Thank you for liking the concept! I honestly didn’t expect that a lot of people would be into it, so I’m always glad to hear/read that people like it 😊

Yep, as of now, there will be a few scenes from another character’s POV. Haven’t really gotten that far ahead in writing to see if I’ll have some flashbacks, but there may be a few.

As for MC and Ædric’s relationship at the beginning of ATE, it’s set to already be pretty good after spending so much time together.

Long explanation ahead for Ædric and MC’s relationship 😅

(And spoilers? At this point, I think you guys already have a good idea of how Ædric feels about MC 😅 Y'all pretty much already know how Ædric feels at this point because of me being overly excited to talk about ATE, so I guess it's just spoilers for anyone who hasn't witnessed me failing to keep my mouth shut 😅)

To give more context:

They met shortly after MC and Ædan had their first meeting

Since MC and Ædric are closer in age compared to MC and Ædan and the content of Ædric’s classes are mostly similar to that of MC’s classes (just a bit more advanced), it was decided that they would just have their classes together (and nothing brings people together like suffering through a reading 11 pages long or a vague word problem that gives you a lot of info but not the stuff you need to solve it 😂)

However, little MC’s adoration for Ædan, the awesome and handsome crown prince, was like a shadow that hung over them. As soon as they were done working on their assignments, smol MC would wonder out loud about where Ædan was, what he was doing, if there were any flowers in the garden he liked, things like that. Even though it irked little Ædric (especially little Ædric who started to get flustered whenever MC was near), he never got mad at MC because he would rather listen to them ramble about how pretty Ædan’s eyes were than to waste the time that MC was spending with him by having an argument over his brother.

Ædric may have developed feelings for MC, but he never went beyond dropping some smooth lines because he knew about how love-stricken MC was for his brother. He and Ædan may have had their own problems going on, but he always saw Ædan treat MC well, so he decided that he would be content to watch MC smile from afar, as long as MC was smiling. (Of course, this was before the entire mess Ædan and Helene made)

Romantic feelings aside, Ædric considers MC a good friend whose thoughts and opinions he greatly values, though MC doesn’t quite return the same degree of deep friendship since they’ve mostly been focused on Ædan. And most of the time Ædric doesn’t share much about himself; he’d much rather ask MC how their day has been and listen to a full account of every single thing they did all the way down to the little details, like how gently the wind was blowing as they took a walk around the plaza, things like that (Ædric and I are quite similar in this sense 😄).

Ahhh, thank you so much!! 💖I'm glad you enjoy FFTD!! That series also tends to be my favorite of everything I've written, too. There's just something about FFTD Matty...

I could certainly give you some tips/suggestions that I've learned along the way! I've been writing and reading fanfic since 2005 so I've been around for a bit 😅 Though if there is something more specific that I didn't address--like something more specific with writing or editing or something--you (or anyone else who's curious) can certainly always send me an ask and I will always answer when I have a few minutes! But I'm not going to claim I'm remotely an expert on all of this, either. This is just from my experience and talking with other fic writers.

As always, the answer is below the cut!

First, I think it's always important to keep in mind that the more you write, the better your skill will grow with writing. Which goes for everyone, no matter how long you've been writing for or whatever your age is. I always see an improvement in my writing when I read something from even just a few months ago. And I even cringe at things like the very first Matt fic I wrote or even some early FFTD installments. So don't be too hard on yourself!

I think it's also important to remember to not compare yourself to others. We all have different styles and voices and that's a wonderful thing in writing. If everyone wrote the same or had the same ideas, there'd be nothing interesting to read. Everything would sound the same which would be boring. Personally, I didn't find my writing style/voice and grow comfortable with it until almost a year and a half ago when I started writing for the Daredevil fandom, so it's completely okay if you are still searching for yours.

Don't let any negative comments you might ever receive writing fanfic drag you down. Everyone gets them, and some fandoms have different dynamics than others where it may happen more often than in another one (though come on y'all, can we please practice the don't like don't read rule??). I think anyone who writes fanfic long enough will receive at least some hate. I've certainly gotten plenty over the years, and yes, it sucks and it can hurt or piss you off, but you have to remember to brush it off. There are likely many others enjoying your story to make up for that one person who's being rude. Block buttons can be your friend if you need them.

If you're having trouble writing a character that already exists in the fandom, studying them in the source material is always a good route. The amount of times I've gone and re-watched Daredevil, Punisher, or Kin in order to feel like I capture any of the characters in there just right is absurd, but it really does help to see their mannerisms, speech patterns, and to begin to get a feel of how they'd react in different situations based on how they've reacted in the show.

Lastly, when you write chapters for your fics and it begins to feel daunting, know that you can always break things down into more manageable chunks. I used to struggle to write much at a time until I learned to focus on the story in this way as opposed to focusing on everything that I still needed to make happen. Just focus scene by scene or even line by line. How to get Character A to do this or get to that point, for example, and it should hopefully seem significantly less terrifying. If you try to think of everything that needs to happen in a chapter all at once, it might begin to feel overwhelming and you may have the urge to give up. Try breaking things down and focusing on one thing at a time.

I could absolutely go on but I don't want to ramble! Zerilliam

I hope by now that you already know, but just in case you didn't, I absolutely adore this pairing! When I first started reading "Dandelion Wishes," I actually made my poor sister listen to me rant about how much I love this ship (and she hadn't even read the fic so she had no clue what I was talking about), and honestly I had more to say about them than most canon x canon Black Clover pairings, so needless to say, it is definitely canon in my mind.

William is such a sweetheart, and I can really imagine him as someone who has domestic dreams of finding love, settling down, and having a family so it warms my heart to see that he did get to have this (even if it ended in tragedy--which I will never get over. They deserved their happy ending! 😭 Even if I'll admit the angst is delicious, and their boy, Alistair, is just so precious to me).

Also, your backstory for how the two of them ended up together is just delightful. Honestly, "Dandelion Wishes" is one of my favorite fanfictions I've ever read in my life, and I have been so invested in it and in William and Zera's relationship from day one. They are so perfect for each other in my opinion, just absolutely made-for-each-other soulmates. I love how they share common interests but have a lot of balance in personality with Zera a little more headstrong and William a little more reserved. They really are in awe of each other's strengths too and have so much respect and admiration for their differences which I just adore.

