Finally, this is the official post for the seventh

F R A X U S D A Y!

Like previous years, Fraxus Day will be celebrated on November 5th!

We had thrown out a small notification post before but we are still sorry that this official post is released with such a delay! We still hope that everyone is looking forward to the day and wants to participate with different sorts of content <3

As usual there will not be a particular prompt for this day, as opposed to the ship week. You can use whatever theme or idea that comes to mind.

However, we do again invite you to pre-celebrate Fraxus Day with us on Halloween, October 31th! Feel free to tag us in any Halloween Fraxus content you create, and we will make sure to reblog it!

Of course, feel free to share Halloween Fraxus and Fraxus Day Fraxus on separate days. Or post a Halloween themed Fraxus Day entry. Or only post a Halloween edition! Everything is possible, we just wanna dedicate the day to this wonderful ship and celebrate.

Either way, you may use the #fraxusday tag for any entries you post on October 31st and/or November 5th, Halloween themed or not!

As usual we, the admins of fuckyeahfraxus, will be hosting this day Although there are no specific prompts, we do ask you to read the rules if you’re not familiar with them or need a reminder.

Everyone is allowed to participate and basically every sort of entry is allowed! Art, fanfic, edits, headcanons, playlists, aesthetics, … everything! Just make sure that it has to do with Fraxus and does not imply something else, something negative, other rivalled ships or trigger topics like non-consensual stuff. There’s also basic things we usually do not reblog on this blog due to certain reasons; basically anything that has to do with harmful stereotyping.

Please make sure to put either fraxusday or fraxus day in the first five tags of your entry! fraxus will suffice, too, if you forget to tag it otherwise but using the first two named tags will make it easier for us to find the entries for this day. Submitting your work to this blog will be perfectly alright as well if that’s how you’d rather want to participate.

Almost each kind of entry is allowed, just please make sure to avoid explicit nsfw content. If you want to submit something suggestive or bordering on nsfw, that’s fine.

Don’t worry about being late! Late entries are always welcome, no matter how late they may be.

Do not steal other people’s art or writing or whatever it may be! That won’t be accepted and that applies not only to this day but in general. This type of behavior won't be tolerated. The same goes for edited artwork, unless you have the explicit permission of the original author to do so.

Cw: a smol kiss, flirting, talks about climate change/environmental waste but thats it!

“Oh, Satan! Look over here!” You tug him along to the next exhibit- this one a collection of art made out of trash fished out of the Pacific Ocean.

As you’re explaining it’s meaning, he stares at you in awe. You were so filled with knowledge about...well, various different things. He learned so much from you, and he was eager to continue learning more. Something about the way you were so passionate about certain things made his heart race, and he was glad that you enjoyed the same refined tastes as him- namely art and books.

“What a shame that so many humans fail to see the beauty in the world around them.” He mused, running his finger along the sculpture you had been talking about. “Not you, though. You have such passion for beauty. It’s admirable.”

He turned to you, locking onto your gaze. It always shocked you how open he was about what he was feeling- the raw honesty creating butterflies in your stomach. A warm smile spread on his lips as he noticed you become flustered.

“What? Are you embarrassed by the truth?” He chuckled, taking one of your hands in both of his.

“I just don’t know what to do with compliments like that...” You murmured back in such a low tone, that he almost didn’t quite catch what you had said.

He blinks for a moment, then pulls you into a hug. Satan was so warm; so soft; so gentle. For a moment, you forgot you were in a crowded public space. He made you feel like the only person in the world sometimes, and there were points where you found yourself completely flustered in public spaces because of his charm.

“Shall we move to the next exhibit?” He mused, looking down at you with sparking eyes.

You nod in agreement, following him along to the the next exhibits. After finishing your tour of the huge art museum, you find yourselves exploring local cafes, trying out various different coffee drinks. Upon returning home, he pauses with you, keeping you just outside of reach from the rest of the brothers who looked on from the mansion windows.

