That Sebek isekai thing,,,except its those fucking "oh nooo i got transmigrated into the villainess" shit...
Sebek being isekai'd into the body of the main villain, who would soon be executed under Prince Malleus's orders because of his attempts on the main character's life: Silver Vanrouge, the long lost son of the General.
It doesnt help that the General and Baul, Sebek's grandfather, HATE each other, giving him another motive besides jealousy. Sebek is executed along with his grandfather by the General's very own blade
But when Sebek starts planning how to survive (read: run away and hope for the best), he starts realizing how WRONG the story is. One: Baul and Lilia are just exes going through the most dramatic telenovela plotlines Sebek has ever seen. Two: His character wasn't the one who made all those attempts on Silver's life because NOW ALL THE ATTEMPTS ARE HAPPENING TO HIM. Three: Prince Malleus isn't as aloof and cold as the book describes him to be. Four: Prince Silver ISN'T as naive and kind as the book describes him to be.
Blah blah sebek sucking up to Silver and Malleus not knowing that he's endeared himself to them already and is part of their found family

Something I think we should talk more about is how humanized Ransik is, AND HOW NICELY THAT'S DONE!!! (At least so far to the ep 14, but I'm confident it'll keep)
It's not only about his sad backstory being told to us early in the season and how this is his motivation unlike the previous villains that were all Space Pirates, Galaxy Coquerors & Emperors, Demons and such, all moved by greed and/or pure desire of destruction and chaos.
It's also about what he (and Nadira, mostly Nadira) does in his lair, besides speak loudly about hating humanity and desiring the complete destruction of the Power Rangers, he and Nadira do... routine stuff. Stuff that we deem as mundane but also can't deny is funny and enjoyable.
In many starts of episodes they are just there, receiving a relaxing massage, watching some goofy TV, taking a hair care routine, taking a shot of the medicine he needs to not die... That's totally different from the previous villains, who were constantly observing the city to come up with an effective way to attack, or even stalking the Rangers themselves to this goal like in Rita & Zed's case...
Even when we had two pirates villains, Ransik's group is the only one who really focused in money several times, he got a mutant to fulfill the sole purpose to steal money... That's an awful thing we see humans doing, some of the moments highlighting their pettiness are petty actions we can totally witness with our own eyes in people around us... It's in the details guys!!
Even when we compare with Trakeena, who was also a typical spoiled preppy girl, in Nadira this characterization is there to humanize her, it comes to add a layer to her character, on contrary to Trakeena, we don't see Nadira launching tantrums because she wants to command an army and her daddy won't allow, or because her daddy doesn't trust her to fight*, or because she is pathetic fighter unable to beat a single minion when everything should be easy for her, we see her complaining of how the food is disgusting and greasy, of how her telenovela was interrupted or of how her hair care was interrupted, petty actions, but petty human actions that you can see even in your house. (*at least in the start, I admit I am ignoring the chance of Ransik's protection over her grow throughout the season as the stakes rises and it lead her to feel he's not trusting as she deserves... Although yet, she indeed showed competence from the start, so wouldn't be just prepotence on her part as she has feats to support her side)
Trakeena lost this trait almost completely when the writers decided she should assume as main villain and thus should be competent, meanwhile Nadira was always portrayed as competent, being able to stand on her own in battle against the Rangers, give ideas and even elaborate plans even though she was such a preppy, they show us her defects but also don't deny her qualities, and both reflect in her actions that are closer to what we can see in people around us than whatever Trakeena may have done.
Oh, sorry I got carried away...
So in short: RANSIK AND NADIRA ARE AMAZING VILLAINS, THE EFFORT DONE FOR THEIR CHARACTERS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW HUMANIZE CHARACTERS, TIME FORCE IS EASILY ONE OF THE MOST MATURE SEASONS OF POWER RANGERS AND THE WRITERS KNEW TO HANDLE THE SUBJECTS AND SUBTEXTS THEY MEANT TO TALK OF

All TV series I've ever seen III
1940 - 1970
1980 -2000
2010 - now (this post)
2010 - Mike & Molly
Sitcom with some funny jokes... got lost at season 3 maybe... I don't know.
I know some people can't stand Melissa McCarthy but what I can't stand is the typical jokes of "well she's fat so she has to be eating in every scene or making a big deal about food" as it happens in Ghostbusters.
2011 -Once upon a time
At first I thought it was a silly premise (and maybe it is) but I do like fairytales twisted over and over again to create something new.
I stopped watching around season 5... because I was watching it through Sony (LatAm) and they started to play it dubbed and the voices were horrible.
I should pick it up someday.
2011 - 2 broke girls
Yet another sitcom that sometimes lands and others don't. Good enough to watch when there's nothing else available.
2011 - Person of Interest
A man creates a system (AI?) that can identify a criminals so hires someone to take care of them. I might've watched two seasons... then I lost track.
2013 - The Blacklist
James Spader has one of the best voices in the planet and when he plays a snarky a-hole he's at his best. The first two season were great... then I lost track and all the sudden they are ending the show after 10 seasons. I have a lot to catch up.
2013 - The Goldbergs
I might've been born in 1992 but thanks to mom and my aunts I grew up with in the '80s so this show was made for me... or so I thought. Some things are cringy, once Adam grows up the whole nerdy thing isn't as funny but it's ok... ish.
2013 - Father Brown
You can never be wrong with Chersterton's creation. Altough as all british TV shows it can be a little too slow for my taste.
2016 - Nafta Súper (Argentina)
The whole thing started with a simple question: what would've happened if Superman fell in a poor neighbourhood in Buenos Aires instead of the Kent's farm? This was the premise for Kriptonita a book that presented the DC heroes in their argentinean versions. But beware since they are outlaws and not always do good (but compared to our police they aren't as bad)... it is kinda hard to root for them. I mean Nafta Súper (is the name of a type of gasoline you get here) got his name because whenever he had to meet with other crime bosses he would carry gasoline with him and set them on fire if they didn't agree with his views 🤷🏻‍♀️
The movie was a good enough hit, so the TV show was meant to happen and expand the universe. Each episode focuses in one of the members of the Justice League (El Federico/Batman, Lady Di/Wonder Woman, El Faisán/Green Lantern, Ráfaga/Flash) while they all look for Nafta Súper/Superman that, after the end of the movie, is hiding.
As I said, it is hard to root for them but I have to give it to the creatives with all the clever ways to twist this heroes and villains so they fit in our culture. And I do like El Federico & Corona (Batman and The Joker) they are the highlight of the show for me.
2016 - Анна, детектив (Anna, detective -Russia)
Do you remember Medium? Have you ever thought how it could've been set in the early 1900s in a backwater town in Russia? Well now you don't have to!
Anna Mironova is a young woman that always had psychic abilities but they would come and go during childhood. Now this abilities are back around the same time the Officer Shtolman is assigned to her town.
Sometimes is very VERY telenovela (I am not entirely on board when it happens), each case lasts 2 episodes and I do think that is a bit of a strech. But I do have to recognize that Dimitri Frid (Shtolman) plays a man that is very smitten and deeply in love very well.
You can see it in Youtube in Star Media English (captioned in this language)
2018 - Killing Eve
We all know that the first 2 seasons were the best (we can add the 3rd in it too when we compare it to the 4th). This cat-and-mouse spy thriller started strong mixing dark humour and just darkness and left us all with a bad taste in the last episode. Still Eve and Villanelle will live forever in our hearts.
2019 - Good Omens
An Angel a Demon beeing close friends got 20K christians so angry that they started a pettition to cancel this show adressed to the wrong company. And people still ask me today why I am Agnostic?
The Antichrist was born, the Four Horsemen summoned so it is time to stop the Apocalypse.
Really funny, layered and worth a lot more than just a watch (mom and I watched it about 4 times in less than a year, so... is that good)
2019 - The Mandalorian
At home we were never huuuuuge Star Wars fans (we would watch for Harrison Ford and some creatures). Still, since the premise to this show was that you didn't needed to be a hardcore-fan we gave it a go and we loved it! It's very close to old shows, like Zorro, where you have the adventure-of-the-day kinda plot (that some people just can't dig, don't know why) and I do like good fights on TV/Cinema
Never underestimate the power of Baby Yoda!
2021 - Wandavision
Even if we never read a comic, we did watched most of Marvel movies and we wanted to know what all of this was about.
It's a lot more effective if you already know the shows they pay homage to.
Beware... it will break your heart.
2021 - Falcon & the Winter Soldier
Following the MCU, came the buddy-mov... erm, TV show, buddy-Tv show starred by Falcon and Bucky.
At a moment you might think that there are too many things on the plate (super soldiers, the new & bad Captain America, a black market dealer, Zemo) so some things do feel a little rushed. But well... at least was fun.
2021 - Loki
Don't kill me but I do not understand people's obsession with Loki.
I mean, the mythological god is a thing... but aside from Tom Hiddleston's fans I don't see the appeal of any nordic god in the MCU (as I said, I don't read comics).
The show is ok...
2021 - Hawkeye
Since I'm little I always liked archery and I was curious about this Avenger that is easily lost in the background of the movies.
It is not the greatest show ever made... but at least is less "the world will be destroyed" and that is a good change. Less is more.
2021 - The Book of Boba Fett
Of course after watching Mando I had to follow the story... and yes, he did took over in the last episodes. But still... it was nice seeing Boba Fett's arch that transformed him from a Bounty Hunter to a Leader (???).
Something could be a little bit more explored, but well... we'll see what the future holds for him.
2022 - Our Flag means Death
When I had a glimpse of the trailers (mostly focused on Steede's most feminine traits vs the tough life of a pirate) I was like "yay... another show making fun of a clearly gay character. Awesome. Are we in 1980 again?" But some gifsets in here spiked my curiosity... does the story really shows a romantic relationship between Blackbeard and Steede or this is the fandom beeing fandom once again?
Well... watch and find out!
2022 - Moonknight
I love the Ancient Egypt so this show was for me. I didn't know that there was a superhero based on those myths (nor that he had DID) and I really liked him.
Fingers crossed for a second season... or a movie (once the strike is over, of course).
2022 - Ms. Marvel
I was expecting something more teenage-based but anyone can see Ms. Marvel.
I don't understand why so many hated it... oh wait... Sor Juana said it better "foolish men that accuse the woman without reason..."
2022 - She-Hulk
And odd experiment, I do think that the last episode was kinda cheating but if she breaks the fourth wall... what can we do? 🤷🏻‍♀️
At least they aknowledged some narrative issues that have been dragging for a while.
2022 - The Sandman
Loving this show is an understatement.
Once again, I didn't read the graphic novel with the exceptions of a few panels here and there that I saw many years ago in Facebook (when Morpheus meets The Fates and the baby scene on The Sound of her Wings).
I love when all mythology and fairytales and other myths can be combined into something new. So this was my jam.
Waiting for season 2 (and getting a better paid job so I can buy the books).
2022 - Obi-Wan
Is there anybody in this world that hates Ewan McGregor? I don't think so.
The show was ok... some twists were predictable from the get-go (still some didn't see them coming and got angry at them 🤷🏻‍♀️). But well... everybody wanted Vader vs Obi-Wan and they sure had it!
2022 - Andor
I don't know if living in Argentina absolutely killed the idea of a heroic guerrilla, revolution and such (because we are the spoils of that and, trust me, thinks don't get better. But this is not about argebtinean politics so... moving on)... or it is because in USA is heavily romanticized but... Andor didn't clicked with me.
It was a task watching it and we only finished it because we started it... don't know if we will watch a second season.
2022 - Wednesday
A lot of people say that Tim Burton is overrated (I disagree, I think that he is tired of beeing ask to be Tim Burton, wacky director or weird films) but Wednesday is heavily overrated to me. Really? This has 12 Emmy nominations and The Sandman has zero? What the Bloody Hell?!
I like the Addams Family, I watched the TV show... the movies... this is not the Addams Family. I know, I know... this is about Wednesday blah, blah, blah. But this isn't Wednesday either... this is moody goth teenager with the biggest ego in the room.
Let's leave aside all the character and worldbuilding inconsistencies... Wednesday is a sharp and blunt person but she is never mean without a good point. This Wednesday is cruel even with people that loves her!
Did people forget that the weirdest thing about the Addams Family was that they are weird and they deeply love each other? That was what made them who they are! Instead of having the husband complaining about the wife, you have Gomez. Instead of having the wife trying to have the perfect house scolding her kids for their behaviour , you have Morticia with her own interests aside from beeing a housewife and assists her kids with their passions... I'll stop ranting now or I will never end.
Not a fan of the powers, the story is ok-ish...