Zera as a character is so vibrant and so real to me, as well. She just commands attention every time she appears, and every time she does pretty much anything, I can just vividly imagine William staring lovingly awestruck at her and zest for life with hearts in his eyes or floating around his head like in an old cartoon. (He's so in love! I'm going to cry!) Also, her quirks and the adorable way she names her plants is super endearing, and the fact that she is a florist only makes me love her more (but my family actually runs a flower shop (A/N: But I don't work there), so I think I'm very biased in this regard 😅).

I honestly don't get this intense about ships all that often, but I cannot describe to you in words how much I think about this pairing and how desperately I need them to kiss. And I mean desperately. To be perfectly honest with you, at this point, I am so invested in it that it's really hard for me to imagine William with anyone else...which concerns the more neutral, multi-shipper part of me, if I'm being honest, but this ship is just that good. Reading about them has made me laugh and cry and squeal just like (and in many cases more than) reading about any ship between canon characters, and I'm honestly just in awe of how compelling this ship and their story is. I really can't thank you enough for creating Zera, Zerilliam, and the masterpiece that is "Dandelion Wishes"! 💖

YuNeva

Aww they're cute. 😊 To be honest with you though (and I am very sorry to have to say this) in general ships with Yuno in them aren't really my cup of tea personally since I tend to see Yuno as someone who isn't all that interested in romance and (possibly) would just never really want that kind of relationship. That said, according to the Assorted Question Brigade in Vol. 31 he does have a “type” of person he likes...so who knows? Maybe someday he'll want to find love. If he did, I would definitely be supportive of that, and I'm not against the idea of shipping him. It's just not something I personally have ever given much thought to, and, for that reason, I feel pretty neutral towards Yuno ships in general and don't have many thoughts or opinions (Again, I'm sorry about that).

All of that said, if I was to imagine Yuno falling in love, YuNeva is a very sweet pairing, and they make me smile in your stories and posts about them. I really enjoyed them in COTF too! ^^ Going back to that Assorted Question Brigade I mentioned, Yuno himself described his "type" as "someone who's relaxing to be around," and that's something that really sticks out to me about his relationship with Neva. It's very comfortable and almost cozy. They just work so well together, and it feels effortless--like they just naturally gravitate towards each other and genuinely enjoy each other's company. I love that a lot, and I also love how their bond is built on mutual respect and admiration. They really support each other and the moments they can share their vulnerabilities are always very compelling to me. I also think Neva is just a great character on her own (especially her platonic bond with William. So wholesome!). I like her dynamic with Yuno a lot too and how they complement each other. I think I'm a little more invested in their friendship (because I'm weird like that), but I could definitely see them very happy together romantically and I definitely want good things for both of them, so I'd support them falling in love and think you’ve done a great job crafting their love story. 💕

Platonic Relationship Ramblings! Yay! Thank you so much for this, dear!

Asta & Yuno

Aww I adore them, and their brotherly bond. Their dynamic and rivalry which is built on a such a strong foundation of familial love and mutual respect was what initially hooked me in Black Clover, and it has been such a delight getting to watch their individual journeys and how they have supported each other through the series. I'm getting a little emotional just thinking about it, honestly. 🥹

One of my favorite things about them is just how wildly different they are as people. Asta has such a big personality, and Yuno is so reserved, but their differences are always respected and really help inspire each other. In that way, I love that their relationship is kind of a twist on the usual rivals dynamic because it isn't just Asta trying to live up to the (quite frankly very OP) Yuno but Yuno also views Asta as his rival as well because he has so much admiration for his passion, resilience, and determination. I was not expecting that when I first watched the anime and thought it was such a refreshing reveal. I love how Yuno's genuine admiration for Asta has been such a driving force for his character throughout the series.

Fuegoleon & Nozel

Yes! I love this dynamic! Nozel being tsundere about his friendship feelings is just so entertaining, and I love to see the trope used in a platonic way instead of just an explicitly romantic one. The love between friends is really important too and can also be difficult to express sometimes, so it was really great to see Nozel kind of struggle with that and struggle with how much Fuegoleon means to him and how much he admires and respects him even if he lacks the words to say it. And yes, it was kind of played for laughs sometimes, (and my sister and I made so many "tsundere besties" jokes about them while binging the anime), but even so, there is something really genuine and really wholesome about their friendship. Getting to see how Nozel reacted to Fuegoleon's injury and subsequent coma and how motivated he was by his respect and admiration for him was just really compelling, and I found the scene in the elf arc in which Nozel is thinking of their rivalry and how much Fuegoleon inspires him to be really moving. Definitely a solid BROTP!

-Let's get one thing clear about our dreamer: They cannot take what they dish out. Not at ALL. Teases, cooing and air tickles? All things Enmu gladly performs but the second you turn them on them, they ✨ decease ✨

-Babe's hips don't lie when it comes to tickling; poke them there or even threaten to and Enmu will fold like a lawn chair, hands up and giggling like nobody's business. Akaza finds this especially helpful when Enmu's rambling on and being Douma-levels of annoying. All he has to do is tap his his own hip and curl his fingers and Enmu's shivering in giggly anticipation.

-Get's SUPER red when teased during tickles. I'm talking the color of Douma's shirt, that's how red they get! Also someone who covers their face alot when tickled- their hands are just as bad as their hips so any attempts to fight back or block out their attacker means their hands are up for grabs. "Oh, does someone have ticklish hands? Do they?" "What's wrong- I thought you said you were only ticklish in your dreams?" "Come on Enmu, don't hide your face! Give me a smile~" Anything like that and Enmu's putty in your hands.

-The type to get flustered by their own dreams! Once Enmu jokingly made a tickle dream scenario and wanted to test it before they let it loose on Rui or Gyutaro. They made it like- five seconds? Before they woke up flushed and giggly, unable to look at anyone or anything for a good while. They used their newly developed dream on Rui not long after.

