Do you like tid secondary couples? And if so who is your favourite?

As someone who has read TID all the way through nearly ten times now, I’m pretty solid on all my opinions regarding secondary ships in the series. I’ll go through the following:

Henry X Charlotte

Gideon X Sophie

Gabriel X Cecily

Jessamine X Nate… lol jk

To answer your first question generally, YES, I do love and adore all three of the secondary couples, though I’ll go more in-depth just for fun.

To start with… Henry and Charlotte! Alright, these two are EXTREMELY adorable and I love them with all my being. I’ll answer your second question now: these two have to be my favorite secondary TID ship. Their arc together is so wholesome, going from unsure if the other loves them, to realizing that they do indeed love each other and have always loved each other, to working through a pregnancy… my gosh, I could gush about these two for hours. Though Henry and Charlotte are well-loved by the fandom for how genuine and wholesome their connection is, I do think their relationship arc is extremely underrated and dismissed. The “marriage of convenience” trope suddenly turning around and having been about love the entire time not only makes them an amazing couple in literature but also connects to the TID theme of hidden love. Love these two ❤️

Next, I’ll talk about Gideon and Sophie. I’ll be honest, I can’t rant much about these two. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE them and their relationship, but there isn’t much to talk about. They’re amazingly wonderful together, and their little side plot of Sophie being a servant and Gideon being a shadowhunter was intriguing, and I remember wondering what would happen between them when I first read TID six years ago. The scone scene is nothing short of iconic, and the love between them is genuinely beautiful. These two are simple but great!

Then there’s Gabriel and Cecily! I’m going to be honest, the first few times I read TID, I was a bit weirded out by this pairing. I couldn’t quite understand the reasoning behind Cassie matching them up besides a convenient “everyone falls in love with everyone at the end” trope that TID seems to have. The fact that he was 18 when she was 15 also creeped me out, and it wasn’t like I was that fond of Gabriel as a character in the first place. But I believe as I started growing older, and especially after I read TLH for the first time, I could find something to love about these two. Their interactions are quite silly and entertaining in Clockwork Princess, and Gabriel as a character has really warmed up to me, too, which subsequently helped this couple warm up to me. I think the hilarious impossibility of these two being together is what makes me appreciate them the most, more than anything- I mean, who would have thought Gabriel would end up marrying Will’s sister… after Will constantly taunted Gabriel about Tatiana? I think it’s funny as hell.

I'm so sad for Kit death for what it meant to Gabriel specially as he was the one that looked like him, and probably Tatiana Im sad for Gabriel in this book, Tatiana hated him more than Gideon given that it was Gabriel who killed their father and killing Christopher she gets back at him, and also with a knife that is Cecily weapon of choice. I am sad too because while they grieve Kit they will have to take care of Alexander who probably is traumatised after the torture Tatiana make him suffer

NO EXACTLY BC HOW ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE THE ICONIC TID LIGHTWOOD BROTHERS NOT EVEN HAVE AN INTERACTION WITH TATIANA, JESSE OR GRACE AND NOT EVEN GIVE THEM LINES ABOUT THE SITUATION AND NOT EVEN GIVE ONE OF THEM ANY LINES AT ALL WHEN THEY'RE LITERALLY THE MOST DEEPLY TIED INTO THIS WHOLE CONFLICT??

Gosh. We really should have gotten a scene from Gabriel's POV about the whole thing.

Imagine just. Even a scene where they don't talk (bc we know how Cassie hates giving them lines) and they're just holding Alexander and sitting by the fire, wrapped around each other, silently grieving.

Thanks to this recent post I've been thinking about how I'd like Drag Race in Mexico to go down, and I don't have everything figured out but I've made some decisions:

**The Host**

I'd love for Paris Bang Bang to host because I think she's a great mirror of RuPaul, as in a lot of queens know her and respect her, she's iconic, she's been fighting for drag to be taken seriously and has been creating opportunities for drag queens.

