streaming service or license it out to one which is not ideal, but it would vastly improve the availability of musical theater especially to people who live outside of New England or people who don't have thousands of dollars to drop just to go see a musical. Not to mention it could help make newer musicals more accessible and easily spread, and don't get me started on accessibility especially when it comes to physical disabilities that would disallow travel or actually seeing a musical in person. This would also allow people to see the musical and then maybe go watch it in person, which increases revenue.
It also allows a continuous revenue stream for the creative team and possibly actors (depending on how contracts are structured), particularly in cases of musicals with specific historical or literary settings that could be used in classrooms (think Hamilton, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, the upcoming The Outsiders, or like every Shakespear play ever). Or even if a musical is really popular and gets a cult following like 30 years later, it would be available in a watchable format and not just as a soundtrack. Plus it'd get rid of people going to musicals for the sole purpose of uploading a slime tutorial.
I’m really excited for the new musical for the Outsiders, and I so desperately want to watch it. However, flying to New York… doable for me, but like do I really want to spend almost 1k dollars on not even a 3-day trip?? Not really.
So, my question, is if anyone knows if they will livestream a performance? I tried looking for it but I can’t find anything. Or, if there will be a pro shot for the public?
And I’m so desperate that I’m gonna ask, for those who are going — are y’all gonna try and b00tleg a recording? Bc I will actually fall in love with you. I just really want to watch this damn show 😭😭
“Where d’ya wanna eat after this?” Bakugou asks you after you both hop in the car. It’s a hot day, the sun damn near melting your skin from your face. It doesn’t make it any better that his stupid fancy car has leather seats that also have it out for the backs of your thighs.
You hiss a little when you sit, and he immediately reaches a hand out to help you lift your legs so they won’t get scorched. After blasting the air and letting the seats cool, do you finally rest them against the seat, Bakugou immediately reaching out to hold your hand in his own sweaty one. It makes you smile, looking over at him as he watches you, too.
“Hmm. I don’t know. Why don’t you pick something?” You muse, squeezing his hand when he cocks a brow at you. He watches you for another second before he faces the windshield, his free hand resting on the wheel as he pulls out of the parking spot.
“Why’re ya lookin’ at me like that?” He murmurs, glancing over at you, hitting the gas a little harder as he figures where he could take you out to eat at. You shrug a little, memorizing the curve of his nose and the bob of his throat and how pretty his lashes look against his skin.
“Dunno. Think I might have a crush on you, or something.” You say cheekily, giggling when the apples of his cheeks go a ruddy red and he glares over at you. It’s playful though, his shoulders hiking up slightly as he glances between you and the road.
“Shaddup.” He mutters, knocking his fingers against the pretty diamond that sits on your ring finger. “Better still have a crush on me, damnit.” You instantly burst into laughter, a cute little shit eating grin tugging up the corner of his mouth as he starts in the direction of the restaurant he took you to on your first date.

I think the reason “Ride the Cyclone and Cats are kind of the same musical” bothers me so much is because that argument almost always uses the “the Jellicle Ball is a competition and everyone who sings a song wants to be the Choice” interpretation of Cats which, while I 100% accept it as one of many valid interpretations, is a reading of the show I dislike with a passion
Magical photos taken inside the cello and other musical instruments 🤍
This musical instrument both sounds great and looks majestic. Even the word "cello" is elegant. If earlier we could appreciate only the external refinement and sound of the instrument, now there is an opportunity to marvel at its internal space.
Romanian surrealist artist and photographer Adrian Borda created a series of shots inside a vintage cello inspired by the Berlin Philharmonic's promotional images that can be found on Behance. Borda did not know how they were created, but, having begun to experiment, he achieved excellent results. Not limited to the cello, he filmed inside the guitar, double bass, saxophone and other instruments.
Light and smoke penetrating the interior of the instruments play a crucial role in these shots. See more of Adrian Borda's work on his website, Instagram and Deviant Art.
