Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

Maya is incredible. I loved her.

I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?

i’d love to give reccs, and i’ll try to go a beginner friendly route! tbh you can pick up whatever here, but since you've read R:SOB i’d immediately follow up with Batman and Robin (2011) #1-8! this first arc is what’s referred to in Maya’s introduction, and it's just. so good.

thank you anon! honestly i have been waiting for someone to ask me that so yes! i do!!! :)

little disclaimer is that my collection is always a work in progress so i don't love how some of my shelves look rn but it changes all the time so that's okay!

here's a general overview and i'll do a shelf by shelf tour under the cut!

starting off with my favourite madoka magica set! i love how dynamic the poses are and they look so badass but delicate at the same time <3

and my second favourite madoka magica set! this madoka was actually my first scale figure ever :)

ofcourse i need a homumado shelf <3 i don't usually put non-scale figs in here but that sitting homura just matches the madoka too well so i had to make an exception!

i try to have a theme for each shelf so as you see this one is like a traditional clothing shelf!

this is my halloweeney shelf! definitely will be expanding this in the future as i am obsessed with halloween <3

these ladies don't have much in common but they all have some hot/deep pink in them so i still like them together!

this is my racing/street style miku shelf! (it's starting to sound far fetched but these shelves all make perfect sense to me ok)

ok this one is not supposed to be like this but neither of them fit anywhere else so they're just chilling down here for now. will change as soon as i get new figs that match either of them!

my beautiful goth girlfriends! they can't really hold hands physically but they are holding hands mentally <3

my beloved annoying men <3 btw dabi is a 1/8 scale and gojo is a 1/7 so it's crazy how big dabi turned out i was so surprised!

chainsaw shelf! sadly this denji turned out kinda bad but together with bishoujo ash williams i do kinda like him....they're cool together :)

and lastly the rest of my horror bishoujo ladies! this shelf is a little empty rn but i have the friday the 13th one, the hellraiser one, the other beetlejuice version (striped jacket), the other pennywise version (coloured instead of monochrome) and the other ash williams version (groovy version aka extra bloody) in the mail rn so that's super exciting!

that's my whole scale figure display! i have some scale figures in boxes that i'm planning on selling and i obviously didn't include any of my nendoroids and prize figures, since those are mostly in boxes rn until i figure out a good way to display them.

AAAH SORRY okay one kiss :D (and i’m kinda in a writing mood so uh)

if you wanna kiss mr jamil viper, don’t worry. i’d like to think he would just ask you straight-up so you don't have to do anything. one day, both of you would just be taking a stroll just chatting. but he had something else on his mind. you two had never actually kissed before. and he wanted to try it out. it was a weird thought. and he tried to ignore it. but the more he did, the more it kept him awake at night. so he finally decided that he wanted to give it a shot. there was no point adding unnecessary stress thinking about it. you two were close enough, right? he’d assess the mood first to make sure. it was the usual banter so that was good. and then he'd finally bring up the courage to finally ask you. "Hey, Prefect... Would you mind if we kissed?" you laugh because you were taken aback. before jamil could take your reaction in a wrong way, you agree with a sweet smile. good job, that laugh and that smile ruined the composure he had built up earlier. it's not showing on his face, but his flushed cheeks say otherwise. regardless, jamil cups your cheeks in his hands once he was given permission. you gaze at each other. you see that there was a softness in his eyes. at the back of your mind you thought of his signature spell that he could have easily used on you. the fact that he hasn't speaks volumes about his feelings towards you. you both slowly lean in towards one another and your lips met in a soft and tender kiss. it was quick and brief but it felt like forever. as you both pulled apart, you rested your foreheads against one another in a state of bliss. you two could get used to this.

I’m gonna pretend that I’m fine after weeks of getting flustered just staring at this in my inbox! Thank you, anon!!! 🥺🥺 You’re making me blush! But, uh, anyways! Let’s talk about Mike Wheeler! 💙

I think that Mike in season 3 is the most interesting version of himself in the entire show because of how hidden his story becomes. In all other seasons, Mike cries openly with other people and expresses his sadness and fears over Will and El.