If it has to be a Ru-girl I think they'll definitely choose Valentina to bring in the numbers (although I'd love to see Denali, Lolita or Crystal even more), if that's the case I want and need a local queen (Paris) to be her Michelle Visage.

**The Judges**

Whether this are guest judges or just special guests I don't care, I just want to see this people make an appearance:

**The Challenges/Runways**

We need a Telenovela challenge for sure. Also a mexican pink runway. A morning show parody challenge. A Diva challenge (Dulce, Rocío, Daniela, Marisela, etc). A News tv show challenge. 100 Mexicanos Dijeron which is our Family Feud. A typical regional folklore costume runway. Catrinas runway. Legends runway or challenge were they have to create their own mexican legend. A recycling challenge were they have to create an outfit with cardboard and plastic bottles. We can have our own sugar ball, we have tons of traditional mexican candy. Mayan and Aztec culture/heritage inspired runways would be cool and nice to see. A runway inspired on natuve animals like the axolotl and coati. An "if the states were outfits runway", this is different from the typical regional costume but I don't know how to explain it. A viceroyalty runway. A Quinceañera runway... the options are endless. Everything La Mas Draga has wonderfully done already and MORE.

Really hoping for a Molly Weasley like scene in TLH where Sophie or Cecily punch Tatiana hard in the face for scheming to murder their husbands and children (not only scheming coz Barbara even died because Tatiana requested!)

Gabriel and Gideon are too gentleman to hit a woman (as they should be!) but their wives and daughters surely could do it

In this case, I hope it's Sophie using her iconic handmirror bc of Barbara death and Thomas kidnapping (Cassie said Thomas would be kidnaped, so it's not a spoiler).

Sophie: So you really thought you could harm my children and get away with it!?

1960′s Bond films ranked

,1960′s was the era of Bond mania ,and it was the decade with the most movies ,with 7 movies(Second to it is the 80′s with 6 movies ,then the 70′s with 5 ,90′s and 2000′s both only had 3 each ,and 2010′s only had 2 ) ,and since the 60′s is the most classic era of Bond ,I decided to rank the 60′s Bond films

7.Casino Royale(1967)

Yup I am counting the unofficial movies too and this is the only film on the list I would say is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.This is a crappy movie,pure insanity with no clear vision and it commits the biggest sin of a comedy :ITS NOT FUNNY .....Woody Allan as a Bond Villain is a funny joke though

6.Thunderball(1965)

Only Bond film in which I have read the book.It’s an OK book ,love some of the characters but it was just fine .....But I like it better then the movie .This is a boring movie to me ,Largo is only remembered fondly cause he has an eyepatch as he is a lame villain ,Domino is a lot less interesting then her book counterpart ,there is a cringeworthy scene with Bond blackmailing a physiotherapist into sleeping with him ,there is a random character who is important to the plot but the film doesnt treat him this way ,the Q scene feels less playful and more meanspirited and underwater battles sound cool in theory ,but are dull in practice .That said I do like aspects ,Connery is good ,I like the SPECTRE scene (Love Shadowy Blofeld ) ,the pre title action scene is great (Complete with ACTUAL WORKING REAL JETPACK ),The theme song performed by Tom Jones is AMAZING ,and I do love the films main henchwoman Fiona Volpe ,she is such an awesome baddie I wish she was the MAIN villain .I know it’s considered a classic but I just cant get into it

5.You Only Live Twice (1967)

