Thoughts and Reaction to ROCKETEAR!

It's a long post, but when are these ever really short? xD Seeing Carapace first made me so excited. I've been sad we haven't had much of him in the show. And then I saw that it seemed like Ladynoir was doing pretty good as they only had Carapace helping them this time. More S2 & S3 like. So I was like cool, cool, this is great. But what the heck scientist WHY ARE YOU BRINGING TYRANNOSAURUS REX'S BACK! Obviously she's going to be something big later on, she's too nicely animated not to be back. Not to mention Bob Roth's plans. Anyone else both intrigued but also scared at what that could do later? Big upcoming plot point, I think.

I screamed awwww because this is everything. I've wanted a LB/Carapace and Marinette/Nino friendship bond in this show since season 1. This scene made me incredibly happy! I'm a huge Nino fan, for those that don't know, so you can imagine how much I love this episode. Even though sad Nino.

"Alya, everyone has to believe that you will never use the Miraculous again!" End of episode: So anyway... So what I'm seeing here is, Alya's not fond of the idea of being just a spy, not being in on the action. Even though it's Ladybug's plan. Chat Noir isn't fond of what's going on right now either, where he thinks what's going on is all Ladybug's plans. Alya makes the decision to not do what Ladybug wants and tells Nino she's still Rena Rouge. So what's Chat Noir going to do to go against her? Because that's coming up on the horizon. Despite everything being easier for Marinette since everything's not just on her shoulders now, she's still been unable to play video games with her dad, and we know how much she loves doing that. :c That's really sad she doesn't even have time for her family anymore. DJWifi over here being all adorable. "You don't love me anymore!" Me: *Chat Blanc flashbacks* Alya suggests her new content could be Chat Noir edits and Marinette's like YES DO THOSE. Then those edits helped push Nino into thinking she was into Chat. Big oops. Not gonna lie, the rewind freaked me out for a moment. Last time I saw that was Chat Blanc so I thought something big was up. But nope, it's just like that scene in Puppeteer 2. Ugh poor Nino! He knows something's bothering Alya, but she won't say what it is and her behavior's too off from how she normally is. Poor guy. x.x Grumpy Nino that Carapace doesn't get attention and then they wrote his girlfriend with Chat Noir. I remember when Alya was grumpy for a bit about Rena Rouge not getting a party to celebrate her. Movie Ladybug telling Movie Chat Noir that he's better with Movie Rena Rouge. Is this a reference to the episode in Avatar, The Ember Island Players? Getting strong vibes when Play Aang and Play Katara were like, we're just friends nothing more and it's great! Play Katara was extremely into Play Zuko. I can see why Ladybug dismissed the movie (or was it the previous one since it's been awhile? Maybe?) because Rena Rouge and Chat Noir???? The writers (of the movie) just wanted to be different because everyone can see Ladynoir, unless they're blind. Alya and Nino are Andre's favorite couple. YES THANK YOU. I mean they're not my favorite because Love Square. BUT they're my second favorite next to them. Those kids are super adorable but definitely that kid playing Chat wasn't doing Nino any favors. First picture Alya shows. Chat with a heart tail. Yeah that's not doing her any favors lol. Nino: UGH CHAT NOIR'S COMING IN BETWEEN ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND. I KNOW, I'LL CALL MY BEST FRIEND TO VENT TO ABOUT IT. Best Friend Chat Noir: Best Friend Chat Noir: Welp maybe I should see what's up. Maybe I went a little to hard on the cat charm and she's fallen in love with me. Me: Oh oof here we go. Also can I ask, if anyone knows, who animated this episode? The fluidity is great and it looks really pretty. But it doesn't quite look like SAMG's work either. Whoever did it, I love it. S2 Chat Noir: You're not replacing me with a turtle, are you? :c S4 Nino: Who would want a reckless turtle as a partner? BOYS STOP. But yeah this whole scene had me laughing so hard XD Very dramatic and I love it. Nino's hilarious even when he's worried and sad! I would've absolutely loved to have heard this in English with the old English voice of Nino, but the new one worries me on whether or not he'll do a good job sounding like Nino and less high-pitched and whiny. :/ New York Nino was great but S4 Nino....x.x THE TRANSITION BETWEEN HIS INNER MONOLOGUE AND SPEAKING REGULARLY AGAIN 😂😂😂😂 Brilliant! It doesn't really feel like Miraculous Ladybug this episode, and I love it. Not that I don't love the show as usual but wow this is great. Okay, I want to point out that Chat Noir

probably was more worried about it than he would've been otherwise because of what happened with Marinette in Weredad. It probably made him more cautious about this sort of thing.

LOL Chat's sulking because Alya's laughing at the idea of being interested in him. 😂😂 I know that's a blow to one's ego and all, and he's dealt with this kind of thing a lot so I do feel bad for him, but that is his best friend's girlfriend and he definitely doesn't want her to like him. Alya: With him it's not just ❤️it's *makes massive hand gesture indicating she loves him deeply* SO SO SO CUTE OKAY ALL THIS DJWIFI 😭 Alya: And I don't even know your secret identity! I would never fall in love with someone I don't know. Chat Noir, literally fell in love with Ladybug, whose identity he doesn't know. Well Alya, I wonder if you saying that matters for later somehow.... o.O Nino running away crying is honestly one of the things that hurts me most in the entire show. Ugh. Adrien over here being all, I'm having a good day. I'm happy and smiling and it's great. And then it wasn't. Adrien, if Nino let him and didn't interrupt, would've told him about how Alya really doesn't love Chat Noir, and that would've seriously led up to his identity being exposed since Nino was watching and filmed them. o.o Did you notice how he was going to tell him about it? S4, the basement is where it's at. Adrien: Uhh, when did you arrange all this? Nino: *pounds fist on desk* I ASK THE QUESTIONS! 😂 So like. Why is Nino interrogating Adrien when he's after Chat Noir? He doesn't know they're the same person. XD He's looking at him like Adrien has info he's keeping or something omg.