-If you call their laugh cute or pretty or anything nice they will whine like my beagle. It's not that those comments make them uncomfortable- on the contrary they love to hear it! It's just it's so RARE that when they do it's an instant fluster and Emnu's a mess. They will love you forever if you tell them that though and mean it. Expect lots of good dreams coming your way.

I have to disagree with anon! I think there is good cause for my boy to have major-self esteem issues and bouts of self-loathing. In this essay I will-

Just kidding! But there’s some things that I want to point out. One: he was bullied throughout his entire childhood. Anyone who has been bullied knows that shit will follow you through your whole life, and quite often people with traumatic childhoods hide their pain into adulthood with confidence/coldness (especially Scorpios 😅 he’s a scorpio king through and through).

Next: All of his problems wouldn’t have magically been solved immediately after claiming Vhagar, but the loss of his eye only fuels that. He said it was a fair trade because he gained a dragon, but it’s really not, even if it is the last dragon of the conquest (also, he was a child when he said that, who had no clue the future issues losing an eye would cause him down the line, and wanted to comfort his mother). Losing an eye/having any disability is a big fucking deal in Westeros. It’s a big deal in our world too, don’t get me wrong - but life in Westeros is much crueler than ours. We as readers/viewers sometimes tend to look at this content with a modern lens, which is something we cannot do. In this world, he is lucky to be a prince. He can study and train all he wants, best the greatest swordsmen in all the seven kingdoms, but no matter how incredible he is, all of his potential will always be followed by ‘if only he hadn’t lost that eye’. “Imagine how much greater a warrior he would be if he had both eyes” (even though he beats Cole in the training yard with relative ease). “You have an unmarried son? Oh, but he’s missing an eye” (even though he is very obviously Valyrian and the Valyrians are all certified hotties). I wouldn’t say he’s repulsed by himself, but that the resentment over what happened to him is a big motivator for everything he does and becomes.

It makes perfect sense that he isn’t aware of how handsome he is, but I disagree that he doesn’t think much about how he looks. he is certainly not vain, but he does keep a very tidy appearance. His hair and hands are always clean, his clothes fit him well and he is just extremely well put together, something he probably learned from Alicent (queen of dying on the inside but slaying on the outside). One could argue that he only does this as it is expected of a man of his station, but Aegon exists.

It’s unfortunately realistic for the setting that almost noble ladies would be scared of him. The eyepatch is one thing, but his demeanour is described and shown as quite haunting as an adult (which just makes me EVEN MORE sad because he seemed like a very sweet child). He doesn’t strike me as the kind of man who would make the first move personally either, which would make finding someone to share his life with even more difficult. A lady who is unafraid of him would be rare, and for her to be that way, it’s likely she had been dealt her own cruel hand in life as well (I’m currently writing my own work where this is the case - not trying to self plug but 🤠). Someone who he could melt into in private, share his worst fears and thoughts with, allow them to touch his scars… I feel like he would cherish that greatly and want to protect that part of his life as well as he possibly can.

When he has the confrontation with his brother, where Aegon says he’ll run away so he may have the throne, you can see the cogs turning afterwards. I think he was quite sad in that moment, tormented by the ‘if only’ nature of his life. Yes, he does deserve the throne, but that doesn’t matter. He was not born to rule, Aegon was.

Sorry this was kind of a ramble, but I have a lot of thoughts because he’s such an interesting, beautifully tragic character. Let me know what you think!

Aemond was absolutely bullied throughout his childhood, he was ganged up on by the other boys and I think the only person his age (who we know of) that wasn't mean to him was Helaena.

He had enough gumption, however, to claim the largest dragon in Westeros. To me, that takes no small amount of self-esteem, like "yeah, I deserve this". He received little to no attention/instruction/guidance from his father, instead I believe Cole filled that role. Aemond knows his prowess in sword fighting and carries himself with confidence accordingly. The man has swagger, I don't think by any means he loathes himself. Absolutely he is made to feel as less of a man because he is missing an eye, but literally everything he does is to make up for that (as you said).

As far as his appearance goes, let me explain better. Aemond takes pride in the traits he inherited that define him as a Targaryen. His silver hair, he takes excellent care of and grows long (like "see I am a legitimate heir") He takes care of himself, of course, but he has been given no reason to see himself as a particularly handsome man. Quite the opposite, as I am sure court whispers speak mainly of his missing eye and what horror may lie beneath the eyepatch. But yes, he does slay just like his mama. He is royalty, after all, and (once again) takes a GREAT amount of pride in his heritage (notice the dragon pins he wears on each of his outfits). Which also speaks to a certain amount of self-confidence.

Note also how Aegon is the opposite, he takes no pride in his appearance (the actor actually pointed this out too haha) or his Targaryen ancestry.

There is much nuance to Aemond's character (especially now with the show), and I certainly agree that he may have feelings of self-doubt, frustration, insecurity, but he uses these emotions to fuel himself to do better, train harder, study more...mold himself into the man he perceives his family needs.

Mhm, Kell and Kosika do seem to have some similarities about them. Especially if Holland or whoever is using his image is just using Kosika to reopen the walls. Also it's quite interesting to note that all her antari commands have come to her instinctively. However, whilst we don't have confirmation that this is strange or unusual - we do see both Kell and Lila using their powers for the first time (just about) and neither knew the commands - Maris told Kell and Lila had to ask!

Definitely seems to be a vitari-esque parallel between Holland and Kosika, very spooky. I'll be interested to see where it goes, given basically all W!London scenes are build up for later.

Balance is interesting, because I'm of the thought that reopening the gates will balance - because closed everything fell out of balance. I do think "and we had to give up magic power for the good of all" endings are a bit naff and considering R!London is very reliant, I don't think Schwab will lean that way. Would the antari population *balance* out?

Gods, I agree, Kell was probably way too scared after the ring business. It seemed like he was really hung up on it - but I can also see why the gesture was received poorly on Lila's end. I would like to see Lila cry more, let it out!! What comes after the confession though? Lila was clear she's not really a... family maker (nice parallel with Alucard who does want that for himself and Rhy). I thought Lila's response when asked by Nadiya was a bit interesting, it was a clear no, but Lila clearly felt a bit off about it, literally describing it as a "strange effect". I don't necessarily think children is the lathway this is going, but idk, it stuck out to me. Perhaps its like you say, that fear she has of facing her feelings.