“Mc, today was a lot of fun.” He mused, tracing your jaw with his index finger. “I can’t remember the last time I did something like this.”

You smile. “I had a good time too- especially since you were with me.”

He returns your smile briefly, before leaning down to envelop you in a warm and impassioned kiss. He lips tasted bitter, like coffee, as they moved gently against yours. After pulling away, your eyes locked once more.

“Perhaps we should do this again sometime.” He chuckled, linking his arm in yours and leading you inside.

thank u!!! apologies for how long this answer got i’m waffling

so i feel like the start of my answer is kind of unhelpful because i really just. started writing? no one encouraged me or helped me or anything i really just ran with it on my own. a lot of how i write is really just how i think - the metaphors and similes and weird comparisons come very naturally to me. i have no idea if this is how other writers feel?? but i can’t give any advice on how to develop that beyond just. writing a lot.

i’ve find poetry to be really good emotional outlet, so a lot of what i write about is very repetitive in terms of themes - a lot of mentions of my dad and my stepdad, compulsions, teeth and while i don’t think any of what i wrote back then was very good or worth sharing it did give me a lot of practice in kind of. building a writing headspace?

i can’t really point to any specific inspirations early on because i really didn’t read very much. most of my favourite poems when i was younger were very structured and used a lot of rhyme - i really enjoyed war poetry when we studied it in high school for example - but i’ve always written pretty loosely, a lot of enjambment and playing around with formatting. i felt very drawn to mary oliver and richard siken when i discovered them in my mid-late teens (although i defintiely think that i understand them better rereading them now as an adult).

i’ve written many different styles of poem, but i really only have two style of writing behaviour: either i write total stream-of-consciousness and don’t edit it until i’ve totally run out of things to say - pompeii, reimagined from this collection was written this way, as was FOIL - or i write very conscious of the formatting from the start - some examples of this are unholied, ajovy and my father thinks i should learn how to code. sometimes there’s a crossover like in inelegant fingers but typically its one or the other.

the city i live in now has a pretty big ~poetry scene~ with several regular live readings, even more random events throughout the year, and people regularly coming from out of town to read here. i hiiiiighly recommend going to readings if you live somewhere that you can get to them because it can expose you to a really wide range of writers, from first-timers to people with long publishing histories. being involved in that scene really taught me that there’s really no hierarchy of talent, that there are fantastic writers at every ~skill level~. and more than anything, that it’s possible to hate a poem or poet and still get a lot out of their work. i’ve made a lot of friends through going to and helping to host events too :)

some recommendations for writing that i personally find useful:

spend a lot of time thinking about writing! when i’m out walking, even when i’m getting groceries, i’m spinning thoughts around my head about writing. i frequently think up what i think of as the ‘headline’ of a poem when i’m busy doing something else. write that shit down! keep a notebook or note on your phone and write them down.

relatedly: absolutely cannibalise your old poems. if you’ve got a piece you don’t like any more, or that you could never finish but you’re attached to it, steal your favourite lines and work them into soemthing else, or challenge yourself to rewrite that poem in a new style or format

i keep a word doc full of lines and phrases i liked that i couldn’t fit into anything or that weren’t developed enough that i go back to and take things from. sometimes it’s just a handful of words - ‘ transposing neuroses onto neurons’ sat in that doc for months before i used it - and sometimes its entire lines or even stanzas. i also paste in here things i deleted from existing pieces during editing - sometimes you like something but just not in its current setting yknow

give yourself writing challenges! there are allllll kinds of things you can challenge yourself to do. find a photograph you like, and try to write the feeling it gives you, or write about the content of it, or from the perspective of the person taking the picture. pick an album or song and listen to it on repeat and write. go to different places and see if your writing feels different there. write a poem first thing in the morning or on your lunch break or write before you go to bed. write when you feel really happy, or scared, or angry or tired. write about someone you love, or someone you really hate. write using found-language - blackout poetry is one version, but you can also cut words out and collage them. a friend of mine wrote an amazing poem using ads on gumtree. i like to hit random page on wikipedia and challenge myself to write using the words on that page or about the content of it. i dont find timed challenges helpful but some people do. experiment! ask your friends for prompts! if you’ve friends who also write poetry, give eachother challenges and give eachother feedback