2023 - The Last of Us
Never played videogames either and zombies (I'm sorry, infected) are not a big genre at home unless is Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Still we decided to give it a go because Pedro Pascal is latino and you have to support your people... even if they are chileans... or brazilians (argie joke. You wouldn't understand it).
We loved it!
I was ready for mom to complain with "is it necessary to always have gays?" in episode 3 but she didn't... and I dare to say that its one of her favourite episodes. (And no, readers, mom isn't conservative... but she's against tokenism -just like me-. If you want to have diversity in the world you've created, that's awesome... if you are doing it just to check some items off a list, it's annoying and feels like a desperate move)
2023 - The Muppets Mayhem
We love The Muppets but since Jim Henson's death they are kind of a hit-and-miss.
It does get better as it goes... wouldn't say is ✨️the best✨️ Muppets yet... but it is a lot better than the Haunted Mansion from last year (?)
2023 - FUBAR
Did you liked the movie True Lies with Arnold Schwartzenneger and Jaime Lee Curtis? Well... what if we do the same premise but this time his daughter is also a secret agent?
It is still good though... sometimes humor can be a little cringey, but Arnie knows his audience well enough and delivers.
2023 - Secret Inavsion (current)
It is still going so I cannot tell much just yet. Doesn't feel like a spy-thriller as I imagined but we'll see.

Author's warning: Darkdarkdark. This idea and the whole AU stayed with me a while, so here it is. I would gladly take requests for anything lighter with them! Also, not a native English speaker, so beware. Probably OOC?
Summary: Years ago, Shego dissapeared. It was easy to presume a villain dead, but she used her connections to build a crime empire. Only thing that was missing was slowly loosing her spark and loved ones over this time. So Shego took Kim all for herself.
Content: Mafia!AU. Arguing, emotional abuse in a weird relationship, overall angst. For sure 18+.
Sun looked into massive windows of the dining room, bidding the lone woman last goodbye for the day. It wasn't a first dinner she had by herself this month. It was 31st. Frankly, she hated everything about it. Maid's soft invite to the table, long corridor reinforced enough to withstand a small explosion, bulletproof glass, separating the sea from inhabitants of modest 6-bedroom house on its shore. A property known to a handful of people, barely listed anywhere and the location was never uttered out loud by an alive person.
She knew every name in this house, but stopped acknoledging half of the stuff a long time ago. The tamest bodyguards called her was Princess Peach whose reptile willingly left her. A feisty whore wasn't the worst of it, really. Waste of potential stung more. So, with no confidants the woman relished in slowly stewing rage that awaited for the right moment to come out. Timid maid named Moira never saw it, of course. Kim tipped hansomely to be left alone. She's used to it.
Something screeched softly in the walls. The intercom. Former Kim Possible slowly raised her head to face the security camera.
''Missed me, Cupcake?'' She heard from nowhere noticable.
A butter knife through the lense disabled the camera easily.
Kim rose from her seat and walked out of the dining room, never unclasping her fists. Why would she? Every evening she put on a stupid satin dress, like a true whore she it. To appeal and hope, that her master will join her this time. Patience being eviscerated with every passing hour of solitude. Reaching the bedrom in record time, Kim slammed the door. It would have splintered, If it wasn't hiding six inches of steel.
Small backpack hid under the bed from the stard. Non-descript clothes, some money, two glocks and new documents. All of this she had before she was brought here. It was never taken away. Maybe, another test of her loyalty. But at this point, Kim didn't care. Waiting for a straight month with no communication and not even being faced properly? She imagined her coming back home in a body bag. Pale and bloodied, but intact, because nobody gets a privilege of dismemembering Shego, except for Kim.
But she came back and decided to gloat first.
If Kim could, she would burst in tears. Wail, like she did during Ron's funeral she never attended. She definetly lost something again, even though when Shego found her trying to get into mercenary work in London, Kim didn't really have anything left. Besides a desire to die during the mission, probably. It felt hypocritical to blame Shego for using the depletion of Kim's will to live to her advantage. But Shego did promise the equal partnership. Fucking or not, partnership. Shego shared every secret.
And bolted the doors to the outside world before leaving. Reflecting on their time together made Kim nauseous now.
Feeling like a wronged bride in a telenovela she once watched, Kim tore that satin dress at the seam. She stopped in the middle of the room, dressed like a tourist. A cheap zip-up hoodie should be enough to cover her red hair without a baseball cap. Souvenir one would do later.
''You did not miss me then''.
Shego smiled when Kim pulled out a gun on her. Dark-haired woman looked as satisfied as ever. Her subtle smirk made her look like a snake. That what she was to Kim. A serpent she fought against for years and when she gave in, she still bled.
''You left me!'' Intending to spit it out, she screamed instead. Shego opened her perfectly lined mouth, but Kim scream again just to prevent her from talking.
'' You lured me here, lied to me and I believed you! What did you want, make me depended on you? In how many way?! She said we would be side by side this time and you locked me, left me, like an aged-out trophy bride! You never even considered marrying me! You laughed,'' Suddenely, her eyes glistened, ''at everything I did,'' Kim took a shuddered breath.
Every iniciated kiss, every iniciative Kim tried to take, every offer to help or at least to train some operatives. Only a laugh, a pat on the hip, maybe a permission to take a walk by herself. Sometimes an invite to watch Shego torture someone or to shoot a rude boodyguard. The only promise Shego kept is that Kim will never see the green glow coming towards her.
Shego used Kim's emotional breakthrough to talk.
''What did you expect? That I would let you participate? When a bullet could take you down?'' Shego laughed in the same manner she always did. Mockingly.
'' Am I also stupid? Deaf? Blind?'' Kim in two fast steps got in her face, ''That's why you didn't talk to me for a MONTH?'' Kim screamed, clutching her fists.
Now it will not stop.
''When I put on those horrid dresses you would pester me about?! The ones you called FUCKABLE? I waited for you to come back in a bodybag or sweep me into your arms into a chocking hold. And you came back and couldn't FACE ME, WHAT THE FUCK, SHEGO?''
Kim didn't notice how Shego's face changed, didn't notice her own tears. She stormed past Shego, still holding onto the gun.
House eased into movement. Every guard heard yelling. A few watched Kim run from the dining room. One guard saw that Kim was armed. But when she aimed at her, the girl stopped, not raising her own gun. Took a step, then another. Guard held the eye contact, knowing that commands will not work. Not a lot of people here knew what Kim did for a living before or was capable of. But some of them had a feeling.
She jumped, one hand out for his gun. There was a shot and a crack. But when Shego accessed the cameras from her phone, she only saw an unmoving body not far from bedroom's door. Shego came out, not checking on it, heading straight to the control room, that was freshly empty. Almost not paying attention, she sent out an alert to all of the guards to ''NOT ENGAGE''. All of the doors silently clicked when Shego pushed a button on the main panel. The woman glanced at the screens, took out a gun from a small locker on the opposite wall and went into the corridor again.
Nobody faced Kim today. Existing felt less normal with every step. This house, with all of its tan walls and dark doorways that looks similar anywhere you turn. Was everything a demented fantasy? Did she get captured and drugged? Or maybe killed and her hell is loving Shego in a wrong way?
Moira didn't know about the commotion and was just passing the front door, when Kim appeared. Gun made the maid gasp, small nod to the living room was enough for her to move. But instead of getting out, Kim slowly turned around. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, fingers grew cold. She always felt this way at the begining of a fight.
''Come on!'' Kim's voice didn't sound like her own, ''Break your last promise'', the shadow blew past her.
''Finally kill me for fuck's sake!'' She didn't want to give Shego the opprotunity to take away such a close chance of freedom. Also, she was growing bored from everything. This life, her anger, thinking.
Something pierced her clothes, reaching the skin. Realization zapped Kim at the same time with a electricity charge. Redhead dropped in convulsions. Shego watched from six steps away, droping the taser at her feet.

Bruno makes dead dove content and no one is talking about it?
I don't want to see no one on tumblr claiming theyre the Bruno of their family when this man had pet rats (with no power influence) and maladaptive daydreamed incestuous telenovelas for his entertainment in the walls.
I have stopped and rewatched that part MULTIPLE times to make sure I heard him right, had the subtitles on and everything and I will not be gaslit into thinking otherwise. Disney really fucking did that. They really put that in a movie meant for kids and it is fucking AMAZING.
Want to talk about being SEEN I fucking lost my mind because this man just dropped it like it was no big thing and I for one am in love. And no it is of no surprise it's with the green villain-coded uncle in the walls ostracized from his family.
So unless people are getting a lot cooler real fucking fast I refuses to speed past this fact. Because I don't see anyone getting high and mighty over that fact (almost like I have a point with this rambling: that fiction is fucking great in all ways and adults can create that kind of content for themselves)
ANYWAY, THIS IS A BRUNO STAN/SIMP ACCOUNT WE LOVE THE MAN IN THE ALLS THANK YOU, GOOD DAY!

A TRIP TO THE BEACH - PART 2 (DANTE X FEM!READER)
Summary: When Dante shows up, Patty finally learns how things ended between Y/N and him but that's not the kind of ending she likes. (Part 5 of A Tab To Erase) (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4)
Tags: Dante is Tony Redgrave / Love / Angst / Blood and Gore / Minor Character Death / Violence
Author’s note: This is the end! I hope you enjoyed this fan fiction as much as I enjoyed writing it. I can't wait to read your thoughts about it. Is it the end you expected? How did you imagine it? Tell me everything. I'm all ears
Patty dared peeping from above the headrest of the couch when the woman opened the door, definitely curious to see the two adults’ reactions when they would finally see each other – though she still feared Dante’s wrath a little.                 But when she finally saw them face-to-face, this couple she had been imagining – and rooting for - for weeks, she didn’t care about her friend’s anger or disappointment - He would definitely thank her later - . They looked so perfect, like coming from an episode of one of those telenovelas she loved so much. Dante was towering Y/N perfectly and she was so pretty. And the lighting.  Gosh “Like a scene from a movie.” She sighed. If only she could read their minds right now.      “There you are, young lady!” Dante declared with a menacing finger as he entered the house            “Hi Dante! What are you doing here?” Patty tried to play innocent but there was something in her voice that couldn’t fool Dante. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I never thought this annoying little brat would dare come here … or steal my stuff.”  “That’s alright, Dante. We were having fun actually. And at least, that girl dared visit me … unlike someone else.” Dante definitely felt that sting and he knew he deserved it. “How long has it been?” “A while.” He said, pretending to be casual even though he had the right amount of years and months in mind. “And this day never happened. Come on, Patty. Let’s go.”             No, no, no. This couldn’t end like that. Patty thought. Not after all this time. “Can I at least finish my tea please?”                  “ I’ll buy you a tea on the way back to Red Grave. Let’s go!” Dante insisted as he came closer to the girl to grab her by the arm and drag her away from Y/N’s place as fast as possible. “Right. Like I’m going to believe you. You never buy me anything, even when you owe me.” Y/N smiled while Dante sighed deeply. “Damn it.”                  “ Plus, you still owe me a trip to the beach.”   “ Alright. I’ll take you to the beach. You happy? Now let’s go.” He tried to pull her from the sofa but the girl resisted.             “ Or … you can let Y/N finish her story.” Patty suggested. Dante glanced at Y/N whom he hadn’t seen go to the kitchen to prepare him a strawberry sundae. “Actually I’d prefer that. Y/N can you continue your story, please?”   “ Well, maybe Dante can tell you so that you can finally erase his tab while I’m making this devil a strawberry sundae. Topped with a cherry and two pink wafers, is that it?”           “I don’t know. You’re the pro.” He had a faint smile at her that Patty noticed and beamed at. About time. “Where did you stop you damn story?”
A TRIP TO THE BEACH - Part 2
Dante was sitting at his desk, eyes closed, a magazine covering his face while he was listening to some good old school metal on the jukebox he had just acquired when the damn machine starting to sizzle and shake. “You gotta be kidding me.” Dante complained and, with a deep sigh, got up from his chair to kick the jukebox like Y/N had once taught him. “Funny how those machines always need a good kick to work.”          When he thought of his beloved girlfriend and realised how late it was, he wondered how the hell she had not arrived yet. It was very dark outside and the clock was striking one. The restaurant should be closed by now and Y/N should have been in his arms at least an hour ago, naked preferably.
Not sure Patty needs to know that.
Worry tied Dante’s stomach in a knot in spite of his sleepy brain screaming at him not to be paranoid. “Relax, Dante. She’s probably helping clean the kitchen or something”, he told himself     And yet, tired of repeating this sentence over and over again in his head, he decided to grab his coat and head to the diner. Better be paranoid and look like fool rather than wait here and worry one more second. Plus, he had waited long enough already and he had made a fool of himself in front of Y/N more than once. So what was one more time, huh?
