What to watch after Pit Babe? Thai BL Actor Guide
Tumblr media
So you loved Pit Babe and you wanna see your favorite BL boy in his old series? But should you?
Here's a guide...
Tumblr media
Babe AKA Pavel - 2 Moons 2
Pavel is one of my favorite actors in BL (he's this blog's icon for a reason) and actually 2 Moons 2 is pretty good, primarily because of his character, Forth. Who has an actual character evolution and growth arc... in a BL!
Amazing.
Don't be fooled 2 Moons 2 is a reboot and extension of 2 Moons, not a spin off. So you don't have to have watched the first iteration, in fact I recommend against it.
Tumblr media
Anygay, the main couple of 2M2 is naff, but Forth is great and Pavel is great as that character. He has good chemistry with his pairing, and as a BL fan it's not a bad idea to know your 2 Moon's roots. 2 Moons is one of the most popular Y-novels ever written, one of the most popular shows of it's time, and the perpetuator of many Thai BL tropes.
Pavel's second BL, Coffee Melody, is not worth watching.
Tumblr media
If Babe was your favorite character, and Babe & Charlie a pairing you enjoy, I would suggest Big Dragon as your next BL. Same vibes, high heat, chaotic. Another possibility is the slightly lower heat but stil unhinged Laws of Attraction.
You also might like some stuff out of Taiwan. They tend to have the angst + high heat + sappy softness that characterized Charlie + Babe.
Tumblr media
Way AKA Nut - Oxygen
Nut is way different in his previous rolls, as the lead in both Oxygen, and Something in My Room. Same gorgeous voice and soulful eyes and Nut tends to play sensitive torn characters but the similarities end there.
In Oxygen, his acting is stiff. In fact, Oxygen as a whole is pretty stiff. I like it very much and it is a big comfort watch for me because of it's smooth peaceful softness, but it's flawed, slow and awkward. I did an episode by episode thing for that show (my first watch along).
Tumblr media
In his second BL, Something in My Room, Nut demonstrates improved acting and chemistry, but I don't recommend it. It's a touch of horror, built on the "my ghost boyfriend" trope, and it's quite sad.
So try Oxygen but if what you're after is more BL with a Way-like main character then I would recommend Moonlight Chicken or The Eclipse chewy BL with sensitive boys and some grey morality.
Tumblr media
Jeff AKA Pon - Starhunter Talent
Pon was with Starhunter before this and so has appearances in several of their BLs. He's demonstrated great natural acting talent, charisma, and good chemistry with all his pairs but because he often appeared in chaotic ensemble pieces has been easily forgotten (including by me). Starhunter chronically underused him but also utterly miss-applied him.
Tumblr media
Gen Y 2 is actually a master class in flawed casting. They put Pon into a triangle, where he plays a fated mate pining uke against a very stiff lead pair - but they expected us not to want him to be end game. Big mistake. Watch this mess if you just want to see how a good actor can eat up all the air of a bad pair, winning hearts and influencing fans.
Otherwise the Gen Y series is a bloated mess, and I can't recommend them. I trashed watched so you don't have too. While Pon demonstrates skills against a backdrop of ranging tallent, oddball story, and chaotic outcomes I wouldn't have bothered if not for the dumpster fire.
Pon's first BL is The Moment, and he's good in it, but it's a terrible show. Boring and plotless.
He's fantastic in Make A Wish but only a side part (despite what is said in MDL) and his arc is VERY sad. Still it's a GREAT under appreciated BL, I recommend it as the one to watch if you have to see Pon in something else. It's nothing like Pit Babe though.
Yeah our pathway for Pon ends here, so lets look, instead, at
Tumblr media
Alan & Jeff - Bed Friend
This was Sailub's first BL role, and I speak for all of us when I say... more please.
So instead of a watching a pathway for him, I'm gonna give you a few BL suggestions based on the assumption that this side couple was your favorite from this series (as it was mine).
What we had with this pairing was
older sensitive sweetheart sunshine seme + tortured dark scared tsundere uke.
FUN dynamic! Here are some options where this style took center stage:
Bed Friend
Between Us
Love By Chance (AePete only)
Triage
Tokyo in April is
I Became the Main Role of a BL
Tumblr media
Pete & Kenta - Word of Honor
Ah you like your boys troubled with money, questionable morals, and the slight inclination to pick at their fingernails with a knife?
Tumblr media
Neither Garfield nor Ping have done other BLs but here are my picks for BLs that feature this kind of character and dynamic, and we are leaving Thailand for these (since it's darker territory than Thailand usually handles... well).
HIStory 3: Trapped
Long Time No See
Irresistible Love
Word of Honor
Where Your Eyes Linger
Other familiar faces
Tumblr media
NORTH AKA Michael
North played by Michael was our big comedy insert for this show.
But all his roles prior to this were very serious. Till the World Ends and Call It What You Want are practically depressing, even his role in Oxygen is pretty dark. He actually has been in BL a very long time, he was one of Noh's friends in Love Sick at just 18. Frankly, that'd waht you should watch if you are gonna watch any of his back catelogue, but it's NOTHING like Pit Babe or his role in it, still it's the beginning of Thai BL and Noh is a little sunshine of chaos, and it's great so...
Where was I?
If you really want a comedic himbo lead character there are are quite a few out there, and it's a crazy playing field because Japan is in it to win it.
Tumblr media
Leaving aside high school stuff, here are some options:
Cherry Magic (Japan)
Ossan’s Love
Mr Unlucky Can Only Kiss
Love Tractor
Bad Buddy
Love Stage!!
My Day
History 4: Close to You
KIM AKA Benz
Benz who played Kim has also done BL before, En of Love: This Is Love Story, but it is not good and not worth watching.
While I want the queer Falling Into Your Smile or Love O2O or Appledog more than anything, that doesn't exist. We have yet to have a true gaymer BL. (I mean come on, nerdy queer is practically a stereotype at this point, where is it?)
Tumblr media
All of which is to say if Kim was your favorite... I don't know. Our Dating Sim maybe Semantic Error?
WINNER AKA Pop
Pop has lead out a BL, it's a very slow, very queer, very unwatched piece called La Cuisine.
Tumblr media
@heretherebedork and I loved it, but it's hard to imagine anyone else enjoying it. You have to be a hard BL stan to tolerate the pace and pulp quality of that one. He's a completely different character but if you really like the actor try him in La Cuisine, I think he was better cast for that than Pit Babe.
Tumblr media
I just enjoyed the show in general, what's next?
In general, if you really enjoyed Pit Babe itself as a series (and it's multiple couples and chaotic noise and erratic concept) you're in the KinnPorsche camp of Thai BL. I actually made a "watch next" pathways and rating guide for that show, which might work for you.
Specifically I would say Manner of Death. It's a little more focused in character and plot but still a wild ride. And MaxTul are the Kings for a reason.
You might also try Not Me, Never Let Me Go, and 3 Will Be Free although all of these, coming from GMMTV, are lower heat levels than Pit Babe.
Finally, seriously, try The Sign. I know it was airing "in competition" but there is room in your heart for both shows. I promise. They have the same wild sexy energy, and are loads of fun.

List of Thai BL dramas i've watched with short opinions about them i guess :P
Thai BLs that i finished:
A Boss and a Babe. It's cute for what it is, i loved the gaming friendships and i'm a sucker for forcebook. 7/10 need more unhinged energy from book.
A Tale of Thousand Stars/Our Skyy 2 : Bad Buddy x A Tale Of Thousand stars. this show reminds me a lot of early to mid 2000s lakorns. it's a beautiful by the book love story, i appreciated that a bl got to take a spin on this kind of quiet thai story. 8/10 loved it but still too vanilla for my taste.
Bake Me Please. Guide Kantapon is the cutest man alive and CAKES! that it, that all i have for this show. 6/10 it's a show that exist.
Be My Favorite. damn fluke gawin is so pretty what was this show about again? :P i'm kidding, i actually really liked this show. i watched it when i had zero knowledge about bl industry, i was oblivious about krist's controversy and i find krist acting to be charming and think kawee is very relatable as a cringe fail human myself. 8.5/10 this show made me want to collected weird thingies.
Cherry Magic (Thailand). oh boy this show. it's was everything to me also the only show so far that i've written extensively on this site. here is my personal feeling about this show. 9.5/10 would kill for taynew.
Cooking Crush. what! the fuc$! look look, i just learned that both offgun are older than me. when i first saw the show i thought they were some rookie actors with how young they looks. watching cute bl is gonna be the death of me. anywho this show is supercute don't have a lot of thought about it though. 7.5/10 cutting half a point cause of no samsee x metha.
