Watching Markiplier play the SCP remake and I realize how gorgeous those monsters are. It's like a monster dating game. There's that creepy black statue with no hands and no face, and it is absolutely spicy.

Do You Get Asks: From time to time, they’ve been mostly requests which I am GARBAGE at filling (especially because my fangirl heart is fickle) but I’d love more asks! I love talking to people.

Hours of Sleep: 6-7 on work nights, as many as humanly possible on weekends. I’d sleep straight through the weekend if I physically could.

Dream Job: I want to get paid to write the things inside my head. I have so many stories to tell and work gets in the way of telling them.

Random Fact: I will talk to anyone about sex/pron/sex toys. Literally. It’s my favorite thing to talk about and not in a weird way. I just find it fascinating and i want everyone to be happy, healthy and MOTHERFORKING SAFE.

So... I've been following teratopilia blogs like yours for awhile and I've thought about writing my own stories, but I'm sort of scared to start up my own blog. I wanted it more centered around Dungeons and Dragons kind of characters... Do you have any sort of advice?

Go for it. Just do it. If you’ve wanted to do it, go for it :D *wibbles supportively*

I’ve answered a couple of similar asks before, namely here, here, and here, but a condensed version of them would be:

Write a number of stories before you get going so that you’ve got a small body of works (three minimum I’d say) for people to get a feel for your writing and what you are like as an author.

Have a Masterlist from the first story, and update it as you go. Trust me, you do not want to retro-fit a masterlist and try and find all your stories.

Make your writing as good as you can get it.

Edit like a mean, cruel bitch. Seriously. Read it aloud too to see how it flows. Top tip: change the font and size to trick your brain into thinking it’s not seen the words before.

Have patience - a following won’t happen overnight.

Be open to requests in the beginning so the people can get involved with what you do.

Be nice and open to suggestions, but don’t let people walk all over you. This has to be fun for you, and people will always want something for nothing.

Write what you enjoy writing. If you’re not into it, it will show, and it will be boring.

Final thought - have a snappy or short(ish) / easy to remember URL so that people are more likely to remember you if they go away and come back again, and try not to make it too similar to other ones, as confusion can arise then…

Have courage and get writing!