Also again this animation is so nice. Adrien, feeling uncomfortable and so turns the music off. Nino, wanting his dramatic music on while he interrogates Adrien, turns it back on. Adrien, feeling even more irritated and uncomfortable, wants the music OFF and turns it off. Nino, turns the music back on. This may be a reference to something, I don't know, but lolol it's so funny. This episode is both super hilarious and super angsty! Honestly they've done such a good job in my opinion. Nino: I'm talking about something that I shouldn't tell you! ...but I'm going to tell you anyway! Alya's Rena Rouge and I'm Carapace! Okay but the way Adrien went from shock to utter anger, knocked his chair back and grabbed Nino's shoulders like "Tell me the truth. You two know about each other?" Aw man, my poor sunshine boy. A lot of the stuff bothering Adrien is all circumstantial, none of it is to purposefully keep him in the dark. And yet from his perspective, that's how it looks. "I thought secret identities must be protected at all times! If that was the truth, you would never tell me this!" Alright so three things. If he's referring to him saying that Nino and Alya know about each other, that was situational and important info for him to know now that this is out. It wasn't important to know before this. The time it happened was dire and was really no time to get around it. If he's talking about Nino telling him the secrets, well yeah that's not supposed to happen and Nino broke that trust. But also, I get the feeling pretty strongly at this point Adrien's going to be breaking some rules too and one of which is he's going to tell Nino who he is. Adrien's being too emotional in this scene to not be involved in it all, I'm wondering if that's going to be questioned later by Nino. He's acting like he knows too much to be a random viewer of the heroes like the rest of Paris. Also Adrien's best friend just totally dissed Chat Noir and went off about how he throws himself at Ladybug whenever he sees her with roses and love confessions. 😂😂😂 This is just too funny! "But he's always rejected because Ladybug finds him annoying! And she's completely right!" Omg Nino, that's not the reason anymore, shush! "And then Rena Rouge appears and he goes *tickles under Adrien's chin* hey pretty lady! You look elegant and you have great perfume." OMG does Chat Noir actually say and do stuff like that to Rena Rouge or is he just exaggerating here XD "If I could I would shut his mouth forever!" Yeah Nino, say what you really think about your best friend in the entire world. Yikes poor Adrien though. I never imagined he'd hear all these bad things about himself from his best friend directly like that. :/ That's a major misunderstanding of him. Which kind of pushes me more towards the "he's going to tell Nino" theory. Sad Adrien transformation DDDX Alya: *explained everything about why Chat Noir went over to her house in the middle of the night* Marinette *facepalm* Ugh that Chat Noir... Well at least there will be no misunderstandings there! xD "Chat Noir, you stole Alya from me! I will steal your life from you." Good lord man calm down. You can't just kill a man! Fanon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Marinette. Canon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Alya. Time to go back to the basement! lol Nino's music's still playing xD And the video is left with it paused on Chat Noir hugging Alya. Marinette looked a bit sad, but it was probably more about the situation being a mess rather than being sad he'd hug her. Meanwhile, Chat Noir's fighting Nino and would rather get beaten up by him than fight. x.x "I can't believe that I doubted you." "I can't believe I chose to do anything but be with you!" She wiped away akumatized Nino's tear just like how Ladybug wiped away akumatized Chat Noir's. ALL THE PARALLELS 😭😭😭 But that hug is so sweet!! Nino broke off the akumatization just like Alya did :o Dang, I wonder if that means something later too. "Love and secrets do not go well together, Ladybug. And I'm sure you have a lot of

them!" Secrets = from Chat Noir. Love = for Chat Noir. Yeah even Shadow Moth knows at this point. xP Thanks for that foreshadowing. Nino's charm is my favorite charm so far! It's my favorite shade of blue. Chat Noir: Everybody has doubts sometimes...even me." Ladybug: Is everything okay, Chat Noir? Chat: Oh yes...pound it!

So um. The placemet of Adrien's poster in between Chat Noir, Ladybug, and just with this entire situation feels very strange. Very intentional. But no clue exactly what that could mean..... Nino and Alya are happy over there watching those two, like they're waiting for them to figure things out or something. But really, Adrien should've talked to Ladybug when he could still do so calmly and be reasonable. I doubt that's going to be the case later on. And honestly Ladybug doesn't even know what's going on. Every episode we've seen really either has them working together or she's unable to be Ladybug when he's unable to be Chat Noir most of the time. I've said it before but these two really need to communicate. Nino and Alya are like a less adorably romantic version of what they'd be. "But they're a couple and they know their secret identities, so why does that rule exist for us but they can know?" Very simple. Because they were temporary holders and the Miraculous they had, Hawk Moth hasn't made it his life's mission to obtain, unlike them, who are permanent holders and Hawk Moth's been after them fiercely to make a Wish that could destroy everything. But. The fact he's asking this, and Marinette's Chat Blanc nightmare, really points in the direction that he's going to eventually find out that while she's thought about telling him all along, Chat Blanc's kept her from doing so.

Okay, so while it looks like he's staring up at the moon, if you notice, it really is just one of the pink bubbles.

Now, they could be making it seem like it's the moon though to give it a double meaning. But poor Kitty, he's feeling so awful right now over in that dark corner Dx Nino felt bad for only two episodes? and it got resolved, so hopefully this all won't last too much longer for him! Marinette had a few shaky episodes so hopefully he'll have a few before it gets resolved. But somehow I think that may be wishful thinking. This episode was so amazing, honestly. Wonderful writing, made me laugh a lot, aw a lot, and hurt a lot. It focused on the core 4 characters which I've wanted more of for a long time. The animation was beautiful. And it just felt so different in such a good way. Chat Noir's having a hard time right now, and I know there's a lot of anger and hate about it going around. But please, think of this as him hitting a rough spot in the road to a much better and brighter future. He's going to end up okay, he'll understand it all someday. And that day's honestly not that far for him if you think about it.