In season 3, though? Besides the finale, the tearful goodbyes narrated by Hopper, we never see Mike truly cry and explicitly talk through why. Sure, it can be pretty readily implied that it’s because of the Byers leaving, but we don’t hear that aloud. We don’t see exactly who’s on Mike’s mind as those cars pull away. We're left with silent and unsure stares, looks of seeming regret or something else unknown.

Season 3 is truly a huge turning point for Mike, he’s losing his girlfriend and arguably his closest friend in the Party, and it's so easily overlooked because it all happens at the very end of the final episode. Whereas El goes through hell and fights to connect to Billy and save her friends, where Max also feels the weight of his loss, where Will gets his heartbreaking scene at Castle Byers - all the Party members who are very linked to Mike get their emotional moments that season, and we know exactly why they cry.

But Mike dances around his emotions all season long. In consulting Lucas to deal with breaking up and making up with El, in trying to tell El that he loves her without ever saying it, in fighting with Will because "it's not [his] fault [Will doesn't] like girls."

Oh, Mike. I really don't think that Mike was out to hurt Will when he said that. Rather, it's a culmination of heteronormativity and the poor relationship that he has with El and trying to compensate for it. I interpret the outburst as him saying, 'it's not my fault that I'm in a relationship and you're not, so you wouldn't get it.' And by extension, Will being in a relationship would require, normatively, being with a girl.

But at the same time, for a jab that deep - I can't help but question more.

Mike could have said, "it's not my fault you don't like anyone!" or "don't bring her into this!" or even as simple as, "you wouldn't understand!" But no. Mike takes the direct train to sexuality station and brings up the fact that El is a girl. So it seems to me that Mike is very likely harboring something in his heart about why El being a girl is important for him to argue.

But we never know for sure. This moment is never addressed again due to the Mind Flayer’s sudden return. And so it’s up to us as the audience to decide what we think of Mike’s statement. And personally, as I’m sure many of you believe, too, I think that Mike is projecting and trying to hide the fact that he doesn’t like girls onto Will, pushing away his problems to someone he trusts who’s more similar to himself than he realizes.

Tied to his inability to say to El’s face that he loves her, to the fact that they've - reportedly from Hopper - kissed all Summer long with no mention of meaningful conversation, to the very surface-level relational mending his makes by calling El’s outfit “cool” and giving her candy, to the very end of the season where Mike once again denies saying that he loved El just before an open-eyed kiss and a face like this:

Mike doesn’t need to say anything about that kiss for me to know that that’s not the reaction of someone who’s perfectly happy to be back together with his ex-girlfriend. So do I wish that we had a moment of vulnerability for Mike where he expressed his heart in season 3? Yes, but his nonverbals spoke volumes.

So, yeah, I think that in season 3, Mike is very much gay, but he he acts cautiously and self-preservingly because trauma is drowning everything out.

And what is this trauma? I know that I’m working backwards, but I need to bring up that Mike was separated from El for so long in the time of season 2, and I think that that makes him so attached to her in season 3. Think about what else he says in that scene when he admits his love: “I love her and I can’t lose her again.”

As sweet as it is to be reunited to El by the end of season 2, it’s not a clean reunion for Mike. He’s in shambles when he learns that Hopper was lying to him and not letting El even tell Mike that she’s okay.

Not to mention that this isn’t his first but second time almost losing her to the monster that season.

Because of this unstable connection, I think that Mike has built a protective relationship with El, one that focuses on keeping her rather than knowing her, and we see how that all unfolds with his superficial “superhero” complex he has of her in season 4. Season 3 was just the beginning.