Poor Tes, i'm looking forward to seeing her confidence grow! And for the eventual conflict with her sister!

That would make sense, or perhaps the space between worlds - and they can only escape once Kosika opens the gates.

I think Schwab is very drawn to male characters (and i think why some readers don't like Lila so much because she is this aggressive and mean character - each to their own i guess)

Hey, sorry for the late reply but I was kinda disconnected mentally this past week 😆 and I wanted to give a proper reply!

Putting a read more because it's quite long 😅

-> Kosika using her commands casually Yup, from what I've gathered, before she met "Holland" in ghostly form, he was with her but she could not see him, and he told her the commands and only later I think he tells her that's how she was able to know what to do, which is suspicious. Because like you said, Kell and Lila were told the Antari commands and there are still commands they might not know and can't use bc Antari magic requires specific formulae. Maybe "Holland" wanted to speed the process required for Antari to learn every spell they can use so the process to gather power would be quicker. What if he needed power to manifest himself to her as a ghost? Because it took a few years... and that power they are gathering may have other purposes which Kosika is unaware of. And yep, the WL scenes are for the future! Because no one expects WL to be so changed after seven years, and for Kosika to be so knowledgeable about Antari magic so young.

-> Everyone losing their power at the end? Would the antari population *balance* out?

I also dislike the "they lose their powers at the end" trope. This series deals a lot with the theme of balance and one of the hardest things the characters have/had to do is/was to control themselves and their magic. If they lost everything, it would be quite annoying and would be too easy. The point that was made throughout the trilogy and now in Threads is balance, power, control, limits, etc. Victoria doesn't seem the kind of writer who would resort to that, at least in most of the series by her I've read, there was no one who ended without powers (on the other end, they had to deal with the consequences of having x power and things like that). So maybe, if Black London has something to do with Antari and why they exist -maybe there's a bit of Black London magic in every London and that's why Antari are so rare- it's possible there would be more of them? Even though that itself would be difficult to handle because people would abuse of their powers etc. so it's a never ending cycle lol

-> Kell and Lila

I wanted to see how the ring scene went because it must have been angsty (might write a fanfic about it perhaps, bc I like to write missing scenes XD). Confrontation can make or break a relationship, and I think that even if they don't see eye to eye on some matters, they still try to understand and be there for each other because they deeply care and love each other. I don't want to imagine what would happen if either of them died or would be severely injured.

I think I wrote in the previous ask that Lila only cries when there's death/near death experience with the people she loves. The finality is the trigger that opens the gates of her tears, because she's emotionally repressed. She had to reign in her emotions for years and it takes time to unlearn this. And we see that even if Kell shows her repeatedly how much he loves her, and she knows he won't reject her - if any, he would be ecstatic if she told him she loves him - she still finds it difficult to do so and to say those three words. I believe it's one of her core fears, along with well, losing Kell.

See, a reason I would love a baby storyline/talk is that perhaps this could help unlock her emotional side more. Lila might not be emotional like Kell (even though she's more irrational than him on the practical side), but she does have a heart and that heart beats so loud for those she cares about. This story would also tie with her trauma (i.e. losing her mother so young, having an abusive father so being scared to be like her father with her child, her fear of being tied down, etc.). I don't think a child is necessary in a couple but I feel like there is something in Kell and Lila's story (and their inner child trauma) that would tie so well with a baby storyline. I can't unsee it after this baby talk with Nadiya but of course it's just an headcanon for now. There are a lot of ways to explore this topic, and they may even discuss it among themselves. I would like to know where Kell stands on this. Maybe he would talk about it with either Rhy or Nadiya herself, because I bet she's interested about Kell's thoughts about this (even if it's none of her business lol).

Yeah, most of her novels have more male characters than female characters, and she does characterize them well (they also have great chemistry with each other and that's not an easy fit). In ADSOM Lila is the only mfc, and she doesn't fit the gender stereotypes, and sometimes she might be too extreme and do questionable things and people might not like that. Or maybe, people do not try to see past the exterior behavior she has, I have no idea. On the other hand, that's why I love Lila. She is morally grey, she is unpredictable, she is an hypocrite, she is a mystery, she is many things. I love all the layers she has and she is definitely my favorite character along with Kell. She was the first character I was drawn to when I read ADSOM years ago, and my love was reaffirmed and grew even stronger when I read Threads. 😂

Tagged by @mariahwritesstuff for this tag she created! Thanks so much, this was super fun to do though I may have gotten a little carried away😅

Rules: Choose any Oc/s and pick an animal that relates to them and why. You can also include images or drawings of your own but don't have to.

I'll be doing this for the MC cast of the "As A Stranger Or A Friend?" series which will be interesting because two of them are Lizardfolk so they are technically animals already, but I'll chose some for them anyway!

Mariel - Rabbit

This one was a no brainer! She's warm, motherly, and emotionally intelligent, which aligns with pretty well with rabbit symbolism (Fertility, luck, creativity, compassion, and intuition). However, those these traits take some time to come out because she's pretty shy. Aside from their symbolism, Mariel shares a lot of behavioral characteristics with them, such as thriving best when surrounded by others (rabbits are very social), needing various places to hide, startling easily, and being very active (she doesn't like idling). She's also described as a rabbit in the text by Fay and Wilkes though Axtapor prefers to think of her as a bird.

Axtapor - Hyena

Yeah you read that right lol. A hyena. Despite his name being a variant on 'astor' (meaning hawk) I think he's better represented by this animal instead. They are often thought of opportunistic scavengers and generally get a bad rap, but their actual behavior is quite different! They're witty, strong (these guys have a bite strong enough to pierce elephant hide AND crush elephant bones), and are not wasteful (they eat almost every part of the animal they hunt). These traits all apply to Axtapor too! He's a savvy outdoorsman, hunter, and of course, a pirate (he knows all about picking people clean of their riches) Male hyenas are also at the bottom of the pecking order in their packs, females are usually the dominant ones, which holds true for way that Axtapor relates to his grandmother, sisters, and other women in his life. (He usually lets them take the lead) Hyenas are also incredibly caring and nurturing, something that is VERY true for the way he treats Mariel.