But when Dante arrived at the restaurant and found it empty and dark, he wished he looked like a paranoid fool. But he was not paranoid and he was not a fool. He was terrified and alert in ways he hadn’t been for years. “Please be okay.” He whispered as he entered the place, feeling once again like a little boy hidden in a cupboard, crying for mommy and his brother. A ghastly feeling for someone who had spent years burying his past deep in his armoured heart as a promise … a dying wish.
Dante climbed the stairs quickly, very quickly and yet not quickly enough to his taste, only to stop and freeze at the sight and smell of warm blood on the wooden floor. But there was not just iron and salt flowing to his nostrils, there was this stench, rotting and disgusting, a stench only his demon sense could pick but that would soon be unbearable for humans too, he was sure of it. The stench of decaying corpses.
The son of Sparda never really liked Y/N’s parents. He actually lost almost all sort of respect for them the second they insulted him and made him understand they would never approve of him or of his relationship with their precious daughter. But when he saw them both, drenched in blood and completely ripped apart, their broken bodies lying on the floor of in their bedroom, he couldn’t help but feel sadness and compassion especially for the woman who was standing in the corner of the room, petrified and in tears, her small feminine frame strongly hold in a demonic grip. A nightmarish vision that had been scaring Dante for too long.               “Took you long enough… Son of Sparda.” The demon said with a calm and yet menacing cavernous voice that would make anyone tremble in fear. But that wasn’t the sound of his voice that made Dante afraid – because yes he was afraid –
You? Afraid? Rrr, shut up!
It was the sight of the woman he loved so close to that monster’s sharp claws.           The half-demon squinted at the devil before him, at his cloaked silhouette hidden in the darkness, trying to hide his fear, turning it into a nonchalant and over-confident mask he knew how to wear better than anything else (except his red leather jacket) but that somehow didn’t look as convincing as usual. “I’m afraid you’ve got the wrong guy, pal. Sparda may have a son. But that's not me.”          “Tony, what’s going on?” Y/N’s voice was shaking just like the rest of her body.            “It’s alright, baby. I’ll get you out of here. I promise.” He had too.        “You can try and pretend to be someone else. But I know who you are. Dante, Son of Sparda. And soon, your blood will flow for what your father did to my master.” Usually, that same old routine would have made Dante scoff and slice that creature in two for he was used to demons coming at him with pathetic threats and silly villain monologues. But today, what was at stake was simply way too important for impulsiveness.           “And who would that master be?”         “The one true king of the underworld. Mundus.”
Dante had heard that name before, long ago, in something that was now a long-time memory. Mundus was the villain of his favourite bedtime story, the one his father would always tell him and Vergil before going to sleep, when they were nothing but kids tucked in their beds.            Mundus. He remembered how that name would make him fidget and jump in anticipation and how his big brother in the bed under his would always kick him through the mattress to make him stop wriggling like a hyperactive goldfish out of water.            Mundus, the so-called Prince of Darkness Sparda had cast away and locked in the underworld a long long time ago to free the human world from his diabolical tyranny. Never thought he would have ever heard about him in another context though.
“Oh. That dude. Thought he would be dead by now… like you soon will be”    “Cocky, just like that filthy betrayer Sparda.” The demon smiled, showing short pointy black fangs that yet shone in the dim moonlight. “And in love with a human, just like he was. It would be a shame …” He grabbed a strand of Y/N’s (colour) hair to toy with it with a vicious smirk, making the young woman shiver even more. “… if something were to happen to her the same way something happened to your slut mother” Dante felt his jaw clench tight and his nails pierce the flesh of his palms. The rage, it was slowly yet surely eating at him.               “Don’t you dare talk about my mother! And don’t you dare lay even just a finger on Y/N!” Dante growled, not realising he had just given his identity up. But the black demon did and with a satisfied smile, he cupped Y/N’s face in between his vile sharp claws to burry his long nose in Dante lover’s soft hair and smell her human perfume that was oh so exquisite to him. An intended provocation and an effective one.      “How chivalrous! How noble! I’m sure your father would have said the same thing…” Dante frowned and clenched his fists even tighter, trying to stay put and in control, trying desperately to resist the powerful will to pounce on that demon and impale him on his sword and spill his guts on the floor. He knew he had too because he knew that the reaction he thought so much about was exactly what that monster wanted.           He was trying to infuriate him, to make him reckless and stop thinking rationally so that he would have him at a possible advantage when he let his rage have the best of him. Provocation at its finest. A strategy Dante knew all about. “… had he been here when I and my fellow demons tore her apart.” Yes, he knew all about it and yet... “Mundus says farewell, hybrid filth.” He suddenly stopped caring about what he knew.
Dante jumped and with a scream, unsheathed his sword to slash the arm that was holding Y/N. An impulsive move, a mistake he realised only too late, when the demon pierced the soft neck of the one he loved the most with his sharp claws in an attempt to protect himself from the demonic blade.       Everything went so quick to Y/N and yet so slow to Dante. She didn’t scream. She didn’t even have time to realise what was going on or to process the sudden pain. She only understood something was wrong when her body hit the floor and she saw Dante’s icy blue eyes widen and stare at her in horror. Then she felt the blood, her blood she was quite certain of it, running along her pale skin covering it in shades of dark red.                   Dante screamed like never before, like no human could, so loud the walls trembled and the demon slightly bowed down in fear. He screamed with an anger, a rage he didn’t know he was capable of, something so deep and passionate he never thought was in him. Something fiery … something … demonic. It felt like his skin was burning, like there was a ravaging fire spreading, growing in his body, menacing to burst, to combust him. And it almost did. It almost did but it stopped just when Rebellion sliced the head of the demon open, spilling his brains and his blood on the walls behind him.   Then, there was a relief that all this was over. The fight. The fire. The fear…  No not the fear!
“Y/N” Dante ran to her and quickly pressed her body against his. His hand found her neck to apply pressure on her bloody wound. She was barely conscious but she was still with him. “I’m so sorry, baby. Hold on, I got you.” He kissed her forehead. It was so cold against his lips. “You’re gonna be okay. I promise.”
Dante stayed by her side for what seemed hours to him, holding her tight against him, trying to keep the weakening life in her safe, when finally blue and red lights began to flicker in the bedroom. What happened next was so blurry. All he could make out were a group of men dragging Y/N from his embrace, saying they would take care of her and that he had to let her go. He didn’t know how he did it but he eventually obeyed those men, in spite of his arms trying to reach for her.         He followed them- followed Y/N- to the crowded street where the nearby residents were crammed into, whispering and trying to take a peep at what was going on in this usual very quiet neighbourhood. But he didn’t care about them or their judgmental looks. All he cared about was Y/N being taken away in an ambulance.   The paramedics didn’t let him in. And in spite of how much he wanted to fight their decision, Dante chose not to. He couldn’t delay them. Y/N’s life depended on time and too much had been wasted already.
But he found her again, like he would always find her, and he spent days waiting for her to wake up, waiting for her beautiful (colour) eyes to open again, for her sweet voice to say she was alright, his hand holding hers in an eternal grip that only her awakening could break, days in which he had to think about what happened, about what could have happened and what will happen. So many hypothesis, each one worse than the last.       And when Y/N finally awoke and, with a soft smile that bear no grudges or hatred, said. “Hey handsome.” He did what he thought he should have done days ago. “We need to end this.”
***
Patty’s eyes were glowing with tears as she was staring at Dante without blinking. This was certainly the saddest love story she had ever heard in her entire life. Even Bolero in Spring had never made her feel so much. “You can’t do that!” She declared as if in denial, as if she could change the past. “The story can’t end like this!”    “But it is not a story, Patty. This is not some television show made to satisfy a bunch of hopeless romantic little girls. It’s real life. And real life is tough and …” Dante looked at Y/N, at her sad eyes and at the scar she was trying to conceal under a red silk scarf. “What’s done cannot be undone.” “But you loved each other!” The girl was almost furious, shaking her head nervously.              “Patty.” Dante said calmly.       “And you still love each other, I’m sure of it. I can tell by the way you both tell your story.”   “Patty.” Dante repeated with insistence this time.     “I won’t have this ending! No way!” She shouted with a deep frown.                  “It has already ended!” Dante screamed and Patty froze. He had never screamed at her, never in his entire life, even in times when she was incredibly annoying. He had never screamed at her. “It has ended. And neither you nor anyone can change it, okay? If it doesn’t please you, you can leave, wait in the car and go back to your mushy love series.”
There was a pregnant silence in which Patty stared at Dante with a disappointment he had never witnessed. “Y/N was right. You know how to fight demons. But you don’t know how to fight YOUR demons.” And she got up and left the house to do exactly what her beloved friend had told her, meaning wait in the car to go back to mushy love stories, leaving Dante and Y/N alone in the living room with nothing else but a heavy discomfort.
“I’m sorry for making a scene.”                “ Well, you always had a flair for the dramatic.” They both had a conspiratorial smile similar to the ones they used to share when they were younger except it was fainter, sadder. “ She read the letter, the one you wrote me” Dante said staring at his hands in discomfort. He couldn’t look at Y/N, not with all the memories rushing in his head.                  “ I figured.” But she looked at him, excepting deep down he would say something, anything about what happened.”Never thought you would have kept it though.”               “ Why not?”       “ You never replied.” And there it was, that disappointment Dante well deserved.   “I did reply. I just never sent the letter.” Y/N's eyes slightly widened at this unexpected confession. What did he mean by that?              “Huh, words of advice. After writing a letter to someone, you need to mail it.” She declared sarcastically, not really knowing how she managed to crack such a joke. Was it a joke? Maybe, because Dante laughed a bit.       “ I had no money to buy a stamp.” The girl scoffed. She knew the man before her all to well to know that this was “Bullshit.” But she had missed it, missed him.  “What did it say?”          “ Same crap I told you at the hospital. How much I was sorry and … You know what? … There.” He opened his red coat to take a crumpled letter from his inside pocket. It was unsealed, stamped –obviously- and her name and address were written on it.                “ I hope Devil May Cry will never provide delivery service cause this has clearly arrived way too late.” However she took it in her hands, gathering all her inner strength not to tremble as she could feel all those emotions shaking inside of her.  “ Years too late. You can say it.” Dante smiled as he watched the letter he had kept to himself for so many years finally reaching its long-awaited recipient.  “I don’t expect you to read it … or open it. You can actually turn it into a paper plane or shove it down my throat if you want. I won’t fight you.” Of course he had to joke, to play it cool but she didn’t mind. She knew it was just one of his defence mechanism and she couldn’t blame him for it.      “ So why giving it to me?” Dante shrugged, refusing to admit he did want her to read what his young 19 years old self had to say, what he still had to say. “You can’t stop with the devil-may-care for a second and admit what you truly want, what you truly feel, can you?”     “ Fight my demons, huh?” He quoted her and she nodded. “Yes. Would that be so complicated for a ‘menacing devil hunter’ like yourself?” It was her turn to quote him but that quote made him melancholically happy.                   “ I guess that’s a challenge I still can not face.”              “ Or don’t want to” There was a new pause and as they finally looked at each other’s eyes, they knew they would not fix what had been broken years ago today. He was not ready. Not yet anyway. And that was okay. Y/N was patient. She could wait. She could keep waiting.     “Goodbye Y/N” Especially when this time a kiss on her forehead and a hand on her cheek felt more hopeful than ever. “Goodbye, Dante.”
And she watched him leave, again, but certain that someday, one day he would come back to her as he always would. After all, he promised.