Cutie Pie/Naughty Babe. what a fuckin legend of a series. all the characters have zero braincells and somehow all the rich pretty boys are engaged to each other and by arranged marriages nonetheless. wtf is this fanfic version of thailand and where can i get hit by a truck and get isekai to it. 7.5/10 still haven't watch Cutie Pie 2 U, i hope it get dumber.
Enchanté. this show is so dummmb it should've go full camp reverse harem yaoi nonsense but it didn't and ended up being kinda boring. 6.5/10. meh, i'm still a sucker for forcebook.
Last Twilight. UGHHH!! i'm still so mad. this show was going to be THE SHOW for me then ep 11-12 happened i legit mentally check out halfway through ep 12 and i basically blocked the ending from my mind. this show came out at the right place and the right time for me, the first 9 episodes helped me through a very tough time in my life. the story of two people helping each other finding their way out of the dark was very compelling to me. ughh. 5.5/10 (9/10 for ep 1-9) P'Aof why are you like this!!
Laws Of Attraction. yassssssss this show slay(literally :P) the show is a breath of fresh air for me despite how very lakorn of it is. i'm glad that there is a bl that feel this soapy and campy cause like i do love my angsty and innocent school bls but the industry really need show like laws of attraction. jamfilm also were very great in their roles espically film, charn is the most babygirl corrupted cute evil lawyer of all time. 9/10 no note headempty only charn's evil smirks in my mind
La Pluie. now, this is a romance. this show is one of the most romanctic media that i personally have experience. i loved that the show took the cheesy premise of soulmates and work it so well to do both deconstruction and exploration of the trope. i think using rain, thing that isolated people as a narrative tool for love connection is absolutely brilliant. last but not least pat is just the perfect bl love interest, he's an very idealized character but he do feels like an actual person. i want to give a shout out to Pee Peerawich the way he said "มันหนาวอ่ะ" in ep 8 sent me, the raspy voice, the eye twich and combo those with a back cuddle, sir! you just commited a mass murders with that move. 9/10 plz i need season two with my baby boy tien.
Love in Translation. the unhingendness of that first meeting is probably my favorite bl meet cute. look if you don't get into a fistfight with the guy you destined to be with then what is the point of life. this show fake date is very well done it's doesn't feel forced like in a lot of other bls and it make the growing attraction feels very genuine and it pay off in one of the best sex scenes in all of bl, yang is such a freak and i loved him for it. 8/10 the last two episodes did got slightly off the rail for me but i still enjoyed the show.
Moonlight Chicken. one of the most beautiful shows i ever watched. when watching this show i can feels, smells and tastes everything it depicted. from the comfort khao man gai to jim's loneliness, from alan's heartbreak to liming and heart's midnight motorcycle ride. this show gave me all the feels and i still can't completely shake it off. 9.9/10 this show is a healing.
My School President. These boys!!!! i can't, i loved these boys so much, all the boys, YES ALL OF THEM! this show is on the opposite spectrum of Moonlight Chicken for me. while MC give me the good heartaches this show give me unbridled joy it's like heartstopper on cracks. i absolutely adored tinn and gun and the show relentless optimism about thier first love. love is awesome no matter the romantic, familial or platonic kind and i think this show hit the marks with all three. 10/10(i'm super bias but fuck it idc i even liked the singing) this show made me started watching thai bl and it always will have a place in my heart.
My Ride. this show is lacking in intimacy but making up by being all heart. could this show be better if they fleshed out and explore more of tawan and his cheating bf's relationship, maybe but i'm happy for what we got. 8/10 mork and tawan were very cutie patootie, i don't remember much about the het and the side couple were just st ok.
Step by Step. man trisanu is exactly the same height at me and i want everyone to know that is the only reason i started this show🤣 . i feels like this show have a lot to say about stuff but i kinda got lost staring at man trisanu while watching. one thing i really loved is the very fem *ตุ๊ด coworker who got to be a real character not just a jokey sidekick and having a loving relationship with a hottie. 7.5/10 can i get more man trisanu in bl plz.
Triage. asshole doctor stuck in a timeloop for him to find the meaning of life, yes plz give it to me. i loved stories about assholes who need to better themself for love and other junk. tinn and tol are both grumpy bitches and i just loved that the show use the timeloop to soften these nerds. at the end i just want to wrap them in blanket and let's them cuddle each other forever. 8.5/10 the last ep is bit convoluted but i forgave the show for that cute clocktower kiss.
You're My Sky. i started this show for my boy suar and he did not disappointed. the pining and the longing for an older boy who been there for you most you life, chef kiss. this show also very beautiful to look at. 8/10 i'm kinda meh about the side couples, i do think they all got the "good ending" for their stories.
Thai BLs that i didn't finish or gave up and skipped to the ending:
Bad Buddy. Oh boy, am i gonna get murder for this??? sorry but idk why i didn't wholeheartedly love and give this show my undivided attention. i watched this show very weird and out of order, i started with the last ep than just watch other episodes in bit and peice. i think i've seen 70% of this show. plz forgive me this is the first thai bl i tried to get into but can't. maybe i need to give this show another chance and watch it properly. or idk maybe cause the way i watched it, it's ruined for me forever. 6.5/10 i loved the rooftop kiss plz don't kill me.
Dangerous Romance. this show is trash and not the good kind, how this show depicted relationship between a rich asshole and a poor boy feels very gross to me. i fast forward a bunch and gave up after the not just dumb but very cruel breakup. 4/10 it's watchable if you ignore the plot and the chatacters.
Hidden Agenda. wow this is the most nothing show that ever nothing for me. it's a perfected white noise while playing chill video games. i stopped watching after ep 8 cause look like there going to be a dumb break up, i have no desire to revisit this show. 5/10 joongdunk were kinda cutes.
The Miracle of Teddy Bear. this show is too god damn long with too many side plots the one and a half hour per episode killed the momentum for me. i liked the show and do think i want to revisit and finish it one day. 6/10 for now.
Vice Versa. why are they giving jimmysea this show. this show is so boring for me, i gave up in episode 6. 4/10 gmmtv give my babies better shows!!
Thai BLs that i've watched all the sex scenes and have no intention of watching the actual show:
Kinnporsche: heheehehhehehe everyone were so hot, too bad i don't like rich mafia story. mile being a nepobaby also significantly killed the mood for me. 55555/dead bodyguards (idk how many there are but i don't care) the ost are bangers though.
Venus in the Sky and Love in the Air. cringe gay sex for the wins. 69/420.
ok, whoo that was a lot. gonna pin this cause i don't think anyone want to read all that in one sitting. i think i'm gonna make another post for non thai BLs in the near future. thanks for reading my unhinged opinions hope i'm not gonna get moider for it 55555555.

2023 BL Breakout Actors
I really hope to see more of these actors next year.
Tumblr media
Louis Chiang | Kiseki: Dear to Me
He played a tiny lovesick tyrant who pined for his childhood bff and fellow gang member. I could've watched an entire drama just about him and his journey from impulsive orphan thug to feisty romantic. He was simply electric.
Suggested Role: There's a sports trend in BL right now, and he's so good at the physicality of acting that I'd love to see him play a competitive professional tennis player who's conflicted when he's forced to partner with his nemesis.
Tumblr media
Lim Ji Sub | The Eighth Sense
He had to play such a heavy character -- a college student and surfer suffering from depression and survivor's guilt -- and his heartbreaking performance made you want to reach through the screen and give him a hug.
Suggested Role: South Korea does slice of life SO well that I'd really love to see him switch it up and pine for someone in a quasi comedic role. He could play a young real estate agent who starts to fall for one of his picky clients, and they learn together that the perfect home is one you make and not one you find.
Tumblr media
Film Thanapat Kawila | Laws of Attraction
I honestly did not enjoy this drama, but I did enjoy his performance. He is so captivating as Charn -- this scenery-chewing, maniacal, traumatized, good-boy-turned-bad lawyer -- that his romantic love interest could not manage to keep up.
Suggested Role: I dunno. I feel like I'd happily watch him play this role again, and take down another corrupt politician.
Tumblr media
An Jeong Gyun | Love Class 2
It's so easy to get lost in an anthology when there's three couples and when you're not traditionally attractive, but his character stole the whole damn series. He was so bold and upfront about his emotions in a mature and refreshing way that it made you ignore the beige flags of playful manipulation that comes with courtship, and root for him to win his crush's heart.
Suggested Role: He's actually older (30), and I appreciate that South Korea is exploring more love stories between older men as Thailand conquers the under 25 demo. So for him, I'd say a divorced storyline. Maybe explore the story of how two ex-husbands rebuild their lives apart and rediscover their friendship while they fall for other people.