(I'm so sorry I took so long, there's no excuse but I promise I won't take that long again. I usually try to be fast with asks. Well, here it is.)

17. What’s your favorite AU?

Ahhhh, this was a hard question because I don’t really think about AUs a lot, canonverse really has everything I need. I think these days I like AUs where Adrien and Marinette are still Ladybug and Chat Noir, but haven’t met as civilians. I adore the Love Square, but fanworks where this is depicted are so fun. Especially post-Hawkmoth defeat, since Marinette would have to work through the fact that Adrien is Hawkmoth’s son. I love that. Kinda like The Bakery Enemies AU or this fic.

I also began to enjoy, more recently, universe fusions with other shows I like (I’m lowkey planning a fic around this Bleach AU and I have the vague foundations of a My Hero Academia AU). Ah, and AUs where the main duo has different miraculous or it’s not even them (maybe because I think about permanent miraculous holders Pigella and Tigress Pourpree a little too much for someone that doesn’t want any permanent hero other than LB and CN).

28. What’s your favorite scene?

Nothing has ever beaten the punch that The Umbrella Scene gave back in 2016. The music lives in my mind rent-free (as I type this I can hear the piano playing), Adrien opening up for what was maybe the first time was welcome back then and would be welcome now too, actually. Their dialogue was so sweet, the umbrella closing down on her, their laughter, Tikki and Plagg’s teasing. Adrinette invented love.

By this point, the only scene that could possibly steal this spot is Adrien and Marinette having a conversation post-reveal where they can be honest with each other.

37. How do you feel about Lukanette?

You asked this on purpose, you knew I’m always down to rant about Lukanette. I was thinking that my problem with this ship is that it’s really boring, like Luka was until season 4 and then it hit me: maybe I’m projecting my feeling for Luka into Lukanette? I couldn’t remember many moments about them (they all ended up a mashed pile of Luka stringing him guitar with a “you feel like this”). There must be a reason people like them so much! So I googled “Lukanette scenes” and watched this ten-minute video (and read the comments bashing Adrien, thanks ML youtube) and… Nothing.

I was right, Lukanette is boring. Sure, part is because I don’t really care about Luka. His character was all about Marinette from his introduction to his akumatizations, it was obvious he was introduced just to be the love interest. Not even Juleka’s older brother, but Marinette’s love interest (until recently in, like, Crocoduel and Wishmaker). It’s a far cry from Kagami, whose first episode set her up as a character outside of Adrien and the following episodes made sure the audience and Marinette knew that. Sure, sometimes she fell back into the role of love interest and that was fine, I had Kagami moments outside of that where I felt like I understood her as a person. I didn’t have that with Luka at all.

Also, I just think his interactions with Marinette just don’t do anything for me at all. There’s no chemistry there, in my opinion (maybe just the Lies’ scene in the movie, I liked that). I don’t like how Luka is set up as a cardboard cut-out of the perfect boyfriend, he’s always assuring her that he’ll always be there for her and that he doesn’t care if she gets with Adrien instead of him, which is just plain weird to me. He was presented as a love interest right away and his friendship with Marinette isn’t developed at all, so him encouraging her to be with another guy strikes me as Luka not caring all that much.

In contrast, we have Kagami (I know this isn’t about her, but she is my beloved and the comparisons are relevant here). She says she likes Adrien and that she’s going after him, she won’t hesitate. Even after her and Marinette become friends and are after the same boy, they don’t fight about it and that’s cool. However, when Kagami tells Marinette she shouldn’t hesitate or Adrien will be out of her grasp, it feels organic because not only is Marinette her friend, but she believes Adrien is in love with her. She isn’t going to sit around, though, she wants Adrien and she’s not going to talk him into being with another girl. It feels real and way more genuine. Even when she says she’ll wait for Adrien, she’s clear about what she wants:

Kagami (in Frozer): The day you realize you’ve got the wrong target, I’ll be here. (She kisses his cheek)

(Just wanted to add that yeah, Luka and Kagami have different personalities and that I don’t mind him not being assertive. It’s just that in the context, it’s iffy and not charming at all.)

I’m not gonna say the writing for Kagami is perfect, far from it, but it’s much better than Luka’s, which makes her and Adrigami interesting elements to the story. It used to baffle me that Kagami got hate while Luka was loved by a large amount of fans, but it’s just that she got a personality, flaws and all, and Luka didn’t. It’s much easier to hate the character you can’t project on (I’m not saying it’s just that, of course, there’s always other stuff). Adrien and Kagami were on friendly terms first, so when we got them as a love interest, it felt organic. Luka was introduced as a love interest and stayed there.

On Marinette’s side, there isn’t much to say. He was always playing second fiddle to Adrien in her heart and even he knew that. It’s hard to want her to be with Luka when she’s so hung up on someone else.

Can I Steal You for a Second? CH22

Summary: Adrien is forced to participate in a new dating show, but becomes more excited when Ladybug says she’ll participate as her civilian self.

AKA: AU where Adrien doesn’t know Marinette, the superheroes are 22 and Gabriel is mean and ruthless but not Hawkmoth.

Chapter 22

Marinette didn’t wake up until late the next day, a combination of the date, plus the task, as well as the conversation with Lila.

As soon as Lila left, Marinette collapsed on the bed, while Tikki paced above her, ranting and saying horribly mean things about Lila that made Marinette feel a little better. She wanted to go find Adrien right then and tell him what happened, but Tikki convinced her that it would be really suspicious if she left the mansion again, even as Ladybug, and that she needed to sleep after the long day and night she had gone through.

Lunch was a quiet affair, all of the girls that didn’t have roses were freaking out about the cocktail party and rose ceremony tomorrow, and Marinette did her best to distract Hanna and Juliette. The day was slow and after the group helped each other pick out dresses, everyone pretty much kept to themselves. For some reason, this rose ceremony and cocktail party felt different. Marinette didn’t know if it was because there were less girls or because they had all grown super close throughout their five weeks at the house.