There’s a theory that Rose is most likely to die in this season since Jennie mentioned there’s gonna be a major death towards the end & villain usually gets their (literal)dead end in telenovela; which I hope not turned out to be true as well as lowkey agree at the same time. How do you think about this?
so, nonnie, i...have a lot of thoughts about this.  because this does involve talking about pics, etc. from the last day of shooting, that may include spoilers other people don’t want, so putting this under a cut.
yeah, pretty sure rose is going to die.
you’re right that jennie mentioned that there’s going to be a major death near the end of the series and also she’s mentioned that villains in telenovelas don’t get happy endings (even if there’s some wiggle room - and i’ll get into that part in a bit) - and both of those seem to point to rose dying. but!  we can be even more specific! major death means that it’s probably going to be either one of the main characters (jane, michael, rafael, xo, alba, rogelio, petra) or one of the main reoccurring characters (rose, luisa, jr). of these, the only two who weren’t at the jafael wedding are michael and rose. (actually i can’t remember if rogelio was there or not but let’s be real, they probably aren’t going to kill him off.  there’s no narrative purpose to that.  and this, i guess, is assuming the writers even care about narrative purpose at this point.)
anyway.  what this basically means is that everyone else in that group is safe.  which means either rose or michael dies.  and, yeah, there are good reasons that neither of them would be at the jafael wedding (obviously rose is rose and michael is in montana - although he’s supposed to be coming back for another episode - more on that below, too), but the point of the matter is everyone else is safe.
jennie’s not stupid enough to bring back michael and do all that shit to him in the first half of the season and then just kill him when he comes back.  at least i don’t think she’s that bad of a writer, but this season....  i’m giving michael plot armor.
which leaves rose.  and given that rose is being trumped up as returning to villain form this season - given that one of the articles earlier on mentioned that rose might turn against luisa since she is now seeing luisa as the reason she’s in prison instead of rafael (which is who she blamed in season four)--
i doubt rose is making it out of the series alive.  i honestly think the episode she dies is likely the episode where michael returns, and if someone is killing her, i hope it’s him.  that would fulfill that aspect of his narrative arc.  and if luisa is working with rafael and the police against rose (which i think is likely...and went into at length in another ask), it makes more sense for her to be working with michael because she’s worked with him previously (in seasons one and two). the only other person who would have a fulfillment of character arc by killing rose would be luisa.  and i don’t see that as being in her character and honestly that would bother me even more than killing off rose does.  she just as easily can fulfill her character arc by officially turning against rose and choosing raf/family/toxicity/etc. over her in a final moment without having to be the one who kills her. and - returning to villains don’t get their happy endings, even if there’s wiggle room - i think that’s actually referring to luisa.  because even if rose dies, luisa can still be with her family.  that’s not her happy ending, which would be with rose, but it’s wiggle room for her to still be happy, even if she is romantically alone and lost, you know, the greatest love story ever told and, ah, you know, the one person who actually supported her through the past four seasons without expecting anything in return she just loved her like-- but this isn’t what you asked for.  you asked me how i felt.  and you can probably guess how i feel about it from the tone of the previous paragraphs - i think it’s shit.  and here’s why! first of all, please note, going into this season, i didn’t expect luisa and rose to stay together.  i thought trying to do that and have luisa still be family with raf would be really hard, and i didn’t think they would go the narrative route of redeeming rose, even though they’d started down that path and could have done it.  there were other things they seeded (like dennis thinking michael might have been working with sin rostro) that they could have used, and they just didn’t.  there were things they could have chosen to do and they chose to do otherwise.  i thought luisa might have used up all the money to free rose, but they did the milos thing.  etc.  i’m tired, friends.  very tired when it comes to jtv and their treatment of luisa. anyway - and i’ve posted about some of this - it feels like the series is teaching a handful of very problematic things with this narrative (and let’s be real, season five appears to be full of problematic narrative teachings but. not getting into all of those. just. not.  you didn’t ask, not going there). 1) family > romantic relationships.
in and of itself, not a bad thing to teach!  sometimes this is true!  but not always, and here’s the problem: rafael and luisa’s relationship is toxic.  not saying there aren’t elements of toxicity to rose and luisa’s relationship because there definitely are, but i do believe that raf and luisa’s relationship as it has been shown to us by the series is far more toxic to luisa’s mental health and wellbeing than rose and luisa’s is.
see, here’s the thing - luisa forgave rose.  and every bad thing rose has done to luisa can be easily explained - rose says in season two that she had to get elena put in jail to free them - her and luisa - and given that when rose was not doing what elena wanted at the beginning of season two luisa was kidnapped and tortured - luisa being a threat to rose’s marriage to emilio (telling emilio that they were having an affair) would likely have gotten her killed.  putting luisa in a mental institute?  not okay.  removing luisa as a threat in a way that doesn’t get her killed?  a little bit more okay - and the show lampshades this because in the list of things rose did to luisa that they showed at the beginning of the season putting her in a mental institute is not on there.  (but maybe that’s because we’d have to address the problems with luisa’s arc in season four, namely that luisa is blaming rose for something rose was not involved in - luisa should be mad at magda and anezka for gaslighting her, luisa should be mad at petra for not getting her out of the mental institute as soon as she knew what was up, luisa should still be mad at raf for throwing rose in jail - but no, that’s all rose’s fault-- anyway.)
killing emilio and kidnapping mateo were business.  they had nothing to do with luisa personally.  they may have affected luisa, but they weren’t about luisa.  wearing a different face was a safety protocol - and rose did this only twice and the second time luisa knew, so there’s no reason to hold that against her. and rose kidnapped luisa because both luisa and michael trumped up kidnapping as romantic and rose wanted to explain everything to luisa and i tend to headcanon that luisa fainted instead of rose drugged her but you know.  to each their own, i guess.
but also?  the things rose did?  all in seasons one and two.  with the exception of kidnapping luisa, all of those things were problematic to luisa in seasons one and two.  (the face-changing not included because post-susanna, luisa would have known and it wouldn’t have been an issue.)
for three years, rose didn’t do anything.  she gave up her entire previous lifestyle to be with luisa.  she chose luisa over her criminal past because she loved her.  because luisa was more important.
further - rose is the only character we see constantly trying to make sure luisa isn’t drinking and constantly checking in on her with no ulterior motive than just making sure luisa is okay (you can - and i have - make the argument that calling luisa when luisa was on her bender in season one had more to do with making sure rafael didn’t lose his shares in the marbella to protect the criminal plastic surgery ring business - actually you can make ulterior motive comments on a lot of rose’s stuff if you want that interpretation, but i don’t think that lines up with what the show has shown us of rose.  with the exception of that phone call.  anyway).  rose is the only character who seems to actually consistently care about luisa. and the three year time skip proved that she could and did change for luisa.  they had a healthy relationship.  there was no reason to believe they did not have a healthy relationship.  (this blog does not subscribe to the season five rose let luisa get black out drunk because it does not line up with the rose the series has shown us up to this point.  writers, character consistency.  anyway.)
further - rose went above and beyond to make sure that luisa was comfortable with her after everything that happened - often to her own risk and detriment.  after killing emilio, rose told luisa were he was buried - which would implicate her in the murder - and wrote her a letter about it, which is almost as good as a signed confession.  rose reached out after mutter kidnapped luisa - and, yeah, they didn’t talk about police stuff and, yeah, susanna shut that shit down as soon as luisa told michael - but it still happened.  rose gave luisa her kill sheet, which was as good as a signed confession, and apparently told her where the bodies were buried.  rose kept in mind the time zones and when raf sent luisa a happy birthday email she gave it to luisa instead of deleting it or destroying it because she knows how important raf is to luisa, and because she knows and understands the importance of their relationship, she went out of her way to make sure she and luisa could still be together and luisa could still visit raf, despite how risky that was for her.
and if you really want to include the black out drunk scene, rose literally signed over all of her bank accounts to luisa, giving luisa full access to everything she was doing whether her money at any moment in time, including if she was still incolved in any shady crime lord business.
rose did everything she could to have a healthy relationship with luisa, and for three years, they had a healthy relationship.  rose only returned to being sin rostro when she was worried that someone else had turned luisa against her and when she was realized she would need to get out of jail herself.
and if you want to bring up michael and torturing him, please realize this is something that didn’t come up until season five, and regardless of that, rose was still better for three years.
compare this to rafael’s treatment of luisa throughout the entire series.
no, rafael might not have the huge moments the way rose does, but he does not have to.  rafael consistently shows a lack of caring towards his sister - when rose was worried about where luisa was in season one, rafael’s just “she’s on a bender; she’s hiding, it’s nothing new, don’t worry about it”; when emilio came to visit the marbella in season one and they threw the huge party, he intentionally didn’t invite luisa - which, given circumstances, might be understandable except that this is blatantly disrespectful and hurtful to emilio as well, who is his main guest; rafael consistently forgives everyone else except luisa; rafael consistently only goes to luisa when he needs something from her, and once he’s gotten what he needs, he stops caring about her.  rafael had no reason to suspect that luisa was with rose for the three year time skip and had proof that eileen wasn’t rose and yet still didn’t let them around mateo - and it does not matter that he was right in those circumstances because he had no way of knowing he was right.  rafael doesn’t want to visit luisa when she’s in rehab or the mental hospitals because he expects her to say the same thing she always says, which means he gave up on her during season one.
and worse, luisa blames herself for the bad things that happen to rafael and he never brings up that these things are not her fault.  luisa doesn’t control who rose kills.  (and let’s be real here, rafael didn’t really like emilio, so his upset over rose killing him seems a little displaced.)  and the episode where it’s revealed that luisa is blaming herself and feeling so guilty she wants to drink over it about disappointing rafael, the show tells us this makes rafael a good brother, when in fact it’s just rafael is driving luisa to drink because he will not forgive her.
and luisa constantly and consistently tries to prove herself to rafael without it going anywhere.  (not going into season five with regards to this.)
and the irony of all this is that rafael consistently chooses romance over family with his relationship with jane and that is rewarded.
rafael’s relationship with luisa is consistently more demeaning to her and has more of an emotional and mental negative impact on her but somehow that relationship is the one that is touted as more healthy.  it’s not.
and this is especially problematic with regards to the lgbtqia+ viewship because it’s teaching us that being with your toxic family is more important than being with your partner.  even if luisa as a lesbian is not the main reason for the conflict between her and rafael, that implication is still there, especially given that the straight relationship between jane and rafael is allowed to be romance > family with regards to rafael.
this is a problem.
2) it further exacerbates the “women in love are weaker” issue.
what i mean by that is this - if rose was not in love with luisa, rose would not have been caught.  rose would be on her island.  safe.  (or potentially she could still be working as one of elena’s underlings because she wouldn’t have a strong motivation to get out from under elena’s thumb and then i guess in that case maybe she would have been caught, but that’s me using what they showed us in season two to try and talk about the elena/rose dynamic that they basically threw away in season three and decided not to deal with again - so you can see i’m still a little salty about this but you know what, their show.)
rose wouldn’t have given her kill sheet to anyone.  rose wouldn’t have implicated herself in emilio’s murder because they wouldn’t have been able to find his body.  rose wouldn’t be pretending to be eileen, so eileen wouldn’t have killed scott.  rose likely wouldn’t be returning to miami to get caught.  she’s got no reason to do so.
what this tells us, then, is that rose’s love for luisa and willingness to do what luisa needs is her weakness - her only weakness.
which potentially has another fun complication of a woman’s love for another woman makes her weaker because you can make that argument with luisa, too - that her love for rose is her main sin throughout the entire series because if she was a good sister, she’d pick rafael over her lover - but the focus here is on rose and why killing rose off is shit not on luisa - but it’s hard to talk about rose without also talking about luisa (and then talking about rafael, because that’s the love triangle - rose chooses luisa chooses rose - but i’ve addressed that in a different post, too).
and jtv is not the only show that does this.  women are consistently told that being in a romantic relationship makes them lesser, that their emotions make them lesser, and for rose, who is a sociopath, who has a problem with emotions in the first place, having emotions and choosing to act on them literally makes her weaker.
this is a problem.