Tumblr media
"Silvy" Pavida | The Warp Effect
Speaking of bloated casts, this series had like a million people in it playing characters of a variety of genders and sexualities, because it was intended to be -- in part -- a modern sex guide that pushed against traditional constructs. But in the midst of all that was a brief performance by Silvy, who was only tasked with playing an aspiring "plus size" actress, but managed to leave a lasting impression, making you want more.
Suggested Role: She's a singer and she's half-Italian. There's gotta be something we can do with that. Maybe the story of a shy singer, who is often hired to record tracks for rising tone-deaf artists, and is encouraged by one to make her debut as her opening act and help her write a romantic duet in Italian for her international audience.
***
Now...most of us agree that Step by Step was...not great. But it did have a lot of Thai actors that I hope to see again soon -- in an entirely different storyline far away from whatever the hell that was.
Tumblr media
"Saint" Paramee Matthanadul | Step by Step
Was his character a whiny little shit? Yes. Is he so gorgeous you almost forgot how hot his big brother was? Also, yes. The fandom was pissed his romantic subplot did not get a resolution, because there was so much he could've done with this character if given the opportunity.
Suggested Role: I think he has baby girl potential, so I really want to see him either play a spoiled mafia kid who falls for his mentor OR a rich kid pretending to be a working class waiter at the restaurant he owns, marinated in gay panic every time the head chef scolds him.
Tumblr media
Zorzo Nathanan Akkharakitwattanakul | Step by Step
I have yet to watch a proper GL series, but if she was starring in it, I'd clear my TV schedule. There's something so femme fatale about her and her features. She had no business stealing scenes from the nearly full cast of dudes, but she did. Every time.
Suggested Role: I really want to see her in a mystery produced by whoever is doing The Sign right now. Maybe she could play an undercover cop trying to solve a missing person's case in a small town, and her love interest is married to her prime suspect.
Tumblr media
"Ben" Bunyapol Likhitamnuayporn | Step by Step
Last, but not least, is the adorable Ben. Who, in spite of wasting our time with the most anticlimactic drama ending, played a character that was an inspiration to every office employee who has been dying to tell their ungrateful and abusive boss to step back and let a bitch cook. He played him with such naiveté and earnestness that it made you want more for his character than a lustful boss who struggled not to abuse his power.
Suggested Role: It's so easy for him to get sucked into passive roles opposite the zaddys of BL, so I'd like to see how he fairs against an equal. Maybe another workplace ensemble comedy where he plays a reporter posing as an intern at a new social media company run by an unhinged mogul spreading fake news, and falls for another intern who helps him take the company down.

10 Favourite Series/Movies I watched in 2022
Vice Versa (dir. X Nuttapong Mongkolsawas) Genre:  Body Swap,   Alternate Universe,  Romance, Friendship Starring: Jimmy Jitaraphol Potiwihok, Sea Tawinan Anukoolprasert Language: Thai
Talay wakes up in the body of a man named Tess and reencounters Puen, a famous actor who is now in the body of Tun following an accident. The two have Phuwadol, a nurse who helps people from the same universe they left behind, to guide them through life in this new universe. According to Phuwadol, there's a chance they may be one another's "portkey," people who can help them return to where they came from once they have completed what they need to achieve. Tun and Talay have a mission to fulfil, and they are assisted by their pals Kita, Fuse, and Friend Credits members Up and Aou. Love and friendship grow with them in the new universe. What will happen with their mission? Will they be able to get back to their home universe?
I really wish we got to see more of Tess and Tun, and just because I love Ohm and Nanon. They really are important characters for the plot. So I wish we got to know them more and find out what happened to them properly? But other than that, the visuals were all simply stunning. Loved the colouring and the locations were also so new and fresh. I definitely fell in love with Sea after this. Really enjoyed seeing Neo as well. Also not sure if the concept for this edit came out well, but I loved how the episodes were colour focussed. And so I added each new colour one at a time for every episode.

A little weekend update from my corner of drama world over here!
1) On the Old GMMTV Challenge front: I have my very last installment of my Bad Buddy OGMMTVC Meta Series dropping tomorrow morning! What a labor of love this series has been — it’s allowed me to see Bad Buddy in almost all the facets in which I’ve thought about it over this past year in which I’ve discovered Thai BLs, and to apply all the comparative lenses from the older shows I’ve previously consumed. It’s been a JOY, and huge thanks to those of you who have read along each of my mini theses! Tomorrow, I’ll meditate on the emotional openness that allowed Pran to move to Singapore, away from Pat, Dissaya, and Thailand. Stay tuned!
2) I have a very full slate of dramas going at the moment, and because I’m recovering from this GNARLY flu that I got (great job, flu shot), I am not committing to writing meta for every show. That being said, I hauled the first two episodes of The Sign last night; this is actually my first Idol Factory show, and first Billy show, and, uh — IT’S REALLY GOOD. Did NOT expect this. It’s not only coherent — the plot AND the acting are EXCELLENT, Billy and Babe have FANTASTIC chemistry, I love the tomfoolery of friend Yai, and Thongthai and Khem’s cute weirdness in these studly cop bods has me howling. I love this show! I’m so happy to support Saint in his next venture, and I’ll be coming up on Secret Crush on You soon for the OGMMTVC to get familiar with the early side of Idol Factory as well. I would like to see this dude Babe in more shows! He’s REAL good.
3) I’m also not writing about Bake Me Please, and I have to catch up on watching this, but thank goodness for short series that move move move, because I see we have a MingDean ShinPeach smooch in today’s episode, and, yay! The plot is a little whatever, but I think Guide’s underrated as an actor, because he and Ohm also have EXCELLENT chemistry.
4) My god, what’s coming out this week — the rest of Shadow, the premiere of Cherry Magic Thailand. Really wish I had time to watch Cooking Crush, but I’ll catch up sometime on that. The vital ones — Last Twilight, What Did You Eat Yesterday?, and my EOY watch of La Pluie — are filling my heart. Such good shows on.
We keep truckin’ — see you tomorrow for the end of the BBS OGMMTVC meta series!

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game
Tagged by @telomeke and @chickenstrangers - thank you for inviting me to play! I had to keep reminding myself this is for Thai shows only, because I kept trying to include Japanese bls, my beloveds. But I got it now and I wrote way too much, as I am wont to do. :)))
Favorite Thai QL: I was just talking with @waitmyturtles about the distinction between favorite and best in comparing two major Thai bls–I Told Sunset About You and Bad Buddy. For me, ITSAY is objectively the best Thai bl ever made, in terms of its quality, fidelity to its vision, and execution of its story and themes. But Bad Buddy is my favorite. It is not without its flaws, but it is peak storytelling and it does my absolute favorite thing in any romance–it gets the couple together early in the story and lets me live in their relationship and see how they would navigate the many challenges coming their way while protecting their relationship. I’m not sure any other Thai ql drama will ever top it for me (but please do keep trying, Thailand).
Favorite pairing: *steps on soap box, taps mic* The branded pairing system in Thai ql, while good for marketing and (sometimes) for actor relationships/chemistry and job security, is a hindrance to art and severely limits the storytelling capabilities of Thai dramas. I am not opposed to pairs who choose it working together across multiple projects, but I absolutely hate the real person shipping culture it encourages and the restrictions it places on some actors and productions. I have seen some positive signs of a loosening around these restrictions–like Earth and Mix both being allowed to play intimate scenes with other actors in Moonlight Chicken–but it still prevents actors from having more freedom to try different projects and often results in poor casting choices because everything has to be worked around a set pair instead of a more organic casting process.
Ahem. All of that said, I think if I had to name a pair I like best and am most comfortable with, it would be Off and Gun. They work well together, their shows only get better over time, they don’t do the performative shit where they pretend they might be dating, and they seem to have a strong friendship and comfortable dynamic that insulates them somewhat from the worst of the shipper nonsense. I am very much looking forward to Cooking Crush.
Most underrated actor: Fluke Pusit. If The Warp Effect and A Boss and a Babe didn’t convince GMMTV that this man is ready to headline his own drama, I don’t know what will!
Favorite main character: Teh, I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon. Yes, both shows, and before you all come yell at me: I SAID WHAT I SAID. As I’ve mentioned before, Teh is a masterpiece of mess. He loves deeply and obsessively, he is passionate and mercurial in the extreme, and he is just as likely to crush you as he is to make your heart soar. In the category of emotional intensity he is unbeatable. He is fascinating to watch, and he is both infuriating and entirely legible, because every thought, feeling, and impulse are right there on his sleeve for you to see. He’s a legendary character crafted by brilliant writers and portrayed by one of the most talented young actors in Thailand, and I love him!