Marinette tried to think about what it would be like if Hanna, Juliette, Lucie, or even Sasha or Alice left this week, and her heart broke a little at the thought. By the time dinner time came around, all of the girls had gathered in the living room, sizing up the number and processing who could be leaving this week and who would be staying. Lucie broke the silence by sharing a memory from the first week in the mansion, and Marinette joined in by sharing of their pillow fort and pool party night. Everyone (except Lila) joined in and within half an hour the girls were all crying and laughing and hugging each other, writing down phone numbers and addresses and promising to meet up with each other once the show was over.

Marinette knew in the back of her mind that most of these girls would be here with her next week, but it still felt as though tomorrow they would be saying goodbye to too many of them. Marinette fell into bed exhausted, with a pit of butterflies in her stomach, not for her future at the mansion, but for these girls who had become as close as sisters.

Marinette woke up late, as usual, and dressed in record time. She made it just in time for lunch, and they were informed by the producers setting up all of their equipment that the cocktail party would just be a normal one, which meant that Adrien would be arriving right before sunset and the girls were expected in formal wear like normal.

Marinette tried not to let herself get excited about the cocktail party, since she knew that she wasn’t allowed to talk with Adrien at all, thanks to Lila. Marinette put on a happy face and pretended like nothing was wrong, which thankfully fooled everyone.

As Marinette was doing her hair for the evening, Lila slinked into the bathroom Hanna, Juliette, and Marinette were sharing to get ready. Juliette was about to snap something at her, but Marinette quickly excused herself from the room and followed Lila down the hallway.

“How can I help you?” Marinette asked once they were out of earshot of the bathroom, making sure there was plenty of malice in her voice.

“I just wanted to make sure that you’re clear on what you’re expected to do tonight.” Lila announced, crossing her arms over her chest with a sneer on her face.

“Unless you’ve changed the game plan on me, I’m going to avoid talking with Adrien all night without any explanation and allow you to chat with him in my stead.”

Lila broke into an evil grin. “Perfect, glad we’re clear. I’ll be following you closely tonight to make sure you don’t tell anyone, and that way I can grab all the time with Adrien that I want.”

Marinette rolled her eyes and took that as her clue to leave. She had her hand on the door knob to the bathroom when Lila called out, “Thanks for your cooperation,” loud enough for Hanna and Juliette to hear.

Once inside the bathroom, Juliette was the one who jumped on the mysterious appearance of Lila that caused Marinette to disappear mysteriously. “What’s with the secrecy?”

“I wish I could tell you, but I can’t right now.” Marinette answered sadly, causing both Hanna and Juliette to look alarmed. “You’re just going to have to trust me on this, but I promise I’ll tell you when I can,” When I’m forcibly kicked off the show by either Gabriel or Lila.

Thankfully, both girls dropped it and they finished getting ready. When it was time for the cocktail party to start, they were all gathered in the Date Card Room, when Chris Harrison walked in.

He gave them all a reassuring smile before saying, “Good evening, ladies. You are all looking lovely tonight. Adrien is right behind me, and he is excited to see all of you.” He paused and scanned the gathered girls once more. “How are you guys feeling about tonight?”

A handful of girls answered, but Marinette avoided eye contact. Since she had a rose, no one would be looking at her tonight and she was hoping to keep it that way, so her avoiding of Adrien would be less obvious. Once the girls were finished answering, Chris smiled at them once again, “Well, good luck tonight ladies, I’ll see you later tonight.” He then stepped back into the shadows and disappeared as Adrien walked through the doorway.

He looked dashing, as usual. Tonight, he was wearing a black suit coat, with a dark pink dress shirt and a dark blue tie. His pocket square matched his shirt and the dark colors made his hair and eyes look brighter and more alive. Adrien’s eyes scanned the room and came to rest on Marinette. There was a certain gleam in them that hadn’t been in there at last week’s rose ceremony. Marinette was struck by how much had happened since the last rose ceremony that dropped them down to their Top 10. Adrien now knew that she was Ladybug, and they had proved that they can still work together as a team, even though they now interacted with each other outside of the masks. Adrien had declared that he loved her, privately and Marinette had done the same. The world didn’t know where they were at with their relationship, but both of them (and their kwamis) knew that Adrien saw Marinette as the end game, which gave Marinette goosebumps to just think about.

“Hello, ladies,” Adrien started, peeling his eyes off of Marinette. She had chosen her most boring outfit for tonight, an all-black pantsuit that had a V cut with very little cleavage showing and the only redeeming factor being the cute cut-outs on the waist that showed off Marinette’s well-toned abs (thanks Ladybug) and gave Marinette the ghost of some curves. Marinette thought it was bland compared to the dresses of the other girls, but apparently Adrien did not agree. “I’m excited to be here tonight and I can’t wait to spend more time with each one of you,” Adrien’s eyes lingered on Marinette once more before he turned to Kagami and whisked her away to one of the talking spots the producers set-up outside.

As soon as Adrien left the room, the girls relaxed into a more comfortable moment, everyone breaking off to talk with others about various things. Marinette got up to grab a handful of drinks for everyone who was sitting around her, just to keep herself occupied for what was setting up to be the longest cocktail party ever.

Once she was alone, Tikki flitted out from her hiding space, this time accompanied by a small black figure, who Marinette recognized immediately.

“How’d you get away?” Marinette asked in lieu of a greeting. Plagg landed on Marinette’s outstretched palm and was rewarded by Marinette gently scratching him behind the ears.

“Oh easily.” Plagg said with a small purr. “He thinks I’m in his pocket, but it’s really an extra pocket square that I stole from his drawer before we left the hotel. He won’t notice for another hour or so, so I figured I’d come hang with my Sugarcube until then.” Tikki rolled her eyes, but seemed overjoyed that Plagg had chosen to visit her tonight.