3) it tells us that no matter how much you change, you can never be more than who you originally were.
and here’s part of why the time skip was a huge problem and likely why they have to do the rose let luisa get black out drunk thing in season five - rose kept her word and gave up her crime lord business to be with luisa.
when luisa makes the claim in the season three finale that rose changed, she was right.  rose changed.  for luisa.  there was no reason to believe that they did not have a healthy relationship during those three years, with the occasional fight over rose not wanting to go to miami because that’s risky for her - but even then, they still went.  the show gave us nothing up to that point to believe that rose hadn’t changed.  it still hasn’t, not in a believable way.  even if you bring up michael - that was before the three year time skip.
one of the entire points of rose’s relationship with luisa was that luisa was more important to her than anything else and that she would do anything for luisa and be anything for luisa.  of course, rose changed.
just the show?  the writers?  they don’t care.  because rose is a villain and villains must be punished.  never mind that rose changed and stopped being a villain for luisa.  what she did early on can’t be forgiven by the show’s writers.  and so she has to return to form and be a villain so that they can punish her and, likely, kill her off.
and, okay, you want to bring up season five and rose’s actions there and at the end of season four?  let’s talk about that.
but to talk about how rose is acting in season five, we have to talk about season four from rose’s point of view.
at the beginning of season four, rose was in jail.  she still was at the end of season four.  as far as i know, she still is in season five.  but at the beginning of season four, rose was in a relationship with luisa.  luisa was trying to get her out of jail.  her girlfriend of the last three years - the love of her life - loved her and was trying to help her.  (yes, rose killed a minion.  one who was probably watching michael.  likely because she expected rafael to turn luisa against her.  or because something might happen to luisa and she would need to find out.  or something - she’s in jail, she wants collateral.)
and then, all of a sudden, luisa dropped off.  was gone.  disappeared.  no contact, no explanation, no nothing to give rose any indication of what happened to her.  she was just gone.
rose was a crime lord.  rose knows luisa is her weakness.  do you know what probably went through rose’s mind at that point?
she probably panicked.  the last time luisa randomly disappeared, mutter had kidnapped her and ended up torturing her due to her connection to rose.  she probably sent out as many people as she could to find out what happened, and that’s what led her to rafael.
all of her actions past that point are 1) to get in contact with luisa again and find out what the fuck happened (although she knew.  she knew it was rafael.  because it was always rafael.  even when he was wrong) and 2) to get out of prison, where she would not have been if she hadn’t trusted luisa to get her out or chosen luisa knowing she was likely to get caught.
honestly - the satin road is likely money to go to the account to get her out, which was supposed to be what luisa did.  and rose was letting luisa take care of that instead of returning to her criminal roots to do it herself - that was the point of her arc in season four.  not that luisa had to be involved in criminal activity but that rose trusted luisa instead of doing criminal activity- a trust that is consistently shown to be misplaced.
so, nonnie, let’s just say that i do not have happy feelings about rose dying.  i expect it to happen.  but i think, narratively, it’s a shit decision.
and one of the bad parts about this - to me, anyway - is that petramos is showing that they easily could have given rose and roisa a redemption arc.  and they’re choosing not to.  because they want to punish a villain, and rose is the designated villain - despite her changes over the series - as opposed to, say, magda, who has not changed, who has given no indication she wants to change, who has consistently fucked over petra both on her own and through her manipulations of anezka.
like, let’s be real here, magda is worse than rose is.  the show has not given magda any redeeming qualities.  and she’ll probably get out of the series completely free, the same way she has for her gaslighting of luisa.
but, you know, that’s more salt than maybe you asked for.

I really hope Michael being back won’t just be an opportunity to tarnish what villadero had for a jafael endgame. I agree that jafael is likely to be endgame but I don’t want villadero’s impact to be lessened for that. Really excited for jtv’s return tho (:
I mean here’s the thing right. Jafael is endgame no matter what. We already know this. And so it makes it incredibly hurtful to bring Michael back at all... no matter what the situation is, whether he has amnesia or whatever else. Because the fact is that it puts things in a situation where Jane doesn’t end up with Michael even though he’s alive and breathing and that is just insulting to everything that Villadero shared, and insulting to all the fans that loved them to start with. And there can only be one endgame. You can’t have both Villadero and Jafael, and since Jafael already gets endgame, it feels like it would’ve just been fair to leave Villadero fans with all the good memories they had before he died. Because there’s something incredibly unfulfilling, I think, to know that Michael’s just out there and... that’s that. Basically. He’s out there, living his own life, completely separate from Jane and it’s sort of like, after everything they’ve been through, there’s something incredibly empty about them leading separate lives forever just because he had amnesia for the last three years. I would rather they had some huge fight or w/e tbh??
And someone pointed this out but, in a way it makes it feel like Rose had somehow won. She shot Michael, and that was the beginning of the end for him and he basically lost everything he valued the most in his life: his family and his career. And that just feels so unfair for Michael, who, at the root of it all, is a good guy and has done nothing but try his hardest to protect Jane. And this doesn’t even have anything to do with Jafael/Raf. It just feels incredibly unfair to just Michael himself. After dedicating his life to catching Rose, this is where he ends up. And no matter how we spin it, it’s like... there’s a possibility that it’d be easier for present amnesia Michael to let go of Jane because things aren’t the same anymore and they’ve led different lives for so long which DOES make sense but the fact is that, this is a result of the separation that they went through caused by Rose to start with and idk but it just feels weird. And I mean, we all know that at the end of the day, if he does get his memories back Michael is just gonna want Jane to be happy and if that means Rafael now, then he’ll let Jane go. And while that is a nice thing to do on Michael’s part, it still goes back to: he never would’ve lost Jane if it weren’t for Rose and so Rose still would’ve won. Tbh, Rose already won when Michael “died” but this just feels doubly cruel. And as much as I love Rose... I don’t want her to win. Rose is not supposed to win. She’s the main villain of the show. She’s killed so many people, she kidnapped Mateo, she killed Luisa’s father and that’s still shitty even if I don’t care about Emilio, among so many other crimes. This is not what telenovelas are about either so.. idk. I guess either way it’s still too soon, we don’t know how things will pan out or how the show will end so my opinion might still change but atm, those are my thoughts on it.

JANE THE VIRGIN Finale Articles Links Round Up
Jane the Virgin, a show I never missed and affected my emotions on surprising ways wrapped up last week. It did well by plots that I feel like I’ve only ever seen done badly. The finale was pretty perfect in that it highlight what was special about the show and giving us the viewers a loving goodbye. I don’t know where the show will ultimately fit in with the direction in which television is moving, it kind of feels like an end of something and the beginning of something. Going through these fair wells might be a first step.
I’m actually starting with a couple of articles that really weren’t about the show’s finale. The first is technically a review of Emily Nussbaum’s I Like to Watch, as she has been a great champion of the show, as well as generally insisting that the what is considered “serious” vs “frivolous” be reconsidered. This response to Nussbaum’s book starts in particular about her essay “Jane the Virgin isn’t a Guilty Pleasure”. Nussbaum’s essay does a great job at praising what the show does well as connecting it to earlier television shows. (Interestingly she doesn’t associate Jane with camp the way she did with Ugly Betty, nor does she list that as one of Jane’s predecessors despite the fact that both are US primetime networks adapting Latin American telenovelas. I’ll get more into why I think that is interesting and probably for the best later.) The article about her book does more to talk about how it’s been frequently overlooked for shows that seem created for men. In a lot of her book tour Nussbaum has spoken about how the way Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Sopranos were discussed around the time that they debuted drove her into tv criticism. If I were to pick something to be The Sopranos to Jane’s Buffy I’d probably go with Breaking Bad, as it had a notoriously difficult time getting its fans to care about/not hate Walt’s home life. Walt’s home life was about the slow consequences of his drug dealing and gangster activity. There was always a fair amount of gangster activity on Jane, but from watching Breaking Bad could leave you with the impression that there’s no way to make caring for an infant as exciting as the chaos of organized crime. Jane proved that isn’t true.
Also before the finale, The Ringer published this article that is sort of half praise/ half interview with the creator. It gets into the ways it played with the crime drama story types but never really treated it like that’s what it was about. It also gets into the writer’s room, and I was happy to learn that some people there have worked on telenovela’s in the past. It also has some quote’s from Jaime Camil who plays Jane’s father Rogelio de la Vega, which I thought were an interesting contrast to an interview he gave earlier in the show’s run. The Ringer article misleadingly identifies Camil as having starred in the “Spanish language version of Ugly Betty.” There were three Spanish language versions of Ugly Betty, or rather there were three Spanish language versions of the Colombian telenovela Yo Soy Betty La Fea which was the source material for Ugly Betty. Camil starred it the Mexican one, La Fea Más Bella, which debuted around the same time as Ugly Betty. (Fun fact, between LFMB and the later Por Ella Soy Eva, Camil has twice starred in Mexican remakes of Colombian telenovela’s in roles originated by Jorge Enrique Abello) I was at one point obsessed with the whole constant remaking of YSBLF phenomena and Ugly Betty in particular. It was taking on one of the most popular IPs of all time and had to do it in a very different format than the original. (Producing one episode a week for an indefinite number of years is very different than five episodes a week for approximately a year. For starters, there’s going to be a much smaller ensemble.) I never watched the original Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen. It wasn’t remade internationally with anything like the regularity as Betty, and ultimately that may have been in the American show’s favor. Part of me wants to say that Jane learned from some things Betty tried but didn’t necessarily execute so well. And another part of me thinks that not having the burden of massive international popularity allowed them to jettison some of the things that made it a harder to adapt for a different audience. In the original YSBLF, Betty’s family life and work life have this great tension where some of her more questionable decisions (specifically, choosing to help her boss commit fraud to the board of the company) are partially based in some disillusioning parts of her home life (namely, her father loosing his job due to the boss selling the company and never paying out his pension). Ugly Betty never played those two aspects of Betty’s life against her like that. In some ways it was much better to the character. (American Betty had professional ambition in a way that the original didn’t.) But in this not knowing how to connect her family and professional lives, it often felt like it was struggling to make the family life stories matter. Jane the Virgin never had this problem. Partially because it was much more interested in emotional reactions than plot twists, but also, because it didn’t need to follow an original’s example of making the work place drama the engine of the show. Between the different relationships they had with their source materials and how they mined the work/life balances of their character’s they were different shows, from different times. Too much comparison is just counterproductive.
Kathryn VanArendonk wrote beautifully about how the fantastical elements of the story made the more mundane plots like finding a good school for Mateo, and balancing child care and a burgeoning writing career, really work. VanArendonk doesn’t focus on how badly many other shows do on making the housekeeping side of life interesting. The fact that as a tv watcher you’ve been through so many examples of shows that feel like the drag or are just aimless when it comes to the personal life side of the work life divide does contribute towards the sort of miraculous feeling Jane sometimes created, but it’s probably for the best not to focus on the negative examples.
I also want to highlight this great personal essay about how the show dealt with both being an adult and having anxiety around sex, mostly because of cultural baggage. The show didn’t so much reject the things that we associate with the baggage (ie no one abandoned the Church. (Also not discussed was the fact that all three of the Villanueva women had anxiety about sex at some point in their stories, but as Xiomara’s was more about the aftermath of cancer and chemotherapy than culture created anxiety, so it doesn’t fit with Mariya Karimjee’s larger theme. Just bringing it up to say, I liked how Xiomara’s post-cancer story worked out.)
A final one from Vulture about the reveal that the narrator is the adult version of Jane’s son Mateo. I’m highlighting it because the Mateo has ADHD plot was one of the most moving stories the show did during the final season. ADHD is so misunderstood and there were so many ways that this could have gotten a too pat, wrong message of an ending. I’m glad voice over actor Anthony Mendez talks about how even as an adult it’s something with which he struggles.
I cheered for Petra for most of the series. However, due to things in my real life, I currently have a pretty low tolerance for stories about bad bosses. Petra’s worst quality was she was a terrible boss, mercurial and abusive. Inkoo Kang’s tribute to the character is good, and gets at why I’ve been interested in her, and her relationship with Jane, for so long. Despite finding Petra less likable in the final seasons than in earlier ones when she was more villainous, one of my favorite moments of hers did come this season. At one point she says that her “worst nightmare” is turning into her mother.  It could have been just a throwaway one, but then the narrator tells us it’s true and shows us what it looks like, and it manages to be hilarious, heartbreaking a you get why this would be Petra’s worst nightmare.
(The Toast once dedicated a “Femslash Friday” to the Jane and Petra dynamic. Here’s the link if interested.)
After the finale aired Slate also published an article about how the Michael is not dead plot didn’t work and was a disservice to the way love works. I mostly agree. I never really cared with whom Jane ended up.  The show was always more about figuring out haw to build and maintain relationships than proving who was more right for each other. And I did kind of like the “each in their own time” resolution to the love triangle. (I felt similarly to the one in Lost Girl.) I get why the show did it. I do agree it was why the final season dragged in some parts. I do think Michael coming back from the dead reinvigorated the Sin Rostro story just in time to climax on the penultimate episode. Whether or not that was worth it is up to you.
I do want to take this moment to point out that while watching Jane walk down the aisle in the final episode, I realized that there never really wasn’t a moment in the entire where I felt doubt that Jane was loved, or felt unlovable. The closest it ever got to that’s in its depictions of how growing up without a father affected her. But, as connecting with her biological father Rogelio and developing a very deep bond was such an important part of the show, that anxiety was never really felt for Jane. (Petra, on the other hand…) This makes her kind of an outlier of most of the series I watch, whether the was the point of the series (You’re the Worst, Crazy Ex Girlfriend) or kind of a side affect of the surreal and chaotic universe in which it’s set (Broad City, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). I’m not sure what to make of this. Is it part of why it would be more likely to be misidentified as a guilty pleasure? Is it a sign about changes in what makes a heroine “relatable”?
I’ve repeatedly said here that I’m thinking about tapering the amount of tv I watch until it’s none. In Margaret Lyons’s review, she talks about how Jane was in some ways the show that replaced Mad Men in her heart, which reminded me that when Jane started I wasn’t sure I wanted to start any new tv shows. Also both show’s care about episode structure in a way that feels undervalued these days.  I do kind of have to agree with Lyons that some of the final season felt like treading water. (Something that seemed to affect the more character than plot driven shows I’ve watched that have ended this year. This runs counter to most of my theory of what’s going on with tv these days.)