Favorite side character: I am cheating and naming two: our favorite gay uncles Cheep and Dej from My Ride. I know @bengiyo feels me on this one. I love their relationship dynamic where they are constantly (lovingly) nagging at each other, I love the way they care for Mork, I love the delight they take in raising and guiding baby gays, and I even love their bad flashback wigs.
Favorite scene in a QL: Teh and Oh-aew, on the floor, end of episode 3 of ITSAY. You know the one. I will never forget the raw intensity of that scene or the way I literally stopped breathing the first time I saw it. Holy shit. Honorable mention to Bad Buddy rooftop kiss, but I figure almost everyone else is going to talk about that one.
Favorite line in a QL: Ya know, when I think about great lines of dialogue, my mind invariably goes to Japanese and Korean dramas. I think that’s mostly because of my own language limitations and translation issues - Thai to English is tough and we get a lot of awkward subs as a result. But one I will always remember is from Love Sick, when Noh says to Phun: “It’s a terrible feeling, not knowing where the line between us is, isn’t it?”
Because woof, yes Noh it is!
Most anticipated QL (& why): Joining the chorus for Only Friends, because I usually love Jojo’s shows and I am here for a good time. I am also really happy we’re finally getting some Thai historicals, and am very much hoping I Feel You Linger in the Air will be great.
Healthiest relationship in a QL: This is a tough one because these are romance dramas, which means most of the romances are unhealthy by design, because that’s what the plot is about! You mostly see healthy relationships in the sides who are there to impart their wisdom (like Three and Zo in A Boss and a Babe). I will use this excuse to give a shout out to Patts from La Pluie, however, for modeling honest communication through most of the show (which was not reciprocated, which is what made the relationship unhealthy and led to the big conflict). Listen to La Pluie and communicate with your partners, fam!
Most toxic relationship in a QL: I don’t know if it’s the most toxic, but I was just talking to @bengiyo @neuroticbookworm and @wen-kexing-apologist about how much I hate the relationship dynamic that @absolutebl calls “Tom and Jerry.” This is where one person relentlessly chases the other as they vocally resist, often via negging and bullying. This came up in our My Ride discussion about Toy and Boss, and it’s also the dynamic of the main couple in My Engineer, which is why I don’t really like that drama despite Ram and King. I HATE THE TOM AND JERRY DYNAMIC SO MUCH. I don’t think it’s cute, I don’t think it’s funny, and I don’t root for these couples.
Guilty pleasure series: I don’t feel guilty about my pleasures. :)
Most underrated series: Make it Right. I finally watched this recently thanks to @waitmyturtles and @bengiyo and it was so much better than I expected. I have written about both seasons and how much joy I got out of my watch despite the undeniable messiness of the show. This one deserves more respect as a Thai bl legacy show that paved the way for many others.
Tagging @shortpplfedup @ginnymoonbeam @so-much-yet-to-learn @blmpff @troubled-mind @rocketturtle4 @lurkingteapot @nieves-de-sugui @syrena-del-mar @emotionallychargedtowel @slayerkitty @callipigio in case you want to play.
Feel free to ignore if not and definitely don’t feel obligated to write whole ass essays just because I’m a wordy b. :)

Have u heard about ohm? I feel like a lot of bl fans on here are ignoring what happened and what he has done the same for gulf
If it doesn't come across my dash, I have no idea what any of these people do in real life. None. But @gunsatthaphan has been writing about it.
I sit strictly in the Kill Your Heroes boat. Not literally, that's murder and messy, but figuratively I'm always cheering for us to kill our idols. I watched a beloved author embrace being a TERF and learned Gandhi and Mother Teresa were shitty people. Therefore, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to people who are idolized. Hence why I thoroughly enjoy these little fictional worlds.
Celebrities don't pay my bills, and I don't know them in real life, so I'm also less bothered by their antics. Not in the sense that I excuse the behavior, but in the realm of I can only control what I can control, which is surprisingly... a lot. Ohm already issued a very PR-written apology, so focusing the conversation on him seems to miss the real issue - bullying, which is a societal problem that still persists. We could stop watching his series, but what would actually help is educating people about why what he did was upsetting and harmful, so others don't do the same - [resources] Anti-Bullying Centre (ABC); Sokantat et al. (2012, December). Thai Culture: The Foundation of School Bullying. International Journal of Criminal Justice Science, 16(2), 369-384.
Once again, don't think I'm dismissing his actions, but often I see people I love and care for get upset at celebrity behavior like a rapper saying homophobic quips, yet they are fine with their grandpappy sprinkling subtle homophobic comments at the dinner table every week because "that's just how he was raised."
Sometimes the call is coming from the inside the house!
I can't control what an actor did ten plus years ago and might even continue doing today, but I can guide the people I surround myself with and my community members in harm reduction and operating from a place of kindness and care rather than hurt or fear.
I'm trying to hold the people I know more accountable than people I have never met.
People make mistakes, but some of the people we know have a pattern we continue to dismiss because we love them. People can and should evolve, but sometimes we need a shove away from a problematic path to help us find the light. Maybe Ohm had someone in his life that gave him that shove. Maybe not. But know that I am more than open to being shoved by people I cause harm to (knowingly and unintentionally), so like the TSA announces every two seconds in the airport, "if you see something, say something."
Shove me.
Educate me.

None of my summer course students came today, so I spent an hour understanding my thoughts about BBS and KP. It's not the best written thing I can produce, but I want to share...
After watching a few Thai bl shows, I'm trying to understand why I got so caught on KinnPorsche and Bad Buddy .
I think it's in the details.
Both shows have these pairs of extremely strong actors. They are SO in their characters when they act, it's actually beautiful to watch. They are not awckword with each other and both directors and actors aren't afraid to show real and jenuine affection. The love scenes and kissing scenes aren't just for the sake of showing two boys kissing or making out. They are a true expression of emotions. I will explain.
KinnPorsche
1. Non-verbal communication -
First, the bathroom scene which has been talked about from every possible angle... There is one tiny, blink and you miss it moment, when Porsche looks at Kinn, then down as if asking him "are we doing this?", and Kinn gives him a nod and goes straight for his pants. When I noticed that I was screaming inside! This is so realistic and feels so unscripted. They are just in it and playing off each other. They ARE Kinn and Porsche in that moment.
Second, the pool scene - again a tiny detail, when Porsche moves to the other side of the pool and reaches for Kinn. He holds him and guides him, signalling to him with touch and eye contact. This feels so natural and I am crazy for it.
I'm sure there are more moments like these, but this what comes to mind rn.
2. Porsche's hugs - when he kisses Kinn before he leaves him in ep.6. It feels so desperate. Like he wants to absorb Kinn or be absorbed into Kinn.
Then there are the hugs when they finish after the bathroom scene and the pool scene. Again. ALL THE EMOTIONS.
Thinking about it, after watching Apo talk about the way he sees KP's relationship and his views about relationships and sex in general, it all falls into place. During the Drama Talk panel he said that relationships (I'm paraphrasing here, so go with me) are about being and doing for the person you love. Porsche doesn't care about the act itself and the sex is not about having sex, it's about being what your partner needs. In another video they talk about the bathroom scene and he says that they call it "helping each other", which is such a nice way to think about it. It's all about loving your partner and having someone with you who loves you back.
Bad Buddy
1. The bedroom scene after the rugby match - this feels so real to me. They are so comfortable with each other. I'm still trying to figure this one out. It's all in the details again. The way that Pran's hand just lays on Pat's hip when Pat pinns him to the bed. Pran tells him to go away, but he doesn't really want him to go away. He just gives him this little loving kiss while placing his other hand on Pat's back. This is so realistic. It doesn't feel like I'm watching an engeneered show about teenagers awkwardly playing games. This is tiny moments of real life and it's fucking beautiful!
2. Discussions about sex - Pat and Pran do not have sex until they are on their "honeymoon". I think it's meant to neutralize the top/bottom discussion, which Aof actively chose to leave out of the show. They take their time.
Korn is obsessed with knowing wheather they've had sex and they are very confident telling him "not yet" and actually saying "it's non of your business". When they do get to it, they are sure. They love each other and they are each other's safe space. Which is beautiful.
This is setting up the healthy and beautiful sexual part of their relationship, which we get to witness in the final episode.
After all this, I think the main reason I am in love with these shows is the fact that they take the "queer sex" out of of the equation. It's not to say that there is non of it, but it's different. They are treating it as a relationship between two people who love each other, actually saying that being LGBTQ+ is not about what kind of sex you have. It is however, about love.