Fay - Octopus

Another no brainer. Octopi symbolize the unknown, secrets, intelligence, and transformation. Of all the characters of the AASOAF cast, Fay has reinvented herself the most, learning, changing, adapting each time. They are very resourceful creatures, which is true for Fay too, she often leverages whatever she has in her arsenal to obtain what she wants (no holds barred). Ancient depictions show them as sea monsters and representative of the evil hiding in the ocean, which in more ways than one, applies to her.

Wilkes - Bear

Wilkes physically resembles a bear (he's the tallest and biggest of the MC AASOAF cast) but also has a lot of this animal's personality traits. He's patient, tenacious, courageous, and also very protective (this is especially true when it comes to Fay). Despite his appearance, he can be very warm and people tend to trust him (his reputation as a hero of the Holtep Empire precedes him). Maybe the only thing that doesn't fit with this animal is that there is A LOT more to him than meets the eye.

14. Tell me about a headcanon you love, dislike and have a neutral opinion on

I am not married to any of my headcanons lol so if I contradict any of these in fic then shh you didn't see that 😅💕 however!

Love: I think it was @gaviiadastra who introduced me to this one - Gordon and John sending each other interesting articles and cool facts about the science stuff they're reading and just generally putting their heads together and geeking out 😄 it's cute and relatable

Dislike: The thing I love about Thunderbirds is how genuine and kind everyone is, so I don't really like any headcanon that takes away from that. Like John ensuring that bad people get their comeuppance leverage style, or Scott or Gordon losing their temper that stuff I don't mind and think is pretty fun, but the most important thing for me is that they are never cruel and they don't exact revenge on anyone.

Neutral: I would say I hang out here for most headcanons since I mostly have a "sure, why not!" thing going on 😄 Maybe Virgil and his coffee love? I'm pretty neutral on that - I'll write it into fics if I need it, but I have no issue with having him leap out of bed raring to go if I need him to do that instead!

15. Which protagonist do you think would make a good villain?

Lol and just after I said I didn't like anything that took away from them being good. But honestly, I think that they all have the potential. That's the thing about having a lot of power; the consequences of your actions are extremely far-reaching and have the potential to propel you into being seen as a hero or as a villain very easily. And almost all the characters have a lot of power that they're currently wielding for good and if even of them were to switch, things would be bad. I think the following would make the best villains though because they have extra power in particular ways over the others so have a shortlist:

• John - he's the one that usually gets a bit of the evil potential schtick and it does make sense. He has the ability to be sly and calculating if he were to ignore the emotion of the situation, to pull all the information at his fingertips together and then use it and it's all that information that he has access to that would make him have the ability to do far more damage than your average villain.

• Scott / Jeff - For similar reasons so I've grouped them together - both of them have power over the rest of their family due to their leadership positions and the high trust model present in said leadership, and they have the charm factor over everyone outside of their family. They have access as leaders of a major corporation to more people and could very easily assign tasks to people who never see the whole picture until it's too late...

• Lady Penelope - like all of them, Penelope has a name and a reputation that she can use to her advantage, but she especially has access to a network of spies and agents who could be convinced to gather intel and carry out plots for anything that money and simple persuasion can't accomplish.

There's some themes here of course - money, information, influence, trust. All of these things give you power over others and all of these can be abused to craft a villain (thank goodness they all chose otherwise!! They all chose kindness and that makes me !!!!!)

I loooove all the ideas you decifered in this !! Like it's brutally honest that despite everything that will happen Micah will never truely love you (that's what I think of him too) but he's a crazyman and I just picture him being super jealous. Like real dangerously so. Not just about reader, but like you kind of portrayed it in Through the Briar, he's also super jealous of Arthur and that's what makes him super explosive.

Argh, why the objectifying possessivness of Micah over the reader carrying his child is so hot 🥵❤️‍🔥 ?? I havn't thought about it but you are so right about the fact that he would have no shame droping hint that he slept with the reader in front of all the crew, and she would probably never tell anyone that he forced himself onto her beacause she would be so ashamed...

Being pregnant with his child would doom the rest of the reader's life, like I don't think she could escape him for long... But what if she had a little girl ? How do you think Micah would react ? I'm not sure but I'd say that he'd be more distant with them, and reader would have a slightly easier life.

I kind of have the impression that if she trier to escape him though, bringing HIS child with her, he'd find her and make sure that she'd be trapped with another baby of him, making it even more difficult for her to run away...

But back to the camp, I feel like everyone would be concerned by the fact that Micah slept with the reader, but I think the only one that would have no doubt about the fact that it was non-consensual would be Arthur. Like, he saw how reader never talked back to him even though he's been roughing her up and he des not trust him. At all.

But without confirmation, he'd just be extra careful when he's around.

Seing how other would interact with reader after they found out about Micah would be vers interesting ! And also really sad for the reader...

You seem to have already so many ideas : I really hope you'll someday elaborate all of them in a sequel or something 🤩✨️

I am SO sorry for making you wait this long for an answer, this week has been eating me alive so far lol. And thank you again! To be 100% honest, out of the whole VDL gang he is the easiest to write for me because he is imo very predictable. Arthur and John are hard asf for me - or Javier. Oh my god, I can't read that guy at all!! For some reason my brain just vibes with Micah in that way lol. And I only played until Chapter 4 in February and finally completed the game this summer, so kinda same haha!! I'll try not to spoil you!! 💗💗 And @ the masochistic side of you! Totally get it! I love to write about hopeless and bleak scenarios, it's super cathartic to me. And from the main cast, Micah is just the one who comes to mind when thinking about rdr2 darkfic (because I don't quite think that even low honor Arthur would go as far as noncon of a fellow gang member? Idk just my impression. And the rest of the gang is at best emotionally manipulative, but I don't anyone would pull what Micah did in through the briar.)