And so I think that Mike in season 3 stands as a version of himself that’s confused protectiveness with love. Even though he arguably behaves with that same mindset all the time, it’s at its highest during season 3 because of his never-ending insistence to help El even if she’s capable to do things by herself. Mike isn’t just clingy, he’s worried. Worried for her life. There’s no time to worry about where the problems in their relationship arise, there’s only time to fix them and go back to how they were at equilibrium - when things were normal.

Thus, Mike behaves rather stubbornly. He’s insistent and defensive, not letting a single thing slip through the cracks and risk any more hurt. In doing so, his personality is left far under the surface and unexplored. He only acts to stir up emotions rather than reflect on them, because any pausing to think will only confuse him more. He’s looking ahead, looking at the light, holding onto everything good he has with all the propriety of a 13/14-year-old who has a heart bigger than his head.

Simply put, Mike is a bit of an anti-hero this season. And I think that it's because of this that he starts to get most controversial for the audience.

I’m clearly a Mike apologist, but I genuinely don’t think that he’s out to hurt anyone when he argues with others this season. He’s just stubborn and loud about it, which can definitely be to his fault at times. But in the end, when it comes down to who he loves, I think that season 3 is the era of change, and that ending scene with Hopper’s letter paints the perfect setup for the next seasons to reveal that Mike has a lot more going on under the surface that’s causing all of this. Maybe some regrets, things he wishes he could “turn back the clock” on, regarding, say, Will and El and how he treats them platonically and romantically? Just a thought.

The question of the day for Mike in season 3 stands: is he being selfish or selfless? And I think that it’s a mix of both, blended in with some heavy confusion due to role changing (not needing to protect El) and uncertain affections (not knowing how to figure out what he has with Will).

So, yeah. All in all, I think that Mike is really closeted in season 3 and doesn’t realize it until the final episode, and I honestly love him for it. As someone who’s gone through similar hurdles of internalized homophobia as a teen, it’s really heartwarming to see him grow and figure things out, even if the journey is far from perfect. It’s a humble origin story. And if he somehow ends up being straight and Byler isn’t endgame, well. I’ll be upset at the writers, but the impact still stands.

Headcanon: the babies had a phase where the only ate veggies if Rolan hand fed them

Is that a carrot on a fork? Baby will spit it out and only eat it from their daddy's hand

Admittedly it was a cute phase but Rolan had work to do and his baby demanding to be hand fed by him only was causing him some delays

I actually love the idea of this 😭 I'm obsessed with headcanons about Rolan's child being obsessed with him, and vice versa.

When he realizes that they only want him to hand-feed them, I think he'd find it a little funny - like what a silly little creature my child is

This kinda made me think about him just hand-feeding his kids a lot in general. Like he's one of those parents who would idly start cutting up an apple or peeling an orange and start feeding the slices to his kid while he was holding them or while they were playing, or something along those lines.

OH and that made me think of an equally adorable mental image where he's holding his toddler as he makes dinner, and they have some orange slices or grapes in their hands and they'll eat a few nibbles of each piece before feeding the rest of it to Rolan. And he doesn't even bat an eyelash, he just keeps cooking and eats each piece his kiddo gives to him. It's extra cute if his baby prompts him to open up his mouth by saying "papa..." when they're trying to feed him another piece.

I love dad Rolan so much, it's unreal !!!!

actual question tho, have swanatello's bros tried explaining to him that they're his brothers? and if so, howd he react?

If Swanatello doesn't recognize them when they come to visit him, and they don't obey his commands to leave and try to convince him of their identities... in a best-case scenario, he will ignore them entirely and drive them off regardless. More commonly, he will grow confused and upset by their arguments. (Because now part of his brain is screaming at him that he DOES know them-- and the other part is screaming at him that he DOESN'T, and he doesn't know who to listen to.) They are now, to him, not only dangerous threats that must be driven away, but also actively causing him harm and distress, and he will only grow more aggressive and violent as a result. These scenarios have resulted in some of the worst injuries for his siblings.