also, if you’ve got friends who write, absolutely ask for their input on a piee if you get stuck. my friend tasha frequently helps me with my grammar and punctuation to improve clarity and many more people have helped me with ideas, promts, challenges and encouragement :)

my personal favourite: write about fiction! a lot of my favourite of my own poems were about this. ;kodos in error - which desperately needs reworking but that i’m nevertheless very proud of - was written about the tarsus iv storyline in the original star trek. the only overt reference to it’s origin is the name kodos in the title - and it’s very much about myself too - but ultimately the entire time i wrote it i was thinking about that plot. i’ve also written about fortnite and the expanse

play around with what you want from a poem. sometimes it’s emotional, sometimes it’s all about the sound and the feel of it in your mouth, sometimes it’s about imagery and giving the reader a clear picture of something. Sometimes you want to do something fun with the formatting, or make it short and snappy or long and lilting. Try not to get stuck in one type of poem.

personally unless i’m writing for a specific thing - like a reading of to submit to a specific journal - i never think about a reader until i’ve finished at least the first draft. i’m not a professional; i share the things i like but ultimately i write for myself only. i don’t need to have an audience in mind for anything i write, and i think that helps me. not everyone finds this easier, but i do.

read poetry! read absolutely anything you can get your hands on - even when you don’t like something you can learn from it. poetry foundations

talk about poetry! i didn’t go to school for creative writing and most of what i learned in HS went totally over my head, but i find talking about poetry i like with friends to be infinitely valuable. discussion will help you find things you didn’t see before, and understand why the things you do like resonate so much, how you can maybe replicate those in your own writing etc.

if you’ve never written before, it is literally never too late to start. just get going! don’t let your inner critic get in the way, just write and write and try not to worry too much about whether its ~good~ until you get more used to writing. there are a thousnad different ways for a poem to be Good. if you write for emotional release and it works then its good. if you write to get other people to understand how you feel and that comes through, its good. if you just want to make it sound a certain way then its good.

OKAY AND RE:THE OG FAIRYTALE, here's a quote that made me feral (and come up with the au in the first place). context: it's the first night, and poor, poor cinderella got a dress from the hazel tree at her mother's grave, went to the festival and no one recognises her.

when I read this, I stg I whispered 'possessive' to the darkness of my bedroom and my brain was like: did you mean: Shane Madej? and now we're 30k in a cinderella au. and uh, regarding the marking? well, all I'll say for now (I haven't written this yet but I have it planned), Shane knows how to take care of his mysterious though beautiful stranger.

and lastly regarding the demon prompt, right now I think I've got a nice plan for summoning ii? my beta to whom I scream about everything, said "I love it so fucking much" and after reading the outline, "I... Am so horny" so I THINK that's good news. Solangelo Fic Awards 2020 - Voting!

Answers:

How did you guys come up with the idea for the CGW Universe? AND How did you decide to do this?

It all sort of started with a bunch of asks Pam was doing for friends, pairing their real life personas with their love interests. She wrote Never Give Up for Alicia and since we were all friends, she added Gen and Rashad, Anitah and Liam and Drake and Pam in, just for fun. The four of us talked alot and happened to all have different LI’s, so it just worked. There was alot of positive feedback and we started joking around about how much trouble we could all get in if we went to Vegas together. We were laughing so hard all our sides hurt. Next thing we knew Anitah was writing One Night in Vegas. We can honestly say we started CGW for us. We didnt really think people would be that interested in reading it. But we had so much fun writing it, like side splitting, up until 2 am laughing so hard we were crying, fun. So we kept going….and here we are!

Did Drake have feelings for Anitah like in the books? I don’t recall ever seeing this talked about in CGW.

This Universe follows the books pretty closely (minus book 3), but that's one change we did make. Drake and Anitah were close like in the books, but more of a brother and sister bond, never any romantic feelings.