I so agree with everything you said!! If you were to have a little girl instead of a boy, he'd definitely be more distant. But we saw in his letter to Amos that he does keep tabs on the people in his closer circle - and while he isn't going the be father of the year 1900-1910™, I do think that from that point onwards, you're 'his woman'. I think he'd have no issue with getting you pregnant again and again until you finally have that little boy. Mind you, I think he'd drop you off somewhere and stop by every weeks/months, like Arthur did with Isaac. He isn't gonna be around 24/7, he has his gang stuff to do and you'd only be a hindrance. Imagine how humiliating it has to be to make up lies about your 'husband' to the very few neighbors you do have and then it's... Micah. And regarding escaping him: yes, a hundred times yes. Wherever you're hiding out, he'll go in, guns blazing, and make a whole show of shooting every poor soul there. He'd be absolutely livid, to be honest, and he's gonna take it out on anyone standing in his way and THEN you. I genuinely think he'd even slap you for it. Definitely chokes you out for a little bit until your eyes are bloody and you're frantically kicking at the ground for release. And then noncons you. Just overall a super bad, gritty situation for you, so... don't even try it. (There are also a few things to consider regarding the epilogue but I'm not gonna spoil you haha!!)

The camp reactions are super interesting for me to think about as well; either a sequel that picks up where I left off or the 'escape in the epilogue' would be cool to write about but I don't think I'd get that fic done until next year summer (which sounds shocking, I know, but knowing my writing speed and what is in my immediate future, it's, unfortunately, the truth 😭). So let me elaborate on here before I leave you to starve (😭😭😭). I think, at first, the women would be put off immensely. As soon as they figure it out, I think they'd judge you, even if just a little. They've spent weeks, months shooting him and his disgusting advances down and while everyone knows Micah is a snake, they aren't safe from that little nagging voice in the back of their head that thinks about the 'what if you did this willingly...?' thing. The most level-headed ones of them are definitely Abigail and Tilly, I just see Abigail as the type to immediately see what's going on, much like Arthur (back to him and the men later, though). Mary-Beth seems to be somewhere in the middle and Karen the slowest to catch on. I think you could genuinely catch some of her ire at first, with her dropping some snide remarks. I think she'd be kinda mad? Until someone either tells her off or you tell her (which. Is hard. Speaking from experience.) Ms. Grimshaw? Hard to decipher. We've seen how she gets when one of the women is in danger, but the problem with the whole aftermath is that it involves TWO gang members... And one of them is regarded very highly by Dutch. So while I think there would be little fire from her side, she'd step in between you and Micah, here and there. Ultimately, she has very little say in it all, sadly. Sadie is just on the sidelines. It's not like she doesn't care but she doesn't really connect with the reader-character from through the briar and she has her own things going on. So, in short, I am still rather optimistic about your standing among the women. I think they can empathize, one way or another - no matter what they think, in the end. They might look at you funny for a bit if they think it was consensual (and they might never realize it wasn't) but time will heal those little bumps in the road, I'm sure. But still; there definitely will be a few drunken confrontations between Karen and you and they won't end pretty. But I do think Abigail cares a whole heap. We know about her past and I think she'd lend reader a shoulder to cry on, if you wanted to- which in my mind- you don't. (Like I said, I think reader would turn very quiet and reclusive after that night.)

Now onto the men: Most of them do not give a shit, in my honest opinion. The reader-character isn't necessarily regarded as pretty nor is she very sociable beyond the other women. There... isn't much to care about, as harsh as it sounds. She isn't hated or disliked, she's just an afterthought, you know? Dutch likes you well enough and Arthur is a genuine friend, and the rest... Very ambivalent. I think Charles immediately knows there is something wrong, he can read you like a book. Does he offer support? Hard to say, leaning towards no. He and reader don't really have a relationship and it isn't his place. Hosea might figure it out, too. And I think he'd call you over for a little talk but, again, reader just... can't speak about it. And honestly, I think the rest sees you in a more negative light afterwards. They probably don't put much thought into it being consensual or not, as harsh as it sounds. John might care a teeny tiny bit but someone like Bill? Jeez, no. Get ready to be mocked openly, when the chance arises. And Lenny? Oof, I think he just kinda knows something is off but much like Charles, he isn't gonna broach that topic anytime soon (again, not his place in his opinion). Dutch straight-up goes with whatever Micah feeds him, no doubt. That you both were drunk and fooling around, if he's ever questioned about it. That you're just having some buyer's remorse, basically. And quite frankly, Dutch wants to gloss over this, he needs everyone together and not divided. So don't expect much sympathy there. Now, Arthur... Arthur immediately notices how quiet you are and how you don't come to sit by his side anymore. And of course, as the absolute oaf he is, he'll probably think he did something wrong, at first. Until Micah drops his first comment and everything just clicks. I can actually see a big confrontation there and Arthur absolutely losing it - but like I said, Dutch believes Micah and needs the camp to be a united front. The fact that you were drunk is perfect for Micah's side - and Arthur will have to submit, ultimately. And I genuinely think your and Arthur's relationship would break over this; with him lording over you like some man-sized guard dog and you needing space - I can see reader snapping one day and Arthur taking it the wrong way, only for both of them to gradually grow apart. I am of course pulling from personal experiences and I leave the explanation at that so as to not trigger anyone on here.

Also, the way Micah would drop his little hints in the first place- he'll definitely get closer than ever before, not touching you, but caging you in with his body so you can't quite leave (like leaning next to you, not that anime move lmao, but definitely invading your personal space), trying to spook you, excessive pet names and overall way, way more attention... Super loud comments to the other men (ew ew ew) and a dozen new little jokes about you. Just thinking about it makes me pull a face, ew. And you touch on something I haven't thought about yet: another man approaching reader/flirting with you. I don't think he'll step in and be like 'be gone, that's my woman' (lmao never) but he'd make the worst, lewd comments about how he got you into bed and how you enjoyed it, about how 'easy' you are. Basically both humiliating you and trying to shoo that feller away. Yes, he did say that he's more likely to despise the women he has been with afterwards - and I totally think that manifests itself in more verbal abuse and shame. And if you're pregnant, back to the above haha.