Thank you for reading what goes on inside my brain. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

You went to Thailand? How was the experience?
I loved Thailand! In one of the greatest ironies of my life, I went back in 2019 before I had ever seen a BL, so I can’t speak much to the fan experience, but the country itself is beautiful—and so welcoming!
We went to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Chiang Mai was my favorite—partially because I preferred their food and partially because we went to an elephant sanctuary there that was simply amazing. And everything is so cheap. We were staying in 5-star hotels for $50 a night. I got $200 cash exchanged at the airport, we were there for 3 weeks, and I didn’t even spend all of it.
The biggest culture shock was the monarchy and how strict it is. You can be jailed for saying anything negative about the king, so instead of answering questions about him, our tour guides would literally just tell us to Google it. Every hotel we stayed in had a HUGE picture of him in the lobby. Most restaurants did too. Having been to Thailand, it’s actually astounding to me that Thai media manages to never mention the monarchy because it seems so prevalent in everyday life there.
The only downside for me personally was that there are a lot of stray dogs running around and I have pretty severe PTSD about unleashed dogs after being attacked by an unleashed pit bull while jogging. That was not something I had even thought to look up before going. Luckily, I had my sister with me and was able to acclimate pretty quickly but it was a shock for sure.
I definitely plan to go back now that I speak more of the language, but I don’t really have a desire to go to fan meets or anything like that. I get claustrophobic in large crowds and I’m honestly not sure I could stand the second-hand embarrassment. I can barely watch videos of those fan meets without cringing. (Why are people still asking actors which one tops and which one bottoms? Is it not 2023??)
Also, every massage parlor you go in has a “No Happy Endings” sign on the wall, which is both funny and sad.

The Rise of Fintech: Investment Opportunities in India’s Financial Sector
Invest in India: Unlocking the Fintech Goldmine
The funding area of India is going through a rollercoaster ride, fueled by the great acceleration of the fintech industry. Money doesn't like movements that don't promise any benefits to the shareholders, and the Indian market attracts investors with a promising return. Here, we offer a glimpse into the investment goldmine that is the fintech industry in India, examining the crucial underlying trends, dynamics, actors, and futuristic tech.
The Fintech Boom in India
Market Size and Growth: According to the fintech adoption rate globally, India scored the highest, with a figure of 87% that skyrocketed beyond the global average of 64%. The Indian fintech industry’s market size hit 50 billion USD in 2021, and the area is forecast to tally up to about 150 billion USD by 2025. Let's fasten the nets; the trip is right ahead!
Segments to Watch:
Payments: The Indian payments system is expected to attain 100  trillion transactions and 50 billion revenue by 2030, which is quite positive. Digital wallets, UPIs, and tap-and-go payments are, undoubtedly, the revolution.
Digital Lending: When we consider that in 2022, the market size for digital lending was $270 billion, while in 2023 it is projected to reach 350 billion dollars, there is no doubt of the rise in popularity of this dimension in the future. Small businesses and individuals are not poor outcasts in a vast pool of people or negligible compared to high-tech production tools, but instead play a very important role in driving the economy forward.
InsurTech: India ranks second on the list of insurance technologies in the Asia-Pacific. It is even thought that by the year 2030 there will be a 15-fold increase, and its value will be up to $88.4 billion. Insurtech firms are obsessed with insurance technology.
WealthTech: As easy ways to get rich catch on, more people are choosing wealth management platforms. In terms of Indian Market Wealth Technologies, one could witness growth reaching $237 billion by 2030.
Investment Opportunities:
Government Support: Some actions, like demonetization and GST, that further led to the growth of fintech have created conducive environments. Besides the major cities such as Rio, Bucharest, and Tokyo, lower-level cities like Lodougna and Lien Thai are also adopting this trend.
Conclusion: Seize the Day!
India’s fintech ecosystem is a playground of innovation, ripe for investment. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or a curious newcomer, consider allocating a slice of your portfolio to this dynamic sector. Invest in India, where opportunity meets innovation. Thoughts on GMMTV 2023
Unrelated, I'm going to change my icon on both this and my sideblog soon.
I wish Drake Laedeke and Jimmy Potiwihok had a series together. I'm still not over the lack of Waikorn from Bad Buddy. I haven't finished Vice Versa yet, but so far, I'm not really seeing much chemistry between Sea Anukoolprasert and Jimmy, though, Sea seems to be a good actor.
One thing I really focused on in the trailer for Last Twilight is Jimmy's character wearing a sign that said 'Guide Runner'. That's awesome. I'm curious if there are such a thing in real life.
And I'm still puzzled why Thai and Japanese series sometimes have things written in English. Sure, I'm always glad when I can read something for myself, but I don't think these signs where added just so English-speaking watchers could read them.
I'm so glad Offgun has another BL series, and it's nice to see both characters are all grown-up in this one, though, I don't object to the prevalence of university Thai BLs. I wish the midnight series would come out already.
It'll be interesting to see Perth Sukumpantanasan in a darker role. I never really saw Ae as a particularly rough character, though, he wasn't above throwing hands when necessary. But he had a line himself about how he wouldn't start anything but he'd damn well finish it.
Aside from the Bad Buddy special, I'm not sure whether I'll be watching Ohm Chittsawangdee's shows or not. From what I've read, Ohm wants darker roles, and I'm glad he's getting them. He is definitely talented enough to pull them off.
However, I think he's one of those performers that I only want to see in a certain type of role.
Matthew Goode is a great actor, but the thing is, whenever his character is supposed to be likeable, I'm all in. Whenever he's playing a jerk, he does a great job, but I just find myself not wanting to watch this character.
With no disrespect to Chris Hemsworth, I'm not sure if he's a good actor or not. Having not seen the first or fourth yet, my favourite Thor movie so far is Ragnarok, in what might be irony due to the fact that's the one Marvel movie I cannot pronounce, and I liked him for the few minutes he was in the first Star Trek reboot movie.
What I am sure of, though, is: Good actor or not, I just don't enjoy watching him when he's playing jerks, grim characters, and/or outright villains.
I am interested in seeing Ohm playing more restrained/quieter characters. As much as I enjoy him in bouncy/cheerful/outgoing roles, I was impressed with some of his subtle acting on Bad Buddy.
It's just, I don't think him playing a truly tortured character or an outright villainous one would vibe with me.
I'm glad First Puitrakul and Khao Ratanakitpaisan will be back together again. I loved them as Akk and Ayan. I do hope that, someday, Fluke Gawin will be paired with First again, however.
I know nothing about Book Plookphol and Force Srisang. I tried watching an episode of Enchanté, and it simply couldn't get me invested. Then, I read some spoilers, and I just don't think I'm ever going to be interested in that show. I hope everyone interested in those two actors will enjoy their new show.
It'd be great if the trailer for the Cherry Magic remake would drop already.
I have extremely mixed feelings about it. I love the original, and I'm usually not opposed to remakes. When it comes to the leads, until I see the trailer, I can't truly form an opinion; Tay Vihokratana and New Techa-apaikhun were fine in I'm Tee, Me Too, and aside from watching a little bit of Dark Blue Kiss, I haven't seen them in anything else.
I'm hoping I will like the Milk Vosbein and Love Limpatiyakorn series. I'm sort of a Inkpa shipper, but compared to Patpran, that couple wasn't as fully developed. I do think it's interesting how, based on the trailer, Milk is playing the less confident of the two while Love is playing the vibrant, outgoing one. In both Bad Buddy and Vice Versa, Milk's character has been the cheerful, social butterfly whilst Love's has been more introverted and almost mousy.
And these are my thoughts so far.

Thirteen Lives: Thai cave rescue actor Tom Bateman relives diving fears
By Helen Bushby
Entertainment and arts reporter
Published 23 July
"The cast definitely all felt fear at various times," says director Ron Howard, who's revealing how he shot the rescue of a Thai boys' football team from a flooded cave, for his latest film.
Thirteen Lives tells the story of the perilous real-life rescue of the boys and their coach, trapped deep inside the Tham Luang cave network after monsoon rains came early in 2018.
"A couple of the actors admitted later they had some trying moments - but nobody had to leave the tank and breathe into a brown paper bag," the double Oscar-winner tells the BBC.
The film stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman and Paul Gleeson as the divers, who guided the footballers along underwater spaces so narrow they could barely squeeze through.
The Thai caves are made of limestone, which accumulates water until it's saturated and then floods - in this case with calamitous results.
The actors had to replicate the conditions endured by the real-life divers.