THis one I am .....Mixed about . I think it’s directed well ,there are some cool camera movements,the Little Nellie gyrocoptor is awesome ,the fight scene against the driver (Played by Peter Maiva ,the grandfather of Dwayne “The Rock “ Johnson ,which is awesome ) is pretty badass , The Volcano Lair is SPECTACULAR (PRobabbly the best villain lair in the series ) ,Tiger Tanaka is a likable ally ,Aki is a great Bond Girl,Nancy Sinatras theme song is good ,it’s cool seeing a snapshot of 1960′s Japan ,the final battle is epic ,and Donald Pleasence is FANTASTIC as Blofeld ,bringing such a creepiness to a character who has been built up for 5 movies .....But what holds it back for me is Connery looks so damn bored throughout the entire movie ,the plot I dont really care about ,Helga is just a rehash of Fiona and not even in a interesting way ,KArl is such a boring henchman ,Aki is killed off just to be replaced by Kissy who is less interesting and I dont know why they didnt just have one Bond girl ,DOnald Pleasence is barely in the movie ,and then you have Bond going undercover as a Japanese man......Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah.This is just such a mixed bag of a movie for me

4.Dr No (1962)

Now lets get to the good ones.This is a lowkey Bond adventure(As they couldnt afford to do one of the bigger stories ) ,and I imagine that can be jarring for someused to the high octane globe trotting adventures of the other films,and I have seen some calll it Vanilla .....And I kind of like the simpler vibe of this film .Connery comes out the gate swinging ,he is suave and with moments of brutality.Both the Bond girl and villain arent in the film long but Ursula Andress is memorable as Honey Ryder and Joseph Wiseman as Dr No while only getting really one scene to show off has a cold detached delivery to his lines that makes him extremely eerie (Would’ve preferred a Chinese actor and am distressed none were even considered but thats the 60′s for you ) .Anthony Dawson makes for a good secondary villain as Professor Dent ,Jack Lord is a cool Felix Leiter ,John Kitzmiller is great as Bonds ally Quarrel ,the film sets up Bonds dynamics with both Bernard Lee’s M and Lois Maxwell’s Miss Moneypenny ,both making strong first impressions ,the film is brutal with it’s action ,and overalll it’s a good introduction to the world of Bond

3.Goldfinger(1964)

The iconic Bond film .This film is fun ,plain and simple. It has flaws (Mainly there being a whole section of the plot involving gangsters that makes absolutely no sense and how Pussy Galore turns good is REALLLY cringeworthy) but I feel like the rest of the film is awesome .The villain Auric Goldfinger is one of the best (Easilly my second favorite in the series )ruthless and greedy but with an odd sense of charm ,I just love watching him .The films main henchman Oddjob is also awesome ,a super strong silent loyal thug who kills people with a toss of his killer bowler hat .Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore is fantastic ,easily one of the best Bond girls,and while I dont like how her arc is handled,I do like that she starts off as a baddie .The film is full of classic moments from Goldfinger and Bonds golf game ,the laser scene (And the classic exchange “You expect me to talk”*Chuckles*”No mr Bond ,I expect you to DIE!!”),the fight between Bond and Oddjob in Fort Knox (Which is a gorgeous set by Ken Adam ) and of course the iconic image of the dead woman painted gold .I also have just a personal fondness for this film as when I was a kid we had a whole bunch of Bond films on VHS (From Dr No to Live and Let Die ) and this was the one I watched the most

2.From Russia With Love (1963)

I flip flop on whether I like Goldfinger or From Russia With Love more ,and I think I prefer From Russia With Love ,for one simple reason :Goldfinger is a fun action romp .....From Russia With Love is a genuinely intriguing spy movie .It’s also cool cause it is a direct sequel to Dr No which is an anomaly in the classic Bond films. There isnt one villain in this film ,it’s an organization ,SPECTRE ,meaning we get a whole ensamble of villains (Including creepy evil genius Kronsteen and SPECTRES head thug Morzeny),but the stand outs are Red Grant played by Robert Shaw of Jaws fame, a sadistic assassin who is sort of Bonds dark mirror and Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb ,a former SMERSH agent now working for SPECTRE ,who is commanding in every scene .....EXCEPT fore when she is around the films true villain Blofeld,in those scenes she is TERRIFIED ,and thats a detail I love cause it adds to Blofeld mystique,that if he can scare KLEBB he is a force to be reckoned with .I also love that we dont actuallly SEE Blofeld beyond his hands stroking his cat ,and yet personality wise we get everything we need to know (That and his deep commanding voice which I LOVE ) .We also get Kerim Bey who is hands down the BEST Bond sidekick ,he is so lovable and charming,it’s hard not to like him.Connery is excellent as usual ,all the action is awesome including Bond evading a helicopter ,a climatic boat chase,an encounter with a deadly piece of footwear,and a absolutely brutal fight between Grant and Bond on the Orient Express .If I have one complaint I am not that fond of how the Bond Girl Tatiana is written but Daniela Bianchi does a good job .Overall this is a great movie