“Have you ever loved something so deeply it was almost impossible to talk about?” Jade Budowski wrote over at The Decider. And yes, for a while now, the things I like the most are the things I have the hardest time trying o talk about. It’s satisfying enough that you kind of want to just point and say “go, experience it for yourself.” Even though that runs the risk of letting it be taken as froth.
Over at Vox, Constance Grady wrote about how the finale worked, despite the fact that most of the conflict was resolved on the previous episode. It’s a loving tribute to how the show knew how to work and give us the happiest of endings without being too saccharine.
Finally, I want to day thanks for making Jane and Rafael’s wedding song Ximena Sariñana’s “Todo En Mi Vida”. Sure, I’ve been following Sariñana since her debut, Mediocre, so this is likely to appeal to me personally, but it’s also a beautiful song about learning to love the unexpected and build a new life around it.

Ruview “Jersey Justice”, (spoilers.)
Last weeks Drag Race was the all important Snatch Game (of love), the challenge that each season never fails to separate the weak from the herd, limping and sad, and with it being all stars, the results were more revealing than ever. This week the girls come in to talk about the previous elimination. Discussion turns to Manila’s rationale for picking Gia to go home, and about her weighing up her options. The other girls say they would have lost respect for Manila if she’d gotten rid of Valentina, the second weakest in Snatch Game. I ask myself why that’s such a bad thing, to get rid of a competitor that had a bigger chance of coming between winning and coming second. This week was revealing in this aspect, as we learn that, as a group, girls are hesitant to remove fan favourites or strong competitors lest there be repercussions in the real world between fellow queens and fans. This is an aspect of All Stars that has pissed me off since season 2. The All Star rules allow Rupaul to wash his hands of the responsibility of removing popular queens. Yes it ads to the drama, but it’s also convoluted and since those first few eliminations up until now the girls have basically used the honour system anyway. The weakest contender, as the other queens see it, should be the one to go home. So you can imagine when a beloved veteran lands herself in the bottom, the conflict that occurs. It could potentially affect working relationships and club bookings. That means while the queens claim to be fair, if mother Theresa were in the bottom two, they wouldn’t pull her lipstick lest they be stoned to death by rabid fans. This week, we finally saw a breakdown in the system. As Latrice, the weakest link by a landslide was a favourite, there was tension, but it should be simple. To not get rid of her would have literally robbed another queen. (I hate that term). Before all of that Rupaul descends the stairs wearing a tigers pelt the queens, (clearly under fear of death) compliment their all-powerful host on another fashion masterpiece, and then split up for this weeks challenge. Splitting in two pairs or threes the queens had to improv cases on daytime court show “Jersey Justice”, hosted by Michelle Visage. The teams are: Manila and Naomi, Trinity and Valentina, and Monet, Monique and Latrice as the trio. We get snippets of them preparing, Valentina trying to find the right accent, (she tried a few, it was hilarious,) and Latrice in the confessionals pre-emptively blaming her two teammates for being too overbearing. (Romper room fuckery part 3?) It was up to her to stand out amongst them, and unfortunately for her she didn’t. If their court case hadn’t been outlined by Ru beforehand it would not have been clear what they were doing. Monique’s character (They all had mildly offensive, long character names I didn’t bother writing them down,) wanted a cake made for a gay wedding, and Latrice and Monet, the bakery owners, refused, or did a bad job… I think. Monique pulled out the goopery and the gaggery, her personality a natural fit for this type of reality spoof, but Latrice, dressed like an old cat Lady, just gave her vacant stares. Then Monet’s character came in and said a bunch of things that ended up meaning very little. She looked sweaty. Anyway the other teams somehow had a way of seeing the others compete, because Trinity said what everyone was thinking, “Where are the jokes?” Props to Judge Michelle and Monique for making their segment watchable. Naomi and Manila’s case “She made me look like a bitch”, was a lot clearer, and a lot funnier. Manila went to Naomi, who is bronzed orange and wearing the wildest Jersey wig, for a makeover and Naomi fucked it up. It’s revealed halfway through though, once Manila unveils her poodle perm complete with bows, that Naomi was actually a dog groomer. When I say I cried with the reveal, and then Manila slipping into character as a yappy dog I’m not lying. Manila stole the show with her totally over the top portrayal, but Naomi did an amazing job keeping up also. After last weeks hilarious Wendy Williams impression it’s clear Naomi has grown out of just being all about the fashion and her legs. She’s trying and it’s much appreciated. Valentina and Trinity portray a case where a mother books Snooki to appear at her daughter’s birthday, and Valentina played the “OG” Snooki. Trinity was solid, just like Naomi, but it was Valentina, dressed as Snooki after a bad beating in a hurricane who won the scene. Some of it was visual, she’d never looked less beautiful and it was amazing. But she also had the voice down, and by the time she started bouncing up and down, her titties moving independently from her body it was game over for the other queens. Her second performance as “Villaintina” throughout the episode also held some of the episodes best bits. There was a revelation that were she to win a challenge she wouldn’t have trouble getting rid of threats, including Trinity who last week said she would save Valentina. with her “keep me here so you can beat me” speech last week, this comment from Val this week was a-ma-zing. Trinity was shook, now knowing her alliance was one sided, and Valentina’s over the top expressions were classic. Her out of place melt down in the workroom later after “the judge with the gold necklace” said her runway look was off was right out of a telenovela. (The outfit was a mess, my eyes couldn’t figure out what she was trying to do with it. She looked like a deflated pincushion.) She really is soaking it up this season with her boy runways, speeches and expressions, as the villain, the winner she doesn’t care, it’s the Valentina show and I love it. Runway time, and Rupaul comes down the runway dressed as a head of broccoli. Manila comes down in Marge Simpsons pink Chanel suit. Monet, in a move that might have ended up saving her, came out as Kim K in her “break the internet” champagne look. Monique, who took the win for the week in a Tina Turner lip-sync, comes down in another brown cow outfit and when I say I groaned, I’m not lying. I need to not see any more brown cows or sponges for the rest of my life. Props to Monique, who’s stunt in the lip-sync was keeping her wig ON. She flipped it, shook it, tussled it and it stayed on. I’ve never been so gagged. So, the elimination of Latrice was shocking, and unfortunate but, in my useless opinion, correct. Seeing Manila so sad and determined to save her friend was touching. Her lip sync again was pretty spot-on but there was a pizzazz and ferocity in Monique that gave her the win. Latrice’s stance that she was owed a crown due to her seniority, or how much she’s loved by other queens was a daft. I love Latrice, and she deserves accolades, and maybe a crown had she done better this season. But she don’t make me laugh and has a tendency to blame her poor performance on others. It’s a shame, because she is a special, amazing queen, but all’s fair in drag and war. It turns out, when you log on to twitter no one was that butt hurt by the elimination anyway because Gia Gunn doesn’t know whom Nancy Pelo

full name: lie nezha ren. gender + sexuality: masc. agender + demi. ethnicity + species: mistrali ( han chinese based ) + eastern dragon faunus. birthplace + birthdate: central mistral, in the mountains of kuroyuri village + [ redacted. ] guilty pleasures: telenovela, splurge spending on exotic / rare ingredients, splurge spending on sleep products ( soft blankets, sleep robes, pyjamas, pillows, etc. ), splurge spending on hair care products, reading awful literotica. phobias: mild eisoptrophobia ( specifically fear of their own reflection ) + scopophobia, claustrophobia ( specifically fear of suffocation ), loss of control / powerlessness, and loss of loved ones. what would they be infamous for ? headcanon wise, ren is the last surviving heir of the lie family, who were known for being ruthless, meticulous, intelligent, and cunning, but since ren was disconnected from the family when their parents eloped, it’s difficult to make the connection. what would they have gotten arrested for ? as of volume six, participating in stealing an atlesian air ship. ren did commit a series of petty crimes when they were growing up in the mistral underground with nora, including things like stealing, carrying suspicious substances ( as a courier service ), and conning ( which included things like using ren’s empathy semblance for reading poker matches, telling fortunes, and manipulating emotions intentionally as a form of hallucinogen ( ren hated this one most of all, but it did fetch them a lot of money. )) but, since ren and nora were children if they were ever caught they were let off easy, and by the time they were in their mid teens, they could fight well enough to collect grimm bounties.  character you ship them with: for canon, jaune. i also like renorarc. all other ships are fair game. i have ships that are primarily just because of one person, like with yang for zero, mercury for rice, weiss for latte, but i don’t necessarily root for them without the added support of that partner. character most likely to murder them: ren’s a very lowkey target for any of the major villains, so i’m gonna put ‘no one’ here. favourite book genre: non-fiction, historical, biology + science texts, poetry anecdotes, some sci-fi novels. least favourite book cliché: love at first sight. talents + powers: ( talents ) dancing, cooking, calligraphy + ( powers ) martial arts, free running, weapon wielding, and emotional manipulation semblance. why someone might love them: i’m gonna be honest and say that i picked up ren after volume two primarily because he was almost a blank canvas. a really fuckin’ beautiful blank canvas, with a lot of potential, but still a blank canvas. i didn’t necessarily love them when i picked them up, and i’m not exactly sure what compelled me to write as them but god, i am so glad i did. so, if it was *me* listing off the reason why i like ren we would be here all day, but now that i’m thinking about it there aren’t ... a ton of reasons why someone might like ren on his own. there are superficial things ; his sarcastic, dry humour is amusing, he’s very pretty, he has a cool fighting style ( although it would be better if he could use aura attacks again thanks rt ) but i believe that most of ren’s appeal is in the relationships he’s making and in the way he’s learning to open up because of it. why someone might hate them: ok i’m gonna fuckin say it, but there are some aspects of ren that are just boring. i’m attributing that not to a lack of screen time but a lack of focus time, as well as a somewhat dwindled relevance to the plot. i’m not necessarily asking for more, but i’ve read gripes about volume four, and some of them i agree with ; ren’s backstory is boring. i see him falling into a similar vibe as volume one when ren was used as a tutorial character for aura attacks, except in this example, his backstory is a “case study” when it comes to the thousands of people who have lost their homes and loved ones to grimm, and most likely in a very very similar way too, considering it was covered by qrow in world of remnant. ren didn’t even get any character development in that volume, ren has never shown any consequential character flaws, and that would have been a prime time to show it. all the anger shown during the nuckelavee fight was circumstantial and one off, it didn’t necessarily change ren at all, it didn’t change his bonds with other characters at all. one could argue that the only point of change in his character was that he is now open to relying more on other people, but that’s the thing, ren has always been with nora so that’s not development. is anything volume four said more about their bonds with ruby and jaune, and reaffirmed everything we knew about nora and ren already. given the information we have now, ren is not special. when you look at the bare bones of nora and ren’s relevance they are only there to fill in the gaps of jaune and pyrrha’s team. this will probably change in the future, because i can’t possibly see how rt can make their roles smaller given that they’re in the main troupe. ren’s importance, story wise, is in his bonds. his intelligence + spiritual beliefs + observation skills + saboteur capabilities + level of semblance usefulness + the fact that ren’s dialogue in the last two volumes have been somewhat narrator-esque has been upping his level of importance ( and ! more ! crucially !! his differentiation from nora as a unit ! i cannot stress this enough but ren and nora’s tether to each other in earlier volumes prevented them from interacting one on one with other characters on screen ( ESPECIALLY PYRRHA ) ) but the change has been subtle, and most definitely not a main focus. i see that someone could hate / be indifferent to ren primarily because there just isn’t enough to love. the only gripe that i have ever seen about ren before is his apparent uselessness in battle ( which is why i’m so happy about their saboteur role in the sixth volume’s last fight. ) how they change: oh fuck, okay, so in that last point i did say that canon ren’s only major point of character development is learning to open up and possibly rely on other people across all six volumes, other than that i’ve got zilch. i’ve put some significant development into my ren and also increased the intensity of ren’s isolation and the repercussions of their semblance to make development a little easier for me to accomplish when it comes to developing bonds, but i don’t think i could encompass what my ren needed to go through prior to beacon without making this post a whole book.

JoJolion’s main villain? Will it be female?
Okay, so whenever I find a discussion about JJL main villain, who will it be? And with the thirst from fans who wanted the first female main villain in JJBA, a popular theory emerged that Higashikata Caato would become the main villain. Yeah, so far… she is really popular, lots of hints point towards her, I can see some reasons of why:
Her motivation, she is currently in conflict with her ex-husband, Norisuke IV. Their conflicting views of how they have to sacrifice to save their son from the curse. Her sacrifice made her imprisoned for 15 years and separated from her children (how sad when her three children did not know her as their mother). Now, she returns and demands a payback.