Ron Howard insisted on authentic casting, and said the film had to respect and reflect Thai culture
Bateman plays Chris Jewell, a British computer software consultant and expert cave diver, who was part of the rescue mission. The two kept in touch on set by text, so the actor could ask him about the role.
"Every single day was a challenge for me," Bateman says, adding he had scuba dived before, but had never done cave diving.
"I didn't quite realise how it made you feel... I suffer greatly from claustrophobia and I did meditate a lot," he says, on how he coped.
The actor is able to smile about it now, but he describes getting stuck underwater for about seven minutes while guiding a female diver, who played one of the boys, through a narrow passage.
The boys were heavily sedated for the rescue. Had they been awake, the likelihood is they would have panicked and injured themselves, and the diver.
"I had this amazing stunt double, she just had to lie there and have an actor take her through," Bateman says. "You think, 'If it's bad for me, imagine being her - she's completely helpless'.
Then he got wedged between some rocks.
"I can remember feeling really hot and thinking, 'I'm underwater, but I'm sweating'," he says, as he watched his pulse racing on a wrist monitor. "I could just see my heart rate going up and up and up.
"But the beautiful gift of it was overcoming that... it's all in your head. It was a really safe environment, so getting over that hurdle of 'I can do this' is a small victory each time you do it."
Howard explains that some of the spaces were so small that despite "a great caretaking... you couldn't get the safety divers in with them all the time".
Bateman ultimately had to work himself free.
Relatives of the boys were seen praying near the Tham Luang cave in 2018
When news of the trapped boys broke, it flew around the world, and more than 10,000 volunteers gathered to help.
The Thai Government assembled a team of the world's most experienced cave divers, two of whom found the football team alive but very hungry - nine days after they disappeared.
Two Thai Navy Seals died - one while delivering air tanks, and another a year later, from an infection contracted during the rescue.
Early social media reactions to Thirteen Lives have been broadly positive. The Telegraph's film critic Robbie Collin called the film "compulsively watchable" while singer Allman Brown added: "Everything on screen serves the incredible true story."
However, others say it's "not quite as suspenseful or exciting" as some other rescue movies such as Apollo 13 or Everest, and critics' reviews will not be published until later this week.
Rick Stanton, who retired from the fire service in 2014, was made an MBE for his cave diving rescue services
While Howard hasn't tried cave diving himself, Mortensen really took to it. Bateman says his fellow actor "found it very calming," which is similar to how many cave divers say it makes them feel.
Mortensen plays Rick Stanton, a British diver who specialises in cave rescues. Stanton is what you might call a lateral thinker, having created a device called a side mount rebreather, which enabled him to dive to greater depths.
He was one of the advisors on the film, ensuring it was as accurate as possible, along with fellow British rescue diver Jason Mallinson.
When the boys became trapped, Stanton flew from the UK to help, along with British cave diver John Volanthen, played by Farrell.
They were the ones who found the boys alive, and their footage of that moment was shown around the world.
Having navigated other global cave rescues, how did this one compare?
"This is way off the scale," Stanton tells the BBC. "In 2004, I rescued six British soldiers trapped in a cave in Mexico. That was a huge international incident - we had to dive them out.
"It was just a warm-up act for Thailand. It wasn't wasn't anywhere near the same scale, because Thailand involved boys. The magnitude of difficulty was not on the same same playing field."
Having become a bit disillusioned with cave diving after he retired as a firefighter in 2014, Stanton - by sheer chance - had returned to his sport a month before the rescue.
"I don't even believe in this stuff," he adds. "But you would think that my whole life had been preparing for that very event."
Stanton describes Mortensen as "absolutely a water person", who went swimming before filming, and had a basic diving qualification. Mortensen used Stanton's book, Aquanaut: A Life Beneath The Surface, as research.
Most of the movie was made on a specially built set in Australia, which recreated key parts of the torturous route, 2,950m inside the cave system.
Production designer Molly Hughes had slits built into the rock for the cameras, which were later disguised using computer-generated imagery (CGI).
"CGI could not really do much heavy lifting for us," Howard recalls. He says the actors insisted on doing all their own diving rather than using stunt doubles, which made filming easier.
"But it still ultimately became human beings trapped in a tiny space, trying to navigate in and around stalactites. The whole thing was much slower to shoot than I expected, and much more difficult to execute."
The boys were treated in hospital after their ordeal
Howard chose this story because, despite it being widely covered, he felt there was so much more to know.
"When I read Bill Nicholson's screenplay, it's one of those situations where I thought I knew more or less what had happened. And yet it told me I didn't know the half of it," he explains.
Howard is full of praise for the Thai Government's "lack of political interference and willingness to put pride aside, and open the situation up to volunteers".
"But make no mistake they were leading the entire time," he says.
The director was also very clear on was the portrayal of the Thai people and their culture in the film.
"I didn't want to take any chances," he says. "So there was no version of me accepting that this talented actor from Korea looks right enough that they could play the role. I just nixed that. I was rigid about casting."
Water was pumped out of the caves and diverted away from them
The film shows volunteers and experts diverting gallons of rainwater away from the caves onto nearby crops, which local farmers agreed to sacrifice.
Howard has made plenty of documentaries, and describes those made on the Thai caves rescue as "riveting" but adds: "The one thing scripted versions of stories can do is engage audience members' nervous systems. The actors, dialogue, camera work and music... open this pathway of empathy."
He wants the film to celebrate both the huge rescue effort and the international co-operation, as well as "giving audiences something thrilling, emotional and visceral for them to experience".
Thirteen Lives is released in cinemas on Friday 29 July and launches on Prime Video on Friday 5 August.

hello 🌻 so I'm kinda new to thai bl, since my tl started going crazy. I saw the discussion under your recent video, I gathered you know things, so I was wondering who is the director you've mentioned and why people are going insane on twitter. or is it not common getting projects so close to each other?
Lol yeah I see lately more and more western fans are joining the madness, can't really tell if its good or nah, cause its totally not the safe place for "unproblematic purists", but we'll see how it goes xD
Oi, I’ll try to do this somewhat shortly, don’t hit me if I’m bad at expalining haha. Tee is most known for directing "Tharntype" and "Lovely writer", Aof directed "1000 stars", "Dark Blue Kiss"… "Bad Buddy". In the world of thai BL, they fall into a category of a very high quality ones, that fans love.
Long story short like we know that directors as it is everywhere play one of the most important parts, but when it comes to thai lakorns it basically can determine not only the quality of the shooting and the whole tone of the creation, but also the quality of the portrayal of the relationships/closeness etc. They in most cases decide everything up to the intimacy scenes and it's even up to them to say "do korean dramas fish kiss bc thats how I see it" (here's the fun fact about thai bl actors/directors for you, sometimes actors themselves don't wanna kiss normally, sometimes directors don't allow actors who wanna kiss normally to kiss normally). It's also their vision that decides how to twist the character and turn him into a complete opposite from the original material kind etc. They just literally hold everything in the hands most of the times, including scripts.
So fans already kinda split directors into categories who either make the original material worse than it is and fail to guide the actors into the right direction and those who can make a candy out of basics by bringing out the best in both the original material and actors.
That being said the two cookies right now due to the fact that they stole everyone's hearts and fired up everyone even just with looks + the fact that they want to keep doing bl together and having too much fun with it are now there basically the perfect snatch.
So the fact that P'Tee is doing a workshop with them already and both of the best directors want them and some famous screenwriters there too, means that they see a huge potential in them. And for fans it means that they can have quality content with their faves.
To describe their vibe/type of directing, I mean, it's different depending on the story for sure, but it's very I'd say.. natural. There won't be any "we're in a relationships but don't touch me" stuff or other "old classic intimacy cringe" you'd see in many lakorns. And when it comes to Tee, he has this great balance between tasteful steamy with all the emotions you need, which is also lacking these days.
So I yelled a bit too, I really was rooting for someone to see the beauty, but aparently everyone did, so it's all good. Good luck to them.
As for the last part. It's definitely not common, but getting projects so close to each other happened before. For example, Earthmix have two bl dramas coming out this year and short movies along with it too (that without counting all of their entertainment shows). What's not common is for P'Tee to grab on GMM actors so fast, but I don't blame anyone in this situation haha.
Hope, I explained it somewhat okay, sorry if its clumsy, it’s a bit hard to explain, depends on how new you are and what you’ve watched so far <3

Tumblr media
You and Seb met at a coffee shop in New York. It was totally cliche and seemed straight out of a storybook. You had somehow managed to spill coffee on that specimen of a man, and he was kind enough to let you pay for his dry cleaning. Your relationship didn’t grow until you ran into him again while you were at a bar with your friends. If he had any say in telling the story of how you met, he spotted you from across the smoky bar and he knew then and there that he had to get to know you. Truthfully, you liked his version, but the real one was just indescribable. It seemed, to you at least, that you were destined to be with this man. Seeing him twice in one week? Come on, that’s possible if you were in the small town you grew up in, but not New York.