HIII don't feel sorry about this omg i love this kind of asks tbh!!!! makes me think about writing and stuff hehe but personally, these are my thoughts:

cheol: strangers to lovers, friends to lovers, anything that is soft, mature love in which he feels safe playing childish bc his partner knows it's all just an act!! a dynamic in which the couple would know when to be playful but immediately gets into it when the situation calls for maturity.

jeonghan: exes to lovers (for some reason if i have an ex2l trope it's always him on top of my mind), brother's best friend (this man too loyal for his own good), rivals to lovers <3

shua: childhood friends in which he doesn't even realize he's been into them bc he thinks it's just obvious that he needs to take care of his friend lol his dumbass thinks it's all platonic when everyone can tell it's not he's in denial

junhui: friends to lovers, cowokers to lovers, roommates to lovers? anything that is somewhat slow paced and happens naturally, that one day just clicks to him that oh... this isn't platonic, is it? unlike shua he isn't in denial even tho he might be oblivious

hoshi: playful love, like introduced from a friend kinda trope!!! i feel like his character would be more open for a love in the first sight kind of thing, and he falls quick and deep. it'd be any trope that, at some point, would be filled with doubts because: are we moving too fast? do we actually understand each other? because hosh can sometimes be too playful for his own good despite his well meaning heart

wonwoo: ah... i can write an essay about his bc he's essentially my muse lol. but wonwoo definitely fits the slowburn trope no matter what title OC has. Whether they're friends, coworkers, friend's sibling, etc etc, it doesn't matter bc to him it only matters that they actually know each other; if it happens, it happens. His character definitely fits the silent pining kinda trope, in which no one even realizes he's into OC until he decides to actually show it. or, the other way around, i feel like he might act oblivious to OC's pining if he doesnt reciprocate the feeling.

jihoon: bestfriend or childhood friends to lovers!!! i feel like his characters fits more into steady, long lasting relationship if anything. so it has to be someone he already knows rather than in the moment kind of thing. perhaps even ex2lovers bc when he loves, he loves long and deep so it's never gonna be easy to move on even though he keeps on telling himself he'll be happy as long as they're happy

seokmin: this is basically my falling flowers trope but unrequited love in which he comforts OC because he's a good friend like that. perhaps he doesn't feel anything in the beginning, perhaps he does, but he really just wanted to comfort OC but things get out of hands bc he's too kind for his own good

mingyu: a trope in which he takes OC for granted bc he thinks their relationship (platonic, fwb, whatever) is a given and when OC has finally had enough and tried to leave that's when he starts to realize what OC really means to him so he tries to win OC back <3

minghao: like wonwoo, he fits the silent pining kinda trope. he thinks he's being subtle, but everyone knows he's in love even though he's not excessive with it. he has reasons for holding himself back though: OC is off limits, whether OC is a friend, his best friend's sibling, or even a friend's ex (!!) he's fine loving from afar until he isn't

seungkwan: this is also one of my fics but, lovers to exes to lovers lol seungkwan is a man with a mission, he knows what he wants and he's ambitious when it comes to it. he loves OC, he really does, but at some point his ambition gets to the best of him and he doesn't even realize until OC calls him out and the rest is history 😗

hansol: this is randomly out of the box compared to the other tropes but: arranged marriage. in which he's just doing it because his parents made him and it's not like he has any romance interest anyway? plus OC would already know what they're getting themselves into so there's no way it would get messy (it would). he was in it because it was his responsibility and he didn't see how it'd be bad for him until feelings get in the way aha

chan: in which he tries to play matchmaker but finds himself seeing OC in a different light the longer it goes. he knows what he wants though, so when he realizes that he's into OC, he'd try to steer OC into him instead ehe

WHEW this took much longer than i thought it would but this was so fun to do 😫 thank you for asking this!!! i purposely didn't consider any non-normal setting like soulmate au and etcetc bc it would get way too long otherwise lol