Tikki shifted her focus from Plagg to Marinette, and her face grew worried. “Are you still going through with Lila’s plan tonight?” Plagg’s ears perked up in response, but he didn’t say anything.

Marinette sighed before answering, “I don’t really have much of a choice. If she announces that I’ve been seeing Adrien outside of my allotted time on the show, it could mean serious repercussions for both me and Adrien and I have to do everything in my power to protect him.”

At the mention of his chosen, Plagg flew out of Marinette’s hand and flew to her eye level. “Explain everything.”

So, Marinette did. When she was finished explaining what Lila had seen and what she was forcing Marinette to do for her remaining time on the show, Plagg was shaking with fury. “You just say the word, LB and I will cataclysm her to nothingness.”

Tikki’s squeak of, “PLAGG!” was lost in Marinette’s laughter. “That won’t be necessary Plagg, but I appreciate the offer.” She gave him a little under the chin scratch and watched as both Plagg and Tikki disappeared into the rafters. Marinette had heard the footsteps too, and quickly gathered up all of the drinks and carried them into the Date Card Room, where everyone was waiting for her.

The night dragged on and Marinette watched as every one of her friends got up and cut in to steal time with Adrien. Whenever someone brought up that Marinette hadn’t gone yet, she brushed them off and claimed that since she had a rose she didn’t want to take time away from the other girls. That answer was easily accepted and Marinette found herself entertained by watching Plagg and Tikki interact in the rafters above the party.

Their relationship was sweet and as much as Tikki complained about Plagg and his impulsive and sometimes lazy behavior, it was clear that she really cared for him. They had known each other for such a long time and yet were separated for 7 years while her and Adrien hadn’t known each other’s identities and for who knows how many more before she became Ladybug.

Marinette’s gaze was torn away from the kwamis as Juliette plopped down on the couch next to her. She had a half empty drink in her hand, and from the smell of her, it seemed that she decided to deal with not having a rose yet by drinking a little more than she normally did. Thankfully, when she spoke she seemed pretty coherent.

“You know, I think almost every other girl has had ample amounts of time with Adrien. You need to go and get yours in before the rose ceremony happens soon.” Marinette gave a noncommittal shrug and Juliette’s eyebrows shot up into her hairline. She leaned close and lowered her voice low enough that none of the surrounding cameras could pick up specific words. “What does that mean? Did something happen between you and Adrien on your one-on-one that you haven’t told us about?”

Marinette gave a small smile and whispered back, “I promise that it’s got nothing to with Adrien. Our one-on-one was perfect, I promise, I just don’t want to take away time from the other girls that don’t have roses right now. I feel like I don’t need the time because we had such a wonderful date. Does that make sense?”

“In a very strange way it slightly makes sense, but I wouldn’t be that noble,” Juliette said at her regular volume with a scoff. Marinette gave another noncommittal shrug before noticing that all of the girls were being herded into the Date Card Room, which meant that the Rose Ceremony was coming. Adrien was with the girls as they entered and immediately caught eyes with Marinette. He slightly tilted his head, the unasked question hanging in the air between them. She gave him a small shake of her head before pointing toward the ceiling, where their kwamis were still playing, distracted enough that Plagg didn’t notice Adrien entering the room. Adrien’s face blanched as he saw his kwami, who he thought was in his pocket, on the ceiling. Plagg chose that moment to look down and noticed Adrien staring. He quickly flitted through the girls and zoomed into Adrien’s pocket, Adrien’s eyes following Plagg the whole way. Adrien looked up incredulously at Marinette, who gave a small laugh and a playful shrug.

At that moment, Chris Harrison walked into the room and all of the talking ceased as he clinked a spoon onto his glass. “It is time for another Rose Ceremony. Adrien, if you would come join me.” Adrien smiled at Chris and stood up from his spot on the couch. He walked towards the front of the gathered girls and turned to address them.

“I am so grateful that I was able to spend more time with all of you this evening. I love how strong our relationships have grown, even in this past week. Please know that this will not be an easy decision for me tonight, and that I will be putting a lot of thought into who I will be taking into the next week.” And with that, Adrien walked out of the room.

Adrien was outside of the Rose Ceremony room, waiting for the girls to be lined up so he could go inside and get this over with. Adrien couldn’t figure out why Marinette ignored him all night. None of the producers seemed too worried that she hadn’t talked with him and he accounted that to all of the footage they got together from their one-on-one. Marinette didn’t seem too bothered by not getting to see him, but she did seem a little down once everyone gathered in the room for the end of the cocktail party. But, she cleverly distracted Adrien with the sight of Plagg on the ceiling (he was going to have THAT conversation later) and Adrien forgot/didn’t have the time to ask her what was bothering her.

He watched as the 10 remaining girls walked into the room and lined up, waiting for Adrien to walk in and ruin two girls’ nights. Marinette was one of the last to walk in, positioned in front of Lucie and next to Lila, the three who had received roses from him throughout the week. Marinette still looked slightly distressed, but he was pretty sure he was the only one who would have noticed. She had the look that Ladybug has when she feels as though the villain has a leg-up on the two of them and she can’t see a way out of the problem. Normally that’s when he steps in and gets her back on track, but he couldn’t do that from afar tonight, which meant that he’d have to wait until Sunday night at their patrol.

Mini-Natalie gave Adrien a look that meant that he needed to walk into that room and begin the rose ceremony. He walked up to the podium where five roses sat waiting for him, each of them with an assigned name in his head. He looked up and scanned the small group in front of him and took a deep breath before beginning his pre-scripted speech, “I know I’ve already said this once tonight, but I really need you to know that this was a hard decision. I really hate to see any of you go home tonight, but this needs to happen for me to find my future wife.” He knew that he had already found her and unconsciously made eye contact with Marinette. They shared a small moment before he cleared his throat and addressed the group as a whole once again, “Please don’t take it personally,” he pleaded as he picked up the first rose. He paused the allotted time he was required to before saying, “Hanna.”