You obviously had recognized him as an actor, but really you didn’t care. That’s what drew Sebastian to you in the first place. You treated him as if he was any other guy on the street, he was able to be a normal person around you. Now, two years later, you lounge on the couch of your apartment in LA that you shared with the man you love. He’s still auditioning for any role that catches his eye and you’re supporting him no matter what.
His fans for the most part adored you and your relationship with Sebastian. The fans who didn’t like you were your only issue with this whole affair, but they had nothing to do with Sebastian other than flood his socials with nasty messages about you. You weren’t perfect, that you knew all too well, and you tried to let the comments roll off your shoulders. Most of the time you were successful in your efforts, but other times they clung to your skin like an unwanted disease.
Sebastian was currently promoting his new project Endings, Beginnings. You were so unbelievably proud of Seb, he was doing something that made him happy. In this particular film, he was acting alongside Shailene Woodley, who was just amazing. Seb always came home gushing about the new inside jokes that they had come up with. One of your favorite things that Seb did with you was run lines. You liked having the inside scoop on his new works, but this one was harder for you. It had quite a few sex scenes between Seb’s character Frank and Shailene’s Daphne.
Not that it bothered you. Nope. Didn’t bother you. At all.
...mmm, okay maybe it bugged you a little. It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Sebastian, it was… well you couldn’t really describe what it was. Whatever the case may be, it was putting you deeper and deeper into a funk, one that you were having a hard time coming out of. And Seb’s fans who weren’t in your corner, weren’t really helping you any.
A few nights ago, Seb surprised you with a casual night out in LA. He texted you before he got home and told you that he was going to be taking you out. Did he give you a dress code for the evening? No, he did not (wonderful, thanks so much Seb). You decided to dress in a half business casual, half rail me when we get home outfit. You ended up wearing an adorable bustier top that was embroidered with pretty blue and pink flowers, a pair of destroyed jeans covered your legs. You finished it off with a pair of nude heels, when you looked in the mirror, you thought you looked hot as fuck. It was around seven when Seb picked you up, mouth hanging open, in awe of your outfit.
“Oh my god. You look so beautiful, Y/N.” He opened the passenger door of his car after he hugged you, giving you a small peck on the lips. Sebastian drove you to a restaurant a block off of Thai Town called Home Restaurant.
“Babe, this place is so cute!” You squeezed Sebastian’s upper arm, jumping up and down beside him. “How’d you find this place?” Sebastian shook his head, smiling at you.
“I asked Shai, actually.” He rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, and your heart sank a little. Why did it do that? “She said that the paps hardly ever come around here.” He leaned down pressing a kiss to your temple. “I thought that draga mea deserved a quiet night out on the town.” His voice rasped as he spoke in his native tongue, making a shiver race down your spine.
“Well, tell her I said thank you.” You offered him a small smile. He wrapped his arm around your waist, drawing circles on the exposed skin above your jeans. He spoke with the hostess as your mind drifted away. You were pulled out of your thoughts when he guided you to your table. Sebastian sat across from you, staring deeply into your eyes. You brought your hand up to rest your chin on it, staring back at him. “How’s everything been going?” You were genuinely interested in the answer and it made your heart warm watching his face light up.
“It’s been going really well. Everyone we worked with was real nice, it made all the scenes more comfortable.” Seb’s eyebrows rose at the mention of the scenes and you knew which ones he was referring to.
“Oh, right.” You tried not to let your emotions show.
“Yeah, we’re about to start teasing some of them to promote the show.” Seb sighed at the thought of having to use social media, you shook your head at him.
“I’ll help you with it, you dork.” You laughed to hide your discomfort. “Which scene did they approve for the posts?” Sebastian began to speak when he was interrupted by your waitress. After the two of you ordered your food, the waitress returned with your drinks. Sebastian took a large gulp of his before answering your previous question.
“They want me to post the trailer and then the scene between Frank and Daphne at the bar.” You tried to think back to the script, remembering the context. Frank and Daphne were meeting after Daphne had gone out on a date with Jack. Daphne was claiming that she didn’t want to be a wedge in their friendship, then proceeded to make out with Frank. If you were recalling correctly, Frank and Daphne’s first sex scene followed soon after.
“Okay, we can do that. Do you have any behind the scene pictures you wanna post too?” Seb got out his phone, scrolling through his camera roll to see. He had several different photos of him with Jamie and then him with Shailene. He showed you his phone on a picture of Shailene leaned against him on a couch, her arm over his waist. A red filter colored the photo, you had to hand it to him, it was a good one to use. “We can post it whenever we get home, love.” Sebastian locked his phone and shoved it in his pocket, to focus solely on you.
“How has your day been, draga mea?” You bit your lip as you thought about what you’ve been doing. You’ve been working towards your Master’s, so your days have been filled with preparing for your dissertation. On top of that, you’ve become a bit of an influencer on different social media platforms. Really, you believe your popularity came from your relationship with Sebastian. You’ve been giving his fans the content that they’ve always wanted. Not only that, but you’re active with them.
“My day was good today. I had to edit a few papers from my other classmates but other than that I didn’t do much. I did make a few TikTok videos, but really today was a bit of a lounge day for me.” Seb smiled at you, proud of how hard you’ve been working.
“I should be getting a few days off soon, so we can relax together in the apartment, if you aren’t too busy with your classes.” He stretched his arm across the table, palm up waiting for your hand. Seb pulled your hand up to his mouth, placing a sloppy kiss onto the back of it. His eyes settled on you lovingly. To Sebastian, you were the greatest thing that had ever happened to him.
The two of you managed to finish your meal in peace. No fans came up to Sebastian asking for photos, no paparazzi swarms when you left, just a quiet meal for a normal couple in love. After you got home and you were snuggled in your pajamas alongside Sebastian in your comfortable bed, he handed you his phone to read over his post for his Instagram. The paragraph was sappy, about his time working with Drake, the director, and working with the rest of the cast. Seb always was a softy, never was able to hide it, especially in promo posts.
“It looks good to me. Are you going to post it now? Or wait until tomorrow morning?” Seb debated, he probably should wait and do it tomorrow, but he was most likely going to forget to do it. He clicked post, putting his phone on charge and snuggling into you.
“Thank you for always being there for me, Y/N.” He kissed your jawline, nuzzling his face into your neck. “It really means a lot to me, baby. I love you so much.” He wrapped both hands around your waist, pulling you to his front. You smiled wide, momentarily forgetting all of your troubles.
“I love you too, Seb.” You turned your head slightly, pressing a kiss against the corner of his mouth. “Now let’s get some sleep, love.” Little did you know that a single post could ruin all of the progress that you thought you had made.
*********************
You woke the next morning, alone in bed. You could hear pots clanging in the kitchen of your home, bringing a smile to your face. Before you left the safety of your bed, you checked your socials out of habit. You opened Instagram first, seeing an absurd amount of notifications this early in the morning. Your smile dropped as soon as you opened the first post. Comments on Sebastian’s post about Endings, Beginnings and his chemistry with Shailene weren’t entirely out of the ordinary. They were to be expected, they were playing parts in a love triangle. People were ‘shipping’ Shailene with Seb and Jamie, so that wasn’t too crazy.
What hurt you were the comments saying, “living for shailene and sebastian! she’s a much better match for him than y/n.”
“never thought that y/n girl was going to last, glad he’s going w shailene”
“shailene and seb supremacy”
“yes! i’ve always supported seb in everything he’s done, but i rlly questioned him when he got w that y/n girl. what was he thinking?!”
Tears gathered in your eyes as you continued scrolling. You never thought you and Sebastian never fit. You knew that people had issues with your relationship, but you never let it get in your head this bad. You checked your explore page, pictures of you and Sebastian from last night were riddling the page.
Your heart dropped.
There were pictures of the two of you from last night with parts of your body circled. The exposed skin above your waistband, the excess skin on your neck and arms. You don’t know where they got these pictures, but your stomach was steadily sinking with each picture you saw. The door of your room opened, revealing a smiley Sebastian with a plate full of eggs in one hand and a cup of orange juice in the other.
“Good morning, baby.” You quickly shoved your phone away from you, wiping your tears away from your eyes to meet his. His brows furrowed immediately. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” You snuffled quietly, before answering.
“Uh, nothing. I’m just so proud of you.” You smiled at him, not wanting to bring down his already happy mood with your problems. Was that entirely healthy? Probably not, but you were doing it anyway, consequences be damned.