How close is Anitah to Canon?

Anitah is pretty close to canon. Books 1 & 2 are basically the same (minus any relationship or feelings for Drake). Book 3 is gone. There was no Anton in our happy CGW world, and there was no unity tour. However, that doesn’t mean something (angsty) won’t happen in the future.

Why hasn’t Brad quit? The money cannot be worth what he has to endure. AND How hasn’t Brad quit yet? No amount of money is worth that abuse.

Look, Brad knows it’s all in good fun, and he gets snippy and sassy all on his own with the Queen and other ladies. We love, love, love Brad and he knows it. He might be a tad scared of the King, but he knows Anitah would have his back when push came to shove.

What’s Anitah’s biggest fear?

On a not deep level, Clowns. She hates clowns, any and everything to do with clowns. Which is why Liam and the other guys challenged the ladies to watch the entire IT movie, because they’re mean and thought it would be an easy way to win a bet but they only ended up getting their asses kicked (literally). On a deeper level- losing anyone she loves, especially Liam. It was explained in the ‘I’ll Stand By You’ 2 parter about her parents and what happened, and why she feels the way she does. So she’s afraid of losing anyone else she cares about.

How did Maxwell end up being an honorary squad member?

When we first started writing the group fics, we all agreed that Maxwell would be more like us, to get into the antics and fuel our love for shenanigans and would want to partake in them with us. We love Maxwell and his quirks and how much fun he is, even though half the time he ends up (unknowingly) spilling our secrets by taking pictures or posting on social media so the other guys find us or find out what we did lol.

Why is your FC for Bastien not Fabricio Zunino? Is it too late to make Fabricio Zunino your FC for him...?

We didn't use Fabricio Zunino for a few reasons.

1) Fabricio’s FC is hot and should be used when he's a LI.

2) We wanted our Bastien to be more fatherly. So we chose an older FC that's still kinda sexy.

Are any of you guys into Open Heart? If you are into Open Heart, what are the chances of Dr. Ramsey making an appearance?

@leelee10898 is the only one of us that reads Open Heart. She's a Bryce stan. @speedyoperarascalparty and @ao719 can't bring themselves to cheat on Drake and Liam. @cocomaxley is a whore for Mr. Sinclaire.

Sorry, no. Chances are Dr. Ramsey won't make an appearance. We haven't entertained any crossovers because some of us (everyone stare at @ao719) doesn't play any of the other books.

Have you guys ever met in person? If you haven’t met in person, would you guys want to, and do you think your day could potentially be almost as eventful as your CGW versions of you?

We haven't met in person, but would love to! It likely won't be as eventful as CGW, but we can guarantee we would likely laugh so hard we'd pee our pants. We already make each other laugh until we're crying and can't breathe.

Are you guys all married with kids?

We all have babies and married big man babies.

I know Drammy is still trying, but will you guys do baby stories for the births and stuff? I’d love to see the guys reactions to becoming daddies AND Will there be a fic about the babies birth?

Yes!! The ladies who are pregnant are already hard at work planning fics about the babies births and after. In fact, we think Alicia and Leo are due soon! Drammy's story will continue with either getting pregnant or processing their feelings about not being able to.

Alicia and Anitah were angels with horns. They got into tons of trouble and hijinks growing up. They dated brothers before. They were hot firemen, pretty to look at, but nobody was home upstairs. They called them the meat head bros.

Did Leo ever meet Alicia’s parents?

Alicia is the only one with siblings. 1 sister (Alexis) and one brother (Andrew). They are twins and older then Alicia.

*I am curious if you could ever see yourself writing a scenario where Liam overheard Anitah in a conversation saying how bored she is, and how nothing he does gives her that satisfaction anymore, and just rolls off ideas, like getting a costume or using more bigger toys, and Liam assumed that she is talking about their sex life when really she is talking about ways of playing with her dog. Without even talking with Anitah Liam tries to surprise her.