One of his favorite parts of Rose Ceremonies was watching the other girls react to the names that he called, especially since he knew who was staying and who was leaving. It usually made him laugh a little, seeing how they all react to each other, but Marinette was always so excited to see her friends stay, even when she didn’t have a rose. As Hanna walked towards him, Adrien noticed Juliette and Marinette exchange an excited smile before Hanna was in front of him. He smiled, as he felt Plagg’s excitement at being so close to Camembert girl. “Hanna, will you accept this rose?”

She gave him a sweet smile and a whispered, “Yes!” before giving him a hug and walking back to join the other girls. This pattern continued as he called other names, Camille, Sasha, and Juliette.

When there was only one rose left, Chris stepped out from the shadows and announced, “Ladies, Adrien, this is the final rose tonight.” Chris turned towards Adrien and gave him a small pat on the shoulder, “When you’re ready.”

Adrien stared at the last rose and was afraid to pick it up. He looked up at the girls, surveying who was left. Kagami, Alice, and Zoe. Zoe and Alice were looking nervous and the various girls around them had grabbed their hands in support. Kagami, who was on the end, stood stoically, completely unaware that she didn’t have a rose and that there was a possibility that she wouldn’t get one. Her composure was shocking, something even Marinette hadn’t been able to do when she was the last rose a couple of weeks back. Kagami looked like someone who wouldn’t take no for an answer. That thought made his heart swell a little and he realized how much he valued her friendship.

He finally picked up the rose, and took another deep breath, stalling for more time since he knew he was required to build the tension. Kagami had been a surprise. If he wouldn’t have found out that Marinette was Ladybug, he would have been curious about growing his relationship with Kagami, because she seemed like someone who would be a great friend. She had a mother that hovered very similarly to his father and he knew that she felt his pain and sympathized with him. He just hoped that she would remain his friend even after Marinette won.

“Kagami,” he said after a beat. She walked briskly to him, and once she was stopped in front of him he asked, “Kagami will you accept this rose?” She gave him a nod and bowed before him, like she had done every Rose Ceremony. He smiled and bowed back before straightening up to face the two girls going home. Alice seemed to be better composed than Zoe, but Chris still stepped out of the shadows once more and addressed the two of them.

“Zoe, Alice, I’m sorry. Take a moment to say your goodbyes.” The other girls swarmed the two that were leaving, hugging them and reassuring them. This was Adrien’s least favorite part of the rose ceremonies. He needed to walk the girls out and make sure they understood his reasoning so they wouldn’t become akumatized. He walked both girls out to the car one by one, and each one took the goodbye very well. Zoe almost seemed relieved and Alice was as understanding as ever. These girls were nice and he hated to hurt them, but now that he knew who his lady was, there were only formalities standing between him and the happy ending he dreamed of.

After putting Alice in the car that would take her home, he walked back into the Rose Ceremony room, where once again he was given a flute of champagne and asked to give a toast to the remaining eight girls. “Ladies, I’m looking forward to continuing this amazing journey with all of you. I know my future wife is in this room,” Another short glance Marinette’s way which caused a slight blush to form on her cheeks. Seeing that blush caused him a sense of satisfaction knowing that he was the one to make that blush appear. He cleared his throat and finished his statement, “And I’m looking forward to finding her. Let’s make this next week as amazing as this past one.”

There was a collective amount of cheers and they all clinked their glasses together and drank. Adrien tried to catch Marinette’s eye, but she was ignoring him, probably from the blush he had caused earlier. Much sooner than normal, he was swept away and forced to head back to his hotel room, where he quickly changed and fell asleep.

Ladybug fidgeted while she waited for Chat to show up. She hadn’t decided if she was going to tell him about what Lila was making her do. She was going to let Chat lead the conversation and if it came up, tell the truth.

Chat showed up a couple of minutes late, carrying a bouquet of flowers. He gave her a cheesy grin before dramatically offering the flowers to her. “For you, Milady.”

Ladybug gave a little laugh and took the flowers, smelling them and appreciating the colors he had picked out. “Why thank you, Chaton, but what is the occasion?”

He took her hand, led her to the end of the building and sat them down, their feet dangling over the edge of the roof. “Why do I need an occasion?” he asked with a smirk on his face. Ladybug leveled him a look, which caused him to chuckle before giving an actual explanation. “Today would have been the day you revealed your identity to me, and I felt as though it needed to be honored with flowers.” He gave her another cheesy grin and Ladybug felt herself blush slightly under his gaze. It was a weird feeling knowing that he knew who she was underneath the disguise. She felt as though they had grown as people as their relationship began to grow, even when Chat had no idea who she was. She was kind of excited for their next akuma fight, she wanted to see the new duo in action.

“Of course, you should have brought a gift to me too, because I was smart enough to put the pieces together,” Chat said with his signature Cheshire grin.

Ladybug rolled her eyes and gave him a slight push. No matter how much she thought they had grown, he was still her silly kitty through and through. “Actually, I think it took you a little too long to figure it out. I made it very easy for you and you ignored all of the signs.”

Chat had the audacity to look hurt, but he quickly got over it. “Yeah, okay, I did ignore a lot of signs, but that’s because I didn’t want to get my hopes up that you and Marinette were one in the same.” That caused Ladybug to blush once again, and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, kissing the top of her head as he did.

Oh man, she loved this cat.

“So, is there a particular reason that you didn’t talk with me at the cocktail party yesterday?” Ladybug sat up abruptly, not expecting the conversation to take this turn this quickly. “I heard the rumors, but I wanted to hear it from you.”

Ladybug paused, frantically trying to scramble together what she was going to say. She hastily looked around, and once confirming that there was no way that Lila could have followed her or know that she’s Ladybug, she quickly recounted all that had happened the night after the test, just as she had done with Plagg the night before.