Her persumably dominance over her son, Jobin. Jobin who previously was hyped as potential main villain is now overshadowed by his mother. Especially, it was pretty much confirmed that Jobin isn't the mastermind by Dolomite and Rai. “Jobin sweetie, remember that I went to jail to protect you, to save you, all for your sake. Imagine she says, ”I can see that Jobin must feel very indebted and grateful to her, that’s why he looks very respectful to her.
Her first impression of Gappy!Josuke was that she doesn't like him, regards him as freeloader (a potential enemy?)
Her Stand being a space-manipulating related type, often being regarded in the same boat with D4C (though I see that it’s more similar to Enigma currently).
Despite being 52 and a granny, she looks attractive for no reason, Araki’s habit of creating his main villains. Look how he changed fat!Valentine into the hot 48 years old president. Caato could be the antithesis of Lisa Lisa. Both are hot milfs in 50s and supportive to their sons, only the side is reversed.
Advanced points:
Norisuke IV he is one of the people closest to Josuke but the one who is likely most despised by Caato. I can see the potential conflict between Josuke and Caato or even her conflict with her other children.
The race to obtain Locacaca fruit, Caato’s side (Tsurugi, Jobin and Mitsuba) are fighting to cure Tsurugi. Josuke is fighting to restore himself to normal and save Holy.
Now, enter my personal opinion...
Actually, I like Caato as villain, or even major villain. But to be honest, though I also crave for the first female main villain, I don’t really like the concept of Caato as the one. Reasons:
Her conflict/motivation is too domestic, a household disputes; an ex-wife who wants to take revenge on and punish her ex-husband for the sacrifice and misery that she have to endured and demands payback (she openly asked for half of the household fortune). Basically, she wants to take back what's rightfully hers,  probably dethrone the patriarch to dominate the family business and fortune. This sounds like a plot taken out from Korean/telenovela family drama (with revenge as its main theme) only that it involves Stand battle, could be good for side plot but not for main plot. I wish the Rokakaka fruit, Rock humans, scientist and the curse will be a greater focus than this family drama bullsh*t.
Her background itself is too ordinary, a former housewife with no visible past career or other interesting things, unless she had other past background that is still hidden, maybe a past career that hasn't been revealed yet, ala Izumi Curtis. Though she could be a counterpart for part 4 main villain, being ordinary salary man.
Her flashback and motivation in the past, in my opinion, is too sympathetic (something that Araki claimed to avoid whenever he writes a main villain). To save her son from her curse, rather than sacrificing her life, she preferred to sacrifice the life of other (stranger). To be honest, I prefer her method than Norisuke IV, therefore Jobin (and her other children) do not need to lose a mother figure (which ironically happened). This is a husband’s common mistake; assuming that his wife is not different with his mother, hoping that his wife will do the same thing with what his mother has done. Basically, a mom who did sacrificing her own contented life for the sake of her child, imprisoned for 15 years away from her children, she had just been released and is still reorganizing her life. Unlike other JoJo main villains, in which their trouble pasts had become a past completely (that happened years ago) as their current life in the present storyline is much better but Caato still had to face her ex-husband who seemed to abandon her and had to try re-bond her relationship with her children again (idk why but her story kinda reminds me of Cookie Lyon from Empire). She just barely regains her life back.
Her personality that is too obvious for a villain. Being very two-faced and deceptive, showing her true calculating personality to those she deeply trusts yet truly capable of however seems to intimidate and inspire fear, but in public, she comes off as charismatic and loving person. It’s like “Oh looks… she is evil… she must be the main villain!!” I mean, just as she first appeared (which is not long ago), she already acted menacing, intimidating and declaring her objectives. Whereas JJBA main villains in general were acting pretty casual.
Most likely, Araki did the Principal and The Pauper to Norisuke IV’s character. From the fun & loving dad and a supportive father figure for Josuke to be an asshole husband who is disregarding his wife for the sacrifice she had made and even refused to pay her alimony. Now I am confused whether I should cheer for Norisuke IV (Josuke’s side) or Caato. This will potentially rival my disappointment over Xiao Fan ruining Zhao Yun and Xiao Meng’s dynamic. >:(
She doesn’t have any moment that can be mocked over and meme’d. Also, all of her appearance so far is like a boss. If she constantly stays like this till the end, I’m afraid that she would potentially ruin the funny dynamic between The Main Villains gang in fandom!!!
I don’t need another mom archetype in JJBA main villains gang, we already have Kira as the mom.
Her determination to live free from the men (read: husband)’s control and decision yet seems to be in control of her son (and possibly grandson) makes her sound like feminazi. I hope I’m wrong though, hopefully Araki doesn’t write her to be main villain only to fulfill the quota (due to the lack of female main villains) or as political correctness. I just want my first female main villain to be just a character of her own without being the feminist advertisement (though that’s what you likely will get from a character with just housewife as background). I have faith in Araki though because in my opinion he was quite successful as he wrote Jolyne, she is very likeable for the only female JoJo as she is simply being who she is without promoting feminism.
A mother controlling her children (in this case, Jobin). Though this is personal, I’m never into this kind of villain. I think it is very cheap, there is a teach that children must respect their mother who had nurtured and raised them and one mom decided to take this as an advantage to control her children. Most likely, Caato could be the main cause of Jobin's authoritarian attitude to his son, Tsurugi.
Mom: “Okay son, remember that I had carried you in my womb and suffer for 9 months for it, I had painful labor to bear you, I had taken care of you when you were a helpless baby, teaching you everything and saved your life from the curse, even saved you from your crime, by letting myself go to jail and lost my 15 years of life… all because I love you. Now, do me a favor and never question it!” Son: “No, sorry mom.” Mom: “(How dare you!) Why not?” Son: “Because I never ask to be born (especially by you).” (I don’t think Jobin would ever say that, probably Joshu).
So, if Caato turns out to be the main villain, she could be my least favorite main villain despite I am being a female myself. Though it's still too early to judge, there is still a hope that she will deliver something more interesting than those 5 points above. One of them is the theory and possibility that she is the mysterious head doctor or the Rock human’s leader.
My other personal wish is that Holy Kira is the actual main villain. This is purely crack theory and something that is even less likely than Caato, but I think Holy Kira will deliver something more interesting than Caato:
Her more interesting background as an Ophthalmologist, emergency doctor, and guest professor. A woman, a mother and A PROFESSOR!!!
Her more direct connection with Rokakaka fruit, it is revealed that Holy created the hidden Rokakaka lab at T.G University Hospital, she was researching the fruit! Therefore, A SCIENTIST!!! There is a possibility that she was part of the Rokakaka Research Organization (though probably she just did the research independently).
She is a direct descendant of Johnny Joestar, therefore… a Joestar! Imagine being a Joestar and a main villain at the same time!! Okay, despite being a Joestar, Holy is not a JoJo. But this will be hilariously the greatest irony ever, a main villain is descended from a JoJo.
Her, tricking Josuke, the main protagonist (who is also part of her son) to cure her is something far more brilliant than a mom straightly controlling her son through intimidation. Perhaps her illness is part of her master plan (“計画通り/keikaku doori!!”ala Light Yagami or Aizen), it’ll be a greater troll than Joseph trolling Jotaro as reincarnated DIO XD.
Holy Kira might be the antithesis of Holy Kujo, the purest and most loving milf ever in JJBA to be the worst and ambitious mom.
Holy Kira might fit the theme of the villain being the opposite of the protagonist, what is the opposite between Josuke and Holy? One being the guy stitched together from two other guys and one being a woman who has a lot of missing parts (in this case, her brain).
She already had her possibly funny/crazy moment when she was trying to use a nurse like a pair of boots and a magazine XD.
Personally, I think that Holy has better design than Caato. While Caato looks like the older version of Jolyne, her messy appearance looks like a middle-aged woman who couldn’t let go her teenage years (that’s why she can’t beat Lisa Lisa as a hot milf in 50s imo, her appearance is tidier and more elegant). Look at Holy Kira, she is trendy and the dark cape looks fabulous for a villain’s design.
Holy may possess a more interesting Stand, I’m sure she is a Stand user if she can see Paisley Park and knows about Killer Queen. Please, Araki… show me what her Stand is capable of!!
If Caato stays the same until the end of the story, she will be the most deviated villain in JJBA history besides being female, Araki might breaks the pattern with her. But isn’t using Holy Kira as main villain would be a greater pattern breakers??
Besides Holy Kira, I found another crack yet brilliant theory of Yasuho being actual main villain without her realizing it, played it like an alter ego ala Doppio. Disclaimer, it is not written by me. While this is very interesting (and I support this theory tbh), this could be another case of The Principal and The Pauper in Yasuho’s character.
Hopefully, Caato is just a red herring for the actual main villain (as she is too… obviousss), but the possibility of Holy as the main villain is even smaller. That’s why I keep my expectation of evil!Holy so low, she could be just a straight SBR counterpart for Holy Kujo (the purest mom in critical condition that needs to be cured asap) with slightly bigger role, nothing more. Perhaps, the main villain could even be neither Caato nor Holy.
Now, let’s countdown the villains we had so far and how Caato or Holy will fill it up:
A vampire (and an ex-lawyer student)
A Pillar Man, boss of his own kind
A vampire… again (at least he is hundred years old now)
A salary man and serial killer
A mafia boss
A priest (and the vampire’s lover best friend)
A president of alt!US
A former housewife and former inmate / A mad scientist and a Joestar / A Rock human and head doctor (another mad scientist), assuming the third possibility of main villain is a guy / The main villain is a concept (not a person), the Locacaca fruit itself (I love this one tbh)
Pick your choice!!
Summary: I welcome Caato as villain, even as major villain. She is the first female villain who has her own motivation without being a mere pawn for the main villain. She deserves a big role, but not the biggest role. Gappy!Josuke deserves a greater villain to fight than a greedy and vengeful milf who is wronged (by her husband) in the past, someone who hasn't even reached the top (and her own happiness). The mystery of Locacaca’s fruit, the origin of the Higashikata’s curse;the rock disease, what’s up with the Rock humans and the Wall Eyes should be prioritized over the game of throne inheritance fight drama of the Higashikata family’s property and power. To be honest, I still prefer the main villain to be a man… again rather than Caato (even if it is Jobin).
TL;DR Caato will still be my most favorite female villain but potentially becomes my least favorite main villain in JJBA.

Thoughts: SILVIA MORENO-GARCIA’s “The Beautiful Ones”
Tumblr media
When Hector comes back into Valerie’s life, he had hoped their love could endure anything and they could easily make up for lost time. Sadly, that is not the case as Valerie is now married, forced to move on with her life and Hector has met Valerie’s younger cousin by marriage, Nina. Nina may be young, but she and Hector have something in common, they are both gifted magicians with telekinetic powers, and with Hector’s guidance, Nina’s gifts begin to blossom and so does her love for Hector. Nina doesn’t realize what secrets Hector and Valerie still hold and the tale becomes a twisted and vindictive love triangle. Will true love prevail all? I did the audiobook version (read by the gorgeous Imani Jade Powers) and at times it felt like listening to a dramatic telenovela which was a lot of fun. AND, any sort of detrimental romance spiced with a little magic is always a good thing.
Silvia Moreno-Garcia has several great releases out there including Mexican Gothic which is one of my favorites, but the synopsis of the book alluded to a Historical romance with magical components in the story and the magic took such a second tier to all the drama that you almost forgot 2 of the 3 main characters had abilities at all. The story feels more Victorian in nature but has subtle Asian influences. I enjoyed the female villain aspect, the scorned woman you want to hate but you end up relating to. Valerie was forced to make choices at a young age and had to suffer the consequences later in life, losing everything she held dear. Can you blame her for wanting to hold on to it as long as possible? At any cost? But, while this was a fun read, the book had a slower start for me, possibly because I was looking for more magic! I wouldn’t say pass this up by any means, but I would certainly pick up her others first before reading this one.

Do you think that what Rose has to tell to Raf is that Michael is still alive?