1.On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

This is my favorite Bond movie .It is at it’s core a love story and a damn good one .Diana Rigg steals this entire movie as Tracy ,she is the best Bond girl .Telly Savals is charming ,intelligent ,but also tough as hell as Blofeld ,he is my third favorite Bond villain and hands down my favorite Blofeld .I think the film contains one of the best evil plans (And surprisingly relevent over 50 years later ),Irma Bunt is a terrific henchwoman ,Gabriele Ferzetti is entertaining as Tracy’s criminal father Draco ,Louis Armstrongs We Have All The Time In The World is a terrific love song ,I love the setting of the Swiss Alps ,the film somehow makes a BOBSLED chase badass ,and the ending is unforgettable .Now the one common complaint people have is George Lazenby ,and while I agree he isnt great ......He is a good Bond ,and he hits the dramtic notes when he needs to .I adore this movie and reccomend it to non Bond fans even

Episode 4: Designer Complicity

SPOILERS AHEAD

0:15 - I feel like this is a false memory. Jessica is very dressed up to be hanging out in the basement. I don’t strike her as a woman who willingly went into the basement a lot. Seems out of character for her. I mean maybe she was looking for Malcolm when she didn’t find him in bed? But then I figure Martin would’ve stopped her.

0:36 - Yo. Gabrielle is underpaid. She’s trying to help Malcolm but Malcolm is a mess. He’s passively suicidal and desperate for answers. He. Needs. Help. He. Is. In. So. Much. Pain.

2:20 - awww. Is Gil one of those people who have no idea how technology works? Now I really want to read a fic about how Gil calls Malcolm/Dani/JT every time he can’t figure out how to work his phone/computer.

2:30 - That blue bath is kind of beautiful. In a very disturbing way.

2:41 - Does that mean JT was born and/or raised in Harlem?

2:55 - Gil putting his hand on JT’s shoulder is adorable. He really is Papa Gil to the whole team. Gil is the best.

3:00 - “If you’re lucky.” - Am I the only one who does not understand that joke? It makes absolutely no sense to me. But Malcolm’s facial reaction to it is cute.

3:32 - I find it mildly disturbing and very endearing that JT, our physically imposing man with a military background, knows sooo much about this fashion lady.

4:45 - Is this how social influencers really live? With a posse following them everywhere?! If it is - I’d rather be a poor nobody.

5:00 - If these people follow Axel everywhere - I presume they hung out with Tatiana, Axel’s girlfriend, too. Assuming that’s true, why is it that Axel is the only one who seems even remotely upset?

5:10 - What is Axel’s accent? It’s so bizarre.

5:48 - I see that Malcolm has boarded the manic train again. Thank God Gil is talking to him.

6:38 - I love this. Gil doesn’t want to give Malcolm the tapes. He doesn’t want Malcolm to suspect his mother of doing anything (legally) wrong. He’s acting like Jessica’s co-parent. Protecting her from her manic son’s desperate attempts to piece together his fragmented memories. Also - I love the “I’ll take you home” line. It’s said in a way that implies that this isn’t the first time Gil has taken Malcolm home when he’s getting too worked up about his past.

7:12 - Wow. This conversation is not going to go well in Malcolm’s current mental state.

8:10 - Malcolm. No. She loves you. She didn’t do anything wrong. Sweetheart just go to sleep. Stop interrogating your mother.