“You’re kidding me,” Chat Noir said after she was finished. All Ladybug could do was nod. Chat stood up and started pacing, talking faster and faster as he went along, “At least she doesn’t know our identities, but what she found out is almost worse. The producers would be outraged and the girls would turn on both you and me, which isn’t a big deal to me, but I know you value them as your friends, and that would give my Father the perfect reason to kick you off without my opinion mattering and then I’ll have to marry Lucie and then I won’t be able to marry you and—”

Ladybug grabbed his arm, stopping his pacing and his rant, “Chat, calm down, I won’t let that happen.”

“I told you what my Father said, Lila is a dangerous person to have as an enemy. You can’t manipulate her out of this.”

That comment brought Ladybug up short. What he said was very true, but he was missing the biggest piece of the puzzle right now, something that she hadn’t realized until just now.

“I may not be able to, but you can.”

Beauty Guru! Adrien

Haha I was reading a fic and the thought of Adrien getting PR packages spiraled to this, enjoy:

Adrien was 13 when the package came. He just started modeling for Gabriel and already became a sensation

And with great fame comes great responsibility

Aka PR packages

At first he was shocked but excited

I mean cmon free stuff that was personally addressed to you with the hopes that you will like it and talk about it?

It was a collection of makeup from an indie brand based in Paris who were hoping he would give them a shout-out

Now because I decreed it so Emilie isn’t gone yet

She is the one who brought the package- giggling like a schoolgirl because she is

The fun parent ™️

He and his mother end up playing and experimenting with the makeup all night, having a blast.

They get a couple of goofy videos and pictures of them with it and post it to twitter thanking the brand for the package and they enjoyed it a lot

One of the videos was Emilie talking about the quality and how it was really good while Adrien is putting on the makeup with the cutest “cinnaroll is concentrating, tongue stick out mood activated”™️

Video goes viral, the indie brand goes viral, then more and more packages come in

Slowly Adrien grows as a makeup gradually learning more

He watches a lot of videos on hair, skin, makeup, lifestyle, and health to grow his skills

The next summer was spent at various camps learning makeup and hair

Gabriel thought this would lead to more interest in the brand and let him follow around and intern with the beauty crew

He is actually a lot more into modeling because of it, and is more interested in his health too.

Adrien asked his dietician if a few changes could be made and the next thing he knew foods to benefit his skin and hair were added in his diet

He eventually asks his parents if he could have a YouTube channel and a beauty room and his parents converted a spare room to fit his needs.

He ended up being the most subscribed YouTuber within a day and a single post- 2 million subs from his first video titled “wowie I got a YouTube + Going into more in-depth reviews on twitter covered brands”

It has Emilie and Gabriel in it. It’s the first and last video she’s in.

A week after that he disappears off of YouTube. Gabriel announced Emilies disappearance

The agrestes disappear from the media altogether until 2 months later where Adrien goes back to modeling and Gabriel announces he hates everyone and is a recluse he will be launching a new line

Adrien posts to YouTube again at a semi regular basis, reviewing and talking about things he learned and wants to learn to be a better beauty guru.

A year later and Adrien is widely remarked as the most “not troublesome, sweet, and cinnaroll of the beauty community”

Drama channels don’t touch him. He is well liked and rarely spoken of in a matter that is shady.

If it is shady. Good luck because the beauty community is ruthless and you can go from somebody to nobody in an instant

He’s 15 when he gets to DuPont and already well known for his YouTube and modeling he is shocked when a girl doesn’t know who he is

Being treated like an equal- no something lower than that- made him feel human for the first time in a while.

He falls for Mari and falls hard. And after the umbrella scene she fell too.

So instead of some wacky love square you have two cinnarolls who are pining idiots for eachother and two superhero best bros

Adrien slowly brings his friends on his channel and when he brings Marinette for the first time let me just say the internet broke

Twitter crashed, YouTube froze, and tumblr was about to commit ship-icide (tbh it’s always like that but even closer than usual)

Everyone could see the attraction between these two love struck fools and when I say this was the talk of everything the next week I mean it.

(Fun fact: it became one of the most liked non-music video videos in YT)

They showed up together in a couple more videos obviously getting closer and closer.

They started dating but decided not to say anything because they wanted to explore the relationship on their own before letting outsiders see.

Ofc the vilest of villians showed up: Lila Rossi

She schemes and lies her way into making it on Adriens second channel- a vlog channel where he films his friends and social life along with some health stuff.

She clings onto her throughout the video and he is noticeably uncomfortable.

People are P i s s e d

The video gains traction as more and more people rip this girl open- first for her sexual harassment, then for her lies (which disgust many many people due to their nature) and third-

Third of all she disrespected Marinette and the Adrienette ship!

The line has been crossed

Anyways fast forward: lila is in a correctional facility for sociopaths, in Italy

her mom is shocked but is comforted by the fact that Adrien publicly claimed her side (lilas mom does not deserve that backlash)

Him saying that she didn’t know and that it was normal- siting examples of well known sociopaths that were found out to be sociopath years later (ted Bundy comes to my mind

Moral of the story?

Adrien is literally the internet’s sweetheart: cross at your own risk

Sorry that I got lazy near the end. This is just the rundown on the AU. I might expand on it more later because I think it’s a great idea, and also extras:

His third YT is a YouTube dedicated to anime and other PR packages/product reviews that aren’t beauty related.

He has a Instagram account that is just stupid memes for people that need cheering up. The name would totally be “catdrienmemegreste”

He is all about giving back and often has giveaways, he also sponsors MrBeast a lot so he can help the homeless and needy.

He doesn’t have much need for the ad revenue from YouTube so it all goes to charities, akuma therapy, and orphanages.

He totally loves buzzfeed for all the “adrienette moments/is real here’s why” articles before they were dating. And during.

Ladybug and chat noir reveal was both of them blinking rapidly before LB says “so that’s why his eyeliner is better than mine”

Snowball Fight

Summary: In which Adrien has an idea, Marinette is super competitive, and they forget the reason they were outside in the first place.