I mean, listen, this *is* a telenovela so they can bring back the dead. I personally am having a hard time visualizing it, though. Because there was a burial and a funeral and all so I’m like uh how?? But then again, logic in this case is not the biggest hurdle. I personally don’t think they should bring back Michael. It’s an unnecessary storyline. Because, here’s the thing, this would go one of two ways: Michael is actually a villain, or Michael has lost his memories. In either case, I think it would be a cop out and would undermine Michael’s relationship with Jane. If he’s a villain, then it would paint all of his memories with Jane with that brush and kind of ruin its effect and value. Which is just plain unfair and a rather lazy way to prop up Jafael (re: why I hated their undermining Raf to prop up Mike in s2, same idea. No need to put something down to make another shine). If he’s lost his memories, even if he eventually gets them back, I don’t see him and Jane getting back together. I genuinely believe that Jafael is end game, I can’t see it any other way. I mean the narrator did say they’re the main couple. And if this whole thing of bringing him back and giving him his memories back just so that Jane would choose Raf this time? IDK, that seems a little lazy for me, too. There are more interesting ways to underline Jafael’s continuous commitment to each other without having to recreat the triangle situation. So, I really hope this has nothing to do with Michael and that he just stays dead. There has to be more interesting stuff they can do.

Casual Black Hatcannons
The people have decided. The list is long (so it’s under the read more.) Happy 324 <3
Prior to arriving on Earth, Black Hat didn’t need sleep. He can still go much longer than a normal human without rest, but his mood can become fouler and fouler without the occasional break from having to do so much stuff/be around other annoying people
He’s able to have dreams (even though they’re often weird and narcissistic), and will sometimes spend time sleeping just to see if his subconscious can generate any ideas for new inventions to sell
Honestly as long as he gets some time to just sit down and not have to do anything (or even keep up his normal physical form) he’s basically asleep. For eldritch abominations like himself, it basically means letting his consciousness wander freely as he shuts down any physical functions. His form tends to get a little... less human-ish looser, when this happens
Black Hat doesn’t brush his teeth. (or floss.) First of all, his body is self-cleansing, so he normally doesn’t have to worry about showering and hygiene in general. Particles of dirt and blood and other toxins are normally absorbed through his clothes and skin, and then broken down inside his body.
Not to mention he has semi-acidic saliva. It’s not extremely corrosive, but it works well enough to keep his mouth clean between meals.
That being said, he’s lost teeth before. Chipped them, broken them, misplaced them– It’s fine though. he has teeth like a shark. literally, there are so many of them holy shit. They grow in rows and the new ones can replace the old ones very quickly.
When he transitioned from existing in a multidimensional plane to a less-multidimensional one, he never really realized that human bodies and clothes were two separate things. When he first designed his physical shape, he made his suit out of, well, the same material as himself. The clothes are just as sentient and sensory as the rest of him, and if someone touched his coat he’d turn around and be like “what.” It’s like having really snazzy looking skin that doesn’t have to be fully attached to your body and can also start growing eyes and teeth whenever you’re mad.
He never really got a full course in human anatomy, but it’s close enough, he thinks..? it’s just missing like all the organs. and a soul.
As a consequence of not knowing what the fuck a human is, BH also doesn’t know what the fuck gender is. He just sees humans, and humans are fucking morons so honestly who cares what they call themselves. it’s just easier to go with whatever pronouns they say than actually try to guess their genders (congrats BH on not being transphobic)
The old flash shorts (pilot version) of Black Hat was actually BH’s first attempt at making a human form. He later reshaped himself to “be more edgy”: becoming taller, narrowing his face, changing the design on his hat, etc.
After a hard day’s work, Black Hat can sometimes be so lazy that he wears his coat (and hat) to bed. Won’t even take off his shoes. Nasty. (Ofc he has his edgy villain pajamas he could change into but, eh. too much time.)
He can still take his clothes off, but they’ll eventually dissipate if separated from him long enough. It’s easier for him to just change the appearance of whatever his clothes (skin) currently looks like. He can still feel sensations through them, but it becomes harder to categorize them as “good” or “bad” the further away from his nerves they get
BH used to eat food like an amoeba. (He normally eats as a way to regain mass if he’s injured or needs to shapeshift.) But when encountering “prey”, his physical form kind of turns to a fleshy goop of teeth and eyes and blades that encircle whatever food it is; then he reforms. He only stopped eating like that bc it wasn’t classy enough. Utensils and etiquette are crucial for fancy villains- only dinner parties
BH likes to stay unnaturally light though. more mass makes him slow and he doesn’t like it when people are faster than him. He can also rapidly change the density of the particles in his body, mostly for fighting. It’s hilarious to see a hero break their hand trying to punch you.
BH’s body temperature depends on the environment he’s in. In the summer, he absorbs light really easily and is therefore around 90 (it’s the closest he can naturally get to human-temperatured without purposely changing it), while in the winter, he can be 30 or 45 degrees. Normally he will be 70 degrees (around room-temp), which still means his body is unnaturally cool. He can modify that as well though, and can decide if he wants to basically be a walking black ice cube or the temperature of hell’s oven. BH can’t feel temperature though, so it doesn’t really matter to him.
Those claws on his hands are a fucking pain. He can’t use a smartphone bc he doesn’t have fingerprints and his skin can’t conduct electricity. So he uses a fucking Nokia flip phone or a Blackberry, anything with buttons he can actually press
then again he sucks at technology in general, he knows more about gramophones than iPhones. Flug has been teaching him, but it’s a ...work in progress….. (”FLUG I BROKE IT AGAIN.” “Boss you shouldn’t play Flappy Bird if you have claws that can pierce through phones....”)
His hands are kind of like cat paws, the claws will normally slip out if he’s angry (99% of the time) or if he’s actually relaxed enough to just let them go (1%– you may now picture BH kneading a blanket and accidentally fucking eviscerating it)
His toes are just like his fingers, but he can’t afford to let them slip out. Otherwise he’ll pierce through his shoes and then it’s a pain to get them unstuck; he hates it.
(He let Dementia paint his nails ONCE (it was her birthday) and still hasn’t taken it off tbh. Ofc he can never tell her that.)
Once he caught Flug watching “How It’s Made” and he was about to go on one of his angry lectures again. but then he got distracted bc “wait, THAT’S HOW THEY MAKE FILIGREE GLASS?”
BH actually sits down next to Flug on the couch and they just silently watch it together. “How… how the hell do they get that all the same diameter?” “It’s really incredible, boss.” “They just, change the shape like that?? What the fuck???”
BH doesn’t speak of it again. Flug forgets about it until he walks into his office to deliver a report and hears something about “now they set the haggis out on cooking trays, and pierce each casing so–”
Black Hat thROWS HIS COMPUTER OUT THE WINDOW. TRYING TO ACT CHILL.
“Boss were you watching–” “AH YES FLUG HELLO WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU.” “Boss, it’s okay. I mean, the haggis episode is disgusting, but i really don’t care. here’s the report... Should I buy a new computer?” “……..yes.”
when he’s not watching How It’s Made he watches cheesy telenovelas WHAT
Don’t you dare fucking tell me these guys dont all watch telenovelas together on the couch with a fuckload of snacks as they all eagerly await the next moment BH loses his shit
“JUAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HOW COULD YOU BETRAY MARIA LIKE THAT?!?! That man is the most evil character i’ve ever seen, take notes 5.0.5″ “Boss... you’re crying” “WHAT NO I’M NOT HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT WHAT THE FUCK”
BH’s favorite genre of music is classical (you know. like a nerd.) Apart from that, he’s also tried listening to screamo and death metal. While he enjoys screaming in general, he’s not really a fan of the genre, but he can appreciate the effort
in his spare time he probably sips at a glass of wine and reads his fucking quarterly profit reports in a comfy chair by the extremely scary-looking fireplace haha. He likes the sound of thunderstorms as well, mostly bc of the villain aesthetic he’s gotta keep.
Speaking of the villain aesthetic, he used to have a cat. A nice, fluffy white one that he could have sit on his lap while he sat in his desk chair facing the window, just so he could do the thing where he turns around like the most cliche villain ever
unfortunately, he can’t keep that act up for more than a week. by then the cat really looks like it’s living up to the name “Appetizer” and, well. you can tell what happens next. (5.0.5 cries, that’s what. BH coughs up white fur later.)
BH’s room is, like the entire house, very edgy. he has a massive 4-poster canopy bed, various sculptures and paintings of himself, and an enormous walk-in closet. Why does he have a closet if his clothes are part of his body, you ask?
The only reason his room looks so clean is because he hides all his personal belongings in the closet. Confiscated materials? Closet. Assorted skeletons? Closet. His secret collection of scented candles? Closet.
The girl scout cookie hoard goes under his bed. there’s also always a pentagram or two on the floor, some with notes saying “5.0.5 DO NOT ERASE”
One of the huge marble busts of himself has a keypad hidden under the hat, with a code needed to open his vault. but that’s only one half of the key; he also needs to perform a small ritual in his demonic circle to fully unlock the vault and disable the alarms on it. then he can enter the secret room where he stores all his money
(Sometimes he’ll just go inside it and roll around in his piles of cash for fun. it’s very therapeutic)
all those pictures of himself BH either had commissioned or gotten as gifts. I’d say he painted the all himself, but he’s not patient enough to actually spend time getting better at art. instead he just hires artists to make his vain af portraits.
He can also see through any reproduction of himself, including sculptures, shitty post-it note drawings, and yes, fan art. (So don’t call your fanart bad, or else BH will be offended you called him ugly!! he doesn’t care what it looks like, he’s vain enough to accept any art of himself no matter what it is haha)
Once Flug got him a metal paperweight as a gift. Jokingly, he told BH it was a stress ball.
BH fucking crushes it in one hand
(“Huh, some stress ball.” “B-boss that was made out of tungsten!!” “So? You said it was a stress ball!” “That’s stronger than steel!….Boss are you okay”)
Black Hat actually suffers some pretty bad migraines. he’s not supposed to exist in such a “low-res” plane of reality. Most of his kind exist in at least five dimensions, and it’s kind of hard to have made the switch over without losing some of his power. Shunting your consciousness between planes is kind of painful, and BH frequently receives physical reminders that he really should not have done that.
The migraines are painful and make BH crabby for the rest of the day; "dimension sickness" is awful for his mood. Flug has been trying to work on a cure to help him, but it's hard when the only materials you can work with are eldritch blood, flesh samples, and any liquid void goop BH coughs up.
Black Hat actually would work with a hero, only if it was to stop a villain that was a greater danger to his company. He’ll go against his Villainous principles to keep his business secure from any outside threat. Anyone targeting his corporation and friends employees is an enemy, and enemies will be destroyed.
BH has no idea how to: change lightbulbs, replace smoke detector batteries, use a microwave, or clean literally anything. (In that sense, 5.0.5 is more competent than him.)
Surprisingly, Black Hat actually files tax reports for his company. He believes that despite being a governmental institution, the IRS is "the most evil organization to ever exist" and appreciates how much pain it inflicts upon people each year.
Black Hat is a master of paperwork and legal documents. He could have probably been more successful as a lawyer than an arms dealer tbh. Suing people copying his patents is actually a breeze for him, and he doesn't pull any fucking punches when it comes to penalties for reselling his property
This also explains why he hasn’t been arrested yet. Can’t prove that his corporation isn’t just a hat factory when all the evidence, tax reports, and products lean towards that conclusion
BH can't cook for shit. That doesn't mean he can't enjoy human food though (even if he doesn't need it). Some of his favorite meals are humans, raw meat, rare steak (only when 5.0.5 cooks), black caviar, black truffles, black food in general, live mammals, that one cake Flug bakes sometimes, any red wine that actually tastes good, souls, foie gras, expensive food, candy (when taken from babies), ice cream (when taken from 5.0.5), and anything that really fits his dark aesthetic.
Black Hat doesn't really have a birthday. But that doesn't stop Dementia, 5.0.5, and Flug from celebrating. They use BH’s “entering the human world” anniversary as his birthday, and celebrate despite all BH's protests to not  (he secretly enjoys it, the vain bastard.
Flug normally works on an invention for him in his free time, little things that he thinks BH would find useful in his daily life. Like filing cabinets with auto-organizational systems, a voicemail system that can better filter out his calls, ballpoint pens that can write in blood. Stuff like that
Dementia makes coupon books. Things like "one free 'go away'” or “Shut up and be quiet for five minutes” or “stop destroying things for an hour.” BH always runs out of these within the month.
5.0.5 gets him cute things like mugs that say "world's best boss" and ties with nice patterns on them. BH throws a hissy fit about them, but it doesn’t stop him from wearing them
And finally, at the end of the day, even though his life is full of chaos and disasters, BH really doesn’t regret leaving his original plane of reality for this one. It’s weird and painful and he’s surrounded by annoying people, but he’d do it all again if he had to......... foR THE MONEY, OF COURSE. YEAH. BECAUSE HE’S A VILLAIN. GOTTA SELL THOSE DEVICES AND ELIMINATE HEROES RIGHT. YUP. THAT’S IT, THAT’S WHY HE STICKS AROUND WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’S BC OF HIS FRI-- EMPLOYEES, WHAT? fucking wild