Hey, everyone!

I've been both looking forward to and dreading this post, ngl. But now that the holidays are over and I'm looking at the new year, I've decided to slow down. 👇

What does that mean?

Mostly it just means that I'm not going to be participating in every event that catches my eye; not writing every idea that comes to mind. There's also a flipside to that, though! It means I'm going to be taking the time to finish "Take Me Away", "Check Me Out", and to work on "A Kingdom to Fall". I have another writing project that I'm looking forward to sharing with you, as well.

It also means I'll more than likely open my askbox for prompts and suggestions now and again. It's something I've thought about a lot this year, but I haven't really had the time to commit to doing anything like that. And, honestly, I didn't think anyone would be interested. But I want to continue my involvement in the fandom, and continue to utilize my tumblr for little things like writing prompts and headcanon questions and "get-to-know-me"s.

It also means that I get to make a dent in my "marked for later" rec list on AO3 (if you have a fic you think I should read, send it my way!). I've had a growing list of fics this last year and I'd really like to make sure I have the time to enjoy some of them!

The only reason I've been dreading this is because... Well, it means that I'm promising to commit to the projects I have going and the one that I'm about to start. 😅 But, reminder to myself and all of you, that just because those are my focuses and I'm slowing down, does NOT mean that I'm not going to write other nonsense. Because I don't think I'd function if I couldn't have other ideas going. It just means I'm hoping to have fewer stories put out in one year.

In any case, if you made it this far in my rambling -- I appreciate you guys so much! Like, you've made this experience so amazing and fun. And this decision has a lot to do with everyone who has interacted on my tumblr or on my stories this year.

A little F/O chat! :) [and me venting a lil]

I never really personally held the belief of like... Your f/o liking you the way you like them in a funky au sort of way (not to discredit anyone who does!) but like... Lately??? I'm?????

I'd say Formaggio is my main (if not only???) f/o. He has a special spot in my heart 😅

Lately I've listened to a little more JoJo's music on Spotify as background noise again. Including Formaggio's theme (piccolo), but not necessarily more than any other song (so far as I can tell).

Monday morning. I'm driving to work. In an overall bad mood. Guess what song comes on... Piccolo. At first I didn't know why it ended up in my usual playlist, but remembered I've been listening to my Spotify "On Repeat" playlist. So that explains partway where it came from... But...

In all honesty, it lowkey felt like it was him wishing me a good day. 😅 Saying it out loud makes me feel crazy, but it made my brain super happy. And Monday really did go well.

I swear. Sometimes it doesn't even show up in the playlist? And I know I don't have it downloaded, so it often can't play when I'm driving since I rarely leave my mobile data on.

Today I had an awful day at work. Nothing worked out for me all day. I was heading out, trying not to cry until I reached my car. My little catboy Formaggio keychain lightened my heart a little (I'm gonna add a pic of it here cuz he's so cute).

I got to my car, barely holding it together, and start the drive home. And guess what song happens to come on... Despite the lack of WiFi/data... It was piccolo. Another little moment of... Maybe it does mean something. Maybe he knows I feel like a useless, good for nothing, worthless person. And he's trying to comfort me somehow.

Maybe I'm just crazy. Or autistic. Or both. But it makes me happy. And I'd like to think in some weird twist of fate that it's meant to feel the way it does.

*gaaassspppppppp* I'm gon ramble, but tl;dr version up here.

Everything. If I had to pick one thing though, I'd probably say faces. I've come to terms with my oven-mitt hands 😅

Hmmm the thing to draw someday? Like something on my to-do list or like an art goal piece? 🤔 My "to-draw" list is so long, but it's mostly just funny memes/incorrect quotes/situations to be redrawn as chibi comics. On a more serious note, art 'goal' pieces would probably be snapshots of fics I looovveee. Sort of as a 'thank you' to fic authors for being able to paint such a vivid image in my pea brain with their amazing words (and hopefully to make up for me not always commenting orz).

Ramble time c:

Drawing used to be a lot easier for me. I would sketch 2-3 pages every night, line/color half of those sketches, and post them along with quick work doodles. Now I think I'm being hard on myself. Since I'm currently obsessed with HOA and the characters are much more realistic, I get pretty demotivated when I can't capture their likeliness. So, Thank you for calling my art cute ;A; I was pretty afraid of posting in the beginning since I oversimplified all the characters' faces (I still do, but potato potathoe).

Fun fact: I have a written and electronic list of my 'to-draws'. AND they both contain different things because why would I make it easy for myself? 😁 My electronic list is actually my tumblr drafts x'D Current count: 240. For the written ones, I grabbed a few scrap pages of the ideas-- theres a small journal at work too. (Yes, I am an absolute creep who writes people screen names down;; In my defense, my memory is absolute garbage and it'll help me give proper credit if/when I do draw and post it). For the fic redraw list, it's just (so far, 88) screenshots of the fic passage.

I just wanted to pop in to check on you, i guess. I'm sorry that you have to see the negativity directed over here? I don't know if I'm putting it right but, I'm really sorry for that. I haven't been following you for much long but i read your fics and i really really like them. Honestly, it was your smau after which i actually started considering to interact with any. So, i hope you're able to overlook the reactions you are getting right now. I hate to see you feel this way because it's disheartening. You put so much effort and it's beautiful, your work really is. If you feel the need to take a break or something, please do- because afterall you're a human who is putting so much of energy into something and if that something isn't rewarding in any sense, you should take a pause. Keeping that aside. I just wanted you to know that i actually do love this fic. It was your first that i found and then binge read the others. I really like the characters and how they navigate through the mess that we all have faced once in our life or relate to. Like i said earlier, it is hard for me read self inserts, so i read them as any other normal work. And i don't find any "villian" character. To me all of them are extremely human. And like you too, i don't get why there so much of hate directed towards tae. However, i do understand where they are coming from and i don't want to invalidate their opinions and feelings - while reading we tend to get attached to certain characters and tend to see their sides and empathise with them more. I would like to see how and where this fic goes from here, of you wish to continue with it.