Fic:

The sun had set, the ground was covered in snow, and it glimmered in the moonlight. Hand-in-hand, Parisians walked through the park, huddled together, trying to keep warm. Two in particular, were as bundled up as could be, while chatting away on their walk through the park. And then one of them slipped on ice.

"Careful there, Princess." He said, steadying her, before she fell.

She just smiled at him, before grabbing his hand, and pulling him along to continue their walk.

"What do you think Alya and Nino wanted to meet us for?" She asked him.

"I've got no idea."

Just then, he heard shouts of joy, and he turned to see what was going on. There were little kids, four or five of them, running around throwing snowballs at one another, while trying to dodge the others. The parents were seated on the benches, watching the kids with those smiles that always meant love, the way his mother used to look at him before she disappeared. And then he got an idea.

He let go of Marinette's hand, prompting her to face him with a look of curiosity. He strode over to the layer of snow, where it had been shoved aside to clear the pathway, and bent down, sending her an 'innocent' smile over his shoulder. And then, he picked up a large handful of snow, before patting it down to make it look more like a...

"If you throw that snowball," His girlfriend said, now inching backwards, because she was cold enough as is, "you're declaring war."

He smirked, before throwing it at her and hitting her square in the chest.

She squealed at the touch, before her face gained the look of determination, and she marched over to a large clump of snow, before creating a snowball of her own. She gave him a smirk of her own, before throwing it at him, and hitting him in the face.

He spluttered, his cheeks and nose now colored pink. He had a look of almost shock that his sweet, innocent, caring, girlfriend would do that to him. And now she was laughing at him, so much she was keeling over, and clutching her sides. He frowned, before creating another one, and throwing it back at her, hitting her gloved hands, halting her laughter. They kept going back and forth, trying to dodge the other, while creating more snowballs to throw at their opponent. But then, Adrien had dodged one, and it resulted in a young lady, getting hit.

"I'm so sorry!" Marinette said, running up to her.

After all, she'd just hit her in the face with a snowball.

The woman smiled at her.

"Yes, I'm fine. But you two should try and be more careful." The lady smiled, before continuing on her way.

She nodded, before walking up to Adrien.

"Okay, maybe we should call it a tie?"

"Or..." He said, looking up; A silent question.

She smirked, "Round two."

Ladybug and Chat Noir met up on a random rooftop, snow surrounding them.

"Are you ready, M'lady?"

"Of course, mon Chaton."

And then it was the snowball battle of the century, as Ladybug and Chat Noir raced across the rooftops, while having their very own snowball fight. Awestruck citizens simply watched as their heroes hurled snowballs at each other, and laughing like there was no tomorrow.

Alya and Nino sat on a bench, at the park, where they've been for the past hour.

"They're probably just running late."

"I hope so." Alya said, looking at her phone again, after she'd hung up, when the 'pleaseleaveamessage' came on for the fifth time.

She'd already left three.

Ladybug and Chat Noir were laying down on another rooftop, side by side, enjoying the perks of their miraculouses, one being they didn't need anything besides their suit on, to keep warm.

"I'll consider that a victory, mon Chaton."

"For me? Because I totally beat you."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, Kitty." She said, her hand intertwining with his. "Hey, wanna go over to my place, and have some cocoa and cookies."

"And cuddle?" He suggested.

"Of course." She said, as if that had been obvious.

They sat up, before she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Though, I can't help but think we're forgetting something."

While Nino was sitting on the bench, Alya was now pacing in front of him.

"Do you think Tom and Sabine would know? I mean, we've been waiting for almost two hours. Sure, they've been late, but not this late."

"You sure they didn't just forget?"

"Then where do you think they'd be right now?"

"Home? I know Adrien always forgets to take his phone off silent, and Marinette usually never has her phone on her. Maybe we could go over to their apartment?"

"Yeah. Let's do that."

She smiled at him gratefully, before going up on her toes, and placing a kiss on his lips. She grabbed his hand, and they began their walk to their friend's apartment.

"You know, I still feel like we're forgetting something." Ladybug said, as they casually made their way back home.

"Well, LB, I'm sure it'll come to you."

Just then they swung past to individuals, who looked oddly familiar...

"Ladybug! Chat Noir!"

They stopped, turned around, and jumped down, landing in front of the two civilians...

Who were Alya, and Nino.

"Ladyblogger." Chat said, giving her his two-finger salute.

"Chat Noir! Have either of you seen our friends? Uh, you know Adrien, right? Adrien Agreste?" She said pointing to one of the many billboards in Paris with his picture on it. She continued, "And Marinette? His girlfriend?" She gestured to a different billboard, this time with a picture of both of them.

...And then she realized what she'd fogotten.

"Uh, yeah, actually! They- uh- asked us actually, to tell you they got held up, and were on their way now. We saw them on our run through the city, and they called down to us, like you did. And we really have to go now." She said, putting her arm around Chat's waist.

"Bug out!" She called, as they swung, into an empty alleyway.

"Did I miss something, Bug?"

"We were supposed to meet up with them, like, what time is it?" He checked. "Like two and a half hours ago!"

In response to that, he detransformed, and she promptly followed.

They raced out of the alleyway, trying to catch up to Alya and Nino.

"Alya!" She called out, as they approached their friends.

"Where were you two?" Alya asked, bringing Marinette into a hug.

"We- uh- got a little distracted..." She said glancing at Adrien, cheeks turning red.

Alya could guess the redness wasn't from the cold.

"Uh, yeah." Adrien agreed, his cheeks equally as red as Marinette's.

Alya smirked.

"Of course, but next time try not to have your phones out of the room."

Bonus:

"So, why did you call us here anyway?"

"Before we get to that, someone recorded Ladybug and Chat Noir having a snowball fight through Paris! Isn't that cool!?! I can't believe I missed it! I'm so posting that when I get home. And the reason I called you guys here? Well..."

Extra Bonus (Because Why Not?):

She held out her hand.

"We're engaged!"