9:00 - Honestly - I would’ve hit him too. He crossed the line there. She shouldn’t hit her son but I won’t pretend that her actions weren’t justified.

9:45 - “I don’t need you to love me Malcolm. I just need you alive.” I feel like every parent has thought that at some point when they were disciplining their child.

10:25 - I hate this. I hate that Martin is acting like he’s being a good father. I hate that he’s playing with Malcolm’s psyche. This conversation is haunting. Malcolm’s eyes....he just looks broken. ALSO. Martin isn’t chained to the wall in this scene. Is he only chained to the wall when he has company?

12:20 - Dani’s gentle concern for Malcolm is heartwarming. She’s the friend he deserves.

13:22 - The way that Gil is looking at Malcolm here. It’s like Gil isn’t even listening to what Malcolm is saying. Gil is just looking at Malcolm with concern. It’s breaking my heart. Malcolm’s mental state is breaking my heart.

13:34 - “Is this a profile or an intervention for JT?” ICONIC. hahaha and JT’s facial expression reacting to that line. *chef’s kiss*

14:00 - “Or are we surfing the internet?” hahaha honestly I swear Gil feels like a total Dad half the time he’s at work.

14:05 - Why do I love JT in a T-shirt so much. It’s his arms. I don’t know why but I think they’re so nice. He has amazing arms. I can’t stop staring at them. There is something profoundly wrong with me.

14:12 - hahaha this look.The one JT is giving Bright when Bright takes his phone. Freaking hilarious. This whole interaction between Bright and JT is hilarious.

14:21 - Sure JT. You’re only going to keep an eye on him because he has your phone. It’s definitely not because you care about our shaky-handed lunatic.

15:15 - Again. I will ask. What branch of the military was JT in?!?

15:35 - It’s really sweet that, despite how much pain Malcolm is currently in, he still has the capacity to care about JT to the point that he puts his hand on JT’s shoulder.

16:10 - How stupid is this guy? He just ran straight into a pile of garbage?!? THE REST OF THE STREET IS COMPLETELY EMPTY.

16:33 - awww the boys are working together. I’m so disgustingly proud of them.

17:00 - Malcolm taking pictures of the paparazzi is so amazing. The social commentary is incredible. Also it looks like Malcolm is using an iPhone again.

18:33 - Again. I will ask. Is Malcolm talking to Roger or verbalizing an internal revelation about his current predicament with his Mom?

18:53 - Is that a France flag in Gil’s office? There are two flags. One is the US flag. The other looks like the France flag. My question is why.

20:00 - Gil deserves a medal. You can tell how restrained he is with Malcolm. Our boy is out of line this episode.

20:33 - She’s very rich. Why has she kept the same dress for 20 years? I thought rich people got new wardrobes every year or two.

21:20 - I feel like Martin and Jessica are talking about different things here. Even without the context that Jessica thought Martin was having an affair. I feel like they’re not on the same page.

23:40 - Dang. Getting run over by a car seems a little extreme.

24:40 - Oh no. Malcolm - what are you doing?!? Do not say that to Roger. He’s a creep but you are being really cruel.

26:40 - I feel really bad for Ainsley. She really is the third wheel in this family. They need to pay more attention to her.

27:40 - How does Jessica know that Martin watches Ainsley’s newscasts? She’s visited him once in the past 20 years.

28:08 - I know that look. That’s the look someone gets when you can hear the parental lecture running in your head even though your parental figure has only given you the look.

29:00 - That’s a really sweet story. I wish Gil would talk about Jackie more.

31:00 - I love it when Malcolm acts like a protective big brother. It’s really endearing. Also Ainsley’s ambition is a little bit scary.

34:00 - That fact that Malcolm is so calm when there is a gun pointed at his face really speaks to his passive suicidal mentality. Not good.

34:55 - That Dani/Malcolm interaction is really cute.

35:17 - Does everyone come into Malcolm’s house unannounced and uninvited?

36:00 - Loving the number of Gil/Malcolm conversations in this episode. They are fuelling my soul.