I think i have rambled on a lot🙈 anyways i hope you have a good ahead. I love your works and I'm sending a virtual hug to you for giving us so much of yourself and your energy w/o anything in return. All love your wayy❤️ (also, ignore my typos please 🥺)

Time to ramble a bit! I am still battling my pirate induced insomnia... and yesterday my nurse suggested to me that I should try to write out my thoughts more. So, I’m putting this under a cut so as to not subject you all to unwanted musings 😆 A lot of it is about - yep, you guessed it - Ed.

I am so obsessed with how Ed wants to please people. He wants to be whatever the other person wants him to be - and it backfires constantly because he has multiple people he is interacting with. He has Stede, Stede’s crew, Izzy, Calico Jack... they all want a different Ed! I think in We Gull Way Back, it sort of becomes the most apparent that he can’t juggle it all. He tries, but the expectations are so different from each other. And of course there is the problem of “who am I really” that he hasn’t solved yet. God, I can’t wait for him to finally learn about himself... And it will be so interesting to see Edward.

But anyway, pleasing people and giving them what they want. Oh boy do I relate! It’s so painful to watch. And another difficult thing is that up to a point, he is rewarded for his behaviour. He is well loved - I was just talking with a friend about this. He is the dreaded Blackbeard, but really, everyone he interacts with loves him? How is that scary? He has such charisma, though of course he can be terrifying too if he so chooses.

In a way, I’m not surprised that he hasn’t really tried to get to know himself until now. Why would he? It’s a messy business, and there’s a big chance that he won’t like himself in the end. And what’s worse - OTHERS may not like him. He fears this, especially when it comes to Stede. And of course the worst happens, and Stede leaves him. He has no way of knowing what the real reason is... Now I’m thinking of that post that shows Ed as someone who gives up instantly as soon as there’s a setback. It’s so true, and so relatable. I want to hug him and gently encourage him forward! He needs real friends, who would carefully push him forward in those moments. Stede was sort of like that, and Lucius is definitely like that. (I see such potential for their friendship, because Lucius is ALIVE and I won’t hear anything different.) As things are now, he has no one.

This is a true ramble. I’m just writing out loud, I guess.

I watched We Gull Way Back last night and it really is the hardest episode for me, in many ways. (Even harder than Wherever You Go... which is saying a lot!) Part of it is Jack’s bully behavior, which does trigger me a bit, but also the discomfort of both Ed and Stede. I relate to them both in different ways, so it’s sort of double pain. Damn this show, making me feel feelings! I have not really accessed my bullying memories very much in a long time now, but this is bringing it back to the surface (among other things...) No wonder I’m sleeping so poorly. It’s sort of an abuse trauma, I guess? Not the same as what Ed has, but still a trauma. I guess adapting to your company and being a people pleaser is second nature to people with a history of abuse. I haven’t really thought about that until now, not when it comes to myself. I was bullied for years and years, not just on occasion but pretty much constantly. I guess it leaves a mark, even though it was never really physical.

I should talk about this with my nurse next week. I have not talked about these things in years. Maybe it’s time to do that now - maybe enough time has passed and I’m able to distance myself from it? I don’t know.

This got long! I wonder if anyone read up to this point 😅 Thank you if you did. I feel a bit like Ed after his song in Wherever You Go... laid bare in a way. But this is Tumblr - it’s all about yelling into the void here 😆 So I think I’m safe.

I was wondering if you had any tips for engaging more with fandom content besides reblogging with tags and comments. I’m not the greatest at doing that but I’m definitely working on it. And I want to try to get more involved as much as I’m able to.

I’m a writer mostly and definitely can’t draw people so it’s been a little hard for me to put myself out there besides joining big discord’s (which are a lot of fun and I have met some cool people and friends on there).

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love your art and you as well as @leeleebee @alamogirl80 @anstarwar @cobaltbeam and @three-fold-symmetry have inspired me to start trying to draw again. I’ve made a few fun designs on Paint and I’m thinking of putting a few on Redbubble just for fun. I love art and I love seeing your wips and how a piece is developed. Plus all of your stories. I wish I could write long fics and world build half as well as you. Anyway, I just really admire you and thank you for being a bright spot in the fandom and making this little corner more enjoyable for everyone.

Aw, no, thank you for the ask! They are a bit time consuming because they all make great points and I think about my replies for a while, but I don't mind!

Hm, I dunno! Personally, I really love screamy tags, haha, but I don't usually reply to those. I do reply to all the comments I get on Tumblr and AO3, so maybe that's more the type of engagement you're talking about? Other people might feel differently though (if anyone has any tips, maybe comment and anon might see them? <3).

I've always been a fandom artist, until less than a year ago when I started writing, so I really don't know what it's like to not get the kind of attention that art tends to get (versus writing) on Tumblr. But I imagine it's a lot harder to encourage interaction on here if you don't post art. That said, there are quite a few folks I know on here who either don't create content, or only write (and of course I don't say 'only' in a belittling way, as I personally value writing over visual art, but anyway), but because I read their tags or they comment on my stuff, when I see their usernames I'm like, "MY FRIEND!" XD

As or discord, I have trouble engaging on big servers because I just can't keep track of constantly changing usernames and conversations and 50 channels blargh. What's been really great for me is having a tiny little server with just some close friends - but of course, you have to find your people, first, which can be hard.

I'm totally rambling now, but if anyone has advice, again, please comment!

Okay so now I'm just going to scream incoherently about that last paragraph you wrote! T___T Too kind!! I'm in such good company... *sobbing* Seriously though, when I read this ask before bed last night I got teary eyed, haha.

I know visual art isn't for everyone but it makes me so happy when people are willing to try, even though we all suck when we start out and it's frustrating as hell most of the time, haha. But if you enjoy it enough to push through the frustration, then that's great! <3

ghakgh;rkg as for writing, I literally wrote one crap fic in... idk maybe 2001? And I never wrote fiction again until a little less than a year ago. So while I still have no idea what I'm doing, I can confidently say that, a year ago, I was telling friends, "I wish I could write long fics and world build half as well as you." And I'm sure I still don't, but I'm doing it and enjoying it, so :D