“Oh, well you don’t have to cry for me, Y/N. Even if you’re proud.” He walked up to your side of the bed, placing the cup and plate on your nightstand. He brought his hand up to your cheeks, wiping away your tear streaks. “You know that I only like to see tears whenever it’s me causing you so much pleasure you beg me to stop.” He winked at you, smirking at your rising blush. To say that didn’t lift your spirits for about half a second would be a lie. Sebastian brought the plate to your lap, waiting for you to start eating. At this particular moment, after seeing all those horrible pictures of your body, your appetite had gone out the window, but he was so smiley.
“After you eat, I want ya to shower.” Sebastian’s hand came up to your jaw, cupping it as you used it to chew the eggs. “We’ve got a long day of lounging and enjoying each other's company ahead of us.” Sebastian stood from the bed, throwing a wink at you as he left the room dramatically. You stopped eating soon after he left, the food tasting like ash on your tongue. At some point, you got into the bathroom, staring at the reflection in the mirror.
Your phone was in your hand again. The pictures flooding your Twitter feed. Shaky breaths left your mouth as you watched your reflection tilt its head. Tears began gathering in your eyes as it felt like you weren’t in your own skin anymore. You had worked so hard to be comfortable in your own body.
It’s amazing how just one picture can ruin everything.
You leaned forward on the countertop, hands holding up your weight. You shifted towards the mirror, examining every miniscule detail that your eyes could see. Your lids came down quickly, tears dragging down your cheeks. You squeezed your eyes closed, shaking your head back and forth.
“You are not going to let this get to you.” You took a few deep breaths as you turned on the shower. Not wanting to be around the mirror anymore, you kept your bath short, talking to yourself the whole time. By the time you left the bathroom, it was steamed completely, you couldn’t see your reflection even if you wanted to.
“He loves you.” You had a mantra and you continued to repeat it as you walked into your shared closet. “He loves all of you.” You pulled one of his old t-shirts off a hanger. “Sebastian loves you.” A pair of your underwear and his loose boxers covered your lower half. “Sebastian loves all of you.” You shoved your feet into a pair of fuzzy pink socks, leaving the closet still muttering to yourself. You tucked your phone into your waistband after checking your socials again. You know you shouldn’t have, but there was some part of you that just wouldn’t let you not.
The same shit covered your For You page on TikTok. Videos from the trailer of Seb and Shailene and then videos of you and Seb, comparing the two relationships. “They do fit well together.” You thought to yourself. A part of you wondering why Seb was with you in the first place.
“Did you say something, love?” Sebastian looked at you from the couch. A blanket was strewn over his lower half, his upper body inviting, waiting for you to join him. His smile dropped when he took in your glassy eyes instead of your usual happy expression.
“Oh baby, what’s wrong?” He started towards you, eyes running over your body for any outward injuries. An understanding look crossed his face when he saw your phone clutched in your hand. “Y/N, talk to me, baby.” Sebastian’s hands rested on your shoulders, lightly caressing your biceps. You recoiled from his touch, feeling uncomfortable in your own body.
“Just some stuff that some fans posted.” Seb’s thumb traced just under your eye, wiping away the tears. He held his right hand out for your phone, to understand what you were talking about. His brows furrowed deeply as he scrolled, not fully processing how destructive his fans could be. Sebastian always believed that they were the best fucking people in the world. He knew that they could be mean, but this was something else.
“They don’t know what they’re talking about, Y/N.” Sebastian’s voice was firm. It was almost strong enough to cut through the fog invading your brain, but not quite. You had officially zoned out. Dead to the world. Lost in your own thoughts. No matter how destructive those thoughts may be.
Sebastian noticed that you were already too deep, having experienced this with you many times before. He was aware that you were self-conscious, insecure, however you want to describe it. Your anxiety always got worse when you were stressed. Prepping for your dissertation was definitely a stressful time. Add on top of that, Sebastian was constantly pulling you from your work for various reasons. Had he contributed to this? Scratch that thought, he didn’t have time for that. He needed to bring you back down to Earth, back to him.
“Y/N.” His hands hovered over your hips. “I’m going to touch you for a second.” He directed you to the couch, settling on the coffee table in front of you. His fingers lightly traced circles onto your knees, as he assessed how he should approach this.
“Y/N. Baby?” Sebastian hesitated before bringing his fingers up to your chin, not wanting you to react badly. “I’m right here, Y/N, it’s Sebastian.” His left hand hadn’t left your knee, continuing to trace small patterns into your skin, giving you something to ground yourself with. He watched you blink and swallow harshly, inhaling sharply before opening your mouth.
“Why are you with me?” Your chin trembled with unvoiced sobs. “You deserve the world, Seb. I’m not even--” Your sentence was cut off by a loud whimper causing tears to start streak down. Sebastian wasn’t sure if this was a situation where you wanted him to be involved, so he waited for a sign.
“I’m not even worth a glance from you.” Your hand came up to wipe at your runny nose. “They’re so right. You need to be with someone like Shailene.” A bitter sob racked your body, making your body fold in half. Sebastian caught you before you hurt yourself.
“Y/N. I love you.” He always heard you say that to yourself when you thought he wasn’t listening. He knew that you suffered from anxiety, so he was always watching. Always paying attention to your little cues. The little things that he could use to help you as much as he could. “I love all of you.” He held one of your hands, running his thumb over the back of it.
“I don’t care what they say, baby.” He lifted your face to his, steel blue eyes locking with your cloudy pair. “I picked you.” He pecked your right cheek. “I want you.” A peck to your left. “I want only you.” One to your forehead. “It’s always been you, Y/N.” Another on your chin. “I love all of you, Y/N.” Sebastian landed a final short kiss to your lips, lingering for only a second.
“I want you to understand something, Y/N.” His gaze never left you. “I’m not going anywhere.” His brows raised as he hardened his voice. “I’m especially not going anywhere at the behest of my fans. I love them to death, but they don’t get to decide who I love.” Sebastian shifted to sit next to you on the couch. “Is it okay if I put my arms around you?” All he got was a brief nod in return, which was expected.
“I’m yours, Y/N. As much as you’re mine.” His arms descended around you, wrapping you in a loving embrace. You turned to face him fully, bringing your own arms around his waist, shoving your head into his neck.
“I’m sorry you have to deal with all my shit, Seb.” Sebastian almost missed your comment because you spoke into his shoulder and through loud snuffles. He backed away to look you in the face.
“I signed up for this, Y/N. I’m here for whatever we go through.” He tucked a stray hair behind your ear. “We go through ‘your shit’ together, Y/N. This is a partnership, a two-way street.” He looked at the weak smile on your face, heart warming slightly at the sight. His face turned serious, casting a glance at your phone on the coffee table.
“How long have you been sitting on this?” He knew how quickly your mind could twist things, so he wasn’t sure what to expect. You bit your lip, not meeting his eyes anymore.
“Just since this morning.” He held you away from his body, watching your expression.
“Is this why you were crying earlier?” You gave him a meek nod in response. “Baby, I thought we talked about this. We have to talk to each other when we think we’re going to go into a funk.” The two of you had talked about it before, but you didn’t think this was going to be a funk.
“I should’ve been able to just shake this off because I know you love me and you won’t leave me because of something that some people on the Internet say.” The words left your mouth before you could process everything, your mind quick to defend itself.
“It’s okay, Y/N. You don’t always have to be able to shake something off. We just have to keep each other in the loop.” Sebastian looked over your tear-stained face, pressing a kiss to your forehead again. “Let’s ditch the phones today. Just spend the day in each other’s arms, how’s that sound?” You smiled softly, nodding at the man in front of you. He got up quickly hiding both of your phones in the kitchen somewhere.
This definitely wasn’t a solution to dealing with your anxiety, Sebastian knew that. It also wasn’t dealing with the toxic people on the Internet, but you didn’t need that right now. You needed to be immersed in an environment that accepted what you were going through without judgement, Sebastian could provide that. Seb hummed happily when you snuggled into his side under the covers on your couch while he searched for a movie. He kissed the top of your head and he felt you smile against his stomach.
“I’m proud of you, draga mea.” You turned to face him, a confused expression lacing your features.
“For what, Seb?” He stroked your face with a single finger, mapping out your features.
“I’m proud of how you handle yourself. I’m amazed at how strong you are, even when you think you’re not.” He leaned closer to you, whispering his next words. “You’re my hero.” One corner of your mouth twitched upwards, not wanting to accept it. You rolled your eyes playfully, settling back onto his stomach before speaking.
“I love you, Sebastian.”
“And I love you, Y/N.”
